I got 11 Pro now but i have to say the Xs is still ok, just update with ios 13.1 and you will not notice the difference from 11 Pro most of the time. Faceid is faster and works in a wider area on 11 Pro, battery is better also but for the important things Xs is still an awesome phone.

I just received the iOS 13.1 Update about 1:00 P.M. Local. Download and installation only took 30 minutes. The Modem Firmware and Carrier data has been changed.

I have the iOS 13.0 Update in my Xs and it does seem a bit quicker, but has a few bugs. The Face Recognition is quicker now. The Dark Mode looks good on most of my apps. I will continue to evaluate further and bring my findings here.

Why 64gb model of this phone even exists? It costs 870 euros here,what kind of joke is to charge such an absurd price for non expandable 64gb storage? Oneplus 7 256gb costs just 500 euros,also a top end smartphone with double the ram of xs. S10e at same price point 500 euros offers 128gb+sd card slot. It's not just Samsung, it's any Android phone using custom UI. After some long time of use, the hardware will slow down because of the custom skin. Compare them to phones with Pixel-like stock UI as you would always find in any Android One devices, and the difference is like day and night!

The main difference is in the screen quality, the XR has a bigger screen but it's LCD, while the smaller XS screen is OLED (much nicer, more expensive). Additonnaly, the XR is slightly thicker and heavier than the XS. Go with whichever you can afford, the XR is a decent phone, but the XS is a better device.

Apple philosophy: let's pack all the best components that we can find into a single phone and let's give it a 2650mAh battery, so you can only actually use the phone while it's charging. sounds great right? this has been the problem with that company all along. this phone (like their every other phone) is basically living on a charger. after a year or so, the batter life will almost halve and it'll become even more annoying. definitely not worth the money.

All this time, you keep looking at iPad Pro abs iPhone. I’m sure you are so interested that you even accused me of being a fake Galaxy Note user since 2011. Security was one factor why i switched other than iPad Pro is the greatest drawing tablet. You need to stop b*tching how your budget gadgets are better. You get what you pay for. The only way you can use a lost iPhone is if it’s unlocked and not yet registered to Apple... just like someone left it like that when I was at a cafe. I waited for the owner to come back and told him off. The e-SIM makes it harder as well, if your carrier supports it. Plus you can track Apple Bluetooth accessories with Apples network of Apple products everywhere. You can trace that AirPod or Apple Watch you lost. The Bluetooth connection of other iPhones is used whenever you use Find My iPhone. I’m tired of micrSD cards falling after some time. I don’t mind the Sandboxed filing system of iPhones and iPads.

You may claim 2 days, but we know how to get that. Try consuming 4GB on LTE on one charge. You still don’t get it. You need to stop comparing iPad Pro with your laptop. I have a windows laptop to do computational architecture. No one brought up about laptops on an iPhone XS forum except you. You find it expensive, get a budget phone. I’m happy I have a 512 GB capacity phone to shoot 4K 60 FPS video. I can do even essential editing. A laptop with 940m video graphics can’t edit 4K. An iPhone or an iPad Pro can, while I’m even commuting. I can draw with the iPad Pro, and make calls paired with the iPhone. I’m enjoying the sheer accumulated 12 hours of screen on time paired with the smart battery case with the iPhone. No other system can do that without much bulk. Connected to LTE, GPS on and connected to two Bluetooth devices. I’m so happy I switched.

The Apple smart battery case is PHENOMENAL! Instead of just 10+ hours with heavy phone use, the battery case more than doubles the usage time! That’s an extra 10 to 12 hours of usage on top of what the internal battery offers. My internal battery only starts draining at around 6PM. It basically switches to the external battery case, while not transferring to the full internal battery.

Wow, can’t think of anything? I actually can make and answer calls with the iPad Pro because it has continuity with the iPhone. Your low-cost Huawei phone can’t do 24 hours - I checked. Not 24 hours, but up to 10 good hours of continuous use for the iPad Pro without having to plug in. I can even use the hotspot function with the iPad Pro when I need to since it’s the cellular version. I can certainly walk around the classroom using my iPad Pro mirrored to the Apple TV. I don’t need to prop it up on a table to work. I have earned more money with my iPad Pro for commissioned work. The iPhone XS compliments it with AirDrop being more useful than I can admit before. It’s awesome to instantaneously transfer files wirelessly so fast, with such ease. And oh, I can edit 60fps 4K video with the iPhone XS with Lumafusion (oh yes!). And your laptop can’t even do that since it has a 940m graphics card.

