Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 - User Reviews

  • Yeah, I still have this one as my primary (really!) Android device (updated to the last available Lineage OS ROM 14). Only problem I see is that the battery capacity appears to be down to 90% or 80% of the original capacity, judging from the way the unit charges slowly from 20% to 85%+, then suddenly jumps 100%. Too bad Sammy no longer makes tablets this durable ;).

  • Yeah, just like it says in this page.

  • I just reset mine yesterdayXDDDD

  • Its NOT a LCD-screen its an OLED-screen.

  • i got this tablet for 4 years battery is still amazing and screen is great

  • Where can I buy the LCD for this model? I have dropped my unit and the lower left side of the unit is broken. Tho I can still see some colors when I turned on the unit. I need help. Thank you. I am in Manila Philippines.

  • Battery was $21 plus tax and $10 to ship, from newegg.com, on Sept 19, 2018. In Canada, they seem to be available at BestBuy and Walmart, but they do not ship to U.S. I saw them for $12 from Hong Kong, but the shipping was $60.

  • Hello, could you please tell me where did you order your battery from for tab s 8.4. Considering this far amount of time, how are you satisfied with battery and screen on time?

  • II bought mine in Dec 2014. In Nov 2017, the screen started flickering and the battery started to drain very fast. I followed instructions to replace the battery from YouTube and problem fixed. It took over 1h. I hear the newer models are not as easy to replace the battery.

  • I've disassembled my S 8.4 and tried to look after what causes the flickering and restarting what you have posted before. My battery had also drained insanely fast. After further examination I realized the problem can't be the battery connector because it seemed intact. So, I have bought a new battery for ~15 pounds and after installation with 1 month usage-The problem has been solved. I'm usually getting 7 hours screen-on time with heavy usage with a fairly consistent battery drain. And of course, there is no flickering anymore. The average battery usage with screen-on is now 14.6%/h based on a fortnight measurement. I guess I could advise you to buy a new battery if you have the same fault that I had.

  • Yes I'm I love it my best tab I own

  • The screen flickering and restart was cause by the battery connector having connection issue. Open the tab, clean the connector and reconnect again will solve this issue. I am having the same issue until I search youtube on how to solve it. I don't have any specific tool, just use sharp item to open the case then reconnect it myself. The battery was glue into the tab, require very hard force to taken it out and I was really scare it explode :) when I apply so much force and bend the battery a bit.

  • are you happy with it

  • What are the real changes in new january update ? I didnt find any.... still have screen flickering and restart problem and too slow n laggy with normal graphic games ..

  • Does anyone here knows the update marshmallow on this device is good???

  • Does anyone here knows the latest update for this tab is ok..?I mean the marsmallow update because i still have not yet updated mine. I still have the lollipop version?

  • Latest software update seems to have corrected it.

  • My Tab S 8.4 WiFi speed is very slow, @57 Mbps, compared to Desktop & cell @210 Mbps. Anyone have a solution or is it normal?

  • Try factory reset & wipe partition from the recovery. I had the same problem, now resolved.

  • yes working

  • Hi... I faced the same problem. Stuck in boot in the Samsung logo screen. So i tried switching it off with power + volume down button and it worked. I then removed the SD card, booted to the boot menu with power+volume up+menu keys and did a factory reset. Then removed the booted it again and it still got stuck. Tried rebooting manually with power and volume down button and after 3 tried it worked. Booted to the home screen as in after a factory reset. Checked the OS and it was 6.0.1! Major relief and it seems its a common problem for the mm update.

  • I also faced the same problem, I flashed it again with Lollipop, perplexed whether to update again or not.

  • Is jio sim is work in this tab

  • Am just buying mine now and I hope it doesn't develop any issues like that of battery

  • It cant turn on after i install the mm update and restart. Pls help me what shout i do. It stay in samsung logo and nothing.

  • If young don't charge it original Charger it shows vertical lines rhan freeze and restart.it happens sometimes below %50 ör %30 charge level. İt doesn't matter same spec Charger you habe to use is own Charger. İt never freeze anda restart then

  • I was having the same problem. I would get white horizontal flashing lines across the screen, the Tab S would freeze, and then it would reboot... sometimes. I sent it in to the warranty company. The first time it was returned they did absolutely nothing to it. The second time I re emphasized the issue with the loose wire on the battery and it needing resoldering. I even sent them web pages explaining this known issue. The work order accompanying my Tab S indicated they listened to me the second time. That's exactly what they did to fix it, and it's been running smoothly ever since. If your tab is still under warranty I suggest you send it in with specific instructions to fix and resolder the wires that are loose, or if you're handy enough I've read some people have done it themselves. Good luck

  • Just got my Tab S back from having it serviced. About a month after I got it the screen started flashing vertical lines and it would shut down automatically. I sent it in to have it repaired twice because the first time they did absolutely nothing despite my telling them about the history of the lose battery wires . The second time I again told them it was a resoldering issue with the battery. The work order reflected this and it works like a charm now.

