Sharp TM200 - User Reviews

  • الها&;#1578;ف لا يشغل ولا يوجد شاحن واى وصله له mp3

  • please can anyone tell me how to get through this kind of problem?i bought tm 200 but each time i connect to my pc via usb cable i cant find the fone on ma pc.and my blutooth doesnt work with other fones.eery other things are quite ok.please what websie can i get the softwares to download?

  • yes it does. in asia is sold as sharp gx-t300. anyway i broke the window of the external display. is hopeless to repair this phone.

  • I have a tm 200 am and It works fine and i heard that this model have an second name. Is it true?

  • the bluetooth only works with the computer ;). read the manual. if you look carefully you can see that you can have the option to send via bluetooth. this phone works with sharp handset manager. you connect the phone to the computer via bluetooth using this program

  • i have a tm 200 but my bluethoth is not work. I can't have pictures and music from another phone. how i solve the problem? please help me

  • I use it on orange romania. you won't be able to connect through the dedicated button. in the end you can connect for sure from the bookmarks. the only thing I can't use are the mms.

  • I have a question for some of you. I also have a Sharp TM200, but I've got a problem when I first wanted to connect to the internet. The TM200 is produced for/by T-Mobile, but I'm using Orange Network. The guy from the Orange Shop who had to configure my phone to be able to connect to the internet told me, that this were not possible, due to a software restriction. So I need to know if this is for real or not?! Can the TM200 be used for internet connections only in T-Mobile Network?? Thanx

  • it's very rare a motorola without problems, not to mention they are very fragile. never underestimate sharp.

  • Sorry mate. But you are wrong. Sharp phones have great design, and much better features than moto.

  • shrp phones are not that good loking and far from even coming close to moto phones very little fetures, and very bad looking phones, we think that sharp should stick to making every thing els than phones. west indies trinidad ..

  • amr as ringtone doesn't work either on this phone. so the easiest way is to use simple midi's as ringtones, don't complicate your life... so... i chand it with a panasonic x700:)) now i have a powerful operating system with working bluetooth and irda, and accepts a lot of applications. (btw it came with a software that helps you do panoramas or interpolate up to 1,3 megapixels), i put mp3's, and wav as ringtone:P and of course you can see movies on it or record your own unlimited

  • I have a problem with the ringtone. I know I can't set Mp3 ringtone but can I convert it to another type of file ? who can show me which type of file does TM200 support? I see some midi and SMAP file in My music. but I don't know how to convert from mp3 to SMAP

  • the bluetooth of tm200 is limited to only use with handsfree. It can't transfer files to other phones or pc. It's just like that. :/

  • my bluetooth dosn't work on the tm200. i can pair to other bluetooth phones, but i can't send or receive any file!! can anybody help??? what could be the problem?

  • Most Java 2.0 games work fine with the TM200. I think the ones made for motorola phones work fine for it but the ones made for SonyEricsson phones may not work too well.

  • When I listen to MP3s and turn off the MP3 player the phone still works fine. I think something might be wrong with your phone.

  • after i listen music (mp3, mp4) i can't use the phone function. it dials or it receives calls but i can't hear any sounds. does anybody else have this problem. after i restart the phone works fine (but if i listen again music i have to restarted again if i want ot talk with somebody)

  • Sharp TM200 does support IMAP4 protocol?

  • Great phone supports sd up to 1gb.

  • 10x bao (again). well i see that sharp made "a budget phone"(eliminated from the soft functions just to put more hardware). for 220$ without other charges it's almost ok. at least i can use it on any network i want.

  • About t9....if you have problem with t9 when you write mesage, just hold "#" 2 sec. before start to write....t9 is disabled.Sorry for bad english..

  • This phone can only play 3gp files up to 298kb. So its pretty useless to watch videos with this one. Too bad.

  • what about the mpeg4? drives me crazy. i couldn't find clips to work (i tried mpg, mpeg, mp4, asf, i copied a 3gp taken with panasonic x700 and my phone didn't recognize it, i can only play clips taken with my sharp).

