Of course not, because this phone doesn't include any IP certification at all. So if ASUS doesn't want to guarantee it, in my opinion it's only natural, because it's PURE USER MISTAKES. I've had this phone for the last 8 months. I had to replace my Nexus 6P (which, as everyone's aware, comes with a whole host of questionable problems). While this phone isn't quite as responsive and it doesn't have the same solid feel to it - the Z5 is a quality everyday phone. The battery keeps up for the whole day (and for hours even when playing Ingress, screen active and high GPS quality). It charges quickly. Comes with good stock software (especially for clearing memory). The option to either put a second sim or an SD card is great for flexibility. The camera is of good quality and takes good photos (but struggles a bit with macro shots a little). All in all, it's a well rounded phone for its price range, but a little on the high side and would be perfectly priced at 15-20% less. (My standard use: Geo-tagging games, video/music, photography, casual games, work-related apps and messaging, with an array of other app use. Typically the phone gets 5+ hours of use per day).

*Raises an eyebrow* Water-resistant means you can use it in the rain for a few seconds, you can splash it and shake it off, drop it in a puddle and yoink it out within a second or two. Submerging it in water to let it sit for 5 *minutes* and it surviving means it's water*proof*. There's a significant difference. Sounds to me like deliberate sabotage to bilk a free upgrade. If I were a tech, I wouldn't replace that phone either.

This phone is definitely not water resistant AT ALL. It's not IP67 or IP68 rated and doesn't even deserve to be considered water resistant. Complete loss - ASUS refused to warranty or repair. It was only 30cm deep for 5 minutes. $500 gone!!! It was an alright phone until that happened, but the LCD display was a disappointment and camera speed wasn't as fast or responsive as I had hoped for a brand new model. And another disclaimer... ASUS phones are not warrantied in Australia and dealing with foreign sellers is a nightmare when trying to get these repaired. ASUS Australia are utterly useless and unwilling to even look at their own phones. ASUS abroad are very difficult to deal with. This was my 3rd Zenfone, but I'm finally pulling the plug.

For a few months I had no screen protector and no case. The phone was slippery and I dropped it too often. I have two scratches that are very visible when the screen is off, but not visible when the screen is on. I got a case and have not dropped or scratched the screen since. The case also keeps the face of the phone off the table about 2mm if you put it face down.

Yes - it seems the actual cord (not the charger) can be responsible for slow charging. I have a Zenfone 4 max. I lost my cord but still had original charger. It would not fully charge in 8 hours. I tried many cords, most didn't charge quickly but then found that a BlackBerry cord allows my phone to charge as fast as the original cord. This cord works with the charger, as well as other USB chargers (and car charger) that I have tried. Someone once said it's the cord length that matters. I found that's not true. I tried short cords that didn't work. The blackberry cord is about 4 feet in length.

Try buy another fast charging cable ,some could support. And press clean ram (I'm using Chinese version don't know what's the name in English ,but it's a icon one press to clear ram)it always fast charge after I pressed that. Also beware don't use any anti-virus (especially Kingston anti-virus),keyboard apps from China somehow they consumed more ram and CPU power in Taiwan based tech items. I uninstalled all of it everything is fine again

Having this phone since july 2018. My problem is: 1) when u loudspeaker while talking, the other party wont hear your voice. Need to talk normally. Sometimes while using earpiece, the other party cant listen to your voice. But their voice is heard. 2) few days ago, while using my earpiece, the volume keeps going down. Even i bring it up, it will continue to go down. Irritating. 3) my screen will stay vertical even if my phone is horizontal. Need to press home button then will go back horizontal. Irritates when u are in whatsapp. Changing soon.

FYI after updating my zenfone 5 to pie **developer option for the animations cannot be change to 1x or .5 it always revert back to 2x which is a bit disappointing since im used to turned this animations off. **i dont know if this is because of the update, it seems that the phone is a bit unresponsive or is it just me being used to turning off the animations? **the phone's signal reception, which was my previous complaint, is now better. well i just have a question for everyone who have updated their phones to pie. Is it worth it? the pie update? i mean, i personally dont have complain about updating, but what do i really get from it though? TIA

Can someone help me. I got this zenfone 5 phone for like 9 months and after system update my battery drains so fast (5hrs only one game) and before the update i was getting like 8-10 hrs only one game i always play in my phone it's not heavy game like moba or pubg more like not overheating my phone (Fate Grand Order). Is the system update has problem? or is it I always leaving my phone overcharge at night and the auto ai charging was completely useless to predicate when it should do it's work. I use Accubatter it shows true percentage like dozen stats of battery usage over some android settings. Then the stats shows 2300 mah had been use throughout the day when playing the same game.

