Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL - User Reviews

  • We are thinking in the same way but you can add the round corners too.

  • I fully agree with everything you said

  • It supports a micro-SD card. I have a 256 GB micro-SD card in mine.

  • I have been on the lookout for the second edition of this phone. I am refusing to buy any of the newer phones in this size category because none of them actually matches this phone in design. I am briefly going to touch on the aspects of the phone that are important to me. 1. The size: 6.8". This is a true 6.8" phone. You are not shortchanged in any way. There is no notch, no holes, no tear-drop... none of such nonsense which eats away from the screen real estate. You get all of the 6.8" display as your screen for your immersive viewing pleasure. Even though I love on-screen soft buttons, the back and recent apps buttons are capacitive buttons on the bottom bezel of the phone, leaving you all of the 6.8" screen for content consumption or for creativity. No compromises at all. 2. The bezels. While bezel-less phones are the current trend, I'm actually in love with the bezels of this phone. The top bezel houses the front-facing camera, the LED notification light, and the earpiece. The bottom bezel holds the home button and the two capacitive buttons for the back-action and for your recent apps. This is a very sensible, mature, and traditional design, 3. The 16:9 aspect ratio. A huge factor in my reluctance to buy any of the newer competitors to this phone (such as the Huawei Make 20 X and the Honor Note 8) is the departure in their design from the 16:9 aspect ratio. These days smartphones are narrower. They are designed with 18:9, 18.5:9; 18.7:9, 19:9; and 19.5:9 aspects ratios. Meanwhile, most videos are shot in 16:9 aspect ratio. The implication is that you don't really take advantage of the full screen when you watch a 16:9 aspect ration video on those narrow phones. They tell you that the reason for making the phones narrow is to enhance one-handed use of the phone, but once a phone comes with a screen that's 6.5" or bigger, it is obviously a device intended for two-hand use. TVs and computer screens are still being built with a 16:9 aspect ratio. 4. Volume: This phone is loud when the volume is at the maximum setting. I love it. I will not mind it if the second edition version of the phone comes with louder speakers, but it is hard to find a phone that beats this phone in the quality and loudness of its stereo speakers. 5. The camera takes good photos and videos, both the back and the front camera. The cameras are also packed-full of options in the settings for you to choose from. 6. Battery life. This, of course, depends on how you use your phone. The phone has a 4600 mAh battery. Certainly, I wish Asus had equipped the phone with a bigger battery. However, you can be sure of getting a full work-day from a single charge. 7. It supports dual SIM, but its either two SIMs or one SIM and a Micro-SD card. It is always better when a phone is able to support two SIM cards AND a micro-SD card, so you don't have to choose between a second SIM card and a micro-SD. 8. It has a 3.5 mm headphone jack! 9. The overall build quality is premium. It doesn't feel or look cheap. I love the aluminum body. I'm happy it does not have a glass back. I don't care much about wireless charging or IP68 certification (waterproofing a phone is not a big deal for me). If I have to choose between loudness and clarity of a phone's volume, on the one hand, and waterproofing the phone, on the other hand, better sound quality will always be my choice. I wish very strongly that ASUS will release a newer version of the Zenfone 3 Ultra, but without getting rid of the functional bezels and without changing the aspect ratio of the screen. Stay away from those stupid notches and holes. Give us a bigger battery, louder speakers, a faster processor, true two-SIM card support (not either a second SIM card or a micro-SD card), more RAM, and please please please do not change the aspect ratio. Retain the 3.5 mm headphone jack and support for expandable storage.

  • Same problem here with my phone... The camera cannot focus well and turn out all the picture i took all in blurry... Its such a waste to have a good phone but the camera is not functioning well...

  • Very good smartphone but... It would be perfect with NFC !

  • TDC in Denmark :-) But i have the mate 20X now.

  • Hi All. WARNING! I bought one of these for my wife. Initially she loved it as she die not need glasses, but after the first O/S software upgrade, the camera failed to focus.. We did extensive research on many local and international ASUS forums and it is a problem with the hardware..It requires submitting the phone to ASUS for repair. Please do your own research, good phone but hardware wise buggy

  • What cellphone company do u use with the Asus

  • Hey now, good feedback. Which phone were you speaking of Thever67?

  • Now i have the mate 20X for aound 2 month, love it. But still the Ultra have a bigger display, this i still miss and could still think to buy a Ultra once again or get my display repaired :-)

  • I got this phone in summer 2016 and it has been an absolute delight using this device. This phone has not let me down and I have carelessly dropped it many times(very hard)and still functions well.Camera and video clarity is exceptional and I use it daily for my work.My kids too regularly use this device to play games and it does get really hot.Despite the abuse this phone has taken(my kids playing games) it still functions with great speed, the battery has slightly deteriorated due to overuse but still will last the whole day (in March 2019).It has a good graphic card and I daily watch movies on YouTube.I know at least 2 people who recently purchased this device after seeing my phone.Best Android phone!

  • Have a Zen 3 ultra and love it my issue is I reeeeally need help rooting it via no computer. I used kingroot and at the end says getting something but no root. I've use the others too so you wise ones help a neophyte in this matter

  • I have a zenfine

  • So I have a Zen 3 ultra unlocked on metro pcs/T-Mobile and lob it yes. The size 4 me is perfect I'm 6'6 so lol

  • I would really really really want to get this home for Christmas! But debating on it due to some research that I've been doing. I have heard that with certain carriers you can get for 4G or 3G but NOT LTE. I have MetroPCS so I don't know if having LTE with 4G will make a difference or not, especially with this phone since it has a very fast processor. I have heard that MetroPCS won't accept certain IMEI numbers and I have no idea if this phone even has one. I don't want to waste my money to find out that my carrier won't accept the phone. So I would like to know if this phone will take MetroPCS? If yes, does it have LTE and if not does it at least have 4G? How fast is the phone and what is the speed of light compared to a normal phone with 4G LTE is it the same or slower? I will make my decision if I want to buy this phone or not in a few weeks so I want as many opinions as possible on this. Please and Thank you?

  • Yes, all the phones i talk about here have the google apps, play, gmail etc. But just tell seller you want or you can download them urself in appgallery app, thats huawei app store. So no problem at all.

  • Ok. Cool. I'm impressed with your phone taste (smile). Did the Huawei phone's you have already have Google Play installed? I have the Huawei Mediapad M3----love it, even use it as a phone on occasions..

  • It was... But now you can only but it online.

  • yes it comes pre-installed and no i didnt had any issues with it. I have been using this phone since it released. Still in love with it.

  • I have not mi max 3 more, i sold it. Now i have both honor note 10 and honor 8x max, note 10 is really really nuce and best, but 8x max us a really good phone for the price. I am on a honor note 10 global facebook site to (y)

  • Hey, I got the Mi Max 3, I don't like it. I like my Mi Max 2 better. Do you have either the mi max 3, honor 8x max and honor note 10 yet? I've been checking out the Honor 8x Max.

  • Im glad to hear. Mine is hidden now, i got the mi max 3, honor 8x max and honor note 10 to chose between now lol. But for sure the Ultra is really good, I'll never forget it, was my first real BIG after som small Sammy note models.

  • Hi, yes, when I received my ASUS ZENFONE 3 ULTRA a few days ago, I had to update also. I now have Android 7.0 to my surprise. I'm loving this phone, as I only buy big phones---at least 6.3 inch screens.

  • Thanks for the feedback. I just purchased a Rose Gold Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra. Thus far, I'm very happy with my purchase. I had been contemplating getting this phone for some time. I do agree, even in 2018, it's still in the game given this phone came out in 2016!

  • I have this ohone since the first day ut cones out. All works oerfect on this phone, really perfect. Its still a really good phone in late 2018 really. Have good power, good camera, big battery and then it has my good old loving 16:9 ratio format

  • Sure it have Google Play. I just needed to update when I started for 1st time! Very impressive phone.

  • Big and Best ! I love my Smarphone Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL. Battery, Camera, speed, very, very top ! (sorry my english is very bad, I not speak good in english)

  • Hi, great review! Does the Asus Zenfone Ultra have Google Play installed? If so, have you experienced any issues with Google Play? I too, own the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 and I just purchased the Xiaomi Mi Max 3.

  • No, they promised last year, but then they say no after, so no Oreo.

  • oreo update is available or not?

  • Precise, got it my self to (y)

  • They got it in ebay, where i bought mine 2 years ago, its a really good phone indeed.

  • Do you own this phone? Because I do and tray #2 is micro size, there you can use an micro sd or another micro SIM card.

  • You either have a wrong phone or you have not checked out the very manual you are pasting here....are you ok?

  • I think your points are subjective and not objective maybe you were very disappointed with previous comments against your Mi Mix2. Most of what you said against Asus were the exact opposite of what other people said.

  • Contrary to specifications on gsmarena.com, ZU680KL has dual Nano SIM slots and doesn't support Micro SIM cards at all. Both SIM card slots on Zenfone 3 Ultra only support Nano SIM cards. Micro SIM cards are not supported by any of 2 SIM card slots. I own Zenfone 3 Ultra and can confirm that ZU680KL only supports 2 Nano SIM cards. Micro SIM cards are not supported. Please check the official user's manual at

  • Is this still available in Philippines?

  • really luv this phone.. but cant replace the lcd bcos there is ni sparepart..

  • I would like screen 7 inch maybe 7.5. HD 2250 x 1080 or 1200. For the resolution, that can battery handle the demand. Hey why not full 4 k and bump battery 7500 Dream big! I love the dual 24 mp

  • I hope the same for a new Zenfone 5 Ultra model. We will see if that will become reality at the MWC 2018 expo that it runs in Spain this Week.

  • Mi max 2 is not having the required LTE Bands for coverage at Europe, Russia, Africa and the left part of Asia (near Europe) and Oceania. You can use it only with 3g. Zenfone 3 ultra covers all that continents so if far superior. The only think that is missing is the NFC. Asus quality is premium far better that mi max 2.

  • I got one end of 2016. Love it, has worked excellent.

  • I got one end of 2016. Love it, has worked excellent.

  • Good luck looking for one because that gonna cost a lot and no manufacture will even built it.

  • i cannot find this phone in any store here on hongkong, they said that this model is already not avaible. Can anybody tell me why? tnx

  • My perfect phone would be 6.8 inch size 1920x1080 ( 16 by 9 ) phablet with 845 snapdragon , Bluetooth 5.0 , Wi-Fi ac Double band,600 Download speed , FM radio , NFC , Double 24 Mega Pixel OIS 3D rear camera , 23 Mp secondary front , Infrared port , Super AMOLED Corning Gorilla Glass 5 3D Screen , 6600 mAh Battery , Dolby double speaker , Double 4G SIM, 256 GB ROM 8GB RAM with SD Card Capacity. Believe me i dont want more and i wont upgrade after that

  • imagine this size phablet with 845 snapdragon ,ASUS would be the winner of the 2018 and king of all other phone manufactures!

  • I'm not happy this ultra is to hot in my hands like ironing my hand I bought a week is not good

  • I have had my Ultra for 3 months now… every so often it throws a wobbly and locks up… but after a restart comes back to life… it is a good phone, as well as all of the other functions... I love to watch movies and photos, well the quality is insane… 23MP… I am really enjoying this phone… 😀😀

Are there other issues with the phone which cannot be resolved because i live in Nigeria and no after sales support and return back option here. will be grateful for a quick answer Thank you

  • Can someone tell me which audio DAC it uses - asus india does not have any info about it ? I have Vivo x5 max and Mi max1 prime [128 gb version] so need one BIG phone [like mi max] with Hi-Res audio support - one device for all audio and video needs instead of two devices Is the audio DAC of this phone better than that of vivo x5 max ? no info on the internet about this ? Any advise please ..............................................

  • Keep it up, Asus! For us taller people with bigger hands and pockets, this screen size is great! Add more high end stuff and will support it all the way!! Samsung just dropped out of the race without a decent 7inch phone, masquerade a '6.3inch' note8 and discontinued the tab s2 8.0....

  • I see you are a brand conscious/brand first buyer because the Mi Mix I recommended is far better in build quality and features than your Zenfone 3 ultra ever is, and the Mi Mix is far superior in features and yet lower in price than your Zenfone 3 ultra. If you see Xiaomi as a brand as too 'low end' for your taste, it's your perception. I can't blame you for that even if your perceived impression of the brand has no real basis in facts. As for me, my experience with Asus has put it lower than Xiaomi in the durability ladder. It left me buying the brand with caution. Common Asus phone owner complaints from my friends include overheating, usb port becoming loose and no longer charging, glitchy apps after every update, rapidly deteriorating battery, and bootloops. Personally, my Asus Nexus 2013 lte tablet is no longer charging due to the loose/damaged usb port, its power button fell off as it became brittle and cracked, and I've been living with its phantom touches on the screen and the drastically reduced battery life. It's probably isolated but hearing complaints from other Asus users as well make me recommend the brand with a lot more caution than Xiaomi. That is based on experience and not just some gut feel.

  • I am very much sad and angry at Asus for not releasing a newer model of zenfone 3 ultra for 2017. I was waiting and waiting for the news at the conference to come up but unfortunately i didnot come. I have this phone since it got released and i love every aspect of it. It is super phone in regard to the screen size and audio level in addition to the camera and battery life. God I hate you Asus for ignoring this phone categry.

