this is one hell of a phone, love it, it was very good... back then. well... i used this phone like 3 years ago before i was 'forced' to move to an Android. love the design very much, SenseUI, weather animation, it was so nice & smooth. very good response too. i won't mind if i have to use this phone again todays. i would say 9 points out of 10.

It's ok as a cell phone, but horrible as a smartphone. It's hard to find apps for a PocketPc device. The battery often gets hot and Windows crashed several times when browsing on the net. I don't like it. I'm happy it's discontinued. Get an android phone.

Yes, I had this problem with my Touch HD. Unfortunately, it is a symptom of touchscreen failure. 4 weeks after starting to do this, my touchscreen freezed forever and I had to replace it. The new touchscreen, which I bought from ebay, functioned for only 8 months and after that freezed too. Now I have to buy some other phone. I will miss my Touch HD, but there is nothing you can do to repair it.

I have touch hd for more than 2 years and i never had any issues with the internet, i have used gprs previously and now i am using 3G, no problems at all apart from that the fone itself is slow so internet is a lttl slow as well(incomparison with the latest :-(). i am not an expert though bt i suspect I think you have received wrong settings from the service provider. you can as well try to take out your sim for 2 min and then restart the fone...... btw which network provider????

U can factory reset the fone from settings> system> clear storage. Option 1 which u have mentioned is hard resetting your fone and it is not recommended. It should be done only if u are having some touch problems with your fone. Option 2 is not factory reset it just restarts ur fone. I am having the same gprs issue and have done all things that u have mentioned but dint help me.. so i came to the conclusion that HTC HD1 sucks

I am trying to do internet setting but its not helping evrytime i get an error cannot connect for unknwn reason i checked with my network service provider but they tried 5-6 times and came to a conclusion that its a cellphone settings issue when i contacted HTC they said to do factory reseton my phone and told me 2 ways of doing it 1) remove the battery afetr few secs put it again and thn press volume up and down button together and later press power button at the same time...it didnt worked. 2) they told me to remove back panel and press the reset button ....still no progress i wasn't able to do factory reset but i want to ask u expert guyz here is it necessary to do factory reset as i dnt wnt to lose my data in the phone but at the same time i want to enjoy interent gprs on m y phone pls suggest a solution you guyz can even mail me if possible on [email protected] phone is from singapore and i am using it in India. pls guys help me

click on your network icon when you at the home screen. then NOTIFICATIONS screen will open, you will see the internet gprs running time. Click on the network icon next to the running internet time. New screen will appear "communications manager", now look for the DATA CONNECTION icon it will show green for on, click on it to terminate the DATA CONNECTION. easy peasy!

If you want an HTC smartphone that looks great, has decent specs (better than this one) and does its job, buy the HTC Legend. One piece aluminium, faster than this phone, capacitive touch screen, same price category!

A very bad phone. For it's time the specs where top of the food chain and HTC did a decent job with the hardware, considering how new the touch screen market was. Still, when looking at the design and comparing it to phones HTC made later the same year (specifically the QWERTY phones, most of which with Qtek) there's no doubt this wasn't their most phenomenal work: the aluminum lens protector does not validate the very cheap feel of the plastic housing. The touch screen suffers from the flaws you'd expect of one of the first full touchscreen phones: it's pressure based, as were (to my knowledge) all phones at the time of release, but because of it's size the screen is very loose in the middle, making it hard to be accurate, and very tight around the edges, making it hard to close applications. Overall, the touch screen doesn't help the comfort you will have in using this phone. Worst of all, however, is Windows 6.1, even in conjunction with HTC Touchflow. The software was far ready to be full touch and the hardware doesn't seem capable of processing the not-so-efficient operating system, which was directly translated from windows XP. Overall, this phone is badin comparison to some of the great QWERTY phones HTC put on the market running Windows mobile 6.1, but its especially a piece of junk in comparison to HTC-phones with other operating systems, or even certain SE or Nokia phones (not to mention the i-word). Do not buy this phone, especially nowadays. You'll be very disappointed. (I have some good hopes for Win7 though).

I am using the HTC Touch HD, after I purchased this device, I feel regret as I have spent a lot of money on it. there are very very limit option to use this device. Example as I cannot use Skype Video chat, as well as some other video chat applications. I cannot upgrade some new software such as windows 6.5. etc.. If we make a comparison between HTC and Iphone, it's very much far different. To disconnect your internet connection press with your stilus on the antena signal indicator , will apare the name of your servise privider, press on the antena icon it will open connection manager, turn off data connection. It will auto connect when you will use internet applications. For performance: Start->Utilities->Tweaks->open:Advanced­ Config Press on the +Power Management and change all fields to "Enabled" After that open +Performance: 1.File system cache: Enabled 2.File system cashe size: 8MB 3.File system filter cache: 131072 sectors 4.Glyph cache: 128KB It should help, my battery life is othe 2 days,but it also deppends on how hard you use your phone.

Dear mudit,i didn't have that problems.Try to shut down your ppc and then hold pressed the volume and start up botton, it will apeare red,green,blue, screen, connect the USB cable and try to instal again.

The phone is great with Energy rom from xdadevelopers. with original rom is not very impresive. Do not be compared with iphone or galaxy s. you have to be patient with it and try not move faster in menus.

I postd a negative comment many months ago unfortunately th phone is still a shocker just regret didn'tsell it of straight way. Almost impossible to answer on first ring. Nearly all incomings need to ring twice same for outgoings . and very strange to see it make calls by iself. Shame it such a shocker. got to take the hit and write it off.

Hi I have one HD, and I have a sad story for the after sale service. My device had a problem that it can't be connected to PC. Device sent for maintenance and it stay with the agent for more than 80 days, and finally I have been called to pay $400.00US in order to have it fixed?. I refused and requested to have it back without any repair. When I got it, I it has been found not working at all?. It has been returned and device is still with the agent and I am not sure wither I could have it repaired or not?. Sadly to say I am very disappointed and I will never ever think for htc again. The red button on the back of the phone is the soft reset button, not a factory settings button. The factory setting is vol down and switch phone on. then the bootloader screen asks you to press vol up to reset factory settings

It cant be the screen guard,it wouldnt make such a huge interference,If you have a warranty you should make use of it. Anyway it appears you will need to bring it to the nearest HTC service shop and they will tell you whats wrong. Good luck

Hi Lucas & everybody. I tried and it worked.now I have skipped screen alignment and my home screen opens. But again some of the touch feature works on the screen and some not(even at the same screen location!). Also on the home screen touch scroll, if i press any icon phone keeps goin to the last icon of settings and doesnt scroll back to home. Also the four feather keys below screen doesnt work. Wat could be the problem? Some say touch guard causes problem or the cables inside phone gets loose..Changing Touch screen of HD is very xpensive & nt readily availabl too..So i want2 try evrythin b4..pls answer..

Akash I had a similar problem,you can find a small file on xda forum that lets you SKIP the screen alignment. You need to dl it and put it on your phone,then the setup will skip the screen alignment part and everythin willb e ok

If you are having problem with the screen alignment, i'll advise you to change the ROM you have. I can suggest you to use Topix WM6.5 roms with sense 2.1 or 2.5, pretty smooth running and enhance the phone a lot. also your problem may be solved. If its not, explain ur problem on XDA site, they'll gladly help you. Cheers.

hi,do you have a spare battery,try charging it to 100% then try it and if still cannot connect, try to connect through usb to the pc and see if you can get to boot screen(three colour screen) and then try to flash a different rom(if u are used to it)or else go and try xda-developers.com for more info in the HD forum there...just trying to help...tq

I have recently bought touch HD and with any missed calls or new SMS I do not see notification LED works, however power LED is working fine when I am charging and it turns orange while charging. HTC HD IS NOT OPENING When I using IGO8, its sudenly freeze and I made soft reset. And its turned off and after push again power button and turned on after a 2 minutes its turned off again and no more open. it has %80 batarry life and when I connect again to adaptor but no charging no red light. I went to phone fixer last day and he said its main software is down and we must connect a jet..... like hardware and he wants 700$. its not acceptable price. in my country this kind of devices so experience and I bought this device from germany and I changed rom and no more warranty. I want to ask you who knows jet...... like device to rescue touch hd or any solution to fix it. Thanks alot warlock, that's what I wanted to know... mainly. I'm not looking for a business phone, on the contrary I'm looking exactly for the specs you described for Omnia II. Only reason for which I was considering the HTC was that it has more RAM so it supports multitasking better. The low RAM O II has is the only problem it has... the rest is just perfect for what I want. (buying it for a gift :))

I had the same problem, I was told all you do is press and old the end call button (bottom right), this didn't work because I had my security code activated. If you turn this off the key lock works, so if when you turn the phone off and on and it ask for a password this is why the key lock doesn't work?? I think this is design fault!!

in my experience yes the battery drains fast coz i charge twice daily (3 hours maybe bcoz its new) the bluetooth when u recieve the file u have to look for it in ur folder in sending via bluetooth tap the item in ur folder u wanna send for 3 sec until the option pops up then beam file..... i hav no idea for other options maybe theres more easy shortcuts....kinda new with this mobile...but this thing is a new experience i love this mobile....not ur ordinary mobile...and this is expensive! this thing really rock! keep rockin'

main difference between hd and hd2 is the multi touch input system,which is very convient for all aspect.hd2 have a fast processor(1gz) where hd dosent.hd2's ram is bigger so there is a room for improvement for fast access .storage capacity of both phone is almost same.with cook rom you can easily upgrade hd to wm 6.5.