  • Some times when i open my phone the display will just be a white screen.I have to open and close it a bunch of times before it will work Anyone know why? and where i can get it fixed

  • Yes, this phone has a loudspeaker function.

  • can any one tell me that if this phone got speaker built in or not

  • the bluetooth code is "0000" by default

  • I had this phone before, and installed some games for it. It's hard to find games that are compatible. Tetris worked fine.

  • 10x bao. i have the euro version. it's a great phone even without games.

  • If you have the TM200 euro version, then it won't have any games preinstalled. But if you have the fareastone version, also called Sharp gx-t300, then it should come with 3 games.

  • Pleace give me bluetooth code . Help Help Help Help Help Help Help Help Help

  • mine didn't have any preinstalled games. can you tell me (here) if it should have games?

  • At the end we have a phone with some perfect components like the QVGA screen, the 2 Mpix camera which is even better than THE K750i, and we have some minuses like limited BT, external antenna and so on, but for only 150 euros is far better than, let's say SE K600 or the V3. The ones interested in buying this phone should also take a look at 802SH which costs about 200 euros, at least in my country.

  • Bought a datacable this week, and yes it works! Thanks.

  • You are right.. this phone does not transfer files with bluetooth. The only way to copy files is use of a usb cable or memorycard reader. The bluetooth is for handsfree use only.

  • I can't transfer/send items (pictures etc) with the use of a bluetoothdongle (Sitecom) between my computer and the TM200. It says: TM200 don't support filetransfer with usb device (bluetoothdongle). I had never problems with my old SE T610 phone. I install everything conform manual. What do i wrong? Or doesn't support the TM200 filetransfers with the use of an USB dongle?

  • I have a 512mb memory card in mine and it works fine. I think the max is a 1gb memory card.

  • I love Sharp phones: best in total quality! that's why many other brands have got Sharp parts inside their phones! The TM200 is a bit fatty and big for a shell but it's comfortable in all ways; holds pretty in your hand, well placed keys and a sublime big 262K screen. The camera takes beautiful pictures only autofocus take a few seconds (so keep still when you shoot a picture). Only drawback is the external antenna; replace it with a mini one! End conclusion: The TM200 is one of the best shell phones on today's market but the TM series is only for Tmobile users.

  • Bought it NEW a week ago on ebay Germany for less then 150 euro! This phone rocks. Display is better then on every other phone ive seen. Camera makes better pictures then the one from my brother (SE k750i). Does anyone know what the biggest SD cart is allowed in the tm200: 128, 256 or more mb?

  • Pleace code for Bluetooth

  • From all appearances, this phones has everything I want, however, I've been trying to find it at a reasonable price here in the USA. I actually have the tm150 and really like it, but I really like the fact that the tm200 has the flash, the 2.0 megapixels and the mp3 player. I do agree with others that it and the tm150 need to have betteries that last a lot longer. If anyone knows how I can get the tm200 for less than $300usd, and not through eBay, please feel free to email me.

  • In a German phone test this TM200 scored very badly. You can buy it now for 160 euro new in Germany (was about 400 a few months ago). The TM200 is a big ugly thing, if i can get it for free i don't want it!

  • Yes this phone is especialy made for T-mobile and has a T-mobile menu. The pink stripe isn't removable even whem you use a photo of your own as screensaver.

  • Question: is there always that pink T-Mobile stripe underneath the inner display, also when you use a pic of your own?

  • i have just got a tm 200..but it has a problem..gprs and blouthoot features are not opareted.soi need an soluition, please help me oabut this stiuation..in turkey is there any one to learn how to solve this problem..

  • I would like to upgrade from the TM 150.this seems like the better phone.I like the one I got as a birthday present, but it lacks a speakerphone and bluetooth.

  • vodafone mms and gprs settings are on the vodafone home page. download the sharp 902 settings but enter your phone number. it will work.