  • I bought a $20 ezcast dongle from Amazon. It works beautifully and the Tab S recognizes it. One end of the dongle with an HDMI, so it just attaches to the back of your TV. You find the video from your tab that you want to play, use the stock video player, and at the top you'll get the option to stream it from your device or just stream it over to ezcast. It's as simple as that. I also have a Chromecast dongle and I can do the same thing with that, but the Chromecast is much more picky and finicky

  • They finally pushed it today for my T700. No September security patch tough.

  • I got the upgrade to Marshmallow!

  • I had the same problem, I replaced the battery and it's OK now

  • please I have Samsung tab 8.4 SM T705 ,I put it on but the phone can't reboot. how can I do?

  • Why don't u do screen mirroring?

  • Many problems including flashlight battery draining and screen flickering, I have sent this to warranty centre but no correction of any problem they just update the software

  • I have bought and used hand phone since 1990s. One of the inconveniences is the small keyboard and screen size, because my fingers are rather big and therefore makes typing error so often. However, since I bought Samsung Galaxy Tab S 2 days ago and install "Jback" keyboard this afternoon, I feel so happy and satisfied using this tablet. The width of this tablet is perfect. I can grab and hold it by one hand. Quality versus Price is very excellent as compared to other tablets or smart phones having more expensive price or twice of its price. This Samsung Galaxy Tab S is "Highly Recommended".

  • yeah but you you need the mhl 2.0 adapter from Samsung. unless you have a smart tv with screen mirroring then you can connect wirelessly.

  • Flashed with Marshmallow, Overclocked to 100Mhz to 2100Mhz (interative) AMAZING TABLET

  • Can anyone give me advice on connecting this device to a tv. I bought a cheap cable to connect it via hdmi and it didn't work. Is it worth investing in a more expensive one? Can it be connected to a tv?

  • @garybob what Rom did you use, just wondering as to what you used cause im thinking of changing to something else other than stock seeing as I just found out the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 will NOT be getting the Marshmallow update which is absolutely ridiculous and makes my blood boil. Good thing i didnt update to Lollipop either and did my homework long before i was considering it. (Battery drain)

  • I have upgraded mine to Lollipop and I am not facing any drain issue. Try to check the apps that you have downloaded maybe it is active even the tablet is on idle. build number: LRX22G.T700XXU1BOL1

  • Will it get marshmallow, might buy one reply urgent.

  • Actually, I spoke too soon...reinstalling google play services doesn't in fact solve the battery drain issue.

  • The battery drain issue after upgrading to Lollipop is due to a bug in Google Play Services which causes it to constantly request wakelocks. To fix: [1] Go to Settings->Applications->All,Google Play Services and choose "Uninstall Updates" (you might need to disable or stop the service first, if you don't see the Uninstall Updates button). [2] Go to and reinstall Google Play Services. [3] Restart your device.

  • ANYONE, Whats the advantage and disadvantage of upgrading to LOLIIPOP???? Thanks!

  • i upgraded it to lollipopo and my battery doesnt last a day, what should i do? i dont know whether is the battery or the operating system.

  • Do NOT upgrade to lollipop, it will drain your batterie life.

  • I kept searching for a while to find tab S 8.4 or tab pro 8.4 till I bought the tab s 8.4 (LTE) from another country! as this 2014 tabs are much better than the new versions But I'm really confused of upgrading it to lollipop or not? Some people advising me not to upgrade as the original OS is the best in battery perfromance & others don't have problem & had battery impoved after lollipop! Please i need a serious feedback from a real user & if its upgradable to 5.1.1 or 5.0.1 only And if it has the smart manager after the update like note 4???

  • This was a decent tablet out of the box, but after playing around with it for a while, I kinda got tired of the bloatware and decided to put another rom on it. Now it's nothing less than a smokin bad ass slate. Highly recommend this to anyone who has this tablet

  • This tablet is absolutely awesome, yes it's not the latest model but if check the specs you will see that S2 is practically the same performance wise, and in my opinion worse, because of the 4:3 aspect ratio and lower resolution. Aspect of 16:10 is a must if you want to watch any kind of movies, Youtube and so on, not only that but also it's perfect for browsing in portrait mode as well. Most web sites nowadays are more suited for scrolling down so having a wider screen in not often an advantage at all. Size wise it's the perfect combination of compact and having a big screen. It's very light and thin, I have no problems fitting it inside my sports shorts pocket. Screen is phenomenal, images and videos look so great and detailed, it's just something else. High resolution and AMOLED screen is a great combination. I also have a Galaxy S6 which packs the same resolution on a smaller screen but everything just looks so much better on this bigger screen. No problem with Micro SD, put in a 64 GB Sandisk and no problems whatsoever. Also the ANT+ connection is great if you have a compatible sports device. I use a chest strap heart rate monitor from Garmin and it syncs fine. Overall very recommended, especially now that you can get a very good offer on new or slightly used one. I got a store demonstration model for a good price, since they were replacing them with the newer models.

