Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) ZB601KL/ZB602K - User Reviews

  • Lol next year most likely considering Pie released on Aug 2018 by google but we need to wait untill May 2019 on MPM1.

  • How many day,s wait for update android10 version on asus zenfone mpm1 .

  • Recieved a new update. Security patch updated for October. Asus had promised to give two major updates and I hope we users of this phone will get Android 10. That would be nice.

  • Thanks, I'll check another app and confirm the details. :)

  • nope... it doest have NFC, but so far i used it for 1 year and worth it

  • In camera setting it is at the most top part name as 'Flash'.

  • Installed the latest update 059. Don't see anything different here just some security update and bug fix. Kinda weird seeing this phone got the latest security update tbh.

  • actually I have the same issue with the camera. after I took pic and wanted to see, it doesn't click. I tried clicking several times but theres no reaction so I need to close the camera and re-run to see the latest pic taken, or need to go to the gallery just to see latest pics.

  • Does it have NFC?

  • More likely the error on your app. Adreno 509 and 512 is pretty similiar afterall, both have 128 shaders only different in clock speed. @BipulMah Yeah I got that too. You can close the camera app and open it up again to quickly take some photos or like me, installed GCam mod.

  • at first my zenfone had 115k antutu score but after new update it has 130k . my only concern is when i open camera to click pic it doesnt click pic ,instead i have to wait for like 30/40 sec then only i can take pic, i dont know it is camera bug or android bug and other problem that i seem to find is whenever i change quality in pubg, it keep crashing. does anybody have similar problem and/or to solution to this problem?

  • does the maxpro m1 it can be upgradable to android 10?

  • The last update is causing a battery drain. Asus needs to fix this.

  • Thoroughly love my Asus ZenFone Max Pro (M1) but using DevCheck from the playstore I noticed my specs are as follows: SnapDragon 636, Adreno 512, 6GB RAM, 64GB Internal Storage, No NFC (that's quite alright), Camera 16MP, Front Camera 8MP, Device ASUS_X00T_4 (is this a new revision?). Reason I ask is because I noticed all the other models has the Adreno 509 and the 64GB/6GB model is supposed to have dual 16GB Front/Rear cameras. I'm cool either way as this phone is a really solid purchase which I'm enjoying at the moment.

  • any one facing issues with PUBG on this phone, its shows loading in the middle of the game, you cant move for 10-15 seconds when it shows loading, game still goes on in the background during that 10-15 seconds, like you can see what is happening

  • Only kids who play fortnite at their phone

  • Nope, I'm using Gcam right now at Pie 058 without any root and it works. You just need to enable Camera2Api with ADB fastboot. As for the Gcam apk, I'm using from one of these:

  • Need to root the phone

  • Try installing Gcam. It'll make your camera 10 times better. Search: Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 Gcam And check XDA links.

  • After the last update (058), the battery is draining way too much in idle condition and SOT is reduced. Last night my battery was at 22 percent with no background apps running and when I woke up I see the battery is at 15 percent. I purchased this phone a few weeks ago to use as my main phone as this phone doesn't have any bloatwares. Previously I had two of this phone and this is the third one. I had to sell the previously owned 2 phones due to buggy softwares after updating the software. Even today there are bugs like in the Sound settings, the volume sliders are flickering and PUBG is not running as good as it did on Oreo but still the Pie update is good, that's why I'm using it. The only problem I've right now is that the battery drains way too fast after the last system update. I wanted to purchase between the Asus 6Z and ROG 2 Phone but after the terrible experience I've had with this phone, I am not content with buying another Asus device.

  • The first one (057) actually downgrades the Widevine to L3, that's why Asus quickly pushed the second one (058) to fix that. Already installed the latest one. Works normally without issue, still get around 12 hours SOT on 2 days of usage. I guess the next update for security patch will be next month?

  • Latest system update: 10/2/19 (266.67 MB) 1. Update security patch 2. Fix vibration issue during phone call 3. Fix display system issue (142.46 MB) 1. Fix third party issue 2. Fix screen rotation issue @PH

  • But not eligible to play Fortnite but still a good phone.

  • best gaming phone i ever had

  • On Camera app tap Setting (gear icon top left) > Flash > choose Auto or On.

  • How to enable flash light on in camera settings?

  • This phone dont have motherboard issues like Zenfone 6 but maybe it have some camera issues like I facing now if I want to use the camera need to enter camera twice to make the camera works. I have use this phone about 14 months from July 2018.

  • Once mother board issue started then it continues give you problem

  • Bought the 3/32 version here in Indonesia for $113. Came with Jan 19 security update and so I updated it several time, right now at 055 firmware. Have to say I'm impressed. It feels nice on hand and love the battery life. Constantly got around 12 hours SOT on 2 days of usage while always connected to wifi. Never see or feel the bugs that comments have told here, no idle drain either only drops 4-5% overnight so I'm a bit confused about the bugs that you guys have been talking about. Perfectly happy with my purchase. Looks a bit retro though with big forehead and chin compared to notchly phone around me but I really love the price/performance, battery, triple slot and headphone jack. Micro usb port and the lack of quick charging are the only minus for me.

  • android 10 the first Android 10 third-party custom ROM is now available on XDA forum. It is only available for the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 smartphone

  • Buy motorola force or common motorola, having the biggest patent on mobile due a lot of research to bring the right material to prevent crack

  • Battery life is dropped in Pie 56 update. I bought it just a few days ago. Before that, I had two of this phone. Had to sell due to software bugs. Bought recently as a secondary phone. PUBG Lags even in smooth graphics and high frame rate. Oreo was good for this phone. Anyone know detailed procedure to roll back to Oreo?

  • How about 60fps ? I use Google camera with 60fps ,but i just got 42fps

  • That's not necessary tho. All you need to do is just enable usb debugging, reboot device and enter fastboot mode while connecting your device to pc or laptop, type some command on cmd or use program that you can find by googling it, then its done. Your device is not rooted and you can still enable your camera2api

  • need help. i cant use mobile data for sim slot 2.or it isnt possible?

  • No, you don't need to. Google "Asus Max Pro M1 enable camera2api without root" and you can find many. Boot into fastboot mode and just use a command to enable it, it doesn't required rooting and it won't root your device. So your device will still in warranty and will receive OTA updates.

  • How do u know, you need to enable camera2api and the only way to do it is to root your device.

  • Max pro m1 battery 5000 mAh Li-Ion or Li-Po? I see in cpu z said it's Li-ion, which true?

  • Im using 4gb model, its not enabled by default. if we enable it manually will we receive ota updates?

  • No no no

  • But Samsung Class 1st microSD Card. It's faster & cheaper than SanDisk. Also, appload speed and random read/write is more than or equal to SanDisk. I'm using 64GB. You can get it for near 800 with offers.

  • I tried this and it worked. Thank you! I really need my camera especially now that classes are back. About the micro sd (if you are using one or if you know a brand) what should i get for a replacement to my current micro sd? Btw, i'm using Sandisk.

  • I tried this multiple times both with the camera and the photos, sadly it did not work. Another reply i got recommending setting the photo storage to internal (/phone) storage, weirdly enough it did work. Every time i set the photo storage to my sd card, the pictures just wouldnt load, but if the pictures goes to my internal storage, it would. Its either i would need to buy a new sd card or i will have to manually transfer my pictures to my current sd card. Anyway, thank you for the help.

  • What worst

  • But does it void my warranty?

  • Can go for google camera after enabling camera 2 api, I have seen that it greatly improves the quality of the pics.

  • Just bought max pro m1 last month and update it to android p, and i can say that there's no problem or bug that listed in this comment section. but the problem is there's no manual/pro mode in the camera, hope that they'll enable it. Sry 4 my bad english.

  • While Playing pubg screen freeze for a second why this happened in this phone.

  • On android 9 i can set ISO to 1600

  • No

  • Yes. What you say is right. My screen is also broken fell from my hand when im in my Sofa.... Really a very bad experience.

  • On camera is there iso higher than iso 800?

  • Sincerely, this phone spesification is very good and nice..I love this phone so much. But this phone had 1 weakness..this phone screen not so durable, easy to crack if fall even from low range(at least 40cm).Enough to crack if the screen hit the surface especially hard or sharp surface. My advice, apply a good screen protector to your phone.

  • lineage os for m1

  • What build number version to get that 3 hour? I heard 340 update is the worst.

  • Yes now you can use google cam Im use at zenfone max pro m1 3gb

  • lg g6 VS max pro m1 bootloop problem VS too many problem

  • is camera2api enabled by default?

  • Hi guys, after the update to 9.0 I am unable to enable the face recognition in my phone. Is anyone have solution for this?

  • Why did u say that?

  • it not official though

  • There is a bulge on the back of my max pro m1 particularly in the lower portion

  • it did. check youtube one guy already installed.

  • yes, already did. check youtube.

  • The camera is not working properly

  • The quality of screenshot's images is bad, really bad.

  • Is 2nd update 15.2016.1902.340 safe to instal? No bug? Is it really improve stability as on detail (the only detail)? Thanks before

  • why nba 2k19 its not finish when your in plying.

  • Well, according to my experience it takes 15 minutes only to charge 1% up to 20% and 1 hour from 20% to 100%.

  • 3 hour

  • Are using micro sd card as default storage for camera? If class speed of your micro sd is low, it may cause problems. Change camera storage to internal memory, then try.

  • How long does it take ur phone to get full from 20%-100%?

  • Such a dump phone with good phone with stock Android

  • when you face call pickup issue, you can lock the phone and unlock then pick up the call. it will help.

  • force stop camera app and then reopen it, its happening randomly with me too

  • Try move the data to other file it's work for me

  • Yepp same here but it's happen on my music folders

  • Same happened to me and continues some time

  • I am having a storage issue. The pictures i take won't load on the Photos. This issue started when I took videos with the Camera. When i switch the camera to video, the app would freeze then it will close the app. Then recently i took a photo, but when i check the Photos, the photo i took wont load. I disabled and forced stop both the Camera and Photos but nothing happened, i still couldnt take photos. All photos just wont load. So i restarted the phone, but all my photos saved on my sd card is gone from the Photos app. There is no more albums from the sd card. I checked from the settings if the sd card is mounted, it was, and the photos i saved are still in there (well most of it....), but its not showing in the Photos anymore. Aside from that, i still cant take a photo. If someone had the same problem before, pls tell me how to fix this.

  • I need help choosing which is better Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 or LG G6

  • hi guys asus zenfone max pro 1 reverse battery issue can some one help me on this as im getting pop up in every 10 sec ...... already updated to pie.. plus battery only gets charge when mobile is switched off.. please help

  • Can anyone test install the game called OverHit to see if the game runs smooth in battle?

  • it's mono speaker phone

  • This phone has a mono speaker that located at the bottom.

  • while incoming call there is no change in my mobile home screen & can't receive a call. To receive call, I have to open the notification bar by dragging screen down there i can find a option. Today only i experience this problem. so plz guide me to solve this problem. Thanks in advance.

  • The speaker of this phone... stereo or not?

  • Change your DPI setting from Setting > Display > Advanced > Display Size. Set it to small and it should fix your issues. The clock on the left is the default look for all Android Pie devices.

  • Have u guys updated ur ios? Cus after i updated mine (today), the notification tab looks pretty similar to M2. The clock is located at the left side now and if you open the notification tab all the way down, it goes halfway through the home button (but it is not overlapping the home button). If i compare that to the M2 it doesnt pass through. Another thing, when i slide down the notification tab when my phone is rotated horizontally, i cant go through the settings bcus the notification tab somehow past the screen. If i simply slide it down, the setting icon wont appear, but if u slide it all the way down, u wont see it anymore. But it is there, its just not showing on the screen, when i slowly minimize the notification tab i can see the setting icon together with the pencil icon, but i cant click it bcus it'll disappear once the notification tab is minimized. The new update is clearly not for notchless phones. I don't know why i got the update. Ps. I called it notification tab cus all notifications are located there, but i dont really know what it is called. Just reply to me the correct name of it. I do hope that u guys know what im talking about and that you have a good news that this will be updated soon.

  • Thanks for info

  • Mpm1 will not get Android Q update. Yes it is Android Pure UI based but it is not on Android One project. So the OS update will be stopped at Pie, while Security Update will probably remains updated for the next years

  • Do this phone will get Android Q update ?

  • For design and prices im more recommend you to buy redmi 7 For battery life, screen resolution, camera, processor, snapdrogon, gpu, cpu and sensors im more recommend to you to buy Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1

  • I can't open my phone after upgrade to Pie. Just a welcome screen. It become black screen if I try to open it. Please help.

  • Please help. Redmi 7 or ZB602k. which of these phones would be better?

  • In my case, the battery life has dropped from 4 days on Android 8 to 3 days on Android 9.

  • "I think it's asus music player from my zenfone 3 Max 5.5" That was your previous comment. You are obviously not talking about max pro m1. "Guys i updated my Max Pro M1 last 5/31/19 it takes long to download (Android Pie 1,569.57 MB) using mobile data but WORTH it because no major issue but my asus music player stop after 1 minute everytime i use" That also your previous comment. See here. This is the part where I assumed you a wrong. Max pro m1 never come preinstalled with Asus music player. Why you complaining it stop working after update? Seem to me you talking about a different phone. Unless you install it manually on max pro m1. If that is true, then you really didn't explain properly.

  • ZB602KL and its available globally.

  • Updated into Pie, perfomance is lower than Oreo, but battery life is better.

  • Reading without understanding is nothing.

  • What is the specific model number of the 6GB version, and why does it seem to be only available in Taiwan?

  • Make sure adaptor 10w at least and have to use fast charge cable, no matter how fast adaptor but cable not support it will be longer. Normally almost 3h drom 5%

  • You barely explain properly.

  • Ok thanks, but i tried it from youtube tutorials and yours but there is none in my unit it doesent have format as sd card as internal, maybe i should try to open it in a pc but its risky ill take take it.

  • After update latest version the phone became better except when using hotspot the internet line connection cannot connect to pc and laptop

  • Dude you're the wrong one because i'm using Max Pro M1 ZB602KL it seems like you don't understand.

  • No problem

  • Lol. Are you even using 10W charger? If you using anything smaller than that like a regular 5W charger then you definitely be charging you phone over 10 hours. Btw, never ever use laptop port to charge your phone. That thing draws like 0.5A of power only. Lol.

  • Then, you on the wrong page here. This is not Zenfone 3 Max page.

  • I can't install it

  • Try Sony Music

  • My Asus Zenfone Mac Pro m1 takes 13 hours for full charged.I think their is some issue. Please rectify the same.

  • Yes me too. But now i use gcam for my asus . Better than stock camera. To many bug on my asus. Exam, i dont know why finger print scaner and face unlock sometimes not working properly. Vibrate not working, and battery is draining fast

  • I think it's asus music player from my zenfone 3 Max 5.5

  • Isn't it Google stock play music player? What you mean Asus music player?

  • Use musicolet. You'll fall in love with the music. Ads free.

  • Meh.. not replying to you anymore

  • It is fixed after clear cache partition

  • Guys i updated my Max Pro M1 last 5/31/19 it takes long to download (Android Pie 1,569.57 MB) using mobile data but WORTH it because no major issue but my asus music player stop after 1 minute everytime i use, so i need to download another music player (Music player for asus zenui) then all is good... PH...

  • Please help why the display when the phone at rest is on and off? How to fix it? Please

  • Nancaku and user1234 we use this phone differently so the battery SOT can be differently maybe you a heavy user that like to play game alot or just a user that use this phone for photography, watch YouTube etc that don't use battery a lot so the battery SOT can be different and if you don't wanna update it to pie so just don't update it.Don't say we a agent asus or something like that we just a user that have already experience with update pie and just post the opinion about the update..

  • Guy what music player should I use?it very bored to use google play music..it don't have dark theme

  • Are U stupid or what ? I said with Oreo I get 4 hour SOT with 71 % battery left or 29% battery usage. Please read carefully what I write. I also can get 14 hour SOT with 95% battery usage with Oreo. Why I should update to Pie. I believe U are Asus agent try to persuade Max Pro M1 user to update

  • Did you not get what i said?? I said I got 4 hours SOT of equivalent of 29% of battery usage. And I still get 71% battery after 4 hours of SOT. I DID NOT say that I got 4hours SOT from 71% battery usage. Good for you that you can get 8-9 hours sot! I am just sharing my experience of the new update. Yesterday got 11 hours sot from 100% to 9% of the battery. Since the oreo .327 update I havent had this much SOT

  • I can get 8-9 hour SOT with 80% battery usage, for me 4 hour SOT with 71% battery is normal.

  • Just received the Android P update which I was looking forward so much. Sadly it looks like it's made for a whole other phone. Size of the top bar (with clock & icons in it) is too big or the text/icons too small. Text & icons are too close to the sides of the phone.. I love the speed & quality of the phone but I wished I had another phone because of the OS.

  • Well, on the last 2 oreo update, I only got like 6-7 hours SOT from 100% to 20% So it is better for my phone at least

  • 4 hours SOT with 71% battery left is not impressive we can it with Oreo, if you said 6-7 hours SOT with 71% battery thats amazing

  • Seriously, the battery is really good after pie update. 4hours SOT and still has 71% battery.

  • My bad, it works

  • Just 2 apps

  • Doesnt help

  • Change the display size to small

  • How many apps you open?im wanna try

  • Every update probably must have issues.Who say this update doesnt have issues ? Either they dont know how to use the phone properly or a big liar.

  • Just found another issues (zb602 3/32gb version) Everytime switching between apps by using/swiping the pill button again and again real fast make the phone froze/hang. Later on will show message "quickstep stop working"

  • 9 hours SOT and still have 18% battery left

  • Pie update for zb602: Havent found any critical issues yet. Everything works exactly like pixel. Battery seems to be better than the last 2 oreo updates. Streaming youtube a lot and watch online movie a lot, 2hours 30 minutes only eats 20% of the battery. Speaker works great Issues found: - vibration/haptic feedback seem to be too weak. Dont feel the vibration when typing, clicking the home button and swiping up the recent apps. - cannot go to setting from the notifications bar whrn in landscape mode. The setting button on notification will be covered by the screen.

  • Nope.

  • Happy with oreo 😀

  • thanks

  • after updating to Android P, my phone become no internet data, do anyone face the same problem ? Hope asus can fix this as soon as possible.

  • Press the notification and hold until you got a option to disable it

  • How to make update notification disappear, I dont want to updated my phone (please do not question why I dont want to update)

  • Received a FOTA Update Today. Everything is smooth after update. All issues are fixed. Worthful update which fixed all pie related issue.

  • HI, I am facing the Camera issue some times my camera is not clicking the picture. give me any setting to adjust.

  • Ok then

  • To Benliee J and Cucu Tok Mat both of you are Asus hencemen. I still stick with my opinion this new update have issues. U can say what ever you want. LOL

  • Google introduced Adoptable Storage with the release of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It is a standard now on android pie. You just need to reformat the sd card inside your phone as adoptable storage. You will see something like this:

  • Ok,ill buy that reason but it says my maxpro m1 sd card is up to 1TB so maybe ill need 256 or 1TB of sd card to transfer not a lower sd card range, but thanks anyways.

  • This phone is the best in this price point. Redmi note 5 pro is offering the same specs at 11500rs and asus at 8k rs Great

  • The new second pie update has fixed it.

  • Lol it's Asus Zenfone max pro m1 zb601kl and not zb602kl even the update still on the website

  • No im just a used that write about my opinion about the update and the people say at the forum that have bug or something like that don't give more details about the bug.

  • Note: Only some variant for Global model 602KL have NFC. Apparently as per informed in the forum, Russia's variant is the one that have NFC.

  • Are you living in India or have the Indian version Max Pro M1 which is 601KL? Because Indian version don't have NFC and Global version have NFC. I believe only 601KL have issue with the update and that is why they pulled it back and put .50 instead of .53, if you read the description, it is also Android Pie.

  • Very useful, It's 100% working

  • I have no issue with my Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, I have updated it to the latest version and it is working fine with all the new feature of Android Pie.

  • Are U work for Asus or just a typical fanboys

  • Go to this link than you will know the problem of this update. Look like this update have been roll back by Asus.

  • Why do people wonder about Minecraft working or not, its a 8bit game probably runs in any android version. You use intel i9 on your phone and that Minecraft graphics wont change

  • At>that sorry typo

  • What?Im update my phone to pie and don't have any problem at all...even the battery life (for me)more longer at the oreo one

  • No lag and you can use a sharder when play Minecraft (but at 30fps above)

  • Dont updated your phone this new update have a lot of bugs. Go to Asus forum peoples complaints about this new update.

  • Btw after I update it the pubg m setting don't changed at all,it still on high and hd graphics so it good new for asus Zenfone max pro m1 (zb602kl)used.

  • After I update my phone to pie I don't have any problem at all.it more smooth and don't have any bug(for now I think).asus has add some new think on this phone like dark/light theme, changed the charge sound, change the volume position, screen shot at power button etc..

  • Asus give us late Pie update but bundle with a lot bugs. WTF ASUS

  • U can just download the update from official website if u can't wait for the Firmware On The Air (FOTA) update. Then you may just watch YouTube on how to update it using bios manually.

  • Am worst about this Google apps which supports Everything and Every App is supported by Google it's not comfortable to use Every Gallery , Contact , Usage everything is Google

  • After updated to pie, my WiFi hotspot has no internet access.

  • Install this music fx apk, Then go to play music >settings>equalizer Follow (no root required)

  • Hey bro but still there's problem with 3.5 mm audio jack. I didn't update to pie, but still theres poor audio quality. Do you know any tricks to overcome poor audio quality in ear headphones.

  • Am worst about this Google apps which supports Everything and Every App is supported by Google it's not comfortable to use Every Gallery , Contact , Usage everything is Google

  • As far as I know, transferring of apps to SD card was stopped after Android 4. It last was allowed in Android 2.3. They say they did it because internal memory is faster than external memory, but it also allowed manufacturers to create price fences with limited internal memory.

  • Reformat SD card as internal storage. Read tutorial online.

  • Android Pie update now globally available from asus.com and probably very soon through OTA :)

  • Good Day Guys,I Have A Problem With My Phone I Have Difficulty Of Transfering Applications To The Sd Card And The Youtube Tutorials Are Seen It Doesent Appear In My Phone,Anyone Can Help? Thanks.

  • ZB602KL variant still dont get Pie updates when the Android Q is in the brink of release. WTF Asus even the monthly security patch update also stall for 4 month. WTF Asus ! WTF Asus ! WTF Asus ! WTF Asus ! WTF Asus ! And I believe Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M3) will not be release at least for this year because Max Pro (M2) sales drop sharply because cannot compete with Redmi Note 7/Pro and Realme 3 Pro. WTF Asus ! WTF Asus ! WTF Asus ! WTF Asus ! WTF Asus ! GTH Asus ! GTH Asus ! GTH Asus ! GTH Asus

  • Nice Review about Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) ZB601KL/ZB602K. Just go for 'Pie', You will feel the Faster and Smooth Processing. I Liked the Pie version in this Phone.