You understood right :) Have a light usage in a day until it turns off automatically. Be noticed that do not let your device get warm (decreases test accuracy). And charge the device with a non fast adabter. I suggest using a low ampered one xD and i said non-fast charger coz' of adabters with 0.5A are very rare. Do not turn on the phone when its charging ( After draining to 0-1% and auto off) Tell me the result after doing these. Good luck.

I'll try your suggestion, but I only have my original Asus adapter which is, I suppose, a fast charger adapter, and an "adaptive fast charging" charger (it is written on it!) I had when I last bought a new usb-c cable (also a Samsung) as my original Asus cable is broken. Is it fully necessary to use a non fast charge adapter ? If so, I can find one. So, if I well understood, I have to let my phone turn off by itself (starting from 100%, right?) and then charge it to 100% without turn it on ?

Hi buddy. I suggest calibrating the battery: 1. Discharge to 0% or 1% (Slowly, don't let the device get warm) and let it turn off automatically. 2. Charge the device without a fast charger adabter.( NOTE: Do not turn on the phone until it's full charge.) 3. Check the battery percentage. it must be 100% before and after boot. ... If its not, the battery is broken are the device is being fake-charged.

Hi guys! For about 2 months now, my zenfone 5 is charging super slowly. I mean, I used to charge it to its max for 1h30 at the beginning, and since then, I need 5h to reach 100%. I sent an email to Asus support, and all they responded to me was that I need to use the original charger, but the problem is that my original usb cable is broken; I only have the original Asus adapter. So they told me to buy a new one on AsusParts, but I seriously doubt that it will change anything or solve my problem. They also recommend me to send my phone to the repair center, but I don't want to do it now because it will take at least 2 weeks and I don't have any other phone for that time. Do you guys know where the problem come from ? And maybe how to fix it without send it to repair ? Thanks in advance !

I just updated my phone 3days ago to pie, now it overheated and keeps rebooting itself until it coops down. Then it happend again, but this time the phone is cool, and no apps running. Only data is on. It happend twice while its cool and 2x when it overheated. Data is always on. Anyone experienced the same problem?

My phone now runs Android 9.0. Everything's great and I love the fluidity and responsiveness of my phone. Only problem is that there are some small glitches. Blue eye filter and AI boost doesn't work. Maybe they'll fix it the nex update.

Does anyone experienced lately the drop in the sound of the bottom firing speaker? I tried restarting the phone a couple times and the issue wasn't resolved. I tried checking system update and it doesn't have any. This is my second Zenfone after the trustworthy Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL) that I used years ago. To compare with, it's a great upgrade overall. Here's my quick review & opinion. + Very very good overall built quality. Love the back burst effect. + Good camera combination (wide + ultra-wide) + Dual Pixel give fast AF (although not the fastest in its class) + Very very good battery life (I'm not heavy user, mainly on WhatsApp, FB, YouTube & browsing) + Great bright display (very pleasing to eye and it's not as "striking" as AMOLED) + VERY VERY VERY loud speaker output ! + Fast charging + NFC + FM Radio ;) + 3.5 Audio Jack!! + Overall optimization is very very good. Unlike some other makers got minor issues e.g. notification delay/missing, touch inaccuracy/lag, gps lock problem & etc which is quite annoying for daily usage even though not major. Now the minus points are (don't get me wrong, this is personal opinion) - Camera on ultra-wide is not as good compared to LG G6/V30. - Manual Mode no Focus Peaking like LG G6/V30 which is very very useful. - Although Dual Pixel, focusing not as fast nor as good compare to my great old Galaxy S7 Edge. - Dynamic range could be better! - Quite noisy on Low Light environment but still at usable side :) - NFC a little weird to work with when sharing files with other device (not sure why, maybe it's just my unit) - Not much accessories for it due to its less popularity among the other makers. - Finger reader is decently fast but not blazing fast compare to others. - Stereo a bit off but is ok, the Main Speaker already loud enough ;) Cheers everyone ;)

My Zenfone 5 ZE620KL can last all day and still has some percentage of battery at night. But you have to charge the phone at night. So it has good battery life for 3,300 mAh. I think Asus has put a software optimization on this phone. Overall this phone is good, perhaps one the best Midranger.

Pretty strange. Why is the glass on mine not as hard as it's supposed to be. Got a few hairline scratches. And accidentally dropped it on gravel once. Screen got full of scuffs. Which is really annoying af. PS. Bought mine in a legit Asus store so wouldn't call if fake based on the quality.