  • very nice and excelent perfomance

  • My samsung tab s is not updating to 5.1.1

  • This tablet got an update to 5.1.1.

  • Thanks

  • I finally got a 128g SD card. After installing the file utility didn't work properly, video's on the card continuously started and stopped and the tablet started to misbehave ( started without requesting a fingerprint, then asked for it 3 minutes later, etc...)

  • A couple of users i know (3 out of 7)had them after lollipop 5 upgrade. Had the battery replaced or "resoldered"| while still under warranty. Works like a charm cheers

  • I love my Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. I wish the future generation will have the same size and same ratio with a little bigger 4K AMOLED screen and smaller bezels, stylus, at least 4GB RAM and at least 64GB storage plus microSD card slot.

  • I love my 8.4 . Want to have no lag whatsoever and make it fly? First, activate developers options in settings. Then go down to transition effects and turn all off. Then get Nova Prime launcher from Playstore and install it. Also if you disable in S-Voice 'double click'' home to start S-Voice the home key will be more receptive and faster. Also turn OFF Google Now the cards.. Much better battery. Finally Google Team Blackout and install that app and get lots of apps that are black, which helps save battery and looks much nicer instead of all the white crap in Lollipop.

  • First of all, thanks for the review. I was asking for one on the comments section of the LTE version because on the Compare Page I do not know the existence of this review of the Wifi model. Now, how come I couldn't find the Sunlight Legibility Score for this device (Galaxy Tab S 8.4), Wifi or LTE model. Normally Samsung products are very proud of their Sunlight Legibility Scores due to their Amoled screens. I have double checked, it's not there. Now I'll go triple check.

  • Love my tab....😙

  • This or the note 10.1 (2014) which ones better ??

  • already upgraded to lollipop and got improved battery :)

  • Don t ugr. to lollipop!!! U'll regret!

  • good tablet

  • Don't listen to anyone I have this tab for 6 months it's wonderful

  • need to put f2fs on some partitions, so it starts to run faster.

  • Try to update your os to lolipop.

  • its lag because it fuctions with 2 years old snap 800 or exynos 5420 !! Go for Tab S2 with Exynos 5430 processor.

  • It's a very good tablet but the screen makes it Lag I am moving to sony as there better update and just as good

  • Totally agree. I was waiting for the Tab S2 to come out so I can have latest model, but when I found out it was 4:3, I rushed out last week to buy the Tab S8.4 before they are sold out. It sucks that Samsung is trying to emulate Apple. They should have made 2 different models, one with 16:10 and a 4:3 one to appease the sheeple.

  • Yes, and yes. You need adapter for both. MHL 2.0 for TV out and USB OTG for the other. The Tab S8.4 has screen mirroring, so if you have smart TV, you don't need MHL.

  • I have also same problem i used this tab s 8.4 but always auto restart its usually happen if the battery life is about 50% and i try to use this tab while charging it doesn't auto restart .is there anyone can help me on this issue is it mother board or battery issue?

  • Does this tab got tv out & usb otg?

  • My computer was hung out when i connected my tab s 8.4 to computer.Notification bar showed " unrecognized device is connected..... " and my computer was hung out and can do nothing.

  • Battery life depends also on the cpu/gpu usage. I use cyanogen 12.1 and i get around 4.5hrs screen time when gaming and above 9 hrs while watching movies.

  • I get 4.5 hours of screen-on-time with maximum, manually set, brightness and the adaptive display setting so I'm pretty happy.

  • I use this tablet for already 6 months and it is flawless. You probably got a defective unit. This display is absolutely amazing and the gaming performance also is very good. Only thing i don't like is the battery life (i get about 5hrs of screen time in cyanogenmod 12.1, on stock is better but i hate samsung bloat)

  • Your motherboard is defective now. change it. There is no any single fault in this amazing tab. this tab is a super smooth. You should go to the Samsung center.

  • Why after three months, this tab always auto restart,annoying..

  • I am planning to go for this tab.should I go for exynos one or snapdragon one?which one would be better?

  • I have an lg pad 10.1 ... It has the longest battery good for reading. And basic use ... I can recommend this and also cheap but very good performance

  • Flash player is not working on this tab what can I cool man

  • which tablet is best for studying and reading please somebody suggest

  • You obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

  • This tablet is still amazing. A joy to hold. Screen ratio is perfect and I still only need around 30% brightness on the OLED display. I for one won't be upgrading to the tab2 even tho I'd prefer a metal frame.

  • I want a WiFi for galaxy tab s 8.4

  • It has network connectivity

  • Working great.....

  • make sure the brightness is not at 100%

  • this product battery soo fast drain... i play COC for 2 hours full, n battery drain soo fast... i'm use Tab S with LTE version n SIM Card slot...

