Siemens C55 - User Reviews

  • Wao ...!! i love that ;phone i was really impressed when it first came oun in 2002 , i was studying that time and GPRS modem was an amazing feature of that phone .. to connect to internet with your PHone and GSM sim ...it was a blessing by that time... where no Wifi existed...

  • I still use my Siemens C55 today, and since year 2002. I had to change battery twice but it's working very good! I just need to change the back cover and it will be fine.

  • Siemens C55 was a awesome mobile phone, i used it from 2004 to 2007. long lasting, small, light in weight & very easy to use with a very nice quality... My old memories...;)

  • For me this phone is much better than Nokia 3310. I am not talking about durability but Siemens always had more and unique features

  • Siemens C55 is probably going to be listed in guinness book of records for most long lasting and loved phone in the world ..Miracle of German Engineering. IT'S BEST PHONE EVER ...ABSOLUTELY. ..

  • My first mobile phone, and after changing 9 mobiles and converting to smart phones, it's still the best.

  • Hello. When will this phone update to Nougat?

  • Amazing phone! Was in use long time ago. Never let me down.

  • in Europe there existed a t-mobile Version with black/silver cover and a blue display. Loved that version of the phone !

  • yes this phone design & ring tones was very awesome,it was stolen form my pocket during travel. i want to buy this phone. i really miss this phone if this one is available in market, i will happy to buy!

  • i bought this cell phone c55 in 2002 and since then this phone is never switched off I have bought several phones since then of other makes but none survived this long. I think C55 is miracle of cell phone design ... It just goes n goes n goes .. I wish Siemens should build Android phones based on C55 Technology design battery etc ...Well done Siemens ..Hats off to German Engineering..

  • This is my first mobile phone. My father bought it in 2003 when I was in college. Now I really miss this phone.

  • I bought this phone in 2002 and I still use it! A keyboard sometimes doesn't recognise some key presses, but otherwise it works like first day! It's also very durable. I'll use this phone as long as it work.

  • this phone is the best. i bought it the first day in came out and its been working ever since. went MIA on the phone for a couple of years and then back in action again this is still working

  • This was the second phone I bought, in the year 2003, and at that time it used to be the best phone recomended by the GSM. I also was the Rockstar of Cellphones due to its polyphonic tones......I miss those times and this phone alot....

  • a great phone, never hangs up, light & small really missing it

  • C55 Was the first mobile telephone in my family. We bought it on 2002. It has never been in service and steel working properly. I droped it many times but it is working without damages. Cell is first and old. I must charge it every day. I have great comunications with the other phones. I think C55 is the miracle of the phones.

  • really awesome ,my first ever phone which i bought by begging my parents to let me have one and give me some money for that while i was studying it was in 2003 . loved that phone very distinctive and colorful in those days while other people were enjoying the 3310 era this mobile stood apart in design and build quality

  • you r great n genious

  • the best cell that I have ever had

  • My first phone ,very nice is still working.

  • Sorry about that, but I wonder who would ever bother stealing this phone these days.

  • i purchased mine in 2002 , still working hardely , really its very good mobile

  • I bought mine 2nd hand in 2006. as for today (9/2011), it is still working properly, with only one minor malfunction which has started 5 months ago. the original charger cannot charges the cellphone anymore. But it doesn't matter, because I have two batteries and I use a desktop charger to re-charge each.

  • Excellent phone! Still works perfectly in 2011, unfortunately it was stolen 2 weeks ago. Still missing it.

  • I got mine in 2003 as well and it is working OK in 2011, they made things to last in those days!

  • I bought mine in 2003, still works perfectly in 2011! That is more than any of uptodate phones can offer.

  • im looking for the charger that can work with the fone or charger that works for this fone??????

  • bought in in 2004, and now in the end of 2010,it still works..though need to be charge everyday

  • This was my first ever cell phone. Compared to many out now, including my new one (though I'm still not into the wave of smartphones), it's basically a dinosaur, but it completed all I needed it for at the time - calls and texts. Now all I do is text and mobile web! Haha. I was fifteen when I had this phone, and I kinda miss it, just for the nostalgia.

  • aaaaaawwww missing my old days... best phone ever had :(

  • Itwas my first phone and still miss it

  • I Bought C55 as my First hand set in March 2003, And it is still in great condition, working perfectly, Although I have changed lots of set meanwhile, but C55 stays with me. I love this master piece from Siemens.

  • This phone is awesomely reliable and has a lot of features for when it was released. I bought it a few months after it was released and it still works perfect!

  • Avery good phoce that I can compare to non.

  • Hi.. Can you please tell me where can I get Charger and Battery for this cell? If someone has the used charger I would like to go for it.. This was the first cell I used and I have lots of sentiments on it..

  • refresh/replace firmware. googling can help you in finding c55 firmware. good luck

  • I'm dead serious when I'm saying that I'm just about to order a new battery for my C55 to be able to use it for yet another few years. It's simply a great phone.

  • It was d 1st handset i got started wid.. almost 6 yrs ago! It was really really awesome! I doesn't work now, but i've still kept it up! :)

  • this was my favorit mobile phone, it was the most practical ever. i was sad when it stoped to work after 4 years :)

  • Totally agree - I dread when it dies & I will have to replace. Have had it about 6-7 years. It's the best!

  • I have this hand set from 2003 but till today i unable to use this phone because of network search display. I had tried to repair with many mobile repairing centre but they were unable to rectify this. please let me know how can i solve my problem. • Very impressive loking phone...