  • 🔴If you are a pubg lover, just go for the 6 gb ram varient ( You can play in HD mode in android oreo)🔴 Review after 1 month. It has no heating issues, massive battery and over all a good performer. It is in Android oreo - android pie is available through OTA, but so many reviews says that it has some serious issues with battery and performance, so iam stick with oreo. 🔴Pros🔴: * 8 to 9 hours SOT (5000 mah battery ) supports 2A charging * You can use two jio sim cards at same time( so it supports 2 VOLTE at same time) * Good for gaming and other heavy purposes with SD 636 * speakers are very loud * It can record 4K videos * descent finger print scanner * It has notification light and front flash * Gesters are available 🔴Cons🔴 * It is running on pure android so basically you dont get ordinary functions like call recording, file manager, gallery, music player etc.. * It has 4K recording but it missses slowmotion, time laps and you cannot focus in video mode. * some bugs with headphone jack input- it takes about 4 to 6 seconds for recognise the headphone. 💚 overall it is an excellent phone for 12 k( 6 gb ram) if you concerned about battery and performance, this phone is a good choice for YOU💚

  • for me this phone still recomended atleast this phone procie use kyro not A series :v

  • From Asus Zentalk "According to our latest information, ZenFone Max Pro (ZB602KL) is expected to upgrade to Android Pie (9.0) in June. Thank you for your kind patience and support for ASUS products." WTF ZB602KL variant only to get Android Pie two month before Android Q release. Even a monthly regular update for security patch have been stall for 3 month. This is my first and last Asus phone, I opt to Xiaomi Mi Android One phone series.

  • It is not Android Pie problem, it is the new battery saving policy. You may need to go in the setting, and allow your specific apps to run in the background, so that your apps won't be automatically closed. It might be tedious for some people where it has to be manually configured.

  • It seems very nice to be a regular, daily use phone. I need a phone with good display and big battery, maybe I would pick this.

  • Send your phone to the store and have them reinstalled android Oreo. Trust me. Just stick to Oreo for this phone you won't ever get a problem. Do not be obsessed with updates. You want updates buy android one phone like Nokia and Motorola. Pixel 3a is a good starter too.

  • Redmi Note 7 Pro is not available world wide and its too have a lot of problem

  • Sorry but this phone is NO LONGER recommended this year, it has a lot of problems. And is getting old. If you want to buy a new phone I will not recommend you to buy Zenfone Max Pro M1.. There are a lot of better phone released this year such like Realme 3 / 3 Pro, Redmi Note 7 / Pro, Nokia 4.2, Infinix Hot 7 Pro etc

  • Install Microsoft SMS Organizer

  • Be careful guys. After upgrading to Android Pie i can no longer transfer money to another account and I cannot buy anything online using internet banking. Let me explain. OTP received by sms can no longer display over other app, so i have to press the square button and go to the particular sms app to read the OTP. When i go back to the bank app, it starts the app from the beginning to start all over again and again. I can't transfer any money now. I'm sad. I need a new phone.

  • It means that realme 3 is better?

  • Pubg runs properly or no

  • this phone have nfc in all variant?

  • Don't buy Asus Pro M1 if you want to play online games. It has serious latency issue you never win a single game as it got disconnected and fails to reconnect so many times. Otherwise the mobile having great battery life and with the gcam you can get very good pictures.

  • Which phone should i buy? Zenfone Max Pro M1 or Realme 3? I like gaming and photography.

  • The only native video calling app in the phone is Google Duo. Well, it is stock android. Can't blame Google for promoting their own app. I know people are expecting a video calling feature integrated in the dialer.

  • after updating call recorder app not working....

  • guys,we all are discussing about updates.nobody is talking about its hardware.hardware is super strong and can give tough compitition.i know turtlewalk in software update is not good.but just think when samsung was king how many updates were coming?one update in 2 or 3 months.actually xiaomi has change our minds lol.they gives updates every months.security patches.and we compares all brands with xaiomi.i just want to say a company worse just because of software department.hardware is very good.and yeah asus needs to add some feature like native video calling.its must.

  • It's been a year since the release date but it seems like zenfone 6 will come sooner than the pie update

  • Somebody just talk to Asus Online Customer Service and posted it on a fb group, Asus says they are not sure whether or not the Pie update will be rolling out for world wide users. I mean this is kinda joking from Asus. Worst ever phone product

  • Hello Asus agent I know you will read this, when Asus want to give ZB602KL Android Pie update ? Its already May. I thought Xiaomi software developer team is poor but Asus's is much worse.

  • asus zenfone max pro m1 Pie Update after third person app call recorder not working

  • Is minecraft working fine? No lag?

  • Really active development community on xda with plenty of pie roms. No problems so far. Great budget device with nfc and band 28.

  • So true! And M1 is still on February security level. Ok, this phone isn't Android One phone but still has stock Android with minimal differences.

  • Asus have previously promised to roll out an Android Pie update on April 15, it is already May 1 and they still have not rolling out the Pie update to the whole World Wide users. Only India and its only ZB601KL users with so many bugs. Bad service from Asus.

  • For me it's comfortable enough, but slippery if you're not using a case.

  • is max pro m1 comfortable when on the handheld ?

  • I did factory reset but after application update Gmail is disapear from the phone contact menu no option to save contact in Gmail.

  • Sum bugs in Max Pro M1 contact save problem

  • btw if you search for a mid end phone that have long battery life and gaming phone you have found it!asus Zenfone max pro m1!(I recommend you to buy the 4gb ram modal because it's have more gb rom) (really disappointed for buying 3gb ram=_=but still a ok phone) my favorite phone for now I think?? sorry for a bad English I'm still learning...

  • Thanks for the info!

  • my opinion about my phone(asus Zenfone Max pro m1 ZB602KL 3 GB ram): about camera:not that bad for the 13mp camera.don't know why people always complain about the 3Gb ram camera or it just because of the ZB601KL modal?? : don't have the time lapse mode(you actually can activate it but I don't like how to activate it)so yeah that suck :fun fact=this phone have front flash camera(for people who still don't know about it) :loved the depth effect mode about cpu:no comment about it about gpu:why my gpu is 512 adreno?and not 509 adreno? about hardware:no comment about that about battery:im play pubg at high fps and hd graphic/online game and it take about 4~5hours with 50% brightness and 75% volume to get my battery to 10% :don't play game if you battery get to 10% because the fps will get 10 fps above (don't know why) :if you play offline game like gta san or Minecraft you will get about 9 ~10hours with random brightness and random volume to get my battery to 10% about speaker:very loud :clean sound if volume at 75% :still can hear the bass at 75% changing:I don't know about this because i always charge at night touch screen\LCD:went I get my phone the touch screen have the multi touch problem but after I update it by manually it ok know(because of this I almost sell my phone- _ -) :no comment about LCD that my opinion about asus Zenfone max pro m1 (ZB602KL)3gb ram

  • I believes all Max Pro (M1) ZB602KL version (outside India) not yet receive Android Pie update, right now only Max Pro (M1) ZB601KL version in India receive it. Android Pie has been released for ZB601KL in India region. For ZB602KL, we are actively preparing and conducting tests to ensure optimized performance of the system. • Malaysia, asus m1 don't give pie update 😔 plz give ....

  • I just upgraded it to Android P. It's nice. Camera overexposed by the flash is now fixed. Ram is not optimised and the phone get hot very quickly. But don't worry Asus provides updates almost every month.

  • How to delete the downloaded android p update from phone that i dont want to install? Could not find the update file through ES explorer.

  • Music Files stored on the SD Card aren't showing up in both Default Music Player (Play Music) & Third Party Music Player Apps after Pie Update on the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1. Can anyone confirm if they are also facing this issue?

  • Agree. Not sure if this is Google stock pie problem or Asus optimization problem. It's very unstable and not well polished. Just stick to Oreo guys.

  • what's different asus m1 and m2

  • Thanks for info

  • Pie update is NOT stable yet. They promised to roll out stable by April 15. but most of users have not getting update. Glad I didnt do manual update its too many bugs. The important thing, when I talk to Asus Customer Care via Online Chat they said there will no longer Enable Camera2API as the result did not see improvement as expected. The Pie update to be re-development

  • only way is to root the device and install custom ROM

  • go ahead with update if you are not gamer, pubg freezing issue and low sound issues after pie update

  • I updated to pie and now I regret it. Too many bugs. PUBG HD Mode is gone.. Any way to revert back to Oreo?

  • Whats wrong with Android Pie update ? If Pie have to many problems I will pass it. User in Malaysia still not receive it yet.

  • dont update to pie, pie is not as good as OREO, i regret after updating, will be rooting my device soon, PUBG freezes like hell after update

  • Been waiting for 3 months for my slice of pie. Why is it taking it so long to reach my country?

  • Can anyone tell me please where is the auto answer settings for hadefone and Bluetooth .

  • Does the phone have passive cooling? cause I play games alot and I don't want it throttling

  • what else can u expect from a phone with good specs at a low price receiving pie the screen brightness has decreased . in oreo the screen was bright enough at even 10% i have moto g5 plus even at 6% the screen has excellent brightness in a room its not asus fault, pie itself is not as good as oreo, oreo is not as good as nougat but still i hope they fix all the bugs ASAP in coming updates

  • No reading mode after pie.

  • Tbh, android pie itself is not well polished. I saw the android pie on Pixel phone as well it look the same in most part. The only differences is Max Pro M1 have a little bit less feature because its not a flagship. I don't like android pie generally. The gesture control is not as smooth as I thought it would be. The iphone implementation is still better. Doing split screen now require more steps compare to Oreo. Icons now too colourful in settings and everything is enlarged. Look cartoonish. The top part of notification bar is black out when you pulls it down. This is due to android pie optimized for notch phone but not for regular phone. The only things I like is dark mode, digital wellbeing and screenshot shortcut using power key only. The rest still feel like it need a lot of improvement. If you coming from android oreo the visual changes will make you feel like it has become busier.

  • when i unlock my device, it goes black suddenly. There is no problem if i keep the phone locked. Please help me to solve this issue

  • Update is good. You can go for it. Everything is smooth as usual on 6gb model of ASUS. Recommended to Wipe Cache Partition.

  • I jst upgraded to 9.0 pie Very nyc update Fon became fast.. Some visual changes. Battery stays now little long. Setting items theme is still in white mode which is disappointed.. Time moved left but rest item became little tiny .. Bad thing is blue light filter have gone in dis update ... Over all nice update...

  • I got pie update yesterday. It's more like beta version.

  • Still no native call regarding/screenshot/video calling, earlier version is better

  • Just a notice to Max Pro M1 users, your phone is upgradable to stable android Pie now. It is rolling slowly so be patient.

  • 10-04-2019 - MAJOR ANDROID OS UPDATE!! A new and major FOTA update has been rolling out to Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (both ZB601KL and ZB602KL) on 10/04/2019. The complete changelog (provided by Asus) is given below : Build No. : 16.2017.1903.050 Update Size : 1552.1 MB (From Oreo) & 392.54 MB (From Pie Beta) Changelog : 1. Upgrade Android version to Android 9.0 Pie. 2. Update Google security patch to March 2019. Since the server pushes update notice to different serial numbers by batches, it may take some days for you to receive the FOTA notice. In the meantime, you may tap “System update” in [Settings] >>[System] to check if there is new firmware available. Or, you can also try to manually update the firmware by referring to the following link : Asus ZenTalk Forum Link : TBA Since it is a major Android OS version upgrade, a full backup and reset is suggested after updation. Everyone please provide the feedback of the update after installing - if it is a useful update☺️ or if it introduced new set of bugs😡.. Copy & Paste from XDA Forum

  • Not only the LTE but also the signal of this phone is weak. Or maybe the network in here? try this *#*#4636#*#* ther you can see that when every time i chose the LTE only. Option it does not locked on LTE ONLY. I think i just to have to research some more or maybe the latest update of this phone will fix this. Sorry for my Grammar.

  • Hi Vinz, may I know the exact LTE problem you are facing. Thank you.

  • Yes, you need to download the call recorder app to record all your call transaction on you phone.

  • Hello everyone. In this asus does anybody know call recorder system inbuilt or not ?? Or have to download recorder application ?

  • Try reinstalling your fingerprint on the fingerprint scanner. And try to add maybe 2-3 fingerprints. So when it does not recognize your pointy finger maybe you can use the others. Also. There's a 3 way to access your phone security. 1.) Buy providing password or a pattern, 2.) The fingerprint scanner. 3.) Face unlock. Restarting your smartphone is required even once a week. So just bear rebooting your phone every week. I hope it helps

  • Easy solution, use your warranty card get a new replacement. Your device is faulty from day one it seem.

  • you are the only one

  • I am facing issue with finger print scanner on my Asus zenfone max pro m1 from the day I purchased. After using around 3 to 4 days, the finger print scanner stops working and then I only have option to restart the phone and after restart, finger print scanner again starts working but then same issue occurs after 3/4 days again. So other also observing same issue or I am the only one having this issue?

  • I hope they fix the LTE problem of this phone here in the Philippines.

  • I mean Android Q or Android 10 not Pie. AZMPM1 will get it Asus have comfirm this but as usual will get late from others.

  • Really? Or did you mean Pie? Well, if it gets Q then hats off to Asus...but first let's just wait for Pie update which should be right around the corner.

  • Where you download it do not download on 3rd party apk store because it carry virus me I Don have problems with my honkai impact download very smooth

  • Yes its worth to buy. Asus has confirm Max Pro M1 will get Android Q.

  • Asus reduce the price now for 4/64 MPM1 is around $138 in Indonesia is it still worth to buy? Will they bring Android Q update to this phone?

  • Android pie coming on 15th April. Hope no more delay.

  • Same. Sometimes 3 hours. Maybe we need to turn off the phone. At least I got 16 hours SOT. I can't complain.

  • Asus say it take 2 hour 42 minute to full charge. My experience from 15% to 80% take 2 hour and 80% to 100% around 45 minutes. Charges with original charger. Never get 2 hour 15 minutes.

  • 10% to 80% takes like 1 hour , sometime 1 hour and 15 minutes

  • No. It take around 3 hour to charge from 5% to 100%.

  • does fast charging really working? How long it took from 5% to 100%

  • Haha! If it was about ZTE, Alcatel or Lenovo, then your question would be more appropriate ;)

  • Yes!!!! But, do you know the year!!!? LOL

  • Don't forget that they get lower prices In europe note 7 costs more than note 7 pro in india

  • Yes I also noticed it, Indian always get lower specs than the global. Not only for this phone but others like Redmi.

  • That is interesting. I see. Why India always get lower specs? Even the Redmi Note 7 there released with 12mp camera instead of 48mp. So strange. Cost cutting specifically only in India?

  • Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 basically have 2 version ZB601KL for India and ZB602KL for global. The different is about camera aperture and pixels size. ZB601KL (Indian Version) For 3GB and 4GB main camera (rear) it get dual 13 MP, f/2.2, 25mm, PDAF 5 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor and for selfie camera (front) it get 8 MP, f/2.2, 26mm For 6GB main camera (rear) it get 16 MP, f/2.0, PDAF 5 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor and for selfie camera (front) it get 16 MP. ZB602KL (Global version) For 3GB main camera (rear) it get dual 13 MP, f/2.2, 25mm, PDAF 5 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor and for selfie camera (front) it get 8 MP, f/2.2, 26mm For 4GB and 6GB main camera (rear) it get dual 16 MP, f/2.0, PDAF 5 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor and for selfie camera (front) it get 16 MP. From the comment that have been post here, I believe ZB601KL (Indian version) for 3GB and 4GB may have some problem on camera.

  • What version are yours? I'm actually amazed the Malaysian 4GB ram version comes with 16mp camera front and back. I heard its better than the normal global version.

  • That what Asus said. Before they said will get on February. I believe it probably more late than April maybe on Q3 or Q4 this year because Asus always give late update on Android version for their midrange phone. How about regular update for March ? Do we will get it or not ?

  • Change your wallpaper to any dark coloured one. It will automatically change to dark theme.

  • How to make app background Black in color. Similar to what is shown in GSM preview ?

  • Android Pie update coming by April 15th!

  • Some times pics clicked are weird Its green or broken I had recently purachsed and am wondering is there a problem with the camera

  • 👎nope😈 no smartphone is perfect. Every smartphone has bugs but there are really not 1 million bugs in max pr o m1 and literally im not facing any major irritating bugs. So don't fed up with people's mind.

  • Can anyone show me how to focus manually on video recording mode?

  • Just another hater and troll. Millions has used this phone and not facing that problems.

  • It is not a phone.rather a box of bugs.if you want raise your blood pressure then buy this phone.. it's name should have been _ASUS ZENFONE MAX PRO BUGS M1* here "M1" STANDS FOR 1 MILLION BUGS...

  • Just another hater and troll. Millions has used this phone and not facing that problems.

  • The worst phone. and i regret sold my OPPO A3S for this shit.it's good looking but.....Can not receive message, sucks camera, no tempered glass, standard battery. help

  • 13000 what? INR? PKR? PHP? If you want cheapest possible phone with good specs, Vivo Y91C is what I recommend. It has good battery and performance is still good enough to handle PUBG on low to balanced/medium graphics.

  • The answer is yes and I already updated my Zenfone Max Pro M1 with new update for 3 day so far no issue. After updating are recommended to wipe the cache partition this for maintaining battery performances.

  • And before the firmware update, asus head chief says it can handle pubg for 10 hours from 100 to 5 %, now it only 6 to 5 hours of pubg gameplay, That is bug on the firmware, there is a lot of bug in this phone. Thats way so many firmware update from asus. Its not stable

  • Guys plz suggest a mobile with Good battery backup.... No heating issues... Good camera.... Not for gaming... Best for office use... Fast processing.. Mobile below 13000.. Plz

  • Android pie is taking too long

  • is it worth installing? a newbie on asus, my iphone need 2nd update fix first update that all this year mostly contain bugs from first update (so I always skip 1st update), at motorola first update is stable (2nd stable is sony, source GSMA)

  • It show that people never appreciate what ASUS is doing. At least Android Pie is in the process of making into the Max Pro M1, it is already better than nothing.

  • Go to Settings>Display or Battery>Turn off "Auto-brightness".

  • They are making fool with providing beta version of Android P

  • with same intense light, screen goes bright and soft it self, any trick to fix this?

  • Official Android pie beta has been released :>

  • I own Asus zenfone max pro m1 since 3 months. Here's my opinion... 1. Display is beautiful definately better than redmi note 5 pro(my friend own redmi) 2. Speaker is loud but sound quality from them is just average. 3. Camera ok in daylight but poor in dark but most importantly camera app UI is one of the worst. 4. Batterylife is really really good.while browsing more than 10 hours of on screen time.in PUBG almost 6-7 hours of continuous gameplay with single full charge. 5. Gaming no issues.PUBG runs smoothly I've played in HD with high frame rate but still run smoothly. 6. Software side software contain some bugs like sometimes camera app crashes.general UI is responsive no big issues but in my opinion UI animations are slightly heavy so tuned them down to 0.5x from Developer Settings after this UI is fluid. 7. Fingerprint reader is slower and quite frequently fails to register my fingers. 8. Android 9.0 is coming to this but when noone knows for sure.Asua cant keep its promise up to date.

  • A new FOTA update has been rolling out to Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (both ZB601KL and ZB602KL) on 27/02/2019. The complete changelog (provided by Asus) is given below : Build No. : 15.2016.1902.340 Update Size : 432.45 MB Changelog : 1. Update Google security patch to February 2019. 2. Update GMS version to 8.1_2018-12. 3. Improve camera app translation issue. Since the server pushes update notice to different serial numbers by batches, it may take some days for you to receive the FOTA notice. In the meantime, you may tap “System update” in [Settings] >>[System] to check if there is new firmware available. Or, you can also try to manually update the firmware by referring to the following link : Asus ZenTalk Forum Link : Everyone please provide the feedback of the update after installing - if it is a useful update☺️ or if it introduced new set of bugs😡.. At last an update even without Android Pie. Copy and Paste from XDA Developer Forum

  • No one is going to believe your nonsense. Next time make a believable fake review. Thanks.

  • So, end up the Android system after long maintained will be the same and only version, the hardware on these smartphone are differed slightly. Even the same SD636 SoC might be manufactured by different vendor, the quality of different vendor vary slightly here and there. So, that is why some smartphone eventhoght also equipped with SD636 can be cheap, some can be more expensive, it might lie in the quality of the components chosen. Back to Android OS, there are still more works from Google to improve the OS. It is getting better and better now, but without those old bugs, and those early hardware, we won't get what we have today. So, appreciate what ASUS and Google team has done to work out the updates.

  • There might also question by after updates, some phone has issue, this has to discuss on semiconductor and production. By common, we expect each smartphone of the same model is the same. In actual, each component from phone to phone differ slightly, and this is where the problem comes, where the turning parameter at some phone might already hit the limits for particular hardware, so it will cause malfunction. So, bug fix is need to retune on certain parameter that might hit limits on some device. Not every device of the same model are made totally equal, and these slight different in quality actually made the fine tuning and tweaking much mode difficult. There is also smartphone that is installed with parts from different vendor that will also cause the issue. Take for LCD screen, despite it look the same for the same models, the sold units might be installed with screen sourced from more than 1 vendors. The different source screen might cause trouble in the updates if not carefully tweak for different sourced model.

