  • Love the phone,my friend,Dean, gave me one for free.. I owe him for it now, lol. It has a qwerty keyboard akin to a pc's with a shift and alt key,a space bar,a menu button and a back button.also a delete button and a symbols key. I bought a 2gb micro sd card and filled it with mp3's and videos. It plays mp3 perfectly.great sound..reasonable battery life.Video is in a 320 x 180 avi format, but looks like HD on the scaled down screen.I downloaded a free app for my pc to convert video into supported formats. The OS I upgraded through the blackberry software app, downloadable from the web. There a number of OS themes to choose from.. I had a slight issue with the trackball, which was easily fixed by turning off the phone, holding down the ball and rolling it in every direction..There is a volume control button on the right side ,which doubles as a next track button for the mp3 and video player when held down..On the other side is a button which you can assign as a single press quick access to any app or function...I found the voice recognition to be hit and miss, also there is a jack for mini headphones and a usb slot for charging the battery and data transfer. The battery also charges, but slower with the phone connected to pc.There is no camera on the phone,it's major flaw, but it displays pictures well with a zoom and pan function...also any mp3,or voice recording can be set as a ringtone...overall I'ld give it 85 per cent, the lack of a camera and shoddy voice recognition being it's main detractors. Now I'll go to get Dean a decent wedding present..:)

  • Really new to this so please bare with me, can anyone tell me how to transfer my cd's from my laptop to my Blackberry,

  • Hi, about your problem of exchanging files with other phones is that you can only send and not receive files via bluetooth, and that is first pairing your bb8800 with other bluetooth phones with the configuration bluetooth menu, and then try to find the other phone to send your files, and if you want to load files to the bb8800, you can do it so using the roxio file manager provided with the desktop manager (V 4.5) that you can download for free in the Blackberry official page. I hope my comments were useful for you. Greetings

  • please can someone give me a clue to solve this problem of exchanging stuff via bluetooth with non-blackberry phones. The manual seems not to be helping.

  • i think its a cute phone but i find it almost impossible exchanging stuff through bluetooth with other non-blackberry phones.Thats my only problem with it.

  • Hi, I have the same problem. The problem is that this particular model does not recognize numbers with and without country codes as the same. for example i store a number e.g. 0300 859 3216. when i send a text message, I select the name to which this number is assigned. But when I receive a message from the same number, a country code is automatically assigned to it and this BlackBerry model considers it a different number because we do not add country codes to numbers while storing them. if you check your sent and received messages, you will see that the difference is that the received messages have country codes. I dont know how to fix this but with frequently used numbers, I usually store them twice - one with country code and one without because i have also noticed that there is no pattern when your blackberry will show country code and when not.

  • Upgrade the blackberry os. It will resolve the issue..

  • i must say the 8800 is a really good phone and easy to navogate however i have a problem i would like some help with. when i send a txt from my address book, th ename of the person is shown, but when i receive txt only the number shows even if th enumber/numbers are storedin my phone. could someone please explain howi can get the names to show in incoming txts?

  • BlackBerry 8800 this is the best set I every use in my live, what a set I love it. The best thing i like in it is totally a business phone without a cemera :) Want to congratulate who design this set. Chao akhtar

  • Use the desktop manager to migrate data.

  • great phone.. some problems like have no camera

  • Hi all, How do I copy numbers from this phone to a sim or to another phone? Or how do I download contacts onto my PC. Thanks for your help.

  • I traded my G1 for this. And I am quite pleased with my decision. Yeah the web browsing is way behind but I gladly trade that away for the battery life with this phone. With my G1 I had to carry my charger everywhere I went. This phone can last me two or three days of moderate use. Plus the battery charges in like twenty minutes to full status. BBM is great. And the media player is decent also. I do hate that I haven't figured out how to actually play youtube video on my bb but I can do without. The facebook app cud use a bit of tweaking but it gets the job done very well. The phone has a very regal feel and look to it as I walk around looking at gsmarena.com. This was my first bb and I def. Won't be my last I debating if I will go for the curve 8520 or the 9700 bucz I don't have a digital camera but I haven't decided. By I am a crackberry addict. Hook line and sinker

  • im gonna say this in the most caring ay possible 2 reasons when you put in your pocket it could turn off cause theres an off/on button on top and is the battery dead and my advise dont put it in your poket why would you anyway

  • i have the exact same problem. did u get it sorted? if so can you tell me how?

