Asus PadFone S - User Reviews

  • Mine is black color PadFone S. I've checked with my network provider. At the moment, there are few available frequencies such as 900, 1800, 2100 and 2600. I found out on GSMarena that lowest band for Padfone S is 700. I have updated my phone to Android 6. Is there any updates available so my phone could detect network signal again? To see no signal bar shown up there with symbol X making me so frustrated.

  • Yes I want it, i will purchase it anyway if they care about this series. There was a report about 2 years ago that they want to make the new generation of this phone using snapdragon 820, but I don't know if they were really take the project to the real stage of production or just a blue print, but this report are seemed to be real

  • Hi! I will answering your question, below on your question : 1. I've purchased 64 GB memory card and placed it in the phone, hoping I could transfer/install some of the apps. But I couldn't find any options to do that, meaning to say I must install all apps into phone memory and only store other files such as images and audio file to the memory. Anyone here successfully installed their apps to memory card? -Since Android Marhsmallow, you can't store any app data to the external card (but in Oreo, this option has back) 2. I've noticed I'm having issue with the network signal. I believe Padfone S is a 4G smartphone, but after 2 weeks using it I could see sometimes the network signal not available (cross/x symbol without signal bar). Sometimes it will show full bar signal but 4G symbol changed to E or H+ most of the time. When this happen, it impossible for me to surf Internet because I keep getting error 'Your Offline' or something like 'DNS Probe error' appeared on Google Chrome browser. I did some basic troubleshooting such as switch to flight mode, remove the SIM card, manual network selection, reset network settings, etc. Still, no positive outcome. -What type of Padfone that you have? the white color has different and better 4G band afterall, and the black version has smaller band so it might be difficult to identify your network problem. 3. Is it normal this phone will become very very warm even if there's no heavy usage? I almost dropped the phone because the back of the phone became very warm after I took it from my table. -Yes it's very common, the placing of SoC is very close to the battery and it is the main case of this issue. But don't force your phone to work harder than usual, it affect the battery life cycle and may cause battery defection in short term use.

  • This is the best phone I've ever use. I know this phone has battery drain issue that everybody will not tolerate this problem, but this is essentially the best phone in the market in 2014. It has decent camera (seriously it's par with Galaxy S5 and HTC One M8 at the same time), great performance (it's even more stable than SD820), It has good compatibility with further customization (you can upgrade it to Oreo unofficially). But my Padfone S having a problem with touch latency issue after 2 years of usage and I don't mind to fix it because it lacks of spareparts. It's my fault, because of my extreme usage

  • Anyone ever think that padfone succesor should go head to head with galaxy flip-screen phone???

  • I forgot to mention, network coverage is absolutely fine for my location. I never had any issue if I placed the same SIM card in other phone which is Honor 4C. But for my Padfone S, I always need to restart or switch flight mode whenever I see no signal abr appear. So I don't think this is related to network issue. Should I try other troubleshooting for my Padfone S?

  • I just purchase this phone 2 weeks back. There are few questions I would like to ask here, especially to those who are using this Padfone S previously (and still using it now). 1. I've purchased 64 GB memory card and placed it in the phone, hoping I could transfer/install some of the apps. But I couldn't find any options to do that, meaning to say I must install all apps into phone memory and only store other files such as images and audio file to the memory. Is it normal this phone will become very very warm even if there's no heavy usage? I almost dropped the phone because the back of the phone became very warm after I took it from my table. I really hope you guys could give some advice on this. Don't get me wrong, I love this phone (especially the screen and not many people using it anymore. So it's kinda old school). Please let me know your suggestion and feedback so I could play Mobile Legend and surf Internet as before. ;-)

  • it been 3 month already since i use this phone and still good as new, no lag, good for playing games, browsing and many more but the battery are not very good.

  • I still use this phone. Although sometimes feels slow but all applications can still run normally. The beautiful screen, the complete specifications and the nice rear camera keeps me from buying a new phone. But when asus introduced ZenFone 5 / 5Z I think this could be a worthy successor.

  • Just don't get the Mini. That device is really slow. This one isn't blazing fast but it's fast enough to get basic work done.

  • This phone is still great. You can go to cellunlocker.net and get a network unlock (I just did this and I got a result in 2.5 days). eBay has these at prices that are fairly inexpensive. I think I paid about $90 for mine with dock. You can unlock the bootloader and get the ASUS Padfone S ROM to install on a Padfone X (instructions at XDA Developers site). It's easier than you think. I put in a 200GB micro SD card with no problems... and to be honest, it runs Boxer and other apps much better than my new LG V30+ did. Plus, for the apps that the Google Play store falsely reports that can't run on this device (Samsung Gear suite, for example), there is always the APKMirror which let me install it with no issues so I can use my Samsung Gear S3 Frontier with it. I think I have probably another 2-3 years before software support is completely gone and apps are either running too slow or won't support Marshmallow (Android 6)

  • Sorry to hear that. Perhaps that Marshmallow update for Padfone S / S+ did not focus on the tablet side. I also have Asus Fonepad Note 6, out of the box OS was 4.2.2. when upgraded to Lollipop 5.0 OS, the Pen function (crop/cut/paste, scrolling via hovering above screeen, etc) not functioning. I went to Digital Mall PJ Asus Authorized Service Ctr to downgrade. Had to pay RM50.00. Anyhow, at least. both phones can use slimport adapter (check Lazada) to mirror the phone screen to any LCD tv via HDMI connection. Link with a bluetooth gamepad, you can play games on big screen. Forget Nintendo Switch... :D

  • Anonymous & Sykes, I also wanted to buy the tablet alone from DirectD in Malaysia, they had it advertised in Lelong.com.my. I called & emailed them and they confirmed that it was out of stock. That was in end of June. I have since bought a used tablet on eBay, shipped from the UK. I used a Padfone2 before, the Padfone2 charges the phone from the tablet. The Padfone S doesn't seem to be charging from the tablet, even when switched to Phone Preferred Mode I don't see the green lightning on the phone battery at the top. Maybe its a Marshmallow thing.

  • Purchased this phone March 2015 and still working good now. Not laggy in everyday use (browsing, downloading, social media, messaging, reading documents etc) and gaming is powerful enough for me (I play Cytus, osu! And other rhythm game and never lagging). The only flaw is the phone sometimes restarted itself, but I don't really mind since it boot up moderately fast (faster than zenfone 2). This phone is underrated i think for a 2014 phone and still better than newer zenfone 2 2gb ram, performance wise with same price.

  • Yes, the tablet dock and keyboard are bought at Direct D, but the tablet dock is sold out, left the keyboard.

  • Dear Anonymous, I am from Malaysia. I also bought the same model; Asus Padfone S Plus, last year. I am currently looking for the tablet dock & keyboard. please tell me where did you purchase the accessories? is it DirectD store? or somewhere else...please help.

  • I agree. My phone is not rooted but no problem with mobile legend highest setting. The best thing is I can install and run tablet only app even without docking. Forgot what app but cant install on my other phone.

  • You need to remove case before docking. And you cant use thick screen protector like tempered glass. Even my plastic screen protector leave some scratch mark from lots of docking. Almost 2 year use and not too visible. But it may be because dust while dock.

  • Remember back last year around May, I able to get the 3GB RAM, 64GB version (only left white color version) for around Myr 549 (around USD 127), this phone considered is a steal with 64GB internal storage, and also has micro sd card slot. After manually updated to lollipop, this phone performance is phenomenal. Only down side is the phone battery life, barely last till 5pm if turn on 4G, and continues used. SD801 processor will overheat if push too much, especially playing heavy game. I also bought the tablet dock (myr299) and it's Bluetooth keyboard (myr149), which can hold the tablet dock. The thing that left me unsatisfied the most is the performance drop to half after dock into the tablet dock, and the tablet speaker are so weak. The keyboard also has serious lag when inputting text, regret to buy the accessory together. At last, after few weeks, I sold the whole package to a friend, who very much appreciate such versatile setup, and impress with the 64GB internal memory at such price. He is very happy with the purchase, and the versatile tablet/phone setup help on his business. He only have to save document into phone, then can show at tablet size screen when needed, no need separate device, and save time for the file transfer. However, the tablet dock is so thick and heavy. All in all, this is a rare affordable versatile phone/tablet concept is pioneered by Motorola (around year 2011, Motorola Atrix, which has a docking accessory to transform phone into a mini laptop), then ASUS polish the concept 1st with their Transformer range of tablet/netbook keyboard hybrid, and finally comes to Padfone, but is obsolete by ASUS them self where sales is not good on these device. ASUS didn't continue to invest and polish this concept, they focus on the Zenfone series. On this year, the transformer concept is succeeded by Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+ Dex dock. All in all, phone will is better to focus be phone alone, tablet is tablet, laptop is laptop. These hybrid concept seems less appreciated by the market, even my friend who bought from me get shock with this Padfone concept, just because I post on FB, and he become interested and never heard before such device exist in the market. All in all, this phone 3GB/64GB white version alone still selling at myr 699 at online store. Considering the feature and storage option, this is a better buy than a Xiaomi Mi4 (which don't has 4G), and HTC Butterfly 2. Of course, at it's selling price now, is flooded by Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and 4.

  • where did u get the phone?

  • Hi can you please show how you root Android 6.01 for Aus padfone S?

  • Not at all. Sometimes it lags during heavy multitasking but day to day ui operation is still solid. I am having it for 2yrs and 2+ months now and had 0 problems until now. The battery performance also does not deteriorates until now.

  • Hey someone please me that, when the phone cover with case does it able to insert into the dock station? or the cover have to be removed then it allow to insert it?

