Its the worst phone ever. It require some system time settings for youtube and I can't find It so youtube won't work now.when I whant download something on market it says starting download,and five seconds after error pops out on my screen.only thing that works now is only facebook and google.some videos can't be played.when I tried to fix it,it didn't have a driver,so my computer couldn't fix it. The device is excellent considering the investment, which is in my case 1 RSD (~0.1USD). For this price I can't complain. It has everything that every Android has to have in order to be certified by Google and the device is certified by Google. Market, GPS, WIFI, touchscreen, tons of apps...It won't satisfy an average Android user though, i use this device as my secondary work phone and for that purpose it's amazing, never dropped a call, agenda, calendar, mail, alarm sync with Google, has decent browser, ebanking works...However, for multimedia and fun it's not recommended, small screen somewhat unresponsive, does not allow watching movies or videos, it will play them but good luck with seeing anything. Texting is also a pain, small screen allows keyboard rotation, but resistive nature of the screen makes precise typing impossible. Phonebook, dialer and contact management is great, like in every Android phone. If you don't expect updates and all the great multimedia apps anf features and you need a phone for work with Android on board, this is a great phone + it\s cheap!

Hi, I am about to tell you what I think about my new Alcatel 890 android phone. I wasn't really looking for a new phone ,but this was on offer.I payed 59 euros for it ,in Athens ,Greece. After 10 days of using it ,I can tell you that in my opinion this phone is USABLE .By usable I mean that the phone is functioning in a reliable way without crashing.I much prefer using the USB cable to charge it with my pc, included charger is slow to charge the device. The 2MP camera is usable but very basic. Main issue is it can't zoom,but still it does produces acceptable images. Overall ,I am very pleased with this phone .For the price I really can't see any real competition.Regardless of it's price ,it is a basic Android phone ,that is easy to use .

Search for file manager,click on bluetooth, search the song,press long enough and go to share/bluetooth and get to transfer as long as you have your bluetooth on and the other persons' as well...get to the screen...pull down the upper viewer and see as it is being transferred to the other phone....cheers!!

I try to download it from the homepage from Alcatel, but during instalation I have to specify the type of the phone, and there are two possibilities 980 (instead of 890) and something else, I don't remember exactly, but no 890. Does anybody has the correct link for the software?

do not install too much apps inside this smartphone. you can check the rest of free storage, if too low you will get more "freeze" so install less apps or try to move moveable apps to your SDCard.

hi guys, i bought my 890 for 4400Rs this a nice mobile with lot of gud features for small amout. camera: nice video recording clarity. pics clarity is also gud. music clarity is also nice web surfing is happy with this mobile easy to download with gud speed. we can connect to system, but we cant do net making mobile as modem. we can just transfer our stuff between system and mobile. touch is not that much sensitive.it is difficut to type in qwerty key pad due to small icons in keypad. we cant move apps to memory card. overall this a good mobile i will give 7/10

im from philippine and im about to get this phone as for my daily driver. as for now im using Samsung Punch. dual standby with very good battery, but it lacks wifi and no threaded sms. this phone is what im looking for. very cheap and packed with features beacause of the Android OS. Im also using Tmos MT4G and if your a newbee to android you must watch the apps your going to install to this thing or else youll end up experiencing lags and hangs that will lead to a bad impressions bout the phone. dont push the phone, the phone is already great considering that its Android, dual sim/standby, wifi capable, threaded sms, nice battery life, cool looks. cant find this features on other phone giant manufacturers. FYI... my HTC Glacier only last approx 1 day with calls, web, sm etc... Thanks Alcatel for releasing this device. ^_^

Bought 5 aug 890d in greece Yes there are two options 890 and 890d Alcatel uses d for dual sim 890 costs in greece 109� and (surprise) 890d costs 95� (so you can buy 890d and use it as a single sim phone) It runs android v.2.2.2 So its froyo and not eclair It is a very nice phone (I use 2 sim phones) and costs only 95 � I personaly prefere resistive touchscreens (when browsing or with email I can point and shoot with everything which is more accurate than my fingers) It comes with a 2 giga SD card (this is not much but it is included) and has a very strong wifi Battery is ok, you dont have to charge it every day and i'm using wifi and make/recieve many calls. Depends of how much you have the screen on. Call volume and quality are very good (actually i'm using two providers and one has much better quality than the other, so it is a provider issue and not phone issue) So far i'm very satisfied, it covers exatly what I want from a phone) And it comes in nice colours too

I have this phone for more than a week and I must say that is great. It has soft and comfortable shell, bright display. It has resistive touchscreen, I didn't know the difference between this one and a capacitive but now I really prefer the resistive although it's cheaper to manufacture. The difference is that with the resistive I can use everything to press the touchscreen, fingernails, toothpicks for precise typing, and I guess in winter I can use this phone with my gloves on. The capacitive can't be operated like this. The apps run fast, angry birds go really smoothly. Browsing with wifi is fast, but turn off the GPRS, because lot of the apps are set to use internet automatically, and if you don't have a wifi hot spot nearby they will use the GPRS connection and will spend your money, so just erase the GPRS proxy server IP address and don't worry. At first it is difficult to press the touchscreen, but you need to calibrate your press sensitivity. After a week you'll get used to, and it won't be a problem... The battery life is ok.It lasts two days with lot of use. And a small thing to add, I don't now if it 's my mobile network provider fault, but the speaker has a low volume. It is not a very big problem, but in crowded area sometimes is difficult to hear the person on the other end. Final words for the mobile phone company that is selling this phone: Please, hire people that know the technology that you are selling. Educate them, give them android phones to use it at home. It's simply NOT ENOUGH to point and print this page from gsmarana.com! I think this purchase could be disappointing experience if I wasn't satisfied with it. this phone is purchased for 30 euros