  • could use 4G wi-fi on Samsung galaxy tab S8.4

  • you can try kimstore or hotstop mobiles

  • Download the firmware, lollipop, from sammobile.Com and upload it to your device using Odin . I did that to my device and is working like a charm

  • Does anyone know where to buy the LTE version with snapdragon soc here in the philippines?

  • nope

  • Hello, Im from Serbia and lollipop is not available for me. How I can install it? Or should I wait for release?

  • I am looking to buy the s 8.4 wifi ONLY model to use for stuff and mainly gps navigation using apps like mapswithme navfree etc. does anyone know if the gps actually works with no wifi connection

  • Hi! Can you help me? After updating to lollipop my tab s gets to laggy. What should i do? I have a 360 security? Clash of Clans games and I still have 5GB phone memory. I always clean it and close apps that I open at task manager.

  • Yeah. No white color enymore. Yellow-grey is basic display color. Great tablet, but unnatural color. Cannot change in display settings. Have Galaxy Tab 2 with better color.

  • is there any problem about Nba2k15 on this device?? (wifi only model)

  • Got Tab S 8.4, after few days software upgrade received and upgrade it. Nice and its around 923 mb.

  • update to lolipop you will be able to get whatsapp thru playstore

  • updated to 5.0.2

  • schrott.Short batery life,no naturals colors on display, and to many bugs.Schrott!Waste of time.

  • Yeah sure. High time samsung stopped playing around started giving people real stuff. Style and performance, period. Rightly put

  • I have a samsung tab s 8.4 from outside East Africa. Is it safe for me to upgrade it to lollipop from kitkat 4.4.2? Someone from Samsung Care Centre advised me not to, that it would render it useless since Samsung policy is against such. But the problem is, at the Care Centre the update is not there, but i get online prompts to upgrade it to lollipop. Someone kindly help

  • You're right. I also have screen burn on my tab s.

  • To make it clear. I want Samsung to focus and concentrate in their devices, not Apple anymore. It's because, Apple is not a user-friendly device as what I have noticed here. So, I only want Samsung to get a change, because honestly, I love their devices, and I want them improve. But hate to say, after you buy most of their products, you still have discouragements on it...

  • I wish, Samsung is always on Snapdragon... I hate to see that a tablet is still focuses on their own Exynos processor, which can't reach the speed of the Snapdragon and any SoC/processors. It feels really bad that they still apply the Exynos that is much so slow, I'm wishing for their great change.. Wish that they will focus mostly to make a high-end tablet with fast processor and great screen and great battery life... Wish no more low-end tablet. I don't care about the price anymore, I care about the style and performance. If you had succesfully immitate the behalf of Apple's products, wish that you'll also copy the smooth styles and perfect specifications of their products... Like apple, I don't care about the price, as long as I won't/we won't have any big regrets buying your products... I'm not a hater or love either, but I just want you stop playing. :-)

  • It's not a phone

  • Nice phone but I it does not allow me to download whatsapp

  • Nice phone but I it does not allow me to download whatsapp

  • Hii guys are u sure tab s 8.4 received lollipop update in India??

  • hi guys tab s 8.4 got lollipop update in india. very nice. lot of improvement.

  • Nope, there is no led notification.

  • Please let me know now how you using this tablet as a smart phone . I am not a"expert", so please do it in plain english, if possible. Thx, lacibo

  • Is there is led notification on this tab?

  • Great tablet, HORRIBLE SCREEN. Colors are wildly inaccurate, even on Basic mode the screen is a sickly warm yellow. And did I mention SCREEN BURN IN? A few months in and I see yellow artifacts on dark or grayish backgrounds.I am never buying a device with an AMOLED screen ever again. F*ck.

  • What a beautiful looking, feeling, smart kick assume tab! Nice one Samsung!

  • I own this tablet and it's honestly the best tablet in the world. For sure it's better then Ipad mini 3 or Ipad air 2 .Thanks SAMSUNG for this revolutionary tablet.

  • It's a lovely tablet I love it I can use the org cable and screen is amolded better then iPad mini because they are very restricted in buying the apps I no complains about the tablet

  • android 5.0.2 come for korea :)

  • VHIE, i personally use tab s and i dont recommend this tablet for all online gaming esp. COC. it eats a lot of battery and everytime i play COC my batt. only last for 30 mins.

  • Guys TAB S 8.4 WiFi Only,is it good for gamings like Clash of Clan and how many long hours i can play it to this tablet?

  • Is this now limitedly available? i saw on Samsung estore it says not in stock

  • Is it supports USB other or USB host? Please help me I want buy this one thanks in advance

  • The screen on Samsung S 8.4 is much sharper than Ipad and this has 3Gb of RAM unlike the Ipad. It also has Samsung tab also has expandable memory to 128Gb!

  • Then you should stick to iPad. iPad is operating on IOS I believe and Samsung Tab S 8.4 is on Android. These are two different softwares though operation may be similar.

