Samsung Galaxy Tab S5e - User Reviews

  • Hello. I bought this tablet and to my surprise I found the sim card/Memory card tray has one side only open which the memory card...yet the sim card side is just blocked with plastic...which doesn't seem to be removable. Can anyone advise how to insert a sim card? Did I buy a wrong model with no sim, is there such a thing

  • Thanks a lot. I thought that it was a defect. Otherwise, the tablet is perfect for everyday tasks and even some gaming (mario kart tour runs fine), especially for its price range.

  • I think its normal amoled screen variation. Few amoled screens this size have perfect display uniformity.

  • Did anyone notice if the bottom right area of the screen is a little bit darker, especially if the blue light filter option is enabled? It is quite noticeable on my s5e tablet if the background is dark (i.e. when both night theme and blue light filter are on, if I enter the options menu, i can notice a significant difference at the bottom right area of the screen).

  • Spigen 9h on Amazon and iblason supcase very good for both s5e and s10e

  • Hi, did you check whether you new gadget Tab 5e can use with the S Pen ?

  • Just to say bye to apple and Samsung both have their flaws wish somebody else would bring out a tab to give these 2 a run for their money bye samsung but apple hello nokia or -????

  • Have you ever used this tablet or what! Dont pretend to be an samsung fan, you just an apple disguised fan

  • Try using an app on the play store called send anywhere and record your video on your phone as sending with that app is rather quick.

  • 64 bit it is written on the box

  • Message and call continuety or how you can connect it to a phone

  • Thank you

  • It's Android 9 (64-bit) API level 28.

  • Buy a tempered glass screen protector. I wouldn't trust manufacturer claims even if it's gorilla glass or another. Even iPhone 11 pro had a scratched screen issue so don't count on gorilla glass, dragontrail or whatever it has.

  • Not the processor but the system, it says on the android benchmark version of android

  • I bought S5e 2 days ago and I’m wondering if screen protector is requered. I typically don’t buy screen protectors but I couldn’t find if it has Gorilla glass or Dragontrail. Does the screen some kind of damage protection?

  • I don't think there are still 32-bit snapdragon processors. Qualcomm last produced 32-bit snapdragon SOC's in 2016. All new snapdragon SOC's from that year onwards have already been 64-bit.

  • Is the system 32 bit or 64 bit?

  • Anybody here getting the dark themed /night mode Playstore with black background instead of white? I was pleasantly surprised to see a dark themed Playstore this morning. My tab S5e is running Android 9 Pie and has been set by me on night mode from the day I bought it. Love the dark Playstore. First time I saw it today. And I thought only select Android 10 devices got previews of it. Turns out some Android 9 devices got it too.

  • Hi gsmarena this device has not led flash

  • Getting used to this and s10e trying for a month to see how I get on with both s5e and s10e this been my backup devices as main an ipad pro 11 and an iphone xr fed up with apple software bugs and updates iOS 13 a nightmare at moment I will see if I jump to samsung ! Also thinking of galaxy watch active 2 trio to try next month will see ?

  • Thank you, that’s brilliant. I’m trying to capture video for gait analysis in my clinic, which is new for me (and indoor lighting not great. Might be after dark, so then only using artificial light). I normally use a mobile phone when I take video, but In the clinic I was hoping to capture and show video quite quickly so would be much easier done on the same device - rather than transferring from one device to another. Thank you, on that advice I think I feel confident enough and I will go for the Samsung and if it doesn’t work well enough in poor light conditions I’ll just have get used to identifying when that will be likely and transfer from one device to another. Really helpful, thank you.

  • I mean ISO 400 (not ISO 40).

  • I normally don't use a 10.5" tablet to take videos because it's heavy and bulky, tiring your hands easily, making the video stabilization a nightmare. You'd be better off with using a smartphone for taking videos and stabilizing the phone with a gimbal for smooth, stable videos. However, since you asked about video quality, the tab S5e takes very good and detailed footage in daylight but in lower light levels, you lose details resulting to a softer footage which will not be good for fast action coverage. This is based on my experience with the default camera app on the tab S5e which has ZERO manual controls with everything in full auto (chosen by the camera). However, if you know your photography/videography basics, I'd suggest you download Open Camera app and use it instead of the default Samsung camera app. Open Camera is free with no ads. It has manual controls which Samsung decided to not include in the default video recording app. In low light, use Open camera app with Camera2Api enabled so you can select an ISO setting and adjust white balance an exposure (which the built in app cannot do) I suggest to not go higher than ISO 40 while ensuring shutter speed is no faster than 1/30s. Frame rate should be no more than 30fps in low light and even 24fps for lower light still, for better video quality. It will produce much better lower light videos quality than the default 'full-auto only' camera app.

