Anybody who knows what the problem could be when my Nokia 5500 don´t start, it´s just flashes red in the upper part of the keypad when I try to start it or plug in the charger. I remember it started when I used it last time for approx 5 years ago in addition to the battery which was completely worn out, but I´ve got a new battery now. It always started on the worn out battery with the charger plugged in. Same symptom old/new battery. Thanks //Henrik

i have this phone for almost 4years now all i can say is this phone is great the earpiece sounds quality is good and the battery, mine still works fine. when it comes to software i had no serious problem with it no lags no hang ups even if i accidentally drop this phone a couple of times. it still runs like brand new and still fast enough, it can still go head to head to a latest smartphone today when it comes to performance and power. this one is much better than my N97 and htc when it comes to reliability when making call and text more user friendly got enough useful apps pre installed, this phone has never let me down, tough and reliable :) only the casing is the real problem here just got to bare it for life, poor baby :( i wish i could restore its former glory

i've had this phone since 2006 its a very good phone, i've had other nokia phones bought and re-sold but still got this kept safe, the features are nice though its a 2g phone will like to see nokia release newer version with a broad keypad and screen. The only fault ever had with mine is falling off rubber buttons, and network failure due to the weak grip of the sim slot.

this phone is awesome. i used it for nearly 1 and 1/2 years. now dont find it nywhere.picture quality is superb in daylight as it has no flash. sound capability is tremendous. and u dont have to press a button to see the screen in daylight as it quite visible under the sun unlike most of the phone these days. simply a great phone. my best till date!

The only problems i really am concern about this phoneare the: 1. Smallish screen size, really eye straining. 2. Keypad comes off but with superglue this is a minor problem. 3. Slow CPU - this is a smartphone w/ s60v3 I love this phone, is very practical and handy.

Guys, my 5500's battery doesnt charge at all !! Even though when i connect the charger the battery level indicates its charging, even after 5 hours battery level stays same. And sometimes when i connect the charger there's no response in the phone at all :( I think there's some problem with that charging port. any idea how much it will cost to replace it ?

i had one! - no please no!!!!! - i have nitemares! the - as they call edges witch are made of glossy steel is so weak it can easaly get bumps even after lite touchdown - and then rubber keypads starting to fall of!!!! ......two times in service they change panel (50 eur - original) - and again the same problem at last - my incredible sport(haha) phone was flying in the river!!!

This is a very good phone. I have been using it from past 2 and a half years. Absolutely no issues with the software or functionality. The only issue was with the keypad, which was replaced for free by Nokia. Features like motion sensor, steps calculations (which in turn can measure the speed at which you are walking!) are rarely found in other phones. Nokia should have marketed this phone better. Too bad they had to stop marketing to promote N-series.

This phone is nice in terms of the camera, video and music. Major disadvantages: 1. No casing replacement 2. It keeps hanging (sending messages would take a minute or two) I love this phone but it sucks!!!

no it's not ridiculous... yes mine got hanged a few times but because of bad software, conflicting apps or opening way too many apps... not hang for no apparent reason... and it's way infrequent to bother during the two years period... you have problem with yours then too bad for you...

no hang problems with mine... over two years now... if you have problems perhaps you should hard reset your phone, get new/latest firmware, format your memory card... if you install programs do it one by one... see if there's any that causes the problem...

certainly untrue that 5500 freezes a lot... perhaps if one were to overload it with opening many apps at once, or got apps that don't work well with the unit. my experience is like joe, have this phone or two years. despite scratches, dents, and keyboard paint problem, so far the phone works great...

I dont agree with u Jason! It is actually a great phone once u keep out of ur mind about the fact that the key pad keeps falling off! Besides, it has 3D motion sensor. I used it for 6 months, and now it serves me well...... Collection dust in my drawer!!! Just 3D motion sensor, nothing cool except that. So in a way, ur right!!! TC dude!

Go into the Messaging. Then select Settings then select Other. The third list will be the "Memory in use" option where you can specify to use Phone Memory or Memory Card. If this is the first time switching it will ask whether you want to copy your messages from the Phone Memory to the Memory Card. But it will ask you only this once. Later when you switch back and forth it will not ask you again.

if you want to use the speech feature you will have to first install the language pack(s)... then you will have the option to enable which language (english, chinese, etc.) for the speech... you can download the language packs on nokia's website... check here:

Hello everyone, This has to be one of the greatest phones ever. I have used it for over 2 years and absolutely love it. I even bought one for my wife! The keypad problem is fixed by ordering a new OEM cover/casing from ccn . cn who have only supplied high quality stuff to me. I have changed the casing twice in these 2 years and every time - the phone is as good as new. It takes about 8 months to a year for the cover to wear down and/or the keypad to peel. Internally the phone software is great - a symbian 60 v 3 hiding inside! I just updated the firmware to the latest version (4.60). My only grouse is that i'm running out of internal RAM. I'd buy a carton if i could get my hands on one for a lifetime supply. C'mon Nokia-this is one phone you should develop into the next generation - a 5500i or a 5550! :)

end of 07/early 08 i think... i then was going to replace the keypad again after the 6 months but i was late a few days (warranty expires).. so i just glued it carefully as to not affect the keys... i used superglue...

perhaps you got a dud one... my keypad peeled of after months of use. replaced it once and peeled off again after 6 months... i then glued it with super glue... no problem. no problem with keypad/numbers/typing.... no punch for the TAPPING feature. just normal tapping will do for mine... i have e61i and am still using the 5500 along with it...

This phone is the worst phone I've EVER HAD! The keypad ripped after having the phone about a month, people say you can glue the keypad but if you attempt to glue it - the glue will get in the keys and make them difficult to use. _____________________________ Good Points about this phone - The built in torch, this is really useful and the battery lasts suprisingly long with it on - Battery life is really good - Speakers are really loud and great for listening to music ____________________________ Bad Points about this phone - The screen is far too small, images viewed on the screen look a mess and not to scale. Text is extremely hard to read - The camera is AWFUL, there is no built in flash either - The keypad is sooo hard to type on, I guarantee you the keypad will rip within a few months of use - Metal around outside can get ery easily dinted, I dropped mine once, and it ended up with a massive dint in it. - The tap command, this is complete RUBBISH, you have to literally punch the phone on the side for it to work. Overall the phone isn't too bad, but DEFINATELY a big mistake if you are looking for a good camera, multimedia phone.