  • The 32gb version only exists on the 10.5 variants

  • It is now at Best Buy

  • It does not say what material the screen it is made of. It is Gorilla glass? or some other material

  • LOL. Nobody but Samsung can answer you. Maybe they have a secret lab where they test the batteries of unreleased products. The Tablet S has been out for less than a year: LAUNCH: Announced, 2014, June Status: Available, Released 2014, July

  • Have you noticed any deterioration to the battery life or quality after using it for one year?

  • Yes it will get it.

  • Android 5.0 Lollipop?!?!?!?!?!?

  • Samsung should make it easy to root the tablet so that users can move game... data... to the Sd-card! 16 Gb, with only 10 Gb free, is not enough today when games often are 3 Gb!

  • ahh come on man. Then you should have purchased the 32GB version, if 10GB of apps is not enough for you.

  • Fantastic Tablet, had it since near end of last year and im very happy with it. Screen is stunning imho and i find it to run everything fast enough then some, only thing i'm waiting for is Android 5.x.x hope that comes soon to add the cherry on top. We also have the ipad air in the house and its no comparison i pick up the Tab S every time. (Just my opinion of course). I use the Iphone 5s so maybe thats why i love the Tab S more as its a change as i find the Ipad just a big Iphone really. Cheers, Derek

  • With 16 GB atleast 5-6 GB is used up by the OS + Samsung Bloatware. So only 10 GB space is available for User Installations. The additional SD card does not help in all cases as many Apps are restricted to the Internal Storage Installation. So if you have an Offline Map application it can easily download offline maps (e.g 4-5 GB). So this 16 GB version will prove to be useless after some time. Waste of Money.

  • Hi, I've same problem with yours, what i do is restart the tab, upon complete startup, tab will notify you that sd card storage to be used for camera, just click "cancel" then it work great for me.

  • Because, since it takes an SD card and you can expand it to however much you want, it's a complete waste of money to buy the more memory version so retailers don't stock it (or shouldn't, anyway)

  • Galaxy Tab S 8.4 32 GB is not available .. Samsung has turned into a monopolistic company over the last years that does not listen to its consumers .. First it was the confusing Geo Location restricted devices which though claimed samsung customer support also could not unlock .. now releasing just a 16GB version of a device which would mandate an upgrade few months down the line... Evident results are Samsung losing its once established Market Leader Status (4rth Postion in China for Q4 2014) .. And Samsung Offering Flat 100 Euro Cashback on Galaxy Tab S devices in Germany (purchases between 2015-01-28 bis 2015-02-15) .. Would be better if they would listen to consumers rather than resorting to desperate measures later...

  • Why is 32gb model not available anywhere ?

  • I have this tablet for a couple of months.it's not bad but behind ipad in terms of quality.screen looks very good in basic mode but in other modes colours look artificial.it's generally responsive but loading pdf takes a bit long.audio is clear but not great for music either throuhg headphone or speakers, lacking sound separation and stereo.battery life is ok but not great.

  • the manual I downloaded from samsung says this tablet only supports up to 64GB.

  • do a factory reset then try and should work.

  • better if support GSM

  • I just bought a Samsung Galaxy s 8'4 tablet for Christmas and was told it supports up to 128gb memory card. But it will not work with the 128gb sd card I have any ideas ??

  • Who knows when android 5.0 comes?

  • Is it better than nexus 7 2013's screen?

  • After using the Tab S for a couple of days, I can tell you it has the best screen I've ever seen on a tablet. For me the 8.4" screen is perfect in both size and picture quality. The audio is surprisingly loud and crisp. It's perfect for watching movies and videos.

  • MHL won't work on this tablet (not compatible).

  • I have been using Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE for a month and I just want to say that this tab is the best one which has 8 cores with fantastic screen. It is really good one for multitasking and I really recommend you this one.

  • I hve a Tab S that just will not connect to available wifi networks

  • Why the battery very fast to down.. from 100% to 65% in 5 minutes. Could anyone tell me how to fix the battery? Thanks

  • Just replace my battery under samsung warranty for 2 days and it went great.

  • The best tablet ever!!! The camera, but it's quite slow if you want to open Google...

  • Built quality on this one is surprisingly good. Love the design, and it's very compact with those small bezels, and very thin. Price is ok, when compared to what you get for it. I love watching movies on a tablet, and with this screen, it is an apsolutely joy with the Tab S. From me, all thumbs up :)

  • when is gonna be update to lollipop? Maybe you know;-)

  • I got this tab today but when I started to explore it my camera was giving me error message "camera failed" and crashing, do anybody had this problem I have done everything from resset to clear cache bout same error message I am getting. Do anybody has fix for this problem.

  • I am an apple fanboy, owned iPhone 5, Mac air and iPad mini 2 last year... Until recently I migrated to android, with Oneplus and Tab s 8.4 now. IMHO, tab s have the best hardware in market so far (and crappiest software I've ever encountered). Its amoled display simply trumps my last years iPad mini 2, with added bonus of SD card. Used it for past week, really happy with the purchase, and rooting and updating to CM ROM ATM.