So what? I have an iPad Pro that cost the same retail price as the iPhone XS, and I use them daily. My laptop use is now at home, using it to do some 3D construction. Different devices for different uses, and for different situations. Do you make calls while walking using a laptop? Can you put your laptop in your pocket? Can it last 24 hours of use unplugged? Hahaha, because I can say I don’t find the S Pen as good as before, after experiencing something even better, ie: the Apple Pencil. I do still have the Note8, and I find no significant features that the S Pen on the Note9, nor anything on the Note10’s S Pen for drawing purposes. Nothing beats Procreate app for drawing, which does not exist on Android.

Have you closed all your apps? I've found if I keep my apps open it can drain my battery, also check on your settings and go on to battery, you can see what is using the most percentage of your battery. Also keeping your airdrop on can use up a lot of your battery.

Tell us more. I get it. I’ve used Galaxy Note series for 8 years, until my Note8’s sensors stopped working. iPhone XS is a wonder, especially paired with the Apple smart battery case. More than 24 hours of use with 8 hours of screen on time. No S Pen, but nothing beats drawing tasks than iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil.

The thing is, even if it just has 4GB of RAM it still runs smoothly because of their proprietary Bionic chip. Apple develops their own OS and manufacture their own bionic chip. iOS is just so efficient. Reason why Android phones require more RAM is because of the OS itself.

Lots of settings and easy to navigate. The display is sharp and true in color.The resolution to me is not noticeably less than my S9. It is a very crisp looking screen display. The touch sensitivity is excellent. This phone is very reliable, hardly any lag, quite smooth response. As far as the charging time with the supplied adapter, it really is not that much longer than my S-9 Charger. The great standby time for me only yields me to charge once a day and usually with 80% battery life left. I wish that a display of time elapsed since last charge would be a good addition to the battery settings. I wish it had Dolby Atmos (or Audio) for music and other multimedia. The audio on the supplied ear pods is excellent. The speakerphone and ringers (and alerts) are louder than my previous phones. The call audio is excellent as well I did opt to disable the noise cancelling setting. I also wish Apple would incorporate a Micro SD Card option. The camera is excellent. I wish that there were lower resolution settings for photos. It seems I can only shoot photos on the highest resolution only. I would recommend the Xs to my friends, but when it is on sale! The price is hefty but some providers are offering a discount if you port in. If you have an X, you need not upgrade unless you are wealthy. I do suggest also going through the IOS 12.3 Manual online or in Books. I am on the 12.3.1 iOS update from 5/24/2019. The 12.3.1 took about two hours to install on my Xs. I do notice some animation and UI changes since the update.

Yes I do agree I was using iPhone for quite a long time switched to S10 Plus there is no Match Camera , Battery but yes there is a major difference in Built quality I have seen some videos regarding durability test of S10 plus vs iPhone XMax , hammer test and falling test Max wins in those test , but if some one have a tough working environment then he or she go for rugged phones rather then use Samsung or Apple , and we usually use such expensive phone with quite a lot care so I think such hammer tests are just stupidity

I would have agreed with you totally a year ago. Now with the XS, with OLED screen, stereo audio recording, unlimited 4k recording, good camera (and camera software), 512 GB option that isn't special order, 5.8" size is so much better to handle, and better integration with my iPad Pro. As I have stated, I am a Galaxy Note user since 2011, and I'm still keeping my Note8 for Android functions. I'm tired of the screen becoming bigger whereby the first Note was actually just 5.3". Now that iPhones are more than 5.5" with Samsung OLED screens, with more screen to body ratio, I can't complain so much. Pixel counting is not a viable argument since NO ONE can see the jagged pixels. No one. If you claim to see the difference, you must have a super sight. And yes, I can draw with a third-party Bluetooth styl;us with pressure-input. Trying out iOS since July, and it’s not a bad thing. The fact is, I use can use both iOS and Android now, and I have benefits of both worlds.

And I finally got the 512 GB iPhone XS. Coming from 8 years of solid Android Galaxy Note use, the iPhone are now as good as Android. I'm just after the Procreate Pocket app for drawing with a third party pen. Now it doesn't matter to get the Galaxy Note because any smartphone can be paired with a digitizer pen. Plus I got the 12.9 iPad Pro 2018 for serious drawing. And wow, the XS' screen size is practically even larger than the first 4 Galaxy Note phones.