Have you checked videos on YouTube regarding how strong the build of this phone is? It's actually really strong that it can endure such bending test and it can withstand scratches upto level 7. I have this phone and it doesn't have any single scratch. It even fell one time without a case and to my surprise it didn't scratch the phone both front and back. It only damaged the aluminun sides slightly. 😀

The biggest downside is that neither glass panes(front and back) is scratch resistant. it's EASILY scratchable that even budget phones have better resistance. So false advertising on ASUS' part. And so I'd recommend future owners or current owners that have their units mint to IMMEDIATELY get a screen protector(I really regret that I didn't) and at least keep the free case on at all times. One more thing that annoys me is that the camera lens doesn't have some sort of coating.... so keep it clean while taking photos or you'd get some glare.

I love changing themes all the times but hate to this Zenfone 5 where every themes are very ugly yet you have to pay for a dollars. No considerations to have a 100% themes free. Compare to Xiaomi Poco F1 where themes are very very beautiful yet all free of charge. Wake UP Asus! You're not making good at all! So disgusting!

just saying fastcharging will hurt the battery is kinda hasty. FastCharging is kinda tricky it has pros and cons with the battery. I just wanna say in the long run don't keep the battery below 20% charge then Charge it with a FC 3.0 or 2.0 it will be bad for the battery itself. what will be good is maintaining a good charge on the phone around 45% - 60%, If you plan to keep the phone around a while long that is. FastCharging your battery starting from 10>=20% then charging it to 100% will degrade the ions on the battery very faster

I have it the same dilema between Asus zenfone 5 and Huawei mate 20 lite, I have it many Huawei phones before, and Asus win. It is a great device, have a beautifull design premium materials, an amazing screen, a good camera with Ois, who remember me by Lg g5 sensors normal 12mp and 8mp wide, also last google patch security october firmware very nice software with gestures, also a very good face unlock and properly finger print unlock. I try it also Gcam app and picture is beautifull. SO the phone is very good, no lag, good software, amazing screen, good battery life with 7h Sot, and good picture rezults. I am s-o happy with this device, I have all, IPhone e design, Lg knock and camera, Asus software and not forgot very Quick charging with Qualcomm 3.0 fast charger.

I was interested In this funnily enough. I have honor V10 really fast and does its job. But sometimes I feel it's to 'artificial' coming from a redmi note 4x to this I seen the improvement. I have this ASUS ZE620KL. One of the worst Zenfones to date. Sony camera (1.4um) is horrible, blurry & out of focus many times. MP4 recording has wobbly video & no EIS. Sound from headphonejack is very weak. Battery is not what i expected. Be warned!

I'm loving everything about this phone besides the audio output when using the earphones. It's fast, I have not experienced any lags (yet) when playing, I like the camera, the fingerprint sensor is awesome and the design of the phone is beautiful. But I swear my previous phone's earphone output is soooo much better. I thought I was just imagining it when I was trying it out (ya know, I might be having adjustment issues since I'm so attached to my Zenfone Selfie, haha), but no, a lot of people are complaining, just check out Zentalk (https://www.asus.com/zentalk/thread-222537-1-1.­html). And for someone like me who treats music like a life support, this is the most disappointing part. According to the last comments on the thread, it's been fixed but I'm not so sure. I haven't noticed any difference but I would be comparing it again with my previous phone. The audio output via speaker is good. Another disappointing part is the notifications. When other notifications (with sound) would come in (mostly from FB and messenger), my music would also start playing via speaker even with the earphones plugged in. It has happened quite a few times so I'm sure it's not just a one-time thing. My workaround was to just put the phone on vibrate (I think the system is getting confused which sound to play on speaker or earphones). I'm not sure if it's a system glitch or it's something I can tweak in the settings. I'm sure it's not the player (I'm using Stellio) since I used the same player on the previous phone and this never happened. Imagine being in the office where everybody is pretty much working in silence, then a message notification came in, then suddenly everyone in the production floor knows that you're listening to Slipknot and you don't even know that they could hear it since there is still output on the earphone... It was very embarrassing.

It's not a fair to make a comparisson between Flagship LG V 30 with midrange Zenfone 5, because the price of LG V30 more than twice expensive than Asus Z5. You should compare LG Flagship V30 with Samsung Flagship Note 9.

Not quite sure if this is the best phone in the mid range tier because once you update the firmware your battery screen on time decreases. On the first month after I bought this phone ita still okay but after the updates it gets hotter and screen ontime decreases even though youclear the ram and clear all unnecessary processes. Best phone I've ever had. With normal office use (hour of calls, checking mails, messenger, skype...) I usually have 3 days on one charge. During weekend I can do 4-5 days. I can even charge it to 100% and if I don't touch it for 6 hours, it still have 100%. But once you start maps on GPS, shooting video it goes down quickly. Regarding noise on camera.... yes the auto gives you noisy results in low light conditions, but if you know something about camera settings you can override auto in pro mode and you can even shoot with ISO200 in low light. You can set shooter, focus, ISO, EV and WB freely like in semi-pro cameras. Signal reception is amazing and thats only one personal cons to me. I used to go to gym with my phone as music player, that gym is in the basement. I usused to have almost no signal there. Now with Zenfone, anyone can call me. Sh...t. :-D

You can also consider the Poco F1 since it has the latest snapdragon chipset. But their MiUI seems pretty heavy. Huge battery capacity. Which is good. It also has a Type-C supports fast charge so yeah. But the back is pretty ugly. The camera doesn't have OIS. Good for gaming and surfing though.

