She needs a candy bar style phone and this and one other which I purchased are the only ones available and compatible with her Dynavox Vmax speech machine. The other one I purchased was originally a TMobile but unlocked. It will not let her receive pictures with AT&T, plus it doesn't have a speaker phone setting. ARGH! This the third phone so far that we've tried. Anyone out there willing to find and donate their phone for my mother. I want to be sure she can receive pictures on this phone when others text them to her and that it has speaker phone capability. Her mind is very clear, but without her speech machine she is unable to communicate. Please help!

  • not compatible with Apple computers, one can not use it as a modem.

  • i bought moto l2 last week , i've encounter my first problem this week with a stocked keypads, #4 and #7... it's very hard to push

  • I've had this phone for a year and a half. At first, it was a great phone, yet now i am completely dissatisfied from it. It tends to go to a black screen after each call i make, locking up the whole phone for an hour or so. The reception is terrible. I can't receive calls from my own home! Bluetooth capabilities are okay, except for that when i open it it keeps open for exactly 60 seconds then closes(I don't know why they made this feature in the mobile, but it is nagging me like hell!). Overall, it is a lower than average phone.

  • We have two of these phones and they work well but are not user friendly. It takes too many keystrokes to do simple functions and its use is not intuitive, The shortcys help though.

  • I've had this phone for over a year and a half now and in the last 3 months it has constantly locked up. It was a great phone but now I do not like it because I never know when it will suddenly go to a black screen and drop my call.

  • the l2 is an amazingly srirdy phone! even though its so thin ive dropped it so many times it just gets a few scratches but nothing internall damaged. problems are it doesent have camera and its disign of the menu and stuff int all good but depends wat our looking for.

  • can anybody help me. I cant download any attachments sent with messages. it just says error unable to download. the manual doesnt appear to help.

  • your motor is beautiful

  • I have had this phone for over half a year now. In my opinon it is a pretty good phone, althogh every once and a while it will lock up on me, ane the screen will go black for about 10 seconds, but i think that is due to the fact that it has been droped several times. Sometimes it is anoying trying to get it to conect to other phones via bluetooth but seeing as this is my first phone I dont have much experiance in that area. Overall I would give this phone good marks, i haven't had any problems with the sound, It would be better if it had a camara though. I use mine as a GoPhone and for that id say its more than enough. (wow.. sorry.. but i find it funny when people post comments on the internet like they are texting their friends)

  • Can anyone tell me what is this option for: Menu > Settings > Network > Network Setup > Speed? Under speed there are four values: Slow, Medium, Fast, Continuous. What is this option for? User guide downloaded from Motorolas web site says nothing. Thanks

  • I've been using this phone for over a year, and love it. It has a long battery life, excellent reception (even in elevators and buildings), and is extremely light and thin. Plus, I got it for free.

  • i m using this phone from last 2 months but i m not satisfied. all the new buyers i m suggesting you not to get this phone as this is a wastage of money as well as time. the ear sound quality is so bad that a person cant be able to send his/her voice clearly. & about ear phone i cn't tell you that how worst it is please i request you not to buy this worst among all worst gaget.

  • Have had this phone for 6 months now. The voice transmission quality is really bad and most people I call cannot hear me. Thought it was an intrument issue and got the piece replaced by this seems to be a general problem with the model. I have since heard that many users have a bad experience with this phone. Do not get this phone.

  • mr. gurvinder singh ......you got to reduce the image size to 128 x 98 to view the video on your l2 mobile phone.

  • i m using this phone for last 2 months its a good phone but the only problem that i m facing wid dis phone is that i can not play videos.............

  • Only reason i bought this phone is because i wanted the sony mp3 player phone but fido didnt have it at the time and i needed a phone so they said i can get this one and return it within 15 days when they had the sony one in stock. I never had time to return it so i got it for good now. I actually grew to like it but one feature i got pissed without was no camera. I find the voice quality is good compared to my moms razr. actually way better. she hates her razr after trying mine. The vibrate function i find depending on what im doing i can sometimes feel it and somtimes not. Another thing i do like is that you can compose your own songs on it. you can go to sites to learn to do this. i got the simpsons theme song on mine. but i do not like the selection of ringtones. i think the razr has a better one. Even my motorola v360 had better ones. and i miss the "Hello moto" ringtone.