  • I just bought xiaomi redmi note 4 and now i have asus padfone s as well. Yes if it ia in 2gb it does sometimes laggy especially on docking mode But i rooted it and use virtual ram from my memory card class 4 and now it has 2+2gb memory from the virtual I say it run smoother Then i try run on one of those mobile games like Mobile Legend as mt xiaomi on x20 helio lags even in the highest setting But suprisingly my padfone s which been rooted with 2gb memory virtual on it. Max setting it is much way better then my x20 helio For 2014 model wins over a 2 years newer model and newer chips =] This model is a gold

  • all you need to do is go to the link below than download the update, transfer to phone internal storage. the phone will detect the update & follow the instruction on screen. by the way, do not unzip the update. straight transfer to phone after dl.

  • with only 2 gigabytes of ram, android Update marshmallows make mobile performance is slow

  • I bought this phone but how to update marshmallow .. I need help .please answer my question

  • Dear Padfone S/S Plus users. The Android M update (worldwide) has been publish in Asus official website (Dated: 24.10.2016) Version WW-13.6.5.35(Andriod M). link :

  • Is the PadFone S work with the dock of the PadFone Infinity !? Any opinion?

  • The Marshmallow firmware is available but for TW version, not WW (international). For me, it is not frustating much. When I don't like my phone, I sold it and bought a new one with newer Android version and almost the specs or at least have 2 GB RAM and internal 16 GB.

  • U are correct. The update is still not here. Zenfone 2 already receive their 2nd follow up updates to Android M. We do not get even the primary update for Android M. Very frustrating.

  • Almost no rumor again, the Padfone S itself not as success as Zenfone series. By judging Indonesia region, people the most prefer Zenfone series and the most of them do not know Padfone S. The update for Padfone S itself is too long waiting. Added.... Asus markets and display Zenfone series a lot compared with Padfone S.

  • when will come out new generation padfone ?...damn. letting me wait too long..

  • It still worth in my opinion, but by looking this year and many new smartphones appear, there are many choices out there for better spec and newer release.

  • Beforer I sold my Padfone S, the WW 11.10.17 version I tried was little issue too. Sometimes it does restart randomly by itself.

  • No, I didn't. I didn't use Miracast or DLNA, so I don't know about this. And I would like to tell that I never try Miracast or DLNA for all smartphones I have ever used so far.

  • depends. what kind of cellphone does your husband used before? there are type of people who use certain phone brands (e.g.: samsung, sony, HTC,etc...). if they want to have latest phone, they just buy the same brand (because they feel comfortable with the brand), if your husband prefer functionality than brand, it worth the buy.

  • Is it a worth buy? Planning to gift it to hubby.. plz suggest

  • i need to check with everyone. has anyone update to firmware V11.10.7.17. Any issues? - phone reboot itself (while using app: google map) - able to use miracast? - zen music app EQ force close the app - any other issue arises after update??? ASUS PadFone S Firmware: V11.10.7.17 Only for WW SKU (Android 4.4.2) Improved Item: 1. Improved audio recording quality. 2. Improved SD card compatibility. 3. Improved file receive function via Bluetooth. 4. Improved MIRACAST compatibility. 5. Improved music playback. 6. Fix: Task manager widget display incorrectly 7. Fix: PIN insert page display incorrectly 8. Fix occasional reboot issue when updating apps stored on the SD card

  • Since you flash to kitkat 18. did you check if you are able to use the PlayTo (miracast/DLNA) function?

  • Previously i did comment about heating issue compared to my wife 2yearold galaxy s3. Now i dont think i have the heating issue. I dont know why. I just love this phone even its screen cracked already. This phone charging fast. i think 2.5 hours fully charge the battery. No lagging issue for now. Transfer files between internal to external no problemo.

  • Sadly, it's performance reduce to almost 50% when dock into the tablet station. The phone itself is hell so fast and fluid, but the tablet seems so slow. Hope ASUS can rectify this.

  • Now buying the Padfone S Plus 64GB, 3GB RAM version, together with it's tablet station and Padfone X bluetooth keyboard(which is fully compatible and able to hold the tablet station) Yes, outlook wise, this is some of the most outdated phone, tablet and netbook. But functionality wise, this is the most versatile hybrid device, which is a 5" phone, a 9" tablet, and also a netbook with keyboard. Ok, quality wise, overall setup is very buicky and heavy, tablet speaker is not ok, tablet station cannot access OTG, all plasticky built, front camera is old school 2M, no fingerprint scanner, no IR port, but still remain the NFC. All in all, with overall price cut that is more than half from it's original release for 64GB version (including price cut for original accessory), this is the truly all in one device that is not breaking the bank, but still remain high performance with SD801 processor and 3GB RAM. This comment is typed with Padfone S in netbook mode.

  • where shop sell this screen phone..because my screen broken..

  • Front camera can't be set.

  • Hai guys, did anyone know how can i setting my front camera. I use a smule apps and want to use front camera to singing but when the front camera on the the pic looks so near in big size..i try to setting in camera setting but still not working..try to formaty phone and also uninstalled the apps but still facing same problem...pls help me...

  • Found comment said, in June. So you should wait again.

  • If your device is still in KitKat, you can't find update via OTA update. You should do manually. That's the lack of Padfone S.

  • y i cannot found the latest update?please help...

  • The Update is available since 2015, but the update have to be manual.

  • Padfone S has no battery problems. Its endurance is average.

  • When the android marshmallow is release for this phone? So far only planned for marshmallow. I want to know release date for this phone.

  • hey buddy, does the sylus work with this latest padfone s.. if yes then I wish to but it with the dock.. thanks in advance

  • Again I post. About double tap to wake, now I suggest KnockOn by Jawomo, till small app works very good in my Padfone S. Double tap to off works 99%, while double tap to wake works 90%. Not perfect, but it's OK to be use for daily use.

  • And I will add note again. Today I install the Knockr again. I gave 1 star at Play Store, very bad app. I disable the knock code by setting 'nothing' on knock section. What was the result? Afer the screen of my Padfone S turn off, when I press power button, it show knock lock, I tried many code, from default 1234 to whatever code, nothing work, and I can't get rid of the knock code, except I restart my phone.

  • For users who like smart screen on off without tap power button, may try Gravity Screen or Smart Screen On Off by Lutinh Developer. Gravity Screen was good, I had used before, it would screen off when lie the phone to the flat thing (table, bed, etc) and screen on when user takes the phone. By moving to the right or left it could do too. Smart Screen On Off is also good, I use it. It has double tap to screen off (very good), but no double tap to wake up. To wake up the screen, you can make your finger or hand near the proximity sensor, it will do. So far i like this app. Yes, it is not perfect, sometimes I find this app not running 100% in background. I found it when the screen off, I made my hand near the proximity sensor, it didn't do anything. When I screen on by pressing power button and cheked the running application inside Settings menu, I found that app show 0 services. So you need open the Smart Screen On Off and exit again, it will run again in background (can be seen by pulling down the notification bar). Not perfect, but it is useful enough for users who dislike tapping power button ti screen on the phone.

  • Still no new firmware download, the latest is still Lollipop WW 43.

  • About more than 2 days ago, I flashed my device to KitKat 18. KitKat 17 I got twice restart by itself.

  • Several days ago I flash again to Lollipop 43, used for 4 days, experienced restart by itelf 2 times, first when browsing internet, second when play game using ePSXe, so I flash back to KitKat but tried KitKat 17.

  • Knockr didn't work very well. I had tried many screen on/off app, some of them worked half function only, for example, double tap to switch off screen only (no double tap to wake up screen). Default double tap feature available is better like my previous LG G2.

  • No,I didn't. I use Gravity screen. It is better I think.

  • Have you try Knockr from Gplay knock on screen to wake up?

  • I have used it for more than 21 days now in KitKat 18 firmware version on Padfone S, no restart by itself problem. So far it is good. :-)

  • For users who like double tap or using hand near the proximity to screen off the LCD, you might be want to install smart screen on/off. I use this app, now my Padfone S will turn off screen by double tap and hand cover the proximity sensor and screen on when hand cover the proximity sensor.

  • After several days of used, I went back to KitKat 18 again. So far I don't face random restart by itself in KitKat.

  • I had installed the latest Lollipop firmware (WW 12.2.2.43), still the same, random reboot by itself sometimes happen

  • Thanka for the share. I use Padfone S 16 GB memory, no experience heat issue so far.

  • Te latest firmware now is WW V12.2.2.43 (Android Lollipop 5.0). The features are: 1) Several Apps update 2) Improve Settings stability and modify Italian string 3) Improve overall Email stability 4) Fix Auto-download system update issue and modify Chinese string 5) Improve overall Phone stability 2016/01/04

  • Where did you buy RM 690 ? is it padfone s plus ?

  • My padfone s plus. 64gb/3gb. Heating issue. It generates more heat than my wife 2 yearold galaxy s3 even using it for about 10 min of camera, web browsing. It feels uncomfortable when we put the heated phone in pocket.

  • Forgot to tell, i'm using padfone s plus 64gb.

  • Camera review. Not a good front (selfie) camera. Very poor picture quality. But the back camera is quite good. In automatic setting only can set 3M (4:3) and 2M (16:9) only. U will get 10M if set to other options.

  • Dec 30, 2015 on everning I did flash my PadFone S again, downgraded to KitKat WW. 11.10.17, till now I type, I don't face any random restart by itself. Looks the KitKat is more stable than Lollipop 5.0.

  • I had updated manually. Still disappointed me, it still restart by itself sometimes. Today, I have experienced restart by itself twice.

  • Yes, that was the latest price. I bought this phone on January for RM849.

  • The latest firmware for Padfone S is WW_12.x.xx.41 lollipop. U can update it manually by downloading the update zip file form Asus support webpage if u didn't receive it through OTA, maybe this can solve our problem. I did not experience any random restart in previous kit kat firmware.

  • The CM 12.1 must be a custom rom. Did you root your Padfone S?. Since firmware WW.11.18, I encountered restart by itself. First happened in Dec 12, 2015 when I was YouTube (restarted when I started to stream, was connected to portable WiFi). Second, happened in Dec 16, 2015, when I was typing in WPS Office.