  • Iam using this model but many of them are in problem of display. So I request the owner to modfy about it not only that but also make an improvement in betteries of these.

  • I've used it for like almost 6 years, then the screen had a crack. so i bought a k850i. which isn't that durable compared with this thingy

  • i use it in 2009.the best phone ever!!! thank you god

  • My most reliable mobile phone ever... I have it for at least 6 years and it still works. The battery has more juice than my other modern phones, falled in to the floor several times and is still ready to race. Has no match in durability.

  • I use this in 2004, i love phone, because it is very lightweight, easy to use, very durable, you can extend the battery life for 1 week,.

  • siemens c55 adalah salah satu hp terbaik yang pernah aq miliki & Siemens tentunya sebagai produsennya. pokoknya siemens is the best..... Be Inspired :)

  • i must say this is one durable phone, still using it in 2008 lol.Droped it at least 100 times , no problems ever! they dont build them like this any more...

  • Its perfect. I droped it in the toilet and works witout problem.November2008

  • c55 was second mobile phone, very very good ,use full and memento

  • i wud say it is one of da very best i'v been usin it since last 6 years but never gave me any kind a problem

  • best phone ive ever had, had it since new and still use it every day. nobody can beleive its still works but it just keeps on going. great phone cheers brenton

  • My 2nd ever phone. Loved the glow in the dark case and blue screen. Audio recorder was lousy though.

  • This is my second phone i ever use , and i was very excited when i buy this phone,it was very compact and beautyfull phone at that time.

  • Siemens C55 is d best! :)it was d 1st fone i evr used! Still i misS it's features.. It's battery was long lasting.. Ah! I dont know wht happend to it now.. :( miss you swee2.. ;>

  • i bought this phone when i joined the copmany in work in now i think 4 years ago or more i dont really remmeber i still have it of course i bought another one now but i like it coz he was my succses mate

  • This old one was the first cel I had here in Costa Rica! It was one of the first cels that can send images inside a text message! It get wet under a big rainy day, and it still works!! For me, it's a shame that Siemens doesn't continue offering technical and costumer service. Nowadays, it's still working, excepts for the old battery, that I can't buy another one :(. I think it was the best cel in whole world!!!

  • Its perfect and best little mobile phone ever possessed. Good reception and no problems. Bravo!

  • this phone is one of the best phone in the world. siemens made it so good, that no disaster can ever possibly broke it

  • I wanted my parents to get me a new phone. So purposly dipped it in water. But never spoil. Now got Nokia N81 8GB. But i still prefer siemens as it is very very simple to use.

  • It's still working! I use it since 2002 and still do! And I haven't any problems with that phone.

  • I LOVE this cellphone!

  • it works even after i drop it into the sea. :] lots of times i prefer using this one than my SE K750. :] if Siemens would make this phone with adding some features that are in new phones, it definetely become a top-seller. ;]

  • Well folks! C55 is one of the best sets i have ever had. one of the most reliable stes ever. have used many others but not a match to the C55. However, after usinf it for 4-5 years, i need its clipit and battery both are worn out. would like to keep it till it stops functioning its that good

  • i've used it for nearly 4 years and its battery still holds up to 4 days!

  • C55, one of the best phones ever, bought it in early 2003 and it still works pretty well...this is despite me dropping it several times!just bought an SL75 and its a no no. any ideas on which Siemens i shoud buy? Kenya

  • One of the most reliable phones I have ever purchased. Bought it in 2003 and still works perfectly today! Loved the Prince of Persia game that came with it!

  • i got this phone, it's awesome. love it...gotta a good design, reliable. very good

  • Cute little phone. Used to have one. Gave it to my son. Still working 5 years after I bought it. Good phone for anyone who doesn't want anything fancy. =)

  • Chuck Norris made this phone, and he saw that it was good :-)

  • One of the best phones ever built. Truly reliable.

  • Great phone at the time. Text input was nice. Easy to customise menus and shortcuts. I had the silver one with cool blue backlights :D Unfortunately after about 10 months of owning it, it got to a stage were it would turn off whenever I pressed 4 or sometimes other keys in that area. Very disappointing. Keys were a bit small and uncomfortable. Battery lasted forever!

  • i also had such piece. Loved it. Nice and compact. although it had some error after droping it into cottage cheese and sold it after that. what a pitty, i kind a miss it. but then again wouldn't take it back. it's little aged by know.

  • my siemens C55 wap dose not work how can i start using it please tony

  • small, compact, resistant, but too quiet. it only has two melodies that are relatively loud so i had to set them up for important groups. other melodies are so quiet i sometimes didn't hear the phone "ringing". i have it for three years now and i will not change it untill it stops working

  • Hi, My mobile keeps switching itself OFF at least once or twice a day. Is there a feature where you can preset the phone to turn off automatically after a certain amount of time? I have lost my manual and am really stuck as I have missed important calls. Please help me!

  • C55 actually did work!!! This is one hell of a great feature you might wanna have in a cell phone! And you know what, I believe this is the most distinct quality in Siemens mobiles. And yet... I'm not a mortal anymore, I own a Motorola SLVR L7! Back to the issue... C55 had amazing sound control... Meaning, you can record sounds and do whatever you want with them (nowadays, cells have all kinds of limitations). If I returned to past, I would buy it again, for sure.