  • i am using this mobile for past 2 months. it can stores up to 8 MP3 songs of full lenght. you have to compress the song. very good screen. using bluetooth i can able to connect internet to computer.

  • i hav been using dis fone since almost a year n now started having problems.. if i call some1 or receive a call n either party picks up the calls quickly say within 1-2 rings the other party gets a very annoying disturance.. first i thot it was my sim card n may be bcuz of network issued, but den i chgd sim n tried same issue.. figured out tht it was a speaker issue which caused it.. also i had a prob with regards to life of battery, after 30 mins its showed chrgd full but thn batt used to go dowm within 1hr even if i dont spk

  • i want to access gprs on computer with L2 can i do with L2 ?

  • oh plz tell me if u cam attach headphones on this phone?

  • A great basic phone. Good build quality, great RF reception, call clarity and volume. Just what I was looking for in a phone to use on the weekends when I want to get away from the BlackBerry. 100% satisfied with L2.

  • I bought one off of ebay, the box says tri-band, but the phone menu offers all 4. Was I suckered?

  • if you interested in well priced phone without camera (due to workstation restriction) then just go for it. the drawbacks i could find are (1) doesn't have FM. (2) feels a bit large in hands though its quite slim. The good points are (1) supports mp3 ringtones which is quite desirable. (2) supports picture ID's of caller. (3) decent size screen 128x160 which is quite suffecient. (4) stores call duration of not only last call but last 20 calls.-v.v. nice thing; you don't find in other phones easily. (5) nice look of the keypads especially when they are illuminated. OVERALL-- A GOOD PURCHASE. AJAY BANSAL, INDIA

  • can any body tell me do ths fone have fm radio

  • yes, it has upto 5 different timing for alarams. It is a nice model

  • The phone is a tri band..some silly people say even after the above specifications say clearly the bands

  • If you feel, as I do, that we ask enough of our cellphones just to be phones this is the one for you. Excellent all around performance, outstanding battery life, and ideal form factor make this the very best of the more than a dozen phones I've owned over the last five years.

  • Does it have an alarm clock?

  • you can load mp3's and images and video(128x96) in this phone by blue tooth or connecting by computer for this you have to install motorola phone tools in your system and the software doesn't recognize it easily so you you have to go manual installation of phone and choose the phone from the list either as e398 or v3 etc. as you like and then you can copy your favourite mp3's and images to yhis phone ok bye

  • RE: does anyone know if this is a triband phone or dual? It's not dual- or tri-band, it's a quad-band world phone! Which is the reason I just ordered it today.

  • Hello, I got the L2 at New years, I had the sony ericsson z520a from Fido (Canada) for 6 months and had no troubles, the cameras was bad though, so I gave it to my bro. Loved the L2 slim design and no extra gadgets. But returned it after two weeks. Why? Because phone became hot after only speaking for 20 minutes. The battery life is very short, had to turn off wallpaper, brightness to minimum, and still had to charge it almost every day(very annoying). Also the sturdy looking metal casing, loved it, but during the Canadian winter, when asnwering the phone out of my purse the phone would be freezing against my face. Otherwise seemed great. But I am going to try the Moto v235 instead.

  • I have this phone, the cable and the software motorola phone tools but i don't now how can i put skins or themes on it. In the phone i have only 3 folders: Image, Sound and Videos (but i don't see any folder for Skins or Themes) If somebody now how to put Skins or Themes on this phone pls tell me here on in my mail. Thanks!

  • If i put my cell bhritness at maximum it short the life of my screen????????

  • To glenn: Yesterday I got myself a Bluetooth USB Adapter and with it I could connect my L2 with my PC for files transfering, DAMN HAPPY!!! I been wanting to do this since forever and now I finally could and you can too! To moshin: Next to the recieved call there is a check mark, without this check mark, it's a miss call! If only they could show the number of times a call is missed/recieved together with the timestamps specifically, it'd been great...

  • I wanted to own this phone so badly I came to this page almost everyday to read about it and its comments. I finally bought it last Sunday and now I still come on here to read about it. Just wanna say this phone is great! One thing though, the vibration is a little bit "soft", is it like this for everyone elses?

  • Phone is excellent! Battery life... Amazing! Calls... Ultra clear, Speakers are loud and phone feels great. I like it better than the L7 for sure. Phone is affordable usually around 80-100 through ebay and is great investment! Sticking with this for a long time!