  • I going to talk about the Android version updates, not specifically for this phone, but from a developer point of view, and manufacturer point of view. I am not working for smartphone development, but I am a software developer that work for product development, but not in the smartphone field, but the principle of software still the same. Regarding why many phone cannot get latest Android version updates, or even no updates, by comparing to Windows operating system, I would say Android OS is still very young, and still evolving. To make sure an OS can be installed on many platform, it is the software engineer that have to make sure it can be installed without bugs. But in the real world, this is actually untrue. Many of the hardware actually is incompatible to each others, these hardware doesn't always follow the same standard, and no proper general standard is made. So, as each manufacturer use different hardware, when the original Android OS is incompatible, then manufacturer have to tweak the Android OS for their selected hardware, and this tweaking can take weeks to months, can be quite complex. Take for example, to this date, there are 4 big mobile platform SoC: 1. Qualcomm Snapdragon series 2. Samsung Exynos series 3. Huawei HiSilicon Kirin series 4. Mediatek Helio series All these SoC need customize tweak for reducing and eliminating bugs and error, despite all license ARM architecture, all implement the architecture with different customization. The same apply where inside these SoC series, there are low end, midrange and high end SoC, that also need special tuning so that on low end SoC, thing will still work smoothly. All these tweaking and tuning take times, and it is human, the engineers that tweak and tune. This involve quite amount of cost for human resource for maintaining certain model. So, that's why for low end model, the cost price already very low, manufacturer can't afford to allocate resource for maintaining the device if the sales is not good for particular model. They likely aim to start a new platform model and develop from there which at least promise more sales and more earning. So, there is a reason why Oneplus can update their smartphone Android OS so fast, simply because they works like Apple iPhone, sold expensive models, and just 1 or 2 model yearly, then only need to maintain at much 2 models per a new year. For every other brand, flagship model get the priority for updates, then only slowly comes to mid range and lower range model. All in all, all updates actually come in price, the Android OS might be free, but the job to get it tweaked and comply is not free, there is a maintenance and development cost involve. Well, at least this Zenfone Max Pro M1 will be getting Android Pie update, it is slow, but I think all worth the wait. Of course, won't expect magic to happen. Even though Android Pie will be updated, it won't make this phone out perform high end phone, it's optimization will be maxed out at it's hardware limits. So normally, to get a better performing smartphone, buying new model is the only solution, because upgrading in hardware will increase performance much faster than optimizing software, because smartphone is improving on hardware too, not just software.

  • I came from an iPhone SE and this is my mini review: - Battery is great. A full day and a half with intense use or two days with moderate use. A large battery make a huge difference in your life if your use your phone to work and study like me. - It's not AMOLED but the screen it's one if the best I've ever seen on an LCD Android. Blacks are blacks, not grey. Also it's very bright. - The so is responsive with enough multitasking for a normal user. - Charger and earphone sucks. I'm keeping my Apple earbuds. - Camera it's good on bright environments and just "ok" at low light. Camera app it's buggy and ugly. Install Google Camera to have an 50% improvent in quality! - The phone is sturdy and well built. Design is subjective but I like the sober design choice here. - I don't game but performance it's good without any hiccups on day to day tasks. - The glass is fingerprint resistant, with a smooth and quality feel - Fingerprint reader is 100x faster than my iPhone SE. Even with sweety fingers like mine. - Sound is super LOUD on the speaker and kind of low on the headphones. - Call quality it's good. This phone it's such a bang for the buck. Thank you Asus!

  • y should we stop complaining if u r satisfied with this phone next time buy max m2 also

  • Zenfone M1 is best phone ever, i get 3 days battery, it has 5000 mah. Great display full hd screen, 85% sRGB color gamut, bright 450 nits screens. For best photos download google pixel camera app. The phone is very sturdy and has great performance Snapdragon cpu, very smooth. And stop complaining those who faced small issues, this phone is very low priced, even cheaper than iphone x battery.

  • Yes are absolutely correct. Utterly waste Phone.........No proper response.....

  • Asus where is Android Pie update for this phone ? February almost end and nothing happens, not a regular updates have being receives.

  • Don't buy this phone, because asus zenfone max pro m1 contain fully bugs. 1. Touch sensitivity issue,2.battery drain,3. Average camera performance etc...

  • whats the use of android one or stock android devices if the update comes so late marketing strategy.. the even released m2 on oreo..such a joke

  • Asus is shameless brand because they had promised that they will definitely give android pie update on Asus Zenfone max Pro m1 in February and when we ask them when it will be released they simply it is under testing and 6 months later when we ask whe android pie update for Asus Zenfone max Pro m1 will be released they answered same that is it is under testing

  • Regarding the Android Pie updates, this is a tricky question, and also a obvious one. 1st, this is not the Android One smartphone, so expected the update will be slow, even if the phone sport a pure Android UI, which doesn't translate to say update will be better. I would say even Android One device also struggle to get update, indeed much slower than device such as Google Pixel. 2nd, this is not a flagship device. This is quite controversial and also happen on all non-flagship device on all other brand, not just ASUS, especially this phone is an entry level budget phone, then the priority to get Android version update will be much lower. Next time, only buy something from Google Pixel, then also consider Oneplus if you really want fast Android updates, but those won't come to the price of Max Pro M1, basically is 3 to 4 times more expensive. Then, next time also consider only buy the flagship phone from specific brand that will get prioritize to get the update faster. Lastly, only buy from brand that has reputation to roll out fast Android updates on flagship device. Well, I sound like apologist for this brand, but nope. I actually own before other budget smartphone from other brand as well (Xiaomi, Samsung, HTC, Sony, LG, Honor, Huawei, Meizu), and it is the common fate for budget phone that doesn't get Android version updates, or barely any updates at all after long time usage, I know the feel of waiting for update, but it always doesn't come. All in all, Android version update comes in price, much bigger price than you think. The only alternative to get latest Android version for budget Android smartphone is to flash custom ROM.

  • When Asus will release Android Pie update for Zenfone Max Pro M1? Asus has promised to release on Feb. From 6 months Asus is testing android pie, while other company already released android pie. As it is nearly stock so the update should come faster than others but Asus doesn't believe in customer satisfaction.

  • The february nearing ends but till now Asus still dont give us any update, this is weird. I dont think Asus will give us Android Pie this month because there is no beta update for it. Just give us a regular update including security patch that enough for now.

  • Yes almost same with mine

  • My Max Pro M1 charge time from 15% to 100% take 2 hour 45 minutes. For Screen On Time(SOT) with 20% brightness and internet (70% wifi, 30% 4G LTE simcard broadband) I can get around 9 hour SOT with 85% battery usage. Roughly with 1 cycle battery charge I can use my phone for 3-4 day. I dont play game with my phone.

  • takes 3.30 hours to charge and gives just 5.30 hours screen on time for 25 hrs use... so honestly its not an battery centric phone dont believe others comments.... battery performance is tooo bad on this

  • I've a plan to buy this phone, but I hv some questions for mpm1 users here 1. if i left this phone (no connection open) for 6 hours, how much % the battery drain? 2. how long it's bttery last if I use it for browsing (n soc med) only? n when it's used for gaming 3. is there any problematic bugs in this phone? (ex. force close app, freeze, etc) 4. how is this phone if used to play MOBA n PUBG? 5. is it still hv ringtone problem? (no sound when someone calling) 6. is there any problem when installing or playing FGO JP? (pls answer if u play it) thanks for anyone who answer my questions here

  • Buy a true gaming phone such as Razer Phone 2 and ROG phone then compare about that. Yes, I do believe there are grade different between touch screen sensitivity on different grade of glass and touch sensor, that's is also why gamer always look for the highest end gadget so that non of these hardware limitation affect the gaming experience. You can always upgrade the hardware if it is a PC, but no, you can't do anything to a smartphone as you can't upgrade it, only option is to buy other phone. There are still no proper online review on measuring how sensitivity of a smartphone touch screen, response time lag, and also precision of certain smartphone touch screen.

  • Just only 1 messenger Apps got this echo issue? Other apps such as voice call, voice recording, or any other messenger call don't has this issue?

  • I have a problem with the phone when someone calls through messenger. The caller says there's an echo. I don't hear any echo on my side but they hear an echo on theirs. Its pretty annoying for them cus while they talk they hear their echo which disrtacts them. Even when I wear my earphones they still hear their echo. I've cleared the cache on messenger and restarted the phone, but their is still an echo. Please help me with these issue. So far, that's the only issue I've got with this phone.

  • No. There is emergency call for emergency when you are not in range of your signal of cellular. If you touch or click that emergency call. Will display dial pad

  • Hold power button and volume down button at the same time

  • The game works well on my phone and I downloaded from the Play Store. Have you tried clearing data and cache of Play Store?

  • Maybe bug for play store

  • Help a fellow gamer. How do I download Honkai Impact 3? There's always an error around 70-80% download progress. Is it because the specs of the phone doesn't match the game's requirements? Pls help. I really wanna play the game. I don't want to download from random apk sites. So help.

  • Are you using two sim card? I think it only appears when you don't have a sim card on. If you do, your airplane mode must be on.

  • Fingerprint sensor not working properly & facing connectivity problem too after software update.

  • I know that multitouch bug in Oreo update has been fixed in this phone and I'm not facing that issue. It's a different problem. My firmware is up to date. If you're an extensive PUBG Player, only then you'll realise this issue otherwise in normal day to day usage, you won't notice this. The touch panel is of lower grade in this phone which causes the touch to move away slightly from the aim when throwing grenade or opening scope pointing at enemies in PUBG. This is my only complaint against this phone otherwise everything is superb.

  • That the multitouch issue from the stock android bug itself. Google already resolved the issue with update. All android one phone also faced those problem long time ago. You didnt update your phone firmware after you bought it?

  • This is my second Zenfone Max Pro M1 (Metallic Blue). I sold the first one due to poor touch screen quality. It was of grey colour. I'm facing the same problem in the second one too. I've the 3GB/32GB Variant. When playing PUBG, especially when throwing grenade or scoping in, the touch flickers and the aim goes somewhere else. This makes gameplay frustrating. Although this phone is very much capable of running PUBG in HD Mode, the touch screen is of lower grade and is not very sensitive which ruins the PUBG gameplay for me. I bought this phone esp to play PUBG but I'm disappointed. Avoid this phone if PUBG is your thing. I'm now looking to get this piece of trash exchanged with any phone that can run PUBG in Ultra FPS while also having a super sensitive and responsive touchscreen.

  • When update release for negative video calling option for jio user, it's very too late for asus users. If it is continue asus lose the customers. Now a days so many users using jio video calling option so keep in mind.

  • The touch screen quality very worse. Wondering it's purposely make it like that during optimization. Inaccurate touch response can be delay in game and over response sometime

  • My Asus Max pro m1 shows a notification every few minutes saying -no emergency calling, not supported by network at your locatiin, it's getting annoying, pls help fix

  • This phone was suck .... After you update this phone you will face charging problem

  • Mine is fine. Controls were bugged a few months ago but they've already been fixed.

  • when i play PUBG Mobile in medium quality this game has problem with graphics and controls.

  • Correction: (at least the *3GB variant)

  • I carefully checked 100+ phones and I found that Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 & M2 are best phones in their price range. Their only rival is Redmi Note 7 but it's still below M1 & M2 in some aspects. Note 7 has SD 660 which is better than M1's SD 636, but their performance in PUBG is still equal or M1 gives slightly better performance. M1 also has better battery (7 hours in PUBG) than Note 7 (4.5-5 hour in PUBG) and costs less. But note that M1 (at least the 4GB variant) suffers minor lags if you use a screen recorder app while playing PUBG on HD Graphics & High Frame Rate. I don't know if Note 7 and M2 can manage to run smoothly with that kind of load but I hope so because both of them have SD 660. As M2 has better Chipset (SD 660) than M1 (SD 636), I'm expecting its performance in PUBG to be even better than M1 & Note 7. Note 7 already has Pie OS while M1 & M2 will get Pie OS this February, so that minor advantage will be overcome as well. However, Note 7 has MIUI which puts extra load on the phone and shows Ads, making the phone's performance and battery timing lower, and may take up extra storage as well. While M1 & M2 run on Stock Android which is a big advantage - no extra load on the phone, better battery, more storage and stability. So even while running on Oreo, M1 & M2 are already better in terms of software than Note 7 which runs on Pie. M1 is one of the only phones that can play PUBG smoothly at High Graphics, High Frame Rate on Snapdragon 636. I believe it owes it to its Kernel configuration and Stock Android. The built quality of both M1 & M2 is spectacular. They were dropped 6 times from 6 feet above at all angles except corners on a tiled floor. M1 was *perfectly fine* while M2 had a tiny scratch at the corner but that's all the harm it got. They aren't water proof but they were placed in water for 1 minute and still worked perfectly fine after drying.

  • They said February from what I know.

  • When you need exclusive software buy LG and sammy. Price wont lie, motorola instal hi end sensors thats why engineers use it for reliable tools measure engineer stuff. Asus is ballance enough for price

  • When it will happen ? Before this they said Max Pro M2 will get Android Pie by January 2019 but till now nothing happen.

  • Asus announced both M1 & M2 will get Pie update. =)

  • Don't worry, its performance is actually quite extra ordinary! I couldn't find any other phone in this price range nor this Chipset that can run PUBG at High Graphics smoothly. Majority of phones with Adreno 510 & 512, 530 lag in PUBG on Balanced Graphics while this runs PUBG smoothly on High! Note that this phone has Adreno 509. Its main competitors are Max Pro M2 & Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 that cost higher but have Adreno 512. Note 7 has Pie but that doesn't mean it gives better performance. Performance is greatly dependent on the chipset and something called "Kernel", which determines whether the phone is focused on battery savings, multitasking or gaming. Asus sets up its Kernel in a way that's more suited for heavy *Foreground* activity like gaming. Also, Note 7 has MIUI which means that unlike with Stock Android, your game will get less Chipset power and you'll have to see ads. Stock android doesn't have any unnecessary tasks consuming your Chipset's power which makes it more battery friendly & provide better performance. That being said, there is still the difference of Adreno 509 vs 512 which is significant (512 is better). There are hardly any other Adreno 509 phones that can run PUBG at even Medium Graphics smoothly. I couldn't find any major issues in the phone except that some people said it's camera quality is just satisfactory. Battery lasts around 2 days with heavy usage and build quality is top notch. I saw a reviewer drop this phone from all angles except corners on tiled floor from 6 feet above. It didn't have a single crack. He even put M1 & M2 in water for 1 minute and they still worked fine after drying. Neither of these phones are waterproof.

  • You can try gcam pixel3 mod. It takes better pictures compare with stock camera app. It also works after camera2api enabled. You can download it from here.

  • Thank you.but i am still annoying about the update but if it is has good performance in stock android i think i dont have to update it. Is there Some other issue about stock android?

  • Yup. I checked YouTube videos for gaming reviews. Watch the camera recorded ones because screen recording apps can be too much load and make it lag if the game is too heavy. This phone can run PUBG at High Graphics butter smooth. Mobile Legends isn't much of a heavy game so that'll be a walk in park for it. Even Adreno 308 can play Mobile Legends fine on low graphics, but not PUBG/Rules of Survivors.

  • Is this worth buying in playing heavy games and online games like Mobile legend and R.O.S i am a vivo user and i want to try asus zenfone max pro m1.. I read that there is a issue in updating software. If i buy in feb. I think i dont want to update it.

  • agreed!

  • i have honor play also this mobile is complete value for money

  • The sim card tray is at the left side of the phone. Use the pin provided in the phone box and push the pin in the hole, the sim card tray will pop out. Then just place your micro SD card(if you have) and your NANO size sim card in the tray. Then insert back the tray. That's all :/

  • Jus bought the cell but insertion of sim looks complicated... Need suggestions

  • I think they improve the battery drain on this update instead they improve and fix it and also the network connection problem,I'm done with this phone full of bugs.

  • if anyone knows about native video calling through jio to jio. i am not able to do video call

  • Wipe cache partition will not delete any data on the phone. but it seem useless because I have done it and no improvement on battery.

  • i too updated. already my phone battery is performing very bad. now also no improvement. is wipe cache partion process delete any of my phones data? please conform

  • This update make battery worse, drain like hell, drain 1% perhour on standby mode with wifi and data off and battery saver on. Drain 8-10% perhour when casual browsing with wifi and brightness 10% (not streaming online). Wipe cache partition have been done but no improvement on battery. Must got bugs with this updates

  • just now updated the phone its around 410mb. previously my had a very bad battery backup. i dont know whether this improve the battery life or not?

  • Yeah i did. I am able to use gcam now

  • Really ? I feel battery drain fast

  • battery life increased after the new update.:-)

  • How about this update ? Does it improved the phone or make things worsed ? How about battery endurance and efficiency still the same or worsed after updating ?

  • Review says 'Low-light image quality is decent if not impressive' but Verdict/Cons 'Average lowlight camera quality' )))

  • My phone volume very low pls help after update

  • No call recording option.please update with call recorder

  • It's a brand new one, doesn't even listed in 'Release Notes' on ZenTalk.

  • Dont get it yet, maybe in 2 or 3 day.

  • did anyone update? Version: WW-15.2016.1901.339 Improve Items: 1.Update Google security patch. 2.Optimize system stability 3.Fix Garmin watch pairing issue

  • Yes even not root with condition not with FOTA update. When we buy a new phone it come with default ROM with no update. If U want the past update U must do it manually, download any update U like from Asus website and install it via PC.

  • You will be updated to the latest version (currently is 338). If you are asking to update to certain specific version, it is currently impossible unless you are rooted. And by March this phone should be updated to android pie.

  • You can port using pc

  • Have you enabled camera2 api?

  • If i buy zenfone m1 in march,i can get the past updates?

  • I installed google cam and i don't see much difference from pre installed camera app and portrait is bad on gcam 2 that i installed. Please help.

  • They said Feb 2019

  • 10 hours music player with Bluetooth, only consume 30% battery, amazing

  • android 9 ?

  • No it wont delete any files and dont need to back up your data.

  • does this process delete any files in my phone? am i need to backup my data?

  • You can't format sd card as internal storage in this phone which is a native feature of stock android from marshmallow.they should fix it immediately, lack of this feature 3/32gb model is horrible.

  • The easy answer why people love stock android is because of bloatware. Yeah, bloatware everywhere and uninstallable apps that already took up memory storage more than you could use. It cause phone to become laggy overtime as some of those undeletable apps running in the background unless you know how to disable it. Custom android also bloated with features. The more feature rich, the more space it took up and the more things the processor need to deal with. In turn, manufacturer gives you more ram and more storage not because for better offering but to make those bloatware they installed less significants. Stock android offer a clean slate. A fresh blank canvas. Fast buttery smooth experience as long as you keep it simple. Less is more.

  • Stock Android rules! At least to those of us that know how to use it. There are very few phones out there having the same Chipset that can rival this phone. Sony Xperia X, Xiaomi redmi note 5 Pro, 5AI, 6 Pro, HTC 10 Lifestyle - this phone outperforms all of them and is much cheaper & over all better. It can run PUBG at *High graphics* without lag. Something that very few phones in this price range or Chipset can do. Stock Android definitely plays a role in it. The other phones I mentioned can't play PUBG smoothly in higher than Balanced graphics & some of them can only run smoothly at low graphics. Stock Android does play a role in it. Its main competitors are Zenfone Max Pro M2 & Redmi Note 7. If you like bloatware or fancy stuff, download launchers or flash ROMs or something. Why waste your money by ditching a great phone just to buy a more expensive, lower performance phone?

  • In my opinion and current Max Pro M1 holder. If I were you I would wait for redmi note 7 and see how it is doing. It's spec is better and cost cheaper.

  • Who is using this phone? Is this a reliable phone that can last a few years?

  • what the android stock is the...and not heavy after recreate like asus system and same as the other. and are you already use the android stock?..

  • This not the problem of asus it is the problem of stock android I don't like stock android because it lacks a lot of useful features you can just do the basics I hate when most of youtubers start praising stock android and saying that it's mature enough it is not it is still dump and unuseful the only good thing about stock android is when you change a phone you don't have to adopt to the new softaware this will make reviewing the phone easier But I personnally love when I buy a new phone and I start discovering the new features I'm glad that other brands didn't start using stock android and that they are still using their own skins

  • Wait there will be great phones launching from realme and redmi

  • Buy Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2 come with SD660 and Adreno 512, please dont buy Redmi/Xiaomi it will make you regret if you done it.

  • Go for Realme 2 Pro or Redmi note 7. Adreno 512 could handle 3D graphics better than Adreno 509.

  • Great phone, for budget-midrange phone. Though out of box the phone just Like a baby its pure and lack of features. But the update slowly fix things up and the phone is great now. The problem i had only it doesnt read 5ghz wifi, only 2,4ghz, I know the soc support it, hope the devs fix this And also it only support green and red led notify, and normal flash.

  • Then go for oneplus

  • Should I buy this phone or not? I want good quality as I don't want to buy a new phone in at least 2 years & I like to play heavy games like MMORPGs (Crusaders of Light, Darkness Rises). Please help me...

  • update it till 334 it will be good its written on asus website (Improve power consumption issue) either download full firmware and install it with full formatting the phone then it may be good to use.

  • either use sim toolkit to disable the pop for which service it shows or if its showing area name & all goto settings-apps&notifications and when u go down there is emergency alerts in that disable all broadcasts option

  • If i downgrade the firmware to 305, will the battery be the same like before? I used 338 firmware now, the battery is reduce not like before i updated, and the phone feels warm even when i used wifi without inserting sim card, and just playing facebook and clash royale just for an half an hour, the update of firmware in this phone make the battery weaker and weaker by the time. I just bought this phone for 1 month as second driver

  • Go back to your old phone if you too dumb to use this good phone. You maybe Samsung, Apple or Xiaomi fanboys who try to contaminated this phone reputations. For your acknowledgement I throw my Samsung A6+ and Xiaomi Mi Max 2 phone to dustbin after I bought this phone because believe both phone are trash.

  • How to do wipe cache partition ? This is how to do it:- First make sure the Asus Zenfone Max M1 battery is sufficient. Turn off Asus Zenfone Max M1. Press and hold the Volume Down + Power button. after the android logo appears release the power button and keep press / hold down the volume button until the recovery mode appears.

  • thanks for your reply. i did factory data reset 2 times but no improvement. i donw know about wipe cache partion. is that wipe cache clean required because already did factory data reset. if yes please tell how to do that?

  • delete wipe data cache partition and also when you play pubg switch on battery saver mode and increase the brightness to 75% ( i prefer 60% ) . the battery backup is not as good as it used to be before any updates, but its not that bad either, its giving a backup like 4010mah battery

  • battery is draining, it was best when there was no update in the begining, but its not that bad currently but noticible

  • very sad your review shows that you dont know how to use a smartphone. go and get apple or samsung.

  • Its bugs try this it may help, wipe cache partition

  • Never go by reviews and marketing hype. ASUS is a company which is totally blind to user feed back and sells crap by creating hype. I bought Zenfone Max Pro M1 last September after reading the reviews but to my dismay discovered that the phone does not support even the basic features available in all of the much more cheaper phones also. For Example: 1. Operator video calls - not available - initially there was a workaround but the foolish company disabled even that in the subsequent update in November 2018 - so instead to providing functionality it disabled the one which was available - though after some tweaking. No updates and no promises from ASUS after that. They force you to use DUO - for video calling - but it uses data and the called party must also be using duo - else u cannot make video calls. 2. The dumb phone does not support multiple user profiles on phone - although it is a standard feature of stock android after Lollypop version. 3. It has dual sim dual standby dual volte - but does not have a simple thing like dual ring tones for dual sims - such a basic feature. The list can go on and on - but the dumb company is neither listening nor providing any solutions. On the contrary it is making the phone dumber and dumber - - may be useful only for simple vanilla voice calling. Why spend so much for such a useless piece of equipment? I have dumped the phone as well as the branch - for ever - to where it belongs - the dustbin.

