GT N8000 is a good tablet had it at lunch in Nigeria since 2012 though was looking for tab 8.9 which was banned in europe and discontinued. serves as a back up phone, strong battery that last and can watch up to 3 movies, not much network hazzles like I-pad, good display and is still serving 7 years later. just be mindful of your data/charge cable as it sometimes cut inside and your pad would not charge, also any charger below 2mah will not charge it with the white thurnberbolt sign instead a red X will show on charging meaning it is not charging.

You may want to flash Android Revolution HD 21.0 custom rom, it is Kitkat based Touchwiz with more custom feature. Works like a charm with almost no lag and have a good multitasking power than any other roms.

It's not upgradable to android kit kat,mine is androind jelly bean and it says that it has the latest update. By the way it is so old but its still awesome,i wish i could know what could've been capable of when i was a kid. It does freezes a lot! Just press off then on and it will continue,if not just repeat. I still love it. The battery is still bad. You can open apps in floating windows like Samsung dex but it will lag because it has 1.9 GB of RAM. And not all apps support the floating window.

You can update these to Android 4.42 only. If you root the tab and install a custom ROM you could probably get android 7. Don't do this unless you know at least a bit about custom recovery' flashing firmware via Odin etc. If you want to learn, go over to XDA developers forum and we'll help you

You need to leave it on the charger for a good 48 hours make sure you dont turn it on while its on the charge also u need to make sure your charger cord & wall point adapter are a big charge for some reason an ordinary strength iphone or samsung ph one doesnt have enough when they go fully flat. U need one like rhe original one that come with it

" I gave it to Samsung service service and they fixed it after a month telling me that needed upgrading. This must be a nightmare for Samsung . I have mine now for 4 years over this time it became more and more insensitive to finger and the styles pen touch . Done a couple of factory resets but after a few days its back to its old problem . It loses it wifi connection often , copy and pasted does sometimes not work , etc, etc. Not worth the money .

I faced similar issue and restored stock ROM (4.0.1) from a local shop. The charging issue is stopped and it charges fully in 3 hrs. Discharging comes for continuous 9 hrs. roughly. But the issue I face is the idle time life. It drains quickly if it is turned on and idle.

I ended up selling my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 tablet I had to a friend, as I didn't need it anymore and I believe the Note 10.1 tablet is far better than the Tab 4. I mostly use my Note 10.1 to draw and color and the S-Pen just helps make that a whole lot better and I definitely enjoy it more on the Note than the Tab 4, as with it I had to use a large rubber tip stylus to do my drawings and color. If software problem you must wipe data on your device and insert new one... The software problem may happen because virua from the apps that you instaled on your device... If you insert a too small sim card you can recover the problem. There is a YouTube video on how to remove using a sliver of a credit card and super glue. I had same problem and was able to remove successfully

The tablet's screen is good despite the relatively low pixel density (by 2015 standards) but the battery software is faulty. I let my tablet run down to 0% and when I tried to recharge it reported 0% no matter what I did. I discovered later that there was a software error in the battery software (driver or some other component) that made it report 0% even when the battery was fully charged. I had to open the tablet's back panel and disconnect the bettery then reconnect it after waiting for a couple of minutes, Samsung needs to correct the error and sent out a patch to Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8000) owners.

Whatsapp is a phone app and you need to have a sim card registered in it. There is a way around it by downloading the apk from the web instead of play store but you can only have the 1 acct linked to 1 device at a time.

