Asus Zenpad C 7.0 - User Reviews

  • A typical post where help is offered telling you what needs to be done but not a hint of how to do it.

  • It seems ASUS stop updates for years . There is no security patches. I donzt think I will get ASUS again. Samsung is same....

  • do you mean P01Y?? if yes, yup compatible siya, i use my usb to transfer videos to my tab eh...

  • It does not support high Speed on SD cards. I have a card that supports Up to 98mb/s sequential Read and I get 75mb/s on Moto G5 Plus with that card but only 16 GB/s with the same card on the Zenpad.

  • otg compatible po ba ang P001?

  • can I upgrade it to android 6.0

  • I have a zenpad. It says its model is P01Z. Is it zenpad C 7.0? Does anybody knows the best custom rom for this device

  • How to insert sim?

  • Just found out why ASUS C7.0 has so much speed issue. It turns out Google Play Services, instant app and play store had been using up all processor and dasta channels. Now my C7.0 is running like silk after Cut off the above Google services accessing wifi, data etc. Do a clean memory , cache etc before you re enable these services to update apps. Once don3.cut them off again I had trouble with my browser..afte4 this change..no freezes etc. Google is monitor8ng your web browsing.

  • Looks like latest Google behind the scene updates cause a few restarts..freeze a lot..and wifi lost connection. ASUS should release security patches.

  • Why pad very problems,I reset 3 time,,then my pad restart many2..then my video play very fast in a minute 30:00..why like that,,cannot see movie,YouTube also, all video like that..headache..

  • Hold the power and volume up key down for 15 seconds If that doesnt work un plug the battery and plug it back in

  • I am having a problem with my Asus Zenpade C 7.0 It wont ture on or charge, the power would come on and black out. I was told it could be a facture defect. What do i do? This was given to me as a gift.

  • Chill boy.. Why so angry.. haha

  • Firmware update today May 2nd.

  • Good value for money tablet. Battery drains very quickly when watching video. Will last several hours with light usage. Dual SIM though think only one is 3G. 3G works just fine. Not particularly quick and struggles when you have lots of apps open but for price can't complain.

  • No Lags, but drains battery on heavy games like LOW Merc 2, but perfectly performs well good graphics and sound. I bought this tab for the game and it did not fail me.

  • I have been using it for 6 months now, 90% of time to watch Netflix and for that it works great. For any other things, it is too slow although the Zen UI is among the best I have seen and the included tools are good. With another chip and more ram it would be a bomb.

  • This tablet is the worse

  • Have huge laggggg

  • Can this tablet be updated to marshmellow?

  • been notified to update asus zenpad c 7.0 system and i agreed . after that it cannot be started .

  • mine works good. apps working well but much better if it comes with a sim slot.

  • My dearest whether Google has any authority on apak apps or not none of downloading apps works on any device worldwide!!!Of course these apps produced by untrustworthy developers are contaminated with malware,spyware,bugs,ads,spam,..under illiterate ignorant unschooled unlettered naive simple minded alien secret service organizations!!!I can prove all my legal claims and it is the duty of Interpol to investigate about these spydens and GOOGLE DISCLAIMER!!!Some years ago they were better but now the worst contaminated apps!!!Now it is GSMArea guts and dare to publish and release facts fearlessly for the public interest!!Fact-writing needs sincerity and guts!!Justice Rights.Omid12Omidvar,....

  • Guys I installed facebook APK but when when I lunch it, it didn't open Any body has same problem ? And how I can fixe it?

  • I have the a similar promblems mange to get the game but no sooner is the up and running all I get is lag lag lag. This device truly is shit!

  • Me have isssues with it too. All hevier programs are crashing and now its not responding to any comands!

  • Very happy with this device. Own it since August 2015. Installed all FOTA updates, and so far, it is just getting better and better. Highly recommended.

  • New firmware update 2017...much faster....so far C7.0 is great. Waiting for Marshmellow

  • bad charge i do not know if this is the cable or the laggy tablet but it charges at one precent every two hours age less than nine months

  • Great device. Large display. Weights Light and mobile. And beautiful to keep. Cost much less comparing to the high end fluffy models, some which explodes lately, with a much smaller screen, and cost ten times more. I highly recommend this one. I am a happy day to day user of it.

  • The keyboard is sickening. It lags, stuck and so slow not capacitive as i expected. At time the "x" button is really hard to press. Not nice.

  • Great tab. Mine is 3g andar all works great. I'm ver happy. Congratulations Asus.

  • Company says internal mem is 8/16 GB.But in my tab only 4GB is present.lots of problems i have with this tab.My android operating system is not working. Eg: My android lolipop versn keyboard is missing. Seriously u wont believe. Message me if u could.

  • thx for posting, saved by it : )

  • How is the battery life ?

  • I bought this piece of crap 1 year ago in an airport on my way home to Norway. It was cheap and I understood the store wanted me to buy silly things like a cover, that would cost 50% of the price of the tablet, and overpriced SD cards. Of course I didnt. I was trying to use it during January to see what would happen and I noticed it was exceptionally slow and when I tried to play video on it, it often failed. The sole reason that I bought it was to watch movies/videos on it, and it couldnt even handle basic youtube videos. I went into the camera just to see if that worked. It didnt. the Asus camera app refuse to this day to work, I have never once been able to take a single photograph with it. The app just decide to crash. After this I put it in a drawer and went on with my life, cursing the shit out of this useless Asus product. This November I bought a DJI Phantom 4 drone and since I have a Samsung S7 Edge, the DJI Go app makes my phone restart. I had the brilliant idea to take up my old Asus and see if maybe it would work with it. I started up the tablet and let it stay connected for about 24 hours before I even tried to do anything, letting it update and run its programs and get ready to be tested. I managed to log into the app but that is where it ended. Video is super glitchy and cannot be used in any sense. Ok, so I wanted to reset the devide and only install the DJI Go app instead, maybe, just maybe it could work better then! I go into settings, go to the reset to factory button and OF COURSE the entire tablet freezes. It does not do anything further, except to tell me that "Settings have stopped responding". Fantastic! Not only is the included camera-app useless, the settings on the tablets is useless as well! I try to restart the device and as it just is about to shut down it pops up with the screen where I am supposed to write in 4 numbers for a factory reset... I try again and again, but the only chance to write the numbers in is when it is almost shut down. I try the volume + and power button to reset, but only gets stuck on a green android screen. I then find out its volume - and power button. Great I do that and get it installed again. Lo and behold; it is still horrible. Slow as hell, the camera app doesnt work! the settings still refuse to work and overall it is a piece of shit. I used to love Asus, now I just hate them completely. stay away from this horrible tablet!

  • I just got mine (I bought the wifi variant) and it seems good to begin with, a major plus is usb otg support which is a necessity for me. A bit sluggish at first so you should adjust the settings a bit so it works even better.

  • I bought ZenPad C7.0 one month ago, now I have to throw away it. I pressed 'System Update' as there is a small red @1, then the tablet keeps showing 'Android is upgrading' forever. There is no reset button to change to factory mode.

  • Exellent device, using it for over a year, as my major phone, and enjoying every minute using it. All my apps responds greaat. Wi-Fi a and bluetooth works great, gps navigation is great, and also 3G calls and dafa, reat display, great p!ayback of youtube! Highly recommended!

  • I opened the back and adjusted the camera.. Yes..Asus camera is far below grade....

  • Camera and video too bad not clear.

  • Can't connect to WIFI! Always says connecting! I Tried everything. Still wont connect

  • Great tablet! fast and accurate mobile data/cellular data, got no problem at all!

  • How do u disconnect n reconnect the battery step by step

  • On second unit after not getting first to load software. Second unit is an upgraded refurb as the store no longer has new units. The keyboard quit working after upgrade so I cannot log onto wifi password. Going back for a refund as I have wasted too many hours and now 3 30 mile round trips to the store. These are JUNK!

  • I am having the same problem with mine

  • Really weak tablet, for being a 2015 model. The WIFI antenna is total crap, keeps losing connection at 1m from a router that covers easily 120m2 of office. Some apps I tried keep freezing, crashing and not working, and I'm totally sure it's not because of the OS. The updates made the tablet better (less crashes, a bit better wifi stability), but the problems are still here.

  • Too bright lcd, too much game, too loud...simple

  • Asus zenpad c 70 just buy 2 day but the battery one day I changer four time why like that

  • For Asus Zenpad C 7.0 (Z170CG) It is shown in the User Guide menu that came with it when U bought the pad. Open up carefully the clip on the lower left side at the back of the pad. U will see 3 slots. (1st > SIM 1, 2nd > SIM 2, 3rd > SD Card). YouTube vdo, an example for guidance on how to insert SIM card and SD Card.