  • I am getting pop-ups of Cell Broadcast. How to stop it ? Please help!!!!

  • i got this asus max pro m1 from my bro. being a battery centric phone(5000 mah) but battery performace is very poor. from 100 to 5% it just giving 5 hours screen on time for 20 hours use. for PUBG with lowest settings and low brightness it drops 10% for 30 minutes play. i dont know what is the problem with the device. please tell me solution guys?

  • Bought this to play games and it did not disappoint! This is just my secondary phone, battery is very good but charging time to full is 2 hours, but at 80% you could get 4 to 5 hours Screen-on time.. Display is great! Camera is meh, UI is meh but it covers the basics Speaker is loud with ok quality - distorts at full Good in-hand feel Not a fan of stock Android or at least the one installed in this phone

  • Rebooting means restarting. Turn it off and on.

  • You could try to restart it, in most situations it is just a bug, but if that doesn't work take it to the phone service. Or maybe it is just problem with that model, you can still go to the store where you bought it and change it.

  • Maybe your wife is a light phone user? She just use it for minimal use on calls, text, FB and youtube, and maybe you are using a lot of apps? It depends on your app usage bruh. Don't be a fanboy.

  • This phone have it you must install app compas first

  • The 5k battery is a gimmick. It doesn't last that long compared to my wife's Xiaomi Note 5 with a 4k battery. I regretted buying this phone. Should have just bought a Xiaomi. Asus phones sucks.

  • no

  • so true.. the newer updates have proven over time that this 5000mah battery is getting weaker by the day.when i first started using the phone for about a month i used to get two days battery life ..now after all the updates i barely get one day on a 5000mah battery. hoping android 9.0 will fix things! lets wait for it

  • Getting worse on firmware 327, battery is weaker. Dont know will i update to 338 or not, the comment is bad about 338. No use of the 5000mah battery, its the same like xiaomi 3300mah battery. Looks like the update effect on the battery is bad

  • Rebooting does that mean I will loose everything inside my phone as well?

  • switch off phone, press volume down+power button and when you see the logo keep pressing the lower volume button and then wipe clear cache and reboot

  • Brother, I don't think there is any problem in the phone, your charger is faulty, change the charger.

  • I bought my Zenfone Max pro last December 7 but now January 2 I already experience slow charging.. I Usually leave my phone charging overnight until I wake up Does that affects the battery performance? Before in 2hrs battery is Max already from 10% below to 100 but now it's been an hour and it only charged almost 5% 😣 What should I do ?

  • and where have you got, checked that info?! or just trolling here? All the ASUS ZenFones (even the cheaper ones under USD 100) have E-Compass. That's it.

  • this phone does not have a compass lol 😂😂😂

  • Bugs fix kro plzzz asus

  • Would've been better if camera uses the same ratio the screen has and if ambient display was available even though it doesn't have an OLED display

  • Please put panorama in camera. Some games like NBA 2k18 it crash the game and slow detecting mobile network data. Kindly fix and improve

  • Bugs in 338(december) update. I played Microsoft Solitaire game OFFLINE less than 1 hour it drains more than 10% battery, thats not make any sense. Please fix this bugs Asus.

  • I use Zenfone Max Pro about 2 month, batery great, camera acceptable, signal good, the problem is the screen sometimes freezing, finger print not responding, and when you answer call sometimes we cannot see the number who is calling. I hope in the future Asus can fix those problems.

  • I got the notification of .338 OTA update christmas eve so that confirms now that my OTA updates work :) I was just little impatient.

  • I love my Asus Zenfone MAX PRO! for the price i did not expect it as well! Most : - Ultra-responsive, after having just pressed icon that the application opens immediately that it is Facebook, Outlook, google photo .. - Looks great, where I had 2 bars on my old (zenfone Zoom) with the Max Pro M1 I have 4 bars :) - GPS is also responsive no signal loss - The photos are beautiful. - The powerful sound - The beautiful screen ... - Cast the screen and Youtube / Molotov / Netflix / Prime Video easily test an LG TV (WebOS) and also with a ChromeCast on a Samsung TV. (I read a contrary opinion, yet it works well, it must be on the same network) - Autonomy of madness! after 3 days, including 2 intensive days and it is not flat :) amazing. What I like least: Android 8.1 Pure (soon in 9 via the MaJ) without tons of applications. Many will say great! yes but it's almost too minimalist, so take the time to download some additional applications, a height, usually there is always too much! Personally, I put Nova Laucher (more simpa menu), Screen Master (screenshot), "Music Volume EQ" (to adjust the bass and treble), GMD (to manage the buttons Visible / invisible) .. In short after that, I can say that I really have a Phone Extra for -200 €! Well done ASUS. PS: ATTENTION to the import, I almost made me have. I prefer to take it on a French site. (Official Amazon.FR). I received the version (VA) 4G impeccable. there are VB (USA) / VC (Asia) versions that do not have the 4G, 800 and 2100Mhz bands necessary to receive 4G in France. that's why I bought it on Amazon.fr rather than import.

  • Guys, did anyone try playing PUBG on it? Please tell me your experience... Was it able to play smoothly on Medium graphics?

  • Easily Max Pro M1. Its performance (especially gaming) is significantly better than Redmi note 5 & a little better than Redmi note 5 Pro as well Redmi note 6 Pro. In this price range, some better alternatives to M1 for gaming are as follows (unless they've heating issues): Xiaomi Mi 5 Realme 2 Pro HTC 10 Lifestyle

  • Same user here. I've experienced a slight increase in battery drain after updating less than 24 hours ago

  • Yes, Go for it.

  • After install 338 update I can feel the battery drain quite fast

  • Yes and no

  • Should I update my phone manually?

  • Just got the 338 update, havent updated it yet. Anyone has update it? Does it bring more bugs?

  • The update got released just a few days ago. Depending on region, your device may take longer for OTA to be rolled out.

  • Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1)

  • Hi, someone said who had same problem as me with the OTA updates that once you update your phone manually, OTA updates should work but i think it's still "broken" for me as it says there's new update 1811.338 on the website but i don't get notification about it or do i have to wait for couple of days/weeks to get the notification? I have 1810.337 installed right now.

  • Doesn't support ambient display even when it runs on Android 8.1

  • Sir problem i am also facing. Pls tell me if u have got solution .

  • Guys help me please.... max pro M1 or redmi note 5?

  • Video works for me...

  • What's your current release? I didn't have any issues with 334 or when I upgraded to 337...

  • I thought Android One and stock Android is the same thing, only different name... so what is different then?

  • Dual whatsapp feature

  • I've got an update notification for quite awhile. I haven't updated my phone cus there could be bugs associated with the update (like battery drain), so I'm checking this site if there is a bug or not. But recently when I receive calls from my parents they hear an echo of their voices. It wasn't like this before, so we tried to use earphones but there is still an echo. The echo only happen when they call on my phone, it doesn't happen on my sister's phone or my brother's. The software update says it has "improve ringtone issues on answer-calls on bluetooth", although it does not relate to my phone's problem, I'm thinking of updating the phone hoping it could fix it....... Well I just wanna know if there is any problem with the 15.2016.1810.337 software update and let me know if this problem have occured in your phones and how you were able to fix it.

  • I don't think there's a duplicate feature, but I do know you can multitask some apps by pressing the square icon long enough. (There are apps that doesn't allow multitask like messenger)

  • Hello, Have you update your phone with the latest updates? I have already updated software but something weird happened, the snapdragon camera can't record video well, anyone has the similar issue with me? Thank you

  • I just buy this phone.how to duplicate apps?

  • No, just stock android

  • Does the smartphone run on Android One? Looks like it is.

  • Might be problem with this specific phone. Contact manufacturer.

  • Yes, you can wait for M2, but there would be be price difference as well for almost 3K.

  • Stock Android means Google Play Store and Google Apps. The skin and interface UI is stock and not from the manufacturer, in the case not Asus ZenUI. Manufacturer can still add some additional app (as long as it won't impact the official updates). On this phone it is only Facebook and Messenger, the Asus support app and Asus Calculator instead of the official simple Google's calculator. (It's okay for me since this calculator has a metric conversion and currencies that is updated via the internet).

  • how to use panorama feature in asus max pro m1

  • Then you are implying every Android phone manufacturers are double standard.

  • What? You either replied to the wrong comment or you misunderstood the idea - is not a bad thing that battery drains 1% overnight, on contrary - its quite good.

  • Yes mine too. Please tell me how to fix this. I contacted with Asus through fb but they did not gave me any solution.

  • Good buy... But good to wait for max pro m2

  • Mine lose only 1% overnight and for that I close the data connection, WiFi, bluetooth and also close all apps.

  • I am planing to get this phone this weekend. I want to know wether this phone is a better option.if not suggest me a smartphone below 10,000.

  • battery drains very fast 20% down overnight with internet off

  • Thanks, I will try the shut down phone and recharge. Hopefully it would help make the phones up time longer.

  • yes bro please dont update your phone and also disable auto update download in settings

  • The info on the official web site are taken from the best situation, meaning - when charging no other apps are open, no internet connection WiFi, Bluetooth, radio, etc, all completely off. Most Ram is empty from apps and even some services. Also, the whole phone is non-use state, especially the screen. And one very important thing are Google services, if you sign out of Google account so Google services becomes inactive, the battery saving will be even bigger. So as some other guy has told you, all info on a product's performance are taken in the ideal situation, in some cases those info are even theoretical. Dont take it as it should apply to you case no matter what. First you must close absolutely all other things when test something. For example, do what I've said and even shout down the phone and let it charge that way, and you'll see an improvement in charging time.

  • Asus announce Max Pro M1 will get Android Pie update on February after Max Pro M2 and Max M2 get their Android Pie update on January. This is a double standard because the old device should get the update first before the new one. Another things till now the december update is no where to be found and the security patch still on October.

  • These number provided by manufacturers are usually from very optimum condition. Gaming might be done on lowest brightness setting, at air conditioned room, with battery saver turned on, without any vibration and on wifi network. So do take these numbers from manufacturer as a grain of salt. The official website itself said the value are only theoretical value and not real world usage.

  • You have to update it. I'm not sure how updating effects PUBG since I don't play it. But newer update do bring some more features such as Live Wallpaper support, EIS in video recording, camera enhancements and more. But beware, it is quite hard for non-techie person to downgrade it to older version.

  • No need. It will works as usual after updating.

  • Thank you very much. also, do I have to reset my phone to factory settings after i install the update manually???

  • If I buy Asus zenfone max pro m1 in December then will I get a updated phone or will I have to update it? If I need to update will it be good if I skip all the updates from beginning? I will use it for gaming PUBG.

  • using the 4GB version, official asus site shows 12 hours game play, been playing ragnarok m eternal love and my playtime only lasted the most is 9 hours. official site also said 2 hours and 42 mins of 100 % charge, mine takes 3+ hours and to think it is only 2 weeks old, anyone experiencing the same?

  • If I buy Asus zenfone max pro m1 in December then will I get a updated phone or will I have to update it? If I need to update will it be good if I skip all the updates from beginning? I will use it for gaming PUBG.

  • I have been using this phone for almost 4-5 months now, i would suggest if you are looking at playing high end games like PubG and Asphalt 8or9, Go for 6GB Variant. I have 3GB variant and it lags in Shadow fighter 3 also. Battery life decent but not up to the awe of 5000MAh.

  • asus zenfone max pro m1 as hardware wise it is powerful but as software side it is the not good there are many reason to say the os is bad overall its ok

  • Can i get this phone directly from a asus dealer?!!!

  • According 2 me M1 is much more better than M2 as it has a better screen resolution with a large battery back up along with snapdragon 636

  • yes, go for it

  • I want someone that has used this phone for at least a few months or a year to tell me if this is safe to buy for long term use. I want to play heavy games like PUBG, Asphalt 9 on it, so will it be able to handle the graphics? Are its built quality & screen good?

  • online

  • where can you get it

  • It is ALMOST stock android, but it is not an Android One device like Mi A2.

  • Hey this is stock android right? But why does it have bloatware apps like BaBe, Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, etc.?

  • The one with SD 632 is Zenfone Max M2. There is another version, Zenfone Max Pro M2 with SD 660.

  • M2 has been released and has weaker chipset(SD 632), lower resolution screen(HD+) and smaller battery(4000 mAh).

  • hey does this phone supports airtel VOLTE?? in my phone it doesnot supports ..i think

  • Yes it will!

  • will this phone work in us carriers?

  • will it detect future updates automatically after this manual update? thankss!!

  • This is the link I used to download the firmware (in case you cannot find it) Download the firmware and transfer it to the phone. I prefer to download with PC since it is more reliable but both should works. After transferring the firmware file, the phone should detect the file and ask for update confirmation. Follow this guide for step by step method

  • well asus has work well.... his performance battery backup everything is perfect that's why I recommended you to buy only asus zenfone max pro m1.... keep it up asus

  • Well Honor 8x is Huawei not Xiaomi and I'm not hating the phone

  • Xiaomi fanboys detected, great haters of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Xiaomi can gth.

  • Almost all of forums at Facebook NBA 2K19 is always forcing close/force stop on Max Pro M1instead of buying this phone I switch on Honor 8x

  • Many on my Facebook friends telling me this Max Pro M1 is always forcing close or stop on NBA 2K19 and I almost bought this phone now I switch to Honor 8x the Camera is Great

  • Did you update using PC or directly download the update file with your Zenfone? Can you provide me instructions on how you update manually? Thanks.

  • there no such update and no official words from asus about it

  • I also got the same problem. Just go to ASUS website and download the latest firmware update. Follow the steps given from the website. OTA update works after doing this.

  • You mean Android Pie is already available in some regions for this phone? If that's true then great! But i still wonder why my Zenfone Max Pro hasn't received ANY updates!?

  • now start update pie 9.0 go seting about

  • I just bought this phone and oddly there isn't any updates available, not even security updates which i find weird as this is supposed to be pure Google's Android without ZenUI. My latest security level is May 2018. My model is Asus X00TD. Is there any other users still having May security level without any updates since its launch?

  • *your

  • This issues and concerns were brought up several times it was already fixed on the update and if you need an in-depth adjustment you can try to the download the Google camera at play store don't be such a hater and you're English is bad.

  • Wait for M2 if you're not in hurry. It will be overall a better device.

  • device brightness auto changes and suddenly gets brightened to full /low and the brightness changer slider does not even work ,until we restart the device

  • Phone performance, camera, sound is okey but it has no c type USB no gorilla glass on 3gb/4gb/6gb ram 10999/12999/14999 market value at this time, after applied 5d glass some space on upper side which is not good for camera.

  • Hi can I buy it as u mentioned

  • One of the best phone for 12000/- Supporting fast net...

  • If you need Notch and better performance, go with M2. If you dislike notch and can live with a good performance, go with M1.

  • Can I buy this phone? or should I wait M2?

  • every thing ok but camera is very bad change hardware

  • Its true and not solved

  • the best gaming phone in low budget...........

  • No video calling feature........

  • Great escape from Notch Design of Max Pro M2. No matter how the performance of M2 would be. Notch sucks by giving an awkward look to a well made hardware. Love Max Pro M1. Best in Class from Asus. First is always Best.

  • Look again, that's an LED flash

  • No Direct Video calling in jio network. Very irritating phone.

  • Android One should provide guarantees like 3 years of security updates and new versions of Android.

  • Another m2 teaser is out. M2 is coming with 3 rear cameras.

  • how to make a 60fps video ? i can't find it

  • Go to the router settings and change the 2.4GHz channel to either Channel 3, or Channel 10. Usually, Channel 6 is the default.

  • Brother.. 1. My wifi router is on the 2nd floor. when I am on the second floor the Wi-Fi works perfect and when I go down to the first floor and it has very weak signal and then it disconnects and in the Wi-Fi settings it does not show my Wi-Fi name and and then I have to wait for sometime and after that it shows up my Wi-Fi name and it connects but it has very low signal and this is a very big problem for me 2. after the November update my battery is good because I have bought this phone just a week before and I am getting 11 to 12 hours of SOT. ARE YOU HAVING THE WI-FI ISSUE IF YOU HAVE THEN TELL ME WHAT SHOULD WE DO HOW TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM?

  • Yes

  • i got 2 concerns regarding ASUS Max Pro M1 1. does ASUS Max Pro M1 can connect to wifi if the wifi modem is on the 1st floor and you are on the 2nd floor? 2. does ASUS Max Pro M1 drains more battery life and bugs out after the update?

  • Well, it works well on my phone. Actually better than the last version

  • Thats the phone user fates. Yes I too feel disappointed when Max Pro M2 news come up but thats the reality of life. For me I will wait for Max Pro M3 or Max Pro M4(if it will be exist someday) for upgrade because there is no point to do now just as my Max Pro M1 only 5 month old. SD636 and SD660 not have so much different both are on 14nm fabrication. I bought the ZB602KL (I not live in India) so my front camera megapixels is 16MP but I think U are buying ZB601KL front camera megapixels is 5 mega pixels.

  • Man! I'm a Max Pro M1 user and love my phone. I'm just giving suggestions to those who will come here for reviews and I'm bit disappointed too because they are launching M2 (Pro) pretty quick. Just think for a while, will you buy a phone whose successor is already there with better specs. They are also launching Max M2 with similar specs and better front camera (13mp). So, there is literally no point to buy this phone now.

  • Yes i also have WiFi issues. Sometimes it disconnects when i go from 2nd floor to 1st floor. My other phones are working perfectly. I think this phone has weak WiFi strength. What about yours now? Did your problem solved? Suggest what to do ..

  • its working fine for me

  • is this phone really support bluetooth 5.0? when i tested the bluetooth it only said 4.2. and i look in android authority they also said bluetooth 4.2

  • Anybody here having problem with mobile hotspot? Hotspot only works on 2nd sim slot on mine.

  • My phone software is okay after updating November update

  • The new update mic doesnt work, the phone is okay but man the software is so buggy as hell!! LOL on this new update!!!

  • Max pro m2 teaser is out. Uses notch, promises better battery, better performance and stronger screen.

  • If you dont want to buy this phone thats is your right but dont trolled the phone is not getting Android P and Q because the Asus top management has make a promise openly and publicly the phone will get those updates. If they dont deliver the promise it will filthy the Asus reputations and of cause they dont its to happen. But I believe you are Xiaomi fanboys aka Xiaomi lackey. Many Xiaomi fanboys are angry with this phone because this phone break Redmi Note 5 Pro domination and steals large portion Redmi Note 5 Pro market. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 and Realme already given big and hard blow to Xiaomi in Indian market and southeast asia market

  • There is no need to buy Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 as it's Successor with SD660 is coming next month and the Max M2 will have same specs as M1 with better front camera and ZenUI. So I don't find any reason to buy this and now even Asus will forget about this device after M2 launch. Forget about Android P and Q

  • Face recognition is slow, some times does not work

  • only by feel its durable battery is enough to decide. And it's only one of its pluses. Get it you'll have no regret. Don't believe its fierce competitors bandwagon bad words about it here or anywhere, whether they said it frankly or pretendly as its users. I've learn about it all anywhere on internet. Seems this phone has hurt many competitor's hearts by it's too low price for it's good enough specs. Believe me.. to have a slightly better phone than this you need almost twice the budget.

  • I come from flagship phones. In fact I'm still using flagship phone as my SECOND phone beside this Asus which I feel is more handy for daily basis. I don't think the Asus processor, USB Port, lack of 5GHz and it's other probable weakness, I don't think that they would prevent this phone to be still smoothly used even for two years. It's been almost a year now since this phone was on the market, and I'm ready to prove my word to you here one year from now.

  • enabling EIS is already a big update kid

  • My friend has this phone, overall the device is great but it feels a little slow, especially if you are coming from a flagship device. But that is not the target demographic of this device in the first place. Thus, as you can probably sense where this conversation is leading, this is not a device which you can use for two years. It has the outdated microUSB port, it does not have support for 5Ghz ac wifi and the camera is subpar except on the top end variant of this phone. It is not a bad phone but for me personally, it does not seem like a *2 year* phone. At most, I can get by it for another year. Battery life is superb though.

  • Thanks

  • Hi, This update not fix the internet/data problem in sim2 while playing online games like mobile legends.I can't connect ingames using data sim2(I can't tell also on sim1 if i can connect didn't try it)Hope you will fix this on the next update.

  • I've been considering getting this phone but I'm scared of wasting money as I need a phone that can last at least 2 years, so I've been holding it off for months... Please share your experience with it. Its build quality, display, performance in games like PUBG etc?

  • No any heating while playing heavy games under 45-46 is normal

  • This is not a big update, go ahead

  • Model ZB601KL is for India only version! . . . as already said. The title is totally wrong here, it's about MPM1 all versions . . . You can see the very special MY versions here as well and they are ZB602KL versions. It's very sad, that ZB602KL - a big hit - doesn't even mentioned on GSMAr. Sell that ZB601KL and buy the right version.

  • Don't think about a much better phone . . . it will be just bigger = 6,3 in and don't forget competitors just raised prices in India. I think it will start in Russia frist, they also have the MPM1 versions with 128Gb of storage for a wile

  • Max pro m2 is coming.... December 11, 2018

  • yes

  • This is the latest firmware ?

  • November FOTA update build number 15.2016.1810.337 have been rolled out Optimize your device with: 1. Enable EIS feature on cameras. 2. Support Live Wallpaper feature 3. Improve ringtone issue on answer-calls with Bluetooth 4. Fix Wifi compatibility issue with ASUS AC51U 5. Fix FM radio issue Since the server pushes update notice to different serial numbers by batches, it may take some days for you to receive the FOTA notice. In the meantime, you may tap System update in [Settings] >>[System] to check if there is new firmware available. Everyone please provide the feedback of the update after installing - if it is a useful update or if it introduced new set of bugs P/S : This updates without November Security Patch

  • Hi, Thanks for your reply, So 40-42 degree celsius is normal?Take note this temperature is on the surface and back.

  • your phone will heat up if you put your ML gfx to high frame rate and high gfx, but even if you don't, it will still heat up, try playing Angry Birds 2 on it, it will heat up more

  • Everyphone heat up while playing game. There is no "only" playing something, you can't tell if some game will heat up the phone without trying to play.

  • The fade is displayed by Launcher3 (system launcher) based on the wallpaper displayed. If you want solid wallpaper without the fade gradient to bottom system button bar, use another launcher such as Nova Launcher, Evie Launcher, Lean Launcher or any other that may appeal to you. I personally use Evie launcher.

  • If you've bought the 601 it'd be a hard lesson learnt. Yes , this website should have all ASUS devices with all correct bands but that it doesn't as you point out and we all know by looking for it. It's one website. I wouldn't call it unreliable as this site has assisted me over the years. Don't ever rely on one source when making purchase desisions just like you would research when searching for best reliable price.

