If anybody's spice phone is not turning on ,there might be a software problem.Just flash the phone with the software it will work just fine. Did the same, phone is working just fine from the last 3 years. Yeah the battery is not available ,just search some local small mobile stores not the big ones they might have.If u Online purchase the battery I m not sure if that will fit.Try Micromax Android one battery I think that might fit.Hope this helps!

I am using Spice Android One Dream UNO Mi-498 from last year, facing lot of issues and resolved. Now suddenly facing another issue like "Unfortunetly System UI has Stopped" as per you tube, I have done some steps "wipe data / factory format and Wipe cache format. Dude the update is going to be pretty huge.. so the only option you have is delete apps or uninstall updates for apps like hangouts,google+, somehow free space on your phone...and update.Even after the update you might find some apps crashing...So a factory data reset is highly recommended after installation.Do make sure you take backup of all your data before even trying to update.

This dream uno spice mi 498 android 1 is not accepting 32gb sd card. Still it is not downloading and niether performing up to the mark. Niether the appas are functioning and also it use to hang every time.Internal memory is taking place while external memory in SDcard not getting place,nor int.memory shifting to SDcarrd. This tells that this phone do not gives UTS users the performance of a good android smartphone. Very shameful to tell that to run it i have wastef morw money than to buy it. Spice dream uno has 4GB internal storage and out of which 2.2GB is available for users..... This internal storage is only meant for installing apps...and if you want to take photos and videos you should insert an SD card.... So the internal storage will not be shown in any file manager or in PC's when connected... The SD card will only be shown... $$$ And one advantage ,in android marshmallow you can format your SD card as the internal storage... so that total storage will be more than 31GB if you had inserted a 32 GB SD card... So all spice dream uno users... Attention... Please.... After the marshmallow update there is no problem with storage....

if app is not installing in your phone from playstore than it simply means internal memory doesn't have enough space left to intall app. so simply move your installed apps into sd. card. this will solve your problem. and if your apps are updating automatically(whiach is good thing) but you dont want than go to play store and click on settings and chose never update apps.

Friends.. In smartphoned running on lollipop and marshmallow,the contacts will be linked with the Gmail ID... So I think we cannot delete the contacts.. hey guys i had the problem of the phone getting stuck at the animation screen after updates. Also it was getting hot while at that animation screen. service center cross checked and it was a problem with the motherboard. they issued a DOA (Dead on Arrival) certificate and i took it back to the shop where it was purchasedand they replaced the piece with a new boxed piece. ofcourse you have to do this within 7-10 days of purchase i think.

Dear Friend, 1.The auto rotation-homescreen is still available for tablets.Even nexus 6P and 5X does not have it. 2.The multiwindow option is not available in Marshmallow. You can install the multiwindow option after rooting the phone. If we(Android one users) are lucky we will get Android N update. The multiwindow option is inbuilt in Android N or Android 7. Charge your phone to 100% Go to settings, developer option,(if you donot have a devoloper option,goto about phone there tap on the built number 3 or 4 times)then in devoloper option,change all the animation scale to 5x. DO STILL HERE...check whether the phone become fast.. Still not..? Scroll down,there change the background process limit to 'almost 4 processes Restart the phone.. Now check the speed of your phone If it bacome faster than earlier DO NOT TURN OFF The Developer option If it does not become faster than earlier, TURN OFF Developer option and try some other thing.... ALL PROBLEMS SOLVED.... We formatted SD card as internal storage... Updated to v6.0.1..... Improved performance... Early we don't had a battery backup issue,so nothing to say about that... Very happy about this phone.... An amaizing thing is that the phones battery lasted perfectly 1.5 days for our use... We are in-between a moderate and heavy user... We are using avast battery saver-emergency mode.... Try it .......... It's 100% working....

We are using a class 10, 32GB Samsung SD card. At the time when we got the 6.0 update we formatted the SD card as internal storage. There is no problem in formatting process, we can format all SD cards(2,4,8,16,32GB).After formatting,the internal storage increased to 31.5 GB or something. But to take photos.... Any solution for that....? It says 'insert SD card to take photos'...... After solving this problem only we are going download and install 6.0.1 So please help....

I m facing the same problem out there. No solution yet. What size of microSD card are you using? 32gb? I did some experimentation & found out that it's not possible to format 32gb cards as internal storage, but if you use 16gb,8gb, 4gb or 2gb cards, you will be able to format them as internal storage. I think Google has implemented some kind of restriction on microSD capacity to be used as Internal Storage.

guys new OTA 6.0.1 update is very good .so many problems were resolved. 1.Battery draining issue resolved.(I was almost getting 1.5 days battery backup with normal usage) 2.now you can connect to any wifi network very quickly.(In previous update wifi was taking very much time to connect approx 10-15 seconds) 3.smooth and lag free performance.

