You can re-set ur mobile.. remove ur battery for 5 hour.. and put back.. it will reset..[like new mobile] u will loose the data wich is there in ur mobile but not from memory card. and u will loose the software u installed new....

I have pda2k i-mate its a wonderful pc i-mate. since few days I get notification chart on my screen shows volume control and choice for sound vibration, with sound I try to remove it by closing it by pressing the button above the stop button it goes away and come back again I am mad after it. Information on MS Windows Mobile site, (sorry I cannot remember url), says that upgrades are not possible unless manufacturer of phone has supported it and provided appropriate upgrade. It is very expensive and difficult for them to do that and i-mate have not done this. I get the impression that some have managed to hack things so that their smartphones will accept a generic upgrade, but these have not been very successful and the phones have not worked so well.

That is a port for optional external antenna. A GSM antenna for the places with weak signal(i.e underground,...) but it was a nonsensical idea for a mobile device.

themes no need to install.just copy it to your phone.OPEN: file explorer> my device> select window and open it then just paste the theme there.. your can change your theme in two way.Go to Settings > today >select the theme then OK. another way is install another software ( Pocket plus) your can download it for free at search for pocket plus is it helpful,please comment. Its an amazine phone. Have had it for 2.5 years now, and cant do without it. the phones body is all battered and bruised now, with wear and tear. I can't find another phone to replace it, as nothing else has such a huge touch screen. I did away with the stylus ages ago and just use my fingers on the screen. never used a screen protector or carried the phone in a case ( always in my hand or pocket), and the screen only has a tiny scratch. Some of the downsides are: Buttons may stop working, but you can still work most things through the screen. Also it sometimes hangs or restarts, and u may loose some data. i wonder if one can upgrade the software to windowsmobile6. If u find another phone with a similar sized screen, pls lemme know.

I am happy with my I-mate Pda2k I'm internet guy love to surf the net, recently I tried to use my phone as modem and it gives me a maximum speed of 115kbps in 3G HSDPA invironment . Its faster than a normal dial connection but I cant maximize my network 3G speed. Can ANYONE SUGGEST HOW CAN I UPGRADE OR TWEAK this baby to enhance the MODEM speed. Thanks all!!!

Please Help, im in a lot of trouble with the I-Mate PDA2K. I got my I-Mate PDA2K as a gift from my uncle,who bought it from Abu Dhabi. for the first 2months it was working fine. Now all of a sudden there seems to be a lot of problem. it resets itself suddenly when i try to answer any incomming call. all the setup right from the initial screen alignment will take place and lot of setup screens come before i can start using it again. after a few calls it resets again and the whole procedure repeats again. This is causing a lot of inconvenience as the frequency of resetting is very very unpredictable. I tried to reset it sometimes myself so that it would stor resetting itself, but that dosnt help.please help if someone had similar problem. and i dont have the OS drivers or other driver software CD's with me. but have the USB cradle with me which i am using just for charging the device at office.

hey wassim you hav read the wrong thing. pls check that you will hav a drop down button in the memory card tab... settings>> memory>> storage card.. now here select "storage card" and not "storage"... this PDA comes with an internal memcard of 43.5 MB!!!!! thats really gr8 128+43.5

I've been using iMate-PDA2K for almost a year and I am quites satisfied thought it has a huge size. During my use, I had just a single problem. Some times after receiving call the OK (close) button in the top right of the screen is not displayed. The Phone application keeps running and I even can not use the phone. hey imate pda2k is a ok sorta mobile... the functionalities are ok.. but lotsa problems with it... especiall when the battery level goes below a certain %.. u wont be able t pik calls.. hangs pretty freq.... and i am not able to switch on th speaker fone while on a call.. any1 knows how to do that?

Hi Dhalamini, I also own a PDA2k. Regarding your problem with the screen, I believe you just have to calibrate again the touchsreen. Go to Setting >> System >> Align Screen, then follow the instructions.. hope this works :P

hey abbas, u need to have an advance gprs where u can surf the web from ur pc! only then u can listen to any radio or video stations.on the contrary try pocket streamer for ppc thts a good software has loads of t.v. and radio stations.

hey! u can extend ur battery by 1> switching off ur infrared : recieve incoming beam , 2> deactivate ur gprs signal, activate only when needed. 3> stop running programs in background.4> put ur network mode in manual, so tht it doesnt keeps on searching for stringer siganls when u r in weak site.