  • I bought Padfone S without docking. In my country the sales have two types: first one with docking (more expensive), second without docking (cheaper). And I paid for USD 170,82 only (converted from Indonesia Rupiah). The Padfone S Plus with docking was USD 281,554 (converted from Indonesia Rupiah). So I chose cheaper type, limited budget.

  • Quite a nice phone. The only problem was the battery life. Upgraded to CM12.1 and it works like a charm.

  • Why you didn't buy the s plus one?

  • I have used Asus Padfone S for 4 days now. Very good for the performance, camera is nice. Almost seldom experience lag, a very little late open an application may happen, but it is Ok, overall is very good. I like this Padfone S. I updated to WW 11.10.17 firmware of KitKat manually on my Padfone S, it had shown 4G icon, previously in firmware 11.10.15 no LTE network choice. Typing is very good and I can type fast. For battery, is average, I play game for several hours, did internet Facebook, in 4 hours of use, the battery remains 17% of 100%. All many Android smartphones I had testes and tried like this. Even I had used Samsung Galaxy Note II, played game much for 4 hours, the battery was about should be charged.

  • The camera is nice and good to see too. It has 4K video recording.

  • Anyone can make any different in the S+ vs S on the battery endurance? S+ has bigger RAM 3GB(S+) vs 2GB(S).

  • Guys how is the camera quality on this device? I really want to buy it

  • Padfone s or s plus? Where

  • I'm only bought this phone about RM690

  • Battery hasn't been an issue for me. I am using 4G, understandably it will drain quicker than 3G. Nevertheless, the battery life can last minimum 10 hours for heavy online surfing using 4G and 22 hours for 3G. Until today I haven't thought about using a powerbank yet.

  • I'd like to know about the S and S plus 1. If there is any extra battery packed in the station rather than the battery inside the phone 2. If both of the phons supported 4G and 3. If the station has its own screen keyboard and there is no need to order the keyboard accesory. many thanks

  • Asus announces marshmallow updates for Zenfone 2 and padfone s

  • How about the battery performance.??? Do it face the draining issue.???

  • Today is my first anniversary using PadFone S first edition, overall I am satisfied with its performance. Never regret it. Maybe I am a bit dissatisfied with the sound. Others are fine.

  • had it for few days, overall... great.... satisfied with all

  • Love this phone. I don't need to change for a couple of years again.

  • Looks like a great buy.....but how is the camera quality

  • never have any problem. Zen UI i mean (not UI) good display, good batterry management (using pad dock/ tablet docking)

  • I have experience with both the Padfone S & the Padfone S Plus. The difference in RAM was obvious. The current S Plus I'm using hace the extra RAM to increase efficiency. With the 2GB RAM, it was barely enough for games and everything. Also the 64GB internal memory of the S Plus is a great bargain. The 16GB internal was simply not enough to install apps. Moving apps to the SD card require more loading times compared to the internal memory. Now I can have all my games and apps in the internal and apps load much faster. The SD Card I'm using is only for photos, videos and some of my work stuff. Definitely happy with the Padfone S Plus. If you're getting one, don't buy the original. Go for the S Plus for the extra RAM and internal memory.

  • The 16GB, 2GB RAM model now is selling just RM599. That Battery problem... what Asus Padfone S price exactly..... that mobiles are best means why new Asus padfone release in 2015 ??...

  • Price drop again at Malaysia market. The 16GB, 2GB RAM model now is selling just RM599. Paired with the tablet dock, it is just a bit more than RM1K (RM1048) With this price, you get a phone and a working tablet. Now, this is the new king of affordable smartphone.

  • This is good phone or not... Its user friendly or not, How is work ? Any Problem in this phone? What is UI since? [ I suggest not to activate Asus Zen UI since it will used your batterry a lot ]

  • Padfone S plus has better than Padfone S. I suggest not to activate Asus Zen UI since it will used your batterry a lot. I bought about 2 months a go and stil running well.

  • Battery life is terrible

  • if you have update to Lolipop when you want to root this phone please use kingroot. Its working for me.

  • That's why I'd stick with KK 4.4...

  • Checked at Malaysia website, got one site is selling the 16GB model for RM699. Then, the 64GB model is selling for RM899. Price drop drastically. Eager to get this than a Zenfone 2.

  • Lollipop has been release by last month. It is available to be downloaded on ASUS support site, already release 2 updates for Lollipop.

  • Just bought this, overall I love the performance and its docking station dynamic display. The only minus point is docking station micro USB port can not be use as OTG.

  • Several minor ones, but the big one is it constantly restarting for no apparent reason. Also, lack of support from asus is a major problem I've found. The update to lollipop was supposed to be months ago and has been delayed indefinitely

  • it is the new one..Padfone S Plus, it has 3GB RAM..already sold in some countries

  • But is said memory has to be 2GB only and not upgradeable. CMIW

  • Does asus padfone s plus has any problems??? I want feedback from those who has bought it

  • i bought this phone for $110, worth it or not?

  • you can update manual (not OTA)

  • i hope this model will get update to lollipop

  • Does it use 13 pin usb or micro usb like the zenfone model

  • In Amazon you can find both

  • What about casing and tempered glass screen protector? Is it easy to get?

  • RM899 phone only

  • Same person. (Asus PadFone s plus) how much it cost?

  • You bought it at Directd? How much it cost in Malaysia? Up than 1000 ringgit or not. Thanks dude. :D

  • Truuuue, why asus? Fix it!

  • How is the speaker?

  • Once updated with Lollipop, Power bank charging feature of the dock not working :-(

  • Urs is S Plus

  • Just bought S plus ytd at DirectD XD -S Plus RM 899 -Station RM 449 -Keyboard RM 99 Total RM 1447 (300+ cheaper than 8/7/15 price which make me buy immediately. Once open it, the touch feel and handling is good, the Zenui is simple and nice, the keyboard is quite heavy but typing feel is like normal laptop. 3GB ram is really fast come with 4G supported and 64GB really make u download apps without consideration. The station has to charge before first use (keyboard need 8 hours), initially i thought my station got problem cause no responce when i slot in S Plus but at the end just need to push it till fit properly, the station screenis is clear with different angle and transform process quite fast. Conclusion, based on research S Plus is most valuable for this price range and the short battery life can be saved by station so strongly recommend this to U and hope this help u to decide.

  • U are right!

  • Android 5 was posted on the asus support site under source code on 6/23.

  • if u have more money..Go for PadFone s Plus u got 2 bonus for ur money.First, u got 64 GB internal storage, no need to worry about data.Second, u also get 3 GB ram , fast reloading apps/games,switching apps, multitask.Awesome phone but I still no satisfied with the battery and camera(image).Value for money

  • Did anyone experience the Problems of the padfone mini? Namely broken speakers, charging Problems or the connectionproblems bewegen phone and pad? I wanna change my mini against the s. But Not with that problems

  • Did anyone experience the Problems of the padfone mini? Namely broken speakers, charging Problems or the connectionproblems bewegen phone and pad? I wanna change my mini against the s. But Not with that problems

  • Did anyone experience the Problems of the padfone mini? Namely broken speakers, charging Problems or the connectionproblems bewegen phone and pad? I wanna change my mini against the s. But Not with hat problems

  • its that padfone plus?

  • Had this phone for over 6 months. Very happy with its performance. Snappy. Just need to change this once a day.

  • I have a version with 3 GB Ram and 64 GB storage. Its ruby black. Processor and Battery are the same

  • Battery life sucks. Other than that its perfect. Still waiting for the lollipop update. Hope that Asus dont ness that up

  • For the prices ,this phone (with the tab) is incredible and I am very happy with it. Camera quality could be improved though.

  • Still 5"

  • waiting lollipop update

  • what is the size of phone on Padfone S PLUS? 5" or 5.5"? Thx

  • Why sometimes my phone get restarted on its own? it happened when i browse gallery picture, facebook, etc. can someone tell me why?

  • what a great cell phone at this price range, No major problem so far, I use this phone since January 2015, no lag, and the procecor is excellent in work. it's a simple design & you get 2 device in one price (if you buy the complete package : cellphone + pad station). over all, if you ask about this product I really recommended....

  • I have used this phone for 6 months, no major problem and no serious heating probably because it uses Snapdragon chipset.

  • how do use the vidio call & what softway can support the vidio calling

  • So far so good with this gadget

  • The upgraded version has been release, namely the PadFone S Plus. (Malaysia already on sell) Comes with 3GB RAM and 64GB internal memory. Other spec remain the same. It is roughly around 50 dollar more expensive, but still well worth the price. The old 16GB, 2GB RAM still is still brilliant, and a great bargain. This is because the phone comes with Micro SD slot, which can be expanded easily. The increase of RAM won't boost up performance either, just improve multitasking where less apps reloading between apps switching.

  • what's the price with dock station?

  • i have been using this phone for the last 5 months, and i have to say, i am very pleased with the phone itself. the phone doesn't lag, except for a bit after changing from phone to tablet or vice versa. audio is loud enough, although for watching videos sideways sometimes your hand is in the way. camera is good, no complaints there. ZenUI is actually pretty user friendly. plastic back cover is okay because mine has fallen for 5-6 times, and there is damage to the back cover. side cover are metal, but good ones because i see no scratches on mine. my biggest problem is the battery. i am an avid mobile game player and i have to say, battery doesn't last the whole day and i have to charge battery twice each day. true, this can be somewhat handled by switching to tablet, but on tablet mode, it is heavy and wide and even though my hands are big, it is just not easy to use one hand on tablet mode. but i have tried for one day of no games, just social medias, and i have to say, it last for the whole day, with 42% left at night. my other problem is actually region limited. i live in Indonesia, and the problem is accessories. because padfone s is quite new in Indonesia, not many places sell the accessories, hence making me to buy them online.