  • this phone is really i love the way it shaped love it all..

  • i dont now your opinion for L2 but i want to swich my phone motorola v235 for L2 because she looks so nice and i dont need to talk a lot just a minut if she keep me im happy and i think that is enough.i dont have nothing to say about my v235 was good but im a person ho likes to swich everything veri quick.

  • I have to agree with Apu and his coverage issues. I can't get a good signal unless I'm sitting on top of the cell tower. I have two other phones in the house and they both get full signals so it's not the location. I see comments about the vibrate and I have to agree that unless you have the phone squashed up against your privates you won't know it's vibrating at all. You can't set up your own ring styles (you can only amend the pre programed ones). And if you save your numbers to the phones mem (the only way to use the phones advanced phone number features) there is no way to do a mass copy to your sim. I don't know if it was just my phone but when I tried to copy the numbers over the soft keys developed a mind of their own which made teh whole process that much harder. The one good thing about the phone is its look. Moto are on to a good thing here - shame about everything else.

  • the telephone's price is in Romania 82.5 EURO.It is a good phone,i wanted to buy it but when i read in his manual that the SAR value on ear testing is 1.33W/KG i change my mind...i a big value for a phone ...

  • You can buy this phone for 25 (ex.VAT) with airtime. I saw it advertised yesterday. Sounds like a fair and good price.

  • what games come with it?

  • I like this phone. Only one problem (though it might be a deal-breaker): there is static when I move around. I'm not talking about EM interference or digital distortion. This sounds like the person on the other end is breathing too hard into the microphone. It stops whenever I stop moving. Really irritating. The person on the other end can hear it, too. A crinkling-paper sound. Or a wind sound. Annoying! Anyone else having this problem?

  • I've had this phone a little over a month. Cingular is sending me a replacement L2 phone because the one I have sucks. The phone cannot make up its mind as to which tower to stay connected to and during any calls it drops 3 bars regardless leaving you with a very broken conversation or better yet dropping the call or not even allowing you to hang up because the connection becomes so bad. I am trying to work with Cingular to resolve the issue, but at the moment we are considering switching to Verizon. I have four of these things and they all work the same way. Poor choice by cingular. Its no wonder the phone is free.

  • I just got the phone today. this is in reference to danny. in the book, on page 34, it states that the keypad backlight is light dependant. if you are in a well lit area, the keypad backlight does not come on. but when you are in the dark, or a low lit place, when you press a button, the keypad backlight will illuminate.

  • this is by far the worst phone i've ever used... i used it for about a month and reactivated my previous phone. i upgraded to this phone mainly because i was eligible for an upgrade, but also because the vibrate function on my older phone no longer worked. the vibrate function on this phone is useless; unless the phone is smashed against you, you'll never feel it. the buttons are not very well designed so text messaging is a chore. you also have to change the volume by cycling in ascending order. speaker phone is not much louder than the normal handset. there's no option to silence an incoming call when the phone is set to a mode with an audible ring; so essentially, any time you can't answer a call in this mode, you have to let the phone continue to ring, or kick the incoming call to voicemail, essentially letting the person on the other end know that you are ignoring their call...

  • there is a bit of problem in mine i got it a month back and have realised the mobile goes into silent on its own all the settings are for loud. changig the volume does not help. every time i need to switch it off and switch on again to correct this

  • Wats the damn use of bluetooth and mp3 and video playback when therez no slot for extendable memory...!!!!!! how much can u store in a 10 mb SHARED memory..!!!!!

  • I can't figure out how to delete the damn text messages..I can send and receive them just fine, but can't find anywhere in the manual where it tells how to delete them. HELP!

  • This is the only phone with below RS 5000/- (indian rupees) comes with Bluetooth. Defnitly good choice when you are look good basic phone with good looks.

  • its so nice, so silm n good, function are good,

  • My company just sent me a new L2 to replace my dying Nokia - this L2 is TERRIBLE! I hate it! The interface is SO complicated with so many non-intuitive steps. Too many control buttons that aren't necessary. UGH! Terrible!

  • its hot

  • this is the best phone i ever seen.it is very very slim.looks the best.people who need a basic phone with good features can go for this model.

