the Z1010 only takes ms duo cards. ythey go up to 128mb, it is not compatible with ms duo pro card's. so if you card is bigger then 128mn it won't work. i also still have this phone and its

Great phone, Great Sony Ericsson Z1010. d only prob av got wit dis phone is replacement of memory card, sometimes it goes off during charging, its got no radio, and its kind of bulky.Apart from these, its wonderful using a phone like this. Very strong, rugged, reliable, trusted, long battery span. I recommend it 2 all phone users

Z1010 is probable d best phone av ever used, d only problem av got wit dis phone is dat, its not no radio and its rejects memory card replacement a lot. Av tried replacing d memory card with a higher version, but couldn't get anyone compatible with d phone. Apart from these problems, dis phone is d perfect match for all phone users, especially d batterry life span. Lastes as long as i can remember.

I've got this phone for the last three years and it's the best phone I've ever had. I've never had problems with the battery life. Well now the battery lasts for a day, but I guess I have to replase it with new one. The only disadvantage is i couldn't find panels to replase the originals. I hope the new phone that I gonnna get soon is going to be at least as good as this one.

I had this phone fore like 6 to 8 moths before it died. I love to hate this phone. It was so mutch problems with it.. the batteries died so I had to buy a new bat. and this happend the first month after I bought the phone. I will not recomend this phone to enyone.

I bought this phone in Dubai two years ago and worked well over a year, since then the camera is not working anymore thus makes the video call not useable in Egypt since they released it. hi folks, i have had ths fone since it first came out and i still have it, on the positives, this fonw has an awesome battery life and u dont need to charge it for days. its so bulky that it cant be smashed, and cause its a flip fone, the inside screen is less capable of being broken, on the negatives, shit camera, really long interace, sound drops in and out, loud speaker distorts, too big to carry, can only hold 100 sms and thats inbox and outbox. really weak with signal strength, only buy this fone as a second fone when ur going somewhere and u think u will lose a good fone, u wont even care if this fone gets stolen someone please steal mine!

I saw it and was moved to buy it by its programs, size and memory capacity. I bought it in Nigeria and it was working very well with the glo line and mtn. I then relocated to Guine Bissau just to discover that it doesnt work with every net work. I have areeba here and my z1010 have not been able to receive the areeba network. I also discovered again that my phone only has one languege option "english". To my greatest dismay, other security functions do not function. eg, show callers id and hide id. Please, is the 3G function for fancy? Worst still, my z1010 can alo handle 3 caller per day as a result of battery weakeness. I have since bought an extra battery for it all to no avail. The internet connection also does not work and neither able to download programmes fron computers. I need answers and solutions please. I also will like to know if the phone is a Chinese fake or that is how all other function. pls get back to me.

Hey Raymond.. Try Ebay if u wanna buy d chasing. They dont sell d chasing here in my country either ( I live in Indonesia ). Or wat i did was i covered my phone wit stickers. Its called G-Masking ( originally came f/ Japan ). I dont know if u hv it der, maybe u can use d idea or sumthin =) D memory depends, if u only want all mp3 songs ( no video,pictures etc ) in ur MC, den maybe u can squeeze 8-9 songs in it. Cant erase files? I had d same problem once..Hv u tried erasing dem using ur PC? It worked 4 me...

I have dis fone..and i luv it ! Havent really tried d 3G features yet,cuz my country blows =( I think d 128mb MS is more den enuff 4 me.. ( if u wanna listen 2 hundreds of mp3 songs, get an ipod )The speaker is awesome ! All d features works fine... 1 downside.., non customizable sms tones.. But overall: two thumbs up !

the sony ericsson z1010, has alot of great features it's got great pictures and video recording, mp3, vocie recording and connects to your computer and you can transfer pic's from phone to computer and vise versa,it is really easy to use. and can store so much on it because of the memory stick. the only problem with the phone is that it is big and bulky,and abit ugly looking but the rest is all good.

