Google Pixel 3 XL - User Reviews

  • I'm from Philippines, since android 10 installed on my 3xl i got a problem on my WeSing app, on scrolling song comments for about 3-4 minutes the app lags & freezes;(

  • Is there any chance of getting face unlock in near future?

  • How long play pubg from 100 to 0 at max brightness

  • If you're planning to have better processor for the purpose of some gaming and heavy day to day processing then go for the 3 xl. If you want to have an excellent camera with great performance in day to day activity and okay for some games then go for the 3a xl But keep in mind that you will lose water resistance, better speakers and wireless charging in the a model if they make sense to you.

  • Pixel 3 XL or Pixel 3a XL

  • If you don't like it, don't buy it. Simple as that. No one asked nor cares for your useless opinion so run away, never look back and go rant and cry somewhere else.

  • @blazinsckrubs If you had ONE more brain cell you would be the father of twins!

  • Came here just to reminder how fu ckcking ugly is this chin notch design situation XD, fkn blind google hobos, and wait what.. pixel 4 is still weird AF? yup, haha makes me cry from laugher XDF

  • @M24karat or Prospect9x or whatever name you are using today 1) If your eyes hurt after 10 minutes looking at the screen then you need to see an optician fast! 2) If you knew how to use this phone then you would know that you can select Night Light from the drop down menu on the Home screen or if you prefer to have it turn on/off automatically at times you choose then just go to Settings/Display/Night Light.

  • The Google pixel 3 XL's screen made my eyes hurt after only 10 minutes of use. My Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus has a built-in blue light filter that works very well. Im not sure why Google skipped the blue light filter but it's important. I prefer the less expensive Pixel 3a XL. I like the feel of it if feels sturdy for its price and the screen has no big droop in the middle for the selfie cams. I'm happy using my Google pixel 3a XL and most of all my Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus which is unbeatable even with the new iPhone 11 it takes the most unbelievable landscapes I've ever seen there're so beautiful it's hard to explain or to compare to any other brand. Especially now that the camera just got an update for night mode. And seems to be staying on top of updates enhancing the camera more and more. Once the Google pixel 4 comes out and the price goes down a bit then I'll will definitely look into the pixel 4 XL. I hope they fixed the bluefilter light issue in the pixel 3 xl. It's strange since I've never had a phone bother me before and I've had every Samsung galaxy S-Series since the first one came out Samsung Galaxy S3 back in 2012. And have had every Galaxy since then all the way up to the S10 Plus.

  • I have originally purchased the Google pixel 3a XL to save a whopping hundred dollars. After seeing the price difference and reading all of the reviews, I've decided to send back the Google pixel 3a to Amazon and purchase the Google pixel 3 XL from Best Buy for $100 more, a faster better processor and wireless charging and a slightly better camera it's well worth it, not to mention the magnificent and beautiful screen. Compared to the new Samsung Note, it's half the price and you're still getting a camera that in my opinion is just as good if not better. It's the extras that you're getting in the Samsung phones. I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 plus but I'm also opting for the Google pixel 3 XL because I'm big into photography and I heard it takes phenomenal pictures. With Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus in the new Note 10 you're getting a lot of extras a ton of memory, a super fast processor and Samsung Cloud. Which is still better than Apple anyday, because you can't do anything with an iPhone and iPad or any Apple device without a credit card you can't even make an account even if you're not buying anything which is a joke. With the price tag on the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus if it's to much, I definitely would go with the Google pixel 3 XL over pixel 3a XL spend the extra $100 you'll be happier in the long run who cares about the headphone jack who even uses one nowadays. I was truly amazed in the camera in the pixel 3a XL, in low light conditions compared to my Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus I can't wait to see how the Google pixel 3 XL compares! Once the Google pixel 4 XL comes out I probably will go with that instead of Samsung even though I'm a firm believer in Samsung I have everything Samsung from 2 60 inch Smart TVs. Have bought every Samsung Galaxy since galaxy S3 have had three Samsung tablets currently i have the tab S4. A Samsung smart refrigerator. And 3, 32 inch Samsung gaming monitors. But I am very impressed with Google's phones.

  • Is it true that the 3 XL has better sounding speakers? And have better audio recording than the 2XL? Can i hide the notch on the Pixel 3 XL? Or are the improvements of the 3 XL very incremental that it is barely noticeable? Or the 3 XL is a better investment?

  • thanks! And its performance? Did you have slow downs or any crashing with the apps? The 4gb of RAM are enough or is it a deal breaker? p.s- i don't do gaming

  • I can't tell you exact numbers but I certainly didn't charge the phone every evening even after heavy use during the day. So can't complain about battery life on Pixel 3 XL.

  • Battery life is average or sometimes above average in Pixel 3 XL. It serves you somewhere between 5 and 6 SOT, depending on what type of apps and if you do gaming or not. Bottom line it should conveniently serve you a full day.

  • Hey! Could you give me your opinion about battery life and time on screen on pixel 3 xl?

  • @Andy Walsall have my Pixel 3XL on EE in the UK and also running on Android 10. I don't know if you are using the Google Messages app but I found it worse than useless, experiencing the same problems you have. I switched to Pulse SMS and disabled the Google one and I don't have any problems at all now. Pulse is Free but with an option to pay for a laptop addition. I only use the Free version and it seems faultless.

  • My husband and I have Pixel 3 XL phones. They are on Vodafone UK. Anyone with this phone been having issues sending or receiving and messages? I'm not sure if it's the phone or the Vodafone Network. Have complained to Vodafone several times by phone. First they helped put in the message center number which was missing, then they did something at their end and told us to turn airplane mode on then off. Other part of the issue is heavily delayed receipt of messages making SMS.unreliable. Our Pixel 3 XL phones are on Android 10.

  • Lol.

  • One thing I forgot to say, never compare Pixel cameras to any other. I don't care about zoom gimmicks, but all I wont is a real pleasant outcome which your Chinese phone tend to over saturate or sharpen.

  • Double RAM doesn't mean anything for Pixel users as it's more than enough if you leave peacefully without running games (it handles heavy games well though). And double ROM doesn't mean anything either with unlimited full quality media backup, cloud storage and media streaming. Finally, do you think you'll be updated for more than one year with your OPPO? I don't think so, besides I have some trust problems with these Chinese manufacturers in terms of security and hidden apps for data collection.

  • Bought a Oppo Reno 5G for the same price of a pixel 3xl and it has double the RAM, triple the ROM, a 60x periscope camera and a 6.6" display, best choice ever.

  • Why would I waste my money on a phone that would receive late updates and has lots of gimmicky features that I'm sure YOU won't use. People here know that they spend their money on a phone that is well secured and immediately up to date with lots of useful features that would make real good use for YOUR day to day use. Sorry but more gimmicks isn't necessary for everyone.

  • That’s a subjective comment. Why buy a note 10? If people are looking for a simplified operating system in the Android ecosystem then their gonna go with an android one device or a google device. I wish Samsung offered a google one version of the note 10 plus. Then I would consider buying it.

  • Google smart phones World's best phone ever

  • lol don't waste your money to buy pixel 4 devices just buy note 10

  • OK. Not too worried about that. How about my other questions... Does this phone support 32-bit/384kHz audio similar to a Galaxy S9+? And does the poor bitrate quality audio recording (when doing video) has been fixed?

  • focus mode and live caption didnt update

  • Hi. I'm excited to get this phone especially now Android 10 is out. But.. Does all Android 10 features are available for this phone? Does this phone support 32-bit/384kHz audio similar to a Galaxy S9+? Thanks.

  • Please update os version details

  • I think S10 5G For the God of Jack Audio

  • between pixel 3xl and note10, which is more worth it? or should i wait for the pixel 4? need help.

  • between pixel 3xl and note10. which is more worth it? or should i wait for the pixel 4? need heeelp

  • Direct from Google, Pixel 3 is $500 - $600 and 3xl is $600 - $700. Price varies depending on the amount of memory. Compare your prices to that to see what kind of deal you're getting.

  • Pixel 3 Xl has better battery, better screen (in size and PPIs), and slightly bassier speakers. It's your better choice.

  • I need help i can`t choose. Where i live Pixel 3-470 $ (used) ,Pixel 3xl 660$, S10+ 660$ I lean towards pixel 3xl because i really like how the pictures look, the notch doesnt bother me.

  • This phone is awesome. I really enjoyed using it because of the software. I love stock Android. And camera as you may have heard is amazing. Although there is on big issues and that's awfully ram management. You have no idea how many times Spotify stops playing in background while using other apps. But overall it you want to receive Android updates day one, an awesome camera and good performance then this is the one for you.

  • Actually there is a tap to wake up... Most of the points you mentioned does not exist. You sure you're in the right phone page??

  • The stock phone app offers a block and spam function. It's answer, end, and Block/Spam now. So perhaps update your apps.

  • 1) NO option within the ROM to block calls from private/restricted numbers! Which means, you're forced to use a 3rd partry app, that rings the phone (even if only for a split second) before it blocks the call. Also, almost all of these 3rd party apps require a subsription to their "premium" features for the call blocking to work properly. My previous Android phone had this option right in the default phone/dialler/contacts app. 2) Why am I forced to use my stupid PIN to unlock it every 48 hours?! One of the reasons I chose the Pixel, was because of the awesome finger print scanner on the rear. I specifically set up my finger print in order to use the aforementioned feature. So why am I forced to use my PIN still?! What a dumb idea! 3) You cannot wake the phone by tapping on the screen. If you double-tap on the screen (and it actually registers it), you get the time. Then you have to tripple-tap, or tap repeatedly, and you get the ability to swipe upwards. After that, you may, if this all worked ok, enter your pin. What a rediclously lengthy procedure just to check my messages. 4) The notch at the top of the screen, complete waste of screen space. I am generally unhappy with this device, and would not consider another newer version from this manufacturer in the future.

  • You do realize that Google will not actually look at your opinion right?

  • Yessssss

  • XS Max for 6 months...

  • All those three phones in what time period , a couple weeks ?

  • Best camera ever

  • Just sold my iPhone XS Max which was seriously giving issues of call drop. Also used OnePlus 7, good phone but still I couldn't like it that much. Got this pixel 3 XL and I was pleasantly surprised. So fluid, haptic feedback is class leading. Typing is so much fun. Camera nothing to say, it's best. So happy to be a pixel user.

  • I too feel the same....my friend note 9 which costs quite less is more gud than this...and takes good pictures, feels sturdy too with gud display....felt really bad for buying this at this much price...

  • @Rafa YOU ARE WRONG! The Samsung Galaxy S10, Huawei P30 Pro, and even the soon-to-be outdated Samsung Galaxy Note 9 have a better camera than this crap. I don't know what you are talking about, the camera on the Pixel 3 is not great, just fine.