  • Does anyone have an opinion on this (or cheaper Tab A) on capturing video in lowish light conditions inside? Thanks

  • The king of tablets you mean? The inutile iPad that can't even expand internal storage up to 1 TB forcing you to buy higher storage at obscene prices? The dumb iPad with Wifi only that doesn't even have a screen that comes remotely close to the gorgeous Amoled display in this 'half the price' Samsung tablet with LTE? (An iPad with LTE costs insanely even more!) The jurassic iPad that doesn't even allow seamless file transfers and file sharing to and from Windows PC's and many other accessories, thumb drives, external store and peripheral devices? You are proud of the overkill, (largely superfluous for 99% of tablet users) ultrafast bionic processor equipped iPad that doesn't even offer a superb multimedia experience with AKG tuned, Dolby Atmos sound quality from four, yes, that's f-o-u-r high quality speakers? The iPad you say that doesn't even allow the simplest of customizations and flexibility like the Samsung tab's DEX mode or an equivalent desktop mode with multiple windows open for true multitasking and productivity? An iPad that can't even wirelessly mirror its screen to smart TV's without resorting to a wired dongle or an overpriced Apple TV accessory? Please do more research next time. A super powerful processor that is locked up in a jurassic, restrictive and suffocating system called a 'walled garden' which actually is more like a walled prison is just that: A worthless piece of junk meant for just bragging rights and for kids. Only 1% of iPad users actually do some productivity work on it, but still 99% of the time its for media consumption, which gives you a truly inferior experience compared to this cheap Samsung tablet that costs less than half the iPad Pro.

  • Reported by a Samsung worker... You just lying shamelesly, even iPad Air 2 may easily destroy this crap. You are comparing this huge calculator with iPad Pro, which kills Tab S6 by any means. As an Note 9 owner, I hate Apple products and never used any of them but dude... iPad is undisputed king of Tablets. And if you call 400 euro is cheap for this, you certainly work for Samsung.

  • Just bought this tab and dont regret it at all. Smooth all the way. Great value for money!!!

  • I mean Application performance class - A2 and Video performance class - V30. The traditional classification scheme: Class 2, Class 4, Class 8 and Class 10 are no longer used.

  • I don't have your lag issues. Maybe because I use fingerprint unlock. The tablet itself is very smooth and responsive. Check that your Power mode is not set on to 'Maximum power saving'. Have it set to 'Optimized' or disabled altogether. You can also go to Settings - Apps (tap three dots at the upper right) - Special Access - Optimize Battery Usage. Tap 'Apps not Optimized' and tap 'All'. Turn off optimization for each app you don't want throttled/slowed down to save battery. You can turn off EVERYTHING for the most fluid user experience (more fluid than Apple's iOS). Also, on the same 'Special Access' menu, Disable 'Appear on Top' for apps that don't want to have a screen overlay. For a start, you can disable/turn it off for all apps then turn on only when the app asks for that permission. If you are using micro sd storage, make sure it is at least Class 2, V30 and bought from reputable sources as cheap fake ones cause lagginess and other problems in an otherwise snappy tablet.

  • One more thing: No Wi-Fi signal problem at all with this tab. All reports and YouTube videos you see of it, if it really does exist are HUGELY exaggerated. I've noticed on mine a noticeable Wi-Fi signal reduction only when I'm separated by the Wi-Fi hotspot with a thick wall (in another room) and only more than 20 ft away and only when I tightly cover the wifi antenna portion tightly with my hand vs. normally handling it with both hands. It's seriously a non-issue anything you read about it as being a huge issue is more often than not, a placebo effect or just plain OC-ness. If you're at all concerned, just buy the LTE version or move closer than 20ft to the hotspot/wifi source or upgrade your router. Really, it shouldn't be so big an issue IF IT ACTUALLY EXISTED. Now my REAL ISSUE with the tablet has more to do with the nasty color shift and screen burn in/longevity of Amoled displays vs. IPS. Also, IPS looks noticeably sharper than Amoled for the same screen resolution and doesn't have the nasty color shifts on white backgrounds (from yellowish or pinkish white to bluish or greenish white) upon tilting of the display forward-backward or left-right. VERY FEW Amoled displays have negligible or very little color shifts. Majority have noticeable color shifts which many people adjust to in a while. As for mine, I have to tweak the tablet color settings from the default factory settings to reduce the color shift to something I don't notice anymore (it's still there but it already matches the most uniform amoled panels out there which I've read is less than 20% for phones and likely even less for big screen tablets). Anyway, my settings to avoid noticing the color shift on white backgrounds in my tab S5e are as follows: Screen mode: Adaptive display. White balance: full to the right - 100% warm. Advanced settings: Red: 0%, Green: 100% Blue:100%. You may try different settings in your tab s5e using these settings as baseline. YMMV.

