Hi every none.. I'm using my Alcatel one touch scribe easy 8000d since long. It became dead due to faulty charger wire (it got short due to my own mistake). Now on charging, phone red light goes ON permanently but doesn't get ON for further action. Pls help me as I miss my phone book. Thanks

Update: I broke this phone's screen after multiple failure :( the screen shatter so bad but suprisingly the touchscreen still works and lcd is fine. I give it away to finish my suffering,finally I got a new 100x better phone LOL

I've been using this phone for almost a year now and still alive and running just fine. first I must say I don't recommend this phone for people who doesn't like lag and unstable os. this phone pissed me off alot of times already and keep throwing it and suprisingly, the phone is pretty rugged and has a great build quality. I got this from sun plan and I must say,don't get this cause it's not worth it and you'll regret soon. The great/bad things of this phone is written below. Pros: The camera is mediocre and great on good lighting environment. Build quality is pretty rugged and tough specially the scratch resistant screen. Battery is good and last long for 2 days on light usage. Cons: Performance is terrible in this phone, PERIOD. The android OS is unstable due to low end specs. PS. You should root this phone to increase performance optimization but beware, this void warranty of the device. That's all 😊

A COMPLETE PIECE OF GARBAGE AND A WASTE OF MONEY! Good for you if you're still using this phone till this century. hahaha.. but either way the good side of this unit is BATTERY life, lastly but not the least opinion for this unit downside is that it only have 512MB Ram which just right for the price and complete useless for the unit.. if you're on a tight budget and wanted to have an android with a low end phone this phone is for you a complete garbage.

hi, i also have the same problem with what you're xperiencing, almost the same to what you mentioned.. All you need to do is back-up the neccesary files and reformat your phone.. just a heads-up that this phone only have the capacity of 512MB Ram which is capable with the applications you're installing and it will be running on your background even if you go to recent apps and swipe it also your android system apps running, which is not that bad if you're not a heavy gamer..

Hi! I just got my ALcayel One TOuch Scribe from sun postpaid plan 399. I can now use it. My problem is whenever I use my Facebook Application there is this facebook browser always popping up and asking me to log in to it. Why does it always pop out? It always distracts me from doing other things here on my phone. And the other thing is, it is way too SLOW! Very very slow. How can I use this phone with a fast internet surfing??? Ive got my Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy 8000a this month, its a 2nd hand phone, sun plan. The camera makes me satisfied but when it comes to browsing using data or even the wifi it's giving me headache. Poor,slow,cant upload anything or even a simple browsing on google.But, it depends upon the location. Overall i liked my phone however i do some research now to upgrate it for a better use. For people who loves surfing try Alcatel One Touch D5. I also have this one and it has a good OS and core.

Hi! I got this phone free from my Sun Postpaid. My problem with this phone is the Camera. A lot of times I would take a photo then the screen will prompt, "Unfortunately Gallery has stopped" and so the photo taken will not be saved. Some of my friends told me that it might be due to low memory but my SD card still has 14GB free and internal memory of 2GB free. Another problem I encountered is that when I view photos from the gallery, a lot of times the current photos that I took using the phone's camera do not show up but what pops on the screen are photos that were already deleted from my phone. I also encountered problems in the ringtones. A lot of times, my assigned ringtone to my husband would change and I will only know about it when he calls me. I had went to the authorized service center of Alcatel in Makati and I left the phone there for a week (under its warranty). The staff seemed to acknowledge that the problems I encountered are the same as what other customers experienced as well. They repair it but then there was almost no improvement on the phone's performance. If there is any advise that you think I can do from my end to address these problems, please reach out. Thanks!

This phone is great! My review: 1. No force closes. 2. At least a day of surfing the Internet and video streaming under HSPA, playing high graphics games like Dead Trigger 2 and playing Tekken with PPSSPP, sending SMS and calling. 3. Camera is great. 4. Sounds are loud enough from the built-in speaker and bass and treble are loud enough from the headset. 5. Games and overall performance is fast enough, with little to no lag.

1. download framaroot in this link & install it. 2. open framaroot, choose install supersu 3. click gandalf (not the aragon) 4. window will pop up that it's roorting success.. if your still doubtful, you can install root checker in the play store and check. if the checker says, root failed,then you did not follow the right root instructions. hope this helps! p.s. i already rooted my fone and i am satisfied with its performance.