  • Guys, i bought this tablet, its really good. I am not able to download free movies ( it says its included in galaxy gifts) please help me

  • I'm defending this tab. Call me Samsung fanboy. (nope, Samsung product actually is good, but only good for those who know how to utilize it, for it's niche) I use it as a smartphone. For those who complain on the battery life, actually it is better than a comparable Galaxy S4, and Note 3, with all the 3G connectivity turn on. I'm talking on real usage as a phone, making calls, sms, use chatting apps like Whatapps, Wechat, social apps like Facebook. It perform so well that everything just works. For sure, gaming will drain the battery fast, but this apply to all tablet and smartphone, anyway. The only thing missing will be NFC, and removable battery. The standby time is actually much longer than a typical smartphone, when the tab is not in use. Considering it's price is actually much cheaper than a real smartphone, the big 8.4 inch AMOLED screen with 2K resolution (highest available resolution, 2560x1600, higher than Note 4, G3, Find 7, but incomparable in ppi count). This will function as a great tablet, and optionally as a phone) I'm using it for what ever possible usage (GPS, OTG, DLNA, voice call, chatting, gaming) for 2 month, it's working well so far.

  • Same problem here Play hayday from 100% only one hour xD Reboot phone, tadaaaa, back to ±50% WTF

  • I would like to have this tablet of Samsung to have S-pen functionality by next year like the Note 4.

  • Does this version have the storage split like in previous galaxy tabs with only 2gb of app storage? Does the screen have gorilla glass?

  • Guys in India it released on 7th september with sim igot in jy hands on 14th september nd its a awesome piece nd by the way radio is not in andriod mobile now a days nd if u want go for andriodone series .. only they have radio nd its a awesome phone

  • Where the f. is 1700 MHz frequency and why junk-makers still produce 16GB internal memory only ?! 16 GB - its nothing !!!

  • Where is the 1700 MHz frequency for Wind Mobile- Canada ?

  • Simply amazing, i was using the samsung galaxy tab 7.7 with amoled display which i loved but this blows it out of the water. Dont think about buying it, just buy it.

  • we can inset sim and make calls from this tablet? it will support 3g?

  • Ant Galaxy Tab S 8.4 users having wifi connectivity problems, and a fast battery drain?

  • It works fine for me, what phone are you using?

  • Sidesync3.0 works well with my galaxyAlpha, I can do everything on my tab from sending sms, mms, making and receiving calls.

  • It works with no problems for me. What phone are you using? I had the s3 didn't work, so I upgraded to the galaxy Alpha and it works fine.

  • search in google dowload bbm apk

  • Can't get to answer my phone on the tab on side sync . On the WiFi model . I thought u could do everything through the tab.

  • i put the tablet pluged in and after 2hours it fulled, and very fast dropped(20% for 20minute display).2weeks ago needs 4hours for full battery and very slow dropped(15% for 1hours display).whats problem?

  • Cant install bbm.. Anybody can tell me how to intall bbm on this device??

  • I super love this tab. I love everything about it, its functionality, display, multi-window function, and even its camera! This is bang for the buck!

  • super duper love this tablet. i actually sold my ipad 3 for this and i have no regrets whatsoever. no lags, very impressive features. i don't see myself replacing this anytime soon.

  • Very very very surprising how well built this thing is. I'm a 275 pound body builder and when I pinch the screen with all i have it doubt even hint at distorting (i don't recommend this by the way). As far as battery life It seems to get about the same amount of life as an iPad. With that being said you have so many more options of how to use that battery life. Let me explain, if you want to sip and preserve power you can quite well, the screen is ridiculously bright so turning it to 25% brightness is more than adequate for most situations. Just this method alone will yield you at the very minimum 10 hours of use. Now if you want to go balls deep on battery life you can do like me and plug in your 2 TB Lacie hard drive and transfer some files or watch movie straight from the drive at full brightness. running it like this will bleed it out in about 3 to 4 hours. the fact that you have the OPTION to do so many things with this thing is astounding! It makes my iPad feel like a toy.

  • Best Tab Ever!

  • I like but not perfect..im using lenovo tablet...its enough for me cos for me perfect what i need on lenovo tab

  • Feel, look and sound nice at the expo. But I need to know the battery life before buying. Please gentlemen who own this, tell me how long the battery last if we "browse the internet and Facebook" using normal 3G. Thanks in advance.

  • My first tablet and an amazing one. The screen performs so well, the device is very light and slim. Could've exppected more from the battery but it's decent anyway. Touchwiz isn't that bad but I guess it's a personal preference. What I didn't like was the time spent while trying to confirm the fingerprint.. it worked like 30% of the tries for me. A lot of unnecessary preinstalled apps too. On the other hand, could probably say everything else is perfect and if I had the right to choose any other tablet, I probably wouldn't.

  • yes

  • Very Good Tablet... A little bit pricey, but i think it's worthed it. See the display yourself and make decision to buy it. It's cost me US$ 495 in Indonesia for T705 model (Exynos Version with GSM). Very nice compared to Galaxy S5.