  • The best android tablet right now. Much better than the cheapest iPad Pro for half the price or even less than half. Loud, excellent quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, beautiful Amoled display, long battery life, accepts 1 TB micro sd cards, Widevine L1 certified so offline movie downloads get played at full HD. DEX mode is excellent too! Tablet allows both wired and wireless connections to smart TV. Just use DEX mode if you use wired connection for sending video out from Netflix offline download to TV so video doesn't get resized (common problem when device is at an aspect ratio other than the TV standard of 16:9). A word of warning for Google Play Movie users: For wireless mirroring of Google Play Movies, don't update the tablet's built in Google Play Movies app. The newest Google play movie app version disables wireless screen sharing and also disables wired screen sharing so that you will be forced to buy a Chromecast. If you have accidentally updated Google Play Movies app, just uninstall it and it should revert back to the older factory version. Disable auto update to avoid Playstore from updating automatically your Google Play Movies app and other apps. (You can manually update the other apps).

  • Needs resetting especially after charging

  • Just Recently bought a Tab S5E, I don't understand why it's very difficult to unlock this device, it lags before you can swipe a pattern, any body experiencing this as well? Very disappointed with this Tablet, very laggy tablet...

  • Does the LTE version have the ability to make calls with 4G LTE besides internet access and how it works.

  • I guess you took this via online, because if you buy it in store you will never face this issue. If u taken it from lets say noon, amazon etc, the seller warranty is still applicable for a year, they may either repair or replace your tablet.

  • How come I have the same tablet and have no wifi issues at all. No matter where I travelled, wifi was perfect, uploaded tons of photos in google drive, the speed was perfect

  • you are apparently not able to check its wifi performance - which is poor

  • The tablet works well in standalone mode but, as evidenced by VERY MANY internet complaints, its WIFI reception (speed) is abysmal - I get only 72Mbps on 2.4Ghz and there are VERY MANY reports that the 5Ghz antenna is placed where most primates would put their fingers to hold the tablet - in landscape mode, which blocks reception of the 5Ghz signal, which in the best of situations has poor capability to propagate over long distances or physical obstacles such as walls. SAMSUNG has been promising a patch to fix these problems --- I wonder when, seeing they are already aggressively promoting the Note 10 and Galaxy TAB S6 --- (how do you move an antenna inside the case with a patch?)

  • I bet most of the "owners" are hired haters from competition. S5e is WONDERFUL product with great price. Just go to Apple Store, play with iPad Pro for a while, then go to Samsung store, play with S5e, then compare prices. Yes, iPad is twice the price for worse specs, except cpu. But if you don't run bitcoin miner, you dont need faster cpu. Rather longer battery life.

  • Like it 128gb LTE model have had it for 2 days it's an ok basic what you want to do device goes well with my s10e samsung excellent screen battery great and August update done recommend and s10e does the essential well

  • This is really a junk product and Samsung service is a nightmare. I bought one few days ago and after one day tried to update it, but it died in the middle of the update. The product was distributed by Samsung Bulgaria sold in the middle east. I took it to Samsung service center in Dubai to repair and they said it must be sent to Bulgaria by me to use warranty or I have to pay about 60% of the price for repair. Never buy any product from Samsung, never trust their service and I will never buy anymore any product of Samsung.

  • Just got this one, though LTE version, and tryed to take one of the 2 sims from my daily driver, a Huawei p8max 6.8" and put it over in the s5e..and sure, I could make calls like a big 10.5" handset.. though i dont get that waiting tone while the call are going thrue, but tryed to call my other sim-number left in p8max and it worked. I was trying to decipher is it has TypeC 3.1 (5gb) or 3.2 (10gb) some sites list the typeC as 3.2 (10GB) so tried to plug in some sata3 M.2 drives on USB-adapters and also a Thumbstick with both Fat part. and NFTS part. and it wont read the folders, just asking to wipe it..? other android phones like my Sony Tablet Z2 and my Huawei p8max has no problem in attaching drives like this thrue microUSB adapter (ofcourse only USB2 then) but why wont UI one read fat or NFTS drives?? are on developer status.??

  • Because of the call and message continuity. If you have a samsung phone running one ui, look out for the call and message continuity in settings. Once enabled you can make and receive calls via tablet which is routed through your smartphone over the internet.

  • The dailer and the message app are because of the continuity feature if you have an s10 or note 10 so you can make and recive phone calls and sms on the s5e if you have the s10 and note 10 connected

  • I love this tab with dex. I've the wifi version and it doesn't have the sim slot as expected then why they have the dial option in the phone app?

  • Some people are taking about how they can listen music while charging. ...? Solution is below

  • There are a few stylus pen that are compatible with the s5e

  • i know bluetooth mouse works not sure on wireless? I have a few videos on Dex on You Tube. Check them out.

  • Where did you get it for 300€?

  • Hi. I'm thinking of using this tablet as a laptop with DeX and that does anyone know if I can connect wireless headphones, wireless mouse and wireless keyboard at the same time??? Thanks.

