Its a COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.Phone keeps hanging up for no good reason.Can't even download new apps..Keeps showing "insufficient storage" even when there's nothing to delete.I just strongly suggest people not even to think of buying it.

Hey,A89 is better...My cousin bought it and its just great!It has 4inch screen,but a80 has 3 inch and also the processor,it has 1Ghz but a80 has 832 something... I would make a big mistake if you bought a80 instead of a89!

I am also using MMX A80 from last 6 months and have been facing issues like Lag and unresponsiveness due to its low RAM of only 200 MB which is very less for an Android phone as you hardly get 30 MB of RAM to play with applications... MMX Has cheated Users here.. they promised at least 256 and give 200 MB..Had the extra 56 MB there... this phone would have been at least good for a normal users but alas... now it sucks and lags like anything...

Is the RAM originally 256 MB on this?? I installed many apps to see the RAM and it shows only 200 MB.. big disappointment as due to low RAM it becomes very slow and hangs repetitively

its a very nice phone with lot of features....I m using it for past five mnths...supports many games...performance is very good...u can make skype video calls...internet speed is much appreciated....dual sim...only gsm...long battery life...abt three days long...supports many apps....I have currently fifty apps installed still no lagging....only the flaws is tht till now I have nt been able to root this phone...apart frm tht gud camera quality...good signal...high speed for 3g network...aisha app...video calling...etc..etc... u shuld go for it...but if u want more then go for tab instead...this phone is great deal at this price range...

A80 Internal memory is very bad --only 200MB...There are lot of problems to download apps. But camera is very good.big screen.Reasonable price......but now we should go for MICROMAX A110 CANVAS 2 .....Excellent features...under 10,000 price................

Screen works better than other micromax phones but RAM is so naughty. half of 256 is already in use by apps and you can't control them. Forget gaming, if you install & configure 10+different apps on ur phone, ur ram will suck it off. BAD RAM :(

Hi, first you need to check if your internet is working fine. if you're using internet on cellular data, make sure you have stable connection. try to connect through wifi & then enter your gmail username & password. issue will be resolved.

I have started using this phone 3 weeks ago, this is my android phone... As mentioned correctly, this phone lacks internal memory...Every now & then you keep getting notification "your phone storage is getting low"...it becomes difficult to delete most of the apps...there are some apps which only works when stored in phone & not on SD card...talking about the battery, its ok but it does not last's that long but i have downloaded an app called "battery saver", it works wonder for the phone...phone lags at some points, Customer service from micromax is awful, i had email conversation with them & also had bitter experience...when you press home button (in center), it takes good 20 secs to bring up the home screen...for beginner, who just wants to understand how does android phone works, good for them...but when it comes to multi tasking, it fails...

Did you try VLC media player? And any one using tou h screen phone please avoid lock and inlock switch that's on the phone as replacing it will be cosltier. Download Lock app to lock screen and to unlock use swipe or draw or pin. If cam is not good, download Ucam app or Angel cam, all pics taken will be good.

Hi Guys, My first review/hands on experience. I recently bought(2 weeks back) Micromax A80 @ Rs.7399/-, courtesy an offer of Rs. 600 by Tradus 2 weeks back. Delivered promptly. To begin with, the looks are great!! Many felt that this is a very costly mobile. The prime reason behind this purchase is the mammoth battery it hosts and the factor that android consumes a lot of power. As I am a frequent traveller(by train), I needed a mobile whose battery lasts overnight inspite of heavy usage and low/no signals. This mobile easily exceeds this expectation. On the flip side, anyone who holds this mobile gives a sigh as this is heavy!! But then its a trade off I made for the powerful battery. I exhaused 50% of battery after 6 hours of continuous usage that included low signals, gaming, occasion browsing through 3g and 2g and also some navigation/maps. Samsung Galaxy Y was an alternative but then I preferred this due to 3.75inches screen and few good features over galaxy Y. My friend who recently bought a galaxy Y duos was stunned at this piece and the price at which it came. No wonder we feel great! But then Samsung is a reputed 'brand' and service far far better than Micromax as per google research. Hope I don't get a chance to visit a micromax service center, because of the rave reviews I have seen. The screen lock/unlock button is on top just besides the charging port, which makes it not easy to lock/unlock! Wish it could have been sideways. Capacative touch is amazing!! Way better than galaxy Y as judged by my colleague, who has a galaxy Y. Sideviews are not so great. But then the screen resolution looks apt! Display looks good under sunlight! Installed elixir app. It shows total internal memory as just 418MB (Data folder has 164MB, system folder has 254MB). Data folder is used to store our apps. Some amount of memory will be used for internal memory, even while the other will be writted to an external SD card. We can load quite a few apps but surely not too many. Elixir shows RAM as a total of 200MB. Very less. Wish it could have been 512. My memory usage hovers around 80%. So in order to play a powerful game, android may kill other processes. I didn't observe any lags while paying games like angry birds, contract killer(very resource intensive), IPL fever, raging Thunder, Speed Moto, etc. Enjoyed the games on this mobile. I would have been very happy had the RAM being 512 as the specs suggested. Bit disappointed. Not sure if this can bee rooted!! If we can, we can freesome more memory. Skype video calls are not supported as yet. Very very disappointed. Don't know if it is due to Android 2.3.4 or lack of skype support for this mobile thus far. Also don't think this mobile will have any upgrade. We have to stick with 2.3.4 only. The sound quality on the headphones is good for me. Adjust the bassboost, Vitualizer, Equalizer to hear a decent sound. Might not be the best but it's good enough for me. FM radio is there and works good. Wifi is very fast, 3g is good and gprs is okay. The camera quality looks good but the pictures aren't perfect. May be due to lack of autofocus. Front cam is an added value had skype supported video calls. Phone call audio volume is not too high. Its just sufficient enough. Calls on headset is good though. GPS is great!! With just 3g, Google maps showed my navigation(travel) all along with super accuracy. Overall, I am happy with this piece so far. Please note that this is my first android mobile and hence I might be impressed easily. This is my feedback based on my experience and intuition. You may use your discretion before buying this mobile based on your preferences. PS: Micromax A84 is just release that sports almost 4 inches and is TFT capacative screen(18M colors) and 1Ghz process but with a price of nearly Rs.9999. You may consider that as well before taking a decision. Again the RAM is nowhere mentioned by the vendor. Regards, LV