I'm saying that the battery lasts longer for an android so your spending more money for an iPhone with a battery that will last you 3 years at most. From a support perspective, the android lasts you 2 years whereas the iPhone lasts 6 years. Nobody wants to use a device with a 4 years outdated OS. And Apple doesn't use any different batteries than any other manufacturer. If you need it, you can pay € 50 after 3 years and use it for another 3 years. But that is the same case with all the android manufacturers.

To be honest apple better than android ×10. Android open source, apple no Apple has quality material ,android full of trash. Apple have better optimisation than android, android lags, crash over time non responsive with multitasking. More OS updates than android (2yrs maximum). iPhone better resale value than android I am an Android user but to be honest android phones don't worth the price tag for most , my brother use apple products but it runs faster than my android phones. The s10 plus and the mate 20 pro are faster. The s10 plus has the best screen ever, the xs cannot support 1440 videos and the camera is not as good as the s10 plus. And dont talk to be about the non existent battery life. As I said previously apple are behind now, iPhone 11 "might" just get wireless power share.

It's quite the opposite actually, Apple is ahead of every Android smartphone with a two years ahead unbeatable chipset ( A12 bionic) better and faster updates, better software optimizations and better quality with stereo speakers, amazing display and high quality materials and I haven't found a single Android smartphone that can beat the iPhone xs or even the XR for that matter in terms of performance and fluidity.

I am on the 12.1.4 IOS update from 2/7/2019. So far I am delighted with my phone. Lots of settings and easy to navigate. The display is sharp and true in color.The resolution to me is not noticeably less than my S9. It is a very crisp looking screen display. The touch sensitivity is excellent. This phone is very reliable, hardly any lag, quite smooth response. As far as the charging time with the supplied adapter, it really is not that much longer than my S-9 Charger. The great standby time for me only yields me to charge once a day and usually with 80% battery life left. I wish that a display of time elapsed since last charge would be a good addition to the battery settings. I wish it had Dolby Atmos for music and other multimedia. The audio on the supplied ear pods is excellent. The speakerphone and ringers (and alerts) are louder than my previous phones. The call audio is excellent as well I did opt to disable the noise cancelling setting. I also wish Apple would incorporate a Micro SD Card option. The camera is excellent. I wish that there were lower resolution settings for photos. It seems I can only shoot photos on the highest resolution only. I would recommend the Xs to my friends, but when it is on sale! The price is hefty but some providers are offering a discount if you port in. If you have an X, you need not upgrade unless you are wealthy. I do suggest also going through the IOS 12.X.X Manual online or in Books.

right now iOS does not have a system wide dark theme. but it is rumored that apple will implement dark theme in next release of ios 13 this year. no you cannot set mp3 as ringtome without itunes. with itunes yes you can set but then also its not that straight forward.

Because battery life has nothing to do with price, as a 5000 mAh cell costs like 4$ to produce and a 3000mAh cell costs 3$. The problem is that if you put a bigger battery in it, the phone gets thicker and heavier, and no one wants a brick. Moreover, the battery life of my iPhone 7 is good enough to last a day, and the Xs is ubstantially better so it should be no problem. So-called „power users“ (or what I call them „phone-addicts“) will buy the Xs Max anyway because it has a much bigger screen, but that one also has much better battery life.

So I had a brand new iPhone X that I never got around to use, and now I gave it to a pretty girl I know. Since this X is new and has no battery degradation its nice to compare it to the Xs, and both these has 256GB so assume the storage is working very similar too. it really looks like her X has better battery than my Xs, she's an avid mobile gamer and coming from a Samsung its needless to say that the X has many times the gaming performance, but surprising that the X seem to extend the battery life over the Xs. In real life usage like this the X is still the 4th fastest phone in the world, beaten only by Xs, XsMax an Xr, we knew that already, but that the X has all this performance at a lower battery drain isn't as well known. CPU/GPU power can go both ways on the battery, like the iPhone 5s that was the first 64bit and at its time by far the fastest CPU, it did it on cost of the battery, while SE had twice as much raw speed and never heated and barely drained the battery at all compared to 5s. I think the newest Apple chipset is a half-good middle model, I repeat my advice to buy used X over Xr and maybe even over Xs if money is a big issue, competition is 18 months behind so X will remain the 4th fastest phone on the market. And soon its time to start thinking of iPhone 11 anyway, Apples speed advantage will grow to 24 months ahead of the competition.