  • No buddy.. This phone has got the best cameras as of now. You gotta check the authenticity of the phone you bought. Bcos i own a one and i luve the camera and software in it ! #ILovePixel

  • :) :) :)

  • I bought this 3xl by paying lot amount just for all hyped gud camera. After getting it I found the camera just gud only.Tech reviews shows great camera quality but I do not found so in mine.I doubt if I got a copy product or else somebody help me how to improve it's camera quality to take great images.I am regretting a lot for buying this instead of one plus 7 pro.How can the quality be improved?

  • Slowest phone i ever had.

  • You do realize Google don't read the comments here right

  • plz add folder lock or individual apps lock in System UI nd also should consider dual sim capability

  • When your phone accidentally needs factory reset, you would be regret losing all your files.

  • Worst phone I have ever had. Camera freezes all the time, phone freezes non stop. Turns it self off all the time. I can't call people as it hangs up on everyone. It won't send texts messages and to top it off I can hear the other person talking but they can't hear me. Such a disappointment worst phone ever. Do not buy it

  • I loved my pixel xl couldnt afford pixel 2 xl although glad i couldnt. decided to get pixel 3 xl on contract and believe me a could have got any samsung s 10 a wanted. i have had this device for 3 days and its amazing! now because am poor and dont normally get the chance to buy high end phones i am so very happy with this phone i can enjoy it for 2 years and in 2021 i will be ready for technology because in 2 years phones are going to be amazing so stop moaning about a device u dont have!

  • Had this phone for a while now and honestly it's probably my favourite phone I have had in a long time. Don't get the hate its getting to this day as it does the job!

  • yeeee ugly bath tub notch,,,

  • It's the best android phone for software you can get. First to get android updates and security patches. It also has the best color science and arguably the best camera in any phone. You also get infinite cloud storage with it.

  • 4 GB RAM , 3430 mAh and 12.2 MP for 960 euro ??? Realy ? Sure is a mistake ... in that amount you really get a super phone!

  • The 3xl it’s an excellent OLED panel with accurate colors and you don’t need an SD card since Android supports OTG so you can still save your staff with external SD.

  • i'm so happy i ditched the Cat S60. it was a miserable phone. the google pixel 3 XL is such a huge step up. it's way more fluid and responsive and friendly. also it doesn't siphone it's battery. the screen works properly. the receiver is loud and clear. i'm loving my Google Pixel 3 XL and i have 128gb storage. fits everything i need on the device

  • I love the Pixel phones. I was lucky to find the original Pixel XL in Cyprus, still have it and works great. Apparently the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are not selling well, according to Google. Problem for Google is they are not available anywhere, neither are the Pixel 2 and the 2XL. And no Google store in our part of the world. If the Pixels were more easily available for purchase then people would buy them.

  • I really like the Pixel phones but I will never buy one cause of no micro SD. Don't care about unlimited storage on the cloud or anything like it. I know the camera is superior to other brands but not sure why Google always has problems with the screens. Also a deal breaker.

  • You're wrong this is terrible phone Even the Galaxy S5 is better than this

  • Well duh

  • My best phone I ever had! Much, much better than Samsung or others. I like the notch, night sight is awesome. And big + is always up-to-date clean Android. Only small issue is smaller battery life. 100%

  • I hate this phone. So buggy. All the streaming apps -spotify, podcast, news-don't work. They turn off randomly or freeze. Audio quality on phone calls is terrible, I get complaints all the time. Even the backup doesn't work, very inconvenient before doing a factory reset. I have been dealing with Google support for months and they have been generally terrible. I would never recommend this phone and I will never buy Google hardware again. My experience is completely incompatible with a competenly run organization.

  • The bigger part, yes but the better part, heck no.

  • is this phone any good for gaming? I heard pixel phone always throttle when it comes to gaming, is it true? how bad is it? how's the battery life? how's the RAM management? should I get this or mate 20 pro? should I wait for the upcoming pixel 3a? waiting for pixel 4 is not a choice since I won't wait that long.

  • Problem is if you're going to sacrifice those features at least make sure the hardware isn't an inconsistent mess.

  • Hahahah I'm using the same v30 but I'm not a blind hater. If jack and sd slot are important features you're just hating here. Pixel 3 is overall better. Camera (best photos on any phone, video goes for iPhone xs), screen, speakers, updates etc. Since my phone is still working fine I'll wait for the note 10 or Pixel 4. Stop hating kid :3

  • They wanted to make a BIGGER and BETTER notch than Apple. They were half-successful :D

  • This phone has such a big ugly notch I'm not the kind of person who always complain about notches, in fact I'm fine however long the notch is and I'm also OK with a bezel. However this phone's notch is too tall. Google clearly doesn't know anything about phone hardware or what their consumers want they just make a phone with a giant notch, surely they could have made it thinner. Well done Google 👏👏👏

  • LG V30+ Got it for $300 brand new. Great screen (none of the reported issues), headphone jack, expandable storage, wireless charging, onglasting battery, great camera. What more do I need? Software updates are notoriously slow but as long it's stable and secure I don't care for the latest and greatest. The newest Pixels are just bad iPhone clones

  • What phone are you using?

  • No prob. Enjoy your overpriced junk phone! :)

  • Actually the world does revolve around me indeed. Pixel 3 XL is impeccable comparing to 99.9% of the rest flagship phones. So nothing to discuss here anymore. Cheers

  • Unfortunately, the world doesn't revolve around you. You might not care about headphone jacks and expandable storage, but a lot of consumers do. That's why companies like Samsung and LG still haven't abandoned it. This phone has received A LOT of negative feedback due to its terrible quality control and ram management. Updates fix some issues one month, then bring them back the next. For a phone that competes with Samsung & Apple in terms of pricing it's unacceptable for a phone to be built this shoddily.

  • RAM leak is very bad for Android..why Google can't fix this.Android is disappointing Linux users like me.

  • ugliest design

  • You're completely wrong here anonomous troller just because: 1. Who needs a headphone jack in 2019? Definitely not me. Wireless is the way! 2. 64GB, 128GB storage is enough for most people. I'm quite happy with 64GB, no need more. 3.RAM management is fixed already unless you're bloody idiot running 11 or more apps at the same time. 4. Speakers are the best I've ever heard. Uneven bulshit talks about them is for tech geeks who can measure it with special devices. I can't hear anything wrong. But what I clearly hear is horrible speakers quality of Huawei Mate 20 Pro. My old iPhone 4 sounds better than that! 5. Screen brightness level is excellent. At least on my device. 6. And I love that notch! No phone have copied it so far. It is a unique signature of the phone and it's completely justified by excellent sound. 7. Never experienced any single bug from all Pixel series which I owned earlier. No Android overlay runs better and smoother than pure Google Pixel one! 8. Pixel 3 is still the king of mobile photography, except pretty much useless zoom and wide angle shots of course. Night sight kills competition, Huawei - work harder on it!

  • Exactly. The best phone I've ever used to far.

  • My Pixel 3 XL is fabulous. I'm shocked with the opinions I read here.

  • This is the ugliest phone i've ever seen.

  • No headphone jack, no SD card, poor ram management, uneven speakers, low brightness (424 nits max), massive notch. There really is no reason to pay top dollar for this phone. I'd choose a stable and well-built phone before regular software updates, which usually means you're a glorified bug-tester. Pixel isn't even the camera king anymore! smh

  • Thanks for the review

  • >Future-proofed for 3 years >RAM management: Processes (apps) are killed after using 4-5 apps simultaneously Pick one

  • Hi there! Bought the Pixel 3 XL 64GB at a discounted price of $699 ($745 w/tax). I'm coming from a 3-year old Nexus 6P, although I frequently use my mom's S6 and my sister's S8. I can definitely say that this is a great phone with a few downsides. (btw unlike other presumptuous people, I actually purchased this phone, I wish I could attach a receipt to this review). Best parts: Camera: [no explanation needed] Speakers: Really good sound with increased bass! Display: vibrant! beautiful! bright enough! Useful software features Future-proofed for 3 years Steep discounts at given times Active edge: as a guy who works part-time in retail, squeeze for assistant is really handy And now those shortcomings : Battery life: not as good as I expected it to be, but fast charging compensates for it; RAM management: Processes (apps) are killed after using 4-5 apps simultaneously Notch: Could've been smaller, although I got used to it and can't complain Software glitches: some minor Bluetooth connectivity issues and usage issues/glitches Verdict: Now here's when the decision gets a whole lot more complicated. In comparison, the S10+ is generally a much better phone. I was seriously considering it. But then there was the price point... $1000 for a S10+ or $700 for a Pixel 3 XL? Should you invest an extra $300 just for a few more benefits? MY ANSWER: NO! Unless you're some rich brat who can afford anything, I'd say the Pixel 3 XL is a better buy, and you'd realize this when you pay for your own phone. Pixel 3 XL is the perfect point between price and features. This way, I won't have to feel guilty upgrading to a newer device after 2-3 years since I'm not paying $1k. Hope this helps the average consumers out there! - Sahil K.

  • No radio or 3.5mm jack......um I think I'll pass

  • Huaw spy on you.. i wouldnt buy...

  • Okay. You have convinced me :). Don't buy Pixel phones. They are really really really bad :). But Huawei $1000 flagships is a different story. Go ahead and buy EUR1000 Huawei P30 Pro, Mate 20 Pro or whatever. A perfected beauty in everything :) :) :). Cheers

  • Of course you do, otherwise you are just relying on your own subjective bias. I've had the Pixel 3 XL. Even after the December update it still kills apps due to memory management issues. When paying premium prices, you expect premium quality. Unfortunately, the Pixel 3 does not come up to scratch. Google think they can compete with Apple by making an iPhone clone but with none of the build quality or usability.

  • evryone has their own experiences with thia device. dont single it out to yours. they may or may not be true but it something to consider.

  • Oh c'mon, I do not need to check out any forums for issues resolution check. I have got the Pixel 3 XL in my pocket right now :). It has no reported or not reported issues whatsoever. Again, don't rely on forums. Get the phone first and the start talking about the issues! Cheers

  • Check out any Pixel 3 XL forum or the Reddit page and you will see these issues are far from resolved. Also, just because you don’t miss the 3.5mm doesn’t mean you should speak for those who do.