If you consider yourself as a normal user, then both phones shouldn't be an issue. Vivo V11 has higher specs. I like the finger print mounted at the back (ZF5). I like the Zen UI better than the FunTouch. V11 has micro USB while ZF5 has Type-C (Type C is a PLUS). Both of them supports 18W fast charge. You can consider buying the Honor Play since it has a high end chipset with an affordable price. But all in all, ZF5 is better, for me. Coz I own one. Hahahaha!

I'm not sure if you own the device, but i do, it is laggy, the camera is noisy, the front camera is washed out, battery life is just average at best, only 4GB of RAM - and it cost MORE than the Pocophone. For the right price this device would be ok, like the Lenovo Z5 that is almost identical but for only 60% of the price. The Zenfone 5 is an expensive mid-range with an appealing design but nothing more.

Have had the Asus Zenfone 5 for a week now, within hours the screen had cracked. Not from dropping it, but simply placing it on a marble countertop face down. The worst phone signal reception I've ever heard, I literally only hear every other vowel of anyone I try to speak with. Firefox seems slower to load than my previous phone. Considering reverting back to my Oneplus 3 that has been through so much abuse w/o any sign of wear on the screen and researching other phones. Any advice to salvage my purchase of Asus Zenfone 5?

i think zenfone 5 is better than pocophone . zenfone got a stylish design , good display ,better camera , ois for video recording , better low light photo shooting capability , video recording on 60 fps at 1080p . if you are not buying phone for gaming then i think zenfone 5 is a better choice . you know pocophone only got face unlock at low light and snapdragon 845 . Other components are cheap that installed in pocophone than zenfone 5 .

Update: signal dropping is more obvious now. Cant even load youtube, not all the time, but very frequent. I've compared it wth my gfs lg stylus 2 and im shookt. Lg loads youtube faster, browse faster, buffering? No smooth and really good in the same room, heck i cant even google search sometimes in my asus z 5.. The taskbar says i have internet connection but it just wont load anything at all. 😭😭 Disappointing it is. Hope asus rolls out update for this sooner.

Shitty comments? My comment is based on actually owning the device and listening to music, and believe me, my audio files are good enough in terms of quality. You can search the ZenTalk forums, every one is speaking of this issue, audio via headphones is weak and Asus does absolutely NOTHING in order to change it or improve.

I have the same issue with ML. Moonton is aware of the issue and they said its a compatibility issue. Hope ASUS can fix ML issue. Crashing/Black screen while on the game is so annoying. I think it started during the first Jade Path Event.

been using the phone for just 2 mos now and some issues are arising. been worried that this phone would not be good for at least 2yrs of use if this issues showed up this early 1) first issue i encountered is the signal reception of the phone. its unstable. whenever i move around a room in our home i get different signal strength, of course that affects mobile data speed as well. This is in comparison with my sister's samsung a8+ with the same sim card 4g lte. her phone gets stable signal strength moving around in the same room im in. 2) playing mobile games on the phone sure is fast. at first. but in two months time ive been experiencing game crashing. sd636 should be able to handle ML(mobile legends) at medium graphic settings with no problem right? but it crashes every now and then. i also experience a phone static screen while playing then it would crash. this should not happen as my only game in the phone is ML. i would also clear my ram bfore playing. back to the first issue, I am sitting while playing games but my signal varies everytime, i would start with a full bar signal but then it would drop to 1 bar signal. = 4gt lte speed to 2g speed. *** i used the same sim card on my sister's phone and its signal strength is stable. question: am i the only one experiencing this? is it just my phone and should bring this to the service center? do you any suggestion on how to remedy the issues? btw, im always updating my phone whenever there is an update. I own regular Zenfone 5ze620kl. The audio experience when plugging hires earphone is underpowered, there's not enough bass no matter how much custom tweaks I did, including installing the poweramp. I'm afraid it's the hardware... I have chance to compare with my friend's Oppo F7, and to my surprise it sounds much boom (I borrow HTC terms of bass) and clearly beat my ZF5. You sure fooIed me, Asus!