  • Reset it by holding the power button for 15 seconds when it hangs. then uninstall the app that causes the device to freeze or unresponsive. keep your firmware updated.

  • Can you try your friend,s sim. May be thickness of sim card....

  • My asus have sim card problems a while ago its working properly but when i check it today my sim card is not detected what will i do? Please help .

  • No different to car manufacturer add 10k premium afveyize as a clean car or high gas mileage. If it is 1.1 GHz x...battery will be 3 hrs max....

  • Model z170CG altough is declared to work on Intel cpu at 1.1 GHz it is locked on 900 MHz. Also uses 32bit architecture instead of 64bit eich makes slow this wonderful unit. If they plan or not to put 5MP rear camera, then it will be bettet to remove ad saying about rear 5MP camera. Seems all models are equipped with 2MP rear camera. Looks like on every model ASUS declare one but deliver other configuration to end user.

  • I would like to ask if I can install a finder location to this tab or not...???

  • The placement of power switch is poor design. Goto your setting and disable the power switch be used as quick power off..also. clean you're screen more often.....there is a wipe die gesture which will shut unit without notice....I can,t find where the seting is....you need to email asus support.

  • My zenpad shuts down repeatedly and i can barely use it. What should i do? Please answer :) Thank you in advance.

  • please i need help..i cant use facebook program on lollipop 5.2 installed on my tab so i need to solve this problem app not open

  • 22E hours charging....check your cable and charger. Touch screen not responsive....do a factory reset...if still same problem..could be hardware... No dun slot because you bought the tablet not phone version. Check your model on google

  • My Asus ZenPad C7.0 touch screen is unresponsive. What can i do to settle this problem?

  • it seems i can't even unlock my ZenPad c7.0 after using not more than 24hour.What is the solution for this problem?

  • I still cant find a slot for micro sim I use wifi throughout... Does it use a sim at all??

  • Why does my zenpad say, "22 hours until full charge"? Is it normal or something? Please answer :)

  • Nice tab, no problems I can see except no java. But can you get web service on this tab?I use Wi-Fi but would like to use the service. Any help appreciated!

  • I started removing/disable google apps that I DON,T NEED. THE performance flies.

  • my zenpad c7.0 is charging very slowly

  • Pls list your games....

  • How to remove the lag in all game? I've update last firmware .. Help

  • Absolutely correct! In addition, please update system to April 19,2016 FOTA release. Go to settings->about-> version check. And accept the new system update. Update takes about 20minutes, you may see green android, rotating its belly, with its ears dancing around, over a black screen, during the update. After around 20 minutes its done, starts booting back to android, and then you get a better system up and running. This post was written using ZenPad c 7.0, over a slide touch keyboard.

  • Today May 5th ..Asus released a new firmware..took an hour to get it all updated and optimized.

  • You must allow the unit to update..do shstem update several times...get all your apl updates. Problem is google android is not very smart...take awhile to filly update and google does not tell you they are updating...it slow down unit..hangs...if you interrupted .it will need to restart again.

  • I really hope they will improve the battery capacity and my zenpad always hang.... like always.... disappointed

  • Not true.otherwise those are fake Asus phones.

  • Why my zenpad suddenly can't open?

  • I have bought my asus zenpad c 7.0 the other day. At first few hours of using (full charged battery) it goes really well. I get to check every apps that are already installed in the pad. Until later it shuts down when i know that the battery is still ok. It shuts down 2x that day so I've decided to leave it turned off the whole evening then. The next morning, it shuts down several times. So I've decided to return it to the outlet where i bought it. The costumer service tried to fix it but failed so he gave me another unit. But it still shuts down like the first one. What to do? Can you give me a response to my complaint? Honestly I am supposed to buy acer iconia ,but bought your product instead because i heard yours is much better and now i dont know... i dont want to regret. I am looking forward to your reply.. thank you. :-)

  • Winnie Try clear czche first Start in safe mode Drag and delete kkd modereboot

  • I updated the system recently. After reboot, it cannot enter and only stayed at the start up screen, with the little circle keep circling. Is there anyone know how to fix this? Many thanks.

  • We've got the c7.0 yesterday as a present. Very happy. The installation went very well. Then I saw the child modus and decided because of my 3 yr old to turn that on. Big mistake! After that it kept saying child modus has stopped. That message keeps on popping up on screen but we can't do anything about it. Tried to hard reset it after the battery was completely full but without any luck. In stead of the menu we get to see the green android screen but nothing else. Even starting up in safe mode doesn't resolve the issue. What else can we do? If even hard reset doesn't help. Help???

  • Thank you I thought my tablet was going to explode because it was sooooo hot note my zenpad is on 5.0 I was so happy because it was going to update but p.s I hope its marshmallow ) then it took a lot of time I commented on Asus YouTube channel and still no feed back again thank you it might be weird to tell you the story

  • To Fan I agree updates get this c7 sorks smoothly...I had many updates..some odd behaviours if hou don,t plaer off to let it re boot..once a shile I do a 12 sec plser button reset. Never has sifi issue on mine. I have standard setting on sifi. I really hope c7 sill het a Marshmallow update....saves battery more and better security too. My c7 is not rooted

  • Please take a note that any new device would perform laggy for the first month or so out of the box. The reason is simple. Once a device is fresh new out of the box, android lollipop requires many auto updates. These updates takes time and are overloading the system. You should expect the laggy behaviour to stop after about first month of use. In addition to the android updates there are also numerous asus fota updates which you must accept and fully install. It also takes time and patience. This post is written over ZenPad c 7.0 using the snappy slide keyboard. This device is about 8 month old and works like a charm. Excellent device, excellent experience. Highly recommended.

  • Bought my asus zenpad c recently when my 4 years old acer a810 finally broke down. Day 1 faced with power on failure. No reaponse whatsoever when i press the power button. After about 46 hours of charging the asus powered on by itself. Then it is downhill from there. Intel is not meant for android tablet thats for sure. The perfomance is slow and full of bugs. Not to mention the failure on the speaker where most games will just go silent. The tablet heat up like microwave after just 30 minutes of usage. Internet was so slow it took most of my day just finding the solution which is non. My most regret is buying this asus zenpad c.

  • Update not resolving issue with wifi... Does anyone has a problem with the speaker out? Only left speaker is out, mono.. This tablet really suck

  • I have updated the software to its latest version, updated all the apps that needs to be, but I'm still having problem with connecting to WIFI. Had to forget then connect for roughly 3 times before I can get connected. How can this be fixed? :(

  • Update it again and again

  • Try to update again and again. I own both ZenPad c7 and ZenPad 7. Most of the problem are solved by just updating. If there's no luck. Take it back to the store if it still covers yours 1year warranty

  • Try to update it. I am a seller already encountered this kind of problem.I found the solution by just updating.

  • Try changing encryption setting of your router to wpa2(AES)

  • My asus zenpad had updated its software this morning, and after that, i cant use the keyboard anymore, i cant type anything aside from my passcode, as there was no keyboard detected. Any help please. Thank you

  • my Zenpad C 7.0 always hang, takes time to connect on wifi, can't launch facebook and other applications(instagram, coc, clash royale.,etc) connected on my facebook account. and this shutdown when the battery percentage is below 20%. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, THIS IS A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!

  • I got the same problem

  • i got the same problem, after downloading applications, i can't launch them and even got stock so I have to restart my tablet. This model of zenpad is a waste of money!

  • just upgrade your apps to the newest Google play games google store update it all

  • I buy a zenpad but the problem is i cant connect to my wifi asus is not good.....

  • I'm not sure which to buy. This or the ZenPad 8.0 Z380KL (SGD $299) whcich is $100 more expansive than this (SGD $199). Both aren't really good but I want to use it for Bible Reading or playing social media games like Roblox.

  • that's my issue after getting the tab. all you have to do is update the operating system. :)

  • if you want a tablet for gaming the first thing you need to find out is the tablet's GPU, in this case it's an old MALI 450MP4, second is the RAM, a measly 1GB, of course it'l disappoint in gaming. nowhere does asus state that you can play hi def games on this. don't blame the device if you don't know anything about it

  • Why does my zenpad blackout and then hang? please comment for fixes. Thanks

  • Correct, there is a new update available also when you check version. The update is from march 2016. But its timestamp signature says 20160224. And yes, this update is better than all previous updates, including december 2015. Please move to the March 2016 update, 20160224. This post is written over ZenPad c 7.0, enjoying the slide touch keyboard.