  • Anyone got heating problem? My phone temperature goes up to 40-42degree celsius while only playing mobile legends high settings. Is there any fix on this problem?BTW im using latest update software.

  • I also have that problem

  • It can be modified with 3rd party apps, lot of apps available on playstore

  • i've been use this phone since launched and i got supressed with the build quality and camera. its so good with coloring grade at camera and build quality that i make mistake with break to floor or something and its so good for 190$ phone :)

  • A lot a people complain when using headphones to listen to music or watch videos they say there is almost no bass and the audio quality is really bad? Is this true and has this been fixed if its true, i am planning on buying this phone next week thats why im asking.

  • I'm pointing out that this model is not suitable for Australia. Maybe 602 version b is but that is not this . Check the title. This is about 601. Complain about GSMAREANA not having all the different models if you want to pick on anyone.

  • When setting a wallpaper the colors fade away from the bottom part .. there is no screen bleeding issue .. i guess i m facing this issue after october update?? Any one else noticed it ???

  • Please note previous comment about battery logetivity relates to my ZB602KL model B. Sorry, I forgot to add that to the comment

  • Today my girls had my phone for a good bit of the day... Screen on time: 7 hours 52min BULK REPORT YouTube: 3 hours 9 minutes @ 22% YT Kids: 2 hours 40 mins @ 20% Chrome: 55 mins @ 6% Messenger (Facebook): 3 hours 53 minutes @ 5% Google: 2%... Last charge: 16 hours 32 minutes ago Battery remaining: 19%, 3 hrs 51 mins estimated. Bloody good battery longevity!

  • Obviously the S7 edge by Samsung while produced a few years ago still holds a superior chipset, display, camera and pretty much everything. The battery of the S7 is great for the power it supplies to that chipset, but that's where it ends. It's efficient for its device. Simply, this Zenfone will outlast a S7 by almost double if not more dependant on usage and performance is definitely not the same. The S7 is faster on paper and in benchmarks. It has a quality camera. It has the bells and whistles. But, if your screen is broke or your S7 took a bath and you don't care to pay that price tag, snap a Zenfone M1

  • Don't concern yourself with that. I installed CPU-Z just to see and yes mine too says 101°c. On further investigation I found it "may" be related to power amplification, though that isn't certain. Fact is, all devices across the board generally report between 85 and 105°c so definitely don't lose sleep over it

  • hi, is it nice move to swith from s7edge exynos to asus max pro m1 6gb variant ?

  • Hi, How to fix 100celsius pa_therm0 ?result appear on cpu-z hoping someone can help me on this problem. Thanks!

  • It really depend too. For new phone, ASUS very fast to react, but after one year, their pace of update will be slow, as they will focus on newer release phone. I don't know if this Zenfone Max Pro M1 will be same fate as it's predecessor. Xiaomi are known for their UI bugs, typically they fix yearly with new MIUI version. For Redmi series, they at least will update one time for Android version, and several time for MIUI version. I would say choosing both of these budget phone won't has much issue, unless you are really sensitive about the updates, then goes with the more expensive one, but from day to day usage, it doesn't affect much even if it is not updated.

  • That is what I say Pros and Cons. ASUS doesn't has it's own fast charge, in ZF2, it is Qualcomm QC2.0, tested and verified with QC2.0 and QC3.0 charger. This Zenfone Max Pro support the normal charging, not the QC version, typical at 5V/1A. There are speculation say normal charge will extend battery life time, then the QC fast charge only fast charge at certain percentage of battery, and will slow down around 70%

  • With Xiaomi phone you also will get frustrated because when you get bugs in updates it will not solves in short period but its take months or maybe a year to get rid of its and your phone potentials will be damaged at the same time. Xiaomi makes too many phone in a year and their Operating System User Interface are very heavily customised so their software developer team or staff maybe cannot catch up. Redmi phone will not get a monthly update but in 2-3 month (no up to date security patch) and it always comes with a bugs. I know this because I own and use 1 Xiaomi phone, the Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 3/32. Want to knows about the bugs in almost all Xiaomi's especially the Redmi phone U get read it many tech forum even at Xiaomi owns tech forum. Because of the bug in Redmi Note 3 still not settle after a year I decide to buy Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. Yes this phone also have a bugs in the update but Asus solves its in short period of time compare to Redmi's updates bugs take very long period to be settle or maybe not solves at all.

  • Successor RN 6 on market already, so comparison of prices is pointless. Redmi Note 5 supports QC2.0 only as far as i know and charges its smaller battery not much faster, than MPM 1 with its 'fast charge' that 5000 mAh one. ASUS has its own version of fast charging, even implemented earlier in ZF 2 already. That triple slot is very important for most of us, with dual VoLTE support, that's not so common, even in more expensive phones. and don't forget to mention, that ZF MPM 1 has better display, than that more expensive POCO!

  • I would say both has pros and cons. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 now has price dropped, and it is actually slightly cheaper or comparable pricing at my region. Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 I would considered as all rounder, support QC3.0, and also 5Ghz WiFi, 4000mah which is quite big enough. ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M1 I would considered more for hardcore user for it's 5000mah battery, triple independent card slot as this is important to some, then pure Android experience for purist and make them no reason to condemn a phone UI. It is the cheapest pure Android experience you can get, and still pack a reasonable powerful SD636. For normal user, I would recommend Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, that is more than enough and even the 32GB version, you get better camera compared to 32GB version of Zenfone Max Pro M1. At 64GB version, then yes, both are considerable and depend what you really needs. Both Xiaomi and ASUS are good brand at cheap price and I respect both, I use both now with ASUS Zenfone 5z and Xiaomi Pocophone F1.

  • Can you add live wallpapers to this phone? And yes i know it will drain the battery much faster i just wonder because many people told you couldn't

  • Don't buy this mobile...waste of money mobile. After some month mobile don't work properly to many problem in system..

  • redmi note 5 AI ....camera is better, fingerprint unlock is faster, then ASU

  • I have also faced battery drain after update...tried many settings but failed and finally removed finger prints, wiped cache partition and at last the battery drain problem resolved.. Hope this works for every one...

  • Maybe an imitation?

  • Is this a great phone?

  • many fansboy of asus heres

  • Model ZB601KL is for India only. You have bought the wrong version, don't complane about the phone. Version B has much better support, than the Pocophone or other Xiaomi midrangers and a lots of other entry level ZenFones as well

  • and taiwan version also has support for NFC

  • ZB602KL model B supports band 28. I'm on Optus in Australia and it supports band 28. Look for the Taiwan version

  • That site is wrong. Telstra uses more than 3 4g frequencies click on telstra and it shows 6 bands. Band 28 700Mhz which is 4gx and used in country and fringe areas is not supported by this phone. Where it is on most other Asus phones. odd they limited the bands on a "Pro" phone versus plus even. o and this is 601 anyway " Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Dual SIM TD-LTE IN ZB601KL 64GB is compatible with 6 out of 7 bands on Telstra (Australia). See the tables below for details. "

  • who needs that? this phone has got more updates, than any other AO device ... check in Xiaomi forums that they with AO have got! lol

  • this phone is missing Android One

  • Have you updated it??

  • I am using the 6GB varient and I face lot of issues like -Quick battery drain while the phone is idle. Also, I face display problem while someone calls me (since the display activate excatly after 10 sec from the ringtone). Also in camera, if we enable the portrait & Beauty mode - the images are not getting saved in galary (I dont know where it goes). And cant download any sort of apps from play store. Further to this, the device gets hanged while scrolling and doesn't respond while selecting songs in play music. Over all this device makes frustration !!!!!

  • "Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Dual SIM TD-LTE APAC Version B ZB602KL ... is compatible with 7 out of 7 bands on Telstra (Australia)." (according to Frequencycheck, you can check for more details.) also excellent 100% support for aust. 4G/LTE Bands! for 3G as well. Wich version do you have? maybe the wrong one (version A) . . . or there is an other prob

  • Am willing to buy the 3/32 version here in Qatar, who knows the shops that its retailed? And is zb602kl available here?

  • NFC is optional on ZB602KL (Global) model. a lots of country or regional versions have it. just check for it.

  • Don't buy for Telstra Australia . Doesn't support 4GX or band 28. Sucked in by big battery while away from home but can't get signal :-(

  • Does it have scratch resistant glass on its screen?

  • not support NFC

  • OK, so far its a good update

  • a new version of ZB602KL model w/ 128GB of storage just starting in EU/France. this time only in most popular black color first PN 90AX00T1-M01740

  • I've read on Asus forum people having poor battery life with that update. Updated anyway and no problem experienced here. SOT 7hr 32min Last charged 1 day 16 hours 34 minutes Current battery 7% left YouTube Kids usage 5 hrs 44 minutes 38% (I've got three kids. They watched while on WiFi) ZB602KL (b) 3/32

  • how is Asus zenfone max pro m1 26 October update?

  • It definitely supports Dual VOLTE where I live.

  • I'm sorry, but do you mean you get ONLY 6 hours of SOT on normal usage and 2-3 hours on PUBG? I am not sure we are using the same phone here. Have you installed the latest software update? There were issues with an update but it was only for about a week and is now fixed. If you haven't updated please do so and then tell us how long your battery lasts. I play PUBG and Asphalt 9 and on 50% brightness and 4G connected I get 5 hours on PUBG and 6+ hours of Asphalt 9(100-10%). On Wifi it lasts about 30 min longer. Regular usage like browsing, music,Youtube,WhatsApp,calls, camera gets me through a full day easily with 30-40+% left and SOT of 10+ hours.

  • Okay. I myself have faced this quite a few times but honestly speaking, this happens when like you move out of lift, and the signal is not good in that area, asus drops to connect. Later, after like 2-3 minutes, gets commected. Not an issue for me though. I don't use lift much XAXA

  • tbh the best mid range with huge batt capacity for less than 250USD.. " 2018's VALUE FOR MONEY smartphone " winner IMHO..

  • i just bought this phone yesterday and i bought the 6/64 spec..its good price ( MYR 900 ) for a phone with SD636 , 6GB RAM/64GB storage with 5000mAh is undeniably the best smartphone with the best spec for mid range phone..i hope th

  • Doubtful whether it support Dual SIM VOLTE

  • I got Screen On Time using on internet only around 11-12 hour. I use 80% on wifi and 20% on 4G LTE Broadband. I use it on browsing via Google Chrome, social media(whatsapps, telegram) and multiple apps like TradeInterceptor, FXCM Trading station,Youtube, Ookla Speedtest etc. I dont play games on my Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1).

  • I think this is because of SIM..... I used to have same issue with JIO SIM as 4G network. But in AIRTEL I am not having such issue. Lenovo K4 Note......

  • 6hr most sot after heavy use like playing pubg 2-3 hr

  • So update 334 came via OTA? The support website is still on 331 and via the phone I am still no able to go past 331. 🤔

  • By doing this PUBG TOOLS Would it affect the phone battery (Heating) and would it drain fast?

  • Are you in write only mode . . .? Read some of the latest pages (f.e. over 100 lol!) here, there is the answer for you. But in short . . . it's got a lots of updates.

  • I wish to by this phone, MAINLY FOR REAR CAMERA USAGE. During July review, I have read that rear camera has an issue of slow processing - " It took a lot of time to process the images and in cases where I moved the device before the processing was completed, the images came out completely blurred and out of focus. I sure wish Asus would address these problems with software updates in the near future as they really hamper the overall camera performance of the device." So, I want to know whether this issue was rectified by SW update , as on today ( 30th Oct ). Pl reply me someone . Thanks guys.

  • Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1Screen On Time (SOT) are more and better than Redmi Note 5 Pro. I own the former and I got 11-12 hours (SOT) with 20% brightness and used it on 80%/20% wifi/4G broadband (browsing, social media and multiple apps). I dont own Redmi Note 5 Pro but I read the people comments on GSMArena the top SOT its can get is 8-9 hours and right now because of bugs in updates they can only get 5-6 hours SOT. Xiaomi's updates always come with bugs and its take several more updates to get rid off the bugs meaning Xiaomi's phone always have bugs except U dont updates it frequently.

  • Here in Brazil we don't have official Xiaomi phones, only buying from China or from people that bought from China (so, no warranty). And both prices are similar. And we don't have Zenfone Max Pro M1 with 6 GB RAM, only 3/32 and 4/64. I think that I'll buy the Zenfone, I had the Redmi 2 and Redmi 4 Prime from Xiaomi, and both were not updated to a newer Android version

  • Yes Definitely. About the SOT : 1 hour more battery juice on gaming is huge difference. And it's just one of other aspects where the Asus is better. Read around and you'll know. Camera, I don't care that people said (spec wise) the RN5P is better. First for me, the Asus Cam is not bad, second the difference is not that far esp if you take the 6GB Asus into consideration, which it has better camera than the 3 or 4GB version. Third, IF its true that RN5P has advantage on camera, it's (and other of it's probable advantages aspect) is stil not enough to beat the Asus, which also has many if not more advantages than the Xiaomi. But if you, (after spending your time here on Asus ZF MPM1 opinion thread, read this and others, considering you're a Xiaomi user) still love Xiaomi more, well congrats on a more expensive buy of phone that is actually not better than this Asus in many aspects.

  • I'm thinking to buy this phone (4/64 GB) and I have a Redmi 4 Prime now with almost 2 years. Is it a good upgrade? How about camera on Zenfone and battery? I saw a test that it got almost the same SOT of Redmi Note 5 Pro with 4000 mAh.

  • Pocophone and MPM1 prices category are different.

  • Hi, I am using Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 device. I am facing a problem regarding connecting to tower. If signal is disconnected while coming in lift or in other cases, device is not reconnecting automatically. To refresh the tower signal, I need to go in Aeroplane mode and have to off. Once I did this my device will get the signal. Please provide any solution for this issue. Thanks in advance.

  • Wait for Mr. Santa Claus to come down from our chimney (if we have one...)

  • Any idea when they are going to release pro M2?

  • It can run 60FPS in HDR+Anti-aliasing.. I'm using PUBG tool to unlock the highest settings tho

  • Just receive 334 or second october update today in Malaysia. Will updating it now.

  • Im playing with high settings in 3gb variant. didnt try anti aliasing

  • I'm not get any update till now...my last security update 1 mei 2018...

  • 16 hours 43 minutes

  • hey, what is the duration time of the battery when play games and in use normal? 6Ram move all easy? please i need this answer

  • Thanks for the reply. I'm actually convinced to get this phone cus I have a friend who use the same phone and she said its pretty good. Others said it has good battery life. And this forum (or comment section) is pretty positive about the phone. I've also watched a speed test comparison with this phone and pocophone. Obviously, poco wins the challenge, but mpm1 users still thinks mpm1 is the best (cus the result is pretty close).

  • Can this phone take the high settings of PUBG Mobile?? Graphics = High Anti-Aliasing = Enable Anyone please??

  • Gosh. Havent received the update yet. Still on 331. Last time I thought notification sound bug from 327 was fixed. This few days, it comes back. Often receive notif without sound.

  • Nice to see a good feedback on second October or 334 update.

  • I posting comment with my new asus zenfone max pro m1, awesome mobile for this price, I using last 1 week I got 2 days battery backup for normal usage, Dual volte support Sd card dedicated Handy mobile Camera is good with both flash, and 4k support Performance is awesome, i used 5 heavy games one at a time, it resume where i leave the game last. I using 6gb ram varient No gorilla glass protection, but that's not an issue, i using 5d temper glass, and backcase for protect my mobile Colored notification led is there Heavy sound quality, i using only 50%volume that's show heavy sound Overall for this budget, awesome mobile, go ahead without hesitate

  • Update regarding update :-P I'm on 334. Much better now. Backup is as good as it was on whatever version before 331. Asphalt 9 in default graphics and 4G internet takes 8-9% an hour/ HD takes 11-12%. Browsing, standby all better compared to the last one. Last night it was down by only 3% with 4G on. I'm quite surprised they fixed it so fast. I never had issues with the fingerprint sensor(or anything else) to begin with so my phone is fine now. Update at your own risk though. And don't forget to wipe cache partitition. :-)

  • after the update today its fixed, battery does not drain any more, asus is good in terms of update

  • I have downloaded the 2nd Oct update on 27th Oct around 6pm and the double tap to wake up is now working smoothly. Earlier only the lower part of screen used to respond to the double tap - now even the upper portion of screen ( close to the volume up button ) is responsive. Never faced the battery draining or heating up issue till now.

  • There were 2 FOTA rollout update for October, 331 release on 13.10.2018 and 334 release on 26.10.2018. 1. Second FOTA rollout update for October A new FOTA update has been rolling out to Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (both ZB601KL and ZB602KL) on 26/10/2018. Improve power consumption issue. 3. Optimize waking system by double tapping/wiping up on screen. This is a second update been rollout this October and many not receive it yet and we still dont know how it will effected our Zenfone Max Pro M1.

  • Do U sure about this ? Do U really updating 334 not 331 ? 331 rollout do have a issue about battery draining fast but 334 rollout Asus said it will improve battery or power consumption issue.

  • Actually when you read about 'problem' in this Asus, it's not really a problem. Infact it's a very small problem. Battery drain is exagarated word, truth is its only tiny problem almost not a problem, out of REALLY no real problem on Asus. And I think with the latest update (334) it's been fixed. Nothing serious. Its like when you have a clean white sheet (means no problem) and then there's one very small black dust on it, which actually very small to be called it a problem and very easy to be fixed, which some people exagarated it as if its a big problem. It's not. Every phone has their own problem. And the other phones might have bigger or more serious problem than this Asus, which I dare to say as problem free phone actually. Even if when I compare it to my Apple iPhones! Great work and great low price from Asus. Nothing to worry.

  • There is no special hungarian version! That's one of the european versions. Some have NFC, some don't but only in ZB602KL global models optional.

  • Im well satisfied with this phone, I usually get 8+ hours battery life, plus the hungarian version also has NFC

  • after October update, my phone make network issue.how to recover that network issue

  • I'm planning to upgrade to ZMPM1, but I'm a little bit disappointed with the comments here. Battery issues after updates? Same with the Z4M, after updates the battery had a faster battery-draining. But I'm glad in the Oreo update, it somehow came back, feels like the first I bought it. So if ever I buy this ZMPM1, maybe it is good not to update?

  • You can't record at 60 fps its all fake we have been cheated by asus

  • System is using more. Battery than apps. Battery problem remains in this update too

  • A new FOTA update has been rolling out to Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (both ZB601KL and ZB602KL) on 26/10/2018. The complete changelog (provided by Asus) is given below : Build No. : 15.2016.1810.334 Update Size : 442.68 MB Changelog : 1. Update Google security patch to October 2018. 2. Improve power consumption issue. 3. Optimize waking system by double tapping/wiping up on screen. Since the server pushes update notice to different serial numbers by batches, it may take some days for you to receive the FOTA notice. In the meantime, you may tap “System update” in [Settings] >>[System] to check if there is new firmware available. Everyone please provide the feedback of the update after installing - if it is a useful update or if it introduced new set of bugs... This statement been copied from forum.XDA-developers.com, did anybody has receive and update this new FOTA update. If anyone already updating this 334 updates please share how your phone performs after updating. Thank in advances.

  • I only having this problem after 331 updates before no problem.

  • It's not hot. At all. The previous zenfone series notoriously had heat issues probably...but this one is not. Just upgrade until before the v331, that is v327, the best update IMHO. I don't know how the newer than v331 update would be, I'm still on 331. Right before it was 327. That's why I can recommend to you to stop at the 327 and wait what after 331 update would be like.

  • Got another 442.68 MB update. Second one in less than 10 days!(last one was 331) Will update regarding battery performance after a day or two.

  • sometimes the touch screen not well responding ,bro i am facing same issue in 327 ,is this is hardware issue or software ,have u faced same problem in 327 ver also .pls reply very urgent

  • Hi! I'm looking for a new budget phone and I've been searching from Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo. I'm also checking out Huawei and Honor. I'm new to ASUS ZF but I just checked the store awhile ago and Asus ZF 5q seems nice but its out of stock. I told the staff that I'm gonna use it for gaming and they recommended me this Asus ZF MPM1. Its way cheaper than Mi A2 and Oppo F9 so I got interested with the phone. The reason why I'm checking out Asus ZF now is because I've been reading quite a few problems with A2 and F9, which lead me to doubt my decision of buying either of them. A2 has laggy touch response, fingerprint sensor is always on (I don't really know what the problem with that, but it may cause battery drain or can be a problem while using the phone) and face recognition isn't functioning properly after the latest software update. A2 versus F9, my eyes are set on A2. But I've been asking questions to confirm the A2 problems, if these problems do occur, I might switch to MPM1. I've also read a few comments on this phone saying the latest update is draining the battery, so if I ever bought this phone, I just have to not update it, right? Aside from that, is there other problems with MPM1 aside from heat problems, because even on my Samsung S5 it happens, almost all phones I've checked have heat problems when charging while using it.

  • My only regret is not spending a little more for 6GB/64GB variant. I've got the 3GB/32GB on firmware 331. Call me a fanboy. Hell I'm a fanboy! I love stock Android. Now I love ASUS. If I had a Redmi Note 5 AI Dual I'd probably be happy too... but I'm stocked with the this ASUS Max Pro M1 model B in Australia on the Optus network. I'm only pissed with myself for not getting the better variant. This 3GB/32GB is performing well.

  • This phone so very big 😂

  • I must add, with Asus ZF MPM1 you got 3 slots (2 for 4G SIM Cards and 1 for SD Card up to 2TB) those are dual 4G alright, where on the other two you got hybrid dual sim slot (which mean only 2 slots, 1 for 4G SIM Card and 1 for either one of a second SIM Card or SD Card). This only pretty easier for me to choose Asus ZF MPM1.

  • The Asus, especially if you like streamlined Android, cheapest price, best performance to price ratio, best performance, best battery, high customizeable system, good update from Asus etc etc... all the two other's pluses than Asus are only a bit and are very very arguable, means not really pluses. Asus zf mpm 1 is the best among your three option. No brainer.

  • its not for US . its mainly for europe and asian countries

  • budget Rs 15000 , forget asus between note 5 pro n nokia , i would say note 5 pro if u like stock android, no face unlock, compromise on camera, prefer android updates then choose nokia

  • hi. i want to buy new mobile phone under rs 15000. i am confuse between redmi note 5pro.nokia 6.1 plus, and asus zenfone max pro ( m1 ). can you pls help me to buy good phone

  • I done a factory reset and calibrated the battery after 2 day of use I think it might rid off the faster battery drain issue but cannot 100% sure about it.