  • I was wondering if anyone else is having problems when send a text message. Mine freezes up and I have to take the battery out to 'reboot' it. I hate this phone at least cingular gave it to me for free. I am very disappointed

  • This is one of the worst phone I ever have seen. The battery does not charge, the phone dies while I am talking and can not turn it on. There is always a static sound on the phone and people at the Cingular are not interested to offer any help they just want to sell!!! shame

  • The design is nice, although it looks alot bigger than the advertisements. I love the feature where one can switch from ring to vibrate (press and hold # key). No camera, well that's okay... but then again, I can't capture those special moments when my kids are kids! It's about time a phone that can be used to meet it's purpose (make calls)has hit the market again - what a relief! It is conservative yet very nice looking at the same time. I read somewhere that the keypad lights up when phone is in dark areas... Not happening to me. Should I activate something on the phone? I would like to see that happen! Overall I am happy with it and will most likely not change it.

  • Has anyone of you try to use your L2 beside a PC speaker? It creates very bad statics from mine. It is much worse than other phones, such as L7 or RAZR. It has a SAR rate of 1.54. Do you think it is the problem?

  • If this phone is switched off, callers can't leave a message? Anyone know how to change this or must it be switched on at all times (my previous phone allowed messages even when switched off)?

  • I just got my new pink Motorola L2 phone yesterday. While I'm still adjusting and getting used to it, I figured out why I was having a huge problem trying to store multiple names under the same name. Like some people, I used my SIM card from my old phone on the L2 so I didn't have to re-enter all of my phone numbers. However, the various numbers from the SIM card for the same person show up as two duplicte individual entries(i.e. house and cell for Jane Doe will show up as Jane Doe twice with house and cell listed separately and you can't tell which one is which until you actually open up entry). So, I decided to test the difference if I stored the same house and cell for Jane Doe on the PHONE memory. Well, it turns out that when you store multiple numbers on the PHONE memory under the same name, there is a little icon (home and mobile, respectively) that is displayed next to each entry to help you tell the difference which number is stored where. So, storing your numbers in PHONE memory is definitely better for organizing your numbers on the L2, but horrible for when you get a new/different phone and have to re-enter the numbers. Despite this setback, I still like my new phone!

  • Very slim phone Just lake of camera but I have problem with my own can any help me out the battery is not charging but working and displaying invalid battery. Putting another battery saying the samething using the battery on another phone it is ok. please what can i do?

  • I bought the L2 because I wanted a bare bones simple phone and that's what the L2 is. The phone has to be returned because one of the numbers on the keypad has to be pressed extremely hard to register and the persons receiving my calls complain of garbled reception. Also, when holding the phone, if the loudness button on the left side is touched, the phone ringer goes to silent and then vibrate. You then have to manually increase the ringer volume. This setting should only be changeable through the tools menu. Other than that, the phone is sleek and lightweight

  • I got this phone a week back.Used to HATE it!!But, now I'm gettin used to it....It isn't too bad....just lacks in FM Radio & Camera.Otherwise pretty good!!

  • I just got an L2 and like it so far, except that the manual doesnt seem to go with the phone, even tho it says L2. I cant figure out how to do the voice memo thing, or how to record bits of conversations. Has anyone figured this out yet? Dave

  • when im using it, there is alwaays a triangle in the top center with nothing above it. does this mean i am roaming, it goes not have the 2 or 2.5 like shown in the manual. shouuld there be anyhing there if i am not roaming?

  • hey! i have a question about this phone. i have had it for a time now and i wanted to get this vid my freind had on his phone (we made it with his camra) and i wasnt able to get the vid. i can get pix but not vids. how do i fix that or can i not fix it.

  • i keep posting, but i keep finding out more. to lock the keypad, go to ur settings->Security->Lock keypad and it tells you how...i think im done for today...

  • there is a vibrate setting. just press the # button down to change from the regular ringtone setting to vibrate, and press it down again to bring it back to the original setting.

  • i keep seeing you cant store more than one number for a contact? that isnt true. when u create a contact, all you have to do is go to that contact, click edit, scroll down until you see "MORE..." and press "Phone Number" and it lets you put another number. now, one thing I personally have not found is how to lock the keypad. im doubting its possible for this phone.

  • I read that the phone does not have a vibrate setting. So does this mean that the phone will either be on silent, or ring?