  • Sad to day you did not appreciate the value of money. Coming from Samsung s7, I always use mi max because of battery. Anyway people is different, some are always finds the looks. HAHA

  • Sorry, but again the Mi phones really does not appeal to me as a brand. I really find the built quality as too low end for my taste. I already tried the Mi Max and I was not impressed with the built, OS and performance of the phone. It's a good back up phone because of its battery life but that just it. I really want a similar phone like my current Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra but with updated specs and design. The size is also perfect for me too. I still want the 6.8 inches screen.

  • Actually the Mi Max 2 has an official global ROM version if you want to have the official Google Playstore and other Google Apps ans no Chinese apps/characters. If you find the Mi Max 2's snapdragon 625 processor too low end, you can upgrade to the Original Mi Mix which now has an official global Rom version with official Google Playstore and Google Apps. It costs lesser than the Zenfone 3 ultra now but has more premium build, processor and features not like the highly overpriced Zenfone 3 ultra which sports midrange specs at flagship prices.

  • I felt sad that Asus did not release a new model of this phone. I'm considering upgrading my Zenfone 3 Ultra if Asus will release an Asus Zenfone 4 Ultra model. I couldn't find a phone in the market that would match my current phone. Mi Max 2 is too low end for my liking. And I don't like the Mi Max Chinese OS. It's so annoying.

  • I have had this phone for more than a year, I love it, I like very much its Camera, I got the craters on the moon ¡ I like it's twin speakers I like the Quality of the Screen, it's size, And many other features. The things I expect from the next zenfone ULTRA would be a snapdragon 800 family processor or at least the 660,to be able to edit the videos it Can record, and to have bluetooth 5.0 . and a 6 or 8 GB MEMORY. sound recording becomes awful sometimes when it changes levels rendering many VIDEOS or sound recordings useless,, I DON'T KNOW if there is a manual setting for recording levels or some app for that. I use it in Mexico where the proper LTE band isn't available, yet other zenfone 3 models here do. I'll buy the next 6.8 ultra, this phone is not for your common user, I'm not a common user. don't betray us, your admirers.

  • Why my zenfone ultra3 is not automaticaly update the sofware even i update manually how to do.the version is still in 6.0.i need your help thank you

  • I got it at last!!! Bargain on Amazon! Updated to 7.0, rooted (easily). What a beatiful beast! I owned Xiaomi Mi Max (accidentally broken) which was great (camera apart). But this one... The best phablet ever! I owned Xperia Z Ultra (great), Huawei P8 Max (UI disappointing). Really happy :)

  • Understand your point, it is more to the appreciation on the phone itself rather than shouting on specification to compete which is a better phone. In fact, both are ok phone to use, just the selling point is different. I personally using Mi Max 32GB as my main driver, previously using Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, Acer Liquid S2, OPPO Find 7. This Mi Max is the best among those, which really outperform those, with really smooth experience, heavy duty, long battery life, has Quick Charge, no overheating like crazy, frequent OS update, and comparable camera quality, and just cost less than half. Only feature missing is NFC, but added IR, which is very useful for me like my old S4. Recently buying a Qualcomm QC2.0 charger and I really satisfied with it overall. This is also the only phone that can last for full 1 day on heavy usage

  • The comparison was as a result of a previous poster making a comparison based on features, functionality etc as well as the day to day usage of one device versus another. So in my humble opinion, the comments are fair based on that chain of conversation. The comparison wasn't about technical pricing of the chip set etc, which may indeed show that its overpriced. However, as I tried to say in one of my previous posts, only the person buying the phone can justify if the price is right for them, this can be a subjective matter and is not quite as cut and dried as a specification sheet for most users. In real world usage, a faster chip may not be noticeable to most ordinary users, such as myself, and potentially most ordinary users may not look at the chip as the first point of interest (I have never looked at which chip a phone has) In summary, I understand your point, but it wasn't the crux of what was being discussed.

  • Well, cannot compare the phone with different price range as it is unfair. Mi Max is a budget device and Zenfone 3 Ultra is twice or trice more expensive, and for sure can be equipped better. However, it is just equipped with SD652, which doesn't match it's price tag, considering it is same price as Zenfone 3 Deluxe.

  • This is typical "ASUS" issue that happen frequently. It can't detect the Micro SD card properly after updates. I first encounter this issue on Fonepad, and get the phone motherboard replaced 2 times to solve this issue and overall a quality issue (phone death). Then, I got myself a Zenfone 2, also getting this issue after update firmware. No problem to my micro SD card, it is the phone issue. I downgrade software, factory reset, all no help. Suggest you consult at service center.

  • Just shutoff very often alone, most of the times when seeing videos. Less than 6 months using it, and just hate. Anyone knows why this is happening?

  • No, phone is unlocked GSM and Verizon is CDMA only.

  • Im here in saudi arabia im looking for this phone anywhere i cant find please help where can i buy asus zenfone 3 ultra🤔🤔

  • I have both the Mi Max & Zenfone 3 Ultra but definitely the Ultra is much more superior than the Mi Max in almost all aspects. The only thing that holds me to keep the Mi Max is just its battery life. Definitely, it has more battery life than the Ultra. I use it as a back up phone just in case my Ultra & Iphone 7+ battery would get drained. For me, the Ultra is my over all multi media phone. I just love the screen of this phone. I feel like I'm watching on TV and not on a phone. I use it mostly on my social media activities, watching videos on YT, Netflix or streaming movies. I just love the speaker of this phone. I don't need to use another speaker if I need to watch something. It's loud enough that i can hear the sounds very clearly. I also use it to edit the photos taken from my fujifilm XA2 that I posted on IG & FB. I don't really use the camera of this phone because I prefer my XA2 camera over my phone cameras. I can't say anything about the gaming performance of this phone because I don't play games on my phone. I think the high price of this phone is really justified because it's really a superior phone of its class & size. I had this phone since October 2016 and so far I'm still happy with it. I still couldn't find a phablet of this size that is more superior than the Ultra in my opinion. I highly recommend the Zenfone 3 Ultra if you really want a phablet of this size. I really hope the next generation of the Ultra line would be much more superior than this.

  • will this worlk with verizon wireless in US?

  • Good phone

  • It's really difficult to justify the Zenfone 3 ultra's price because of the existence of the Mi Max. If the Zenfone 3 ultra only had an IR blaster in addition to all the other features it currently has (slimport, FM radio, etc.), then I'd say its worth more than the iphone 7 plus or samsung galaxy s8+.

  • It depends on your budget, but I would advise you check into it yourself, read reviews, watch videos on Youtube (plenty of videos of Zenfone vs others on there). There’s a reason why there’s a different in price between Mi Max and Zenfone, some of which will be quality of build materials of the case, camera specification, speakers and other specification differences. If you have narrowed your choice down to Mi Max and Zenfone, only you can decide what is important to you as some things will obviously be deal breakers. For example I see an IR blaster as a non-feature for me, alongside water resistance, but everyone has an opinion. Personally I looked at both and chose Zenfone as it had better reviews and I like the feel of a solid aluminium brick in my jeans pocket :-D

  • This phone is so big and cool, 4gb ram, 4600mAh batery... Amesome phone!

  • Factory reset your phone after the update, the Music app has been discontinued by Asus, a Factory reset would remove it and other old unmaintained Asus apps from your phone. Asus is planning to slowly discontinue most of its apps and replace them with Google's equivalent apps. For music you can use the default Google Play Music app or you can install any other player. They have also removed Asus Notes, Asus recommends to use Google Keep instead of it. They have also planned to remove the gallery app in the next update, they gonna replace it with Google Photos. Asus's new plan is to combine stock Android app experience with their Zen UI.

  • Seriously, No. Better for you to buy the Mi Max Prime. The Mi Max Prime has a larger battery (4850mAh vs. 4600mAh for the Zenfone ultra) so you enjoy the big screen longer. Both have the same screen resolution (1920x1080) and the same Snapdragon 652 processor so you're getting the same processing power and screen quality. The Mi Max has slightly smaller screen size (6.44" vs. 6.8" for the Zenfone ultra) but it is by no means a large disadvantage especially when you consider that the slightly smaller screen makes the Mi Max easier to handle and more pocketable. The Mi Max size is what I would call a 'true phablet (still a phone) while the Zenfone 3 ultra is more of a 'mini tablet' with phone functionality. The Mi Max also has an infrared blaster built in which gives you a powerful master remote controller for almost all your appliances everywhere you go (tv, dvd/bd/cd players, receivers/amplifiers, cable/satellite tv box, aircon, etc.). The Zenfone 3 ultra does not have remote control functionality. Lastly, you can get two Mi Max 128 GB phones for the price on one Zenfone 3 ultra 64GB phone. In short, the Zenfone 3 ultra is just not worth buying given its current price and lack of compelling features that justify its 2 times the price over the Mi Max.

  • is this phone worth buying?

  • try holding the power button for thirty seconds or till the device shuts off and then turn it back on and see what happens.

  • My zenfone ultra just off while im watching a movie and im going to restart it it just loading for almost 3hrs already just the logo is shown what im going to do? I will just wait for it to get battery low and charge it?

  • No Internet trough Sim card 4G.what to do?

  • LTE is 4G at its minimum so yes it dowork with T-Mobile aswell

  • Can someone help me where to buy this phone aside from online shops? Thanks in advance

  • I got the 7.0 update... Everything works great, except the music app doesn't work properly (it worked great prior to the update). And the sd card continues to be re mounted (stayed mounted prior to update) and when turning the screen on the mounting process makes the screen slightly glitchy because of it.. Anyone else have this issue?

  • Can someone please answer my question : Is this Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL work with T-Mobile 4G LTE? Thank you

  • My Zenfone 3 Ultra has now updated to nougat and I can confirm it works really well. The OS is smooth and the phone is very responsive.

  • Is this compatible with galaxy gear S2 ?

  • I had this phone for 4 months I love it but it just went blank 2 days ago. I had in the front pocket of my jeans and when I took it out it the screen went blank. I hate where the placed the on and off button. Very clumsy.

  • So the Android Nougat 7.0 OS is still not stable yet to be upgraded to this ZenFone 3 Ultra?

  • Mind updated to the 7.0 Nougat. So far I haven't noticed anything different about this version. The only complaint is that Google Play music won't play all of my tunes from my SD card. Not sure if it's a google play issue or Asus issue. I put the SD Card in my Shield K1 tablet which also has Nougat and can play the songs I wasn't able to play on this unit. I had to download another music app just to play those tunes.

  • Can you advise shops or malls selling this unit in Philippines as this phone is not available in my current location. Will be going for 2 months vacation this end of the month and this is one of my first thing to do - buy this awesome phone :) appreciate your help please, thanks

  • I got this phone 2 weeks ago. In short : battery and screen are amazing. Pretty decent performance, camera quite good to (some noise in low light, but ois really effective). And don't worry about the size, it still fits in my pocket, after one week you won't notice the massive size anymore.

  • Did anyone upgrade the Asus ZenFone 3 Ultra to Android Nougat 7.0 latest OS? Any comment about the latest OS?

  • What's the best network provider to hook up the zf3 ultra on?

  • Thanks!! for the Info!! needed a dual SIM that both slot support 3G and above, Have such BAD experience with Asus customer service though, (because of my existing ZE600KL) they just don't seems to CaRe!!

  • Zenfone 3 Ultra both sim slots are support for 4G VoLTE :) Nice product and best part is we can connect the TV directly through USB C port. Its plug and play just need convertor USB C to HDMI

  • It's a dual sim phone. You can use nano sim (slot 1) or micro sim (slot 2)/ or a micro sd card.

  • Do any of you kind-soul know if this model supports both SIM card to be at least 3G and above? I have the ZE600KL and only 1 SIM support 3G/4G while the other only 2G be default and Singapore facing-out 2G in April

  • I like it very Much, But my only problem is it very often doesn't focus, I keep changing between front and rear until it begins focusing properly, I WONDER if there is some way of reseting the focusing, or of solving the problem?

  • Just go to your network provider and ask for a new sim? Its free

  • I like it very Much, But my only problem is it very often doesn't focus, I keep changing between front and rear until it begins focusing properly, I WONDER if there is some way of reseting the focusing, or of solving the problem?

  • Although the price of Mi Max is good. Some of the reviews on main sites were a bit hit and miss with some sites saying great build others saying not. Asus is built very well. Main complaint of Asus is bloatware, Mi Max has poor OS implementation apparently (I have no experience), Asus has really good dual speakers, I think Mi Max has 2 grills but 1 speaker. Screen is great on both. Also I am a sucker for something a bit different. As with probably most of Europe this phone isn't on sale so is very different. I know some people complain, spec vs price is too high for the phone. However its only slightly slower than mainstream phones and in UK its £300-500 cheaper than flagship phones (Iphone 7 Plus, Samsung Galxy Edge) but it isn't far off their performance, but tbh I wouldn't notice much of a difference anyway as I have better things to do with my time, hehe

  • I am having the same dilemma... I have never hold an ultra, but i did hold and try a mi max and the screeen is amazing on that phone... What made you choose the ultra?

  • Hey Captain.... I Hope u willbe fine..I want to purchase this phone as soon as possible... How can I purchased it . M from pakistan...