  • He Have a antena... this is not good

  • Ok, i have the TM150 and I like it alot. If you guys live in the USA, how are you getting the TM200? I have heard rumors it will be available for T Mobile in June or July of 2005, but I thought that the TM150 was Sharps only phone for the US? I want one!

  • i have one but its on vodafone pay as you go the camera is excellent but i cant get on line anyone now the vodafone settings please

  • compare it to the gx30 then! whats so good about an aquaos screen apart from being viewable at all angles?

  • You can't compare the screen with the 902 AQUOS screen is awesome! right now it's the best. Better than GX30/32, TM200, TM150, etc.

  • Not many people have this phone because it's WAY too expensive! I've heard nothing but good things from the people that do have it, but when I checked it out, the cheapest price was $622! Maybe if they lowered the price, more people could have a chance to purchase and write a review on it. No middle or lower class person would ever dream of paying over $600 for a cell phone, no matter how good it is.

  • is the screen better than the gx30 and the 902s? do photos look better on the tm200?

  • This phone is probably short lived like the TM150. Produced and sold for about three month period. Maybe that why.

  • Can anyone tell me, why there are only 100 reviews for this phone model when it has been released almost 5 months ago? The 902 got 1000 reviews already. Some Panasonic phone that has not even been released yet got almost 100 reviews by now. I'm just wondering is it because it is not available from third party dealers in europe as much as it is availabe from third party dealers in USA? that not many people bought this tm200?

  • is the screen better than the gx30?

  • Just got the TM200 today. It is really nice but I have one pretty big complaint. The volume is terribly low. It is hard to hear what anyone is saying if there is any outside noise at all. I have it set to "5" as the boys from Spinal Tap would say it needs to go to "11". I wonder if there is a way to get more volume out of it. Features great , phone functions not so.

  • hows the screen compared to the gx30. thanks for the review!

  • Jus bought this phone two days ago and already in love with this phone. I must tell you that tm 200 is an excellent update for for tm150. CONS: Excellent 2 magapixel camera Good voice clarity Good reception Loud ringtones Marked with T-Mobile brand! CONS: Battery life 3 hr talk time and 1 day standby Conclusion: Excellent job- Sharp. Yet, we need stronger batteries ( like 1600 mah at least for any 256k and up and 1megapixel + camera phones). Panasonis already produced 1600 mah batteries for its coming up models, so why haven't Sharp or Nokia or Samsung done the same????

  • I heard the only unrestricted blue tooth for this phone is from the handset to the pc. This dosnt allow the transfer of files from handset to handset. P.S this phone has bluetooth headset capabilities

  • does it have the same bluetooth problems as the gx30?

  • How is the MP3 Player? I have been looking for the best option for: camera quality MP3 player with best meory and quality and of course a good phone. Is this that phone? The Sony has had good parise for the pictures but it's memory is limited thus making mp3 player worthless. What is the best buy for these options?

  • Hi, anyone tell me where can I get this phone because I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee it soo much. I have checked it out in Hk, China, and Canada, but still cant find it!!! Please helppppppp me!!!

  • Does the TM200 have video ringtone like the N840? That would be sweet. I'm still undecided upon the Sharp GX-T300 and the Sony Ericsson W800 when they are available. Any thoughts? By then, I can ditch my reliable but "boring" V551. The N840 just doesn't seem right to me, just my thought.

  • you cant have mp3 ringtones. sorry

  • just a question, ive read alot about the phone and cant get a str8 answer on whether or not you can use the mp3s as ringtones. anyone with some knowledge about this phone and feature please let me know...thanks!!!!!!!

  • Can someone tell me how the ringtone volume and earpiece volume compare to the Sharp TM-150? Thanks

  • ONE MORE NOTE: For those who live in New York Metro area or nearby NJ/CT areas , do not be affraid of the price of this phone. You can go to Communication Telecom office , and check the phone before buying ( if you like the sound quality, photo quality, etc...) Just incert your T-Mobile or Cingular Sim Card and you can test the phone. TM 200 is the best cellular phone on the market!