I've used this phone before, it's a great phone with a ton of great features. The only downsides I'd say is that it's massive plastic, i.e. that the entire phone is plastic and that the sound quality when you play back MP3's are a bit sub-par. Also, the camera isn't the best. (But that's just my opinion.) Other then that, I have nothing I can say against the phone itself. Gorgeous display, GPS, Wifi (wlan), 3G, 5mpx camera etc. It's got everything and then some. no its not possible because while flashing to cooked rom the spl version of the phone going to change to other version.so if you think to install official 6.5,you have to reinstall your fist one default 6.1 version with same spl version.

first of all install active sync drivers with the help of manual cd ,which is given with the box of htc hd.after succesful installation, check out the rom version of hd.it must be hspl 1.59,cause you are using dutty's rom.that means your phone dosen't need hard spl.half job is done,before flashing to another rom backup your data with pimback or any other services,flashing erase your all data.check out the htcpedia site,register your account and goto rom forum,choose your rom,but new rom must have version 1.56 or 1.59. download it to your pc,unzip it you'll get RUU file in it,just connect your phone to pc in sync mode and run RUU and follow the instructions.job is comleted now it'll take 15 minutes to flash a new rom. The phone itself restart.before enjoying new rom dont forget to do hard reset twicely. i hope it would be help........

At Scope Samsung, LG and HTC are all Asian brands (HTC is Taiwanese and the rest are South Korean). Please get facts right!). And also Samsung and LG are more 'known' around the world compared to HTC. Most of people don't know HTC. Samsung and LG both make low-end to high-end phones. But HTC generally only make high-end devices. But in general I think they all are the same. Really depends on what suits you.Didn't you know Samsung and LG control over 30% of world's market share?. Personally I am HTC and LG fan.

Well i also had the same problem but since ive got 2 batteries i just used one for a long time (abt 3 months) . Then i decided to get it fully charged and see whether its performance will improve. I did taht plus i also hard reset my device due to some issues and the battery life really impresses me..It can last for over 5-7 days (at times i listen to my songs and used its wifi to connect to the internet) So i think u should just give the battery a break make sure its totally drained leave it for several days and try using it again.I guess batteries need to have their breaks too, once in a while.Hope this helps

Try to close the programmes when not in use. Try not to keep open the wi fi and bluetooth when not in use. If u r not listening to music, try to keep the music player closed. If u r not using word / excel try to close the programme keeping many proframmes open simultaneously for long time reduces the battery strength and life as well. Thanks

Hey. I just finished 1 year using HTC Touch HD. Its a great phone. Many other mobiles in market claims to be good. but when it comes in actually using it, this phone is miles ahead of itc competitors.. My other friends uses, Samsung, SE , Nokia etc smart phones, but when we sat together and discuss, we found that HTC is much more user friendly, less problematic in day to day usage and gives much more without a hassle to every user. The best site to help you with unlocking your rom and upgrading it is xda-developers To choose your rom:- ­ I'm using Holy grail R0. you can choose whatever you like from the list under Blackstone (HD). You can also try many of them. I had difficulty the first time I unlocked my phone, but after I completed I felt big success. But you have to know that you will loose your phone warranty unless you know later how to put the original official rom back.

Everything seems to work fine when the screen is on but when the screen shut-off in standby mode. The message alert tone will not ring until i turn on the screen. Hello Jack if you are concerned regarding Full Flash Support, both devices support flash, the more updated the HD is the better the support.. The HD2 supports it already.. Device size isn't a problem, i thought it was a major enlargement in size.. But it's like if you bring a big flat hammer and hit the HD flat, it will become the HD2.. I'm saying this because when i try to insert the HD into the HD2's pouch, it feels the same when i try to push it in or pull it out..

Hi all, I found a buyer who's willing to pay $525 for my HD.. I can't say no to that, compared to the price in my country i think i'll go ahead and sell it, 2 days ago i bought the HD2 and until i sell my HD i'll make some hardware software comparison (Maybe on video), i will flash a new HD2 1.48 build with Sense 2.5 on the HD so it will be a fair comparison.. The only drawback with the HD2 is the very very sensitive capacitive screen which makes you select things by mistake, there is a fix cab file for that though.. Until now, videos doesn't give you a reason to get the HD2, but when you see it in real life its way different.. Multitouch Capcitive screen + 1Ghz + 4.3 screen!! Wow!!.. The performance is year ahead of all..

Hello vishal, The holy grail 2.1 Manila TouchFlo3D doesn't support landscape in photos and music, because it was designed that way.. Unless you use the versions without the wallpaper weather animation, you can then install manila landscape cab from Dutty's extra cab files and rotate the whole tabs from Home - Settings.. Regarding manila 2.5, you'll have Manila landscape but you will only be able to rotate the music and photos, and i don't recommend it, because it is way too slow, and there is SMS issues where if you want to open inbox it takes a while and sometimes freezes.. The reason is that its designed for HD2.. Holy Grail 2.1 is the best so far.. Energy is doing is best too..

This ROM is almost bug free Cooked ROMs are usually faster than the original ROMs The first ROM was difficult for me because I'm also a beginner and because you have to unlock the original rom and usually you'll face some obstacles. The other roms will be easy. have a look at the steps in the following site and you can decide if you can pass all the steps or not:

Just copy your song to my ring tons at documents and settings at device memory then you will be able to chose it as a ring tone or copy it to ringtones folder inside windows folder use file explorer or any similar soft ware to do this or by yor pc when you attached your HD to it

We are not fooling people.. We are only helping users and try to get the best out of the huge work around behind the Windows Mobile device and OS.. I agree with the web expreience in the n900, but it not anymore after internet 6 which came out with 6.5 cooked ROMs 7 months ago and the new Opera 10!.. Oh and by the way, i haven't even mentioned the HD2.. N900 can handle 12 programs, but look at the lag when you have opened 8.. My HD handles 11, and after that i can't open anymore due to built in restrictions, but the device works smoothly with all programs open.. Maemo 5 was suppose to be there a long time ago instead of the Jurassic era Symbian..

So why pay high if windows mobile cant satisfy basic need of browsing???? gsmarena review of nokia n900 says " the most important features of the browser - its Flash support. Nokia N900 comes with full Adobe 9.4 Flash and not the Flash Lite that most other handets support(e.g windows mobile or symbian). We have never seen a handset handle flash content as smoothly and quickly as the N900. If the web sites you browse have a lot of Flash elements you should definetely check out the Nokia N900 when looking for your next handset." So dont waste your hard earned money for this touch hd2 expensive brick which cannot give us basic things like complete browsing experiance like nokia n900. Plus at present nokia n900 has atleast more than 300 free apps. Imagine the future apps library for nokia n900(linux based and open source).