I have been in the telecoms industry now for 14 years and have used many mobile phones during this time. I have been using a PDA2k now for a year and I must admit that this is worst phone that I have ever had. It is my second one in a year my service provider gave me replacement when my first PDA2K gave me problems. The replacement phone is giving me the exact same problems as the first one and when I took it into the agent they opening admit to me that this is a problematic phone and they can do nothing about this. My service provider keeps referring me to the phone agent and the phone agent cannot do anything for me. I have spoken to several people who have the PDA2k and they tell me that they aso experience problems with their handsets as well. Compounding all of this is the fact that I raised this problem with the phone manufacturer exhibiting at a GSM conference in South Africa recently and they were unable to assist I find this situation ridiculous as I paid a lot of money for a very problematic phone and am now stuck with a phone that gives me problems. Let the buyer beware!!!!!!!

may be you forget to activate the bluetooth :) you can activate the blue tooth by choosing the bluetooth icon in the lower right corner of today screen,then check the 2 check boxes;turn on bluetooth & make this device dicoverable.

ANSWERS to Queries::: 1.You can find the memory option in start/settings/system/memory 2.I am using both MMC and SD card and both of them are working fine with my PDA 3. You can download activesync for free from microsoft website. this is the only application you require to get it connected with your PC via bluetooth

The phone has lots of problems. and different sets may have different problems its always because of Microsoft Windows. Where there is MICROSOFT WINDOWS there must be some crashes and lots of bugs. Overall .. the features are good but relibility and accuracy is pathetic. Symbian is far more stable o/s than microsoft windows.

This is a great PDA - not having any problems but you really have to make sure you back up either to SD card or to your computer as the system seems to crash quite a lot. Does anyone have a problem with the phone only ringing 2 or 3 times before it goes to voice mail. Can't seem to change the length of the incoming ring which is annoying as you then pay for voice mail constantly.

I dropped my i-mate pda2 in the water I managed it to dry of and cleaned and it did work after 2 days but the only problem is the button function is jamed. Whenever I try to use the phone the contact screen comes up with a little touch contact screen shows. I dont know what to do is it a software problem. IF YOU REALLY WANT A SMARTPHONE, DO NOT BUY AN iMATE PDA2K!!!! This smartphone has very nice features that work well but it has basic software & other unknown problems that will drive you crazy. I purchased one in September 2005 and have barely used it other than to check out the features. It worked fine at first but now it will not work at all. The unit will not turn on even after it has been charged and hard reset. I took it to Axiom Telecom repair center in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and they told me that I downloaded some software that has corrupted the unit??? It was obvious that they did not know what they were talking about. The only software I downloaded was the upgrade from the iMate web site and now I cannnot even power up the unit. The cradle is fully operational but the unit will not charge. When the unit did work, the battery life was very poor so I had to keep it in the cradle often. If you want a Pocket PC, purchase another brand that is more reliable. I am going to sell my PDA2K at a hugh loss once I get it working. I purchased a Palm One Palm TX and it is fantastic. The only thing the TX does not have is a phone but I have decided that I do not want my PDA and phone together.

i got a pre owned pda2k and its still running well, the battery life last for a whole day so dont forget to charge it before yah sleep, as for the features they are jam packed, the phone also is satisfactory...sound is ok...no mic problems, so stop your yacking and get one =)

Well, when I first looked at this phone it looked like it has all t6he features and despite the size I went out and bought one. What a disappointment!!! I am so disappointed to have spent money on this phone. It has all the features and as long as you you use just as PDA it is fine, you go using the phone features and it is lousy. it crashes all the time especially when you receive a call, i have upgraded it few times but still not reliable and the battery life is very short especially if you use bluetooth. One advise, DON'T BUY THIS PHONE

I am using PDA2K for couple of months. It is a great phone. But, I am not too sure as to how long it will work well. Within couple of weeks after getting the piece, I had to send it for service as it stopped functioning. After servicing, fortunately, it rings. But all the other sounds have gone. Otherwise, it is a great phone.

I had the same question about the RINGTONES. I ended up using the Microsoft Sound Recorder to create my own ringtones because there is nothing available for this PDA. I just palyed my music on ITunes and recorded and transformed into a .wav file. Then put on my device and set as a ringtone. Even better because I have the real song playing when someone calls.