Too bad, it was an interesting phone. Also, it somtimes worked too slowly. I think Nokia tried to put too many things in one phone so this is the result. firstly to all the ppl who say keypad sucks, the new ones dont come off.. for me first one came off in june and after i replaced it(for free under warranty) its fine till now..(i send around 1500 messages a month)... and videos in 3gp format is good if converted to right resolution.. So overall this phone is quite awesome and one of a kind...

i have this phone for more than 2 years... i'm very pleased. indeed the camera isn't very performant, but if u catch a good light, the img will be fine. The music software is great, also the sport software has many app and its made intresting. The batery is normal: 4-5 days (not playing) 3-4 days using ap. 4-5 hours per day. Anyway is the best outdoor (smart)phone on the market :D

1.camera poor quality like vga even having 2mg. 2.keypad use less fully low quality rubber is used its become useless after a month or between 2-4 its a real fact. 3.battery backup is too small its hardly 1 day if u are not playing music more than 15 minutes. 4. too much small screen u cant' enjoys videos 3gpp videos are too bad in this phone but .avi format is too good while watching a video 5. but fully loaded functions in compare of its price 6. sound is good is good while playing in loud speaker means medium... in sound. so never buy this and don't waste ur money....

i have 3 phone of the nokia 5500. 2 have a problem after sometime it got no signal at all. you have to take off the battery for few day and plug in. I bring to nokia and they return me a few day saying no problem,after a few day something similar happen again. So beware of this product

3D motion sensor is accelerometer sensor tilt and stuff like that go to symbian-freak.com U`ll find games and app using the accelerometer it can be used as gamepad for PC but I think only N95 is able to do this. and search youtube for n95 accelerometer it can be used for scrolling thru the menu too changing songs etc,etc,etc

3D motion sensor chip embedded in the phone mainly (only?) seem to be used for the excercise applications, like keeping track of how many steps you have taken so far during a day. This sensor should also be very useful in certain games, assuming of course that there are appropriate APIs available for 3rd party developers.

A very durable phone - until it sheds its keypad. Then it's totally unusable. I had mine fixed under warranty. The rubber flap covering the connectors at the bottom also broke. Now the phone is 16 months old, more issues have emerged. The text messaging application is so buggy that it crashes-to-standby at least twice a day. Sometimes it doesn't crash, it just hangs, and I have no choice but to reboot the phone. And turning it on takes about two minutes - no good if you need to call an ambulance (yes, it once delayed me calling an ambulance). The key placement also means I frequently hit cancel by accident when texting, so I have to find my half-written message in Drafts. This usually involves the Messaging app hanging again, me swearing, and rebooting the phone again. The Sports application can not be exited. It runs in the background draining power as long as the phone's on. Some nice features - like a pedometer, and the very useful torch - but it's missing some basic things. There is NO STOPWATCH and NO COUNTDOWN TIMER. I don't want a bloody World Clock if I can't time my pie in the oven. Don't buy it. For your own sanity. You'll thank me.

My wife gave it to me on the 19/03/2007, it went to garantee 4 times and it never came 100% ok... I got problens with lot of dust allways apeering on the screen; the mp3 reader never worked well, not being able to read play list only playing the musics from the gallery and the fones never gave me good sound impression even being trade(in garantee)3 time for new one. I tryed to by a wireless headfones to solve the problens of the wires but found out that it doesn�t have stereo bluetooth... It was with big sorow mine that i gave it back on garantee! I liked it a lot for is multifuncionalitie but disliked it for is several problens that it had... I�m searching for a replacer, but haven�t found yet...

I guess they're the same thing. About the keypad, so far the ones I heard peeling off are the black version, so you don't have to worry. You don't need to glue yours (hopefully).

Basically, the keypad comes off easily if you're a fast and frequest texter. Then, everytime I send a message, it freezes for 5 minutes. I swear I just dump my phone on my bed or on my desk after I send a message. The music is amazing, and the camera is OK. It's been tossed in water and falled from 1 -2 meters and survived. IF there wasn't the freezing after the SMS and IF I had the confidence to superglue the keypad onto the phone, I'd definetely keep it. I also love the flashlight and 'sporty' look of the phone. I've had this phone for nearly 9 months, the keypad has peeled off 3 times so I'm keeping it an ugly cover that takes up a lot of space =/ But if you don't text a lot, then this phone is absolutely immortal. But if you like texting, don't buy this phone. That is all.

Great phone on paper, display is a little on the small side, but if you do your homework before purchase then you should know if this is acceptable to you. the BIG problem though is the keypad which has now become unstuck twice with me in the past 15 months. It is rendering the phone almost useless. The lowwer half of the keypad has snapped off, and I hold it in place with an elastic band. I upgrade my elastic band every fortnight as I find it becomes slack and the pad falls off! I recomend DO NOT BUY unless Nokia have issued a fix for this.

I'm not sure if I should wait for Nokia's next tough phone which is well over due. But after the problems I had with the 5500 should I even bother. On the other hand I can�t imagine they will make the same mistakes as before if they ever do make another tough phone after the 5500. I was looking at the Sonim XP1 and the Airo A25 they seem to be what a tough phone should be. Does anybody have or used one of these phones. I would really be grateful if someone could write a review.

Hi just to let you know if you want to bulk delete enter folder you want to delete from and open options menu select mark/unmark and select all then open options menu again and pick delete this will delete all messages hope this has been of some use to you

mine lasted only for a month i had the old water splash nokia 5140 and i still use it and i have changed it with the new one 5500. some problems were found from the very first days. it was asking for the sim card . the company iliotis i bought it after a month said that it was the screen and it broke and then after i insisted that the screen was not broken they said that moisture has destroyed the screen. How a water splash mobile get moisture inside? now i use my old phone and i will not buy again from that company since they do not have any quarantee as they said in the beginning of two years quarantee .

My keypad peels too, but will try find Nokia store to fix that. Interface seems slow at times, and a few times it has frozen and I've had to remove battery and restart phone. Had for jus under a year and it hasn't broken yet, which is good.

i have my 5500 about four months now and Ive had to send it back to nokia because the battery only lasts around ONE hour after a full charge when it's used to call or receive a call plus i don't use my phone for anything else no blue tooth or infra red, i rarely pick it up unless making or answering a call this is totally unacceptable and you should consider this if you want to buy one of these phones

this is a great phone. warranty covered the problem of the rubber cover delaminating. In fact, when they replaced the cover, it came with a new metal body, so it looked brand new!! All the dents on the metal body from the spills it took were GONE!!! What can I say, Nokia were very prepared for warranteeing this phone! I have had it since Oct 2006 and won't replace until it dies. GREAT phone!!!