I have tried it, but got no success. I would like to add some more info. When I format a 2gb, 4gb, 8gb or 16gb card as internal storage, I succeed, the format gets completed and I get format success message from the system. The problem occurs only when I try to format 32 gb card. I have tried with 2 32 gb cards, one SanDisk and the other Samsung and the result is same. When I use 2gb Sony microsd, I succeed, (although the system says it's a slow card and might degrade performance) Also 4gb Adata, 8gb HP, 16gb SanDisk get formatted as internal storage. Has anyone succeeded in formatting a 32gb card as internal storage. If yes then pls tell me the brand name, model & class. Thanks

I am facing a problem guys. I have a spice dream uno mi 498h model (the hindi language model) Recently I got it updat3d to Android marshmallow 6.0.1. I also did a factory reset after the update to start everything afresh. I was using a samsung 32gb class 10 Evo card with this phone as adopted internal storage when it was on Android 6.0. Now after updating to Android 6.0.1, I am unable to use the same memory card as internal storage. Everytime I try to format the card as internal storage, it gets stuck at 20% and then the card automatically unmounts. Please help

Tried everything dude, and wasted lot of time. Instead I should have used that time to go back to Kitkat which was better in so many ways. When did you wipe cache thru recovery? Has your phone been on for several days since, without the abnormal battery drain? Asking because basically after a reboot, it usually does sleep, but the issue reoccurs after a few hours or so (depending on use).

Avast isn't working. After rebooting, the issue is solved only for a short time. Then the drain resumes. Continually rebooting phone like this will reduce its life. If you don't, then the phone is unusable. Google has effectively sabotaged this phone and other Android one phones too, besides many other phones. Google seems to be either not bothered or totally incompetent in addressing all the bugs in L and M. Please consider buying non Google/Android products (eg. Windows Phones). Stop using their apps, and services. Stop clicking their advertisements and sponsored search results, etc. Lets do this much for them for destroying our phones.

Please don't waste time with battery savers. They can't help if the OS itself is buggy. This is a serious bug that Google has to address. However, Google is ignoring this bug. They have in fact marked it low priority! Android L and M have tons of bugs on various devices, and I'm sure they have their hands full. Scroll to the bottom of the thread please vote for the thread. You'll need to be signed into your Google account. The more people we can get to vote this thread up, the more chances are they might release a fix. Google is going downhill by releasing hopelessly buggy updates to several devices, not just the Spice Dream Uno. So next time, consider buying a non-Android phone like Windows. They perform really good even on low end hardware, updates at least don't have such critical bugs that damage even the hardware.

That is, When the day starts with 100% charge, On the way to our YYYYY, we used to read news using internet, While at YYYYY the has normal use, Coming back to home by bus we used to see movies. At home we used to play games. Before going to sleep there will be at least 25 to 30% charge remaining. Thus spice dream Uno gives us a full day enjoyment. Android has gone to the dogs. Till KitKat it was a very viable option. But with Lollypop, all kinds problems are plaguing phones. Nexus 7 has been all but bricked by Google since the Lollypop update, and there is no solution. Now many devices including Spice Dream Uno are plagued with a very serious WiFi bug which is draining battery like crazy. Phone stays warm. This is also going to harm the hardware, as the phone is just not going to sleep. Tried everything that I could find online, but nothing works. What is really of concern is that this (and many other) bugs are known to Google since pre-release versions, but they are doing nothing about it. Software testing seems like an alien concept to them. Now its clear that buying even Nexus and Android One device does not mean you can live a relatively bug-free life. This apathy from Google is really appalling. Maybe they are going the Nokia way... Still one can find many people saying Lollypop and Marshmallow are good Oses. Really strange. With Lollypop something has seriously changed at Google. The dev team seems to be made of severely aesthetically challenged, retarded kids. Garish white and red and other bright colours everywhere. They have just added some animations, which are alright, but they come at the cost of efficiency. You have to click more to achieve the same tasks. Several other irritants are there. For eg. with M, you can't even see the running tasks without activating developer mode and wading thru all the menus. The battery graph also has been degraded. Its all just simply ridiculous. Maybe its time to look at other operating systems. Else just stick downgrade to Kitkat and avoid Google's updates like the plague.

All you gotta do is wait. I had done a total factory reset and then waited for about a day without installing anything, just the factory reset mode, and it bought the update. Be careful when selecting your SD card as an internal storage cause then it would loose some of its properties as an external card. It would show as emulated. Like app backup and restore would say no external card found.