  • I'm sorry. That was ignorant of me. Found the solution in Settings>Network and Internet>Sim cards>Cellular Data>Switch 1 or 2. BSNL 3G works fine now. I apologise again.

  • Battery drain fast, easily heating and sometimes the touch screen not well responding. 331 updates is a bad updates, for those who not yet update is better wait for another update.

  • It hangs at certain times- esp call! Heating issue!

  • Cannot connect to the internet on 3G/2G SIM card with another 4G SIM active in slot 2. If any Indians are reading this, does your device have this issue? I have one BSNL 3G SIM card and another Jio 4G. Jio works great but for data connection on 3G/2G BSNL(sim 2) I have to remove my 4G SIM card out of the phone. My BSNL data is for all practical purposes completely useless now. Is there a solution for this in settings?

  • Please help me guys of how to solve the screen flickering when I playing pubg and the battery is draining faster, please help me.

  • ASUS fix battery draining issue, happening since last update

  • Yeah, wiping the cache solve the battery problem for like 2 or 3 days only. After that, battery drains faster again.

  • Hi guys! What is your alternative solution for the front cam auto filter after the latest update? I hate auto filter. Thanks

  • Frankly speaking I dont care much about the camera because dont take picture frequently so I dont notice anything change in camera setting. Sorry cannot help in this matter.

  • Before updated 331 build rollout (october update) can get SCREEN ON TIME (SOT) 11-12 HOUR per 1 cycle full battery charge and after updated only manage to get SOT 7-8 HOUR per 1 cycle full battery charge. Meaning after updated my Max Pro (M1) lost SOT 3-4 HOUR per 1 cycle battery charge. I done 3 time wipe cache partition on my Max Pro (M1) but no improvement on battery efficiency. There must be bugs on this update that make the battery drain fast.

  • I buy this phone from past 2 weeks then suddenly it shutdown by itself help me

  • That's a very big bsh, sorry . . . POCO has support for very few band only, useless in most of asian places as well, no support for Japan, Taiwan and so on. That's on WCDMA/3G as well!!! It's a very expensive piece as a phone, some entry level ($100) Zenfones offer much better radio support. It seems you no nothing about that bands or radio support.

  • Sir is it true that the front cam has a autofilter or face beauty after the latest update?

  • After october update battery drain fast, double tap gesture not working properly....any remedy

  • Is it true that the latest build number 331, the front cam has a autofilter or face beauty? Planning to update. Thanks

  • What is battery backup time after full charge

  • After I done wipe cache partition at first seem the fast battery drain has been rid off but I realized the bugs are not gone yet and still feel the battery is fast drains because I get less Screen On Time(SOT) because before install the 331 update rollup and do wipe the cache partition I can get 11 hour SOT but now only 8 hour, 3 hour short even after done the wipe cahce partition. To Asus personal if U are reading this please do something.

  • After done all things nothing changed, battery drainage still a big problem in October update. Now charging take too much time..

  • It plays all games quite smoothly, altough because it is 636, maybe a tiny bit of lag in pubg initially on hd graphics, but then it is one of the most underrated phones in India

  • Wow... Really? How can we confirm that? Link of official statement maybe, please? Thank You in advance

  • The suggestion from others worked. Wipe the cache partition does improve the battery performance

  • Can anyone list all the issues there are in this phone? And how does it handle heavy games like PUBG?

  • This Device after update support "aptX HD"

  • Yes after updating october updates battery efficiency is down but after wipe the cache partition battery efficiency is recover back to normal.

  • This how to do clear cache partition. First make sure the Asus Zenfone Max M1 battery is sufficient. Turn off Asus Zenfone Max M1. Press and hold the Volume Down + Power button. after the android logo appears release the power button and keep press / hold down the volume button until the recovery mode appears. Use the Volume Down / Up button for navigation. Navigate to Wipe Cache Partition position and to confirm Use Power button. then select Yes (wait for Done process). Then the display will return to the initial View recovery mode, If we just want to process wipe cache partition only, then we just select Reboot system now. Hope its usefull.

  • Yes. M faceing same prolbm. Network issue in mobile

  • after recent update the battery performance and backup time idle time, everything gone down

  • yes you are the only one

  • How to wipe out cache partition.

  • Yes

  • Mine is 3/32GB. And I also face the same problem. The battery seems to be becoming worse. The fingerprint is also not as snappy as before. Often not responding I also faced the same thing when Asus rolled out the august security patch. And now when they send out the september security patch, it has the same problem. Maybe it will be fixed in the next update just like before. They fixed the ringtones bug though in this update.

  • Battery seems to drain faster in the new update. Usually I got around 5 hours SOT from 100% to 50%. But Now, I only get around 4 hours for the same percentage.

  • I've notice that my 4/64 Variant The Data Connection is turning off Automatically and for me to use the Data, I need to Restart the phone Am I the only who is experiencing this?

  • Yes i restore my phone after update but nothing changed..

  • Sorry, saw your comment now. I have not noticed any major changes in UI anywhere till now. But I can definitely see that battery backup has gone down significantly. Before the update the battery never drained more than 2-3% overnight(one 4g and another 2g sim active), and screen on time was always 11+ hours(with heavy usage btw). But yesterday after update battery was down by 15% in 6 hours. Also screen on time is now around 8 hours, which should not have happened. Asphalt 9 with 4g connected consumed approximately 7-8% an hour before the update. Now it goes down 13-15% in 1 hour :( I have wiped cache partition immediately after update as many recommend. I hope they fix it.

  • Is anybody facing wi fi issues with this phone since my phone had wifi issues and how to solve them

  • That one thing that still sucks about Xiaomi. No android updates but just layering new MIUI under old android version to appear like new android version. Btw, 2.4ghz Wifi is better since it can go long range and more people can access it especially public wifi. 5ghz wifi is more like private for home usage only and you need to be really close to the router for great signal. Fyi, if you want to flaunt how feature rich Xiaomi is please dont. Samsung is doing features rich better than any brand. Hahaha.

  • have you wiped cache partition after installing the upadate ? if not , then do it

  • Yes, i am facing same issue after October update..

  • I am using 6GB variant an after installing 331 update i am facing issue with finger print sensor its not working properly need to touch multiple time then its work. Even facing issue with battery backup if the phone is in idle mode for 9 to 10 hr then battery is draining 15 to 17 % without usage. Before this update battery backup was normal with in 9 to 10 hr battery drainage was 5 to 6 % max to max 9 % in idle condition.

  • Yeah why not I will definitely share my display photo.

  • Everyone uses a protective glass. Yeah nice for marketing only.

  • It still has some kind of protection other than bare glass

  • Click a pic of your phone with RGB setting and upload it on free image sharing website, copy link and paste here and I'll upload my phone display colour too

  • Yeah camera is great on Xiaomi no one is denying that but you can get similar pics using gcam from Zenfone. It's not because of the lens used it's because of the post processing of gcam that is much superior than any other oem post processing.

  • Yes, definitely it is successful. I just had to install the saturation app from xda. That's why I rooted my mobile and I'm using custom rom because I want to use the Pie interface and some other features are also available in custom roms.

  • Lol show me which website. Contrast ratio is not even mentioned on there official website and on the e commerce website it is mentioned 1000:1. Check again and then comment

  • And like you said the reds are being boosted affecting all range of colours. Does this colour boost makes display better? maybe to the untrained eyes like yours but definitely not to colour accuracy people.

  • 1500:1 is exactly what rn5 pro have. Every websites states it check first then reply ;D

  • Better contrast haha by turning off whites and calling it good contrast. Rn5 pro has neutral colour accuracy. It's close to reality unlike fake colour boosts. Even LCD has good colour accuracy with higher contrast ratio. Blaming higher contrast is nonsense. You only get cream colour whites with poor materials I've seen on cheaper phones too ;D

  • Lol I use Netflix on my TV I never watch Netflix on cell phone. Not an issue. I've got 40 inch TV ;D

  • Rn5p going to get Android P lol where you get these news certainly a fake one.

  • Lol 2.4ghz is still a thing it is not outdated yet. I used many public WiFi I don't know if your country have public WiFi or not. But all public WiFi are on 2.4ghz even in the offices there is 2.4ghz band. In University as well. I didn't faced a single problem because of WiFi till now. But tell me something can n5p stream Netflix and Amazon prime in hd ?lol no Widevine L1 support ;p lol

  • And I already said it's because of oversaturated red colors many redmi phones have yellowish tint to display. Lcd manufacturers are different. And for contrast levels Asus has better contrast than n5p you can clearly check on any site. Then come here and comment

  • Again you showed your knowledge. Zenfone has better contrast ratio than n5p check again son

  • plus xiaomi gives updates based on miui even after android upgrades has stopped, redmi note 5 pro can use both 5 and 2.4 ghz wifi while asus cannot and don't try to start again with your xda developer forum solving that too :p

  • pocophone is not targeted towards US market it is mainly for asians.

  • lol its display is made from cheap materials. even redmi note 5 pro has the same contrast ratio as zenfone but the whites are calibrated equally across the colours. high contrast is just an excuse because flagships have higher contrast but doesn't have cream whites. i don't roll back to older ui because it is necessary for me to get recent updates and security patch. i don't mind little bugs and all and also because older ui is not bug free as well and lol redmi note 5 pro is going to get android p. It's confirmed. So your accusation does not hold any value as such and lol 5ghz works excellent as it is faster. range is not an issue because it is working just fine in and about my house. The only reason why 2.4ghz has wider range is because its old and lots of wifi routers utilise this band which is also the reason why its slow because of data traffic.

  • At least these phone supports LTE in my country. Not like some poco phone that doesn't even support LTE in US.

  • You don't even know why it showes cream white color and you're talking about display lol. Cream white is caused due to oversaturation of red color can be fixed via rgb settings and many xda members already did it ever heard about that ? I don't think so. Yes I forgot Xiaomi only gives one major update lol. Rollback is necessary if I feel a build buggier I can go back to old one. Now I'm 100% sure that you are a noob child giving excuses. 2.4ghz is still present in major places. 5ghz has better speed but 2.4ghz has better range.

  • I don't need to flash global ROM lol. Why would I want to roll back to older android version nonsense. I can even get on your so called pixy os lol but I like miui and it makes sense to receive official updates and security patch. Cream white is a hardware issue not software and hence cannot be solved through software no matter what settings you put. 5ghz is way faster because there's not much traffic compared to 2.4ghz. I have a modern 5ghz band WiFi router

  • Every phone whose source code are available got some custom roms. And in this case Asus got lots of roms due to better specs at lower prices and company providing source codes. Asus XDA forum is filled with many ROMs. Some are official like Lineage and some are unofficial.

  • So that doesn't mean I have to flash gcam or any script to enable camera2api. I have this phone since 4 months and no problem with wifi probably no one talks about wifi bands as 2.4ghz is still present at max places due to higher range than 5ghz band. And cream white lol there is a custom settings in my phone to adjust colour. You go enjoy miui buggy rom. Now you cannot even flash global rom according to Xiaomi and anti roll back is still there ;p lol

  • Also another fun fact is that people buy Xiaomi phones because they have wide fan base with wide range of roms to choose from.

  • Lol understand first, then comment. If you're on stock UI from Zenfone you cannot install gcam apk without enabling a2pi. If you're on external ROM means you're already rooted. Enjoy your cream white display and 2.4ghz wifi ;P

  • Yup they're bad phones no argument on that. But 7k variant has metal body fyi.

  • Lol again a noob comment here. I can install gcam directly with enabling camera2api which miui users don't even know about. Already told you I'm using pixy os don't tell me about flash I used Nexus 5 for many years with lineage os. You're exposing yourself in evey comment. A Noob want to be a pro.

  • Like I said I've never experience any ad interference in my usage. Had I faced such cases my opinions would differ but no I've never seen any ads popping out while using apps. It's just some band of youtubers trying to bring down miui. Btw new Zenfone max M1 is out and it's running on outdated Snapdragon 430 made from plastic while you're getting Snapdragon 450 with metal built on Redmi 5 plus lol. Looks like Asus is back on their original self. Shoving out cheap phones.

  • Lol really people only select miui because it has feature that's all. In stock you have to enable everything using minimal adb and fastboot. Probably a noob user doesn't know how to use gestures, themes via substratum and many other things on stock. So indirectly people using stock are not noobs. People using Miui are noobs

  • It was just a troll poll and there are lots of noobs like yourself. Miui is for advance users. As simple as If I hide photos in miui you wouldn't be able to unhide it ;p

  • Miui ads can also be disabled. No biggie. Man I don't need to argue about some damn camera a2pi. Isn't important to me. And I've been flashing roms, apps since 2013 and I feel miui is best UI. You cannot directly install gcam APK that's why it's called flash. Do you even know what is flash?

  • That's why they deleted the poll of miui vs stock from Twitter

  • Lol stock is for Noobs. Simple and easy to use

  • What about battery because after October update my phones seems battery drainage in standby mode

  • Stock UI is not for noobs too. Come with some better points to defend miui.

  • Lol just by your comment I can say that you are a noob. Flash ? Really ? You don't even know that youtube ads can be disabled and you are telling me lol. Do you even know about the HAL3 code and adb commands. I already installed pixys os 2 with newer gcam version you go play with your miui and ads. And how many Xiaomi phones do you use mi5, mi6, note5pro, mia2. Go play with your miui dummy fanboy...

  • I don't see ads on YouTube lol you should know how to disable that lol. Tv ads doesn't bother my experience unlike miui where you see ada while opening an app. Ads inside the app and ads inside the settings. If you want to argue that Xiaomi Miui is better than Asus max pro ui get some better points

  • I've never felt ads aren't part of any profit for businesses. YouTube you see ads, TV you see ads, websites you see ads. They're definitely there for profit., Not a big thing lol. Get a solid base to argue don't just throw irrelevant tantrum. Personally I've never had issue with ads on miui as I've turned off all ads and they never interfered. Miui is not for Noobs who doesn't know how to turn off ads.

  • I love this phone, battery backup is best... I would like to call it monster... Ram management is super good.., I compared its battery backup with many phone of same capacity and even little more but it beat easy to 5300 mah battery.. Best part is, it is very light in weight and don't feel so heavy and big... awesome i love it

  • Dear Asus Team, Please provide updates related to radio. Vividhbharti & some other channels are missing.

  • Lol bend test are overrated they're not practical. Even flagships breaks on drop test. Nobody is going around bending their phones in and out. It's only meant to entertain and get views on YouTube. I'm still using mi5 and it's working great and according to YouTubers so called 'tests' it should be broken by now lol. Let me guess you've finally found out that you could flash gcam without rooting through YouTube tutorials lol.

  • Still Xiaomi bend during bend test and broke during drop test. But as far as I saw on the yt Asus passed both bend test as well as drop test. So don't talk non sense. Asus only had one con that was camera which is already solved by gcam. After going through your comments I don't think you even know about how to enable gcam without rooting and the comment that you made about thanking Xiaomi for bringing rates down ? Seriously you dummy think that Xiaomi doesn't earn from MiUi ? That's why it is clearly written in there policy that ads are integrated part of business. Dumb fans only talk about warm display not about ads that shows how dumb your company is making you. And don't tell that you can disable the ads it's just recommendations that means personalised ads. Even after disabling recommendation and msa people are seeing ads.

  • Yeah mi5 that little piece of biscuit right ? We all know what happened to that phone.

  • What are the changes brought by recent OTA update?

  • I owned 6GB variant one, I'm satisfied with it because glass back is easily shatter and inreplacble without having to deal with so much hassle. The OS is Android One Oreo but update are sent by ASUS I believe. There is no gallery icon on app drawer but it has snapdragon gallery which can't be seen anywhere so I will recommend you to install Simple Gallery app. Camera is great and fast with 4K at that too (16MP both front and back + 5MP). Video recording can also reach 4K. The launcher is great but still recommend you to use NOVA Launcher. Zenmotion is still here so there's that. The LDDR4X 6GB RAM speed is 5.8GB/s, yes it is that fast as test with A1 SD Benchmark.

  • Glass protection are a free gift to 6GB variant for only limited time/first launch. The back might be plastic or a metal.

  • Back is solid metal with excellent finishing, no gorilla glass, so buy tempered glass for this,

  • @Shan Glass protection isn't listed but you can expect a durability of Gorilla Corning Glass 3 or higher. You can watch review on YouTube. And for the back it is aluminium metal except for the top and bottom part which is made plastic. But it bends nicely with the metal so you won't notice it's even plastic

  • nope, the back is made from metal, only the top and bottom is made from plastic

  • Got an update. 433 MB.

  • Wow, SD636 at this price, but it has to glass protection, will this affect? and is the back part of this made of plastic? want to buy this one, pls help

  • That's right a guy from Google representing a company is big in itself. I know he left Xiaomi but he kicked things off that's why I said 'was headed' and vice president was still a head. He was not like a side worker. He was working directly with the development of the company which gave a good start to Xiaomi and now Xiaomi is on top 4 smartphone manufacturers in the world. Zenfone is trying to copy xiaomi's market strategy by cutting price and implementing good processors otherwise they were selling Zenfone 2 laser with the same price tag and Redmi note 3 which was a much faster phone.

  • "the company was headed by hugo barra who was one of the co founder of android itself". kah kah kah kah kah kah ! For your acknowledgement Hugo Barra are now is the vice president virtual reality division at Facebook. He already left Xiaomi for almost 2 years and he never headed and founded Xiaomi because at Xiaomi he only hired to serve as a vice president for international marketing. Lei Jun is the president of Xiaomi and co-founders. the founders of xiaomi are Lei Jun (president), Lin Bin, Dr. Zhou GaungPing, Liu De, Li WangKiang, Wong Kong Kat and Hong Feng. /en.wikipedia.org/wiki/history_of_xiaomi Xiaomi phone sucks and their fanboys are annoying.

  • Plus bigger sales means better profit and hence we as customer get's better quality as a byproduct for the success.

  • Lol just because you're delusional doesn't mean market shares are not true. Xiaomi never copied anything from zenfone. Infact zenfone is the one copying xiaomi. If you look back zenfone max pro has close design similiar to Redmi note 3. Xioami was one of the first one to bring metal and 2.5D glass phones into midrange phones while asus was busy shoving out plastic mid range phones and isn't max pro first asus's mid range metal phone? Snapdragon is not owned by asus lol. There are lots of phones which comes with Snapdragon processor. Bigger number means definitely better because people trusts and buy their phones. Otherwise there are lots of chinese phone lying around with good or better specs than Xiaomi phones but people don't trust them so their sales are low and hence doesn't share the same success as Xiaomi.

  • How to set screen saver on Asus zen MPM1??

  • Bigger doesn't neccesserily mean better . . . ASUS makes nearly always better phones and is much more innovative. Shaomi copying a lot of things (and specs) from ASUS. The case SD625 (ZF 3) just discussed here earlier. They made offen some cheaper Zenfone copies. . . . and who can check that sometimes to impressive sales quantities?! it seems like a fouling marketing bsh

  • It's not just another chinese phone. It's a major chinese brand from china. The company was headed by Hugo Barra who was one of the co founder of android itself. Chinese phones are primarily dominating the current smartphone market shares. With Huawei beating apple and coming at second place below samsung and Xiaomi just a step behind apple coming at fourth place. Zenfone is nowhere near the calibre of Xiaomi.

  • How to set screen saver on Asus zen MPM1??

  • Atleast Google is an American company rather than Xiaomi which is Chinese based. Sorry, I won't delve on your issue, it's a personal choice. Also, Asus is Taiwanese which is still not Chinese.

  • I am using this fone from last one month and very much satisfied with performance. But the problem is if i use this fone continous for 2 days without restart, typing speed get slow and have to restart. After restart it work again for 2 days then same problem.

  • nope, not interested in xiomi... I don't regret buying the phone I'm just expressing my experience in using this phone, hopefully v.327 fix the issue on camera/screen brightness synchronization, I will try this update later or maybe if possible to skip this once fota for v.331 become available. Honestly, its my first time using a near stock android but I know that I would need a lot of searching and trying which apps for customization that would suit my taste. Its actually more fun and keep me busy.

  • after the new update i see that brightness has improved, even at a minimum level the screen is bright enough

  • ..."Overall my old zenfone 3 max is still better after oreo update except it cannot match the hardware of zenfone max pro which is way faster"... Seems that near stock android like in the MPM1 is not for your taste. Clearly you'd better go with a 'manufacturer's customized UI on Android" kind of phones, like Asus phones with ZenUI....or perhaps even Xiaomi phones with MIUI (seems that you're only too shy to say this in the first place). But why you're not installed the latest update version before you conclude is I don't understand. Because even on v327, all (software related) bugs you mentioned above were already gone. So you're review is false from the start, because it's not actual anymore. My advise: sell your MPM1, go buy phone with ZenUI or MIUI, which you seems like them more, even if perhaps they don't have same/stronger hardware than Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1...(LOL)....perhaps you'll be happier

  • After a week of using and sticking on software v.318 (newest might be v.331), the only issue so far is the screen brightness when camera is open, it is noticebly changing the screen brightness which is annoying. Installed microsoft launcher which is the closest to zenUI and was ad free except the double tap to turn off screen was not exactly as how zenmotion works but suitable alternative. Since the phone is almost pure android, the icons was ugly specially for status menu, like carrier signal battery etc. Overall my old zenfone 3 max is still better after oreo update except it cannot match the hardware of zenfone max pro which is way faster.

  • Tech wise Xiaomi is not far ahead. Without the low price Xiaomi is nothing but just a chinese phone. Asus handling marketing differently and that contribute to higher price than usual. Xiaomi is just lucky to be chinese brand that mostly sold online.

  • Not me buddy, It's smooth here

  • Oh man you people are never tired of this do you? Man, your claim has to be proven by a meticulous comparison down to the analyze and breaking the phones' body material etc..Certainly I will never listen about it from you or your kind of guy.. And I really don't care about all of that.. 5000mAH battery is good,...bigger battery is better for me any effin day than an effing steel body side.. And battery is only just one aspect of this Asus good things- or okay to satisfy you- of what makes this Asus is better than your effin Xiaomi. You should think about what mr.Bijay thokar (if I write it right) post right before you..m Oh and why do you people always use anonymous ID? Did somebody pay you people to write things like that anywhere? What a pity, man.

  • did anyone faced problems with switching internet between two sim its very slow

  • Actually zenfone used cheaper materials because even with 5000 mah it is lighter than redmi note 5 pro. They're definitely not built alike. Sides on zenfone max Pro is made from plastic while it's metal on Redmi note 5 pro.

  • After going through around 500-600 videos in terms of camparision, analysis, specs comparison n configuration finally I got the best phones ever produced..this is the best phones I have ever used in 32 years..battery is a devil n can resist any challenges. OMG I have no words for this phone.i never took time for any survey but personally this phone is completely satisfying , no lag and performance is Awesome in 1 word..10 on 10 Asus for the best quality product under reasonable price..keep it up!!

