In case you still haven't solved your problem, try flashing an older version of MIUI and see if that solves the problem. You can then try the latest version if all is okay. Make sure to back up your data to multiple places. It will likely be a little niggle solvable with the classic "have you tried turning it off and on again!" Best of luck.

I'd suggest the explanation that your uses are different from mine. I gave up on playing demanding games (though this is probably due more to the poor quality of Play Store games than the poor thermal design of the Mi4i and its components) and using the camera a lot early on. For me, just browsing the internet, watching films and making calls caused no problems and the device hadn't overheated in over two years. Thanks to my early encounter with overheating it's safe to say that I became very careful and made a special effort to avoid letting the device overheat. I think in your case you're a lot more demanding than I was. Needless to say, I don't blame you for getting a new phone, considering the Mi4i's aged hardware and software. The difference between the Mi4i and my new phone, the Mi Mix 2, was night and day, by the way. Since using the Mi Mix 2, having gone back to a flagship level phone, I somewhat regret buying a mid tier one with the Mi4i. (iPhone 4 > HTC One M7 > Mi4i > Mi Mix 2).

Had this phone for almost 2 years now. Reeeeeaaaallly good phone! Not excellent, but good phone. Dropped it a lot of times but still is solid. You will like this fone if you're on the social media(fb,youtube et al)side. Camera is decent, both from and back. Button are still in pristine condition.iu is good. Still hasnt updated it for like a year now. But the bad side is..... (Sighs) Always overheats fast! Specially when i play games. Memory is getting low. No external sd slot.would really help if it has on. Battery performance has been falling gradually. Charging time is getting longer. Oh, did i mention it overheats really fat during playing games? Hey! I've had the Mi4i for about 2 and a half years, having purchased it online and used it in the UK. Out of the box, it was a pretty handset and the UI was smooth. The camera was average and at that point, the only reservation I had were the reports of overheating and the lacklustre storage capacity: realistically, only around 9GB. Once I started downloading apps and games, the very real threat of overheating became apparent, so much so, that on a long car journey during which I used Spotify, Google Maps navigation with bluetooth on and the screen on maximum brightness, my handset overheated, switched off automatically as a precautionary measure and wouldn't restart until it had cooled down. There seemed to be no damage to the internals, except for a mosaic of green pixels now visible across the entire screen whenever a solid, dark colour is displayed. Ever since then, updates to the handset have ensured the phone does not overheat. The updates themselves have been decent and fairly frequent, all things considered. I remember one update made UI navigation very, very choppy, to the extent that it rendered the phone unusable. Fortunately, downgrading the MIUI version is very easy. Respect for Xiaomi for bothering to release updates for these old phones, by the way! Today, the phone functions reasonably well; it's a perfectly serviceable Android phone. Sadly, the Lollipop Android is now becoming outdated for my uses, with a number of applications unavailable to me and certain applications have become slower and slower. Concrete examples include MIUI's Second Space being practically unusable and how on some web pages, browsers slow to a crawl very frequently. An issue perhaps only relevant to my phone, thanks to the previously mentioned damaged screen, are ghost touches and other screen-related glitches. They occur very frequently and are remedied with a reboot. I put this down to my handset, however, and I doubt this is symptomatic of all Mi4is. You want to buy this phone in 2018? Here are some positive aspects. I find the look of the phone charming. Moreso with the Mi4c thanks to its colours (it has better specs, by the way). There's something quaint about having a plain white plastic case with a large black screen. The pastel colours of the Mi4c would look even better. This was actually a criterion of mine when I first purchased this phone. At the time, I had gone into a shop and handled the iPhone 5c. I preferred its simple plastic build, when compared to the fancy metal one of my HTC, or the glass and metal of other iPhones. Perhaps the only reason I turned away from iPhone was the daunting price tag, considering its specs and features. I think I made the right choice. In the past 6 months, I've been using the Mi4i without a case and the slippery nature of the build has resulted in me dropping it... a lot... on concrete, tiles, wooden floors etc. There may be chips and scratches on my phone now, but functionally, there has been no change and at the very worst, the sim tray releases, so all you have to do is push it back in and you're good to go. Sticking with the plastic build, I haven't carried out tests for this, so it may be at best anecdotal evidence, but I find my wireless reception outperforms other handsets in my household, namely the Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Xiaomi Mi5. The very latest update (rolled out only 2 weeks ago in my case) has been a good one, bringing features present on much newer phones to this tired, old one. Unless you fancy playing around with other versions of Android, you'll be stuck with Lollipop, though MIUI does make that a little less painful. Should you buy it? Unless you pick it up for very cheap with a clean screen, don't bother. There are far more compelling purchases available. If you like the aesthetics of this phone, go for a Xiaomi Mi4c. In fact, when I was first thinking of replacing my Mi4i, I looked for the Mi4c, but couldn't find it at reputable vendors for a good price. If you're not interested in these criteria, you should look elsewhere. It was a nice, cheap handset aimed at a market entirely different to my own. It resonated with me and in some respects, I'll be sad to see it go. From now on, it will sit in its box on top of my wardrobe and wait until it will be called upon, its function now a spare phone.

