Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML - User Reviews

  • Best phone I had so far, plain and simple. Had it for 4 years now (while having at the same time 2 generation of iPhones as secondary phones) and even the battery still works great and gives almost a full day. It’s a shame that Android phones are soooo bad at OS updates. Google+Builders+Carriers should be forced to give further support, if just for security reasons, Apple outranks you badly on that front. Having that said, ASUS rocks!, great manufacturer/designer overall (coming from and IT guy).

  • After many years of great service from this phone (at least no Freeze and Auto Restart like SAMSUNG ) From my hand to my 6yrs old daughter ownership. It finally RETIRED on Sept 11 2019. Not bad. Next month I will pass her my Oppo R9s which is 99.8% like new. Now surveying the best budget phone with 710 chipset.

  • My problem is that I can't turn my phone off. Every time when I tray to turn it off it starts again. It does't matter if I use power button or double click on the screen.

  • My problem is that I can't turn my phone off. Every time when I tray to turn it off it starts again. It does't matter if I use power button or double click on the screen.

  • The phone is OK to me, but my major problem is the issues of battery. I use to change the battery but unfortunately I loss the phone completely in the process. I only own it's scrapped now.

  • I have using this phone about 3 yrs, and only 1 time i replacing the battery. Overall, this is a good phone. But i am not recommended for gaming because it's draining fast (MLBB/PUBG/Free Fire), only 3 hrs than you got 0%. Compare to samsung A50 (i just bought it), zenfone 2 has better sound performance (speaker & headset). No more issue for my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML.

  • zen ui laucher is a home launcher u cant delete it because your are using but most of the zen apps are useless i bet u can delete some of them i think

  • I'm very happy with this phone. Browsing or streaming is flawless. I have been using it for almost 4yrs now, very easy to DIY in case of issues. I have replaced the screen 3 times, all by myself. I have replaced the speaker twice, the SIM card holder twice. All the parts are cheaply available on Aliexpress. The battery is still holding charge reasonably. My model is 4g ram 64gb rom. There's is slight overheating though. I have just ordered for zenfone max pro m2, just as a backup to my zenfone2 551ml. ASUS is great

  • Phone is hang over after 3 month. my side this phone is bad feature. i will never buy Asus Phone.

  • So long to this awful phone! My ASUS Zenfone 2 bricked after about 3 years out of nowhere, while on charge and after being restarted. It gave me issues after a week I bought it. Had to have it serviced after a week because the SIM slot apparently was messed up and was not recognizing the SIM card (the SIM card slot kept giving me issues anyway, every way too often the SIM card would displace itself inside the slot having to re-insert it, losing connectivity in moments where I needed to stay connected). The plus are the good interface, the easy possibility to work with firmware updates and the audio/screen features. What is terrible? SIM slot that doesn't hold the card properly, Battery life that decreased veeeeery quickly, sometimes it froze for no reason, while on charge and activity you could basicaly grill a steak on the back from how hot it gets, the back battery shell is basically made of Play-Do. I basically hoped for a long time to have a reason to change my phone, I finally had it. Apparently, this was a terrible model for ASUS as a lot of people had pretty much all the same issues as mine.

  • My experience with this phone is less than 6 months. I use this phone only on WiFi as a second phone for browsing and music. It has a very good and fast performance but it's main problem is battery life. Battery drain indeed fast because of the strong processor and heating. It's lollipop version which I could not update and my zenui didn't update at all. Generally it can be only a good phone for browsing as a phablet nothing more.

  • Have this phone for a month now, and I like it very much but.... What I do not like is the so-called support.... I have several questions about the installed software/bloatware and there is simply no way to get any answers to questions about that. It takes a lot of time to get all the numbers they want and when I put them in, I am told it does not exist! I check again, type it in and again the same nonsense... the number is definately correct! When I put ín: place of residence, its Tokyo right now, and what happens, the language changes to japanese! Does any of you speak japanese?. So why should I? Is there a place other than ASUS where I can get Info about the phone? THere is ASUS Cover, ASUSServices, ASUS Support,ASUS System webview, ASUS Zen UI, ASUS Zen UI Sevices, ZEN Choice, ZEN Circle a.s.o. a.s.o. Where can I find info what that all is, and why I should keep it? I have disabled notifications, why do I still get constant notifications that I should update Google Play? and Google Store? What is Zen Choie, what do I need it for? What is then ZenUI launcher? Do I need it? Can I delete it? Thanks, give me a hint WHERE to ask, so I actually get an answer to the question I am asking.... Ross

  • Had this phone since it was first available in a 64GB version. I droped it in water and the system board was replaced. That was over three years ago and it has been a good phone for the price and the features. It does have some heating problems and occasionally the screen freezes but can be unfrozen just by pressing the power button off and on. The glass is still scratch free and it charges with a quick charger in an hour. Would like to have had a removable battery but it has provided lots of functionality for a low cost. Perfect pictures every time. I put a 64GB memory card and can watch movies, mp3 files and the sound/video are both incredible! Quite happy this phone has lasted for nearly 4 years!

  • massive thermal issues, phone has burnt plastic smells when under heavy load.

  • root it to lineage OS :) android 7

  • The worst investment I had. After 18 months of normal usage everything slowed down, upon recharging for a few minutes it freezes, can’t do anything with it. At the end it pissed me off so much that I break it into two pieces with my hands. Asus and mobile phones do not work! Never again.

  • I still use this phone. The screen is cracked but impressively it's so smooth even though it's 2 years old since i bought this. But sadly it's stuck in Marshmallow.

  • I still have this phone. The battery is starting to fail. Overall it was a great phone. I'll get another Asus to replace it.

  • i had bought the phone somewhere around the beginning of 2016, the only real problem i've encountered (even though my screen cracked within 7 months of usage) was the heating up from high stress activity. The phone did well in its intended purpouse for a good chunk of 2 years but the last 3 months of 2018 made the phone virtually inusable, as the screen stopped responding to image change (except for greater gradients of white forcing the loading of a section directly under them;), bottom to the top, section by section giving out a negative image of the last properly loaded visual or just plain black spot; making the typing and breaking of alarms impossible if not for muscle memory. 7/10 - my temporary xperia E3 outlasted it.

  • messenger from Facebook is not working anymore for this Phone :(

  • Not bi good company

  • please help how to fix the main speaker of my phone

  • I have mine set to double tap the screen. You just double tap to wake it up, and double tap to lock it. Much easier than using the power button.

  • This is my experience also. Really loved this phone at first. But the GPS has become a real problem, and I am just over a year of use. If it struggles to get GPS or Cell signal for too long, that triggers the reboots. On my commute to work and back there are two spots where the signal drops for long enough to trigger the reboot. The only way to stop those is to put it in airplane mode while travelling. It served me well and was very cheap, but had the phone not had all these issues making it deteriorate I would have still kept it in stead of upgrading. It handled games well and everything. But then at some point it developed what look like burns on the right side of the LCD, I assume from the aerial inside. That happened at about 6 months of use, then eventually after another 6 months there are these burn marks on the left side too. Like a straight yellow line on the LCD on each side. The performance of the phone still seems to be the same as when it was new. But these little deteriorations. The battery is nothing what it used to be. It can drain from 100% to 20% in an hour of use. Then about a month ago, I guess the sim card reader is also mailfunctioning. As it is sitting on my desk right now, every ten minutes, without any use, suddenly it says no sim card in phone. Then it goes away as it finds the sim card again. If you need a decently powered cellphone for a very short time, like in between contracts or something, it could work. As a powerful but temporary phone. But for anything long term, looking at the comments it seems like this phone just doesn't have any endurance.

  • Not a bad phone. I really liked that it includes a memory card slot and dual SIM. But after a hear of use, it started to intermittently drop GPS, so while Location was turned on, it had no idea where it was. Then it dropped GPS entirely and started randomly rebooting ... and battery life has dropped tremendously, and this unit has a non-removable battery (unless you're very adventurous). Given that it's stuck at Android 6, and support has been dropped in LineageOS, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. This has turned into a lemon.

  • The screen blackout seems to be a common issue for Zenfone 2. I have 2 of these phone in my family, and both of them suffer the exact same screen issue. Luckily, both of them happened within the warranty period, so I had both of them replaced via ASUS service center in Toronto. Their service is quick, I got them both replaced within 3 working days. After replacement, the screen is fine for 2 years now.

  • Marshmallow vs Lollipop Pros and Cons Should I upgrade I can read there som problem with camera after upgrade. Please write how long you try it. My phone is from april 2015 and have only got at new battery recently mostly no problem. If some will be so helpful to make op my mind, please

  • After 1 year, the phone started to suddenly blacks out. I tried to turn on and during the boot it blacks out again. Battery replaced and the issue continues. After the first repair service, Asus Center refuses to help me. Worst phone and service ever for me.

  • My wife & I each have the 2.3GHz intel & 4GB memory.. all works fine with the phablets except 1 issue we cam across. Imo Asus makes a top notch phone but I will give the advice to buy the magnetic cover/case with the circle on the front made for this device. It will allow you to put the phone in sleep mode when the cover is closed. If you don't have that type of case then you will have to use the power button to wake the phone but that button will stop working due to overuse (the actual component). Then you will have to repair the phone, buy a new one or do a pain in the butt trick buy unplugging the battery plug it back in and press 3 front buttons at once to boot it up. Bottom line: If you buy the phone buy the magnetic case that operates the sleep function.

  • After 3years my problem is some time message not able to display...

  • i have been using this phone for 3 years now. problems that i encountered: - after a year, the screen display only shows 1/3 of it, had it repaired. - not compatible with some micro sd cards that i bought. - you can only use SIM 1 for Data/Internet Connection. - it gets very hot when using Data/Internet. - i'm having trouble powering on the phone because the power button (on back case) is NOT properly aligned with the switch within the Phone. I do not recommend buying this one.

  • no just SIM 1

  • Great short term phone, but you will start having problems within 6 months and it will be practically useless in a year unless you know how to fix it yourself

  • just flash lineage os based on android 7.1 and thsi device will be good to go...it will add another year or two for the device life...

  • are this phone have DUAL 4G fiture?

  • Phone was great. Kinda Have taken it apart at least 25 times and screws worn out. Issues I have had Cons 1. 2 LCD Died of the lines across screen (4 additional replacement screens due to falling off a bed and hitting bed post and cracking) 2. Flex Cable broke 3. Sim card reading issues before and after flex cable 4. USB Port died 5. Reception not great 6. All parts are cheap aftermarket. Cant seem to get OEM 7. Phone finally died. Wouldnt start again. Changed batteries and nope. 8. Rear camera ok in sunlight or well lighted areas, absolute crap in lowlight or dark. 9. Front camera not great Pros 1. Zenui I miss it. 2. Camera modes/scenes i miss 3. Quirky phone

  • For fast charging use Qualcomm fast chargers. Google it

  • isnt every phone is like that? there's a sensor in the upperleft of the phone that detects when your ear is close to thephone, it will turn ur screen black

  • Hold Volume Up button and press Start button together for 7-10 seconds (If Volume Up button doesn't work, try Volume Down button with Start). Phone will restart. This happens when phone crashed and needs to reboot in safe mode.

  • I've been using this phone since 2015. I used to play games a lot when I first bought it. Nowadays I just use it to call my friends and watch youtube videos. It's a good phone but it has a lot of problems. Here is some of them: -SIM card reader had to be repaired at least 5 times. -Gets really hot when playing heavy games like Asphalt 8 or GTA San Andreas -Plastic shell changes color and cracks due to heat -At some point it started turning off while in my pocket. It wouldn't turn on for 4-5 hours so I had to get it repaired again. -Sometimes screen starts flickering but it goes away when I restart the phone. Good sides: The performance is good and the camera is pretty good. It can take great photos in dark places. Would I buy this phone again? No I don't think so. I would probably get a Motorola phone or maybe a Nokia phone. Or maybe a second hand Google Pixel.

  • the phone is preety decent for money but not so good..mine has problem with sim card reader and charging issue...once is needing update the phone it become useless after a while

  • I Bought a new model phone from Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551M & when i try to switch on the phone it was not getting on. kindly provide guidlines immediately.

  • in my opinion, This phone has many features, unique ones really. the battery is kind of shitty, but charge really fast (60% in less than 30 mins), the camera is also decent, not good, not bad though.. the performance is fascinating I think, although it heats up pretty fast when losing signals or playing games (PUBG, Asphalt 8). Overall, this is a nice phone, I've been using it for like 2 years, no problem occurs to me..

  • I have issues with screen flickering. I tried to reset (BIOS way) but I couldn't. Any help??

  • The phone has lasted over 3 years without screen broken or anything big, the battery still lasts but better to swap it. Phone lasts but very expensive as well.

  • I am using this phone for close to 3 years now. A powerful performance device with worst build quality, and poor screen. It has never lagged, got hung a few times due to network(data) unavailability. It heats up real quick if you are playing online or heavy offline games. After 2 years Battery performance goes down significantly low. ASUS has already stopped providing updates for this model. There is Lineage OS available for this model. I would recommend using that for better life of the phone. The Build Quality is worst though. The Screen is not as good as expected, and Camera does not seem to perform well under low light conditions.

  • can u give me the link update

  • Great phone ! Highly recommend, based on my own experience. Had it for three years now, and it has never failed me. The only thing I would change is the plastic body - my next phone will definitely be an ASUS , with a metal shell.

  • Lasted 2 years with me. It has a great performance for its price but the durability of its part is questionable. 1st, the front cam stopped working, 2nd the power button plastic chipped off, and 3rd, the charger doesn't charge the phone properly.

  • I've tried my friend's Samsung S7 charger and it charged really fast compared to my generic charger that I bought from a local store

  • Do not recommend. After 1 year it stopped working. The phone turns itself off in out of the blue. Low durability for its price. However it has a great performance in its processor, depending on what you use the phone for.

  • What do you think is the best and fast charger for zenfone.

  • I had mine for over 2 years. No problems at all. Great cell phone for a very reasonable. Depending on the use, battery can last up to 3 days which is a lot more than many other (More expensive) phones. Unlike many others, it has dual SIM and a dedicated memory card slot (Which means that you can use 2 different lines AND a microSD at the same time. Many will share the slot between second line and memory card). Android customizations are great (Unlike LG for example). It includes many useful proprietary Apps. I'd choose this phone over my company-supplied LG G5 (Unusable without a Drawer-App) every time. I spilled water on it (Several times actually) and never had any problem. Complains about it are ridiculous. If you can't keep your cell phone out of the toiled, the problem is not the cell phone...

  • I have my Zenfone 2 since february 2016, and it's still working as charm... Don't blame ASUS or Zenfone 2 for your particular problem...

  • this phone sucks... i'm very careful with my phone for more than a year i don't even drop it or even spill water on it. just this afternoon. my phone got problem with the lcd. i can hardly read the txt or letter. ASUS your sucks!!! never buy this phone again...

  • A decent phone for the price. Battery will last all day if you are not a rabid user. Volume button placement was annoying. Not water replant, at all. Baby slobbered a bit on the phone & it started being wonky. Decent as a teens phone or back up since its now 3 years old.

  • Never never buy it. My zenfon2 was broken. I could not get it repaired even by paying. Mainboard is very bad

  • You can do that...just go to Asus office website and you'll have a list of all firmwares for Asus Zenfone 2 ze551ml...there you'll find a download link..but the process is a bit complicated because you'll have to connect to a PC...search on YouTube..many vids are there!

  • A very good phone for the price, volume control a little awkward.

  • you got proximity sensor problem, if you still have warranty, you can take it to service center for replacing the proximity or they can replace with new mainboard.

  • Most problem in Zen2 was ghost touch, if you still have warranty, you can claim for repair.

  • Great UI, very flexible UI, apps and features for work with a great multitasking... tough for work, i use it for 3 years.... :) i love it...

  • You are absolutely right about ghost touch's problem make me mad.

  • The ASUS ZenFone 2 is not updated to marshmallow and no one version This Music app show unfortunately Music has stopped. This problem in ASUS ZenFone 2

  • That's how proximity sensor works. When you put the phone next to your ears, screen automatically goes black. But after you take away from your ears back, it will turned on back. But if it doesn't, your proximity sensor is the problem.

  • Same problem here

  • yes, mine too after 2 years more in use, NFC doesn't work any more

  • Using it for 1 year 3 months, now proximity sensor not working properly, anyone have same problems?

  • I love my Zenfone 2, camera is pretty good but got worse after some updates included Marshmallow. But after downgrade to Lollipop, camera remains worse, so it's not about Android version that crashes the camera. Any help to improve the camera like from early used? Any help?

  • It is like that, some other phone (non Asus) also like that, it's not an error or problem

  • Can someone tell me how to downgrade to Lollipop? Camera got worse on Marshmallow.

  • Does your Zen2 screen go black when you put it to your ear to answer a call...its very frustrating and I cannot find answers to fix this problem..Thankyhou

  • Thankyou..I hope you can find something that will fix it

  • Ok.. Right now the price is going down.. But the specs performance still same as the high price when it release(2015) for 2015 its a powerful phone. Dont expect it more power than newer flagship

  • Mine is doing the same... Not sure why...Will look into settings and get back if I have an answer.

  • Love the Zenfone 2.ZE551ML...but why when I answer a call the screen goes black...then have difficulty turning it back on..anyone with the same problem ..plase help

  • Good processor phone, almost never lag when open large games or files, camera when first bought it is ok then 2 years later become worse, battery is the main problem about this phone

  • asus zenfone 2 ZOO_AD inbuilt memory is 128GB.call is not responding.Wait one hour to call. Some times I feel I through hardly to floor.

  • I won't buy any asus phone anymore. At first I like it, although it's a bit heavy, but at least it's running perfectly. Well, after a year when my warranty is expired, the ghost touch giving me headache everyday. Once, I made a phone call and this phone hit the end call by its own. The phone become so slow and battery life is so bad. OMG. Yet I still feel lucky, at least my asus survived for more than a year, so I can save money to buy a real phone. My friend's only survived 3 months before it became so slow and made him crazy.

  • It is not the best ever, but reliable one, and cheap one also. I found it smart, with FHD display, bright and clear, it is interesting feature. The camera is pretty good in his class. But the sound is bad point, not dts or dolby pleasant. With 4gb ram , if you may make same some root move, this gadget is awesome thing. Bloatware is minimum rather than other product. it is true the battery drains fast, no wonder with display quality and good ratio density colour up to 401 ppi. If you want to buy entry level phone compareable with nowadays technology phone, you'll find this gadget no shame, especially if you manage this phone in use time about 2 years using. Not a gamer phone dedicated, but, nonetheless you'll find amusement with it in medium expectation.

  • Don't buy it. Screen flickering problem is a huge headache. And ASUS is not responding

  • my asus zenphone 2e zood only sows white scren with att simble when powered up

  • how do you upgrade 6.1.1????

  • My Zen 2 going dead. Its screen flashing random and becoming white when tuch on the screen. Pls. help me by providing best to do

  • My Zen 2 going dead. Its screen flashing random and becoming white when tuch on the screen. Pls. help me by providing best to do

  • Never had any problem with it. I'm using a ZF2 for 2 years and its the best low-tier phone i ever had. I recommend it for everyone, specially nowadays where you can find one very cheap.

  • Camera got worser and worser as they getting older. I don't know but first time when I tried the camera when early bought it, it was pretty acceptable but now, from Lollipop to Marshmallow and now my phone is 1 year old on December 2017, camera is the worst I have ever used, camera quality is very bad though takes on daylight.

  • Final Lollipop for the best perform z2..

  • I agree with you 100% I don't recommend zenfone 2, The screen ghost is driving me crazy. it also freezes frequently.

  • Yep. Better stick which its original version Android and user interface to avoid your phone act abnormally. I own 2 Zenfone 2 and try update the second one. And I found that after updating, the phone is not as fun as the original version. Just update the 3rd party app like WhatsApp, Installed games or YouTube only. Many people think I'm stupid because buying multiple of this phone but I'm happy because now I have lots of knowledge and experience in smartphone world

  • The phone is pretty reliable even its not perfect. If you look at the spec, It is the 1st smartphone with 4 gb of ram and the ram management is very good. It also provide a lot of storage and even give us option to expand it with micro sd card slot in dedicated position without sacrificing dual sim abilities. I also own samsung note FE this year in 2018 but I love more on Zenfone 2 user interface which is much user friendly.Besides the audio quality with earpiece is much more kicking with ZenFone 2. The downside of Zenfone 2 are the camera is not too good, micro sd card cannot pulled out, the speaker is awfull, and the sim sometimes disable temporarily.

  • what? mine is still functioning from day 1 until now, the problem that exists is the screen having ghost touch after 1 year of hard usage, replaced it and now I'm still using this phone

  • Hi .. Charging is there ... That charger is capable for 6 or 10 months after that need to change and other brand charger is unable to use... Thanks...

  • I have many ASUS product like Zenfone 4C, ZE500KG, ZD551KL. They all over a year usage and still functioning perfectly until today as I wrote this. I intend to buy more ASUS

  • I had a truma with all asus phone because of this. I have Asus zenfone 2 (4GB RAM 64GB storage) After 1 month of purchase the touch screen got flicker. I send it to asus and was replaced; it was still on warranty. It took them 3 weeks to give my phone back. Then after 3 months SIM slot 1 not detecting. This is the only SIM slot with LTE. Again, it was replaced by Asus. This time the lead time was 4 weeks. I purchased Oneplus phone as a "supposed" temporary replacement. I can't wait 1 month not having a phone to use. I did not use the ASUS phone since then. I'm a tech guy. Everytime someone asks me if Asus Phone is good. I just told them what happened. And this Asus phone did not last a year. I regret buying. To all reading this.. AVOID this phone! Search google! there are a lot of people disappointed with this.

  • a great phone with its pros and cons. mine died last week after i dropped it on the floor. tysm for your service for the past 2 years and 8 months. i've since bought Note FE for $560 and couldnt be happier with my new device.

  • how to update marshmallow to nougat manually?

  • This is the worst phone I have ever had, and I thought my previous one was bad. I have had it for 2 years and I constantly had problems with the screen flickering. Then a month after the expiration of my warranty my phone started restarting itself, constantly thinking i was randomly touching the screen like a lunatic and I decided to change to Lineage OS because I thought that was a software problem. After I changed my phone with Lineage OS my speaker started to sound very crappy and I bought another one and changed it. Well I finally thought everything was OK, that it was finally back to how it used to be, but no it decided that it wont detect my front camera AT ALL. Oh and I forgot the mention the screen still flickers, the touch is still thinking I am clicking when I am not, and phone hasn't stopped restarting (oh and one more thing it even says that I'm not using a supported power brick and cable when I am using the ones that came in the box). I have not been so mad at any phone until now, it really makes me want to throw it from the window from my apartment (I live at the 7th floor so it would look so beautiful to see how it breaks). And don't get me started on the "frequent" and "good" updates that ASUS had released for this phone. Instead of fixing some things they bring more bugs to their OS, like bluetooth randomly and even had the nerves to put even more bloatware into the OS. ASUS, please, do not make any more phones. 1/10.

  • after 2 and a half years of using this phone: - did pretty decent on its first year - battery life is always poor, 3 hrs of gaming and kaput, or 3 hrs driving with H+ and GPS, kaput - game performance quite laggy on higher end games - touchscreen starting to fail me, has random presses already not a recommended buy!