I have this product for over a year now. I have been using it in various ways and it was very beneficial. First thing I am posting how I used it, then post pros and cons from my perspective as encountered according to my usage come afterwards. That should help have a complete picture. How I used it: ---------------------- 1. In taking notes on lectures and tutorials using SNote. 2. In the lab. I took photos and commented on the photos using SNote. 3. In solving and delivering sheets. I solved sheets problems and delivered them whenever required using SNote by exporting them to pdf. 4. In syncing contacts and calendar. 5. In capturing thoughts using SNote. 6. In studying, using any pdf editor (Spen was very handy). 7. In having fun by watching cartoon and anime either offline or online. 8. Being social by staying in contact with friends on facebook, google+ and other social media. 9. Replying to mails and commenting on facebook using handwriting. Basically, I almost used this product in every aspect of my life. I cannot live now without it... probably! Pros: --------- 1. It's a powerful device. The processing power and the RAM usage where great from my usage perspective. That is, I didn't try to play heavy games. Keep that in mind. I am very satisfied with its performance. 2. SPen along with SNote are amazingly powerful tools that made my life much easier. I really made the best out of those tools. You have an infinite number of pages (since they are virtual pages). Moreover, the weight of your bag won't increase whenever you add a page. You won't be carrying white pages; since you are creating a new page whenever required. And above all, your stuff are always with you whenever you go anywhere. Cons: --------- 1. Sometimes SNote hangs and closes before saving. So, it's a good habit to regularly save changes. This didn't happen except about 10 times throughout a year; it's within an acceptable range. 2. When you write using SPen fast (as if you were writing on a real paper), sometimes you'll get unwanted zigzags or unwanted line after you move your pen up. For better understanding, let's assume that we are trying to write "faster" on SNote (or any other application in which you are using your spen) quickly and without moving your pen up from the time you start with "f" till you finish the word with the last letter "r". You'll probably get "faster" with the "r" having some long curvy line that you didn't really draw yourself. That's something that needs to be fixed. But you'll get along with it! 3. You cannot make selection of what has been written. What has been written, has been written. You cannot select a letter or a word. Of course, I am talking when you are using spen free hand-writing, not the keyboard computer-writing. This has been fixed in the next upgrade of Android. 4. The multi-window feature is limited to applications, namely, snote, video player, Internet, gallery and Email applications. That is, you cannot deploy the feature for pdf application or gmail application. This is annoying. I think this has been fixed in the next upgrade. 5. No resizing while using multi-window feature. Any of the applications takes half of the window. I also think this is solved in 2014 edition. 6. No resizing for floating snote. This is fixed in the next upgrade of Android. That's all.

Reinstall Kies from Samsung, do not download kies 3. Once installed connect the tablet to your pic, once reconised it show show there is an update available. If this still doesn't work there is another way you can get the update but I'd have to put a much longer post on here to try and explain what you have to do.

yes. 100% agree for the kitkat as a downgrade. a 10" tab should not have the taskbar on top of the screen with the fullscreen notification that cover up the whole screen if u pull it down. the hown button should not be in the middle. this is a large tablet. not a small phone. yet the screen became smaller coz the taskbar taken the space on the top and the home button below. scrolling the brightness button is a joke when u pull down the notification bar. software update apps being disabled to prevent accidental update forever.

I updated my N8000 to KK , hoping new features and improved UI. Guess what , it did not look like an upgrade , it is a DOWNGRADE Sammy has made this KK update for the sake of giving the update. Multiwindow is screwed up with limiting to open only 2 windows at a time. Pull down the Notiifcation bar and you can see the quality of the update.The icons choosen are worst possible icons and the bar fills the whole screen making the screen look ugly. Guys... Please think very carefully and research before upgrading to 4.4.2. In my personal opinion it is infact a downgrade. A few things work better. But many features, such as multiwindow, allowed triggers on automateit app, become worse. Further there is no point of such a large notification panel. Finally, once you upgrade, you cannot downgrade or flash a new ROM. I am regretting that I upgraded my device, and I will gladly trade my 4.4.2 device with someone who's device still runs 4.1.2 ...

Probably you should try to buy new charger. Mine was like that too, then my friend gave me the Tab's charger which is compatible and I got my battery 100% charged in 3-4 hours only. I also bought a new one for n8000 and it works well too.

The multi - window is a bit of a down grade. Earlier in cascade mode you could open more than 2 Windows. Now you are limited to 2. Also calculator is not a multi-window app anymore.

The update received is around 800 MB and took 20 mins to install. After the update, there is a noticeable improvement in performance. As suggested in the replies below, the notification panel has gone up, and there are 3 touch icons below instead of 4. The UI response is really smooth. Added language support is cool. All in all, a very sweet update. I thought of selling my 2012 edition to buy 2014 one but I can hold on for long now. I did cut a ticket and asked them kitkat update tentative release date but they answered diplomatically saying they have no idea about the release. When I spoke to samsung malaysia yesturday, they told me that they are still in the R&D phase of 4.4.2 for n8000 and they cannot say a exact release date. In 4.1.2 release also it took about one month to other countries to recieve the update after german.