Why would you compare the iPhones using GFXBench vs the Androids on GFXBench? iOS GFXBench uses Metal, a low level API while GFXBench for Android uses OpenGL. Obviously Metal will win no contest, that is an unfair comparison. Far better to use a Vulkan vs Metal benchmark like 3DMark, in which case the Android phones tend to leave Apple in the dust

I upgraded to the XS from the 6S Plus and am extremely disappointed. I would go back to my old phone if it had more storage. When I watch videos in landscape mode, it’s very difficult to bring up the play/pause UI. No matter how many times I tap the screen, nothing happens. I have to flip the phone to portrait, tap the screen to pull up the UI, and then flip it back to landscape if I want to resume watching the video. Face ID is one of the most frustrating features. I would trade it for Touch ID in a heartbeat. It works intermittently and fails more times than not. About 1 out of 10 phone calls will be lost. I’ll be on the phone and then all of a sudden the call will end. I have pinpointed my phone as the problem as I’ve read similar feedback from other users. The camera is very disappointing in the dark. The pictures turn out very blurry. It also seems a strange filter is placed on all my photos. Lastly, the most basic tasks have become cumbersome to complete. This phone isn’t fun to use but rather just leaves me frustrated. I would highly discourage anyone from buying this phone

I have iPhone Xs for over a month with aggressive use :- -The Battery is better than the previous model I have used for a year (iPhone 7 ) I only charge it while I am sleeping using the wireless charger. - The camera is fantastic and the beauty mode in selfie is not weird as I found on Samsung or Huawei. - The phone is really fast comparing with other old models. it need fast internet connection to be as productive as you want to be.

This is the first iPhone ive ever bought, performance is great and UI is nice and fluid. But I do not see the appeal. I mean seriously it does not even have a manageable file system. Android is much more flexible, especially with rooted devices. IDC if you’re a billionaire, if anyone buys this phone they are completely ignorant to the better android phones out there. This phone is just not worth the price! Buy a Huawei Mate 20 pro, google pixel 3 or samsung s9/note 9 please. Anyone considering buying this phone, dont! It will dissapoint you. Apple doesnt even have the decency to include a fast charger on a $1000 phone. Once again idc if you can “afford” it, buy a flagship android instead, you’ll be amazed by the extra features!

Since I can afford to have them all, and you cannot, I can safely say that windows and android are bad. And don't get me started on windows, I'm got so many certifications in Microsoft products that theres nothing you can say about them that I don't know much better than you, seen from a professional users point of view, not updating ATI drivers or whatever it is you are using windows for. I know how to use it but I don't need it at home, theres Debian and MacOS for that, not that I expect you to understand why since you never used any of them. Just use them all, like some of us did, your talk is cheap and our real worldexperience is priceless. Dont hate on the one system that you didn't use and don't expect me to not buy apple products just because some of you cannot afford them, I think they are great value for the money and trees no doubt that iPhones with their excellent second hand value are cheapest to own, so the price is low if anything, its just to high entry point for some people but once you entered you're actually saving money on phones. The problem here has been that when we buy new Apple the old ones are still so good that we don't sell them, so we ended up with too many iphones and MacBooks/Macs, but at least all are being used. Cant say the same for Android and windows devices we have, dust collectors only, and even for that they aren't very impressive.

Core i9 laptop? What will i use it for? I have need whatsoever for such a device, and i rather spend 2200 on a new MBP (MacBook pro) than even 1000 for a core i9 winDowns laptop with weak display and useless OS. And i still dont need new MBP because my 2 old MBP are still great, apple products dont get outdated so easily. Like it or not, Xs is worth the price. But we get it, you dream of a midlevel gaming laptop but cant afford it, so you cant afford Xs either, then why should your opinion matter? Just try to realize that your needs and preferences dont apply to others, you can tell a ferrari buyer that he should get a house instead but he probably got two houses already. Yes its a light MC but premium brand, with disk brake even, its a delight to use and capable of violating most speed limits, do you really recommend we shouldnt be driving it? Then show us. If you just go out and take various photos in various conditions the Xs is clearly the best. Any samsung or the P20 Pro will give a few good ones and lots of failed ones, the P20 Pro will shine only on long range zoom photos, for everything else you need to turn off Auto and experiment a lot to get acceptable quality. I have to say the P20 Pro is the poorest most overpriced phone i have used, my old iphone SE is both faster and takes better photos overall, and most important with no hazzle, it just works - which the P20 Pro didnt.