  • exactlly

  • It is the best phone.I like it very much.I think if you use it,you like it very much

  • Negatives: Useless phone. Doesn't detect 2nd SIM often. Battery drains fast. No VoLTE support. No more system upgrade. Speaker volume is very low. Always it hangs. Tired now from ASUS products. Positives: 4gb ram, super fast processor. 5.5 good display, good GPU. Good rear camera. Overall don't buy asus phones.

  • If you want to upgrade to Marshmallow, here's direct link: INSTRUCTIONS: 1. To update your device, copy the firmware zip file to your internal storage. (DO NOT extract the file) 2. Reboot and/or wait for the system update notification to appear 3. Make sure that your battery life is above 80%, click the update notification and then update your phone.

  • Gosh!! Been experiencing the same thing. How did you manage to solve it please? I'm getting worried that my SIM card might be corrupted.

  • You should be careful with rooting it lol Not asus fault you failed something and brick it.

  • How did you upgrade to 6.1.1? My latest is 6.0.1

  • The worst phone ever created, cannot even format the phone even after follow standard procedure to restore factory setting and also didn't even have a decent tool incase u are facing soft or hard brick. No more asus product for me. The forum also didn't help much since admin didn't bother to even read user comment about thier product. Don't bother buying this phone or u will be facing the same problem as me.

  • how to upgrade

  • It's 2 years to the date that I bought my Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. The first year was fine but I do agree that the phone's display is drastically reduced when outdoors. After the first year, that's when everything started to happen. The phone would heat up where you could use it to iron your clothes. Screen would flicker. Charging became an issue as even the charger provided by ASUS did not work. Now, the phone is my desk drawer because despite having it plugged in for 12 hours, it still wouldn't want to turn on.

  • which phone is better between NOKIA 5 and ASUS Zenfone 2 ZE551ML regarding to charging, battery, camera, touch, resolution, processor performance.

  • NO GOOD I bought Asus Zenfone2 from Qatar hooping Complex 3 months ago. This phone video call not clear , speacker vibration and heating . from today speacker not working.

  • I had a issue with mine as well. I had changed my son thinking it was that but turned out the Sim was coming out a little. Put a little tape to keep it in place then all was well.

  • My husband and myself both bought the same phone and his went at a year and a half and now mine at just under 2 years is facing the same mind of it own ghost screen and the bottom of our phones has a inch(his was half the screen) where it's flickering and the screen is messed up. There are times where I can't even use the phone because it is taken over. No rhyme or reason when it happens, then it does it's dance and back to normal minus the screen at the bottom. Zenfone2 551 Asus_Z00AD

  • I have that issue and didn't replace it.

  • Its a great phone. Best money can buy. The battery is great when upgrade to 6.1.1.

  • It's been a year now and I regret buying this phone. The battery is a joke, the intel processor is not compatible with the OS so it drains the battery too fast. I have to recharge this damn phone at least three times a day, and I don't even play games, just read a lot. The brightness of the screen is so bad it's impossible to use this phone in the outside during daytime, it always feels like you should be able to make it more bright. Now my phone is actually shutting off itself and I've found many people with the same problem. Apparently this phone also has a lame motherboard. Never buying an ASUS product again.

  • Any one facing ghost touch issues after replacing touch screen in your Zenfone 2?

  • The SIM card slot is a problem. The spring loaded locking mechanism stops making reliable contact with the SIM card. Switched to slot 2 and the same thing started to happen after 2- 3 months. Whats worse is the SIM card itself became corrupt after constant mis contacting from the SIM holder. The design of the SIM card holder needs to be improved.

  • Does anyone else's phone also not charge normally with other chargers except the fast charger provided by asus, takes an entire night to charge to 100% which takes only about 2 hours with my asus charger? Also should I manually download and update the phone to marshmallow/nougat(if available) or will it cause any problems considering I haven't received an auto update from them.

  • Too much bloodware!!

  • I still using this phone for almost 2 years now, but my first year using this phone the touch sensor malfunctioned and i need to bring it to customer service in BGC to replace, it was replaced but after a month i still have the same problem with addition of it lags alot. If you buy mid range phones you need to chenge after 2 year its my own assessment just to keep in touch with the technology.

  • In all likelihood this was a problem with the touchscreen. Replace it and you're good to go, maybe for years. This type of issue can happen with any phone.

  • guys, keep the OS updated regularly. this should solve some of your problems. My Zenfone 2 still performing well.

  • I had this phone for sometime now and i must say it's great. In 2017 this phone is still pretty snappy. Call quality is good, sound is good and it doesn't lag with games. The only things that are cons are the battery life, and video camera. All in all for a 2015 phone this is a great budget phone that is still holding its own in 2017.

  • Stupid phone! Only had it for 6 months last 2016 until the GHOSTTOUCH issue appeared. Useless!!! Will never buy an Asus again.

  • Worst f&cking phone i ever had. I've used it for 2 year and it has ghost touch, battery problem, and many more. I see lag too when gaming (NBA LIVE) i must buy a china phone not a taiwan phone

  • Great phone,, i test it on the water, and nothings happen, it works properly,. I love it

  • Regret to buy this phone. Ghost touch n battery problem..

  • This is my last day using the zf2. I love it. But the microUSB port starts to suck, I must change it. The roundness of the back is something I will miss since it fits perfectly with the hand.

  • This is one of the best phones I've ever had. No lagging whatsoever, good battery. It only has one huge problem - the SIM card slot. I already replaced it twice within 1 year and it got f****d again. Hopefully newer versions of Asus phones have this issue covered...

  • Yes, really good phone. Used it since early released and it good phone. But I regret replacing it with my Xperia M5, just using about 4 months and it lags like hell. And getting back using it until now it's almost perfect, just not good at gaming, but it's fast on opening apps and for daily usage.

  • The ASUS Zenfone 2 is one of the best phones I've ever had. Excellent pix & video quality, great battery life, great reception, the 4GB RAM is great and very fast, and the 64GB internal memory is all I really need, but I still use a SD card to store my pix and videos on. I bought the phone used and had to replace the SIM/SD card tray, but that was only a few dollars and 1/2 an hours time. (not reading the first SIM card consistently). I prefer this phone over the later ASUS Zenfones because I have a dedicated SD card slot, and I can still use 2 SIM cards, which is the main advantage to me with this type of phone. The later versions require the SD card to use the 2nd SIM slot, which kinda defeats the idea of a dual SIM phone. I recommend this phone to anyone who likes great pix and videos, and a sturdy trustworthy cell phone that meets everyday needs.

  • Used this phone since release and I have to say it's definitely a decent product for the price. I never had glitches with this phone despite what some have mentioned. Have changed from this to the Zenfone4 recently. A good upgrade

  • I just bought this phone in the last 7 months. many problems arise .. sincard problem is not dettect, battery problem is bad .. too bad

  • Everything is good but After 1 year, my phone has ghost touch, and I regret of buying this phone.

  • Do not buy this rubbish phone. This is a trap. ASUS you own me your explanation. The LCD is the worse part of this phone. Flickering, glitching, all the worse thing that you can imagine for an LCD are here. Thanks for your tech hole ASUS.. next time, make sure that your research's budget is bigger than your marketing budget.

  • I bought this mobile from Jumbo electronic Litex offer, really I m very sad about this , because 3000 MaH battery , even 1 hour also not standing this , the sales girl was by heart how to sell , they never learn , what is the drawbacks , But I am using last 2 years apple iPhone, its my pride , a wonderful in the world

  • Don't buy this phone. Terrible ghost touch problem will occur after 8 months of using. Terrible product from Asus. Almost most of the user facing the same issue. You guys can check in asus website. Even Asus doesn't have answer for the problem by simply ask to replace the LCD. Worst phone ever...

  • Have been using it since 2013. I am a bad user, always dropped my phone everywhere, on road, on table, on floor, etc. But this phone still function greatly until 5 months ago which is caused due I dropped it from 2nd floor. Had to fix the screen and speaker, and it works properly again, until now i had to fix the charger port. Overall, I really love this phone, great quality and endurance, great speaker, nice screen, fast performing, fast charging. The only one weakness is it was too heavy, so I always dropped it since my hands are pretty small.

  • This is actually a nice phone. But i am a student .i have lot of things browse and use mostly common social media about 10 hours a day .but the phone still works fast and have no hanging problem .but the software has crashed many times . The battery back up is so poor i have writed this content using 2 % of charge with no background apps and at very low screen brightness i am very angry to go long trips with this phone . Cause this phone need a charger all day .after full charging i will unplug the phone and left for free until i came back .this phone seems cool outside when not running after the class the battery will 60 percentage or less i hate this phone

  • Worst Smart phone i have ever used. Got lots of troubles within a year namely software, Sim not detected, Charging slot problem and got repaired coz of warranty. Now after the warranty is over i am having a issue of sim card not detected i.e sim gets disconnected automatically. his phone got a heap of network issue. Network gets disconnected in between a call. I am afraid to give an interview call by this phone. Now the mic 1 stopped working. This phone is a usless shit. Its a crap. Still now havent got any Volte update. This is a serious shit.I also got a asus earphone with warenty of 6 months and it stopped working right after 6 months and 8 days. This is an honest review so whoever planning to buy this phone or any of asus product. Stay away.....

  • Have been using this phone since September 2015 and it still runs the same as on the first day! Very satisfied with it, it's still a good phone to get even in 2017! Interface is awesome, it runs butter smooth, be it apps or games, the phone camera is good for taking pictures during daytime (I don't take pictures during the night anyway), the 32 GB of RAM (25 GB available for use) are more than enough for apps, games, pictures and other type of files.

  • just got 1, its not powering on.

  • I have used this phone since the release date, here is my opinion the battery is strong enough to hold up to one day and never lose it's capacity over time, charging it every night before going to bed and it's fine until now, camera is brilliant with although the video isn't, plus the vibration sounded bad. and when it comes to performance, I would like to say good job for intel, this phone doesn't lag after a year usage with its bloated zenUI, still feel smooth, and the performance improves a lot after I installed Nougat with LineageOS buil, while other midrangers will lag in several month, this phone won't. maybe I'll stick to this phone if there's custom oreo build available,

  • I got this cell phone in late 2016, it came with Lollipop, I updated it to Marshmallow, but I did not keep that, I currently have it with Nougat with the Lineage distribution and I look forward to updating it to Oreo. But not everything was honey on flakes, came with a problem with the battery, in ASUS could not help me or the process was being very long with the tests without meaning they asked me to do, I ended up buying a new battery and I changed it myself . Is a good cell phone and that is the 2GB version of RAM at 1.83 GHz. It was not so easy to unlock the bootloader and make it root, but once made is just like other cell phones to install ROM's since recovery. The 3000 mAh battery lasts depending on the use they give you. The screen does not have the desired brightness, but with the correct settings it plays videos in 4K. I would buy it again.

  • I used this phone almost 2 years. No need to argue. Satisfied. Truly smartphone.

  • Bought it on in July 2016, there was a sale on B&H. It was great when such cheap phone had so great power, but it became hot even after 30-minutes of casual gaming. And after a year the screen stopped rendering the bottom side, then both SIM died and after that even speaker stopped working. This is motherboard issue which costs 120$. Very bad!

  • I bought it 2years ago & I love it so much but this week I had a problem with its LCD!The colors on the bottom of the cellphone are mixed up. I'll have to work half an hour so that the touch will work again as normal.I dont want to change it but I have to do it :(

  • Same with me.

  • A total garbage of a phone, very sensitive touchscreen and it touches by itself and sometimes doesn't work, no native app for videocall, the back button is not backlit and it can also be bendable easily so you must take good care of it and the plastic at the back brokes near the audio jack and it slides down making whole thin plastic USELESS. It still works but touchscreen and weak quality is a NO NO for me, I will buy Nokia 8 new one instead.

  • Asus zenfone 2 is good. I like the specs and its speed for games is awesome :) I only had a software problem that sim 2 slot is not detected and have it repaired in Asus service center for free due to warranty. It works fine now. My only problem now is my charger, the cable is easy to lose and it takes me a day to charge my phone to 100%.

  • Today marks the day when my Asus Zenfone 2 dies. SIM 1 is no longer detecting my SIM card, meaning it is useless. Been using it since September 2015. Sent it for repair for quite sometime. My secondary slot for SIM only recognizes the sim inserted for ~5 mins before the signal disappears. I believe most users are facing SIM issues. Charger adapter was broken after several months of use, got it replaced with a new one, and went broken again after few more months (no more replacement since the warranty is over). Battery life is not that long. The screen always gets unlocked automatically when the phone is in my pocket. No more ASUS phones for me. I used their tab before this and it was disappointing as well.

  • Ghost touch happen every time, always...especially when oppening web browser, playg game etc.

  • I bought this phone a year back and i guess this work works fine till the warranty date. I have a serious problem with this phone been changing the ASUS cable and the charging adaptor right from the Asus service centre (Hyderabad) and still my phone has a crazy CHARGING PROBLEM. Very poor service they don't give a damn about checking my phone's hardware/software. I reset my phone multiple times yet it shows unsupported power adaptor and sometimes it just go dead in the middle. Never ever going to buy ASUS again.

  • 2 days ago suddenly the front camera stopped working, couldn't find the button in the camera app, couldn't do video calls on Whatsapp, couldn't even use the Asus mirror app. Anyone experiencing something similar? Is it time to get a new phone? (If yes please recommend an Android to me! Thanks:))

  • I love my Zenfone 2 I've had some issues from the one for the guys was talking about mostly because I didn't know how to operate it and turned all the apps off and all the things that I didn't want running. Once I sorted the phone out it is amazing 4 gig ram 2.3 processor fantastic love it my second one I will buy another one. I also had an SD card issue it was corrupted by from a good supplier which I did afterwards that is some chips cab son's been unreal both sides has been perfect

  • I bought this phone on September 2015. Lately I've experienced a random overheat and battery drains way too fast, it only last like less than 4hrs with average usage (surfing internet, facebooking) and sometimes it couldn't detect my sim card which scares me the most. The camera are excellent but videos are horrible. Very choosy when it comes to USB for charging. But overall, it still working good.

  • Bought this phone last year for me and my brother. We liked it at first time. Really loved it. Good performance for first 2 months. After that, everything is so slow and unable to read sim card, ghost touch, blurry camera, battery problems, etc. After I read all the comments in here, now I know that it's the phone itself. Good for you whose phones still good. But for us whose phones got problems, won't buy ASUS anymore.

  • I got this phone in 2015, july, 2/16. This phone makes a great headache.. It has some issues, first the unexpected removal of SD card, which actually is a software issue (mine got repaired in 2016 software update), and until today I never have android upgrade (mine still run with lollipop).. Recently, my phone start having sim card undetected issue, which is purely hardware issue (my sim card is working fine in another phone, thank you) and I got tired of this phone 'attitude' just want to throw this phone and got new one instead. Battery is not good, but I don't have any expectation with that.

  • bought this in 2015.. has unexpected removal of SD card issues, and then it got fixed in 2016 software update.. my phone hasn't got any android update (still run with lollipop), battery is no good but it's expected.. it got worse now because of sim card not detected issue (what a phone without sim card, a stone?).. I'm sure the problem is purely hardware because my sim card work completely fine with another smartphone.. got tired of this zf2 and considering to buy a new phone

  • Yes, so does mine. Stuck at 50%.

  • I bought my zenfone 2 january 2016. I was putting my SIM and SD Card. While opening the back case cover using my finger naila, it cracked. The crack is now about 3-4 mm. It's very thin and there is flexing. It should not break in the normal opening of the back cover. Now I'm afraid to upgrade my microSD card.

  • Was very excited to buy this phone a year ago or so. It looked good, specs seemed fantastic and all. And for a while it worked great. Only complain was the case design: a bit to thin to hold it properly with one hand, although it looked cool, a silicone case fixed the grip problems... After only a couple months, the screen shattered while in my pocket, probably keys. This things happen. At least it still worked. A couple of months later, screen turned black and phone stoped working, right in the middle of a panoramic picture session at the beach. To much heat perhaps? Got it repaired, new original screen installed and some other hardware problem. Official Asus Service in Spain sucked, so I did it in a not official but professional shop. New screen worked perfect, Phone was as new! 2 months later, screen starts to work oddly, not recognizing touch properly. Couple of weeks later, smashed the screen again on my pocket. Gorilla glass my ass! So after 1.5 years of buying, I'd say is is quite fragile, and kinda lemmony. I'm in a hurry to get another phone. It looks great, seems like it could have been a great phone, but it sucked ass big time, in my experience. A shame for Asus, an otheriwse great company.

  • hahaha... mine is dead today. For only more than a year.

  • Asus don't give the Android Nougat to Zenfone 2 yet, and it seems of Asus won't give the software update but it's running on internet undersigned for it have the uptade.

  • How to flash custom rom 7.1 in my zenfone 2???

  • Me too, mine stuck in 82%, but actually the battery is 50% or below

  • This phone worked great at first. Now, a few months into it, the phone continues to tell me no sim is detected. It is random, but it is happening more and more. I tried restarting...no help. I tried re-inserting the sim card...no help. Now I can only use it basically on WIFI. A waste of my $200 investment!

  • i have a problem on my ze551ml. its battery meter stuck 50%. does anyone know how to fix it?

  • my phone takes screen shot by itself

  • I have had this phone now for just over a year, and it works fine in every regard. Photos are great; video is superb, and the cost was reasonable. Frankly, I consider it a beautiful phone and am totally pleased with it. The ONLY complaint is that it comes with loads of useless bloatware which you cannot remove.

  • I have absolutely no problem with this phone. I have been using it for a long time, more than a year now and its superb. Best is the 64 gb it gives, so no need of getting memory card.

  • Yeah, I'm also don't have any problems with this phone, but only the video quality is very poor, even shoot in 1080p looks like in 480p.

  • This phone sucks, i don't recommend to a friend

  • I charged my phone to 100% before I slept, then today... this morning... my zenfone 2's battery had only 18% left because it open itself all night. It stuck into emergency call screen all night. I already gave up this phone since today. I'll buy other brand phone. Any recommendation?

  • I'm using this phone for 6 months and no problem at all. I wonder how can people only using this phone for a few weeks and it already having problem. This phone has a decent graphic quality, fast processing speed, and quite accurate gps functions. Zenfone 2 actually a great phone for a cheap price.

  • Lucky u! I did exactly that but didn't work for me. Screw it, bought a new phone anyway.

  • The best thing about this phone is that it makes angry all the people that bought phones 3 times as expensive but with lower specs

  • I bought this phone thinking it would last for a long time but unfortunately it died after 3 weeks of use. The screen went black and the LED light did not turn on. I even sent the phone for repair while the warranty was still valid but they told me i had to pay over 200$CAD to repair the motherboard...since it was not included in the warranty... Just do yourself a favor and don't buy this phone. It's a waste of money and time!

  • ASUS - Please consider focusing and improve on your PC's only, so at least people will not stop buying it! And please do everyone a favor - leave the phone industry, because you just cant do it! Just sharing my own experience with Zenphone 2 for the past year of usage. That's it.

  • The most idiotic phone ever used. Wasted my money. Don't ever consider buying this cr*p!

  • using this since 2015 the first time ze551 were introduced, it performs perfectly as a mid-ranger, the camera is brilliant with its manual control and color contrast, although recording from this device and a lot details were missing in the camera result. performance? the stock rom (5.0) is bloated and runs like a snail, but it got fixed after the 6.0 update because most bloatware removed, flashing custom 7.1 rom will give you a boost and it is more faster, have no performance drop issues until now and currently still using it as a "primary phone" .

  • phni brought this model in 2016. reliance jio network is not suported in this phn. any solution??

  • I bought this phone on april 2016, on january 2017 lcd display blurr on half phone, not even a year.. after fixing it.. again on june 2017, touch test fail on the middle of the phone.. very dissapointed, i have a first generation asus zenfone, and still working just fine until now so i bought zenfone 2 coz expecting the same thing.. asus seems to decrease in quality on zenfone 2..

  • I had the same issue few months ago, after I connected the phone to laptop. It seems to be due to the fact that laptop hasn't the driver for the Intel processor of the phone, and the phone blocks itself to "protect". Try to open the phone, and disconnect the wire from battery to mainboard. It worked for me. Good luck. You can find tutorials on youtube.

  • Phone kinda broke. Bought it for my mom. Phone started clicking itself and the screen is blurry. Bought it in 2016 November. Broke today July 2017. It's not even a year yet. Great specs, but ASUS DOES NOT LAST LONG.

  • Wow, chill out dude. That person only said that and you accused him/her for being a flat out lie? Seeing a lot of negative comments, I don't think that person is a liar. I agree with you, nothing is perfect. But seeing these comments and ppl who defended ASUS makes me realize this phone makes everybody crazy. I'm not using ASUS myself, just searching for cheap phone and saw a lot of negative comments. Won't buy ASUS since there's a lot of negative comments. Although Samsung made mistake with note 7, they pulled that item out of the market and they apologized to their customers. I don't know about other brands though.

  • Not even 2 years in mine had already died. Common problem too. Can't charge (indicator off) and can't turn on. Remained dead and it vibrates twice every (about a minute) until the battery drains completely. Search on YouTube for this problem and you will see a lot of fix suggestions (that are not necessarily successful). If you are lucky and your warranty is still active you can get it repaired otherwise if you're like me with a little over a year usage you will be dumbfounded and not be able to do anything except sacrificing almost half of its initial value to repair if (if you're willing, even the repair shop told me it's a waste of money). If you are very lucky the solution to the can't charge problem is as easy as removing the backcover, unscrew everything at the back, detach the battery pin and reattach (you wish you're this lucky obviously it didn't work for me). If you look at the market price now, the price plummeted to a third of its initial selling price. Tip: Next time buying a phone, buy two phones (1 for work 1 for leisure) and always research on the phone's common problems. Or get extended warranties.

  • This is a flat out lie and you know it. EVERY phone company has phone issues. Hello. Remember the exploding Samsungs like year? It's only the negative reviews that stick out with people and with companies like Asus who are trying to make a bigger impact in the smartphone market it can hurt them (while giants Samsung and Apple have many if not more problems and you barely hear a thing from people like you but will flood Asus, OnePlus and Axon videos/articles with negative comments)

  • Been using the phone for awhile and eventually got that ghost touch... a few months later I bust the screen while trying to not drop it in a camp fire. Ended up replacing the screen myself for about 28 usd. Still works fine, still is a beast. You hear all those people complain about ghost touch, just replace the screen.... It's not that hard...

  • I bought this phone on July 2015 and used it until July 2017, for about $300. Lets say its a okay phone. The first time i'm did system update, my phone restart every minutes, because we know go to CS never went well, so i try reboot my phone, and luckily it solve the problem (so i never update my phone for almost 1.8 years, and rarely shut down or restart my phone because somehow it trigger "the restart problem", until recently i did the system update, and "the restart problem" did not happen, so lets say i'm paranoid, but yeah,,,) The performance was ok, even though have 4 RAM, i did not notice the difference. it's still lag and sometimes freeze when i playing game. My friends complain about the heat when charge and play game, it happens to me too, but i still can tolerate that. From my phone, the best thing is the picture, i satisfied with the quality, even until 2 years (i just use it in moderation, and for personal used only) Lately my touch screen not responsive, and eventually in the middle of my screen about 2 cm gap not responsive at all. That's the end of my journey with my ASUS, LOL,,, i hope we can last much longer but i'll pass ASUS phone for now

  • I've been using this ZE551ML phone for more than 2 years already ( I bought it when it was launched) and had to say its still good. The only issue I had with it are the battery life and ghost touch, it happen when the phone gets hot, it's not intermittent but it's annoying when it happened. Apart from it, it is still a decent phone with LTE, NFC and more than other phone without one. The battery drains fast because it use intel atom soc (which is a cheap powerhouse soc back then) which now asus decide to drop it and use snapdragon instead.