Update, tried the 4k 60 fps setting with video. I was surprised to see that the video was much cleaner and smoother compared to the 1080p 60 fps. Also the autofocus is responding more normal. How is this possible?... One should think that 4k 60 fps (bitrate 75 mbit) is much more demanding for the hardware, so i think there;s someting seriously wrong with the 1080P 60 fps setting. Please Asus fix!

I just bought the ZE620KL too... I'm still on test mode. We are the same lol my previous phone is LG G4 too. The camera is probably needs to have a app update. But its alot faster than the LG G4. I'm happy now using this unit. Hopefully it will last because I have problems with G4 it goes hot quickly and replaced the motherboard twice.

I have this phone for 2 weeks now, and i must say it is a very smooth and fast phone, compared to my old LG G4. Except the camera (software) is a little dissapointing. The photo quality is about as good as the G4, except there's no possibilty to shoot RAW with the zenfone. Also the autofocus is not as accurate (more hunting for focus) especially in low light. The automatic exposure adjustment when recording video is not as smooth as the G4. The overall video quality is also not very good compared to LG G4, with G4 i was able to record crispy smooth motion 60fps full hd video. with zenfone the video is more jerky. is seems to drop frames every second. Also low light videoquality is very grainy and muddy compared to LG. However i don't think it's a hardware issue with the zenfone, but software related. Asus needs to improve the camera software. Propably the video is recorded with too low bitrate. It would be nice if asus would unlock full camera2api to allow other camera apps to use full potential of the hardware. A "pro video settings section" just like the "pro photo section" would be nice, to give the user more control over bitrate , framerate , shutterspeed, diaphragm etc. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice phone, but the camera (software), especially the videopart needs more refinement.

The price of this phone is medium-low. In this price range, it's hard to find phone in 2018 better than Zenfone 5. This phone is totaly similar with Flagship Zenfone 5Z except that the processor is downgraded from Snapdragon 845 to Snapdragon 636, the rest of the specs are simillar !

Observation from a couple of days of owning the phone: - Camera is great at daylight, very noisy at night - nevertheless, Google Camera solves any issues with low light photos (you don't even have to root the device. - Quite a snappy device overall, but coming from MIUI, Zen UI doesn't feel as polished, some transition animations are awkward which make the phone feel less fluid even though the hardware is more than capable. - Finger print reader is not bad, definitely not the quickest on the market, but i wouldn't call it slow either - like above, i also believe that better optimization of the UI is the key, and not hardware. - I absolutely love the screen, colors are punchy and vivid, and maximum brightness is above average. I was a notch hater before even owning a phone with a notch, but it all changed with this phone - like it or not, this is a decent way to maximize and take advantage of more screen space in a smaller package, this phone is 6.2" and still feels really compact. - battery life is decent, not as good as my former Xiaomi Mi Note 3, but still managed to get around 6 hours of SOT. To summerize, the only things that really bother me are some transitions and animations in the Zen UI that feel a bit dodgy, which can make the OS feel less snappy than it could be, hope it will be solved in future updates.

For those who say the phone is slow, you are clearly lying I have used the phone for 1 week and it works great, it has vibrant display, as advertised fingerprint unlock is less than a second (dont know why some people say its so slow)(dont buy online buy from ASUS stores maybe you got ripped off), face unlock usable in bright light, 2/3 times unlocked on low light setting (but you still have the fingerprint if its too dark), all the complaints can be fixed with system update(I've updated 4 times since I first bought the unit) (SYSTEM UPDATE people, its not perfect out of the box) , the audio and camera bugs are fixed in the updates, the notch too can be hidden after the 2nd update if I remember correctly, the battery is CRISP AF and can easily last you a day of streaming and surfing the web unless you play with it for hours, I charge it at 40% and it's already 100% after 50-60 mins with AI charging, 4GB of ram is all you need unless you have tons of apps, then i would suggest getting the 6GB variant, Android Oreo eats 1.1GB of ram just so you guys know so your basically left with 3gb to use, I have never experienced lag and if you guys game just turn on the AI Boost (Faster battery discharge) so you can game smoothly, the speakers are a MONSTER, in max volume it just fills the room and is louder than most phones, if you dont mind losing a bit of audio quality turn on outdoor mode in max volume and this phone is louder than most bluetooth speakers (yes I swear it's that loud), the headphones are good but switching out the earbuds are a pain in the behind, you have to kind of squeeze and turn until its in tight because the earpiece is larger than the inserting hole of the earbuds, overall a good midrange phone so I dont know what the plethora of complaints come from, I think its mostly from people who dont update the software who keeps complaining of the bugs.