  • just got this phone today, much better than my LG C1500...real bad, please avoid lol. but anyway, the design is nice, a bit odd to work some of the features out but you'll get used to it. for its memory, a cam would be a waste, which is why there is the L6/7, but its still no point since the memory is about the same. good fone for the nonsense phone user who still wants that new feel. the stuff about no vibration and some features that said arent there...they are there lol.

  • the fone is stylish but the keypad is way too hard the menu is not as interesting as the sony ericssons and there are no fields in the phonebook but flaunt value is much more than other phones

  • This mobile is so good, but I thought that this mobile has camera as additional...

  • Quick review, not really going deep into details here. There are some things about this phone I really like and some things I really don't like. First the good things : This is a great simple phone. No camera, no iTunes, etc. Just a simple plain practical communication device. No frills, I like that. It's very slim and sleek, great to carry around. The layout of the keypad makes it very easy to use. The charger is small and great for travelling. (real good). It's not super heavy but weighs enough to not feel flimsy. The voice quality on calls is good. It looks good. It's not super expensive, I paid $200 CDN. The case is metal and it feels solid. (this is key). Seems to access the web fine, although I have not really tried much with it. Battery seems to last a good long while on mine. Speakerphone is cool. Keypad lights up automatically in poor light. Earpiece and mic are well positioned. Now for the bad stuff : The biggest problem I have with this phone is the stupid PHONEBOOK. You CANNOT save more than one number per name. If you do they come up as multiple listings of the same name in the phonebook and this is really STUPID. Know what I mean? You should be able to store a name and access 2 or 3 different numbers, (cell, home, office) for that name. Instead, you have them all as separate entries and you have to label them as such. Since I believe this phone only holds 500 entries, if your friends are like mine and usually have 3 numbers, you're going to run out of room fast. This is the ONLY phone I have ever seen like that. The other 2 things I hate might be my service provider's fault, but I thought I'd list them here anyway. I get a txt message every time I get a voice mail. This is annoying and you just have to delete them anyway. Also the name of the service provider is always seen on the home screen, like a banner. No way to customize it. LAME. Again, these might not be Motorola's design flaws but they suck. My phone store and I spent about half an hour on the phone with Motorola and they couldn't help. Also the battery that came with mine did not work so they had to replace it at the store. Other than those 3 things, though this phone seems pretty sweet.

  • Its very good phone its really nice phone at the same time very economical too

  • This phone is great and does everything I want it to do. I got this phone form FIDO Canada, but could not get it to voice dial. I did not see instructions anywhere on their manual. I called FIDO and they were of no help, they gave me the number to Motorola help. I decide to figure out the voice dial myself. 1. When you get to the part where you want to record the person's name, you hit the record button; then it tells you to press voice key. 2. Where is the voice key? I found the voice keys on the sides of the phone they are those two buttons on the edges of the phone. 3. Press the two buttons simultaneously for a few seconds it then enables recording. I hope this helps someone as lost as I was. Cheers Richard

  • My question...How can i use MP3 facility in L2?

  • My question ..How can i use MP3 facility in L2 ?

  • how do get the screensaver to work

  • I bought this phone just over two months ago. I have a couple beefs with it: Many of the ringtone download sites aren't compatible. More importantly, mine seems to be defective. Every once in a while, I can't hear anything unless it is on speakerphone. The only way to remedy that is to remove the battery for a few minutes. Then, I have to hit the power button several times to get it to power on. Unfortunately, I bought it new in box on ebay, so I'm under the impression that I am not covered under Motorola's warranty. I'm very disappointed.

  • According to Motorola's website the L2 is a quad band cell phone. I believe the above info saying it is tri-band is incorrect.

  • On the Cingular web site they mention that the L2 is Quad Band!? Which is it Tri Band or Quad band???

  • What is the difference between this L2 and L6?

  • lock & unlock keypad You can lock your keypad to prevent accidental key presses. Press -* to lock or unlock the keypad. Note: The display backlight is dimmed when the keypad is locked to conserve battery life.

  • Cool phone but just want to know is it available in black color.

  • question: how can i keep the display from blacking out after a few seconds?... settings--->initial setup---->display timeout? i have this option set to "off", but my screen still goes black after a few seconds...is this an energy saver feature?