it is coming soon in january but sadly after that there will be no updates for mi4i . xiaomi has officially stopped te updates for mi4i. performance is still not that great on miui9 so i use a custom rom running on nougat. THATS PRETTY FAST BUT ONLY THING I MISS ON THAT ROM IS CAMERA.

i got the Mi 4i for about 3 months now. Its a Solid entry level phone. Battrey is good for me. i last 1 day with moderate social media Usage (Whatsapp,Twitter,Pintrest). Screen resolution is also good for phone is also good for phone of this price. Phone Charges Fast. MIUI 8 is working well on this phone. i will def recommend if you are looking for entry level phone.

Such a waste of money. It is screen quality is so poor. If u drop it down may be by mistake. It's screen is gone. And everytime u send it for repair even in local shop. Mi 4i - the handset packed up 3 months after warranty period. Authorised service centre took hours to check and say mother board is gone. Cost of repairs Rs. 7000/- minimum, can be more, guarantee of 3 months after repairs. No receipt for keeping the phone for check up (you can wait for few hours at the centre, till examination is completed). No receipt is given for Rs.120/- for examining the defect. If you want receipt you can wait till it is printed from inside. Service centre as bad or good as Chinese products. Change over to Indian make. If Indian one is bad, at least it is not China who makes money on a bad product.

I've been using mi4i for 22 months. Performance of battery display camera etc ( bought mi4i only since it was getting nice reviews for these) are same as when I bought . One thing I should mention here is that I frequently use 4g hotspot for 9 hours a day (25%charge would be left after that) in my phone for office use. Watch a lot of movies in it. Still the phone is awesome. I have dropped my phone numerous times. But nothing happened to the display. Indeed there are some annoying bugs in miui. They are tolerable comparing with quality of phone. This is my first smart phone. I hear people who bought Samsung phone saying phones get hung and not so good camera quality. I started to wonder if there such thing as those. I really couldn't believe a phone can get hung. Just because of my experience with mi4i.

There are many Xiaomi mobile phones made by mobile phones companies in China. They can imitate till you cannot tell the different. If you get imitation phone, it gives problems. If you get Original Xiaomi phone, it seldom gives problem. I am still using my Mi4i (2 years already) and it don't gives any problem. Good camera, good photo colour. Dropped from my pocket shirt to the floor (when I bent over) about 5 times and it is still working fine!! The Mi4i tends to heat up when using camera for a longer time. Other than heating up problem, every things are gooo...oood.

So think of this, and MI service center is very bad so many people are there daily in Queue, you need to wait for more than 2 hours to get you turn. My mobile was more in service center rather than in my hand in a year MI 4 Now again one Mobile has motherboard problem - it would cost around 8K Another mobile touch is not working - it would cost 6K Redmi This one has gone, its working like crazy, it went off automatically, if you are on call you don't know when it will go sleep. I have purchased MI4I one and a half years back last December to March I was I USA within 15 days I reached USA my phone itermitatly switched off. It went off after reached India I took it ti the service centre an found that the battery swelled and motherboard become defective. Both have to be replaced. Now it is a scrape. I am strongly dissatisfied with the product.