  • Having used this phone for 2 months I still love it, most things work well but there are 2 things that bother me a little. 1. When using the camera in daylight, it is great, in low light it isn't very good unless you select Super Resolution which is pretty good. Unfortunately this isn't selected automatically for you like with my old Samsung Note 4 (and I assume some other mainstream phones), so the photo taking process is a little bit slower. I think that Asus need to work a little on the photo app. 2. Bluetooth seems a little weak/temperamental. At the moment I can't connect to my car :-( It connects to most of my items but its a bit inconvenient and I am trying to find a solution. Again I hope that Asus will address this with their next update. Hope this helps someone.

  • This is actually my dream phone. i really love this phone, the specifications are beast! like if will also watch the videos on YT on the comparisons of the phablets, this is the No.1 on all the phones out there at the moment. if you're a gamer, strongly recommend this phone, even for people who loves watching movies and streaming, this one is the King! DAICHI from The Philippines

  • I have a V20 now and after getting it I am planning to sell it and I am planning to get a phone with a bigger screen. Either a Mate 9 or this Zenfone 3 Ultra. I know I could do better with the cameras of the V20 and the Mate 9 but the overall experience is different with the Zenfone 3 Ultra. Its look is unique, the speakers are great and the camera is also great. The screen looks fantastic as what reviews are saying. I think when I already sold my V20, I will buy this phone already.

  • can i confirm this phone can use Micro-SIM card? I don't have nano sim.

  • Anyone come across a tough or waterproof case for this phone yet?

  • Thanks @BluSleeper. Managed to buy the grey version on eBay UK and a friend brought it over to Philli. Grey's the best colour for me, and seems to be less slippery to hold than the others. Great bit of kit in general. I've come from a LG G4 (superb phone + camera) but the Ultra beats it in almost everything ...except the camera + no IR blaster. Battery lasts me an average of 3 days, speakers are superb for music as well as speaker calls (not really understanding everyone's complaints about the speakerphone), fast response for all apps and perfect sized screen for everything. Admittedly, it is quite heavy to hold one handed. If anyone likes big screen phones and doesn't mind it being heavy I can't recommend it enough tbh.

  • I was using Giff Gaff up to a few weeks ago, which I think uses O2 backbone and it was ok. I am now using Plusnet. You should check phone frequencies and what O2 use before purchase. Good luck.

  • are you using 02 i am thinking of getting the phone would like to know if its okay on this network ?

  • thank you

  • Can it get 4g lte from T-Mobile??

  • I was considering the Mi Max before I bought this phone and it may be cheaper but the reviews on build quality and in general weren't so good. This phone isn't for everyone as its huge, but quality is very good. It just depends on your individual needs and budgets, everyone needs to decide what is for them.

  • I think this is still pending, a few people have asked Asus to enable root access and apparently they are working on delivering ability to root it maybe in first quarter this year, then I guess someone will start making custom roms. I am waiting too.

  • Official components are listed on Asus site, listed as ASUS ZenEar S with Mic (hi-res supported, DTS fine-tuned), USB-C Cable 2.0, Ejector Pin, USB Power Adapter, Documentation (User Guide, Warranty Card) Its what I got in the box.

  • @JJ - What did you get in the box for £430? Did you get any earphones in the box?

  • What was in the box for £430? Did you get any earphones in the box?

  • Thank you for your time, I'll be patient, and check again for the updates.

  • does it have custom rom like cm? miui? does it had root twrp?

  • Does the phone at least get phone calls in the US for AT&T? I might make the sacrifice of LTE if the HSPA + is good and the calls work.

  • Dear CaptainWalker I am doing so from a theoretical perspective. HOWEVER you say: "In other words they seem to have gotten the most and best of the configuration at reduced cost" the phone is NOT sold at a REDUCED cost, this phone is too expensive for what it offers, the hardware of it each and each component is not worth the price ASUS is asking, yes it may well be superb phone with wonderful synergy and I'm actually interested in it myself BUT it's not worth more than 400$-450$, the components in it - doesnt matter how well they work still not add up to more than 400$-450$ value, I suggest to people to wait a few month till the price drops to what the phone is actually worth, OR see if there'll be a Zenfone 4 ultra a successor in May (the new Zenfone family) now if the new Zenfone 4 ultra would be just as expensive let's hope that this time ASUS will put in it components which are worth the price they're asking, or by that time hopefully the cost of the older Zenfone 3 ultra would drop to what it's worth.

  • It doesn't receive LTE from ATT because it lacks LTE bandS 2 and 4, I found the hard way, yet it works decently with H+ 3G,, and WiFi transferred from a Huawei hotspot.

  • @BigPhonesOptions When you say the price of the phone is a ripoff can you please confirm once and for all, if you have long term direct experience of using the phone (as I have)? The answer to this should be a simple yes or no - but passing strange if would be, if you suddenly declare a yes. When you say 'Im not saying the phone is not good or doesnt have a wonderful synergy between the components' - youre still not declaring any real working knowledge of its synergy of components. You then go on to ask about more processing power. This means you like all others in a debate out there on specs, are doing so from a theoretical perspective. I've never experienced anything crippling about ZenUI on this phone. Perhaps you could reveal the basis of your conclusion about that. Note that I am not into a debate on specs and why not this processor or that processor. You could of course ask ASUS, directly your questions on more powerful CPU from the 8xx family. If anyone wants to have a discussion about real performance of the phone in real life, Id welcome that. I'm not here to defend ASUS putting in a lower power processor. However, I could see the business wisdom of working harder at synergy of components to reduce production cost and maximise performance. In other words they seem to have gotten the most and best of the configuration at reduced cost. I'm happy with the price for the value I have in my hands. Others may not and that's totally fine.

  • People are slowly discovering that the ZF3U is superior to lots of Samsung Note series phone (including the Note 7).

  • Why do you buy this phone . Therr is xisomi mi max which has better quality and less price.and this one is too big for a phone. Mi max is normal as big phone but this one is tablet. Go get xiaomi mi max if u have 350 dollars 4/128. Less price and better quality. Or wait for mi max 2

  • I've ordered the phone as well now. Should get it within the next few days.

  • best phone ever... - fast - crazy battery life -amazing build what I was doing with samsung"s notes, samsung note 1,2,3,4,5,7 (i had all of them) are so inferior to ULTRA

  • Yes, if you can install, parallels.

  • Can dual whatsapp?

  • Good afternoon thanks for all the great feedback on this phone. I am in no way affiliated to Asus. I am based in UK and bought the phone from eGlobal for approximately £430 delivered. Its a great phone. I did note a couple of issues with usage though, but so far really loving it. I am the latest update as far as I know, just did a check update a few minutes ago to double check. I am currently running MMB29P.13.6.15.21-20161215. Issue one is the camera, which someone suggested use manual mode and everything is good so will give that a try, thanks :-). Issue 2 is when it reads files in a folder (using Gallery or File Manager), it seems to take a bit of time to refresh and the file thumbnails stay grey for a few seconds (2-10seconds) before it finally loads the thumbnails associated with the file. Even on folders where only 15-20 files exist it is quite noticeable. Over the weekend I installed a 200gb Sandisk microsd card (SDSDQUAN-200G-G4A) and I wasn't sure if it was due to size of card and amount of images/films I transferred but when looking through a folder it was really slow, all thumbnails were grey for 5-20 seconds. I will take the memory card back and go for an Extreme with lower space. Has anyone else noticed this thumbnail problem? any settings I can changed to improve reduce? Generally as a Samsung Note 4 user I think its a great piece of kit and as Captain says, a little over £400 vs £650+, you can't go wrong. just a few little tweaks would be appreciated. thanks in advance :-)

  • why u guys dont review prie of the mobiles. plz mention price too will be helpful

  • it's very okay to like the phone :) why could they not have used a more powerful CPU from the 8xx family? OR make the phone more affordable which would correspond to it's mid-ramge SOC and setup? I'm not saying the phone is not good or doesn't have a wonderful synergy between the components, but that price ASUS asks for it is just not reasonable, even if the Note 7 lags in comparison you still get a better SOC better RAM better modem better screen better camera each component is higher end other than the crippling software(but then Zenui is also crippling), so when you pay a high premium for it you know you are paying for the hardware, later on down the line you might put a different ROM on it clear from Samsungs touchwiz and it won't lag the hardware being higher end is more futureproof unlike the midrange hardware on the zenfone ultra. Asus made a good phone here a good midrange phone but they ask a price which does not reflect it's value, it's a ripoff. Pixel is a ripoff and Iphone is a ripoff and also Samsungs when they are new they are sold at ripoff prices, but all the last 3 are true flagships so at least you get ripped off but you know you payed for the hardware, in the Zenfone ultra you get ripped off for a flagship and you get a good midranger.

  • @Bob On WhatsApp with dual sim - I must say I really don't know. I haven't tried that. A trawl of Google brings up a link - where people say it can work.

  • @BigPhonesOptions Your perspective is interesting. Note that you rely on specifications to assess the Zenfone 3 Ultra's value for money. You gave no direct experience of using the phone and did not refer to the synergy of its components in real life. I do not enter a debate based purely on specs. I'm on about phone performance in real life. People can debate specs and value till the cows come home but they simply CANNOT know how the ZF3U performs with what it has onboard. I know - and I say that it PERFORMS far better than the ill-fated Samsung Galaxy Note 7 which was selling in the UK for £639!! ZF3U is selling at around £450 to £510 delivered. For newcomers to this forum, I had and still own the Galaxy Note 7 (which I'm happy to risk keeping as a collector's item. With some tweaking, it hasn't been bricked by Samsung). I have declared several times before that my shared experience is not driven by any financial motivation. As you the reader may see I can 'throw away' £639 on the Galaxy Note 7. I have no business with ASUS and do not wish to be rewarded for what I say. My only motivation is to assist people in selecting the right phone for their needs. I have already said several times that this phone is not for everybody. I note people have been whinging about all sorts of malfunctions with the ZF3U. Most of those people have not declared that they have properly updated the phone's firmware to the latest version and configured the phone according to instructions. Since I've purchased several weeks ago, there have been 5 ROM updates and each time, the phone gets sweeter!! LOL If people wish to purchase phones based on value for specification only, that's up to them. I have absolutely no problem with that. All I know is that I'm still loving this phone very dearly and more and more each day!! Is that okayyyy? :))

  • Since its dual sim. Can it use dual WhatsApp for different sim?

  • does this phone support voLTE ?

  • Yes lovely piece of tech...

  • It'd true. Silver only for the Philippines. You can order online or abroad for that color. I was looking for that too.

  • Yes speakerphone is crap but I don't know about the charging problem. Kindly explain.

  • To help with ur low light issues use manual mode. It is incredible. You get much better shots and can adjust everything like a pro cam. Works for me :)

  • Very true. Still unresolved software issue for Speakerphone mic pickup.

  • I agree that it is a major flaw. Turning off the sound enhancement is one option of improving it but I think it's a software problem that can be easily resolved. I have troubleshooted the phone and everything works fine. It's a problem of just optimizing the phone. Wish I was an engineer so I could fix it myself.

  • Anyone know if the gray version is available in The Philippines? Visayas region. The official Asus store in SM Cebu said only Silver or Pink is available in Philippines? (not sure if that's true). Thanks

  • Dearest lady. For some private reasons,Chinese versions do not support Google, but the glo versions support Google and its regarded related apps!!!That's what I can say now!!Justice Rights,Omid12Omidvar,....

  • Is there a difference in Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra CHINA and INTERNATIONAL versions? Does the CHINA version have Google Play Store? Anyone knows? Thanks!

  • I agree that the phone (for what it is) is overpriced. I should be about $ 150 - $200 cheaper. Having said that though I have a phone that is built like a Bentley and looks and feels fantastic and knowing Asus' commitment to excellence I do not doubt that a lot of time effort and money went into designing and building this phone so despite the fact the high cost hurts I still feel like I got what I needed and wanted.

  • The build quality of the phone is superb and it runs buttery smooth. The screen is excellent with very accurate colours. So much easier to use and see what you are doing on this big screen. Tested out the anti-motion blur feature and it works brilliantly... all that annoying blurring is now gone.

  • sCaptainWalker I'm a fan! I enjoy reading all the positives things you write here about the phone, your enthusiasm is genuine and influential! I think that Asus should contact you and arrange some reward for your service to them because I feel that you are doing them a great service here :) there seems to be a niche market for those who are looking for a large screen phone (myself included) the main idea is to replace the needs for a tablet i.e. avoid the need to carry a tablet AND a phone. I think the ultimate size is around the 7 inch mark very compact yet much larger screen than the common 5.5 inch phablets around, it seems to be very difficult to find a phone or mini tablet made without compromises or either the camera (if it's a tablet) or screen size (if it's a phone good specs but smaller screen under 6 inch) making phone calls on the large device might look ridiculous to certain people but I don't care personally first because I hardly make calls and second because when I do I use the inbuilt speaker anyways as I don't care for the radiation to go straight into my head thanks, Huawei came up with the P8 max in 2015 it was a very compelling device but comparing to today's devices it will now be quite outdated no USB 3 speeds older generation camera no fingerprint etc... and at the time it came out it was quite expensive so not so affordable, the Zenfone 3 Ultra I feel suffers from the same 'disadvantages' of the P8 max of the past, it is an interesting phone with a large display yet without sacrifising the camera I think it has a decent camera from what I've seen online yet the price of it, no matter how excited I get from looking at reviews and especially from reading CaptainWalker's reviews here, the cost of it is just NOT justified it has a mid ranger CPU and FHD resolution screen intead of QHD for insance, it has USB Type C but not USB 3 speeds, this phone is worth 400$-500$, now, I don't think Snapdragon 652 is incapable of doing things or that FHD resolution is not enough BUT for the price Asus should have imbued it with flagship specs, Snapdragon 820 and QHD resolution, or price the device properly at 400$-500$, now eventually the phone price might decrease but by the time the technology in it would be outdated just the same thing that happened with the P8 max which nowadays is sold for a reasonalbe price. the only thing left to do is wait for to see if a p10 max would be made either with really flagship specs and flagship price or midrange specs and midrange price, or maybe Sony can finally come up with a z ultra followup? or maybe LeEco should revisit their original design with the Letv max? maybe someone else would come with a nice compact tablet or huge phone with good specs? at the moment it is NOT worhtwhile to spend the money on the Zenfone 3 Ultra , it is still overpriced for what you get.