This is the smartphone that matches 6.2" display in 5.5" body...Even it's 19.5: 9 in reaio...No other phone that have this compact built....This can easily fits in hand... The camera quality both front and back is outstanding....AI features are marvellous and low light picture quality is far better than Nokia 7+... I've tested .....OIS makes your pictures shake proof..... I find no problem with call quality and signalling. Even they're better than most other devices.... Zenear pro is a dts supported earphone... Bought this phone 3 days ago. Beautiful screen, fast UI, nice camera though I have issue when using wide angle the picture is pixelated. I hope it can be fixed on future update. Main 12MP camera is good. The battery seems to drain faster compared to my Zenfone 3, it could be because of the screen and the charging time takes longer as well. Despite that I still love my new phone. Its beautiful (Notch hidden).

Zenfone 5 got me by its stabillised camera and larger notched display. Samsung A8 has waterproofing but the worst camera of those 3, display is small comparing to the size of the body. Most camera sensors (even big ones) display noise in low light. Noise reduction is usually applied to it, but then details are lost. You could use a third-party apple like Google camera, open camera, snap camera, etc. Each has a different noise reduction algorithm. To me, a noisy photo is better because you can always edit it in photography software to reduce noise while keeping as much details as possible. I don't like the camera to decide for me.

My Zenfone 5 takes decent lowlight photos. It has noise but not to the point that it causes issues. I don't take lowlight photos so often so not a problem to me. :)

Hey bro, does your zenfone 5's rear camera do well in the dark? I can't figure out how to remove the noise/distort when using the cam in the dark. The noise is terrible in the dark, it's like the cam has grain filter. This is my 2nd Zenfone 5 and it's still the same when using cam at night/dark, I had my first zenfone 5 replaced when I used it to play mp3 in max volume with dolby(rock eq) for 3hours, one of its speakers broke sounded like a teared plastic. I tried some camera apps in playstore but it still grainy/noise when using cam at night. Hope someone could help.

Pros: 1. Gorgeous screen quality overall. It's vivid, has good viewing angles, great contrast, and really bright screen and I have no trouble using it under direct sunlight. 2. Cameras are of flagship quality. Daylight images are topnoch tho it needs a little work with dynamic range. Lowlight images are also great. I have nothing to say about the wide angle lens but it's working and the results are decent. Front facing camera does the job well. 3. Battery life is good and charging speed is quite fast. 4. Loudest stereo speaker in a smartphone. Twice or thrice louder than my iPhone 7 Plus and it doesn't distort even in the highest volume. 5. Performance is another great thing about this phone. A very capable processor for an affordable price. 6. I don't care about the notch and I actually find it innovative. Ps: Hope this helps! 😀

I got Oppo F7 4gb variant from my postpaid plan it was my previous phone before I sold it online after 3 weeks and bought ze620kl 4gb ram. Z5 has adreno,snapdragon, and better UI. Also the battery lasts longer while playing games since it handle games like a champ. It has game genie and to my surprise, the rear camera of z5 is better than f7. F7 only won selfie cam. But when taking videos it can only go 1080p 30fps while z5 can go ultra 60fps

For same price or less (in indonesia), you will get Zenfone 5z (not Zenfone 5) with 8GB/256GB ram/storage, which using snapdragon 845. And OP6 is not available in some markets. $520 OP6 price is only on US and some markets, not all. In Singapore, it will be $100 more. Price will be higher on black market where OP not officially sell. So, you can imagine that Zenfone 5/5z is so affordable, with those spces. Btw, I am sure this will make pressure to Xiaomi to launch their flagship model, where currently not exist in some asian markets.

Asus review. pH buyer 1 from what I heard almost smartphone today drains battery compare to old ones. My last phone was 2012 Samsung and built like Nokia. For some reason need to upgrade. I want Nokia 7 plus but it's tru delivery I'm scared unboxing it would frustate me vs Asus 5 laying on every store I got real review in my hand 2. The battery drains roughly 6hrs (heavy use, WiFi,gaming,data,watch video offline online) on average 7hrs and would last more days just call text and music 3. Fast charging, it has AI features and includes charging battery when you reach 80% it slow down making it more plus minutes to get full, but as expert suggested drain charge your battery at 20 to 90%. It has rcs which consume more battery but all new smartphone has the same thing like this so disabling this is another topic or not needed since I'm ok with very fast charging. Also network cell standby consume a bit, wouldn't mind but I thought it should be lower 4. I never try anyphone but it has equivalent features to other phones (instinct feeling) plus it has built in game recording, very good facial detection which I never use and finger print. The best part is mobile manager it's all in one battery, data, ram manager. It's what I like the most since everything I need is here since I'm always frustrated about ram battery and data. You need to check physical store to check it's outer design since it has notch and lower screen display is curve instead of square. But I treat it as ustyle unique to other phone lol 5. Bloatware pre loaded apps. It has 11 gb out of 64 gb internal, and 2gb ram usage. I'm a good user so it doesnt matter at all except for internal which Nokia brag about to be a clear 64gb 6. Camera and video has noise in low light, sometimes visible in daylight indoor. But premium shot outdoor. It's all clear in low light, night and day except for noise. Noise sometimes can be arguably be not an issue here since it change depend on people yeah not the light 7. Very good interface 8. This one is recommended. I like it. I just Disable the auto update, since I've heard about it being horrible. Maybe ill update it if forums in the internet and other user experience the beat for their phone

