  • wow! nice phone!

  • wen calling it's giving me active transfer but i don't know how to do it

  • It looks like a bug!! The "silence" message always comes up even when it's working - I guess it's so that you can shut the ring up when it's ringing. I fixed it by removing the battery for a few seconds - it worked on mine without losing any setting/numbers as they are stored on the SIM.

  • Can anybody indicate the electrical meaning of the socket pins? I lost the charger and wand to connect a different one.

  • It's a great phone to have but how do I download more ringtones and draught tones to my VS1? Thanks

  • ugly looking phone.

  • the phone has no games and it can't download but it is wonderful

  • If you want a no-nonsense, no-frills, user-friendly PHONE which allows you to make calls and send text messages, then get your hands on one of these. If you want something to play games, listen to music, send emails, organise your life, make coffee and perhaps do the dishes if the battery lasts, look elsewhere!

  • when the phone rings it show silence on the screen

  • i dont like this phone because it doesnt have any games.or bluetooth, infrared, and 4mb. but the usb is great. its a ok fone From Mohammad

  • Very Nice phone! But the Ringtones for mine is 10 channels instead of the 16 specified! What could be the problem?

  • Am unable to source a new battery. My VS1 needs charging every three days without use. If I make a call it flats the battery. From new at Christmas 2006, it would not hold a charge for more than four days. Not a great success.

  • I am looking for a copy of an english version of the user manual for my mother in Spain. Can anyone email me a copy? I have tried the manual download but it don't work :~( Regards Mystic

  • Use the up and down arrows on the volume key which is on the right-hand side of the phone. There are four settings: Silent, Vibrate, Normal and Loud.

  • I have the same problem as another person, hope someone can help. Have somehow managed to turn the ring tone volume off, even though it says "Loud" on the screen and the level is on 6 in the settings. The phone will ring (but not sound)and if you're looking at it, the name & number comes up with a green "Silent" box on bottom right. I have called Vodafone & what they told me to do I had already done but still it won't make a ringing noise when someone calls & says Silent!

  • the phone is good, but no gprs access as stipulated in the features.pls work on and the ring tone should be increase also a way to download tones.

  • This is a great mobile for anyone who wants a simple fone, however whenever I try to send a message the fone tells me the memory is full, when I then try to clear the fones text memory it continues to tell me it is full when i then send another text, any ideas?

  • this is a real bag o spanners. its not simple and you need to be simple tpo buy it! Its also as big as a house!

  • Anyone know how to add more ringtones? Have Com port cable that fits and handset manager for myx6 and myx1 cant find anything for this one. Any suggestions - dear old mom can't hear the phone ringing so it really defeats the purpose of her having a mobile.

  • When I call an automated service such as the provider's voice mail, and the service requires touch-tone controls (such as "for a list of your messages, press 1"), this handset doesn't seem to be sending any. I once had a Siemens where I had to turn the controls on as an option, but here it's not on the menu. Any hints? Thanks, Leszek.

  • I recently acquired a Vodaphone Simply Sagem VS2. I keep being told the txt memory is full and accordingly i click on the screen to indicate clear memory. About an hour later all address book logs say they are empty. The very next new txt I receive I am again told the memory is full. Is there some way of clearing the memory other than the above. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Have somehow managed to turn the ring tone volume off, even though it says "Loud" on the screen and the level is on 6 in the settings. The phone will ring and if you're looking at it, the name & number comes up with a green "Silence" box on bottom right. If i try to choose another ring tone the sample sounds dont come up either. Call at Vodafone Help didnt know. Any ideas? Thanks1

  • can anybody tell me if you can increase the volume for the text tone or change it to a better or longer tone my mother cant hear it and she is 300 miles away ?

  • Long shot here but wondering if anyone can help me - recently bought the Sagem Simply phone for my elderly mum. She has somehow managed to change the language settings and is not getting 'gobbledigook' instead of English. I am 200 miles away and nowhere near a handset - can someone please advise what she needs to do - in very simple terms - to get it back into English and I will pass on. Many thanks and Happy new year. Will !!