  • My tablet will not come on. It starts to boot up and load but then nothing happens, just goes dark. What do i do??

  • It is a good thing that you updated to latest 20160224 ASUS FOTA. Within first two weeks, for a brand new ZenPad out of the box, you should expect google Android to behave very busy. Since it keeps updating applications. While android is updating you may feel some lag. This lag will go away within a few weeks privided that you keep updating android. Most updates are automatic. Do not block android updates, simply let them finish. Once all updates are done, your experience will be much better. This post written using ZenPad c 7.0.

  • Hi FAN, I am just about to install new firmware. I found a new update, newer than "FAN" is talking about,it's from the Mart 4th 2016. I would like if "FAN" tell me, is it beter this new one update,(what is logical for me) or i must install the update from December.... Please, if you read the this, tell me what to do... And, i found the update from the oder way, not from checking for new update from setings-about-checking updates, that way it wouldn't give me nothing.

  • This did not work, what type of Asus Zenpad do you have!? mine did not vibrate nor reset, the Wifi still shows an authentication error when attempting to connect.

  • I really trust the wrong person------fan.......I spend money to buy this c7 and after two weeks, I found that is even worse than my samsung note 1; the performance speed is slow, switch between apps slow, wake up slow.....I cant really find a single thing that is fast. And for fan, please dont tell me upgrade to the latest firmware as i did it 20160224....i should go for samsung....

  • That is the problem with Asus phone. If you are lucky you get the good one, but sometimes we are not lucky, we got the set thats always hang. I got my first Asus Zenfone 5, then it always hang, I gave it to my niece. She keep on complaining. However, to replace that I got an Asus Zenfone 6, used for the past 2 years, seems ok. Then I bought another Asus Zenpad C7.0, however, a day used, my niece grumble because it always hang. The vendor refused to change, though hardly used a day, however, send for repair, now it seems ok. Hope Asus will improve the quality of its goods in order to tab the huge market around the world. The price is attractive, put with little punch it can even compete with Samsung. So far I am satisfied. Looking forward to get the Zenfone 2 deluxe for myself, but still trauma with the Zenfone 5 and the Zenpad C7.0 from my niece. Should i go ahead?

  • I too am very disappointed with this tablet, it is not fit for purpose and all I use it for is emails and internet browsing. I have updated it to latest version and the screen still regularly becomes unresponsive and has to be turned off/on. The tablet also turns itself off at random. The battery capacity is very poor. It was full charged yesterday, used for about half an hour and then inadvertently left on stand by overnight. This morning the battery is again totally flat.

  • Long Press Power button for about 12 secs then release then again press it for 4 sec then after vibration device will boot

  • thank you it also worked in my zenpad, did it just now :) no need for me to go to any asus service center :)) thanks a alot.

  • what will i do my asus zen pad did'nt open i already charge but still not open? pls help me?

  • How do I transfer data from my ZenPad internal memory to my storage card?

  • Thanks it works

  • Try realized

  • my battery drains faster. what shoud i do??

  • Rest assured, your ZenPad is okay, your other brand phone is probably not 7 inch...and it was probably expensive too, more money for a smaller screen.... Heating and battery drainage goes hand in hand. The more screen is on on full brighness, the hotter the device gets... it is true for any device in this size. The duration on which you can run on battery will varry depend on how long you keep the screen on, and what level of screen brightness you are using. Keep in mind that this is a 7 inch device. With such a large screen, keeping screen on for over an hour, for example watching long movie, or playing non stop games, without bio breaks. Such long usage will exhaust battery faster. However if your device is about 50% in standby mode, for example in your pocket, then you should expect over 1 to 2 days battery life. Same goes for heat. The device is likely to heat if screen is lit for long duration. And if brightness is set to max. This post was written over ZenPad c 7.0, enjoying the slide touch keyboard.

  • The speed of the asus tablet is slow and lagging. Even after i updated to the latest fireware. The touch screen is also not responsive. Other than that battery life is bad. luckily this is the thinnest and best looking tablet. But disappointed with the performance overall.

  • how to open the connection?

  • is it normal for zenpad c to have heating issue at the back? like not that normal heat. because I also have a Samsung phone and then I recently bought a Zenpad C. I tried to use the tablet for browsing and its kinda hot at the back near the sim area. not happening to my Samsung phone tho. I know its quad core and it functions fast but is it normal for the heat? im kinda disturbed. and one more thing. I read some reviews and some of them said that its good when it comes to battery life. im experiencing a quick battery loss when Im using my zenpad. if there is someone who can tell me the normal battery consumption of zenpad c, that would be great because there might be some factory defect on this unit that needs replacement.

  • Could you please be more specific. What exactly is not working for you? What is hanging? What do you mean by "even the smallest thing hangs". Nothing is hanging provided you upgrade your device correctly. What do you mean by battery drains?, ZenPad has sn excelkent standby battery life, provided you are using it correctly. Please specify exactly which version is your ZenPad from? what date? And how long are you using it? Your comments looks shallow without any meaningful details. This post is written over ZenPad c 7.0, using the ZenPad slide keyboard.

  • ZenPad has a great performance. ZenPad performs as well as higher end fluff models. But you pay ten times less money. Those high end fluff phone models, they charge you ten times more, but zenpad gives you same experience for a decent price. And great battery life. Lasts 2 days on full charge, when using battery manager, and mixed standby and media. Please read these posts, to find how to enjoy your zenoad as I do for the last half a year, since august 2015. • This is a reminder to make sure that your ZenPad is updated to latest version from december 2015. Many users are posting here that their devices are new and hang or fets into black screen, with latest updates, there are no such problems. Many users also complains that they do updade and still get problems. However one update is not enough. Usually it takes a few updates, to reach the latest best version from december 2015. Please check your version. You must upgrade a new zenpad out of the box. Make sure to register the device with ASUS, using the registration application. When you register with ASUS, you get automatic updates. Go to settings, about, version. Go there and do version check. You will be prompt to upgrade. The upgrade takes around 20 minutes. While upgrading you will see a green android with its ears dancing around, it is normal. Be patient, until upgrade ends. Note that you may need more than 5 updates in order to reach latest version from december 2015. The latest version is the best. Make sure you reach it. You can see the date in the version id, which is a long string, you cannot miss it!, in settings, about, version in the format yyyymmdd .This post is written over ZenPad c 7.0

  • Hi, right now my Asus Zenpad was hang after I'm viewing Twitter. I cant shutdown it or do anything. BTW I only use it for 1 month only. Please help. My email : [email protected]

  • With the Latest ASUS ZenPad 7 update , ZenPad never hangs. Never goes black screen and works smooth and fast as a rocket. And the touch screen working great. Which version are you on? You should be on December 2015 FOTA update. This post is written using ZenPad c 7.0, enjoying the ASUS slide touch keyboard.

  • I just opened my tablet yesterday and after a system upgrade this **** thing just died and everytime I turn it on, it just dies after a few seconds. This is so frustrating coz I love my Asus ZenPhone. What should I do?!?!

  • This is a reminder to make sure that ASUS zenpad is on latest FOTA software update. Note that in order to get ZenPad on latest version and enjoy the best in class performance, you must do more than 5 updates in a row, for a new device out of the box. Once you finish all updates, go to settings, about, version. Check the version ID. The version string has a date in it. In the format of yyyymmdd. Make sure that the date is from December 2015. If it is not from December 2015, then you need to continue updating the device. This post is written over ZenPad c 7.0.

  • Its always turnning off recently the touch screen keep on hang!always get blank when i use!its feel like i get dispointed.i hate this thing

  • This ZenPad is fast as a rocket. Very smooth run. Make sure to update to latest december 2015 FOTA, to enjoy the blast performance.

  • FOTA, stands for:"firmware over the air". It means that your phone supports software upgrades, automatically, over WiFi connection. Not all phones support it. ZenPad does support FOTA. Therefore a brand new ZenPad out of the box, does not contain latest ASUS updates. And you must upgrade it, current latest FOTA version, is from december 2015. You can easily check the FOTA version by opening, settings.about.version. the date isvwrigten in the version as yyyymmdd.

  • Disconnect charger, then press the power button for 12 sec. Let go, the press again for 4 sec. Until you feel a vibrate. The zenpad will boot to android lollipop.Try it. Then check for updates, in setting, about, version check. Register with ASUS, and download and install all updates over WiFi. This post was written over my ZenPad c 7.0.