  • Your are completely wrong here, mate. I'm not justifying anything. I have both Mate 20 Pro and Pixel 3 XL on hands right now and can choose what to keep or even have both of them. See no point to carry two phones though. Mate 20 Pro just doesn't deliver what promised, too many issues and drawbacks compared to Pixel 3 XL. Again, I forgot when the last time I used wired headphones and I'm happy to be wired free. So 3.5mm jack is the thing of the past for sure. Suggest that Samsung have it for the last time this year :). Our information about Pixel 3 is outdated. They've fixed all issues with the latest updates - the thing Huawei seems never bothered with. BT commection is perfect (no drops or anything else), no aggressive RAM management anymore (at least I can't see it with 5-6 apps opened at the same time), camera startup speed fixed, Pixel 3 XL speakers are the best I've ever heard (Mate 20 Pro with their USB-C "drowned" speaker sounds pathetic), brightness is fixed too. Don't trust reports, rumors and reviews. Get the devise first!

  • Nope, you come across as either a Google shill or someone desperately trying to justify their purchase. 3.5mm jack is not outdated. Plenty of consumers still want it. They hate using dongles or relying on BT connections. Samsung are still rocking it Pixel 3 XL is still killing apps due to aggressive management and insufficient ram Reports of camera app taking too long to open Bottom speaker is louder than the top speaker Max brightness wasn't fixed. Pixel 3 XL peaks at 405 nits, meanwhile iphone XS Max is 625 nits and Note 9 is 658 nits

  • 1. Who needs 4k 60 fps??? Good quality 1080p 30 fps is more than enough. I mostly make photos anyway. 2. Regarding sound quality, please don't rely on any reviews. Just grad both phones and compare. This is what I did. S9+ has no advantages here whatsoever. Dolby Atmos presence looks like a marketing trick, nothing more. Headphone jack doesn't affect the sound quality at all. Again, don't listen anyone, just try. I use outstanding Xiaomi HiFi USB-C earphones and very good Bluetooth earbuds anyway. 3. Samsung UI isn't appealing and smooth as pure Android one. All my and the most other people's "customizations" come to wallpapers change, nothing more :). Samsungs bloatware and apps duplicates is rather annoying than useful. 4. Pixel 3 XL OLED panel doesn't look inferior to Galaxy S9+ at all. Again, just grab two phones, put them side by side and compare. 3 XL notch is unique. I LOVE IT. And I hate curved screen nonsense. Very stupid, useless idea after all. 5. Galaxy S9+ telephoto lens isn't better than Pixel's 3 High-Res zoom at all. Again, I made comparison by myself and was very surprised with results. Optical zoom supposed to be better than digital one but it's not the case here. Poor S9+. The only better telephoto camera right now is Mate 20 Pro one. I've played with it for the last 2 month. Quite impressed. 6. Can't see or miss any single feature from S9+ which isn't available on Pixel 3. Google's left swipe News Feed and music recognition system is awesome. Miss those things on other phones. 7. Galaxy S series phones are very common in my country and they don't hold the value compared to Pixel phones. That's a big issue for me. 8. I believe that Pixel 3 XL is the better overall phone than S9+. Only brand new S10 could be better I admit. And iPhone Xs of course. No one can beat the last one. That's for sure.

  • Oh, forgot about the face unlock. It's a miles slower than fingerprint and doesn't work all the time. I was really annoyed and disappointed with that. Even the latest Mate 20 Pro 3D face unlock isn't good enough.

  • Headphone jack is a thing of the past, mate. I forgot about it for a quite a while and very happy with my Bluetooth buds. There are plenty of good and inexpensive wireless buds available with no difference in sound quality with wired earphones whatsoever. It's so convenient not to have the bloody wires hanging around! Pixel 3 speakers are the best in business. No distortion or unevenness of any kind. Screen brightness is excellent on my Pixel. Only the very first batches had this issue. Memory management and other bugs are successful fixed already. So your information is outdated and your opinion is biased. I had both phones at the same time. Had the opportunity to choose what to keep. Galaxy S9+ didn't have any chance to stay, sorry Samsung.

  • Pixel 3 XL only advantage is the main camera but ohh wait it sucks in video no 4K 60fps. Sound quality the S9+ plus wins dude check gsmarena review the Pixel 3 XL sounds horrible also Samsung has Dolby audio enhancements and a HEADPHONE JACK the Pixels audio quality sucks over the dongle. The OS choice is subjective some may prefer stock Android while some may prefer the highly customizable Samsung's UI. Samsung's AMOLED panels are the best and the S9+ dosent have the horribly big notch as the Pixel 3 XL. Also Samsung has a telephoto camera which gives 2x optical zoom which is better than Google's digital one. Also don't talk about value dude the S9+ is cheaper and offers way more features than the Pixel 3 XL. The Pixel 3 XL is an excellent camera phone wheras the Galaxy S9+ is an excellent smartphone.

  • Yes, you missed: No headphone jack, no SD card slot, no face unlock, uneven & distorted speakers, terrible screen brightness and poor ram management. :)

  • Disagree. Google Pixel 3 XL is better than Galaxy S9+ just because at least following things: - Main camera produce a way better photos. Night mode and level of details is just insane, - Selfie camera is beyond comparison, - Charging faster, - Weights less (advantage for me), - Almost flat screen, - No bloody Bixby button, - A bit better sound from speakers, - No bloatware, the best Android version ever, gets OS updates first, - better Haptic engine, - screen calling, - holds the value better, maybe something else I've missed :)

  • I know that and I know Google (supposedly) added a chin for the stereo speakers but it makes no sense if the chin is the same height as the notch. I mean, speakers are not that thick

  • It does

  • Believe it's only you my dear. No one cares about that unreliable source.

  • Everyone

  • Hello gm, gsmarena. Battery life Endurance rating ???

  • It was fixed with January patch. Search on Youtube.

  • Are you certain of it? Are there any videos to prove your claim?

  • Yes

  • Have Google actually fixed that annoying poor audio in video recording with the Pixel 2 & 3 line?

  • You're kidding me right??? DXO mark??? who counts on it!!!

  • They should've tried harder with this one

  • 76 mm sousage. Nexus 6 was 83 mm width and OLED,not bloody IPS

  • No it doesn’t you need to check Doxmark mark pixel 3xl score 101 only not even close to iPhone XS Max and note 9.

  • The S9 plus is cheaper and overall a better device than this one.

  • For the insanely high 71690 INR what is there to buy in this phone ? Best smartphone camera ? Really ? It's video recording does not support 4K 60fps and also the audio sucks in the videos it records. Just 64 GB storage not expandable via SD card, no headphone jack, no secondary telephoto or ultrawide wide rear camera. Just for the stock Android, timely software updates and a camera which is great only in stills Google are demanding such heavy premium.

  • *meant to say notch is obtrusive.

  • It's a great phone. Yes, the phone is obtrusive but at the end of the day it's a bit of extra screen real-estate that you wouldn't otherwise have. If you don't like it, turn it off in developer settings and you'll have a screen-to-body ratio close to the Pixel 2 XL. The phone has a few kinks but most of them have been fixed in software updates. Google deserve some leeway as they are still a relatively new smartphone OEM.

  • well have fun with that Chinese spying.

  • I bought the Pixel 2 XL on 2/3 for $18.74/month at Best Buy, it's a great phone. Now this week the Pixel 3 Xl is at the same price of $18.74 which I'm going to exchange the 2 XL for it. If you want a new phone then the Pixel 3 XL 64gb for $449.76 after 24 months device payment is a great choice.

  • just flash a custom rom and you have a pixel but more powerfull. theres also a Google camera port (from pixel) with everything working perfectly. so, little bit of tinkering and you got yourself a 300$ over-powered pixel 3XL...with a less hideous notch :)

  • I own a Pocophone F1 and trust me I'll never waste money on this Google Pixel 3 XL. Insanely expensive. It should have been less than $300. BTW I love the software on this phone I hope Pocophone F1 had it. Xiaomi is good with hardware but they have customized the Android just too much.

  • I think you're the only one who bought this phone....which makes you the rarest guy on planet lolz

  • Just the perfect comment I was searching for....!!!! Well done bro

  • Yes, notches are unnecesary! Just get the bezels of like an S8 or something and that's all that you need!

  • Dude! All notches are regularly ugly. iPhone has an extreme wide notch, such a width that removes all sense of having one, it is more notch than the space at the sides. Pixel 3 is a great phone, stop the hate.

  • Why Pixel 3 xl battery endurance rating not published yet? 😠

  • the screen for the 3xl is oled, the 2xl was p-oled, this time around we've got samsung panel oled

  • As if the notch couldn't get any uglier...

  • No, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro are superior and Note 9 is to. This is just the ugliest phone of 2018 award winner. I will buy S9 plus anyday or any other phone instead of this. We will see Google pixel 4 design this year but this was a joket phone.

  • Omg!! What an ugly design !! The ugliest phone in 2018

  • Only improvement when compared to Pixel 2 is the front wide angle camera. Otherwise it's almost the same.

  • No, I meant it didn't improve much at all from the Pixel 2

  • Go get a DSLR then. This is the best phone's camera on the planet.

  • This phone is the example I used to compare android phones to apple phones, this was about the same, just a little better than the xs max performance and camera quality wise, even though it is sorta mediocre compared to flagships like the s9 and s9 plus, it still worked as a comparison to show how, for something similar, you pay more for apple

  • I love the design. The only rear camera but so good and the not pink color. Not fan of the notch tough, but i think i can get used to it. Gonna buy this beautiful phone soooonnnn.. i hope.

  • Not a fan of the Design! It could be better, but as an Apple user I agree with the camera. Excellent

  • Ugly NOtch, huge chin and most of all, no SD card slot.. I'm planning on getting the 400GB SD card from SanDisk, so this phone is rather useless..

  • I use nacho notch from google play store. It can me more customized than using the developer option.

  • I bought the Google Pixel 3, and I will say that I have had no issues with it whatsoever. Its fast, the camera quality is amazing, and if you use developer settings, you can set the screen not to have the notch. I am not a fan of the notch, but i'm personally willing to have it on my screen just to have use of the full screen. I feel like this feature was overlooked by a lot of people, and didn't know about it until I ran across it in the developer options. But i will say that I thoroughly like it, and am glad that I got it.

  • i'd like to buy a google phone , tell me guys , may i buy one?

  • I think google is just selling phones for fun. Thinking someone will throw away their money and they will laugh at them.

  • Holy ugliness big notch brick

  • It's a matter of taste. I think the frosted two-tone design stands out among the mainstream smartphones. And who can't love the colour power button?

  • It's your opinion, but if they give me for free Pixel 3 XL, I will take it just to sell it.It has a horrendous design.

  • Samsung phones all look alike. Boring, smudge-magnets.

  • camera is amazing ,,and only camera if you need good camera you can buy ,, this phone ,, poor bettry , desing , shit notch stupid copy of i phone , i think note 9 is much much better ,

  • I wonder why pixel 3 XL battery test is not come out yet. Why does it take so long to know the battery life of it. I am waiting to see how is the battery life of it in order to decide to buy it or not.