I have X and XS, both are 256GB, for daily use theres mo difference. You can find apps that makes a small difference, where you notice the performance advantage of Xs but its mostly in benchmarks, ie synthetic performance, and o ly because the score says so. Keep in mind that even experienced reviewers believed the huawei P20 Pro to be superfast, the fake benchmark scores had everyone fooled, except one person in the whole world who noticed it wasnt as fast as the benchmarks said. For me the biggest advantage of Xs is the portrait mode aperture, and the possibility of eSim for dual sim (dont need but its nice to know i have the option). Everything else i never notice, i bought the Xs coz i can, not coz i needed it.

I have having the iPhone XS since 2 weeks. I was earlier using 6s and till now I am enjoying it. I was more inclined to buy myself a Oneplus 6T due to price factor, but somehow in the last moment I ordered a XS. As far as my 3 years experience with 6S goes, I did not have any problems with it except for the battery. I got it changed and my phone was as good as new. No issues at all. Coming back to XS. Positives - Looks premium and beautiful. - Easy to hold for small hands. Recommended to buy a case though. - Fast - Camera is very good, compared to 6S. I did not have any chance to compare this against any other phones except my old LG G4 and HTC One M7. - Battery as per my usage - Photos, Whatsapp, Viber, Phone Call, Youtube and some other stuff last for 1.5 to 2.5 days depending on the day to day usage. But I am very happy with it. - Charging time - never checked, but 10 to 100 % is approximately in 2 hours. - Screen is Brilliant. (With True Tone On and with True Tone Off) - FaceID - works like a charm. - Call Quality - Very Good - iOS Negatives - Notch - may be it is obtrusive for some, but it is not obstructing me. Got used to it. - Steel frame - prone to scuffs and scratch also in the case. Specially the Silver version. - Glass - if breaks, the repair cost is very high. - The most important - very pricey If you are coming from 6s and would not mind spending more, then XS is really good. Whatever the reviews you read, it is only after holding the phone and using it, can you experience, the Quality of iPhone. There are other phones in the market which are very good and are very much affordable and with technology more advanced than iPhone. But it is an iPhone. As Apple always says - "The Best Ever iPhone".

Most people compare SD to A chip. They never feel each platform phones. They think knowing specs is enough. They think benchmark scores will speak everything. So they equate specs to cost. CPU / GPU becomes so fast, the split seconds no longer matters. But I am here to say why iPhones still superior to any Androids phones and worth its cost. iPhone have superior touch algorithm compared to Android. Do not believe me? Here are the test you can do: 1. Thumb Press on both phones. (Instead of the tip of your thumb or fingers) On Android, it will stupidly respond to that unintended touch. iPhone will intelligently respond, knowing you are picking it up. 2. The 2 finger test. Hold both phones with one hand, with the thumb holding the screen of the device. On iPhone, you can still use the other hand to navigate and control the phone. On the dumb android, the touch is rejected. This is why iPad excels in touch vs android tablets. 3. Multi-touch gestures. On Windows, you can see why NO body like touch pads, cause it junk. Only Macs and iPhone's touch gestures are perfected. iPhone also support smooth transition, the UI is smooth and fast, even with an aged processor. All these, even the most powerful core i7 will not be able to improve Android user's experience.

The beauty of iPhone's battery life. Its steady, its reliable, no matter what you load on it. No matter the condition. Connect to Carplay Wireless, add a Apple Watch, and you still have almost the same battery life you take out of the box. Note 9 for example, it will be crippled once you load stuff on it. Add a galaxy watch, the battery drains more.. Add Android Auto, it can't even maintain full charge.. And if you get tons of apps, it drains yet even more! Its an uncontrollable beast.. yes a beast of a phone.. but uncontrollable drain. You have to spend time with it EVERY single day.. to TAME that beast. The same goes for other android phones, with some exceptions like China Phones, which they add their own chains, they purposely KILL process to maintain the battery.. but end up with unreliable services, non received notification and junk response. Well, if you look at it you get flagship specs for 1/3 of the price of a flagship iPhone at lowest GB 1/4 - if you decide to compare to more higher GB iPhones. SD 845 compared to A12. is just as fast, if not delays in speed to 1-2 seconds. but who really willing to pay 1.5k for 1-2 performance difference, also the 8GB Ram is also nice to handle more applications for a smoother user experience. OS , basically depends on the user as the eco-system Camera - goes to apple but the F1's still has a beautiful camera and video quality. Build goes to apple for having a premium feel but have fun paying the repair fee's for a front (250$) or back glass repair (500$)

