Asus Zenfone 5z ZS620KL - User Reviews

 • perfect phone

 • Found a way to solve the lag problem on this Zenfone 5z. It is the ASUS own "Mobile Manager" that cause the problem. At app setting, disable this app, then the "Battery Mode" will back to the style before Android 9 that has "Performance" mode. No need to change to Performance mode, just need to stay at Normal mode, the lag will eventually goes away. It is the weird power saving thing that caused the UI lag.

 • Hi! I own an Asus Zenfone 5z, Android 9, updated in 24 October 2019 to the last firmware. I have a problem since I bought it. When I call someone and that person is talking on the phone, my Asus phone does not show me that person is in Call Waiting. And I maintain the call without I Know the person is in Call Waiting. At my other phone (Asus Zenfone 3, Android 8) this option is ok and I see when the other person is in Call Waiting. Can anybody tell me how to fix this issue? Thank you!

 • best value for money phone's

 • Ok .. I tested this MGC_6.1.021_XCAMBase_F1_v3.apk and it was much better with less problems but Night Sight have a extremely laggy and often still live view. Google Camera pictures are more saturated making it looks like it has more detail compared to Asus current camera app that takes a slightly bright pictures hence the lower perceive details viewed on the Zenfone 5z screen. But both pictures looks the same on my Mac except the Google camera pictures are oversaturated. I will only use Google Camera for Night Sight, when needed, because it is generally buggy as the apk is not made for Asus Zenfone 5z.

 • No ghost touch ... but it is definitely more sensitive than my previous Zenfone. A few mm before you touch the naked screen, it will trigger. But once a screen protector it applied, this sensitivity goes away. This is what I noticed on mine.

 • Is there any ghost touch issue on this like Poco F1 seen on YouTube people are reporting

 • Please share which gcam you are using. I tried 2 versions and it sucks so bad. Any special settings or it works out of the box ? Thanks

 • Great phone on all aspect

 • I have used gcam on my 5z and it works miles better than the regular camera app, it has superior detail, lesser noise, only thing is that it has oversaturated colours. Nightsight helps big time in low light, and videos are better as well with better colours and detail, only it's sad that it lacks 4k 60fps.

 • watermark on my asus zenfone 5z only shows ''zenphone 5'' when its supposed to be ''zenfone 5z''...can anyone help me?thanks

 • watermark on my asus zenfone 5z only shows ''zenfone 5'' when its supposed to be ''zenphone 5z''

 • the design of this phone is very beautiful, and glad it came with headphone jack and fm radio

 • Can someone explain what A, B and C versions of the 5z refer to? Are they the ITU regions? For example, the Americas fall under Region 2 as per ITU. Would that imply that the 'B' version of the 5z is sold in the Americas and the LTE bands are compatible with that region?

 • i'm in love with this phone. it's just amazing

 • very bag mobile only one yerr two time my mobile sarvis center no good pluses no parchess 5z mobile- vested mont

 • Very good phone,,glad to have it

 • I was curious about the Google Camera app that has appeared in many of my Zenfone 5z search and apparently it was better so I went and test 2 versions of it. Conclusion is the Google Camera sucks as it is not optimised for Zenfone 5z. Pictures are blur, focus is wrong and colours are a bit off. The fake blur is also horrible. Don't waste your time with Google Camera.

 • Yes bro...this even i use the same model....the proble. Started after pie update...and it is constant since then....help me how to fix it

 • For case lovers, if you are looking for a good case and screen protector, RhinoShield is your best option. I have tried one cheap case with the corner bumpers but it was too thin for my liking. The included Asus transparent case is much better than this cheap China one. RhinoShield screen protector seems thinner and clearer compared to the included Asus screen protector.

 • About the low sound volume that Zenfone 5z users are complaining about .. I did notice it was not as loud as my Zenfone 2 Laser out of the box but since the 5z is suppose to have better sound, I hunker down and started adjusting my equaliser. In default setting, my normal speaker volume was about 3/4 but with the equaliser done up, my normal speaker volume is about 50%... about 25% drop. My recommendation for settings is to use the included Asus earphones. Go to AudioWizard, tap on the Headphone symbol on the top right. Then use the Listening profile to check where you need to boost in your equaliser. As you go older, you will loose your ability to heard higher pitches, so you will need to boost this section of the equaliser. Once the test is done and I know where to adjust in the equaliser settings, I will abandon the profile. I do not want to lock down the profile as I have many different connections for the earphone jack so a specific profile was not practical. When you are happy with the equaliser settings, Bass and Treble should be 5 or above, then copy and paste to the speaker settings. It should work better than default. Since my first Zenfone, I noticed that Asus keep all their settings at default so it could be a bad Out Of The Box experience. So you will need to get to know your Zenfone to make it work really well to your liking. Even for the "bad battery life" cry babies, there are battery profiles but not activated by default. So use it. You do not need your phone fully active the whole time you are a sleep. If you do not sleep then many phones will not suit you. There are many other reason for bad battery life but that is mainly user error or in rare occasion, hardware fault. My battery last more than a day as I do not stand under the sunlight for a lengthy period ;X

 • very good experience with this phone,,cheap price, amazing performance

 • The signal reception of this phone is very good. The quallcom modem help a lot

 • great experience with this phone. plus,it is nice to hear android 10 will come to this phone

 • Do not buy this HP...there is a bug called 'no service' or 'no network' happen to this HP..many cases reported around the world and asus don noting to solved it..save ur money and buy other brand.

 • Mine is a combination as mentioned the previous reply. Both adapters are no brand adapter and I am having a problem with the USB-C to microUSB connector getting disconnected .. I think it is getting loose.

 • What O-T-G Type-C adapter brand are you using? if Remax is crappy, i need to source other brand. Please assist...

 • Forgot to mention the OTG .. no issues. Works as expected even after I upgraded to the lastest firmware after my first review. Mine was a microUSB to USB A OTG adapter and I added a USB-C to microUSB converter and it works fine. Remax is actually a pretty crappy brand since their QC is quite bad. With USB-C, I always use a magnifying glass to check the pins before using it and I have come across some really sketch stuff even though the overall packaging looks good.

 • this phone have super value for money

 • Using 5Z for a year now and it's flawless. I'm using normal USB with type c otg adaptor and it works fine.

 • Do you have any issue with O-T-G? I bought an O-T-G type-C adapter: REMAX brand, so that i can transfer files from phone to pendrive. Each time, the phone cannot detect the O-T-G. Were you able to find a solution or workaround??? Please do not say to install another file manager app. i want to use the build in file manager app. I also use & still using Asus Padfone S Plus, that phone O-T-G function is flawless. can read NTFS, FAT16, FAT32 formatted pendrives. My Asus Zenfone 5z has O-T-G issues. I believe everyone who owned the Zenfone 5z has O-T-G issues...how to fix this???

 • Its hardware problem u r unlucky

 • i'hv reached more than a year of using this phone. altho its so underrated but i never regret, possible best for bucks for i'hv had for now. from screen, all the way down to performance. not to mention im very satisfied with this type of ips, it has high ppi which is very close to my friend's amoled. will continue to use until 2020. gj asus

 • What an absolute bargain for the Asus Zenfone 5z ZS620KL 8GB RAM 256GB storage. The price keeps dropping in Malaysia since Jan 2019. Really a flagship killer at this price point. It is a great phone and everything works. Most of the issues I read were from India and mainly due to weak service provider signal or user error. The WiFi gets weaker if you cup the top area with your hand but that is if you are a distance away from the router. This is normal. The included Asus cable is an amazing quality and this was my first time seeing such quality cable. The charger is a 18W fast charger. From my tests and calculations, estimate Fast Charging at 9v 1.69A will take about 1 hour 20 minutes for a full charge while normal charging will take 4hours and 35 minutes on 5v 1A. I had no lagging issues and so far everything has been snappy except for the one occasion where Firefox update caused a hang but it was solve with a reboot. I noticed my CPU temp went from 43 deg C to 73 deg C. I do not have AI Boost (overclocking) turn on because the phone is already snappy. No point overclocking or overheating your phone for no reason if there is an error with the app like I mentioned earlier. I am currently on Android Pie WW_user_90.11.162.98_20190816. I receive the phone with Android 8 and FOTA to latest Android Pie. The included transparent case was nice but I wanted to look for something with more Otterbox like but without much success. Rhinoshield has thin front lips that I do not prefer (no protection to screen) since most China case and the included Zenfone silicone case already have the same thin lips for cheaper. Finding a screen protector with curve edges are also a task since most drops will damage the sides ( curve part of ) screen. Earphone are also included together with a SIM eject tool. Battery life is good. No issues with screen. Most of what I have read in forums and Facebook groups are mainly user errors with some being genuine hardware / software issues. If you do not learn what are the limits or functions of your device, then it is user error. It has been a happy 3 weeks.

 • Nice phone. No major problems. Still rocking in 2019-2020 with SD 845😁😎

 • hi, does anyone tried using USB-C port to be audio using converter? audio for listen music or audio/mic for call

 • very good phone with reasonable price

 • I am not satisfied with phone. Biggest problem is typo errors. I use same Google Keyboard as I use in my other phone but no typo errors in other phone but in Asus 5Z lot of spelling mistakes.I this screen is an issue.Sometimes letters miss and at other times adjacent letter gets typed. YouTube is slower at 512kbps connection as compared to Motorola G5s Screen gets unresponsive sometimes. Sometimes screen becomes white contrast and automatically changes contrast to yellowish Touch feedback is not good, feels very hard to press while other phones have very soft feedback. What's app is slow and does not backup when in roaming Í am not satisfied with this phone

 • good overall experience with this phone,,screen, camera, battery life, everything is great

 • Mine is over one year, no network and charging issue. My network is seriously good, no call drop, no data drop. Charging is very fast, I use with car QC3.0 charger, various type-C cable, also various QC3.0 charger, all no issue. The only thing it has on charger is when using with QC2.0 charger, it doesn't show fast charging, and the charging is only 9W. Then it cannot properly compatible with USB-PD charger. I only complain on the serious lag after one day. This is the biggest problem that bugs me. You might be the only one that is bad luck to get a bad unit. If really after repair and the problem is not solve, then you got to go to SC to settle the problem again.

 • Yes Z5 will receive Android Q update

 • Ridiculous phone.... Faced issue with charging and network. Got it repaired.. Again faced the same problem with installing update. What a rubbish phone is this. Highly avoid to purchase this phone. No coordination between hardware and software.😏

 • I think you need to set the camera "Anti-Flicker" option to "Auto" might solve the problem for greenish pinkish color noise while recording video.

 • Finally, this phone lag for no reason, zen forum mention after Android Pie updates is plagued with lag. The lag happen after sometime in the usage. The lag gone after restarting the phone, but will come back again. I really hope ASUS fix this issue ASAP as the issue is still there after latest July security patch.

 • I only saw this issue when in low light condition. For extreme low light part is worse, but that is ok, because low light camera always challenging. There is no problem if the scene is properly lit.

 • Mine's have camera issues, it shows green, pink bluish noisy colors while doing videos it's sometimes visible in taking pictures. Someone tell me if they can fix it Via OTA or it is a hardware issue? It's annoying makes may videos so noisy

 • Mine's have camera issues, it shows green, pink bluish noisy colors while doing videos it's sometimes visible in taking pictures. Someone tell me if they can fix it Via OTA or it is a hardware issue? It's annoying makes may videos so noisy

 • Do this phone have swipe gesture? It's seems navigation control are so ancient.

 • Mine still ok, can focus even near macro level. Service center is the way to go?

 • the phone worked perfectly for a year now until recently my main cameras focus started to malfunction. at first i had to shake the phone for it to focus. now the focus is fixed at 1m or so. cant even focus manually using pro mode. any one else facing the same issue?

 • Couldn't agree more with you. I got no issue with the phone. So far so good, really good. Flawless.

 • When July security patch will be available on 5z ? Asus now realy delaying on security update in 5z

 • Yes, it will have the same UI as Zenfone 6's UI, near stock Android. You can see some videos on YouTube for 5Z with Android Q beta. The problem is, when will Asus update 5Z to Q after Android Q is official? Timing of update is not one Asus' cup of coffee so far, even after promises in front of media from their management team.

 • I have been using this phone for six months and haven't had any technical issue at all

 • Overheat as what condition? Gaming? Daily normal usage I barely encounter any heating, even at bad network area, this phone doesn't get overheat, no battery drain, no network issue too, no gps issue. The only problem I found is sometime the UI is laggy when unlock the phone, but this issue somehow is fixed with the latest patch release on June, with security patch May 5 2019. I always restart the phone when deal with this UI lag, it has been gone now. WW ZS620KL model.

 • What camera issue you are facing?

 • Overheat issue still exists there?

 • **Please save yourself from the fraud that is ASUS** I purchased 2 Asus Zenfone 5z and both of them developed the identical camera issues **within 1 year **of purchase. A simple google search on the matter will show you that like me, there are 1000s who have bought these devices and are suffering from the same problem. The fraud doesn’t merely end at knowingly selling defective pieces, it extends into the quality of service (or the lack thereof) after sales. Despite in the custody of ASUS service center for **more than a month**, I was told that they have fixed **3 completely different issues (from the one reported). **This is the equivalent of performing brain surgery on a heart patient. **For the icing on the cake**, they claim to have already delivered the phone back to me whereas I never received it. Their delivery agent has irresponsibly handed over an INR 27,000 item to a random stranger **NEAR MY ADDRESS. ** Yes, the delivery agent didn’t even bother reaching the actual address. He simply handed it over to the first human he saw in the area. **ASUS has refused to take responsibility. Recap: 1) **I paid 27000 for a phone that has a proven lifespan of < 1 year 2) I handed over the device for Camera repair and 1 month later there is 0 work done 3) When no issues regarding network & connectivity were raised, they have gone ahead and “fixed the issues” anyways 4) They have misplaced my property and have 0 sense of responsibility. I have already gone on to file a case of legal action against them. I would like to do my part in saving others from this fraud.

 • I found this 5z face unlock implementation is quite powerful where even placing the phone in the landscape mode, either side, it still can perform face unlock, placed at upside down position also no problem, virtually it just works on any angle. This is being compared to Pocophone F1 that the face unlock only works in single portrait position.

 • Why you say ZenUI sucks? I found it is one of the minimalist UI in the market. Yes, welcome and sell your 5z and get a 6z.

 • will the asus 5z get an update for the next version of android with the asus 6 software(nearly stock android) on it. ZenUi sucks need a cleaner version or else i am selling my product.

 • I see thx

 • I installed Android Q beta :D

 • New features When it launches, Android Q will be full of exciting new features. For now, here are some of the impressive new features that you’ll enjoy with the Android Q Beta program: Dark Theme: Android Q now has a system-wide Dark Theme. Activate Dark Theme in Settings, or by turning on Battery Saver. Suggested actions in notifications: You can now take action on messages with suggested actions in notification. Prioritized notifications: You can decide whether an app’s notifications are interruptive or gentle. Interruptive notifications will make noise, vibrate, and appear on your lock screen, whereas gentle ones will not. Android Q also introduces algorithms to automatically determine whether notifications should be interruptive.

 • Does it have hdr display like other high end phones?

 • Does this phone support internal audio recording?

 • What is new there ?

 • very happy with this phone

 • Anyone want to try out Android Q Beta? here's the link:

 • To answer that question properly, every phone get hot while charging, that's it. It is science of electrical. When it is not getting hot, meaning it is on slow charging. For it's QC3.0 fast charging, it does get hot.

 • Hi bro. Some phones get hot when charging (fast charging). So, don't worry and enjoy this lovely beast! I have the ZenFone 4 Pro ZS551KL SE and it gets warm when charging, i suggest using a coolerpad ;)

 • Lightweight,slim,beauty,headphone jack & FM radio..IMO,this is the best snapdragon 845 phone

 • What is the apps you use to open folder? There is a built in ZenUI File Manager, which can be installed from Play Store as well, which I think is very useful. You can try uninstall it, then reinstall from Play Store.

 • Recent update broke this phone. Im unable to to open my folder to use my apps.

 • I don't know but I think that the phone is superb. But recently I have been noticing that my phone is getting hot while charging . Even after AI is been kept on.

 • Very good phone, good camera and performance, beautiful design

 • Agreed... Totally...

 • Every smartphone has flaws. The comparisons on good and bad are no end, there are no perfect smartphones. That's it.

 • Thanks .. that qualifies as macro shot.

 • Great phone,reasonable price..love it

 • I never asked too much, but the camera is average and the audio quality is also average, I use different top quality headphones. By the way, I live in a metro with very good FM signal coverage and even cheap phones in the same location show pretty good reception (I know that the headphone acts as quarter wave antenna - I am an enthusiast with tech background). Now, coming to the battery drain, my phone drains 20% in 6 hours in safe mode (note that in safe mode only stock apps run) with super power savings tuned on. I know, for many such issue is not there, but there are several people who got phones which exhibit this bug. This speaks the s/w quality of this phone. So, buyers beware.

 • Pkp70 seems like some kind of a hater. Talking about the forum link, you go to every phone's forum links and you will people posting issues. Go search iPhone XS issues and you will find 100s of threads on forums. I'm using the phone for 4 months and the phone is flawless. It's not us who are lucky who haven't any issues with the phone. It's actually you who is unlucky who may have received a phone which is not working properly.

 • 1. I agree it's camera is not the best, but not the worst for it's price. This is justified with it's price, unless you wish to buy more expensive phone out there. 2. You might want to upgrade your headphone for Audio quality. I dislike all smartphone loud speakers. 3. FM depend on signal quality and the headphone used as antenna. You might check on that. 4. Battery drain happen on all smartphone, it might be the apps you installed or the Android system drain. I personally is acceptable with the drain, not the worst in the price range category. All in all, you might asking too much for what this ASUS Zenfone 5z has to offer in this price range.

 • Navigation bar has change

 • I just wrote what I observed on my phone. It has all the issues I mentioned for me. You may be lucky. That is what happens in a poor quality product that different people will observe different issues and some none at all. If you don't believe, visit this forum - Several users complain about these issues and there are many who say, they don't see this issue. S/w is always like that, bugs surface for different users based on their use case.

 • Well, I am using this for last six months and just posted my observation. You may be lucky that you got a device which didn't show these problems I highlighted. You can see many users complaining here also Anyway, if it is working good for you doesn't mean it will be same for all.

 • Recently I have been facing a problem in Zenfone 5z that it lags and shutters too much sometimes it is hard to even use I hope Asus 2 fix this issue

 • I have updated 91MB latest update.. i have no issue now and before.. so no change to me..

 • I think that pkp70 is a troller from other brand. They troll good product that can be their serious competitor. This zenfone 5z, I'm using it myself, and it's a good product on all aspect.

 • This guy keep talking about non exist issue

 • Any one else get an update notification. If you have could you share what's new. I'm downloading now. Just wondering what's new. Thanks.