  • I recently bought a Sagem VS-1 (also known as Sagem Simply) for my mother. Like anything else in this world, it has its pros and cons. The fact that I write more about the downsides than about the advantages is evidence of my grumpy nature and not of the quality of the handset. *** The pros: *The* huge advantage of this phone is its big screen with large clear black characters on a uniform white background. Designed for reading, not for artistic contemplation. Key locking by means of a switch that physically moves into an "on" or "off" position. This is much more senior-friendly than most other phones, which use a combination of pushbuttons that changes a status signalled by an LCD icon. Locking and unlocking the keys is additionally signalled by an intuitively clear change in screen appearance. Most buttons are clearly spaced apart. Not all though this is one of the cons below. One reassuring home button can get you out of whichever corner of the menu structure you have painted yourself into. This home and Phonebook buttons are easy to locate and identify. *** The cons: The markings on most buttons are a disappointment. The buttons themselves are shiny greyish silver, and the characters and symbols are shiny pale green. To make things worse, they are not nearly as big as they might on a handset this size. The bottom line is that they are hardly visible even to a young and healthy eyesight. The hello and good-bye buttons only carry tiny green and red marks, respectively. In my opinion, they ought to be entirely made of green and red plastic. The backlight only helps in total darkness, not in the gentle diffuse light so typical of many elderly peoples homes. The two menu keys (the ones just under the screen and whose functions are indicated on the display) are placed confusingly close to the hello and good-bye buttons, almost merging with them. The visual and tactile clues that should help you tell them apart are very subtle. If you type a long number (as phone numbers nowadays are), the character size suddenly shrinks to fit the number into the width of the screen. Why cant it just split into two or more lines? The Settings menu and the Log (a _very_ comprehensive concept on this phone) are each accessible by a single button. This leads to confusion if either button is pressed by mistake. Normally, neither the Settings nor the Log will be used very often, and in my opinion should be stowed somewhere out of harms way. The top entry in the Phonebook is Add new contact. Again, it is easy to select it by mistake and get confused. The charging cradle is a bad joke. It does not properly hold the plug of the charger cable, so when you push the phone into the cradle and onto the plug you push the plug out through the cradles bottom. The cradle is also too light compared to the rigidity of the cable, the weight of the handset, and the tight fit of the plug. You try to lift the phone and the cradle comes up with it.

  • Hi. I have a new segam VS1 and would be obliged if anyone out there can tell me how I can down load a new ring tone. It only has 5 and they are awfull. Regards john.

  • The number is changeable on the front display. You go to Settings -> Privacy -> Display my Number... Then you go from there to change it. This is a great phone for those who want something basic, with big buttons and a large screen.

  • Got phone out of box. First thing it asks on start up is for user to key in the phone number. Didn't know number at that time. Rang 192 to find out number. The display on my phone (of own number) now reads 192. And is apparantly unchangeable (?) No instructions for how to change this to the real number now we found it out. Its v strange that this display is unchangeable. And its very strange that the phone asks the user for the number, when the number is obviously available to the phone's own software (choose Settings->Vodaphone->My Number)

  • looks to be simple and easy, appearance is a little wierd, but nonetheless a good starter phone. speakerphone and polyphonic more than enough for targeted age group. sells for $149 here in australia with vodafone prepaid.

  • Does just what it says on the box, nothing more nothing less, easy to hold and use and ideal for those of us who just want to send and recieve calls and the odd text. simple, short instuctions which you don't really need anyway as can be familiar with all features within hours from the help screen, best "phone" I have ever owned.

  • I haven't figured how to send one text to many yet and it looks like you can't. Simple yes, but stupid, no! Will try to exchange it for another asap.

  • simply simple easy straight.still have to show older people how to use it. nokia 1100 easier to use. too many buttons for a easy to use phone older people like less buttons. expensive too.

  • This sells for $249 on Vodafone prepaid (in australia). It is a simple phone, for those kinda people who want a simple phone. What i dont get is the price. Maybe less is more these days.....

  • Set for release in Australia on October 4th

  • This Phone certainly is different. I have been woking with this phone for some time and its main gola of being a simple phone seems to have been ruined. The phoen itself is actually complicated if you are used to any other phone! but good if its your first ever mobile phone. My advice - Buy the nokia 1100. Now thats simple (and cheap).

  • Best phone ever! Nice and simple with BIG buttons oh yes I love this phone. Why don't you kids get a life and realise you dont need cameras or this bluetooth thingamy-bob.

  • I have just received my VS1, I wanted something simple with bigger buttons - a sort of reaction against my Sony Ericsson K700i which kept breaking. It's ok but how do you import a plain and simple ring ring like i have on my old phones and on my PC? There are only 5 options for ringtone installed and no apparent methods to import. Anybody got any ideas?

  • hello, my opinion about the phone is that the phone its so good i like it so much even i just feel as if i should have one of it but the only probloem is that i dont have money. wow this phone is love continue make this type your customar will like it so keep on. i am Akeem from nigeria

  • ahh, looks like a stretched motorola c300!

  • whats so great about this phone? is it designed for begginners or something? thanks

  • Does anyone know where I can get an English manual - my father purchased one in Spain and instructions are in Spanish - thank you

  • What a... It looks strange.

  • A nice easy to use phone. The way things used to be when I was young.

  • It's not a classic mobile Phone. It's a mobile for old personn

  • Great idea if you have a mother like mine!!! ha ha

  • Released on Vf Contract today.