  • Very slow, quadcore cpu runs at maximum 900mhz. Need to manually configure in power management menu to run cpu fixed at maximum speed all the time

  • i just buy my asus zenpad c7.0 yesterday i follow da intruction of da sales lady ect.....but today i felt shock becos its turning off wid its own but dis was fully charge.its hapen 5:00 pm until now 11pm it didnt work, wat hapen oh God,wat can i do

  • What fota version are you on? What date version? Please check.

  • What fota version are you on?

  • Have the same problem. Keeps restarting and can't turn on my WiFi after installing new firmware. WTF!!!

  • Make sure to update FOTA all thru, until version shows date from December 2015. If you do so, then no more freezes, no more black screens, no more turning off. And your ZenPad device will work smooth. This post is written over ZenPad 7, using ASUS slide keyboard.

  • Yup its annoying, I got mine for christmas and it keeps turning off and on when it feels like it, I hate that

  • A few words about general look and feel, while using ZenPad. Using this device feels very smooth experience, provided you made sure to update to December 2015 FOTA. There are cool applications built in, like super note, which are very cool to use, the large screen is excellent for media, with vivid live colors. Connectivity is made excellent with WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and dual SIM cellular on the go. There is nothing that this ZenPad cannot do compared with the fluffy high end expensive brand models. And it cost 5 to 10 times less. This post is written over ZenPad.

  • A few words about battery life. ZenPad battery lasts 1 to 2 days, when used as phone device. Which means that it is used in mixed standby mode, screen off, and also media mode, ehen screen is on. Please make sure to turn on ASUS battery manager, in order to enjoy the longer battery life. Please configure most applications to be managed by the battery manager. Otherwise, the applications consumes the battery much faster. Some people complains that their battery drains after a few hours. Of course, if you continuously watching media for hours, or playing games continuously, non stop, then screen is on for along time which get the battery drains faster. This is true for any phone or tablet. Screen on continuously is what drains batteries. This post I write over ZenPad, enjoying ASUS slide touch keyboard. Highly recommended.

  • This device does everything I need it to do, and it cost around 5 to 10 times less comparing to high end fluffy brand models. Highly recommended.

  • A few words about flash player support. Also high end expensive and fluffy phone models do not suport flash player out of the box. And why? Because flash player over android requires complex installation. Android phone and tablets have touch screen displays, which are challenging for flash player, which is designed for larger screens. Please avoid blaming CPU, Atom or SoFIA, since flash player suport has nothing to do with CPU. Personally,I focus on what I can do with ZenPad, instead of what I cannot do. I have been using ZenPad for over half a year, and it has been great for me. I highly recommend, you can do a lot with it, and it is very cheap. This post I write over ZenPad enjoying ASUS slide touch keyboard

  • I just brought my zenpad last january , and i forgot the 8 hrs initial charge , what are the effects of this ???

  • Got zenpad c7.0 as gift this week...got latest firmware.use asus battery mgr..I have only on app allowed kn bk grnd..yet still drain battery fast..Occasional, 5 times do far, when I touch screen..unit shut down itself. Overall, a tablet for occasional us.still debating whether I should root it or not. My first post too.

  • Touch screen problem...always hang...just buy 2 week,not good

  • hard to turn on, deeeep sleeeeep

  • Its already crashed in less then 2 weeks

  • It is no secret that android mobile devices are draining the batteries. it is because many applications are configured to run in the background. In addition, android updates many applications automatically, and the update configure these apps to run in the background. Running applications in background keeps the system awake, and consumes battery. It is highly recommended to use ASUS battery maanager, and disable most apps from background running. In addition, need to repeat disabling background apps, after each android updates.

  • battery easily drains when continously been used for only a short span of time (2-3 hrs.)

  • Very poor device..it totally crashed after 5-6 days using it..also hard to turn on..battery only last for 1 day even if you are not using it often..not recommendable if anyone want to buy it..

  • fan There are two cases of charging (2 modes): (1) charge when zenpad on (2) charge when zenpad is turned off. In mode (1) , the device is on, so you will see a small battery icon with zigzag stripe in it at the top left part of the screen , it is very small though..... While in mode (2) the device is off, so you will see a large battery icon filling up, painted on most of the screen, you cannot miss it... Keep in mind that when you charge a device while it is off, then you will not be able to turn it on. You must disconnect charger, press the power button for 12 sec. Let go, then press power button for 4 sec. Untill you feel a vibrate. Only then android will boot up. Try it!

  • It!s a pain in the ass. One week after I bought it, the system crashed. I sent it to the service, they told me they changed the main card. It can't be even opened. The other serious problem is, when you put it on charge, there is no sign that you can see if its charging.

  • You must be confusing this ZenPad device with other models of ZenFone, somef the zenfone models has dual selfie videeo features. Read the specs before you pay the $'s.

  • I am on latest ASUS FOTA update from December 11, 2015. And my ZePpad WIFi works great. Which version date are you on?

  • what a disappointment. thought there where secondary selfie video. end up there were none!! only primary...and i paid $260 for it! great regret!

  • Don't buy, after updating to latest Android, you won't be able to connect to WiFi

  • try MX player :) .. nice player of all..

  • ofcoz zenpad better

  • For business, it will be great. Wide screen yet small enough. It has dual SIM, to use for cellular. GPS for in car navigation with Bluetooth handsfree. And it has WIFi for internet, and slso for FOTA updates which arrives freqently from ASUS, and boost your device performance with each update. Android lollipop with all latest google features, enables all your meeting reminders and messages on your top screen for easy reviewing. I enjoy this device since august 2015,and I highly recommend it.

  • It is well known that crashes, in phones, are not due to CPU. Instead, crashes are caused due to bad application SW , bugs in OS, and lollipop android. In particular, when people install bad misbehave game application over newer OS such as lollipop. Clash of Clan, also known as CoC, is one such an example. Therefore, please avoid blaming CPU, or Atom or x3. If you keep installing buggy old applications.... Please check what version is your FOTA update. You shall be on December 2015 FOTA update to get the best in class performance.

  • In fact, every update I get superior performance, comparing to previous update. Since August 2015, when I bought zenpad I counted around 8 updates. The latest December 2015 is the best ASUS FOTA update ever. Now, my zenpad device runs smoothly over lollipop, and never ceashes. I am already looking forward to 2016 updates. Highly recommended.

Many posts complains about black screens problems which are already resolved in latest ASUS FOTA update. Go to settings, about, version. If your version is not dated to december 2015, 20151211, then please press on version update button. Soon enough you will get a popup advicing to download latest FOTA. Better downliad over WiFi, then installation lasts 20 minutes. Repeat this until version is latest.

  • Great tablet for the day that I owned it. I had it less than 24 hours and it stopped working. It was new out of the box too. It may be an isolated experience, but I do not recommend this tablet. If you want to risk it and it turns out ok for you, great. It was a great tablet while it worked.

  • hi fellas!!! how is the battery life? how long it lasts with average browsing and watching videos?? specs looking decent and almost all tabs in the range have similar specs... so i want to buy it today... heard that asus devices gives good battery back up... pls give me your heads up

  • I've only had this device for less than a month, so it's possible that my opinion of the Zenpad may change over time. When I bought the original Nexus 7 tablet (2012) I swore I'd never buy another product from Asus ever again. However, with the price of the Zenpad being so low, I thought I'd give them one more chance. All in all I'm happy with this device. I'm not a gamer so this tablet is fast enough for my needs. If you're looking for a gaming device I couldn't recommend the Zenpad. It's fine for watching Youtube, checking Emails and Facebook. The GPS also works well.

  • set up Skype contacts video call don't work go straight to phone why is this I have the ASUS Zenpad C 70 I purchased it last week

  • Yeah. Buying this zenshit is the first asus product that i bought and this would be the last as well. Too many software issues on top of its problem that it wont turn on at times and you need to do the 12 seconds - - 4 seconds power button press just to put it back to life. Aaaarghh. Sorry for venting out my frustration here. F*ck!!!

  • My zenpad c7.0 can't play 720p mkv video and can't running games smoothly. How to fix it?

  • my zenpad P01V sensor and tilt is not responding.how to fix this?need help.

  • When you see a green droid robot with its ears dancing around, then it means that your ZapPad started the ASUS update (FOTA). Please be patient, and let the device finish the update. The update duration is around 15 to 20 minutes. Once the update is over, the device will boot to android by itself.

  • Had my Asus C 7.0 for 3 weeks and charged up fine but went to charge up using supplied charger and usb and being told 3 DAYS to charge up!. Any ideas?

  • I can run VainGlory with it with good framerate. Most games that I tried doesnt lag on this device. when you experience a low framerate game with for example Heroes of Order and Chaos it means that the game has issues or not compatible with the Intel Processor

Connecting to the internet over 3G or WiFi. Connect with people o er voice or data. Use it with Bluetooth headsets or in your hands free bluetooth in your car. Nevigate with it over GPS. Uss antpy application you wish, over google 5.02 android lollipop, and ZenUI .