  • this comments based in kid's lie

  • Sometimes it bothers me to read comment from adults filled with lies! How can someone in their right mind say ASUS ZENFONE2 ZE551ML is suck? That's a lie! I have used Samsung phones and have used over 10 Sony phone(am a did hard Sony user) not until a deal introduced ASUS to me. 8months now no issue, it's works well. Sometimes when people say cracked screen, home key damage etc I sense an irresponsible use of mobile devices by this people~even if the casing is made of Alloy ore an irresponsible user will always find a way to damage it and blame someone. This phone is among the best 2 phones I have ever used.

  • It is that bad. Imagine this: having a video swipe left and right when you are watching video and while you are looking at instagram, it swipe up and down by itself. It really pissing me off. And because of this ghost touch, the battery drains so fast yet the battery is already bad to begin with. When mine already 6 months, the home button, the return button, and the screen shot button broken. Now, I'm using assistive touch app. The camera is bad too, very blurry. The casing easy broken. I was changing my sim cards and plugging earphone and it's cracking already. Really not recommended Asus phone.

  • Yeaaa ...I facing flickering...Dont know whats the problem.I got fed up with this problem and i kept the phone without charging for more days..and days...battery dead..When one day i just checked by charging again..the flickering goes for 15 minutes same like old..but again fate after that happened again. I CANNOT TAKE TO ANY SHOP..BECOZ I BROUGHT THIS ONLLINE SHOPPING...THEY SAYS WE DONT ACCEPT ONLINE SHOPPING.

  • Wow, so many bad reviews. Mostly with the ghost touch. Is this phone really that bad? I agree with people who posted "A good phone should work for every customer not only for a few" But is it really bad?

  • I've bought this phone 2 years ago, I'm still using it and it's still going strong! Good performance, decent battery life, big amount of RAM, still gets updates from Asus even after more than 2 years since the phone was released. I only had a battery drain problem once, took the phone to the Asus service in my area and they replaced the battery and since then it's been running as intended again. Running it on Marshmallow. A phone that is still a good choice, even in 2017!

  • Bought this phone September 2015 and been using it until 3 weeks ago. Overall, it was a great phone. Three weeks ago, it won't charge then eventually it won't power on. At first I thought maybe the charger was the problem. Tried charging it via PC/other chargers. Took it to an Asus service center. They said they were going to diagnose the phone first to find out what the problem is. JFC, it took them a week (and they almost lost the phone). So they tried replacing the battery and the LCD. It powered on for a while. They said the problem was "probably" the mainboard. (I don't really know much about that stuff so anyway...) I didn't want to get a new phone yet so I asked how much it would cost for the repair. Costs add up to 6000PHP (around 120USD). Lol. I'd rather buy a new phone with that money. Asus service center sucks. Lolololol.

  • I actually samsung user, before move on to this Zenfone 2, I'm on Samsung Galaxy S4, I like samsung S4 but just because of battery draining fast most of samsung model, I change my phone to zenfone 2.. so far as I'm using it quite nice until this lately I noticed that quality of picture captured by this zenfone 2 camera can't defeat the samsung S4 camera quality, I just love the display bigger than S4 and the battery more saver than S4.. after latest update by asus before some minor bug dumping my phone.. like drop calling, and some of built-in apps not running as usually.. it going to not responding.. it bother me...

  • I owned this phone from summer 2015 to spring 2017. It faced numerous hardware problems, including both SIM card readers failing in August 2016. I hung on as long as I could, but other problems came up (constant overheating, poor camera issues, constant app incompatibilities due to the x86 processor, and an extremely buggy Marshmallow update that broke compatibility with many other apps). Customer service was useless throughout, and the Marshmallow update came extremely late, long after it was promised. When confronted, they did not accept their error, instead editing their original comment on their forums promising the update deadline. Their Marshmallow update was a buggy beta at best, and after that ASUS abandoned the ZenFone 2 for the most part (the phone only got one major Android update). I happily replaced my ZenFone 2 and will never buy a mobile phone from ASUS again.

  • Never buy asus phone you will regret within 1 month and the customer service is the worst one. They do not know if your phone is under warranty or not. They tell you to send your phone to service center and later ask for repair money citing your phone is not under warranty. Asus phone is the worst phone you will ever buy.

  • Don't buy this phone guys.. useless camera.. battery sucks.. heat up while playing games... ghost touches... calling screen issues.. no volte... no firmare version update(some but not big one) cant play heavy games as well.... i bought this phone 1and 1/2 year ago in 21000 Rs now it costs 13000..wtf... i use this phone only for usb tethering... lol

  • I have purchased it new 2 years ago, with Android 5.0 I have no problems at all, battery life is great, phone is fast and smooth, do not want to get rid of it.

  • I purchased this phone in 2016. Long story short. Till this day 6/23/2017, this is the most expensive phone I have ever purchased and by far the worst. Most importantly it does not hold a charge. It will cut off automatically, during a conversation. It is constantly upgrading apps which consumes more data space. I personally believe, that ASUS should refund any customer, with a complaint, on this phone. I could only imagine how bad the other phones were.....DO NOT PURCHASE ANY ASUS ZENFONES. They are making tons of money for small technology......ASUS, TAKE CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS.....THIS IS FRAUD!

  • i like this phone, i have him almost 2 years, after a year i replaced my moderbord didnt pay cause of the warrenty. i dont have any problem, great camera for great price. all u cry babys go buy samsung that cost alot more and die after a year. zenfone is the best, thank u asus

  • Previous many post about zenfone 2 but when post without id there no support volte, jio 4voice working but drain battery. Asus this device motherboard problem normaly, Good think 4 gb ram which never hang your system. Asus own apps good. Heating problem. My device motherboard problem come after 7 month. And generaly read zentalk comment post 50-70% face my problem which face.. May be asus zenfone 3 or future phone good take decision after review...

  • Is there VoLte support after update ?

  • I bought the phone in march 2016.... the begging period was very nice and performance was great. The only problem was over heating of phone while charging and when in sunlight. in just a year the camera app started deprecating and then completely stopped working...The motherboard crashed and the cost for a new one was above 14k. This is the worst buy! A phone of 18k can't even function for 1 year. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.

  • Plz don't update..... 4.21.40.327..........because full HD video.....perfectly not working......the screen is freezing.......please...don't...update....

  • A good phone should work for every customer not only for a few!

  • nope for me...i use it from this phone nearly 3 years now..still good and no prob

  • only one sim support 4g. i had written 4g not LTE. facing same issue with this phone + battery draning issue

  • Asus, you don't deserve to be a good phone. You need to return all of our money, your phones is a blasphemy

  • Idiot software design more than hardware design. It needs update well studied using issues of professional users. One of the main issues : I can't make miss call by whatsapp because the screen became fully black after first ring!! Its software not fully compatable with whatsapp video calling too! I have long list of issues . To many idiot apps built in the device. It is shame on Asus history . Do some thing urgently with your software kids developers!! Best wishes to Asus, I like it

  • the phone is very bad and also ,,,, i bought the phone on 24/6/2017 and since 24/2/2017 i'm suffering with the phone and i sent it for repairing 3 times and now way still with the same problems and the phone still in guaranty ,,,, i text asus by the email ,,,, adn they said visit the place that you bought the phone from ,,,, it was fnac paris ,,,, and tilll now no solve the problem ...... don't waste your money with asus ,,,, it was very bad choice to get this phone and even the customer service don't solve any problems

  • it has 4 GB ram, but it was laggy when i play zigzag. ZIGZAG!!! i use this phone 1,5 years

  • after a year, my phone ASUS is not working

  • This phone is really making me mad. the battery problem I can forgive it, but the ghost touch??? like hell! I was once calling someone and the damn ghost touch turn the call off! The nerve!! I called the guy again, but this damn ghost touch won't let me and I really want to smack this stupid phone on the wall! it's even useless than my 5 years old Xperia U which turning 6 next month. And you are right, the cost is more expensive than samsung since you need to repair it and guess what? Once you repair it, the ghost touch is still there. What a joke! I'm stuck with this phone for a while until Samsung or one plus come out.

  • i have the same problem, and now after a year, my phone is not working, if you compute the cost its much expensive than the samsung o i phone

  • Smart(PH) LTE sim is not recognized on sim1 slot, while it's ok on sim2. Other sims are working on both sim slots. Why?

  • A good phone should work for every customer not only for a few

  • it's a best phone in this budget. some tells that it's worst but they should consider it with keeping in mind budget. I used it for two years. it's camera and battery is awesome. you don't get in trouble for its battery.

  • Worst phone used by me till date. Started to loose its battery life after 6 months of use. Hangs like shit . now these ghost touches have made me quit using it.

  • This phone is bad, really really bad. I have sony Xperia U for 5 years and started to go bad after his 4th year. But with this phone from motherboard company it only lasted for half a year and it started to have battery problem, after that camera suck problem (it becomes so blurry, very blurry!) and if it like wasn't enough for only these two problems, ghost touch appear every single day! it's like his routine to do ghost touch. I'm sick of this phone! 4GB memory is only marketing strategy from asus, 4GB ram runs like 512MB ram, too many asus' useless app, asus launcher is SO, I repeat SO SLOW. I'm done with this phone. It's better you focus making motherboards, ASUS!

  • "Adaptive fast charging" Fast charge to 70% to avoid hardware damage from overheating ...because ...intel. True on camera and speaker. However, currently i always have 2+ gb ram available. Only down to 1+ gb when i open multiple apps. (I have NEVER seen my Zenfone 2 RAM drop to below 1gb ram after 2 years of use) Here's a tip; Disable most bloatware And like i mentioned several comments down, never use 3rd party app cleaner, asus have their own and it works really good. (imo, most phone 2015 and up always have their own version of device manager app and most works wonder since they're optimised for the device unlike 3rd party app) Update manually to Android 6.0, it helps a lot, i posted a comment about it, just scroll down hehe. Not sure about your problem on WA, might wanna try factory reset my WA works nicely, I can even do quick reply from top pop up notif.

  • Asus ZF2 ZE551ML I've been using it about almost 2 years, probably 1 year and 9 months Here's that can I summary for this : - Fast Charging only useful until 70%, after that only normal charge until 100% - Usage for few First Month since August 2015 is good except battery issue which every below 50%, you should aware that it will dies itself - All Component is quite durable for charge, headphone jack, and power button - Camera Quality is one of the worst, because you have to focus and less movement to make sure you get a good picture which still blur if you zoom it about 300% above in Computer - There's One way to make your ASUS ZF2 ZE551ML camera get clear picture, by using Third-Party Apps, like CameraMX in my Phone - Speaker is Average, no complaint or appraise about it - Touch-Screen at First, is amazing, after several drop unmistaken or mistaken because stress or else, sometime it didn't respond well - Usually there were ghost touch by press emergency number which usually happening if you put your phone in your jeans pocket - After almost 2 years, there were so many signal trouble, (Bad Receiver, Lost Signal, and Bad Internet Speed in this while my friends by comparison using it in other phones using same carriage) - Build Quality isn't the best, because several dropdown, costing this Face Camera not work which sometime used by my friends and the phones isn't have any respons, but always showing lagging - Asus ZenUI Launcher is taking a lot memory just for a launcher and even it has advertising itself in anyway - No Update just for 5.1.1, not to 6.0.1 yet, so, you can guest how it's works inside this phone - RAM Memory Allocation is bad, available in 4GB in marketing, but reality only shows 3.8GB, and if you not using anything at first moment buy it, you still have 2GB to use, but for now only 1,2GB at fully potential available to use - Because I'm using softcover for the backside of the phone, the plastic is really dirty and to clean it, minimal using alcohol which not beer, but sanitizer - Too Many Build-In Apps which useless, only 15% apps in my phone is useful, the rest is junk - If you turn on Clean Master, it will advert on your Notificiation and usually if isn't between ads or even malware invitation - In several weeks before write this, this phone isn't read the SIM2 so well which really annoying - Browser by ZenUI Build-In isn't work properly again, so like or not, you have to use Google Chrome - While You update your apps, this phone is cannot be used because the laggy costing the apps that you open while update the other apps might be Crash - WhatsApp notification even I turn on, it won't tell you except you have to open WhatsApp everytime you need to communicate with someone - If you turn on your phone quite long without restart or everything, probably the screen wil get affected coz' by GPU cannot load the graphics well, even when you watch video on Youtube - If you want to play game, my best recommendation to play in Airplane Mode, because the Laggy possiblity is minimal than turn on the signal, I've been try play NFS MW 2012 and it works well, you can play it too while not in airplane mode, but after few plays, it will laggy - Cost itself is very depreciate, because when it out in Indonesia, starts at Rp. 4,1 Million, I bought it at Rp. 3,9 Millions, today probably only about Rp. 2 Million. So, after experience this phone, I'm suggesting that you better pick the phones which support quality, software, and less complaint by people. Because, this phone is good at the beginning cycle, but will be useless at the end of the cycle. Thanks for watching these many comments :D Charlico

  • I don't know that the device sports of our not. please inform

  • Both front & rear camera using f/2.0 aperture. But I realised after updating from Android L to Android M, the camera becames worst, the picture seems blurry and not sharp as early I used (sorry for my bad english, hope u understand). HDR mode seems can't works very well, very bad

  • - it supports "Adaptive Fast charging".... - it has 100GB free subscription on Google Drive. - customizable screen gestures.

  • camera is so terrible

  • Hi. may I know how bad it is? what is the aperture of each of the camera?

  • My review after 6 months using this phone PRO # Good performance, works fast open any app # Fast multitasking # Good battery life (est. 4h on continous usage (browsing)) # Touch responsive run smoothly CONS # Camera becomes poor, blurry photos, not impressive as first time using it * # Ghost touches # Not a massive performance for gaming, can't run a too excessive & high graphic gaming "*" denotes a problem that detected after updating for Android L to Android M CONCLUSION Good for multimedia, completing tasks on our daily life, but not suitable for gaming and photography

  • please give me the link to the rom you're usin now! Are you sure there are no bugs? I ordered this phone yesterday and I'd want to install the best rom available

  • camera sucks

  • 100000000% AGREE!

  • Just manually update it, its very easy. Besides, its official from ASUS. Choose Android and then Firmware, from there choose the LATEST file according to your device's type/model. READ THE MANUAL PROVIDED ON THAT WEBSITE AND DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE WRONG VERSION, AS IT WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE. check under Settings > About > Model Number or Software Information

  • i had nexus 7 and zenfone 2. what a bummer. asus is good with pc motherboard. not a phone and tablet computer.

  • Been using this phone since Sept 2015. Overall experience: it was a great phone. Recently, it started switching off by itself. Like when I try to send a message or open apps like fb, ig, etc. Screen would freeze then it'll turn off. Sometimes it turns off even when it's just on standby! And it would take long to switch on. Drains a lot of battery. Not even using my phone heavily. Plus Asus hasn't released OTA update for marshmallow. I'm planning on buying a new phone because of those.

  • A good phone should work for every customer not only for a few.

  • I want software update from lollypop to marshmallow pls sir

  • Great phone... i'm using it about 1 years.. Fast, full customize UI.. help my multitasking work...

  • FYI, I already been there. I live in Taiwan, ASUS is from Taiwan mind you. And the customer service there only said "It's Zenfone 2 biggest flaw". People like you should stop defending ASUS. ASUS is a bad phone company, even Taiwanese regret after buying Zenfone 2. It's only good to use for few months, after that there will be a lot of bugs. I even called to the center call, talking using Chinese and they just "Nothing we can do except changing it again." I won't pay them anything. It's their own fault to make bad phone!

  • Mine started random shut down now after a year. Last night, I made a phone call, and it shut down by itself, battery = 92%, when I turn it on again, the battery become = 73%. I really want to throw this piece of **** into the ocean. I will not buy anything with ASUS brand again. Good job for making useless garbage, ASUS.

  • All in all it's a good phone, but mobile network connection issue lower its value very very much >: ( Despite good reception, people calling me hear that I'm offline or switched off, or faulty connection, etc. Some friends think that I added them to a blacklist )) You may google it, if you want, there is enough discussions of this problem. And it doesn't depend on your country nor provider. Shamefully Asus doesn't bother with fixing this, which is main factor for avoiding this brand next time.

  • SoC temp: 81 °C max/60-68°C av. Battery temp. 51 °C max/40-47°C av. Screen-on: 2hrs

  • I bought this phone in May 2015, so I've had it for 2 years. This has been an amazingly great phone, for an amazing price. Like any electronics, sometimes you get a lemon. I've had absolutely no issues with this phone, the battery is still holding a charge for a long time. I use the phone a lot for Internet stuff like Facebook, Instagram, e-mails, map, music and pictures, plus texting. Very little for, you know, talking. Some of the pictures I've taken with this phone were quite fantastic and impressive. The stock Android wasn't great, it was painful to get Marshmallow, but since then it's been an even better phone. I use the Google launcher, not the ZenUI, and that made the whole experience even nicer and smoother. After 2 years, I'm tired of the curved back, I want something slimmer and more stylish. Yes, this is all plastics but you know what, it doesn't feel cheap, and it doesn't break just looking at it... like those with glass backs (ZenFone 3?)...

  • Do not buy this phone, while it provided a lot of power (as of 2016), it is all plastic. Within months, speaker failed, power button soldered onto mainboard failed. Poor quality.

  • Bought that phone because it has dual sim, large screen, and Asus is a famous company for computer hardware. It's totally wrong. After used for few months, problems issued (1) Phone halted almost everyday, (2) Phone suddenly turn offed. (3) Although it's dual sim, the second sim only has 2g. If you are using AT&T 2g network has been shut down, it's useless. Search on Google, you will found problems (1) and (2) on that phone. Never buy any cell phone from Asus again.

  • You should go to the asus official central service in ur area or country and ask them to change the lcd or whatever that seems error in there. My dad have a same issue too before. First service only stays for 2 days and the issue came back and then he toss his phone until it went black and send it to the bigger official central service, he tell them to change everything that seems error because he just bought it for 2 months. Now everything's nice and fine

  • Plsssss dont buy this fone

  • This phone has had Marshmallow since quite a while. It comes with 5.0 but it can be upgraded.

  • Yes, we have the official M update but not yet the Nougat (we don't know if Asus will update this model).

  • Hi, someone know if it got the possibility of been upgraded to 6.0 (Marshmallow)? I\'m thinking between it and the BLU Life One X2. Thanks

  • on Ebay (with a chinese seller). The shipping was very long: almost 2 months to get my package...

  • From where did you buy the display? I need one too

  • this phone is volte or lte support?

  • Does anyone own ZE551ML with batch production around Serial Number F8AZFG 00F789 and having issue? Was thinking Asus are dumping problem unit selling at discounted price. The issue of flickering screen: ww.youtube.com/watch?v=Az0c5ucpTmM

  • Got my US variant (ZE551ML - Z3560/2GB/16GB) for 2 years now. Few months ago a side of my touchscreen was dead so I bought a new screen (20 bucks) and replaced it myself. I also took the official cover and the fast charger which was not included with my model. This a good phone except to the camera (very average) and maybe its weight. The battery is okay (1 to 1.5 days in normal use). The only thing to do to be sure that the battery is correctly calibrated is to complete a wipe cache (with the recovery mode). Last thing to know. Unfortunately, the ZE551ML is no longer really updated by ASUS. It's because this model uses the Intel chipset (which stopped the support and development). So no VoLTE activation and probably no official Android N. Hope that the LineageOS community will release a stable version for us. I'm not really angry against ASUS but I'm a little bit disappointed by the lack of communication.

  • Love this phone! Its is more powerful than my laptop and only paid $249. I've had it for two years, dropped it many times with the really minimalist bumper case.

  • It's my mistake to buy this phone, this phone is only good for 3-5 months, after that the "sickness" comes what makes it's super annoying is the ghost touch. I'm watching videos and it started to press the next button over and over again by itself. Please ASUS!! show you care about your customer!! Or maybe you should just stick to the motherboards, your motherboards are good

  • this is the first mobile phone that lasted 2 years with me and i am still using this phone. with a tempered glass protector and a bumper/case its a sturdy phone. the phone is not for heavy gaming like NBA, but is good enough for casual games. After 2 years of service it's now experiencing ghost movements/unresponsive screen where in i need to hit on the on/off button to fix. I guess this is caused by build up on the cache/ram as i rarely switch off or restart my phone (sometimes weeks without switching it off). This phone served me well.

  • Stop trolling. Seriously though, too many trolls here. If you get clumsy (dropped it, spilled coffee on it, etc) or lend your phone to a young sibling or a young child and it got damaged its not the manufacturer's fault. Besides, I've been using it for almost 2 years and i dropped it from my bed/table/pocket/hand slipped quite often, performance is still unaffected. Also, you might wanna check the genuity of your device, there are some apps that can help you. I don't get paid to say all of this. Im just a fan of an affordable-good/high performing device and a happy customer.

  • after less than 1 year it started crashing.. every once in a while in needs a restart (wifi no longer working or bluetooth). crashes once or twice a week

  • dont buy this phone,i repeat DONT BUY THIS PHONE,after 8 month i use it,the phone start to have a problem, the screen start to flicker, the screen start to show a horizontal line, until now ,there is no solution for this problem!!, so, i advice you to not waste your money to buy this phone (ASUS), but nevermind, its my mistake to buy a phone from a motherboard company HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • (By 14th April, 2017) I've been using it for 1 yr and 9 months. So far so good, everything is still working really well. (Camera, fast charging, etc) Capable of playing heavy online games like; World of Tanks Blitz, Avabel Online, etc. on high settings and no lag/stutter. Still getting 45-60 FPS on those games even after almost 2 years of usage. (Depends on device heat) Tips for those who complained about battery; 1. Prevent auto start of apps. (i disabled most of mine, not the one where you disable apps though, only the auto start), saves a lot of battery/RAM. 2. When youre not using it (work/class, etc), switch to Power Saving or Super Saving mode. Leaving it on Performance mode drains battery. 3. Disable/uninstall bloatwares and dont use third party "clean up" apps ZE551ML has an excellent mobile manager that is optimised for this device given by ASUS (Again, saves a lot of Batt/RAM)

  • been using this phone for almost 2 yrs and it works well. its a great phone!

  • I have the same problem with you. I think almost zenfone 2 users have the same problems with the battery, and it happens so fast, mine was around 7-8 months when it started the problem

  • This phone is a product of shamefulness. After a year using it, my phone almost in the brick of her death. Random ghost touch, battery draining so fast, bad camera, become so slow each day, and many bad things happens with this phone. While my other phone, SONY last longer than her. My SONY survived 2 years and a half before she gets battery problems too. The customer service is freaking bad too. No problem solving after contacted them. Instead of solving this phone problem's ASUS decided to make a new phone. Which I'll never buy again. I think ASUS shouldn't make phone, they focus on making motherboards as it's their specialties. But who am I kidding, ASUS never will hear their customers. Will go with other brand after my ASUS RIP, which probably not too long.