It do happens that apps behaves abruptly whenever new update arrives But this is a temporary problem. Try to reinstall the app from .apk file. that's due to the black color of your flip cover. Just apply a small piece of sticky paper on top of the inside of the flip cover(Just opposite to where the proximity sensor is) and see the magic. Black color absorbs all the light coming from the proximity sensor and thus affecting its functionality

Having an isuue of app update. It's an extraordinary problem.whenever i update an app the whole app gets downloaded. For example if you have facebook app which is 34mb sized and if an update rolls out it would sized about 10or12 mb but when i update it the whole 34mb sized app gets downloaded and its happenning with every app i update. Hi, my set gets heated a lot while using net. After continous usage of net for 30-45mins. It gets heated to 43-44 degree celcious and thats too much. I know visiting the service centre won't help, coz they will keep the set for a week then just factory reset it and will return. So any of you having this issue? Please reply.

I also having the same problem, I received the handset from Flipkart on 10th June after 2 days using KitKat I updated 5.1 and then 5.1.1. Facing problems 3G signals are weak in both the sim 0 to 2 signals only, and fluctuating rapidly. Battery backup is not good, even on minimum Screen brightness. Its very hard to understand that why Google not provides file manager in this device, other file manager on play store are not reliable. gallery is also missing, which force u to use Google+ On making video its stop for while on moving the handset. Update of lollipop takes additional memory no replace the previous memory it means if we get update android M the memory will exhaust. Google's many app taking too much space. Google making fool people by android versions only change design, by updates user interface should easy not tough as 5.1.1 update. Where is quick Setting of profile like silent, vibration, ringtone. Lollipop user interface is not good compared to KitKat,many quick settings are missing. By android one Google force to use its useless app.

Spice Dream Uno is the best phone in this price range if you want a stock android phone. The android lollipop 5.1 update is worth the MB's. This phone works extremely fine with lollipop on board and the new ones come with the lollipop 5.1 out of the box. There are no battery issues and it gives a backup for roughly a day. Some features in the lollipop 1. like the user accounts is not there. (I dint see in my Mi498). 2. Also on body detection is not there. 3. The automatic brightness option is changed to adaptive brightness and is not on the notification panel. 4. The smart locks works quite good but the location one stil have bugs. Its quite okay if i may say so. I mean besides the menu changing and giving us a background of white color which pretty much is bad and applock working too slow , other than that everything works out fine. They removed quick office but fear not we just need to download google docs and slides and sheets app from google drive or you can go into drive and click on the plus button it will ask you to download them. so problem solved.

Got 5.1 update 2 days back. They removed quick office, so we can't open word,excel & Powepoint. After update my internal memory comes down to 380MB from 700MB. UI is OK. Compare to 4.4.4 this update is Just OK but not great.

Go to settings, then select apps, swipe right to all, scroll down to select Google services frame work, clear data. Then reboot your mobile. Then check for system update. Still your mobile shows the your system is up to date , repeat the above steps to 4-5 times. Definitely you will get update.then download your update through WiFi. If WiFi not available change the date of the mobile phone to April 20 or some other. Then reboot your mobile. Then check for download.your download will start.

lollipop 5.1 update running so smooth .. now its draining more battery, when this phone is set to battery saver mode... the upside notification bar and downside home, back looks orange so interesting, and elegant looking.... but the update only can be downloaded by WiFi.... no WiFi hotspot is help able... so much shortcuts, but runtime missing and new security feature on-body is missing... so disgusting... by the way enjoying the phone

Guy , Not sure what are the good parts of having Lollipop 5.1,dut definitely it ruined my way of using the phone. 1.In Lollipop 5.1,you can't enable /diable mobile data programmatically- I was using Tasker and it stopped working. So unlocked the boot loader,put a new recovery and rooted the phone and with a thurd party ,controlling the data connecting. 2.There is nothing called Muting the phone now!!!- Only normal or Vibrate - ELse you have to manually set the muting time which I find it very irritating. In general if you are using the phone in automated/profile based manner,it may not be working no longer!!!

You need to have latest play store for updates to happen. To prevent mobile data charges, in play store you can set it to either "do not auto update apps" (in which case you'll have to update manually) or "auto update over wi-fi only". I own this phone and I should say that overall the phone feels good...it is fast and never hanged so far on average app use...needs an mmc to access camera and mass storage...stock android may be a bit of a headache for ppl with no or limited net access since it lacks many useful apps like file manager and gallery..personally I had to take it to the service center every two or three months to replace a faulty earpiece..all that depends on ur luck..even some iphones come with faulty hardware...apart from that everything is fine...