  • I bought this tablet for travelling, viewing photos, light gaming and youtube/web. I am very happy about my choise, feel no need to upgrade to s4 or s6. The cpu is not super powerful but it's more than good enough

  • I bought it one month ago its amazing and I bought it for 300€ so it's cheap to the screen is gorgeous. I had Asus zenpad 3s10 .s5e is much better in every way good job Samsung

  • Totally, I've came from an iPad and I'd take this over an iPad any day!

  • I've just got this tablet DeX is built in

  • Gsmarena review of tab s5e is false. I now believe that gsmarena is a branch of apple . Tab s5e is a very good tablet . Please people don't take the review of gsmarena as anything . This is the best android tablet in the market hands down. I've been using coming from tab s.

  • I think tab s5e support samsung dex.

  • It ABSOLUTELY supports dex, ignore the guy below i have this tablet

  • Hi, does this model support OTG?

  • No, it doesn't support DeX

  • Hi currently I'm using Tab S8.4 (Rooted with Custom-ROM ) wanna replace with new Did Tab S5e support Dex. .? ThanX

  • Put in a headphone jack

  • No the Tab s5e does not support stylus, you need the Tab S4 or upcoming S6 for that.

  • Comparing $1000 tab to a $400 tab....WOW!! *slow claps*

  • Does this support a stylus for input? Like would it support the Apple pencil.

  • Yes you can.

  • does the wifi only model comes with vibration motor? mine has no vibration feedback option at all.

  • many without wifi issue, mean you're not helping at all, which also mean if you can't help stay away at least

  • Can it make phonecalls like a phone and send SMS. A reply from its user will be helpful.

  • Thank you Samsung but I prefer my iPad Pro 2018 11inch

  • Ok thanks samsung but i prefer mediapad m6 than this for only 260 euro

  • Just bought this tablet with the Samsung keyboard a week ago and no problem at all. Perfect tablet for my needs (entertainment).

  • I have had this tablet and the keyboard for 2 weeks and have had no troubles with the WiFi and I am using a mobile hotspot device. The tablet is really nice and I enjoy using Dex mode BUT the keys on the keyboard aren't configured properly. You type the apostrophe and get the

  • Great experience. Thanks Samsung

  • Same awesome experience! Samsung S52 rocks!

  • Sad to hear that. But mine has no problem with the wifi at all.

  • This tablet would've been so ideal if the wifi issue was non-existent. I swear, when I went to Best Buy and came across the tablet, I started to use it and when I placed my hand over the wifi card, within like 20 seconds the signal bars dropped and it was taking longer to load stuff even though it worked fine on the Best Buy wifi before. I hope that either they place the card more towards the middle on later iterations so that there's no hand obscuring the cars signal or they make it a couple of millimeters thicker cause that one design flaw was the deciding factor

  • I have had this tablet for about a month and have had no wifi issues whatsoever. The screen is absolutely amazing and the sound is just purely awesome. I get amazing battery life and it charges super quick. The screen is so bright that I normally don't have to pas 50% brightness. I would recommend buying the Samsung keyboard cover because it works great and feels super premium. Really happy I went with this one instead of the S4, the size is perfect.

  • Honest to goodness. Been using this tab for a month, and no wifi problem at all!

  • Oh Noo ! I have plans to buy this but reading these negative comments is a no no for me!

  • Watch out this model has a serious WiFi hardware issue. When the tablet is horizontal oriented the hand blocks the wifi antenna. It might not be noticeable if it is near the router but a little further away the wifi signal is gone.

  • I had the tab a 2018 and returned it. Wether I was scrolling some text or watching a movie, it always seemed to be blurry, especially when scrolling text. And it was true. This tablet has a ton of ghosting, and that's because the panel has a response time of 50ms. Compare this with any phone or even to the s5e, which has 4ms. I don't recomand the tab a 2018, but if you don't mind the ghosting, I guess it's a pretty good buy.

  • Hello, which budget tablet do you think is better? the Tab S5e or Tab A (T-590) 2018??

  • It might be because of your Internet speed

  • while playing FHD(1080p) video in youtube after Full screen its become blurred?any solutions for this problem??

  • Wrong, its not inevitable, screen burn will only happen if there is a static image for a long period of time, over the last 9 years or so I have never had any screen burn on any of my oled phones or tablets.

  • Got Samsung Note 5 for 4 yrs now, and no issue with the display. Happy with S5e. Sized up Super Amoled with long battery life! (dont need to charge everyday) Great experience! No plans of buying a new phone though. I want to be practical nowadays and dont want to spend each year for a new gadget. Basic messaging and call task, Note 5. Net browsing, Youtube, Facebook, Netflix, etc -S5e. \m/

  • You can make a call but only if you have one of the Galaxy S10 models.

  • Hopefully the 6gb variant is better for gaming. Not that a i game that much. Just ordered mine. Not a big upgrade from my Mi Pad4 - wanted a bigger screen while watching netflix youtube amazon in bed. Too bad its Emmc and not UFS storage. Snapdragon 710 would of been a way better choice for this table upper mid range tablet.