  • Hopefully you have done the full system updates. Lots of people fault a phone - I'm not saying you - when there is a correctable software issue. I've had 5 system updates since I got mine a few weeks ago. Each time I could feel the phone working better, camera and all. As for 4G issues. None on my side. I'm regularly getting between 70 and 104 Mbit/s download speed and 20 -35 Mbit/s uploads on Three network in the UK.

  • I really wanted this phone, now I have it, I like it but I think I'll have to have it replaced,I have TWO PROBLEMS 1 the camera is fantastic WHEN FOCUSING WORKS, I have to keep cycling between front and rear cameras, until it decides to work, so that spur of the moment pictures are compromised. 2 people on the other side of the line seem not to hear me ( from the same places I used to call with my previous Note 4). Another problem of my own making, is that it has no 4G connection since I had it brought from Taiwan and there are not available band 2 and band 4 4G models does anyone know if using a Huawei 4G hotspot which says 150mbps, and which emits over WIFI will get my phone to high speed? ( it isn't that bad trough H+) thank you.

  • Hello Captain, I'm going to order it now from Eglobal Central UK. Thanks for your help. Adeel

  • Scroll this forum. Thanks.

  • Yep it's in my hands!! The second ZF3U!!!! LOL. Ordered on 11th December From eglobal central and delivered nicely on time by DPD to my home at 13:30 16th December. Packaging was excellent. Lots of bubble wrap all around the box. Unboxing etc in the next few seconds. I apologise for being such a walking talking advert for this phone. People should choose other phones that suits their needs.

  • As mentioned previously by me - it's not a problem. Everybody is entitled to buy what they want. I had very clearly set out in other posts at list of things that were relevant in selecting a phone. I'm delighted that people have found other phones that suit them. People tend to believe bad news more than well reference views. Isn't that the case?

  • Apologies to those who don't like me banging on about the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra (ZF3U). I just bought another one!! There are people out there moaning about stuff, simply because they don't know that they don't know how to operate this phone, and they won't take the time to find out how to work it. So - advanced is this phone!! Actually this phone is not for ordinary folk. Those who want to believe those people who don't know what they're talking about, can buy other phones - it's all fine.

  • The phone isn't officially sold in the UK, so you just have to choose a foreign company who will ship it to the UK.

  • There are good outlets in UK . Google it

  • Where can I buy this phone from if I live in UK? A legit place please Thanks Adeel

  • I got the phone, more often than not, it just doesn't focus properly with the main camera, I tweak around by switching cameras, doesn't always work, I then got the Fv-5 camera, which doesn't show the focus problems, but doesn't have a 23 MP Capability, all of that is very annoying, I think it's a software glitch Asus keeps not correcting. And I don't know where to write to complain about.

  • No ZU680KL model won't work with ATT because it doesn't sport B2 nor B4 LTE Bands, get a 4g huawei router to get around this problem.

  • This particular model ZU680KL ( ultra) doesn't have LTE band 2 nor band 4 reception, it has almost all the other ones, ATT uses band 2, the only thing you can do, is look for other company, if they don't know what you are talking about, just borrow a SIM card, slide it in and check if your LTE does work. I have the same problem in Mexico, I think a way around this would be to get a Huawei hotspot and have it in your other pocket it'll receive 4g and feed your phone at high speed via WiFi.

  • Thank for your reply Captain. I checked the E Global and there seems to be really bad reviews. Are they genuine or fake from competitors? I am currently using a lumia 1520 so size is not a problem its actually why I chose this instead of the Zenfone 3 deluxe. Also you know of any other sites where I can purchase for uk which are legit? Thanks again Captain Adeel 456

  • Mine is only quick charging with the supplied adapter. Using an Aukey QC 3 charger, it only shows "charging". Anyone have the same experience?

  • Thanks for your help captain. Really appreciated. I am currently using a Lumia 1520 ans have had it since it was released in 2014. It has a 6 inch screen and now that I've seen the ZF3U I know that what I want. Also I've read some reviews of Eglobal Central and most of them are not good. So do you still advise yo buy from Eglobal or do you know if any other suppliers for this phone which can ship to UK? Thanks again Captain Adeel

  • Scroll this forum and numbered links for my other shoutings from rooftops about the ZF3U. :)) For UK folk looking for the ZF3U to purchase, I got it at eglobal central (google it). Last time I checked it can be delivered by insured delivery for £458 after the standard coupon discount they offer (of about £5). Watch out for Xmas rush and postal problems. Avoid buying without insured delivery. I'm still loving this phone more and more everyday!! Recently I discovered the Inkredible App. It's so great for scribbling a few notes using a single finger (and lots of other cool features). So actually, I'm no longer even missing the S-pen. Well yes, people who wanna do various artistic stuff will need an S-pen, in which case get ripped off for the over-hyped Samsung S8. I don't like fattening Samsung by emptying my pocket. LOL. After really heavy use yesterday only 48% power used in 8 hours. Like so cool! Oh - and yesterday a female work colleague spotted my ZF3U and began asking questions. She too was dissed up by the Note 7 debacle. Sadly she bought the Google Pixel XL. In fact she was a bit sad when she put it next to the ZF3U and realised how small the Google Pixel XL looked - just a mere 5.5" screen. :)) So showed off some of the ZF3U to her and she was blown away!! LOL. So she was really considering what to do next after forking out £719 for Pixel! Errrh.. like no - she's not a 6'5" Amazon of a woman with large hands. She's actually about 5'4" and has average sized female hands. So I was surprised when she was asking so much about this phone. I mean if it's too large, you'd just forget about it.

  • Hello Captain, I live in UK too and wanted to know where you bought the Ultra from? I really want it. Thanks Adeel

  • Does anybody know where can I buy Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra in Indonesia? I live in South Sumatera province. Please let me know, thanks!

  • I don't really understand you,are you referring to the Infrared port, but there is a yes.

  • the specification is wrong, there's no IR blaster.

  • You are so naive,i will say the same thing as he is.

  • Well that's a feature of TouchWiz, it automatically launches the media player when you connect with a wireless audio device. Yeah you're right it's quite an annoying feature.

  • im a big fan of asus.... right now im using 4 series of zenfones in my home yesterday i call asus customer care in india..to know about laucnh date of zenfone 3 ultra in india....their said we didnt have any official update on releasing date....than i asked them plz release ultra soon otherwise i go for XPERIA XZ but the customer care boy said go for XPERIA ....its very strange answer............ if still asus didnt go release zenfone 3...............i go for other phone its has a been a long time many people waiting for zenfone 3 ultra for a long time in INDIA

  • Connectivity is super! 4G on Three network in the UK gives me between 80 - 105 Mbps download and 25 - 40 Mbps upload. Wifi is as good as a desktop computer and comes in at 45Mps which surprisingly is less than my 4G. I'm trying to post a link to speedtest result after this sentence (if it shows then cut and paste into your browser, if it does not show then they don't allow links): speedtest.net/my-result/a/2412223177 Many people including me, had an issue with Samsung phones and Bluetooth connection i.e. once connected to a car or other device, many Samsung phones would start playing music. It was so annoying - and I tried many fixes on the net that did not work. Well ZF3U does not give me this problem. I haven't tried creating a Wifi or Bluetooth hotspot, so unable to talk about that sort of connectivity. BTW for those interested, there has been a price drop by about £30 at eglobalcentral (at this time). The current price makes ZF3U a better overall purchase than the ZF3 Deluxe, if I had to choose. But as I said before, it's about personal choice. If people just want to go on specs alone that's fine. I do say again that the synergy among the components on this ZF3U, is something that specifications alone cannot give an idea of real life performance. The way I see it is that it's a balance of the following factors (not a complete list): 1. Size of phone/screen. 2. Screen performance. 3. Sound input/output performance. 4. Camera quality x 2. 5. Cost 6. Specification e.g. RAM, processors etc. 7. Memory expansion. 8. Dual or single sim. 9. Splash/water resistance - ZF3U is not as far as I'm aware. 10. Battery capacity. 11. Power management features and power usage. 12. Metal and/or plastic housing - ZF3U is sturdy metal, so won't do a bendigate unless extreme force is applied. 13. After sales support. For me ZF3U was ideal balancing the above. Others may find a different balance that suits them and choose a different phone. I'm now considering buying a second ZF3U!! I'm so over the moon about this phone!! LMAO

  • wow thanks for sharing. i do have an inexpensive asus tablet and the screen is great and colors are really sharp. i enjoy watching movies on it. i'm really starting to like this phone. i also need to ask you about its connectivity. have you encountered any issues about the zf3u connecting to wifi/mobile data? thanks!

  • About quality of the screen for watching video and photos - I speak from personal experience - it's brighter, sharper and obviously bigger. Some have not set their brightness settings properly and have complained. Be careful about reports based on a quick appraisals of this phone. It took me two days to discover the correct screen settings for me. But turning up the brightness causes me to be dazzled. I'm not joking. I keep mentioning Note 7 - because that was my real reference point. Note 7 was Amoled. ZF3U is IPS. So why am I so impressed? Because it is truly better than Note 7 screen in my overall interactions. The down side of IPS is that viewing angles from the side are not great. So if you want to show stuff to people sitting more than 45 degrees on either side behind you, then they will see a slightly dimmer image than the lovely crisp goodness that you see, in adaptive brightness mode. However, you could just crank the brightness all the way up and dazzle a few people!! LOL. It's about show-factor for some people. As I've said before in this forum, it is about personal choice. For me, I don't like people darting their eyes over at my phone - and I do catch um doing this on trains etc - so the IPS screen is great for me. They're now most unlikely to see much from their usual vantage points. People in and around big cities here in the UK claim to be minding their own business. I don't believe them! But I'll give a little story. I gave my phone to a young lady to play with for about 10 minutes. She got on to YouTube, webpages and some games. She suddenly burst out, "This thing is so bright colourful and sharp. I love it!" And.. and.. she is a dedicated Samsung Note 4 user which has a very nice big bright screen. A couple days ago, I had the ZF3U nearby but in a power saving mode (where networks power down after a few minutes). I didn't use it for 10 hours that day cuz I was doing most stuff on the computer. Total juice used: 2%. That's what I call lovely. I never got that with any Samsung phone. There have been so many gripes about bloatware. But actually I had more bloatware from Samsung than on ZF3U. Well I have no argument with people who want to pay more for a higher spec phone. All I can say is that in practical use of this phone, its components work so well together that I'm blown away. LOL.

  • 92 mp in hdr mode

  • 8 CPUs low specs, how about LG V20,only running @ 4 CPUs? Are you mad?

  • Hi. How about the camera and video features? Is it good?

  • I read that it was 4k on asus.com. Also takes 4k pictures (92 MP), not 23 MP

  • may i know more about the quality of the screen? how is watching movies and surfing the net on it? thanks

  • no aptx !!?????

  • India launching/availability date?? Anyone knows? Have been waiting long.

  • I'm back to shout about the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra. Apologies to those who may be offended. I mean no offence. There has been much preoccupation about how the specifications on the Zenfone 3 Ultra are less than on other models of Asus phones or other brands of phones. It is a fact that the 3 Ultra has less grunt based on raw specs. However, I urge all to consider how the specifications in this phone works together to give an experience. Keep in mind that I came to this phone very sceptical, as I too used to rely heavily on specifications on RAM, camera power, CPU power, and other processors. That sort of thinking led me to purchase the hottest phone in history namely the ill-fated Samsung Note 7 - which was so hot that it exploded, brought down planes and caught vehicles on fire etc. LOL [JTBC - I'm well aware that Note 7 is out of the picture and not for sale from retail outlets.] Note 7 was/is a much higher specification of phone than Zenfone 3 Ultra and I'm not going to debate S-pens etc. However, as a former Note 7 user, I'm loving the Zenfone 3 Ultra far more. I didn't expect to be saying this. In gaming and other everyday uses of the 3 Ultra, I am actually much happier. I experience no performance under-runs relative to Note 7. I've now forgotten about Antutu scores. What's my main point? Specification is not everything. It's about how a phone is put together i.e. how it uses what's on board. It's about synergy of the components. That's something you'll be unlikely to learn about by just looking at specs. It also very much depends on individual needs. If some people like paying more for the joy of holding a device with rear-kicking specs, certainly find something higher end. If other people wish to unstick from raw specs and enjoy a phone that will do everything that a higher spec phone with greater grunt will do, (excepting things like S-pen) then think about the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra. My view here should be taken together with my other assessments posted in this forum.

