Xiaomi Mi Max 4 - User Reviews

  • Huawei Ymax 7.2"phablet all kinds of facilities are here with, two Sim slot, one memory slot, very good performance but swami presenting hybrid Sim slot,

  • Damn you Xiaomi. I was really waiting for this phone. I know that Mi Max 3 might have sold less than expected but many were happy with Mi Max 2 and felt there was no reason for upgrade and were waiting for Mi Max 4. Mi Max 4 would have sell well. I'll have to look for some other manufacturer big phone now. I only hope they are still gonna release it but just at a later date. Is harsh trying to release every year at the same time a new improved phone. Sometimes tech and prices simply didn't advance much in a year and also the technicians are too pressed. So i hope they just said that to release the pressure and just release it later when they are comfortable. I mean that phone looks awesome from the specs. Getting those specs with similar pricing as the Mi Max 3 it would be amazing.

  • Fake news. It's gone.

  • It might be fake news that the Mi Max 4 has been abandoned. Respected tech sites yesterday were talking about its release. Of course, it might be intentional fake news - in order to try and sell out the remaining stock of Mi Max 3

  • What about you try huawei mate 20X 5G for an option?

  • This is a such expected phone for many and they decided not to make it. I hope some company make a 7 inch phone with decent spects and camera soon, for now the Samsung a70 looks like a good option.

  • So disappointed they canceled the mi max series. I was hunting for a phablet a few years ago and heard about mi max and after researching i went for the mi max 2. After a year i upgraded to the mi max 3. I really love these phones what a shame. Big screen, fast, long battery life. Simply fantastic especially at the price point.

  • What idiots cancelling the Mi Max 4. I guess I'll go ahead and order a One Plus 7 Pro now even though it's too small for me as I really really wanted a 7.2'' phablet screen.

  • Damn, looks like they feel the Max series is going to be redundant in the light of the upcoming Foldable smartphones.. But I think they'll regret this decision, cuz Foldable phones are going to be expensive, not to speak about their unknown durability.

  • It says on the Xiaomi website there will be no Mi Max 4.

  • Please increase fast charging to 25W or 27W (quick charge 4+). I use now Max 3, good phone.

  • Thank you. I am aware of these models but there are a few problems with them. Firstly, T2 7 Pro with 3GB RAM are extremely scarce. I own a Lenovo Tab3 7 LTE with 2GB RAM, and it is a pain in the @ss to write an e-mail or longer text. You have to wait some 2-3 seconds until the characters appear on the screen and when you mistype, the correction is very slow and annoying. Sure, it has only a quad-core MTK, but I am not sure if the octa-core SD can handle it much better with only 2GB RAM. Secondly, it has Android 5.1 only. Isn"t this a 'little' obsolete for today's browsing and general handling? Thirdly, the Mediapad X2 is scarce too and it still maintains a high price, even if used. I simply fear to buy from afar for a considerable price. It's a big risk for me. p.s.: there is also a Zenfone 3 Ultra, but its similar with Mediapad X2. And last time I saw a new one from Hong-Kong, the only available color was pink :-P So it would be nice to have something newer these days..

  • Go search to ebay for huawei t2 7 pro and huawei mediapad x2, you won't be dissapointed!

  • I would personaly welcome a 7" phablet with 16:9, midrange SoC and LTE capability, which is an ideal browsing and e-mail writing device, which is still highly portable (u can put it inside a breast pocket of a jacket), unlike the 8" tablet. And a smartphone up to 15cm lenght as a 'personal communicator' that fits confortably in any throusers' pocket. So Im for a 2-piece solution, not into a 6+" device that doesnt fit into throusers, barely lasts one day, and is still too small for comfortable browsing...