  • Zenfone Max Pro M1 is cheaper or about the same price with Xiaomi RN5P. Also almost the same in quality, except for some differences between the two here and there. For Xiaomi it is the normal strategy of them. Differently than Xiaomi,..for Asus it is not usual. They should have forced to cut the price to be able to beat Xiaomi on the same price segment with almost similar quality. Even their own Asus Zen Max (not pro) is the victim of this Max Pro 1. I'm sure one of the sacrifices is Asus as a company has to cut their profit for doing this (reduce price on MPM1). And I think Asus is succeed greatly in their effort with this MPM1 on the purpose to beat Xiaomi's recent years' solo domination as Cheap but good product on it's price segment. And the winner is buyers. Quality is far from bad.in fact I really think, along with the RN5P, this Asus MPM1 are the best phones (including in the quality) in their price range. Almost the same, but different. And I choose the Asus.

  • I use 327. All is good. Today I read Asus gives new version of OTA update, but I haven't got it. So as I'm writing this, 327 may not the latest update version anymore.

  • Yeah and the asking price was over the top. Xiaomi showed zenfone how it's done by bringing out phone at a low price with the same processor. You should be thanking xiaomi, because Xiaomi made budget phones worthy as it was far ahead of it's game by bringing out good processor phones at a low price especially when asus was giving Snapdragon 415 on zenfone 2 laser while Xiaomi went ahead and introduced Snapdragon 650(Redmi note 3). Because of xiaomi, asus is rethinking their marketing strategy and brought down the price of it's phone relatively lower to match the competition and hence zenfone max pro was made. Lot's of you saying xiaomi makes cheap phones but if you look at it, zenfone is cheaper than Redmi note 5 pro so does that mean zenfone uses much cheaper materials than Xiaomi?

  • Dude, aren't you tired wasting your time saying bad things about Asus MPM 1 that we love - no matter how stupid we might are compared to you - compared to the Xiaomi you love 'on Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1" GSMArena's Opinion Column, instead on the RN5P or other Xiaomi phones opinion column?

  • Then you're not in the category of people like I said. Simple. People in that category are they who badmouthing Asus MPM1 when comparing it to RN5P, sometimes in brutally ways. If you don't then you're not. (BTW you only use Anonymous nickname, how can we tell which one you are?). Plus, I tell you, the MPM1 Asus screen is NOT yellow. Yes, the default display setting is yellowish (warm display temperature, it's actually good for human eyes' health), but like somebody said before this, it's easily can be change on the same setting section to be turned into 'cold display' which is more blueish like RN5P default display (which I'm using now cause I do prefer the 'blueish' or cold display).

  • Lol it looks premium but has a weak internal right? This came out at the time of Xiaomi mi5 and mi5 had better camera and processor and most profoundly at the same price as zenfone 3. Better camera than any xiaomi phone? You still need to learn lot about technology. Let's talk about it?

  • I'm not in frustration or anything but this is a competition to phones like Redmi note 5 pro so it makes perfect sense to compare them. Zenfone max pro has yellow display cream whites that's why I went with redmi note 5 pro's more neutral colour.

  • Let them say what they want. They're just jealous or really hate Asus MPM1, an Asus phone that, unusually this time, not only 'powerfully beat' their favourite brand in qualities but also in 'cheap' price segment where usually single dominated by their brand. They'll talk anything, from fact to rumour to brutally false fact, sometimes before even using this phone or earn the fact for even once,...wasting their time on GSMArena's Asus MPM1 opinion column, for all their various dishonourful frustrations. Many more will come, mark my word :) Perhaps some of them were confused or even already disappointed by not buying this Asus instead. LMFAO

  • Which version is it? Been trying to update but has no new update available. My latest version is 327

  • Thank you . . . for all that correct infos. and here some add ons as well: The ZF3-s were the first phones with that brand new SoC in 2016. with OIS in camera, USB Type-C, Hi-Res Audio and so on. (Which of them is broadly present in todays Xiaomis?) lol Xiaomi even today using that SoC (Mi A2 Lite f.e.), but can only make weak copiecats . . . Nice!

  • MPM1 can adjust the screen color..the default is warm (yellow)..if you dont like the warm color, u can choose cool (standard color)..

  • I too have the lifted edge all around evenly due to the slight curve with completely flat tempered glass that I'm sure fits a few different phones with similar basic format. Next time I'll be looking specifically for 2.5D glass.

  • Ok let's talk about it. Pick any Xiaomi phone launched at that time and take Zenfone 3 and see the difference. 1. The phone was launched with marshmallow and now running oreo with 2018 patch. 2. Camera is still far better than any Xiaomi phone. They just market that they used sony lens and so on but pictures on Xiaomi phones are always oversaturated. 3. It looks far premium than Poco F1.

  • Anybody here already using latest software 15.2016.1808.327? How does it improve your max pro?

  • Stock is good, even better comes OxygenOS...MIUI is rubbish...

  • I got new update

  • Can someone please confirm in case they have faced issue of finding it hard to fit the micro us b charger cable into the micro USB port on the phone. It's very tight in my new phone that I received just today. If I continue using it this way wondering it might even break sometime soon.

  • Everything thing is fine in this phone but I believe front camera could have been better also it is hard to find a screen protection for this phone due to 2.5d glass. The screen protection that I am using creates bubble at the edges which looks horrible on a new phone.Otherwise everything is good especially the battery it can easily last you a day

  • Why no nfc, whyyyy

  • Its your phone problem return it and get a new one .This problem can't be fixed using update. :)

  • I bought asus zenfone max pro M1 on three weeks.one week before suddenly right side touch didn't work .left side touch littile workking.bad experience in asus mobile.mobile now in service center.yesterday I call to service center the touch probs solved, but battery damaged.service center also bad experience.my bad luck..

  • Lol let's talk about zenfone 3 at 18k with Snapdragon 625

  • Before you go far try to erase dalvik cache & cache (reboot into recovery mode, turn off, turn on by press power button and volume down together until the asus logo come). See if that works. If yes, it's one of some Common android problems.

  • Read my previous answer... (Sorry, forgot to click Reply to your post).

  • DL & Install xda Navigation Gesture from xda forum or playstore, setting it up, done. (Needs rooted phone or adb if on unrooted devices).

  • I bought Asus zenfone Max Pro M1.After fora update pre-installed Camera app is not working, if clicked, makes screen black and it freezes. Is this a software or hardware problem? Shall I return this product, or wait for software update?

  • Why it doesn't have navigation gestures to support full screen like the one in Redmi note 5 I hate these buttons occupying screen space...

  • why don't you go to POCO topic there are a lot of thigs to talk about. lol Your Shaomi is known of using low quality displays and other lower quality parts later in production (cam sensors and so on).

  • You enjoy ads on Xiaomi lol.

  • And you are stuck with lots of ad's lol😃😃

  • Unfortunately there is no gallery... I have not updated it to latest .327 release, probably will fix the screen brightness issue when camera is on. Does anyone here have comments on that latest update?

  • Enjoy your yellow display lol.

  • You're still giving away your personal information to google lol dafuq you talking about. I can flash custom ROM anytime on xiaomi phones. Lots of option to choose from. Xiaomi has more developers than Zenfone.

  • I would rather have a simple yet secured phone. MIUI includes a lot of unusable applications and these Chinese made applications requires too much permissions which compromise the user's privacy.

  • LOL I'll be just laugh now to all the funny xiaomi lovers and asus zenfone max pro m1 haters' posts here with all the fake facts etc.. Funny how they (yes You!) bother to spend their time to visist here and writing bad thing about asus MPM1.. The more people like that here, the more proof of how good Asus MPM1 actually is... Especially in beating Xiaomi, esp the RN5P, its direct competitor, right on the butt Enjoy it dude LMFAO

  • Do not buy. Bought it on 15th Sep, 2018 and device stopped working from 28th Sep (13 days) phone totally dead both flipkart and Asus wiped off their hands saying it is out of replacement period. ASUS service center told me it is motherboard problem and entire mother board has to be replaced. According to them they can only repair not replace but I insisted them for replacement why should i be going for repair for brand new phone. Pathetic customer service, this was first buy from ASUS and I am never going to buy anything from ASUS now on

  • Pure Android is for Purists. Noobs use Miui as they can't customize correctly

  • Miui has lots of features and customisation. Stock doesn't come with this. You are stuck with less feature and plain and simple android. Simple are meant for noobs not miui.

  • Lol you don't know about colour calibration. Redmi note 5 pro has better neutral colour display than your zenfone max pro. Whites are cream colour on zenfone max pro.

  • Please tell me camera review of front and rear in latest version of 6/64

  • You don't know nothing about recent MIUI development do you? It's not me,...YOU should Learn before you blame me. Ok..This is fact (and some are insider fact) for you all, Xiaomi lovers - who hate Asus (MPM1) as the strongest competitor of the Xiaomi right now- ...(so much that you all somehow want to spend your time visiting and badmouthing Asus MPM1 here in its own gsmarena opinion column...Why waste your time here instead writing on Xiaomi (RN5P) gsmarena opinion column?) That's why I don't bother to tell the detail (of Xiaomi - like I'm doing now, before I'm being accused as if I wrote false fact). Because here is the Asus MPM 1 opinion column, not Xiaomi RN5P's. But since you said that, ok..here they are: About bootloader unlock *In the old days, Redmi 1s guarantee would not be void if we root the xiaomi. It was still good hearted Xiaomi and MIUI. Plus with its brand low cheap price, by cutting corner here and there including cutting the marketing and promoting chain etc, Xiaomi succed in getting its image of cheap (first,..then) good enough if not best phone... for the price. THAT'S WHY, Xiaomi sells alot. Not because other reason,..man. Xiaomi succes is because its cheaper price than competitors. *Starting from Redmi 4 if I'm not mistaken, little by little Xiaomi makes it harder and harder for the users who'd like to Unlock the Boot Loader. Once it only needed 1 day to get approval, then it needed 3 days, then 7 days,...so on..until now you may wait for months and still doesn't get approval for it. *Now the 'insider' fact. You will see it happen in the near time than now. Why do they do that? Because they would stop it (bootloader unlock etc) step by step. Why? Because to maintain their cheap price they have to sell ads. Why is it too hard for you to understand that? Cheap price mean some sacrifice, and that's including selling advertising to the users. The more ads, the cheaper Xiaomi phones can be, right? See my word, it already happen on your recent and future MIUi. In the near end they'd stop it, trap you with the ads, preventing them to break their contract with the advertisement, (and believe me, it's a "harder than usual mutual agreement contract between phone manufacturers and advertise companies)...one strong factor of some other factors that can made and maintain Xiaomi phone price to be cheap enough. But what makes Xiaomi mad is that today Asus is crazy enough to break "the cheap (but good enough) image" of a phone product that before only held by Xiaomi alone....and Asus succeed at that with this MPM1. Greatly. So great that you all are become mad when youre here LOL. Now you may still be able to stop the ads in MIUI, yes, but soon... you won't be able. Except you ditch the MIUi you love. I don't need you to believe what I wrote, especially that you come to this column about Asus MPM1, and made ugly comments, many are brutally false informations..... Why? What your purpose if coming here only to badmouthing Asus MPM1? So no, I never hope you to trust my word here. Here is GSMArena's "Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1" opinion column. So I come here often. I have, I use and I love this Asus,...but I never come to Xiaomi column anywhere, including in gsmarena if I would only to badmouthing Xiaomi. No. If you ever read some comments I wrote, I always said that; "Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, the strong contender for me to chose - before I decided to buy this Asus instead.. is also a good phone on its own.. each of them with their each pluses and minuses, so you decide it yourself", that's what I always write. And of course because Asus MPM1 is my choice, when someone here ask about how if it compared to X RN5P, here in ASUS gsmarena opinion page, of course I'd say what I think about the topic, with my reasons. Here... Ok? Not there...(like you do). Now a bit about you - who genuinely confuse about what phone to buy between the two brands; "If it's Xiaomi that you'd gonna buy, I strongly advise you to chose the series without MIUI. Ones with Android one instead perhaps, or etc." That's other factor that made this Asus MPM1 better, it used near stock android. Means very customizeable. (Contrary to one commentator here before me,....man..you're very wrong!)...This kind of near stock Android (Asus MPM1) is Not for Noob. User has to 'work it out first' to customize the phone to suit their needs. But when it done, it will suit them perfectly. Custom. I love it... Clearly then, Xiaomi with MIUI should fit the "phone for noobs" category better. What is noob? Noob is they who'd like MIUI or ZenUI more - type of guy.. Phones with installed UI where everything has been provided by the manufacturer for you, either you like it or not, either it useful or not. (Remember bloatwares, ads, bugs, etc? There you are). Ok enough. Good day.

  • u can turn of it by GALLERY settings

  • Redmi note 5 pro has blueish tint display while compared to this phone. lol Better you go to MIUI forum and reed the never ending list of bugs!

  • This phone has yellowish tint display while compared to Redmi note 5 pro.

  • Lol you can turn off ads in miui. Miui is not for noobs. Plus miui provides bootloader unlocking. Xiaomi is definitely not garbage it is the fourth highest smartphone production. Why? Because people are buying their phones.

  • No they will not give zenUI that's not possible. They are going to stick with stock android like UI

  • Don't share your half baked knowledge even a 5k mi phone support bootloader unlocking and I've an mi phone bootloader unlock with miui & have no ads coz I've removed their services...so don't say anything until or unless you use it

  • It would be great with ZenUI rather than pure android. Is it technically possible for Asus to update the phone with ZenUI in the future? I don't know if its a bug why the screen gets too bright when the camera is on, do others have this experience on their phone?

  • Just got 4/64gb, great specs but why did Asus ditch ZENUI? Is is possible for them to push an optional update with ZENUI in the future? launching camera app is pain in the eye as the screens increase its brightness to max.

  • Good in battery...Use for work for all day and still have 30% balance at the night

  • I like this phone but you are wrong you can unlock bootloader of any Xiaomi device , but its little bit time consuming unlike Moto phones ... Bootloader unlocking is must that's why I'm considering this over realme 2 pro ....

  • Is dis a LTE mobile?

  • ..(continued) ...to be unlocked by its user. So MIUI users will not be able to prevent ads on their own phones. Not like this Asus which from the early days has been given the BootLoader Unlocker tools etc openly on the website so its users can do whatever they want with their Asus MPM1...which is a very nice gesture to its customers.

  • What for? Reading the specs compared to this Asus MPM1, (or even to RN5P) it has no advantage except perhaps the cameras. More expensive, smaller battery, MIUI which full and getting more now, of advertising garbage, which Xiaomi won't let its bootloader

  • the Memory card slot appears as : microSD, up to 512 GB (dedicated slot) please confirm if it is Expandable upto 2Tb....

  • i need a sugesen for real time useage for performance , battery , durability for these mobile Asus M1 max pro (6gb), nokia 6.1 plus , moto one power .... kindly help me ..

  • do u think budget mobile can give u wireless charging... NO

  • Does the Asus Zenfone Max pro offer wireless charging?

  • Redmi Note Six (6)...

  • Very good smartphone. I'm very happy

  • max pro m1 or Redmi note 5 global?

  • The phone isn't the worst it's youre life😂😂

  • Xiaomi phone either Mi series or Redmi series are sucks especially their troublesome MIUI. Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 are 20 fold better than Redmi Note 5 Pro or AI Dual Camera and Mi Max 3. GTH Xiaomi. Long live stock Android, down with MIUI.

  • Yes. try using the one for Xiaomi note 5 pro. it fits perfectly.

  • Well your ID says you are a samsung lover, You want all others to buy xiaomi and you are criticizing Asus. Its serving great for me.

  • Well .. For camera install google camera it gives great quality pics. For other issues please check if you are in low network area, battery drains fast if you have low network as the phone would work extra on it. Same would be the issue for your slow network and internet. I believe you check with your service provider. I am using this phone and its a great valiue for money. Easily lasts more than a day on a charge and the network reeption is also great.

  • Yes because there's no such thing as sensot

  • lol redmi fanboy in nutshell xd

  • dont forget 5000mah xd

  • yeah, just get into camera and then look for settings and Look for “Redeye Reductions” and tap on it more then 5 times and then restart the camera, have been using this trick since ages.

  • Good news for users of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1, without root and installing other camera applications can use the video stabilization feature (EIS). The default camera application, Snapdragon Camera turns out to have hidden features. More about that on ZenTalk.

  • dont know y ppl are criticizing this mobile its a total value for money , snapdragon 636 at 10k is great deal the mobile performs well in all areas great mobile at this cost

  • Please give more information about phone because I want to buy please help me

  • Most hater of this phone is Redmi fanboys, the question is why? Are U feel threatening with Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 ? And why U are not feel the same with Oppo subsidiary brand Realme, that kind of phones also can be consider a direct threats to Redmi/Xiaomi, cheap phone with a quite good specs.

  • eMMC or UFS? and what about the RAM? 4x or only 4?

  • redmi lover, go and buy that, asus is way better then any smartphone in 15k segment

  • Worst fhone my life .worst camera, battery draining rapidly, light sensor not working properly, fingerprint very slow.internet speed also slow my Asus Zenfone max Pro M1.

  • best phone ever. super long lasting battery.. fast phone.. picture quality is ok.. loud volume.. great for gaming.. perfect

  • worst phone ever i see in my life poor performance dont buy this mi phones are thousand times relaible than this phone it is worst phone dont buy it for free also

  • Yes, you can but due to curved edge tempered glass edges will not seated properly, but you will not feel it when display is on.

  • Yes indeed. without the shadow of a doubt.

  • Can I fix screen guard on this phone ?

  • Sorry for my some typos and english limitation

  • Wrong. For the 'hundred' times I'll reoeat what I wrote before in this very opinion column about Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. For all of you who complain about fingerprint sensor in this phone, I tell you again: That is not happen to most of us, so it's not the weakness of this phone. If you experience it, and if your phone is not defect (happen to any other brand, if you unlucky and get the defect phone, so you have to accept that you are unlucky, and perhaps go to the Asus anywhere near you to claim the guarantee because it should be still active now, and get the repairment or perhaps the replacement unit. But it doesn't mean that the phone as a product is bad. Because inly you experience that, me not, my friends who use this same kind of phones, not. Then before you decide that your phone isndefect and bring it back to Asus, you may check this: HAVE YOU UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM TO THE LATEST VERSION? The latest version as I'm writing this is version 327. And on this version None of your problem happen. Fingerprint on Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is good, fast etc..work nicely,..as nice as my Apple iPhones, and you know how good an iPhone was built. IF there's difference in this fingerprint reading section between this asus and iphones, it must be only few miliseconds only and I'M SURE normal human can't really notive that few miliseconds, except if you are a robot. Now I wonder are they who complained ever really read all comments in this very opinion column in gsmarena or not, or they are too stupid to understand. Or perhaos some competitor's pay them to write bad things, even if it's false, anywhere including here..I have feeling something like this will go up again sometimes in the future, I don't care. Never give false information to people, that's what we need.

  • right response very late or does not work at all planning to sell it soon

  • fingerprint sensot not work proper

  • Not only to lower tier android..even to high end android the Apple better ways of managing its OS (related to RAM, performance etc) is still relevant. And I never think it's (apple better technology in it's OS/phone hardware etc is exist) as unpleasant, I'm not and never tied to one technology/product/brand etc, whomever made better 'solution' I support them..I think to think the other way is not eise when talking about technology.

  • apple need less ram because of the custom NVMe, while most of lower tier android have to do with inferior emmc thus needing a bigger RAM. still apple always faster with less ram regardless. its unpleasant but its the truth. ^^

  • After so so many updates this phone is perfect but it still didnt receive android pie update for a pure android.

  • Does anyone know what option is Band 40 in LTE settings? Only options I have are names of countries/continents. Europe,Japan, Australia 1&2,Automatic.

  • i play pubg for 5 hours and it still leaves me with 45-50% battery, also you can increase the battery backup by playing the game on battery saving mode, just increase the brightness when you do that. the game does not lag at all

  • go to settings-general management-reset and tap on reset settings

  • Do you notice any lag in pubg

  • Go for a master reset.

  • snapdragon 450 vs snapdragon 636

  • Hello guys, from yesterday I'm facing this problem my phone display from the bottom part where the indisplay buttons are located are flashing the upper part of the screen. If u guys are facing same issues please reply

  • is there any different between global set and malaysia set?

  • Havent faced such issue yet. But mine often dont save photos I took.

  • Samsung a7 + perfectly fitted tempererd glass max Pro m1

  • Sometime files are automatically deleted when we restart the mobile. I lost most of the videos on this mobile. I had stored the videos in internal memory. There is some issue with this phone.

  • How to put the phone in vibrate mode only ??

  • Network is fine but usually lag while playing free fire. Friends with samsung and MI phone who played this game doesn't meet this problem using the same network jio. So I want asus developers to immediately resolve the problem asap...

  • Which one is better either asus max pro m1 or samsung j8 or xiaomi note 5?

  • No, the 3/32 wouldn't get worse to the point of bad, it'd be still OK, me too was almost bought the 3/32 version, but instead I took the 4/64, at that time not because all reasons I wrote, but because I was offered a good discounted price online LOL. Later on I'm glad I bought the 4/64 because...it has bigger internal storage, actually :)

  • Thanks for that. I did overlook "same performance" and now I fully understand what you meant about Pie. You probably guessed I've bought a 3gb and was being optimistic and you'd be right. Guess down the road I'd go Lineage OS 15.1 if stock Pie is noticeably worse off.

  • I dont say that, U said it. All phone update may have bugs but Xiaomi phone update always come with bugs. I know this because I own one Xiaomi phone, Redmi Note 3. At first its ok but after few months come the troubles. After 2 years of use I opts to Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. After 3 month I feel Asus its much better than Xiaomi especially on updates.

  • Not True AT ALL. Battery durability is NOT get worse after updating to the latest version (327 as I'm writing this).

  • This, Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. The nearer Xiaomi I could recommend above this MPM1 is perhaps the Poco F1. But the build quality of it is not good. Price to performance though is excellent. Problem for all Xiaomi phones which use MIUI are too much advertising, and little by little they lock their phone so we can't prevent it. (On Asus MPM1, Asus provides us with Unlocker tool for the bootloader openly on their website) So I can be completely free of ads (and other things I don't like) if I want to. Xiaomi is like selling your soul to advertiser for the cheap price you get from theiur phones. Also the corner cuttings to reach the cheap price can be on your loss. Xiaomi sales and after sales service are also not good. You may have different parts inside your two similar Xiaomi phones, for example, which is not only confusing but also hard to be managed to when the time comes. But having said all of that, Xiaomi is a Great phone manufacturer now, which must say something. That something is very important, PRICE that cheaper than their comparable products from their competitors. EXCEPT for this Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1.