  • I switch on my tab and it keeps reading as if it is about to open to the home page but cannot open. Pls help

  • But why my zenpad realy lags when playing mc5??

  • Yes it's a good tablet. For a cheap price it performs well. And asus does regularly update this device with software updates. Some might have problems with it (defective models) but it performs well. the Mali 450 gpu that can be found same with the Nexus 2013 performs well with casual and perform good with hard games like Asphalt 8 and Modern Combat 5. VainGlory performs real great here as well

  • Thanks for the info, it works my tablet have a power again

  • Dears, I want to buy from this model. Do you recommend me to buy? Thanks

  • Glad it helped you. Please do mame sure to upgrade your system to latest 20151120 FOTA release.

  • Wow, this method worked for me when my asus tablet decided to shut down and never turn on. But my question is why does this happen? How come we need to press the power button twice with different amount of time just to to turn it on? Asus lost me there.

  • I am a technical dummy and within a few minutes had mine connected using my Lg Stylo as hotspot, love it

I have to restart the device multiple times before and forget the network over and over again before it will let me connect. It will take half of the day before it could connect tot the wifi. Other devices that I have can connect without a problem so I pretty sure its not a router issue. Can anyone help me please? Thanks a lot.

  • I jut got my brand-new zenpad but the after I left it downloading apps at night, it stops working in the morning. I can't even turn it on and even charging it doesn't work :( And it feels like I was just wasting my money on it. I does anybody here has the same problem with me? Or anyone can help me with this?

  • Please do update the ASUS system to latest Oct.22 2015 release, and also allow for a day or two for android lollipop to stablizize. Android lollipop fresh out of the box usually requires many updates, while android is updating you may feel some lag. This lag will eliminate once android is done updating. As said before, you are clever to do the multiple ASUS system updates (FOTA). It will benefit you greatly.

  • My zenpad disappointed me a lot its brand new but it have a lot of problems pertaining into hanging, no wireless network And not charging.. it

  • I have this problem of the device will get into emergency call only after leaving the device idle for a while and after that it not detect any of my sim...what should i do

  • this device looks good but everytime Im opening the wifi its too slow to connect I need to forget then again and again until it was connected, also have an update often times ..

  • yes it is good... it depends on how the user will going to use...

  • I bought this device (ZenPad C 7 3G) because it was cheap, and I wanted a tablet that I could put my 10 GB SIM card in. I'm fairly happy with it. Compaired to high-end devices, it has it's obvious flaws. The battery doesn't last all that long, and it has frozen a couple of times. It started freezing on lock screen after I put an extra SIM card in slot 2. I'm still waiting to see if it freezes without the second SIM card... Also, it seems that ASUS put slow memory in the device. It takes about 4 times longer to load a book in Kindle on this device than on my Note 3 (which also has Lollipop). It is slower to load web pages than a fast tablet. But other than those issues, I am actually happy with it. It fits easily in my jacket pocket. The screen is bright and fairly sharp, the sound is good, and it doesn't lag when playing or streaming videos (or reading books). For what I paid for it, I think I got a lot of value for my money.

  • Useless device the only reason I kept it is that I lost the receipt, can't understand why Android let devices like this to go on the market, very slow in any action camera slow to open plus the resolution from 80s, gaming ? forget it specially games like real racing 3 or modern combat 5

  • Hi, i just bought this device today. I want to update to the 20151006 version, but when i check the update via setting, it doesnt detect the newest udpate. Anybody has any solution ? I am logged in to asus account by the way

  • Same prob as mine . :(

  • Hi, I have issues on my zenpad using smart network, I cant send messages using Smart mobile number? Does anyone knows how to fix this? thanks.

  • Please sign in with ASUS account over WiFi internet connection, and the update to latest version 20151006

  • Make sure to turn on the ASUS battery manager, which makes sure to optimize idle power consumption, turning off applications background activity. Battery is not replacable. Over my ZenPad device I get over 2 days of usage oncull charge.

  • Just bought it last night. It is annoying when I download the apps, very slow. Thought my Wi-Fi is weak. Updating the version now, hope it will be better, starting to regret sold my ASUS k012 for this. Keep updating, thanks for all tips.

  • Battery gets drained easily..is the battery replaceable?

  • My asus zenpad c7.0 is switching off itself when download, txt and updates. And it always hangs

  • My ASUS ZENPAD C7.0 is switching off itself when i download, txt or update.

  • You may need to update FOTA firmware to latest 20151006 version, did you do that?

  • Please check on which version are you on. Go to setting about version, and check version date in the format 2015mmdd

  • My Asus zenpad c 0.7 is switching off it's self when i download or update something y is that

  • Facebook issue fail to install! Does any one can solve it?

  • hold power button for 12 sec then if it was charging it will show the charging thing then take the charger out then hold the power button for a further 3 sec then it should turn on

  • I have this problem of the device will get into emergency call only after leaving the device idle for a while. Only way to recover is to reboot. I believe it is the same problem with another post. I just updated my firmware to 20151006, I hope it will fix the problem. Monitoring now. I am cursing myself for buying this piece of unstable junk.

  • Make sure you update multiple times, because updtates are sequential. First update is from June to July. Then to August, twice, and then to September. By the way, there is a brand new October update 20151006.

  • Excellent. Great catch! So one must create an ASUS account and register the device before one can get the auto FOTA updates over WiFi. Make sense.

  • Thank you fan. I had black screen for two days and thought my Zenpad was broken then I read your post and finally got the battery charging icon to show. What types of programs are buggy? I obviously have many as I get black screen a lot and would like to remove them. Thanks again for you post. It was most helpful

  • solved, first time i open this device, i skip all the wizard coz no internet and not create asus acount. today i create asus account from the wizard, then i can update

  • i cant get update to from 201506 then i get update from using 201508 WW_V12.26.4.19 (download the .zip file and put it in internal storage root) still cant upgrade to 201509 or 201510 (WW_V12.26.4.28) but still than 201506

  • It sounds like your device needs system update. The video zoom in bug was already fixed I latest FOTA system release from Sep.4, 2015. Check your version,in about version, which version are you using?

  • You must be connected over WiFi, before you try to update. Also keep in mind that you may need 3 to 4 updates from 062015 to 092015

  • Are these updates available in the Philippines? Coz ive been trying time and again to update from 062015 and nothing happens...

  • I bought a zenpad 7.0 a few days ago and I really am having some issues. Firstly, the signal suddenly disappears and the only way to get it back is to restart it. some said that you need to turn on and off the airplane mode but it does not work. second, when I am taking a video and I zoom it, it hangs! you have to restart your phone again. I really like its design but these bugs are really annoying!

  • the material used on the cable apparently affects charging time(and i guess u can say the quality of power transferred to the device, i'm no physicist so i cant explain further). i noticed this with my zenphone 5, i have a zenphone powerbank as well. and charging using the provided cable in the powerbank is faster than the much longer cheap cable i bought previously. and the powerbank also lasts longer(more charges) using the short original cable. charging time i dont remember exactly the difference but it is very significant(more than an hour i think).

  • This start up problem is just too annoying. It does it all the time. Just not acceptable on a name brand tablet.

  • I have 3 ASUS devices at home, 2 Memo pad HD tablets and 1 Zenfone 5, and they haven't failed me so far which is why I bought the Zenpad 7 - bang for the buck features and design which matches the top tier brands at 1/3rd the cost and its a tab phone, so 1 less device for me to carry. I've been using the Zenpad for 3 weeks now and have updated to the latest release keys (2015-09-11) yet I've also encountered the "black screen" or powering off issue a few times, mostly when I leave the tablet overnight to charge. one thing I noticed is that it does this when I used it with a different cable - not the Asus provided one but a cheap data cable, it turned off after I left it unattended. Also when I charged it via PC overnight, it turned off a couple of times and didn't charge (only about 20+% overnight) using another cheap cable (I've got a handful of them due to other devices) but the tablet was very warm. so what I do now is either; a) turn off bluetooth (I use a BT headset) but leave wifi on and put it in Ultra-saving mode (default power saver app) then let it charge - from less than 20% it usually takes about 2-3 hours to full charge b) charge it with the ASUS charger overnight both options using the provided ASUS cable. Now I am NOT at all a believer of expensive cables vs. regular ones and i have a few of the cheap cables around the house and office so I still use those to charge the zenpad but dont leave it for too long, maybe up to an hour or so. What I noticed is my zenpad charges fairly fast anyway so I can bear with this little hiccup until they fix it with a new release or something. So far that is my only issue with the device but everything else is performing very well. hope this helps.