Yes the speaker is Lauder on the HD2. I want to do a test of the HD with Duttys HD Sense 2.1 Holy Grail R0 And do a comparison. I know the HD2 is faster but i need to know by how much. So i can tell people if it worth the price difference of the HD to the HD2. By the way i got the .net 3.5 working on the phone. I was using the wrong download. It turns out the one you need for the phone is called .NET Compact Framework 3.5 Redistributable and it is a .msi file not a .exe file

Audio in calls and speaker phone is much lower on HD2 than HD without even having to boost it with HD tweak. With the volume all the way up on some calls I have to hold the phone away for my ear. (Still using HD tweak to block gprs & edge)

Overall build HD was good HD2 is better. Feels solid No gloss finish As for if it will scratch or not I not going to test that. lol I bought a screen protector the same time with the phone and put it on as soon as I took it out of the box so I don�t even know if the screen is glass or hard plastic. And it is a fingerprint magnet just like the HD as far as the screen goes. Battery life is the same as HD Album is the same as Leo r5 just moves smoother Opera runs faster and smoother It has the pinch to zoom but I think that is over rated. Is still double tap Pinch to zoom also work to zoom other things like mail file explore and many more. (But not every thing.) Image quality is the same on the big screen. I don�t see color banding like what was in the leo r5 rom or like what the review on GSM said. Maybe they had a test model. Daylight viewing is a little better. But not by much. Units is more comfortable for me.. I have big hands.. Will try to take a picture of it in my hand this weekend so you can see how it fits. I'd like to know about the screen build quality, i mean in the HD i always have to wipe the finger-prints out of it, and regarding scratches, there was a video where someone was trying to scratch it using a knife, a key and a pair of scissors and nothing happened. Is this true about it? Hold off on buying�. I want to get my old HD borrowed update the rom and see the performance difference side by side. There is no HSPL for the HD2 as yet. .net is out of date on HD2 so some stuff that worked on the HD not working on it. Keeps asking for a newer .net (working on getting new one on the phone not successful as yet.)

I'd like to know about the screen build quality, i mean in the HD i always have to wipe the finger-prints out of it, and regarding scratches, there was a video where someone was trying to scratch it using a knife, a key and a pair of scissors and nothing happened. Is this true about it? So can you give a feedback regarding: - Battery life. - hTC Album which i never used because of its lack of features. - Opera browsing. - Screen resolution compared to the HD 480x800. - Screen build. - the whole unit size (does it feel comfortable?) My purchase of the HD2 lies between your hands.. ;)

dexter the problem we were having in leo with the lagging and crashing sms after you restore 300 or more is not a problem with the HD2. it restored all my old sms and the sms interface still not lagging.

Dexter I got My HD2 today. Will give a comparison review to the HD with LEOr5 seeing that was the last rom I used on my HD before I sold it I will say this much the camera performs much better under low light even with the flash off. Outdoor and indoor night shot with no flash delay was about only 1-2sec. And the shots are not motion bleared. With the flash it was about 1sec. Shots that are dark without the flash are still in focus. But with the flash on you can see a big difference in brightness. If there is anything you want to know in particular just ask

BUT!! ;) You can unlock it and maybe even upgrade to WinMo 7 in the future.. :) Enjoy Running smooth WinMo 6.5 ROMS for now: Unlocking: ?t=505377 Roms: ?f=453 Mostly recommended: 1- Miri 2- Dutty 3- Energy Two things you have to know about hTC ROMs: 1 - WinMo builds: - Build 23XXX: Its the latest WinMo build but still under development so you'll encounter lots of bugs which will drive you crazy.. They are improving now though - Build 21XXX: Its an improved old build but its bug free and i personally recommended it for now. 2 - The 2 Manila versions: Manila 2.1 is the old TouchFLo interface but yet faster than the new Manila (Sense) 2.5, The reason 2.5 is slower is because it was meant for a better processor like the HD2 so you'll find issues reading and writing SMS.. If you find Manila 2.5 (without hTC Messaging) that is not bad to install.. Cheers!

When i connect my phone to the PC, it shows on my phone 3 choices, "Active Sync, Disk Drive and Internet Sharing".. Choosing Disk Drive: On my PC i just go to "My Computer" and i find the drive "Removable Disk".. I can then do what ever i want on my phone's "Storage card" just like on a normal hard disk.. Choosing Active Sync: On my PC i go to "My Computer" and i find a phone icon there where i can access folders on my "phone memory" and "Storage Card". Internet Sharing: To use internet from phone or the other way around. (Never tried it before though)

It's not clear to me how you are doing the transfer, but the way I do it is a normal transfer, using windows explorer, of files from one folder (in your mobile) to any folder in your PC .just copy and paste process. The mobile has to be connected to the PC thru Activesync or Windows mobile dvice center (for Vista).

Don't just buy a windows mobile and depend on it out of the box, update the ROMs, install useful application.. After studing the ratings I bought the Touch HD instead of Blacberry bold. Reason being I moved over from an O2 thinking the transition might be easier. To date I can not find anything user friendly about the phone.I resent the amount of time needed to be an owner of this phone.From day one I stared to note difficulties until I got so many I got sick of writing. To name a few turn the phone during a call it hangs up,a great number of calls need to be made twice both in coming an out, very frustrating. Its not for carring in your pocket makes it own calls. Why do you guys get this after Miri? I don't have this issue at all.. I never installed stock roms except when there was no HSPL 1.56+.. Maybe it has something to do with USPL.. My phones is not unlocked, because i only flash USPL not HSPL, to run cooked ROMs, then it gets locked again unless i run USPL again.. :)

Yes like Anthony said.. They are all ROMs and built for the HD and are based on other platforms "Diamond 2(Topaz), Pro 2 (Rhodium), HD2(Leo)".. The Leo sense won't function like the R14 or 15.. The Sense is a bit slow in animation on the HD.. The SMS will annoy you unless you install 2.5 (Sense) without hTC Message, instead it will open the default Windows messaging application..

Dutty has 3 types of ROMs: 1- Dutty's wm6.1 2- Dutty's Rx wm6.5 Manila 2.1 3- Dutty's Leo Rx wm6.5 Manila 2.5 (Sense) You flashed the 2nd one, if you want hTC Sense then you have to flash the 3rd.. What i wanna say is you can't just install a Manila without installing a whole Rom, it's a built in thing.. :)

Hello Ark, if you still haven't decided to get the N900/920 or Omnia 2 then its your lucky day, It is realy recommend to get the HD2.. Not only that HD2 is better, you will get lots of support and upgrades from xda-developers.com and htcpedia.com.. You will be able to upgrade to WinMo 7 even if it wasn't officially out for the HD2.. hTC is the just best..

Hi Dexter, i'm mean better than spd 3.5 is b cuz of Ram memory that I already mention.and when using winterface and touch flo 3d, just make a short cut at touch flo front page(manila 2.5) than u can swift between touch flo n winter with one step :).And I like to use it is because no need to go for started menu for finding setting,if we had added the short cut that we mostly use in winterface:) hope u understand what I trying to say..^ ^ good day.

The most annoying thing about this device is that the HTC WinMo Touch Flo cannot be setup to launch a new browser. It can only launch the default ROM browser meaning that launching your latest Opera browser means going through the app menu. Otherwise, the best phone out there save the HD2.

There are many kinds of ROMs I prefer the ROMs cooked by Dutty Like dutty R15 which I'm using and Leo which is very popular and I think our favorite man Dexter Morgan is using. Isued it once, then i went back to R15 I also tried Miri and Xannytech which i didn't like. It depends on your taste.

Depending on your version of file explorer, you just have to hold on one file for a short while then drag to other files and you will select them as will. Then you can go to the menu and pick delete.

Why do people keep saying iPhone killer.. the Phones just develop in a much usable way, WinMo phones were touch screens since forever, when iPhone was released in 2007 as a touch screen that's after WinMo by 8 years, it should have been called WinMo killer then right?.. ;) So there is no killers, its just a way of making the interface easy and functions to be much faster and easier to reach by touch than to go up, down, left and right by the D-pad.. I saw the Moto Droid and it has a 533mhz CPU which is enough for Android OS, but not interesting since i think Touch Pro 2 can still compete with it easily .. Let me ask u this, what does the Android has that the WinMo doesn't?.. If you answer this, then i say get the Droid.. :)

If they are *.cab, then just drop them to the SD card and run them to install.. If they are *.exe then you install it from the PC while ActiveSync is connected.. No need to backup contacts or anything just cancel the Sync window that shows "next" (Don't worry it will stay connected) and choose the *.exe from your PC then follow the instructions..

j haved htc hd and j was big hardver problems whit conectivity with gsm. After service the device has another problem. After 30 min go to slep :). Now j have htc hero.his very good.

Hi guys, i have some problem with my phone. I couldnt get my network sometimes. It juz when no network but when i insert my sim card to another phone it work just fine. Sometimes it work fine with HTC and sometimes it don't. I'm pretty sure this is not the network problem by the service provider. Could it be some setting conflict or error in the windows?

Android 1.5 is running great on the HD.. Its still under development. Issues until now: - Wifi not working yet - GPS not working yet - Bluetooth not working yet - Power button not working yet. Screen will go to sleep automatically. - G-sensor not working yet. - Some SDcards like transcend still not working yet. - No Just run in Windows, restart to go back to windows.. Enjoy..