Hey "nokia 5500 owner", you might wanna try to sign the .sis/sisx file first in order for it to be installed in your phone. The same is true also with the themes. Also, the Symbian 9.1 os is not back-compatible. It means that the programs written for the previous versions (such as n70, n90, 6630, 6600 and 3230) can't be installed in your phone. If you've checked this cases, you would have no problems in installing your favorite applications in it. That's all.

I really like this phone. Not only it does look like a real phone, but it also hides something of a great monster that will make everyone owning it to be a very capable person. Starting with its three modes (the Phone, Music and Sport), well, admit it that this is the only phone that can do all the three modes simultaneously. It sports the not-really-the-latest-but-fast hardware specs incorporated with the new generation Symbian OS, a 220 mHz processor utilized by the Symbian OS 9.1 S60 3rd Edition respectively. I like the idea that smartphones would have to change their reputations of big and bulky and I am very grateful that I'm one of the lucky pioneers who have to own such petite magnificence in brilliance. On the other side of the story, even Achilles had his heels as a weakness, this down-to-earth phone also does have some shortcomings that will have to put a very big impact on its productivity to some users. The very negative issue on this phone is its KEYPAD FALLING OFF. I do admit that I'm one of the victims of such phenomenon and it is quite a big disappointment for such a sportphone to think that it must be very invulnerable to dust and splash. Another thing that hinders it for reaching the peak of satisfaction is its battery life. Imagine, for the very first time that I had used this phone to extent, I make the juice out of it in just 5 hours! Indeed, it shocked me but considering the fact that it is a very powerful capable phone having to be energized by a mere 760 mAH battery, it do deserve to be pardoned and respected. I have read some users reporting on the speed issue. I guess its on the user's managing of running applications at the same time. It is not the latest core duo computers that you have the freedom to multitask all your apps. Should you have a 220mHz-consideration? In my seven months of experience with this phone, I only experience this when I use the phone while Music Player on the background and when I have 500 messages in my Inbox and a hundred more in the Outbox. Its normal speed it faster than other Symbian phones (N70, 6600, 6630, and 3230). Remember, it has the same specs as Nokia 3250. Hints for faster usage: 1. Don't do stuffs while having the music mode on the background. 2. Do not store so many messages in the Inbox and Outbox. Move it to a folder or delete it and please do put the memory card to default as the memory to use. 3. Delete unnecessary files in the phone memory. In summary, this is not a phone for those who don't know how to consider some minor problems. A price to be paid for what it can do. This phone is targeted for those who are active in life that requires a smarter phone for a companion. It lacks the future-proof 3G frequencies and multimedia handling (including the very small 208*208 pixel-screen) but is do complemented by having a 3-D sensor, Text-to-Speech functionality and a very durable solid built. For them it is the Nokia 5500 Sport, but for me, it is the Nokia 5500 Sport- a Smartphone on Steroids.

try the sms accelarator from the nokia website. If you have trouble finding it go to home page of Nokia 3250 and product and support and you can find it under software. Symbian phones are slow at sending messages than series 40 phones.

The problem was the glue that was used on the first phone. Since then they have improved the glue used. I also had one of the phones from the first batch and took it to Nokia to have it fixed its been fine ever since. Keypad has never come close to coming off its been wet and muddy more times than it been dry. Now I have faith in it again. Hope this helps

The lag i'm experiencing on it is more than annoying, no sms accelerators help (and why should such apps are available officialy by nokia? they should fix it in a software upgrade, not by installing some applications that consume memory).. Looks and feels good, nice set of features too, but it's reliability is so poor.. Don't know about others, but mine is rubbish..

I have bought the N 5500 Sport Express, and it is a very reliable telephone. To answer one of the questions, yes it is GPS compatible, but you need to buy the GPS module wich is not very expensive. The camera makes magnificent pictures, and once you download them on your PC you can see the quality. The sound are of good quality. I bought the phone with the data cable included wich really is a very positive thing in my perspective. The 3D motion sensor is a very cool thing esspecially if you are an active person. I hope some of you agree with mystatement and for those who want to buy it, good luck, the phone is worth, in my oppinion.

the phone is quite nice but there is a great problem with the keypad being made my rubber. it came out very soon and i don't find the keypad available everywhere.........that's the greatest thing. others are fine i must say. i suggest the manufacturer to increase the screen size and the change in keypad.....

Hi,i buy the phone in march 2007,also after few months of use the ruber keypad was of,but i use a superglue and now is ok,i have 3 accident on road whit my bike and the phone resist very good to them,also i change his version soft whit the latest version find in Nokia site,and now work good,if i want to buy again a phone i think i buy that phone,in time i love it,is smal and practic,the sound when i talk is clear,the reception is good,the batery life also is good(but i buy a second batery because i use much the internet and music player and the GPS navigation).If i want or need to watch the Televisions programs online,it works wery good(have streaming),the sound whit music player is strong,very clear and wonderful,also i download themes and softwares and much music from internet and it works so good.In conclusion,after 8 months of using,i recomand that phone(especial for active people),and a prayer for Nokia to do something whit the problem about the ruber tastes.Thank you.

i dont know about you guys but my 5500 fits best for me. though i'm not into outdoor activities( which i could say it's pretty useless sans the flash light), i love this phone coz it has everything that i wished a phone could have. In the Philippines i bought just for Php 5000 ($100 US dollars . of course it's a second hand but i got it fresh just like new) and believe me guys, nothing sort of damage nor negative comments that i've read here have i experienced using the phone . 1.keypad - though i received it with its side flapping and about to peel, i just used super glued it then it feels looks like new again. 2. S60 3rd edition -though screen is tiny, you cant get any nokia or SE phone for its price (BTW $100 is an average price for a second hand phone of this model),i know it may sound ridiculous but at least i could keep my excel and word files for the office and view it here using quickoffice. the only downside though was the SMS part that freezes for 5 sec. but that's tolerable. 3. MP3 playback - speaker's were excellent. the preinstalled mp3 player was just as good as my ipod--.i used 2 gb micro sd and it's almost 80% full and i could still manage my music without too much lag. 4. Camera - for the price i've mentioned, this is the cheapest phone you could have with a 2 MP. Quality is good for daylight pics but turns crappy if you shoot on dim lighting. If only they could have made the flashlight to rotate on the camera side, it would have been useful for a steady flash. Video quality is just as good as an entry level N-series phone. 5. Housing - This is the most essential feature that has found a practical functionality here in Manila, especially when you walk in the rain. i dont care if i drop it accidentally nor soak it wet while typing SMS coz i did. waterproof and shockproof!.try that with you're shiny N-series !) Some things that i wish it had: 1. Flash 2. 30fps video 3. a little bit larger screen( i understand it needs to be small for it to fit a shockproof housing. 4. A better keypad. 5. More functional pedometer All in all i would recommend this phone and gives most phones a run for its money