I have mi4i device & I'm using this from 1.5 years. When I purchased it work good only 1 month then suddenly SIM SLOT-1 WORKING STOPPED. I went service centre but they said spare parts are not available this time then I used it 11 months then I again went to service centre & submitted it after passing 20 days they didn't respond then I took back my device. :( :( :( Now I went to service centre for changing it sim slot then they said it couldn't done by us.. .. . Whole BOARD will be replace in 6000/- but I checked it's spare part list on Internet the SIM SLOT AVAILABLE IN 300 RUPEE but they are not installing in it. I am very disappointed by mi service. Please no one purchase it's! :(

Using mi4i since oct15. I found it very nice phone in the beginning but as time passed it started annoying me. It gets hung intermittently during call. I updated MIUI lots of new cool modes added to camera but when I use it camera pretends capturing pics but it doesn't really saves those photos on memory :( It heats up on playing games or watching videos, this is not good. It's UI is really good but if basic functions doesn't work then a phone is good for nothing..

Long term user of mi4i. Been using august 2015 and I'm planning to change to another xiaomi phone. This phone is reliable and good. Battery life is also good , often on my mobile data and Bluetooth and it can last me at least 3hours of intense usage with gaming and music in background. Interface is simple and nice not as messy as samsungs. Overall a good phone and the price is super affordable.

I actually didn't receive the software update for some reason... I find software version 8.0.1.0 extremely unstable (with a lot of crashes), but my phone is not getting update 8.1.5.0. Manually downloading the ROM and installing doesn't work as the phone does not recognise the ROM~

if you are going to buy this phone... Please first be aware about it Maintenance. you should watch its mobile screen change process.It is very complex Mobile screen easily to break even inside the pocket because of poor quality of screen . screen repair cost is 4500 rupees in Mi service center. In market it cost 1900 rupees with temper glass. After break screen of mobile ,i spend 3800 rupees for change of broken screen with in single week. Mi phone touch is very impressive after apple iphones but i would like to recommend not to purchase Mi phone .its totally waste of money.

Pretty nice at the start, snappy, smooth. After a year of use, the screen glitches too much, and the phone crashes and hangs every few minutes. Sometimes, battery dies at 20%, and when you turn it back on, the image from the last used app is burnt into the LCD (or in some cases, completely black). Repairing the phone is out of the question (repairing the screen cost me half the price of the phone... replacing other stuff wouldnt be worth it; I'd rather buy a new phone). Overheats very frequently, and sometimes registers random touches. Screen is also completely dead (unusable), if there's a very small crack (first-hand experience here). Storage is really little (Im down to my last 500mb). However, camera is really good (better than the Note 3 and Note Edge), and built-in equaliser allows me to change the equaliser settings for wired earphones.

Hi this is Justin here. Guys I want to tell u all that I am using mi41 for one and a half year now and I am facing a lot of problems. In fact my problem started way before phone's first year.first of all if your WiFi is on and you are a hardcore user then you have to charge your phone 2-3 times a day that's insane. Second of all this phone is crappy slow even if I have 3gb internal memory still lift. My friend and I bought this phone together and we both have problem with this phone. Due to update the camera software became worse. There is repeated call drops that I have noticed(same with friend even though we have different network provider) phone now regularly crashes. I just want to say that do not get attracted by megapixel count, memory or processors. All these Chinese company suck especially xiaomi. Go for lower end Moto phones instead they are more reliable at any paramater.