I don't think i'll flash Dutty's R15 or Leo R6, there are no major fixes. I don't see that Dutty fixed the Calendar issue when choosing a date in the appointment. I'll be waiting for Miri v30 if changes were convincing otherwise, guys, you have to use EnergyRom.. I'm using it now and i'm amazed of the apps preinstalled in there and speed.. Theme is great too.. choose the 17th and wait for the minutes showing above..

No ROM can have Arabic problems so don't worry, the only problem you'll face in arabic language is if you use Manila 2.5, the hTC messaging will show arabic words in backwards.. But if you open the Windows Default inbox you'll see its fine.. By the way i'm using new Energy ROM Latest Win 6.5.1 with Manila 2.1 and lots of useful application.. I'm just testing it now.. Xanny have a new improved ROM which i might check out soon hoping he fixed the freezing bug.. Miri v29 is better than Dutty R14, its more faster and stable...

Hello, Based on comments and posts in Xda and CE4Arabs, people are having sudden freeze in Xanny, they are now installing Miri v29.. And from the opinions, users are comparing Dutty's R14 and Miri V29.. I was shocked when i found out that Miri is better than Dutty now.. Just when i was about to return to R14, i'm now waiting until further upgrades from Xanny, dutty and Miri.. Until then, Thanks bro..

Thanks Transformer, I have to say i'm only impressed with Manila 2.1 for now, Leo Manila 2.5 is not final yet, therefor some speed issues will be there.. Please can you confirm that when you flick the Clock in Manila 2.5 upwards and down words in the Home tab there is no graphic frame rate issue and that it moves smooth and fast like 2.1? I'll either: - Go back to Leo R14 (2.1) - Stay with Miri v28 (2.1) - Update to Miri v29 (2.1) - MaryOne new Win 6.5.1 (2.5) - EnergyRom Photon (2.1)

Don't worry, cooked Roms will give you more space in RAM and ROM.. If you install applications that you used to install on your old ROM, they will run smoothly in new ROMs. So go ahead and install the cooked rom.. choose anyone for Kaiser, but i think that Mega is a new 6.5 with a new Manila TouchFlo2D..

But don't always charge it using USB.. Do it just in case of emergency.. The USB charges the Phone in a slow mode which isn't good for the long run.. When ever you charge a battery, always top it up to 100%, never remove the charge before that, it will lose its capacity with time.. :)

some of your QVGA programs will come up realy small on the HD(will still work but the real old ones will be very small)

You have to unlock using Hspl: Transformer's ROM is great but the problem is it develops every week.. You choose any of the following based on your preferences: 1- Energy ROM: 2- Miri's ROM: 3- Dutty's ROM: Each Roms have versions by Manila.. Like Manila 2.1 or Manila 2.5. Manila 2.1 is stable and fast. Manila 2.5 is slower and sometimes have issues, because its meant for the touch HD2. But it has lots and lots of features.. NOTICE: Read carefully threw everything, from unlocking your phone to ROM versions differences..

If you already have the HD then wait till early next year, but if you don't have it yet then, wait for the HD2.. :) So yes you have to wait for the HD2.. MaryOne so far: Leo Manila is the fastest of all ROMs, actually reads 100s of sms with no problem.. - Volume control is windows default but expanded - When you tap on the task bar a panel appears if you click on the Windows Logo the hTC volume control shows up. Weird ha? - No task manager on the top right corner It doesn't matter now.. I'm flashing Dutty R14 again.. :P

Both capacitive and resistive screens have features, but capacitive is better for current GUIs.. Put in mind though, that you won't be able to use a stylus (Screen pen) anymore.. So you'll find it hard to draw or write without a stylus, the reason is that resistive responds to a pixel touch, capacitive respons to a group of pixels... You have 2 options if i were you: 1- Buy a used HD until a better phone comes out next year. 2- Wait for the HD2

You can check replies about this opinion on the previous post from Anthony and my self and others as well.. To conclude, if you haven't bought an HD yet you have to get the HD2, but if you have one, hold on to it until you feel for a better upgrade.. My most interesting feature on HD2 is the Capacitive and 4.3" screen.. CPUs aren't necessary yet since the HD new cooked ROMs are pretty fast and satisfying, until more powerful apps come out next year..

thanks for the reply. I don't change phone that often. my last phone was the Qtek S200 and I had that about 2 years till I crashed a ATV I was riding into a dried up river. I think when I hit the ground or the trees on the way down it damaged the screen. because it stopped responding after that.

My friend bought his HD used as well for �290.. You wanna go ahead and sell, its up to you.. But like i said i will wait for a full review and see a convincing fact to replace my phone.. Other than that i will wait for the phone of the specs i mentioned.. I usually change my phone every 8 months to a year, but every phone had a convincing reason to replace..

I compared 6.1 with 6.5.. My friend was already not having problems with 6.1, he actually pointed alot of interesting facts about about the HD that his previous phone (iPhone3g) didn't have.. But noticing how much faster, stable and more friendly gui the cooked and 6.5 has, he wanted to flash it.. The Leo it self will need cooking as well, i noticed some slowness in videos on youtube.. Fast but not for a 1ghz cpu.. So its not perfect out of the box too.. Maybe you should clean up your basement.. I don't why you think we stay in basements to flash cooked roms.. I do that anywhere anytime, at work at home at my friend's place.. That's how ideotic you are to stay in basements with your phone and figuring out how to flash your head with a cooked brain..

LOL !! Finally you admitted that how nasty htc hd is out of box. Need lots of work to be done for even simple day to day use. So guys if you decide to buy new HTC HD, prepare to do the following: 1) Make "XDA developer" your Home page. 2) Clean up your parent's basement to flash cooked roms. The reason you need basement is: a) You can concentrate on your work b) No windows in basement: That means less chances of throwing your new HD out of window if something goes wrong.lol c) In the end, if you are not satisfied with rom the way you wanted after spending hrs �..at least you can je..rk off and take a good sleep. 3) Buying extra back cover could be handy - You may need to take out back cover & battery very often as it hangs often in the middle of sth. This makes the back cover loose.

the speed I think you are going to see is a drastic cut down in program startup times. and because of the more ram you will be able to have more apps open at the same time before you start to see lag. touchflo animation will also move faster.actual use of programs may be about the same as far as speed goes.

Here are the combination of features that will make me buy a phone after the HD. 1- nVidea Tegra/SnapDargon 2- Dual/Stereo Speakers 3- 8mp Camera+Flash 4- HD Video Capture (720p) 5- Physical tilting Keyboard (No on-screen keyboard, to work freely) 6- Front camera. 7- 4.1-4.3 inch 480x800 8- 1350mAh+++ Batteries 9- Stylus (Screen Pen) 10- Multi-touch Resisteve or capacitive. We'll hopefully hear something about those features soon.. Until then, when you go to the hTC section here, take a good look at the phones that have been released after the HD.. You'll really feel how this phone is holding on amazingly..

Apps are running amazingly on the HD, what kind of speed are we expecting? and for what? Is it gonna save half the time based on double the CPU performance size? Camera flash isn't necessary to replace a phone..

A couple of weeks ago my friend bought the HD and i showed him Dutty's cooked ROM on mine.. He went Berserk, i promised him we'd flash one on his phone but we didn't have time to meet yet and do that, last night we hangout and i was playng around with his phone, then i thought to my self, if people who bought their HD and never went for a cooked ROM won't be blamed at all for drooling to get the HD2.. I saw the following on the Stock 6.1 compared to Dutty's 6.5 while putting them side by side: 1- Manila is way too slow. 2- Slow functioning in settings tab 3- Some programs start slower. (You have to wait 3-5) 4- Camera is awful and way too slow. 5- Opera is annoyingly lagging when scrolling 6- Classic Start menu is fast + programs menu and settings. But interface is old. 7- Rotation is very slow, sometimes doesn't work until you rotate again. 8- Bluetooth features are limited. 9- Communication settings are old but working fast. 10- Battery drains faster. 11- Youtube didn't work with with the wifi access point i used. 12- Connection error Send/receive email via wi-fi.. GPRS/3G was fine. 13- Messenger was fine but Keyboard inputs was slow after typing. 14- hTC Album was rubbish, loading pics when browsing preview was very slow when you scroll down. 15- Taskbar notifications start with varied speed. very slow or very fast. 16- File Explorer navigation is slower. 17- Old Radio versions made the phone a bit warmer. 18- Phone pad started much slower, and when dialing numbers on Dutty's HD appeared faster. 19- Listening to a call wasn't as clear. 20- MS inbox felt like overloaded. But fairly fast. I don't know what else to add, my friend saw 2 exact hardware, but when looking at the 2 screens was like looking at 2 different phones. So since the HD with Dutty's Roms performs as fast as what's based on our needs, i don't see any reason why adding a 1Ghz processor, How would we use such power as of yet? Is there any apps yet to support that? Like 3D games other than Need for Speed or Spore or what so ever? They are all working fine on the HD.. When looking at Leo's Manila and how it performs on the HD, well it should not work at all if HD2 was certainly an upgrade.. Double the processor size but not much of performance difference.. We need to see more visual performance.. Like the difference between iPhone 3G and 3GS.. 3GS was calculated to be 4x faster than 3G..