  • this phone is really nice...i used it for around 3 years but there wasn't any problem...unfortunatlly someboday stole it...During 3 years when i used it, theres many things had happen which i can't tell...Shhh i loved the special design of the case with glow in the dark... i was kinda scared of the darkness...but after i had that phone, i wasn't scared of anything. That phone gaves me luck and everything! meaning to say, when i gained this phone,i had gain my first love and when i had lose this phone,i had lost my first love too. so now i m using Samsung which is much n much better phone but it doesn't really mean anything to me.

  • Great Phone. really a phone to depend on. i've had mine for 3 yrs now. used it fully for 2 yrs quite a sturdy phone with great ringtone quality and highly stable. no problem if it drops. quite good body construction with a nice and small shape. i changed to a nokia 6230i last summer and surely had a very bad time with it in 3 months i had 3 sets replaced. lucky that i did not sell of my C55, it was always with me and still remains with me as a backup. these new phones have a lot of bugs and need quite a lot of care. my next phone will surely be a siemens, german technology is the best.

  • In one word, that's great. I can't replace it with new phones.

  • it is a phone with so many functions like those of the camera type. but it has a problem of on&off. no power on after 2 weeks of purchase

  • welll its very gud though it doesnt have those features v get nowadays in many other mobiles but still it ROCKS . i've been usin dis set for 2 n a half yr now !i dropped it many times on floor but still havin no prob. its cool smart n simple !

  • this is a great phone compared to other black an white screen phones, lots of features which you would expect from a color screen phone

  • i cannot see the download of voice record in it it is defficult to serch for

  • I LOVE THIS PHONE, I LOVE SIEMENS MOBILE. Seimens's produsts is very high technology. They are very very better than other phones. I love SIEMENS.

  • I had my C55 for over a year before i upgraded to a nokia, its not a bad phone, however the ring tone volume is very low, i missed many calls. It also pretty backwards with todays technology it doent have a colour sceen or many features, woulndt recomend it to those who want to be able to download stuff or access the internet. I think there are other phones that will give you better value for money.

  • I like this phone it is great it dropped down hundreds of times and nothing happened to it. it is small, light, hardworker, and much better than nokias that i used to use.

  • I'm sorry for all of persons who have flushed their phones down the tolet, or broke their charging devices, but this phone is so great-lon g life, it doesn't brake so easy!I've got mine from 18.02.2003 and i'm verry happy whit its preformance!!!And sorry for the English I'm Bulgarian!!!

  • when l saw this phone l really like it ,but when l bought l dont enjoyed 4 a day att all. l have a problem with it charger , it doesnt charge , network failure most of the time . the batteries is not good if l charge it full, it would stay 4 2 hours before it run down.

  • i ve got this mobile since 2003 and i ve never got problem.. its small, pretty and he does what he has to do.. nothing more.. it's quite cool... sorry for my english but i'm italian..:)

  • Hey all, DONT BUY THIS PHONE!!... I had mine for a few weeks and flushed it down the TOILET!!!... You cant hear the ringer when ppl call.. You cant hear them when you're in a call.. Sure its small and light.. Very POOR phone.. Nokia Rules.. Siemans well u know.. :P

  • I got this Phone for almost 2 years, well I guess is a pretty good phone. Easy to carrying around, Cute design and simple too Love it :) I have dropped many time, and still work perfectly, sound pretty good. lound volume and download ringtones. But one thing I hate abt this phone is I just cant find a perfect and nice shells(Color) for my phone. well I had read lots of complaing abt phones... I think why phone wont work that great b/c it have too much features.. like ppls asking for Mp3, bluetooth, wallpaper, camera n ect. n thats da reason cause phone wont work that great.. missing this n that. Ohwell, wan to hear MP3? just bring mp3 player w/ u and abt camera? just bring a small one same side as phone.(u can buy from any store n cheap too)

  • c55 how can i use internet in my pc

  • please can somebody tell me how to write a ringtones on my siemens S45i please send me instructions about it on my mail

  • I bought this phone last year. It's the best GSM phone I've ever had!

  • can i upgrade my memory

  • i like it very much because of record and save in to tone

  • this is not such a good phone. I had mine for almost 6 months, and the battery seems to last less and less as time goes by. the most annoying thing was that I sometimes could not hear the other person, and he could not hear me. but only for 4 seconds. a lot of irritation. not to mention the bodywork, which is too lite, i have already broken 3 shells, as i droped it on the floor. try to find another mobile !

  • It's a great little phone. Long standby time, small format, easy navigation. The only bad thing about it is that the shell is pretty easy to brake and it's hard to find a replacement for it.

  • "wrong software" what can i do with this massege plz eny one tell me

  • Its cool except that mine is logged to a particular network in my country. Why is it so? Why can't I use other sim cards of other networks in it?

  • I love my C55, it has a simple & cute design. The ringing tones are a bit low in actual call and the memory's too small, but i still love it!

  • this is a phone only for work not for fun ,because it has a good programing but a bad foto so you can have it if you do not care to foto & sound quality ...

  • I love to hack it!

  • hi friends,I have a question. my c55 accept 30 characters for the names in phone book but know it just accepts 14 characters what is the reason? I've deleted some entries and all messages but it did'nt repaired.

  • chkout nlo.gsmhosting.net or search Google for :- nlo's c55 page has good stuff and software too.

  • Veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad phone. I thing this phone is the worst phone in the world. Easy to demage. It's body has a bad construction.

  • good phone, difficult to find datasuite or similar software, maybe there in no any?

  • Well it is a nice mobile but it has some "bugs" and it is a bit difficult to use it.Also even now it's sold in a not so cheap for it's kind price.