  • I bought this phone at Communication Telecom www.no-air-time.com at their New York Office location . This phone is simply outstanding! This is the only camera phone that is worth of buying on today's market. Everything below 2 megapixel is not a decent digital camera and is not worth of buying and wasting your money on 1.0, 1.3 megapixels camera phones. TM 200 Has a truly high quality 2 megapixel cameras. The prints of the 4x6 size come out perfectly sharp and rich with a color. Other Pros of the Tm 200: -Clearest and smoothest sound quality of all cellular phones I have ever used. -Loud ringer -The most amazing 256k color screen I have ever seen -Decent battery life for a 2 megapixel camere phone ( about 3hours of talk time in one day and about 3 days on standby if talking on the in everage about 50 minutes daily) I give this phone 5 stars. Go Sharp!

  • is this phone available in the US?

  • Check if you have the right proxy server and port and password for the mms settings. About the bluetooth picturetransfer, I can't help you since I don't have bluetooth on my computer, but I did manage to copy the pictures well with the usb-cable.

  • Hi...I like the phone but i can't send mms with my provider(connex-romania), i can't transfer the photos from the phone via bluetooth altough i've installed on my computer sharphandset manager for tm200..Can anyone help me to resolve this problems? Thanks

  • if you're gonna buy one from hong kong look for the Sharp GX T300 or something. It's the same phone but without the T-Mobile branding

  • If it's an unlocked phone, then you will be able to use it in HK. Just ask the one selling it if its unlocked or not. The phone takes great pictures in 1mpixel mode.. better than the D500 and S700i IMO, but in 2mpixel mode, its more fifty fifty if the picture turns out good or not. It is definately better than the gx30/32.

  • i am planning to bid one from ebay . but i have no idea whether this phone can use in hk or not . cos some user said it is locked by tmobile . while it is not yet avaible in hk

  • from scren before take the foto at 2mp the picture is good, after take the foto is change quality, move picture in down and lose more clarity. Resolution at 640-480is good . no mp3 ring tone and very slou polifonic tone, hei sharp don"t go try to fix that problem, the bateri 2-3 day{acceptable}I sel-it at400E.SOORY SHARP my englis is bad im from romania and whant the new panasonic v57 -mx7 or sa7.please send e-mail [email protected]

  • Also, forgot to add: Why not many people talk about picture quality of this phone? I'm very interested to know how is the quality of the photo? Can you really call it 2 megapixel? And most of all how is this phone comparing to self-proclaimed best phone s700i (by SonyEriccson)?

  • Anyone who owns this phone, could you share with us the following: -how is the battery life? -how is the voice clarity? -how easy to use the menu?

  • It is available in Hong Kong.

  • Is this phone available in china?

  • how much % of photos taken with the tm200 come out well?

  • I see you alot of you guys already have this camera, so why don't you show the photos that are taken by this camera? Create a homepage with photos, or add the photos to your existing homepage, and give us the link to the homepage. That would be much better rather than empty critisism.

  • what percent of photos you take come out well, as in not blurred? my gx30- about 50% came out well.

  • Great phone. Despite that it is lacking some features this phone is perfect as a camera.I want to ask all people who complains about MP3 ,dvd etc... fetures that they think should be in the cellular phone: Do you really think that high quality digital camera is not enough for a cell, phone???? We can't get too further than that, otherwise all you young generation will do is play with your phones. Now , I've heard from qualified sourse, that 2megapixel sharp phone is coming to T-Mobile USA within next month. So I would suggest that you guys wait a little before buying the european sharp phone.