  • well L2 is a great phone.. n for the price of jus 4.8k.. u cant ask for more.. moto has a reputation of offerin good phones at resonable price.. n bout usb cable.. go to some good electric or comp shop wher u get USB cables.. buy one tht fits.. buy a motorola tool kit cd frm motoassist or get it written from some1.. cd costs 100bucks..install the soft.. urs ready to go.. mp3 is stored in 32kbps.. reduces space.. n no cam means no prob.. better keypad than L6/L7/razr.. wat say guys?

  • its fantastic but want to know tht is this phone is available in cool pink colour

  • Does anyone know if the L6 housing is compatible with the L2?

  • This is really great, but can somebody tell me how to USB & can we transfer music, Images or videos from PC via USB.....Please help me somebody......

  • I want to know that its ring volume is low or high? pls reply me.. [email protected]

  • i had this phone for over 3 months and i could say this phone isn't that great after u drop this phone the sound is going to be horrible

  • Great to have a phone with Bluetooth and NO CAMERA!! So many locations forbid cameras now that a business phone needs a camera free option. Good job.

  • Phone has a lock feature, press Menu + * to lock and unlock

  • Hi - thinking of buying this phone. Main concerns are - No key lock - how does one keep the phone from dialing my mistake - What is push to talk ? - Does it have vibrate and ring feature?

  • it has no camera

  • its a nice phone u should by it

  • totally agree with debbie the l6 is pointless cas it comes with a crappy cam but has the same memory as the l2 so u cant really use ur cam.None the less the L2 is a great phone for people who dont like junk in their phones, especially since u pay so much for them and u get a new cell phone every year...well atleast i do...so bad with losing them LOL

  • names debbie and just got the L2 with Fido (CAN) its an amazing fone with good features i can admit their should of been more memory but since theirs no itunes or camera i guess thats just. Its a perfect fone for someone whos pratical and doesnt like gimmicks like crappy 0.3 mega pixel cam the L6 And L7 comes with when u can just buy a good mp3 player with 512 bk with the price difference bwtween the L2 and L7.Good job moto but i do wish it came in that bubblegum pink the L6 does but again the L6 is a pointless fone with a crappy fone its has the same memory as the L2 can u say pointless!!!

  • Camera phones are stricty banned in my school so I need a good , fashionable one that will pass the fashion test!! This one's looking good but does anyone know any other good ones (camera free and under 250 euro)? Or can anyone tell me some extra stuff about this phone? Thanks

  • this is a nice phone but the only negative point in this is that it does not have a camera.

  • theres l7's u know

  • I hvae this phone... And it's fine! Bit i really, really, really wished it had a camera! And the L6 is way too $$$$$!

  • I just purchased an L2 and was wanting some feedback from others on this model.

  • I'm puzzled as to which to buy; the L6 or the L2. I don't need a camera, and the lightening spaces of the L6 are not good to me. On the contrary, the L2 doesn't have a camera, and its keypad is bulging a bit, making for easier typing, I guess. My only concern is: does the L2's keypad produce annoying/loud plastic-like clicks on pressing? It would be terrible if it was like that, like my Siemens M55. Please email me if you have an L2 and can help me with that: drhhah AT gmail DOT com

  • Hi, does this fon vibrate?? i read somewhere that this doesn't have that feature...

  • its a good phone but i miss the camera

  • yes it does have a speaker phone , pretty good sound out of it

  • Hi.....I am planning to buy this one..... can anyone please tell me that does this phone contains speaker phone?

  • Great for anyone who just wants a PHONE!!! plus, you can get it for free through cingular now. cant ask for more.

  • to poster below this phone is just like L6 that i have... just download Opera mini for free and get into the real web world! and the java really works for me!!! about the keypad lock it's just not avilable so lock it by your self!!!!

  • I've had this phone for almost a month. Features that bug me however are: Can't properly display web pages (unlike my 2yr old Siemens & Nokia phones); Java Games cannot be used because software is 'out of date' so none can be used; and an auto keypad lock feature is not available. All 3 of these things should be standard on any phone and the fact that they are not is substandard. However, Bluetooth works well, fairly customizable. Between Motorola, Nokia & Siemens, my next phone later this year will be a Nokia.

  • Soooooooo glad that someone came out with a super cool camera-free phone for the US. There are a lot of us that want a camera but CAN'T have one. It's not a preference, it's a necessity. Before this we either had bad choices to make. Thanks moto!!!! This phone's keypad is so cool looking that I'm over the lasercut razr button look completely. Can anyone comment on it's range yet? I'm thinking of dropping sprint because my phone is weak, but I don't want to switch just for the cool phone and still have the same problem.