  • yes, for version SM-T725 (LTE)

  • Can we make a phone call with Tab s5e? Because I can make a phone call with my Tab s2. The price of Tab s5e is far more expensive than the version sold in Germany? Thank you in advance for the reply

  • Yes it will. Oled is bound to burn sooner or later no matter what you do. Its just the nature of Oled. But you can at least prolong the life by setting the brightness 25% or lower, dont use max brightness for long time. My mom is still using s6 from day 1 till now still no burn on the screen but the screen is a bit yellowish.

  • I have the Tab s5e & no screen burn, I Never had screen burn on any of my Oled/Amoled Samsung tablet or phone, in the last 9 years.

  • Thinking of buying this, one question. Does anyone get the screen burn like on the phones as its amoled?

  • I agree with all you said. I bought this because of the size, AMOLED display, battery size and the build quality (metallic back). I used to own IPAD mini in 2012 (coz it's metallic too), but IOS became slow after the update. S5e is way way better than my IPAD mini. Good buy!

  • tell me about your experience with office apps in this tablet

  • I'm owner of this device for two weeks now. Perfect display, no issues with wifi, however stronger CPU would be better than actually used Snapdragon 670 - from time to time there are some delays. But nowadays you don't have so much tabs to choose - this one is best when considering price vs. overall quality.

  • Love this tablet, but just a not Netflix does not support 1080p on this tablet & they wont replay to any communications on if or when they will do? Amazon prime does play full 1080p

  • Ya bro i too waiting for it to be released in india

  • Does it have rear camera flash? In pictures and reviews .. there is ni Flash seen in pi tures or videos .

  • When will this be released in India? If it'll ever be!!!! It's already freaking June!!!!

  • Awesome tablet for its price. I bought mine yesterday. Great to watch videos on Youtube and Netflix. Long battery life. Looks and feels premium. I had Ipad Mini in 2012, same build quality, but I gave the IPAd mini to my cousin when it became slow after the IOS update. Mine is black and it looks handsome! haha! I have just installed Defense Zone 3 HD, and it's really really awesome! Very nice gaming experience. Sound is very solid! no headphone jack is not an issue. You may buy bluetooth headphone. SImple! This is a winner.

  • I forgot to say. I had no problems at all with the WIFI connection. All is working fine. I wont say much about its camera. I dont intend to use it. I got a Sony Mirrorless camera that's rocking my photography life! \m/

  • I just bought one yesterday, and it exceeds my expectations. Awesome AMOLED display and battery life. You'll get satisfied using: Youtube, Netflix, Facebook, etc. If you have a phone with AMOLED display and u enjoy watching on Youtube and Netflix, just imagine this tablet is like 3 to 4x bigger with the same resolution. It is really satisfying. After 6 years, I started to install games again and I am enjoying it a lot. (Defense Zone 3 HD and Sky Force R.) The size of the tablet in general is very much fine. Not too big, not too small for a tablet. The build quality is nice too. It feels premium. I bought IPad mini in 2012. Build quality feels the same. Metallic and a little heavy, which I like. I gave my IPAD mini to my cousin coz when the IOS had been updated, it became very slow. The processor speed is ok. It's given when you opened a lot of apps all at the same time, it will slow down your system. So just make it simple, avoid doing that and your fine. The sound quality is great. With enough bass to make it sound more premium. Head phone jack is not a big deal for me even this tablet is lacking (becoz probably of their decision to make this tablet as thin as possible). You may buy a blue tooth headphone if you want anyway. Simple! Samsung S5e for $399 is a winner! I'm a Filipino expat working in Qatar by the way. Peace out!!

  • I wonder if this tablet will be a perfect replacement for my laptop that just died.

  • OneUi has dark theme built in. Yes you can have them now

  • So with this tablet Samsung FINALLY allows dark black themes on a large oled screen? Can someone confirm this please..

  • I have some WiFi problems as well when the signal is already weak. The latest update made it better but it's not a full fix. Otherwise this tablet is killer. Great all around, super light and extra thin. The headphone jack removal is a bit justified by the thickness. The USB-C port barely fits! Though that's going to be a legitimate dealbreaker for some.

  • No. The Tab S5 will have the SD855 as firmware files from the S10 revealed.

  • You are true.I tried a demo in the store and no Wi-Fi problems! So it could mean that for a few devices, there are Wi-Fi problems, for the rest,no.

  • I've been using s5e for a month and had no issues with wifi. Not even once. What's more important, the tablet's performance is good enough, it doesn't lag, it's not super smooth but I could scroll through large 26 megapixel photos without waiting for details to load unlike in my redmi phone. The screen is really vibrant, it's good for watching movies and viewing photos. But some apps crash too often and one of them made s5e freeze so I had to press and hold power button + volume down. Also sometimes I miss the headphone jack, I have to use the adapter, but it's fine. In general I love the tablet, it's lightweight, stylish and a decent performer. Maybe one problem is that it's difficult to find good 3rd party case, because s5e dimesions are not quite standart for 10+ inch tablet.