GOOD PHONE. I Would recommend it. Some of the negative comments below are from people who don't know how to take care of their phones. You just need to know how to use the features to their extent and limit, don't overwork your phone and of course download a few apps to make sure its efficient. The phone is a good dual-core phone for its price and it has not disappointed me. Camera takes very decent photos, not that better than an 8MP camera. Phone force closes when you try to use too many apps which is expected. Please download Greenify or RAM boosting Apps to prevent this and everything should be fine. The phone will definitely get hot when you charge it. -_- it's built in. You just need to close some apps or keep it cool with air and it should be fine. Also, please note: More RAM usage = More heat.

Hi! I just got this from a postpaid plan and using it for about 6 months. For 6 months, I didn't experience any force close issues, battery lasts for about six and a half hours of playing games, using the Internet, texting and playing music, playing games with little to no lag except for high graphics games which is not smooth all the time, the phone itself has little to no lag and the touch screen and capacitive buttons are very responsive. By the way, I'm just playing around and type this *#*#4636#*#* on the dialer and I found some options in network type: LTE/GSM/WCDMA, LTE only, LTE/WCDMA. Does your phone have these options, too?

I got it from Sun Postpaid Plan 450 last March 2014 since then I didn't experience any force close until now (August 2014). But, my main issue with this phone is it gets hot when I'm using the internet while charging and also, it is sometimes laggy. But overall it's a very good phone. For people having issues like force closes (that didn't happen to me, even after updating it), I think you can upgrade your Scribe Easy with One Touch Upgrade 2.7.1. You can download it from Scribe Easy page on Alcatel's website under Support tab, run the program and follow the instructions. It's because, I think, that your kernel version is a little bit outdated. You can check it by going to Settings>About phone and check the date on Kernel version. If you read the date something like '2013 Jul 26', then it is outdated, but if it's not (something like this, '2014 Feb 6', then the problem is the system.

Are you sure you are talking about Alcatel Scribe Easy Phone? Because mine has different specs with yours...for example my Scribe Easy has no 1GB memory but 512 only...

I acquired my Alcatel Scribe Easy phone last week of April this year through my SUN postpaid plan. I encountered lots of problems with this phone and here are some of them: - apps always crash - can't even open facebook app - erased my pictures and videos in my SD card - phone gets very hot frequently - etc. I'm now using this phone just for texting and calling only...nothing else. It's like using a backward or old phone. Anyone can help me how can i maximize the usage of this phone...i really welcome it. um guys.. i just wanna ask something, i got this phone through sun plan 450 last month, and i'm extremely annoyed right now 'coz of the problems that this phone is giving me... first off, most of the time, the touch sensor goes crazy on me like it's double clicking or ding triple or quadruple clicking on its own and starts clicking anywhere on my screen, really anooying, second, apps crash frequently like the chrome, gallery, etc... third, mine's only got 2.45gb of internal memory and 413mb of RAM.... seriously?? o.O.. i myself can't even believe it until i downloaded an app and tried to read my phone info.. =_=... yes you heard it right, 413 mb of RAM... not joking... and the internal's extremely small too T.T. 4th, battery is draining like hell... no apps are running and i made sure of that b4 making it sleep, then after 30 mins the battery went crashing downhill from 100 % to only 71%, like what the F***??... and when i tried playing music, the battery consumption decreased drastically, this is while playing music okay??.. 1 % lasts for 7 - 8 mins.. lowest brightness and max volume... *puzzled* i mean, isn't it supposed to be the other way around?... so um... err... is it still possible to get a replacement unit for this one??.. replacement or change??... 'coz it's over a month now :/

This unit became unresponsive after a drop. I guess it dropped from just a foot high and then it's no longer responding to touch. Great. I have to reboot and it'll start working like normal again but as soon as the phone locks/sleeps, It'll no longer respond to touch unless I reboot again. delete the thumbnail in the gallery. close the gallery app or shut off the phone. If you open the gallery again, it will generate new thumbnails based on the pictures stored in it.