My Mi 4i has just stopped working. Sequence of events: 1. Battery got drained. I did not charge the phone for 3-4 hours 2. Put phone on charging through normal power. Guys, I heard that MI had sold 7 lakhs handsets in the last 4 days. Good to hear that few more victims are getting added here. Never in my life I imagined that the mobile service center will be crowded with people. I had bought Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 almost 6 months back. more than a month back it fell down (just 2 feet) and the speaker stopped working. Later when I went to MI service center in Velachery on Monday evening at 4 PM, it was completely jam packed that I was not even able to enter into the store (too many victims :) ) after 2-3 hours of waiting i was able to reach the executive sitting at the front desk, I told him the problem and afetr waiting for certain hours he came back saying that water went inside and that is the reason speaker is not working, when I tried telling him that there is no water when it fell down but he was not interested to listen. Later only I realized that if the mobile is not working because the water goes inside then it will not be covered until warranty, they are using that point as a reason and wanted to suck the money from the customers who go even for minor issue. It is a month now that they are not able to rectify even the small problem. When i called them first in between they said that due to the strikes happening in Bangalore and Chennai border their truck has been stopped in Bangalore itself and once everything is normal their truck will reach Chennai with all the parts and recently they are coming up with new stories like the CM is not well so they are not getting the parts on time. The only thing i don't understand here is the MI manufacturing plant is in Chittor (Andhra Pradesh) and not in Bangalore. I don't know why they wanted to just bluff the people. So guys make sure if you bought or planning to buy Xiaomi products be ready to face these consequences.

I have purchased this phone online in April 2016. I am facing problem with front mic. When I call to someone, voice does not pass through front mic. Charger got fused after 5 days of purchasing. Facing issues with mic since the time I have purchased mobile. Within 5 months, I have visited service center for 4 times. I visited service center on 28th july and I was informed that it will take 2 months to repair my mobile because parts not available in warehouse. I sent mail to Xiaomi care and called so many times but no response. Still my phone is in service centre. very frustrated......

Since there was issue with the USB drive, I had given my phone to service centre. They have updated the software. But the issue is with the USB drive wherein I cannot charge the phone with any other charger chord.I don’t know what your technical person did with the USB. Again I went to service centre they told me that the USB has to be replaced & it will take 15-20 days. They told me to give me the phone for 15 days wherein they will replace the USB. Without phone for 15 days to stay is difficult otherwise some standby phone has to be arranged from your end. Even my sound problem is not resolved. It is not upto the mark. It is strange that there is no spares available in Xiaomi and it will take 15 days which is surprising that too with phone you have to keep I am very unhappy with the quality of the hardware within 1 year the phone is giving problems. The quality & performance of the phone is not up to the standard which the company promised.

I bought 4i in Oct 15. The phone suddenly got switched off while in use. Then it is not able to switch on. I went to service centre, they checked and infoed the phone is OK, battery was reading zero. But when battery usage was checked it showed battery was some 80% and then suddenly become zero. The service centre informed to bring again if the problem is faced and they will flash the software.

No upgrade on the Android OS but it seems faster than before and ram management seems to be better. Just used it for a couple of hours. Earlier before upgrade, it's a bit laggy. Every app launching and switching need to wait. Now seems faster. What happen I wonder 😑

The worst phone I ever purchased in my life. I purchased this in Oct-2015 and within 2-3 months its started getting hanged and slow, still somehow I managed to use it. Recently another issue with this phone is that this phone’s battery not getting charge with the charger, without charge of battery there is no use of any phone. Yesterday (21st Aug-16) I went to service station at Bodakdev-Ahmedabad where I see multiple customer with different complains in MI Phones. It was rush in service centre, there was no place to sit and waiting for all customers for almost 1 to 2 hours. This itself indicates that how often customer getting issues in this MI Phone. Even the customer service executives were very frustrated and were shouting to people like anything. My worst experience ever. When my turn came they asked me to keep my phone there for 15 days as the Part not available to them. Try to understand in today’s generation what should a person do without phone for 15 days? Do a person buy new phone to manage in those 15 days? Still I decided to give my phone but when I asked for internal data security they told they are not taking any responsibility of Data hence its better to take data backup. When this charging Point is not working then how should a customer take data backup? Becaue from the same point we have to connect wire in computer for data backup. Overall not at all good experience with phone and service centre. Totally waste of money. If you want to go for MI phone make sure you have another good phone as a backup for this MI phone.