  • "wrong software"....c55 its a fucked movile sheet!!! dont build it!!

  • Its very Nice

  • i love to get this type of phone cos it is very convinient and safe in the pocket.

  • Hi, How can I tell an original siemens C55 & its accessories from a clone/generic/imitation

  • I am looking for Chessbuddy midlet-version DIRECTLY for C55. It is not possible to buy it in Hungary. Can anyone help me?

  • the c55 is the best looking phone that you can get

  • I need help about turning on java on my C55. ( With Original Serial Cable ) Is that possible ?

  • I have mine in Blue Kiss and it glows in the dark, with a blue backlit screen and orange backlit keypad. Now, that looks groovy in a dark room! Not a colour phone but certainly a colourful one! Regarding peoples complains that the ringtone is not loud, that simply may be their own error. Siemens' setting goes from low 1 bar to high 4 bar, and then if you go past 4 bar to the "highest" setting at position 5, you'll set the phone to increasing ring! Thus your phones will start off ringing softly. At position 4, my phone is loud enough to hear, even if kept in my bag while riding on a bus, so that's pretty good. Good points, Siemens menu system, it so customisable, and very, very fast. With the combination of shortcut Menu keys, Speed Dial keys and the left soft Control Key set to My Menu, I virtually have super quick, 2-3 key presses to access any function. And then there is more, as you can add voice commands to access the functions too. (Siemens implementation of voice commands works perfectly everytime, even in relatively noisy environments!) I never have to use the menu system. Furthermore, one key press to lock/unlock the phone, turn off ring tones, voice dial, change profiles, screen calls, hide ID, turn GPRS or illumination on/off to extend battery life... and you'll have to agree that's not so easily done on any Nokias or SEs. And the text messaging is soooo fast! Hit the menu key 3 time quickly and you're there on the write screen. T9 works brilliantly and switching to multitap for those cool words not in the dictionary is a breeze. I've got to say, that this is one phone that has NO lag in the menu or SMS. Ok, there is an acceptable lag in searching the phonebook, and that's about it. Other not so cool points include the implementation of Java which is a tad slow too. There is no Cell Information on the Siemens and you'll have to manually set Cell Broadcast to Channel 50. (CB on Siemens just like GPRS seems to chew up power, so I set up speed key to turn them on/off.) Most importantly, the reception is awesome, dailog both ends is exceptionally clear and loud, dialog never breaks up like on the Nokias or sounds slightly muffled like on the SEs. Yes it is a low end phone, no address book, but all in all, it is easily the best non-colour screen phone around. If you are after practical cool, and not techno cool, the C55 is hard to beat, there is no competition. And look, it's lighter that the C62, has longer battery life, and has a very useful greetings list. And look no Voice dial on C62! The C55s are getting pretty scarce too, and while they are cheap now, get one before they become unavailable. For what the phone was designed to do, it does so pretty close to perfection!

  • is realy a phone beautifull in the color blue, I like me have this phone.

  • Ringtone is not loud, When you walk on the open air you cannot hear ringtone. This is the defect and It often shuts down itself, Other one is like as me ?

  • Hi, I compared sensivity C55 with samsung c100. C55 very nice phone, but it's sensivity is lower than samsung c100.

  • I had the C55 and thought it was a great little phones for the price.Excellent features never had a problem and then got the S.E T300 which is also an excellent fone with gud features but duzn't take very gud photos wid the camera cos of the colour display and a bit bulky. Now i have pre-ordered the Mot V500.

  • I'm loving it!

  • I bought one c55 and im very happy with him. Here in Brazil its very expensive and almost top of line siemens. Im enchanted with my mobile phone.

  • it should possesmthe coloured screen

  • this phone is excellent for it's price! good features... n pretty much durable.. dropped the damn thing a few times, and it still works! i couldve done better with more memory though..

  • khurram: MIDI and IMA ADPCM compressed WAV (8 kHz, 4 bit). For that WAV format you could use for example CoolEdit.

  • i wanted to know what format are the polyhonic tones in: ex. Midi or Mmf.

  • please siemens provide date and time stamp for outgoing calls just like for incoming calls

  • hi.i bought this phone.its reallynice i love this phone alot.but now am planning to but MC60.all i want t2 say plz add Radio as well thankx bye

  • My fiancee has this phone and absolutely loves it, proper girly phone, easy to use etc etc. and a very reasonable price....

  • Well you can increase ur recording time by deleting some tones and games to increase the memory. Also if you want increase it ringer volume, you should get a good cover with a good grip on the phones speaker or else the sound will spread and not fully come from the opening of the phone, the other way is to increase the volume is to update the firmware by downloading it from siemens site and updating ur phone using the cable which u have to buy separately.

  • Hi, please help me what to buy: a SE T300 or a Siemens C55? Can you help? The only things that concern me: which has the loudest ringtones (the very low ringtone bug on C55 can be resolved with a firmware update), which has the strongest vibrate alert and which has the better signal strength?

  • I have C 55, I think that it isn't very practise. The battery have 2-3 days withougt conversation. The telephone is new. The design is wonderfull. It si great girl telophone.

  • what happened to this fone

  • hi,i have a c55 and i have a problem about the recording time cause i only have 18 seconds, how can i extend it,i tried nearly everything.could anyone help me please?thank you in advance

  • Pls tell me wich phone should i by? Siemens c55 or SE t300? Pls mail

  • it's a wonderful phone.i wonder some people say its ringtone is low.Yes,the first ring is low but then it increases. its price, quality of sound, network strength and anything is OK.