First of all, Smallgal and bigboi are the same people. Talked about the phone in a negative way and then listed their comments in a list, as a different user to make it as if two people hated the phone. First, he video quality dosent get better on a phone. Second of all, it is suposed to look like a brick. It has no antenna for a reason and it is not at all that big.

There nothing great bout this phone. Bulky and execly like BRICK. The memory stick only support 128MB (MAX). Front camera cant take a photo. Back of the phone will always over heating. When its start over heating it will automaticly turn off the phone.And even the phone is ON call cant go through when its overheating. SMS tone is Sony ericsson defaul cant chage to MP3 or AAC. The browser always HANG. Battery perfomence damn bad. Video cam is really ugly. Network selection cant be done manually. Basicly this phone is suck. i already smash the phone an now using O2 EXEC.Plzz Dun ever think to buy diz phone..

Recently my Z1010 began to play up. When i charge it it says the battery is charging, but the bar is full. If i try to turn it on, it flickers throught eh sony ericcson screen then swithes off. i then have to take the battery out. If i turn it on without the charger, the screen flickers, then it beeps, then nothing. It will continue to do this until you remove the battery. Has anyone else had similar problems? Any ideas?

I have used this mobile phone a fair bit and can safely say that it is well built and feature packed. Camera location is a pain and early versions of the firmware can be buggy. Keypad is good and user interface is fantastic. Well worth it. Try an upgrade to the SE Z800i.

look ppl...This phone is a fanstastic phone...The battery power and performance is great and witha phone like this it is expected to die in less than 2 days. Note that ofcourse it will heat up during 3G mode or infact it might even heat up during normal activities. But you need to kno that it is not broken or its not going to over heat and die down. So relaxe!! Its fine. I am a phone expert. So if u have ANY questions please email me...

I've had the SE z1010 since January 05, and It has so far been the best cell phone I have ever owned. However, the only problems I have experienced is the phone generating extra heat when being used in 3G mode, Freezing up when doing complex things such as Browsing the Internet with the Media Player in operation, and some freezing when using Bluetooth. Allthough they sound serious, they are not. Apparently, they can be cured with a firmware update, which you could get from certain service centers in your country. I want to upgrade my firmware, but cannot find a place to do it. That has been another problem. Also, this phone has malfunctioned considerably less than any other phone I have used, and Sony Ericsson DO make great cell phones. The phone itself is a masterpiece. Everything it has works great and usually does more than you expect it to. If you are a fasion guru, this phone may not be for you. It is quite bulky, and can be uncomfortable in your pocket. But Finding a cell phone with those specifications smaller than that, easily shows that the z1010 is the best in its class. Highly recommended.

to use mp3 as ringtones all you have to do is load them onto the fone, through the datacable, in australia on 3 it comes in the box, and select it like a normal ringtone, simple as that. This fone is a brick, i got rid of mine for a SE T630.. not a moments regret

Even though the SE Z800i is a better phone with better mp3,camera,external screen, and displays, notto mention size, is it really worth waiting two months to get the z800i or just to get a z1010 right now?. Good choice kris, about the size of Z10101 its really big but u cant find many 3g phones shorter than 10cm in the market,it was the smallest 3g when it was lunched,its not bigger than a packet of Mallboro, about the memory problems that may apear on non Sony memory sticks after repeated and excesive use, u sould go to an ATM store and have ur card formated, about the mp3 problems, hmm thats tricky, all phones work to specific frequensy of bits, try to change this,or download the mp3 from another source

It's a good phone. It was cheap here in Australia for only AU$200 brand new. Its got more features than any other phone i have seen. The only thing that is missing is a MP camera but who needs that. The only downsides is that the photo menues are really slow, gets annoying, and also that it is an absolute brick. I just got this phone to have for a little while till i get a proper one because my Nokia keeps turning off, and the Sony Ericsson was a cheap substitute here is Australia.