I m in middel east and i have android 4.1.2 I have charger heating problem too but its not a bad thing it for 7000mha battery of n8000 for cooling you can unplug and open the charger pieces and after few minutes connect it again /for fast drainnig battery problem you can clear the ram and root your device and stopnot needed apps on startup

same thing i do...unplug and let it cool then plug again. mine was just repaired by service center...i bought it here in KSA. when I brought it to the Philippines suddenly I cant open, service center told me that problem in motherboard..luckily still under warranty so didn't pay any amount.

yes, im also xperiencing that..what I do is, I dont charge it continuously. .after an hour, unplug the charger, then wait for the charger to cool down, about 20 mins if u r on a cool room..then plug it again..

It seems lot of people feel the same way that samsung is deliberately ignoring this model now and not making any upgrades thats why i thought of getting it myself by looking for a modified rom but even the developers seem do the same. I can only find a couple of modified roms in the net.both of which are a year old and are having bugs that up to now are not resolve meaning probably they stopped trying..unlike N7100 which has a lot, i made my note 2 to look and feel almost like a note 3 by rooting it. N8000 is a good device and maybe mine will remain in stock rom for as long as its working because there is no other choice..air command and air gesture function will fit this devicevery nicely..too bad.

samsung service center updated my OS to 4.1.2 last week after that I experienced this problem. - when I tried to watch video it will automatically shut-off and reboot. it will show distorted image of "SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2" only half of the screen (half black color and half is white screen) - i tried to hard reset by doing VOLUME UP + POWER, chose "wipe data / factory reset" and "delete user data". But is shows the same result/s - i did several times and SAMSUNG LOGO came out, and what happened next...it automatically shut-off/down again. Does anyone experience the same problem here?

U should go to my file Go in the extsdcard make folder, and rename as the type of file u want to move, if it movie file, make the folder name movie, and come out to the folder with sdcard and extsdcard and if u download movie, It will be in sdcard, in download folder, in movie folder, select the movie in the folder, choose cut, then choose the backward arrow till u come back in sdcard and extsdcard, then select extsdcard, then go to the movie which u create before, then select the paste option on the right top corner of ur tab. first thing u need to update ur note to 4.1.2 jelly bean {for many improvements} you need to know you dont have to transfer ur app to exsd because the insd is to big , i use the insd just for app(i downloaded more than 70 apps and still have a 5g free ) and i have the 64gb exsd for other things (doucment music .......). if u dont know how u can transfer ur data u need to use the file manager or any app like (solid explorer this is the best)if use this app u can transfer anything from int to ex.i advice u to download (boot browser for tablet)this is the best browser i was use it , with this brow u can change ur downl (from settings)directly to exsd and u can buy the {cardreader+hub} with this u can connect ur usbflash and ur mouse and keyboard and hard. enjoy.....:D

I am using this tab from last 5 months first you are comparing tablet with a phablet. phablet are good as in hand and you cant take it any where, like you cant carry tab with you. N8000 - great for taking notes, music, videos great, camera simply disgusting. Note 2 - great usability cam great and all video, music, etc but if your priority is taking notes and editing pdfs, and using it as a notebook as you are student, i recommend tab, coz on big screen its very helping but if you priorities music, videos, pics, cam etc then note2.

Stay away from the product! It has only Android 4.1.2 and S Note application isnt even compatible with newer S Note application. You will face that problem if you want to share S Note files. Dont waste your money to Samsung "premium" phones. Im guessing Samsung premium means nothing really... Even their own smartwatch, Gear, doesnt work with this one. Nice work Samsung, again!

Yes, you can use an OTG cable. Which would let you use a USB Flash drive, External HDD with power, 3G dongles. You would need to have Fat32 as the File System of Externally connected Storage devices.

I had a Samsung galaxy 7,7 and it was amazing in all areas, i changed it for a Samsung galaxy note 10.1, well this thing is also good but the color scheme and pictures are pathetic. The colors are lifeless and dead, were as on the 7,7 it was rich and realy felt alive. Everything else is very good, excellent product by far above other tablets , but only the color sucks.