  • anyone looking to sell their sharp tm200

  • The shuttertime is abit slow, but not too slow. The pictures come out quite nice, mostly in 1mp mode or large mode. When you use 2mp mode, it's a bit slow, and it is a bit noise on the picture. But all in all, I'm very satisfied with the camera. Pictures taken with the mobile:

  • nice, thanks. how is the shutter speed? does it produce blurry pics ofen?

  • The screen is slightly better than the gx32. One important thing is that if your country does not have t-mobile, u can't use the features mms and wap. I have this confirmed by t-mobile. This is a software restriction. I live in norway, so I can't use them features since we don't have T-mobile here in norway. Other than that, the phone is great. The camera with autofocus is superb.

  • i know you cant play dvd movies, there is a limit of 300kb for vid. anyone have any info on the screen quality compared to the gx30, as asked a couple of posts down?

  • can you play dvd movies like you can on the 902 can somebody email me the answer if you knew it thanks thanki tode lo bobba ubba

  • can someone compare the screen to the gx30? is it any better. also, on screen, is the camera any better than the gx30? (faster shutter speed etc) can you create folders for photos?

  • Can some one please tell me how to remove the Big antenna to replace with a smaller one? And is it the same size(the hole to fit the antenna in) the same with those GX30's? Thanks.

  • and the slideshow at lower resolutions is fine yeah?

  • its slideshow feature in this phone. I have it myself, so I know.

  • From another forum I've read this post "Hi all! I have the TM200 from T-Mobile... It's really cool, but some things are bad: - no MP3 ringtones - no full bluetooth object exchange... only with the sharp PC software, but this isn't yet available for the TM200 at the moment... - no videos over 300kb can be played" Is this true? Don't get me wrong, I like this phone a lot, but these restrictions stopped me from getting this phone. Also, I live in Canada. A store sells this unlocked for $770CAD=$550US. Since there is no T-mobile in Canada, probably they un-locked it. Would there be any problems? Heard rumours before about unlocking TM-100 with lots of problems. Please verify this for me, thank you.

  • is it instant pic taking in normal light?

  • if there is a shutter setting "shutter priority" and "aperture priority" on your unit, setting it to "aperture priority" when at night will definitely make the picture taking better during night time, only thing is that you have to hold the phone very still in order to take a clear fuzz free picture. If it doesn't have shutter/aperture priority, set the shutter speed to "slowest" so it will keep the aperture open longer and that way it will give more time for light to enter the CCD and get a brighter pic during night. practice and you will know how to set it depending how dark/light is is.

  • thats cool. how is the shutter speed, especially in low light? does the size of the pic affect how fast it snaps the picture? thakns for answering guys it means a LOT

  • Yes, the smaller size you select (picture resolution to like 640x480 (VGA) is much faster than the full 2MP.

  • does the size of the pictureyou take (eg less than MP compared to 2MP)change the lag time of the sldeshow?

  • Well... when T-mobile have Sharp manufature their model they start to cut corners, so that's why there is no slide show on the TM200. Sadly there are a lots of good feature missing compared to the one's that comes out in Japan (I don't know of any TM200 model or this model that came out in Japan, TM200 must be exclusive to T-mobile). You just have to live with what you have.

  • yeah but the 902 doesnt have any slideshow, you have to open each individually

  • im gonna buy the tm200 soon but its to bad it dosent have any optical zoom

  • do anybody now how long videos you can take with it and also how much zoom it got

  • The lag is about 10 seconds. It's dead slow compared to the V801SH or the V902SH.

  • i dont quite understand that. you can skip from one photo to the next full screen yeah? how long is the lag after hitting the 'next photo' to seeing the next photo? also can you create folders for photos?

  • opening up the small slide show takes heck of a long time! To open a photo from the small slide it takes about 10 seconds to open one photo! on the V802SH, V902SH's it only takes half a seconds to open a photo and to view the small slide, 802, 902 is instant but the TM200 takes half a minute to show 4 or 5 small slide show...

  • how long does it take to open a 2mp photo then? also, cant you just view all your pictures as a slideshow, which saves you opening them individually?