  • In my personal opinion, and from what I see in some of the users, friends and people with whom I work every day, almost perfect device for the middle market will be the XL version of the A series of Xiaomi, for example MI A3 PRO or MI A3 XL as google does on its devices. There is no doubt that the MI A1 and A2 & A2 Lite are good and successful devices. But I believe there is a place and expectation in the market for a very large device for the A series made by Xiaomi. because when a customer is interested in an Android One device such as MI A2 for example because it runs a clean Android but also interested in MI MAX 3 because of the screen's size, the situation here is that there is a dilemma what buy between two quite different devices. The best solution in my opinion is to produce a larger version (possibly even more premium) of the A3 as Huawei does with the P20 / P30, Samsung with the S10, Google with the Pixels, etc. - to this place the market is marching... or alternatively create an Android one version to the MI MAX 4 / MI MAX 4 PRO, which will be released very soon. Such a device is currently lacking and I personally estimate that there will be demand if it is launched. I hope that Xiaomi receives feedbacks from their customers, listening them (and maybe reading comments) while receiving their decisions before production. I would like to hear from the users of this wonderful website what do you think? Thanks (-:

  • I wish they also made a high-end Mi Max 4.

  • i want wireless charging and bib battery & big display with o led and with very fast chip set

  • i want waterproof u can use wireless headphones lol.

  • im waiting for this, when it will launch!!!

  • Xiaomi don't listen to this guy. Waterproof means no 3.5mm jack, and I would rather have that than waterproofing.

  • Xiaomi. You guys should make this phone water resistant or water proof. If yous do this. This phone will be number one for sure :)

  • I too am waiting for it. Don't know what to say really. We'll see.

  • A very good tablet BUT hybrid ruins other qualities of it.Lack of NFC,radiowithoutrds recording .USB 3.1 and OTG ,BLUETOOTH 5.1 plus its auxiliaries are are downgraded !!! But $ 200 price is good but not better and best ! Dearest Xiaomi(hybrid BRAND) YOu make good with good price but not better and the BEST before joining history !!!? Please do it better and best !!Nowadays some Chinese brands are better than Apple products , why not YOU!!!?RECOMMENDED TENDER BUT NOT DESTRUCTIVE AND DECEPTIVE HYBRID ...Guys to publish.....Thanks gsmArena and all better best maker brands.Only Justice Rights is victorious.....

  • Are we going to see Mi Max 4 and Mi Max 4 Pro at all? I mean, nothing official from Xiaomi and not sure for how long I can wait before replacing my old phone with Mi Max 3

  • I think it's high time they moved the Max series away from the 14nm SoC.10nm would make it more efficient. Can keep the battery at 5500mah even (though 5800mah can create chart topping battery times, dethroning even the max 2) Like the Huawei Note 10, 10bit display and 10bit HEVC decoding....that should make it a flagship killer in terms of media consumption at least. And a dedicated microSD slot. And FOR SURE time to relegate usb 2.0 to history.

  • WeChat Pay and AliPay, the dominant mobile payment services in China, use QR codes and not NFC. They also have way more users than Google Pay. NFC chip only cost a dollar or two, but Xiaomi makes only a few dollars on their phones (less than 5% profit), so every dollar counts.

  • xiaomi should make a blackshark with mi max size.

  • When is release date

  • Exactly. That's the same thing that has turned me to a xiaomi user since 2013 when i discovered their phones and started comparing with the competitors and they just blow everyone out of the water.

  • All this time I've been wasting my time and hard earned money on Samsung and Huawei phones. This will definitely be my next phone, it's got all I really need in a phone : a big decent display to watch videos, no fuss cameras and most importantly headphone jack, microSD card slot, IR port and enough battery juice to last me at least 2 days. And all that, at a reasonable price, what's more to ask?

  • Hey,10years soon...when launch?

  • Let's see if can compete with the Samsung galaxy a70. Camera, OLED display, DAC, cpu and bezels. If Xiaomi manage to put the same size 6.9" in a smaller body and OLED display with the same or smaller price tag than the a70 then this will be really interesting.

  • well all the websites and rumor mills said april 16... the announcement cant be far off, it should be any day now.

  • Did they??

  • Mi Max is the big brother of redmi note series, so tier drop notch should be on this new Mi Max too.

  • no notch please, small bezels and if you can, put an amoled display. 6.8" would be enough. also please xiaomi use a good DAC for audio quality and separate slots for two sim cards and micro sd card.