With quad core, 1.4 Ghz and 2GB Ram yet the tablet perform too slow..Video quality is average and while watching movies online it takes long time to screen. TouchWiz software has so many issues sometimes back keys doesnt work even after 2-3 touch. Tab 2 10.1 is more powerful than this even having dual core and 1.00 ghz processor. Samsung could potentially offer some software updates that makes TouchWiz perform better, and it might improve the Note 10.1�s speed when it upgrades the tablet to Android latest ver., but that�s a long shot. From what we�ve seen in the past, Samsung doesn�t move very quickly with Android updates, and I haven�t seen TouchWiz performance get better over time on any other Samsung devices. Ultimately not satisfied with the device..

This is truly an amazing device, it works flawesly even when many heavy apps are running in the same time. Afther the Jelly Bean update is even more productive than before. I have it for 7 months of heavy daily usage and the battery is still as in the beginning. I just don't know why has not been updated to Jelly Bean 4.3 instead of 4.1.2 ? There are 2 types of screen protectors, matte and clear. The matte one is terrible, the resolution goes to trash. The clear is good, there is only a little difference from the original screen. The best option is to use without screen protector, but you have to know the risks of scratches. To stay protected use a clear screen protector.

All that is different between classes is the read/write speeds. Higher class = higher speed (and also a higher cost!) However HD video recording (on devices such as S3, Note 2 etc) requires at least class 4 and an even higher class would be recommended for taking still photos while recording Full HD video. For simple storage of files etc, any class will work.

I am not an IT expert but for practical reason just wonder why do you need to access the internet on your Note 10.1 when you already have your desktop computer? Note 10.1 is a mobile gadget, all you need is a Wi-Fi connection or data plan to connect to the internet. Or you can convert your LAN to WLAN to have a wireless connection to your Note 10.1

I am not sure about 1TB HD as it supports up to 64GB only of microSD. Yes you can use the S-pen to type and send SMS. Much more not just type, you can even use it to write your SMS and send it. Yes there is available connector to HDMI of smart TV sold separately.

Dear Kumar, Yes you can connect it to a 1TB Hard Disk VIA USB Host which isnt included in the package. You need to buy it. S Pen can type as they're just like normal Stylus Pens today. S pen is just like your finger but only more accurate and plastic. As far as I know, Smart TVs don't need HDMI to connect to any Samsung tablets as they have Bluetooth enabled.

Hi, I have this device from last two weeks, here is my small review - I was afraid of the ppi people talking about here, but after using, it is not that bad - Games work great, currently playing NFS most wanted and other temple run etc - Main feature of the tab which is S Pen, which is great - Sound is good on loud speakers, great on headphone with its equalizers - Installed 100s of apps n games, and it doesn't lag, blessing of the samsung with 2gb RAM - Battery lasts one day with playing hd games, browsing, music etc all day, normal use 2 days If anyone have a question, u can ask me

If the device hung up, long press the power button and wait until it shuts down. If you want to replace the battery, bring it to authorized Samsung service center. But I don't think its battery will wear out in a short period of time.

You can plug it to the charger the whole night while asleep so that you can have a full day of fun with it. It has a mechanism that will not allow the battery to overcharge. Once the battery is full charged, if you can notice, the lightning on the battery icon disappear. It means the charging was blocked by the unit to prevent damaging the battery.

Ok then just kidding, you can use it while charging. It doesn't happen to me that the screen gets less responsive while charging. The red X on the battery icon when you connect it to laptop means that the connection with your laptop does not support charging the unit but you can transfer files and browse the contents of your unit.

try this, when ever you don't use your Gnote, turn off mobile data/wifi, clear memory in task manager and often use empty homescreen .. Always minimize the screen brightness or use automatic brightness. screen consume alot of power so if you dont use it, turn off the screen display...

Yep. Galaxy note can really work as a laptop. Almost everything that a laptop can do can work for the note too.. just had a note for two days and all i can say is i wont need a laptop anymore. You can watch movies, browse the net, take notes, even edit photos almost like a pro with Adobe Photoshop Touch, edit and view files, and play lot of games. What's good about it is that you can browse the net while watching a movie or taking notes or those three at the same time thanks to its quad core processor and 2Gb worth of ram. Another good thing about it is that it has longer battery life than any laptops. I really enjoyed my note right now. No regrets. So far.

I updated my Note 10.1 to JB 4.1.2 and suddenly stopped charging using the stock wall charger. Everytime I tried plugging it in, it does not charge the unit. Instead of charging, it drains the battery even futher but you would see that the battery icon is charging. Wheni totally drained the battery, its no longer charging at all. Any help?