  • Guys. I am posting this after usage of one year and four months. I started to realize problems after 6 months. Battery drains faster Speaker noise Restart Camera became poor. Sim 1 slot failure Phone slows down No sound from speaker now. No service center near by. No way to go for warranty. It has got only in major areas. I have sony, samung, LG Vivo, Nokia etc service centers near by. But no Service Center for ASUS. I have to travel 60KM to reach ASUS service center. Others service centers just around 3 KM radius. If you are planning to buy iy. Please dont. I am from India - Tamil Nadu

  • It's not the best smartphone but it is still useable i mean very useable for 2017.Got no problem but the Android 6.0 MM update gave me random crash and i need to restart my phone and slow connecting to mobile data or Wifi.I got no hardware problem for 1 years usage(Got mine on February 2016).It is a crazy phone for the price u got all(Since Zenfone 3 came out) i mean fast charging,USB Otg,Micro SD up to 128/256GB,and Dual sim.I very recomend this phone beside HTC one m8 or Sony Xperia Z3 if u need some waterproof and better build quality

  • the problem wasn´t asus itself but intel...I believe Asus started on the wrong foot by developing a partnership with Intel from the beguining. They realised that thats why the launched different versions with qualcomm chips and they doing a lot better now.

  • This phone was great when i first got it. Then once i got my apps installed, it was slower than my old Droid X. Then the screen went bad around the edges. Ghost touches everywhere. My main problem is how quickly Asus dropped this phone and quit supporting it.

  • sadly any smartphone nowadays needs more care. it's not the manufacturers fault if you dropped you phone. i have a ze551ml and i just can't find any reason to upgrade at the moment. i am soooo satisfied because it can handle anything as for now. it's just like how i bought it.

  • most likely manual update when you go marshmallow from lollipop.

  • i'm using mine from september 2015 upto this very moment and still like how i bought it in terms of performance. it just depends on how you use it.

  • Go to settings and click and battery and change the mode to last before one

  • Plus: Ram,fhd Minus: (Like every Phone) it is only for 1 year, after 1y: Display is not Sharp, dust on a selfie camera, speaker over 50%volume annoying, sim broken, jack is broken, phone lags... Everything tells u : Buy a new one.

  • Intel Atom Z-series is focusing on efficient usage such as good for multimedia, fast network, smooth on performance that suitable on our daily usage. But u still could play any intensive games but it can't categorised as massive performance for gaming today cuz this Intel Atom's version that equipped in this device was an outdated processor right now. But their performances still competitive with other high-end devices out there

  • Can u plz tell me how does the intel atom going on Cause alots of people r saying that intel is not good for gaming.

  • I am facing that data on off widget is not works properly sometimes i hv to open setting and then turn on data what can i do

  • Hey bro camera quality is very best no other camera is good i had compare with xiomi redmi note 3 and moto g4

  • For all users how to eliminate battery drown. Go Setting -> Developer option ->Background process limit -> At most 1 process This setting keep my battery 2-3 days moderate use.

  • Pls how did u do it

  • I am using Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML mobile for past 2 years and the mobile performance as well as specification is very good and enough. Camera quality, Software, Specifications, Applications, Performance are very good overall. It is fast charging when we charging mobile in in 30 - 40 min almost 60% - 70% battery charge quickly which is also good thing. Only small concern is when we using mobile the battery charge getting reduce or down soon. If we start from 100% when we use mobile with or without mobile data or WI-Fi almost 12 hrs to 18 hrs go with battery and here also one thing noticed is if the battery charge get reduced below 10% then also we can able to use mobile with net connection up to it will go with 3% or 2% level which is plus point only and it looks or showing good performance mobile. Normally now a days most of the android smartphones when we use more hours with more apps then the battery percent will get reduce we can see and it is accross very mobile. So this mobile is overall very good and happy to use. Thanks.

  • Just software update it

  • After a year of smooth operation, I downloaded an app in a museum and the constant rebooting problem began. Someone on the web indicated that was due to automatic update of all apps. I switched that function off, and phone stopped rebooting all the time.

  • Is it true that new update of zenfone removed built in email app?

  • You are totally wrong buddy..I have used the same since 2 years now..and it still runs smooth..still the features are competitive with high end phones of sony, moto and nokia. Asus is awsome man.

  • Crap. Bought it because it has dual sim, the screen size fulfilled my requirements. After used few months and upgraded to Android 6.0 problems come out. Phone halted almost once a day. sometimes more than twice. Has to shut it off and power it on again. Has put screen protector and cover, dropped on the floor accidentally the LCD screen at the bottom edge become dark. Never has these problems on Samsung, Xperia phone I used before. Thought Asus is a famous computer and has good reputation on computer hardware. It totally changed my mind, never buy Asus again.

  • I've used this phone for 2 years now. Rooted it last month, and installed Lineage OS (or what most people know as Cyanogenmod) Now it's running Nougat 7.1 like a champ!! It's so fast, native multiwindow is incredible, animations and fluidity is just unbelievable, and new features are there!! It's like it has a new phone. Performance is a champ!! Zen UI was so frustrating but now I jave a clean and polished stock UI. I love this phone got it for some cheap bucks and now it's just surprisingly better.

  • no u can't.... volte is not for this model

  • Helooo guyz How to turn ON the volte on asus zenfone2 (zooad)

  • Hello asus user 😀😃 My phone is getting so hot con't take it in my hands when i play game and not getting battery as perfect us i got first plsss helppp me guyssss

  • i have been using this device for a year not getting any latest update.until now i was using single sim it works fine but now i want to use dual sim,but 2nd sim is not getting detected.help me what should i do?

  • silent

  • I don't have any problems with mine. Might be on your end, meaning YOU.

  • Its the charger. Youll get notification that your phone may get a bit hot bec of the fast charging. If your planning to buy the fast charger I suggest buying it directly from ASUS

  • I'm still using Lollipop stock rom and the only time I encountered the heat issue is when I play Pokemon Go (data, wifi and gps on) which I read in forums that is normal especially when the phone is having a hard time getting signal (in my country signal reception is so poor) and they say that Intel chips have high heat threshold (I play heavy graphics games like Marvel FF, FF Mobius, etc. and no overheat). Only issue I encountered is mediocre battery life. Installed original tempered glass (not cheap ones) since day one and never encountered ghost touch or any screen issues. My brother in law bought one (same deluxe version) but encountered 3 issues: usb bug in which the phone dies when plugged into pc and you need to remove and reconnect battery (I dissassembled his phone and did the fix), ghost touches but due to poor handling (he just place it in his backpack which he admits he accidentally sits on at work), and bloated battery (he always lets his phone reach 0% charge). Overall one of the best phones I've purchased. Just hoped that when I update it this week to Marshmallow I won't encounter any problems (proximity bug and sensor bugs).

  • 100% worst phone, I am using smooth way...but over heat problem... Don't buy this phone....pls pls pls pls friends....waste of money

  • yes ASUS deluxe Is best choice to have a good mobile now. in just two months I purchased two mobile for my family because I am using it. it is very easy to operate and their functions are really amazing. thanks to ASUS

  • So far i use the 6.0.1 is more good. But if you don't comfort with that you can downgrade to 5.0

  • Good Day Sir! Any bugs/problems in the newest and updated marshmallow rom? Particularly the proximity sensor bug? Is it better to reset data or just update it as is? I'm still stuck in Lollipop because I fear that the Marshmallow rom/update is still unstable. Thanks!

  • Oh, and the sim slot is easily broken too. Seriously ASUS?

  • Negative: easily overheat, ghost touch every time it gets too cold (during winter), bad casing (mine is broken in headset place), poor battery life, poor customer service, can't play new games, easily broken buttons, foggy screen Positive: Cheap I don't mind all of those negative sides except the ghost touch! I've fixed it before in ASUS center in Taipei, but it gets the sickness again after only 3 months being repaired and I spent almost 1000NT for it. It's really stupid, I won't spend my money anymore on this phone, I'll go buy a new phone. You've disappointed me ASUS. Overall: very bad phone, bad brand, not recommended it

  • what make this phone has FAST CHARGING feature? the battery, charger or the Mainboard it self..? coz my phone is cannot fast charging anymore rightnow..

  • Bought this phone last aug 2015 got the 4gb 64 gb variant, battery life is ok, quite disappointing it cant play NBA 2k16, 2k17. I used to have a problem with the touchscreen not responding once the CPU gets hot, but uninstalling a few apps and switching off the phone when I am asleep solved the problem. So far I am satisfied with the phone. Just waiting for Nokia to release their phone this year.

  • Hi everyone, i have some issues on my asus zf 2 ZE551ML . Problem is when im calling with someone on a phone ,the sounds is not clear, lil bit noisy . It is because fo software problem or etc? I just bought and use this phone from 1week ago ,thanks

  • I only saw improvements on it. Performance little bit faster and I realise my battery drains slower than Android L. But it depends on how you used the phone. My battery could last 7h (estimated) on using internet such as WhatsApp, Instagram n others. I played Asphalt 8 and it can last for 1h 20m (estimated). Sorry for any bad english. Hope u understand

  • Just upgraded to marshmallow last friday. I think it is a bit faster and battery drains a bit slower. I updated manually using the latest version in asus site.

  • Hi, I got mine last August 2015 and still using it until today Q1 2017 w/o any issues. BUT still in android 5.0. I would like to ask if what issues or did you find any issue with the ZE551ML after updating it to Android M? Tnx

  • I have 128gb inbuilt asus ZenFone 2 ze 551 ml.it works high speed.but battery backup very bad

  • Hi pls replace touch screen for solve your problem

  • asus zenfone 2 ze551ml i purchased from amazon, initially all was okay, started with camera not responding, and later hanging and then it had screen flickering problem, nothing worked now it is black screen with lots of lines. dont know what to do with it.

  • well, I'm facing the same in the front camera.. try to fix it by color management.

  • Its likely update will never come. Intel socs are discontinued.

  • Hello, please someone help me, my camera showing yellowish images mostly, i don't know why its happening, if some one has idea about this please suggest me solution.

  • Constant Wi-Fi connection problems, barely working Bluetooth, huge battery drain, screen not being legible in the daylight (ambient light sensor not used properly). Really glaring problems, and manufacturer focuses on colorful ui, wallpapers, needless apps (that Google does better) instead of bug fixes and OS updates. Main camera is OK, build quality fine, but software problems are typical for asian manufacturer.

  • I wonder how you all that had problems with this phone. I already bought this phone from 2015 December until now (Feb 2017) overall is good. Good performance, no big problems even lag. I'm playing NFSMW and it works great at performance mode. But only bad at battery capacitity. It only lasts 1h if I played any heavy games such as NFSMW

  • @xander cage well eventhough there are 2 SIM slot, but if i remember correctly the 1st slot support 4G/3G while the 2nd SIM slot only supports 2G

  • Hi i had a zen phone deluxe i bought here in hk. Im informed that sim 2 tray only will accept or detect a sim 2g to 3g. Its annoying but thats it period.. I dont think there will be a solution to this issue. I have asked numerous sources but its the same.. Asus made the phone like that.. If this helps you to at least have sime sort of closure to the issue..

  • Hi my ZenPhone became 1 year old two weeks ago and all of the sudden it switched off and would never turn on again!!! It seems it was waiting for the warranty to expire to died! I was really pleased with the phone but this is annoying. Now i want to take it to an authorized Service Center but there is none in my country Anyone from Asus reading this willing to help??

  • My ZenPhone became 1 year old two weeks ago and all of the sudden it switched off and would never turn on again!!! It seems it was waiting for the warranty to expire to died! Anyone from Asus reading this that can help??

  • Only sim 1 slot accepts LTE Sim. I have the same phone.

  • the phone does not support 4g in sim2 tray, it is only GSM and 2g.

  • if you have one sim card its read properly sim1 please try same time 2 sim card

  • I bought asus ZenFone 2 ze551ml 4gb ram and 128gb storage, few days ago. But my idea 4g micro sim doesnt work in sim 2 slot. That slot won't even detect it. The same micro sim works fine in sim1 slot. Please help.

  • A

  • Very Excellent. Very Fast Speed Mobile I Love it

  • Mine too! It's really frustrating, I just bought this phone. This is my first smart phone and it disappointed me so bad. Never will buy anything from asus anymore. And the customer service is so bad.

  • This phone is so bad after 2-3 months. Bad battery life, ghost hands, bad buttons, all of it is bad. for the first 2 months, i really love this phone, but after these accidents, i gave this phone 0 points. never will buy asus brand phone anymore. the customer service is bad too, so bad, super bad. they will reply you after a week. no use to hire them. and whenever i asked when the android will be upgraded, they never reply. seriously, taiwanese phone is bad, the service is worse.

  • i do no what you say men

  • yes i am suffering from this device for the last 1 year 8m and i have gone to every forum and help vid there is about thi phone its a peace of cr*p to the point that you can not even receive someones call , if its locked you cant unlock it the screen the mobile is set with an inbuilt hardware error static heating and screen problem is very very common you can do hard resets 100 times it is of no use the screen replacement works for like 3 months before same error happens , the sim slots are not bad as well cant switch with dual 4g n if u change sims frequently its breaks and need to be replaced then same thing happens it starts from upper screen in propagates downwards later it goes till the navigation keys as well the , asus support center say its coz u use and charge at the same time but thats a lie 4g drains battery like hell need to charge 2 times a day my 1year and 8 months of this mobile is literally a heal after first 6 months i did not expect asus to do this kinda mobile, i use all gaming and pc components fom asus , but nothing disappointed me as much as this mobile

  • i buy asus zenfone 2 ze551ml but in vertical state delete key space upper side not working & horizontal state is working then what i do please give advice fastly

  • i use zenfone 2 32gb 4gb ,its very good and smooth very fast, sound quality is midium, video cam also not high but for so low price u cant buy any other brand with so hisg spec

  • I bought this phone once its came to my country after 4 months. #Pro's: - Got free google cloud storage - Pure fast charging - Smooth gesture use - there is no lag between apps or windows changing - Bad handheld - solved by hand-grip accessory - Big screen mobile phone ever - Enough for editing some Office Apps #Con's: - In first 5 months, the screen was flicker about 25%. 3-4 month later almost 100% I could not see its display except grey permanent flicker. - According to screen damage, I brought to Asus service center - 1 week solved. Until now there is no issue anymore - Don't get fall down. surface edge portions are very vulnerable

  • I got mine last november 2015 and last january 28 this year, the phone just shut off and i can no longer open it.and doesn't charge..too bad i can no longer recover all my files since mine was 64gb and i dont use sd card.. i tried to have it fixed but they said it doesNn't respond even on computer.. im really really disappointed

  • thanks for the information :0

  • I bought it from Directd pj

  • exelent phone

  • where did you buy ? :)

  • I also have this phone and it's great for me

  • I had the same problem with my ZE551ML unit 4/32GB variant after using it for 2 weeks. I had to send it off to their service center to be fixed. Hopefully the same problem won't exist again when I get it back. Overall, the unit is good, the battery is decent, perfect for selfies and for multitasking. :)

  • Ijust got this phone 3 days ago 32gb 4gb ram rm588 and i just update to marshmallow everything works fine .

  • Yeah, thats true. I'm also using this phone n it still works great.

  • Hello Guys, i want clear about this i'm using ZE551ML 4gb RAM Phone working very smooth compare to others like Lenovo/Micromax/Carbon/Lava/Vivo as price it is little bit high as specification but not more per quality. The Intel processor is great but take more battery. After 1.2 year i have to replace the battery. Camera is good but in Low light or Night Performance wise no one can delivery smooth like Intel it my Experience after using various phone have various processors Like Samsung/HTC/MI/OPPo/VIvo/Sony etc. for Games honestly its good but not best but for multi apps no can compare this.

  • So many complaints here @ this phone, I really wonder what you guys are doing with it if it's working as bad as you're complaining. I have mine since August 2015 and it's working great. Smooth as butter, battery life is decent and no problems while gaming. Upgraded it to Marshmallow a few months ago and I only saw improvements to it, battery life stayed the same. A very good phone for its times and it's still quite good even now, in Q1 2017.

  • ASUS phones are very bad phones, flickering issue is big issue, you cant any thing, I hate the asus

  • Was good until it wasn't. just died. I knew this going in, so I thought it would be an issue that was fixed. Don't buy and don't trust the Zenfone 3 either.

  • Very Good phone...

  • Very bad customer care center in Jakarta Indonesia. Don't buy Asus product.

  • When it will come volte update.....

  • If you can live with the added bulk of the device, the Intel chip inside is quite capable.

  • ( same issue ) This phone really makes me sad, too many problems, ghost touches, broken buttons, bad battery life also bad service.

  • I have no big issue with My Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML... EXCEPT for the very annoying GHOST TOUCH on screen, which also happened to other users of Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. I might not buy any ASUS phone anymore

  • NO, NO and NO. I did that mistake to buy the phone for my mom as I tought a 65 years old women dont need the fastest and most powerfool smartphone. All that she needs is a normal phone to run Viber, FB and take few snapshots, thats it ! Well this is too much for this phone, battery drops from 90 to 0, camera is freezing, need restart few times per day .... you are not buyng a phone, you are buying a problems!

  • Intel processor have incompatible issue with some apps.

  • I just open my zenfone box and the phone is not powering on...?

  • phoe is full of problems , battery , touch suckz and so does it freezes

  • For the people who asking Marshmallow Update, download update manually from this site there is no OTA works fine without any problem and performance tweaks. 1.download this file :UL-Z00A-WW-4.21.40.134-user.zip. 2. paste it root directory of internal memory. not in downloads folder. 3. restart ur phone. u will get notification to update. 4. click Update, it will take nearly 20 to 30 mins. it will work without any bugs and u will get a 75mb OTA update for security patch. and install it. thats all marshmallow is done

  • Not gonna buy any asus phone ever again, since this is my first ever smartphone i thought that this phone is quite cool with it's spec and it's a standard for a smartphone, after i change my phone to other products i just realized how stupid i was, lmao. 4 gb ram doesn't really matter, still slow, not optimized. new phone got 3 gb of ram, smooth like baby's butt. intel proc just worse, well not the worst tho but still it suck. playing multi games with friends, lag, my friend use samsung s4 and it's smooth as heck, really!!!??? at first i thought it was the matter of my internet connection but it seems that's not the case, my new phone can play it just fine. i planned to bought zenfone 3 before but i changed my mind, i'm just glad that i'm not captivated with it's 'high spec' or else i'll regret it for years to come. I don't know about zen 3 performance tho but i just hope that asus is not only showing it's 'superior' spec as their main selling point and turns out that the performace of their phone is a disaster.

  • I'm also thinking of getting this device but I'm getting the special edition one. Currently I have the S4, and after seeing the camera result of the Selfie I'm bit disappointed with the image taken with it. The photo was dark knowing the Selfie have a better camera spec compared to the S4. I must say the S4 have a better camera compared to the Selfie after viewing the photos in a laptop. So I'm still undecided if I should go and buy the Zenfone 2 Special Edition.

  • I bought the ze551ml (the one with 2.3ghz intel/4gb of ram) about 6 months ago and so far I am loving it. It is by far the best phone I've owned (my previous phone was the galaxy s4). It has great features. it runs smoothly and is very snappy. I used stock lp, then went to mm and now I'm on CM 14.1 running android 7.1.1 and I absolutely love it. Of course it has some problems, the battery could last longer and the camera, even though when it has light it works briliantly when it takes low light photos it lacks a bit of quality. Overall I think it is a really good phone and recommend people who are looking to buy this to do so

  • The problem with zf2 MM starts from many aspects, battery drain is the main one. It just drains too fast, 100 to 90 in a blink, when using LP can go almost twice the time. I have to admit, many bad reviews, but the cause is not unknown : using heavy load tasks while using 9v fast charging. 80% chance u will damage the touchscreen and lcd. No smartphone will survive 4 years, let alone the battery it self. Phones with fast charger have shorter lifespan. I predict this phone can go up to 2 years more max. Unless they kill Lollipop this year. Then bye bye zf2. MM really kills this phone. Trust my words.

  • download from asus official website and put it in your sd card. Will update it self. Because as an update version it is later than MM update, but the OS is LP. So the phone will recognize it as an update but actually a downgrade.

  • No, u download from asus website and put it in your sd card. Will update it self. Because as version it is later than MM but the is LP. So the phone will recognize it as an update but actually a downgrade.

  • MM will definitely mess your battery life. Find a reversed update in the official web to revert back to LP. You dont want MM for this phone.

  • The battery life is so bad i just play 1 stage on Brave Frontier and i lost 12 pct battery vs my S7 which does the same battle but loses 1pct. Regardless of how much speed you get that battery life is only about 30 minutes on mines.

  • Hi guys, I recently bought Asus Zenfone 2 Z00AD (1.8ghz/32gb/4gb RAM) and i was impresssed about every aspect from this phone, premium build & HIgh-end specs. But after weeks of using it, the heating issue and the battery draining part really turns me off. Like I have to charge it more frequently unlike my recent Huawei phone. Done all the updates including the latest .223 firmware, OS upgrades to MM, and system battery saver but its not enough to last a day. Hope guys from ASUS don't abandon all of their recent flagship device that badly needs some stable updates to have a much better performance as they promised. .

  • As prepared as I was when I bought the for I was not prepared for the issues that it brought. Main issue was that any update from Asus immediately caused my phone to crash and forced me to completely factory reset, (happened over 3x's). Next issue was half n' half, any app that needed updating from Google Play could and would cause my phone to restart on its own giving me a SD card error. Battery dies way too quickly, I'm beginning to charge it more and more. Brightness can sometimes suck. I've had this phone since 04/05 of 2015 and its been the biggest disappointing thing ever! Along the biggest waste of $300 I've ever spent. Asus support is and forever terrible. I don't recommend any Asus phone period.

  • I surely don't recommend this series although they have 4 GB RAM. I am strucked with inverted bootloader hard brick without abbility to flash. My 300$ dolars are lost.

  • This product very suck. Low quality ptoduct. 2 time having problem with touch screen. Very feedup with asus with low quality product.

  • It doesn't make any sense having a removable back and having a plastic rail inside holding the exposed battery. I wish they made the battery removable.

  • New update is online for Android M, says fixes wifi/bluetooth issues & updates security patch to 1st jan 2017 What about VoLte support??

  • Marshmallow does not support OTG. Only if you downgrade it to lollipop then it will work again.

  • On youtube, only Full HD is supported. If you take a 4K video into the storage and play it using VLC (for example), the phone will play it but I hope you're smart enough to understand that a 4K video will not be shown in a 4K resolution when played into a Full HD screen...

  • Good performance and smooth touch also have a great features in low price very good working

  • Don't buy this if you don't like low battery life.

  • Good performance and smooth touch also have a great features in low price very good working

  • need this fone to front camera make good and screen contrast more then now so it's like good cause front camera is low light and picture is darke and screen light is also like dim ans also sound tomuch poor sound may like speaker going to fart so plzz make this good rather then fone is good thank's

  • You can download the firmware online and then use an app called Odin to reinstall firmware

  • is this phone could play 2K video or 4K? or only full-HD ?

  • The quick charge stop working after 1.2 years

  • follow this link for reverse update to lollipop from marshmellow :

  • how you do reverse update from marshmallow to lollipop?

  • Its actually good. But the problem was the battery, it drains fast but its a great phone.

  • dont buy this phone. ghost touch, battery drain, unstable firmware, etc. its crap, regret that i recomend this phone to my friends and family. They trust me no more!!!