Either the sim card reader or the antenna(dun know which one, but the symptoms is no reception) broke dwn twice and Nokia will not tell me why, just saying "Spare parts replacement". This is crap. Seriously, don't buy this phone. I wanted a phone that wouldn't break easily or get damaged, and I chose this one. But, the keypad was ruined after a month, and i had to change it imediately. Now after, another 5 months, it's damaged again. Plus, the phone takes FOREVER to send a message, freezes up and sometimes i have to open the back to take out the battery so i can retype it again. Also, lately, for about a month now, when people call me, it says my phone is off, but it's not, or when they call me, i don't see any missed calls whatsoever. And i look all over the LOG list. Received and Missed calls show no missed calls at all. This is the second time I'm taking it to get the keypad fixed, but if it breaks once more, I swear, I'm demanding for a new phone free of charge >.< god nokia, you really fucked up with this phone. Deal All, Nokia 5500 sports handsent seems very good and sounds good too. However themes are just ugly and text cannot be read clearly. Backgound colour and text colour choosed in default theme is just poor. Even on Nokia website, theme suport is missing. Nokia suggesting us to purchase these themes from Symbian at huge money. Battery back up is very poor. Rubber keypad and other rubber parts are not available in market. If anybody knows the urls or websiste providing free theme supposts please mail me. Finally no body should buy this phone becaue it will give you trouble surely.

After spending some decent money on this phone I was hoping for a good quality phone. Initially this phone seemed to be pretty good. Then the keypad starting coming off. The problem is clearly a design and material issue. The problem resides with the choice of rubber used and clearly was not tested correctly. Nokia, if put to the test, would have a hard time to fight this. I bought it earlier this year and have put it in for warranty and I've stated I don't want the same problem in a few weeks after I get it back. It is obvious that Nokia did not test it with warm fingered usage, a robot pressing the keypad a million times will have no problems but a warm finger utilising the keypad causes the rubber compound to stretch. This in turn causes it to bubble and then strain the "glue" sticking it to the frame. The glue then starts to give way and your on your way to a useless keypad. It is absolutely clearly a fault with the phone and nothing to do with the user. Don't let them bluff you. For another example a pen manufacturer uses a similar rubber compound at the base of the pen. This rubber starts to react the same way as the rubber in the keypad did, it starts to stretch from "WARM" fingers moving on the rubber. Nokia needs to change the compound used in the rubber to remove this problem.

This phone is quite good and regarding the keypad, my phone was under warranty and nokia priority care helped me to change the keypad without any charge. also if ur mobile connection is prepaid after 10-15 calls the balance is not shown.. for that we have to switch off the mobile and turn on back. the sound clarity is really amazing and some of the softwares aint support on this phone.

The truth and the fact is, the only problem with this phone is the keypad. I had mine since May 2007 and yes the keypad was coming out. I used Krazy Glue and now it's in there for good. This phone is a smart phone. There are tons of software for it. It's a great introduction for those who are now getting into smart phones or symbian OS. It is compatible with 2gb memory cards. I bought a 2gb today, now my phone is like a mini ipod. the music player is really good too. Plus it has motion sensor control by tapping to change tracks, pause, etc. There is also the text to speech feature which is very cool. RATE 8.5/10 P.S. 1.5 less because of the faulty keypad

WARNING: "NEVER BUY THIS MODEL" i have bought it 6 months ago and its keypad loosened just after 2months. After the hard struggle of 4 months i became successful to replace my keypad for Rs.2,000 (almost $35 brought from UK not available in whole country) which is a very big amount for just a replacement of keypad. Although it is a manufacturing fault but nokia isn't helping its customers at all in its so called warranty.... And also the battery timing is so poor that i have to charge it two times in a day. The 64Mb is NOT internal. It is a microSD flashcard that comes with the phone. I've personally bought a gigabyte one to mine. The 5500 is the SMALLEST s60 out there. It tells you something. Also, the screen is, although only 208x208 pixels, a square which I totally dig. It's very sharp and bright, I love it. Unlike many new Nokias, the keypad is plastic/rubbery which feels much better to type with. The connectors are also under a rubbery shield for protection. Quite handy, hopefully it won't come off after some time.. I wouldn't buy any other 3rd edition phone, it's so great! It's also much faster than most new E-series phones, too..

I read that the majority of people have had lots of problems with the keypad. Waterproof!!I put the phone through an industrial front loader washing machine and it still works. The memory card doesn't but the rest is still good. I think this is what made my number pad lift off..

Hi people, one advice from me regarding this sporty mobile: DON'T BUY THIS MOBILE!! I bought one, worked fine for 2 months then the rubber keypad torn off totally. Tried to glue it by some special glue but failed. Showed it to Nokia service, replied me reluctantly with no solution. Its the 1st rubbish mobile that Nokia EVER MADE! The keypad construction wasn't made carefully, neither solid nor made at least by other materials, plastic for an example. It features almost everything with its compact size and design but failed with its keypad construction. The mobile is totally worn out now, and i can't find a solution to fix it, but to buy another mobile, but this time hopefully a pocket pc!

well, rumors about keypad are true, it really does eventually rip off, but it's no big deal, because few drops of glue fixes it once and for all..:) the shape of this phone is a classic bar, so that means it's durable, no moving parts (like sliders or flippers), metallic casing and rubber parts makes it even tighter, so this phone could easily pretend to outdoor class.. it's rectangle shaped display isn't there with no reason, it's there because such screen is more resistant to splashes.. the flashlight is very handy attribute, camera works fine.. the only cons could be poor battery life, extreme lag while working with short messages when their number reaches ~ >1000 and quite poor default set of applications.. I personally miss few things found in non-symbian nokia phones, such as auto-keylock, speed and so on..

the peeling keypad is covered under warranty by nokia because they used a faulty glue, just take it into a service centre and they will fix it

ok..bought this phone in late april..keypad peeled in late may... ok here's the solution... Peel keypad till all the numbers are off. Get some all purpose glue and a match stick. Take up some glue with the match stick and place on the inner edges where the key pad rests. Place some on the ribs going across. Wait ah while about 5 minutes until dry to touch and then press and hold down the keypad with the palm of your hand for 5 minutes.. worked for me....