 • This is my 3rd ASUS mobile phone. 1) ASUS Fonepad FHD Note 6 2) ASUS Padfone S Plus Now 3) ASUS Zenfone 5Z (6 Ram/128Memory) Overall satisfied. Just today; April 3, 2019. received firmware update: ZenFone 5Z ZS620KL_WW_90.11.162.50 1. Update security patch to 2019-02-05. 2. Fix Line Photo Rotates issue. 3. Improve sound quality. I can say, speaker audio quality is the best, i can set to outdoor setting and in noisy environment, i can hear the audio putting the phone at half the arms' length from my face. Can play: - graphic demanding games, - UHD quality video, - Dolby Surround sound, Only issue as for me, i can't seem to do OTG external thumb drive to read. Hope ASUS able to fix this. Never had any issue with Padfone S Plus & Fonepad FHD Note 6 OTG function; can read exFat [SDXC], Fat32 [SDHC] & NTFS drive format. Zenfone 5z unable to read properly via plug & play. I had to go to developer option to play around the settings in order to have it read every time plugging in an OTG external thumb drive.

 • Nope at all..i think you have no experience using this phone at all. I've been using this for the past 3 months and what it gives me is beyond my expectations. So, i think your irrational opinion is misleading . I'm hoping you to get to use this phone first then comment.

 • Don't go by the fancy h/w of 5Z. It has poor s/w update lifecycle and pathetic s/w quality. Poor audio quality and battery drain issues (for some). FM radio is noisy and average camera.

 • But FM radio is very noisy even with clear signals (other cheap phones also give better reception in the same location). Asus has failed to update this even after several requests. Also poor audio quality.

 • Defenitly zenfone 5z over vivo v15. you got snapdragon 845 phone, more compact, more lighweight, plus better software support. oppo/vivo usually don't give software update to the phone, you buy pie,you stay with pie forever

 • i am planing to buy a new smartphone i am confused between vivo v15 and asus zenfone 5z(64 gb) so please suggest me better phone

 • I hardly get any issue with it , battery is fine last all day , camera fine too (did u expect to be at s10+ quality ?) The quality match the price

 • Well they enabled it after a long time. Now it is there, but too later after they started selling. It shows. But camera quality and other issues are still there. Surprise thing with this phone is different people experience different s/w problems with this phone.

 • Beautiful design, fast performance, and glad that FM radio is present

 • R u even for real ? Camera2api was enabled by default

 • Don't go by the advertised fancy hardware. This phone is having several software issues. 1.) Average camera. 2.) Poor audio quality (eq setting is also poor). 3.) Noisy FM radio. 4.) Unexplained Battery standby drain. Please see all issue in -

 • Lot of issues with the phone. See one star reviews on flipkart. Please see

 • This phone is very good for gaming

 • You don't need to test, the note 7 pro is a midranger while the ZenFone 5z is a flagship, simple!

 • Do u know what is the head phone name ? My brother broke it -_- , planning to get it again

 • hello guys needs help as m planning to buy new phone and confused between asus zenfone z5 (256+8) and samasung galaxy note 8(64+6). i know storage is a big difference between both but what about battery as both having 3300mah and which one is having great camera which is my priority. Any advice would be nice.

 • No issues whatsoever with the phone. You are getting 128 GB variant at around 24k these days for this phone which is a real steal deal. You also get high quality headphones along with the phone. The better phone than this is offcourse one plus 6t. I say better because it has a slightly better front camera than this phone and almost nothing else. But it costs 14k more than this phone in the current scenario. Also Zenfone 5z makes up for it's front camera by providing high quality audio output through both speakers and audio jack. There are no software issues and phone is buttery smooth. You won't notice any difference in performance between One Plus 6T and Asus Zenfone 5Z. P.S Front camera is really good but not as good as One plus 6T.

 • Are there any issues on zenfone 5z like heating or fast battery draining and do software issue still persist. Need a phone for heavy gaming with fast processor please suggest guys and Thanks

 • did you test it?

 • It has 4G+(4.5G)

 • have this phone for one week,i can say that this is a very good phone and absolute recomended

 • If u mean by close subject to camera, need like half of my finger the closest it could go b4 it start to blur im an asian btw so hands is smaller

 • Is it have 4.5G network on jio sim Poco phone have 4.5G

 • I have a Zenfone 2 Laser and I noticed the Zenfone camera is excellent for macro shots compared with normal shots. Macro in the sense of about 2 - 5 inches away from the subject. Normal shots are just normal for me on any smartphone since it is not a proper DSLR quality. I like this feature of macro shots. Is the 5z the same ? Laser autofocus available ? Thanks.

 • Thanks bro for an honest review.

 • wow.... what an amazing mobile with splendid features. super sharp display with very accurate and natural colors, you can see anything under direct sunlight. the dual speakers provide the highest crystal clear volume sound (....not noise), without any distortion. Excellent cameras, especially the back one with AI. you can compare it with any flagship mobile. the low light/night photography is marvellous. absolutely superb speed with snapdragon 845. no heating at any task. one and a half day battery backup for a heavy user. ultra fast charging with AI. very easy to use. you can lock/hide any app with fingerprint. inbuilt call recorder for easy use. currently running on android pie with regular updates.

 • Is Asus ZenFone 5Z Dual SIM full active? If You receive a call on one Sim, is the other one still active or during the call is blocked?

 • Super fast phone,,the design and build quality were amazing

 • Even the description say the capacity of battery are 3+++ mAh but it last longer than the description said

 • Excellent phone. Have been using for 3 months. Only issue is Airtel volte don't work in this phone while jio works flawlessly. Battery good. Display good. Performance good. Camera okay. Didn't like the default launcher. Installed Nova prime and my phone feels awesome.

 • No

 • any battery draining issue when not using the phone?

 • Very recomended phone,it is great on all aspect and the price is reasonable

 • When will we receive the next security update for this phone? I have recently bought this phone and I just want to know how many often does each this phone receive monthly security updates? Is it bi-montly like oneplus ?

 • Actually at my region, Poco F1 is cheaper on the 64GB version (no 64GB version of Zenfone 5z at my region). But if comparing the both on 128GB, both actually almost has the same price now, or Poco F1 just go by slightly cheaper. Of course, Zenfone 5z is the better phone out there, complete with NFC, Widewine L1 support, proper stereo speaker with DTS X, modern glass body with metal frame, with 3.5mm jack and Micro SD slot too. But still don't have AMOLED and wireless charging,no IP68, but is equipped with a much better IPS LCD compared to Poco F1 IPS LCD, smaller chin, smaller notch. Only thing Zenfone 5z lose to Poco F1 is the battery capacity, where Zenfone 5z is 3300mah, Poco F1 has 4000mah with liquid cooling.

 • Any camera improvements with Android Pie update? The samples I have seen had darkened faces in Portrait mode...?

 • Does it have any difference between the base variant and 8gb ram variant in terms of camera and software ?

 • Zenfone 5z is far better than redmi note 7 pro,,it has better processor, more compact and less weight

 • Which is phone is better newly launched redme note 7 pro or the older asus 5z ? Please help! i am unable to decide.

 • QC 3.0 9V2A (18W).

 • Quick charge 3.0 or 4.0?

 • 6+ hours SOT. I have no problems with the battery life of this phone. I don't play games. Only YouTube Twitter Chrome and Watching live Cricket. It give me whole day.

 • Could you tell me battery lasts for how many hours after heavy use? Also how many hours of screentime does it give in average?

 • Its really a perfect phone and the software for battery is eminent 110% perfect for sure. My wife have this phone and she is a heavy user and always have battery for the whole day... Amazing

 • Very nice and perfect phone

 • Sorry bro no idea

 • I'm using the phone since 5 days. I have found that battery is more than sufficient. It lasts a day easily with heavy usage.

 • battery just 3300 mah not recommended!

 • 5z obviously better , people only take poco if the wallet is tight

 • Go for Asus ZenFone 5z and you will be happy..... It's just a suggestion and what will you buy it's up to you......

 • Very good on all aspect,,absolute recomended

 • I am planning to upgrade my Honor 8 phone. But I am confused between Asus zenfone 5z and Poco F1. I am more into listening music and watching videos plus battery and camera is my priority. Someone please help me

 • Google it or try XDA-Developers.

 • Can anyone tell me how do I install Google camera on this phone after Pie update? Is there any link where I can download the application directly?

 • In india 6/64 GB is currently available for only INR 22000 or $310 and 2 days back I almost bought it for INR 30000 or $420 then thought something and cancelled the transaction.. feeling so lucky right now..

 • This phone is amazing, great low light camera, great build quality

 • Yes, just updated. Security patch is 5 January 2019, others updates is fix some sim card cannot be detected issue on mutiple time zone, and also improve camera EIS.

 • Just updated it , it give january security patch

 • Yes, I did received the update too. Haven't updated.

 • I ve received 279 MB update in the phone after 2nd pie update..any one updated to that?

 • I actually simultaneously uses Zenfone 5z and Pocophone F1 side by side, both are 128GB version, both the price difference half year ago is around rs3,500, with the 5z being the more expensive one. Yes, Zenfone 5z overall is a much better phone, complete with NFC, Widewine L1 support, proper glass back body, metal frame, more proper and louder stereo speakers, much better IPS LCD screen without bleeding, thinner and lighter, comes with quality ear bud, OIS camera, full support for 4G+ for all network in my region, much thinner chin, smaller notch. Both share proper smartphone features such as Full HD plus screen, 3.5mm jack, micro SD slot. Then Poco F1 has 20MP selfie camera, 4000mah battery, and liquid cooling, but lacking NFC, no widevine L1 support. But of course, from day to day usage, both are almost similar in performance. Both ZenUI and MIUI are great, in MIUI I disable many of the ads feature, doesn't mind if ads appear in MIUI system apps such as the cleaner app, I only use Chrome Browser. I think both are good to use, I use both as daily driver, and actually cannot fault both phone, both are great on their own, I bought 128GB micro SD for each of it. As for the verdict, because at my region, Poco F1 has 64GB version that is cheaper, then would suggest get the Poco F1 if really budget constraint. As for 128GB version, then no doubt, should pay little extra to get the Zenfone 5z instead, simply Zenfone 5z offer much more than Pocophone F1, and is actually cheaper than Mi8 128GB for around rs4,000. (Mi8 128GB is rs7,000 more expensive than Poco F1 128GB). Some might say Oneplus 6 is the better phone to go, well, Oneplus 6 128GB version half years ago with official warranty in my region is way more expensive than both smartphones for the same 128GB version. (Pricing for ASUS Zenfone 5z 128GB version half year ago is around rs29,700, Pocophone F1 128GB version is around rs26,200, Oneplus 6 128GB version is around rs48,900)

 • I bought it in taiwan since july 3 2018 and after 7 months still in good shape no problem and after upgrade to Pie its getting better and better so far so good

 • You eating your words

 • Bought 5z during OMG sale. A couple of thing i was worried about before purchasing this phone 1. Zen UI is good ? Definitely not bad. Uninstalled/ Disabled all unwanted apps. Didn't like stock Gallery and File manager apps . Disabled them and installed Simple Gallery and ES explorer 2. Battery drain ? Feels ok to me . I'm getting 6+ hours SOT. 3. Zen UL is boring ? Kind off. I slapped Nova prime. It's good now. Some in built features like app lock comes handy. 4. Camera ? Even if not great for. 22 k this looks good. Im waiting for stable version of GCam for pie update. 5. Heating? For normal use i don't find any heating issues. Sorry i don't play games. 6. Network? WiFi good. Dual 4G good. 7. Should i buy ? For 22k i don't think any other phone offers so many features. Not a fan of Xiaomi. They have ads on their phones. So Poco doesn't interests me.

 • I have use zenfone 5Z few months, from 9/2018 until 2/2019, its smooth than others , if we want to compare the camera SPECIFICATION, that was have many opinion from others .Just choose what you want . as for me 256 rom 8gb ram was good for me to take photo ,video and keep.

 • I have tested the speed test before using just 2.4Ghz WiFi and it reach 50Mbps both download and upload on a basic fiber broadband network.

 • its just nice!

 • It's 2.8 ghz , sd 845 is by default is 2.8 ghz and not sure about wifi 20 mbps or not , but it faster than my friend note 8

 • Howz the battery backup, I m planning to buy it pls help

 • Couldn't agree more since Asus offers cheap price for high performance phone ,this phone will be the best phone and good competitor for other brands. Plus, this phone doesn't seems to copy its predecessors such as zenfone 2 which it has a lot of bloatware but it is packed with useful apps and you have the choice whether to uninstall insignificant apps

 • Go for it. The snapdragon 845 is still very capable in 2019,,plus this phone offer something rare on snapdragon 845 phone that is FM Radio and headphone jack

 • Bro should I buy this in 2019 or should I wait for some upcoming devices?

 • This phone is super good on all aspect, the price is also reasonable

 • Just my opinion,,between 2,7 & 2,8 ghz,the diferent is very little, i think the truth is on asus web which is 2,8 ghz. about the wifi speed,it support 802.11 ac,theoritically it can goes more than 800 mbps,i have seen the wifi speed on this phone from my friend phone,it can easily past 20 mbps on our office wifi..

 • I am planning to buy this handset Asus Zenfone 5z in India. If any Asus Zenfone 5z user can help me clear my doubts, I would be much obliged. I have watched many videos, websites regarding this handset but, they give conflicting data. While Asus official Indian website mentions processor speed of this ZenFone 5Z (ZS621KL) as 2.8Ghz, the GSM arena mentions it as 2.7GHz. Which data is correct? Is it suppose to do something with the 6Gb, 128Gb or 256Gb variant? Secondly, as far the "A version" and "B version, C version" of 3G, 4G bands concerned from my point of view "B version, C version" consists extra bands so, which one of them ZenFone 5Z (ZS620KL) or ZenFone 5Z (ZS621KL) model supports them? Do I even need them in India? Thirdly, I have seen many Speed test videos of Asus Zenfone 5z which shows it struggles to go past 20Mbps in Wi-Fi connection but, its counterpart OnePlus 6,6t or iphone x touches mark of about 70Mbps. Is it true? Because I'm about to upgrade my internet broadband upto 100Mbps and in that case I won't be able to benefit much from wi-fi.

 • Does enabling LTE on both the Sims drains battery faster ? I have Jio and Airtel. Which will should i put in the first slot ? Airtel doesnt have Volte support as of now right. ?

 • Just received android pie,,the phone become more sweet

 • My Zenfone 5Z has got the OTA update to Pie.

 • After update to pie, audio seems delay when playing rhythm game(deresute).

 • This is one of the most underrated smartphone of 2018 that actually much better equipped than Xiaomi Pocophone F1, Xiaomi Mi8/Mi Mix 2S, and Oneplus 6/6T. Price are actually close to Pocophone F1 128GB, and cheaper than Xiaomi Mi8 128GB and Mi Mix 2S 128GB at my region. (Oneplus 6 and 6T are far more expensive at my region) Only 128GB and 256GB version are sold in my region. (LG G7 is not launched at my region on 2018)

 • I agree with you. With the new update my phone's battery can hold much longer than it was before. It works smoothly almost in every aspect but only one thing that triggers me ...to adjust the alarm volume and others it will directly brings you to the settings which interrupts me when playing games. My overall opinion, the phone is still in amazing performance.

 • The new Android Pie updates almost has no issues. Maybe the most obvious one being the wide angle camera focus indicator do not turn into green color after image is focused. Others issue can be view on ASUS Zentalk forum, non of these happen on my device. My gyroscope and accelerometer works, GPS works, 4G+ and voice call are ok. Some one did say the size of wallpaper on lockscreen and homescreen is not the same, this is because the "Motion Effect" function is turned on.

 • Thanks :)

 • No issue at all..it works really fine

 • Just received an update for around 1022 MB, If anyone has updated then do reply if there is any issue with the latest version.

 • I manage to update to Android Pie few days ago manually via ASUS official website, but somehow they have taken down the update for no reason (download link is taken down) , maybe there are still problems on the new Android Pie updates. The update posted date is 22 Jan 2019, I get to see the link and description on the support page by 24 Jan 2019 and I downloaded and updated on the same day. Well, just maybe, you need to wait longer for the official stable updates to be rolling out. The manual update download link actually still alive, but I can't posted here.

 • Very good and beauty phone

 • Pie update 2020 december

 • Hats off for such a great excuse

 • Will Zenfone 5Z get android pie update this year or we need to wait until 2020?

 • Official Android Pie upgrade for Zenfone 5z is rolling out. If don't want to wait for OTA update, can go to official ASUS website to download the 1.7GB zip file into the phone internal storage and manually do the update. I have updated since this morning, so far no issue.

 • with 6GB Ram and 128 Storage, Dam fast and best price for this.

 • Got this phone Rs 23500 in Flipkart in india.

 • Very good phone! it's super fast, good camera, lightweight, and still equip with FM Radio and headphone jack

 • That concern how big a phone and heavy need to be made too. I think in future all smart would at least pack in 4000mah battery, but not at this moment. Of course adding bigger battery capacity is not the absolute solution, using lower powered screen such as AMOLED, and using lower powered SoC, and OS and apps optimization also will improve battery life.

 • This is a yes and no answer. It is very common to see everyone complains when they updated to Android Pie and face many problem and bugs and request to rollback to Android Oreo instead and wait for the more stable Android Pie updates rather than get used to those issues. So, don't be so proud of those phone that get fast Android Pie updates, stability is much more important than just rushing for updates. Of course you can always flame that ASUS is very slow in upgrading their Android version, but please be realistic on those updates, it need time to test and stabilized.

 • You should check out the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 and ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 which use SD636 and SD660 processor and priced competitively against others. OPPO I know now they have the Realme brand, which also priced competitively at the same price range. Third competitor would be the Honor brand, which also take a good fight. Again, at my country, I can officially bought ASUS, Xiaomi, Realme and Honor branded smartphones, which might not sold at worldwide region.

 • this is asus debate not lg or gand G

 • yes in your dreams

 • big batteries and shit performances are for mid ranges. Flagships always had asshles batteries rememebr that.

 • Super phone,,great from all aspect, with reasonable price

 • improve the damn battery. If you can stuff 5000 mah into mid range then sure you can stuff inside this at least 4000 mah. Aholes.

 • How soon will get the Official Pie update over Mobile.. Is there any particular date...

 • in Indonesia Oneplus 6T price is more than Zenfone 5Z

 • This phone offer complete package,,good camera & screen,FM radio,headphone jack,NFC,slim and lightweight..very nice

 • Let's see the future. :)

 • Love this phone so much, it's very great

 • Can't see anyone challenging Xiaomi in the budget android sector ATM but think the only one making any kind of challenge would be OPPO not Asus.

 • Very nice phone,,beautiful design, great camera and great performance

 • There's some points that LG G5 still has better camera than G7 ThinQ. Btw, do you really compared them or you read from other reviews?

 • LG G5? Really? The G7 ThinQ one has lower-powered camera compared to this one and you say that? You kidding me?

 • Very glad to have this phone! every factor is great

 • My Samsung S7 and Nokia 7 Plus also delivered sharper images with more details.

 • In my opinion, the camera is great (if not the best), plus this phone have the beautiful design, FM Radio and headphone jack, all with reasonable price

 • Agreed with that, the camera is not among the best. My LG G5, S7 edge and Pixel 2 XL performed better than this one.

 • This is actually a confusing spec. By default, all phone with SD820, SD821, SD835 and SD845 SoC do support all the Hi-Res Bluetooth audio codec, such as AptX and LDAC, these Bluetooth audio codec options actually selectable at developer mode. I doesn't has any AptX or LDAC wireless headphone to test, can't verify these functionality. This 5z does has that AptX audio codec option at developer option.

 • Not DSLR, compared it with various other midrangers, like redmi 6 pro, redmi note 5 pro and 6pro, moto g4 plus (my last phone) one plus 5, 5T, 6, 6T, etc. Images lacks details when you zoom. I dont know whether its my phone or your too. But in my opinion camera and software updates are really weak part of zenfone 5z.