  • very good

  • i couldn't connect my c55 with usb cable to my pc. my system is windows xp professional. the system couldn't recognize the phone. ı've only got the telephones gprs shoftware. Can i find c55 shoftware from someware.... regards

  • When I listen melodies nad set the volume its OK, but when someone cals me sound is too weak, like i set to volume 1 or 2 in scale 1 to 5. I set sound volume on all places to HIGH (profiles, sound, ...) but when someones call me its act like volume is set LOW on every melody I've tried? Sound BUG or ???

  • Good appereance, nice tones (unfortunately still too low!) probably my C-45 still a better choice for me so I decide to use it for this moment.

  • its ring tone is very low and if it is in your pocket you even cant hear it

  • Please tell me hpow much memeory this phone have. and how many game can i download? Thanks.

  • Nice phone with great performance. Looking forward for C60! =)

  • it's ok for me, so cute, i like it, but c55's sounds are hardly to heard. all function in c55 are ok, let's use it.

  • small, light, compact, exelent, and hi-tech I still like it !!!

  • The mobile built for any1 to use !! i say its one of the best gsm phones in the market if it only had built in changeable backlight colors i wud have married the mobile ! :)

  • portable

  • I confusing using this siemens C55, if any free ringtones write by self, can't get this facility how to write it into C55, if anyone can help me to give this suggestion

  • Sad, my girlfriend bought a C55 yesterday and now, one day later, the phone is dead. I've tried everything but nothing works. I think the Panasonic GD67 would be a better choice!

  • Only one problem..........Just where the hell is the sound of this phone, it seems that either the siemens people thought that all users will have sensitive ears or the design engineers had sensitive ears that they MADE THE RING VOLUME SOO LOWWW!!!

  • seth Allen get the 7210 or something else!

  • It is so beautiful and very good for me. GOODDDDDDDDDDDDDD

  • my phone got nicked and i wanted a nokia 7210 and i have the maneywhat should i get

  • Very poor user interface. The worst menu i have seen on a mobile phone.

  • Hi I bought this phone..looks ok. But the message ring is very low, you hardly hear it. Did anyone experience this too? I am using descreet 2 for messages. All volumes are set to maximum, but still you hardly hear the messages ring. Is it possible that Siemens know about this but still launched the phone?!

  • Hi, im looking to get a C55, but i have a few questions. Is the screen backlite? Can you download games onto it? Is it nice to look at the screen or does it hurt your eyes? Is it hard to use? I would be very gratefull if some1 cud gve me the answers, please. please reply soon, Rob

  • Bad thing about phone: - The worst clumsy keuboard I have ever used, hard to press and small and very very bad - Slow menu - Dont have a fast way to use or disable vibra - small memory and only one phone for name - dont have ring onece options - cant select more than one group to ring (ex. I wont to ring oly for friends and family group) - keyboard have 1 mm space and dust came in the phone Good thing: - great tones, user groups, a lot of feature for this price, can attach own melodies for groups, turning off light ... In my opinion GD 75 is better phone with similar function

  • no copy phonebook to simm card

  • hi.... tomorrow i am going 2 buy a mobile... can any body plz help me what should i buy as i am very confused.... tell me plz which 1 is the best... siemens C55 , S45, S45i ,panasonic GD75 or samsun n500

  • REALLY good phone. After an Ericsson (a3618) that kept breaking and wouldnt be reaplaced because Sony-Ericsson Australia kept saying it was our fault I got this phone for AU$250, knowing Siemens were on par with Nokia for quality. Must I say it was one the best purchases I ever made! This phone has polyphonic ringtones - they sound great. Also the sound recorder - It's not so great for recording parts of songs, but it's still cool and great for taking voice memos. There's extensive EMS, pictures, sounds and animations, WAP and GPRS, and useful stuff like an organiser, voice command/dial - voice command is VERY useful and pretty accurate, calculator, currency converter and Java apps (games, a reminder list and a utility to convert cm-inches, km-miles etc). Plus all the little things like a soft-key, analogue clock screensaver, the clear display and the user interface that Siemens get right. Drawbacks? Well the Java apps are abit slow to load but it's good enough...that's it really - haven't had it for THAT long so I'm not sure, but my mum has owned a c45 for 9 months (lasted longer than my old phone) and no troubles, so I hope this c55 won't dissapoint. For a 80gram phone, it sure feels sturdy - so it's a good sign. Just a few comments and questions... Although that picure is blue with a orange backround, in Australia at least it is sold in a whitish colour that glows green in the dark with a blue backlight. Does anyone know where to download polyphonic ringtones for free or for a very cheap price (that provides for Australia)? In conclusion, this is an excellent phone. It beats anything in its price range and has lots of features, excellent design, great performance and great quality. A good buy. Great work Siemens!

  • I have an oldie, a Sony J5.And I can tell you it is betther than almoust all these new phones. It is bigger than C55 and the batt is weaker. What C55 has is GPRS and that makes it a class bigger. It has no e-mail client, it has no color or at least good looking animations.I will buy a new cell phone only when a betther than J5 comes out!!!