  • For me if the design is ugly, I don't buy it. I rather buy S9 plus with better design, 3.5mm jack, micro sd card and has better screen-to-body than this and no notch. And much cheaper.

  • I'll admit the notch is unsightly, but what's wrong with the rest of it?

  • Having used HTC for many years, I then went on to Huawei (Mate 9). I tolerated the EMUI and I just couldn't get on with it. Now I own the Pixel 3XL, all I can say is WOW! I have listened to so many reviews on YouTube, in particular, hearing so many negative comments about the 'notch'. In real life, it is not how people say it is. If the focus was to be on the notch so much, people just need to get out a little more. Just relax and enjoy what you have.

  • This phone is in a ridiculous category of one - dual sim single standby. You put a physical SIM and active an eSIM and you can only use one of them even for standby. Inexplicable.

  • This is still the ugliest phone of 2018. Google who was the designer of this phone??

  • One plus McLaren edition has 10gb ram

  • If it's more then are u gonna use mechanical software like CATIA proe ansys ? Just to use as a phone for day today life 4 GB is much more sufficient bro

  • Only 4 gb ram?

  • Sorry to disagree. I am using the pixel 3 xl and camera is excellent.

  • I love my pixel 3 xl. But it is a pain when i have only one hand. Thumb can't reach the top. And i was used to original pixel, no xl. Id say go with XL if thumb issue isnt huge 4 u. I got over it. I still tell people the original pixel or pixel2 r great buys. Best phones. Almost kept my OG pix as phone. But had free upgrade. 0 down. So i was like ya....do it. No regrets from day/phone 1. Love google pixels! Want Chromebook so bad! #TeamPixel all day baby!

  • And me here i thought iphone had a big notch. Look at that, looks like a whole football field.

  • mmm are you forgetting the blackberry the greatest phone to have and will ever exist or do you like being spied on

  • Then You need to consult a Qualified Camera Maker who allows to create Ur expectations to get best Photos According to Your Expectations

  • Google photos has unlimited photos on any phone/computer.

  • yea. 1 carrier at a time, but who knows an upgrade could be in the works that will allow them to co-exist. For now google FI supports 3 carriers at the same time, t-mobile, sprint, cellular one, wireless at the same time. It just hops around to the one with the best signal.

  • yea. 1 carrier at a time, but who knows an upgrade could be in the works that will allow them to co-exist. For now google FI supports 3 carriers at the same time, t-mobile, sprint, cellular one, wireless at the same time. It just hops around to the one with the best signal.

  • Really! 20 pages complaining about a notch that can be hidden or used for some other purpose. Why don't you talk about all the other features , like their picture quality compared to all the other phones, or the AI this phone uses, or the unlimited cloud for your pictures, the esim that allows you to use google fi.., can go on and on about the cool features this phone has. As far as i can see is a bunch of copycats saying the notch id ugly.

  • It supports E-SIM and normal SIM slot. Google FI and may be other carrier can use E-SIM so other slot is available to insert any other carrier SIM. But only one SIM is active at any time. Through settings, we can select which one we want to keep active. So we can receive call/text only on the active SIM.

  • The height for Google pixel 3 is good, find 3XL too big. I want you too make a mobile size between 4.8 to 5.2 inch and not bigger than that.. So one can use it single handedly. Like, One plus X and Iphone 7 mobile. I want you to develop the next product with the size that I had mentioned above with the updated features. I am waiting for it. I request you to follow the same size for the next following product you launch.

  • Camera not as good as I was expecting :/

  • Does the pixel 3 supports dual SIM cards?

  • Nice! I have the 3. You recommend going XL?

  • You tried the 3? You enjoy the XL more? I have the 3 but have few more days to decide wether to switch to XL. J

  • You can hide the notch in developer options. A SD slot would be nice on the Pixel.

  • you can hide the notch in developer options

  • Boohoo!

  • What a betrayal! Pixel is the only other American phone that's not Apple, and it was fine till the 3 XL. Now you are not holding a Pixel, you are holding an "iPhone" wannabe! Now you are no longer owning something unique and original, you are just holding an iPhone-knockoff.

  • the phone has a good battery life it can last with my until the end of the day

  • Surprised they didn't do that with the hide notch feature as well. Would give you the same screen real estate without the notch and look pretty great with the white on pure black like previous versions.

  • 100% agree

  • Great, great phone. For reference, a full charge takes around 1h 40 minutes. No idea why theirs took over 3 hours. The notch disappears from your consciousness within a couple of days. This phone is smooth, the software works beautifully, feels really well made and is distinct to the usual smart bricks everyone else is peddling or copying. There are minor issues that should all be fixed. Speakers are super loud for a phone. Bluetooth works really well. Great screen. I hope Google will change the gesture system to have full gesture option so you don't need a section of the screen just for navigation buttons. You can tweak settings to get much better battery life like disable google voice detection. I used the active edge to trigger voice assistant, much more straightforward. It would not take a lot to make this phone a lot better: bigger battery, smaller bezels, smaller notch or continue copying Apple and drop fingerprint for face id, possibly more memory but that's about it. This is the most accomplished and professional feeling phone.

  • Phone manufacturers who make phones that can go up to 128GB-512GB storage these phones are their premium flagships targeted for Middle class and high class families. So it's targeted for people who obviously have money. why the 512GB probably outsold the 128GB is because you have people who have obviously have money to purchase these phones. out of the percentage of people with smartphones I would believe that would be a very small amount of people probably less then 30% of people. having said that the Note 9 is a premium device if you can afford a phone that cost's for 1000$ you have enough money to get a plan that offers data to give you coverage wherever you go.

  • Yes,mentioned friends. I forgot mentioning of audio Jack , and at least 6 gigs of RAM for thisone thousand plus smartphone !! Good to mentioning that in X place worldwide , it is $6000 witch is absolutely unaffordable for 99.99 % of people....Just the fewest amongst the few can have it !!! A message to dearest Google with 2 billion plus android users::People expect the best of the best from you but not important missing in a high ends smartphone.Thanksmentioned names and asking Google to read comments to respect their views....Thanks gsmArena for publishing facts bravely....

  • Dearest friends of best quality knowledge seekers. Undoubtedly it is a good smartphone with 3 years of upgrading guaranteed support but how better it could have been with a dedicated memory slot, radio plus recording rds,Bluetooth 5.1 and OTG,Radio.4000 of mah battery ! Of course the king with superior technology can make the changes through OTA.A VERY GOOD NEWS,GOOGLE IS GOING TO UPGRADE ANDROID 4.1 AFTER TO UPPERMOST POSSIBLE UPGRADES IN APPS THROUGH OTA !! RIGHT NOW MY Google plus ,YouTube andsome oother apps stopped working ! Here close assistance of Asus the third in the world is absolutely necessary ! Thanks mentioned names and gsmArena for release happiest making facts and news ! Good luck waiting enthusiasts....

  • Yeah I agree with you

  • I'd have bought this phone in a heartbeat were it not for the awful design and lack of SD support. The latter I could maybe just about get over... but that notch, no way. No amount of features could make me spend almost £1k on something that feels like a massive compromise. Google need to up their game massively on the design, and also give us SD support. There are few reasons why I'm sticking with Samsung's questionable UI, ridiculous bloatware and slow updates - expandable storage is the main one! Good on Samsung for giving people what they want.

  • Omg... A full charge takes close to three hours.

  • There are more cons than pros ! Pixel phones are undoubtedly the best performers in the market, but google needs to revamp the pixels design. Same the case with sony's xperia lineup. Looks are very ugly. Even oppo realme pro which costs around 15k looks more premium than this 92k pixel xl3. No body will spend such a huge amount for an awkward looked phone eventhough have some best features.

  • It has too many errors I am really disappointed with the pixel team

  • WTF... wait for a long time to see Pixel 3 XL review. It's very disappointed to you...

  • just received my new pixel xl3 really impressive works smoothly great camera exactly what i want from a smart phone

  • I think the regular Pixel 3 still looks better because this notch is just............

  • This phone will never sell like hot butter... The price cannot justify the specs. Better go with an iphone or a sony

  • Hope you come up with the review after the night mode is enabled, so that a proper camera comparison can be done.

  • Agreed

  • hope ur review come out on 2019. good luck with that. ur reviews about sound quality through headphones is lame and leaves a lot to be desired . And u don't mention details about multitasking and ram management . camera division needs to cover camera speed, slow motion, selfie comparison chart, flash light comparison chart.

  • Mr..google company plz try to make ur phone much much more powerful from ur rams and ur wireless charging even tho the design because its always the same color and shape and nothing is new in it ....if a person wants to buy ur phones he will thing a lot of times....ps the new pixel 3 docent save the photos in the memory....

  • Dear Gsmarena what it takes you to do review for this phone for so long, coz oneplus6T review is out even before the public hands on But why pixel 3XL is taking such a long due time ? We demand an explanation

  • At this point, I actually think gsmarena had an issue with Google, and won't post a review for the 3/XL.

  • This phone shoud get the reward for the best UGLY Phone of the Last 10 Years

  • Well HTC have problems with manufacturing own phones not even other brands. So yes google screwed it again. They maybe offer world best OS for a cell phones. But when comes to other products everything is useless comparing product it self with price.

  • The only thing i dislike about this phone, comming from an LG G6, then One plus 5T and then a One plus 6, is that you can't lock the screen by double tapping anywhere in the screen. I liked that in the other phones I mentioned. I hope they can enable the option in the future

  • The camera is the only good thing about this phone. But there are a lot of phones with good cameras which are not awful in every other way.

  • Yeah, but more than likely Google is going to screw up again. They only Pixel phone they got right was the first generation one, but of course, that was the one that was manufactured and designed by HTC, not Google.

  • You're got a point!!

  • Nice

  • It almost looks like they don't want us to buy this phone, lol.

  • I am curious, why is the Pixel3/XL review taking so long? GSMArena seems to be reviewing phones released after the Pixel3/XL, which is very strange. Several readers are waiting for the review before committing to the Pixel3/XL vs Note9 vs Huawei, vs waiting for other phones.

  • 4GB ram in a Q4 2018 flagship, the biggest notch ever. It's some kind of Apple wannabe. Yeah, we are google, buy the brand name. I'll stick to Huawei, Xiaomi and other down-to-Earth brands that offer something ok for their prices.

  • I might get the Note 10....it better not have a notch though.

  • Android isn't very good at RAM and memory management. You can expect worse performance if it's not a "vanilla" android.

  • Recent tests reveal the Pixel 3 is a major let down. While one shouldn't expect any Android phone to beat an iPhone (and they won't), the Note 9 is far better than the Pixel. This notch business is sheer insanity. I hope the trend will end...soon, very soon.