PLEASE READ. I feel v bad for people who are willing to waste their money on this piece of $h!+, so I am writing this to tell you the truth. To people who are asking if this phone is good to choose, no. It is not. It's a waste of time and goddamned money. Especially the money. The phone sucks� if you use it for a certain amount of time it suddenly powers off, no matter what you are doing, to which I still have no idea why. Occasionally, when that happens, the battery gets lowered by 15-25%. Especially when you're charging. Sometimes it also suddenly rejects to read the SD Card. No matter what you're doing, no matter what time it is, it will suddenly happen. And when that happens, you'll have to power off the device, remove the SD card, then pop it in again. Power on. And the gallery. God, I hate when this happens. When the device powers off, and you turn it on again, the gallery is reset into NOTHING. No thumbnails, no pictures, nothing. You are lucky if the pictures are still there. I mean, the pictures are still there, but the gallery won't read it. It is incredibly annoying. Also, after a while of using the device and accumulating pictures the thumbnails of the pictures get all mixed up. Like one picture is supposed to be like this, but on the thumbnail it shows another picture, and if you press it and zoom in it will show the supposed picture. What even. Currently, I am using ES file explorer/cymera to view my gallery. My camera also doesn't work anymore. It says something about how it cannot connect to the camera. If you're still having doubts whether to buy it or not, I suggest you read more. This phone is LAG. Yes, the very definition of lag. I don't even want to talk about lag anymore, it only frustrates me. The battery gets drained very fast. My brightness is in the lowest setting and yet within less than 1 hour, with a

I'm back! yesterday i bring the phone in main service center in citylight telcom center. i just tell the csr what are my complaint about the unit. well unfortunately technician is on there breaktime i'll go back after 2hrs. and then they upgrade the software of the phone. well its fine, regarding with camera but then when i go home i try and try to picture in a dark area so. when i shot in far the flash is not useful im thingking maybe this phone is not useful in a distance shot using flash and now i figure another problem in the screen looks like puzzle or what..huhuhu i am tired to go back in greenhills. and also in sun shop. but it is not the unit itself , but the money you pay per month. this time can i demand to replace this unit because its giving me a headache.

hey guys, if you have a problem regarding the gallery, you may able to disable it and install another gallery from the Google Play instead. this will close down the Camera, as well as the Gallery itself. So you may download another camera app on Google Play. Regarding on Wi-Fi connections, try to use a widget when opening wi-fi. Instead of clicking in in the settings or on the upper panel, use widget, it will connect easily. Hands on review, given by sun last week. :)

I read the specs of this phone and thinking of getting it. It has less then 200 ppi. However For every pixel it has a 3 sub pixel. If compare with other phones with 220 or more ppi. Can we find any difference?

Turn the phone off. Then hold the volume up and down buttons at the same time and hold in the power button all at the same time. This will do a hard reset and make phone like new. Good luck :)

I don't know where you get your opinion, maybe those that experience problem doesn't really know how and for what the cellphone is for... For me it's a good phone for the price... knowing the specs of the phone before i bought it helps me contented on what this phone can do and limitations.... Suggestion, if you wanted much better function buy the expensive one... but if you only have just one that fits with your budget... go for this phone... IT'S GOOD.

Hello world! I bought this phone mainly for the very good features for its price (i would love it more with 1GB memory, but still it's ok) and the elegant design. I was a bit scared by what i saw written here by others but the phone is superb. It is fast, i have no problems like you write (response issues or restart by itself) the interface is very nice and easy and the exclusive "scribe" applications make it one of a kind. So, for this ammount of money (in Greece i bought it for 199 euros), the phone is great, i'm sure you will enjoy using it. It is the second Alcatel smartphone i'm using the latest years and i'm glad to see that Alcatel has become a great brand in the Android era. Keep up the good work guys!

Had this phone for 3 months now, what can I say?, well it's not worth the money. 1. Battery will just last for just + - 5 hours if you have the data on. 2. Get's really hot really quick when browsing using data and not wifi, which will eventually causes the unit to shutdown. 3. Built in music player (even dl app like winamp) would loose the playlist you created everytime you reboot the unit, the apps won't even be able to find your songs, you have to reinstall the player just to get the songs back on the list. 4. Good Rear Camera, The front camera is disgusting. 5. Gallery keeps on crashing even with the update, oh wait almost all built in application that came with the phone crashes randomly.