Hi mona there's something you can install to speed up the texting. its a known issue for 5500 sport and any other symbian 9.1 (version 3). go to and download SMS Accelerator and install it in your 5500 sport. you should've told that to the nokia agent as well becoz they can upgrade your phone's firmware or install the SMS Accelerator themselves for free. im also from the philippines by the way =)

got the 5500 as a christmas gift 2006. keypad started peeling off by february 2007. spilled beer onto it last april with the peeling keypad but experienced no problems. finally got a nokia agent to replace the full face/cover at no charge because it is still under warranty (i'm in the philippines). now its like brand new. still happy with it except it takes forever to send text messages.

When a file is transferred via Bluetooth (from another phone), the file is sent as a SMS, which defaults to Phone memory. However the general opinion is that it does not do justice to its "predecessor", the 5140i. Feedback from my consumers suggests that a slightly modified 5140i with bluetooth and an improved camera would have been ideal. On first impression the phone appears to be very well equipped similar to the n73 infact. But it remains to be seen how it will perform...

its too bad.. i like the features of this phone. Its like my Ngage QD the side rubber grip just peeled off by its self because of the extending of rubber, but id fixed it not by gluing it.. by buying a "Class A" side rubber grip imitation, its rubber is different from the original one and ohh btw i tried an original once and it peels off again.. the imitation lasts until now! 2yrs. Well i guess i'll be waiting for its "Class A" imitation casing..i live in the Philippines and its too many imitation casing around here for a totally cheap cost of 2$-10$ i wouldnt bother changing my casing every month hehe..

The best phone i've ever had : light, powerful, no pb with keyboard, and great when working in GPS mode with route77. I've had 3 samsung before (i320, D600, e350), 1 sony-ericsson (T610), 2 nokia (6111, N-gage) but none of them could compete with 5500. Symbian 60 is great too.

the 5500 is good-have fast amr4-cpu 235mhz,display is bright.you can use 1gbcard,recomend to have at any time 20mb free space in card.bad thing of the phone is rubber claviature-is imposible to fixed,ifyou replaced after 10 days will clue out again.so i use extraordinare solution-put it the phone in plastic case/no have original-use from 3220nokia-must make hole for camera and for usb pop port/no problem now-esturday was on beach 25c on sun and no clue out becouse is in case.and at the back side of the case have staple for belt-you can hangin the phone /on bicikle like me/and making the pictures whit selftimer mode.madpanas

When i first saw this phone -i loved it. It's really well styled and apart from a couple of long winded routes to get to certain areas within the applications, -it's pretty easy to use too. Sadly i think all that aside that this phone is now cack. Ever since i've had it there has been an echo when talking. When not in use -if you hold the phone to your ear it makes a buzzing/ humming/ charging type noise. Sometimes in mid conversation it decides to switch to loud speaker all by itself and you can't switch back. Half the time when i receive calls -the call stays open even after i have/ the caller has ended the call and i have to remove the battery to un-freeze it. The 'Titanium' casing is thin and is already dented from one tiny drop. =It's no where near as protective as the previous bomb proof rubber Nokia's. The rubber keypad is also crap as it has completely come away from the lower half of the phone and appears to be fixed in place by some kind of double sided sticky tape. If the keypad where replacable -i think i could just about bear with the other faults that this phone has -but sadly i've got to find another robust phone to replace it. Anyone know of any other decent bomb proof phones? If you're gonna buyone -make sure that the buzzing thing isn't happening, and be preparred to carry it around in a large roll of bubble wrap. Nokia Sport -my arse.

hi. i purchased this phone few days ago and i'm stil enjoying it. this morning i've made a foolishness: i took the microSD card out of the phone and i put it into my hp camera. when i've put it back in the phone i've observed that all aplications on memory card weren't working because the camera has changed the name of some folders. a i have a big apeal at you. if anyone can archieve the structure of the card and send it to me at this mail i'll be very thankfull. thanks.

Very nice phone, it serves its purpose as a sports phone ie reading text messages when you are running or when your hands are tired up. It also has a sports diary where you can keep count of calories burnt.However, my rubber keypad is comming off - I thought this phone was waterproof.

Camera quality good,no problems with Keypad(Knock on wood). the only thing is, Dispite its said to be bump Proof,It fell once and got an ugly Dent on the Metal frame(so called Stainless steel) in front,got real dissapointed.and i got a freeze error, and restarted it and works like a charm.the Music player is loud. and the best part i like is its Size- really small and neat.i give it a 4/5

The 5500 is faster than the N70 or N72 because the 5500 uses Symbian S60 3rd Edition. N70 and N72 use the older 2nd Edition.

i think the designer of this model sucks.. specially the keypad.... how come they just put glue to stick the keypad with the body.. even though you replace the new keypad, when the glue gets hot, the glue will melt and unstick the keypad again, then you have to replace the keypad over and over again. i just trade-in my nokia 5500 to other phone model this morning.. so disappointed

NOkia 5500 has been publically explored to be a poor quality mobile by China Central TV in 15th March, 2007. In it's show, Nokia's aftersales services is quite poor, at least we could discribe it as dissatisfactory. Why Nokia always releases a lots poor designed mobile, such as 3250,5500,etc.?

THIS nokia 5500 sport is so real.... the only problem is that it does not have a cd player built in, nor does it have a minidisc player, come on nokia...... Hi. I'm not sure by what you said receiving programs from other phones. But it can receive and install program (receive *.sis, or *.jar) from other phones. I've been using this phone since September last year. Other than the keypad peeled off two months after I got it, I have no problem at all. I got the keypad replaced for free recently (mid February) and so far so good. =)

quite fragile for a sport phone, keys pealed of on mine too. a bit of superglue added and now it's fixed, also a bit o plasitc covering the part beneeth the screen fell off. Also i had to have it serviced coz it got stuck with the haeadset on. i own the previous model and it was much more rugged than this one, also it's laking an auto keylock function witch is eesential for my lifestile.