I went to ,malad service center, There were lot of People complaining of problems in new phones. I had spent half day to get my new phone checked. i purchased the phone in nov 2015 and the same is within warranty which is of 1 year. It stopped working in the last week and i went to service centre located at thane, panchpakhadi. I was told that there is a liquid damage, hence phone cannot be repaired under warranty. When i asked about charges the she told that Rs.7400.00 and advised that don't go for repair just buy a new one. I was shocked and asked to get it repair under warranty but she told that its motherboard is totally out of order and has to replaced and other parts also damaged hence charges are Rs.7400.00 and data cannot be saved which is very important for me because all my numbers are in the phone. For second opinion i just handed over the phone to local mobile phone repairer. He said that it is not in very bad condition and he can repair the same with a charge of Rs.1000.00 without any data loss; and i got it repaired. The morale of the story is how the service centre of the reputed company is behaving and fooling the customers. Even they could have done the same, but misguided and tried to lure into buying a new one. Beware of such service centres.

I am using this device for more than a year, I purchased it on first Day First Sale. Now a days I am facing a really big issue on this device related to battery, phone got switched off after using Internet for couple of minutes no matter what was the battery percentage showing, then it didn't start, and I need to charge the phone to start, and the most irritating thing is that it start charging like 2%-4% then directly jumped to 40-60% and after couple of minutes its showing full charge and if I use the phone without charging I am facing the same issue again. I visit the MI service center regarding this issue, they were saying that it might be a software issue we have to flash the device which will charge Rs. 450/-, at first I agreed with that but then I asked them are you sure that after flashing the device my phone will work, they said if it didn't then you have to replace the battery as the battery is too old (its just 1 years 2-3 month old), and which will cost Rs. 800/- though it was written at the service center about the spare parts price details that battery cost is Rs. 499/- but they are charging me Rs. 800/- without any reason, and totally they are asking me to pay 1250 for just a single issue whether it should be solved by either replacing the battery or flashing the phone, So, I decided to purchase a new battery and flash it at home, but they replied we don't have the battery in stock, and to know when it will be available I have call them and ask them on a regular basis though they never pick the phone. So, I just flash it at home but problem didn't solve yet. So, My suggestion is to never ever buy any MI device

Its a ok sort of phone, camera is awesome but there is problem with mic. Noise reduction doesn't work and even you need to keep the phone at a exact position while speaking, else your voice won't be audible to the receiver. There is problem with GPS also. Location accuracy is very low and never shows correct location. Network reception is also weak.

Don’t give it a second glance. Horrible phone. Since I bought this phone it has gone to the Service Centre 3 times. They keep it there for more than 3 weeks. They use flimsy materials which are very delicate & break easily. They have the most horrible Service backup. The spares are never there and it takes minimum 3 to 4 weeks for the same to be sent from their parent company which unfortunately is situated in China. The service guys never pick up the phone & one ends up going to their service center for follow up every time. At the service centre you see many people shouting and quarreling almost everyday. Most horrible experience.

Please consumer, i beg of you, do not buy this phone! I got attracted by the looks and price and i bought this phone, but that was my biggest mistake. I have owned this phone for 14 months out of which it has been in the service centre for 4 months. It will cause you lots of issues and you will have to give it for servicing. Once you give it for servicing, forget about getting it back for at least 2 months. It has the worst and most inefficient customer service i have ever seen in any company till date. My phone is still in the service centre for more than 7 weeks for a very minor problem. Please don't fall into the trap and buy this phone!!

This is one of good phones under 15000. I loved this phone. It has a great attractive look bcoz of its slim figure.It camera & picture quality is not only good it's awesome. No phone under 15000 can compete this in camera quality launched till today(17/07/2016).It has some demerits too. First of all it's body to is too weak that only a shatter can destroy this phone completely.Second it's hardware creats many problem.I have given my phone 3 times in service in first 6 months.No any problem regarding hanging or lagging. So it is good for those who doesn't buy the phone to play football with them.