  • The problem you had Marshmallow, what version of Marshmallow was it? And when did it start? was it right after you turned it on, or after some time? And would you recommend it to someone who wouldn't buy a phone for the next 4 or more years? I'm asking cuz, I want to know if the low price is worth it for it to last, after years of usage. And I have seen alot of bad reviews about Zenfone 2. Thanks in advance :D

  • I am seriously trying hard to move on from this phone, but haven't found any reasons to. - it had problems with Marshmallow [battery drain, and bluetooth lag], but then i found reversed update to lollipop from asus official website, and it is working amazingly well again. [Seriously, who needs M when L is doing better?] Almost 2 years of using this phone - RAM still breathing comfortably. 4GB [free unused ram sits comfortably around 1,5GB to 800MB] - one thing to avoid, is using the fast charger while doing some heavy tasks. [ may lead to overheat] > only use the fast charger when you really need fast charging, and for the love of God leave it alone when you do charge it with the fast charger. - one may think that this phone is obsolete, sometimes i do too, but again and again I was proven wrong. It scores an amazing 60k plus on antutu 6.2 - 4G connection works with no problem whatsoever - camera is basic, standard quality, but well, enough for me. [not in anyway bad at all, unless under low light condition] - the backdoor, 3d illusion zencase, only costed me under 4USD, cheaper than buying a case over it [which makes it thicker]. - the audio wizard works wonder for my music. - had cycling accidents twice, broke the screen twice, bought screen replacement twice for under @30USD and works like new again. - never had serious lag - never had serious heating without the fast charger - perhaps size and weight are the only problem i have, but then again, i am used to it.

  • Technically it is an upgrade, but actually it is a reversed update to Lollipop. And yes it did solve my bluetooth and battery drain issues.

  • The memory issue was not from Asus, it was the well-known android 5.0 memory leak issue.

  • battery last 6h with constant using.

  • You must download it manually.

  • This phone is good but I cannot recommend it for everyone because of many things. 1. ASUS never release an official FOTA Marshmallow update for zenfone 2 ze551ml. They did release an downloadable update but not entirely stable and I read many users regret updating because plenty of bugs. 2. At some point when I updated the firmware, SIM 2 slot has been malfunctioning ever since. Even there's sim inserted sometimes it cannot detect the sim so i had to restart the phone in order to detect it. But it happens frequently so I gave up using Sim 2 slot. 3. Battery drains so quickly. Even in standby mode the phone hardly last a day. ASUS promised to release official Android marshmallow update FOTA but never happened. Asus Zenfone 2 ze551ml will be the last Asus phone i will ever purchase and stick to phone brands that continue to support their previous phones with updates.

  • Battery drains faster than i expected. I am so disappointed. Do not buy this phone.

  • I bought new Asus phone that has already a broken screen. Not recommended.

  • user dont buy this phone total waste of money , every i am facing problem with home screen key and multi app key not working after downgrade to lollipop. In Marshmellow version battery getting drained 15% in 30 min even ur mobile at stand by.

  • Do not buy any Asus cell phones I purchased my zenphone2 three months into having it pluged it to charge it died completely for no reason my cell is in mint condition treat it like a baby ...sent it back I have done this 4 times sent it back 4 times... their repair service takes far too long the replacement is another headache all together not worth the headaches other companies repair and replace are fast not Asus now my phone has been sitting there since 23 rd of december its and no replacement yet and I'm out of a phone when I called them theory said I have to wait foir and email that could take 5 to 7 days to reply in order to get exchangec so what was I waiting for all this time will never buy Asus again

  • Is that true? Wow i think i must buy a new phone...

  • does downgrade to lollipop solve battery problems?

  • That's right

  • same thing happen to me when i bought my first smartphone the asus zenfone 5 .it was fantastic the first year then after that it started heating up like hell and for some reason asus zen ui (lollipop 5.0) have bad memory management and the phone lags to much and i had to switch to other phone and never bought asus again.

  • Most of the ghost touch problems came from over heating ( using the fastcharger while playing games or heavy tasks ) can replace the lcd, costs only 30usd -ish. In my exp, the original 9V fast charger works damn good, but dont even think to do some heavy task with your phone while at it, esp* watching hi-res youtube video streaming. It is better to charge with a standard 2 Amps charger, cooler and perhaps only 30 mins slower.

  • Dont update to marshmallow. Or do update, and find the reverse update to lollipop. Marshmallow will mess with your battery life.

  • Had ghost touch issues within the first six months. While it was resolved in 3 weeks (I thought that was good enough for me considering I was promised that it can take more than 1 month), I am now experiencing loose socket issue on its 3.5 mm jack. Still 3 months before my warranty expires. I like the overall package even more than the current Zenfone 3 lineup (decent, if somewhat incompatible at times processor, adequate amount of RAM, decent storage space and highly competitive price) but I am sort of disappointed with the durability side. Waiting for the upcoming Nokia outings and hoping their new phones will be built like tanks.

  • You need to update it manually from ZenTalk Forums

  • Still waiting for marshmallow updates...

  • it is good brand with high specs.. but as android user.. once the phone aged 1 year old.. the problem will arise.. and for me.. the phone keep restarting.. the solution i made is to format the phone.. and 2 months after format.. the phone become laggy and heating..

  • the touch screen can be easily damage

  • I have this phone about 1,3 years, and it works very well without lags.

  • Hi , i have been using Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML(4GB) from last 1.5 years.. but suddenly it stop to detect OTG pendrive where the same pendrive is working in other mobile phone. Could any one support to resolve the issue? //Palash

  • Im used it until now no problem at all. Maybe your phone itself need to be checked. Don't blame on the brand unless it really worst.

  • yup, no update for marshmallow yet

  • Worst phone ever used.. ghost touch problem that hauls me for 1 yrs plus and finally decided change phone. Battery drop fast for 4/64gb especially dual sim mode on. Will never consider use back asus again.

  • Is this good for vr games? thanks

  • Me to.. 😭

  • My phone camera is not working. It shows me : failed to open camera, please reboot your device and try again."

  • Worst model...Ghost touches, proximity not working battery dead in just 1 yr's time...Bad camera - grainy pics even in daylight...bad software updates...not recommended

  • its support 4g

  • great phone at an awsome price. This was my first smart phone and I'll never buy another brand. Asus is just incredible. Hail our chinese overlords.

  • Yes

  • nope

  • is this phone support Volte feature?

  • CPU processor is good, high GPU render, good camera, and good battery life. But some games doesn't support on this phone. It because of Intel processor.

  • RAM also affected a game, if you have a high GPU & CPU render but small RAM, your game still not working smoothly (if your RAM almost full also)

  • Somebody given cmnt are says only for ghost touch prblm.. Frnd tell me this mble i will buy but this mble gud or not?

  • it's so fragile,speakers won't work properly,hangs way too much ..don't buy it.It's a waste of money

  • Sometimes the cause of Ghost Touch is the tempered glass especially cheap ones. Got my 1st cheap tempered glass(installed it on first day) and thought that my ZF2 is having touchscreen problem. Ditched my cheap TG and got a branded one. No problem with Ghost Touch (and proximity sensor).

  • Are you sure you are talking about asus zenfone 2?😂😂

  • yep this guy is totally correct....ram just plays fulfilling task in gaming and major part is played by the GPU and CPU

  • hahahah who said u that higher ram gives better gaming....bru higher ram gives u better multitasking options game performance is mainly affected by cpu and gpu..

  • if you have 4GB it will allow you to work of multiple apps faster same goes with games..

  • Don't update to MM. You'll make your phone shitty

  • How many hours battery standing at 4gb ram?

  • Sir, the one who is responsible in GRAPHIC GAMES is GPU (GRAPHIC PROCESSING UNIT) not the ram. GPU renders 3D graphics. RAM is (RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY) that responsible for the storage of arithmetic and logic that CPU uses for processing data.. thats all i know. correct me if im wrong. even though you have a highest ram in the phone, but you have the lowest GPU, 3D games wont work smooth and fast.

  • 3000 mAH

  • 4 GB, it is the one responsible in processing your graphic games

  • why updat Android OS, v5.0 (Lollipop), upgradable to v6.0 (Marshmallow) in Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML

  • Me too

  • Whr u buy it?yaa mine at box said made in china.i think it should not have any problem coz probably they must got license n also still used original material.arghhh damn just bought not even 1day and have prob. Sudden blackout.have sent to waranty and they said motherboard prob..😠😠😠&amp;#128544;..but they said will replace it...w'll see..mmm

  • 1.What are the different between 2gb ram or 4gb ram.? 2.which one is best for high game processor to support with 2gb or 4gb?

  • Both have a same graphics. Both using PowerVR G6430, iPhone 5S graphics

  • Myzenfone2 got broken screen. What should I do? Buy new phone or have it fixed? Help me decide. If I'll buy, what asus is best?

  • most of these guys bought the copy chiness version, I bought the USA version and it works great no issues.

  • Wtf..i just bought this z2 i browse internet n go to youtube when the video is playing it suddenly shutdown.and can switch on.have to wait or plug in charger to switch on the phone.the batery remain 60% left.any suggestion?

  • Excellent phone! Highly recommend it. Some tips (albeit obvious) for newer Android users: 1. Keep your screen brightness down to conserve battery life. Don't use battery apps!!! 2. Go to settings, then storage, and then look through all of your apps. Force stop/clear data, and disable every app you do not use to free up space and have less background processes. 3. Move any app that allows it to an external micro sd to, again, save space. 4. Every day, go to storage and look for cache, and clear cache to once again free up space. 5. (optional) power off your device every once in a while. It helps. Hope this helps some folks! Enjoy your devices! 😎

  • Which one is graphics best 2gb ram or 4gb ram? Which one is long time battery capacity 2gb or 4gb?

  • It will not update automatically because there were some issues after the update. If you want to update you will have to do it manually.

  • there is a beta version around

  • asus zenfone 2 i wrote this comment that if u have this phone what so bad but yesterday i bought the smartphone i download some games the temperature of the phone increase but the were good graphics and clear that phone i better that samsung note 4 and 5

  • I bought this phone on 30 Nov this year, but I still didn't get Marshmallow update until now. How long I need to wait until I get this update?

  • Android M has been available since August 31 bro, what are you talking about? Also it works amazing! I've been running for months with exactly no issues...

  • ASUS ZenFone 2 ze551ml 4gb RAMbattery capacity please tell me friend

  • Overall is ok, but you need to prepare a powerbank due to battery capacity is too small to support 2.3GHz processor.

  • ASUS phones and computers are fantastic. They performed above expectations. You can rank ASUS with big names such as APPLE and SAMSUNG. ASUS Products are good

  • if you buy this phone in gearbest , when the phone arrives to USA they charge taxes for you?

  • Plz add voLTE...

  • Plzz..tell me frnds is this mobile good or not? and any problem have this mobile

  • tou have 2 years guarantee at least , omg

  • THE BEST!!! realy realy all poits of views and performance this is superb!!, I was probe all allllll brands ALL and my choice is ASUS by far the BEST (beast too..hoho) buy it..trust

  • I just used it for 4 months and the screen always flickers and I just found out it's usually the problem encountered by other asus zenfone 2 users. I just wasted my P15k, never again asus!

  • I bought this phone 1 year ago. The first 6 months i didn't have any issues, but last several months it started doing very anoying bugs. When somebody is calling me, the display is blocking and does not respond. Also when i'm calling someone and the line is busy, the display is blocking again. After restart everything is fine. This issue happens 4-5 times per day and i'm very angry about it. I wrote several times to Asus, but nobody replied. I think it is a software problem, not hardare. Anyway, because of this bug and because of the non responding from their side most probably i will never buy Asus again. I was very excited from the beginning, but afte the 6th month i was very dissapointed.

  • Who is interested,I found a price promotion of BlackFriday:

  • Hey, I am experiencing the same issue (LCD Screen hardware issue). You need to get it into a service centre and they will replace the LCD for free. Just bring along your proof of purchase.

  • Go for Samsung.. better chipset, hardware and performance.. dont buy this crap

  • The phone is capable of Asphalt 8 or even Asphalt Extreme. Its just that the hardware is unreliable. You might end up throwing your phone after 3mos or so

  • same here, dude.. its a hardware issue that Asus needs to address

  • I hate this phone! the screen flickers and half of the screen turned black. The first unit that i bought lost its loud speaker after 3 days then i have to rush it to the service centre to have it replaced. My experienced with Asus ZenFone 2 was not impressive at all. I will never buy any products nor recommend it to my friends, families and colleagues. I hope Asus will find time to address these hardware issues or they will continue ripping consumers off!

  • I don't know how to say since many haters said that this phone is worst but for me, this phone i absolutely great.. They said the life span is 1 year or less but i used it 2 years, nothing wrong. They said performance is worst but it didn't happen to me.. The reason why my phone sometimes laggy is because i rooted the phone ( just imagine, you have 2 gb ram and 8 gb storage and you just like "well, let's shove another 12 gb files in this phone and see what happen" ofc, the phone will become laggy ). The only bad is if you're gamer like me, don't buy this phone.. not because of battery, but some game is not supported in intel-type phone

  • I purchased the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML June 2015. By August 2015 the screen was all black. I ended up purchasing a ZTE and used that for four months until I had the Zenfone shipped to a refurbishment center to get it corrected. Over the last two month there have been issues getting the phone to charge as well as to power up. The phone is no reliable enough for heavy users.

  • Is this phone good for gaming? If I played Asphalt 8, can I set to high graphic settings?

  • ASUS's own support page:

  • Edit to my previous post: Hardware is good, except for 1) camera sucks, and 2) battery life is awful, which was supposed to be fixed with upgrade to Android M, but given ASUS's past performance, that seems unlikely to ever happen.

  • Have used this phone for over one year and a half. No problems at all, amazing camera and smooth performance overall

  • Should you buy this phone? Hardware is good. Customer support sucks. No update to Android M even after many very public promises. Advise that you avoid all ASUS phones for exactly this reason. Read the many comments here, and you will see that I'm not the only one with this opinion.

  • I have this phone 16 month's. I am very satisfied with this, all work perfect and it is very good quality. Before one week I order one more for my best friend.

  • Never buy this phone, never buy a phone with Intel processor

  • Overall I can say this is a good phone for the price range. But this phone has a non-removable battery, and that's always a pain in the ass. And by the way if you're a heavy instagram user, for some reason Boomerang doesn't work on my Asus zf2

  • I brought this phone on June 2015, Last week my phone is dead.

  • should i buy this phone?????????????? if yes why and if u have can u tell the disadantage of this phone

  • Ghost touches are a big problem on this phone. Support is incompetent.

  • I have had the ze551ml since June of last year and am still very happy with it. I look at what is available for the same price, ans I think I will keep mine for now.

  • This product is not worth of money, i used to get 1 or another problem every now and then, cheap hardware quality,

  • The touchscreen stops working after a while, mine broke after 3 months. Its a factory flaw. All in all its a super phone.

  • seems like none of you here have the banding problem. my phone started having the screen display showing vertical bandings =.= tried to disable hw overlays but didnt work.

  • What is best, samsung galaxy j3 2016 or asus zenfone 2, its really important to me a good camera, spead and the memory, pls help me really urgent

  • How to upgrade to Android 6 in Asus Z 2 ?

  • I agreed.Lollipop is quite stable and beautiful.

  • I bought my phone more than two years already..i dropped it more than 10X but still working..so worth it for the price i have paid...buying a new asus zenfone 2 again..user friendly and very cheap.. I love it!!!! :)

  • Asus's repair department is quite expensive and the most unhelpful I have ever spoken to. I do not recommend buying their phones.

  • Yes you are right.... I m having such problem since i bought.... And you can't even play games.... Ghost touch sucks.... But apart from this, this phone is really awesome...

  • Ghost touches have become a problem after less than a year of owning the phone; causing the screen to jump around all over the place. Pictures taken by the camera are less than satisfactory. Speed good, memory ample. Support not very good, rather incompetent staff. I probably wouldn't buy one again.

  • asus service record after sevice is really disappointing.....think again friends before buy.

  • Hey Jimmy. I had the same issue recently. What needs to be done is: remove the battery cover, u screw the backing of the phone itself from the battery pack and use a screw driver to detach the batterycked from the device wait 60 seconds..then reconnect it.tmThe unit should vibrate it begin turning in shortly thereafter. YouTube has a video on this. Good luck!

  • i have phone like this the screen is flikering its annoying

  • i have same mobile, i request to all buyer please, don't buy any asus mobile..... mobile is not working well, not good services after sell, they are not taking any responsibility of them product.... i had face to much problem with asus zenfone 2...

  • it says to Dual Sim settings "sim 2 not installed"... my zenfone cant read sim 2,tried to restart my phone....but still same problem...

  • Most likely you will have to go to a repair shop. They can take out the battery and put it back in to get it to turn on but the battery is most likely the issue. I recently had my phone's charging port changed and have gone back to the repair shop to have the battery removed and reinserted.

  • My Zenfone 2 has had issues since I purchased it in June 2015. It had to be sent back to the factory last year due to the screen being completely black which was most likely a software update issue. Now, I have had the charging port changed but the problem most likely is the battery. Was using a different phone from August 2015 to December 2015 until I had sent the phone back to the factory for the software issue. Really cannot understand why a phone like this has so many issues. It does have 4 Gigs of Ram and 64 Gigs of internal memory. Sounded like a bargain compared to a Samsung Galaxy S6 but the issues make this phone highly unreliable.

  • Can anyone tell me why "Connection Problem or Invalid MMI Code" shows when I dial USSD code? How can I solve that problem?

  • I am using this phone for two months above. In that time, I have to go to service center for various reasons. But now I am facing a serious problem, that is when I try to run USSD code (i.e. to check balance etc.), the phone shows "Connection problem or invalid MMI code". Can anyone tell me what is the reason for that problem and how it can be solved?

  • my zenfone2 551ml is dead after I tried to connect it via usb cable with my laptop. not turning on or no reaction at all. anybody pls help me with this

  • Does this unit support wireless charging?

  • I bought this phone year ago,its was good until the problem with the screen ,the screen flick as soon as I put the display to never sleep.plus no Marshmallow update yet, what is this company doing!DON'T BUY PHONES!

  • You have to call 18002090365 they will provide you a direct link to download Android marshmallow. But i suggest you not to upgrade to marshmallow the lollipop is awesome.

  • Reboot your phone.

  • Does it have 4g on both SIM?

  • Had this phone for more than two years now. No problem whatsoever. And still ranked 24 on antutu even after two yers from the release date.

  • How is game proformence

  • best phone forever..perfect..no issues

  • I cant make my calls on jio 4g in this device plz help me i have installed gio 4g voice but not working. Can anybody give me some clue what should i do

  • I am one of those people bought this phone during its launch period. Till now i haven't experienced any major issues using this phone. This is a Very good phone according to me. I have updated my phone to marshmallow last month. It affected the stability of my phone a little bit. It freezes randomly during some operations. I haven't experienced any ghost touch problems yet. May be my asus flip cover helped me to protect my screens.

  • a big portion of my job is to be on my phone at all times during the day (I'm the social media and marketing coordinator) I can get 2 days worth of battery on my phone working from 930Am-6pm and various little things at night like my sister texting me. I never let it die though.. I usually just put it on the charger before I go to bed and it's sitting at roughly 55% each night when I go to bed.

  • I have had my Zenphone for about 5 months...I don't do any of the things you describe and am very...I mean OCD level meticulous with my things. Had a case from day one and screen protector. Yet 5 months in I had to send my phone back for warranty repair due to the ghost touch issue. Don't assume everyone is careless with their device. You just never know when your number might come up for this issue. It's a pretty well known problem out there.

  • How many hours standing battery

  • This phone worked for about a year but then I have this random ghost touches while typing. Frustrating indeed to have a poor quality phone from a company that prides itself of quality products, not this phone. My confidence in Asus phone is just not high anymore and will no longer recommend any phone from Asus until I'm convinced that this quality issue is not prevalent on all Asus phones.

  • I have last week on the Phone ''Return to Factory Settings'' performed. Since then the OS versoin of Android remains ANDROID 5.0 Lollipop. The Phone finds no update.. Do you have any ideea why It is not possible to update to Android M? Best regards, thanks in advance!

  • Boy, this phone does not have official update to Android M. Remove that, also the phone is pure shit. It comes with a defective problem that it gets locked on smartcover without you using any. A problem that came from the Zenfone 5. The only way to fix that is MRA so if you buy it just get ready to send to MRA. There are no factory reset or anything that can fix that. The camera is slow, I mean, very very very slow and apps keeps crashing for no reason. Only good thing I got from it is the battery that lasts 3 days since I don't use it to much to not get PTSD.

  • or you could just throw it screen first onto a brick wall or throw it in the middle of the road in heavy traffic.should totally fix the problem either way...

  • i'm kinda appalled looking at all these negative opinions about the Zenfone 2.mine has been working pretty well up till now and it still works well.its either you people don't know how to handle your phone with care or you don't fully understand how your phone works.this 'ghosting screen' issue seem to happen to a lot of you and the only solution is to stop putting your phone on your back pockets to avoid sitting on it and as a result, cause damage to the digitizer which causes this 'ghosting screen' problem.also stop wearing tight pants and forcing the phone in your pockets which causes the screen to slightly bend and affect the digitizer.if you guys can't take good care of your Zenfone,go get a Nokia 3310 or something.

  • U r mobile volume going down When u insert ur headfone, please try to change different headfone

  • Asus zenfone seemed like the best choice for an affordable but still good quality phone. I've been using it for a little over a year, and all it wants to do now is phantom glitch the shit out of my day. I can barely use it for more than a few days without problems. It'll mostly phantom touch the screen near the top, so any type of social media or googling is delayed x100 because I can't get the damned screen to stay in one place to type. I will never buy an asus product again, esp after reading that this is a common problem and asus is not doing anything about it. It is an extremely frustrating problem that I never had to deal with until now.

  • Yo man, my experience with zenfone 2 is the same with you lol. Zen 2 is quite a nice phone but yeah, like every product, no product is perfect, they will have one or two or three or more defect but nonetheless Zen 2 is worth to buy tho.

  • hello! just update your faceook in google play.

  • just buy other brand of fone like bokia

  • Well, I was decided to pick this phone because I saw a lot of reviews saying that's a good device and because of it's hardware. But now everyone here is complaining A LOT about it that I don't even know anymore. I was between the Zenfone 2 and Zenfone Selfie. Now I just don't know what to buy anymore, since all others is more expensive with 'less hardware'.

  • If you have a plan to buy ASUS ZenPhone 2 ZE551ML, consider these limitations: 1. Erratic G Sensor. There's no calibration settings. 2. The Data connection only available on SIM 1. So you can't switch mobile data to SIM 2. 3. Auto light sensor are not "smart", low brightness in highest setting. 4. The bottom case isn't flat, the device moving like a boat. 5. ZenUI auto-update reinstall Zen Circle even that app already disabled.

  • How many hours standard charge by this mobile

  • I had the same problem.. thought because of the software issue but after upgrade to custom rom also the ghost touch is still there. This is definitely hardware problem. For temporary i used the lighter igniter and spark directly at the screen.. solved the problem for awhile but after few day the ghost touch came back.. i changed the lcd then the ghost touch gone permanently

  • shame on asus if that's what happened to u man !! i also have encountered a similar proble mwith moto x force !!! this is really so bad !!!

  • [4gb RAM, 64gb internal] Not gonna lie, first few month i use it, it was very nice. Then some of the apps seems to hang, freeze and what not.. To make it worse now, the screen completely black out, it takes very long time to view the screen T^T I even considered to buy new phone, but then, not enough money.. sobss T^T Around 20/11 next month, my phone is 1 year old~

  • mine was bought last year when it just release the 4gb ram version..still working good..i give 10/10 for durability ..I drop definitely more than 20 times @ around height of 1metre .I had never use a casing since 1st day and what I did is only apply temper glass screen protector for the phone...the camera sux big time even though is 13mp...I had just change my back casing + a new screen protector from ebay at around 6usd..and the phone look as good as new .. LOL..do take note this phone I felt is quite heavy compare to lg g4.