  • From what i can see and tell this phone is exact to the C56 version, Which i am going to buy off my self here soon, I am a ATT dealer in the Az market

  • Great cell, since I have owned only two (previous was S35i). JAVA aps. patch the hole of this cell's features. And it is SIEMENS who makes NOKIA owners scream when I challenge them on 120cms drop (actually drop the phone) test. Suggestion : buy datacable, download Siemens Data Exchange Software, download JAVA calendar, countdown timer, stopwatch and you have everything. R-tones are in MIDI it is easy to find your favorite. Record your sweetheart's voice to tell you there's a call from her. Screen is too small, poor for my logo. Signal weaker than my previous S35i even with my sister's N8310 (hell strong). Too cheap for cell with such features. For you who doesn't afraid of overlapping and complicated menus, this would be great.

  • quite good but, i couldnt understand why it is more expensive then A50 or C45. because there are not much differences between them.

  • Good Mobile Phones that ever i have now. But there is many fiture not include in this phone, like Melody Composer, phonebook in phone only 50, ad etc. For Siemens please make revision for this series of mobile phones. Siemens C55 SE

  • drombewa, nope i dun exp. this prob wif my phone...although i do exp b4 my phone suddenly hang n shut off...n y izzit so damn hard to find a data cable for this phone?y did siemens go change the port for c55?n y does the default ringtone r not optionally deletable to free space...i'm beginning to have 2nd tots on this phone now...:(

  • hey guys this cell ez da best........the best way to keep it is to break it!!!!!!!!!!!! :) siemens good work.....

  • this phone just made my addiction to Siemens even more pleasant has anyone else experienced this: while the Galaxy Hero music is on, pressing exit makes my phone hung and go OFF. Please try this and share your experience Good time!!

  • finnaly the C class from Siemens worth its name... C45 was not what people expected at this class... C55 repaired this mistake... Wonderfull mobile

  • hey every1....good news..... visit midlet.org to get free java games n applications...... the only thing tt sucks abt. this phone is slow sms access after more than 3 sms stored on sim card.... other features r perfect just perfect...

  • Siva....yes it's common the ring tone level mustn't be max in order to switch off the vibra

  • Why the loading takes very long time...like wasting time to wait.

  • I will buy it

  • Hi, i'm from Pakistan and it's been a day since i've bought the C55.(i upgraded from C35i) I must say that it's a very cute cell phone and has great features and great ringtones. The only problem is that the ring tone volume is a bit low even if set to the max value but this is not a big prob at all...I think that if ur thinking of buying a new mobile go for C55 it's great for it's price (7000 Rs) and u won't regret buying it....Welldone siemens !!

  • can u tell me a site where i can find a free game to download via wap or something like that?

  • it is really good but i am not sure of its class a,b or c if it is class b it is perfect but c is not soo good

  • hello my birthday is about 11 days and i buy a siemens c55 i cant wait when i have that mobile :-) Greets Jurjen From Holland

  • when i saw this phone i liked it but i wasnt sure if the performance is as good as this phones looks. so here are the good and bad points i can can give after using the phone for a while=_= Good Points:- Very light and small, good reception and can handle low signals in places where other phones die quickly. great battery power, easy to use buttons and a nice amber LCD display makes reading text easier.Small charger and can be charged full within 2 and half hours. Bad points:- Ringtone volume is too low and voice recording feature need some help as it doesnt records as good and as longer as ALcatel 511 does. seeing this phone and the siemens sx1, i am sure that Nokia will have the run for its money in the future even though Nokia is still respected by me and others. so the verdict is, buy it.!!!

  • I was confused of which to pick between this phone and Nokia 3530, but I finally bought C55, and what do you think... I just love this cute stuff! It sizes much smaller than the gigantic body of Nokia, I love its fuatures like the polyphonics. My mom wonders where is the cat that she heard from my room... She doen't know it's my C55 ringtone! I love its blue display and keypads are also quite comfortable. I also love the built in handsfree, I can reply calls without holding the phone at all. i put it next to my PC monitor and I can talk while I play with MAFIA in my PC. It is hell a fun way to talk. No need to plug anything in my ear! I love the organizer that can recurrence every day. I used it to remind me when it's time to pray (I'm a moslem). Nokia dosn't have it, does it? Sound recorder is just a great innovation, my friends were envy me when they heard las kechup sang in my handphone, make me feel good! I record it from my walkman, just put the earphone near the phone's mic, and play the walkman, I got the girls in my phone, hahaha...! Other things, i love the voice command. it's faster to access the menu. Just say to the phone "Count it!", and it smartly brings me the calculator, or when I say "Let's play!" it brings me the game. what a smart phone, isn't it? And I can choose many way the phone to shakes by the vibra menu. I Just want to say that I love this phone! But.... to be fair I also have some complains. The phone numbers could be larger than only 50. it make me have to write down some numbers I call least frequent to my pocket note. The game is fun, but a kind of slow loading, make me worry if it suddently hang. But it never hang, it's just slow! In fact it teach me to be a bit more patient! Hahahaha.... So that's what I think about this phone. If you wise enough, you will choose it than the Nokia. Beside, like any other low-end phones, no type is perfect! Macth your need, so you won't sorry. It matches to my need, but not as much as it matches to my sense. It's a sensual phone, I think..... So, for you who are also using this C55, please contact me if you have anything to make more fun with it. I still wonder why Siemens doesn't provide downloads for us, Indonesian users. So if any of you know any websites that can I use to download polyphonics and pictures from my country, I appreciate it. Thanks to guide me to buy this phone! Siemens is 'still' the best phonemakers