Now it looks like that everybody is having the same problem. I might sale it off, I don't want to have a mobile whose keypad would be changed after every month. high, i'm dutch and i have just found out about this telephone isn't it great the design, the shape its the first phone that has granted al my wishes i love that flashlight, lights up the dark when it needs to and more important it is a moodsetting light. i like it, it also comes in handy that its edges are really soft so i can't hurt myself or my loved ones. this is the perfect - phone

This phone is bunk. Me too with a peeling keyboard. What designer would conceive of such a thing? I bought this, my 4th Nokia expecting it to be like the others in terms of it's menu system. The older models you could change your sim card from one phone to another and bingo, in business. Not here no way. Rethink your strategy Nokia!

There is no doubt that this is a great phone and I love lots of the features that it has. However� I�m now on my second one and again after only about 4 weeks the keypad is pealing off. For obvious reasons this is not good at all, and I am now in discussion with my phone company (O2) to get a third handset. This time I will be asking for a different model because having read the reviews hear and through my own experience I�m not stupid enough to assume that another 5500 will stand the test of time.

this phone has really disappointed me, after a month of ussage the keypad has started peeling off without any reason. How can it be water and rust resistant? on the other hand it has a loud and stereo speaker. Those of us living in America, we are not covered by warranty that is what I was told by the seller. texting is very annoying and time comsuming with the keypad torn like that.

Just to say that The KeyPad issue is really serious. It Seems at least 2 of 3 owners face great problems with their keypad. I hope Nokia can provide a good solution for this problem, otherwise this model is just a junk!

I purchased a 5500, works bright, the processor speed is perfect, also its compatible with all software. 1- Just a little bug in music player, it doesn't find your music files not copied through PC suite (e.g. through data storage mode). 2-You can not use standard themes, you have to find a theme special for 5500. I have not found any yet. 3-Seems that any theme other than the default one is just an overlay, and takes extra memory in addition to default theme. 4-The default headset in the box has large interference with GSM while talking. 5-The lower cover for the socket depresses the battery door and battery door lock is defected easily. Also it harms the charger socket pin. 6-The body design is perfect and fine, but seems in some specific range the body quality is very poor and all parts become loose very soon. Also the steel frame is very sensitive to scratch, it becomes so ugly in your pocket!

Its a nice phone. I am using it for last two months. Its a great phone. There are only two issues. Smaller Screen & Battery performance. I needed a tough phone, and was willing to have the smaller screen for that. Whereas battery lasts for almost 1.5 days. Though I use phone a lot (voice & data both). I am happy with this phone. I really love the text to speech and tapping features. At the end it depends what you want from the phone. If you need a bigger screen, you should buy some other phone.

Fellow future owner, I m a nokia fan since the day I purchased my first mobile.I have used siemens,panasonic and motorola(the worst by far)but nothing can compare to a nokia (*personal opinion expressed). However nokia made a mistake developing this device. Fistly it came in an era when mobile phone screens are far larger than 208*208 pixels. This screen will have you carrying a magnifying glass around. More over the shape and even worse the hardness of the keyboard can cause ,seriously, mild injuries to your fingers Finally, whatever concerns the operating system words are not enough to describe the mess that a single sms can cause.I can t imagine why but this device is slower when it comes to multitasking than any other previous one.It s slower to an extent that practically there is no multitasking ability.As for the music-mp3 player..Too complicated,too slow(remeber multitasking),and a very poor reproduction quality. Thankfully I got rid of it quite quickly and returned to my supreme 6600..Buy another nokia ,but not 5500

At First look the phone is good. But Honestly the software is terrible. The phone crashes every time I check my balance *123# (try it if you want). The Keypad is even worse, It came off even before two months was complete. So much for being a rugged phone. Beware, especially if you buy this phone in India as the Nokia manager here told me "its your problem". Advice, don't go anywhere near this phone. 6280 is a much better choice!

i'd wait and see if anyone else has problems with the music edition before getting it in terms of the earpiece being uncomfortable...you have an adaptor why not use your own? i am using a older earpiece from a different phone. i'd guess that the adaptor and the included earpiece, the cord would be about 2 metres long!

i am confused what to say about this phone set? i was so excited before buying it but disappointed after having it. its not user friendly...keypad is stiff enough thati got nail ache :-S. Earphones ...God! earphones are not easy to use. and mini display doesnt satisfy my sight. am really confused either to give comment or compliment. Although a good & small handset but still i did not find it good enough to keep on using it. I am soon gona buy SE w850i. Great phone with 2 reservations :- 1. No flash (at least you should know this before buying) 2. The keypad, this has completely peeled off my phone, rendering the unit useless. I'm hoping Car Phone Warehouse as tyhe nominated Nokia repairer will sort this out for me, but I am not sure how long the repair will last.

Yes, I did install themes of N80 on 5500. and it works fine. it says in the beginning that the installation isnt supported or something for this phone.. but i installed it and it works fine.

in terms of themes, any series 60 v3 theme will work. so themes for n91, n73, 3250 ect and my KEYPAD has stuffed up for the 2nd time. its not as bad as last time yet but its already bubbled. im just gonna keep on getting fixed until its end of warenty then sell it off

@mike That's a problem in most (if not all) Symbian phones. @5500 No, it's not a 3G-capable phone. It's one of the few that aren't in Nokia's latest releases.

I love the motion sensor, flash light, and the resolution of this phone, but this phone is testing my temper! Two months into using it, the keypads start to peel off and the phone couldn't get any signal. After half a month of waiting for Nokia Care Philippines to sort it out, the problem is still there and it only got worse. My calls are choppy and most of the time being cutoff even with full signal bars displaying on both phones. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that Nokia is making me wait for the arrival of the new front cover to fix the keypad issue which I know will start to peel off in a month or two. Sorry Nokia I won't be waiting for your keypad to arrive because im going to trade in the phone and this is the last Nokia phone that I'll ever buy. Definitely a lemon if I saw one.

At one time, I couldn't turn off the phone the normal way and the menu wasn't visible. The remedy was to remove the battery and then replace the battery.

@Stat If your keypad comes off (pretty common thing, apparently), just bring it over to a Nokia Care Center or Nokia store (or even the dealer where you got it) and they'll replace it for you. If your unit's still under warranty, that is.

@G Yes, the Nokia 5500 has a shorter than usual battery life. It's a common experience among 5500 users. I myself have to charge the phone every other night. If you need to talk a lot on your 5500, I could suggest just carrying an extra battery along. The BL-5B (the Nokia 5500 battery) is quite small and light, so it's a pretty fair tradeoff if you require a lot of talktime.