 • Slim,lightweight,reliable camera,,great phone asus

 • No it's not

 • but asus Zenfone 5z doesn't have aptx and aptx hd so sad😥

 • Impresive phone ! I'm very happy with it

 • Tough call. Asus has headphone jack and dedicated hardware for audio enhancement and ZENUI is better than MIUI in my personal opinion, look and feel is more stock like. MI 8 has better display, AMOLED. Will probably get faster update than ASUS. If you are more in music, go for ASUS. If you want a better dislay, faster updates and can live with MIUI, go for MI 8 :)

 • This phone have everything,,i'm very satisfiee,,good job asus

 • Asus zenfone 5z or xiaomi mi 8?

 • Wow,this phone makes me very happy, the design is beautiful, the camera is good,,whats more, the FM radio and headphone jack are still present

 • Its all about the price. If you are able to undercut other devices of your choice, this is the most affordable+balanced phone with SD 845. Am using it for 4 months now and am pretty satisfied with it. I bought it $70 cheaper than OP 6 BTW, which for me was worth. FYI, i also liked ASUS skin better than Oxygen OS. ZENUI is more close to stock android in terms of look and feel

 • You would end up charging this phone twice a day, given that you are an average mobile user. Youtube+PUBG etc :P Rest, this phone is perfect :)

 • Have you seen the reports of all the bugs with PIE update ? Am actually thinking of skipping this update and wait for next stable one

 • Below average ?? What are you comparing this with ? Cannon DSLR ? :P I like the camera on this device, in par with OP 6. Decent battery, amazing audio quality and performance. Yeah, updates could have been more regular but am ok with that. On the other hand, an 3700 MAh battery would have killed other flagships :)

 • This phone is a very beautiful flagship from asus,,overall i'am very satisfied from every aspect of this phone

 • Dear, its camera quality below average. Yes, it does not lag, but app crashing is a major problem. Battery is average. For a flagship phone it need to provide regular security updates. Still on oreo 8.0, it will get pie soon but thats the last major you will get. In my opinion it does not deserve 'FLAGSHIP STATUS'

 • no pie update in india yet. still waiting!

 • Did anyone receive Android pie update here in India?

 • Best phone i've used so far,,with it's 3,5 mm jack and FM radio,i think this phone is a best choice (snapdragon 845 phone)

 • Why need compare? Oneplus 6T has far less feature to offer. It maybe almost same at India, but Zenfone 5z is actually much cheaper than Oneplus 6T at some region. Even at my region, Samsung Note 9 actually comes down to a price that is comparable to Oneplus 6T.

 • The Battery is good overall. It has Pie update ready to get FOTA

 • oneplus no fm radio, no 3.5mm jack

 • Lowlight is coomparable to pixel2 !!!!!! Are you kiding?

 • Oneplus 6t is far better for same price

 • How's the software updates monthly? Got pie yet? How's the battery I came frm Lenovo P2 5100mAh I see Honor View 10 /honor 10 poor battery. This one seems even smaller battery size...

 • Best Price to Performance Phone

 • Hi, i'm using this phone (6gb + 128gb) for last 4months now and its totally awesome to say atleast. Phone never lags or stutters even during heavy multi tasking. On the contarary, my wife's poco F1 lags a bit occasionally but i never felt that with asus 5z. Camera is miles ahead compared to poco especially in low light (btw its low lihht performance is directly comparable to pixel 2 and huawei p20)

 • Im planning to buy this phone on february next year. Will it still worth it? In terms of relevancy?

 • Help me ! Should i install official android pie asus Taiwan version

 • Is there any hang or lagginess during uses??? Honest review plz. Plz I m buying now via Flipboard 6gb+128gb model. Thanks in advance

 • I bought the 8/256 model for RM2299 ($550), used this for a couple of months maybe 2/3 idk. So far no complaints at all except camera itself. It's good but little bit underwhelming compared to Pixel 2 XL and LG G5. Btw, still worth the penny.

 • Best deal in flipkart for 6gb with 128gb for 25k

 • Wrong . if thats true then the poco comes with 'pureandroid'

 • Now after 4 months using very satisfied. Everything is ok and the camera is fine and gcamera is glorious in low light conditions. After using dozens of different phones this 5z is the best one.

 • I think this phone is one of the greatest snapdragon 845 phone..plus it's offer very good value for money

 • So far so good,,this is the best phone i've used so far,,screen, camera, lightweight,,and it's nice to see that this phone have FM Radio & 3,5 mm jack !!

 • Then I would say these become like the preference thing. All things are not perfect. Definitely there are product that has defect, and that is where the warranty come. These problem are base on luck too. You will see comments which say no problem at all, and also comments that say every frustration that they face. You will also see people complains on Samsung S9 too, so does this Zenfone 5z being hated by not being better than more expensive alternative. It is your freedom to pick the phone you like the most. You will realized no single product will made people feel satisfied as long as there are other alternative product in the market.

 • Since you wont believe without proof Here goes this my zengone 5z. Made in republic of chinese chips. Waste of money. Switched back to samsung s9 the true king of flagship not this flagship wannabe.. even there CEO resigns because of immense losses due to returns and complaints. So goodluck with future software support for zenfone products. Look at there forum full of complaonts there costumer sercice representative give solutions even noobs know and you probably tried. And they refuse to acknowledge and even delete some threads. Im even planning to send my asus gl553 laptop once my acer predator arrives.

 • Great answer. Very well said. I dont hv the money to buy one, but used my best friend for a whole three days... I felt that the build is really top premium, on samsungs/apples/sonys level. Had its differences with zenfone zoom and zenfone 3... And its lightning fast... All asus zenfone from 2 and on are built with premium quality on mind... Even if they can be felt as ugly designs (i feel they are good looking Phones, right on budget... Except the rog one). Salut

 • Hullo... Ok, Mr. Sonu, lets see. Which brand are ur earphones? You said that u tried with other earphones... Same brand as the other ones. Just essaying an answer... Every jack/minijack/usb port on modern cellphones hv two ways...i/o ports (in/out data). That means that even if ur earphones arent hands free, ur phone is receiveing data from em... A lot of brands... Almost all earphones brands are not 99% compatible... So... It might happen that ur earphone r triggering some behaviour that is very well known, but not expected. If ur earphones r asus and came with 5z, then go to an asus service to get new ones... If they r not asus, just change and try with other brands, no matter how good was that brand... If not... It might be an android based conflict with da zenui... Maybe upgrading or downgrading the ZenUI is a good shot. Finally... Maybe the cellphone had an issue... So u can go to an asus store to get a check on it. Salut.

 • I don't think you own this phone. This one has the build quality and software that is far different than previous year model. I have used for half year without issue.

 • High specs, terrible build quality both sofware and hardware. I regret trusting this brand. I dont even think this phone will last for a year.

 • Only PureAndroid based deviced are compatible wih Google AR Core.

 • Update firmware and camera and then use it again. if not satisfied, use Gcam and it's incredible HDR.

 • The main camera is really far worse than I expected. Pictures lack detail, and low-light photos are truly low quality. Low light (even medium light) video is next to unusable! Absolutely _not_ flagship material. Very very disappointed in Asus. Everything else is v. good.

 • I do have the app download/update issue that you mentioned. I just leave it as is, on downloading. It does the job after struggling for a while, an hour or so maybe. Its a software bug which might be fixed with a future update

 • I have been using this device since 3 months and I'm facing the problem in updating and downloading apps. I have done factory reset for the device also but still the problem is there. The play store shows downloading but the app won't download. Second problem is I'm not able to Cast screen with myself LG smart TV, it shows no device found, this all bullshit things happened after the recent Software update... Let me know if anyone is facing same problems.

 • It's a good phone all around, screen, camera, FM Radio & 3,5 mm jack, NFC, lightweight construction..Absolute Recomended

 • Got one of these. Hardware is ok but the ASUS android version is awful. Security updates lag behind by months. The top bar is designed for left handed people with no way of changing it. The phone can only display 2 notification icons at a time. And the volume output of the audio jack is way below my previous phone (oneplus one). Going to return the phone and get a nokia instead.

 • My biggest mistake to bought this device trusted Asus first time and got such a crappy Zenfone 5z their so called flagship set that i am facing network not coming on SIM every 2nd week and need to go to service center and they cant fixed is permanently. Really waste of money.................... not happy with Asus customer care as they cant really bother about customer satisfation.

 • just got the phone about 3 days ago. nice phone, but not compatible with google AR Core :( if they just made this phone with stock android just like max pro M1, only tweak for the camera app only, would be perfect for me.

 • Just when the problem appears what u do is exit game and I mean close it fully then disconnect the data or wifi clear all notification and reenter should work if doesn't repeat till it works..... This problem only occurs the first game

 • My 5z cant play mobile legend..pls help me..it can get into the game..but after matchmaking n choose hero..the loading into tend to stuck at certain percentage then never gonna finish loading..idk wat is wrong..other than that or any other game is great like pubg or asphalt 9..everything work smoothly..help me pls..

 • Awaiting Pie update :(

 • Advice you bring your phone to service center to get repaired.

 • Just get to the ASUS service center and get the phone repaired. You will be more regret if you buy Oneplus 6.

 • My 5z restating frequently I can't on my mobile it's restart till battery die I tried factory reset from volume power button still same problem please advise anyone

 • Turn of google now, from left of the home screen by pinching in gesture on home screen. Also turn off auto starting apps in mobile manager. Everything will be fine.

 • YES,

 • Thanks

 • I am having problems with my earphones since last few days. My device is only a month old and now whenever I plug-in the earphones the volumes are increasing and decreasing like crazy and the Google assistant is getting launched occasionally. I tried using different earphones too but no help. I just deposited my phone at one of the authorized service centers and they're saying it will take 5-7 days to get this fixed. Now I am totally regretting not buying OnePlus6.

 • To put it short -these are just to get an idea of modern cellphones and batt, from the 4º qtr of 2015 to 4º qtr of this year: -There are exceptions of course- Gamer intense use: 2 hrs. (Overheating) Intense use: 3 or 4 hrs batt. Moderate use: 6 to 8 hrs. Light/Casual use: 24 hrs. Just checking from time to time: from 24 to 48 hrs.

 • Hullo. Just give it a shoot to the new updates... maybe in 2 or 3 days the batt gets self-calibrated by the software... Repeting, but not flooding intention: Hullo... What you are experience is normal... it will overheat a little bit with fast charge (said up to 40 to 42º C in torrid climate)... Normally, android based-phones-batteries takes up to 2 or 3 days to calibrate correctly... if not... you can reset caches. Usually it works. I would not expect any more than 4 to 5 hr power-on-screen... with normal brightness... with low brightness add half an hour more. Left alone games... demanding ones, will deplete your 3.300mAh snapdragon device in two and a half hour if NOT sooner... If you are a gamer, remember... more temperature, fastest discharge... as i always said, 45ºC or above will made your battery go down from 100% to 70% in a few minutes... is normal for lithym batts. I HIGHLY recommend not to use the phone while fast charging... even i would made a deterrent statement: NEVER fast charging your phone while gaming or using 3g/4g/5g based app... of course depends the network quality of your country. -antents tends to heat up a little bit-. Double truth for Asus phones. With wi-fi the temperature will stand up a little better.

 • I never said that you said that Oneplus is a bad phone... :-D Very well said, and i wish my countrys´ market were as open as yours, but regretly it is not... i personally consider Asus, an excelent brand to go if i want a flagship killer with superb performance. And i will recommend it, with its shortcomings, from Zenfone 2 Zoom and on, without any doubt. Salute, sir...

 • It's OK :D . I will forget this mistake with 10K$ :)

 • My bad :)

 • Apart from the camera, everything about this phone is very satisfying. More speed than you need, screen is beautiful, battery is good (always gets you through the day with juice to spare) and even the software is something I like. Dual sim operation works perfect and wifi and 4G speeds are great. The camera however, is not a strong point. Coming from a Samsung S7, the 5Z camera is a step backwards when it comes to details. When zooming in on pictures, things start too look like a soft, blurry painting. The S7 and also the Nokia 7 Plus (which I traded back in for the 5z hoping on an even better camera) have much more details in pictures.

 • Post recent software update my phone battery is dragging fast. Does anyone has similar issue??

 • Hi buddy. This is a SD845 smartphone :)

 • Am perfectly satisfied with this phone :D Only improvement could have been the battery. A 3500 mah would have been perfect while 3700 mah would have made this phone a beast :) Camera: More than what i need in a mobile Performance: SD 835, so goes without saying Display: Amazing, no complaints. Though i have faced some weird issue with touch at times, but goes away with device restart. So some software glitch may be, can be ignored. Sound: Best in class ! Its not a true dual speaker, but better than its rivals any day I got this for 22,500 INR (USD 300 approx). Worth every penny :D

 • There are no perfect phone, what you are complaining doesn't speak to many budget flagship phone at the same price point. 1. Android 8.0 and 8.1 are not much different, you won't notice any different. Android 9.0 is still very new, even very expensive flagship device doesn't ship with Android 9.0. You should appreciate more it's performance with SD845 rather than worry about Android version. It is already very much optimized on Android 8.0. You just need to patiently wait ASUS to update it to Android 9.0. 2. It is a budget flagship device, so their camera are respectable to their price tag. It's camera is claimed to be better than the more expensive Oneplus 5. I know, you might want to compare to the camera quality of P20 Pro, Mate 20 Pro, Note 9. If you have the money to buy those, then why not? At last, it is typical human's always unsatisfied mindset where they want the cheaper priced stuff to perform or outperform the more expensive product, which in reality never going to happen. That is also the same reason why some people upgrades their smartphone often, even the one that they are still using still perfectly usable. (Except those brand that make their older product under perform, such as recently fined Samsung and Apple brand product, which they purposely make their old product to slowdown)

 • It is the Asian country market. At here, we can buy many Chinese and Taiwan brand with their original presence. We can choose not only Oneplus, Honor, Xiaomi, but also OPPO, Vivo, Meizu, ZTE, Lenovo, then the late OPPO Realme brand. Doogee, Homtom and Wiko also made actual presence, but simply they are just ripoff brand. The least presence brand is LG, totally missing this year. So, there are a lot to choose from at my country. I never say Oneplus is bad, but they no longer is the affordable option. ASUS this year actually take direct competition to these Chinese brand, especially Xiaomi and Honor where ASUS finally drop their price to challenge their competitor with respectable specs, and even sell cheaper than their competitor. I am one of those early hand to use their smartphone this year, and they are really priced aggressively, and their smartphone launching this year all are very good. I am not praising them just for the sake of praising. I dare to say they are now the proper alternative to Xiaomi brand, which always sell their phone at near cost price but with high spec. Their Zenfone Max Pro M1 offer almost the same spec as Redmi Note 5 Pro, and are sold at cheaper price. This Zenfone 5z 128GB version actually sold cheaper than Xiaomi Mi8 128GB and it's pricing is very close to Pocophone F1 128GB. My vote this year goes to ASUS as the new flagship killer brand.

 • Asus zenfone 5z do feel premium, and better than Poco F1, I just dont like few 5Z. 1. The phone is still on Android Oreo 8.0, no major update, (8.1 or 9.0) till now. 2. Although the camera's are good, but they are not according to flagship grade, specially front cam.

 • Sorry... i meant Mate20, not P20... :D

 • Maybe you are right, Asus phone is a beautiful. Where i live, Honor, OnePlus and Xiaomi have neither presence not interest at all... not even slightly known... But to be fair... Asus have no presence either, but its a little bit more sounded, because of motherboards, etc... I think that OnePlus is a very good phone, that fares well in an all-around, but its not the best in anything... I have some respect for the brand, seeing its daily performance. Again, to be fair, you are mostly right, like Honor and Xiaomi, with an agressive branding marketing in da web. I didnt see the new P20, which i consider promising. Probably Asus, never forgetting its shortcomings, is an underrated brand, because its started a little bit too late in the phones market.

 • That is not personal taste. It is definitely this year one of the best. It is just overshadow by Oneplus and Xiaomi strong branding, and also from Huawei and Honor brand. Oneplus 6 is definitely overhyped.

 • Very well said.

 • not normal at all, i used to playing pubg on 1hr and still get SOT 4++ with insentive use

 • With it shortcomings Zenfone 5z is a fantastic device... And i mean fantastic... topping with high end brands like Samsung/Apple/Sony/Lg/Xiaomi, etc... i prefered 5z (moreover with 8GB RAM) over the great-all-around OnePlus 6... but thats just come on personal taste.

 • Hullo... What you are experience is normal... it will overheat a little bit with fast charge (said up to 40 to 42º C in torrid climate)... Normally, android based-phones-batteries takes up to 2 or 3 days to calibrate correctly... if not... you can reset caches. Usually it works. • I think gaming consume more battery. Then you said you only remain 1 day for replacement policy, meaning your phone is still new, battery still new. New battery need sometime to get to full potential after some charge and discharge.

 • It is good on Pubg. Run just like any current high end smartphone out there with SD845 processor.

 • how about playing pubg mobile while using mobile data? it is good or not?

 • Hiii, if you playing pubg then it is normal because its a very high graphics game. One plus and samsung mobile also gave same battery backup. You can search it on google.pubg consume 20-25% battery for hour

 • Just get a replacement or go have repair.

 • brother what about the heating issue which i am facing ?

 • It is not normal things , it has 3300 mah battery , it give 8 hours on screen and 5 hours continue gaming , you contact ,your seller for this problem and replacement.

 • hi, my screen on time is 3 hrs and 30 min to 4 hrs. gaming includede of 1 hr is this normal? and my phone heats(44 degree) while charging during 20% to 80%. i got only 1 day left for replacement policy ................ guys i need your opinion .

 • i have used it for 2 month, overall great experience with this phone,,plus it is one of a view snapdragon 845 phone that equip with 3,5 mm jack & fm radio..very recomended phone

 • Today the WW world wide version get an update, version 80.30.96.221, still Android 8.0.0, Android Security Patch Level is October 5, 2018

 • I try charge the phone with USB PD 3.0 charger, which listed on web spec say it is supported. Unfortunately, this phone doesn't charge properly with USB-PD charger. The phone does show it detect fast charger, but it will disconnect the charging itself after 1 second, then restart charging again, then disconnected. The only time it goes stable is when the battery is over 80%. This is only has issue when charging with USB-PD charger, no issue on QC3.0 charger.

 • I don't say it didn't bring changes, but not drastically changes that become a must have. It is just like the hardware race, where every year, smartphone are updated with better processor, more powerful yet more power saving, and also updated with faster mobile data modem, and it is a never ending race. So, do we need to change our smartphone every quarter or every year? Then why do we need OS updates for every year? Because OS update is free? Because OS update can be done easily via OTA rather than hardware update?

 • You are 50% right . New version doesn't bring much . But it's for only custom os ,in stock os it brings a lot change . Just look at oreo and pie . Every company should change their os to stock .