  • Hi Siva, First of all, Im using the C55 for 5 months now, Its also the first Siemens phone for me, in like 4 years I wasted 6 Nokias..... And because Siemens has the reputation to build phone with a high liability, I gave up the smooth Nokia feel, to give the Germans a change. So far it did not let me down......it even fell out of my coat during a ride with my bike (try that with a Nokia....) and is still working fine! Anyway, in answer to your first questions: When I receive a call, the phone rings at the same volume as in the Sound Manager..... HOWEVER, it also vibrates for one second, with Vibration turn off..... When I turn the Vibration on, it keeps vibrating (like it should) By the way, did you notice that its possible to adjust the kind of vibration.... (very cool feature, isnt it?) I did not yet find a way to turn off this one-second-vibration, so Im not really answering your question, am I? Regards, John

  • Hello, I have just bought a C55 set and got couple of questions that the owner's manual is not addressing. Whenever I receive a call, the phone is ringing and also vibrating. (I have made the "Dynamic Vibration Alert" OFF, but still it is vibrating) May be because of this Vibration+Alert, the volume of Ringer is less. When I listen the ringer volume in the Sound Manager, it is loud. However, when I receive the call, the ringer volume is not that loud, I believe it is due to Vibration+Ring Tone. In this regard, I have two quesitons: 1) Is this some thing normal that you are experiencing in your phone also? 2) Is there a way that I can turn off the Vibration and Keep only the Ring tone? Could you please answer both the questions and send a reply. I would be very thankful to you. cheers, Siva.

  • yeeahhh...be inspired this is smart....and only for smart people if you not....rather go to hell

  • I use siemens 2128. It's cool but I think the volume is not heard enough. How this could be happen???? Any idea???

  • Hi! I've got Siemens C55 after Nokia 3310. I can say now that I won't buy any nokia again, I'll buy always Siemens. The C55 is damn good. The software is so good, stable and easy. (don't listen to guys says that it's software has bugs) It's cool in everything. Ooh,I forgot to say that The games are demo (Prince of Persia & Galaxy Hero)...but of course that can't affect it's other call feature like polyphonic tones, groups, EMS messages, Java,.....and more. Gotta go now and I recommend this phone for any one wants many cool features with good price. Bye

  • Found it very interesting but the only problem is that can't get the polyphonic ringtones for free from anywhere,, all other things are perfect

  • ive got a C55 Siemens mobile with lots of features i'm tired. I sell it for only 70 $

  • Great phone but still I miss the calendar feature!

  • Hi, Siemens C55 can store 1.250 sms with 160-200 characters/messages. Just delete the 2 games then you will get +- 258 kb of memory. You can store 1.250 sms in the archive.

  • Beautiful desing, strong signal, reliable, but software is slowly.

  • hi,i reckon u should get different covers for siemens C55 with different pictures and colours. Also covers that u can desing yourself like nokia has!!!

  • How many messages can it store and how big is the internal phonebook? The official site only says that there is an internal phonebook, but not how big it is. TIA

  • does anyone know when the sl55 is going to be release and how much it will cost...i need to know asap ohterwise i will purchase this one or the pgd87

  • you buy it and you'll be regret it. in indonesia the display color is blue and keypad color is amber, it's very stupid matching color !

  • no shade of gray... it's another f**king siemens amber display. motorola c333 is better!

  • Nice phone. Cool sounds but poor display. Too small and resolution i also too low. And 2 colors only :(

  • Hey.. it has phosporous cover (shinning in the dark) !!

  • Hey again, I wrote a comment one week ago I think, and so I want to correct my mistake cuz the Siemens C55 rocks, I had the siemens S45i and so when I bought this one(C55) and I saw there was no IR or stopwatch or countdown timer.. I was mad for the first day and I wrote the first message, but when I played the cool games espacially "prince of persia" and when I started recording cool noises, melodies, and voices i knew how much it's great + it has shortcut keys and user profiles , menu animations , built in fax/modem and the most important the JAVA which I didn't know how to use before, but when i learned to use it by downloading games & applications i really knew its value and the GPRS feature is also a great step in technology.. & so I'm not doing a publicity to this cellphone but the way u can personalise it is really COOL!! with its cool FLIP IT covers and picture callers and melodies and the menu format and logos and screensavers... and in closing I advice you all to buy Siemens C55 cuz it combines all the cool & great features & options & personalisation and the price is really affordable , and if u want to buy a Nokia or a Ericsson with the same features u have to pay at least 350$ for it .. and so in a word IT ROCKSSSSS , LONG LIVE SIEMENS & KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!

  • This phone is pretty good, yeah, it doesn't have countdown ( I was a M35 user) or stopwatch, but it's a true Siemens phone and I think regular Siemens users would be quite happy with this one, and it looks a hell lot better in real life than it does on the net... but the S55 looks really appealing too. This is quite a good buy really.

  • THX Miep! I'll place my order right away!

  • Hello Hello, at mobileplaza.nl you can buy this phone for 189 euro. It's the cheapist I could find!!

  • Heyyyy, i bought the C55, there's no voice recorder, no calendar, no address book, it doesn't have a stopwatch or a countdown timer.. and so this new Siemens (C55) has one cool option (sounds recorder) and doesn't have the important other options like Infra-red interface or voice memo or cool games (only 2) & the siemens C55 doesn't have Data exchange with PC .. so it sucks , so don't be tricked by this one option and don't buy this mobile..

  • Can anyone tell me how much it's stand by time with average use, and do you really recommend it, because i don't spend my money on a garbage?