  • Why would you need a bigger ram if that phone doesn't have any bloatware? :)

  • Saw someone say you should get the note 9, but i completely disagree. for cheaper you get Stock android, Same screen, better looking phone, Same camera quality, same specs besides the ram and storage. the Pixel 3XL is a better phone. the note 9 may have a bigger battery, but that's with all that Samsung bloatware. So they're probably be roughly the same. and the pixel will remain faster because of it. even though they have the same specs. and you get more software updates. and yeah sure, you could root/rom your note 9 which is what i did with my s7. but samsung has this new thing where it limits the battery to 80% if its not running official samsung software. So no bueno. The pixel is a better buy overall.

  • Just get the Note 9, you'll be better off minus the day one software updates.

  • Well google know how to kill the bussiness. Waste of resources even making this.

  • Dissapointing Ram, not worth it at this price range.

  • No cooking pizza via pixel 3XL

  • What happened to Pixel 3 XL review??? still testing???

  • @ GSMArena Still waiting for your review on this (especially your battery testing). Thank you.

  • Does itsupport LTE band 28?

  • Well improvin CPU doesnt meant anything gruesome.

  • Now that we know that the screen is made by Samsung and not LG like last year, shouldn't the specs be changed from P-OLED to AMOLED?!

  • I've been very pleased with my 2XL, but my agency pays for a new phone every year. So, I've got a 3XL on order. In fact, it shipped today and will be in my hands on Thursday.

  • Which will be the greatest mistake

  • The notch... the notch...

  • it's using a samsung amoled not lg's p oled

  • Some do, but in a tweet, Google says that it will implement gestures on all Android devices, but I don't know if they'll be ditching the whole traditional navbar

  • Will the Pixel 3 XL bought from US work with carriers in Europe (Orange, Vodafone, etc)?

  • Notch can be taken out

  • It is not, android 9 still has traditional controls.

  • 512 GB outsold the 128GB because many people, especially non-enthusiasts, think more is better. They still have to understand to buy only as much as they need. And, why would someone want to go outside coverage area unless hiking or something which is not for most people but only for a limited audience.

  • Well this isn't much of a upgrade from the pixel XL and I got it for $200

  • both pixel 3 pixel xl 3 are great smartphones

  • Hi there , I’m at the fence per say for the pixel 3 , and I’m using the Essential phone at the moment , next week or so will be the time to make the jump , should I jump without looking to where I will be landing or not ?

  • yes your right but let me say why this is better than iphone . 1 type c cable 2 a real hero of android smartphones 3 better display 4 fast charging cable inside the box 5 both of the speakers are at the front of your face it is so good to the people like me that love watching music videos and movies and listening to musics too much.

  • Most over-priced phone ive ever seen. If you're considering buying this, think again and might as well buy an iphone.

  • But no one cares about essentials and features anymore. There's a reason why Note 9 have rotten sales. Not even close to iPhone 7 pre-order total sales.

  • Best smartphone with rotten sales. Lol!

  • But no one cares about the essential crap

  • Google should have launched the 3 and 3XL both with notches with the ability in settings to black the notch out. This would have given both phones symmetry with each other.

  • Well thanks. We or i had a lot of expectations but as usualy google failed to present something beyound believe. Well we can hope for next year.

  • I love that 3 xl phone because that phone has notch, biggest display and also the prosessor SDM 845.I do not care about ram but I want to know the quality. This phone really matters to me.

  • 64GB is more than enough. So please explain why the 512GB of the Note 9 outsold the 128 GB version. And when are Cloud worhsippers going to grasp the concept that we may not always be within a covergae area and that uploads and downloads are not free or unlimuted in most cases?

  • This phone makes the iPhone X look like the most beautiful device Apple has ever created wtf lmao

  • I agree with everything you said

  • Ugly phone, ugly notch, big screen small battery small ram no SD Slot No jack and low disk space options. Big no for 960 euros. Also the main camera is medium or average and front is a lot worse than that.

  • Does it have stereo audio recording? Also, their hide notch solution is diabolical. The need to leave notifications and status where they are, but make the background black. Not make it black and move status. Beggars belief.

  • that's notch bruh

  • About 960 EUR Are they for real? LOL.

  • When I said Nokia and Blackberry I didn't mean the price, I meant doing things wrong and not listening to their customer's feedback which leads them at the end to be on the bottom of the list in the smartphones market share

  • Pros Pure Android Machine Learning Cameras Advanced AI 18:9 Aspect Ratio Fast Updates Cons Incremental Upgrade Huge Display Notch No External Memory No Snapdragon 855 4 Gb RAM Others will make the argument 128 Gb storage is sufficient with cloud options. True but at a price. With a new data breach occurring almost daily I personally won't consider cloud storage. Also, streaming music and movies cost $$$ and if you're in a situation without internet access you're out of luck. Top of the line devices are fairly expensive nowadays however this device seems a bit pricey considering it's not feature packed. I'll hold off for the Galaxy S10 due out in a couple of months.

  • It is quite identical to the leaks and its design is nothing to be excited nor amazed about. Oh well, its google, if their design team really sucks, they should have coped either Samsung S or Note series or Oppo Find X to be more competitive, but it is alright, it isn't like it is going to be bought by many people, anyways! so it doesn't even really matter ha ha

  • h o l y n o t c h

  • bigger doesn't always mean better, that notsh is huge i think i'll pick up the smaller one it looks much better and the pixel always delivers on raw android experience .

  • What's that thing in between the rear camera and flash doesn't looks like a mic its yellow what is inside it and what does it do?

  • isn't it essential is the first one that came out with a notched phone?

  • If Google forcing ALL Android users to use gestures is true... I don't know what to say, that better be as big of a joke as the Pixel 3 XL

  • Oh yes. The Mate 20 series is also promising. Still can't wait on that feature packed phone with weird setups!

  • you should definitely hold that decision 1 more week until the mate 20 pro comes out. 7nm on a 4200mAh+ ....it will be like a dream come true. Huawei's version of DEX is not bad neither and the cameras.....we already know they will be better than the Note 9's....but yes, to date the Note 9 is the king, by far

  • Google=Apple Greedy companies!

  • That notch is bigger than Thanos' chin... But yeah, Galaxy Note9 wins in 2018 as the best smartphone hands down.

  • :):):) welcome to the immaculate perfect world of an apple user buddy. Google phones were suppose to put quality in the hands of the other 95% of Earth's population. I guess some people will eat whatever is fed to them at events. Nice try not be an Apple head :):):)

  • I don't understand why Google doesn't put Chrome OS on the Pixel Phones. The hardware is shitty anyways so you can not call them gaming phones. With Chrome OS we would at least get desktop mode and use these phones for more than email checking. Chrome OS is great in desktop mode and Google is making a huge mistake not using it on these shitty phones

  • Taking a decent amount of videos and using your phone for podcasts will fill up 64GB over time no problem.

  • Clearly you're on the wrong page and you do not understand that the average phone user doesn't need more then 64GB to be realistically. Music can be now streamed easily through Spotify, Google Music, Apple Music etc as most carriers now offer amazing deals for data with a premium phone plan Photo and video storage online is provided by Google and specifically to Pixels for free as Google Drive giving Pixel users unlimited storage for up to 2-3 years. much better then Apples Icloud. ALso I do not care it doesnt matter how many apps you download it would not take up more then 10 GB. nice try. they also include a dongle like any other non 3.5 jack device. and the price to performance you're getting Stock android along with the highest specs for android for a 40% less price for a iPhone Xs or Xs Max clearly if you can a extra 500-700$ for a iPhone you can have enough to pay for Spotify or for a subscription to Google drive Higher Resolution better battery life and stock android the best of the best coming from a Pixel 2 XL user.

  • If Nokia is giving the Android One experience they so no way to go for Samsung

  • And when google imitate samsung, you will whine again 'samsung copycat' here and there.. This phone looks better than the leaks. I like it.. it's a beauty

  • I really doubt people will go from Google Pixel price to Nokia smartphones, as they are in different price points. Most likely they will just pay for Samsung

  • No there is.. It's an option. All android 9 phones will have gestures and the original 3 buttons as an option. When you're with updated one, when you're in app a back button will appear, and dissapear whenever you're at your home screen

  • What about all the other smartphone companies that ignore their customers? The dying headphone jack is a testament to that... why would these companies think omitting it is a good idea? I will NOT buy a phone that doesn't have that feature.

  • Well, maybe you are right !!!!!! Say Hi to Nokia and Blackberry !!!!!!! When the company ignored their customer's opinion and feedback, Nokia and Blackberry will become your competitors

  • Google doesnt do there home work... Copy and paste this is the google pixel means. SAD :'(

  • There is no option of software buttons : Back, Home, Recents from Pixel 3 lineup onward.

  • Google how could you keep making fugly phone again and again? Just take a look at Samsung or Huawei or Oppo or Xiami or Vivo or even Oneplus to make at least some nice looking phones! or just imitate Samsung design, no fugly notches, edges overflow to the side and no fugly camera bump at the back etc sigh!

  • No headphone jack, no sdcard slot, a small battery, a notch, hmm....iPhone-ish?

  • I believe this is one of the most ugliest smartphone ever made. Note 9 or Xmax are the choice of the year.

  • one ugly phone!

  • 128 GB storage only (and not ability to add external card)? thats make it easy for me to stay away. are not enough space for me. i have my music in Hi-Res (24Bit-192.000Hz) also for recording video in 4K, taking pictures, install some apps/games, and put some movies. /no 3.5mm jack should be 256/512gb options. and something other, if price are close to iphone XS would make easy for me to choice the iphone instead of pixel XL3 maybe it's only me, and some others to have other needs but that was..

  • What are you talking about with gesture only navigation?

  • To add on: EWWWWWW gesture based navigation ONLY!!!!!! EWWWWWW still no microsd slot since Nexus S!!!! There, fixed it for you.

  • Remember when Google weren't trying to be greedy with their phones? When they sold flagship devices at minimum profit margins for the Android fans. Now you pay more than you have to for a Galaxy Note 9 and you get MUCH less. Even Apple looks at this and thinks it's excessively greedy.

  • Iphone xr will beat this phone...... Hey google you know iphone doesn't need over 4 GB Ram cause its have A12 Chip,Dual SIM,best OS,Best Security,Bigger Storage (512 GB),apple stay standing on top brand but pixel come more limitation it's have less storage, only one SIM,lower RAM 4GB is not sufficient (cause android os is needed more RAM) .Hey Google please Care us.We want more powerful device with totally upgraded device not only software update Learning from Nokia,Yahoo.their biggest mistake is they don't care what user want.