I am using this Device with Global Stable ROM MIUI 7 (OTA) since it launched at Indonesia a year ago. No Problem's found. Good Performance, Battery Endurance is good better than MI4C/Redmi Note 2. Also Camera is amazing but front camera is not wide angle as MI4C. With affordable price, better performance, a wide angel front camera and faster charging, go for MI4C ! There are a lot of negative feedback with this phone but I haven't got them here. It does not mean my Mi 4i has no issues. It had had one with the display being flickering very occasionally. It was a month ago when xiomi claims they fixed for me after returning it to their center, However it again happened to mine a few days ago but it was when my phone was somewhat hot. So I learnt that it is important to keep the battery in good health and to avoid overheat problem. I find the screen function "battery usage" a very helpful tool to verify no application is draining too much my battery (thus causing heat problem). Right now my system shows 14% for Android sys, 7% for Android, Whatsapp 6%, Handwritten input 4%, voip 2%, mail only 2%, gmail 1%. My battery is now down to 17% full after it was fully charged 24 hours ago, with normal usage since. The system now reports I still have 13 hours of phone life (if battery usage is unchanged). There are about 6 email mailboxes to check for my phone so it is very important not to allow automatic email synchronization. It was found that email sychro actually eats up considerable battery power and I suspect that was one of the major issues I had initially. It was 3 months time after using this new phone. Normally I do not have to recharge the battery more often than daily. In case my use is normal (no gaming, no google maps, only phone calls, some web browsing, instant messaging) I trust it continues to behave the same. I do not know if battery performance could be better with phones of other brands but at least mine is now comparable to what my another friend told me with his phone of the same make/model.

Baban: Strange that I saw a lot of negative feedback with this phone here for which the experience I and my friend do not encounter. Initially I was annoyed by having blank screen also. I refer to the case I must press the power button on the side to restore the screen. Lately I discovered in my case it is the wrong setting with "battery profile". You have to go to settings > Ad' settings > Battery > By default the system choose a build-in profile called "default". I think xiomi has set up the default which turns off the screen (put to sleep) after 30 seconds which is too short. The user is not allowed to change its value. All we need to do is to create his/her own profile with a 5 minutes sleep delay and select it as the new battery profile. This is my two cents.

Very bad phone. If it falls down touch goes off and later got it replaced by new one for 2500 rupees. within a week it just fell from 30 cms height on a carpet and again its touch has gone.

My mi4i was in my pocket with no coins inside, my phone had tempered glass too, but when I tool i my phone, i found its broken and worst part 90% of touch are not working. For Indians I will suggest never buy mi4i phones. They have so less service centres, nearest one is 200kms away from my city. And even in warannty they are charging a lot to repair my phone and worst part is that they are keeping phones for 15+ days in there service centeres. Hieeee every mi4i lover'$ I was thinking same as what u all mi4i fans think before going with mi4i finally. So let me brief u about my wonderful experience with mi4i almost about 2 and half months. Very first thing is I attract towards the compact slim stunning look where it stand aside out of all it's very competitor till date as it's announced just before a yr in 2015. Thn comes lively thing is it's stunning 441* PPI sooooo awesome live screen which one cannot find also in iphone 6s. Battery life is quit awesome.... Thn comes to performance which I hardly say excellent not awesome or out of world as it's bit lag not like sumsung i must clear. Overall awesome experience with it as it's style statement too plus one can grab almost all hardcore features in around 12k which is budget friendly too. Now let me spread some light towards normal stuff like heating well major is heating rght ... Thn I must say iphone is all heated while gaming as well as browsing almost every mobile do on normal base.....but mi4i is heated near about 40 or 42 * which little high as compare to some devices as it's being said tht it's due to snapdragon 617 cheap set..... Whatever it is I may not face any problem while it goes at 40 or 42* U ll use too once u ll get in use with it ... This is very true to the best of mine ... Go for it ...

i regret after buying this phone. the main problem is it heats more . heats when browsing, playing small games even for 5 minute.mi ui is not good because my friend using asus laser and it's interface is very good.sound is less. no sd card slot which is a big disadvantage in this phone....only good thing is it's camera and display and it feels very compact in hand.

Servicing is worst. they had my phone for 1 month due to motuerboard/charging issue. Now they have my headphone for 2 weeks and they told me it will take another 1 week. Definitely check your settings especially the camera. How can it hang in a cool AC room indoors? Try clearing the cache regularly. Have you updated to the latest miui 7230. Check it at update in settings.

very good phone. i bought it in RS/- 9000 on Diwali scheme. only two problem i have faced since i bought it. 1- in temp of 40+ if you are out in sunlight ( works smooth when you are indoors) it act like a drunk driver .. touch gets sluggish, phone hangs. if you use camera in such heat it stuck.but in normal temp below 40 ( out in sunlight ) it works smooth. 2- Camera is very good in still pictures but when you record video its not up-to marks. i tried both HD and Full HD mode. no improvement. Rest of all is awesome..