1) Snapdragon chipset has been developed as a highly power-efficient platform. Ppl are simply bashing about phone' battery life even before the release. May be it got better battery life than Hd. Nobody knows�. wait & see. 2) Why u need secondary video camera? To use this features, your friend at the other end should also have this feature on his phone plus Carrier should also support this feature. 3) Handwriting recognition is something about softwares. There will be some programs later which will let you doodle on this massive screen with your finger without use of stylus. Moreover HTC has already filed patents for capacitive stylus. There are lots of programs for iphones�..you can write on screen with finger. 4) Physical buttons at the bottom is more about Personal Preference. You should delete this point. 5) Running leo rom on your HD is not so much fun as in HD2. 3 strong REASONS to get HD2: 1) 1ghz processor & 400 plus RAM 2) Big screen 3) Capacitive screen

I�m finding it really hard not to go out and buy the HD2 right now. lol I almost did it last night. What stopped me was... I really don�t like those physical keys at the front/bottom (ill find a way to damage it) But if it turns out they are not really moving parts but just a raised surfaces so you know where they are in the dark... Reasons to hold off... 1.I want to see if a next model comes out with a better battery. the HD has a better batter than the HD2 2.I want to see if a next model comes out with a front facing video camera. The HD has a front facing video camera. 3.I want to see if a next model finds a way to bring back hand writing Recognition. The HD has that. 4.I want to see if a next model gets rid of the moving keys on the front face. I liked how the HD was all touch screens to the front. (this is the only real deal breaker for me) 5.I already have the HD and I�m running the Leo rom on it (people that don�t have a HD need not count this one) Reasons I think the HD2 is way better than the HD and its making me want to have it now :-) .... 1.HD2 has bigger screen than my HD. 2.HD2 has twice the computing power of the HD. 3.HD2 has a flash for the Camera, the HD does not. 4.HD2 has a multi touch screen, the HD does not. Everything here I including interface I already do on my HD with the help of cooked roms (it just will not run as fast as it would on the HD2 because of the amount of computing power the HD2 has) - Digital compass - MP3/WAV/WMA/eAAC+ player - AVI(DiVX/XviD)/MP4/WMV/H.264/H.263 player - Facebook and Twitter integration - YouTube client - Pocket Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF viewer) - HTC Peep, HTC Footprints - Voice memo - T9

The HD2 is surprisingly cheaper than i thought in clove... :S We need to share reasons why we shouldn't rush in to getting the HD2.. this is what I really like about the wm6.5 cooked roms. 1. the full qwerty is much better than the one the phone comes with(i can use it with my thumb.) 2.the touchflo goes a lot deeper so you see less of wm and more of that good looking touchflo. 3. how the new contacts integrates sms,mms,email call filters and Facebook all into one place. 4. the new start menu is more organized and usfull. 5. touch flo 3D has a better calendar. there are more things I like but that is the main points

At first must wait before any use of the device because has to make download a new SW. Can�t make properly connection and sync with ALL his PC with Microsoft Office, Outlook and so on. OK I admitt he has Apple as a support. No problem. Guys, I�ve became from Microsoft a notice about a possibilities for downloading a WM 6.5 on some HTC devices. HD is not yet on the list. If you noticed, Anonymous who complained about his HD battery and how useless the phone is, didn't reply back yet, well i'm thinking he won't.. i hope you really do read the .pdf file. because most people when I tell them to read the user manual they think I'm giving cripternight to superman. :-) but then they go and say the phone/windows mobile can't do this and it can't do that. but if they had read they would see that a lot of things are not defaults but are options that can be turned on or changed. so by reading the book you know what your options are before you give your self a new set of options with the use of a cooked rom. (the printed book has less info than the .pdf book)

ok go to www.htc.com find this phone in the dropdown under the support section. pick the user guide tab download the user manual. (not the quick start guide.) and just read every thing. it will teach you more about windows mobile and what this phone can do right out the box. if you ever buy any windows mobile phone don't just rush to change the rom. cooked roms are not made by the phone manufacture. some thing will be better some things will be not be better. features maybe added and some may be taken out. the only way to know what is what is if you tried every thing on the original rom before you change it for a cooked one.

Thanks Dexter. Vish if you plan to backup and restore sms with pimbackup or any other program, you will have to use r14 because leo does not play nice with the sms restore. if you don't need your old sms then leo r5 is ok. look just try both for about 2days each and see which you like more :)

The only reason i sold my first diamond was because it wasn't WVGA.. It was one of the best phones i owned ever.. I would've had it till now, awesome cooked roms!!.. So imagine how Widescreen had an influence.. The same reason people bought the Diamond 2, if the first Diamond had a WVGA, then there would be no Diamond 2, reason is, that all Diamond 2 software will be compatible with the first Diamond.. I work with coordinates on my phone i touch tiny pixels to draw a reference.. Now how would i do that on a capacitive screen.. Although i love capacitive screens and i was the most excited person to know about WinMo having a capacitive screen, smoooootttthhhh.. Now The HD with its latest WinMO 6.5 build and the Awesome cooked roms thanks to our Rom developers, i can't see why leaving it behind as yet.. I would consider the HD2 an upgrade to the HD if it didn't have the same way of upgrade from Diamond 1 to 2.. Although the Widescreen was a huge reason to upgrade from Diamond 1.. HD2 is like i said before "The minster of Gadgets".. But that doesn't mean that the HD has it's end infact its just starting to get interesting here with the latest 6.5 build's since Leo is running smoother on it than on the previous builds.. ;) Just waiting to hear about Windows 7 and the multi-touch feature, hoping to have a software to active such feature on the HD..

If you guys already own one of those old Qualcomm 528 ghz processor HTC devices, then listen to them. They both are helpful in solving your problems. Winmob is always troublesome�no wonder you guys come here seeking help. But if you are one of those who is wondering what to buy and need help on deciding smart phones then DO NOT listen to them. They never tell you the truth and they do not understand that everybody has diff tastes. If you can live up with wasting time on tweaking, flashing and crashing then go for those old HTC devices. I got this for you on the HTC web page under FAQs in the battery and power section. I did this test and didn't even lose 10% of battery life... My battery drains fast even without using Bluetooth, WiFi or GPS. Is there any way to check if it�s faulty or not? 1. Charge the battery to 100%. 2. Disable from running or uninstall any 3rd party applications. 3. Disable Bluetooth. 4. Disable WiFi. 5. Enable flight mode 6. Set backlight to maximum settings. 7. In the power management settings, uncheck any option that would set the backlight to turn off. 8. Let phone stay idle for 1 hour and check battery capacity. 9. If there is a loss of 40% or more, then this means that battery is faulty and needs to be replaced.

what knock off phone did you buy? not even on my first charge and when I was using my original rom did I get such bad battery life. as for bug fixes for the original rom they are all on www.htc.com under the support tab. there is even a rom update there. and under text support the is a "how to test to see if you have a defective battery". you just need to read more. and if you need help gave your self a name. give the details of each problem and I will gladly help you. unless you are just one of those people that just like to complain and don't really want to fix the problem.

1a. let me start by saying if you really want an upgrad and you have the money, the phone to buy is the HTC HD2. I gave a link in a post bellow where you can buy it now. now on to the HTC HD... 1b. the only time you get a lag to talk about is if you are running 7 or more apps at the same time. the HD may have a slower CPU but twice the memory/ram for running programs. that memory/ram has to work together with the CPU. if you know how windows computers work you would know that they are only as fast/stable as there weakest link. program memory/ram is the weakest link in the I900,HD & HD2. But what should be noted is the ram in the HD2 is almost as much as the CPU in the HD but if you think that is bad you should notice the ram in the I900 is about half the ram or the HD which puts the I900 at the bottom of the weak link pack. 2. The HD can do everything and more than the I900 with the help of 3rd party apps & roms there is more support for the HD that way over the I900. (and every 3rd party app I have used so far was free.) 1c. If you put leo r5 on a HD you will get a bit more lag at times when you are running 3 or more apps at the same time because that interface was ment for the HD2 that has a bigger CPU and more ram. (but it looks so good and dose so much more so I'm running it anyway :-) 3.The only damage I have on my phone is to the screen protector, my 1year old bit my phone so it has teeth marks on the screen protector. Because my phone is in a silicon skin the body still looks like new. I did not change the screen protector because if the 1year old gets her hand on it she will just bite it again. Hope this info was helpful to anyone that wanted to know.

