How do I get rid of this constant problem of the SD card and SIM card removing themselves and reinstalling? It causes me to want to drop Acer phones altogether. It's a Jade S55.

I bought the s55 about a year ago, after 1 day I took it back to the store where I bought it. I had dead pixels at the top of the screen and my sd card slot didn't work. Got it back after 2 or 3 weeks. They said they made the screen and hardware. But after a week everything started again. Dead pixels and the constant messages of my sdcard being removed and "installed" again. That last one now more than ever and it's driving me crazy! The s55 must me the rubbish phone I ever got! Don't buy it!

Well, I have this phone for around 1 year, I must admit that first few months I loved it, but now there are few problems. First of all, my sim card is disconnecting quite often, which is really annoying. Second, my camera is basically ruined. One day after I had a phone call for around 1h the back of the phone got quite warm and the little glass shield just fell of :| And last but not least, expectancy of phones battery life has shrunk like crazy. If at first I could've used it for around 2 to 3 days, than now I have to charge it every night (If I use power saving mode) and if I use internet, than it works for around 6 hours (even if the internet is only turned on, but the phone is not being used).

Screen problem with an otherwise good product. What looks like pixel burnout (very bright pixel clusters) formed near top edge of phone about six months after purchase. Phone was replaced by official country office (CZ) but replacement phone also very soon exhibited identical problem. A shame, as it is in some ways a pretty nifty bit of kit. I have hung on to mine for two years and although I'll probably upgrade soon, I would equally happily hold on to this for another year.

There are two types of Acer Liquid Jade. Acer Liquid Jade S Plus and Acer Liquid Jade S55. I don't know of other ones but the S55 is not 4G LTE and only has 1GB ram and 8GB internal Storage where as the Jade S Plus has 2GB and 4GLTE i presume.

According to my research, this is normal. Mine gets hot mostly on top where the camera is and a little on the back. I wouldn't be concerned about this unless your back camera starts acting up like starts to blur or gets too grainy. The max temperature I've detected is almost 40 Celsius and when I am not using it, (when it is idle and cool) the temperature is 26 Celsius. it makes sense since the phone is really thin, if your laptop didn't have a fan or any holes for air vent then it would get extremely hot too. however, IF you stated that back is getting hot, and if that's the entire back cover? then return it before your battery explodes or leaks because that is not normal.

you need a nano sim inserted at the end of the sim and memory card holder, it will not read if you cut the sim wrong, look up an image of your sim card in a nano size and cut it precisely then insert it into the end of the holder or the front. I use my giffgaff simcard which was originally micro then chopped it to nano and did it wrong so looked up an image with the contacts showing and chopped it with that end almost chamfered. If you don't understand me then take it to your local phone shop and they should do it for you.

Everything is working okay now after Factory data reset. I had issues opening up applications, overheating, and phone kept turning OFF and ON.

I do not think the back cover can be opened. Looks like this model is similar to apple devices - it has a non-removable battery hence the back cover is not removable and the sim slot is on the side.

I just got mine and I haven't put a sim in it yet. I am using it for wifi connection though and have noticed that the back gets hot to the touch when I've been using it for a certain period of time (my other phone does not). What about you?

i've had the problem with the sim until i found out that you can't put in a sim that was cut you have to get the nano sim... the unit does not accept sim that was cut... do you have overheating problem? this one seems to be the problem with mine

How did you get that problem "no SIM card detected" resolved ? I have the same problem, when switching on my Acer Liquid Jade phone, I get the message "no SIM card detected". I have to try it many times, then I succeed finally to login to the network, but then after about 30...50 seconds I drop out, and again "no SIM card" appears. It's really bad...

Sir i think the issue is on the power button, try to push the power button on the edge to keep it away to push the switch the power button. Thr cause is in the switch that stuck not pump up to released the switch what i mean it causes to switch on and off that's why it keeps restarting!

i have been using an acer liquid Z200 . at first i was having problems with is cause it keeps on over heating ! but after a few days , i stopped and now its working good ; it has a fast internet connection and the camera is really good, even if its small, it can do multi tasking, now im planning to upgrade to a new phone but still acer, and the phone i have now, will be given to my sisted . :)

Great phone. Beautiful design, fast interface and very smooth. Camera is FANTASTIC, it captures sharp pictures with so much light even in low light situations. I have an Acer laptop for 8 years and heavy use still works good. My mum has an Acer Liquid Z2 and is happy with it. She dropped it so many times and even dropped it in a sink full of water and it survived. Acer has great quality products for a good price

there is 2 kind of jade. acer jade and acer jade plus. the deference is the memory and ram. jade plus have 16gb and 2gb ram.

I must post it for those who give bad ratings to Acer laptops.I have never owned an Acer mobile phone so cannot say much about them.But I have two Acer laptops both are very good machines.It is being used for last 5 years and no break downs at all.Used extensively for watching movies/browsing/youtube for many many hours continuously.Works just fine.High End Acer laptops should be choice for heavy work or business.