  • majority hates the idea od a notch. so they came up with as big and ugly design for their flagship. you can easily compare it now with fiat multipla!

  • Compared to my s9 plus with no notch this phone looks bloody ugly indeed and I don't know why they made it look so horrendous. Just my two cents but I just think it looks horrid.

  • This is OK. Pure(really Pure) Android.

  • Hey, can someone tell me the dimensions of the notch. My friend says it's small. 😅🙄

  • They're the manufacturer of Android & They Know much better than anyone on this platform

  • It's 2018 and Google still using 4 GB ram in their devices.

  • I'm still using my Nexus 6P, I know how pure Android is. And I'm bored by it. If I'm gonna spend money, I'm gonna spend it on a phone that gives me more for my money than plain Android with a boring design.

  • Can't Wait..

  • This phone is okay for me, I'd buy this phone if its release in my country.

  • I reall like Pixel devices because of their incredible camera and their awesome clean software but on the other hand sure Pixel is damn greedy and adopting Apple's politic to save as much as possible in hardware and charge customer as much as possbible. Sure the single camera in Pixel3 does much much better than any other phone and of coure iPhone's camera until 2022 or maybe later odels can't be as good as Pixel3's camera, but a wide angle PIXEL camera or an Telephoto Lens would be the way to go. For real asking fpr 950Euro for Pixel phone with a same design language as all last generations (iterally no innovation in design), ONLY 4GB RAM, ONLY 64GB sorage and no Super slowmotion, no AMOLED or Super AMOLED is way too much.

  • Nobody is going to fail. Just because cribbing customers like you don't want to buy their phones, does not make them fail. Your useless opinions don't align with their customers.

  • I agree with you. and that notch.

  • Google adapts the shitty apple approach and they will fail eventually :) For me i will never buy either pixel or Iphone until they respect the customer's demands and pricing

  • For India Note 9 is better than Pixel 3 XL and iphone xs max regarding price point Note 9(512 GB)- INR 84900($1150) Pixel 3 XL (128 GB)- INR 92000($1250) iphone XS Max (512GB)- INR 144900 ($1950)

  • Yes, those are all the words that accurately describe this phone.

  • EWWWWWW big ugly notch!!!!!! EWWWWWW huge chin!!!! EWWWWWW still no headphone jack!!!! Google are you trying to gross out your customers or what?!?

  • Google have to rethink about pricing in India. Pixel 3 XL(128 GB) is $1250. Note 9 (512 GB) is $ 1140 cheaper than US. So Google #DoWhatYouCant

  • poco is that you?

  • This phone gives you the best example of how you can destroy a brand with your stupidity and arrogance 4 GB Ram, 3430 mAh Battery, soooooo ugly thick notch, only 64 & 128 GB rom All of those GREAT (shit) specifications with About 960 EUR ... woooooow you are joking ?!?!?!?!?!?!? Adios Pixel , a good phone concept with bad & stupid implementation

  • Its unfortunate that Google had to follow the apple notch. The reverse notch/antenna bump adopted by CAT cellphones look more interesting to me. Won't be buying this.

  • Probably google couldn't find any suitable design with this phone. I have seen every one in the internet is disliking that ugly, horrible notch. How could not they feel the same? what happened to Google design team? I accept notch is common now a days, but that too can be manageable by properly placing that. But what is this? And what about the RAM of 4 GB only? I understand google has best software optimization, but android by its nature requires more RAM. A flagship in late 2018 will have only 4 GB RAM is not acceptable, even from technical point of view if google thinks it is not required. Still many consumers want this and almost every one thinks the same. I will wait another year to see Pixel XL 4

  • I think the give 82.8% screen-to-body ratio is wrong. Just look at that huge notch and large chin bezel.

  • Salute to samsung for not adopting ugliest design known as notch Lovw u samsung

  • What a joke 128gb varient in India cost 92k Where as note 9 provides 512gb in 84k with 6k cash back. Lolz google and apple go home only samsung rules

  • Google pixel 3 will beat every phone in camera aspect But this phone has the ugliest design no sdcard slot .only 64 gb 128gb varient no 3.5mm jack and worst part is notch. After seeing this i will go with Samsung galaxy note 9 the king of smartphone

  • of course it needed, tele, wide angle, is very important now not just for bokeh

  • only 4gb RAM? is this a joke?

  • Pixel does not need dual camera. The single camera is good enough

  • unlovely grotesque hideous unsightly ugly

  • pixel = iPhone on android! cannot dual physical sim? no dual camera? sd 845 really? sd 8150 on the way! display P-OLED??? wheres super amoled which is far better. and last, the price is so expensive with this spec looks like apple products

  • Where can I buy this phone???

  • Far behind the current 2018 flagship phones. No impressive innovation. Boring design.

  • overpriced look cheap..........boring phone..........single camera really

  • what the heck? it does "just work". dont you know how pure android is? however, you're right on the opinion that they shouldn't be charging that much for such uninnovative phones

  • Only Samsung is the true android smartphone. It all all the essential.

  • the phone looks ugly

  • what is better from last year (Pixel 2): IP68/ Two front cameras (wide angle) / night sight (camera) / better screen for the XL version from last year/ better sound quality /premium look and feel/ wireless charging / new chipset. However, the 4 gb ram is a deal breaker for me. regards

  • I really don't think the notch is the right design direction , it looks out of place and simply dumb, I think in a year or so this will be a completely obsolete design. No groundbreaking features.....Google can do better im sure

  • It's sad to see google releasing a phone that looks like that. It looks like any cheap Chinese phone although it has a price tag of top one. Also I can't believe that google doesn't find better photo to use it as wallpaper for the phone marketing???

  • For the same aspect ratio, Samsung can did it without a notch

  • Looks like they are trying to kill Google phones. Its like, buy this phone to get the best camera mobile. Why did they come up with a notch, why no 3.5 mm jack port. Samsung is able to squeeze in everything in their phone and still able to give near bezzelless design. High time they invest in appearance and come up with appeal and originality rather than making ludo dices with best camera.

  • Google = Apple of Android !!! Nothing NEW in this phone except the price !

  • Are you kidding me Google? No expandable storage, no 3.5mm audio jack, big ugly notch. Camera may be superb, but the price is just too high for what it offers.

  • The price is ridiculous... Still 4 Gb of Ram and one camera on the back. I still wonder who would buy this???

  • Extremely disappointing. Price is ridiculously high for the specs too.

  • google has the best camera on any phone ever and its the latest release from google i think no phone is better thn this in market..

  • A 128 GB Pixel 3XL with Preferred Care and NOTHING else comes out to $1,228.10. $100.10 of that goes to New York State sales tax! Are you kidding me, Google? You are NOT on the level of Apple. You don't have the "it just works", or "it's not just a brand, it's a lifestyle" reputation to be charging such ridiculous prices! Better that you work on creating one COHESIVE messaging app and getting rid of the hundred useless ones. You already had to get rid of Google+ (which NO ONE used), after you exposed people's data. Google smartphones died with the Nexus 6P, which I'm still using. There's no way in hell I'm getting this ugly piece of junk. It's gonna be back to Samsung for me next year. At least when they charge stupid prices, they throw everything but the kitchen sink at you.

  • oneplus 6 is much better thn this phone...in one plus 6 u will get ..smaller notch thn this... snapdragon 845 processer...256 gb internal memory..8 gb ram...its enough to beat this highly priced device..

  • ugly phone

  • i agree with but if thats what they are planing why the price is sky high? they messed up big time and they are still expecting that it will outsell the other smartphones let me tell you they will not i dont like huawei but the mate 20 and the pro will sell more than this 4 sure

  • on paper it's nearly the same phone as the original pixel xl lol, same ram, same camera (which ik is improved from software) and even worse battery with a better and bigger display which drains the battery even more...

  • That notch can fit the entire cast of Infinity War

  • A little bit disappointed a 2018 end of year phone still has 4GB RAM and cost over $1200

  • Dammmmm google, that notch is so big you could put a headphone jack in there............wait what?

  • Nokia is the best. Nokia 8 that was launched last year shall be closely competitive with this. I also believe Nokia 8 camera will beat this

  • I think Google intentionally made this phone less significant because with the upcoming tech's like SD 855 & 5G this phone will soon become irrelevant & obsolete. Hope pixel 4 will have better design with water drop notch is preferable, dual cameras, larger battery and more importantly the Headphone JACK!!!

  • Strongly agree with you.

  • The notch is too deep.

  • does having a nano sim and e-sim mean, you can use 2 sims?

  • not bad just a good software. I propose onepluse6

  • Sadly there is nothing extraordinary about this phone. I am not trying to troll Google, but this could have something more revolutionary. Others are implementing triple cameras, or who knows, shock resistant materials, to stand out. They should have done better, this is my opinion.

  • and no head phone jack lol..

  • these people are crazy 4 gb ram notch 2 front cameras 1 primary camera qhd+ screen sd 845 no sd card internal 64/128... for 980 euro wtf are they insane for example samsung note 9 is 128gb/256 6 gb ram/ 8gb ram dual primary camera bluetooth s pen better design no notch and you can find it hear in my country for $900 does these people think that people are dumb or what come on wake up this should only cost the most in my opinion with all its disadvantage $600 the most smh...

  • So iphone xs max is also a bogus phone

  • In others words android is shit like all android users for picking android over ios

  • no card slot = no go

  • the notch speaks for itself o_o (meh)

  • Ugliest Notch + Ugliest Chin = Ugliest Phone currently u can buy. Even a lot uglier than latest iPhones.

  • Too expensive for the specs.

  • Google's $1.1 billion deal to acquire HTC's R&D division – otherwise known as the team behind the latest Pixel phones. More or less an HTC phone in disguise!

  • Hideous looking phone right there!

  • But you are comparing Oranges with Lemons. IoS and Android are completely different in terms of memory utilisation.

  • Wtf even though im not pixel fan, its sad that the notch is deeper than pasific ocean is real , and more than 900$ for 128/64 gb 4gb ram ???

  • No 3.5 mm headphone jack, no memory card, no fm radio. Just a bogus phone

  • So those mid range phone u r saying with higher ram than pixel 3 is basically better than iphone xs max which also had 4 gig ram?!?

  • No dedicated sim and memories... No dual sim... No 256 or 512 storage option... No dual camera in back... And big price... Are you kidding me!!!

  • But latest iphonealso had 4gig ram and is sling like hotcake

  • Well this is a huge fail... 4 gigs of ram and snap 845 on an android device that costs 949 euro? I thought it would be something special but no... the Pixel 3 is a fail...

  • The Ugliest pixel ever..........