  • Ive had the s5e for just over a week and think its great. Ive had not problems with it at all at the minute its lovely to hold has a good battery life great crisp display and no wifi issues as yet

  • I too had considered the tab s5e but fortunately I decided to wait. When Consumer Reports and Sammobile among others did some thorough testing and confirmed the WiFi problem I decided to go with the tab s4. It's a better tablet and has been well tested by pros and buyers since it's release last year and received high ratings and for me worth the extra money. I'm sure Samsung will somehow resolve the problem with the s5e but since they haven't yet acknowledged the problem this may take a while.

  • I have the Tab s5e & although I also can see the wifi getting weaker when tightly holding the bottom left it is still the best tablet i have used & the best display, for the price.

  • Despite Tab S5e was my first choice I took no risk with WiFi issue and bought Tab S4 instead last Friday. It was 20% more expensive but it is at least compensated by more powerful CPU and has s-pen as well. Android Pie is also getting rolled out to Tab S4 soon (some regions already got it). If you have time you may wait a month or so and see if it will be fixed, but I need to decide now.

  • good tablet for watching videos and movies, browsing, social media and spotify. cool screen and nice speakers. have not encountered any wifi connectivity problems.

  • this is no doubt the worst tablet to buy!!! i made a mistake, and I didn't pay attention to all the people, and the said that the tablet have a lot of problems with connecting to wifi. the worst tablet you can buy!!!!!

  • That wont happen, S5 will likely to come out with last year SD845, its still quite powerful in 2019.

  • Thank you!

  • Please insert the latest Qualcomm SDM855 Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) chip in Coming Samsung Galaxy Tab S5

  • Versions: SM-T720 (Wi-Fi); SM-T725 (LTE) Can for T725

  • It's probably the same antenna issue the Iphone 4 had way back. Just hope Samsung doesn't just use the same response Apple did to that problem, "You're Holding It Wrong."

  • Can we make usual voice calls using a SIM card in this tablet ??

  • 64 Gb 4 Gb ram, 128 GB 6GB ram

  • Why this isn't compatible with S Pen? Is would be the perfect choice over Ipad pro...

  • It seems like it's passive. Haven't tried it yet, will try with my Sennheiser HD650.

  • Thank you Alen. has it been fixed by Samsung? Can this be fixed permanently? Thnx!

  • Yes, it is problem with wifi, when in landscape and if holding tablet with hand in left down corner (camera on left), wifi signal us reduced for about 30%

  • Any issues with the wifi?

  • Not true at all, a 8 inch 16x10 tablet is more than 3cm wider and 3 cm taller than a 6.4 inch 18x9 phone. Huge difference see here,

  • Probably not when phones are over 6 inches, so an 8 inch tablet will only be a little bit bigger.

  • I have a 128 GB model S5e and it has 6 GB of RAM.

  • Will they release an 8-inch version of this tablet?

  • Samsung web page (https://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/tablets/galaxy-tab-s/galaxy-tab-s5e-10-5--2019--wi-fi-sm-t720nzklxar-black-128gb-10-5-sm-t720nzklxar/) says that 128 GB version also has only 4 GB of RAM. -So question is, is there any model of Galaxy Tab S5e with 6 GB of RAM exist or it is a wrong info?

  • Well they had to fit in quad speakers , plus so you really want .75 mm of space on either side of the Jack? I’d be nervous. At least they included the dongle. The regular tab s5 will probably have it so just wait for that one and how often do you charge and listen at the same time? But it is a bummer

  • DEX is now available on your Galaxy Tab S5e follow the link : I can't say I'm happy about this because I bought Galaxy Tab S4 only for the DEX mode but...this is life. You have to register on the Google Play Store to get it but it's completely free, lucky man.. Have a nice week-end Cassidy

  • The usb-c jack and the headphone jack are almost the same size [i'm looking at the said parts on my asus phone]. Samsung could've easily included a headphone jack or a secondary usb-c port so that you can use the dongle, and charge the tablet at the same time. Its their way of making you buy bluetooth ear phones for more money.

  • Does it support OTG (SSD, keyboard, mouse...)?

  • Waiting patiently in Indonesia, will get it if it has pre order bundle (with akg headphones/ the buds) if not then I think its better to get ipad pro.

  • In my country (Malaysia), only 1 version was released, the LTE 4 + 64gb ver.

  • It does include usb-c 3.5 headphone jack converter. The tablet is too thin to have a physical jack

  • It is a shame it does not come with a headphone jack, but how many people actually use a tablet with headphone, im guessing only a small majority. The chipset is fine for most but if you want heavy graphics games them I would go for the Samsung S4 or wait for this years S5 flagship. iPad is a different ecosystem best to stick to one.