  • This phone Asus zen3 ultra zu680kl is absolutely awesome!!! In all aspects.

  • Nope i didn"t got any answer about the LTE bands signal,😞

  • Lower specs? Are you kidding me? The Zenfone 3 Deluxe has way more powerful Snapdragon 821 processor, 6 GB RAM and 4K video recording capability.

  • Whats more impt RAM or CPU and whats the difference? Ultra vs Deluxe Battery Video Cpu Ram

  • Did anyone answer your ZENFONE 3 ULTRA ATT Question? It's the only thing preventing me from buying it.

  • Anyone using ATT got any LTE 4G connection problems? Before I buy it.

  • @Max Your opinion is harsh bordering on insulting. Zenfone 3 Deluxe is indeed a very fine phone. It is expected to be better than the Zenfone 3 Ultra for some. People have different individual needs and preferences. They are entitled to use their brains which may well be 'in the right place', to choose any phone that suits their needs or circumstances. JTBC - I've only been shouting about the Zenfone 3 Ultra because it suits my personal requirements. I was careful to outline those preferences/needs in 6 numerated points. I recommended it on the basis of those sharing similar preferences/needs.

  • that phone is lower spec why would anyone want it

  • Thank you for your reply! And detailed information on the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra! Really nice to read such a detailed review! Best Regards!

  • Anyone with his brain in right place would pay a little more and buy a Zenfone 3 Deluxe instead of this phone.

  • @Mary (some more) I have no complaints on voice quality and I've been spending a whole lot more on the this phone using the mobile/cellular network. I wonder if some people have not updated their Android via ASUS. I've received 3 updates in the last fortnight - and on each occasion I can feel the phone working sweeter and sweeter. Skype calls are just super brilliant!! Very clear indeed and I think this must be due to the sound processing technology in this phone. ASUS seems far more responsive than Samsung in their customer care. The so-called bloatware on the phone is actually to connect customers directly to their forums, help services, updates and call centres. It's been lovely. The fingerprint sensor is super fast. Noticeably faster than Note 7. I really don't miss Iris recognition. Touching the fingerprint sensor in sleep mode gets you in almost instantly. Power management options are also exciting. It probably was on a Samsung phone too - I don't know - but on ZF3ultra I can easily select an option to turn off internet networks after I put the phone to sleep (not turned off). I'm very happy with that, cuz it conserves power by avoiding the phone regularly using juice to keep live internet connections. And for me - I don't like being disturbed by emails and chat messages coming in at certain times. Of course this feature is optional and configurable to individual needs - so you can keep it in the default mode to receive stuff all the time. I like the option because when in sleep mode (with screen off - phone still on), I can see very easily how little juice it uses. I could leave this on sleep with internet off and it'll use only about 2% juice in a whole day - and still be able to receive regular calls. How lovely is that!! Very! Oh I forgot to add in my review that ZF3Ultra has an FM Radio to pick up digital stations! I love it. I only occasionally use the radio - but it's still a joy to have. And finally - WAZE - been using this as my SatNav when phone is placed in carphone holder, and I'm now jumping around for joy while at the steering wheel cuz it's so lovely!! (Joking of course). Ditched TomTom Mobile as it repeatedly failed to install. Waze works absolutely lovely on this phone - much better than on Note 7. The juicy big screen just works so well with Waze - colours are nice, view is sharp and no need to rock forward in your seat to see what's happening on Waze. Voice overs through Bluetooth from Waze are very clear. I apologise if I appear to be selling this phone. As I mentioned before I have no interest in ASUS and have no brand loyalty to any manufacturer of phones. I'm just so overjoyed with the ASUS Zenfone 3 Ultra that I have to shout about it. It recently won over the competition in one showdown here: (cut and paste to browser or search Gagetmatch channel on YouTube).

  • @Mary Yes of course. My experience is overwhelmingly good on voice calls. Keep in mind that I defected from Samsung phones after several years!! I'll give my experience. Speakerphone conversation: Loud - very loud. Very clear. No lag on either side of conversation (and I used to get some lag with the Note 7 - good riddance.) In fact speakerphone is so loud and juicy that you feel the other person is in the room with you. Voice sounds very natural. I also use the Zenfone 3 ultra handsfree on Bluetooth connection in my car. Again this is overwhelmingly lovely compared to Note 7 or any other Samsung I've had. No microsecond lag, that you might normally live with and think that it's due to poor signal. It's not poor signal, I discovered. It's phones that struggle cope with voice to and fro. Well Zenfone 3 Ultra is the master of voice and sound. This thing more than copes. It's got reserve power. Note 7 was fussy about connecting to Bluetooth in the car even when I listed the car as a trusted connection. No such hassles with ZF3Ultra.

  • Why there's no review of the zenfone 3 ? ultra? deluxe? Are top phones available since settember , but other lower brands are quickly reviewed instead . I believe it's not fair talking all day about xiaomi samsung sony and others

  • Hello! Have you tried conversation over the speakerphone? Do people on the other side hear you? I have read complaints about this - that when talking over the speakerphone, people on the other side can't hear you. Have you tried this, If not, please try and reply. I like this phone and want to buy, but this thing worries me. Thank you!

  • Speaking frankly. An uppermost midrange class Taphlet(above 5.7-6.99 inches phablet!),with quite high design, features, and features in midrange, and drop of price as I see on my left side device...64 GB+4GB inside plus external memory is a good choice for those whom can afford it based on freedom of choice....Waiting for the complete gsmArena review!!?Justice Rights....

  • Be sure to see what owners of the previous generation Zenfone 2 have to say before making any decision... And ASUS's own Zenfone 2 forums...

  • Very well said and comprehensive,i have decided on this phone.

  • A lot of folk do not really understand the ZUK680KL. I can say this having viewed every YouTube video (in English) and having read over 30 online reviews. I decided to purchase and it arrived in my hands 5 days ago. Oh what an experience - and pretty different to much of the negative sentiment on this phone. For sure no phone will suit everybody. This phone is no longer in the class of 'phablet' which is phone growing into tablet range. This is now a proper 'tabphone' - a tablet that has become a phone. If like me, you: 1. Like a truly generous screen size. 2. Like viewing lots of photo and video content. 3. Want excellent sound quality for phone conversations, skype or music 4. Enjoy occasional games on your phone 5. Are not too fussed about S-pens (like on some Samsung Note models) 6. Want a truly responsive organisation behind your phone. - then this could be the phone for you. Some folk have not understood how to adjust the phone's setting for their needs and have drawn wrong conclusions. This phone is a new direction. Yes - people will complain it's too big, just as they did when Samsung launched the Note 2, then the Note 4 etc. All the complaining has stopped on large phablets in the last few years. I saw many tiny oriental girls walking around London happily enjoying their large phablets. So, I have to wonder if hand size in the UK has increased. LOL. Asus has married the hardware very nicely to the software. The phone has worked better than the Note 7 for me - bye bye Samsung!! This phone is far better value for money than similar competition, for folk with my sort of needs. [It came to me with a proper UK charger - for folk in the UK who need to know - but do check with your supplier, if you intend to purchase.] Some will look at Antutu scores on YouTube vids and think this is a weak phone - it isn't!! It just works the SnapDragon 652 processor more synergistically - so no need for a powerhouse like an iPhone 7. But it's fine if people wanna pay far more to feel good. I like spending on something that is a reasonable balance between price and quality - so that's why I got it. I made a mistake in purchasing Note 7 - which was so hot, that it caused fires. The camera is a joy. I can't actually see a difference between photo quality on the ZUK680L comparing it to Samsung Note 7. Video quality is superb. I have not been left wanting more. The rear camera features are much more and very easy to navigate. You're really spoilt for choice with options but these are not presented in a confusing way. The front camera is just fine - ignore the critics. I was well surprised by the video and sound quality, having viewed the several reviews I mentioned above. The screen is bright and rich in colour. Viewing is sharp and pleasing to my eyes. I don't miss my Note 7 at all!! I like to play NFS occasionally and it's just lovely - no glitches, no freezing up, no stuttering of video - just brilliant. Asus has really put their heads to the issue of sound quality. You just have to hear the sound to understand - I can't explain sound in this report. This thing beats back any Samsung phone I've had over the last 10 years on sound - all sorts of sound. The Asus headphones are well matched to this phone. Headphones fit very well in the ear. This is not a cheap looking or sounding pair of headphones. I've heard stuff in the music that I had not appreciated on any other phone I've owned. The sound in movies is truly cinematic - I really can't explain this either. It's something to experience - it's mind blowing - shockingly and delightfully exciting! I'm not joking or exaggerating. This is a dual-sim phone. The first sim slot is for a sim (obviously). The second sim slot can hold another sim or micro-SD card memory expansion up to 4TB (on SD cards that haven't been invented as yet). There are ways of using the second sim slot as both a sim and an SD card expansion so you'd have 2 sims and memory card all working at the same time (YouTube is your friend - but I am not recommending this as, I don't know if this would void a warranty). There have been complaints about bloatware. This is from people who do not understand what Asus is trying to achieve. They've provided some really good software that maximises the use of the tabphone - and ease of use with your desktop or laptop. So I do not see this as bloatware. It's a heavy phone - 235g - but I didn't suffer any cramps lifting it. LOL. It's important to get a really sound case that provides the best protection. The bigger they are, the harder they fall. The corners and screen are likely to suffer first in any fall. [Avoid cheap cases that originate in the far east - had one and returned it for a refund]. BeCool provides a good glass screen protection - got it - fits easily and no problems. Of course, I don't intend to do a drop test. I don't work for Asus and I have nothing against Samsung or any other phone-maker. I'm now just a hopeless addict for this phone and ama shouting about it!! So, do forgive me. [DISCLAIMER: NO guarantee of satisfaction or performance is provided in making this review. No liability accepted for any inadvertent errors above. I have not been paid to make this review. I hold no pecuniary interests in Asus, and do not intend to in the future.]

  • Where did you buy your phone from?

  • Thats right. Despite rumors and my hesitation so i bought the phone as well. All i can say that its true...some claim that they dont have that problem though...strange... Now that i have the phone in my hand and iam calling around people...turning on and off the speakerphone on conversations.. As soon as the speaker phone is on.... people are screaming...are you there?.... lost u!....Can`t hear you...blablablabla... Damn disappointed. I mean really to all of you out there ...probably who is interested for this phone; has the common things.. namely... All we wanted ..that we needed a bigger screen combined with good specs. But nobody want such extrem flaw in a phone that priced that much. I would like to describe Asus with simple meaning: A ridiculous company that exaggerates itself.

  • Asus should understand the niche of Indian market, after releasing asus zenfone 3 ultra way back in May. If Asus does does not make this phablet available in the Indian market at the earliest it will loose against its competitors. Its a hell lot of waiting period for this phablet in the Indian market.

  • Its true... I recently bought this phone... And now it start giving me a problem... The speakerphone malfunction just like qhat u said... Poeple on the other side cant hear us... And now the I cant charge the phone... Its not connected! Really upset and regret!

  • Hi, i would like to know anyone using this phone in Canada on rogers LTE network and did you have any problems with the LTE signal? Thanks

  • Does this phone work with AT&T's 4G LTE in the United States?

  • This device seems a well designed phablet for those who find good use of a combo, light and powerful multimedia handset. It very well replaces a high end tablet and an alternative phone. There are hundreds of thousands who are just waiting for it to be availble. Millions would grab if priced correctly. Surprising to see why Asus does not recognise this market niche ? It is over six months and not yet easily available !

  • GSMArena wrote that it has a infrared port, but it doesn't. It has a IR sensor for the camera but not for controling some IR devices, for example TV, dSLR and such... As LG G3, G4 and G5 has IR so that you can control these devices. Is that true? Thanks! :)

  • Did you purchase your ultra in an online store? If yes, appreciate if you can please share the link. Thanks advance

  • Nice comment! I was about to get this phone yesterday but I was informed about the pre ordering of the LG V20 that would give me a chance to own a 200GB micro sd slot and an extra battery. I was really after the size of this phone but when I saw the price, it's on the same category as the V20 already and when I got a chance to see the LG's device I was shocked at the way it performed! So fast and the screen is fantastic! The camera is great and the freebies are hard to resist! If only Asus made the price a little cheaper than the V20, I could have chosen it over LG.

  • Could you please check the auto focusing between the close subject and far away subject continuously? I found 2 video in the youtube that zenfone 3 ultra is frequently stuck the focus to the subject. please check this video 3.05 12.23

  • How do you charge your v10's extra battery?

  • Really grateful for writing here,i will take note of all your points. i will consolidate all pros and cons on both devices, and will make a final decision in November. More opinions are most welcome.