  • Exactly. BlackBerry without BIS is like a woman without boobs :D

  • Actualy, it is very easy to use, and if you dont have BlackBerry service (BIS), you can sell him :)

  • i like the phone but it is the most confusing thing i ever had, im moor of the kind of person that will try to and will figure things out on my own not using the manual but this BB even with the book i find just very very hard to understand and use. someone like me probably shouldn't have something like this. i will most likely return it for something much simpler.

  • I love my 8800, especially for piano-black, glossy housing with shining side rails. Its just beautyfull :) look verry luxury and elegant.

  • Simply the best phone ever since..I couldn't find anything that fits my needs as BB does!

  • Thats just because you have to tell your phone that a file is coming per bluetooth. in Media Menu, just press menu button and then there should be a function for that

  • Whatever the phone may be this is the best phone search site EVER!!!!

  • I just bought this phone unlocked... i am surprised that I am unable to transfer a picture, contact, file etc using bluetooth from my laptop/another phone to this BB8800... it always says sending failed...Why??... 2. I am yet to start my GPRS, so do not know browser capabilities yet....but I am trying to download the Desktop Manager software from the Blackberry website, it is more than 200mb, but it cuts off in the middle and doesnt download...Why?? This phone is good, but maybe I am doing something worng... any help would be much appreciated....

  • I am looking to purchase a new phone. I like the wifi and internet options on this phone. When looking to upgrade my plan, they ask if I want the blackberry internet/email package and the gps package. Do I relly need these packages at $50 per month?

  • look i have collection of cellphones...I have HTC,NOKIA,Samsung,Sony Ericsson annnnd this BlackBerry and it`s one of those cell phones that i can`t seprate it from myself !!! I love this but it has some problems like having no camera!!! totally it`s such classical phone !! :X

  • I cant charge my blackbery 8800

  • it does not have camera.wi-fi,3G or extra features but it is too costaly why so??????????any budy can tell me pls.

  • The phone is lovely to look at period. IT's way too fragile for me.. Roller ball keeps getting stuck and simple functionalities like contacts management is unbearable. the Power source just broke today so now it have to be fixed, this i think is where other phones beat this model pants down

  • umm, well. meh

  • can this phone recieve pictures through text messages?

  • please , i need a quick answer for my q. is this phone capable of making voice calls and conferences using yahoo messenger , icq ,...etc

  • It's much better than Nokia E series, I just got a 8800, and it's great! You need a phone transfer (Cellebrite, UME for example) for transfering all your phone contacts.

  • I've now used one of these for a year. My company forces them on us. Ok for standard email, but although I have downloaded some software can't really cope with PDFs. It also can'd deal with HTML. Mine crashes frequently, and sometimes doesn't recognise the SIM card. Basically, it is extremely annoying. I only use it because I am forced to. Certainly wouldn't pay good money for it. About as useful as a chocolate teapot.

  • I just got a BB8800 and I can't seem to transfer all my phone contacts from my HP Ipaq via bluetooth, though they can see each other. Any help out there? Thank you!

  • Can someone please tell me what is the main difference between BlackBerries and other business phones like Nokia E51 or E71 or any other business serries phone? Email and internet surfing is my major priority. Thanks

  • Internet browsing on BlackBerry 8800 handset really zero. It will take lot of time to load a web page. It does not load properly. It does not support Flash. It does not download software on Media Card. All others features are okay. I really recommend to Symbian and Windows operation System.

  • Nice Phone.

  • is it coming with radio ?

  • Turn Off the phone and Take out the Battery and SIM and Put them back in again

So then i had to get it unlocked. now the phone is working perfectly alright but in my security i can not disable my security because there is a pad lock sign right beside the word security engaged. same thing with my media supports there is the same sign what can i do. any kind of help would be nice my email is [email protected]

  • can anyone please tell me the best type of anti-virus used for this model??????????