  • Just about an year (15 months) ago, I bought this Asus Zenfone 2 with 4gb RAM and 64gb HD for $299. Last week I did accept the system update pushed by ASUS and it did install and while re-booting it just went blank screen and never switched on again. Tried charging overnight and then tried fastboot without any success. It does not even vibrate when power+up volume button pressed. I called Asus customer service and the answer I got was warranty has expired and the estimated cost of repair will be $165. This phone broke soon after the warranty expired. That's all the life of Asus phones??? I lost my trust in Asus products and their system update software. Looking for a much better phone with a reasonable price. Not sure which one to go far. Hope this review helps others in deciding whether to go far Asus mobile phone or not.

  • I don't understand why you buy Old model update with the new device and latest OS version.Intel is no more in mobile market and all Intel powered mobile having so many issues.Don't buy Old model buy new devices. In old model consider only Nexus 6 2014,2015,and Samsung Note 5,or iPhone 6 6 Plus or 6s ,6s Plus in low range buy Moto G 3rd or Moto X Play,(Moto G 4 Plus is best Smartphone under 15K) everything in this phone is perfect. All these devices will serves you great.

  • this phone sucks big time. my camera crashes all the time, battery drains like crazy and gets freakin slow eventually. Good for nothing.

  • Any news about VoLTE support?

  • I'm using Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML. After upgraded to Android M, there is Audio jack Connected notification and the phone sound off as if the head set is connected. Anyone knows how to fix the error ? Please share. Already took the device to Asus service center but according to them, I have to replace the main board and it cost me a lot. Thanks.

  • Exactly the same problems for me. Would steer clear of ASUS phones for sure.

  • Why my Zenfone 2 no video call on facebook?

  • Seems that I'm very lucky because I have any issue with my Zenfone 2... I took the cheaper version with Atom Z2560, 2 GB/16GB. My only complaint is about the camera: don't think that it's very good - just average.

  • This phone really makes me sad, too many problems, ghost touches, broken buttons, bad battery life also bad service.

  • I purchased asus zene2 4 gb ram 32 gb rom from flipkart during latest sale. This is very cheap quality phone. Wi fi missing. They send me replacement but second time product not charged.Totaly dead mobile. So beware of this mobile phone .

  • As my asus zenfone 2 4gb version was under warranty, the service centre replaced motherboard as well as lcd panel to get rid of the only problem i faced (i.e. GHOST TOUCHES which were getting more severe day by day) they started around July August period in most of the asus zenfone 2 sets i guess, must be due to some software update.

  • My phone was under warranty.. Had problem of ghost touch and it got severe day by day... I gave it to service centre, they changed screen panel and motherboard and returned my mobile after a day.

  • You may want to check again..sim 1 for vice and date to 4g, sim 2 for voice and data to 2g

  • I was able to get rid of ghost touch of my zenfone 2 ze551ml. all you need is an electronic lighter. remove the igniter of it, and use it in a part that has a ghost touch. you need to enable 'show touch' of your device first. Hope this would help you.

  • U r jojking it is not thin or light

  • U R Right

  • Unfortuantely, you will have to purchase a new smartphone. i had the same issue and thats the only way i could fix my little problem.

  • Same problem encountered here. Any solution you had gathered? Thank you.

  • Did anyone here found the solution for ghost screen movement? If not Im going to throw this fone on the wall and wrecked it.

  • I have had the 4GB model for over a year now and have been incredibly happy with it. This is my four Android and one of the best (for the money)!

  • After m update ze551ml volte provision flag shows off but not working when checked at testing mode (*#*#4636#*#*) please help if anyone know the solution.

  • By far the WORST POSSIBLE PHONE IN THE HISTORY OF SMARTPHONES!!!! I have been using this phones since last 2 years and this phones has been nothing but a pain in the a**. I have been using this phone just for whatsapp and internet surfing. never have i installed any game/ high performance consuming apps.It has multiple issues like Sim card not getting detected, OVERHEATING problem, Factory data will not be reset, It will not turn off. NEVER EVER BUY THIS PHONE...WASTE OF MONEY!! EVEN SERVICE CENTER QUALITY OF SERVICE IS NOT GOOD... I have taken this phone 5 times within 3 months. Really disappointed from ASUS... Had huge expectations from you.

  • Everyone

  • it is possible to play NBA 2K17 on this phone?

  • New MM update....144sensor bug fixed

  • Does anyone have the ghost touch problem?

  • I'm very happy with this excelent phone.

  • It's very high heating

  • Excellent phone! 2 days battery charge. I have it and i'm really happy...

  • How many hours standing battery... Normally watching video how many hours standing battery for this mobile? Please tell me...i will buy this mobile?

  • I m very confused...which mobile is better asus zenfone 2 or zenfone 3... Which is high graphics ?

  • Very poor battery backup. I charged phone about 100% After one hour 20% very bad.

  • Sim2 is not eligible for data,,only one Sim can be data other one for voice.....becoz I already checked

  • Camera issues in video recording, it autozooms when starts recording even in Android 6.0.1. Lots of bloatware, uninstall or disable to save battery. Don't buy 4GB RAM models, when the OS begins to occupy more than 2GB battery drains faster, and reboot is neccesary.

  • I am using this phone for 1 year and 6 months. I advise all of you do not use ASUS phone. Within 1 and half years I faced lot of problems:- 1) My phone screen was shattered and I have to replace by paying out of pocket. 2) I had replace back panel twice 3) I had issues with Camera 4) I had issue with 1st sim slot and had to replace the same that out of pocket. I have decided not to use ASUS any product in my life time. I warned & advise you to stay away from ASUS if you want to save time and money.

  • Ok friends! Got this handset about a month back. Only issue in the battery! Tried everything from Zentalk, wipe cache, hard reset, battery calibration. Lastly upgraded to Android M 6.0.1. No issues after upgrading, phone is faster than ever. But still no change in Android OS consuming the hell out of the battery. Never seen anyhthng like this before. Thinking about rooting it and see the wakelock pattern. But the process of rooting it, is cumbersome after upgrading to Android M! One false step and you are done for. Any new ideas friends??

  • better to look for another phone... life span 1 yr.

  • Very wrist battery life in a day charge 2-3 time and overheating during charging and calling

  • It was a great phone for the first 6 months and then it went to hell. I highly recommend look for another phone, this phone has a very short life span

  • Very happy by my Zenfone 2 and updated to Android 6.0. My only regret is I bought the 2GB (ram) version because it was at 199$ but I think that I should have taken the 4GB version.

  • 3000mAh battery is not enough for 5.5 display..

  • Im disappointing for battery.. 3000mAh is not enough for 5.5 display..

  • Jus got this phone n it is awesome phone. Very thin, light,8MP camera, nice screen, very nice. Go ahead n buy this. U will be happy.

  • I have had this phone less then a year and I am sad to say it has many problems.Bought it through a phone shops that bought it from another shop. Will not fix it just offered me 50% of sale price.Never again. I have an ASUS flip 17" and it is the best.Seems only to be their Zen2 that is bad.

  • To enjoy d phone, insert d sim before switchin on, fo to factory settin with d phone inside. D phone is superb.

  • Insert d two Sims and restart d phone to factory setting, it will start workin perfect.

  • Trust me, it's good.

  • This is so fast features phone so you can easily buy about this

  • This is the WORST phone I have ever had in my life. Neither of the sim cards slots work. The screen randomly glitches and WON'T stop until I throw it in the ground. I've had two of these shi**y phones within 2 or 3 months of each other. Never again will I use this brand out this phone. ASUS IS THE F***ING WORSE!!!!!! I'D GIVE 0 STARS.

  • This is a great phone, I've had it since January 2016, the only issue is that for t-mobile it lacks band 12, so you will not get LTE in a lot of places, you will get 4G mostly all the time, but if you like streaming videos a lot, than is not recommended for t-mobile, you should have no issues on at&t, the software is very useful, a lot of people complain not upgrading to android 6, but to be honest, Asus does a lot of updates to keep the phone in top performance.

  • Same problem with my phone I used 13 month this phone and visit 8to10 time customer care

  • I used this phone 13 month Sim slote not working after few days of repairing.... Sim 1 have very poor network... Automatic switch off and automatically run apps... In 13 month 8 time visit phone in customer care..

  • It is a wonderful phone, go ahead. I Liked it

  • are you help me is a phone quality is well or not?

  • please say is the phone good and if there is any fault please say it truly

  • Worst smartphone I've had. The sim slot is faulty and the micro some slips out 2 x a day. Asus will repair but it will take 2 months after I send them my phone to send it back. Look up this problem it is very common to this phone. This phone also "buttdials" all the time. It never locks. All of a sudden my phone starts playing music or calling the emergency dial. Wtf??? Apple never did this.

  • i am using this phon for 1 month. and i am happy with the performance

  • Is Z2 ZE551ML and ASUS Z00AD the same model?

  • asus zenfone 2.(Model : Asus_ZOOAD) My sim 2 shows not available but sim 1 is working. but any kind of voice call is not available through Sim1 (except internet call like fb messenger, viber etc). What is the reason for this problem???

  • Hi, i'm considering this as my next phone. It's either this or s7. Any advice?

  • Got the phone back from the Asus Service Center - they fixed it in one single day (although the phone was returned after a week since sent, because of the courier company). The issue was the display module, which was replaced entirely. Hopefully, they did not messed up other things, because now I have a soft annoying noise in the ear speaker during phone calls, but I can live with it.

  • unlock the bootloader on ur device by downloding the official unlocking app by asus and the install custom recovery like TWRP by the help of a pc......ull get the info of installing this....its simple....just install adb and fastboot ,ull get these on xda forums...then download twrp for zenfone 2 z00a from the official twrp website...the write the commands in cprompt.....after getting recovery installed u can go to twrp by pressing volume up and power key together ..select reboot to recovery and them install cm13 from there......just head over to youtube ....one thing...fm radio does not work in cm13 for this device

  • how did u installed CM13? newbie here

  • You can find a specific tutorial on the Asus forum which explains how to recalibrate your battery after a main update. I don't have the issue myself but others users have it.

  • Bad Hardware Display, replaced with recurrence of the same problem 1/4 of the screen is unreadable

  • I use apple earpods and samsung earphones just fine

  • Hear that Intel mother board got expired only 1 year plus lasting used

  • Why we can't use different brand earphone??any reason??

  • I just got my zf2 from asus center.hope my probem won't happen again

  • My 1 year-old ZF2 just came back from the Asus repair center. They replaced the motherboard but the issue is still there. It randomly shutdowns when the battery level goes below 20%. Buyers beware.

  • Hi same problem for me, are you using a different brand ear phone? if so kindly discontinue it. I too had the same problem and it is rectified..

  • Hi. Bought this mobile (new model) few days ago. I think battery runs out to quickly. In the morning fully charged battery in the night completely runs out - it does not pass the 24 hours. I don't use the phone much in my job, after work I'm browsing the internet - that is all. Is it normal? Maybe problem is that the phone bought from the shop stand?

  • Android MM official: My battery was 80% last night No background was runnung,my wifi was on I let the phone be awake This morning was 20% !!! I checked the phone,no app was in the background I "power and boost" the phone, changed it to super saving But after one hour, the phone was off !!! I dont know what happened, but something drained the battery very bad. Lots of people had the same problem when I described it in XDA

  • cm13 is cyanogenmod 13 which is a custom rom or os based on android 6.0..

  • yes, it is great telephone. I enjoy it. It is superior in nearly everything even than iphones, and for like 1/3 of prize. However I would reccomend you to buy newer ZenFone models :)

  • Is this fone worth to buy ....?

  • What is cm13

  • CM13 works excellent on ZE551ML! I have been using it for quite some time. Performance is better, use significantly less memory! Just be noted that the following are not working at the moment: - Display turns black for 2-5 seconds sometimes when some apps change the display mode. Just wait for a few seconds & things will work fine. - No FM Radio. - ASUS Cover app does not work fine.

  • 6 months back i have upgraded my phone from Samsung to Asus, i want to tell u the features about this, First of all ,i have never expected that no other phones can be bad as like Samsung but Asus broke that. Initialy i faced- call was getting disconnect automatically and after 2 months it was started hanging and it's as bad as Samsung. Camera quality z too worst and also battery backup. Its key button and power button seems like very ordinary as like they hav just done welding in a regular shop. i am not able to send a image file or else i would hav send it. Fact is i am not only 1 user getting this problem.my other friends are also using Asus having similar probelm. Initially u will feel there z no phone like Asus after 4-5 months u will feel the same but in a reverse way. Overall i would prefer to repair my old Samsung phone and use rather taking a new Asus.

  • This product was a waste of money for me and material for the mother nature. Microphone broke in less than a year and no one can hear me unless I use earplugs or loudspeaker! Screen has gone crazy too. randomly calls people, zooms in and out, flickers, get unresponsive etc. No proper support service either. So regretful of trusting this company

  • For double tap to screen off you change it in settings-->zen motion-->touch gesture-->screen off and make it ON. After update some settings have changed. LED indication still not yet resolved.

  • guy i would advise u all to stop using the asus zenui and flash cm13 .....i am saying this becoz many ppl including had faced motherboard faliure...my story is with two phone..one was zenfone 5 whose motherboard was burnt(een without intensive usage) and the other was zf2 of my relative...it got bad just after the end pf warranty and he was asked to pay 16k.......j know that asus is best in motherboard but believe me guys they are worst in software ..they just roll out softwares without proper testing and the after effects are faulty devices with burnt mobo and other issues..now as chanogenmod officially supports this deviC its awesome...cm13 works like charm and at any time u will get more than 3 gb of ram free...cm13 is having each and every feature which zenui has...rapid charge, double tap to wake, camera md other lock screen gestures etc....so my kind advise to increase the life of ur devices is to unlock ur devices bootloader, install custom recovery like twrp or cwm and then just take the best out of ur phone with cm13.......moreover in just comming months it will get android 7 via cm14...

  • it works awesome....its the best i would say...fast charging ,double tap to wake...everything is working and there are no bugs......after getting fed up with the zenui mm i took this step and now i can feel the real power of this dragon

  • man i did the same amd got over 62000 in antutu benchmark....cm13 is just awesome.it will get cm14 in coming months

  • I am buying it

  • Asus released the Android 6.0 update and pulled it out from their website because of some bugs. What I've heard is they will fix those bugs and release a new Android 6.0 update in the coming weeks.

  • Likely the screen is going havoc.

  • After my last update home button and recent button does not work. Even quick settings is unavailable. Notifications could be seen either. I have notifs bit i cannot see them because quick setting is unavailable. Please help? To those who have experienced this in their asus zenfone 2. Mine is laser. And i upgraded to marshmallow. After i upgraded to marshmallow. It was working fine. But just the latest update. Now its not very efficient.

  • i installed cyanogen 6.0 on my device and now it runs even better. on basemark x i got 18548 and 1111 overall score on the OS II. Im quite happy with my device since my last one was a g2 mini.

  • I have bought Asus ZenFone 2 ZE551ML (Intel 2.3GHz, 4GB RAM) one year ago (Romania). I was very pleased of it and the phone worked very fine. Even updated to Android M and everything worked fine - no issues. But, now there is an issue: - About a month ago the screen started not to be so crisp as usual, the text and icons have some sort of shadows under (like melting). Even some gray vertical lines seem to be visible sometimes (very dimmed) on the whole screen. - Almost weeks ago, the phone started to have big issues: it does not display/update the image entirely on the screen (80% of the screen is either black, or only shows some colored vertical lines), but the touch screen is functioning (sometimes, I manage to launch some apps and the display works for them, but it does not in the usual screens/menus - app drower, OS menus, scrolls etc.). I even disabled hardware overlays and completely reset the phone (hard reset), but to no avail. Now I'm about to send it to warranty... after paying around 330euros and using it for a year :( Great phone, but I've seen many people complaining about the same issue I have. Also, we have been waiting too long for the Android M update. I'm a big fan of the Asus products (PC-related stuff) and I didn't expect for this to happen in the smartphone area.

  • is this asus zenfon 2 have a multi window like samsung ?

  • Thumbs down Asus!!!! Your motherboard kaput exactly after the expiry of the warranty. What a waste investing in this device. I am very unhappy with it. Two major problem in 12 month! No more Asus in future for me.

  • Don't worry. The downgrade procedure is a standard after each main update. I'm using the official Marsmallow on my Zenfone 2 (no technical issue for now).

  • Asus released a downgrade from Marshmallow to Lollipop I'm using Marshmallow but most of the sensors like proximity and gyroscope aren't working. Hope Asus fix it soon.

  • The MM update is horrible. I updated to MM and factory reset my phone, wiped cache partition, and still the phone HANGS A LOT after the update. It keeps hanging and you have to restart the phone everytime it happens. I restart the phone like 10 times a day. Hope Asus release update for bug fixes.

  • ha ha ha

  • System update is good for asus zenfone 2 or not. Because the service centre in the neharu place the service centre executive says pls do not udate the system because the system updating is not good for asus mobiles after updation the mobile will creating hanging problem so much when using data connection or wifi. • which device would u preffer for the value of money

  • it's a very good smartphone, I've just upgraded it to Android MM without any problems, no bugs, everything's ok, all sensors are working fine. It has so many improvements you surely will love! ASUS delayed rolling out MM, but I think it worth it waiting for MM. very smooth rom...

  • for me... after updating to M, all sensors are working.

  • You can install the Asus Backup App to backup everything before factory reset.

  • Is cm13 works well or not please tell me

  • So the Android M update is finally out, but after reading a few comments there seems to be some problems with the sensors after updating. Then a few people said that after upgrading, doing a factory reset should solve the sensor problem. Which brings me to 2 questions: 1. Can someone give a step-by-step process on how to back up my data before a I do a factory reset? 2. If i'm somewhat no6 pleased with the upgrade, how do i downgrade back to Lolipop? Thanks :)

  • As per my opinion, it was a very much impressive phone but since last 1 week my Zenfone 2 gets heated up very much. Even the battery gets down within 6-7 hours which used to run entire day previously

  • Dont worry about data. I updated my phone without backup ur data will be as it is after upgrade. Just copy ur .zip file to internal storage and restart the phone if u get a error message of upgrade, click on that message it will ask u to select file and press ok. And in 15min you will have android m on ur phone.

  • What is vrsi ?

  • How to upgrade to Marshmallow?

  • About Marshmallow update you should update to the last official lollipop Android 1st, then try marshmallow update. other wise you may get errors. i flashed the ROMs, now in Android marshmallow. works fine. no sensor problem or other issue. i heard some are facing sensor problem with marshmallow update. i think Asus will solve it with quick patch.

  • I have Asus Ze551ml since Aug 2015,now I am facing problem screen flickering pls help me .thanks

  • Android m released check out.

  • I have a zen2 here 2gb. It has been working good for the past year and a half. I did receive updates as well several times. One issue that i did encounter is sometimes it hangs or restarts buy this is probably due to intense gaming. I have been playing online games like clash of kings f9r several hours a day continously and had the drive space of the phone almost maxed out. So i guess this is one of the reason.. It's a good phone. I even dropped this countless times in the bathroom floor and in my room, highest being 2 meters in height. Not a problem. The only downside i have found is in terms of memory usage. No matter how many times i try to free up memory, clean apps it really only goes down as low as 950mb ram usage.. its half of 1.8gb ram.. but overall very good for 5he price range.

  • I am experiencing problem #2 for my slightly 1 over year zenfon2. Never thought such a reputable company could come out with such crap phone.

  • I Have had a Zen 2 phone for almost a year. and had no problems at all that has not fixed itself in a restart. Camera is great, Speed very fair, comfort in hand great, Glass not even a scratch without cover since new. Price was $200. that"s 1/3 the cost of comparable phones. The Intel Chip seems to work very stable. Sorry to see it go so soon and not improve.

  • Great specs. But after having a Zenfone for a year and with the new zenfone 3 about to come out I really felt the obligation to warn people about things I never considered before buying it... 1- The WORST customer support I have ever come into contact with. Ever. This isn't based on one experience either. Ive had to deal with them several times. They are incompetent and a bunch of liars. This point is shared by many users on the internet (just do some research if you don't believe me). So why does this matter?.. 2- You will have some sort of technical problems with this phone eventually. Most likely the screen will begin to freeze or show lines. This is a known problem with this phone. Again. Do the research and see how many ppl are complaining. If ASUS was a good company this wouldn't be such an issue but... 3-Replacing the device is a straight up nightmare. Took me 3 months to finally get a refurbished product. Plus several hours of chasing these morons to find up what's taking so long. Their answers are mostly lies so this will be one of the most frustrating experiences for you. 4- You will never get an update. I can promise you that. This may not matter to you but it does to many phone consumers so I felt the need to say it. They started by lying to us that a 5.1 update was "soon" coming to the device. A year and a half later they are saying the 6.0 update will soon be coming to the device. We never got 5.1 and when you realize what a bunch of liars this company is made up of you will know that there is no 6.0 update either. Nougat is around the corner so the fact that zenfone users are still naively waiting for a 6.0 update from a company who has basically just dropped them once they bought the phone...well it's just wrong. This will be my last ASUS product ever. I know they make solid computers but I'm just so disgusted with this company I will never buy from them again.

  • How is your mobile? It's will be come hanging problem or not?

  • No don't buy Asus Zenfone powered by Intel Processor Intel is no more in the mobile market no further development in it.

  • Don't buy Asus Zefone 2 powered Intel Processor,Intel no more in Mobile market and no further development in it.Better to go for the Moto-G Plus its a better smartphone better camera than Zenfone2 and Moto G 4 Plus support turbo charging and is bundled with the turbocharger also,Other option Asus Zenfone 3 ZE520KL-1A035IN,Moto X Play, Redmi Note 3,Le 2.But Don't by Asus Zenfone powered by Intel.

  • Because it was high graphics mobile...intel atom processor with powerVR 6400..this mobile ordinary seen in 4k videos..

  • Don't buy any Asus ZenFone I am ZenFone 2 551ml 4gb RAM 64gb rom user, 1).They are a layer company ,they don't give us Marshmallow 6.0 till now. 2).This ZenFone 2 4gb RAM 64gb rom is their flagship product, they don't care about this product many many bugs have this phone. 3). First thing is mobile networks, the mobile network is horrible ,maximum time network not found both SIM,and network signal is very very poor. 3).They give us many updates but Actually battery life is not improve. 4). Voice calls listing quality is not good. 5).NFC and automatic brightness is not working perfectly.

  • Please, don't let the good specifications fool you. The phone works until it doesn't. Visit the official forum It's full of complaints, especially regarding the battery. The assistance is also not good. My phone is still under the 24 months pick-up & return warranty, but they wanted me to accept to pay 35 Euros + taxes and shipping if, for some reason, they don't discover the reported issues. Buy something else, with lower specifications, but better durability and assistance in case of fault.

  • Buy it :) I have it for 3 months now, everything works fine. I'm glad with this phone ;)

  • Which mobile game graphics is best? Zenfone 2 ze551ml or zenfone 3 ze552kl

  • This mobile supported 4k video.. Generally we are playing hd,mkv,mp4,divix etc... This category files are supported...same as 4k video files are supported or not? Because it was high graphics mobile....please tell me

  • Which is best of the graphics mobile? PowerVR6400 or adereno 506

  • Hey guys! Quick question! I can buy this phone today here in Portugal at a discount price of 255 euros which is around 218 british pounds or 290 dollars or 19300 indian rupee At this price range I don't think I can find a better phone with all these specs... 4GB ram, 403 ppi, gorilla glass 3, 13mp rear, 5mp front, 5.5 inch display, etc... I am aware that it still hasn't recieved marshmallow update and we really don't know when it will be available for the ze551ml but I don't think it matters really with all those specs... Do you advise me another phone for this price? I think this discount price is amazing for this phone at the moment where I live, give me your opinions please Thanks in advance!