hey there daniel, i think to upgrade your software you would take it to a 3 store and they will take the phone and they will updgrade it, but im not 100% sure..maybe if you call up the customer care number they will be able to tell you exactly what you need to do. i also have the same problem with the dragging of mp3s to the phone..i am not too sure why or what the solution is...but when i find out i will make sure to post it on this site

After 1 and a/2years of constant use of my Z1010, i could say i am very pleased of my phone, i never had a problem with it, i recomend everyone to make a software upgrade and get rid of any possible broblem, if it insist u sould know the problem may be caused of ur local network or wrong settings, the sound and display of it is just awesome even today,it was one of the first working 3g devices way beyond its season and competition,Z1010 isnt a great step forward,S700 has a much better cam but someone sould choose cam or 3g, i choosed 3g, K750 now has 2mp cam,better than S700 and redused size, but it would be a step back leaving 3g for a "normal" phone, SE must come up with smth more powerfull to pursuade me make the next step, smth to compete Nokia N90 and Samsung Z700, i trust SE and i know they always do and they do it the right time, the above devises were advertised months ago,SE will make a surprice launch after their launch with a superior and more compact device as always,the mases may ignore it because it wont have "NOKIA" or "SAMSUNG" on it but i wont, if u buy a phone like T68i,T610 and K700i u know there is a long way for the competition to come up with a better solution Z1010 is just another exemple, well done SE,i m waiting for the next by xmas

this fone really annoyed me, there are lots of problems. one is the fact that u cant use custom ringtones for sms, only fone ones, which really annoyed me. the other is that on the 3G network WAP doesnt work. another problem is that u cant use email POP3 to hotmail accounts. and lastly this fone is huge! its a brick. given the sound quality is good, but its not supported by most games\tones suppliers, even 3 games dont all support this handset. it was terrible and im now moving to a sharp GX15. dont get the z1010 asa fone, if u must its a very expensive paper weight

This phone is briliant, i have it 1+1/2 half years now and i never had any kind of problems, thats a rare thing comparing it with other SE and nokia i had before, they really built a solid phone and its features manage to keep up competition too long!! There is isnt a real reason to make un upgrade just for the numbers. I ve seen phone with 256k display and 1.3MP cam and i m not impressed, there is no big dif but i might consider a good offer when i see it, otherwise Z1010 is just fine and those crystal clear 74polyphonic tones are still waiting to be beaten.

I have had this phone for now about half a year. I'm having a lot of trouble with it just disconnecting my calls.... The UMTS/EDGE doesn't work at all and it is too large and heavy! It got all kinds of functions, but all the tech. stuff doesnt do it when its so buggy and big!

You cant use anything but phone tones for sms, but your can use any format for ringtones. I used to have problems with poor reception on my Z1010 as well, but then my operator suggested that a firmware upgrade might help. With the R1K010 firmware the reception is not a problem for me anymore.

Nice phone, easy to use but a little heavy and short battery life. Main drawback is the lousy reception. In my home in Almere (Netherlands): no reception. In the office in Lille (France): no reception. On the main highway near Antwerps (Belgium): no reception. I used to have perfect reception at all theese places with my Nokia 6310i. I love the Z1010, it has everything. I bought it on 3 and it was the best value for money. I had to buy outright which cost me $500 but it was worth it. Those LG's that everyone else buys from 3 have nothing on the Z1010. It can play MP4 where the LG cant, it can expand to 128mb memory where the LG is only 32, Z1010 has Bluetooth, LG doesnt, and IRDA is on the Z1010. It has everything. I like to be different from everyone else. I love the memory stick duo to memory stick adapter. I have a card reader in my laptop and all i have to do is plug the memory stick adapter into my computer and use the memory stick duo like a flash drive, which is much easier copying music to the phone than the usb connection.