  • I just held the Asus Zebfone 3Ultra in my hands a few minutes ago. What can I say...its a pocketful of screen...cosmetically its simple, and nothing that will blow you away. But the screen, that's another thing...I was secretly wishing that other makes came with the same screen size. Being 6.8" diagonally, its close to a 7" tablet and could be a useful toy on flights. Camera is fast and took great image which I snapped very casually. I liked the end result and the colors. Ditto for videos I watched on youtube. And the sound quality of the speakers was not bad; so you should be able to enjoy your videos satisfactorily. Additionally, Its dual sim, NFC, Infra Red and has a huge battery to power its way through the day. One function, that I certainly did not like was the volume rocker that's located on the back of the phone. Having experienced how inconvenient it can be with my LGV10, side volume rockers are any time more convenient and practical. I'm currently using a LG-V10 and am thoroughly thoroughly happy with it - even though the battery gets eaten to 50% by midday. For that, I carry an extra battery and have no probs with getting through the day. I'm not a heavy user but yes I do click pictures for my work and listen to a lot of music. Its also tethered to my LG Urbane LTE wrist watch. My main reason for clinging on to my V10 is the HIFI DAC chip that treats me to high fidelity music which no other phone comes close to, and two, the excellent excellent camera with laser focus and OIS; not to mention the IPS screen is vivid and sharp, complementing every picture that's taken on it. Despite Asus' Zenphone 3 Ultra screen size being bigger than the LG-V20, I would go in for the V20 without a doubt - that's a no brainer. The camera has been upgraded too. I'm eagerly waiting to have it in my hands.

  • If only the memory card slot is dedicated.

  • Very helpful information,i only have one budget and only one choice to decide, either Ultra or LG V20. This is critical,If i pick the wrong one,i can't afford further. So like to hear from more ultra users here of the advantages and disadvantages. Your opinions here will be a great help to me to decide whether ultra or LG V20. I have a month to consider,as v20 will only be available in November,so please help me to decide, your feedback/comments will be grateful. i repeat this again, this is very critical decision,i can't afford to regret if i pick the wrong one, because i only have one budget. Please help.

  • Thank you so much :)

  • After having both phones (mi max and zenfone 3 Ultra) for 3 weeks I guess, I could really really say that the Mi Max is way way below than the Zenfone 3 Ultra. The higher price tag of the zenfone 3 Ultra is quite justified once you start using it. Definitely it is really a premium phone thus you need to pay a premium price if you want it.

  • Definitely the Asus zenfone 3 Ultra has a better camera compared to the Mi Max.

  • I am considering a Mimax or this Zenfone Ultra since you have both which is better. My maine purpose is a camera phone. hope you could help.Right now using s7 edge but i need a bigger screeen as my eyes are pretty bad.

  • I've had mine (4gb & 64gb)a couple of weeks now (this has replaced my Samsung Note 3, which looks tiny in comparison to this huge beast of a phablet) and am hugely impressed with the build quality and usability of the ultra. It is huge and when I first opened the box I did think I'd maybe gotten a bit carried away with the whole big screen thing. However, 2 weeks later and can well and truly say that I'm now used to the size (and now only feel a little bit ridiculous talking on the phone in public) and am extremely happy with the purchase. The large screen is amazing, the sound is excellent, battery life is 1 day plus with heavy usage. No software issues whatsoever. It has handled everything thrown at it so far (games, streaming movies, etc) with ease. Just a good sized nearly 7 inch tablet that happens to have (also very good) telephony capabilities. Highly recommended for big screen lovers (note:must have reasonably sized hands to handle!!!).

  • Please asus......just mend few mistakes 1 please improve battery 2 include stylus as needed in such a huge phone like this 3 a dedicated slot for microSD card I m really big fan of huge phones.....and 6.8 is I guess maximum u can get....so ur efforts are really appreciable.....just plz take care of few things mentioned above and no phone can compete zenfone 3 ultra

  • Asus launched another flop in India ...Zenfone 3 ultra . Keep it up. You have lost touch after Zenfone 2 series.

  • its really imagine phone looking awesomes

  • Right. Huawei P8 Max is very similar to ZU680kl due to its body scale and specs. P8mx=182.7x93x6.8mm vs z3ultra=186.4x93.9x6.8mm.Very impressed by their thinness.Equal screen sizes and just a few gram differences 228g vs ultras 233g. P8Max Batterys capacity is close to asus 3 ultra. P8MX has better cpu. But iam in this phones orbit becuase of its camera which is better (23 vs 16 megapix.) Now, one thing bothers me about Asus zenfone 3 ultra is that.. ALLEGEDLY >>> .. this phone has software issue and seriously its speakerphones are malfunctioning! That people on the other side cannot hear asus zen3 ultra user when speakerphone is on and thats because of its michrophones automatic deactivation. If that is the case please could some of you who bought this phone give a try the on a conference call and reply here if that is true or not.

  • You are forgetting Huawei P8 Max, it is still going strong with me after a year. I am thinking of upgrading to it but it is not that tempting yet.

  • Xiaomi don't have HDMI connection by mhl or skimpier adaptors. Somebody know about the DAC quality of the mi max?

  • Unless you absolutely want a screen bigger than the Mi Max's 6.4", I'd say go for the Mi Max. The Zenfone 3 Ultra is WAAAAY overpriced for what it has to offer (almost equal to Mi Max in specs, features and build quality). Get a 64 GB or 128 GB Mi Max at half the price of the Zenfone 3 Ultra. You won't regret choosing the Mi Max over this overpriced phone. What was Asus thinking? If this were only slightly higher in price than the Mi Max, then I would definitely recommend this over the Mi Max for those who want a screen size bigger than 6.4", but at two times the price of the Mi Max? Forget it. Not worth double the Mi Max price.

  • It's 1 of the most overpriced phone in the market. Look at their zenfone zoom, price drop to less than half in less than 6mths since the launching, it's now reflect sort of the actual price, still it will go down further. So don't fall for the same mistake as the zoom owner. You can get a far more better phone at this price. It should only be price about the same to mi max as the both offer 99% of the same specs. Or maybe some ppl just like to pay more so they feel the are above the average. BTW Asus phones always come with lousy cameras, you will note that in low light or movement.

  • Did you get the 64GB for that P29,432 or was it 128GB? Is the 128GB even on sale anywhere yet?

  • Here in Manila I got mine yesterday at Voice Solutions in Theater Mall, Greenhills. So far, they are the cheapest that I found with the Asus warranty. I got mine for P29,432. If you go to the mall, the SRP is P32,995. I could really say that it was worth the premium price I paid for it. Before I bought it, I was so hesitant to pay for more than 25k for it. So, I settled for the Xiaomi Mi Max. A day after having the Mi Max I still wanted to buy the Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra. I thought the Mi Max was big enough already but I wanted a much bigger one. The 6.8" size of the Ultra is just perfect for me. It's really the size that I want for a "phablet." Watching Youtube & Netflix on the Ultra is a such a treat. The sound quality of the speakers is much better than all the gadgets (iphone, samsung tablet, ipad) I owned before. The only downside I have noticed with the zenfone 3 Ultra is the camera on lowlight. It's not as good as my LG V10 camera and my Iphone 6 Plus. But, It's not a big deal for me because I am not using it as my main camera phone. I still prefer my LG V10 for all my photo requirements. If you really like the social media, You Tube and movies, this phablet is really a must-have for you. After spending almost 15k for the Mimax, I have no regrets spending another almost 30k for the Zenfone 3 Ultra. It was really the phone I wanted when I first saw it on photo and video months ago. I'm glad I really pushed for it. Now, my techie side is very much satisfied with this phablet. Next obsession will be the LG V20.

  • I bought the Asus to see if it would be any better than my big screen Sony Xperia Z Ultra, which I love, but which is also 3.5 years old. The Asus build quality is excellent, and it is just as pocketable as the Sony. However, the Sony remains one of the high points in industrial design as applied to phones, so I'm going to keep using it. The Asus is functionally equivalent to me, but the Sony is still cooler.

  • Hi Durrani, Where do you live? I am in Australia. I checked the digital discount website but couldn't find it. How is the film recording stabilizer quality? Cheers

  • Best phone ever had bought from digital discount best place to buy from v very good camera screen battery all around.put my giffgaff SIM work perfect

  • Built quality is full metal, Pros: Super crisp rear camera very detail even you zoom in picture quality not degrade. Screen color is excellent is look super amoled, Sound quality very crisp and loud, Gaming exeperience very smooth zero lag, Massive battery Cons: Front camera below average, not so good for selfie, low quality sensor its look like 2mp not 8mp, i think asus made interpolated @ front camera.... It's has black bezel side by side @screen, Ui it's just a little bit lag, when you scroll left and right you notice occassionally lag... I hope asus will fix it..

  • There are four 1.8 cores and four 1.4 cores

  • I saw one for sale already at the mall last monday 9/5/16 . box is sealed, no display of the unit, price is 32k+. Pricey.

  • cpu 1x 1,8 Ghz explain to me?

  • yes it is cheaper because it uses cheaper parts, Qualcom is best compared with other processors....

  • You don't understand XA is not Hi Resolution audio its sounds like a crap and the screen is not 4k, the head set is also hi rest, I think you did not know anything about the two, try to buy first and used it. Compare the camera, Asus camera for this product is superb as compared with low quality XA, hahahaha. I'm not against Sony because I bought Xperia Z5 Premium and M5 both products have good camera quality.

  • The 8.4 inches Huawei M3 with H. Kardon speakers is far better than this phone and the price is cheaper!

  • mi max is better than this in all aspects dont buy this shit very high price mobile. go for mi max

  • i don't have this phone ......but hope it will good......................

  • I m sure it would. I am using ZenFone zoom and has no problems on AT & T.

  • Since its release.. i have been comparing this phone with other leading phones... However its cpu its not maximum as that would be desired like snappd820; so that doesnt mean that thats it. When we review this in whole we can see that in fact there is no any other phone which is even in close proximity. E.g the 6.8 screen combination with 23 mp camera , further more 140% more audio, 4600 MAh massive battery, and still 4 GB RAM, also after all > Octa core 4x1.8+4x1.4 snappdragon 652 is absolutly making this phone much more ahead then all phones. Thats why its price is very reasonable. Surprisingly cheaper than the junk phones such as galaxy and note sevens which goes backwards like reducing cams etc. or latest iphones with only focus to central processors as if else specs are less important thing which obviously consumers all around are persuaded.

  • Really people? Look for the tech reviews...this phone has EXCELLENT speakers, a great camera by Sony, zero lag, a huge, bright and clear screen with a premium build. I had a Sony ultra..nice but had a pathetic camera. I'm leaving laggy Samsung note 7 for this...and the mi max is much cheaper build equality. Also, this is not the cheaper 3gb/32 ...this is 4gb/64 and it still has 51+ gb of storage available. Just bought it.

  • A phone reviewer in India cried out: “Mad pricing”. A Hong Kong phone reviewer opined that his phone Wi Fi reception is not good – less than 50%. It is better to shop around before buying this phone.

  • Probably after 6 month :D If you look at the trend on how they release multiple versions of the same product, they don't release it all at the same time and there will be usually months of gap in between the releases.

  • Local $ is so much more than the published US$ pricing. Wrong math, Asus. That kinda pricing should at least come with a better screen like AMOLED.

  • Asus phones good but draw back is hybrid dual SIM options please change ,not give memory card slot option.it provides memory card slot option.not only Asus phones now days all phones are not given memory card slot

  • I really want this phone. But I need 128 GB version. Anyone know when the 128 GB version is released?

  • Where did you get your Mi Max from? Stop buying from unknowns to save a few bucks, then complain when you cannot make it work. The Mi Max is the best phone over 6" this year cos of battery life, price, performance and overall quality. It is beast indeed. I migrated from Samsung after 8 years and 12 different Samsung phones, they lost me with the Note 5 and its irreplaceable battery. You will have excellent online support for Samsung phones, but, the Mi Max community is excellent too/ The phone is so good that I've not rooted it yet cos it has such excellent in-built apps. Hope you can return yours and get another Mi Max with a global ROM. I ponder to buy another Mi Max daily, but, I have the 128Gb, 4Gb Ram variant. Cheers

  • Will this runs on ATT 4G ?

  • I think Honor Note 8 is better......

  • Asus Zenfone Max. recently shift to this brand Proven to be best than any. Phone is what we need and not a brand. God Speed

  • hi can anyone help me to choose android phone. which android phone is d best for gaming no lag battery goodlife n great camera 10k below price?. thanks :)

  • I would like to ask when is the exact launch date of Zenphone ULTRA here in the Philippines. I am waiting for the price range of this phone.I really want to buy.Thank you! :)

  • Most phone reviewers are not happy with the fact that this phone loaded a lot bloatwares leaving little space available. Please note that the 4GB rams installed in this phone is DDR3, not the faster DDR4 installed in Huawei Note 8 phone.

  • Change hybrid SIM slot

  • Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra is very highly priced compared to the Indian market trend. Asus Co. should bring down the price because at lower prices better Mobiles are available in market.

  • Well they said it was going to cost $479 now u see it for $700 do they think it's going to sell with that high price and other manufacturers are almost 1/2 price

  • Taiwan HTC has just reduced some of its top phones price by USD100.00. Asus has ignored the market trend?

  • Every second Xiaomi max has bugs. I have bought one. And next week gonna send it back because I can see my contacts.

  • I wish it be cheaper. As competition is out there as U know. I buy the best in feature on best possible price... Thanks might think is price is down or buy some other. I need two mobile. Not at this price. I can buy full hd 4k TV at this price.