The iPhone XS doesn’t have worse specs either compared to the competition, 4 GB RAM is on par with S9/Pixel 3, A12 Bionic is better than SD845, the battery is smaller but that is because of how thin it is and how small the bezels are, because in a small device, you can’t fit a huge battery, only if you make it as thicc as the Xperia Compacts. And a battery test by phonebuff shows that the Note9 for example lasts longer than the Xs Max, and of course it does, the battery of the Note9 is just massive and for that, the Note9 is relatively thick. That, however, doesn‘t change the fact that the battery of Xs Max is still decent and probably enough for most people. It is not just „worse“, it is a tradeoff. Not the longest battery life, but a thinner-than-average chassis. Some like that tradeoff, others don‘t, you have to decide by yourself what is more important to you. So what is your point?

The XS also can last 2 days, it's all depending on how you use it. How about showing me a video which states that the Pocophone lasts twice as long? The only comparison I've seen between those two is the standardized GSMArena battery test, and according to that, the XS has a rating of 72h and the rating of the F1 is 94h, which is clearly not "twice" as long. -_-

Whenever I look at iPhone X and recent iPhone siblings, I wonder people are so obsessed by notch that they don't notice that iPhones do not have any chin as such. While those who are trying to immitate notch, are not able to get rid of chin. Most of Android phone who have copied notch are unable to make 'no chin'. You are wrong, get informed right, Samsung manufactures only Pentile OLED, there was only a narrow time around 2012 when they made OLED with RGB. Other OLED manufacturers make only Pentile too, you cannot find non-Pentile in these days which is very bad, Pentile needs a higher resolution in order to look smooth on rendering, eliminate jagged lines.

1. PenTile hasn‘t been used for a few generations of smartphones now 2. the iPhone XS has a much smaller screen, and the pixel density is relatively similar. By the way, Note9 is locked from stock to 1080p, you have to go to settings first to enable 1440p. And even then, you won‘t see any difference. If you looked at the 1080p downscaled Screen of the Samsung and the 1125p-ish Screen of the iPhone and said „the Samsung is sharper“, you are just an utter fanboy 3. there is almost no difference in dynamic range between the two displays. The only difference is calibration: iPhone XS screen is calibrated to look natural, Note9 screen is calibrated to over-saturate colors compared to reality. Yes I did hear about all the current "gates" issues and it is just disgusting. The hardware can only be as good as a good software. There are several realities being made now: 1. People who remain loyal/familiar with a specific OS tend to stay with what they have. 2. iOS is becoming a more open platform whilst Google-Android is slowly becoming/copying iOS and the OS is slowly being locked down. 3. People are no longer upgrading their phones on a yearly basis and the top phone makers brand (iPhones in particular) are now being accused of just incremental upgrades in terms of hardware and software. 4. I have checked at Best Buy iPhone XS vs Samsung Note 9 and definitely Samsung has better screen than iPhone XS, despite it is made by Samsung, too. It is due to the pentile OLED which needs higher resolution to make it sharp like common LCD. Samsung Note has higher resolution and better colors. Only when you keep them side by side you can see. In fact iPhone XS with true tone has pink whites and green bluish whites without and any LCD IPS looks better exepting the backs. Most of time you will read web pages on white background so AMOLED is useless on smart phones and tablets.

Well the Note 9 is pretty much the same as the S9+, just with a pen. If you are price conscious, the S9+ is probably pretty great if you can get it under € 600, but it also heavily depends on which operating system you use. If you are happy with the one you use right now (be it Android or iOS), then stay with that, if not, jump to the other side and try it. I was always very happy with iOS (that is the one used on iPhones) because I'm a perfectionist and also because you still get the newest updates even after 5 years, whereas on android, you only get 2 years on the most expensive models, and cheaper ones get even less.