Some addition to my review, specs says that it has 16gb memory, but becaus of the pre installed app,u will only hav 10gb of fone memory. Same issue on ram, it has 2gb ram, but Becuase of the pre installed running apps, u will only have 1gb remainig ram. Mobile look is nice! It is smaller size mobile for 5 inch display i find for the corresponding budget! Display is FHD and good! MiUi interface is nice! Different color notifications LED makes notifications easy to identified! Many things to do with this mobile! Hi, I already use this phone about 10 months. I don't have any problems, well except sometimes the phone got warm. Just turn it off for a while when the phone got warm. The camera is so good! Always try to update it regularly. and there's no external memory. You can also use USB OTG too. Overall, I love this phone!

Quite a nice phone. Please remember this is a cheap mid-range phone, not high-end. If ur phone having overheating/ lagging, probably u running few apps in background without exactly quit them. if battery running low in short time, probably install many apps that tend to autorun in background especially messenger like Facebook messenger. restrict the apps' activity in 'manage apps' battery usage' setting. If want excellent performance, better buy those expensive high-end phones instead. I have no much complaints except the buggy MIUI.

Xiaomi mi 4i is pretty good phone with awesome graphics dekstop and themes. It has a normal battery life very light phone and camera is also pretty good which have dual led flash in back. Touch is better than Samsung and it has 6 type of sensors light,proximity,gravity,hall,flip cover etc and it has various other modes also and their no heating effect at all.Overall it is a nice phone with less price and it is also safe to buy.

Don't ever think to buy this cheap chinese phone. Their devices as well as their service centre and customer support is the worst in the world. I got this on 22/Oct/15 from Amazon, and within first 15 days I started experiencing heavy call drop problem. I contacted Xiaomi for replacement but they denied and asked me to submit my handset to service center. Since I didn't had any other choice I need to submit it to service center, they returned it back to me after 15-20 days after changing its motherboard. When I started my phone again and inserted SIM card in both SIM1 and SIM2 slots, there was no network at all, I need to revisit service center again and they said its motherboard needs to be replaced again. They have again repalced the same and gave it back to me. I felf some sound coming out of the handset now, I re visted service center again and asked them to open in front of me, they did and found that 1 screw was missing and they very easily replied that engineer might have missed the screw by mistake but the sound was still there, they said you can get your motherboard replaced once again if not satisfied. When I again tried to insert SIM card into both the SIM slots, still no network. Can anyone imagine a smartphone without network, you tell me what to do with this cheap mobile now. Be ware of this local mobile company, its better to get Freedom 251 rather than this one.

Switching from the Huawei g620, just today, i must say all the best in favour of XIAOMI. An excellent and up to date piece of hardware. OctaCore 2.0 vs QuadCore 1.4, dobule the amount of ram, 5,5" vs 5", FHD vs HD... Im currently copying the full hd (.mkv) of xfiles pilot and see how well it plays it :) My hopes are high for the test. Since i managed to pay 155€ for this phone (ill try and sell the HUAWEI phone).... for me 9/10 (-1 because of the crancky back cover).

FB messenger has bugs doesn't function they way it is supposed to 3. Mails - are kind of delayed. Not real time. 4. IN summers it stops charging when its really hot outside My verdict- not reliable Android experience... Could be given a pass. So what should you go for/put your money on? Moto series, Samsung nexus or LG nexus will remain my choice. All the best

I have bought this phone for Rs. 9999 . Phone UI is not so great but it still value for money. Good HDR stills but Video recording is not great. Sound quality is average on headset and low on loud speaker. It heats up even after all updates yet but didn't blasted till now. I felt the phone provides a good battery backup always. If you can manage with the heat , you can't blame the phone. Oh yeah.. The phone lags sometimes just like any other phones do. It's Android.

This phone uses snapdragon 615. It's a fail product. This phone lags and hot like hell. When it is hot it throttles its core usage down and it makes it lags even for basic usage (fb, browing, messenger, wa, bbm). You don't even need to game to make it lags. Don't ever buy phone with snapdragon 615.