This phone is pretty good got it for $295 AU. Features are solid..cameras good with great effects. Screen is very bright and looks way better than any other 65k screen out there. External screen is very useful and can be seen in any lighting condition. Battery life is good for a phone which has so many functions. Memory is good..can be expanded heaps. Ringtones sound awesome (72 poly). Size is debated a lot but this phone is DEFINITELY pocketable. After a few days u get used to the size and its not really that heavy. The design is very attractive and clean. Bluetooth and internet are fantastic and pc software is also very good. Great overall phone. For the record this phone has 4 Megabytes shared memory but it is essentially 36 because u get a memory card free in the box...so its all good. The only prob with this phone is that its hard to get games as it is not compatible on a lot of the internet sites...but it is possible. Overall a sweet phone

Just bought for �220 (GBP) ($400 us). Waiting for delivery of this phone, once i recieve i will give my opinion. It doesnt matter to me about the size of the phone, its the functionality. It offers so much. Why carry your phone and your mp3 player around when you can have this? Plus its a decent camera and video camera. As well as that its future proof. apart from the 3 network in the uk, the other networks are behind on 3g technology, this phone is future proof for that. For what it offers and with the battery life being so good, i think its a top phone.

Love this phone... the only flaws is size(29 mm is a lot), and that it doesn't support Memory Stick PRO... And then we need more consistent 3G-coverage from "Three" in denmark... but thats of course not Z1010's fault... :D

Great phone really but very awkward camera! the position of the lens is at the bottom part of the phone making it useless for shooting subjects. Anyone else has come across this problem or I'm missing something?!?! If u open the phone & try to take a photo/video holding the phone in front of u so that u can easily see the screen, then the lens is pointing a meter or so in front of your feet! not in front of u (at the subject). I could not believe SE engineers would make such a stupid design decision!

i know alot of people are turned off buy the size of this phone, i recently purchased it over here in australia, its a great phone packed wif features, the only down point would be the postioning of the camera this takes a while to get use to but other then that the mp3 player, external memory, the screen, colour and speed of the phone is above average. All up the SC phone is excellent and if u think its to big ur hands are just to small, and u know wat they say about people wif small hands they have small di#ks! haha yes dats right if u think the z1010 is to big well its ur hand buddy!

Have been using this phone for 3 days, it's taking some getting used - I've been a Nokia girl for 3 years. It is a little bit bulky, though girls don't put phones in their pockets so it's not too bad! I really don't care for all the 'extra' stuff, like games, music, email capability. Why must we feel the need to be constantly entertained??? The camera on the back is in a stupid spot... it's under your fingers so taking a photo with just one hand is a bit tricky. Doesn't work so well with our Nokia bluetooth car kit. (Causes echoes.)

this year is the year of the p900, next year will be the year of the p910, next next year there will not be nokia anymore. think about it, MOTOROLA E398 and SONY ERICSSON K700, both of these phones are released to fu$k up nokia's "soap-shape-phone-forever-universal-industry. nokia is gone with their poor designed phones, oh yeah, did u see that topic today in the homepage of www.gsmarena.com with s700 vs. 7610, personaly i used both of the phones. and s700 definatly comes better in picture quality. but, its too big when rotated, however, since i own a p910 right now, i don't care about size, all you need is a hs820 or a bluespoon digital. yes i sell them both in my store.

i had se T68i and it was so bad.fisrt of all i didnt heard nothing still nothing ...when talking in this phone for many times and the line was bad.secondly the bluetooth function was off in my state (israel) cause they took it of from this model when it arrive to israel because of army regulation and when bought it no one was told me about it and another thing is that i heard a lot of people who ownes on of this firm models claims they reall not working well with other function such as voice calling and stuff like that.now i own nokia 6100 and its really good hearing and good function operates .so dont ruhs 2 but SE cause they not really so SONY!!!!