Zenfone 3's camera got many praises from many reviewers and I guess "Build for photography" justifies their camera performance. The only problem is every major Android updates always destroyed the phone's firmware. I assure most of Zenfone 3's users complaint was made after they upgraded from Marshmallow to Nougat. I have Zenfone 4 ZE554KL and Zenfone 3 Zoom ZE553KL, both have 'almost' flagship-worthy camera grade.

Asus's cameras are better on paper for their hardware, BUT Asus always screws it up with their crappy firmware. Their "made for photography" ZF3 never focused correctly even after many "updates". Just look at the Asus forums and see how many angry users there are.

I have a question about the Zenfone 5. Does it have a bad motion blur or smearing problem similar to the Zenfone 4. i had several lcd cell phones in the past, but the Zenfone 4 motion blur and smearing was not acceptable. Like scrolling a web page on the Zenfone 4 was bad because of the smearing of the text and colors. the problem was very little present with my Idol3, Xperia XZs XZ1 and Huawei P10 Plus. Only Zenfone 4 was horrible. 2D scrolling games like Sonic adventure 4 was unplayable to me because of bad motion blur, all screen is blurred while running with Sonic, and smearing present too. Maybe you can compare Zenfone 4 and 5 while scrolling a web page. White text on black background is worst like wccftech mobile web page. IM VERY interested to buy the Zenfone 5 or 5Z, so i hope you can answer my question about motion blur and smearing of the Zenfone 5. thanks a lot. My name is Ron :)

why asus follow xiaomi feature to use hybrid slot for sd card.? people with strict with data safety prefer uses 2 sim card for using diffrentt network provider with dedicated sdcard slot to put sensitive data in sdcard not internal storage. that dedicated sdcard slot helps avoid lost data if incase phone is accindentally fail/break or wrecked, as well as sensitive data leak when phone on repair process.

I can’t stand mouning abobut the notch. There is no notch as a feature it does nothing. The only reason is that there are no other way to have camera and ambient ligh sensors on the front... You won’t have notch if you would have bezel in the upper section. As for myself i prefer to have notch and cell and battery data on the left and right side of the notch and than screen.

i started using smartphone with nokia lumia 800 in 2012, ever since i have changed 5- 6 different phones and i must admit that the branch which has impressed me more than anyone is ASUS. Really it gives you worth every rupee spent. My first asus phone was Zenfone 2 laser and i liked it a lot for its very good battery life, very good camera and very good general performance. after ZF2 Laser i used coolpad note 3 lite, htc one m8, htc desire 830 and honor 6x, but if you leave honor 6x apart none of the above mentioned phone come closer to zenfone in terms of overall value for money. The phone i am using is zenfone 3 and i must say i am loving it, for its superb battery life, android oreo update, excellent performance and great camera. I may never purchase an apple iphone for its nonsensical pricing but if a brand like asus gives me true value for money, i'd definitely go for it.

ZF3 has been updated with 2 major OS updates, currently on the latest 8.0, with multiple smaller udpates & patches, so your information is lacking any basis in reality. Even ZF2 OS was updated twice, once right near launch the other once Mashmallow made it through testing (due to all the moaning about the previous update), although these updates required downloads for some and weren’t available as OTA in all regions, that’s still better than even some of Google’s own devices which were orphaned for marketing reasons not capabilities (ie Nexus 7 gen2). People will always complain about what updates changed or didn’t address, and a large portion of the moaning is BS from people wanting to be able to roll-back their devices for the very exploits you claim the generic owners are using to get stock OTA updates, but even most of those are region specific for features that the local carrier is involved in supporting.

You guys below are quite lucky. I own the Zenfone 2 ZE551ML and was part of the unfortunate group of users to suffer from the infamous Display/Screen Flicker problem, and a bloated/leaking battery. Since my ZF2 was an overseas set with no local warranty, I had to pay to get the LCD screen replaced at a phone servicing shop. For the battery, I had to make purchase a similar battery online and DIY fix it into the phone. Do note that the battery is a non-removable type and there's always the risk of rendering your phone useless to DIY fixing. Total cost for repairs is about 1/3 of the phone itself. Nevertheless, I'm still interested in getting the Zenfone 5. Unless they fail me once more this time round, will be the last time I ever purchase an Asus phone.