  • What could have been one of the best phones of 2018 has effectively been strangled at birth. Lack of both RAM and storage is poor to say the least and the battery is hardly impressive either, not forgetting the ridiculously oversized notch of course. Even mid-range phones come with more than 4GB of RAM nowadays. All of this would not be so bad, but when coupled with the ridiculously high asking price it just becomes a complete non-starter and one of the biggest disappointments of 2018.

  • Weirdest notch i have ever seen

  • This phone is NOT worth buying. I recommend you buy last year's Pixel 2 XL instead. It's the same phone without the notch. It will also be much cheaper now.

  • I seriously hope this one will have more storage options...

  • Display is 1080p?it means to say mid range phone?

  • Ugliest notch ever...

  • 1080i

  • the notch looks like this o_o

  • 1080p?????

  • I have a HTC U11 plus which hasn't had a single security update and its still on December 2017 so I wouldn't bother with HTC they are a dieing company. My main phone is a s9 plus which is bein constantly updated by Samsung and I to be honest think its tons better than the U11 plus I have anyways.

  • Mate 20 Pro, and nothing else.

  • Such a lie. Until Note 4 , Note phones were far better than S phones. Then they deranged them but even now they are slightly better. IMO the only series from Samsung that made sense. Nowadays not even that. Too expensive for too little.

  • "Top hardware" Dude... It's just an S9 with a pen. It's not worth the 1K+ pricetag. The Note series was never this expensive and always outclassed the S series.

  • Just but the U12+. The speakers are just from another world. The bass is so thick it vibrates as much as the XZ2's dynamic vibration system set on the low setting.

  • Correction: Huawei is actually making history for the 2nd time in this year, not Google. Mate 20 Pro has the score of 116 whereas Pixel 3 XL has the score of 107.

  • Google made history once again for the 3rd time in a row:

  • no

  • Dear N@B, I am using Huawei Mate 10 Pro now. And i am planning to buy a new phone. My choices are: 1. HTC U 12+ 2. Google PIXEL 3 XL 3. Huawei MATE 20 Pro It seems we have the same favorit smartphone. I am a big fan of HTC. But is it way behind if I buy HTC U12+ compared to Pixel 3xl or mate 20 pro. I love a phone with great speaker like HTC. Thanks for your help...

  • Holly ugliness.

  • The most ugliest n huge notch on smartphone ever

  • 94..4% screen to body ratio without counting the notch right? if the notch were accounted for, then how much is actually the usable screen to body ratio?

  • It's the same physical size as a iPhone 6 plus (but much more screen size), so that's a good size for me

  • This year Google is making a lot of mistakes, 6.7 inch that's too big, that ugly notch is big too, the shin is big too, the battery is under 3500mAh, it doesn't have dual camera o triple camera set, It won't have HDR10 compliant so I don't know what they are thinking even the LG V40 ThinQ or Mate 20 normal will much better, I can tell that I prefer to buy a HTC U12+ or Mate 20 with waterdrop notch than this phone. I am very fan of Google but I don't like what they are doing with the Pixel this year.

  • 6.71" isn't that too big ? They thought its a tablet or something i guess ...

  • I’m hoping that google is messing with us but I know better than to believe in the pixel line up

  • damn right

  • Obnoxious!

  • The pixel 3 XL has won the 2018 ugliest design award.

  • Wireless charging?

  • pixel phone is great . for you business phone is the best and you have all google technology for free and free cloud too infinity storage until 2021 ! and you will keep your old pictures and videos forever on the storage if you catch more video and photos as you can by using pixel 2 and pixel 2 xl ! try this and upgradable to new versions same like iPhone quick update forever ! you will not lose believe me ! and its price not get decreased like Samsung or iPhone propaganda!

  • did you try the phone for at least 6 months ? did you notice that pixel 2 and pixel 2 XL have the ability to store all you infinite pictures and videos on your google cloud lets say 100000000000000000000 Tera storage on the cloud until 2021 !!!! did you notice that pixel 2 and 2xl can recharge faster with type C from both sides ! did you notice that you can get update to latest android version 9 ! and upgradable until you sell the phone ! did you notice that it is better than iPhone and Samsung storage and google cloud is more better now! did you notice that all iPhone and Samsung didn't give you the real storage for your pictures yet! 5 G on iPhone cloud and 15g on Samsung cloud and then ! did you notice that google bought already HTC company ! and all parts of the phone is from HTC great technology macro chips! stay with you propaganda!

  • Not having a 3.5mm jack kills it for me.

  • The phone has big chin then how body to screen ratio is 94.4%

  • Google phones are OK but they are overpriced. XL should be 600$ and regular 500$. They never had 1000$ hardware. I really hope that the pocophone sticks around and oneplus establishes a flagship standard at 600$. At least Samsung offers top hardware for over 1000$. Pixels are becoming just apple wannabe.

  • the notch is not ugly at all. but the flagship of 2018 with 6gb ram is not top notch.

  • the notch is not ugly at all. but the flagship of 2018 with 6gb ram is not top notch.

  • the notch is not everything and unlike other people here I prefer a phone with small notch to a no notch phone because it more screen ratio.. but the design looks old (other than the notch)

  • very ugly phone

  • Why the hell is it adding noutch to its's superb display

  • How is this a 2016 design? The notch first came into existence last year.

  • The design belongs to 2016 and 2018 is ending.

  • Is the RAM 6GB correct? from all leaks, it shows 4GB RAM.

  • The notch is OK !!! I like it. The space used by the the notch is the same space now used for ... Nothing realy ... It's idealy placed between your notifications an clock where there's most of the time ... nothing ... Just empty screen

  • ram could go to 8gb then storage 1tb then increase selfie camera mega pixel but dual lens is okay triple lens could be better + front camera mega pixel should turn increase with dual(good)/triple lens(best)...if the mobile could support dual sim its excellent and the colour of mobile could be multi colour or all colour on google logo could be implemented on the colour of mobile so that when it releases during diwali time buying it would mean best diwali purchase

  • Google are sheep. They mocked Apple for scraping the headphone jack... then they did the same. Now they are copying them again... but with the ugliest version of the notch so far. How a multi-billion dollar company can only produce uninspired, mediocre-looking phones is astonishing!!

  • It's funny to see all the Apple haters who criticised the notch are now changing their tune because Google have adopted it.

  • i like the notch. for 2018 specs should have ram 8 gb for the flagship.

  • Notch ? Really ?

  • Very little of all amount of TVs. Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, LG etc can be connected to almost any TV with WiFi.

  • Is the top Google management on drugs or alcohol? I mean when someone showed them this concept any sane person would have said what an ugly notch. How did they give the go ahead for production?

  • Please design Pixel3 without Notch ..

  • Google Chromecast is now supported in my sony bravia tv

  • What is the deal with the Pixel phones? Is it the clean Android? They look so cheap to me.. Damn i miss the old Nexus phones..

  • I think that the battery is too small for this size of a phone.

  • Ugly. And it shouldn't be forgotten that Google removed Miracast from stock Android, Android One and Android Go. So it can be connected only to Chromecast and cannot be connected to any TV.

  • Specification and design can be better, mainly needed more storage for Singapore and Asia pacific region.. thanks..

  • ugliest phone of the century . LOL

  • UGLY! All Caps. They should NOT launch this phone. they will have a pile of unsold phones in inventory by the end of 2019.

  • Great looking phone! I'm feel better about a deep notch over a long notch like Apples...

  • This is the ugliest flagship phone to ever grace the earth.. what happened to the design team at google?

  • oh google you have crushed my life with that ugly notch. worse than the huawei p20

  • ahhh, this thing looks horrible. Why, google, Why did you do this to us. why is the notch so big. Google, the only phone that will getaway with a notch is the iphone x. U have let me down:(

  • Interesting:

  • As much as I love stock android ... I think even hardcore android fans can agree that the Google Pixel 3 XL makes the iPhone X look like the most beautiful phone ever made ...

  • Is it 6.2"? i thought i read rumor was 6.7"?

  • Very ugly notch. I guess they need that extra notch space for more sensors to track the user's every movement bodily function.

  • This is a subjective yet popular opinion: the phone is ugly af. Some of you may 'like' it (read: ok with the compromise), but for me, just seeing the front of that phone makes me feel uneasy. I don't like having that feeling everytime I use my phone (like every few minutes!)

  • Christ almighty why are people getting hung up on a Notch & Chin? At the end of the day the phone is either in your pocket or plastered in front of your face, no one else sees that screen often and your attention should be on the screen not the bloody speaker port xD Personally, love the look and love the specs. Come on Pixel 3!

  • Everything is ok. But 2 think I don't like. 1 is To deep notch. 2 is 128 Gb internal memory, no 256 Gb option. Size also big. No need 6.2inchs. 5.8 is best. Think.

  • Ugly. Biggest and most unattractive notch. why copy notch but make way worse. Silly google pixel fanboys

  • Still 1 camera? No dual or triple camera setup? Boring.

  • poor design, ,, ugly

  • Thats not a true people always copy paste. They are lack of creativity even small childrens are much more creative than adults. Its much easier to copy paste than create something tottaly own tus why we have a zillions of copies of apple and samsung from zillions of other brands.

  • For free? Of course ill get it, but then immediately sell it and get a notchless phone

  • NOTCH and CHIN.. am I seeing Iron Man's Mask here??

  • Galaxy Note 9 is better for specs (sd card slot, headphone jack, big battery and without notch), the cons is only high price tag.

  • Mother of NOTCH and BIG CHIN, google need better designer

  • I must be the only one who loves this design. Not a huge fan of the huge chin but I think it's a very unique design, and doesn't have the generic notch shape.

  • SAR value of pixel 3XL ?

  • The notch is just UGLY on this device

  • the notch will break your heart

  • dat notch - is there anyone who wants this piece of crap? not even for free i want one

  • Therefore Apple copied The Essential Phone, they had a notch far before and much smaller.

  • think samsung will never have notch..

  • It will always be like that. Big minds of mobile world launch their newest creations every september, the world follows shortly after. P.S. That notch on the Pixel 3 XL looks hot by the way, but that chin... unlike the original

  • Everyone wants to be Apple, Apple makes, the rest copy. That's just how it will be.

  • Stupid notch design. Iphone started this stupidity first...throw that stupid iphoneX first. Shame on iphone designers.. The real smart phone lovers always hate this stupidity forever.

  • Totally agree. The notch is so ugly on any phone. Shame on Apple designers that started this stupid game.

  • I really hope they don't put that stupid notch on the phone. I phone x looks stupid with and everyone that copied it so far looks stupid

  • 19.5:9 ratio what a joke. As wide as a 5.3 inch 16:9 phone a real tv control!!!

  • No one ever copied what doesn't sell...