Guys, As per every pcs price, starting is three times. Now words abt N8000 its nothing extra even after update to 4.1.2 no difference except mental. Specs 2 gb ram good but ppi149 is under par. No amoled display and cam pics are below par. Last thing fr Chinese note books tremendous have same size specs ad hardware. But Price is too reasonable, just fr logo or name sake we pay three times actual price. This is very unreasonable. Now Sammy inounced note 3 same specs with amoled screen and 300ppi, which was needed. Here you go sell this at half price buy at new price costing u 896 $ abnoctious.

All those asking I pad vs 10.1 questions, 99% 10.1. the 1% is for those who only use tablets for appreciating the screen resolution or for outdoor visibility. And yes, You can connect a pen drive, a.k.a flash disk, USB keyboard, USB mouse through a USB adapter. You can in fact connect a USB hub to run all these devices at once or a wireless USB adapter. You can also make normal voice calls and use the secondary camera for video calls. The infrared is superb. Now, lets see what this Jellybean thing can do for my already awesome note 10.1 - Victor Ng'ani.

Hi Friend Just now I upgrade my note N8000 from ICS . to 4.1.2 JB and it was superb I get it from OTA after the upgrade it Wins fast and smooth the benchmark.before is 5342 how it gives me 6131 and Im very happy with the S-pen it works well I used it a most of.the time . So it I where u better upgrade it . to feet the big difference it willmake u easy to use it. This tab is nothing compared to expensive ipad this tablet is for a professionals like me I used it most of the timesince I works in a medical fields as a service engr. Of medical equipments in hospital I carry it with my schematic and service manuals on it. I never bring my laptop anymore since everything in my laptop is here in this tablet. Ipad is for small boys fun of games and watching movies only. So I think ipad is toys for the small boys while note 10.1 is toys for the big professional man.

About the Flash... I installed the last version for Android 4.x from Adobe website. It´s very easy and solve all problems. With this app installed (flash player) you just have to choose another browser (I use Dolphin Browser). Just go to this instruction and follow this:

well ... recently adobe doesnt support the tablets or the ipad devices to view any flash content and even if u downloaded the latest version of the flash player from the play store (google store) or the app store w cant view any flash content ... but dont worry its not a big issue .. u can download an application calle puffin browser and this browser will enable you to view any freaking flash content exactly like u are on your desktop or your laptop ... works very fine for me .. i have the samsung galaxy note 10.1 and the iphone 4s and works fine for both ... problem solved !! ;)

well .. adobe doesnt support the tablets or the ipad devices so if you want to watch any flash content from your browser u wont and u will find that ur device doesnt support the flash player even if u download the latest version of flash player from the app store or the play store (google store) ..... but dont worry u do can watch flash conten by easily downloading a browser called puffin browser and u can view any freaking flash content .. its like u are on ur desktop or laptop ........ i have the samsung galaxy note 10.1 and iphone 4s and works fine for both of them ... i think the probles is solved ;)

Guys don't fear this un-removable battery issue. I dismantled the entire tablet removing the battery, motherboard and separating the screen from the outer glass and returned everything again. I am a trained Engineer but this can be done by anybody if you are careful.Therefore battery can be replaced quite easily. Don't do this when under warranty as you will void it but ponder this: Warranty on device 24 Months, Warranty on Battery 6 Months, Meaning you will pay for the battery cost within the warranty period. I don't think the battery can last two years under heavy use where you fully cycle the battery within 24 hours. This means around 700 cycles of full discharge/charge over two years. The battery will fail at around 500 cycles!!!!!

Note 10. You can you this device as a phone which lets you make calls and send text messages. The ipad mini needs a partner pc so that you can update it. The s pen is like a ballpen or pencil literally so you can writing on it to take notes and write whatever. :)

I can't stress this point enough. THIS TABLET HAS SUPPORT FOR COMMUNICATION! I can send texts, make phone and video calls from it! Please correct that! in my experience, if you have professional activities most part of you time I suggest choose Galaxy Note 10.1. On contrary, the tablet is not comfortable to carry out all the day (running, shopping, dinner outside, etc) at least one hand is occupied wiyh the tablet, while cellular phone you can put in your pocket.

As far as I know it doesn't have microsoft office but you can get other apps like Polaris office (it comes with all samsung android devices) or Kingsoft office (you can get it from google play for free) to edit your microsoft office files.