  • I love it! I was worried it might be a bit big for my little girly hands but its feels wonderful to use, not cumbersome at all. It also sits better in my pocket than my previous motorola v6 (which was thicker). The sound quality of phone calls is excellent, so is the display, and loudspeaker volume. Does everything I need it to, I have a camera so I don't need one in a phone.

  • Hello Can any one know how to reset hard reset coz my blackBerry can't make outgoing call so If any one know the salution please post is to my emial tnanks a lot

  • I've had this phone since April of last year and I do not have any complaints. The GPS also has what's near by search function that can help you look for a store or place where ever you're at. I give it a 2 thumbs up. I'm in search for another phone that has video camera capabilities and WiFi with 3G techonology which is a must.

  • When is RIM going to wake up and realise that business users want 3G & HSDPA??? Cameras and video are nice to have options but 3G is mandatory. RIM needs to focus on what the end-user needs and not on the network providers marketting strategy.

  • it is looking good but proceesing is so tough

  • Also when users vote, think about what the device is for. I read an opinion for another BlackBerry device (I think for the Curve), "if businesses don't allow cameras into the office, why does this BlackBerry have a camera?". It's dumb how people rate the phone low because they're rating it for personal use. RIM makes BlackBerries for two users, business and personal. Obviously the one with cameras are for personal usage and ones without the camera are clearly for business users. I think RIM along with all the other phone mfgs. would like to make an all-in-one phone, but you have to tailor to different users, rich/poor.

  • When I read how users are comparing Nokia to BlackBerries, I just sit back and laugh. How are you comparing a BlackBerry to a N81 or N95 or other N series phone? There is a reason why BlackBerries are THE ideal handset for probably 90+ percent of businesses. I'm guessing the 90+ percent of businesses are probably stupid for not going to the Nokia since it has everything and is THE best phone out there. On a personal level, yes the Nokia might be more ideal if you need wi-fi, camera, radio, etc. but on a business level, nothing even comes close to a BlackBerry (Treo's should not even be mentioned in the same sentence with BlackBerries). But then again, rarely do you see a average person walking the street with a BlackBerry, majority of BlackBerry users are business users with BES. Looking for anything internet or e-mail related, BlackBerry is THE device. Looking for the trend at the moment, any other phone.

  • I'm considering between Blackberry 8800 and Palm treo 680. Palm 680 has the capability to not only view but edit documents. Can BB 8800 do the same? I prefer Win than Palm OS tho. Please advise, anyone? Thank you.

  • Hi All, Blackberry is a masterpiece from RIM. Im using Blackberry from 6 Months, & Im damn happy with this. Blackberry cn do a lot which windows Mobiles cant do atleast for next 2 Years. Best of Luck Windows mobile 5.0.

  • I think it's a nice smartphone ... but for Enterprises more than normal day to day users. Normal users can stick to windows smartphones. But i got to say the performance is quite good so far.

  • This phone is awsome i must say! I'm a business owner and my business travels with me everywhere-just in my handheld computer- opps! I mean phone.... LOVE IT

  • This is a realy good phone.. The only thing I think it needs is wifi and for the internet to be a little better on it (you cant shop using it) but other than that everything elce is so easy to use... and it looks good..

  • Now my husband using it and he is quit happy , this is not like a mobile phone, its a very very professional thing, so recommended for only professional people.

  • i have had most brands of phones. i prefer blackberry for email and sms. as far as not having 3g, i'm ok with that because the battery live would be a lot less. as far as a camera, most phones take bad pictures. the ones that take good ones are bulky. gps works great on this phone and i use it daily. for what i need my phone to do this is perfect and performs those functions beyond my expectations. pictures are for kids

  • If RIM added 3G and HSDPA, this would be the perfect business smartphone. Will keep my fingers crossed that the BB8900 will have them and then I'll buy a bucket load for my company. I totally agree with the previous posting. If you want photos and music, buy a camera and an ipod. Well done RIM, but please make it perfect by adding 3G and HSDPA.