The twin cameras are for video calls. They also allow use of the screen as a viewfinder when taking pictures of yourself. I assume they didn't want just one camera on the inside of the phone because that would make taking pictures of things other than yourself weird. You would not be able to see the screen if it's facing away from you.

Will release in Australia by 3 on July 15th. It is already released in 3 denmark and it is about 10% more expensive than the A925 in the 3 denmark website. So don't be surprised if this goes for about $AUD800 or $AUD900, but sounds like it is still going to be much cheaper than $US1000.

I hope this phone has been fitted with a re-format capability. As current models have the "Restore Factory Settings" function, I think it is time they have a "Format Memory" function because these things are becoming more like computers: they can be modified, get viruses, have software added/deleted, etc. When the "Format Memory" function has been activated, everything should go back to the way it was when it left the production line, from Internal software to Ringtones. Who agrees that this would be a good idea?

To add to my last comment. UMTS / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 See above. I believe the phone will be available on the two net works above. You may have to purchase it out side the area you live in, but it will work. There is a problem though, to make use and take advantage of all the phones features you will have to be on 3G UMTS net work.

The trial unit of this phone is already in Singapore. I get to play with it for around 1 hour(I pissed the sales assistant for trying so long) and guess what!!! Iwas chosen to be one of the tester for this phone in December for the 3G service in Singapore and best of all its free!!!(But I will not get the phone in the end) Here are a few points for you guys to look out, and also as I am using a trial unit not all functions are in. 1)The phone provides a very nice LCD screen. 2)The phone is extremely big in size. 3)Polyphonic tones sound the same as Z600. 4)The internal camera can take your own photos. 5)The trial unit is totally grey in colour and looks extremely ugly not like the red one shown here. 6)The expansion slot is hidden nicely. When I get to hold the phone in December to try out the 3G service I will write another short guide here. For you Singaporeans, the sales assistant told me the phone will be launch eearly next year but all the 3G phone(confirm launching is Samsung Z100, SE Z1010 and Siemens U10) will cost over SGD1000. Also Singaporeans can go to Hello! Orchad to see the dummies of this phones. Who knows, you might get chosen.

I think the Z1010 is one of the best phones because he has a card-reader, UMTS, twin-cameras, a large display, and it isn't big. For me the best phones are they from Sony-ericsson, siemens and samsung. I hate nokia now. They are all big and bad. They have nothing extra.

Well, from what I've been told, 3 is the retailer that will sell this phone, since its a 3G fone. If 3 is in your country then we will all get it at the same time, Australia, UK, Hong Kong etc. Thats how they have such low prices, instead of placing an order for 30,000 for one country they place an order for 1 million of several countries all at once and they receive a discount. I was also told to expect this phone to come in under $1000. It might sound expensive but if you consider that some those 2 and 2.5G fones come at a price of $1600AUD (SE p800, when it was first released), its damn cheap and if you already have a 3 NEC e606 you have an option of tradingin that phone for the SE and they will discount it by a further $300

3G phones uses the third generation network which supports vidoe calls and stuff like that.. more advance.. Symbian phones uses the Symbian OS which is something like the Palm OS but for phone. Palm OS is used in PDAs =).. You can install applications and all..

That was as radical a move Nokia can afford and look at all the bugs it has. Why does the T610 has bugs? It's because it's an entire new phone with new features, layout and everything. Look at all the Nokias. Even with EVERY phone using the same design and parts, they still have faults. Look at the 7210 released about this time last year and the more recent 6610? Both phones still have faluty screen. At least SE bothers fixing the phone and after 1 year, still released major firmware fixes like the T68i now and R8 firmware.

WOW!! This phone must be the best one EVER! When this phone comes on the market, its going to rule the world! Still, i like Nokia, but Sony Ericsson is my 2nd favorite. A cool thing is, that it is the first "flip" phone i have ever seen with no antenna. The camera is also great quality, and so is the looks! I GIVE IT AN OVERALL 10! Try see the T610!