  • How many mAh is Li-Po battery (13 Wh) ? Thanks

  • Just one BIG statement. Choose this device instead of Samsung Tab 4 7.0 (With feelings)

  • I have a plan to buy a ta phone.. Which is good ???

  • i just bought asus zen pad z370 , after update sundenly screen black out.. damm i try restart hold powet button about 12 seconds , is work.. since after update . wifi conection a bit weak.

  • Personally, I have been using ZenPad c 7.0, for about one and a half months already ,and it is working great for me. Especially since the last Sep, 4, 2015 FOTA system release. With so many connectivity options, cellular and navigation capabilities, I enjoy every minute using it. It has a great user interface and used experience. It is highly portable, slim, and a cool device to carry around town. My household already owns two such devices, and I now consider buying a third one. Just imagine you can buy 3 such devices and still it would be under priced comparing to the higher fluff models, without compromising on quality.

  • zenpad 7 very disappointing .. !!! Often jammed every night .. !!! very disappointing..!!

  • same experience here i hope we can complain it with the dti...they just waste our money for thier profit...customer sre really unsatisfied

  • There could be many reasons for a device not turning on. This sympthom also known as 'black screen'. A black screen usually happens due to rogue code in certain application. It does not mean that the application is a virus. It simply means that the application contains certain bugs, which accesses HW peripherals or memory, in illegal way according to Android lollipop policies. In this case the screen turns black, and there's no way to turn the device on. Many older phones required taking the battery out and then back in as a recovery. Since in zenpad the battery is internal, the method is the long press instead. This matbod always works. Since the cause of the black screen are certain aapplications, Especially applications which do not adapt well to lollipop 5,x, then it is easy to understand why certain users do not experience the black screen, while others do. The users which do not experience the black screen are not running buggy applications.

  • Whats the cause of not turning on?

  • Press the power button over 12 sec. Let go. The press the power button for 3 sec. Until you feel a vibrate. Try it.

  • Press the power button for over 12 sec. Then let go. Then press the power button for 3 sec. Until you feel a vibrate. Then let go. The device will start . Try it.

  • Its good unit , what matter is ,i can download video from web.

  • Your observation is clever and correct. Indeed, application loading takes an extra 1 sec. Delay, hopfully it will be fixed in a next ASUS update. Now, about the installation of applications which takes longer. This is not because of ZenPad, but because of Android lollipop 5.x. As you mentioned, your old phone installs application faster, since it runs an older version of android. In Android 5.x ART replaced Delvik. With the old Delvik concept, applications installed faster as java byte code, but required JIT (just in time) compilation to native binary, each time app is running. While with the new ART in lollipop application are compiled to binary duration instalation and storage (AOT, ahead of time). This approach takes longer install, but apps should load faster, comparing to old Delvik/JIT and also takes less RAM to run, comparing to old Delvik.

  • bought the item for just a month now, and guess what.. it won't turn on! :s

  • I just wanted to do a follow up on this tablet. When it does work its decent. I notice major lag/delay when you're downloading apps from google play store while watching a video on youtube or browsing the web. Most of the time there is a 1-2sec delay when opening apps or transitioning from one app to another. Expect to use CCleaner or Clean Master to free up RAM on the device. I uninstalled and disabled most of the bloated software from this tablet, but I can't reallly notice the gains in performance. When it does it work its your average tablet that allows you to use google chrome, youtube, check email and play some games. If you can tolerate the minor delays then this is your tablet for $100 at most retail stores, and $89.99 Free Shipping on Amazon. It looks like I'll be keeping a hold onto this item. I hope this review helps.

When it does work its your average tablet that allows you to use google chrome, youtube, check email and play some games. Its been a while since I owned a tablet but the battery life is mediocre. Expect to have a car charger if you're on the road constantly using it. I'm not sure if its common for other Android Tablets but installation of apps took longer than normal being that I owned a android phone and installation took 5-10 seconds where this took about 1-2mins. What I like about this tablet is the display colors due to the IPS screen. Text on the screen is very legible in my opinion. With all my gripes mainly about the delay, If you can tolerate it then you could purchase this ablet for $100 at most retail stores, and $89.99 Free Shipping on Amazon. It looks like I'll be keeping a hold onto this item. I hope this review helps.

  • As said before there is no lag nor restarts over c 7.0 model, after you let android lollipop finish to do all the fresh out of the box much needed updates. And after you do all system updates to Sep. 2015 Asus release. Users who patiently do this, will see all lagging eliminated within a few days of first use.

  • Choosing between zenpad 7.0 (z370cg) and zenpad c 7.0 (z170cg) is indeed tricky. Personnaly, I prefer the cheaper model and I will explain why. In terns of performance, they are equal. The 2G ram does not provide an edge over the 1G ram. You can do well with 1 GB RAM since Asus manages the applications very well. And if you make sure to close application which you are not using. Some users may prefer the z370cg due to higher resolution camera . 8MP inststead of 2MP, and also because the higher resolution screen which is 1280/800 instead 1024/600. If you are going to use the device as your phone, then you do not need these upgrades. You also do not need the fluff feature of replacing the back covers. All in all, z170cg is more portable . it is thinner and as you said it has dual SIM. It is neat and cheap. It serves all my day to day needs and fits into all my pockets.

  • so the update fixed the bugs. the remaining problem is only coc? how bout for other games is it fast like no/slight difference between zenpad 7 2gb?

  • This worked thanks..i wanted my pad replaced but turns out supercell games causes this shut down :(

  • but regarding the restart lagging issue on other reason, is already fixed by the previous update? or still have the same issues? and regarding the c 7 and 7. any big difference in performance? having 1gb and 2gb on the other? still deciding as what to buy because c 7 is dual sim yet 1gb ram while on the other hand 7 is single sim yet 2gb ram but the prices have big differences here in the Philippines. any suggestion? priority is the restart lagging issues.

  • You will have to check with SuperCell game company if they fixed their bugs over Android lollipop 5.0.2. Last time I checked in SuperCell site forums about clash of clans bugs, there were no such fixes available, only some suggested workarounds which did not work for most users over various brands of tablets and phone pads models.

  • Clash of clan restart and freezes are bugs from SuperCell game company, which their games are buggy over android lollipop 5.0.2

  • just gonna ask if the restarting issue regarding clash of clans have been fix already. I'm planning to buy zenpad 7 the 2gb ram model. as I will use it abroad. is it already fix in the latest update Sept 2015?

  • Please do update the system to latest Sep.4 2015 release, and also allow for a day or two for android lollipop to stablizize. Android lollipop fresh out of the box usually requires many updates, while android is updating you may feel some lag. This lag will eliminate once android is done updating. As said before, you are clever to do the multiple system updates. It will benefit you greatly.

  • Yeah I feel you guys on this one. I purchased this item at Frys Electronics because the display model was very snappy and smooth. When I came home and started to use it fresh out of the box there was a considerable amount of lag. I'm currently doing multiple software updates and I'll see from there. I got what i paid for.....but i'll end up returning it if the issue is still consistent.

  • Go to settings, about, version info. If your version is not from Sep. 4, 2015, then You must start system update of the device. In this case, go to settings, about, system update. Then start update check. ILet the system update download and also allow it to install. It may take around 15 min, including reboot, system upgrade and a new bootstrap,so be patient. Note that there were 4 updates pushed by ASUS recently, so you may need to repeat the process 4 times. Please be patient. It will greatly improve your user experience.

  • really disappointed with this tablet. i just received yesterday, and haven't tried for 30mins, and this tablet cannot use at all. how come a brand new mobile device can perform like this?

  • sry but i only used it for 2 days and it hangged at menu after i entered the password. such a big dissapointment for this pad.

  • My ZenPad was performed really badly because it could not even handle the casual game such as piano tiles 2 and subway surf.....it was extremely lag....I'm so disappointed with it...what can I do to improve my ZenPad performance??? Thanks in advance...

  • Will it supports otg?

  • over my device I sent many 3G TXT messages and all are successful. Are you on latest version? In some cases TXT messages May fail on certain cellular provider when you switch a device.

  • Plase note that there is a new ASUS auto FOTA update. After updating make sure that the settings, about, version info, has Sep. 4, 2015 as its date. With latest update the user experience is superb.