  • sorry but i'll go for One Plus 3 instead..so disappointed in your pricing. :(

  • who will buy this insanely priced phone ? It should have been priced at around $350 to compete with mi max , mate 8 etc. Well i would avoid buying it.

  • Go buy yourself a 7 inch tablet. 0.2 inches extra wont harm :)

  • In its 1st.introduce in computex $499/$479/$249, bullcrap zenvolution where we could get your pricing, as it is release pricing is to way high,Mr.Johnny where is the saying Is It Increble wahahaha

  • Wow and I thought it's just the size of this phone which is outrageous, damn even the price of this phone is outrageous. No wonder it would fail miserably in market.

  • No,don't strain my eyes,i love 6.8",this is the best of the best.

  • Avoid this unreasonably expensive phone, buy phone with better specs and much cheaper price such as ZTE Axon 7 or Huawei Note 8.

  • wanna see this device come out with 5.2" - 5.5" intel inside quad core 64bit. LTE 5g bands

  • I am also waiting for that device expecting September first week may be otherwise they won't release in India

  • Please let me know when that pacific model is available.

  • No one will buy this phone its tooooooo pricy..mi max getting 128G/4GB ram for 19999....but not yet released in India

  • Yes,haha agree with you,just waiting only.

  • If it has hybrid slot for sims, then I will not buy it.

  • The less people the don't buy hopefully the quicker the price will drop.....there comes my Christmas present

  • Asus is the best, but now why it so high the price.its better to buy 1+ or other..plese make the price low

  • The price of this mid level CPU phone is too expensive. It will affect the sale of this phone And other Asus products as well.

  • looks like the 4gb ram version is going to be too expensive... the 3gb/32gb combo might be the better option which is supposed to be at 479$... i have a samsung evo select 256gb microsd card so i won't need the extra memory but 1gb extra ram will be missed... i am purely getting it for the 4k tv grade chip it has and the screen size...

  • The price of this Asus phone is ridiculous. Who did the pricing of Zenfone 3? For sure their sales and market share will drop because of the price. I would rather buy the Xperia XA Ultra than this one and it is built by Sony.

  • Well, I'll give you the price for you to decide. Zenfone 3 Ultra 4GB/64GB with SD652 cost RM2599 I personally think the pricing is wrong.

  • Very good multimedia

  • Is it really worth the price...

  • Dearest friend. No problems at all!I myself am happy that those whom may have Asus 3 ultraand Xiaomie Max enjoy their high qualities according to their pockets money!I wish them the always the best*good luck. Thanks dear friend.Justice Rights.Omid12omidvar.

  • Sorry to tell you that Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra is 2 or 3 times the price of Mi Max. So sorry to spoil your dream.

  • For this event, I have spent RM23 for the parking @_@ The door gifts and selfie stick aren't enough to compensate my broken heart, I wait for this about 3 months.

  • Dearest readers. One of the upper midrange Taphlet is Asus 3 ultra with logical design, performance, features according to the specifications written here.Happily,Taphlet contests of brands are very bot the increases 3 Ultra beauties in positive arena contests!I myself, following factwritings,I see no major flaws in it!Hopefully, price is logical in competition with affordable high quality Xiaomie Max Taphlet(5.7 to 6.9 is calling Taphlet from students!!)Of course, happily,Asus is doing very well recently with Samsung,Huawei, xiomie,LG,etc. Thanks all mentioned and unmentioned names.waiting for its gsmArena review!Justice Rights.Omid12omidvar.

  • lucky we still have Door Gift during the event. Otherwise, waste my travel time 1 hours take LRT to KLCC

  • Very disappointed with the pricing of this device.

  • Honestly guys, you have to be nuts to buy 1 of these, it is priced at RM2599 @_@ I felt like a sucker and dumb to attend the event yesterday.

  • Go for the zenfone 3 ultra, bigger is better. I don't care how nice specs a phone has, if the screen size is too small for me I won't buy it.

  • Asus Zenfone 3 Max, please how much is this fon

  • Where is the ir sensor ? i cant see it ...

  • No NFC?

  • What......no stylus?

  • Go for the highest specs rather than famous brand...

  • true

  • Too expensive almost priced with s7 edge as posted in expansys tw

  • if the price of both phone is closer to each other why don't you just pick the higher specs, much better right,

  • in snapdragon normally when one of your sim is 4g the other one will go to 2g but you can change what sim use 4g anytime you want

  • This phone is too pricey. It is better to buy the Huawei H. Note 8 with a powerful cpu and substantially low price - CNY2300 only.

  • That's what I'm asking, I just got a new job and I've set my sights on the ZF3 Ultra

  • very nice phone.my next mobile although I am using ze550kl.I am really satisfied to asus.

  • home button and fingerprint

  • Can both sims use 3G or 4G or is it only available to 1 sim and other is restricted to 2G.

  • Stubid home buttun like samsung mobile

  • I am a user of a tablet and a smartphone. I am using Lumia 640 XL as my smartphone made by Microsoft and my tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4. Since Android is a lot more fun to use, I am now used to using a bigger screen. Whenever I use my phone, I feel like it is already too small at 5.7 inches. Though I also use my tablet as a phone, I am looking for a device that is still more handy and I find this as my daily driver soon! The price according to my cousin who is a distributor of Asus phones and laptops here in the Philippines is that this will cost 30,000.00 Php. It is definitely expensive than the $479 pricing mentioned but that is due to the fact that I will get a 256GB internal storage! That is the only variant the Philippines will get I think that us why the price is nearly at $640. Can't wait to have it soon!

  • when it is available in USA, what is the price

  • Hello guys, i want to ask the opinion about Zenfone 3. Should i go with Zenfone 3 Deluxe or Zenfone 3 Ultra? I know it has different specification between these two. But, price was so close. Only few buck different. Please help me guys.

  • This phone is always best

  • tomorrow

  • i want this phone

  • sowhat

  • i am waiting for this mobile nice specification

  • when it is available in Saudi Arabia?

  • Been using p9 plus for about a week now. Amazing phone with outstanding camera and blazing performance and most importantly the battery is amazing. My first Huawei phone after Samsung s7 edge, LG v10 and lots of others.

  • Is it available anywhere yet? waiting for this site to review it...

  • when it is available in Dubai?

  • They intro Z3U is 479$ , but in Vietnam open day they sold is 623$ . They lie .

  • Seems to have everything, but no NFC is a big mistake. These day NFC is so often used during shopping.

  • Dearest readers.Usually nowadays,up to 5 inches is called smartphone, from 5.5 to 5.7 is called phablet and after that like this upper Asus model is called TAPHLET!!I read the Asus 3 ultra specifications here.It must be in upper midrange high category.I don't have access to it now,but I will test it in the lab. However, gsmArena,s complete review with its grand lab is much more important.I received a mail today from Asus considering spammers phishers attacks(even now!!!)which is a good news to prevent them and protect the security of users through OTA updates and upgrades!!Thanks all the mentioned names.Justice Rights.Omid12omidvar.Only Hope.

  • which is the best p9 plus or zenfonr 3

  • Release date??!

  • Can you share how you use those tablets as phones? Thanks

  • *correction* my x2 DOESNT work on US att 4g network.

  • used to have samsung note... I have a huawei mediapad x2 right now (7" phablet). im so in love with the larger phones now. I have an unlimited data plan and I use this phone for fb & web surfing mostly so a big screen and battery are sooooo worth it. this x2 just barely fits in my pocket too so I imagine the asus zen 3 would work perfectly also. only complaints--(1)my x2 camera sucks unless lighting is good... I miss the good photos from my older samsung phone.. I would check reviews closely for these non typical phone brands camera quality. (2) my x2 is a 4g phablet but does work on att 4g due to frequencies or bands used... im using h+ network and its good enough.. but check which services and Which freqs the zen 3 will work with or you might be disappointed. if I find out this works on US att 4g, imma buy it!

  • When this will be available in Hongkong? Anyone who knows?

  • Nothing wrong with the size, I have both the 6.4" Sony Z Ultra and the 8" Sony Z3 Tablet Compact and use both as phones, the 8" tablet is especially good for using as a phone, should be alot more tablets that can be used as a phone.

  • Also no NFC for this one?

  • Hi I had a 8inch Asus fonepad 8...its a phone....just fyi...

  • Release date July 12 can't wait

  • I third that

  • when I can buy asus zenfone 3 ultra zu680kl?

  • release date for asia is july 12 then.

  • release date for asia is july 12 then.

  • I have a galaxy W, a 7 inch smartphone, in South Korea. I love the screen size, but it has gotten a bit slow after 2 years of use. The camera is just okay as well. I plan to upgrade to the zenfone 3 ultra, mostly because of the camera, fingerprint, and battery. I plan to buy it as soon as it comes out! Large phones are the best!

  • I third that

  • Dude listen my 24inch pc monitor is full hd and very crispy now imagine with 6.8" how good it will be.

  • Great comment bro, totally agree with you thx

  • 5 inch-above = Phone 5-6.9 inch = Phablet 7 inch-more = Tablet. There its no 7 inch phone.

  • I agreee. If you are going to go big go real big. Small screens are horrible for viewing content. I don't want to carry a magnifying glass with me wherever I go. I thought a 5 inch phone would be good for reading webpages, and watching videos but I was wrong. Now I am wishing I had a 7 inch phone.

  • I second that.

  • I agree with you. The bigger battery would make it even better.

  • That would drive the price up way too much and many people would not buy it due to the high cost.

  • That resolution will really save you a whole lot of battery. It a resolution that size is very good. You will not see one pixel.

  • when will it be release i can't freaking wait!!!!!!

  • 6.8" screen but only 1080x1920 ? come on.... make it 1440x2560 or more...

  • Will it support VoLTE?

  • you need to refer to the game settings...some times some games jammed your phone but not the phone problem...i'm use zenfone 6 for 2 years...never jammed as long i use it...but nearly...i play a new game...my zenfone 6 keep jammed...i try to uninstall that game then my phone keep normal as before...try it...

  • Very stunning and eye catching model. Kind of like the iphone with the bigger version. About US$479 can consider to buy. Massive spec and power packed especially the camera and the 4K TV grade. Hope it would not have any big issues. Not retail in Singapore yet. Haha, will take a look when it arrived. Check tis out at ASUS site

  • Along with the other opinions. NO BAND 17!!!!!!!!!!? Primary AT&T LTE band.

  • I wish this had the same power as the deluxe

  • I used zenfone 6,2 and zenpad for the last year.....for me every product in the world has bugs in them stuck, lagging and so on,don't care u buy expensive or cheaper one,for zenfone their doing fine keep it up and I will definitely buy the new ultra

  • I have a 7 inch pad phone at present and I have needed a new one for some time now, it fits okey in to my back pocket and I like the large screen. When I seen this new ASUS phone I said wow, then measured out the dimensions on a sheet of paper and folded it to the size of the phone and I am pleased to say this phone will fit in to all my pockets nicely. As for the battery if it is one of the very latest technology lithium iron phosphate battery's (polymer batteries) it will probably never need changing. Hope it can support a USB in/out audio interface. Hope they release the ZU680KL in Australia, at a competitive price very soon. Then a new phone will go into my pocket and not to much money will come out. I need a new phone.

  • i am big fan of asus

  • when phone will b avaiable i like this

  • This phone VOLTE enabled or Data only ?

  • i use asus from asus zenfone 5 first model, 1gb ram 8gb rom. untill now i use asus zenfone 2 4gb ram. but the phone problem is jamed.. when play games, the phone jamed, and i need restart the phone.

  • yup but the battery is almost the same

  • I have totally fallen in love with this phone, I hope will have them in Kenya soon.

  • I'm looking forward to buying this phone/tablet hybrid as soon as possible!

  • I think they should've placed a 5000mah battery in this baby. Does any 1 agree with me

  • I somewhat like this phone close to a tablet i wish the Ram would be 6Gig and internal capacity of 128 Gig Rom and the processor same as the zen phone ultra the battery is perfect considering the large screen size and the price ?

  • Promise is a comfort to a fool.

  • Any idea about the price and availability of the phone?

  • i want this phone!!!! i want this phone!!!! i want this phone!!!! i want this phone!!!!

  • Hope it can performance well, won't let us down.

  • if they sell it in a good price I will sell my p8 max to buy this phone its far better than p8 max

  • Guesses around 32k

  • Wow im really amazed by this asus zenfone 3 ultra.I would like to know the price of this phone.I do really love the features.Awesome!!!

  • good job asus!!

  • what is the price range of this new ASUS?

  • Galaxy A9(2016) has 4000mAh in a 7.4mm thick body and a 6.0'' screen. This one is way bigger an not so much thinner, so it's not impossible.

  • Do you mean whether the 4 / 128 GB is coming to Singapore? Because the microSD is obviously the same in all

  • Oooh... my God. Asus is my dream. I love that one. please ASUS do it for me. I need it

  • ¿4600mAh on 6.8mm? Impossible

  • Are 4gd ram 256 gb coming to singapore ?

  • price of zenfone 3 ultra & zenfone delux....?

  • i will be wating for this phone.

  • I cannot wait for this phone to come out! I am with you HumongousPhoneLover. I agree with you 100%.