Apple had problems with base frequency of the chip, because, tested 2.7Ghz frequency was way too inefficient for a 7nm chip, so they decided to lower the frequency of the CPU to maintain the battery efficiency, while the performance was harmed a bit, but yet faster than A11 Bionic.

People at Apple think for many things related to the iPhone. If they won't, iPhones would have been at least 8 or 9mm thick (Note9 is 8.8). iPhone Xs/ Xs Max are 7.7mm thick both and have average size batteries for their screen size, but are the fastest around with single-core and multi-core scores unmatched by any other phone. Xs Max should have an endurance rating of about 86h with a battery 22% smaller than Note9 but with a superior CPU compared to SD845 or E8910.

The so-called chargegate is indeed a software-related issue and has nothing to be with the charging cable, brick or lightning port. Apple made some changes as belong to encryption in iOS 12 and it might be the defective software related to it that cause this malfunction. They surely will fix this in the next update

This iPhone is the one I'm eyeing because it's the smallest of the three and I might need that extra gig of RAM compared to the XR in the longer run. But the A12's 15% CPU gain from its predecessor is the smallest in recent memory. Unless you still have a 5s/6/6s/SE, you really wouldn't feel any difference in performance. I think even having a 7, the difference would still feel negligible. Apple really nailed SoC with the A9 chip. Apple has now stretched necessary upgrade cycles from 2 to 4.

Picked up an XS last Saturday coming off a Nokia 920. Screen is great, very bright and sharp. Video playback is near perfect. Body size is just right. The Plus/max phones are just a bit too wide and tablet-like for me. The XS is the same width as my 920 with a body about half an inch taller with a screen about an inch and a half taller. Comparing the screen to my mom's 8 Plus they are very comparable in clarity, color, and brightness. The XS's AMOLED might have a slight edge but there will be burn in sooner or later... suffered that fate with my Nokia 808. I'd rather it have an LCD for longevity if it were the quality of the 8 Plus's screen. Lack of home button is an improvement, can't stand it on my mom's phone. Notch isn't distracting IMO, adds a little style for good or bad depending on your taste. Without it, the phone would look a little plain. iOS 12 is snappy, not much to complain about. Battery life is acceptable but not great. The 920 does have some features that I miss but the XS kills it overall of course. I miss the 3.5mm jack most of all. Haven't tested out the camera much but a couple shots turned out nice. Overall, the XS won't disappoint but it's not cheap. With the higher price comes a very cohesive package in terms of hardware and software, design and function. Not perfect but no phone is.

Android are for long term investment too. I got a Samsung S4 Active from 5 years ago, it is still working today. Yes, it is being stuck at Android 5.1.1, but it never is unsupported, all of it's functionality including NFC is still working, OTG, Bluetooth, Micro SD card, apps also can be upgrade without any issue. It also got the removable battery, I got replace it with an OEM brand battery and it is working like new. This one is also a rare breed where it spot a LCD rather than AMOLED, which doesn't has the AMOLED phosphor short lifetime degrade issue. It only loose on black level, but everything on it is fantastic, look as good as first time bought it. I give it to my family member. This is one of the very first phone to support the 4G network in my country. Longevity you say for only iPhone? Don't make me started again.

It's barely an iterative upgrade from the X, however if you've got an older model and money to burn, I think it's worth it. iPhones are a long-term investment. They have better longevity and regular updates compared to a lot of android phones that become unsupported after a few years.

Hi ! Coming from a 2013 Lumia 1520 :D this year I chose to upgrade andature " , for me it's still a two moves process , you might feel differently . I paid the my choice was the iPhone Xs. You might wonder why I chose this over the Xs Max :| well for me it was simple : ergonomics , fooling around with a 7 Plus for a couple of months I realised that the phone is too big for me , and I was already sick of using my phone with two hands when the task can be easily be conducted with one , you might say " there is a reachability feXs almost 1200 € , and I know that I could have found a X for 250 € less ( from shady dealers ) or 150 € ( from a more trusty seller ) but for me the following updates were worth the price : Better LTE and Wifi , better Speaker , more luminous and better calibrated screen , a faster processor , in my opinion an improved cameras , in the long run possibly a year more in updates , improved performance ( Processor and RAM ) , faster Face ID , slightly but better battery life , the gorilla Glass 6 and the IP68 rating. The screen size difference is main reason why the max is more of a better choice. If don't like big screen people should go for the original iPhone x. Much lower price and apple 5 year software support so no problem. Don't make sense to spend so much more for the xs.