  • Hi, I'm using asus fonepad 7 P0Y1 and I'm having trouble with messaging. It took 5 attempts before it send. We don't have any signal issues with the network and I tried to forced stop the app, restart the device, plug and unplug the sim card, it will work for few text messages and eventually go back to the same issues. II'm not saying that the device won't let me send messages but it took really long before it send, Hoping for your response. Thanks.

  • There were 3 updates to zenpad c 7.0. You must download all 3 updates, and let all 3 to install. Installing a single update is not enough. Make sure that the last update is from August 19, 2015.

  • we purchased this pad but on the following day of using it we experienced the auto-shutdown issue plus immense lagging when i played piano tiles 2; i was thinking that it was because of outdated firmware but i remembered that when it was connected over the internet it automatically updated the system (if you are experiencing issues try to look if the firmware is updated, check on their website; for this one it is: ). We sought the help of the retailer store where we bought it, thankfully they have replaced the pad with another unit but another brand (though i like this one already).

  • this is amazing! great buy! with name brands like this one

  • A few words about power button. Please note that there is no problem with the power button in the ZenPad z170cg. Some users are not familiar with the default behaviour of the power button in android lollipop 5.0.2. In order to power on the device you need to use a long press on the power button, and 3 second, until you feel a vibrate. Then let go and the device will bootstrap. In order to force shutdown of the device use a long press of over 12 seconds. In some cases if the device screen is black due to buggy applications (such as clash of clan which is buggy over lollipop), you need to first long press over 12 seconds, then let go, the long press for 3 seconds until you feel a vibrate. Try it.

  • I agree to your comment that the system hangs when attacking an oponent when I opt to go home in my COC this hets the same rsult. I just quit the game. I used to have intermittent mobile signal but this was gone when I had my laat update. The tab also drains fast.

  • Just got the a second ZenPad c 7.0 for my family. Both works great!

  • Yes, whatsup works great over zenpad z170cg. Note that you must have SIM card and phone number in order to use whatsup

  • It is not recommended to turn off the ASUS auto updates. Every update is improving your device quality, and used experience.

  • Thank you for fix the problem for restarting and lagging. Thank for update. No lag, no restart, the best ....

  • For all the Clash of Clan gamers. Please post your complains in SuperCell forums (the company who created this and other popular games). You will notice that many other users with android lollipop 5.0 has same problems with glitches, black screens and system freezes, also with devices with much higher specs than zenpaf c 7.0.

  • Good point. Clash of clan over android lollipop 5.0, is known to crash. Not related to za pad. Also crashes over all other higher spec. Models when upgraded to lollipop. This explains why luke214 was able to run the game over older operating systems only.

  • for me this asus zenpad looks neat except when playing clash of clans which always shut down. maybe asus should look into this matter....im not sure whether its the android version 5.0 or not enough memory for playing games...

  • The device supports WiFi Miracast. Which is the WiFi alliance standard for streaming over WiFi. Does Hitachi TV supports Miracas? Personally, I did not try Hitachi TV to stream video, but did try the folloeing.: Configured my zenpaf c 7.0 zenpad as WiFi hotspot, then connected from PC to watch movies over YouTube, when zenpad c 7.0 serves as 3G thethring wireless hotspot. This streaming use case works very well over my zenpad.

  • I bought a Zen Pad 7 Tuesday 25 August. Tablet switched off suddenly. Got a new one from Paradigit (Holland) and the same thing happens. And now the power button just doesn't work any more, even when connected to the mains power. Zen Pad 7 seems to be a product you simply cannot use.

  • cannot post comment yet as i have not brought my asus zenpad z170c ,just wondered if anyone can tell me if i can stream videos from the asus zenpad to my hitachi tv

  • Note that there is this same person in this thread, who is using multiple nicknames over and over, but you can easily recognize the person, due to its constant use of the same bad words that this person is using. In fact this person is repeating the same bad words over and over. and now this person crossed the lines, and using fan as its nickname to fake responses from other users, who wants to give their actual feedback.

  • Gsmarena, Per your policy, please consider removing the responses with the bad lunguage . Especially when this user is imitating nicknames of other users . Hiding undet multiple nicknames and writes bad language in your forum.

  • My light gold metalic zenpad c 7.0 is a keeler. Highly recomnended. Please ignore the response with improper wording signed as nickname , fan. since it sent by the same person who was using so many bad words before. He was also going by the name if Zippy in a previous response, and probably other nicknames before. Beware , since my feedbacks as fan nickname are all positive. • There is the 80/20 rule in phone pads. There is the 80% use cases which most hard working people are looking in a phone pad. And then, there is the 20% fluff features that almost none of us are using. With this device I got the 80% use cases works flawlessly, such as Bluetooth headphones on the gofor stereo. Bluetooth headset for voice calls. Gps for turn by turn navigation. Both 3G and WiFi connectivity. Getting the 80% use full features and paying fraction of what I would pay for higher models with the extra 20% fluf features which I do not really need.

  • My user experience thus far was very good. This device is an excellent companion tool for the working person. It does what you expect from a phone pad to do. From the minute it wakes you each and every morning. I am so glad that I do not need to pay ten times more for the higher specs models with all the fluff features. For my practical day to day use, the device dies what I need. No fluff, right to business.

  • it auto restarts while playing coc. i had it replaced, and got the same problem! money and time wasted! Its a CRAPPY DEVICE!!!

  • Just finished watching a few movies on YouTube over WiFi, over my zenpad c 7.0. No freeze. All movies ended successfully. My light gold metallic device was recently updated on august 19, 2015 over Asus auto FOTA service.

  • The worst device i've ever bought at Lazada. it shuts down unexpectedly, it restarts itself when playing videos. You cant finish watching a movies because it restarts 2 times or 3 times even after restarting again.. Two Thumbs Down to this Asus Zenpad. Super Disappointed at Asus and Lazada Support. It has been 2weeks since the device was returned to Lazada and they claim that there are no problems with the device. Very slow, it lags often, you cant play games smoothly even FRUIT NINJA.. Worst Worst Worst Ever. I should've bought SAMSUNG GALAXY TAB 4 or Cherry Mobile instead..

  • My device never restart or freeze for the last 3 weeks since I bought it. It works perfect. I am getting superb user experience and enjoyment, ease of use, exactly like in higher spec models, but payed less than 20% comparing to the higher specs models.

  • ASUS ZENPAD 7c is junk. Constant reboots. Crashes playing COC. Turned off auto updates, it still updates when it wants to. Junk, garbage, trash, and many other bad words. Do not buy this pile of crud. Would not take this if they paid me. Only wasted $100 bucks. Rather have a root canal than use this. So to make a long story short. JUNK!!!

  • Back with more feedback on my light gold Asus zenpad c 7.0. Regular updates are recommended. Had my device FOTA updated to August 11, 2015, then another update kicked in to August 19, 2015. Asus made ita snap to update automajically for you. You get notified press a button. 10 min. All done. Also updated ZenUI to screen saver which shows ice cubes and water as battery state emulation. So cool! Asus battery manager block apps from drinking your battery while in standby. Works flawlessly. Excellent!!

  • I had high hopes for this tablet. I bought the unit last Friday, and returned it yesterday. There's a problem with the power button. It won't turn on! You have to try so many times! It also shuts down by itself frequently. Before you can return our exchange the unit, you're required to bring it first to an Asus service center for their recommendation, even if you've just had the unit for less than a week! Such a hassle! I exchanged it with a Samsung tab 3v and so far so good!

  • Gps is porr, only reads 3-4 km per hour when other reads 1 km per hour. In most cases it is off by 5 km per hour.

  • The worst gadjet in my life... so lag.. system always shutdown it self.. the price??? WTF... never buy asus brand again...

  • Back with more feedback on my light gold metalic Asus zenpad c 7.0. What I noticed which is great about this phone pad is that it is very conservative on power. Yesterday while having a busy day I had the device with 95% battery in the morning, while being so busy all day outside, I hardly got a chance to open the phone pad. Only read a few pages of a kindle book in the mornong, checked for messages, connected to hands free bluetooth in car, but did not make calls. After returning home, aroundv10 hours later I was amazed to find that the battery is still at 95%, and the device connected to my WiFi at home. Now that what I call 95% conservative when 95% in standby. Excellent!

  • Thumbs down. Will never buy another Asus again. The restarts and lock up is back again after the replacement. Money wasted on this phablet.

  • Back with more feedback and info about my light gold metallic Asus budget C 7.0 zenpad. My device was so cheap thtat it arrived with 8GB flash memory, while about 3G are freely available. This was no problem at all. Just got 64G high speed SD card for great deal, no money. Installed it, and boosted my memory instantly. It was very easy to install both SD card and SIN card, since Asus made it very easy to get to these slots. There is a small opening at the side with a tiny door so inserting cards is ad easy as inserting USB cable. Great job on this features. The device is dual SIM although I only use one SIM. I heard that having a dual SIM can hep to get cellular deals more easily by swapping providers.