  • Yes Kerbau Giler is right, this Asus MPM1 system update (AND other things than the update) has no annoying bug at ALL. Asus updates are good, make this phone better on each of their new system update. I don't have Xiaomi phones, but ALL of my friends who use it show me how buggy Xiaomi (updates and some things other than just the updates) is.

  • This or MiA2 Lite?

  • Don't you read the first word I wrote? I wrote: SAME PERFORMANCE. and so on.. You don't know nothing about Android P do you? I've already installed unofficial Android P for my (4/64GB version) and my friends' MPMs (a 3/32GB and a 6/64GB version). And I have compared them side by side. You know what? The Android P has some new features, for example, one of them is kind of aero graphical animation things and so on, which is/are not only add bit more demand/work load to the processors (which handled nicely by MPM1's Kyros, but also to the RAM, since they're a bit like multitasking job. Which is handled better by the bigger RAM MPM1. Our conclusion for that comparing session was like what I wrote on my earlier post you're comment on; Bigger RAM means MORE HEADROOM for the multitasking daily jobs, more when it comes to Android P OS. (Do you know how Android handled processing and memory tasks? How they different from iOS for example? For iOS, they can do better with smaller RAM. Android collect the garbage computation on RAM. Now you know why - not like iOS which doesn't need that big of RAM, on Android OS bigger RAM is better. And it's not always for the performance (much less for performance benchmark test result, which are not always good illustration for real daily use. And one of the conclusion from the comparing session is we really think, by what they're priced today, the 4/64GB is the better (if not best between the three RAM versions of MPM1s) value than the 3/32GB version. On Oreo and on the P.

  • I use this phone for about two months, now on system version 327 (latest update as I'm writing this, I really recommend anyone who use this phone to always update the system because Asus is good in this, getting rid of some minor/major problems from previous/older versions), from what your write I just want to comment: *No lag for me at all including on Amazon & Google, and I install 100 more apps, on my only 4/64GB Version. All smooth. I can say this while comparing to my other main phone, an iPhone 6S 128GB, and some other phones on my house (mostly iPhones), so it is a fair enough opinion IMHO. *No problem at all about Double contact on phone dialer app or Contact app. And I have almost 2000 contact names on it. Clearly it is your own problem, not the phone. Perhaps you have to check the contact synchronization setting on related apps (GMail, WhatsApp, BBM - this bbm android app is very notorius to create duplicates). *About lack of screenshot, background app management etc, well you said it yourself so you already know that this phone comes with an almost stock android version (which I love). Means that they and anything else can be done if we want them, with some custom effort by ourself. Not easy for some people who used to use a phone with manufacturer made User Interface (like Zen UI) but definitely not hard either.

  • So you're saying Zenfone doesn't have bugs? Way u trying to say huh

  • Don't update to the latest version. Battery backup has gone down hardly coming 2 to 4hrs

  • I am using this phone for past 3 days. Spent lot of time exploring the features and options. I came from Lenovo K4 Note to Max Pro M1 (6GB, 64GB) containing stock android. Honestly, felt little difficult initially but now slowing getting the things. See below review based on my usage so far. Performance: Overall good performance. Noticed minor lags sometimes in few apps such as Amazon, Google play music. But it is not noticed now. Phone is very fast and responsive. Battery: Well, it depends on how you use the phone. Works good for me with 2 sims, 4G continuously on for 1 sim, 4 hours of wi-fi, 2 hrs of media play. I get about a day's backup. Heating: No heating issues experienced so far. Camera: Not upto the mark considering the camera specifications. Pictures were better on my Lenovo K4. Asus must work on camera front. Also couple of options are not handy such as flash, timer, photo to video switch etc. Since it is a stock version you have to do bit more work. Audio: Good over phone speaker. It seemed better with earphone to me. However not for music lovers though. Issues: 1. Phone Dialer app shows duplicate contacts and you have no way of eliminating this. fortunately Contacts app does not have this issue. 2. Not an easy way to control app background usage. 3. No gorilla glass or equivalent. So be careful about drops. 4. Certain softkeys are missing such as screen shot, multi window etc. Asus has provided these in nice manner in zenfone max 3. Not sure why not provided in this phone. Overall a decent budget phone for providing good performance.

  • Great VFM phone. Excellent performance. Camera is average. Asus need to work on software since it is not fully utilising the camera hardware.

  • Promising speed does not lag even hours of playing

  • Which tempered glass suitable for this Mobile

  • thank you

  • Pubg can only go upto HD graphics and high frame rate max. Rules of survival max graphics. Asphalt 9 max graphics.

  • Lol customed skin comes with extra system apps don't you think? Stock android does not have those features. You get my point?

  • I still have redmi note 3 pro and mi 5 they're still good. But you can get Nokia or Honor play. But if I were you I'd pick pocophone without thinking as this will deliver all your gaming needs sd 835 is huge. But it's your choice.

  • Buy tempered glass that has only cutout for camera and and earpiece. Don't buy tje one with big cutout as this will cause scratches in long run. Keep your display safe as much as possible. This way you can keep your display quality good and won't need repair. Also if you want to sell afterwards it keeps the phone valuable. You can download wallpapers from miui forum. So many wallpapers for 18:9 displays. But no theme available for Zenfone.

  • It does have wallpaper. But if you format your phone, all the wallpaper will be deleted. No it does not have theme

  • This mobile not have inbuilt wallpaper and themes? which tempered glass suitable?

  • Hello. I like this phone a lot but my budget is 30 000 PKR max. Can anyone suggest a phone just like this in terms of gaming in my budget? No Xiaomi because they don't last more than 1-2 years.

  • This phone looks promising! The reviews are good & it seems popular as well. Can any kind person share their experience with heavy games like PUBG, Rules of Survivors, Asphalt 8 and similar games? I'll really appreciate it!

  • Do U understand what I'm wrote ? I wrote about Android Operating System, Stock/Vanilla/Pure Android and customized Android Skin like MIUI or Samsung Experience, not about apps.

  • Yes

  • But customised system apps are better than any third party apps

  • What the camera is not supporting and while calling the sound don't coming

  • Android P should run fine on 3GB. It's anything loaded, multiple apps and games when one or more are unoptimized is where performance may drop. Having more ram for general performance is a myth, though there are benefits.

  • Xiaomi's updates always infected with bugs. I have one Xiaomi phone at the beginning its ok but later the updates become pain in arse and on that reason I opts to Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) especially when its come with near Stock Android OS versions. Yes agreed with U, the OTA updates for this phone is good for now.

  • Why the sound is not so good in any branded ear phones.which earphones are best suited for this device??

  • is it otg capable?

  • Same performance but bigger RAM equal more headroom is better, especially to anticipate the Android P which will required more RAM. Daily multitasking job handled better too by bigger RAM. Also better price to performance.

  • It's better to get it late than having to pull back the OTA(s) like Xiaomi(s)... So far, I'm happy with Asus Dev Team in handling / pushing all OTAs. No detrimental effects after each OTAs. Xiaomi OTA(s) can go wrong anytime and have detrimental effect like deleting text SMS, wonky stand-by / deep sleep, adding ads & bloatware, etc.

  • Seems that you still have to be patient to wait until about 1st Quarter of next year (2019). But some unofficial ways to install Android P on Zenfone MPM1 has been out there on xda forums, albeit still in buggy state

  • Is 4gb variant add more performance? or it is the same performance to 3gb variant, because Im planning to buy this phone.

  • When Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) will get Android Pie updates ? I hope its dont take very long time to receive it.

  • Asus Max Pro is better than Nokia 5.1 plus and 7 plus.

  • Classic answers are: It depends on you, what you need, what you want from a midrange phone. and on and on.. for me, my budget and my needs; Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 why? Read what I first typed above, then you read, learn, compare etc and in the end decide for yourself. clue: unless you like advertisings on your phone, I don't recommend you to buy today X**** phones with MIUI inside it, they brutally sold you to the advertisers by buying their phones and they would prevent you to stop it by little by little locking your phone (bootloader etc) so you can't compromise with it...on your own phone. My Asus? from the start they provide tools to open the lock etc if I will openly on their official website. Even Apple iphone would be easier than the X phones. oh yeah and the after sales service? You'll gonna miss it big time while actually you'll be really need it considering how they cut quality to reach cheap price. And etc. good luck

  • Max pro m1 is better or Nokia 5.1 plus Please answer. I want more efficient mobile

  • note 5 pro

  • I'm planning to buy a new phone. Which is the best midrange phone according to you guys?

  • reset Network

  • Nope, not the latest update (v327), because I'm on v327 so are my friends on the local forum about this phone,, ande problems you mention don't exist.

  • M1 does NOT support Wi-Fi band 5GHz... So, most likely the hotspot at that particular premise only emit Wi-Fi Band 5GHz...

  • Latest update got ringtones bug and notification bug.

  • Am using MPM1 for about few weeks now, going anywhere, tried many wifi hotspot and routers, never even once had bad experience about wifi like you do. Perhaps you haven't update your system yet.

  • Version "B" has all the bands for all telcos in Australia. I have the 6/64gb "B" version model. Both sims run on 4G simultaneously. On Telstra usually on band 28.

  • overall .. Battery Performance is superb.. Fast charger with Tronsmart 3.0 Fast Charger will make it charge for almost 2 and a half hours from 35% - 100% .. and it will last for 1 whole day playing.. the only problem I see is the touch screen is not sensitive enough.. you need to tap harder sometime.. overall its 8/10 quality over price, value over price..

  • My new Phone Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) ZB601KL can not find the wi-fi network on some wi-fi hotspot, this sucks.

  • Selfie Mirror option is not working??

  • w/c one is the version B? any ideas? 3/4/6 gig? or if theres a specific model #? thanks

  • When kept in total silence, the phone doesn't vibrate. How to set vibration on for incoming calls when your phone is in silent mode ?

  • Version "B" has band 28

  • Whats the effect/consequence if your phone doesnt support your preferred carrier's LTE band/frequency? im considering this but it doesnt seem to have the band 28(700). thanks

  • I use Lg bluetooth, I get good sound with very high volume and it is stereo.

  • It's been about a month since I bought this phone, and I have no regrets. Battery lasts a little over a day with heavy use, sometimes even longer. Heavy gaming such as PUBG, SAOIF run smoothly with very minimal to no lag. Phone doesn't heat up as much as I anticipated, it barely heats up at all. As for the amount of time it takes to charge, takes about 2 hours or less. Camera quality is decent in a low-light environment as it gets grainy, in a well lit environment however, pictures look great. The only problem I have with this phone is that there are barely any good cases for it, other than that it's worth it. Global Warming is also a problem, for it affects our world.

  • Read about Aukey

  • Been using this phone for 2 weeks so far so good Battery last for 14-15 hours (data always ON) I can play games like PUBG,AOV,ML and Rise of Civilization all at high graphics Custom android Experience If you are looking for a phone that can give you excellent gaming experience I recommend this Phone (Value for Money Mid-Range phone)

  • Thank you. I have to buy a proper stereo bluetooth earphones then :) Is there any recommendation (brand and series) for that? (cheap low end stereo bluetooth earphones which still 'acceptable' if not 'the best' in it's low price range).

  • Does anyone know which model or brand of 16MP rear camera sensor is the 6GB RAM version?

  • its a good mobile

  • Android security level L1 is present on this phone and you can watch HD videos on Netflix or Amazon prime without issue

  • Hi all. I have been using this phone 4/64 since about 20 days now. i must say this turns out to be the best decision i made. i was planning to go for RN5pro. But as i was getting this one for 3k cheaper so i went in for it and this has worked wonders. The Display is vibrant. Even under direct sunlight. Battery life easily more than a day . Though there is room for improvement. but there are times when i charge my phone again almost at the end of the next day that is with moderate usage. Dedicated SD card slot. Camera yes RN5P had better but asus has sent me timely updates and now i have latest update already on my phone which has improved camera quality a lot. You can also install Google camera without rooting your phone which gives you excellent quality pictures. BT on my beats sounds really good and wired is even better. Audio speakers are loud though highest volume cause a little distortion so i keep one setting lower than max. UI is bloatware free. No heating issues at all. Dont think could have got a better deal. Plus flipkart offers phone protection plan for this model which is awsome.

  • I use YouTube stereo channel test(s)... All vix gives proper left & right channel separation... No need to download or use apps...

  • Can anyone confirm if they are able to play amazon prime video in HD quality on this phone? Are you able to see the HD icon below the slider? Also what about Netflix? do you see HD next to shows name? Lot phones are unable to stream Netflix and Amazon Prime in HD despite having Widevine L1 hence confirming before buying the phone.

  • Can anyone confirm if they are able to play amazon prime video is HD quality on this phone? Are you able to see the HD icon below the slider?

  • Yes I've check that setting (turn off the mono audio on Accessibility). Perhaps it's only my bad BT earphone. BTW, Did you test that with a stereo test app? Are you sure that it's really stereo on your BT earphone? I ask this because with my said BT earphone, both of it's 'speakers' do putting out sound, but without stereo separation between left and right audio channel.

  • Both my cheap (USD5) & premium (USD80) Bluetooth earphones work in stereo channel... Check the "Accessibility" settings that "Mono Audio" is off.

  • I don't use swipe to wake up, but two tap and fingerprint to wake up, and it's fast. No problem at all, fingerprint speed no difference than my iphone (if it is, must be only in milisecond and not felt at all in real world usage). BTW, I'd like to repeat my asking, if anybody has a stereo bluetooth earphones (or other bluetooth audio device) please share here the result, is the sound via bluetooth only mono or stereo? (Test it with one of many stereo audio test on playstore). Ty in advance.

  • there is lot more to be improved in asus swipe to wake up does not function most of the time or it functions late same with double tap to wake up fingerprint has improved a lot ..but still not fast as my moto g5 plus but still value for money..

  • I don't think Redmi Note 5 Pro is the best for this price range, nor necessarily better choice than this Asus Max Pro 1. So do some other people here think. Because for me, this MPM1 is better. But you're entitled to your opinion as I am, and I think the RN5P is a good phone too. With all pluses and minuses compared to this MPM1, and thy're so close, almost like twin brothers. And I agree that in this price range, the alternative to the MPM1 is the RN5P.

  • On Asus zengone max pro m1 have software crassed problems.......and ....this app can't responding problem....???

  • i have been using this phone for two week now my honest review..if u have a tight budget of Rs 10000, go for this mobile or else get note 5 pro not any major problems with this mobile but if u have money go for the best.. note 5 pro

  • Hi All I am using this mobile for five days it is very good but I found one problem while typing when I touch y it types it types t or u, only single time this problem, after restating application it works ok, any one found problem like me? Where can I found free ram in setting please update me If any one have idea

  • There is a gallery there named photos from google. There is also a file manager named files also from google. And last, to take screenshot, press power and volume down buttons at the same time.

  • Never experienced that

  • Hi all MPM1 users, need your help to check about audio through bluetooth; Is it only support mono? (Can't be stereo?) Or is it only my bad bluetooth earphones? Thank you in advance.

  • I have Asus m1 pro 4gb varient I have issues in call speaker. sim is Vodafone is it bug or hardware issue I haven't updated my phone

  • I am using this fone from last one month and very much satisfied with performance. But the problem is if i use this fone continous for 2 days without restart, typing speed get slow and have to restart. After restart it work again for 2 days then same problem.

  • I am using this fone from last one month and very much satisfied with performance. But the problem is if i use this fone continous for 2 days without restart, typing speed get slow and have to restart. After restart it work again for 2 days then same problem.

  • The UI is a personal choice so I won't go against you. But to say that stock android is boring is a mistake. For me, it's better to have a simple and basic UI than to have a lot of bloatware which you can manually add on your own preference.

  • This is a gd phone.u can buy high range phone if want all features.

  • Because I don't take selfie seriously, Because I don't buy this phone for selfie purpose, because I don't need my phone to be able to trigger selfie camera by it's fingerprint sensor, the usual camera trigger button is enough for me. That's why

  • 1) and 6)... I don't experience that with my MPM1 2) Call Recording is forbidden by law in many countries. It makes sense that Asus doesn't want to pre-installed apps for that purpose,..and... 3), 4) and 5)...One of Asus MPM1 strength, special strength perhaps, is that it's OS is near stock (naked) Android Oreo OS. Why strength? Because it's light and fast and simple,...so simple that not many apps were preinstalled. Which mean that WE, the users, are the one who HAS to customize it by ourself to suit our needs & wants. Including decide, download, install and setting any additional Apps & etc for any purposes we need/want/like. Including all the function/apps you mention. I wonder why -here in GSMArena, a phone review website- simple fact like that can't be understood and being repeated asked and complained by many people like you? Do you really read the review of this phone in GSMArena before? Much important before you bought it? Because if yes, you shouldn't be ask nor complaining about thing like that

  • I am giving five star because 5 star review display first. Following issue are there in asus max pro m1 since inception of this device but there is no update by asus team & asus replying like anything: 1) Max pro m1 has a sound problem when ringing or a notification comes it only vibrates ..... Doesnt sound Most people are facing it please fix this as if a phone doesnt ring when a call comes then why the is the phone even a phone ...Asus dev. Team please please please fix this ringtone problem i am begging for a fix ...... We cant even return the phone ..... Please i am begging for a fix of this annoying ringtone problem ....... Please please. if asus phone dose't not server it purpose then how worth product. 2) There is no option for call recording asus saying to install third party app, Now days every smart phone has call recoding option. but it does not have. 3) There is no application for gallery & file manager. 4) There is no option for hiding application/file/folder. 5) There is no option for taking screenshot asus saying to install third party app. 6) MIC in earphone not working at all same problem persistent in all earphone including JBL. When connected to earphone music volume come to very low. also jack not working properly. All these problem posted on asus website long ago. But asus has not replied or replied unsatisfactory. and problem still continue. Please don't wast your money.

  • Why?

  • Does this have 3g only option available on network settings?

  • Ok. Perhaps it's only me that don't take selfie seriously :)

  • Very very less service centres. The only drawback.

  • It's useful to click steady picture especially on big phones. Just reach out for fingerprint sensor and wallah

  • Does ASUS provide a good service... Does it have a good service center facelities

  • What? Fingerprint sensor to trigger selfie camera? Not really needed anyway

  • Thank you

  • Only available on customed UI. Stock android doesn't have this feature.

  • Ready to use.

  • Go to data usage and disable background data

  • How to disable internet for apps which I am not using daily ?

  • What is SAR value of Zenphone max pro?

  • Agree. Asus has to fix their headphone amp. It's sound quality is good but the volume is not loud enough. Contrary with the main speaker, which is loud enough, but lack of good audio quality, IMHO.

  • I try hard to understand your english and typo post, and this is my comment: *Selfie with fingerprint? What do you mean? Trigger front camera with the fingerprint sensor? What for? That's not common, but perhaps there's app or Oreo setting to make it like that, I don't know and I don't think I (or anybody else too, perhaps) should have it on my phone. Click the default camera button to take selfie is enough. *Many functional features not available? What are they? On my Asus MPM1 there's no functional feature that not available. Do you know that this is a phone loaded with almost stock or naked android OS? You have to customize yourself (apps & settings) to tailor your suit. It's easy and it's good for people who like it to customized their phone to be very personal as they'd like it. *Battery poor backup? Blur photo taken? Poor WiFi connection? Never happened at all to me and many of my friends using the same MPM1 phones. *I have experiences with Asus Service Centres and their way of handling claims. All were good and smooth. *Anybody may choose what phones they prefer, Asus or other, but I can clarify that your statement is FALSE.

  • The Sound via wired headphones is less and the loud speak is very good. If you require more sound then you need to have Bluetooth headphones which support high volume in the bluetooth.

  • can any1 comment on the music playback via headphone..how is the quality n loudness of the music...

  • Not quite sure. He may be using an old model. Cause my friends also uses an Asus but still its in good condition.

  • P20 lite is physically appealing but internals are low. Zenfone has better processer, camera and battery. You decide

  • if i reduce display brightness light in night then its not reduce it will take 5 to 10 min for it. if not done i need to hold my hand on that sensor for some time then it reduce. for headphone if i plug headphone then it will take 5 to 10 sec to show your headphone connected. also not able to hear, it will take 5 to 10 sec, till time music play from speakers. for camera facility there is nothing in attractive in camera setting also in video mode (like slow motion option).

  • There is Google photos gallery

  • hey thanks ! i haven't think about the battery life. I mainly use my phone for browser game and social media, so I don't really mind about the selfie camera but it'll be nice if i can have a decent one too. I'm going to consider this phone.

  • Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) or Huawei P20 lite? Please advise. Thank you!

  • i havent gotten the update :/ whats up with that?

  • Do the system update, to the latest version

  • Got an update on tonight. it's system stability update. The best thing about Asus on this smartphone is: 1. Stock Android 2. Battery 5000mah 3. Camera Quality both on front and rear in 6gb variant 4. Regular Updates 5. The Sturdy Build Quality with Wonderful Display & Best in Class Sound Clarity 6. The Price for the above 5 bundled together

  • For me, this phone needs gallery (a simple gallery) and screenshoot (shake for screenshoot) app.

  • Hi, recently i mean one back i buy asus zenfone max pro m1. it had ringtone problem( unable to set ringtones individually .. after 1some hour automatically ringtone in silences mode). Some times finger print is also not working. when we do switched off and on then it working good. what is the solution ???

  • Also other important differences: (these 4 are very important IMHO),...CPU, Chipset, GPU and...Price. :)

  • Heck yeah,

  • It depends on you. But above them all I will choose Zenfone Max Pro M1. Because they have the same 4gb Ram variant but the difference is their battery life which will last 1-2 days depends on ur usage compare to other 2 brands u have mentioned. Zenfone Max Pro M1 has 5000 mAh Samsung A6/A6+ 3000/3500 mAh Zenfone 5 Lite 3300 mAh If you like taking selfie pictures maybe you can take the option of choosing Samsung A6 and Zenfone 5 Lite but Zenfone Max Pro is not that bad on their camera also

  • Yes

  • Well my experience the first time that I dropped my phone and I have dropped it 3 times in just 1 day and I felt bad at it, luckily I doesn't leave any scratches or crack on the glass. I can say that this phone is quite durable.

  • Issues on finger print scanner has already resolved, it takes 1 second to open ur phone and it is okay.

  • It has a built in. Just check for yourself on your nearest store on Asus phone. Go for 4gb/6gb variant. just ask them what is available on them.

  • There's a gallery on this phone. Google gallery. Someone just saying there's no gallery. B'cos they are a fan of some other phone brand that they kept pushing here

  • Mainly what your friend is blabbering about is the issues of Asus Motherboards the one that is installed on your desktops and laptops he/she must be pointing about that. It's quite a different story when you are talking about zenfone models