  • Hi.. I just got this phone from Fido (Canada) today. Can anyone please let me know how to setup the MP3 ringtones features ? I do not have the optional Bluetooth headset nor the optional mini-USB cable kit. Many many thanks.

  • Same set of features with added camera see L6!!, L2 is a business phone. Organizations are no longer in support of camera phones!! The era of camera phone is over. It is an era of data communication. This one with bluetooth, WAP/GPRS, SMS, MMS is in par with current trend!! No more regrets, all phone manufacturers adopt a twin release, one with camera and its counterpart without it!!!!!

  • they should have a camera, definatly

  • Excessively cool phone - this thing is really super sweet! - I renewed my Fido service and for $25 CDN picked this baby up. Feels great in my hands! No camera? who cares! No external memory? again who cares! No MP3 Player?? who the he!! cares! I definately plan on this phone being my business phone, good-bye Sony Ericsson T637 you have been replaced!

  • This is a basic cell without camera. I think CAD 200 from Fido is overpriced for it.

  • can someone pls send me the fido firmware for the l2 i accidently messed up my dad's phone

  • I got my L2 today evening. It is exceptionally good design. If you dont want a camera phone this one is good. The body of the phone is made of some anti corrosive metal like titanium (titanium is well known for its lightness, more strength with its light weight and anticorrosive behaviour, i guess it is Titanium) both front and back made of the metal, even the buttons. The joystick is cool one, the buttons are a little bit elevated and a pleasure to work. Blue lumos in dark is very attractive. I transferred mp3 ringtones through bluetooth and set an mp3 as ringtone. Its playing mp3 pretty well. I browsed net with my L2. Lots of sms storage. ITap mode text entering is a boon. Its looks and beauty is not to be seen in pictures, just if you look it once directly, I am afraid you will then "ACCIO Motorola L2" as I did.

  • I just received my L2 from Fido this evening, it's charging now... will start using it tomorrow! Thanks mike for the $200 Fido pricing answer ;) I've actually got that info (though semi-offical at the time) from some Fido reps (both in store and in call centre). I even got one of the Fido call centre rep to hint to me that the L2 would be available for order (for existing subscribers anyway) starting Monday May 15. So I called in exactly on the 15th and placed my order. To my most pleasant surprise, the phone is already delivered to my doorstep the very next day!!!

  • Fido price for L2 is $200can.

  • fido.ca has listed this phone as Coming Soon! Anyone has any idea how much it will be priced as regular phone purchase? Also does it do MP3 ringtone? I have read slightly different info on this phone from various sources, so just like to verify.

  • display timeout is for screensaver

  • is there any difference between the L2 and the L6 aside from the 32 polyphonic voices and no camera on the L2?? I wonder if it's possible to enable the 850mhz band on the L2 like it's possible on the L6. On motox.info's site, you can enable the 850mhz band to make the L6 quad band by editing the 0032_0001 seem

  • They need 2 make a motorola cell thats somewhat like the T-mobile sidekick b/c thats a very popular phone. Plus I would like the sidekick but I dont have T-mobile I have cingular

  • its a good mobile phone, but im miss camera... :-(

  • I think Moto guys have gone bonkers. What a waste of such beautiful device. ONLY 10 MB... Shud hav atleast 32 MB. Then it wud sell like hot cake. Till then, its just gud to look at.

  • Does anyone know if they released these in Australia? seems to be the best phone available without a camera, and considering I can't have one for work, nor do I need one anyway (have a digi camera for that) i would like to get one

  • This phone is already available at Cingular Wireless already. No, I am not confusing it with L6 and L7

  • to the poater below the diffrence that the backlight time out just controls the time of the screen light and the display time out controls the display switching off the second is for saving power

  • Hello ! Somebody, please tell me what is the difference between this to options : display timeout and backlight. i can't see the use of timeout option because my phone's display turn off after few seconds, that i choose in backlight option...

  • How do I install Java games on this phone ? I've got many games with *.jar and *.jad but what do I do with the files ?

  • I agree with u guys talking about da memory.I'ts 2 small it is 10 MB.But da phone is still nice & good looking. Is it coming in Malaysia?...