  • I would love to get this phone! It is about time someone made a decent larger than 6 inch phablet. There is a huge void for a phone of this size in the US. I'm sure they will sell a lot of them. This 6.8 inch phone will fit in the pocket. I have gone into a store to look at phones sizes and test this. They had a 7 inch Blu phone that I temporarily placed in my pocket to see if it fit. A 7 INCH PHONE DOES FIT IN THE POCKET EASILY. A phone of this size does make the make the tablet unnecessary. I heard someone say "the phablet killed the tablet". Think about this way, it do you want to carry around a tablet and a phone, or just a phablet?

  • another super phone from Asus.. zenfone2 before and now we have 3..

  • I share the same view point. There should be 3 separate slot 2 for sim and 1 for memory card

  • I share the same view point

  • i agree with you brother ,the bigger the better, not everyday samsung or iphone with this phone there is more to it than any other phone,

  • can someone help me on how I can ship this phablet to South Africa or any other Phablet with good specifications

  • can someone help me on how can I ship this phone to South Africa,or any Asus phone

  • Any solid news on a US release? Asus's page on mentions a worldwide model, and it doesn't have support for AT&T's antenna bands.

  • I fully agree with you,i don't have to stress my eyes and feel tire. Entertainment-wise,all-in-one,people prefer bigger screen. Smaller screen is suitable for people using it as a basic phone function like calling/receiving,texting...that's all.

  • Agree

  • The bigger the phone the better What a Big Screen Gives You: -You can see more content on web sites while browsing. -You will see a few more lines on social networks, like viewing some extra tweets on your timeline. -Needless to say, movies and photos look better on a bigger screen. -Games look bigger and better, and the game's buttons are bigger and easier to press. -Tapping, in general, is a more accurate experience. Whether you are typing on the keyboard or trying to tap the correct link among three closely-spaced URLs, you are more likely to get it right on these big screens.

  • Ram is not 3/4gb!

  • Asus Zenfone 3 Ultra ZU680KL is great but if i have 2 sim in time no memory card???????? same as mate7??????????

  • Agree

  • What is meant by dual speakers,i can't see a pair of stereo speakers in front of the screen.

  • That's real Uncanny or real awesome Dreamer. In the end : Magic Leap is Perfect.

  • Why hidden! Mee too I wanna 150" SmartTvPhone ! Size my hands !? Not important.

  • Yes, everyone has different definitions of different things. However, calling a car a bike just because your definition of car is a bike, does not make things right.

  • Yet again we are both right. People have different definitions for different things. Your definition of a tablet is different than my definition of a tablet. Some people think a tablet is anything bigger than 5 inches which others say anything bigger than 6 inches while others say anything over 7 inches. There is no clear cut definition on something this subjective.

  • This is the future of smartphones in 10-15 years time probably. I want this right now but unfortunately it's not available anytime soon. And yes I want a 60 inch or a 150 inch phone =).

  • size greater than 7 inches is a tablet, not a phone

  • I like to use phablet and Asus make me a decision to choose this rather than Xiaomi Mi Max.

  • Phones, display size start as: 60"/70"/80"120"/150" & hands size !? Hey scientists plz help! many user have need to big!? No ultra big hands!!

  • Samsung sOuL's in Z3u !! Alas, really alas.

  • We are both wrong here lol. The proper definition is "phablet". 9.7 inches isn't even that big, neither is 12.9 inches. I'm waiting for a phone with a screen size the size of a 60 inch TV or the size of a entire wall in a room using something like augmented reality goggles like the Microsoft hololens or using mixed reality goggles like Magic Leap. All these phones from all the major manufacterers whether they are tiny 4 inch phones like the iPhone se or big tablet phones like the ipad pro are all very boring to me. I'm waiting for the next big innovation something like the Microsoft hololens or Magic Leap that will allow me to use 1 device to replace all the displays we currently use like smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops and TV'S. We will probably have to wait between 10-15 years until these augmented or mixed reality goggles will replace our current smartphones and become mainstream. But I might be getting a little bit too ahead of myself cause the flexible bendable display smartphones will probably come next after our current smartphones. And then after the bendable display smartphones will we see the augmented reality and mixed reality phones. Who knows what the future will hold, only time will tell.

  • I use an ipad pro 9.7 LTE as my primary daily driver phone. You can turn any ipad into a phone by using certain voip apps that allow you to create a local phone number. Once you create that local phone number with the app you just use the app to send/receive phone calls and text messages like any normal smartphone. You have to buy the LTE version of the ipad in order to turn it into a phone since the voip apps you use require an Internet connection. If you want a 9.7 inch phone without using voip apps then check out something like the Samsung Galaxy tab s2 9.7 LTE. You can make regular phone calls and texts on this Samsung tablet like any normal smartphone without using the Internet. The only reason I got the ipad instead is because iOS is better than android for tablets. Android still lags far behind iOS on tablet optimized apps.

  • So you mean to say that once someone created something, no one else has the right to do something similar, or better than it?

  • Dude, that's called a tablet, not a phone.

  • 1 more brand copycat sony xperia z ultra,..that so funny,haha

  • 6.8" is too big to keep in pocket

  • Loving this device already 652 processor is enough for powering

  • Yoi didnt show that it records 4k videos? That's a big mess...

  • Maybe you want a power bank instead huh?

  • Any idea about launch date and price????

  • now ASUS MEANS business😃

  • the battery capacity is b*llsh*t! Extend the Battery life!

  • 5.5 inch is not phablet. At least 6 inch

  • when this mini tablet come to indonesia & price this gadget.....????????????

  • Hi.if you want a 5.5 inch phablet (but not completely,it is phone) i suggest Lg g4. It has removable battery.all things with this, is good, except its temperature mean in dual sim card which i use, when you even do sth like web browsing with it,it become immediately hot and you completely feel it.

  • Nobody knows for sure as it yet to be released but in my opinion, this is a very good phone especially the camera. One day asus phones will stand as high as samsung and other top brands in the world.

  • One question ask to all ... which phablet or tablet have removable battery options??????????...

  • Bad Bad..Nan removable battery..Nano sim.I thing good aption removable battery Two micro sim

  • When will this phone be released in the United States and for how much money? Im super interested, can anyone tell me if this would be a good, reliable phone? I usually stick with Samsung Galaxy phones but i really love the design and camera on this Zenfone. Any feed back would be much appreicated! Thank you.

  • May i ask what phone it is? sounds interesting!!

  • United States. I use a MVNO that uses AT&T, and their bands are: 2, 4, 5, 17 which is 1900, 1700 abcde, 700 bc And in our area, 700 is used A LOT. No band 17, won't even consider it.

  • nOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOoOow your phone is 9.7" & nExT your phone in NeXt yEaR is 12.9" really !? Ha :))

  • Maybe because asian people are the ones usually with the biggest tablet phones. The market for huge tablet phones is bigger in Asia than in America. Americans generally don't want to carry a phone this big. I'm asian myself and I use a 9.7 inch phone already and I plan to upgrade to a 12.9 inch phone next year.

  • what is that ??? the design samsung...????

  • 700Mhz. Where are you??

  • Because Apple protect 4G us market

  • No dedicated micro SD slot. Also not supporting for VoLTE

  • that right ?

  • 1. Why not Excellent Quality Recording through a microphone? 44100kh / 48000kh /96000kh 16/24bit ?

  • This will definitely replace my xperia z ultra.. I've been waiting for z5 ultra but sony doesn't have a plan to make it..

  • ASUS always best

  • Love the bigger size!

  • I'm a phone addict and I've tried all phone sizes from 3.5 inches(iPhone 4) all the way to 12.9 inch phones(ipad pro 12.9) and the largest phone that I could fit in my pants pockets is 8.4 inches(Samsung Galaxy tab S 8.4 LTE), so you don't have to worry 6.8 inches should fit in your pants pockets just fine with room to spare.

  • Good. But non removable battery and hybrid sim

  • Here is the link of the truth. Oh, and ask one of your friends who visit the Press Event yesterday

  • How do you know? Do you have both device?

  • 6.8 is too much

  • give 13 mp camera with front flash and keep the price between 20000

  • Why why why every 7 inch phone is designed for Asian market and has no 4g LTE bands for U.S.? This is becoming a pattern already like there is some type of ban on putting 4g LTE bands for usa on tablet phones.

  • Xperia X is better in performance and camera but not in price.

  • True respect i can tell Asus the first company that pay attention to battery life with all do respect to my best company Lg

  • Disappointed its a phablet... this is much beautiful if it is just 5 inch in size... so sad Asus

  • The zenfone 3 ultra of course... check by yourself specs/features

  • U can write to asus official to get their explanation.

  • My phab plus which the same size as zsnfone 3 ultra fits in my pocket perfextly but its a bit weird and unpleasant. I suggest u buy small beg to keep ur phablet wherever u go.

  • No U.S. LTE support on T-Mobile. Epic fail.

  • No 6.8, the delux is 5.7.

  • No band 17, forget it.

  • see if a smartphone bigger than 5.5 inch the it is said to a Pha-Tab. And if a smart phone is bigger than 7.0 inch it is know as a Tablet, not a smartphone. So a smartphone must be smaller than 7.0 but can be larger than 5.5 inch

  • see the link above. Why Asus not mention / write that the sensor used is Sony imx318? Only written 23MP. BTW.. sony imx318 is 22.5MP. It should be mentioned / written, Asus should pride that Zenfone 3 deluxe / ultra is that the first (world's first) that using sony imx318 sensor. (Or maybe it's just hoax, the sensor is not sony imx318 but use OmniVision OV23850 23MP ???) ps: all previous zenfone (example zenfone2, etc etc) asus said / wrote that the sensor is Toshiba (https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone_2_ZE551ML/)

  • Which is better zenfone 3 ultra or Sony experia x?

  • June 31

  • Same here :)

  • 6.8?? Don't they mean 5.8??? O.o non-removable-I'm-not-getting-one-kinda-deal-here-again

  • Too small screen size, I already use a 9.7 inch phone(ipad pro 9.7) and planning to get a 12.9 inch phone next year(ipad pro 12.9). Manufacterers need to make phones bigger than 7 inches or make all their tablets have GSM phone call functionality like what Samsung does with most of their LTE tablets. There is an extremely small segment of the market of people who use their tablets as their primary phone like me and I wish manufacterers cater more to that market.

  • I want a big phone. I've been eyeing the Xperia z5 premium and nexus 6p, I see this and I want it so bad. The only thing is, when is a phone too big? Will this fit in my pocket? if I get this, will my tablet become obsolete? There is a real void in the marketplace for large phones. 5.5 is too little , I don't know of any North American released phones bigger than 5.7. I think 6.0 inches would be perfect, but there's not many phones that big, and there is shit like the Xperia xa ultra with a moose shit processor. Speaking of processor, why only a 600 series? Why no 800 series processor on the device? Most likely to keep the cost down. Anyways rant over.

  • Yes...just wait

  • Somebody please tell me this device will be available in the US for AT&T?

  • Any idea how much would it be?

  • 1080p? really. this big phone?

  • It reminds me the xperia Z ultra

  • Your Ironic comment have no place here kid go troll elsewhere

  • Definitely buying the Zenfone 3 Ultra. If only Zenfone 3 Deluxe using Win 10 Mobile with Continuum. I'll buy both.

  • 32,000 expected price for this damm sexy phablet, if it was 25000, I could have thought for applying for loan. but 32 K, thats way more than 17 K (Asus Zenfone 6 ) (6" phablet). I m crazy for big screen, but this price is out of my range But I must say, WHAT A SEXY MODEL, WELL DONE ASUS

  • The best specs phablet so far.If launched at reasonable price tag of @ 20000 Rs ,it will be the most sold in phablet segment as per my opinion

  • Damn... thats some phab.. im surely going for this 1...

  • I can't wait for the phablet. It has all the specifications I love on phones. Asus, please release it on time.

  • Imagine this phone with the new-coming sd823 that's all what I need

  • I love it

  • Was defo going to go for the Xiaomi Mi Max but this is looking intersting and probably more geared to Europe as well!

  • 6.8"?!!! im buying it instead of a new tv!

  • It`s a stunning phone.

  • 73% screen to body ratio on a 6.8 " phablet ? this thing will be insanely big. it should be at least 79% and no more than 6.5".

  • look like sony design damn good ....

  • non-removable batteries (T_T).

  • Dearest gsmArena and Asus friends followers and friends.Hopefully I will write a more complete comment about this beautiful upper midrange phablet almost tablet...Certainly with the snapdragon 830 and WiFi dual,Dlna,it would have gone to high end category for sure...But written specifications here shows some high quality signs which is praiseworthy from Asus!!Also dividing main memory to two 32 and 64 gigabytes is....!?But I congratulate Asus to participate in an contest arena where Samsung C7,A9,and A9 pro,Huawei ascend mate 8,and Xiaomi note 3 snapdragon and some other midrangers contest beautifully!!!As gsmArena has mentioned, specifications may change too!!Good luck plus,Asus 3 ultra with so much qualities and excellent cameras mentioned!!!More analysis in next complete comment! Thanks to all mentioned and not mentioned quality maker smartDevices!Justice Rights,Omid12omidvar.

  • If Z3 ultra price under 400$ really that's brilliant choice.

  • Really cant wait this beast to come out. Much better than lenovo phab plus.