@julie I suggest that you do one of the following: (1) format your memory card or (2) check your settings and put your inbox into your memory card. Multimedia files received through bluetooth all go into the inbox, so you might have a problem if your inbox is stored on your phone memory.

@chiki update: only themes formatted for 208x208 will work here. The 176x208 themes for N70 should have theoretically worked, but they didn't. Anyways, there are lots of websites out there that offer free downloadable themes. @chaz No, the Music Edition isn't available yet and don't expect it to be available soon. Only the European market has it so far. I tried looking for it in the States but no go. Between the Nokia 5500 Sport and the Nokia 5500 Sport Music Edition, there are basically three main dsicrepancies: (1) color choice [the ME only came out in red] (2) bundled memory card [the standard edition comes with 64MB while the ME comes with 512 out of the box] and (3) carrying accessories [the ME includes a waist belt - part #CP-135 - that the standard edition doesn't have]. Chaz of Manila, I just suggest that you get a regular edition and then get a 512MB card yourself. There are 512MB microSD cards for sale at CDR King outlets for PhP780 ($15.50) each.

chiki: themes for other Nokia handsets probably wouldn't cover the entire screen because they're made for displays that are 176x208 in size. the difference in screen size (this one's 208x208) probably explains that problem. hope i helped.

u have to install the .sis application... u can't view it... get pc suite and install it thru that.. and the phone costs somewhere around 250-300euros.. got mine at a best buy of 230.. whee!!.. and the volume is cos the headset they've provided isnt all too great.. get one of ur own.. should sound good then.. anyway u cant compare it with the ipod and such..

i bought N5500 Sport a couple of days ago. i must say it is a good phone, because it has right about everything you could want from a mobile phone, and everything is working well. it's a phone i bought with ALL my money savings, after a week of reading the reviews on this device. i have only 2 dislikes : the volume in the headphone is poor. the second one is about the plastic used on the bottom of the device, that covers the power and hands'free connectors. i'm affraid it will fall of very quickly ... anyway : it's a very very good phone. i recommend it.

i found a way to close the sports mode in the nokia sport 5500 ...just connct ur usb cable to ur pc like using the pc suit..the phone will ask u to chosse a mode...choose the DATA TRANSFERE mode...then the phone will close all the applications automatically...then press the menu buttom for 2 seconds...the sports mode is FINALLY GONE NOTE:if u entered the sports mode again u have to repeat this to close it

Just got one 3 days back... love it... and it actually is water proof.. but then nokia cant really say it is, incase it does screw up, then they'll have to pay up for the liability in their clause.. so its just splash proof for now.. and it feels jus rite in ur palm.. and an equivalent o the N80 without the WLAN feature and the light sensor keypad... a great phone over all.. worth every penny.. screen is good.. compared to the N80 it is smaller, but its good enuf, and no problems reading text or docs in it unless ur 7 feet away from ur fone!.

Actually i think there's a reason for the display screen being small. The display is obviously the more fragile part of the phone. A big display screen would increase the chance of the display screen breaking, and since this is a truly protected phone the screen is made smaller.

I managed to get s ome of them downloaded from the nokia support sites, but these three I couldn't find: the Web Browser, the Chinese Dictionary, and the Wakeboard. i found a way to close the sports mode in the nokia sport 5500 ...just connct ur usb cable to ur pc like using the pc suit..the phone will ask u to chosse a mode...choose the DATA TRANSFERE mode...then the phone will close all the applications automatically...then press the menu buttom for 2 seconds...the sports mode is FINALLY GONE NOTE:if u entered the sports mode again u have to repeat this to close it

i bought this 3 weeks back ,initially it looked cool. i hardly use the motion sensors.The audio quality is sad ,Nseries or w700 or w810 would beat this any time. Though it has a 2 mega pixal the picture quality is not as good as Nseries.Its display is also small compared to Nseries so browsing is difficult.Finally the worst part it has a poor battery life, because the sports application keeps running in the backgroung. I would request the readers to go for W810 or N series which are available at the same cost.

The 64Mb is NOT internal. It is a microSD flashcard that comes with the phone. I've personally bought a gigabyte one to mine. The 5500 is the SMALLEST s60 out there. It tells you something. Also, the screen is, although only 208x208 pixels, a square which I totally dig. It's very sharp and bright, I love it. Unlike many new Nokias, the keypad is plastic/rubbery which feels much better to type with. The connectors are also under a rubbery shield for protection. Quite handy, hopefully it won't come off after some time.. I wouldn't buy any other 3rd edition phone, it's so great! It's also much faster than most new E-series phones, too..

Correction: This phone does operate on Symbian OS 9.1 3rd Edition. But nokia posting 2MP on this phone is technically not true, its more like 1.6MP (hint:how much zoom it can allow).

I bought this phone about a month ago and its amazing, I even use TOMTOM 6 GPS on it with Bluetooth Receiver. No Complaints about anything on this phone. Software for its a bit rare but most software that works with is Symbian OS S60 3rd Edition. Amazing that is all I can say. Nokia you did a great JOB.

@mitzu; how can u compare M75 with nokia 5500?? siemens didnt make a good phone for a long time,and the M75 isnt any good,the rubber is peeling off,and the OS isn't stable even with the last version... nokia is made from steel and rubber,which is a very good combination,plus its running on symbian...so i see it as a much better phone. even if nokia copied siemens.....they did a great job. companies copy each other,and that isn't really a bad thing...sometimes the copy is better than the original.

yes you have to download a autolock software but it works perfectly. PDF viewer comes on the memory card on the box but its hard to read anything with a PDF on this screen

the only thing the 6233 has over this is 3G and bigger screen. the music player on the 5500 is the same as the 3250. camera is the same on both. this phone is symbian you can do way more with it than the 6233 5300 looks like a glorified 6111

If keypad gets loose take yor phone back to the shop you have bought the phone and they will change the keypad & metal chassis at the same time without charge. (for free, I mean=))Maybe the first phones manufactured had some material problems?

@ChrisG4 You're totally right friend. I think until now SE K750 is the best buy phone if we look at the feature that it has and the money that we spend. The only weakness is the joystick, but if you use gently, there is no problem.