 • Are you an illiterate? There is an option to turn on/off the damn ads

 • of course

 • Just want to serious comments on those people that prefer updates over high end hardware, how much serious a new updates make the phone you own become better? Seriously? I own plenty of phone before, from very low end to very high end, this Android version or OS update thing never bother me, because even if it didn't get updated, it doesn't affect anything on real life usage. I can do exactly the same thing before and after update, and I must admit not all new features introduced after the Android update are must have or can't live without it. The more I concern is the stability is on the phone call, social apps texting and sharing, web browsing with Chrome, Youtube, gaming, camera, video playback, MP3 listening, which doesn't much to do with Android version. So, I never jealous on phone which got chance to update to new Android version, it is a bonus, but not a absolute must have. I bet getting new version alone doesn't really bring much improvement to the performance and experience if the hardware itself already hits the limit.

 • go with asus z5, its good than poco f1.

 • You’re right. But then again like 1+ they run near stock android. Also all 2018 Nokia phones are on android one if I’m not mistaken. When I got my 5z they didn’t have a SD845 toting phone yet. I woulda loved to get a Nokia on the android one program. The sirocco is more expensive and had the SD835. Also it didn’t launch in my country.

 • Nokia phones also have fast updates

 • especially the camera from the a8, it was horrible. l was expecting it to be awesome as it was next to the flagship level. it was like a painting. glad l took some shots before buying the galaxy a8 LOL. Really happy with my purchase especially with the google camera app ported to it. it's a great app. some pictures that came out from the stock camera was better than the google camera but most of the time the google camera app was killing it hahaha...

 • why is there no camera comparison for zenfone 5? i was able to compare the pictures that cam out of note 9 and zenfone 5 in a store inside a mall, taking a picture of my son, and in all honesty, l prefer the picture l got from the zenfone 5. The attendant was insisting l check the note 9's video capabilities and l just said that l was only interested with the quality of the picture straight from the phone LOL

 • Not all flagships are built the same. There's a reason a S9 with SD845 and a 5z with SD845 are so vastly different in pricing. The obvious being build quality, materials, sensors etc. But also some money is diverted to software support. At 400 dollars the 5z doesn't have enough money to allocate to a speedy software update program. Only iOS & pixels can give you a speedy update program. But those two start at twice the price, 800 - 900 dollars. In the 500 dollar range only Oneplus can give you that, as they have a near stock UI. Asus and Oneplus are on complete different pricing strategies as their companies have different goals with their products. When i got my 5z, i didn't have any expectation for a quick update of software. So i'm taking it as it comes, enjoying my 5z. Hang in there, it'll update soon.

 • Where u from

 • I have August security patch

 • All of them are better on ZenFone 5z :) . eh... the Pie, this is normal for PureAndroid!

 • originally planned to buy poco f1...rather i ended up with 5z... Reasons that pushed me to get 5z over f1(and these come after thorough research): 1. Display(would suggest to watch side by side comparison at you tube to understand the compromise done on f1 display). Coming to 5z display, see it to believe it('LCD is no less' is what the conclusion) (also, there was a risk of screen bleed nightmare) 2. Build quality(Metal wrapped with glass - that's enough said)..Corning Gorilla 3 is fine when you gonna pay sub-400$. Despite polycarbonate back nothing much to complain about F1 either(my insane LG G2 was plastic too) except for a comparatively fragile front. 3. Camera - Crucial. F1's rear camera despite capturing seemingly good looking shots fail to please when you really notice the softness of photos & 2x zoom(double-tap) that'll leave you staring at images without detail....Low-light photos of F1 were pathetic..(too much a compromise)...On the other hand, 5z hits home run in both the above cases. However, F1 wins hands-down on Front cam - F1 front was delightful while 5z's was fair, if not worse. 4. Speaker - Audio: Neck-on-neck. It's a tie 5. Battery life - Of course, F1 a clear winner with 4000(2 days) while 5z wasn't worse with 3300(1 to 1.5 days) for casual usage. Personal preference takes the front seat - despite battery life being a crucial decider, my preferences got shaped out of first 3 points above. I'm Ok with 1 to 1.5 days than towards 2 to 2.5 days(with unbearable compromises(for me)) To sum up, I'd a crush(blind) with one but ended up tying knot with the most apt one...Thanks to my mind process..

 • Do you mean 5Z is much better with 7+ in terms of built, battery life, camera, thermal control, speed charging and timely updates? FYI, 7+ is better now with Pie.

 • Wut do u mean ads in file manager ? I never use mi and i heard this issue back then in youtube

 • Im from philipines . Which is better pocofone ot z5z. I want to buy please respect

 • just avoid buying pocophone i have very bad experience with it and i already sold it heres list of problems i had : - screen bleeding - inaccurate and unresponsive touchscreen, especially on the edges - lots of bugs, i once had problem that headphone input sound are bugged while playing games miui suck - ads everywhere, even in file manager. again miui suck

 • I'm from india too and I'm using Nokia 7 plus and i got android pie update 2 weeks back and on september monthly update & will get oct too in no time. Asus phones are slow on update so I bought the beautifully looking 7 plus.

 • 5z vs poco f1?honest,unbiased opinions only

 • silver. im using it right now

 • I am Imran from India I am using it and it is still June security patch a flagship phone should provide regular security update please update it

 • Yeah. Asus have had this from android 4.2

 • Nokia 7+ isn't comparable to ZenFone 5z!

 • Does it support call recording? Any one please reply

 • Does anyone using it can tell their experience with Jio Sim? I have read some old comments where the battery life and signal is poor with 4G, I am about to buy the device but need confirmation on it. Also, I have read that the Wifi signal drops too much with distance, is that true?

 • Can someone tell me the avg. screen on time of this device...? Looking for true response!!! Right now I have Nokia 7 + and would this 5z can satisfy in terms of camera and battery?

 • Midnight blue or meteor silver?? Which one do u prefer?? Better looking??

 • Gorilla glass 3

 • Which version of Corning Gorilla Glass does the Asus Zenfone 5z ZS620KL have?

 • Then good for you. I'm jealous now.

 • Then best you go for the note8. It’s a way better package. The extras you get on the note8 are worth sacrificing the extra ram, storage and chip. In my country the note 8 is $250 more than the 5z(8gb ram + 256gb storage) model. I got the 5z with 6gb + 64gb config for roughly $400, which made the difference in price with note 8 even bigger. Bottom line, if you gots $550 then get the note 8 over the 5z.

 • Glad you liked it dear. Yeah i agree with you Super AMOLEDs are way better in temrs of color accuracy, sharpness, clarity and blacks. enjoy your new phone and tell samsung users about your XP. :)

 • Asphalt 9 now available 4 zenfone 5z in playstore

 • personally z5z is my 1st choice until the price of note 8 drastically down..hmmm i already tried the both phones..i think z5z camera just decent and done a fair job for the price..the selfie and lowlights performance for both front and back camera were not that good, to many noise and lack of detail..display if compare to other lcd phone, then z5z have the best display and if u put side by side with xiaomi mi8 and 1+6 super amoled, 5z may win...I'm totally agree z5z with 845sd falwless..i like 5z due to wide angle lens compare to telephoto, stereo speakers and beautiful design..but I'm also would love to have slightly better camera, ip68 rating and super amoled screen that HDR10 support..no doubt asus will frequently update even zenfone 3 already git oreo updates..tq for ur kindly advice

 • personally ram and storage not that importance for me, since both phones support sd card..btw I'm frm Malaysia..in Malaysia official set that asus brought in are 6/128gb price around 450usd, 8/256gb around 550usd and the latest price for official new note 8 exynos 555usd (all prices estimated after conversion frm Malaysian money to usd)..my friends also told me to buy the note 8..even though it's last year model and the performance not that sluggish it's still pretty fast..plus the note 8 camera slightly better, super amoled, and ip68rating hmmmm

 • I'm leave in Malaysia..asus Malaysia officially brought the 6/128gb and 8/256gb versions that compatible with all careers and telcos..no reports or bad feedbacks..i shouldn't be worry 😅

 • yup that's my point..it's hard for me to choose..note 8 have ip68 rating, super amoled, better camera (mostly said) and Spen..zen5z more ram, more storage, latest chipset and can shoot 4k60fps..price matter is only the same..sigh

 • Yeah a little. but it's not visible.

 • Since you’ve mentioned ram and storage being more for the price and if that is of importance then yea go for the 5z. If you’re looking to compare both models as a complete package, its a bit more tough. I’m using the 5z and I’m plenty happy. In my country the note 8 and the 5z are nowhere close to the same price. If they were i might actually lean to the note 8 even for lesser ram and storage. The samsung camera is slightly better than the 5z and I’m sure it’ll only get better with the pie update. Also the UI on the Samsung feels more cohesive, ZenUI is almost there. But i do feel ZenUI is not to heavy. To conclude, for the same price I’d recommend you get the note 8 even for the lesser ram and storage. Last years chip in there is plenty fast too.

 • Does the silver turn pinkish in the sun?

 • I don't have prior experience with Zenfone 2 but from what I can find online about Zenfone 5z, different models were made for different regions and they have different LTE bands. If you bought a 256GB ZS620KL model, it is pretty much guaranteed that you won't have 4G LTE connection in the States (under AT&T). It's confusing because even though all models (apart from those in the Indian market) were marked as ZS620KL, they have different band support.

 • I might be wrong on this but my previous experience with the Zenfone 2 was that they are made as "universal" as they can because they have many LTE bands. On that front, I believe it shouldn't matter where the phone was purchased. However, there might be software installed by other telcos in the phone which was for the LTE band but may not work as well elsewhere.

 • Camera, display, SoC, Storage chip and etc. are better on 5z. be sure that the ZenFone 5z will never disappoint you. in first month on release, it got 3 improvement updates.

 • The thing about Zenfone 5z is that the one you want is probably different from the one you can get (officially), because they release different versions for different regions. For example, in the United States the only version available is 6GB+64GB. You could technically get other versions (like 8GB+256GB) on various online websites but they won't work as smoothly in the States (There will be times you can't use 4G LTE under AT&T because that model was not designed to be used in NA). Just make sure you factor that in when you are buying a Zenfone 5z.

 • I can't see how you can make a fair comparison. Both phones are for a different group of audience. Those who buy Note 8 want the features that 5z will not have. 5z has more storage and more RAM. But this does not mean it's necessarily better than Note 8. You're not comparing apples with apples.

 • Zenfone 5z or Samsung note 8??? Since the price of z5z 8gb ram 256gb storage same as note 8 6/64 gb..which one better?? Overall package worth?? Not only for the soc..of coz z5z will win..tq

 • you can actually change the mode to 4G only by dialing *#*#4636#*#*. Note that it will only work on Sim 1.

 • I agree with your point, I just want to point out that it really depend. I have switch 4 telco by this year, from the very cheap one to the moderate one. The cheapest has the lowest coverage, which always makes the phone struggle, and drain battery. The other one is better, but stuck with that kind of problem, where I can see the line is ok, but in actual cannot use at all, or totally slow, that one also drain battery a lot. The current one I use has the best coverage, then has less drainage issue. The fourth one is I go to oversea, try their sim, they only get connect to either 4G or 4G+, only very few case drop to 3G, so the battery life is good also. These only can be experienced if always stay with mobile network.

 • Agreed. In 4G only mode, if the signal drops then it won’t connect to anything. Not a good idea to do this.

 • Oh yes, I agree this might not be an Asus only problem. But the reason I said the 5z is more agresive is cuz I used a Mi A1 with the same two sims in 4G mode and I got around 4h SOT. So in comparison I found the 5z more agressive. Again there maybe other reasons why the A1 gave me better usage, I’m not an expert. Just presenting something I noticed. Honestly I’m very happy wit my 5z, it’s an absolute steal for the price they selling it at in my country.

 • Please don't try with this mode. If the voice call is not VOLTE, then probably you won't receive any call. This "LTE only" mode only assume whole time you only connect to LTE, but when there is no LTE, it won't connect to anything. For the one who get switch between 4G and 3G signal, blame your telco, and also blame you, where you are at the area with poor 4G reception. I have tested this with many telco sim card, and also with many phone too, it is the issue of the telco.

 • You probably didn't know that you can change that into "LTE only" so that it will not switch to 3G. Poor.

 • What was the changelog

 • Agreed...

 • This ohone change from 4g to 3g very frequently like what the f is going on? Full bars in 4g then suddenly change to 3g? Common stupid asus. I buy this phone to play mobile legends which i cant because of very frequent change in network so stupid. I beetter bought s9 from their i can control rf band signals by typing*#2263# in this phone i cant do that

 • If you are in the US, the only version you are able to purchase through the "official" way (and possibly the only version that will be fully functional in the US) is 6GB+64GB. The top tier 8GB+256GB version, which is the one I'm planning to get, can work in the US. But as far as I know, it won't work in 4G LTE in the US, so the max you can get is 3.5G on GSM carriers like AT&T. Nothing too crazy, just want people to know this before getting your hands on one from AliExpress.

 • Yes, I also updated to this version. Same Android 8.0.0 version, Android security patch updated to 5 August 2018.

 • Received firmaare update from 96.80 to 96.111

 • Are u blind bro? Read carefully

 • The information is not accurate in "Main camera" field. Main camera can record unlimited 4k@60 fps. Plse update

 • cca. 6 hours

 • wow, really impressive. how much average u get? i mean SOT for every day.

 • simply ur phone forced to work more harder and ofc it need more energy (battery)

 • Anybody know why i cant exit my 5z's calling screen during a incoming phone call? Is it somekind of a safety feature? Tried looking from the settings, but couldn't find anything in the matter.

 • This one happen on all smartphone, not just this ASUS Zenfone 5Z. I got used before with different brand such as Samsung, Xiaomi, Huawei, all have this battery drain if stay at bad reception area. You might blame this is smartphone issue, I would say this is overall a cellphone technology issue, where it force the phone using more energy to connect with the cell tower, be it 4G or 3G, it will drain battery on low reception area. You will find similar issue solved if stayed with good WiFi connection. Yes, if your area 4G is weak, and 3G is strong, probably stay with 3G will has better battery life, because has good 3G reception.

 • Well I’m not really an expert in this subject. But from what I noticed the battery life / SOT increased by a huge margin the moment I started to leave the phone on 3g mode. Perhaps if your area has good coverage for 4G, then my issue should not present itself to you.

 • This is the overall great package if really don't want the overly cut corner Pocophone F1, don't want the non-expandable memory and no 3.5mm jack Xiaomi Mi8, and don't want the over hyped Oneplus 6 that is without Micro SD slot, and sold more expensive just because it has near stock Android experience, which should be cheaper. In my country, the 128GB version of Zenfone 5z is sold much cheaper than an Oneplus 6 128GB. Overall, the phone meet all the expectation at very low price. No overheat, no battery drain. Even FM radio is present. The only problem I faced after using 2 months usage is sometime the ZenMotion gesture, double tap to wake doesn't work. Others are non issues, phone stay high performance all the time. It really one of the best silence performer of the year, ASUS dare to cut the price down to compete with China brand (ASUS is from Taiwan). For me, it only lack of water resistant and wireless charging, which really not important to me. More premium feature lacking is an AMOLED screen. Other than that, it is just as good as those expensive smartphone out there that cost almost twice. As always, skeptical buyer and hater will pinpoint it's weakness comparing to much higher priced alternative brand.

 • Is it bad if it looking for 4g LTE agressively?

 • However I can pretty much fill up the battery test results exactly according to GSMarena's script. (It became a standard where I work too ,to determimd APC (Avarage power consumption) of the phone and code apps accordingly. AHEM~ According to my tests I managed to squeeze out 84h of endurance, about 19:50h of talk time in 3G, 10:21h of browsing, about 11:09h of Video playback, and a decent 7 hours of gaming.on a SINGLE CHARGE. Charging rates in 30 minutes pumped in a quite generous 43%, however that's not a lot.

 • need a honestly answer bout battery ability? how good it is?

 • where from got you this?! all ! the series 5 Zenfones have NFC built in. (ZF 5 and even the cheaper 5Q/Lite offer that)

 • It's got nfc.

 • This is overall a very good phone. And at this price point, the few shortcomings don't matter. Been using this phone for two months now and ive noted the following things:- 1) The UI is pretty snappy and the SD845 surely helps here. UI is clean foe the most part and quite fast. Update has added gesture support, so you get a proper full screen experience. 2) The camera is great. Amazing in low light too. Also the second wide angle lens on the rear can take some lovely landscape shots. This is one of the main reasons i chose this over the 1+6 as the second lens on the 1+6's rear is just a dept sensor ( not even telephoto as they had previously). I mean... its a waste of a lens, IMO. 3) Charging is super quick with the charger provided in the box. I think its Qualcomm QC 3.0 with 18w charger. The max temp recorded while charging hit 42 deg C on my unit. 4) The screen visibility outdoors is quite good and having an edge to edge display is something else. Very slight chin on this phone... but you hardly notice after a few days, same for the notch. 5) The phone uses the earpiece to give a stereo effect. While not amazing, there definitely is good volume due to this. It also has an outdoor mode where the sound increases but there is loss in dept. 6) They provide a headset and a clear tpu case in the box, which is a always welcome. 7) The base variant of this is like 5k cheaper than the 1+6 when i purchased this phone. That bit sold me on this over the 1+6. Some things i didn't like:- 1) The display brightness even at the lowest is quite bright, strains your eyes at night. Blue light filter doesn't help much. 2) The phone hunts for 4G network very aggressively. For the first two weeks i was get crappy battery life, avg of 3h50m SOT. I tried everything to improve this nothing helped. My last solution was to keep the phone in 2G/3G auto mode. Guess what, with my same usage while on 4G, the SOT increased to 5h40m. That's almost 2 hours!!!!! The best recorded is 6h43m, but this happened only once. So now it just stays in 2G/3G auto. Also i use dual sims both being by the same service provider. 3) This i knew before getting the phone, you cannot use this phone without a case unless you plan to wipe of the fingerprints every 15 mins. But without a case it does look magnificent. I am happy with this purchase, I would recommend anyone with the INR 30K budget to get this. You will not be sorry.

 • Beautiful packaging like others flagships from other expensive brands Rapid configuration and ASUS platform quite easy to use rapid start when configurated quite strong, and robust (a friend had one and throw it by the window of his car and the screen didn't broken although it had a glass screen cover and the case furnished by ASUS ) Nice pictures even with a little tremor :-) I recommend widely this product

 • no nfc? such a shame

 • Bought from Amazon(6GB/64GB-International+128GB samsung U3 SD) all for 550USD waiting for it to arrive :)

 • I am not able to install Asphalt Legend as its not listing in my play store app and i am not even able play PES 2018 with Bluetooth joystick because its saying google play services is not supported by your handset. (Asus Zenfone 5z 6/64 GB Indian Variant).

 • Well, honestly, my comments got influenced by gsmarena review, I have realized later that 5Z actually feels better than the others at similar prices. However, the battery still does not seem to be promising, and this is the main reason why I still don't own 5Z.

 • Dejected? It is the budget priced flagship, what you can ask more? Even OP6 has many cons too, then why nitpick? The Samsung Note 9,S9+, even Apple iPhone XS has lots of cons too, they are better, but please look at their price again. For this type of comment, it simply shows that many users are narrow minded, where they want everything at lower price, at best exact clone, but will just accept anything on higher price product that also has cons. Of course if you have the budget, then go ahead and buy the much more expensive alternative, and stop pinpoint those cons that not even cons at this price. PS:Poco F1 are intended for another market segment, at least now you get near flagship performance at fraction of price, rather than offering below par performance at budget price. (Please look at Samsung/LG/HTC/Motorola/Sony/OPPO/Vivo midrange phone, they never come close to this Poco F1)

 • It is not an issue of Zenfone itself, but rather is Asphalt 9 issue. It is still in soft launch phase. I think once Gameloft fix all the issue will be ok. Yes, for you right now, it become Zenfone 5z issue because it doesn't run. I have installed the apk and it wouldn't run.