  • Adjust ur brighnest display to low.. it work for me..

  • For battery you must adjust to low brightness, it work for me..

  • Oneplus One is slightly faster than Padfone S, due to slightly more powerful processor. But, from day to day use, you won't going to notice the difference.

  • how does this phone compare to the oneplus one? are there any major performance difference?

  • it took about 2 hours to charge from about 5 %. but you have a to use the charger Asus gave you, or you'll have to wait about 4 hours to charge it with a random USB cable or lower Watt charger.

  • Most value for money smartphone...especially if you buy with it dock, battery is less but you can solve it with it's dock. Very recommended phone...

  • everything is greatt . worth every penny. the specs is as good as s5 for me an even better experience when i use it daily. only battery that dissapoint .

  • Right I use that phone, The battery is not strong enough, 2700 man minimum

  • this phone has great camera , great display , great performance for gaming. the only problem is the battery that drain so fast. i'll take this phone over iphone 5s or lg g2 or even zenfone 2

  • go for iphone 5...

  • just got it last night, in my view this padfone s in fact batrey seems drain faster than padfone 2, and backcase with doff material make it not too classy(i suggest if you want buy this fone look for white colour for cooler appreance. widget also too plain only white, not rich colour and appreance like padfone 2. im in reearch how to move padfone 2 widget into this padfone s. it should really great if i can use padfone 2 widget on it hehe

  • i got the new padfone S PLUS with 3GB RAM and 64GB Internal Memory, the rest should be the same. with sd card slot, this is what i need. for now :) this s plus version still using the same box, just they stick a new label PLUS and new spec label. battery life way behind my mi3 and lumia

  • sometimes it restart on its own. y??? );

  • This phone are truly hidden gem, not so much publicity but for those in the know, this phone is really great. the phone itself have enough horsepower for a poweruser, 2GB, 16GB, LTE, microSD, 4K recording, superb back camera, everything a high end phone has with fraction of the price. no gimmicky feature such as dedicated fitness tracker though. the size is right also, and if you happen to have the tablet dock, then it is a whole different game that, functional wise, not even S5 can match. For those of you who can not access the micro SD, it is a google limitation starting from kitkat and will be solved in lollipop, but you ASUS has provided a way using built in file manager and gallery, even the camera can save to card. You can root easily with towelroot and install sdcardfix to solve this issue

  • 2mp front camera? wth...

  • How many SOT you can get ? and how long it takes to charge?

  • If you don't care about 2 simcard slots, I suggest Padfone S because it use snapdragon 801, so performance is awesome! Battery is less than Zen6 but in my experience, it not bad, it need to change only 1 time/day. (Sorry for my English)

  • The most worth smartphone in Thailand! (I used it for 2 month, it awesome!)

  • I lost my Xperia C and bought this. Has been used for 3 weeks. I'm very satisfied, no lagging, flawless graphic, sharp display color, handy. The battery life is worse than Xperia C, but still not bad, it is charged only once a day.

  • Mobile data doesn't work at all

  • I just bought this phone without dock, and it's awesome! The price is worth it. It looks like high-end smartphone (which price is nearly twice than this), both the display and specifications. Too bad the battery is so small (2300mAh). Overall this 'superphone' is really good.

  • I just use asus 6.It's ok...I bought asus 6 because can use 2 cards.It's depend what you want.6 inch screen or 9 inch (isn't it ?)

  • Thank You for the information :)

  • Guys, I'm still confuse what to choose between Padfone S and Zenfone 6, both are awesome. Zenfone 6 already has huge battery capacity with 3300 and dual core CPU 2.3Ghz while the Padfone S has better display, camera, CPU, and so on but the battery is smaller. I experienced bad with the battery on Padfone 1 right now which was lavish. Is there anyone have opinion and suggestion about it?

  • pick iPhone 5

  • Have anybody experiencing difficulties in getting the LTE Signal? i already used the LTE simcard, i tried to switch another number LTE Simcard. i already tried to enter Engineering mode to select LTE only ( forced ), but its stated "unknown". the choice was GSM only, GSM Auto(PRL), WCDMA only, and "unknown". is there any certain patch to solve this kind of problem? Need information ASAP... thanks.

  • i'd say go for g3 (netado)

  • i buy this phone on 6/3/2015..really amaze with the phone performance in doing multitasking work and capturing a beautiful pictures. but the only main reasons why i really disappointed with this phone is the battery..

  • I have owned this phone since dec 2014, because that was when the phone was available for the first time in Indonesia. My thoughts about this phone are: 1. The phone doesn't lag at all, compared to my friend's Note 3. In tablet mode, it still doesn't lag so that's good. However, when changing into tablet or into phone, there is a bit of lag but it only last about 3 seconds. Also, some apps might be affected after changing from phone to tablet and vice versa. Examples like Facebook. When changing into tablet, the fonts looks smaller. This is solved by restarting the apps. 2. Phone heat is kind of a problem. When exposed too much of the sun, it feels kind of hot. I usually place my phone in the pocket. This problem however doesn't really affect the battery life significantly. When in tablet mode, it doesn't heat that much compared to the phone mode. 3. Battery life is good for daily use like internet, social media, camera, video playback. 100% to just 34% for the whole day. However, for gaming, i have to charge the battery twice a day, starting from about 10%. In tablet mode, for gaming, the battery life is better. 4. The phone itself is not really heavy, but in tablet mode, i feel it is quite heavy for daily use. 5. The back cover of the phone feels plasticky, and i have dropped mine for a couple of times and i found there's a bit of a dent, so accessories that protects the back of the phone is needed. However, the metal sides seems to be just fine, no scratches in mine so far. 6. Availability of ASUS phones, except zenfones, are quite difficult. I even bought mine online so this is quite annoying. The availability of the service centers are quite difficult to find as well, so tread with care. 7. Availability of the accessories are difficult as well since not many stores sell accessories for padfone s, either the phone or the tablet. They are available online though.

  • when padfone gonna comes out with styles pen...it would be perfect

  • I own Asus Padfone S. The pro about this phone are: 1.Very good camera. 2.Call quality is OK. 3.Standby time and calling time is great. The battery only drop 1% for 20 minutes talktime. 4.Screen is vibrant and punchy with great viewing angle. 5.The Soc is great, heating is not bad but there is some heat present when playing heavy app. 6. Asus support and zen ui update is frequent. The cons: 1.The speaker sound is quiet. Able to produce high quality sound but not satisfying as it is decently quiet. 2. Battery life when playing game is only medium. My suggestion go for Xperia Z3.

  • hi everyone! i planned to buy a new phone,so i have 5 choices: 1.sony xperia z2 2.iphone 5 3.lg g3 4.sony xperia z ultra 5.asus padfone s to be considered: -.i like photography -.i'm social media maniac -.i'm not a gamer(but still love game) -.i dont like something complex -.i pick phone based on the design(primary) and hardware -.i want a phone for long-term use -.i'm a student,i planned to use it for study too so which phone should i get?thank you!

  • I have use it for 2 months and for activate screen I used smart screen, but sometimes if my hand covered proximity sensor and make it turn off. I already give delay 1-2 sec for turn off to avoid accidently turn off.

  • Had this phone and the station for 4 days now. It's used (but by only 1 day!) Works perfect for me. No issue at all. US$ 260.55 only. Haha. Well, battery life is short, but I can understand since its 2300mAh only. The station works as power bank also, so when I don't use the phone, I plug into the station and battery issue no longer significant. My rating: 8.5/10.

  • ASUS Padfone S support wideband LTE (900-1800-2100).. LTE in Indonesia will use 1800 after The Government and Operator retune Their Channel.. LTE 900 just trial because the 1800 Operator Channel will be rearrange.. Thankfully..whatever Band that use for LTE..ASUS Padfone already full support..

  • Does this phone got lollipop update?

  • Using this phone since last week.. Screen : good Body : slippery back cover..must add external cover Camera : good Performance : good Battery : good but better if Asus give 2600 mah Support fast charging because the charger use output 0.3mah. Overall its a nice phone with good performance compare to its price..I buy it around USD 250 in Indonesia exclude the Pad. ONE NOTE : NO ALTERNATIVE BUTTON EXCEPT THE POWER BUTTON TO ACTIVATE OR OPEN SCREEN

  • The best phone ever..good battery life and also good for gaming..high speed on surfing ibternet because i got 4g sim..the gps also working great and accurate..it got A-GPS and also internal GPS..very recommended to anyone who want to buy it. I give 8 star for the ranking.

  • Bought two ASUS phones in my life and the Padfone S is a great improvement. However the touchscreen experiences is one of the worse I ever had. It's very sensitive to water so your hands have to be perfectly free of water before you touch it. Plus there are cases where when the touchscreen doesn't work or barely works. I would avoid this phone.

  • Now if the coming Zenfone 2 is a lot pricier than my budget would allow, I will consider this as alternative. Any suggestions?

  • Hi for Padfone user how long it take to charge the phone from 20 to 100% ? Does the padfone support fast charging? i read it slow to charge

  • Alright thanks bro

  • The speaker is able to produce great high quality sound but the volume is on the quite site. Not to say it is very low but will not able to satisfy demanding music lovers. S5 sounds a lot louder.

  • Call, Sms and light wifi browsing lasts for 3 days and less (half sccreen brigthness, no auto brightness.) Standby is OK if not great. Playing games, heavy browsing lats for 1 day and less. I bought this about 1.5 months ago at RM 849.

  • How about the battery usage. Is this phone is good? How about the price at Malaysia ?

  • is this phone waterpoof? check the video from asus at youtube..