This is exelent phone in this price,Here most people complaint about bluetooth,but its not correct bluetooth working perfectly very good and only .apk (apps) extention file should not be receive,that is not a problem. Got the phone today. Didn't find any issue with downloading apps over wi-fi. Downloaded and installed 4-5 apps and working fine. Haven't tried on 2G/3G data plan. I was also able to transfer my contacts (.vcf) file from another phone to this one over bluetooth without any problems. Hoping to have same good experience throughout. :)

u need memory card for that purpose without that installing app and taking pics not allowed since phone has little 4 GB internal storage it is deliberately restricted in all android one phone. please use memory card n u wont face this problem.. :)

The Android Spice Mi-498 Dream Uno battery wise poor back up and receiver has gone with in one month.If you plug the head set and not removed properly your receiver will go off so the hard ware failure is there in this model.In other mobiles it won't happen like this. According to the looks micromax is good and u can get entire 4.5 inch screen as it has 3 capacitive touch buttons below the screen. spice android one has three soft keys on its screen so u can get only 4.1 inch screen for operation. But it will give u entire screen for watching movies or videos. Approximately remaining features r same on all android devices. Image taken by spice one looks vibrant I like that very much. Well I installed the nova launcher and the problem is solved. The shortcuts do appear back when the device is rebooted, even if the app was moved to sd card. It does take a few seconds more to reboot as compared to the Google now launcher but it saves the day! Regarding the unlock issue, sorry I didn't find any lag on either of the two launchers. But I did notice that Google music took some time to close, I mean it was not always consistent with closing speed. I guess google now launcher is the culprit. I would suggest you to try nova launcher. It is pretty smooth and customisable as well.

I am having some worst experiences with Spice Mi-498 Dream UNO. Battery is draining out so quickly. It takes almost 3-4 hours for it to charge from 0% to 100%. But in 20 to 30 mins it will be reduced to 80% even though I dont have any apps installed yet, not at all using internet. Design wise it looks good. very slim and handy. Features need to explore more. But performance wise it is not at all upto mark. I suggest Spice Android one is not that great choice.

Using the set from last couple of days.Firstly it is a very smooth device no lags experienced til now while playing games or browsing net.web pages load pretty fast with Airtel 2G sim.Battery back up is good.Charging takes about 2 hours when GPS is off.No OTG support but for the price it is worth.Apps open pretty fast .Battery only drains when using net or watching videos.Call quality is good. Overall great experience with the device.Go for it

Average phone, Don't expect much more in terms of quality in low price. First problem - proximity sensor not working from day1, requested replacement. Don't know what will be next problem. Good for normal users who wants smartpohone, touch screen, internet, FB, whatsapp with 1 GB and Quad core CPU but not much concerned about speed and quality.

I�m using aritel and Whatsapp works just fine. I recon to get the internet setting from voda and switch your phone off for a couple of mins and switch it on again

I got Micromax Canvas A1 (Android one) and I used it for almost 10 days. Initially, I was able to download apps from play store using WiFi on my phone. Suddenly, I was not able to download or update any apps from Play store using WiFi. It pops up some error with error message and error number i.e. "Can't download 'app name' as there's an error 864. I'm able to download app using my mobile data but I'm not able to download any app using WiFi. I've also tried to use another WiFi network but that still doesn't work. I visited Micromax service center and they said the phone needs software update but they don't have the new software update for this phone yet. I performed factory reset of this phone and also cleared cache and cleared data for this phone but again with no result. Also, rebooted phone many times but always failed. Finally, I called Amazon to get my refund to which they agreed. Thank god Amazon. IS ANYONE ELSE FACING THE SAME ISSUE WHILE DOWNLOADING APPS FROM PLAY STORE USING WiFi? FYI....I also tried to use other WiFi network and still the same. I don't know why the phone isn't able to download any apps from play store. While I agree all three phones (Micromax Canvas A1, Karbonn Sparkle V and Spice Dream uno) have same specification with Google Android one, I still feel that Google should have tied this thing up with some well know company rather than these 3 as the after sales services for all 3 companies is worst. I've 3 phones and I'm facing issuses on all 3 phones.

Phone is ok but there is icon of internet on home screen while in roaming , in absence of which it is difficult to know whether internet is in on position, also it is difficult to on-off the mobile data .

You should definately go for this one,because is the best of three,and it's speaker is a little bit improved than the other AndroidOne s,and it's shape feels good,and it doesn't have that metallic finish around the camera that makes the device horrible

Thanks. The clarity is nice and does not change colors in different angles. I haven�t as of yet clicked any pics or heard any music as I still have to pick up a memory card and without that you can�t even download a wassap pic if someone even sends you one.