 • I think if the price us comparable low if compared to ASUS Zenfone 5z, OP6 and Mi8, then go for LG G7 is a no brainer. Forget the bootloop issue that plague older model, at least you get one year full warranty.

 • I'm using this port at XDA. As usual, it doesn't work natively, so expected the slowness. The HDR+ post processing need huge processing time.

 • Try and do a hard reset first. If it still can't work, then bring the phone in for an exchange or something. There's no way Google Play services cannot work. It's like saying you bought a car with an engine that can't start.

 • how id dts x in 5z.which is better lg g7 or asus z5 for music video.any one having 5z pls clarify how is the sound output through headphones.thank u

 • Please help I can't update or install app from play store

 • Are u joking google play services not support , get it to the centre obv ur device have prob

 • It's true I am also facing problem can't update apps or install

 • That's not true. it supports all. they are mi fans spreading wrong information against other phones.

 • Not in Lowlight.

 • Are you joking? :|

 • thank god! it does have fm radio! what a shame one plus.

 • i dont think so

 • That seems unlikely, can anybody else confirm that?

 • google play services is not supported by ASUS Zenfone 5z.

 • ok then....i'll go with op6

 • Bootloop is there in G6 (reported in xda-developers and many other forums). Interestingly, you don't know when it's exactly going to happen, which is crazy. For example, it didn't happen to me right after the OS upgrade, happened after a while (days spent). However, this looks like a common problem in LG phones. My brother-in-law's G4 was offered an exchange in US (along with a gift card), but that is US where customer is the king. Bootloop is also reported in some low-end Samsung phones and the others, but rare in a flagship except LG's.

 • sad to hear that brother...but i never heard bootloop issues on g6...it has been fixed and no issues on v30 and g7 yet i considerd lg because its tier 1 brand but still i'm very much confused between op6 and g7

 • In Mi 8, no stereo speaker (it looks like) or no card slot. 5Z has a hybrid dual-SIM non-dedicated microSD slot. On the other hand, Mi 8 has AMOLED screen if you prefer. I'm not sure about HD stream support of Mi 8, but 5Z supports it for sure.

 • I won't. You haven't got the full story yet, lemme tell you: # I bought LG G4 as a pre-order (costed me INR 47K) as I liked its features like excellent camera, great display, decent battery life, removable battery, excellent curved design, no buttons other than the ones in the back, dedicated microSD slot, video output via VGA/HDMI dual adapter, OTG, IR remote, a promise of OS upgrade at least up to 2 gens and so on. # When I updated it from Lollipop to Marshmallow, bootloop started after days killing all of my data in the internal memory as I had to get the motherboard replaced that the memory was soldered to. LG knew it, but didn't warn the customers. If I was told right after the OS update, I could save my precious data. Bootloop is even reported with G5 and G6. # Last year my microSD started showing data corruption after a phone restart (I'm sure thanks goes to LG OS bugs). The microSD died after (fortunately) after the data backup. # The display now shows signs of LCD burn. # The battery life has been ridiculously bad since the start. With two batteries alternately, I cannot make either of them last long enough (1% or more battery drain per minute under 4G). # The IR remote works only with few models, almost with none if the brand is not LG. # The OTG used to let me read the contents in a flash drive (dual flash drive, one end microUSB and the other end USB so that you can copy the data from computer and view in your phone). After one update, this functionality is gone. # LG let the customers know later that there won't be any upgrade after Marshmallow. Overall, a horror story. Shame to a trusted brand like LG (I have LG 3DTV, fridge, washing machine; I have owned LG Vu phone before). The only consolation is its camera which is still fantastic. Oh well, I also like that it feels great in my hand despite being a 5.5" phone. Now, it's up to you whether you still want an LG phone.

 • camera is better on mi8

 • Which one is better Xiaomi Mi 8 or Asus ZenFone 5z?

 • Damm...i was just going to buy lg g7 as it is much cheaper in india....so would u recommend or not

 • IMHO, every company should guarantee two gen upgrades when they are "selling" a flagship. Unfortunately, this is not happening in the Android world. I understand that almost everybody is using a skin, and that is not something easy to implement, but the delay is disappointing and inexcusable. My G4 got only one upgrade (L to M), which is terrible given it's a flagship. Won't buy LG ever as their software policy and implementation just suck.

 • pie is confirmed....but i guarantee that it will get android Q

 • try downloading apk from other sources....even my moto g5s plus is running asphalt 9

 • No buddy, its not resolved yet. Any Help?

 • That's hard to say. In fact, this is true for all Android phones because of the Android fragmentation. But Asus is nowadays trying harder. Since they consider 5z to be their flagship, it's likely that you will get upgrades up to Android Q.

 • Zenfone 5z is better (if you have Dolby Headphone X compatible headphones). it has, support: Dual speakers Dual Smart AMP Hi-Res Audio DTS Headphone:X

 • When this phone is going to get upgrade to android 9?

 • If you would know what Dolby Atmos meant, you won't ask this. You cannot get a surround audio through a mono or stereo set up. 5z has a stereo set up like many other smartphones, most smartphones just have mono set up, neither of which can do Dolby Atmos. All you get is a downscaled audio.

 • bro,how is the sound quality through headphones.is dts x better than dolby atmos.which is best in audio through earphones samsung a6 plus or asus 5z.pls anyone help me.

 • Yes, really, in the picture 004.jpeg is quite clearly to see a damage of the camera corner. That's why the camera suffers malfunction. And that's why the review is abit false.

 • i thought this issue has been fixed

 • The reviewed phone has got a damage (? dropped earlier) exactly on camera-corner ... (you can see that on more pictures about the phone).

 • OMG i cant play Asphalt 9 on my zenfone 5z, its not listing in play store.. Is any buddy else facing same issue in INDIA?

 • In my opinion this is the best value for money smartphone with sd845 in 2018. A all rounder flagship grade. phone. The review doesn't tell the storie.

 • Anyone here who also experience a non working "smart screen on" feature of zenfone 5z? Recently after the update the screen will turn off according to sleep timer you set even if you are still looking directly at the screen of your phone. According to the description of smart screen on, it will extend the screen on time while looking at the screen. But it doesn't work. Help please. :-(

 • strongly agree! I've never thought of buying Asus these days, great device!

 • My wife have 5z, she shift from huawei mate 8 with 4000mah, 5z live much longer she says and she is gaming every day, so she know (y).

 • 1.Zenfone 5z indeed supports Widevine CMD Security Level L1, contrary to GsmArena review. 2.Stereo speakers are awesome and main USP of it. Don't go by the GsmArena review, hear for yourself, test watching some video- you'll love it! 3.I had a HTC One A9 before this. Camera quality is pretty good, and not anywhere bad as the review suggests. Use the wide angle cam, you'll see a different perspective.. 4.Phone charging time: testes multiple times, it takes 70-80 mins ONLY to charge from 5-10% to full charge. The 2 hrs GsmArena reports in review is absurd. Maybe they used another charger that was lying around! I get 7hrs of SOT easily, too. 5.Display: Keep the brightness at 25%, go out and view in sunlight, the screen is superbly viewable. Auto brightness bumps up and the experience is same as my previous HTC one A9, which, by the way was excellent.

 • What is the battery life of Asus Zenfone 5Z?? I want to buy a new phone. Confused between Asus Zenfone 5Z, Poco F1 and LG G7+.. Battery, audio and camera are priority.

 • Changed to Asus Zenfone 5Z 256GB/8GB from Moto G5S plus. I liked very much the Motorola, but this Zenfone 5Z is superb. The camera is better and sharper even in daylight, but especially evening photos with 5Z are incredible. I think that in this GSMarena review there must be somekind of technical trouble. Maybe moisture or something in the camera. Got two upgrades a couple of days ago and after that I should say that we have a real flagship. Absolutely the best handy that I have owned.

 • Overall Asus Zenfone 5Z is better

 • where can i download the gcam?

 • Looks like a inaccurate review .It has DRM L1 support.

 • 5z does support widevine DRM with L1 security level that means can stream netflix HD

 • no need to do factory reset..u hav to go to safe mode by long pressing on power off option then resatrt ur device.

 • go to safe mode by long pressing on power off option then restart phone..it will solved

 • I'm dejected to see the cons. Is it a flagship killer? Stereo speakers sound imbalanced: Then no point in having this. I won't expect something like Bose quality, but Asus, are you serious? No ingress protection: At this price, I can't even expect IP65, which is OK. One needs a good case anyway. Underwhelming camera quality: Very disappointing. This alone will make me stay away from 5z. Poco has a problem as well, no OIS there. Too much bloatware: I thought Asus corrected it this time (Samsung uses much less bloatware nowadays), but alas! And then, battery. And then, no HD streaming. So, no 5z, no Poco for me. If I have to save money, I will go for OnePlus 6 I guess.

 • Where is the IP68?! Is this a flagship?

 • Yes but only for games

 • May be best budget phone, but not necesserily has low midrange display quality, that you can buy in Zenfone Max Pro M1 for much less . . . has entry level radio support (only few bands) and so on. POCO has not much to do with a flagship, only has that fooling sd845

 • plastic body? big notch?

 • Maybe u remove it in navigation bar setting

 • xiaomi pocophone f1 best budget phone as of now

 • I have same problem I reset phone solve the problem but after fer day problem still go on if any solution pls tell me

 • I have Asus 5z I face problem is that recent app not appear any solution ?

 • Asus zenfone 5z

 • it had from the start!

 • Hi, Asus zenfone 5z compare to xiaomi poco f1 which 1 is better?

 • Did a quick check, don't really see improvements...1080 60fps video is still crappy. 4k 60fps is quite good...but still nervous focus hunting. If you lock your focus it is more relaxed.

 • Hi,does it start supporting dual VoLTE

 • Everything is improved.

 • Hi the world! Which one is best buy, Asus Zenfone 5Z or Xiaomi Mi 8 (not SE, not explorer) ? Thanks a lot.

 • the latest ZenUI has a screen recording tool built-in, right? can it record internal sound of the app?

 • Its only show 4G LTE. Who can tell me what band for 4G. Sorr if my english broken

 • Thank u for ur reply. How is the camera after the latest update. Is there any improvement in the focus problem.

 • Sure, ZenFone 5z (6GB/64GB)

 • Hi, I am looking for a good mobile in 25 to 30k range. Camera, screen and battery is priority. Honor view 10 vs zenfone 5z - which is better?

 • Of course Zenfone 5z with SD845 win on cam and gaming, definitely are beast over Honor 8 Pro and v9, particular the 2K screen on Honor 8 Pro further reduce gaming rendering performance too. If you want the price of Honor 8 Pro with quality in gaming, suggest Honor Play or Xiaomi Pocophone F1. Camera, I would say all are not very good at this price, unless you want an almost decent Huawei P10 Plus, but still on Kirin 960, and still expensive. Depend on what you are after, mostly camera performance lose is on low light performance, which can be the apps issue rather than the camera issue.

 • I think he means the screen shape, not the phone shape. New smartphone comes with rounded corner screen, which reduce viewability, this I definitely agree. However, when viewing video, the 16:9 video still can be viewed fully. Application wise, this might not an issue too, just that we can't view all at the corner of the screen, just like the useless notch as well. I have seen Samsung Galaxy S8/Note 8 have worse screen usability and viewability too, especially the curve edge screen.

 • The Volume rocker doesn't work sometimes. And also I am facing Hanging Issues

 • It's Gorilla Glass 3

 • Hi, Zenfone 5z or Honor 8 Pro/V9? (my preference Cam and gaming)

 • How is the shape of the phone affects functionality and quality?

 • What do you means not adjust to it's position? Do you means fitting the whole screen?

 • There is no problem on day light picture, only the low light picture suffer the noise and blur. Google Camera apps definite solve these issue. I can show some sample shot from both camera apps using Zenfone 5z, you will know what I mean.

 • Have you faced the problem of auto rotate on asus zenfone 5z.. being the auto rotate function on the phone wont adjust to its position.. it happens while using youtube and many other video streaming apps! Please give me a solution

 • Just update phone and camera will take pictures better

 • 768GB!

 • As usual with the budget flagship phone, there is always give and take, but this one are getting almost everything, just minus the stock camera apps quality, which is not flagship worthy compared to Samsung, Sony, LG, Huawei and HTC, which always have reputation to have best camera in the market. The problem is it's stock camera apps issue. Image quality significantly improved by using a proper Google Camera apps. (The GCam for S9+ can be installed on this phone) The phone performance wise, it is phenomenal, given the SD845 SoC, everything just fast. It's ZenUI has been streamlined, not much bloat apps, everything just as functional. 128GB Kingston Micro SD card works without any issue. 3.5mm jack is there, it's supplied earphone is very good. It also has very good loud stereo speaker, great LCD screen despite not AMOLED, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, OTG, battery can last for 1 full day. Glass build quality is very good, but extra back and screen cover are always recommended protection. VOLTE definitely no issue, 4G+ are supported. Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 definitely is sufficient. The minor issue would be no IP rating, no support for type C to HDMI, no wireless charging, I know I am asking too much at this price, even the much more expensive Oneplus 6 doesn't even has these feature either. For the given price, this is the most bang for bucks Android smartphone, definitely beat Oneplus 6 sold in my country (I don't know why the 128GB Oneplus 6 sold so much more expensive than this phone), and also beat Xiaomi Mi8, despite Mi8 sold a bit cheaper with 64GB, this ASUS priced close to 64GB Mi8 price with 128GB version. This is definitely the true flagship killer of the year. As always, not every smartphone are people's cup of tea. Oneplus, Samsung, LG, HTC, Sony, Huawei, Google, OPPO, Vivo user will defend their choice. But this one definitely is the flagship worth buying, where finally at this launching price, Micro SD slot, good stereo speaker, OIS camera and FM radio are present.

 • I won't laugh at what he said. This is where the personal preference come in, and also the most important, manufacturer pushed spec and publicity. Remember the 1st iPhone, everybody is condemning the non-removable battery, and non-Micro SD slot, and also the small 3.5", that slowly increased to what the size of minimum phone screen of today, and look at what of today manufacturer trend? I would admit not everything manufacturer introduced are beneficial for consumer, but we only can just follow the trend, despite it is not useful. Sad truth right? We are not manufacturer.

 • Did factory reset twice bro, but the problem still persists. :(

 • Hi bro. 1. w8 for more updates. 2. Wipe partition Cache. 3. reset factory.

 • I'm gonna laugh about what did you say :))

 • Facing an issue with recent apps which shows empty display always. any solution?

 • I've got the same problem after the update. I factory reset once which fixed the issue. The phone updated by itself and the issue is back. I'm also curious how to fix it.

 • I think Xiaomi mix is better because it is rectangle. All new phones are more round which is lower functionality and quality.

 • Because this Zenfone 5z doesn't enabling the Camera2Api, thus Gcam port won't work, it just use the default camera settings to capture image, which doesn't improve anything at all. With this Gcam port, you can test capture the same scene using stock camera and Gcam apps, you will noticed the image detail is much better.

 • Can u give the link , i use gcam b4 but it was inferior to the stock 1

 • Can you share link of that gcam.thank you !!!

 • Finally found a working Google Camera port that works without issue. It is the S9+ Gcam, which can works without the needs to root and unlock bootloader. Can search this version and download the apk to install. Previously I tried, only the Arnova V6 works, where really is HDR+ process going on, but got white balance issue, resulting in wrong white balance color. The Google Cam apps improve the low light camera peeformance and normal camera significantly. Still, I believe the camera hardware for Zenfone 5z is very capable, but need proper camera apps for improving it's quality. I know it is tedious, maybe in near future ASUS really can improve the stock camera apps for better image quality.

 • I have been using this for 2 weeks now. Cpu: very fast. I run dolphin on a stable 30fps which previous flagship cant even do. Screen: this is an lcd display but the wide color gamut makes the screen color on par with amoled display minus the black of course. Speakers: pretty loud. You wont find any complains with the loud speakers. Headphone loudness volume is a little below average though. Call quality: never had a drop call and very clear. Bloatware: I wouldnt really say it as a bloatware because its pretty useful on my part (app mirror, webpage reader, AI, battery app). The only thing I consider bloatware is the zenemoji. Charger: fast charging. 0-100 in less than 90 minutes. Battery life: last me for a day with average 5-6 hours screen time. Camera: main camera takes ok photos but subpar compare to other flagships. Wide angle is abysmal, grainy as hell. Dont buy 5z if camera is your priority.

 • Yes, really, the stock camera apps sucks, but the Google Camera solve everything, resolve every lost detail especially in low light photography. The camera itself is very capable, just the camera apps algorithm is not ok. I am currently using with the Google Camera Arnova port, despite it just support legacy level, it's result image is just much better, almost as good as those high end smarthphone photo.

 • But that Super IPS Plus LCD has same quality and colors as OLED on OP6 and that 2.5D corning gorilla glass has same durability and strength as 5 version in OP6. @z

 • Corning Gorilla Glass (unspecified version) & IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen makes the price lesser than Oneplus 6..

 • Whasup... No review for this cheap and really good flagshipp gsmarena???

 • Actually in 4G VOLTE enabled phones you can directly do a JIO Videocall without any software like whatsapp etc. you just dial the other JIO phone number and there should be an option - like your SIM1 or SIM2, similary, there should be VOICE CALL or VIDEO CALL. i have previously used ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO M1, that had this feature. I am lacking that option here.

 • gsmarena!!! please rewiew!!!!

 • gsmarena..when can we expect 5z review?

 • I don't know how to help you, but is this video call apps specific? (meaning Whatapps video call, both phone must install Whatapps, if using Google Duo, both phone must install Google Duo) If using Jio sim, should you use Jio chat as video call app?

 • Hi All, I have purchased this phone yesterday. But I am unable to do Default Video Calling with Jio-India. Also, I did not see any settings to en/disable video calling. Please help me.

 • ya thats what has been listed in the corning gorilla website.

 • Hi friend. Corning Gorilla Glass 3 has high strength. but... yes it has lower durability than 5 version.

 • Only 3? Bruh

 • No.

 • It has gorilla glass 3 both front n back

 • Zenfone 5z lets u record 4k 60fps no time limit 4k time lapse Pixelmaster is more versatile

 • Zenfone 5 without a doubt !

 • honor play cant run dolphin though. zenfone 5z does.

 • What about durability of glass back mobiles? I wanted to buy a Zenfone 5Z but I'm a bit worried about its glass back panel? One more thing, is its replacement costs like the one in iphone x? Like almost half the price is glass back. Is ot so?

 • Thank you ....

 • Z01RD is the model code name for ASUS Zenfone 5z ZS620KL, which is exactly the same phone. So, no different, both are the same phone model.

 • I receive the model Asus Z01RD. Is there any difference between this model and 5Z ZS620KL?...