  • GSMArena. Here in the Philippined the LTE model is powered by the Exynos 5420 SoC. Not the S800 Type and it has LTE Cat.4 onboard the 5420 SoC

  • i have one question in tab s have 4G connectivity in indian model anyone say answer for this plzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • I'm planning to buy this tablet soon but I'm concerned about the battery life. does it have a long lasting battery life ?

  • I bought Tab S 2 weeks ago, and must say that it has the best screen I ever saw in tablet. I hesitated, cause I owned an Ipad Mini (without retina). But unexpectedly theer was 50% off sale for tab S 8.4 & 10.5. It cost only about 260$, when normally costs twice as much. So I sold an ipad and discover true vivid colours on Tab S and a lot of others super features. My device does not overheat, its light, and slim. I can higly recommend it.

  • how do u guys play 4k video in this tablet? need 3rd party player?

  • "Dolby mobile sound enhancement" similar to note 10.1 (2014)? Anyone?

  • will the wifi versions supports WHATSAPP...???? thanks in advance

  • Yes it is otg..worked on my ext hard disk

  • hai meenakshi, have you done data pack ?

  • It does have GPS.

  • It does have gas.

  • I've been using the Tab S 8.4 wifi for over a week now and I haven't had any issues with overheating at all. I feel it more pleasant to hold in my hand then my iPad with retina display 4th generation.

  • i just bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 about two weeks ago, its nice n superb but then it suddenly went totally blank and with black colour screen. Now, it cannot be on or off anymore or in use again. I have sent it back to my Samsung dealer to rectify the problem and i will only get to know the answer next week.

  • guys there has been overheating issue with the wifi model of this tab, so i wanna ask did you guys exoerience it and did your tablet heat up when you are using it? planning on getting one but can't decide because of this

  • how about internal memory in tab s? i mean in new condition hv how much parts. please answering....

  • 4g and wifi only

  • tab s LTE has enabled GSM and tab s 8.4 only has enabled wifi

  • can this tab do whatsapp?

  • what is the difference of Tab s LTE and tab s 8.4

  • What about "Dolby mobile sound enhancement" like on note 10.1 (2014)??

  • I am going to buy this tablet soon but i wonder why samsung does not produce a note tablet with these specs of tab s 8.4. Samsung why?

  • WatchON is not used anymore. Samsung altered it into "Smart Remote" that is more simple.

  • @nickabc,, the battery performance was not too good nor too bad,, i'm using the lte version, just below 24 hours, for playing music , video , browsing, (not gaming)

  • I am currently setting up the tab S8.4 I bought 2 days back. Where is the WatchON. did not find in app store or samsung store. maybe searching wrong place :(

  • Hi, r u the owner of this tablet? May i know hw is the battery life of this tablet?

  • Connectivity The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 comes in two flavors - Wi-Fi only and LTE. The LTE model features quad-band GSM and 3G support with HSPDA up to 42Mbps. The LTE support covers six bands and is category 4, which means you get up to 150Mbps downlink and up to 50Mbps uplink speeds. Both tablet versions feature Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac support, with 2.4GHz and 5GHz band compatibility. Wi-Fi Direct and DLNA support are also available as well as GPS and GLONASS receivers. Bluetooth 4.0 is also available for local data transfer. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 also supports USB-on-the-go, but you will need to buy an additional adapter for that. The tablet can work with USB storage, USB mice and keyboards. Of course, you can always hook up a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard to the slate without relying on the cable connection. You can also buy a MHL HDMI adapter and use it to pair with HDTV via a regular HDMI cable. An IR blaster on the right of the tablet allows it to remotely control TV's and other devices using the Samsung WatchON app. The last piece of the connectivity puzzle, NFC, is missing though. SideSync 3.0 allows you to pair your tablet with your Galaxy S5 smartphone. The latter shows up virtually on the tablet's display; you can control its functions, make calls, and answer messages while it is in your bag or pocket. It really works very well and can come in handy if you use your tablet at home, while the phone is charging somewhere. The Remote PC client is also preinstalled on the device. It seriously boosts its productivity credentials. The Samsung AllShare feature is integrated with the Samsung's default apps - the Video Player app, the Gallery, and the Music Player - and it allows you wirelessly stream all sorts of multimedia content to your connected stereo or HDTV. Samsung Link (previously known as AllShare Play) is another proprietary service offered by Samsung. Once you download the dedicated app, it automatically syncs all the multimedia content on your device to Samsung servers so it's backed up and also available for instant play on your other Samsung devices, including your Samsung SmartTV.

  • I have this tab but i am having hard time enabling the HDR mode, it is disabled out of the box and cant find a way to enable it. Im using T705

  • forget note 8? well done bruh

  • Does this have otg function?

  • Does it have gps? It's in specs but some wi-fi only tablets don't have it so I'm asking.

  • so why have samsung released a fleet of tablets and phones but not a single 8 or 7 inch tablet with an s-pen??