This must be the worlds most useless device. Several months of living with it has caused extreme misery due to its slowness, freezing, constant malfunctions, hopeless touchscreen interface, plus battery life of 5 hours maximum. Thats 5 hours if you dont use the device and keep all applications shut down - if you have any apps open or dare to use the device the battery dies after 2 hours or even less. Finally in my experience HTC have no interest on sorting out their problems...if you buy one will be on your own.

If you think your old Hd is old school and does everything wat you wanted ...then no need to go for HD2. I dont own HD but i've played with it. It lags big time in comparison to iphone. Its nowhere near Iphone's smoothness....and mind you..iphone just got 600mhz processor....it goes like rocket. May be its due to aging win OS, or may be due to resistive screen or may be due to processor power...watever reason, HD is slow. Finally I admit that HD2 is a real iphone killer. This phone is awesome. Only downside I can see is the battery packed under the hood. No secondary camera....not a deal breaker. I don't use it anyway. I will wait for a couple of months more and see user's review on its battery life before making purchase.

I was just saying seeing that MaryOne was not done by dutty. I would try upgrading to it from an Original HTC rom rather than from a Dutty rom.... I did and the manila was still unstable.

Ok Dexter the is what I think of MaryOne. The windows mobile 6.5 is it is allot better than the 6.5 that Dutty is using. But The Manila is not stable at all. Sometimes it would load half way down the screen. Meaning... the top half of the screen would be blank and the bottom half of the screen would only show the top half of the manila. Sometimes the tabs in the manila would load with part behind the lower menu bar And other times it would say there is no manila. Opera has no slide/zoom bar and the task manager is not predictable. It is hidden behind a clock and sometimes you get it and other times you get a windows smart menu. so I�m going back to dutty's leo r5 rom and I�ll wait till dutty makes a rom with the new windows 6.5 maybe he will do a better job of blinding the manila with the new wm6.5.

I am still testing MaryOne it looks good but I don�t know as yet if it is ready for everyday use. I was using Duttys HD WM6.5 Leo R5 before and it was good, I love the new stuff in it like footprint and facebook in the picture album but a bit slow to refresh the new touchflo at times. Dexter was is using Duttys HD WM6.5 R14 Turbo And say everything in it is great. So go with one of them and when I can give feedback about what I think about MaryOne I will.

The full spec for the HTC Touch HD2 are here. And it looks good. But the battery could be better. No more front cam and no more hand writing recognition :( If I didn�t already have this phone I would of bought the HD2, but seeing that is not the case I�ll wait to see if a better one comes out with the front cam and batter battery and maybe even get rid of the keys in the front. The full touch screen in the HD was great I wader why they changed it in the HD2?

Hello there, The Touch HD2 will be released soon, So you ought to wait for that, but if you're interested in a phone with a real good price and a free upgrade to WinMo 6.5, then go for the Diamond 2.. :) If you we were a technical person and want to unlock the phone and install roms (Operating System) every now and then, then both Touch HD and Diamond 2 is worth their prices.. To me i prefer the Touch HD over the diamond 2 for the following: - Huge screen, (Accurate touch, amazing photo/video viewer and awesome ease of navigation) - Better battery life 2-3 days (Diamond 2, 1-2days) - Zooming bar is not necessary since most new apps have them on screen. - 3.5 headphone jack. Diamond 2 has a great video capture.. And the phone size looks like a normal phone which is great too.. Please check out the HD2 every time for the updates of release..

Hay cindy, I supose that You prefer HTC phones. Well, I have both HTC Touch HD and Touch Diamond 2. The firts one have only for bussines purposes (internet, organizer and a little bit of fun). For me it�s just a little to big and to heavy for making a phone calls. On the other side Touch Diamond 2 is for my everyday telepohone calls. Believe me, many calls. But no problem with it. So, when I have to make decision I have carefully watched for what I need a phone. Also, before buying I have read almost all opinions here on Gsmarena for the specific phone. It help me a lot. Hello Anthony, can not find CorePlayer for free (crack) download. Try to ask some people around me. But want to explain whay I ask You about movies on HD. I have downloaded one movies (Leon, The Killer for example) on PC. Works fine in Windows Media Player on it. Than with USB cable placed in HD. But with WMP on HD I have became smaller size of picture on the screen. About 2/3 of full screen. Well than, my question is: Shall I become any movies in full screen on HD if I install CorePlayer 1.3.2 ? Great thanks ! P.S. Earth theme is also great ! Thanks one more time.

You don't even have to put back the original SPL to put back on the original rom from HTC. Remember the other day when I was having the crashing problem, well I put back the rom I got rom HTC without taking off HSPL and it worked just fine and was able to go back to Leo5 right after. The only reason I think you would want to put back the Original SPL is if you are sending back the phone.

Where did you get this theme? i really like it, except for the fact that you don't see one background, it shows several same background when you flick the pages. Another thing, SPB shell 3.5 has a trash bin just like Android in the buttom to delete widgets.. So i hope to see this UI in SPB 3.5.. Let me know where you found this... Thx.. :)

Hello gdnz, :) You don't have to worry about the risks of flashing win 6.5, and i don't know why anyone would want to go back to the old operating system.. All though there is a way to do that, you have to flash the original SPL, and then go to htc.com and download your original rom. :) By the way, 5 days countdown to the world cup qualification match between your country and mine! ;) Good luck to both are countries! :D

This phone is sold with windows mobile 6.1 on it And as most people know, it was not really made to be used without a stylus. So what HTC did was to make an interface/skin to run on top of the windows mobile to make it more finger friendly. The name of the interface/skin on this phone is called touchflo 3D that pic above with the sun it�s all part of touchflo 3D. because touchflo 3D is not the OS itself and just a skin, it can be turned off to see the plane windows interface or upgraded to a newer touchflo with the use of cooked roms or even install a next skin from other companies made to run on windows mobile 6.1 phones Look at these videos on the links to see your possibilities the 2nd link shows of the touchflo 3D that is going to be coming with the HTC Leo running on a HTC HD. And that is how i am running my phone now.

Thanks much Dexter. I spent some time during the weekend looking at the options of Dutty's, Jetware etc plus reading some comments in XDA Developers. All very confusing for the layman. I think I'll take the Winmo 6.5 route first to see if that gets the bluetooth working. I may come back to you for help to load the new Rom etc. One more thing I recall reading a while ago that if you load a cooked Rom you can't go back to original operating system. Is that correct. This is a great phone As for mp3 playback... all windows mobile phones can play mp3, wma and wav by default. So you have no need to worry. What this phone does that only some windows mobile phones do is..... touchflo 3D has a audio player built into it that can read file tags. So you can just copy music from your PC to any ware on the phone or its memory card and the play auto finds and sorts them by their tags not there file name. And you can make/edit play list right from the player. No need to do it from your pc. The head set it comes with is not the best but the good thing is you can use any 3.5mm jack headset with it or even amplified PC speakers if you like. Or if you want Bluetooth stereo, it has A2DP support. So your audio concerns are covered.

There are no full specs of imagio yet, but regarding the size its exactly like Blackberry storm so you can compare HD with Storm in GSMarena and then check the difference with imagio. I think for people like us, we won't bother with that phone, you can say imagio is an HD with HSPL and 6.5 ROMS.. So its for people who don't like to flash cooked roms.. :) Additions: Zooming bar and a little stand bar on the back to watch widescreen features on a desk..

I know about htc leo. It's gonna cost more than $800. I wish I could afford to buy leo. For me...i have option between htc hd & Imagio. Comparing to HD, In my opinion, Imagio got everything better than HD except screen size. So kinda confused what to get.

your didn't like the blue Earth theme? it installs with out the use of TF3 Configurator. just put the file on the phone and run it. as for movies if you want to play almost any video format on this phone you should install coreplayer. here is the link.