  • PLEASE HELP!!! I have downloaded the blackberry maps to my 8800 because my network provider didnt have them on it. It now connects up and tells me where i am but there is no maps or anything! Does anyone know why? Blackberry only want to help if i pay them, like i dont pay enough a month as it is! PLease help

  • I love the BB8800. Has better features then the 8700g. Crystal clear screen allow you to very clearly. I beleive BB makes the best phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Blackberry...well what can I say. If you want pictures buy a camera, if you want MP3 buy a iPod, if want ring tones buy a Nokia. Tools like the Blackberry are for serious business professionals. Solid, reliable, functional and very easy to use. To better it will be tough for ROM to achieve.

  • Why in the hell do we buy blackberry??!! This is the most failure phone ever... It looks ugly and work even sucks!! Blackberry shall pull out all thier ass looks model and make a change if they wants to grow, at least, survive!!!

  • Everytime I send an email through my phone it always sends me a copy of the email. How do i fix this?

  • HELP!When I attempt to receive a song via bluetooth it asks for a password. But the thing is the phone sending the song has no password attached to the bluetooth. Is there like a default password or something?

  • Blackberrys are all very bad phones. They are ugly to begin with. They are not smartphones or pocket pc's because they have no WLAN. This 8800 is not exception. It's an amateur poseur's smart phone.

  • i think it is a totally man's thing. I just send 8800 to my husband as his birthday gift. hopefully he will like it. please pray for me.

  • Can someone help!!! Where do I find the password for Telenav? Please help!!! Thanks

  • I have used numerious GSM handhelds from I-Mate to top range sonyericssons but BB8800 is the best of all. Very good experience so far

  • I love the blackberry series! although the pearl had a bad batch it was still great. the 8800 has a few more redeaming features, but i agree, there is no point in making another BB almost identical to the pearl and charging heaps more for it WITHOUT 3G!!! and they've taken the 8707g off the shelf! best BB ever made. can u download the BB BROWSER to another sort of pda? it would make life cheaper.

  • Love the BB8800 as far as it goes, but won't buy until RIM put 3G into it. Here's hoping that the BB8900 has it.

  • An distinct tone can be selected for ring, person, sms, mms, and email. > go to the speaker icon. Press button > Sroll down to advanced. Press button. * You will see "Profiles." > Press the button for whatever is currently highlighted - maybe (Normal). > Scroll to whatever you wish, ring, sms, mms, etc. Press button. > Adjust from options.

  • Anyone knows how to change the ringtone on the incoming emails or texts? Thanks

  • Does anyone knows how to do this cell as a modem for my laptop? I live in Brazil, great phone but without this is noot a good phone for me instead of i just bought one thanks

  • The GPS is offered through applications such as Telenav. $9.99 per month - turn by turn audio navigation, business finder, gas finder...

  • its a shame their's no 3G or WiFi

  • Can someone explain me 'Built-in GPS navigation with BlackBerry maps'? Does this mean we do not pay anything extra for the GPS navigation? Is it same as the TOM TOM (prevelant in UK)..>???

  • I love it - i had the 8700 for aweek and it was good -but not as good as the 8800 overall! This phone really can enhance any business person as far as keeping up with client emails and phone calls!

  • I am using the black berry 8800 since last 3 months, its very great and useful for corporate commnuication,.acctually honestly, i couldnot understand it throughly, its very tough one, but with the passage time i will come to know. Is there any one to teach me how to use 8800 please call me 0092-300-5286760 Thanks

  • i love blackberry.but there is no camera

  • I decided to get a Blackberry 8800 to receive our corporate e-mail. Prior to this I was using a SonyEricsson P990i. I could not get Blackberry Connect to work on that with Rogers Wireless (Canada). The BB8800 not only met, but exceeded, my expectations for receiving email from work. It was a bonus to be able to receive personal emails too (via BIS). Only after using it did I realize that it basically becomes my Outlook extension. It's wonderful. The hardware is good. The screen is big, clear and can be very bright. The keyboard is easy to use considering it's small size. Overall constuction is good - although not as solid "feeling" as my SE P990i. I had to get used to how the BB OS works. It was not so difficult. I guess it was just a learning curve since I was so used to my SE P990i. What I love about the BB8800 is how responsive it is. I applaud RIM in prioritizing responsiveness over eye-candy. The roller-ball is a good navigation tool. I can't really complain, but I would agree with some reviewers that it would help if it were easier to press. The only complaint I have really is that the 'P' key seems to require more effort to register a key press. As for GPS, it works well with the BB maps program. I found it useful when I was looking for an address in Montreal. I would recommend the BB8800 to anyone considering it.