Bought this phone on September and All I can say I have ONE HELL OF EXPERIENCE on this phone. I had it replaced due to shutoff by itself issue randomly and other party on a call cant hear after couple of minutes. Shutting off happens whenever watching a video on a defaault gallery video player and BOOM! shutsdown like 20X in 2hrs.. I had it replaced after a week with the RED one and HELL YEAH.. WORST THAN EVER. It tripled the same issue I had previosuly. Equalizer dont work properly. You need to open the EQ first to enable it and when closing it BOOM again back to the flat default sound. All music player apps are all the same though it was just Google Play Music issue. had it reformat/reprogram and to no avail... am still enjoying this issue until now. I will be sending this off before new year and I hope they will replace it. I regret a lifetime buying this phone. I could have read the review if i wasnt excited. Too late.

Update on my above opinion: I think its normal for this phone to shutoff by itself. It has been shutting off whenever i dont know for about more than 5x already since i got it replaced a wk ago. Same thing, EQUALIZER turns off in d middle of listening and worst is it keeps doing every few seconds. I get rid of my customed EQ and used the preset due to d difference is a little noticeable when using my customized EQ. Its really frustrating that every day it ages on me it shows me issues that dares me to throw this phone. Update on Google Play Music still dont fix the EQ. Sluggish to death. Keyboard take seconds to bring up esp using the touchpal. Battery drains in less than 12hrs. The black one I had seems to be good in terms of the battery life but basically almost the same. I wish u can fix all of this in the next OTA update.

The phone is very slow and cant even handle even small games and it don't even start most of the the application. Restarts whenever it is loaded with games and the Cell broadcast message pops up on every start up which has to be manually shut down. Performance lag is too much which cant even be compared with the 3-4 K android phones. Except quality of fit and finish and OTA automatic firmware updates. Nothing to be happy in purchasing this phone. Again the firmware updates too don't have any impact on the performance

I got it replaced 2 days ago after a week when i bought it. It shutsdown on me like every video i watch online. Keyboard is too slow to show up. And the worst of all... the music equaluzer sucks. It turns off and on when it feels like it. It ruins ur mood. I uninstalled the google play music. Clear data and on it including music efx app and it worsen than ever. Sluggish to death. I regret buying it for my bday. I got the black one first and reolaced it with red one the worst is even more prominent on this red one.