As a mi4i user, I can't expect more than my previous phone Sony Experia Z1. Yes, it's using octacore, but slower than Z1 quadcore with same 2Gb RAM. Lack of performance, a lot of lag while gaming, slow response while typing, and very slow camera reaction. Using default settings, latest official miui, and still nothing changes in performance.

I bought this phone mid November 15, from airtel outlet, within one month we face problem after several visit to service centre, it was not get repaired. they ask to keep this phone another 15 days. Earlier they took more than 20 days but still no clue. It seems to be a fraud company. They don't have any proper aftersevice....., we get cheated. i think its waste of money to buy such a companies handset.

Look it's a good set at a reasonable price. Frankly you should get the latest version of miui v 7110 it fixes many bugs and has helped in synchronization to a smooth phone now.

Nice design and build quality evn though it's made from plastic. The main problem is snapdragon 615 is a hot processor so miui throttle the cpu clocks down when it's getting warm causing it to lag.

Got problem related to battery of mi4i but when I went to Xiaomi's service centre in chandigarh they were asking for Rs 285 for opening and checking of moblie even the mobile was under warranty period, they took my phone inside the maintenance cabin and said " this mobile has some motherboard issue so you need to pay Rs. 6500" This was not expected from Xiaomi . been using mi4i for 6 months the performance is good however now my phones touch got cracked and my touch wasn't working any more been used to samsung with gorrila glass technology which worked fine with the whole touch being smashed till display is fine i consider Mi4i a delicate ph. . moreover it does not even support tampered glass and screen guard as touch become worse with it .

I have one Mi4i, technically, it is in my drawer now :) Serious problems are still remaining unresolved despite many updates on MIUI. 1. Heat 2. Lag 3. Battery life These 3 major problems would make a disaster in your normal day usage. Eventually, I bought a new Oppo R7plus, bigger screen, but also using the same chipset/processor as Mi4i. I can't find the above 3 issues at all with this Oppo. PS: If you really want to buy this MI4i, think twice please :)

Newest or latest Android don't have much effect if you have MIUI ROM installed on your Mi phones coz MIUI has regular updates like 3 weeks-1 month for global stable version. I want to switch to MIUI CN developer ROM just want to experience the weekly (or be-weekly) updates.

One and a half day for me. By the way, I am not a heavy user. Only FB, WA, BBM installed for social media and chatting. Watching youtube 1-2 hours a day. Almost never playing games. Maybe not for all of you, but I really like the MIUI very much. One of my other phone have almost pure Lollipop installed, but that device can't be installed with MIUI skin, not supported, coz it is local brand and not famous. OK I tell you, it is Andromax 4G, last time I checked it doesn't have MIUI for this. Thanks.

I got the phone yesterday with same problem. But i clicked on the security and scanned for cache, it cleared all 11gb of cache. And the storage as promised was available. Dont worry. Besides, this i am using xiaomi mi4 past one year. These xiaomi mobiles are awesome. Great camera, awesome battery backup and prompt software Update.

This is a piece of shit. #1 It got dropped from a height of 3 fts and the screen was broken. Had to get it replaced in 4.5K. # On replacing the screen - it stopped detecting signal. So now the mother board has to be replaced. #3 On replacing the motherboard again the same issue so the service center guys mentioned they will replace the board again. Moral of the story I bought it in Oct 15 and it's still at the service center. Never every buy this piece of shit.

For itd relarively low price, it is quite a good phone. For pros: it is cheap, has a good camera with vibrant colour and it has all the nessesities like a calendar flashlight etc. The phone also looks good because its slim and sleek.it also has this cleaning system which ensures the phone is completely optimized. For cons: it can lag sometimes and there has been times where it glitched and the whole screen turned blue for around a minute before it restarted. It may overheat terribly. It cant store alot of photos otherwise it gets laggy. I got my phone on the 9th of August so its been my phone for 4 months and despite it lagging, there hasnt been any major problems like loss of contacts or anything like that. If you are looking for a cheap phone a good camera you should really get this phone.