  • Quality is low grade compared to the one's made in Japan... Everything is slow from viewing a picture from a memory card (take's forever!), etc, etc. That's what you get for in the GSM market.

  • does this phone have limited bluetooth like gx32 or no limitations? also how long is the video recording?

  • will this phone be out in malaysia n how much does it costs?

  • For Blone girl; It's allready released in Germany. Other Europe countries follows 1st quarter 2005.

  • to nned help: You can't compare the V902SH and the TM200. The 902 will blow away the TM200 anyday! Look at the specifications! I don't have to write any more about it.

  • Does anybody know when the TM200 is due to come out in the uk???

  • To Nurudeen; with a Credit card you can buy worldwide (also at internet). Coupon code? I don't know what that means either.

  • Excellent phone. The best quality there is. Sharp is no1 if you want the best! The TM200 picture's are much better then s700 a friend have. One little - point; extern antenna...why Sharp?

  • i would really wonder which is better 902 or this tm200. cos i like tm 200 cos of the external screen while i like 902 cos got two camera....but no external colour screen........cos i would like to choose something near the design of gx 30 but .....confuss

  • please i do not understand what the GSM importer mean by coupon code.I have only mastercard, does that mean i can buy GSMonline.please help me out.

  • Oh yeah, got my unlocked V902SH. Great phone works fine with T-mobile SIM card!

  • I don't say that 350 euro isn't much money (just read)!! If you compare the TM200 with others like the s700 or d500, then he isn't expensive at all!! Other brands costs much more.

  • how does anybody think this would compare to a NEC N840? they seem to match eichother very well..

  • $350 Euro is a lot of money for some... Ebay.de got a great price and I posted that a couple posts back as well. Yet I believe that it is a suitable price and shouldn't be beaten by any means (I'm talking RRP and buy-it-now, not auctioning). Sharp phones have a high quality standard, and selling them too cheaply, or even in mass (like Samsungs phones) would ruin their image and popularity. I don't see the TM200 as a trend-phone, but not as a business phone either. I think it's definatelly a valuable Multimedia phone and for people who really use the camera, mp3 player internet etc...but I don't think it will sell in great quantities. I have the GX20 and use the pictures I take for the internet, ebay and MMS. If I would get the TM200 I am convinced that I would not need a digital camera, MP3 player etc... I would have it all in one. But then again, others just play with the features once or twice and never touch them again. I see people with a GX30, and Apple I-Pod and a CASIO 4 MPx camera and wonder sometimes... You can extend the SD Memory to 512MB on the GX30 and TM200, have a 1 and 2 MPx Camera which is sufficient for high-quality 13 x 8 cm print outs, listen to MP3's, browse the net, play games etc etc...for a normal everyday person this would be enough. People with digital cameras either print their images or put them on the web (if even)... so the GX30, TM200 and 902/802 phones have it all. So I find the price justified for what you are getting. My two cents.... ;)

  • This phone isn't expensive. You can buy it new for 350 euro at Ebay.de (for example; D500 costs 450, S700 costs 500). So the TM200 is not an expensive phone!

  • CHEAP @ unknown Exactly...the quality of the SHARP phones is one of the highest available. The camera, screen and manufacturing are high-class and that's why I think the price MUST NOT be cheap. You ruin your image by selling phones like these for a throw-away price. Save up for one and you'll be even happier once you own it. Allright...you all have a great week.

  • Well, customer here must just be cheap... And just expecting more for less, a 2MP camera phone is not cheap anywhere so you're right, the people I deal with are tight, cheap, etc.. I guess that's all I can say. I usually say that if you want quality you gotta pay the price, but they (customer) doesn't seem to understand why just a two-way cell phone would cost so much, duh! you're paying for the high quality camera and other feature that the cheap one doesn't have.