  • The Padfone S by Asus is good. Flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset in here, and I have been using it for quite some time. Very little lag, and not to mention the fast 4G experience, can download stuff quite fast. Nice screen quality and weight. The only cons are the accessories for the phone is limited, compared to its ZenFone counterparts. And the battery life is average, with heavy usage, it can last at most half a day. Good phone, great specs for its price. Recommend to buy.

  • No update until this april. Are they buzy on developing lollypop for this asus padfone s?

  • On april

  • Anyone knows where to buy the Padfone S?I ask it because in Portugal is not for sale. I don't want to buy it on ebay,amazon,etc...,i want a website with 100% confidence that sell only new mobile phones.Thank you

  • i just bought this phone no lag no hang I love it

  • at the same price, this phone out-perform samsung, not to mention iphone is out of league, at this price you only can get slow rusty iphone 4 wahaha only zte blade can rival this phone

  • I've been using the Padfone's Indonesian edition but unfortunately negated feature for wireless charging. And for 900MHz LTE 4G connection not all operators can be connected. I hope the relevant renewal ASUS center giving update system for the 4G connection

  • Yes, it will get Lollipop update on April!!!

  • been using this phone for about 3 months, is a very good phone compare to its class (more better than S5, my brother use S5-always hang!). speed fast, camera good, sd-card support, speaker loud and can hold within one hand (palm). $$ vs time vs usage.

  • may be on your area not available 4g lte network

  • the padfone s is the best but i have a problem in that device. padfone s (black) can't use 4G FDD-LTE Band 5 900 (T.T)~

  • I use this phone. I think this phone is good enough. Just buy this phone you will never dissapointed. I am from indonesia.

  • For the phone owners, how's the battery life?

  • The speaker has a tiny sound even you set it to the max volume and I just can't feel the bass.

  • Great phone specs at a affordable price and tablet too. My complaint concerns the sd card. I can't put any thing on my sd card. And i know it's a real working card. It is a Samsung Evo 32 gb from best buy and i tested the card with the insight sd card app.Anyone has a remedy for this problem or is this what kit kat does to the phone. Other that that is a great phone. Will Rooting help?

  • Will padfone S received lollipop update?

  • This phone is a hidden gems. Not much publicity on this phone, which is the cause this phone is unpopular. Xiaomi, Oppo, Oneplus and Lenovo stole the thunder from ASUS. This phone is carrying the true flagship specs. While other flagship on this price range is offer less feature, this phone still offer 4K video recording, and Micro SD card slot, with Snapdragon 801 processor, Full HD screen, full band 4G LTE support. A true global phone. The only downside of this phone is the battery size is just 2300mAH. No high waterproof stuff. Nothing come close at this price (beating Xiaomi Mi4 and Oneplus One), even making ASUS own Zenfone series feel like an overpriced phone. Feel unsecure on China phone warranty and lack of service center? ASUS offer much better local warranty, with plenty of service center around the globe.

  • thx dude. now im prefer looking for padfone s i need ext memory

  • For non dock Padfone S vs Xiaomi Mi3, of course Padfone S is better. Advantage of Padfone S over Mi 3 1. Snapdragon S801 processor, which is much faster. 2. 4G LTE Advance connection, up to 150/50 Mbps 3. Memory Card Slot, up to 64GB The only advantage Mi 3 over Padfone S 1. Battery of 3050mAH, Padfone is only 2300mAH 2. FM Radio. Should you campare Padfone S to Mi4 LTE for LTE connection and S801 processor. Again, Mi4 also do not has Micro SD card slot.

  • padfone non dock vs mi3, which one is better?

  • i have the same problem as Vendhar. google drive just can't sync.

  • One only

  • Odd I have mine updated to 11.10.7.11 like u guys but I have no problem. Been like 3 days afterupdate nothing happen

  • Tried that also. But unfortunately all google apps including its google play services processes stop working. When tried to sign in to any Google apps it shows unable to connect to google server. Latest firmware update causes all this problems. Brought to Asus Service Center and they said they'll need to format the whole android.

  • my Padfone S work fine, superb phone!

  • try reset phone, then try updating google play service.

  • Anyone who bought Asus PAdfone S recently, do not update with the new asus firmware. Mine work fine until i did that, now no google apps works. All crashed when tried to sign in. Want to bring it to the service centre today. Only 4 days I used this phone already got problems.

  • Same here after updating all google play services stop working. After buying this phone i did not have time to install even one app as i am plagued with this issue. When tried to sign in all google apps such as playstore, youtube, maps, hangouts all crashed. Regreting to install the new firmware 11.10.7.11.

  • why i update phone cannot detect my house use wifi..help

  • Just brought phone, nice phone, but after i update new firmware the phone cannot detect my wifi.i reset my modem many time, seem cannot detect.the other wifi he detect.help (Sorru for the broken english)

  • Just bought it, nice phone!

  • Does it support dual sim card or just only one?

  • both performance quite similar. depend on what u want in a phone. Zenfone 2 -bigger screen size -dual sim -more ram if 4GB -better front cam Padfone S -dragon inside yoo! -if u want to use the docking system XD other than that, their spec is quite similar.

  • Bought it just now for RM849. Very Nice phone. Waiting eagerly while phone is charging to test the phone.

  • Padfone s vs zenfone 2, which one is better?

  • Bought it last year. Now highly suspected Asus recond (they used the term "reworked") the padfone X and sell to Malaysia and Indonesia ppl. Padfone X was not compatible with Qi wireless charging. Therefore, Malaysia Padfone S also not working with Qi charging.

  • I've used Padfone S (recently bought) for 2 weeks now. Why I have not had any problems with the unit like others. Many comments about battery; well, if you use it non-stop for hours, you should plugin the charging cable at the same time. It's not a desk top computer, you know? Don't expect it's going to do everything for you, for the price and specs.

  • Mine works fine. Leaving it idle overnight when going to sleep, battery went down couple of percentages, - from 100% to 93-94%. Everything works and works. Lucky one I guess.

  • I think your battery is faulty. Do you bought the first batch of Asus phone, which mean you buy instantly prior to the launch. Asus 1st batch may contain certain problems which will be rectified on the previous delivery.

  • Does the battery drains 60% without you doing anything or what?

  • really?

  • Where's the review man. Padfone X got one , why not Padfone S. Truly cheap phone with 801 SOC unlike so called cheap phones with mid premium price and feeble SOC.(MOTO G, Nexus 7 and etc.)

  • is it waterproof? check the official video about the phone at asus acc on youtube.. i'm little bit confuse right now..

  • microsd up to 128GB tested

  • white is not available in malaysia ? because i want to get white color too . How Is It So Far i m getting it end of the month

  • I'm looking for White color at Malaysia, but failed to get it.

  • It's about 4 to 5 hours if you only use it for web surfing or watching video

  • As far as I can remember is that li-po battery has bigger capacity but it's lighter and smaller than li-ion battery. So it's more expensive. But it mustn't be kept empty too long, (than the li-on) cause it will be damage.

  • can u try downloading the battery doctor app and try to test the battery life again k and if it is work, share it with us too

  • yeah, something wrong with the batery . watch the battery graphic on standby, bellow 60% the line straight down

  • I have same problem batery drop rapidly bellow 60%, any solution?

  • can u tell me how long does tge battery can stand ? like with wifi and 3g

  • Bought this phablet a week ago, totally Awesome!! Tested it using Antutu it reach 42k, the downside is it lacks cool features like my samsung note's and also the battery issue which is quite annoying, but overall i'm very satisfied with it..high specs with low budget!

  • i love this phone

  • which network do you use? celcom, maxis or digi? how fast is the download speed on LTE? how long to fully charge the phone battery? any wifi issue with this phone? TQ :)

  • Not dual sim because it has LTE connectivity

  • Agree, I won't hesitate to buy if this come with Dual SIM feature :(

  • What is difference of li-ion and li-po battery? this phone use li-po battery, is better than li-ion battery with same capacity?

  • Why asus made this phone just single sim T_T i wanna dual sim but zenfone 6 is to large and zenfone 5 is too low performance

  • Dear GSMArena, Asus PadFone S did have GLONASS support, please update it.

  • Dude, it is absolutely correct as I'm one of the owners of PadFone S which tested with Antutu 5 benchmark and I able to obtain 41k+ score. Only Snapdragon 801 or above can achieve these score.

  • Hi Gman, it is about roughly 1.5 to 2 days (normal surfing, no gaming), if serious gaming, roughly 10 hours. Since it is using Li-Po battery compared with Note II's Li-Ion, it can last longer.

  • Rycer, I also thinking of upgrading my Note 2 to Padfone S. Just want to know how is the Padfone S battery life compared to your Note 2?

  • Can GSMArena confirm if the specifications is right? Because in official page, Asus Padfone S have Snapdragon 801 for CPU.

  • I have been having the phone for about 1 month, overall it is great experience compared with Note II in terms of responsiveness, good rear camera quality (not the front), speaker quality still acceptable but it lacks of "mini bass" as Note II have it, and the vibrator is not that good if compared with Note II. By the way, I am a Malaysian and the protective case pretty hard to find over here that you have to purchase them online, e.g. lelong.com.my (you know what is it if you're a Malaysian) and screen protection film or glass easy to get over here.

  • can i have ur opinion about the padfone s ? is it good ? and is the accessories is easy to find in malaysia ?

  • Does Padfone S support for OTG device?

  • Got this phone with tablet last month, superb phone & damn good bang for the buck. 3 major peeve though. 1) Battery too low power 2200mah hardly enough to last through a day of decently heavy use. 2) Softkeys at bottom of screen takes up valuable space. 3) Qi charging not working (even ASUS Malaysia has no answer after since purchase till now!). Other than that, a truly great phone. TQ.

  • u can compare it in this website ...

  • Did asus padfone s support hdmi?

  • 1) Since can last 24houts of basic usage (calls n standby), n still left abt 50%, i perzonally think battery is quite alright. 2)My mum dont utilise for video or game, so cannot advise on n wifi/3G usage. 3)Wat i meant is, just standby n do nothing for abt 6hours, when sleeping at night, the battery percentage will drop abt 10%.