Hello to everyone, Special thanks to Anthony who helped me much to find the themes for HD. Also thanks to Dexter who slowly introduce me to start the serching much much possibilities of that phone. OK I�have installed yesterday new theme (RedBlack) and is really really nice. Also have downloaded TF3 Configurator and now in the TouchFlo can change tabs, appareance and other. I supose next thing will be about how to became a downloaded movie for looking in full screen on HD. But about that next week. "Tell me why I don�t like Monday'"

TouchFlo is a Today-Screen plugin, when you install SPB shell, you have to uncheck TouchFlo from the Settings>Today. Although now it happens automatically when you install SPB.. You can use both plugins but not at the same time..

a next thing I fond in the leo r5 for the HTC HD is when you go to the photos and videos tab in touchflo and you pick "albums", then "more" you now have a tab for Facebook. In there you can see all your and friends photos (sorted into there albums and a recently uploaded view as well so you know what is there new pictures) without launching a Facebook app.

no you do not need to unlock the phone to use SBP shell HSPL/UNLOCKING is only done when you are changing the rom on the phone. SBP shell is not a rom its just a program that runs on the windows rom your phone already has.

Dexter, before I said that footprints did not work in Leo r5 for the HD but I was wrong. It works; it just does not put the picture in the footprints tabs automatically. This is how it is done.... You go to the footprints tab in touchflo, and when you click on the �+foot� button the camera starts in �GPS� mode. Take a picture and close the camera. The picture will not be seen in footprints but it will be seen in the Photos and Videos tab. From there you have to click it and make it full screen. Tap on the picture again to bring up the menu, when you hit the icon to the right in that menu you will see �show on Map� for pictures that have Geo tagging and just below that you will see �Set as Footprints� When you pick that you will get a crop window to make your footprints picture. When you are done cropping, the back of the footprint comes up so you can rename, categorizes, address, add phone #, web address, record audio and add note. There is even an area for if you have a picture with no geo tagging to be tagged by the use of ...find on map, manual input, or tag with current location. (Note this section only needs to be used if the picture was not taken with the camera in GPS mode.) When you are finish hit done and you will come back out to the picture. But when you go to the footprints tap you will see your new footprint there 

SPB mobile shell 3.5 is more likely going to stay on my today screen than the previous ones, cause i usually get bored and go back to TouchFlo.. Its faster than the 3.0.1, you have upto to 5 pages in today, and with 3rd app themes you get 7 pages too.. Be careful not to add lots of widgets in the same page, you'll face frame rate issues when you scroll through pages.. Viewing sms is very nice in 3d mode. also G-sensor is cool with the 3D carousal view. You'll need to override the start menu if you're using 6.5 by simply choosing (Override) "yes" in the settings. You might want to give it a try, Today screen is almost Android style.

If you mean you want to change the touchFLo3d theme, then i'm afraid you can't. But if you go to today settings and remove touchflo, you'll get the theme you installed, it's not showing because touchflo3d is covering it..

I tried looking everywhere for your issue, it doesn't happen on the touch HD only, most of the hTC family have this issue in windows 6.1.. But what i came across which you might have already done so, is installing Jetware.. Otherwise change the ROM, then it will definitely work especially with Windows 6.5..

Thanks Anthony yes I know all that (and yes I have the eye when bluetooth visibility is on) as I've previously paired my TyTNII. What happens is I enter a 16 digit pin (supplied by the car) on the phone, the car then says connecting , then initialising, then connection failed. I've had the car checked by the VW dealer, they say no problems. Mechanic paired his rSAP Nokia no probs. From Nov 1 it becomes illegal to use a fone while driving in New Zealand so you can understand I'm keen to get this fixed especially when you pay extra for the car kit. Me thinks a problem with rSAP on fone? Cheers

If it�s not there and you restarted the phone and the pc and it still does not want to connect to active sync You must be connecting the phone to a usb1 port when you should use a usb2 port and will need to turn off �fast data synchronization� To do this.... Pick the settings tab in touchflo Pick wireless controls Pick menu that is on the bottom right Pick usb to pc Uncheck �Enable faster data synchronization� Send the link to the program you are trying to use so I can see if I am having the same problem as you.

most nokia phones don't have a invisable mode for bluetooth this phone does. so try what i said in my post below. if you are having problems finding the bluetooth settings let me know.

Ok the eye next to the Bluetooth icon means your phone is now visible to all Bluetooth devices for peering. If you are doing the peering from the car and not the phone then that eye must be on for the car to see the phone. To turn it on you must go into your Bluetooth settings pick the mode tab and you would see two check boxes. 1.Turn on Bluetooth 2.Make this device visible to other devices The second one should let your car see the phone. Once it is peered you can turn the 2rd one off. Try it and let me know if it worked or not Note 1:- remember with the second one on you should see an eye next to the Bluetooth icon on the phone. Note 2:- visibility mode only needs to be on when the peering is being done from the other device. If the peering is being done from the phone it can stay off.

I assume you mean on top title bar and the answer is "no" I did a google search yesterday and came across a VW forum in Australia, in particular a thread about bluetooth connection issues. One guy has a Touch HD that connects with his Vdub no problem. In my case it's either the car or fone. The VW service people connected their fones (nokia's) to the car but not my HTC. go to and download.NET Compact Framework 3.5 Redistributable. install it on your PC (not the phone) have the phone connect to the PC in ActiveSync mode. when it is finish installing on your PC it should update your phone through ActiveSync. let me know if you where successful in getting it working.

I used R4 its different than R3.. It's better in someways, i'm not sure how R5 is, but based on your opinion, i don't see why the R5 flash.. I think i'll wait for a better version of manila 2.5 cause honestly if i give you my phone for a day, you'll be impressed with all the apps installed you'll see that the phone is astonishingly fast and stable!.. Sms is amazing!! Resco contact manager SMS responds immediately to touchflo's sms when you wanna send from there.. That's how R14 is.. I can say this is officially the fastest phone now with Dutty's R14 and the recommended 3rd party apps!

I never used the r14. I went from leo r4 to leo r5 it still has bugs. so if you have tried leo r3 and switched to r14 the changes from r3 to r5 are not that great for me to say come back to leo.

Hello Nick.. :) I already know about 300% benchmark, but my question was how different is the R4 compared to R5 in graphics.. I must say i disagree with Energy/Miri's Roms.. You are only right that Manila 2.5 is better in Energy/Miri than Dutty, but the Rom isn't better at all.. Dutty's R14 Manila 2.1 is flawless, speaking Manila wise and really impressing with its speed.. Cheers.. :)

Strange cause it always works in windows, if you're using live it should work.. which email are you using hotmail, yahoo, gmail... are you using data connection or wi-fi? Maybe the problem is in your connection settings.. I hope someone figures out your problem..

HI, I can't set up an e-mail on my HTC HD. Whenever I enter the e-mail address and the password it checks connection and comes back saying that it could not be found. Strange because it works no problem on an Iphone and Nokia N97. Any suggestions?

There is some applications that after i installed them and try to run them they give i error that says "The application failed to load required components. If the .NET Compact Framework is installed on a storage card, please ensure that this card is in place and launch the application again. its ok guys, ive figured it out by accident. when youre on the home page you see the time and underneath there is a little white arrow then under that it says call history and under that calender, well if you put your finger onto the white arrow and scroll it downwards then a digital clock in big bold numbers appears! yippee ...yes i know...derrrr. :)

sorry I missed it. when I said new graphics I ment touchflo menu icons changed. much better looking than r4. animation on home screen changed (at least for a rain day) touchflo calendar has more shading which makes it look a bit better. e-mail preview is no longer in an open envelop, now its just on stacked sheets. there is a tweeter tab in touchflo but I don't use tweeter so I don't know if it works. footprints is there too and the camera works in it, but your pics still don't show up in the app so that is useless right now. opera works better but still can't copy and past in gsmarena from it. the problem I was having with the 300+ text was some text would overlap each other and some would show in the 25 preview put not show when you click it. that is still happening. the text is faster but I just can't import all my past text. as for why I did not like miri... the touchflo did not go as deep as dutty's rom did. you would click to do somting and when dutty's rom would take you to a touchflo interface miri rom would take you to the window 6.5 interface. (like how a original hd rom would work) I like how almost every thing in dutty's rom would take you to a touch flow like interface.