I too have a ZE552KL and they did not fix the Bluetooth problems for months. I can only get my phone to connect to my car by buying a new phone. Also, it produce crap photos even though it is "built for photography". Just looking on the Zenfone forums, the 552/520 focus problems become worse with each updates. The Asus reps there just keep telling people to take their phones into service centre, when the service centre say they cannot fix the phones because it is a software problem not a hardware problem.

Since you haven't experienced an ASUS device first hand, I believe what you have posted here is just out of speculation and some rumors that you have heard. And "TRUST ME" (this word is too much for you to use anyway) when I say that they always update they customers to its very latest updates i.e. I purchased my Zenfone 3 ZE552KL last December of 2016 and since then I have received 2 OS upgrade from Marshmallow out of the box and it is now on Oreo with Security patch to its latest. What can you say about that? ofcourse, nothing, because you just pointed this out of speculation. Anyway back to Zenfone 5, I really love its design and don't give a damn if it looks like an iPhone X. Practicality wise, this phone is for the masses with good spec sheet I believe this will sell out. iPhone X with the price of a mid-range device.

Dude for kind information I own an Asus zenfone 3 which was launched in 2016 on Android 6.0(marshmallow) and till date i have got all the security patches including Android 7 (nougat). Also would be pleased to inform you that currently my phone is running on Android 8 (oreo) with the security patch of Jan 2018. So one should own the phone first, experience it and then comment. Just dont fire up in the air. And about the price of 600 euros that u sayin it might launch at, I dont think so.. Cant comment on the pricing as of now.. Lets wait and see.

why does people keep getting angry about the notch? first of all apple doesnt have the notch design, it was there from a long time ago since motorolla used it back in 2006, notch is not a new design, they just use it for convenience purpose second of all, they told us already at the launching, that the notch will be there mostly as an interface function, thats why they use 19:9 ratio instead of 18:9, so when u watch video or using any app like games, the screen wont be chopped by the notch like apple does, the 1 ratio is originally left there only for the notch so it wont bother the app or video well this is at least what i've heard from the product launching at mwc, if anyone has other info please do correct me

I would expect this Phone in India about 23000($350) or 24000($370) because this carries the same design, software and camera of its elder sibling i.e 5z if its going to carry more price than this, its gonna be overpriced for sure.Additionally I have seen Asus to present the phones to many YouTubers even the small ones to give their hands on and a brief overview this is the marketing strategy of Asus to attract more buyers I think they are marketing aggressively so they are not gonna overprice(hope so) within that price bracket its a definitive buy.

I am eagerly waiting for this fone. What a design even the notch is smaller than IPhone. WOW. Apart from that So many HiFI techonology. Dual speaker, Dedicated LDAC, Hi-Res headfone, NFC and so many thing. Please Asus release this beast in india as soon as possible. Can not control myself after looking at it. I was about to purchase the Note 5 Pro but now canceled it and waiting for Zenfone 5.

I guess u needa upgraded your knowledge before callin the chip outdated. Snapdragon 636 was released in nov 2017 and was said that its gonna be available on devices in early 2018. 2 months old chip doesnt make it outdated. Only a handful of devices had the SD636 before the zenfone 5. Its not a high end chip so its gonna be in budget oriented devices only.

I am not saying that Asus is copying Apple, but from experience what we seen over few years, every single product is not trying to match Apple nowadays. Of course I can say, yyyyy bad apple, he is copying Motorola Design buuu. My point was that this phone from distance looks like X and maybe, I assume, that could be the reason, why someone wants that to copy and buy - they want to have apple but don't have courage or money or I don't know. On the other hand, it is a little different from what we saw in past so good point for new design (except it is still big paddle with colors).

I think this phone is for fooling others that you bought something expensive and extraordinary (apple X). This has nothing to do with sensible design as it seems to be 1:1 copy. Also price I guess would be more than expected so better choice will be Xiaomi here. But yea, why not. I know this has been mentioned before but android device makers should stop copying the iPhone. Not on anybody's side. I have used both operating systems and I like both tbh. But the iPhone x already has a bad design. The camera placement, camera bump and the notch could have been avoided entirely. It feels like a prototype. If they do want to copy something, copy the good stuff.

Dual speakers, beautiful screen, AI host to every single operation is really a complete package, Not to mention about regular and fast updates from Asus even on old phones. @ChinaWhine. Don't compare zenfone 2 since it has an outdated chipset although it has the same battery, RAM and storage but take into consideration the CPU GHZ and GPU of the SD 636 (ZE620KL) and SD 845 (ZS620KL). Ghaaad!