  • What is different between padfone x and padfone s?

  • so the battery life is kinda bad then ? but how long is the battery gonna last just by using wifi ? or 3g ? and u said it drop about 10% every night ?

  • I currently own one of this device with the tablet dock. Overall the device works pretty fine except that the Gorilla Glass isnt as good as those on SAMSUNG & KYOCERA. BTW this is a single SIM device.

  • No new feedback from mum, but the below is wat i observed previously. 9)Battery. Whole night seem to drop abt 10%. For my mum's basic use for calls, it seems to last 1 full day, till next morning which is abt 24hours, still have 55% left. Charging with the original plug n cable seems slow, abt 1% per 2min. Wireless charging for N5 is slower than cable, so same may apply for PF. Wireless charger stated that efficiency is abt 70-80%. So wireless is even slower.

  • i wanna ask about the battery life ? is it good ?

  • It's single SIM, right?

  • what stylus do you recomend for this padfone and how do i know is the screen has a "wacon feel it tecnology"

  • every phone will heat up playing while charging =,=

  • Tis phone will be heat when plying games n charging??

  • whats the improvement about ?

  • can.

  • There is a system update (11.10.7.6) for PF S. Should i go for it?

  • Asus Padfone S can use normal vedio call?

  • PadFone S can use normal vedio call???

  • really ? wow thats awesome to have those accessories avalaible at there.. but somehow if people complains about the quality if it,i may have to change my mind that is lenovo a8 which have the mtk6592 octa and almost the samme power as the pf.. but this is the only cheapest snapdragon 801 phone that is avalaible .. but i love asus interface cuz it somehow similar to iosaybe alittle .. also the price is getting lower by some period.. i hope there a promotions for the holidays... ok thats it for now.. if i have more question ill comment here :) .. happy holiday to u my friend

  • Please don't believe the hype. The battery capacity is similar to HTC One(M7) and Galaxy S3. The rating itself is only performed in controlled condition, so it will not be the same on normal usage. The phone may stand by longer on idle, but not when the phone is used continuously. Anyway, install a 3rd party power saver apps will extend the battery life much longer.

  • Seems that padfone s battery endurance rating is higher than xiaomi mi 3 and redmi note even though xiami battery capacity is bigger than padfone s. Any1 can verify this?

  • The PadFone S actually is considered very good compare to the flagship phone in term of price. This phone is not a Nexus killer. It is marketed as a high end flag ship. For this price, no complain on the feature, but just worry of the phone quality, as previous experience with ASUS Fonepad, the pad breakdown twice. But after repaired, no more issue, and very durable overall. But I have choose other phone over this. I choose Acer Liquid S2, just because it's price dropped very close to Padfone S (lower than N5, lower than Oneplus One, lower than Xiao Mi Mi4). That phone has almost similar characteristic with Padfone S.(not a popular phone, casing very hard to find, so called yellowish screen, non-removable battery, plasticky and rubber built, not as premium as high end phone, but with high end spec).

  • OK. Hope they change a new one for u. Happy holidays!!

  • JLM thank you, mmm it is too late.... I already bought samsung grand prime. unfortunately not ong enough as the samsung already hang n I sent back to the shop that I bought the grand prime. I use it only for 3 hrs then the software problem set in haiyooo. Not my lucky day.

  • Hi Adam, I terminated FB some time bk, so m now 1 of few who dont have FB. Haha. U can still post here, n I will try to reply. I have registered with GsmArena, so that reply will be immediate. 1)Someone did comment earlier, that expected Asus to having quality issues for new phones. So waiting may be a gd idea, though not sure till when. 2) Overall, I think PF not bad. For 2-yr, $41/month, plus $70 voucher, I got it in Singapore for $28 only, so I think its worth any risk. 3) For Padfone(PF) speaker, if the hardware is sub-standard, software may not help, but let's keep our fingers crossed. That said, it is definitely ok for normal usage, speaker voice call. For music, can always use earpiece or bluetooth. When u need music on speaker, just face the back up n hope. Haha. 4)PF is marketed to be slotted into Tablet. Somewhere in manual or specs did mention not to put casing, as may affect. Maybe thats why not much companies interested. But the availability is still better than Nexus5(N5). At TaoBao/HaiGou, I found back-case, full covers with/without windows, film/glass screen protectors. 5)Screen brightness is noticeably lower than N5, but i must say that video/pics/reading is clear or very clear, somehow very soft/comfortable to the eye, may due to high PPI. 6)Camera, didnt really try. It offers multi/fast shot up to 100. Focusing quite fast. Not sure wat else to look out for. 7)LED notification is on top-right, but very small n dim. So far, i have seen it light up while charging, when 100%(nothing less), when have SMS. Have not check if can change colour or settings. 8)Dont seem to have radio, but forgot to chk this one. 9)Battery. Whole night seem to drop abt 10%. For my mum's basic use for calls, it seems to last 1day, next morning which is abt 24hours, still have 55%. Charing with the original plug n cable seems slow, abt 1% every 2min. Wireless charging for N5 is slower than cable. Wireless charger stated that efficiency is abt 70-80%. So wireless is even slower. As my mum is using the PF, I cannot try it out immediately or everyday.

  • ok thanks for the quick review of this phone :).but althought this phone is already official.. accessories for it still limited

  • Hi Kimi, I posted the reply meant for u, wrongly to Adam. So u will need to chk it out. Sorry.

  • I once watch a video about the n5 speaker had some problems.. but its already been fixed by a sofware updates.. i hope the pf speaker problem is beacause of the sofware not of the speaker itself

  • So the worst part of the pf s is just the back speaker then ? Hmm i maybe ill just gonna wait a little bit for the newest set to be sold ..but overall the pf is good right ? No other problems about it except the speaker being too bad thats all ? I think we should connect with fb so i can get a clearer review from you sir

  • I posted a reply to Kimi a while ago, sort of small review, also mentioned that the speakers avg. I m lazy to type again, so maybe u can refer to it.

  • Padfone S (PF)is for my mum. I only do initial set-up n maintenance. I use Nexus5(N5). I prefer N5. I m not pro or expert, just personal opinion. 1)N5 speaker is alrdy average, but PF is slightly worse. Ref: N5 6/10. PF 5/10. PF speaker like having excess echo, don't get the enjoyment as much as N5.For PF alert n notification, its OK. Sound is loud enough. But speaker is at back, so muffled. When receiving call, very clear. The other end hears u well. Vibration motor ok, but almost same as N5. 2)PF Max brightness is only abt 80% of N5. But N5 80% to Max, is only a bit difference. I need abt 40% N5 to see under sun. Pt to note, is PF screen is very comfortable to eye, even when reading mode is not on. Reading mode makes white turn a bit yellow. Watching YouTube is pleasant. When not under sun, in order to home screen to look nice, need abt 80% PF. 3) The 150grams PF feels well-balanced. 4) Built feels solid, but back cover creaks a little, but nothing too bothering. 5) PF UI makes some setting troublesome to configure, can't find or hard to find. Overall, I think its good buy if not too expensive. I prefer N5 maybe coz alrdy accustomed to it. N5 is also lighter at 130g. N5 has very limited casings. I bought PF Full-cover casing with window n Glass screen protector from TaoBao/DaiGou, have not arrive. In Singapore, Qoo10 or store, cannot find PF casings.

  • No, I did not take note.

  • really ? nice . but is the cases and the screen protector is available too ?

  • Can anyone give comments about the disadvantage of this phone? As I choose a phone based on the acceptibility of the phone's disadvantages.

  • i buy from directd yow...we're malaysian

  • Thanks Bro, appreciate the info

  • can use padfone s with infinity docking station??

  • do u remember what the latest updates is ?

  • really ? the speaker is good ? awesome .. i also gonna buy this phone soon .. but i hope the price could be down alittle .. now at RM859

  • The battery percentage Meter is weird. I was waiting for last 2% to full. It took very long, likely due to safety mechanism / trickle charge. Impatient, so unplug at 98%. While using phone for a few minutes the battery increased to 99%, while off the plug. Not sure what's the explanation. Hoping some expert can shed some light.

  • Hi JLM, thanks for your review, so what do u think is it worth buying Asus padfone S or not. At the moment I'm using BlackBerry Q5, and I had experience using nexus 5 for 7 months. Asus PF vs Nexus 5 which one do you prefer. The price here in Malaysia about Rm 859-899. Nexus 5 still 1k + Kindly give your expert opinion

  • I just bought my Padfone S, also updated, then Play Store Authenticatiom failed. U can chk out this link, "http://www.androidpit.com/google-play-not-working" I tried the rest of mentioned methods in that link but failed. Only worked when did factory reset. Phone is OK now.

  • USB port don't feel like it will break easily.

  • Hi, I used the N5 for abt a yr. Now, bought the Padfone(PF) S for my mum, n did the set up. While answering call, PF phone speaker is a lot louder n clearer than N5. PF UI makes some settings difficult to configure. N5 is a lot more straightforward or user-friendly. N5 screen brightness is a lot better. For PG screen, reading on white background has no problem. But when u compare on coloured homepage, PF Max is like N5 50%. But take note that after N5 50% brightness, there is not much difference. I have not read under sun yet. If any more questions, leave a note, then I try to test n reply.

  • From 3 YouTube videos I saw, they all open the back cover by plying the part of plastic cover, that is back of USB port.I tried n succeeded, but tight since new. I will recommend using an old / seasoned USB cable first as it fits better, while u season the new cable with an old power bank or whatever micro USB port that u don't mind spoiling. Anyway, the USB cable also fits easier on an old/seasoned port.

  • So the usb port is not gonna be broke ?