This phone has weird and crazy problems, reboots on its own, when I'm the keyboard automatically dissapears and you to unlock your phone to let it appear again, sounds and ringtones are too low in sounds, signal bar goes down w/o reason, memory card cant be read by this device, w/ 512mb pretty laggy in apps, browser sites, cant be detected by my PC, battery is easily drained in a 1-day use, they say its dual-core but the phone needs to be rooted so you can use both cores, camera is slow and limited options on usage, front cam is too blurry and bearly see and image taken, To be honest its very disappointing that I bought this device, Hopefully if theres an updated to fix everything it would be better but should have choosen another brand to other than this. BEWARE CONSUMERS! READ THIS BEFORE YOU MAKE THE PURCHASE!!! There is a known incompatibility of Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy with Car Chargers. This may be a different model but check first! It would have been nearly perfect. I made some research before I purchased this unit and it can be considered to have the best bang for the buck until I found this issue. Since it was just recently released, none much information can be found about the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy. Even the Alcatel website doesn�t say anything about car charging for this unit. I have two different but standard Chargers in my Car: Elevo USB - Dual Ports and Pioneer Car Stereo USB Port. More than a dozen of other brands of PDAs and/or Cellphones have been charged and worked without issues (Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, LG, Sony-Ericsson, Apple, MyPhone, Cherry Mobile, etc.). I purchased the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy last May 25, 2013 from MemoExpress SM MegaMall. All else is working excellently except that it won�t charge while in the Car. It charges using the Wall Charger or when just connected to a Computer. In the Car, when connected using the specific USB cable (we have tried several similar USB cables including two provided by Alcatel), the said unit shows the USB icon which indicates that it is connected but the lightning icon which indicates charging is missing (or would just show for few seconds then disappear). The Battery information via Settings also indicates that it�s not charging (it says �Not charging�). This issue has been going on since the unit has been purchased. Due to time constraints because of my busy schedule and the excellent Battery life of this PDA (the Battery lasts for 3days or more without charging), I wasn't able to immediately check further and report the issue. It was only when I got stuck in the traffic jam during one rainy day and was in need of charging the PDA that I was able to fully check and determine that there is really a compatibility issue. I have my friends and family members who travel with me once in a while. We have used and tried many different PDAs and Cellphones in my Car, using either the Elevo Charger or Pioneer Car Stereo. All of those worked flawlessly and charged without issues. This includes units from Samsung, Nokia, Motorola, LG, Sony-Ericsson, Apple, MyPhone, Cherry Mobile, etc. This only verifies and confirms that my Car Chargers are working without issues. THUS, YOU CANNOT SAY THAT MY CHARGERS ARE DEFECTIVE. I was only able to bring the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy to where I bought it - MemoExpress Megamall Branch, two weeks after I bought it. Rodel/George of MemoExpress assisted me and helped verify/confirm the issue. Below are the things done at MemoExpress to isolate the issue: - Tested the unit using the Wall Charger - It's charging without issues - Tested the unit using another Car Charger with wires connected to a Power Adaptor - IT'S NOT CHARGING - Brought and connected several Alcatel units (different models) to my Car's USB Chargers for further testing: - Alcatel One touch Sapphire 2 - It's charging without issues - Alcatel One touch Glory 2 - It's charging without issues - Alcatel One touch Scribe Easy (Brand new - this is not the one I bought) - IT'S NOT CHARGING * These things concretely verified and confirmed the incompatibility of the Alcatel One touch Scribe Easy with Car Chargers. I was later on referred to Cherry and was instructed to bring the unit to their Technical Team in Robinsons Pioneer. I brought the unit to their Technical Team in Robinsons Pioneer last Saturday, June 15, 2013; below are the things they've done: - Brought and connected the disputed Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy to my Car's USB Chargers for testing: Confirmed and verified that IT'S NOT CHARGING - Opened the unit to verify if tampered - they confirmed that it hasn't been tampered in any way * They haven't got any other means to test further. They don�t have a good service unit for me to use (they have a non-PDA which has no use for me; I have a spare Cellphone and I require a PDA). They said they will send the unit to Alcatel for further evaluation. Yesterday, Thursday, June 20, 2013, I was told that the unit charges using another charger. What the!?!? They just disregarded the facts we have previously established, verified and confirmed? THE ALCATEL ONE TOUCH SCRIBE EASY IS NOT DEFECTIVE, MY CAR CHARGERS ARE NOT DEFECTIVE � IT�S AN INCOMPATIBILITY ISSUE OF THE PDA WITH CERTAIN CAR CHARGERS! I WASN�T TOLD THAT THIS PDA IS SO SPECIAL THAT I SHOULD GET AN ALCATEL CAR CHARGER TO MAKE IT CHARGE IN THE CAR! I ASKED FOR IT BEFORE I MADE THE PURCHASE UNTIL THE FIRST TIME I COMPLAINED BUT NOBODY KNEW AND THEY HAVEN�T GOT ANY ALCATEL ACCESSORIES AVAILABLE! FACTS: - More than a dozen of other brands of PDAs and/or Cellphones are charging fine using my Car Chargers - Other models of Alcatel One Touch PDAs are charging fine using my Car Chargers - Two different units of the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy are both NOT charging using my Car Chargers - All other features/functions of the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy are working fine - Mobile Devices should charge while in the Car using standard USB Chargers � IF NOT, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD BEFORE I MADE THE PURCHASE! IT CAN�T EVEN BE FOUND IN THE USER�S MANUAL! - Alcatel Car Charger is not readily available Metro Manila Malls or the cost would defeat the purpose of buying the inexpensive Alcatel One touch Scribe Easy Why didn�t anybody knew that the Alcatel One Touch Scribe Easy is very special and will need a special Car Charger? What made it worse? There�s no Alcatel Car Charger available! It�s already the end of the business day today, Friday, June 21, 2013� PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT I WAS MADE TO WAIT, MY EXPLANATIONS WERE IGNORED, NO RESOLUTION WAS GIVEN, NO GOOD/VALID EXPLANATIONS WERE SAID, THEIR FIX - I WAS PUSHED TO GET A MORE EXPENSIVE UNIT (NO OPTIONS WHATSOEVER WERE GIVEN). For my gallery, whenever I copy/move pictures from one folder to another, when I check my gallery it mixes everything up. I mean, it's not organize anymore. Yes its just normal its indicated in their manual as well. playing games, net, etc would really makes the unit a bit hotter because its processing. u gonna use with it in the long run. My sapphire 2 really works well & very satisfied as of todate except the battery life.