  • i like anything called motorola becos it has maning function.thanks

  • Lots of mistakes in these specs. 1) 10MB of memory, not 5. 2) 500 phonebook memories, not 1000. 3) CSTN display 128x160. Not TFT. 4) Not designed as an MP3 player, just MP3 ringtones. Can be used for that, but limited by the 10MB. 5) Standard battery is 720mah, not 820. 6) No EDGE 7) Triband. Think of this as an L6 w/o the camera. Good, thin, stylish phone,w/o a camera (not everyone wants one!)

  • I dont really see the point of this phone, you minus well get the l7 or l6, atleast you have a memory slot and the same features

  • I agree with u all hope motorola didn't change the spec except the memory can wait to have this phone too

  • Great fon for those prefer without camera. The only comment I had is that memory space is not only small but very very small. With MP3 player build in, suggest memory to be at least 32MB. Good for at 5 to 6 songs.

  • Worth waiting, at last a feature packed stylish quad band world phone will hit the market for those who do NOT prefer integrated camera feature. Cannot wait to buy this phone direct from Motorola. Muhammad Sakhawat Hussain

  • Beautiful fon!!! The only drawback i should say is the memory - too small. Since MOTO had its wireless concept with BT, same must be carried out with the memory space - like 16MB minimum.

  • looks like a nice phone for mid useres. lets hope that rhe price will be good. only motorola puts bluetooth in all thier new phone. very good!

  • A cool, sexy, feature packed handset from the dudes at Moto. Can't wait to buy this phone and according to hearsay, Telstra (Australia) may introduce one model towards the end of 2005 and possibly will be available for pre-paid customers. (For Au) Best Features: Super slim candy bar at 11mm, (Slimmer than V3) colour display 128 x 160 pixels, bluetooth, push-to-talk, speakerphone, java 2.0, mms, usb, class 10 gprs, 5 mb onboard memory, 24 chord polyphonic ringtones including mp3 and great battery life (Approx. 310 hours s.b.) Summary: This is a entry level base model handset and blows away most opposition brands, comparing all features available. Note: This phone has not been released yet and all specifications, features and descriptions could be subject to change. Once I get my hands on this beauty, I will post a more in-depth review on this handset. Stay Kool, koolkid

  • Why is it that every feature-packed phone has to have a camera while the camera-free phones tend to be bulky, boring, and featureless? Finally, somebody took a step forward. Ultra-thin, bluetooth, video...all without a camera. For those of you complaining about the memory limit for MP3s, I don't think you need to be listening to music at 256kbps on a cell phone.

  • Hey! If you want an mp3 player buy an iPod, if you want a video player, buy a Palm if you want a camera buy one that has at least 4 mln pixels and optic focus, cameras in mobiles Buhaha what a joke only the new SE k750i shoots 'reasonable quality' photos, and this one SUPERB silverish, stylish and ultra thin!!!

  • If a black color is available for this model, I will buy one right away........

  • a perfect phone... :S Video Player is available even if it does not have a camera :) mp3 Player is available even if its memory is only 5 MB.. I think it can only have 1 mp3 :) The worst thing is that it does not have Card slot :D I wonder How Motorola Thought that they can sell it ?? Do not try to buy that, if you want to buy a phone without camera, just have a look at Siemens SP 65... it is very good :)

  • Hah it has got TFT display with 265K colors, no camera but video player. Great! Mp3 player and 5 mb memory. No comment...

  • This is the phone that I want. No camera but got bluetooth. In addition it is slim. Nice model.

  • Mp3, Video and no card slot? Maybe it's wrong! hehehehe...

  • Good phone for low-end class. Should attract those who does not want gimmicks like VGA. Value for money if priced below USD150.

  • how much is this fone??????????

  • hope this phone sells cheap. this is the only phone middle class can count on. i myself would want to have one of these phone for myself but it really depends on the pricing.

  • nice phone right features. thumbs up for moto.

  • i wouldnt pay more than 100gbp for it. bad move moto indeed!

  • wow,, very stylish phone... thin and so sexy... i hope the price is less than 250 USD. This phone will rock on the low-end class.... But i hope motorola not just focus on design but also the features and performance... Moto,, stay fashionable!!!

  • WOo HOooo At last! this is the fone I have been killing to look for! Good Move! Good Fone! Make sure its an affordable price...say RM 399?

  • I think this phone looks great.

  • y are these moto fones so long? i dont like the buttons, no cam at all - bad move moto!