 • In my country, Huawei Honor Play currently is the king of flagship killer, with Kirin 970 selling at just USD300, 6/64GB, with Micro SD slot. Second I would give to ASUS Zenfone 5z, the cheapest SD845 smartphone with 6GB/128GB and Micro SD slot, around USD400, no other smartphone come close to this phone on value. The third I would say either plenty of Huawei and Honor phones, such as Huawei Honor View 10 6GB/128GB, Honor 10 6GB/128Gb, Huawei Nova 3 6GB/128GB, Huawei Mate 10 4GB/64GB, Huawei P20 4GB/128GB, or the imported Xiaomi Mi8 and Mi Mix 2/2S. Around the price of USD400 to USD450. There are also grey import price of base variant of Oneplus 5T 6GB/64GB and Oneplus 6 6GB/64GB variant (official Oneplus 5T and Oneplus 6 are more expensive than these), there are also the less popular HTC U11 6GB/128GB, maybe also Nokia 8. Score being give for phone that has Micro SD slot, bigger RAM and internal storage, and also 3.5mm headphone jack. The most important point here is, Oneplus 6 or Oneplus 5T no longer are the budget flagship killer that are being advertised for very long time. There are plenty to choose from among the lower price range, that is not inferior to Oneplus 6 or Oneplus 5T. Quite simply Oneplus smartphone now are becoming over hyped like Huawei and Samsung smartphones. Of course, we are free to choose what phone that is the best for us, no right and wrong for buying a specific smartphone. Even the budget Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 AI and ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 are actually performing well just like the flagship phone such as Samsung S7 Edge/Note 7/FE, or Huawei P10/Mate 9.

 • Zenfone z5!

 • Zenfone 5z or Oneplus 5 ? please suggest

 • You can get stabilization switch if select 4k video recording option.

 • The 6GB/128GB version already is a steal, undercut phone like Samsung S9+ for half. It also undercut the over hyped Oneplus 6 for the 128GB version. Now, only Xiaomi Mi8 come very close. Others around the same price with last year spec are Huawei Mate 10 (without the pro), and the Honor View 10 (V10).

 • The affordable price of 8GB Ram with storage of 256 GB put other phone to a shame and demand for high price. Well done Asus and keep it up.

 • LTE work in B4 aws for latin america ??

 • I also don't seem to have a stabilisation switch...

 • This phone camera2api hardware level support is not enabled to Level 3, only "Legacy" level. So, Google Camera is not fully supported. May need future upgrade to be enabled by default or via rooting the phone, unlocking the bootloader.

 • Hi, the silver color is not as classic as midnight blue color. if you want better light shimmer on your phone, get silver.

 • The stock app for photo sucks.. Went around to take some shots today at Central Park.. Especially using panorama mode ended up having blurry photos..reverting back to Gcam everything is fine..guess we need to wait for our ( pie ) update..

 • Guys , help me pick which colour pls . Should i go for always nice black or the silver . In internet i see so much different silver make me hard to choose

 • I have found jpg and raw mode but still looking for EIS

 • The so called "EIS button" is "Video stabilization" switch. Turn it on or off, as suggested, turn off may improve video quality. For RAW still image shooting mode, it is available on "Pro" shooting mode, where at "Camera resolution" setting, there is a "RAW + JPG (4:3)" setting.

 • I am also unable to find it .plz anyone can tell.

 • PS: I found the latest port, Arnova8G2 v8.1/v8/v7.9.9 didn't works on Zenfone 5z. The only Google Camera version works is Arnova8G2 v6. (4th or 5th version earlier)

 • I tried. The Google Camera apps is supported by default, meaning camera2api is enabled by default.

 • Why no review yet

 • what is sar value of zenphone 5z indian standard

 • take zenfone 5z , it have sd card slot the only reason for me haha & u can check the quality of camera on youtube, asus beat mi in my opinion

 • malaysia price 1899 with 128GB , the best price for this spec so i wont complain the audio or camera or what with this crazy price

 • I received a system update of 54MB in my Zenfone 5Z a week back and my recent apps button just takes me to a "no recent items" screen. Any idea how to fix? I've rebooted a few times which did nothing. Every time the recent items shows empty which is annoying me a lot... Does anyone have any idea what needs to be done to fix this issue.

 • Yes Asus is best work of this this is best phone

 • Never...

 • btw - when will it be reviewed by gsmareana?

 • Anyone found the EIS toggle switch?

 • Yes, can't deny there are better low light cam out there, Samsung S8/S9, Google Pixel 2 and Huawei Mate 10/P20 does some fabulous job. However, it really is hit and miss, not what I expected. I'm not a fans of low light anyway.

 • Does Mi 8 have expandable memory card and 3.5mm headphone jack? No right, so zenfone 5z is better.

 • I would recommend the Xiaomi mi 8 since its cheaper and include the same specs in almost all areas, however updates could be a concern . Their cameras are not tested against each other (yet) so that will have to wait but for 240 euros less Xiaomi mi 8 is a great deal.

 • Thanks for the suggestion but I'm satisfied with the Leica cams of Mate 10 even on low light. -,-

 • Guys need your help.. Just installed Google camera app.. İts way better than the stock Asus camera app.. However to install the latest version of gcam as we all know the camera 2api has to be unlocked..the phone has to be rooted and bla bla..is there any other way or other app that we can get the best out of camera.. Thanks for your help

 • how do i do that? can't find a button to do that.

 • Zenfone 5Z or Xiaomi MI 8?I'm really in doubt which one I should buy. Please help!

 • Zenfone 5Z or Xiaomi MI 8?I'm really in doubt which one I should buy. Please help!

 • Try turning off eis

 • It does support OTG.

 • Suggesting you to install Google Camera apps that improve the image quality a lot. I have installed in this Zenfone 5z and the result is so much better. Prove that it is camera algorithm issue rather than the hardware itself. Search for the apk file and give it a try, you will be amazed.

 • Suggest you directly install Google Camera apps to solve the low light issue (I already installed on this Zenfone 5z). Again, as I said, is up to camera algorithm rather than the hardware. But low light is still low light, detail is still loosing out. Google Camera does giving the kind good low light image that you want. You can Google around for the apps.

 • Maybe you can give Mate 10 a try.

 • At my country region, the official price from ASUS is almost same as Huawei Honor 10 and Honor 10, comparing the 128GB version. Initially, I was eager to buy Huawei Honor View 10 128GB, with official warranty, the high spec flagship phone that sold at upper midrange price, which is much cheaper than official Oneplus 5T 128GB, Oneplus 6 128GB, and also cheaper than the official Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 128GB, and Mi Mix 2S, 128GB. Now, suddenly this phone is launching with SD845, that still comes with headphone jack and Micro SD slot, camera got real OIS, I am convinced to choose this phone over the others. The official Oneplus 6 with the same 128GB storage, is around 64% more expensive than this phone. Yes, the non-official Oneplus 6 is cheaper, but still no where close to this phone, is 40% more expensive. The closest official phone, that is priced close to this phone is Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, that also comes with SD845, is still 35% more expensive. Additionally, the non-official Xiaomi Mi8 128GB is 30% more expensive than this phone. Go and compare yourself, this one is the true flagship killer, sold at midrange price. Of course, no phone is perfect. All brand has their own flaws. Many will come and bash this phone to claim that Oneplus 6 and Xiaomi Mi8 have AMOLED, Oneplus 6 has pure Android experience, Xiaomi MIUI are more fluid, Oneplus 6 has water resistant. Other brand has better camera, other brand has wireless charging, other brand has better speaker, other brand has bigger battery, other brand has IR blaster, other has no notch, other brand has better build quality, other brand are much better, just because other people also buying that. Some also considering more custom ROM support as the buying criteria. The list go on, and you will never satisfied. The final price I paid for this phone, 6GB RAM/128GB, is $416 dollar, or 28,512 rupees, official 1 year warranty from my local ASUS store.

 • There is a lot on the table to buy this phone.. Latest sd845 latest Gpu Dual speakers more and more.. My almost 3 weeks experience out of Zenfone 5z 128/6GB..this is a perfect gaming phone..media beast.. However the camera department and software needs a lot of trimming..

 • does it have usb otg

 • New update brings RAW capturing in Pro mode and Panorama function ... Good Asus ..... Not checked for any other functions ..

 • Yes me too, plan to get Asus zenfone 5z for my next phone.

 • In my past experience with photography, grainy part is part of the low light effect, no matter how better the low light capability, post processing mostly is needed, or directly solve with strong lighting. So, others so called less grainy low light photography mostly are post processing effect. Yes, for most people, less grainy means "better", in fact detail still losing out. I don't know how low light condition you have. Even good camera like Google Pixel 2 still can fail. (And yes, people do believe these low light capability are part of the camera capability, in fact it may just be the software post processing, which most people prefer, just like Google Camera algorithm, give it time for another software updates may solve those issue)

 • Winner should goes to xz1, but not by much. Both are not good in low lighting photography. Benchmark still goes to S7 Edge, S8, S9, Pixel 2. (But please, don't expect much on low light camera, even me myself is not satisfied how Samsung S9 perform in real low light condition, it is a hit and miss, too low light still ruin the picture, it is better than others, but still not up to satisfaction. I prefer good light photo anyway, it is much more satisfying) However, in good lighting condition, xz1 almost beat all of the competition.

 • Hello, just did the firmware update " ZenFone 5Z ZS620KL_ WW_80.11.37.95" wich should give me RAW support and panorama. Well the panorama was actually added, but i still don't see the RAW feature. And worse, The camera is now even worse in the videoperformance at 1080p 60 fps. autofocus is showing somekind of wobbling hunting jello effect, and the grainy muddy video in lower light is even more terrible now. Come on man, stop ruining my phone!...please fix!!! o yeah, still the jerky motion problem not fixed.

 • Should i buy zenfone 5z or sony xz1? Anyone help plz. Sine xz1 is $100 cheaper than zenfone 5z. And what about camera (low light pic) on these 2 Thanks

 • Should i buy zenfone 5z or sony xz1? Anyone help plz. Sine xz1 is $100 cheaper than zenfone 5z. And what about camera (low light pic) on these 2 Thanks

 • xDD I still living with 1900mah battery for all day.

 • All hater listen, this is the only phone that I considered as the true flagship at midrange price, where unlike some pretentious brand, this one remain the 3.5mm jack, and real Micro SD slot, despite it is a hybrid sim slot. It also got dual speaker. What it actually lacking are just wireless charging, and IP rating. Complain about camera? Go and find a proper Canon, Nikon, Sony Alpha to know what true photography is all about. Smartphone camera despite has improvement every year, are only for social media usage. Complain about battery life? As long as it can last one day, then I am satisfied. No phone is going to last forever. Complain no AMOLED? I personally found LCD are much more durable than AMOLED display despite the over saturation and true black of AMOLED. LCD just look as good from 1st day usage even after several years. You get some and loose some. At all fairness, this is the new king of budget Android smartphone. It's price even beat Oneplus, Xiaomi, Honor at both import and local price. Of course, always there is competitor, the next big price jump, should you all look for Vivo Nex S, a true innovative phone that has real full body screen, under screen finger print, screen vibrate speaker, that all still sold cheaper than Samsung S9/S9+

 • A very good phone for its price. The Meteor Silver Colour is so Shiny.

 • Hater gonna hate, lovers gonna love. Oneplus, Samsung, Google Pixel, iPhone fanboys and other hater hate much cheaper smartphone with specs near to what they are using. Get a live, it is just a smartphone sold at more affordable price. Certain not the best, but you get what you pay for. Using for 3 or 4 years? Yes, no problem on that, as long as you keep your phone save, and don't listen those people comment who change their smartphone yearly. Go on and show off your Samsung, Oneplus, Google Pixel, and iPhone, which many think are best of the best best. Must get the best, if not, lousy people will look down at you. I am happy with my Redmi Note 3. (You guys can continue trolling, my Redmi Note 3 works just fine and can do 100% of smartphone stuff without any issue, just like what your expensive smartphone can do, I'm going to get this ASUS Zenfone 5z as my next upgrade)

 • All android devices are only good for two years at best with its abysmal software updates. If you want to use a phone for 3 years, better buy an iphone.

 • This phone. nothing is better on S8+ .

 • Obviously, this phone. It's newer, it has better hardware, SD card slot, 3.5mm jack. It's a no brainer.

 • Lol... Asus is Taiwan, all huawei honor oneplus are from China

 • Front facing camera image is blurred. It is very low quality. I have updated all the updates. Any idea please

 • This phone or samsung galaxy s8+? Plz i need help

 • ZenFone 5z made OP 6 cry when it came out :)

 • Not possible yaar

 • I am using this phone for 2 weeks , satisfied by over all performance and value for money . This could have been a All flagship killer if Asus has launched with 12 MP wide angle camera , 16 MP front camera for selfie. , 8 gb RAM and 3700 MAH battery and slightly improved camera software . But ASUS has proved that they are capable of developing excellent product with high quality .

 • I really do agree with the video part.. Having the phone almost for 3 weeks.. No complaints except the video quality.. İt's like Asus zenui software is wearing down the original potential of this machine..

 • I have this phone for 2 weeks now, and i must say it is a very smooth and fast phone, compared to my old LG G4. Except the camera (software) is a little dissapointing. The photo quality is about as good as the G4, except there's no possibilty to shoot RAW with the zenfone. Also the autofocus is not as accurate (more hunting for focus) especially in low light. The automatic exposure adjustment when recording video is not as smooth as the G4. The overall video quality is also not very good compared to LG G4, with G4 i was able to record crispy smooth motion 60fps full hd video. with zenfone the video is more jerky. is seems to drop frames every second. Also low light videoquality is very grainy and muddy compared to LG. However i don't think it's a hardware issue with the zenfone, but software related. Asus needs to improve the camera software. Propably the video is recorded with too low bitrate. It would be nice if asus would unlock full camera2api to allow other camera apps to use full potential of the hardware. A "pro video settings section" just like the "pro photo section" would be nice, to give the user more control over bitrate , framerate , shutterspeed, diaphragm etc. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice phone, but the camera (software), especially the videopart needs more refinement.

 • Guys, beetween zenfone 5z, mi 8, and oneplus 6 which one will you choose?

 • No, the 3300 battery is enough for 1 day use with whis efficient battery.

 • This phone checks some boxes. But, no support for Bands 66/71 and needed 3800 mAh battery or better. Does have a notch though, ugh!

 • This phone is Oneplus killer.

 • Of course it's more expensive they're not even in the same league. This is a flagship the R15 and Honor 10 are midrange at best.

 • It would be great if GSMArena has a battery life test for this phone. Thank you.

 • My Asus model is Z01RD

 • WHUT? This phone is the world's cheapest SD845 phone with great specs. 275K antutu and Honor 10 with that low powered Kirin 970 has 235K. Go get some information baby :)

 • TQ

 • Take note of the processor used though.

 • It's too expensive. It costs more than oppo r15 and huawei honor 10.

 • Yes It support.

 • Will Asus Zenfone 5z support USB-C to HDMI adapter?

 • There's no difference between 621 and 620. but I think 621 is non official.

 • Pls review Indian version of 5z ie ZS621KL and difference in zs620kl

 • no dual band?

 • Can you help me with the model number screenshot?

 • hey gsmarena when are you going to review this device need your proper assessment before buying the handset, thanks .

 • I HAVE RECEIVED ZS621.What is difference betweenZS620 &621

 • it is zs621kl

 • indeed ,one plus sound was poor at the time of launch, but after software update it is now at par.

 • thanks, I have found it.its reception extremely well.

 • FM RADIO IS available, I have found it

 • And what about 5z will it be good for 3 to 4 yr of uses ..

 • But review on youtube is opposite of what you saying

 • But dude I have checked ze620kl device I have received

 • Try looking at the expanded quick toggles from the notification bar.

 • I do not find FM RADIO although GSM ARENA included in Specification

 • Which colour is good blue or silver?

 • zs621kl is the indian variant.

 • Is everyone receiving zs620KL or zs621KL

 • whenever I PUT MY EARPHONE jack, some of the song stop playing

 • The sound quality of ASUS ZEN5 Z is not better than ONE PLUS 6 after updating. The screen also not as vibrant as ONE PLUS 6.Whenever I put my Earphone jack in 5Z,SOME OF THE SONG STOP PLAYING.

 • If storage and its expandability matters with you most go get the ZF5z, it has an sd card slot to start, go with the oneplus 6 if you'll get the 8 + 128 gb or 256 gb version, just don't get the 64 gb, it won't last you 3-4 yrs.

 • Should i go with 6gb 128gb or 8gb 256gb or op6 6gb 64gb i have budget around 35k and can use 3k discount offer on flipkart for asus as well . Also which color is best in asus 5z blue or silver ??

 • Asus Zenfone 5 Camera Score according to the well respected dxomark mobile review:

 • They're wrong :)

 • Thanks mate

 • well the reviews on youtube are saying opposite for camera

 • Hi Dear rKH, I'll be happy to help you. The AI scene-detection is enabled automatically. it's only available to use in Auto mode and there's no option to enable or disable this feature.

 • I don't understand the need for USB 3.0. Do you expect to transfer large time multiple times a day?

 • Hi, can anyone guide how to activate the ai mode in camera. As i couldn't find anywhere even after FOTA.

 • So oneplus 6 is low quality too, right? As what you have said, "low price = low quality".

 • Is only the beginning I have told you here is very low quality phone but do not listen.Asus phones in general are extremely low quality =low prices

 • Review Review Review GSM arena.. Ur review is awaited for this Phone..

 • If only it was USB 3.1

 • I have purchased Zenfone 5z 2 days ago. Everything working fine but mobile is getting hot while charging even when it is switched off and at heavy usage for 10-15 mins. Is this normal??

 • Just think you hate ASUS products a d then decide to rant on every model with out evening owning sed model,

 • If you want camera you buy Cannon or some shit like that.If you want a powerfull smartphone for 500 Euro to use more than 2 weeks you buy One Plus. If you trow 500 on your window buy Asus or just give me the money is less headache .

 • One plus 6 is clear the best and most performant and quality choice

 • Yes it is at par and sometimes better particularly in low light. It is a fantastic phone but only has one con which I noticed so far (use of 2 days) is AI AI disturbs time and again, it is a total waste of resources. It slows down phone by observing your behaviour to use a app.

 • I took few photographs in my car garage with very very low light coming from outside . I was not able to see the corners of the garage and the body of scooter parked near to my car .Surprisingly the dark corners were captured along with the scooter by ASUS 5z in AUTO mode . Only problem was the amount of noise it had . It can not be used for printing to any size .

 • Hi friends, I am planning to purchase this phone to replace my ageing S7. Will the camera in the ZF5 at least match the S7 in low light scenarios?

 • Is this phone support MHL cable?

 • is this series phone issued ram 6GB/64GB and 4GB/64GB?

 • asus 5z have guest mode????

 • This phone doesnt have native video calling feature. if someone knows how to enable it kindly tell

 • Received phone two days back . Easy to use but slightly slippery if you have butter hands , better to use with case . Nice back camera for all regular uses may not be sufficient when you need to print huge posters . Front cam also ok for selfies but a 20 pixel will give more details .Potrait mode is very good in reasonably bright conditions , night shots may show noise .As with all fast charge mobile is heating when charged from 20 to 80 with in 50 minutes but then cools down as charging progress . Very good speaker for audio . Audio can be setup for headphones which improves the sound to nice levels . If you are worried about battery , I think it will last for a day for regular usage , with out heavy gaming and not more than 2 hrs of YouTube watching .I have read many opinions on various mobile and all of them have some issues, which is due to the nature of technology used and mass production done by these companies with tight deadlines .