  • In response to someone who said he broke the phone's USB port surrounding. 1) For the first time, it is very very very very difficult to insert the mini-usb into the charging port. I have checked and confirmed that there is no obstruction. I rocked side to side to get it in. I dont recommend rocking front and back as more likely to strain the port casing. 2)When removing for the first time, it is also very very very very difficult. I have had 3 smartphones, and this is the only one that is so difficult. I believe that hardware is not well made.

  • Hi, I just got the phone from Singapore today. SAR should mean Specific Absorption Rate, right? I am just copying outright so dont ask me what the number or ratings mean. • So how about the speaker phone? Is it clear and loud?

  • The screen is a 5" Full HD display with 441 ppi (one of the highest), so the screen actually is pretty good and sharp. The "yellowish" color is depend on the backlit LED color temperature, which is not something that can be adjusted, even using the ASUS Splendid setting. The setting can reduce the effect by changing color temperature, but not by much. Those are much on the personal preference. (iPhone screen actually has more blueish color temperature)

  • Not all LCD screen are made the same. I own 4 Android device, tablet and smartphone. All of the screen color gamut is different. One it is the AMOLED, the others 2 are IPS LCD, 1 is SPVA LCD. Both have pros and cons. The yellowish and blueish, greenish color is all observed more visible on the white color, and is only comparable if you put all unit side by side. The SPVA LCD, and one of the IPS LCD has blueish white color, maybe because our eye perceive blueish color is a better white color (much like the current gen LED LCD back lit), which is, maybe better to the eye as a more accurate white. So, most people like blueish white color. Another IPS LCD screen has noticeable "yellowish" white if compared to the other LCD. In a more professional context, those actually are native color temperature of the LCD. The "yellowish" color actually is considered a "warm white", while the "blueish" color is considered the "cold white". So, it is depend on personal preference. Maybe someone that already get used to "blueish" white will complain on the "yellowish" white color. As for the AMOLED, it has a "greenish" white color, probably due to the PenTile display has more green color sub pixel LED. Of one of the device with LCD, actually is ASUS made Fonepad, which has a default "blueish" white color, without even tuning using the ASUS Splendid setting.

  • The pad speaker not just loud, but is a dual front facing speaker, like the one on HTC One (M7, M8, Boom Sound) Enjoy the front stereo speaker when watching movie.

  • May I know if Padfone S have any notification led?

  • Just change the WiFi channel of your wireless router.

  • there is no yellowish, Asus made comfortable screen, if you want more blue, you just go to the built-in app '' splendid'' and put the temperature of color for blue.

  • For 3DMARK Ice storm unlimited, you will get score higher than NOTE 4 !!!!! for half price !!!!! it is amazing

  • The pad bezel is just too large, because you will get the best speaker at all the sound of the station pad is very very clear and loud

  • Speaker quality is very good, if you also get the station, you will be very happy with the high clear sound.

  • I believe Padfone S is better for many reasons: 1- Camera is higher 13 for padfone while 8 for lg 2- Padfone have memory card slot but LG no ! In addition the CPU version of Padfone is newer of LG. Moreover, Padfone is cheaper of about 80$ and it can be extended to become a Tab by using the Padfone station.

  • compared to nexus 5, which perfomance is better?

  • but i saw the video review said theres nothing that called yellowish .. they said it has a nice decent ips screen ...

  • really? the quality is good but not loud enough?

  • It's true, the LCD screen overall color is yellowish if compare to other phone, especially white color. The screen also is not the brightest, but just enough bright (it's not dim) The speaker is just ok, not the loudest. The phone is of black gross plastic build. Overall the phone feel comfortable and solid in hand. At this price, this is the best you can get (much better than the ASUS own Zenfone 5/6). The phone is very powerful, on par with those high end phone. UI is smooth, game can load very fast. All high end graphic game can be played without noticeable frame drop. The phone also start up very quickly. The pad dock station is very heavy and bulky, and the pad bezel is just too large. If not adding the pad station, the phone alone is the best you can get at this price. It pack Qualcomm SnapDragon 801 processor and 2GB RAM , promise some of the smoothest experience. All in all, high end spec with low end price point. You won't find other phone even come close to this (even beating chinese brand phone). The only thing I complain about is the marketing of the phone is very poor. Seems less people know that this phone do exist in the market (all shop now pushing Oppo and Vivo smartphone, which is over priced compare to this phone) I strongly recommend for those who like to switch from iPhone to Android (price is even cheaper than Nexus 5).

  • i had a problem connecting to my wifi at home... i had try several time shuttin down n restart back can uhelp me?

  • i just had this phone yesterday..the battery life while playin games quite good...it can last for 4-5 hours gaming the camera is excellent but the battery is a bit problem cbause it drain so fast but im still workin to solve this problem

  • try to solve tht problem.... because my padfone s work just fine after install the latest versi0on

  • the sound quality is good but not too loud....

  • hi.. can anyone tell me about the speaker quality please ? is it good ? cuz i saw alot of people said that the spakr is not good at all ? please do tell me cuz ill buy this phone this month

  • No problems at all with asus splendid app The screen of phone is just amazing

  • Did you use the splendid app in you phone?

  • same problem. disable reading mode and put highest brightness. it just made screen bright but still yellowish. try compare to other phone and you will notice.

  • regret buying this phone. dim/yellowish screen and bad speaker.. not user friendly interface menu.

  • Well.... This smartphone phone is still new, so gsmarena should review it for it's performance. Smartphone with SnapDragon 801, which is one third of the price of reputable brand. It should be a good alternative for those who are in the budget. But, consider anything that is above SnapDragon S4 Pro, 600, 800, it should provide comparable performance.

  • it gives a little higher performance than S5 (about 42600) by Antutu 5, and it uses very comfortable screen and you can control the color temperature. it uses also Miracast instead of MHL. you will surprise by the clear and high speaker performance for the station. the annoyed things are: -the heavy weight of station+phone together. -there is no USB connection with your PC as mass storage when you use the station ( you can connect only the phone). - front camera quality drops to 5 MP only, when you use phone+station. according to Asus website : ''In compliance with IPX2 and drop test performed on a steel surface from up to 1.5m, this smartphone is protected against falling water and drops. Provided that the cover is firmly closed, the phone is (i) protected against water when tilted up to 15 degrees from all practicable directions for up to 10 minutes, water equivalent to 3mm of rainfall per minute in compliance with IPX2; and/or (ii) capable of resisting drops on a steel surface from up to 1.5m. Test is run three times at alternating heights, with impact testing on all sides of the device. All tests were performed on the smartphone only, not including PadFone S Station. Please note that the above information does not constitute as ASUS manufacturer warranty. Please refer to ASUS Warranty Information alone with your product for the detailed information''

  • Are you sure Oneplus One and Mi4 better? (Yes, based on spec and tech site review.) Oneplus one and Mi4 has no Micro SD card slot, so you are calling those better? Stuck with only with 16GB memory if you only buy the smaller memory? (Ok, I know, those come with 64GB version) But if 64GB version is not available in some region, so how to be said is good? (Some people can live with 16GB) XiaoMi phone may steal your personal info, giving to unknown people, do you call this phone a good phone? Or do you still trust this company? (Android=Google=you are not save no matter which android phone you choose to use.) Don't judge a phone just by your personal preference. I would say this phone performance is on par with those high end phone. (Agree, but at least we can read a lot of reviews first to at least get an idea on how the phone will behave) If you do not own the phone, please don't put negative comment. (People put negative comment iphone even when they don't have it, nothing difference here.)

  • Try turn off the reading mode.

  • i buy this phone yesterday..speaker sounds like garbage..when u play game omg u all will hate this..

  • i buy this phone yesterday..speaker sounds like garbage..when u play game omg u all will hate this..

  • After the latest version..my asus PadFone S can't use Google services..all about Google services are fail to sign in.. Google play store has stopped..unable to sign into Google services...

  • By referring to the original post, he only mention this phone pricing can beat XiaoMi and Oneplus One in term of comparable feature. He never mention the phone is better or what, but someone just judge that this phone is inferior to others. Than.... how about Samsung, Sony, HTC, LG? Do they make phone that is below par than chinese phone? I would said at least on par, but with higher pricing, and offer different type of feature. It is the pricing and performance game. It doesn't means pricier phone is better, or cheaper phone is worse. But competitive pricing is making the difference. At least the trend now is selling phone at mid range price, but offer similar high end feature.

  • The battery capacity is undersized which also seems to be the case with the zenfones. And its non-removable as well which is double bad.

  • You ALWAYS judge a phone by personal experience. It doesn't make sense to judge a phone by what other ppl are saying. Thats silly.

  • so,how long the battery can last?

  • Are you sure Oneplus One and Mi4 better? Oneplus one and Mi4 has no Micro SD card slot, so you are calling those better? Stuck with only with 16GB memory if you only buy the smaller memory? • one plus one and xiaomi mi4 more good and better

  • nope, wait until end of this year, asus indonesia will release it.

  • Bro... have you found where we can find and buy it in Indonesia?

  • Bro... have you found where we can find and buy it in Indonesia?

  • I bought original model and it works fine after 3 days and the battery lifespan is not bad either after non stop browsing on 4G LTE for 3 hours it only drained 20% - 25%. ( plus YouTube and FB.) photo quality fantastic, sound a bit less than my old phone but sound ok if you plug the earphones. video superb quality and screen touch is responsive. i say no lag so far.

  • Hey guys just bought this phone just amazing, its a bargain for its prize, better than the nexus 5 in terms of its camera. however i do have to warn u guys about the unavailabilty of accessories such as the bumper case, its very hard to find and even when you do they are very expensive. over all I am glad i bought this phone.... :)

  • hii i want your advise ithink iwoud buy this phone

  • soooooo buaitefulllllll & goood looook

  • Hai all. I want to buy this phone. It's beautifully priced too. Can anyone give a review on camera, battery and durability? Thanks

  • I'm not agree with super sharp lcd screen. The LCD screen is very dim and yellowish. It does not have enough contrast compare other fhd lcd screen like honor 6, lg g2. LCD DETAILS is very poor if compare side by side with the above phones. Very disappointed with the lcd quality. My honor 3c hd screen looks better than padfone s fhd screen.