  • Hi.... In mobile device Nokia E61 has the best web browser. Please anyone tell me that BB8800's web browser is better/faster than Nokia E61's Web browser. Rgds....

  • To: SF BAY AREA ??? Simple solution was to say, "Give me another." To: Atif On T-Mobile the BB service, unlimited data) is 20.00. Email will not work without it anyway, so it must be added. With the 20.00 plan...the GPS is included.

  • I have had the BB-8800 from T-Mobile USA for about two weeks. T-Mobile tech. support has been great. I admit the software was not as easy to understand as Palm...but all-in-all it very nice. It handles e-mail, sms, and mms perfect. That was what I needed and it's a 10 in that regard. Bluetooth headset was easy! I have a Macintosh, and it's fully campatible using the BB for mac software. Phone is load and clear. No issues so far. Wish, however, it had a camera. I do miss that. But, if I had to exchange the texting functions for a camera...I'd keep it the way it is.

  • Had it 19 days thru Cingular and it don't work and they caint fix it. Ditching it today with tears in my eyes. Poor RIM, I hope it aint Cingular screwing you over.

  • please help me and answer my problem.

  • Thanks Ben, i set this for 10 digits. after this in side pakistan number start displaying NAMES. But it does not suits for out side pakistan numbers. If increase it to 15 digits. In this case it start to dsiplay out side pakistan number NAMES. and discountinue in side pakistan number NAMES. please note EXAMPLE. +92300 XXX XXXX. or 0300 XXX XXXX and in over seas cases +971 50 XXX XXXX if set at 10 then it show only in side country NAMES. if set AT 13 or 15 then its howes either inside pakistan numbers and if set at 13 or 15 it shows only out side pakistan number only not names. this is sreious isse please help me> most of the time spend to see who is calling or who did sms.

  • For anyone with phonebook issues, press the call button (green) then press options and go to smart dialling. Choose your countries county code and then phone numbers will be displayed. We had that issue in the uk, a tiny fault that is easily rectified!!!

  • i bought it 3 days before. its ball is good but hard to press. old 8700 wheel was good to handel. It is slow than 8700, one strange fualt is. phone book names not display. number displayed when sms or call arrive. mobilink pakistan says it is phone soft ware problem because mobilink is selling this in pakistan his self in monople way. they said fualt removing request has sent to canada to phone supply company. i am not satisfied from this phone. price they is high too mobilink is selling at 475$. and used phones has zero market value. please give comments.

  • To Anindya, my 8800 is completely flat, so is an even width and depth all the way. The buttons are recessed a little, but then stick out so you can feel them fine. All in all, pretty cool, the maps work well (unless your in New Zealand when they just don't work!) and it's a quick device. The centre wheel is much better than the old side trackwheel. And best of all, I got it through work! Obviously to get the most you really do need a BES server, linked to Exchange / Lotus Notes and everything will synch over the air, very cool in that respect! Then with Idokorro or similar you can do remote admin etc, so well worth it. It's a bit wide but slimmer than the old 8700g and much nicer than the 7210 / 7290's. HTH, Mark

  • Hi, i'm Anindya i like it........ From , Siliguri

  • Can anyone with a BB 8800 answer my question? At the bottom of your handset, does it appear that the front part is sticking out longer than the back cover? Does anyone see that??

  • Has anyone used this is a tethered modem at all? How fast is the EDGE connection. Would it be good/fast enough to use it instead of a broadband connection? Thanks

  • black berry handset is good for other mobil u creat 10 e-mail configur and push technologi :- real-time resive mail this is main-thing

  • I have BB8800 and its awesome.Especially while travelling its give so much of ease. Got rid of opening laptop for checking some small important mails!! Wish it could have few more seperate options of vibration + ringtone for sms, emails, phones to differentiate them.