  • Netflix will only play unto 720p currently, hope this changes soon. Amazon Prime Video does display full 1080p though.

  • In my opinion the Tab S5e is a bit useless without the headphone jack. Also, the chipset is midrange so compared to the new iPad Air I cannot see why one would like to buy it.

  • korea

  • Where exactly 6GB ram version is sold, because i could not find it or mentioned anywhere on European shops or not even US? Or should 6GB version come out sometime later than 4GB model?

  • I do wish that Samsung would also make an 8" version. I have the S2 which I like because of the size and capability., but this is now quite old and wouldn't like to buy another as it seems the best for my needs

  • You are out of your mind, Short Wavelength Radiation (which Bluetooth is) is not an ionizing radiating and therefore can't cause cancer. Better stay in a bunker, because sun apart from visible and invisible light also emits X-rays.

  • Amazon UK have the promotion applied if you order through them.

  • Looks like this April launch does not include LTE models... no one seems to have any word on when those roll out.

  • I think the 512mb free memory card is in UK only. Check out Samsung UK site it explains how to claim it.

  • Where can i do that?

  • Same here. Won't buy a product without it.

  • Why you don't put the damn sd55 on it? What you waiting for?

  • Has anyone mentioned that you get a 512gb memory card that can be sold and also the option to trade in your old tablet and get £50 back, which makes this tablet a very affordable tablet.

  • no headphone jacks? it's a world conspiracy..

  • another tablet destroyed with a pathetic screen with rounded corners.

  • This seems normal now. Almost make the perfect product but screw up one or two things. It really sucks when you a like a device and then find out they removed a feature that was part of the previous iterations.

  • Seriously Samsung? You couldn't find space in your *10-inch tablet body* for a proper headphone jack? Didn't expect the S5e to be a downgrade in basic functionality from the S4. Nothing says "premium product" like a big-ol' dongle jutting awkwardly out the side of your tablet.

  • Yes, been waiting for a decent 8" for a long while. Even the 2019 iPad Mini will be available soon. Still so prefer the 4:3 screen ratio though.

  • In France, bonus is 128 Go for price of 64 Go

  • like iphone x/xs?

  • Same. I had to buy an old Galaxy Tab S2 because even that is better than the recent Samsung 8 inch tablets. The only android 8 inch tab that is better is the Xiaomi Mi Pad 4.

  • Snapdragon 670 LOL.. This will like dogp00p.. Samsung with their usual bad optimization and lag lol.

  • Wish Samsung brings out an 8 inch version, so much handier to carry and hold, especially when reading books, newspapers etc. -

  • Interesting to see the difference in pre-order bonuses. Here in NL it's a charging station valued at 59,- EUR. Would've preferred the AKG's

  • Samsung tab S5e Pre-order for Uk is finally up, release date 18th April, But unlike everywhere else in the world that gets Expensive wireless Headphones, the Uk gets a free 512gb Sd card if pre-ordered.

  • WOW I just saw then if you pre-order a Galaxy Tab S5e they give you a pair of headphones free (value $ 200 ) Headphones link : It is a real bargain considering the specifications of the product and the quality of the screen Super Amoled . I almost regret buying my S4 but... Go for it guys if you don't need S-Pen and Dex mode..the sound quality is spectacular if it is the same of S4 Sorry, i'm not sure if this is publicity but with this rebate I have to advertise people Cassidy

  • Although I do agree with you for the 3.5 mm jack removal, you can still use (non-3.5 mm) USB-C earphones or dongles to avoid Bluetooth. The only issue would be finding out whether the adapter should be passive or active, but it could be possible that these things are already included in the box altogether

  • Wish Samsung make a 8" version of this. I will buy for $350

  • Get Samsung Galaxy Buds... :)

  • I own 7 Samsung devices. This was exciting until I got to the lack of a headphone jack. You don't have to copy Apple to be in the game. They are going to get slammed by cancer lawsuits due to the continuous use of Bluetooth earjacks. It's like a lot of things, a little Bluetooth is fine. A lot of bluetooth is probably where the correlations find their significance. Bring back the headphone jack. And find a way to make your products greener, not disposable.

  • According to Amazon release date to UK 19th April. Think German gets it a week earlier?

  • Sorry Samsung.. I just love you..

  • I think they sacrificed the jack for the quad speakers and a thinner body. The speakers even have the same features as the Tab S4, which are tuned by AKG and have Dolby Atmos And for those who think this is overpriced, it ISN'T. It just doesn't have a 32 GB model, only 64 and 128 GB. That means the lowest storage you'll get is 64 GB at the 420 EUR price

  • Type C connector headset

  • No, it's a puny little device. I use a Galaxy View right now and it's easy to use with one hand. This device is too small.

  • You cannot answer a call without using headset, this is a HUGE tablet. almost 11"!!!