 • Can we change the notification led light colour

 • This is very good phone.I just bought it day before yesterday , and it is an excellent phone.I found no issues at all. For now it is the best SD 845 phone below 40k.I ran geekbench 4 on this phone and it gave me a score of 9027 multicore which very impressive.overall I am very happy with this phone.

 • Which is best for purchasing Asus Zenfone 5z or Oneplus 6?

 • This phone will make them cry! Camera is great,HIGH PERDORMANCE and very good scene-detection. with that budget, you can buy the 128/6GB version. at 36000 you can buy 256/8GB version. The ZenFone 5z is exlusively avalable in Flipkart.

 • Does it support wifi calling feature?

 • can any user share his opinion on overall camera performance (macro, portrait, dynamic, low light). i am confused between this and op6 or may be upcoming mi8. my main concern in camera only and budget is upto 35k

 • Lol, Lenovo Z5 is the exact same thing as the ZF5 but worse cause it is a Lenovo. Lenovo has been making bad phones and their marketing was all bull*, they even made poor Motorola worse than it is before.

 • Lenovo 5z is a better alternative and half priece

 • Asus phones are the worst.Baterry sucks, software lots of bugs. Not worth the material they are made from.

 • It has IOS and gyro EIS. OIS on IMX363,EIS on all three cams.

 • The Camera (main/rear) specification mentioned on GSMARENA says, the 5Z has gyro eis... but actually it has 4-axis, 4 stops optical image stabilization (as mentioned ASUS global website). check it out here :

 • I don't know dude where do you get this information but mine arrived yesterday and has 4k60fps and 1080p240fps feature and currently I am posting this comment from it.

 • Mine arrived yesterday and it is a 6 GB ram varient Zenfone 5z and my previous earphone working fine with the device(my earphone model is meze 12 classic).

 • I heard there are problems with the audio output from the headphone jack? How was it? I am planning to buy this phone and this is one of the deciding factor to buy this phone. I usually listen to music while commuting. TY!

 • Photos with wide angle camera is 8MP and lacks clarity

 • Even One Plus 6 supports it

 • some missing specs 1. 4k6ofps 2.1080p240fps slomo 3.4*2.8ghz gold 4.full dci-p3 colour gamut for confirmation see asus website

 • so far my zenfone 5z no issue for the bat,.. satisfied user here :)

 • yes zenfone 5z supports both sim LTE as well as VoLTE ,which no other phone supports. camera wise it is even better than op6.

 • i have already ordered it. after a lot of research work i believe it is best phone ,afterall its not a chinese brand atleast.

 • Very helpful. Battery life anyone?

 • Just got the 6gb/128gb version from Taiwan..it's awesome.. pretty fast and totally a multimedia beast.. My only complaint; battery life could be better.. However they say: the AI will learn your interests and favorite apps and modify the battery life in time.. Cheers !

 • Really a good phone with really good battery time (y)

 • hello for those zenfone 5Z user, how about battery issue? have you encounter any? for hevy gamers to the phone heats up?

 • Thanks for the excellent comparison, what are your thoughts about the display?

 • Thanks 🙏

 • Nope

 • waiting for the full review of this unit.. hoping for a better battery life.. it's been a while that asus has a sensible high end unit in terms of price.. zenfone 2 is great then zenfone 3 went too high and zenfone 4 become a unicorn i mean you can read about it but you can't see the physical unit of the phone.. 5z has the potential in pricing hopefully it doesn't overheat and power hungry..

 • support wireless charging or not?

 • It's normal for the body to get warm a little when playing games. but in normal usage, and because of it's efficient cores(quad 1.7GHz) the phone never gets warm even when watching videos in 1080p.

 • In some review videos with PUBG gaming not very high heating observed. 4K recording how ever caused heating Charging causing heating as with many fast charging phones . Phone users can comment better ...

 • Who told you that MI 8 is expected in India? I heard that only MI 8 SE shall be coming, as MI 8i for India

 • I saw some review videos showing screen flickering in low light videos shooting in youtube .Is this a software issue or hardware issue .Apart from this I feel I should buy this ..

 • any heating issue on this phone .plz rply

 • Way behind in camera? Grow up man. The IMX 363 is an awesome sensor and it is the same that's used in Mi 8. Also Asus included a wide angle lens instead of a telephoto, which is offered by none of the flagships, barring LG.

 • is it water resistant?

 • Not to mention a high fidelity DAC, unheard of at this price range!

 • Well done Asus

 • I bet he even not read 5z's camera specs.

 • Hi Everyone, Since GSMArena has yet to post a review about this phone, I will post a short summary now that i have been using it for over a week. My partner got the Oneplus 6 and I got the Asus Zenfone 5Z. The benefits I see the Oneplus 6 over the Zenfone 5Z is the water proofing and slightly faster OS (we're talking milliseconds of delay, so barely worth mentioning). Camera: The camera on the Oneplus 6 is slightly clearer and with less noise in good light but the camera interface and multitude of additional software options on the Zenfone give it an edge when it comes to editing the photos or fixing it in post. The AI camera apparently notices the changes you make and which photos you keep and eventually start to make those changes for you without any input which is nice. I give the video quality to the Zenfone because of the wide angle camera and OIS/EIS which keeps shots nice and clear. Battery: Exactly the same, literally the same 3300mAh battery in both phones, maybe 2-4%~ difference over the course of a day but nothing worth writing home about. UI/Launcher: Asus ZenUI 5.0 is very very slick and compared to previous ZenUI it's night and day. I've always used the Asus file manager even in other phones because of how easy to use it is and that does not change here. OxygenOS is also incredibly fast and OP has stated that it will be just as fast 1 year down the line but we'll have to wait and see. Build quality: I gotta say the Oneplus feels nicer in the hand. I can't put my finger on it but it just feels nicer to hold. It's probably the weight of it since it is a bit heavier than the Zenfone. Audio: not even a contest. OP6 has a single downfiring speaker of questionable quality and Zenfone wins with the dual speakers and significantly better audio quality via headphones thanks to it having DTS:X and also an onboard Audio equalizer Overall: Do a little research and choose whatever phone you like and stop getting angry at each other on internet forums. I chose the Zenfone because audio quality and camera quality are very important to me and I don't care about waterproofing because I've never once dropped any phone I own directly into water, nor do I want to go swimming with my phone.

 • Why do you think that 5Z camera is far worse than OP6? Check comparisons on YT, 5Z camera nailed OP6 as well as S9.

 • Yes it supports dual 4g, 2 jio sims. Camera quality is very good thanks to its AI (Artificial Intelligence) camera. Dedicated lens for wide angle photography. Manual mode and auto modes. Automatically detects environment and gives you best shot. With f/1.8 aperture it gives good low light photography It has both OIS and EIS (optical and electronic image stabilisation)

 • Guys....It is AI(Artificial Intelligence) everywhere 1. AI charging: intelligently charge (fast and slow) depending on requirements 2. AI camera: identifies environment and gives you best shot, apart from that due tonits f/1.8 aperture gives good low light photography. There is a dedicated wide angle lens to take wide angle pics. 3. AI ringtone: Checks your surroundings and rings accordingly (loud or mild) 4. AI app: Monitors your app usage pattern and suggest to open app 5. Micro SD card support with hybrid slim slot 6. It has 3.5 mm headphone port....a big thumps up to ASUS. It also provides in ear good quality headphones with it 7. Zen UI is fast....very good RAM management 8. Android 8.0 out of the box, it will provide android p update 9. Dual speakers provide excellent sound quality 10. 3 microphones provide very good noise cancellation and good call quality 11. Fast fingerprint sensor and face unlock 13. Dual 4g volte support, you can use 2 jio sims at a time

 • If we compare it with one plus 6 in camera department asus is way behind op6 but pricing wise it is king in India . We'll wait for mi8 launch to see its pricing too it has more features than op6 and asus 5z with pricing almost same asus 5z i think so . And also lack of amoled in 5z is one factor but i think it is covered by good quality ips display. The lack of good quality camera is stoping me from buying this beast . Lets wait for mi8 launch this month then the real battle will start .

 • If Camera is your only priority then Get the Honor 10.

 • Which Trend

 • When is the gsmarena review coming for Asus Zenfone 5 and 5z, eagerly waiting for your battery test as I find it very accurate n all aspects

 • Is the 8GB/256GB release?

 • Xiaomi is literally one of the last OEMs to use notch display. Rn on Mi8 has it

 • Camera Wise - Nokia 7+ overall hardware specs - Asus 5Z ( camera is still much better than other same range smartphones,)

 • sir any one know it will support both sim 4g. and which one is best in camera at low light nokia 7+ or asus 5z. thanks

 • Cristian. Yes, in Poland shops sells this smarphone with 6 GB ram and 64 GB.

 • The best Asus without infrared ,radio+rds ,USB 3.1 + otG ,incomplete WiFi.It is appropriate to have 5000mah battery here not in another device .Price here is intolerable for many many unless Asus does something just ! Nevertheless it is good smartphone.Justice Rights supports absolute disadvantaged unprivileged ones based on moral guidelines.

 • Battery is good from my opinion, i easily get 8-9 sot on Wi-Fi and 6-7 on battery, but i have many apps. While gaming, i didn't noticed much heat, I'm really impressed with this phone. The software needs some minor improvements, but all in all is great too

 • how is battery life and if there is any heating problem

 • The wide Notch is a worldwide patent, which is usable for all companies. but the wrong thing is the camera placement and it's up to down (wide is top and normal is bottom) model.

 • guess again. It was sharp that started the trend followed by Xiaomi

 • You are ASUS manufacture that's why you are not to say disadvantages of Asus. Please tell me right. Dont blame to another phone like best bult quality Oneplus

 • It was the Essential phone that initiated the notch. Apple is another copy cat mobile phone company. Shame on you iPhone users.

 • Different person different perspective, no need to say like this, someone outside also say that one plus sucks, if you have any suggestions for Asus, you are welcome, but if you are saying this without any right opinion, you can keep your mouth shut and step aside.

 • No Water Resistance for this monsoon, No better build quality like One Plus 6. Go to Hell Asus.

 • I'm surprised to see that some people are complaining about the battery life, i really don't know how they're using the phone, really. I'm a pretty heavy user and i have many communications apps (that are using some amount of battery at the end of the day), but on my Zenfone 5Z the thing are pretty solid, i can say that I'm not seeing a big difference between this and my ex Huawei Mate 10 Pro, the Asus is stunning for 3300mah, very well optimized. The phone is great, i was afraid to buy an Asus product, but now i encourage everyone to buy this phone, having in mind that for 500e you are reviving a flagship. Yeah, if would have been waterproof.. but i can live without that. There are some minor bugs with apps disappearing from menu and translations, but i'm sure that the further updates will solve this.

 • It's available. for example (as I know) a 128/8 GB version will come to my country.

 • it's great for these optimized specs, such as LPP enabled CPU and perfect-worked software. and the battery saver is doing good here.

 • Agreed! I don't why do the people likes decreasing Asus' popularity :| I'm using FonePad 7,ZenFone 2 Laser,ZenFone 4 Max,ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro and ASAP ZenFone 5z :)

 • I have used Asus dear. Waste of money. Go with Branded phone.

 • I'm hoping you have the Zenfone 5z and are speaking with your user experience and not just shooting in the air. I've used Asus phones and currently using the Zenfone Zoom S and never had an issue of battery. In fact Samsung are the worst with battery drain issues(I've had an S2 & S3 and my friend had battery drain issues even with the Note 3).

 • Battery back up is very poor and camera result is not upto mark as compared with Honor 10. I have already used Asus Zenfone 3. First 6 month is good but then problem start like battery draain fast, Camera blur, Heating problem.I personally suggest n't to buy Z5. It's only gud in spec, not real life. You can find lot of issue, after used 2 month. if you invest high price like 35K, Go with other phone like Oneplus 6 (Best in Processor, Storage and Display), Honor 10/Vivo X21 (Best in Camera and Display), Nokia 7 Plus, Upcoming Moto Z3 Play (Release in July) .

 • Think battery capacity not sufficient to this setup.

 • Some big stores in Romania are selling this phone with 6 Gb RAM at 64 Gb internal memory. Here it says that 6Gb RAM are available only at 128 Gb internal. Does anyone know if is possible 6Gb RAM - 64 Gb configuration?

 • For your information, even One Plus is a Chinese brand :/

 • Launching 26th this month via Flipkart in India...

 • Oneplus 6 costs 35k. This will be starting at 37k. If you want a phone at 28k, go for Nokia 7 plus.

 • This is not chainise phn

 • Price should be Rs. 28000, No more than for Chinese phone. As compared with Honor 10, OnePlus 6 IS BETTER FOR EVERYTHING

 • 1. ASUS is Taiwanese . 2. Why NOTCH is not needed?

 • The Chinese will soon learn that this Notch fad is about to disappear. All my favorite Chinese manufacturers are now my least favorite, just for adding unneeded notches to their phones.

 • Waiting for launch in India

 • but with diferent for better, cpu and gpu as also an diferent amount of memory, from 4 to 6. it's a little bit diferent. if you want a casual phone is to mutch phone for you, if you want to play and use ultimate aplications, then is a must have gadget

 • I wish they'd release higher end phones like this in the Philippines.

 • already available in many European countries (450 EUR < 6 - 64 GB version) or in pre-order also 8GB 256GB Version in some countries Launched in TW 1st June!

 • I think so . . . B, C Versions also have American LTE Bands 4, 12, 17, 30 and a lot more

 • Do you know if it will come to Roumania?

 • Where cN I pre. Order it?

 • The availability is different for each region. Where are you from?

 • Still waiting for my pre-ordered Asus Zenfone 5z!! Really underrated fone!

 • yes , :)))

 • And stereo speakers! That's a big one

 • Almost all the specs are the same as on the cheaper model.

 • This model taking forever to release lol

 • Check the review of the device on DxOMark first before judging. I switched from ZenFone 3 to ZenFone 5 and I currently use the device for photography and videography purposes.

 • Agreed, A professional user can take images better than Huawei with 'PRO MODE' .

 • Does anybody know if ASUS will be releasing a version for the United States? The global version does not have the important band 4 and 12 for T-mobile. The 5Q is released but not the 5Z.

 • I don't understand, you came to this particular thread to post your baseless opinion not grounded by any real world data? The new Asus ZenUI has almost no bloatware and the camera has scored 93 on DXOMark, ranking it right up there next to the Huawei P20 and Google Pixel 2. Maybe you should do some research first before interjecting?

 • ZenFone 5z looks pretty good, Oneplus 6's camera needs work, 5z is special at everything! try 5z and you won't be disappointed.

 • Cummon man, it's 06/14/2018 and still not available. I'm seriously in a big confusion between OnePlus 6 and ASUS 5Z...!!

 • Try ZenFone 5 series, You will be very interested.

 • As a former owner of the Asus Zenfone 3 will never buy one of their phones again. Bad camera and an insane amount of bloatware. Give me the One Plus 6 any day.

 • I have to go with Oneplus6 only because the UI is very smooth, clean and simple. It's also heavily based on stock android.Asus UI is terrible. The phone is smooth itself but it's heavily RAM dependant.I remember Huawei P10 with 4 gb ram it had 2.9 gb ram free and Asus zenfone 4 pro had barely 3.5 gb ram free out of 6.That's 2.5 Gb ram used which is a lot. There is also tons of bloatware included too.Apps like photo and movie editors,2 galleries that have plenty useless options and filters and edit options like Samsung, collages, etc. It also had some weird apps like Umbrella or Smiley. Some Asus Zenfone 3 models came with preinstalled games.Like Samsung,Asus comes with tons of apps you don't need.Camera wise they are both the same but Asus have more mods and the OIS is amazing ever since zenfone 3.I love the camera on Asus on any of their mid range and top tier devices. I would pick Asus for the FM Radio and SD card slot and cheaper price. But if you want way faster phone with very low bloatware OnePlus is the best for you.

 • I personally never bought Asus but will think to give it a try ,as Asus come to sd,but companies like xiomi shifted to mediatek ? Why ? And please add a option to show price in indian rupees so we can actually find correct price, thanks

 • Asus are driving me crazy. Give us the release for each country and the price.

 • Not according to the Asus website for the global version of this phone.

 • Interesting that this phone is already available for purchase in Australia through some 3rd party vendors and Ebay. Are we sure that it has NO ingress protection whatsoever? Not even IP54 equivalence?

 • Has this phone been released? Some EBay sellers are already listing this phone as available?

 • It has 4 axis OIS!! Never give people wrong information. Okay?!

 • Correct.

 • On some sites they say that there is 4- axis optical image stabilization

 • No, but it has Eis

 • Hey guys,2160P@60fps has been added. GSMarena update specs pls. Good luck.

 • This

 • No and no, but the OP6 also doesn't have those, and it's still more expensive compared to the 5Z.

 • No IP68 or wireless charging?

 • This or Oneplus 6?

 • In the future updates it will able

 • I don´t think so

 • It's glass, behind it, is aluminium.

 • It's a Glass sandwich with aluminum frame.

 • Is the back of this phone glass or Aluminium?

 • very nice.

 • Why buy zenfone 5z 1. NFC 2. Second camera with wide angle 3. Dual stereo speaker 4. Integrated sound amplifier 5. Max spec as the starting price of oneplus 5t 6. Ai charging Why buy oneplus 6 1. Splash proof 2. Rgb second camera 3. Damn fast software 4. Dash charger Fix me if I'm wrong, we are consumer that sharing knowledge to help other consumer on their purchase decision

 • can it play h.265 / hevc videos?

 • ZenFone 5Z - 6 G - 64 G starting 499€ in Europe/France - mid June. Maybe little less. ;) ASUS Store Russia also has prices & preorder also 8 + 256 GB, they get it first . . .

 • Not clear. Last time I check it was not their list

 • Yes, it does.

 • It could the price in Indonesia will be the lowest. No import tax, Asus has in-country manufacture. Same like Samsung.

 • Zenfone 5Z 8GB/256GB price in indonesia is around $528, just same as OP6 lowest model. It’s already the flagship killer, replacing oneplus.

 • Does it have OIS..??

 • it sad asus remove the IR blaster

 • asus was launching zenfone 5z in Indonesia with a price about 395 euro for 6/128 and 455 euro for 8/256. they are promise started selling this phone in end june.

 • Does it support 4K 60fps video?

 • @ASUS when is this phone coming to India..??

 • Yes with recent software update

 • It support otg with recent software update

 • Yeah.

 • Does this support OTG connection?

 • thats idr 8 mio. indonesia price 6.5 mio for 128/6.

 • 6/64 NT14990 6/128 NT16990

 • All good but no native OTG support for external hard drive - sad

 • Really? Please tell me how i can buy it? Which online shop?

 • Yes. You must use a OTG from usb type-c to mini HDMI or HDMI.

 • Sure!

 • I think 5z will h2h with mi7

 • yes bro it comes with fast charger all phone with fast charging time

 • yes

 • comes with quick charger?

 • This phone has launched in indonesia. The price is low than any flagship phone. Just RP6.499.000 with variant of 128/6

 • Don't strea on aptX. You never get quality on wireless as you do on wired plus you run lower risk of brain tumor due to immediate proximity of bluetooth to your skull.

 • does it support hdmi connection?

 • It supports.

 • Does this support aptxHD? On the Qualcomm website it says it does but on the official website there is no mention of this :/

 • this smartphone is leader of the performance:

 • Where can buy it? Amazon?

 • Did you see the Xiaomi Mi 7? The notch and the chin is horrendous. EZ Win for the ZenFone 5Z!