  • This is something I'll be very interested in

  • NFC is surely the future, even for the Chinese and Indian market. If Xiaomi want to grab a reasonable chunk of UK and US sales, shouldn’t it be a priority? Am I being naive? Is including it an expensive business?

  • this isnt a gaming phone...

  • Aparently they will anounce Mi Max 4 on 16 April... thats in 1 week time.

  • when this cell will be true handy

  • any idea if this phone is going to be released? rumors told that we may expect him around feb-mar...

  • I would love the charging port on the top as I like to sit and browse while charging and I have to hold the phone and can't rest the bottom of the phone on my knees due to the charger port. I wish it was on the top .

  • You have a choice of THOUSANDS of phones under 6.5 inches. Those of us who want a bigger phone have very little choice indeed. Probably less than 10 phones and most are terrible spec so I wouldn't buy. The Mi Max series is for people who want a bigger phone and I personally would love 7.5 but 7.2 will suffice I guess. Why complain about a phone that you are not interested in ??

  • 7.2 is perfect - too many phones between 6.2 and 6.5. Max/XL should be over 7. 6.5 phone is no wider than my Archaic Lumia 950XL (thanks to aspect ratios)

  • Why there is no manufacturer that make a phone with HEADPHONE JACK&USB PORT on the side, not in the bottom. We gaming often while charging and hardcore game usually in the landscape mode like MOBA or PUBG.

  • Make It 70" , NOT JUST 7", you know, just for making it more practical to move around with it!!! Tsk, tsk, tsk..... Do you seriously think that our pockets are THAT big, or that we like to carry a SHOE with us all day long???? Tsk, tsk, tsk..... Brain, people, BRAIN!!! Just put it to GOOD use!!!!

  • Make Mi max Pro with 845 & keep other feature of note 7 pro. But give Stereo speaker & good quality Headphone sound with either 3.5 Jack or give two USB port one for Audio & other for Charging

  • Mi max with true stereo speaker then it will be a great unique selling point

  • bro please tell me.. This is tablet view or mobile phone view? if tablet view i wanna get one..

  • Make it loud dual true stereo speaker since it's a entertainment phone.

  • Can't wait !!!

  • Please Xiaomi don't forget 3.5mm headphone jack (with good audio quality), and try not to make it with a hole on the screen with less capabilities selfie camera (not cool). Put a better quality display (ips is fine). NFC would be a nice touch but as seen before that's not their priority.

  • Make it with subwoofer stereo speakers. It will be its USP . Dumb Xiaomi . Did you guys listen

  • must have wirlees charge and must have global rom for the 6/128 other wise it wont be worth it

  • Can mi max 4 come with true stereo speaker. It will be a good entertainer device.

  • Agree, I hope they dont get that outdated (and pretty ugly) camera notch. If so, then its goodbye Max 4 for me. But I light a little hope that they will come to their senses and give us a whole complete unbroken screen :)

  • 1. A notch is so yesterday. The max series used to be a trendsetter. I hope Max 4 at least tries to adopt current trends i.e. pinhole camera than to be trailing behind the competition and resurrecting bygones. 2. Maybe they should take a leaf out of Redmi's book and ask Mi forum users to vote for the features than to have one person sitting in an office try and guess. Why guess when you can simply ask! 3. It's high time UFS 2+ was adopted. 4. 64gb storage should be an option but I think with cameras of this size 128gb should be a mainstay? 5. Whichever the processor package, shift away from 14nm already! 6. Time to embrace HEVC (x265 and 10bit) was yesterday. Better late than....at the end of the line. 7. Can we please keep the 3.5mm jack? Such a humongous body surely has space for it.... 8. Can this max series have a vanilla Android variant too? 9. Can we have a dedicated camera button/ user programmable button? Phone sure can support such a unique thing. Will be a good selling point. 10. Some sort of IP rating? IP68? 67? So 10 thinking points here, though just 5-6 months to it's release I think they already have the final product in shape by now.

  • Can't wait to buy... Is the same screen size as Huawei mate 20 X. The best choice for small tablet with phone call and my iPhone 7. So I got small tablet (phablet) and my regular phone to have both phone call functioning.

  • Very interesting that the Mi Max 4 is currently on the Rumor Mill about the specs..