The phone comes complete with underwater case Ive found this to be most useful as im able to clip it to my wetsuit!I also have an underwater charger that lets my phone charge on passing sea currents! like a mini tidal generator means i have unlimited power for my phone! I am however having less luck finding a blurtooth headset thats lasts underwater! Hey guys...i am using this phone for about 2 months and so far i am very pleased with it...though ive got only 2 botherin issues : low volume of the headset and the batt life . For the first one ive bought one pair of Nokia 3250 headset and now im listening my music the way i always want to... As for the battery life, after a few 12 hours charging cycles , it will become a decent one -I mean 3 days of, mainly, talkin- for 'bout 30 min per day,some sms - not much, i am not such a fan, and , of course, music for about 30 min a day... i dont know if there will be another man content with that but i love now my little finn...

the 5500 sport rocks!!it's a great phone.it does anything you want(except makeing you coffee :) ).the thing that you can control the musik player by just tapping on the phones sides and the sport app that shows you how fast are ya runnin and the distance you're travelled makes it one sick phone. also it's resistant to shocks,dust and water (just don't take it for a swim :P ). thumbs up for this phone.

How can you rate that batt as better than SE phones. I have a W800 and I listen to mp3 around 2hrs a day and get at least 5 days out of the battery. Much better than what you describe for the 5500

For all those who are interested in the batt life. Sad to say, compare to my 3250, the 5500 somewhat loses out. I can only squeeze out 2 days of usage at best, with 2 hours of MP3 per day plus some phone usage and I am being very optimistic. My 3250 could squeeze out 10 hrs of MP3 over 3 days. But for those who dun care about MP3 and radio, u can get 3-4 days of usage. But would still rate the batt life as better than the SE phones when it comes to music play. Another disappointment, although the 5500 seems to have the same player as the 3250, the same cannot be said about the volume. With the same EQ setup on both phones, the 5500 pales in comparison to the 3250 in volume. These are the only to quips I have with the phone. Everything else, features, build are kick ass. If u can live with the batt and soft volume I would recommend this phone.

Got one fantastic phone, better than a n70 and n80, durable and has all series 60 features you would expect and more, listen to your texts read out to you, when phone rings says name you have put in for that person, gps tracking software included(gps needed).etc. small and great, not big and bulky like all nokia lately. Only downside is internal memory is 11mb not 64mb as stated.

It surprizes me a lot: compact, good cam, anti-shock parts (when it felt down, it sounded like a potato and everything was in place) , flashlight (I use very often), MP3 player with a superb rate quality / volume and easy to use (turn on/off and changing tracks by gently hiting the phone), the list-making feature, nice sound settings, copy-paste for any user edited text, lots of fields that can be inserted to contacts, voice comand, a beautiful activity log list for 30 days (data, sms, voice, sent and received and details to each), a confortable "jog" (5 way key). And I can personalize the menu to make it more accesible. It's so flexible !! It's a sport oriented phone ; it means that even if it has lots of features, those are so easy and accesible for use! What I'd like to have at this phone is a better communication phone-SIMcard (for contacts and sms); but lately, the storage is made to the memory card, wich is more flexible, easyer to copy and to backup the information. PS: the charger cupling has changed.

I Work for CPW and had the Nokia Rep in today.. managed to play around with this phone and i must say i am impressed.. i thought it was going to be *&*&% just like the other robust phones but this is way more exciting.. it has MP3 player, Pedometer, all your health stats, bluetooth, Speech Text (this i love - and sounds like steven hawkings.. hahaha) plus loads more.. when using MP3 player you double tap the screen and it plays/stops the music, when playing music if you tap the left and right sides of the handset it skips to next track or skips back a track.. absolute geniuss from nokia, i would like to see this technology in other future handsets..

RE: Music player. It's a reasonable player, but its not an ipod (or other dedicated music player) i use about 3 hrs of music a day + normal phone use and charge it every night. Works well for me.

I bought this phone yesterday and sold it today with a 10% loss. I just wanted to get rid of it in any way. It looks very nice and feels good in the hand and in the pocket, but it is very uncomfortable when writing a message or using the calculator. The colors are not vivid as in nowadays phones. What happened to NOKIA? I still have the Nokia 6100 which functions very good in all ways. It seems that when all the manufacturers are improving, NOKIA is going backwards. The phones are becoming bigger and the keys are becoming smaller and smaller.

ntQp: The battery lasts, i don't know, maybe 3 days in my normal use. Difficult to say what is a "general" normal use. I can live with battery without problems. Display is accurate and screensaver seems to increase battery time a lot. I do not use this for WebBrowsing or smg like that. The keypad is great and easy to use (after a short period of learning of course). Very nice in hand and I mean very nice=) The HF-speaker tone is good also. The pictures are "just OK" because lack of better optics. The flashlight is useful because it is not a small beam but wider which is useful in normal situations. I recommend this phone. The design looks hmmmm "different" when compared to fold-phones but I think that it should not be compared=) So many applications installed that i will not list them here=) (I don't use them that much) And may I say it again... this is a Durable Phone and it has what it takes to be a true Classic.

Here in Finland it costs about 300 euros. I personally think that that�s a very good deal for a Symbian phone, and the fact that it�s supposed to be able to tolerate some punishment only makes the deal better. I assume that the camera will be average, like the 6270 and 6280. The UI will most likely be relatively slow as it�s Symbian, but otherwise the features are nice... Thinks it�s gonna sell well...

I think what's lacking with the 5500 is 3G. Why can't Nokia simply put everything on the latest models? If I were to buy a new phone, I will now have a difficulty in choosing. If 3G was present then this is the best so far. But that's just my opinion. Overall, this phone ROCKS!!!

What are nokia thinking. Nokia just seem to be loosing the plot. Nokia have somehow made an absolutly usless phone worse. This is meant to be a workmans phone, Nokia might as well have painted it pink and put a flower on it. They got the idea by putting BT in it, but other then that very disapointed. If you are going to the gym to work out, the male shower block will clear straight away if they see you walk in the shower block with this bit of junk.

The features that I really need from 5140 is SPL meter & Compass, that makes 5140 unreplaceable with something else. And now Nokia came aout with 5500 models that doesnt have that features... i need to kno if there is feature that makes a fone just vibrate from 9:30 am to 6 pm and then change to ring mode. i mean to keep it silent+vibrate between offfice hours. this is similar to Samsung functionality of having the morning alarm off on weekends and then back on weekdays, so that we can get some seep on sat and sundays.

Yes this yellow/silver pattern is not very nice, but the black/silver is pretty good. Then again i dont care much about the look of the phone and i am must interested in its functions. So a simbian and shock/dust/splash proof is a combination i have been loking for a long time ago. I would be nice if it was fully water-proff like the old Nokia 6250 and Ericsson R310 but this is good too.