  • ze551ml

  • Do NOT buy this phone. It didn't have big issues at first, but now the phone shutdowns when the battery is between 20-40%. Asus has done nothing to solve this issue so far.

  • Which mobile is best? Zenfone 2 ze551ml or zenfone 2 laser? Which mobile battery is best?

  • What better phone? Can you note some phones?

  • very nice phone.. 13 months and counting.. no problem whatsoever...

  • I totally agree with you.

  • Hey... The battery is bad in this phone. In near future i am sure you will not be able to charge your phone completely. Initially i faced the same issue that you had been facing now a days and after some days of facing this kind of issue, i am unable to charge it completely to 100 percent. Its charges only till 40 % if i charge it for 12 hr.

  • Dont buy this disgusting phone. It has a lots of problems related to battery. The phone is fully dependent on its so cold asus application which drains the battery so quickly.

  • I hope asus reads these comments or somehow you send them theses feedbacks. android 7 is nearly out and we are still using lollipop. even zenfone 3 will not have android N and god knows how much time that is going to get to be released. when i was buying zenfone 2 it was with the hope of having android 6 in a few weeks. are they going to wait and release android 7 instead? cuz with this pace I'm sure only my grandchild will be able to see a zenfone with android N

  • can i buy this phone asus zenfone 2 ze551ml ( 4 gb ) model

  • Don't go zenfone2 ,,it's just a old phone now at this stage..Go for Le smartphones..It's at its best 4K too...

  • World worst company in mobile...I bought one and after 15 months my phone was dead.. when I went to the service center they charged 250Rs. only for detecting the fault and then they told me that the motherboard of my mobile is dead and they said it will cost 16000Rs. for new motherboard... I don't feel that it is fair with any customer that this company is selling such kind of mobile phones which can't even survive for 15 months and they are promising things that they cannot even fulfill properly which is highly disappointed.... And I've met some more peoples having the same kind of problem... So that's why I would like to suggest not to buy such mobile phones it's highly waste of money...!!

  • asus zenfone 2 2gb ram is worst it got touch complaint .i have only used it for 8 month. it just banged meeee

  • What system are you currently using? Do you mind to share?

  • It's a good phone (I'm happy with this phone for 1.5 years - no heating problem on my side) but now I will not recommend to buy it. You can find better phone for a better price, or maybe wait for the Zenfone 3. Question: Why do you need to play 4k videos? The screen is only 1080p and it's not a MHL compatible.

  • Plzz tell me! I m very confuse which mobile buy it worthable for asus.. Zenfone 2 ze551ml good or not mobile? It's heating problem or not? It's can play 4k video or not?

  • I use this phone (4/32 version) since 2 months. Disabled the bloatwares, use Greenify and SD Maid. Good battery time, the phone is fast, no lags, no bugs. The camera app now is good, except the video quality. The future updates should focus on brightening the screen and add some volume to the speakers. Recommended.

  • why is it that my phone charging takes me a lot more time???

  • There will be the baterry change of asus .. where i can buy it

  • I had a problem with a speaker just after a 4 months. Of course I ordered the speaker on ebay and now it's ok. Otherwise, cell works fine for now.

  • Hey, you need to calibrate you battery... Try this one, Used your phone until the battery drains or until your phone will shutdown. While your phone is off, charge it and do not turn it on yet. When the LED Notification turns yellow, it means your battery is full but do not unplug the charger yet. Turn on your phone until its open, then unplug the charger. That's it, hope it will help. Please give me a response once done. Thanks.

  • My phone zf2 also shutdown at 60% What I can do

  • you can say i was on the brink of just getting this one, it was closer than you think cause when i saw 4GB ram i almost ordered it. Thankfully the Moto X Pure Edition came out during that time, i got the Moto X Pure Edition, one of my best decisions in life.

  • body is too weak, screen is break very easily

  • Yes.. very upset once I noticed. But too late to know it.

  • Not a bad phone. Its gone through water damage twice, and still survived after a drying session in rice. Now its getting heated up after the second time i sweated on it too much. Lasted a year with this kind of abuse.

  • Second SIM slot does not support LTE

  • Got an email from Asus support end of July, saying that the Marshmallow should be out by the end of August. Anyone knows something about this timeline?

  • Had this phone 2 months. Ready to thrown it on the highway. So sick of it, cuts off by itself, apps always saying its a problem. Never resolves itself. Won't Go back to the home screen a lot of time and has 0 value trade in. Sick sick of it. Will b moving on

  • How's the marshmallow update (manual)?

  • By the way Dness, you must calibrate your battery first. Just try this once. Use your phone until the battery will drain and be at 0% and automatically your phone will turn off. Then charge it while the phone is off and when the LED notification becomes Yellow Color, do not unplug the charger, just turn on first your phone and when you see your phone at 100% battery, that's the time you unplug the charger. Afterwards, do not make your battery drain again to 0%, when it comes to 15% or below, charge it and do not use it while charging, and unplug your charger only if your battery meets 100%. :) This is the proper way of taking care of your phone?

  • You're welcome :)

  • I just picked up the this week that happened to me today, I had it in my suit jacket and it was very hot today, so I think it could be a moisture problem I put it on the vent the air conditioner was on that seem to help the problem

  • Asus Philippines, i'm still waiting for my OTA marshmallow update... or maybe this is the DEAD END UPDATE LOLLIPOP.

  • me too...

  • Can you explain what to do here that would entail programs like Fly GPS and other???? ?6ztpcj

  • sim slot #2 always no network, need to restart the phone each time sim slot #2 is out of service.

  • How can Asus be so customer unfriedly? I too face the problem of non-display of caller id screen when somebody calls me (Zenfone selfie). Asus is not making any effort to resolve the Problem!!! No more Asus in my lifetime!!!

  • y i can't use fb and messenger app in this phone

  • Much appreciated. I had requested for replacement and I got the new one today at 9 and I have kept it for charge as u have told. It's charging now and i hope it works. Thank u so much for ur advise and ur precious time. Cheers........

  • i have a 2g ram version of this phone. very very veryyyyyyy good. this is god of phones. several times fallen from my hand and i take it. but there's any even little stretch on this phone. great speed for gaming. great display. great sound. great shell. very very great touch even better than iphone. but you wait for zenphone3. i sure that's better than zenphone2.

  • I agree wid u. My phone is dead within 9 months o my purchase.n only this insurance don't cover me th. Shut service shot phone. Waste o money

  • Asus zenfone 2 ze551ml good or bad phone...plzz tell me about this phone...i will buy this mobile

  • Don't worry, just keep your phone charging and maybe it takes 3 to 4 hours to make your phone open or atleast the Battery Charging logo will appear. It also happens to me, and the main reason why is because these units are too old, they just stock for a long time and you've bought it just now, so the battery will drain to the highest level :) Trust me... And don't worry too much.. :) Please give me a response after.

  • The phone looks good and feels good. The screen is a nice quality. Those are the good things. The bad are, random reboots, touchscreen not responding, the battery dead in 4 hours, most apps not working well. No fingerprint sensor considered all its a very mediocre phone not worth the money. Better buy elephone cost less and is more phone. Or the know top brands and models

  • Your Amritser service center have srvice very bad and workers are unresponsbil to costumer.

  • Your phone must be having some troubling apps which have this problem of starting on its own go to apps and look for names u haven't installed by itself try to uninstall them but most probably u won't be able to uninstall them, the only solution is to hard reset your phone

  • dont buy this phone. 6 Mons working. warranty never cover your equipment, there is always humidity or other thing. they nether assume the these motherboard are badly manufactured. Really dont buy it

  • received this phone from flipkart an hour ago and guess what.? This damn phone is not even turning on. Kept for charge for an hour and still not getting on. Anyone has anything to say about this which might help then please tell me.

  • Did you bury it? I hope you did. Condolence my friend.

  • Asus, where is my OTA Marshmallow update (Philippines)...... ....

  • poor quality touchscreen.. it behaves on its own. Ghost touches. Didn't expected anything lyk this from Asus :(

  • Same here. My phone works very well for 2 years now. But I read so many bad experiences here that I think that some model (for some countries) don't have the same quality. Mine was bought in USA (I live in Canada).

  • I wonder how you guys use your phone? I have been using Asus 5 and 2 years now and it never went dead. Though battery has degraded still it turns on so you guys are just wreckless users and any phone you use would die.

  • But it generates alot of heat and battery drains faster than ARM chips which are specifically made/started for mobile devices. And as of now Intel SoC has been dropped and are no longer in production.

  • I scored around 64000 on antutu with this phone ;)

  • I Don't know about other phones which are coming in the market but alot of people are unknown but the fact that this phone comes with Intel Atom Z3580 which is indeed the fastest chipset if talking about price range ... Phones nowadays are coming with high end specs except the processor.. If you open ANTUTU (1st official and popular benchmark test website in the world) you will see the chipset performance in 2015 q3 there are phones which have snapdragon 805,810,808 these are the chipset which comes in note 4 , note 5 , S6 , sony x 2016, Lg G5 .... these are the phone which scores around 60,000-80,000 scores and comes at 7th position... phones coming with snapdragon 615,617,800,801 etc are coming at 22nd position... people are just buying phones for RAM AND CAMERAS They think snapdragon 615,617,901,808.805 phones like Motorola G4, Motorola G4 plus, Xiomi note 3, Lenovo k5, Samsung S5, samsung S4 , Samsung A,O,J,E,S series are faster ... LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING "THEY ARE NOT" They may look good , they may have good camera, they may have 4 GB ram, but they are slow as hell they scores around 30,000-40,00 THE ONLY PHONE WHICH ARE FASTER THAN THESE PHONES IN MID RANGE IS ASUS ZENFONE 2 (4 GB RAM) AS IT COMES WITH Z3580 THAT SCORES AROUND 58.320... AND YOU CAN CHECK THE ANTUTU SO MORAL OF THE STORY DON'T BUY PHONES WITH JUST RAM AND CAMERA AND PROCESSOR (PEOPLE WHO JUST BUY PHONE BY HEARING OCTA CORE PROCESSOR).

  • my phone also died in only in 7 month WHAT i have to do i don't know this mobile shuck my mind

  • It was a decent phone, but it died on me after 9 months. It won't turn on. It could be fixed by doing troublesome unscrewing or taking it to service centers. I'm never buying Asus again though.

  • Dont buy asus if you dont know how to use it

  • Just uninstall or disable the bloatware

  • I TOTALLY agree with Carlf! This is exactly what is happening to my ASUS phone starting few weeks ago. Its really frustrating and annoying! Im thinking to buy a new one instead. Just to share, I had a friend who had the same phone and just last week hers just didn't want to open, so she had no choice but to buy a new one. Then she remind me to start to backup my files the soonest coz ASUS is NOT stable. Sorry to say!

  • asus zenfone's are good so far,,, i have a zenfone 2 ZE551ML and it works smoothly,,,, i have no issues about it.. and i have upgraded to marshmallow same thing it works well...

  • I beg to disagree. I have it also and working good at its best.

  • I guess ur phone desperately needs battery replacement. Same things happened to my ipad, replacing the battery was the only solution.

  • I like my Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) bought last year. At this time, it was the best model (price / specification / quality) and all reviews were very positive. I have no problem with my phone btw. Currently there are a lot of better phones around 150-250$ like Honor 5X or Motorola G4 Plus. Nobody who is a little bit serious will recommend to buy this phone now - and it's perfectly normal.

  • Battery drain on asus zenfone 2 ZE551ML is caused by google play services. Uninstall your version and download 9.0.83. version from

  • bought this jst 4months ago.i thought it was agreat phone the specs got me wowd.,then noticed aftr this past months battery drains fast somtimes shutsdown by itself .right now i cant even use its touchscreen.i am very regretful buying this phone!!

  • i have asus zenfone 2 ze551ml 2gb ram/16gb, i brought from flipkart, camera quality very poor, battery drain very fastly ...waste mobile ...don't buy this asus mobile best for go...motorola-samsung-xiaomi-htc,

  • The best phone ever had!

  • No. :-)

  • Hi People, this phone ZE551ML 4gb/32gb have MHL support?

  • I've had my Zenfone2 for over a year with no problems at all EXCEPT for the past 2 months where the phone has become VERY unstable. Apps will open all by themselves, screens will change within an app, windows will not scroll (although they will scroll all by themselves), can't get back to the Home screen, opens 9-12 apps all by itself, and I loose the ability to power on/off or reset the phone. All of this happens completely on it's own without me laying a finger on the screen and all at the SAME TIME!!! The latest software update did nothing to help. Can't seem to find anyone that can offer a suggestion other than get another phone.

  • Had the phone for 2 years. Working excelent. And still ranked 21 on antutu benchmark after 2 yers from the release date, score over 65k.

  • Same here, almost a year my zf 2 didnt had any trouble at all. Make good pictures so dunno what people are shouting about. Depent how ur using the device itself...If u really want to have a expensive one buy samsung and u dont have guarentee also that it will be a good phone so it all depents on the person themself....i like asus zf 2..i use this phone next to my oppo r7s.

  • Don't buy this garbage phone, I've had problem since day one with the zenfone 2 ... Two month into buy this phone the speakers went out and about 3 month have that it stop reading my Sim card I've had just enough problem with this phone and when I call them to fix it they want to charge me to get a loaner phone even in the 1 year warranty... I totally retreat buying this phone and I will never go with an asus phone again!

  • you must be a twat 'cause I had my phone for almost a year now, & no probs. haven't even reset OS! but I agree about the camera, not very good. still a good value phone if you're not a power user.

  • I'm 100% agreed with you.But I want to say 1 thing about it's camera, I've seen many local lower profile brands phone, but it's camera is worse than the worst of them

  • Worst product in the whole universe. Not allowing me to write a review... no more words.

  • Wrost mobile never seen b4 . Microphone problem . Storage problem camera problem within. 3 month .. fucking mobile of ASUS. dont buy it

  • Same problem bro I had change motherboard 2 times then my problem is solved . And now i getting microphone problem

  • Check the camera connector, mine came loose and after reconnection it's all fine again

  • is there anyone know that what the hell is set as cover option in gallery? when i bought this phone in music player every song launch with cover but after confirm this option on a picture the covers of songs eliminated

  • Marshmallow update not available for this phone

  • I woke up this morning to find my screen black and when I restart it, it just shows the start up page with the loading thing. My phone won't turn on

  • the worst phone i ever baught asus zenfone 2 ze551ml camera fail to launch error message and phones freeze then reboot when ever i try open the flash light app and its seems to be a problem for alot of asus users its been a while now and no explanation or ways to rectify the prob from asus

  • The latest update (80mb) is full of flaws. After the update, the phone has started to lag. The menu swipe is not working smoothly. Also the games are not running smoothly.

  • You get less then you pay for. Cheap plastic and camera lens is easily scratched. Terrible camera quality with poor focus time. Charging takes forever. I've has this phone for a year and ill never buy from this company again. Save yourself the hassle and go with oneplus for budget phones .

  • After this updated complete my fone is not open still running power icon

  • Screen is flickering. I wont buy another ASUS Phone

  • Another update seeding... 80mb

  • Just follow the official updates and wait,

  • With Android M (beta version from Asus), almost all the Asus apps were removed. So the available RAM is around 800 MB - 1 GB on my phone.

  • Already facing a lot of issues with the phone, barely been 7 months since I bought it. 2 GB ram.. not more than 700 MB is available to the user.Have to continuosly clear Ram. USELESS preloaded apps. Please consider other options if your looking to buy the ZenFone 2 ze551ml 2GB model.

  • Some people are angry, but on my side, I have no issue (for 1 year now) with my battery or Asus techies. Everythings work well and if you follow the official forum, you will see that the 6.0 version will be soon ready. But one true thing, it's a little bit sad to get the new version so late.

  • I bought a zenfone 2. It was cheap and you get what you pay for. I was promissed Android 6 update. So far it didn't happen and I don't think it will happen. I will not buy any other Asus devise. Some of it is my own fault. I should have done my research more careful. Well my zenfone 2 is probably one of the first once sold in USA. Maybe I should wait a little longer and see what other people have to say about it. About the customer service, about the Battery life, or about the company in general. Am I going to buy another Asus product? NO.

  • Today I got some information from a representative that Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551Ml will not have marshmallow update and second sim data options

  • Lie already updated my Asus Zenfone 2 deluxe special edition and everything works normally

  • Lie already updated my Asus Zenfone 2 deluxe special edition and everything works normally

  • 13 months into this phone I'm giving up on it. Biggest issue, The touch screen barely works in the upper third. Other pitfalls: it gets way too hot in the summer, battery life is pitiful, and the included apps are unnecessary plus invasive, and the buttons are unergonomic for my hands. Sorry Asus, my wife still has a Zen Phone, but that will be the last product we get from you.

  • How to remove preloded apps in asus Z00AD...? And my phone goes off at 60% what can be the problem...I still like the phone please help me to solve those two problems

  • Sorry my asus zenfone when I want to view about display ASUS Z00AD is real original phone? and it shutdown at 60% of battery what can be the problem help me plz?

  • i have the 32 gb internal version

  • That's not true. Zenfone 2 ZE551ML (all versions) are compatible with the fast charging, but only the 4G/64G (and higher) gets by default the 18V charger. You only need to buy this charger...

  • The fastcharging only comes with the 32GB and 4GB ram sorry buds

  • Worst phone ever. I got i hopes for this phone. I got battery problem in just 10 months of using it and asus support is so bad that they can't even fix the problem. I already gave them my phone for almost 2 months but when i came back and follow up for my phone, thats the only time they are really trying to fix it. I also paid for the battery becasuse the battery warranty is only for 6 months. Even if the battery is already replaced I'm still experiencing the same problem. Dont buy this phone. This is a waste of money.

  • When we will got the marshmallows update?Asus are layer, still no update found. The network signal is very very very very very poor ,sometimes mobile network goes 0,what can I do ?

  • I see a lot of people complaining about bloatware and zenui. Zenui improved a lot. Much faster than nova. Just install zen marshmallow theme and you'll get a stock android speed. I'm not kidding. It's like a brand new phone. Also activate the developer options and change the animation duration scale.

  • The Phone was very good.

  • Hey guys...i have bought this phone for 6 months and i've a problem which is the fast charging feature doesn't work again although i use the original adapter and usb cable from ASUS...please somebody help me ti fix this?

  • Bought ZE551ml 2G 16GB, bring it to travel in almost all condition including ocean (with waterproofing protection), still doing good today. Pretty satisfied, but I wish I bought the 32GB instead of 16GB that time, LOL. Quality of camera's still good. All apps works well, some are stopped or hard to open when first installed which enough reason to me to uninstall it before it get worst. Buy with guaranty and you won't be disappoint (black market phone always have LOTS BAD FACTORS plus you can't return it for reparation) and don't push your phone to work like other high-end phone, better use it with recommended applications for the best result. Worth the price.

  • Change the data cable and try with a different one

  • The phone is so so. Asus has definitely over promised on this phone. The worst is when you need Asus support. I've experienced my fair share of bad services from all over the world. But Asus has got to be the worst, by far! They can comfortably, completely ignore your requests!

  • I just bought zenfone 2,but the device failed to turn on.Already try charge but the device still no response. What should i do with this problem?

  • yes its true

  • still no update on new OS marshmallow and the signal is weak as hell! battery life is also questionable at best. thank god for the fast charging cos you would need it! bloatware is also a pain to remove. i like the design, screen and the gesture thing. it has NFC so that's good i guess. and the price is bearable. overall will NOT recommend this product! so many CONS than the PROS

  • well this is my first phone review in gsmarena. I'm from Indonesia and just bought this phone last week and so far it runs normally. although seeing all the comments here makes me worried about the future of my phone but my zenfone 2 has past the 1st week without any trouble (battery overhear, hang, restart, wifi / gsm problem, etc). at first run, RAM usage at 2gb+, leaving 1.9gb. after installing regular apps (socmed, skype, wa, line, games) it still had 1.7gb free RAM. plenty of room to download more app. and i would like to share my experience. i used the phone for 1hour++ using skype while opening PPT without charging the phone and my zenfone 2 still runs normally. no heat, no lag, no restart, no problem. the battery consumption also not that bad considering the heavy usage. and most of all, it saves my face because i forgot my laptop back at home and my zenfone 2 come to the rescue. i hope it can last more than 8-12 months like several users in here which have bad experience in that period. so to anyone that would like to consider buying this phone, overall in my opinion that zenfone 2 is value for money smartphones.

  • Had the phone 7 months- it didnt work properly for a single day. Now it doesent even turn on and the warranty wont fix it.. WORST PHONE I EVER HAD - DO NOT BUY

  • No anti-glare screen protection makes the screen reflect nearby lights and renders it impleasant to use. Poor location services in built in weather app: when in roaming, the phone absolutelly needs internet connection to figure out where you are. Also, location services simply do not get the accurate location even though the google maps app gets it on the same device. No such issue existed on other brands of android phones i used. Lots of bloatware that runs in background. Good thing is that its possible to disable them. Low sound quality, frequent missed calls/reminders because you just dont hear them. Poorly positioned microphone makes voice call clarity very bad. Annoying for people you speak to. Sim card holder is cheap & loose, so u need to get it fixed as the sim card falls out of its socket rendering the phone unreachable. No built-in "smart stay" or "smart screen" makes the screen go off while reading newspapers or watching a video for instance. Annoying. Google apps trying to solve this do not work properly. LED notification color cannot be customized and is predefined. LED is too small and can be omissed due to its tiny size. Awful camera makes poor and blurry pictures. Lots of interlace-type interferences when photographing the computer screen. Poor focus and image stabilization makes the majority of photos blurred. Even besides the 2ghz processor and 4gb of RAM it takes a lot of time for the phone to restart itself. 3gb of RAM are frequently taken by bloatware which reduces battery life. Built in keyboard app has the settings button awkwardly placed so its occasionaly clicked by accident when typing common texts such as sms or emails. Annoying. You cannot silence the Zenfone by flipping it over or upside-down. Other manufactures offer this option which is btw VERY usefull. Bottom line: avoid asus for now, they still have a lot to learn. Good price though.

  • I made the same mistake but I did 1 more that was worse, i also bought an Asus X555L note(to communicate with andvsave phone info). Asus is Throw it out &get a reliable fone. I have had 3 Zenfone2, the latest was the Deluxe Special Edition Zenfone2 with 128Gb onboard memory, after 3 months (with many issues in between) the battery went dead. Asus wont send me a battery and they want me to send it in with my persinal info on it sobthey can steal my information. The keyboard double ticks letters & numbers all the time. Asus Zenfone2 used to be reliable but their lates products are garbage. I also bought an ASUS X555LA Note(laptop) the key lasted 8 months before half of the keys completely stopped working. I threw the thing in the trash( minus the hard drive). DO NOT BUY ASUS PRODUCTS!!