  • yes!

  • yes you can it is 4G device as well.

  • one question can u call with this device like a normal phone

  • just got it looks and feels great. 4g version i got

  • can this tab play dvix, xvid and mkv ?? thanks in advance

  • Can this play dvix and xvid.. Thanks in advance..

  • Can this play xvid and dvix videos..tjabks

  • Not much like latest but more of marketing gimmicks

  • Why no gsm ?

  • Have you ever tried Samsung's latest devices? Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 feels really great in hand, so this tab should be awesome.

  • again ugly old design never can feel different with sumsung and android

  • RGB 94%

  • This tablet of course. Here's why: - Super thin 6,6 mm - Octa Core Chipset - High resolution and pixel density - Galaxy Apps - Super Adaptive AMOLED display - and it's... new!

  • I wanted to say $ not &

  • What would you recommend? Nexus 7 or this?

  • Available in Romania as pre-order at 1900 RON. This means: &580 or 432 euros.

  • Waiting to see how Samsung will optimize the interface to match the new Material Design in Android L......!

  • Very very cool tablet. I was waiting for a successor to the Tab 7.7 for a very long time. As always from Samsung high up in the competition, but unfortunately no FM Radio, no NFC, no baromter/hygrometer, no other sensors like ANT+ Do they really have to lower their standards to the ones like Microsoft or Apple. Or other maccheapos. It's such a high class tablett, and one can only use it for mediaconsuming and camera-applications - give it aluminium and you can sell it at high prices to US-citizens but the rest of the world want more out of it.

  • This is the best Samsung tablet.

  • is it pentile or full rgb?

  • Tab Pro 8.4 does not come with Exynos.

  • No its not! Exynos is way way better i tried both but with Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, Exynos is much smoother.

  • They are both very good, no really big difference.

  • I want to know which one is better, Mali t628 or adreno330

  • The screen is scratch-resistant, but not Gorilla Glass. Samsung uses an other Technology to protect their screens.

  • 2G?

  • but Snapdragon 801 better when Exynos 5422

  • Thanks Mickey_s and pra12. I'll get this (Tab S 8.4) instead of the Tab Pro 8.4. Moreover I prefer SAmoled than Super LCD.

  • Exynos 5 is Samsung's own made processor it has 8 cores, but the 8 cores don't works at the same time.Only 4 cores work for normal usage and other 4 cores work seperately for heavy usage like if you are playing game. And obviously its faster than the Quad Cores

  • Does the 3G/4G variats have a full phone functionality?

  • The Octa Core(8 cores)Exinos 5 is faster than the Quad Core (4 cores) Snapdragon 800 because Exinos 5 has more cores, which results a higher total clock speed.

  • Yes, i forgot that. Thanks :)

  • So which is the better one. Exynos 5 Octa or Snapdragon 800? And why ? Thanks if you choose to answer.

  • and super amoled display!

  • The only difference between Samsung Tab Pro 8.4 and S 8.4 are the chipset (not big difference) and the gold looking design on the tab S 8.4

  • Hmm... Hard to choose. On IPad is quite hard to load, transfer and create documents like PowerPoint or Word. Many of the documents created on IPad look bad. Ipad is good for games and entertaiment. Samsung really wants to beat Apple at ... everything. Samsung tablets are very good. You can download apps which can view documents, even they are not displayed perfectly, like on computer (for example if you format text on pc). I would also reccomend a windows 8 tablet, which has preinstalled Office (Word, PowerPoint etc), but interface is not really optimised for small tablets. My final choose would be: Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 - for screen clarity, performance and compatible Office apps OR A Windows Tablet - for being free to do anything with windows apps and Office. Hope I helped you in choosing the right tablet for you.

  • Its just a enlarged version of the Note 3

  • Really perfect, SUPER AMOLED is the upper-hand compare to other tablets.

  • You are absolutely right. First, Android developers must optimize their apps and games for tablets, to use their power. This is why Android needs quad, octa, super extra quad + super extra mega turbo octa cores to reach the Ipad. The Ipad is amazing. The optimised OS and apps are amazing on an only dual core processor. This tablet is a waste of money and hardware components. Maybe Android will soon offer apps optimised for tablets. MAYBE. BUT anyway, OF COURSE there will be no more updates and support when those apps will be available. Games will not run because of "Old Android Version". I do not see any benefits of buying this tab instead the screen resolution which is good for reading text and watching movies. The only devices with Android I would buy are the Nexus and Google Play Edition devices, because of Google's long time support. But at the moment, i would really choose IPad. Seriously.

  • "we trimmed it in gold to give it an aura of luxury" Where'd they get that idea? Lol iPad is still better. iOS have much more and quality apps for tablets

  • This tablet is great id be willing to trade my iPad Air for this

  • why no gorilla glass or scratch-resistant glass ?

  • Plz,compare with galaxy tab pro 8.4 ? Which display is better for studying? How about IPad mini2?