Batt life bad. have 2 batt now at all times. ph poor. Frequently tells me cannot answer call which means I have to call the person back $$. I press answer and the ph will not answer.... Bluetooth headset will not wk properly either. Gave up on that. As a Pocket PC its gr8. Can have broadband at all times which is very handy. Had a prob with receiving sms msgs. Had 380 unreqa msgs in the inbox. All THE SAME!!! this occured twice. Thedealer said I had to reset handet to get rid of the problem which it did, however I dont have time to keep resetting...... This handset cost $1500 Australian dollars. The camera is quite ordinary, not gr8 clarity. Video too dark and too far away. I need a seperate ph handset ideally as this one is just irritating. This was my dream to hold the world in my palm and I got i-mate PDA2K. Its really good but the battery is the great problem I am facing, its just not the same written in the specification, it really does have a poor response and we need to charge it for long hours almost everyday. The service centers also gives poor response to the customer in Saudi Arabia (Axiom). Really need some solution to this problem. But on the whole this is really great and you feel like you are connected to the whole world round the clock.

I've had it for nearly less than a year, the phone works like dream in the few months, but then come the problems, you have to go take f for repairs MONTHLY, the backup battery is useless, it always formats whenever it pleases, VERY BAD sound quality, and sometimes you have to restart the entire thing so you can actually hear the caller...

Will it support Windows Mobile 2003? It runs Windows Mobile 2003 2nd Edition How is the internet access, easy or not? Very easy to wind up paying your service provider connection charges, yes. Wireless access is less intuitive, but possible. Internet Explorer mobile version loses page format frequently - so (e.g. mapping pages show bits of maps all over the place). The length of the wireless, is it good? Comparable to my Centrino. Can play DVD-PPC movie on it? I recommend encoding AAC with Nero, then playback on the PDA with Betaplayer with AAC plugin. Window media player hardly plays anythign at all, and doesn't support plug-ins / codecs.

I forgot to mention dials up a charged connection at every opportunity - seemingly no way to stop it doing this, great idea for the phone company! O2 are slow on tech support (no reply at all yet). And don't expect windows media player or internet explorer to do anything more than view the simplest websites and play simple wmv / mp3s. Forget any idea of other codecs.

Great features, shame the implementation is hopeless, the device freezes every few minutes, the phone fidelity is intolerable, and the bluetooth implementation is next to useless, so you can't even improve it with a bluetooth headset. Windows mobile hype is far fro the true functionality too.

Well, looks like a great machine. After 3 weeks of looking at every option to replace my Palm Tungsten C I have decided to go with this..just deciding now whther to go with GSM or whether to go with PDA 2K EVDO (the CDMA model) CDMA has much faster data transfer and better coverage in rural areas so I think thats the go. Should be ordered in next week- I can't wait!!

great all in one device; but missing some options that would make it a better phone (i.e. voice activated dialing; adding a newly received number to an already existing name in one's address book) but i guess you can not have it all or else you would need to get a great phone and a powerful PDA. Keep in mind that the sliding keyboard starts getting a bit loose and slides off from its position after 2-3 months of use. The biggest problem that i have came from customer service and support in the Middle East; they are all based in Dubai and do not have the faintest idea how to keep their clients happy (i am comparing to the great service and support that i had from Palm when i had a problem with my old Palm Vx) and so i opted to throwing away the old imate "2020" and getting the PDA2k for lack of better alternatives. God forbid i have another problem with this one, i don't think that i will even entertain the idea to call support, but will rather take the easy way out and get anothe device.

My phone was the Orange branded SPV M2000. It was recalled due to a speaker problem. I waited 7 weeks to get it back. The phone has some great functions including easy access to Word, it syncs with Outlook beautifully but its internet download speed is slow compared to my SonyEricsson P910 and phone often freezes, which means taking the battery off to kick-start the phone. It rather large too. I would have gone for the I-Mate Jam had its UK launch not been so heavily delayed. Maybe my next phone in 8 months time.

I have owned a PDA2K for two weeks now and have noticed, while it is a execellent unit, that the keyboard has become excessively loose. The bluetooth functionality/connectivity is also less then that of my previous phone, Siemens S55. Overall, good unit apart from some minor flaws.

The PDA's will take an SD storage card and yes size does matter ;) lol however it is dependant on the model with this one i would assume at least 1gb sd card it will accept but just confirm with the manufacturer. only take a quick call. you dont want to be spending hundreds of dollars on something that doesnt work with your phone / PDA

Does anyone know if it is accessible to the UK market yet and what the general RRP is? I would certainly find this useful in my job as a mobile salesman.