  • From it's spec, it is more than enough for playing high graphic game. For sure, it support OTG. Indeed, all newer Android phone support OTG, even the cheaper one support OTG as well.

  • this phone better to play games and support otg or not ?

  • Need a review for this phone.

  • No i never opened using the USB. The USB contact board chipped in the corner, because the USB cord they provided had not be moulded properly. As their was a small moulding flaw, and there was a piece of the moulding on the inside of the USB cord where the contacts reside. Which I didn't notice until it chipped the phones internal USB connector. The biggest problem is living in New Zealand. ASUS refuse to do anything, because i supposedly broke it myself? While the seller on eBay wants be send the phone blind to taiwan and to devaluate the phone to USD$80 so they can receive it thought customs? This is where is gets real messy. Because let say it gets lost in the post? Who's liable? Me? I would just loose the phone and only get covered USD$80 which is not fair.

  • As usual, there may be quality issue on ASUS phone and tablet product. Up to your choice.

  • The phone alone is sell at Malaysia is only MYR 899 (much more cheaper than Xiao Mi Mi4, Oneplus One) The tablet dock 8.9" sold at MYR 499. (Full HD, dual front speaker, still lot more cheaper than comparable tablet, with 13MP camera, 2GB RAM, 4G LTE ADVANCE, NFC) This is just a steal price to beat other brand. The only verdict is non-removable battery at just mere 2300Mah, but the tablet dock do add battery of 5000Mah,which also will charge the phone, act as powerbank. Phone + Tablet at just MYR 1398, those who want to upgrade your phone and tablet, now is the time.

  • Is it dual sim?

  • You didn't use the USB port to open the unit did you? Once ever so slightly cracked (almost impossible to tell), the hardware USB connector comes loose in the plastic socket. I was warned about that when I bought the phone. Do not open the phone at the USB connector.

  • for malaysia it will announce today..get more info from asus malaysia...mybe the zenwatch also be introduce...

  • Anyone know the Sar rating? I really like this phone but need to know the SAR rating before purchasing it.

  • Purchased a PadFone S in August 2014. The USB port broke within 2 weeks, from only using the provided USB cord. Was a nice phone, just let down majorly by the very poor quality of parts used. Still trying to get it repaired ! As ASUS only covers phones in the country they where purchased from which was Taiwan :/ BUYER BEWARE!

  • I have one of these, with the tablet/dock. Bought it in Bangkok, Thailand. It must the be most under-rated setup in phone history. Super super sharp HD, and saturated contrast color so crisp it matches the new iPad Air2. The battery holds power far better than a normal Li-On. Extremely snappy in all respects. We have 12 phones (iPhones, Samsung Notes 2&3, HTC Windows, etc, and two Nexus 5s) also have 8 tablets (iPad Air, many androids including two Nexus 7 2013s) in our family here, and... everybody wants to play with this ASUS PadFone S. Amazing.

  • I'm thinking of buying iphone 6 plus but i came across with this tablet-phone duo.. I'm gonna get this tablet, it only cost half of iphone 6 plus price in my place.. Hehe

  • Worthy for money to get this phone. Better than iPhone6

  • ill get this phone!

  • See the Padfone X battery life at GSMArena, and you'll realise 2300 mAh is enough alr.

  • The price group for this is 250? Could you send a link about this? I can find this padfone in amazon from 500 and not 250.

  • Any more details...where can i buy!

  • launching in singapore today @ $399 singapore dollars. awaiting further information

  • If the battery can more or less keep up with the compeition, we have winner!

  • Heard it's be selling at S399 when launching, I guess this is the most affordable phone can be found in the market with Snapdragon 801 and FUll HD screen.

  • when can I buy Asus Fonepad S in Indonesia?

  • superb price, branded...LTE 4g, NFC, bluetooth 4.0, hotspot, expendablee memory, good clock speed(2.3ghz autofocus 13mp camera, weight is acceptable, high 441ppi sharp resolution , perfect screen 5 inci size...(asean can use in their tiny hand too) the cons is BATTERY..!!! 2300mh..??? so sad/ LOL..u should put 3000mh at least.. this will rock.

  • i dunnoe about this i ahd padfone 2 and was happy with the battery life until it had the zen ui.... the battery life is really bad.

  • specs is super tip-top but the battery is horrible .. asus should take note for the battery ..

  • The only difference I can find with this device is the chipset itself. its a tad bit better, but from what I heard from the Padfone X it can short circut itself and fry its modem. Now I hope this does not have such a problem and it looks like there isn't for this model.

  • I have one, if you keep playing games, it can only last for 6 hours.

  • My only worries are the battery.can it even last a day of usage

  • 2300 battery for full hd display and 4g?? horrible..

  • Asus it's great smartphone, only need is contained LTPS screen

  • does the display-docs sold separately? or should i buy it in package?

  • pls sold the additional items as taiwan too!

  • The phone comes with a tablet that is powered by the phone itself. The tablet acts like a docking station that basically projects the phone into a 10 inch screen.

  • Help me understand what you meant by "insert the phone into the tablet"

  • Hi,I am a PadFone 2 user, also interested in PadFone S. I had confirmed with Asus Malaysia. PadFone S will be released in Malaysia but the date and price still not yet determined. Asus Fone is innovation but the quality for the first batch is usually problematic. My word of advice: buy it a few months after released.

  • I've had mine for a couple of weeks now. AT&T is the provider. Cost for the phone and tablet was, indeed, $199. You can also purchase it for prepaid use for $549. So far, excellent. The only issue I had was when I would insert the phone into the tablet with the swipe to unlock feature on, it would freak out and require I reboot. Turn off the swipe to unlock...no problems (although I do, now, accidentally pocket dial people from time to time). This is likely a simple software fix I hope to see from Asus soon. Call quality is excellent. The phone is extremely fast. Even the tablet is very fast with the phone inserted (its a dumb screen without the phone). Screen quality is outstanding. Best of all my devices (which includes iPad rentia and Asus Nexus 7 2nd gen). I'll likely sell these off now. Camera quality is also excellent. The software is easy to use and captures great pictures and video. The ability to shoot up to 100 pictures, very rapidly, is a blast. Good battery life (not crazy good though...I have not problem getting through the day, but you'll definitely need to charge up every night). I've been waiting for this form factor for years and this is it. The only thing I would change is to make the tablet screen bigger (its still good at 9 inches) and make it thinner with the phone inserted (I know...that's a tough one...betcha they get there in a few years though). I give it an 8.5 - 9 out of 10.

  • Is it going to be $199USD? What about Malaysia? Probably the price is not gonna be the same. Does it work smoothly? Please people, tell me. Is it even gonna be available here in Malaysia, knowing that it's AT&T? And if it will be, will the price be the same? What would it be, then? Where can I get it from?

  • Very clever choice, but if it has the same battery life as padfone infinity, lets go for something else...every 2-3 hours it needs charging !!!

  • Does the Padfone S have the same LTE chip and cellular bands as the Padfone X? Will the Padfone S work in the US on AT&T? It really needs 3GB of RAM and at least 32GB of storage (the SD Card is mostly worthless with the changes in KitKat), but I think I could live with the Padfone S since it doesn't have all the bloatware that AT&T adds to the system!

  • Available as Asus PadFone X for AT&T

  • What the different between padfone s and padfone x? Will both release in Singapore? Where can I get it?

  • I currently work for corporate Att and I do use this on a daily Basis. the battery seems to be fine.the tablet itself has a battery that charges the phone while you're using it which also makes it really convenient. it runs just as smooth as my Samsung Note 3.my only downfall for this device is there is a very very slight lag On the tablet when playing action games.

  • Well, tablet usability aside the entry for the padfone X is a little late. Think Nexus,S5,HTC m8, 1+1 to name a few. Skipping Asus models for now, until they sort out their after sales support I will not be recommending any of their phones. Ex-padfone 2 user.

  • Finally a decent tablet phone. The only thing is it would be nicer if it was an 8 inch tablet instead of 9 and in a all in one device so it doesn't have to be that heavy. Shame on Samsung, because this year it finally added high end screan and LTE to its tablets but disabled GSM calls!

  • Well.. it'll be nice if this Phone battery is at least 3000 mAh and the tablet size is 8" not 9"

  • Very nice and practical device... Hope this will be available worldwide becoz here in kuwait i cant find..

  • Leave Him out of this, He would settle for the current spec........

  • Why not 32GB internal storage and 3GB of RAM? Jesus Christ... Not buying!

  • Its the same phone as the infinity. Since this has the ATT branding they had to change the name for marketing so the carrier can stay exclusive.

  • It's clocked at 2.3GHz, it also comes with Kitkat instead of Jelly Bean on the Infinity 2, that's probably why the infinity 2 firmware upgrade has been moved to Q3 rather than Q2 like the other padfone devices...

  • it's long ch in India

  • Looks good, much better than the other releases from ASUS might pick it up.

  • i dont c any diff compared with infinity 2

  • i would like it if it was dual sim but other wise it looks great so far now 4 a review

  • For all "pro" writers here... Li-Po battery is BETTER than Li-Ion... So NO i wouldn't want it to have Li-Ion

  • 2300mAh battery is not upto that mark for such high end feature phone. Atleast it should be 3000 mAh.

  • it would be good if - 1-dual sim 2-thickness about 8mm 3-li-ion batteri 4-frame make like samsung

  • would be much better if the battery around 2700-3000mah

  • very good

  • looks like a complete package. if priced correctly. ..could be a smash hit