  • THE PRICE Ok,...I just checked t-mobile.de and the price is Euro 149 with E 25 monthly charges over 24 Months. Are you kidding??? THAT'S NOT EXPENSIVE. You all have to consider what this phone can do... Vodafone sells the V902SH for E 360 over 24 months...and the TM200 is just as good. This phone isn't meant to be cheap. If you can afford the technology...then buy it. If not...bad luck. Nothings for free guys. And you won't get this phone cheaply either...check out ebay I found it there for E 360 buy-it-now.

  • T-mobile you gotta bring the price down if you want to sell this phone even with activation. The TM150 was so expensive it didn't hardly sell with activation. make the price cheaper if you want to sell!

  • Can you please post some of the pics that you have taken with the phone ?Very Thanks

  • Hey Paul from Holland, Can you please post some of the pics that you have taken with the phone ? Thanks

  • get a SD card reader and download it to the PC or get a USB cable + software from eBay and upload picture to the phone. either way it's possible.

  • Can someone please upload pics taken from the phone ??

  • Don't understand the low voting rate of 7.4. I've bought this phone a few weeks ago and it's great. You can even call without open the phone, it has a handsfree speaker. The 2mp camera is fantastic also the 262K screen is. I replaced the "big" antenna for a mini metal one. This phone is cheaper then a s700 or d500 but offers the same. tm200=great!

  • I've seen the TM200 for Buy-it-now on ebay.de priced at around Euro 360. That's not a bad price at all, quite affordable compared to E 999 for the 902. I would consider buying the TM200 over the 902 because it has Autofocus, and for the simple reason that I do not require all the UMTS services. Video talk is nice, but not a necessity, same with broadband internet.

  • It seems one important feature (to me anyways) that Sharp seem adamant to exclude is an ACTIVE FLIP! All previous Sharp clamshells have been missing this feature, which IMHO is the ONE unique selling point of clamshells/flip phones. If you can answer calls just by flipping the TM200 open, it'll be a miracle.. TT

  • Good feature, but I think T-mobile's price will be be just too much for the regular and even serious shopper and only a small amount will be sold just like the TM-150.

  • @ unknown Size of Mobiles: Ok, 320 x 240 px with only 2.2" is already the smallest/most compressed screen you can get. If you want it smaller it'll have to be a Motorola 176 x 240 px screen, which is crap. I want to see my photos and this screen is perfect! This phone is already small, what are you complaining about??? I want a phone that fits into my hand without dropping it or loosing it due to it's mini measures. I would not compromise a CCD for a CMOS, never. SHARP phones have amazing cameras (for mobile phones) and that's what makes them so great. As I said before, if you want performance and features you must accept this size. Otherwise get the new Samsung X460, it's small, light and has nothing near the specs of the TM200. It's up to you.

  • The forth coming appearance of the TM200 was mentioned to me by a UK T-Mobile operator in their disconnections section a week ago although he said may not be until Late Jan/Feb even March. Have seen information written in German on the UK Sharp site. All things point to a UK release in the next quarter. I'll have one please!

  • ok people do some investigating. no its not coming out on voda, tm (tm200) means its locked to t mobile however there is a chance that it will not be arriving in the uk. the p730 and p735 were also suipposed to arrive in the uk but they didnt. so far only germany have the tm-200. shame really as it really could have done well. dont give up though. sharp did launch the tm 100 in the uk however that looked like a crap.

  • Bluetooth is unlimited!! can transfer music, photos, games etc from any computer to the phone!!

  • whoa!!! 2 megapixel brother, i don't mind the weight. Compare Nokia phones? 1 megapixels is damn big already EG. 7610, 6670. Coming out the 6630 is the most stupid things!!! lolx.. this fone compared to Nokia, Sharp definitely has some standard.

  • I am a current owner of a GX30 and i am wondering if 1. this would be worth the upgrade and 2. if the bluetooth is limited again or if, unlike vodafone, tmobile blocked bluetooth to other devices.

  • Put of buying the Nokia 6630 when i saw this baby. All i know its 2mp camera and its on T Mobile in Germany but does anyone know when it is coming out in the UK. It must be coming out right?