My iPhone xs gets through less than half a day on medium usage and I have to charge it 2 or 3 times a day. I'm so disappointed

Guys, in my own humble opinion, I don't think people here should be complaining about their pricing specially those people who haven't experienced using an apple phone for quite some time. iPhones are first class and they're not forcing you to buy their product.The quality is superb though they can do better on their battery life. The RAM is fine since their chipset have the ability to compress tasks for like 300mbps up to 10mbps (do some research) so multitasking is not a problem. Camera is fantastic coz what you see is what you get.

It's worth noting that the iPhone 9 probably isn't the iPhone XI. The latter is expected to be the super-premium successor to the iPhone X, while the iPhone 9 might be more of a sequel to the iPhone 8. do not refer to the diagonal length. Actual surface area is around 84.4 square cm, just a bit more than 5.5" iPhone 8 Plus. Remember the latter had a GSMArena proprietary battery test rating of around 81 hours on a 10nm die chip and around 2600mAh battery. A 7nm die size chip with similar battery and efficient OLED screen should rate for a few hours more. The actual A12 Bionic is a lot more powerful and efficient than last gen A11 Bionic or SD845. Haters gonna hate! but Apple do things right, except for the price!

Iphone is way overpriced compared to huawei/nokia/others... whose midrange sets often offer better features than even the expensive iphone. Regarding security updates: I'd rather buy a 400 euro android every 2 years than a 1000+ iphone every 5 years. Chance is high the device breaks or gets stolen/lost in a 5 year period. So the cost doesnt justify the longer OS security updates. Better spend the extra money on something more worthwhile rather than in apples "research and development", Iphone used to be ahead of android phones, But its gotten caught up with. Anyone who now still buys iphone is just a fanboy/noob

For all those who complain nothing much has changed in iphones except price, here's my take. I'm a mobile app developer who develops for both ios and Android. 1) Apple is ahead of Qualcomm or Android phone chip-makers by 2 years (be it in Neural Engine or Face Recognition). When Apple released 64 bit chip iphones (A7), many Android phones OEMs were still releasing phones with 32 bit SOCs. Apple was clearly ahead of Android by one year. 2) Regarding specs, Iphone 7+ camera which has 12MP is different from iphone 8+ camera with same 12MP, all because of A11 bionic chip and same is the case with A12 bionic chip. (Compare and see differences). 3) Beauty of iphone is it's os..iOS. ios is optimized heavily for it's hardware. When an App goes to background, ios compresses app (say it occupies 300MB in foreground) by so much and it can compress even to 10MB, if it is required. On the other hand Android can't compress an 300MB occupying app to 10MB . Since ios is close sourced we can't know how Apple does it but it could be able to do it as iphones have powerful chips. To overcome this problem, Android phones usually have higher RAMs when compared to iphones. 4) Android phones won't get updates more than 2 years (plus one year security updates for Android one and pixel phones). But there's no such problem for iphones. So, iphone price includes cost of ios too. 5) Apple invests heavily in research. So, cost of an iphone includes amount it spends on research. Same goes with Android OEMs like Samsung for higher end phones where it uses its own custom chips. Overall, Apple makes huge profits from iphones but IMO professionals and devs can invest such huge amount on iphones but there exists some fellas who do buy iphones just to showoff. In any case, i have given my opinion on technicalities and how an iphone is better than an Android phone. PS. Not an isheep or Apple fan boy. Apple won't pay me anything for this. I hate cults of all kinds.

..After one long year of development and zero hardware design change??? I believe product designers got fired.. Small brands from China(!) are capable to bring more innovation within few months but huge giant from USA cannot..what a shame Apple. What I noticed from keynote they focused on gaming - I had no idea the phone is to play games..hmmmm.. But yes , I agree they brought some improvements but in the age when every single device from (again) China brings another big innovation Apple stays stubborn and introduce a tad improved device. At least they release Xr which is a step forward. Congrats!!!

Its great but no need to upgrade from iPhone X, with iOS 12 upgrade people will not be able to tell if they are holding an X or an Xs. It seems like it was wise to discontinue the X, or else people would just buy that instead of Xs to save 100 dollars. The Xr is the new iPhone 5c, it comes in too many cheap looking colors and makes people want to shell out for the far more classy looking Xs. However this time the "new 5c" will be very successful and the Xr will eat into Xs sales.