  • I personally like the look of this phone, ive had the original pixel and the pixel xl 2 and its been a great phone!

  • They said the 3rd time would be the charm. Looks like they messed up the design

  • Biggest notch with a gorilla glass 6.

  • Don't forget Mate 20. That's gonna be the real winner this year

  • If true, this notch will break record for being the biggest notch of all time in smartphone history. Moreover, please add the iphone 2018 trio pages.

  • i don't think this is the true spec.. when samsung otedy announced their 4k batery.... the new lithium

  • Pixel 3xl vs samsung note 9 vs iphone x plus vs lg v40? Whats your bet?

  • Tbh, ZTE hasn't made a phone in awhile and Google has that unlimited storage for videos and pictures. Xiaomi follows Apple and is cheap to buy

  • You do though, by the experience.

  • I am wondering if It is going to be noticeable to move from super amoled to p-oled...

  • Looks promising! Specs are Alright for 2018 flagship and the notch is welcome edition. I would prefer the phone to habe 2 back cameras.

  • looks horrible, the notch thing sucks.. to me its like having a tv or monitor with a chunk missing from it..

  • everyone: I hate notch and chin!! google designer: Let's make google pixel 3 have a notch and a chin whoalaa...Dumb looking phone ever

  • You have no idea what 200 guys each with a 200mm did to your mam last night...

  • why xiamoi google zte and all android phone maker Mo..er Fu..er does not add Memory Card Option for Different Variant of There Phone A.. H.le

  • Man had Lenovo vibeshot before a phone which looks like a proffesional camera. Now have Moto X4 a phone with looks totally unique in every aspect. Thats the phones i like. With a premium feelings and unique design. Something that nobody copy. Copies of apple X or Samsung S8 and 9 series are everywhere.

  • Robot face notch! :)

  • ...and what sort of design do you like?

  • this is an example of irony

  • Man look at the front and back of Note 9 especialy back. Never saw anything that horrible and we speaking about a flagship phone for 1000+ euros. And S9? That slippery paper think like device with paper thin curved screen which break on even minimal accidental damage? And is screen protector resistant :-). Nothing is worse even HTC U12 or 11 with its ugly price and zero durability looks more gorgeous. Sony XZ2 premium is heavy brick thick like armor of tank but yet looks better and fits better at least its not so slippery. But Pixel 3XL especialy the back looks like alien made from many different materials which cant fit together.

  • Nice lie man. You have no idea what a person with almost 200 IQ can do.

  • how is the note 9 and s9 plus more ugly than the g7 thinq p20 pro and practically any phone that came out this year that isn't the htc u12+ and xperia xz2

  • then they should get you to design them am pretty sure they would already be in bankruptcy:)

  • And the WINNER of the most ugly phone of 2018 year is...... GOOGLE PIXEL 3 XL. With the Note 9 as second and Samsung S9+ with its paper like breakable screen on a third place.

  • It's 256, not 265

  • Dual cam is a mere bonus Notch in this case is cute. That robot face is hilarious however it's not THAT bad. Just annoying if it's too large. And chin helps you hold the phone.

  • Cons - No dual cam - Notch - Big chin

  • It definitely looks hideous

  • In 2017 Google mock apple, now Google make a notch phone like Apple iPhone X (iPhone 10)..... Google is LOSER!!! Google mock Apple video:

  • Why Google didn't make 265 GB version until now??

  • Well...on paper...Google did the OPPOSITE of what we users want (no notch, micro SD card, headphone jack, etc). Of course they can't please anyone at this point...

  • When you set 1 rear camera, and two front cameras...

  • that's one ugly notch!

  • Yeah, because nobody gave a damn when Motorola did it. Phones after the Motorola Droid still had the jack. It was only after Apple took it off that companies stopped including it. Like the notch, Apple wasn't the first to do it, but it was the one to popularize it. Apple just had that influence, it's the most valuable company in the world.

  • Yeah well too bad Huawei only makes garbage phones.

  • ...notch/schlotch whoTF cares ? gonna parade around all day w/a, "chk out my pretty phone, chk out my pretty phone !", look on ur face ? *pfft* ...heck, XL's got one o' the best cam/vid sys's going, 2 (TWO) actual front facing REAL STEREO spkrs (could gvasht about wearing earbuds, headphones these days...security's a must), IP67, etc., etc...sheeit, update the screen & let's see whatcha got, Goog...bring it on !

  • notch?

  • Used to be that in return for handing over your life to google so they could monetize it you got a really good phone for a relatively good price. Now they want top dollar for their electronics (current cream of the crop is well into Apple territory) but they STILL rip'n'strip you for every bit of information and sell it to everyone who wants it. So no thanks. If I'm going to have to pay Apple money I want Apple privacy protection. I'm gone Google, bye !

  • same like 3.5mm jack... some android phone already didnt have jack before apple did , but apple the one to be blameed

  • That is the UGLIEST notch I've seen so far!

  • Only one camera, ugly ass notch

  • Congratulations on having the absolute worst NOtch design in the world. Wow just amazing, I know Google are full of programmers and engineers and not designers but seriously, how did this monstrosity pass initial testing..

  • My question is why not widen the notch a little? At least then it doesn’t bunch up together and then take up even more space. Hell, I’d even go with 2 notches, since I’ll still have stereo speakers, symmetry, and a design that stands out compared to other smartphones

  • But it was the company whose notch got copied the most

  • A phone is more than it’s specs. After all, the Pixel 2 beat every other camera out at what the others needed two cameras for: portrait mode. Doesn’t matter how many cameras you put, if the software for the camera isn’t good, then a bunch of cameras isnt going to fix that

  • dear, you cant say like that . 12 mp is good at all . but you have to think about what they did to pixel 2 , 2xl ...what you think they build a awsome camera , actually im a sony fan . but i have to compromise. because its a beast of camera . best of all 2017 to 2018 . best portrait mode. check with the net . i think you may have to watch you tube about more information.

  • Humans are really hard to please. They always think they can do better.

  • The Oneplus 6 is another iPhone X rip-off.

  • Why would anyone want to buy such an ugly phone?

  • The cow phone

  • Only a single 12.2mp camera for secondary?! wow its 2018 my god, at least a dual 12mp would be acceptable; if you are looking for an alternative to this, the Huawei P20 or P20 Lite offers better specifications at a better price point, or even the P Smart for that matter

  • Google have never had them hired. That's the problem :).

  • is the ugliest phone i've ever seen....

  • Eeyuuu...I hate that ugly design. Google, I know u make very good phones with flawless software experience but this phone looks really horrible. Please take cues from the market...I mean just look at the likes of Oneplus 6, Samsung Galaxy S9.

  • i love that phone

  • Yes LG was. They had notch from 2015

  • I know and I didn't say that.

  • But if I had to choose, I would pick the regular Pixel 3 because it retain the dual ff camera! The "reason" why 3 XL would had that 'Menacing' notch

  • Iphone was not the first company that introduce the notch

  • Wow! The first notch phone I didn't hate. That notch looks Menacing!

  • I don't know why does it write 63.3%, it was 79.3% yesterday.

  • Notch.. Screen-to-br %63.3..!?? If it is not stupid design then what is this strategy..!?

  • Usually I don't mind the notch's existence. But Fuuuuck! This one is so ugly even Asmodeus (king of demons, and the most evil being in the myths) would run from it in fear!

  • Zero personality , not even close to the FOOT PRINT DUST of p20 pro's

  • HTC U12+ is much better than this ugly phone.

  • This phone's designed after Vegeta.

  • waaoow this is some seriously ugly as hell phone, well done designer team.

  • Google should fire thier designers asap ugly phone

  • Agree with u!!! Uglier than sh$t i thought

  • Apple weren't the first company to introduce a notch....

  • Google - company which makes fun of Apple, then copies everything bad from them.

  • Ugly as sh$t

  • disgusting as hell. designers to a firing squad.

  • That is one ugly phone

  • Apple : lets ditch the headphone jack on iPhone 7 Google: makes fun of apple for removing it one year later ditching the headphone jack Apple: lets make a phone with a notch Google: makes fun of apple one year later lets make a phone with a notch 😂😂😂

  • I don't know why many of people hate iPhone, All Big brands names are following the trends of apple, no matter ugly things like Notch.. No Headphone jack.. No Re-moveable battery.. No expandable storage.. I hate iPhone also but only due to its high price tag.. I think Google start following apple's price tag also :-)

  • And Google says that they don't copy Apple...

  • this the ugliest pixel i have ever seen. the knot on the top is so wide maybe to balance the look since it has a bottom chin.. but still not good looking imho.. tsk tsk

  • Google "the company who follow worst designs" and "over priced too"

  • It better have QHD+ screen

  • Apple didn’t put chin tho

  • 90 out of 100 people doesnt like notch did you get that Google

  • It´s rumored. It´s not confirmed. Don´t be silly, Ok? ;)

  • *reads comment, then looks at notch* *laughs at it then becomes suspicious because 2 cameras mean twice the surveillance from NSA*

  • And i thought Samsung S line from S6 edge S7 edge S8 and S8 plus S9 and S9 plus are the world ugliest phones along with apple X. I was mistaken they hold second place this one dominates. Even a Xelibri line from Sagem looks much better :-)

  • Compared to this bulky fat ugly thing chinese phones are like a miss world.

  • The Pixel 2XL looks way better than this one

  • It's not just copying... The notch is a good thing for more display in a small package... Many manufacturers probably thought about a notch before... But Apple was the first to do it because they're sure enough it will be successful... That's easy for Apple because if they show Apple fans a brick with an Apple logo, they all will buy it for 500$... I'm not saying that Apple products are bad, they're just overpriced; really overpriced...

  • sooooo uglyyyy

  • What's the point in a huge notch when there's already an enormous chin at the bottom? This copying of Apple is just shameless, Google

  • this is not the official image of this phone anyway wait for it

  • this thing looks so ugly

  • that notch and that chin !! hahaha cant help it !!

  • WHAT THE !!! what are you Google like a chines phone ??? HAHAHA !! wanna be a part of the copycat group of chines phone ?? ugliest phone on 2018 lol XD

  • I would say they should skip this one and work on a full screen display without notch like what Vivo or OPPO has done or even more than that. then it would be true flavour otherwise nothing special, just ordinary..

  • This one really looks ugly! The smaller Pixel 3 looks OK, but this...

  • One word: "Fugly" The rest of phone's internals is great, and I can't wait for the superb camera on what Google has to deliver this year though!

  • welp ugly as hell, better grap small version of pixel 3

  • LOOK a notch! Very ugly notch!

  • Ugliest phone of the year

  • vomit... ugly

  • This notch looks funny... Like a robot face lol