  • I wont to know how much is a data cabel for Siemens C55 and where I can bay these data cable ONLINE

  • I dont know whether this phone is good or bad.I think this can be very good of poly tones, handsfree, gprs, wap, ems, recordable tones and brand new keyboard. Come on Siemens, make good phones 4EVER!!! The c35i and c45 is fucked but I hope this wont be bad.

  • Belgium! Great Phone now 219.5 at belcompany !!!

  • I am in love with your siemens phone(the C55 brand). I would be please if you e-mailed the cost of the phone to me as I did not see any price stated. If there is a newer brand than the C55, I would like to know the brand name and the price as well. Thanks for your kind cooperation. Kind regards.

  • Hello to everyone I own this phone for not so long, but.. I must say, guys: you won't regret buying this one. I wouldn't say it blows or rocks, this is not of my habits. But I'll analyse this a lil'. I was hesitating: Nokia 8310, 6510, Siemens S45 or Sony Ericsoon T100. But finally took this one, however, it is the right choice. Why didn't I take S45i? I don't need a business phone with luxurious features. There are many I don't need. But people say also that this one is good. Nokia models (see above) are too small, too cheesy, or the other ones (3510) are stupidly big like bricks. Sony Ericsson...don't really know. Didn't convince me. I don't need a colour display, that of S55 is great. Its performances are decent, sound, dynamic and mic qualities are competative or more than that. Ringtones - there are many for any kind of choice you can also record your voice, and it's better than that of Sony J5 (the one I owned previously) in therms of quality. The menu, I think, had been improved since. It's much more simple than its predecessors'. The WAP features and conectivity - nothing to say. This phone was made to satisfy. The practical assets also are: changable covers (to remove dust and dirt you don't really have to make an effort), fast keys, voice dialing (probably not necessary to use, though). Size is great. Matters :)) Better than Nokia anyway. In the end of the day, what do I need from portable? To be able to hear when it rings, to be able to hear people who call, to be able to feel when vibra is ringing in my pocket, to be able to modify ringtones (here you can download them, as well as logos, from internet via GRPS), to be able to push the right button not being puzzled of where and when. What I lack: the phone book could be bigger (only 50 nos. you can store). For the time being, it's all. Just go for Siemens.

  • thanks for your answer sophie

  • Hi just thought would add my opinion for what its worth. Well what a fab phone we have. C55 blows Nokia 3510 out of the water. I had 3510 and here goes. Clip-it covers more stylish (3510 is usual coffin shape Nokia Design) and more of them. Sound from 3510 not bad but not as good as C55 also 3510 used a little hole in bottom of phone which can be covered by hand. C55 has a brill speaker phone facility which 3510 doesnt. Orange display (would have been nicer to have choice of colour) better than 3510 green. C55 much more compact (luckily not much smaller,I have small hands and have no probs). I cant find anything so far to fault the phone on I just love it and would reccomend it. Available from Phones4U in Walsall and rest of UK now under justphone ie sim free for 139.99 (brochure shows 160 so may be a launch promo not sure by shop) same price as 3510 is selling for, may the battle commence.

  • Dear UNKNOWN, I wonder if have you ever used a Siemens. I had 3 models so far: C25, C35i, ME45 and I NEVER had problems with firmware bugs. If a company makes reliable phones, its name is Siemens. They test their phones before they release them in market, unlike Nokia.

  • Hey Siemens has great software!! I have used Siemens for years (and changed models) and never had a problem with it. That's why i'm waiting for this phone to come in my country and buy it ! This phone is great! and expencive? The shit-o-phone NOKIA 3510 is the same price? C'mon that phone isn't worth 5 $! even NOKIA confesed that the phone is full of bugs HW & SW! There's only 1 thing i don't like... It's display color! It should've been blue!

  • Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too expensive! Let alone the SW bugs...:p Well, that;s about it with the German reliability... Great Hardware, shitty Software...maybe they should call some guys from Japan to write the soft...

  • Anyone know what polyphonic ringtone formats the C55 will support? SP-MIDI, Yamaha SMAF, Digiplug? Is it possible to download your own MIDI files?

  • dragon: no, it doesn't have a MP3 player it's already in stores, 250 in germany and 220 in france

  • i've seen beauty in my live but men this is a discovery. what siemens C55, it's too much. u know what i don't need any other just let me have it.

  • does it have a mp3 player please answer this

  • I want to buy this phone!!!!

  • I think it should have IR port.

  • oficial siemens price: 248.99 Euros

  • I'm very interested by c55, I already wait it's coming, I want to bay, but I haven't enough money

  • Good one. Can I have the price and availability in India?

  • amazing..

  • Around 230 Euro

  • Great phone, can't wait 2 get 1,it looks way cooler than my nokia 5210(sorry nokia)and it's got GPRS and Java,(unlike nokia3410-java and 3510-gprs-very stupid indeed)and on top of that it's got new cool polyphonic ringtones, just imagine all that in affordable phone...Thumbs up for Siemens..

  • How much is this phone does anybody know?

  • Price? please.

  • Too small for mine taste. Me no go below 109mm (c45, A50...)

  • it is a very good handset

  • Siemens C55 is very cool. I waited very long for vcard like addrss book go into sub-US$100 phone. and siemens did it. This is the best sub-US$100 handphone with vcard like addrss book, GPRS, java... Siemens Rule!!!

  • I want Siemens C55! I will buy it!

  • its sleek with the best of what most general phone users would need

  • i want to buy this phone(suge pula)