 • Imo only part i liked about amoled is the real black and oversaturated colour of the screen , other than that ips lcd is good enuf

 • Oh.REALLY? IPS panels get more bright. and this Super IPS Plus' Screen can have 550nits brightness. So you can use your phone in sunlight without any problem and invisibility on screen.

 • Need AMOLED screen , IPS displays are poor in sunlight .

 • Ugly notch no thanks....

 • Yea i hope so , hate the notch but i like the spec.and the price :D

 • The LG G7 has a setting to hide this, so I'm assuming majority of OEM's will include some type of setting as to not offend those of us who want a notchless experience.

 • Will this phone have some option or setting to hide the notch on landscape mode ?

 • 400gb still not enough for some people

 • Do you often use it in the water?

 • Dont get it wet

 • this phone is good but there's no ip certification rating it means this phone is prone in water damage.

 • Really special from Asus.. Samsung is just for a look. Nothing else.... My next purchase planned.

 • Really special from Asus.. Samsung is just for a look. Nothing else.... My next purchase planned.

 • 247499 om Antutu, Beast!

 • Way better than Motorola. The problem with Motorola is very slow updates.... SD845 with FM radio !!!! Good specifications..

 • Go for zenfone 5z. U can't see such a spec sheet till now. And s the notch & dual cameras give it a mordern look.

 • When will the zenfone 5/5z available in Malaysia?

 • I would never buy a samsung, huawei or google device again. Had two Nexus before and each time was a pain in the a** to get the correct service because google told me to contact samsung/ huawei and they told me I need to get in touch with google. I ended up sending my devices with a letter to google. While the galaxy nexus got a new screen the nexus 6p was out of service time (2 1/2 years after release...). So I'm done with them. And since I need a sd-card no matter how big internal storage is, all other flagship devices are a no go. Only the S9 from samsung would be an option but since I root, Samsung is because of their shi**y hardware restrictions. I hope to install an AOSP-Rom on the 5z with just pico gapps for play store. I don't need the other google apps.

 • I have the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 (4070mah) and the Motorola Z2 Play (3000mah). The latter lasts longer. Problem?

 • Only 3300 battery? This phone is already doomed for failure

 • Stop talking about battery!! flagship devices has as at least 3000 up to 4000!! not that 5000mAh higher battery capacity needs more space! increases weight and thickness.

 • 3300mAh is enough for a battery efficient CPU! it lasts at least 1 day!!!! Pls don't give people wrong information :|

 • 3300mAh, REALLY?! Thin is nothing. Why not 5000 mAh as in Asus Zenfone Max ZC550KL?

 • If i were u guys.. I will never buy asus phone again.. I am currently using asus zenfone 3.. After the oreo update,, my rear camera got autofocus problem and i still waiting for the new update but asus didn't do any update about the camera.. This problem already happened to me for 6 months.. Guys.. Please please please please please.. Don't buy Asus phone..

 • > microSD, up to 400 GB Let's be honest, I don't think there is a single user out there that has a 400GB+ MicroSD Card, lol

 • I wouldn't be so excited for this device....my ZenFone3 Deluxe looked just as exciting and has been a disaster. I've had the thing since November 2016 and experienced 3 spontaneous boot loop issues. The last resulting in a dead device. Waste of money for something that should have lasted another year with the specs it had going for it. Sad sad sad. No more money from me ASUS.

 • Why this battery? Why not 4000mah? You lose clients because it. My Mate 10 lasts full day. 3300 is downgrade.

 • nope,,,it does not have any telephoto lens, thats why it does not have 2x optical zoom,,,the secondary lens it have is a wide angle lens...

 • When will it be available? Can't wait for this device. Only flagship device with microSD (ok Samsung, but they have lts of things to complain about).

 • Does it have at least optical 2x?

 • no. Asus chose the natural color enhancement! but the colors can be changed with splendid,so it will have colors like AMOLED Panels! 100% DCI-P3 wide color gamut coverage is here too! :)

 • Sure!

 • is this phone good for gaming?

 • If it were Oled screen, it would increase the price

 • no oled screen...?

 • totaly agree, since using zenfone 3, i,ve never look to other phones just wait for asus new phone... satisfied customer... cant wait to available in indonesian market...

 • Release date in June? This is dead on arrival lol. Asus will never learn.

 • Hi Asus. Please make your phones ips68 Water Proof Super Amoled Display And Finally 4000Mah and above You'll kill all competitor if that happened!

 • 29995 pesos here in the Philippines (6gb/128gb variant)

 • Very good & mordern specs. Futuristic design. Asus please launch it fast.

 • Doesn't make it any less uglier.

 • U can't see these much specs except P20 till now. Absolutely beautiful.

 • A complete phone in all sense. But it could have been more better if there was IR blaster..

 • Bro.. Notch is the current trend in market. Vivo, Oppo all are doing well. Where are you ????

 • Why a top notch? blindly following an ugly and failed design. Shame.

 • One of the phones that is worth considering in 2018. At 155 grams it's much lighter then some famous brands only vivo v9 would be lighter at 150grams. Great budget phone. Will definitely be in my top 3. Wish it was not so shiny cheesy

 • Will this be Available For Verizon LTE in the USA?

 • guys dont worry about the battery asus is the best in battery life and a small information 3300 mah is enough for 9 hours

 • Pls don't give wrong information! 3300mAh is enough to use this phone up to 1.5 day. Good luck.

 • launching in ina may...but the price don't know

 • battery is very low in current life

 • April 14 on Philippines:

 • Any news on its release?

 • Both devices were released in August 2017, but the Essential Phone was announced back in May 2017 (while Sharp's device was announced and release in August/17). So, there you go.

 • Not yet in the Market ! .. But it seems a great competitor to the latest premium Samsung & iPhone smartphones .. Woooooooooow !!! ..

 • read twice, it is said: usb type C 2.0

 • are you sure? check the sharp aquos.

 • Is this already in the market?

 • USB 2.0? What year is it?!?

 • It seems that the width of screen is not as large as Zenfone 3 Deluxe 5.7", since a 6.2" phone with 18.5:9 ratio is just similar to a 5.5" phone with 16:9 ratio in terms of width.

 • i am sorry that i have just forgotten that matter.

 • Apple didn't create "the notch", the Essential Phone did, last year.

 • why android is being a slave of notch based on iPhone X... anyway if this phone is with a right price could be a very competitive phone and might challenge Samsung or Apple lol

 • The only lack in ~ it is: an iOS

 • bro 480 eur is for 64gig rom with 4gig ram if you are aiming for 256 GB internal with 8 GBof ram RAM i think it will be 750 to 800 eur thats my guess and the 128gig internal mem with 6 gig of ram will be 600 to 700 eur...but that's only my guess its not officiall price bro...i hope you will not be shocked when the official price is released..:-D

 • got beam remote control sensor?

 • I like the design tho ts a I thing copy as long as ta pricing is within 500us

 • Teaching Apple how to make a phone that works for half the price.

 • Personally I don't care how the phone look as long as it performs well. What's the use of copying the design if your going to copy the flaws as well. If they copied the design that's fine as long as the can make it better than what the copied it from. that would make a great statement. But I would agree with the other opinions that the could have just take another route with the design. They could have designed it better

 • Whoever you are, ASUS is Taiwanese company. I wondering did HTC phone articles has dumb dumb comment like this?

 • Noooootch. This is epidemic. Lol. Let's wait for OnePlus 6T. Oneplus 6 also have a notch so it's a nope too.

 • Want to have this but still not water proof..i'll just w8 for the OnePlus6/6T hope it'll be water proof..

 • i don't think 480EURO for a 256gb/8gb variant, instead 64gb/4gb, but if it's true, i'm gonna buy it

 • aww looks like iphone x...same like xiaomi gonna come out with same design..awwwww this chinese company lack of design phone im not apple fan either

 • Is it goona come in India . If yes than when and any idea about tha pricing for 6gb/128gb version .

 • Surely!NO. But in heavy usage it's normal to have high hardware temperature.

 • it is having heating issue ?

 • Newsflash, a slew of upcoming android phones will have the notch and resemble the iphonex. But please, is it possible that one more person state the obvious like a mindless drone? I have owned an Asus phone for the past few years and have had no issues with the device..... can't say that about previously owned Samsung, LG and HTC flagships. The 5z will be a fantastic product for a fraction of the cost of the current flagship offerings.

 • Really wanted to buy this one, but Stupid NOTCH ughhh.

 • Look just like iphone x... seriously?!

 • Yeah yeah. Its a direct copy of iphx. So what? Its way better than iphx. If the phone is good, ill buy it. Dont care if its a copycat.

 • Yeah but still, the fact remains that the notch has absolutely no use besides being a gimmick and being the place for earpiece and front camera. It doesn't make any big deal between full top bezel and a screen but with notch. Why the hell not just use a full top bezel? It's more pleasing to see instead of a stupid notch.

 • Want me a 5z now now.....Yup!

 • I don't know why people hate on the notch. It seems like a perfectly good solution to extend screen size! And that back , so awesome! If the price is kept, going to be a great flagship killer!

 • My next phone..

 • I like it

 • I like this one.

 • Seems its for reducing price. (480 EUR VS 800 EUR)

 • It's a very good phone, performing, but it was copied from iphone X.

 • Smh.. If these same spec's was on the Asus zenfone 5 lite.... The 5 and the 5 z would never sell!!! Your own identity means everything!!! Come on Asus..!!! You fail big time!!

 • So, this time instead of "Blame Canada" we gonna sing "Blame Sharp". Pox on you Sharp for introducing this stupid trend.

 • Now its time to love this with 8GB REALLY >>>>>

 • dont do this upper model like i phone x make it basel less or similar

 • Hi . USB to type-C but USB 2.0 to type-C . I mean USB 3.1 or at least USB 3.0 to type-C . Source:

 • Hey. It's completely an eye-sore especially if you are playing MOBA games.

 • Let's see that.

 • Copying the worst part of iPhone X... Didn't expect this from Asus.

 • All these phones (Xiaomi and other edge to edge display phones) are in fact copies of Sharp Aquos, and not by far Apple .... and I bet that the Essential phone has the display of Sharp Aquos 2, because Sharp made it :)

 • but its only $499

 • they update there phone my zenfone 3 max is now in oreo

 • its usb type c bruh

 • its not overpriced its only 749 euros

 • nothing innovative here, just an overpriced

 • the notch doesn't matter, the screen is 6.2 inches, the notch is occupying 0.2 inch of the screen, so you still have a whole 6 inches of undisturbed screen space

 • Cause apple is so original that they really didnt make a cheap copy of essential phone from Andy Rubin, apple fanboys think they are IT technicians but dont even know how to change simple settings and have originality

 • ASUS CEO, Jerry Shen says they will realesing the Gaming Phone in this year. (Bahasa Indonesia) Let see if its will have the notch haha

 • I love this design! Nice job ASUS

 • That notch is one of the most stupidest thing to ever happen to phones, why is everyone using it. I expected the new Zenfone to look good but damn even Asus jumped into the notched bandwagon. I blame the essential phone for introducing this stupidity in the market.

 • This phone has no wireless charging feature? That is so unfortunate.

 • Sometimes being a copycat is too obvious. Pathetic.

 • Still USB 2.0...!?? No USB 3.1 even USB 3.0...!??? Why Asus why!??

 • Cheap imitators. This is embracing

 • this not copy. samsung make for appel and asus lcd panel

 • Agreed! The manufacturers are decreasing bezels And increasing screen to body ratio. Adding a notch is the best way. I like notch.

 • Yepp I think zen5z more beauty from ipx

 • Nice! I like it.

 • I knew bro.. Z5zZs620kL is most beautiful copycat of iX that, that I saw..!!!!

 • Despite the fact that it has ugly notch and copying Apple's iPhone X design, i think this phone has a good price. $499 starting price for flagship specs and not crapping out the modem (I'm watching you OnePlus and Nokia) is not so bad

 • Think of something personal, asus, do not copying

 • My zenfone was installed with marshmallow when bought and now running on oreo ! More than 10 updates till date, facing zero problems. I think this is my most preferred brand these days for next smartphone.

 • Its ASUS Bro, just wait the iPhone X2 and Apple will change the design like Android phones's notch. Just wait.

 • What da beauty iPhone I've ever seen just wow.. Am waiting for notches-less as soon as possible as notchless..

 • Does Asus have a history of providing updates / OS updates each year as new android versions come up or will we be stuck with oreo for next couple of years that we use the phone?

 • Release june 2018? It will be too late... Just like zenfone 4 pro... Poor business strategy....

 • They copy even the ugliest traits of the iPhone, this stupid eyebrow, was a real fail.

 • EIS is better than OIS. OnePlus 5T for instance does well..

 • If EIS is doing a fair bit of job it's enough bro.

 • EIS is the same with IOS don't same anything if you don't know anything just a S****D

 • really? a flagship phone, but the camera don't have OIS? nice joke

 • so what??

 • To be released in June??? WTF.....

 • What about its benchmark test ??

 • New innovation, Top same as iphone X, bottom same as Samsung Galaxy S8.

 • And I'm really sure if Apple copy other OEM, the dumb people still say Apple is original.

 • 83% screen to body ratio? Asus said it has 90%.

 • i'm sure if Apple making another stupid ugly design, Asus and other copy-paste Phone maker will follow

 • orange,,,iPhone clone😂

 • Asus finally coming out with sexy phones and on top of that .....reasonable pricing if the annpunced price is followed ...... an android iphone for the half the price ..... good work Asus

 • they should have waterprof.

 • I don't understand why there's always one or two fallback on every good phone! Why is the flagship not having the three-in-one tray slot as it is in the other two lower Zenfone 5 lineup? Lack of space?! !!

 • Look like cheap fake iPhone x, Asus should hire someone better to design their phones.

 • Yeah ripoff of iphone ? Common is android you already know is better when apple :D I even don't understand people who can compare with it well like samsung says you are baristas.

 • No. They're beyond drunk.

 • Yeah of course the battery should be 6000mah but then again you dont want inch thick phone??

 • I like how the wallpaper is trying to "mask" the notch, but I applaud this phone even with thr blatant iphone X ripoff. Anything towards "bezelless" is a good move imho. Good job Asus

 • The iPhone 8 has a 1821mAh battery. The S8 and S9 have 3000 mAh batteries. So not really THAT small.

 • This is too much over

 • its not a smart design. Notch at the top and bezel at the bottom. They should have moved the screen to the bottom without having a notch in the screen.

 • Smaller notch on top, but on the bottom.., all the way...

 • If only it had an amoled screen!

 • 100% agreed

 • Blatant copies like this is why iPhone users make fun of Android phones, smh...

 • Use your LOGIC, Android OS is Open Source OS and is not suprising. Essential Phone PH-1 do it first. (The notch) And Zenfone 5's Notch is implementing Camera, Stereo speaker and earpiece unlike iPhone X with face ID that make notch wider. I can't imagine OnePlus 6's design comments on it. Cause Zenfone 5 has wide notch and everybody call it copycat. Wow, did we really need Smartphone? We are smart enough.

 • No normal dual sim module witch separate sd card, no ip67 or ip 68, nice but not for me

 • Hate the notch

 • Wow!! Dolby Atmos Headset...

 • I agree with you...bro.....

 • Looks like an iphone x in android platform. The only thing it's missing is the water resistance. Good job with keeping the headphone jack. But i need a water resistant phone.

 • Sd835 zenfone4 pro was 800usd at launch price and currently priced around 700 usd.... Now they want us to believe that sd845 zenfone5z is just 550 usd?? Are u drunk Asus??

 • 480 for this device?! BOM is probably just that

 • 100% right

 • Have a look at Sony, Samsung, Nokia and BlackBerry. Don't make comments by just considering cheap phones.

 • the missing dimensions are (5/5z): 75.65 x 153 x 7.85 mm would have been nice to see an identical device with 67 mm width and 7 mm thickness (less battery of course)

 • waaaw good mobile with bad battery why in 2018 .3300 mah? it must be 5000.6000 mah

 • Nice i agree with ur opinion

 • Very small capacity battery, VERY. Better make more thick phone and install big capacity battery, 10-15 Ah. Now 3.3 Ah is nothing

 • Looks like an iphone x in android platform. The only thing it's missing is the water resistance. Goodjob with keeping the headphine jack.

 • Android users are always criticism iOS users, but the real thing is each time apple launch a new design, all company that makes devices for Google systems, star to copy the big Apple.

 • Asus is a moron company managed by bunch of jokers ,launch the phones by jan-feb and availablity in June or July or November, they just built a sample piece for unveiling and wait till the price of latest SoC is cut by 70 %and then their phones available in the markets

 • It's wonderful exactly what i'm expecting!!! hoping i might get one in France this year!!! thanks Asus!!! best ever!!!

 • been using the zenphone 2 and zenphone 3 for last 2 years stil now no problem amazing devices , thinking about to buy and try this one too. but a little more expectation are ip68 and wireless charging are needed coz it looks classy

 • does anyone knows if this smartphone support slimport?

 • Very impressive. I might consider it, if it is not ticker than 8 mm.

 • After watching Unbox Therapy i can confirm this is an amazing device. The camera is similar to LG's depth of field and with it's dual type set-up it can capture more things in the background such as wide angle mode. There is wide mode on the selfie as well. The specs on paper are overall amazing,8 gigs ram,256 storage,SD card option, headphone jack, nice screen, nice battery,4k at 60 fps and fm radio. Also the audio is same as S9 which has speakers from the speaker and it comes from earphone piece which is great. It's like LG V30 and implementations of S9 but with the newest chipset with looks of iPhone X on a tight budget. No matter what the price is it's not going to be something high as the S9 or iPhone so this is definitely a must buy.

 • Anyone have any battery life concerns with these hardware specs? LCD/8GB RAM.. 3300 mAh. Everything else about this phone is beautiful! At least give me 2 days... My Nexus 6 had a comparable battery, and I had to be mindful of it: brightness, screen dimming/timeout, using 3G/2G over LTE at times. When watching YouTube, Twitch, and using WIFI, it creeped steadily to empty... And I had only 3 apps from Play store installed, rest was stock Nougat. I would be ready to throw my money at ASUS if the battery was bigger.... :[

 • The price is fantastic but the release is so far away. I would get it if it were released today for sure but prices of last year's top phones will likely have dropped well before June. There's also OnePlus which may overtake this phone which looks like 2018's 5T (2017's clear top mid range phone) with their 6T by the Summer.

 • Many sources write that it will have a dedicated micro-sd slot + 2 sim slots, that would be great! I am really looking forward for this phone, it has many features that I would love to use.

 • :O even with FM Radio? is that true?

 • 480Eur ? Wau good Price, R.I.P All with big Price.

 • Amazing device, but realise date is too late. I do believe it is hard to get 845 chips right now, but in summer 845 will be standard. They had to make agreement on 845 chips to ship this phone in a month or two. They even could beat Samsung in sales, who knows.

 • Exactly, and a smaller notch. :D

 • Asus has done pretty well so far with the screen's resolution, but we still need IP68 certification. And wireless charging Besides that, it makes a pretty good case against the Sony XZ2.

 • iphone x notch no headphone jacks this has a headphone jack

 • Asus has made an amazing job this year! They been able to make a 6.2 inch device which fit in a compact body, and even beating Fruit company at bezel-less design. :D The specs are also good, the design is good. Hats off to Asus!