  • my Asus zenfone 2 (4GB RAM) is unable to complete boot process.. immediate before of the issue there was a error message regarding internal memory is full.. can any one suggest how to recover the issue? how can i get the backup of my pics, video and others file.. please suggest.. //Palash

  • After years of using Nexus phones I moved to the Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML 64GB/4GB version. Was the worst fricking mistake I ever made whilst picking up phones. Now after just 9 months of use I'm exchanging this piece of trash for a Moto X Play on which I'm sure I'll get Marshmallow and also further immediate updates for the next 2 years. Guess how much I'm exchanging my current zenfone for ? Just 20% of it's original price in 9 months, guess why ? cos I'm sick of Asus not providing updates. Will never again buy Asus products, forget the phones, will not even patronise and buy their routers though I always was a big fan of their RTN series of routers. So I have a Rs. 22,000/- phone that I'm exchanging for a Moto X Play and getting a reduction of 4,000 in exchange... bye bye Asus junk... A manufacturer who can't release timely operating system updates for their products does not deserve to sell their products to the general populace. For that matter I highly admire Motorola, I have picked Motorola phones for my wife for the past many years and she's always got regular updates. Even the Google Nexus phones are amazing in that sense, but I'm finding them pricey now to change every 1.5 to 2 years. Motorola is a better option since it's affordable and also is very fast in giving code upgrades ! So bye to this useless manufacturer, and henceforth I'll be patronising a manufacturer who is more responsible to their customers.

  • i am using a Asus Zenfone 2 am facing lot of problem like system updated and back speaker problem and when am connecting this phone my pc its going shout down i have visit Asus server center aslo 3 time but what they will . they will jut receiving my phone and when its on jut hand over me but issue no solve still issue going on . what i need to do please help me

  • Which is better zenfone 2 or note 3 for gaming?

  • worked for 8 months, then it wont start anymore. It had problems the whole 8 months and the warranty wont cover it. DO NOT BUY

  • Mine (zenfone2 4gig ram-ze551) not yet, i'm waiting for the OTA here in the Philippines.

  • very good but only battery not working good

  • Great looks, and everything ends there. It has 2 GB RAM but its not for you. ITs got a plenty of apps preinstalled, god knows for what and those apps consume about 70% of the memory. Battery drains like hell. It doesnt even stand an hour of usage. I got it returned from FK site.

  • no more asus for me

  • Try to buy the phone but thinking to much

  • I just laughed by looking many comments here, hahaha

  • This is a defective battery. Replace it and this issue will disappear.

  • I strongly recommend to update your gapps too or to do a clean install. I did'nt have issue with my 6.0.1 after a clean install.

  • It's regretful to update my zenfone 2 5.5 system into Marshmallow cause there's a lot of issues when it comes to compatibleness. My phone is connected to wifi and there are some app that I can't access anymore esp play store and browser which are very important for me. I hope you Asus can fix this.

  • Anyone else get the thing where the phone's battery just goes from 50% to 0% within a minute? It just keeps shutting down on me all the time.

  • if you want an asus phone, wait for the Zenfone 3 series, dont buy the Zenfone 2 with intel But if you really need a phone right now, Then Note 4 is a better choice

  • When i'm in a voice call, my screen light is off, sensor is not working

  • Intel cheated ASUS -------> ASUS cheated customers ~~~~~~ so no more ZenFone's in future

  • Hi need some opinion what should i buy z2, zenfone 2 or note4 i am a gamer so i need a fast phone and a classy phone ty :D

  • I have been an ASUS customer for a number of years now. Motherboards, phones, laptops, you name it, but this latest debacle of telling loyal ASUS customers that Marshmallow will be coming to the ASUS Zenfone 2 is the limit. Delays in software release happen, but don't lie, people don't like it. My next phone will not be an ASUS.

  • STILL NO MARSHMALLOW UPDATE!!! And we're already in 3rd quarter of the year...... asus said they will release android 6.0 Marshmallow in Q2 of 2016... i planned to buy zenfone 3 . . . But not anymore

  • go to settings, about phone, tap on software update and check for updates

  • Asus zenfone 2 ZE551ML how do I software update

  • Has anyone got the update yet?

  • I bought mine over a year ago from Ho Chi Minh and the phone has been over all excellent..except for the crazy battery drain, after their last update. Else this is a super zippy phone esp. with the 4gb ram and the camera is fantastic in daylight i have no idea if marshmallow will be more draining on the phone than current lollipop ??

  • Hey, Tomorrow brings the end of Q2 and all the other Asus smartphones (except 1st gen) have recieved Android 6 (M) Update incl. ZE550KL that is Zenfone 2 (2GB). I hope Android M update for ZE551ML is released soon. Last by tomorrow. And, Yes the phone is really great and has hit the 27th position on AnTuTu Benchmark. The latest Zenfone 3 Deluxe (6GB) has ranked 1st and is the hottest phone right now beating Galaxy S7 in speed test.

  • Can anybody confirm if it has wi-fi ac?

  • 10 months of using this phone. 1 Screen sometimes flicker 2 Headset and charger socket became loose (charging became 12 hours to full, cracking sound when calling using headset) 3 Speaker cracking sound 4 The plastic side of the phone can easily get scratch

  • My asus zenfone 2 (2gb) freezes sometimes,I'm on the latest version

  • Are we ever going to get the update AsuSSSS......??

  • Where is the update Tomorrow Q2 will end Asus zenfone 2 laser already received update 2 weeks ago in India Still being the cheapest in the family Why is this happening with zenfone 2 users? when we'll receive update ? Asus are you listening? Screen flickering n battery drain issue is very common But battery drain due to flashlight app I don't even use that app

  • I totally agree with how great the phone is! :) I just hope the Asus realizes that Zenfone 2 is one of the best phones they had created, next to the Zenfone 3 they announced lately, and hope they give this phone the Marshmallow update. I've been checking since day 1 of Q2 if the Marshmallow update is available. The knock knock does not work all the time, especially when it freshly came out of your sweaty pockets! :) LOL!

  • whatssss everrrr....

  • Phone is totally F'd. I should have bought a Oneplus 2, constant issues and im always wondering if this thing is gonna die out on me, real shame because aside from the issues its a great phone for a cheap price (300 Australian dollars, Oneplus 2 is nearly 600), flickering screen, crashes when playing music, ugh.

  • Downgrade your OS. Unstable OS due to bugs and background apps suck battery charges.

  • you are mistaken, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe has the same chipset as the OnePlus 3 - Snapdragon 820

  • Delay due to Intel chipset overwise if they used Qualcomm it will be much earlier......

  • I like this phone and I just got it a few days ago and the looks and feels are great, but the bad news is it has a boat load of issues. no update for android marshmallow yet despite the fact that they announced it a year ago and there is a sdcard memory undetected issue! if you are planning to get this phone, steer clear for now!

  • Is anybody out there having issues on their z2? Especially flickering of screen. :(

  • I have this phone for around a year now. It was super and fine until the Marshmallow update. The issue is that it drains the battery very fast and does not charge except after I restart the phone. Do you have any idea about how can I fix this issue? Thank you very much

  • Worar service center

  • nope still no m-update. asus are you just making us wait for this udpate with this awesome phone that we have??all ther phones are catching up. and ours is still the same.

  • this or huawei p9 lite?

  • Do not drain the battery of mobile phones and laptops to 100%. It will sure break your battery. Try to charge it for a day.

  • I agree

  • HEllo guys im a new user of asus zenfone 2. my problem is that my phone is not charging anymore after i consume 100% of the battery. Any one their got idea how to fix this issue. . Thank you

  • HEllo guys im a new user of asus zenfone 2. my problem is that my phone is not charging anymore after i consume 100% of the battery. Anyone got idea how to fix this issue?. . Thank you .

  • I am waiting for it as well!

  • I have a though time choosing between zenfone 2 and zenfone max can someone help me to figure it out whats better between these two phones? Thanks in advance! ^_^

  • Used Asus Zenfone 2 for almost a year. All good .But there is one Engineering design defect. The back camera lens glass protection get scratches on normal day to day usage. Thus if now taking any photo from back camera its blurry and foggy. The back camera lens must have a gorilla glass protection . This would be an additional criteria for my next phone. Am I right guys .. pl let me know

  • Here in the Philippines, Nope no MARSHMALLOW yet.. 10days after it was announced still no Update yet.

  • I live in Brazil and no update to, until now.

  • when I will receive android M in zenfone 2 ze551ml please answer me if anyone get android M in ze551ml in India

  • Didn't get any Marshmallow update till now, what are they trying to do, provided update for each and every phone except Zenfone 2 ZE551ML.

  • for all the zenfone 2 users who are plaining to get the zenfone 3 ..please dont because the processer powering the zenfone 3 is a midrange sd600 series processer which dissapointing compared to other better devices around the same or cheaper like the mi5 ,oneplus 3 that have a flagship chipset....the only thing better with the zenfone 3 is maybe the camera but the rest a pretty much the same

  • I have this phone since January 2016 and all I can say is this phone worths buying ! why ? well, because it's good at that price, not to mention I got the android 6.0.1 beta wich is much more stable than android 5.0, the single problem is at the proximity sensor wich is faulty, you have to wait a bit to disable so the screen turns on during a call, anyway, it's just a beta , this problem will get fixed for sure ! 45k in antutu with my 1.8 ghz quad and 4 gb ram model [special model, z00ad] on android 5.0 now I got 58k , well, it's awesome and the games run much more smoother and better, overall performance is better, the phone is faster, the battery is kinda the same but overall is better ! Things bad about this phone, the battery cover wich cracks pretty bad if you remove it more than 20 times, mine cracked in 2 places, near the jack connector and near the top right corner, the glass is not so scratch resistant , mine scratched in my pocket and I always keep it with the screen facing the inside, not outside , another bad thing is that knock knock to turn on the screen, sometimes it gets on in your pocket and starts doing funny things like calling the police or your grandmother.... anyway, it's a nice phone !

  • I have this one,no major issues besides the battery, anyway im using the 2gb variant ze551ml

  • update is now seeding to beta testers. wait for dew days for OTA update to be final. Hopefully we may get it in a month

  • ha ha... yessss

  • This Zenfone 2 is on my list with Zenfone Max. Having tough time choosing between the two. Any issues with battery life? Seems this one has lower battery life and higher resolution meaning this would consume battery charge faster than Max even with 5000mAh. How about Corning Gorilla Glass 3? Any issues? I read some issues with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 but not really sure if it was from legit user.

  • Anyone can tell update to 6.0 marshmallow in malaysia

  • This phone can upgrade to 6.0 marshmallow..really?

  • Still no marshmallow update here in Philippines!

  • No. I can't get marshmallow update too

  • the 6gb ram is the Deluxe version priced at 499 USD. The normal version got 3-4 gb ram priced at 259 USD. I plan to get the Deluxe 4gb version, the 6gb ram seem to be too much for me. They will probably released in August for my country... 2 months to go XD

  • OMG did the phone survive? How do you pick it up?

  • Did anyone recieved marshmellow update in india ?????

  • marshmallow update is around the corner.... atlast ;)

  • Whoa a few weeks on and it's working! good job asus i prefer you to my axon! I did have it in pieces drying out. XD

  • Dropped mine in a toilet ;(..great phone loved it!

  • Best phone under 300$, i bough mine (2gb version) used for 200$ ! i dare you find another phone with the same specs at this price. 10/10 . also zenfone 3 is coming out soon which has 6 gb ram. you can buy that one for 350$ when it comes out.

  • my friend it needs to have the battery remove for 5-10 secs, then needs to be put back in and it'll work. just like on a regular phone that has a battery that can be removed. though, this needs to be unscrewed :D

  • Try using the smartphone then make your opinion about the same

  • You need to learn how to handle a smartphone....

  • Not yet...

  • Did any one gets new marshmallow update in India

  • Chisos, i have just ordered this phone, ASUS Zenfone 2 ZE551ML LTE Smartphone Intel 2.3GHz 4GB/32GB Grey EU...chai! and am just reading all these negative nagative comments all over...chai..changing my mind.

  • There are two issues that I face very frequently. Can anyone help me with this :- 1. While touching the spacebar, the page on the screen vanishes, because the clear button is just under it. It's so frequent that, its rather annoying. 2. Same thing about the button at the right. Then one can't even get back to the page that one was typing... Lastly I can't take screenshots, inspite of buying the relatively more expensive version.

  • hate the design.. got space at the bottom when u can put speaker in the front.. feel cheap in my hand.

  • Official marshmallow update roling out today. Asus did it. Graet

  • maybe u use it while u charge it

  • same here.but recently after latest update(forgot which one) image tearing occured on my screen when unlocked or relock my phone(when i put the phone to sleep mode by pressing the top button).maybe the ui or firmware i dont know which one

  • which is better? zenfone 2 or oppo f1? can you give me some reasons why I should buy it and why it is better than the other phone?

  • The negative reviews surprise me. I have been using my phone for more than a year. Never any problem, works beautifully and Asus software is exceptionally good.

  • Dont buy asus. Me and my girlfriend are using asus because of its specs butsad to sat its realy disapointing after 4 months of using it. The screen starts to flicker andtouchscreen has gone wild. Making ghost touches

  • Why games online not support in this phone ASUS,,,like Coc game ...

  • I did a mistake of buying Zenfone 2 for CAD 400+ including taxes. It used to become extremely hot but I ignored it. Then after 10 months of use the screen started to flicker and started having vertical stripes. I tried to use Asus Advanced Replacement program. The agent sent me information asking me to provide my credit card information to put a hold on my card. I did and they put a USD 400 hold. A day later I received an email that I should resubmit my card information as the agent was not properly trained and provided wrong information. I contacted customer service to avoid having double hold on my card, the agent told me NOT to resubmit the credit card information and ASUS will fix it on their end. For several days nothing happened with several calls to ASUS. At the end of the week, one agent investigated to resubmit my information. I did and it did work but guess what? They sent me a replacement phone which has exactly the same issue of screen flickering with vertical stripes out of the box. Really bad quality control by Asus Canada (they shipped the unit from their Markham office). Any way I sent my original phone back to remove hold on my card and contacted Asus again for issues in the replacement unit. Asus this time asked me to offer cross shipment that is I send the phone by Fedex (paid by Asus) and call customer support to provide the tracking number. Asus would send another phone before receiving the phone I sent. I did call them and provided the tracking information and Asus agent was able to verify it on Fedex website As of today, Fedex website shows that Asus have already received the unit. However they have not shipped the replacement from their side (breaking their contract). I contacted several times to Asus and each person told me a different story. The last agent told me that they will ship the unit within 48 hours and she has not seen in my case anything about the tracking information. Does this means that previous agents did nothing? And why 48 hours after receiving the unit, it was supposed to be cross shipment. Over all Very bad customer service and untrained agents at Asus based on this experience Very BAD quality control as the first replacement unit was faulty out of the box. The original unit did not worth CAD 400+ at all

  • the battery left 7%, i put to charge in mid night suddely morning see its still remain 7% and i restart the phone, suddely it can't turn on anymore. guys any idea?

  • got problem with this phone. really love its features but have to say good bye to asus. i've used it around 9 months and suddenly the night before it totally dies the battery keep showing 50% eventhough i'm playing games + surfing internet. hopeless. had tried: 1. charge for 5-6 hours (nothing happen) 2. charge with laptop for 5 - 6 hours (nothing happen) 3. push on , vol up + vol down more than 30 seconds (nothing happen)

  • I dropped my phone too and camera and torchlight dont work anymore after that.

  • Plastic at the sides, just between the unit face and back cover (where locks are located) easily breaks. Camera does not work anymore even when i reset the phone. Dismayed user :(

  • Battery runs out quickly, if it has 20% of the screen will die .. I have been using this phone 8 months .. I am afraid to use the camera for fear of fast battery runs out ..

  • when will you provide marshmallow we waited so long i will nver buy asus product anymore they sucks on update

  • I used the phone for 1 year now, I like it very much. This phone are most suitable for gamers who want the low price with high gaming specification, Yup the camera below level of iphone, samsung and sony. Asus best

  • I agree with you Anas, me too i have Asus phone ze551 ml and really used just for 4 months and it stopped working by it self and i tried all ways to fixed but no way.

  • I'm really happy by my phone (model 16GB/2GB) bought in USA. Everything works well in my side. No battery issue, no camera issue... I used it for 1 year now.

  • Asus rules , my zenfone 2 is very goof, fast and reliable and pictures are really good

  • Very bad mobile always hardware and software problem. I advise u to dont buy any thing for asus brand. International standard should baned this brand. Completely wastage of money.

  • 2nd Qtr of the year is from April - June. It's still June 7, so technically it is not yet the end of the 2nd qtr FYI.

  • asus the best for non haters

  • Camera is absolutely hopeless. Snapping picture during the daylight was great. But you might as well just keep your phone in your handbag if you are planning to snap any pictures at night. Night mode is totally hopeless.

  • Don't waste money on Asus Zenfone 2. I bought this phone (4G Ram, 16G Storage) in Hong Kong (August 2015, HKD 1999 =CAD 330). The phone was manufactured in June 2015. I was told there was a one year warranty without mentioned it only applied locally (i.e. in HK only). In May 2016, the phone kept on vibrating and warm and the battery was drained in 10 minutes. I went to Asus Computer International in Toronto and asking for repair under warranty (the phone only last for 9 months). The answer was the phone was purchased in HK and Asus Canada is not going to honour the warranty and I have to pay CAD 253 to replace the motherboard and the repair is only guarantee for 90 days. What a joke? I can buy a NEW one for less and with one year warranty. I also bought in Dec 2015 Zenfone 2 Laser in Toronto and no one mentioned the warranty is only apply in Canada. Buyer beware if you are travelling all the time in and out of the country with this phone. The battery life of Zenfone 2 is bad. For the first 4 months, it can last about 9 hours for every charges. Lately, it only last about 4 hours. I have no faith in ASUS anymore. Their products do not last because I have Asus Laptop and the hard drive did not last for 2 years and I have to replace it.

  • Didn't have this issue (bought in Quebec) but it's a shame that Asus has a so poor quality control... :(

  • Hi. I bought my asus also on a popular cell phone store here in Portugal. And I had the same problem was you. A had a phone working by the 3rd phone.

  • Hey, i occur this problem too! I buy from a mobile phone shop which is quite popular in my country (Malaysia) called DirectD. They open a total of 5 sets of phone because they couldn't open the other 4 even they charge it overnight. So the 5th set finally ons and so far so good no problem at all. Try ask to change for a new set til its on.

  • Dont buy Asus Phone .....customer support is very bad...and phone quality is too much bad....if you want to waste your money then go for it.

  • The screen lasted only 10 months and then started flickering with vertical stripes making it not usable. Search on Google results in finding that it is a common problem. Looks like Asus messed up with the screen on this phone. Very bad for CAD 400/- phone. Contacted Asus support for their Advanced Replacement Program, received an email again that Asus support person made mistakes and will be trained and I need to resubmit the request. I resubmitted it. It is already more than a week since I called Asus support for the first time and several times after that with no proper status on the case. A hold is already put on my credit card by Asus for USD 324 though. I would not suggest anyone buying this phone.

  • Very sad for not having a proper Support in Australia, the closest support center indicated by the Asus Support in Perth was located in Hong Kong!

  • You will get help at

  • Re-seat the battery if that doesn't work it is defective. I bought one new and it wouldn't charge or turn on, the replacement one vibrated as soon as I plugged the charger in.

  • Guys, what's the normal battery consumption during sleep mode, like over the night, and/or in a super save mode? My experience so far: 20% of the battery drained during 6 hours of the night (in a super save mode). This is completely misaligned with numbers that this power saver Asus app tells (for ex., it showed me around 200h standby). And what is the usual battery consumption during a normal usage, say, several calls a day, 30m-1h facebook chatting, some photos, etc?

  • Ate you sure that it only supports data for one sim?

  • I have had my ZE551ML (4GB RAM, 64Gb ROM U.S. Version) for exactly 1 year now as of June 1, 2016, and I still love my phone. I know it's becoming dated and considering these benchmark at around 55,000 tops on Antutu (late model flagships are 130,000+), I am well aware there are much better devices out there now but being on a Metro PCS plan where we have to buy our own devices, for the $299 at the time, this was a great choice. It plays any game that I personally enjoy playing and has never let me down. ASUS maintains full support online including all of the latest firmware files, so if you get yourself in a bind such as I did when I forgot to unroot before running an OTA update, you don't have to worry. Just download the latest firmware.zip and sideload it over ADB and you're back in action in hardly any time at all. The UI customization options are truly amazing and many of them change things that, in the past, only Superusers could do. I think ASUS really hit the mark overall for a great mid-level phone at a price where pay as you go customers can enjoy it.

  • Pleaee please please reply me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need help....!!!! My problem is,,,,,,, When i had got this phone..... I was strange !! Phone didn't.... Though i have charged it for 9 hours.. But phone didn't opened

  • OK ok phone

  • Because Intel quits the mobile CPUs (there were some announces by Intel about the new strategy).

  • i will no longer use asus brands, at first, i was asus loyalist, i had this PC with asus motherboard, it still function normally for one decade and then my laptop asus a42JA i5 variant, 6years, and i still use it by now, but thats it, nowaday, asus can no longer keep their qualities and services, i have this fonepad me371mg, its totally dead now, cheap battery parts, i assume, it only last for less than a year, and then my office' zenbook UX303LN, bad quality hinges and HDD dead after just 2 weeks, after sending it to service center, and repaired, problems returns, and i had to manually replace all these HDD by myself, despite of void warranties, because users cant wait for 2 weeks service, at last, when asus introduces asus zenfone 2, it really catch my attention, budget phone with 4gb of RAM, and then i purchase it (traded in with samsung galaxy s2), at first i didnt notice, there is deadzone in the touchscreen, some areas we cant touch, and this ghost touches, after sending it to service center, thats another 2 weeks waiting time, i finally got this phone repaired, it seems normal at first, i do some SMMI test, but after another weeks, the problems returns, its all on the internet, i'm not the only one with these symptoms.. but it seems that asus didn't care its a pity, for asus, they going to lose their customers, if they dont improve their quality, market will lose their trust on asus, i dont mind if zenfone 2 is a little bit expensive than current price, as long as they built it to lasts, like my 10yrs old motherboard, and my 6yrs laptop, now i'm totally returning to samsung, yes samsung are much more expensive, and the specifications are less than what asus offers, but theres something that asus fails to deliver, worry-free experience, and now whatever asus offer, i feel sceptical,

  • Why they dropped Intel processor ?

  • Quoting this page: The following ASUS ZenFone models will receive the Android M (6.0) upgrade in Q2 of 2016 PadFone S (PF500KL) ZenFone 2 (ZE550ML, ZE551ML) ZenFone 2 Deluxe (ZE551ML) ZenFone 2 Deluxe Special Edition (ZE551ML) ZenFone 2 Laser (ZE500KG, ZE500KL, ZE550KL, ZE551KL, ZE600KL, ZE601KL) ZenFone Selfie (ZD551KL) ZenFone Max (ZC550KL) ZenFone Zoom (ZX551ML) Q2 had just ended. Where are the updates?

  • worst phone ever! i've just using this phone for not more than a year. just because it has fallen for once, the camera can't function at all as well as the torchlight. for your info, this is the second time my camera can't function. for the first time it can't function, i dont know why. i had bring it to the asus centre and they repaired it for a week. but for this time, i had asked to the asus centre about this prob and they said the warranty was expired. i dont want to repair it by using my money. so i hink bfore buying this phone, pleaseeeeee QA/QC just release the good quality to the market. tq.

  • mine too. screen always flickering

  • For some reason on gorilla glass phones a lot of scratches occur. I have a Nokia Lumia 920 with gorilla glass and there are so many scratches on it. But the durability of the actual phone is great. Also could you please tell me how long the battery lasts for on the Zenfone 2?

  • Strange.. it only came out last year so you using it for 4 years is a littke bit too much.