Answers to your questions: 1) HTC leo's benchmark is out and they did compare with your touch HD. Every single 3d benchmark is 300% more than that of touch HD. That means Leo's 3d graphics is much superior and flashing its rom on your HD may not be as smooth as in Leo. 2) Problem with 300+ sms still exist. 3) Roms are more of a personal taste. Dutty is popular since his roms are stable, few bugs and all-round good (not the best). But some ppl prefer SPEED over stability and they choose Energy/Miri's Rom�.much faster than Dutty's:)

VW volkswagen. Car and phone find each other on bluetooth, enter code etc but then car can't/won't connect with phone. In the bluetooth settings menu the partnership service is shown as network dailup which doesn't sound right to me. My headset and PC connect by bluetooth ok but not the car??

I using miri rev9.0 for 2 days now. its using new graphics also.With the no HTC Messaging Version, when i want to send grp sms, just tap people/group/tap add new group, u can add how many contacts u want..Rename the Group than u can send group sms or email....don't know dutty r5 had this function or not?

I recently purchased touch hd to replace TyTNII. This is a nice phone and everything works ok except I can't connect with my car (VW) bluetooth hands free. The TyTNII connected OK so what's different with the Touch HD. Can anybody help. Thnx

This is the phone that I want since it came out, and finaly I can afford it. BUT I know that the diamond and pro have problems with the paint pealing off, is this the case with HD. Did you use HSPL or USPL to unlock.. HSPL: You can flash any Original Rom USPL: You have to flash USPL before flashing any Original Rom.. HSPL: It's better, it keeps your phone unlocked to flash any ROM.. USPL: just unlocks it to flash any ROM then you have to flash it again when you want another ROM..

So any of you have high hopes on Diamond 2's upgrade on October? I think when the final build of Windows 6.5 is released for Diamond 2 (Topaz), HD (Blackstone) cookers will come up with a new level of Roms.. :) Keep holding on to your HD's and keep your dreams for a Leo in a box for later.. ok I used miri rom once and did not like it. use dutty rom from the link I gave before. Note: it may not happen to you but it did happen to me, so keep it in mind. when I switched from miri rom to dutty rom my phone was freezing often. and the only way to get back into the phone was to hard reset. this was solved by putting back on an original htc rom and then flashing the phone again with the dutty rom. (dutty roms are good. I only had a major problem when I went to miri rom and came back to dutty rom)

I agree with Anthony, HD Tweaks is more like a shortcut to Enable/Disable features rather than going through Saed's idea of a bit long manual way.. :) Since you're a new windows mobile user, i don't think Saed's way is for beginners.. :)

it is so much less work in the long run when you have to switch GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA off/on alot when you are using a limited plan just to install "HD tweak" and turn it of when you dont need it with one click and back on when you do

The settings I previously posted will only let you go on the internet through a USB connection with a PC connected to the Internet or through WIFI. Since you are using a limited plan from your service provider, then you have to use their settings but maybe you can use point number 3 in my settings.

Omnia HD has Stereo Speakers plus it has great sound quality. Touch HD has Mono speakers and not so much, i don't use song as ringtones, i only use normal phone rings on my touch HD..

I posted earlier about that I prefer HD tweaks, because its faster. I think hTC Leo is another HD, Look how successful the HD still is, Leo will have the same success.. Don't forget that the Diamond 1 and Pro 1 shared the same Specs with the HD.. The Leo have less in common with Diamond 2 and Pro 2, it's more advanced, it will have more credits.. :) But i would still wait for other phones to come out like you said.. I'm not satisfied yet with my HD..

before I said I would buy the Leo as soon as it came out. now I think I will hold off on that. lol don't really like the look of the keys @ the bottom of it. then I remember the first touchflo 3D the diamond and 5 phones later the HD came out which was way better with the same touchflo 3D. so maybe I should not run out and buy the first capacitive touch phone windows mobile gets. wait till 2 or 3 more come out.

I just flashed Dutty's R14, i think Leo's interface (Manila 2.6) doesn't give you quick access to things like the way Manila 2.1 does.. Things i liked about Manila 2.6 - Weather Wallpaper - Photo + Music Rotation in TouchFlo - Calendar Views - Message options - Some new options (Not necessary) But that's all, Now i'm thinking we should wait till the slowness issue in Leo's TouchFlo be sorted out.. Until then, i like how i can quickly access anything with this ROM.. :-)

and remember with HD Tweak it is posable to turn off the wap and still have the mms on. for people like me who want the gprs blocked from programs but still want incoming mms that use gprs.

Tweaks will be faster because you start the "HD Tweak" application and just Enable/Disable GPRS anytime.. :)

If you need to, you can even use HD tweak to tell your wifi not to go to sleep when your screen goes off. I use this when I�m home and logged into msn messenger on my phone.

If you use HD Tweak it works without restarting and you don't have to change any of your setting in any of your programs. It over rides them all when you disable. And your setting still apply when you enable again. And as I said before you don�t even have to restart the phone. I even put an icon for HD Tweak in my leo r4 first tab so I can make the switch even faster. Which one to turn off is different from sim to sim. I know this because I use two sims in this phone with the help of a dual sim card holder and the info under "6. Data (GPPRS/EDGE/HSDPA)" does change depending on which sim I have active. So you will have to do some testing to see what you have to turn off in that section to block the net access. I find the weather tab to be a good way to test if net access is blocked or not.

Just install "HD Tweak" And under the "Data (GPRS/EDGE/HSDPA)" section disable WAP or whatever your sim use to get on the net. Leave MMS on. For me, I had to turn WAP TT off for you it will be another name. And when you need to use the net again just turn it back on. :) There are even more things in there you can tweak that you may like. Our phone company has the same settings. Now I found out how not to make it connect automatically: 1) Go to Settings => Connections => Connections => "Advanced" tab => Select Networks. In network management, change the first and second choices to "My Work network" 2) Now go to Connections => wifi=> WIRELES NETWORKS => "Network adapters tab" choose my network connects to : "The internet" 3) Settings => connection setup ,In menu, make sure to remove the tick mark in "Enable Auto Configuration". f you keep the tick mark, later, it will change your setup again to connect to Internet using GPRS.

anyone else out there with the htc touch hd that finds it connects onto the internet on its own. ive spoken to orange and they went through all my settings with me so everything is set to 'manual' . they said that it will periodically log on for updates but im finding that yes it logs on itself but stays logged on for a few hours at a time, not just a few seconds/minutes that they say. hmmm i dont want that to happen as its eating into my monthly internet allowance. hope someone can help

thanks but I knew that. its just not working in leo r4 I would select text on this site (if I'm replying to a long post) but when I past it in my post it would come in gray, not black, and when I de-select it would just disappear. its the same thing if I try to copy and past a web address into msn messenger. its odd I can can copy and past from opera into ms word but I can't copy and past from ms word into this new opera. if you are using leo4 try it and let me know if you are having the same problem?

For selecting text in Opera, you need to activate the text select option in the popup menu (click and hold for a couple of seconds). You need to deactivate this again in order to scroll.

yes a new unlocked phone comes with .net 3.0 and it can be used in drive mode. but some programs will not work or install unless .net 3.5 is installed on the phone. and you can't get .net 3.5 as a .cab file.

I thought you meant Diamond 2.. Go for the Touch HD, you can use a cooked hTC Leo Rom on it..:) Everything you need are here: Unlock HSPL then Choose Roms. Save the pages (favourites)

So if i connect a stock hTC touch HD to a PC, i can't use it as a hard drive unless i install NETframe 3.5? All i know is you should have NETframe 3.5 to use Active Sync.. But i can use my HD as Hard drive and install cabs, or better yet i can take my friends Tilt (TytnII) to install any cabs on it too with out NETframe 3.5.. You mean facebook needs it?

Diamond 1 or 2? If 2, it will be cheaper and will have a free win6.5 upgrade in October.. I'd go for that, but good luck with the battery, if you're a person who charge his phones battery in a daily basis i'd say go for it.. If you get the HD, you'll need to unlock it and flash cooked Roms (Operatin system) to perform like or even better than the Diamond 2..

in my opinion the HD may be old but it is the best HTC there is right now. the HTC Leo is going to be better but it is not selling as yet.

I have been offered this handset by orange as a replacement to the nokia 5800. The problem is it is an older handset and I can't find one to try, once I accept the HTC I can't change it, any advice or should I push for a newer model if possible. No that not what I�m saying. All/most new programs you install need .net 3.5 to be installed on the phone for them to work or even install. this phone comes with .net3.0 You don�t have problems with installing programs because dutty roms come with �.net 3.5� built in to it. When liz installs �.net 3.5� the programs will install right from the phone as you said. But �.net 3.5� is an .exe file that needs to be run on your PC and sync to the phone.