  • no 3.5 mm jack... how can I answer call without using headset if I'm in the bus or airplane how can I watch movie its not comfortable for me ...

  • It's radiation

  • Samsung I have always loved you now I love you even more and now apple is going down.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Is it 120 hertz refresh rate?

  • Buy Samsung Galaxy Bud. It’s wireless now ;)

  • The main camara don't have led flash?

  • Will this have hdr10 display?

  • Yes apparently the Tab 5e can use a keyboard book cover, it has the same pins on the bottom (landscape) for docking.

  • does the display have hdr10?

  • Its look great. But as like as Tab S4 can I use book cover keyboard? If possible that it could be tremendous tab of this year. So is anybody here to inform me about the using of Book Cover Keyboard.

  • wowwww

  • Interesting tablet it could be a great replacement for my Tab S

  • I think no, but if it has one, is cool!

  • I think no, but if it has one, is cool!

  • It doesn't have one

  • Where is the flash ?

  • no stylush?

  • I would return it XD

  • R.I.P

  • i just bought the tab s4 i did'nt realise there was gonna be a new one

  • Saw the introduction video on utube.Don't think I saw a headphone port. But here gsmarena says it has one

  • why not ? apple can do it , samsung can do it also ...

  • they dont care because it got amoled ....

  • Finally a solid mid-range tablet from samsung, better than the tab a line, great! One correction for the specs list, there is no 3.5mm audio jack in this tablet. The tab S5e is slightly thinner than the tab s2, but not by a huge amount, they could have included a 3.5mm audio jack, just like the tab s2, so that's a bit disappointing from samsung, no 3.5mm audio jack :(

  • It all started when Samsung released tablets without holder for S-Pen. People stopped using S-Pen (because external S-Pen is quickly lost...). Samsung looked at telemetry and noticed that almost nobody uses S-Pen. And now Samsung releases tablet without S-Pen support. Days of S-Pen and Note line are numbered now. It is a pity. I liked it. And my kids played with S-Pen a lot.

  • This is just a strange product. People who wanted more productivity bought the Tab S4 6 months ago. And probably the ones who didn't bought one, will wait for Tab S5. So why release this S5e now? Samsung already had the lower price version Tab A. They wanted a mid-range one or what?

  • Wow look at those thin bezels and only 5.5mm thick, must be one elegant piece of hardware to hold.

  • That's it ! Now all foldable scum goes in the trash bin !

  • Well, this is just the "S5e", so maybe the "normal" S5, or the S5 Pro will get flagship specs, like Snap 855 or Exynos equivalent, 256GB + 8GB or 512GB + 10GB, 12-inch or 3:2 screens, better cameras, bigger battery, and a 'real' artist's pen. If Samsung truly wants to compete with apple, that is.

  • Yes , apple always releases an ipad in march-april every year priced at $329 this one is gonna be more expensive because 1 - its apple we are talking about 2 - Base storage is supposed to be 64gb up from 32 gb from last years model 3- it will stick to an a11 processor which we know its pretty powerful much better than sd 675 4/ it has already stylus support for apple pen this time it may come with apple pen 2 support I dont know u but Id like to the best option for less than 400 bucks which its ipad I still hate ios and apple tho

  • Only diehard fans buy this crap overpriced.

  • super with super amoled !

  • Less than 400 bucks? Ipad???? 2019???? I'll buy 1000 pieces, please sell them to me!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice PHONE (cause phones are almost as big now)

  • They really need to release highend tablets. I really want one with SD855.

  • Does it support S pen?

  • Why is there no headphone jack!?

  • I also hate apple products. But for tablet, I'd go for iPad. There's no better competitor in tablet market. and iOS is well optimized for tablet compared to android for tablet

  • Does it support S pen please? Why with out dex?@

  • Yes, but 670 is pretty midrange power, it has more Ram because it needs them, iPads fly with only 2 or 3 gb. Also updates and apps for iPad > apps for any Android tablet.

  • The base Ipad 2019 screen won't be nearly as good, has no expandable storage, won't have as much ram, won't be as thin, and won't have USB type c.

  • Is jack really there?

  • I am an apple hater , i hate apple for overpricing products , but come on id rather get an ipad 2019 which is gonna be powered by an a11 processor way faster than sd 670 and its gonna be for less than 400 buck which also has stylus support and this crapsung doesnt even though i dont like apple that much , ipads are the only solution , android tablets are out of competition

  • so where's the led flash?

  • Another troll who can't have people having different opinions.

  • They need to make a foldable phone with this screen size when open up

  • no dex mode sorry

  • looks good, specs is good too, chrome os is the only lack in this tablet! Next generation actually

  • If it do not have a dex mode, which I am almost sure it want have it will have no chance to compete with Ipads. Only Desktop mode can give you advantage to use bigger screen since Android support for bigger screens sucks as hell....

  • Another overpriced tablet for the die hard Samsung fans