  • I am back for more eedback on my light gild netalic device from Asus. For a budget device, I bought this zanpad C 7.0 cheaper version from Asus, to snag right in my pocket. A daily charge gets you a full business day ofheavy duty phone ccalls, web browsing, navigation, and application use. The ZenUI coupled with lollipop is a best OS and middle ware for books and PDF reading while on the go. Excellent for my use cases. Ihighly recommend. I could not be more happier with such a useful device, at such a low price with such a great look and elegance.

  • ZenPad is impressive at first glance: a cleanly designed plastic 7 incher with leathery finish at the back and metal chamfered edges that gives it a premium look. Color saturation of the IPS panel is good per advertised. The DTS-HD premium sound was great as well especially since the speaker is front-facing. The issues you have to live with are: the non-removable battery has some heating problems that would make the device shut down even after cooling it using an app; it crashes summarily while playing CoC and Boom Beach and for a new Intel 64 bit quadcore, I wouldn't expect it to happen at all (I play CoC on my iPod 4th Gen & it hardly crashes, and it's 3 years old now and Apple even stopped upgrading its OS); while watching clips on YouTube, it would randomly crash as well; after the crash comes the issue with turning it on which would take quite a long time I thought the device totally died (then I learned I had to reboot by pressing volume up and power button at the same time, otherwise, the power button wouldn't turn on the device at all). I'd understand the lag because ZenPad7 Z170CG isn't high end after all but the crashes are a big bummer for this device. I've had the system updated twice, to no avail. This device is like a crash test dummy. Overall, it's nice for calling and texting, dual sim is supported and it works perfectly; ditto for web browsing that isn't heavy with videos. I bought this as my first 'android practice device' to be familiar with the ecosystem. I expected an above-average performance for a budget device and new chip from Intel, but it didn't live up to my expectations. This means I cannot add more games to this tablet which offers 16G of storage or essentially 11G for the user because of pre-installed apps, most are useful though. Z170CG is a budget device that still has 'sub-par budget performance' even up to this day where competition on the mid-range section is so fierce, while other OEMs can do more on the performance side without burning a hole in the pocket. Asus should provide immediate and regular updates for this device to resolve the issues to make it a keeper. Otherwise, it's just an ordinary albeit colourful paperweight.

  • Had this device for about two weeks. Got the metalic light gold. -- use: The zanpad c 7.0, fit right in my front pocket. It is very thin as said before. I use it as my main phone device. it connects perfectly to my hand free system in my car. it serves me well for in car navigation Over its GPS. It also connects well over 3g voice Calls and 3g data. And it connects to WiFi at home With an excellent signal and speed. Bluetooth headset Also connects very well and this very useful when Using the device as you major phone. battery life Is long lasting for a full work day and more. WiFi speeds are good. Download speed is well. Auto Updates from Asus well and recommended. overall this device is a keeper for me. And more feedback from me will be posted soon.

  • The device is excellent. Had it for a few weeks. Excellent user experience. Excellent connectivity.

  • I have this asus Zenpad last August 4 2015, I have noticed, its battery is not good. It also hang up sometimes and it shutdown on itself.

  • Had the same issue, playing CoC then within 30 mins it will restart on its own, got it replaced by the shop where i've bought it, so the 2nd unit was a bit ok, not restarting however intermittently hangs while streaming videos and after the latest update wifi connection became unstable. I think cheaper pad'S doesn't have issues w/ stability just this one.

  • U need to update to asus center

  • I have mine too ASUS zen pad C.7. the unit is not good. I just only press the kindle amazon my unit was hanged up and i can't go back to main menu. I tried to restart many times but it didn't work out. I feel I'm wasted my money

  • I got the zenpad C7 for 2 weeks now... visually it looks good. That chrome bezel trim hides the low cost feel of the tab and it's rather slim. The feel of this compared to the similar spec memopad 7 is a whole lot better. The display is a bit of a let down. Pixel density is really low and that brillant colour system thingy they advertise can't hide that fact. The touch interface is not really sensitive enough. Pressing twice or more is required sometimes. The battery is close to pathetic really. The 8 hours usage they advertise is really a stretch. It's good enough for a movie playback or 2, but it's best that you invest in a powerbank or have a power source nearby. With just 1 GB of RAM, don't expect snappy response. The intel chip is designed for low power usage and run anything intensive, the pad will start to feel warm pretty quick. The DTS sound is alright, the front facing speaker is loud and clear. I don't understand why they put in a crappy 2MP rear camera when that could have been put to better use as a front facing camera instead. Be mindful that there is no gorilla glass technology (it's a budget tab for goodness sake), I recommend you get a tempered glass screen protector. Phone function is alright too. The WIFI is buggy. I encoutered several times where the WIFI just cuts out and the only way to restore connection is to restart the tab.

  • Zenpad keeps on restarting while playing coc.

  • It has a problem of playing Clash of Clans - Device Auto Restart Tried to upgrade - latest firmware - re-install COC No success... frustrated now

  • Bought mine yesterday. Seems ok when tested on the shop but when i came home after charging full the unit would not load the android os. I'm returning it today. Bad first impression. Also in the manual it says that you should charge the unit for full 8 hrs. before using it first time. It also says that you shouldn't over charge it after full charge (battery indicator displays full charge after more or less 2 hrs of charging). Checking the full specs that battery is Lipoly its no secret that this battery explodes when over charging. The instruction makes no sense. Thinking of getting other brands instead.

  • Here is the problems that I had when it comes to asus zen pad c7 intel version.. 1. the latest upgrade of the firmware of zen pad is ok but i have notice that its stability on wifi connection is not ok. It loses its connection and sometimes its difficult to connect. 2. sometimes it shutdowns with out any reason at all and sometimes it turns in safe mode. program/firmware update and stability is not ok. 3. it consumes too much ram even if i don't use any apps and provided that it is just only 1 gb so having lag issues on some applications is present. im really hoping that they can fix this issues for it to be one ultimate tablet at a low price ..

  • I am planning to buy this unit on lazada, is this unit is good? Cause i had read many comments that this unit is not good. Is this unit good or bad? reply pls thank u

  • Anybody with internet connectivity issues after system upgrade of this product? It took some time for me to connect to my wifi even if i am just a few feet away from my router. I had to restart it just to connect to the internet.

  • does any one know how to reset the zen pad think I got a virious and it wont load I found out how to bring up android on screen but cant go any farther

  • I buy this product, i updated 2x , but the problem is they automatic off, then another problem. When i restart, they restart 2x can u fix the problem? Male updated pls,

  • It hangs frequently and auto restarts, returning this to my vendor, go for huawei t1 7.0 instead

  • Just got mine yesterday..I was planning on buying zenpad s 8...but it hasn't yet released in our country..so I bought zenpad c 7.0 just to get a bite of zenpad...I was hoping for the best but it certainly not that much for me..specially if your a hardcore gamer..I thought it could perform as well as my Zenfone2 with just minor differences..but it's not..It's way too far from Zenfone 2..I only recommend this for those who just want to stream and listen to their music..and that's it..but its good so far..its doing just fine...-dj mund-

  • Update: the first zenpad i got has a bad rom. Got a new unit from the vendor. Performed 2x system update and all is fine now. Installed all apps without a glitch

  • Bought this Phone last Aug 1. there seems to be an issue when updating the phone via system update. Experienced intermittent OS crashes and restarting. resetting to factory setting solved the issue. Also do not update Android System Webview as it also causes crashes and restarts.

  • There is no diffrent betwen asus zen pad 7 & 7 omg , i hope the 7 inchi phone tablet with big batt bout 5000 mah n high ppi bout 400 ppi from asus n quadcore / octacore :-)

  • Just get one, Asus this OS must be more polished, it works slowly sometimes, I hope productivity will be better after Android Update!

  • For the price alone, it's a good buy. RAM could be much higher though but for my intended purpose (read, surf, email, watch and listen) it did the job! So far, so good!

  • I believe this will be a mid market model which is quite nicely design. I don't mind buying if the price is right. I have and is still using the Samsung Tab as well as Asus and i can say that Asus are quite decent unit as well. Of course you cannot compare with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S but comparing with the Samsung Tab 4 the Asus are much faster units.

  • I'm to see someone Defeated :))))

  • Wanna a trophy for ? for your frist comment ?

  • If it has corning gorilla glass I will buy it. By the way.....First Comment