  • Where can I buy it ?? Is there any website selling it ?? Will it work on Tmobile US ?

  • Sorry the URL is www.sharp-mobile.com/tm/

  • COOL! I want it. TM series homepage so that you can download the brochure.

  • its avalible now!! In the german T-Mobiles Online-Shop for 150 euros inkl with a Relax 100 tariff... I want one badly ;)

  • where does it say 8x optical zoom?

  • can i define mp3 songs for ringtones?

  • How much will this mobile be?????

  • TM means its locked to t-mobile like the previous tm100.

  • When is it coming out ???

  • yes i kno they hav all the gadgets inside that need space...bt QVGA screen is jst too big...the whole screen looks empty...i kno its great for takin pics n wallpapers bt stil...they shud make smaller screens with same resolution (yes they can)..n cam...they shud b able to make them smaller too...look at SS D500..i kno its using CMOS bt its not much worse than CCD n look at SS S250 its using 5Mpixel CCD n the size isnt much bigger than thes sharps. im not sayin these r bad fones bt its too big...try jogging with a 100g+ lump of metal in ur pocket...not very enjoyable esp when u forgot to put ur belt on...mobile phones should be MOBILE N PORTABLE

  • This has the BEST features I have come across and the camera - 8x OPTICAL ZOOM! Thats cool!

  • They're getting not that much bigger... You should consider the screen size, memory, camera etc... It all needs space. Mobiles from a decade were b/w screen, 200k memory and thats it. So what are you complaining about? If you want a smaller mobile then buy one, there are plenty out there (LG 7020 etc), but if you want the latest technology like this then get used to the size. Maybe in the future they will slim down a bit, but I don't think much.

  • looks like this is going to be the succesor of the GX30

  • i wudve bought a sharp if they cud make their fones smaller n lighter using their great tech....thers no way im gettin a sharp nor SE S700 TOO HUGE! y is the trend reversing...the fones were gettin smaller n smaller during the last decade.....n its gettin bigger n bigger n BIGGER

  • Excellent device! Compared with V902SH, TM200 must be very competitive.

  • Ya, when is it coming out ?? At one of the German websites it said the release date is 4th Dec. But there were no release dates for Europe or N. America.

  • when id dis comin out????????????

  • Nice one! I would say that the features (preliminary) are standard. They are not the best, yet they don't suck, they are up to the standard that has been set by this time. SD-Card, MP3 etc. is no longer something new...people expect it in phones. The 2 MP camera is still really good and if it is the quality that I'm used to (GX20) then I think this fone will be a hit. I like the design. I must say that SHARP is sticking to some very basic marketing rules: Branding power and consistency. I mean this in a good way. The phones don't look too different from each other, but yet there are simple changes and in this case (TM200) I like the sleekness and simple looks. The camera is well incorporated into the design, very symmetrical. The screen this phone uses is "TFT", but with no indication to whether it is a CGS-TFT. I wonder why only the GX20 and GX30 (and TM100?) use it...does anyone know? I am not quite sure where this phone will fit in... I guess it has been produced to give the same quality and features to GSM-only (With no Vodafone-UMTS) countries, where the V902SH and V802SH are not available. So it's a smart move, since many people desired the 902 and were quite disappointed when they found out they couldn't get it. America and Australia, start partying ;) I also hope that this phone is not Vodafone branded, and has a better scheduler in it. These great phones only loose points by not incorporating better managing and personal-assistant features. Ok, well here you got my two cents. Everyone have a great day ;) Skater42

  • Design looks ugly for Sharp... Although 2MP camera, I wouldn't buy it. Don't want to walk around with this thing that looks like a premature motorola

  • lets hope it plays mpeg4 videos and its unlimited recording, full bluetooth and infrared

  • this phn is the best. waiting to see it. no doubt just....2 mp, ext mem, bluet, 256K best features I have ever examined.