  • i happen to think that this bb is the best yet for buisness use and am happy to say that i have one.

  • Hey just got the 88hundo for 250$canadian good choice? I definatly thought so.

  • you guys dont seem to understand... BBs are targeted towards businesses... not regular average joe... the BB is for the exec person and managers therefore, most if not all companys dont allow cameras for copyright and forgery(sp?) reasons... get over yourselfs and accept that the BB if for the business person not someone that wants it all in a phone. the BB has the most stable OS out there. i have owned both symbian and windows os phones/pdas and all they do is crash, freeze or something... i now have a BB and have never once had to restart or pull the battery because of a freeze or restart... like i said if you want a phone with a mp3 player or/and camera go elsewhere, these PDAs/phones are for the businesses! get used to it...

  • Hello Anyone, I need a phone with good email capabilities and am looking looking at the BB 8800 or SE P990i which are the best high end choices currently available in Jamaica. If it can be confirmed that putting the blackberry connect software on the S/Ericsson P990i makes the GPRS email more reilable and functional, then I would rather that phone over the BB 8800. Does the P990i have voice activated dialing (VAD) comparable to the 8800?...Lastly if the BB curve 8300 becomes available here in Jamaica within a month, would it be a better option to the P990i. The two major GSM providers offer blackberry GPRS email service. RJA

  • Our whole company uses blackberries and I work for Rogers wireless myself. There is abseloutly nothing special about this device. it's waaay slower than 8700 and alot bigger. the keyboard on 8700 is still alot more friendlier and faster to type vs. 8800. the GPS does work but very very slow and laggy. beside the voicecommand option and some multimedia options which are useless I wouldn't recommand anyone to move from 8700 to this device. sadly i'm using it myself but it's really big waste of money to upgrade. Blackberry did a horrible job on this product.

  • Lots of people are complaining that there is no camera; who cares! The only thing that i wish it had was wifi but still no big deal. The phone is excellent, no real complaints here.

  • Had the 8700 - got the 8800 as an upgrade. Maps for the UK are excellent - I live in the middle of nowhere and the detail at street levels still fantastic. I pay 10 a month on o2 for the unlimited data, unlimited blackberry and unlimited yahoo and once the satellites for gps are found it gets the maps in seconds (usually)

  • Just got this black berry last week from Rogers, for GPS you have to get the deta plain which is not worth it , it says built-in GPS but no way to find maps.. Strongly Dis-agree of blackberry 8800... Lier.... just wanted to make money... Regards Atif

  • For it's size it should have a camera, wi-fi and 3G. Will have to try it out though. Still prefer the 8700 upto now.

  • good phone

  • hey guys can some one tell me which is the best blackberry.

  • BlackBerry 8800. What can I say? This is by far one of the most complete organiser phones (not PDA) that I have ever used. The QWERTY keyboard is a blessing. quick dialing, voice recognition (speaker independent), GPS, and most of all, fully integrated with Outlook. If you have the Desktop, e-mails can be forwarded to you. I just wish that the Pearl wouldn't wear out so easily (can someone invent a touchpad?). Secondly, I can't find one that is BlackBerry OEM. It would be a blessing.

  • YES!!! t-mobile finally got this (in the us, the uk has had it for a while though)

  • I have heard that Macintosh are combining with Rim to produce the Blackberry and apple pie. Cannot wait for this, sounds like a really tasty product!!!

  • i'm not really a fan of the middle pearl (that took place of the right side scroller)

  • This BB Rocks. Have had it for a month on O2 and it is the best BB so far. Trackball takes getting used to but is the future.

  • This phone is absolutely useless. It looks much better on this display than it does in real life. pls do not buy this phone unless you have scene a physical demo of the phone. ou much rather go for the pearl or look into HTC which is lightening years ahead of this phone as far as user friendly software is concerned.

  • this has plenty of faults not worth for business

  • I have just taken delivery of the 880 after using the pearl which I think is a fantastic phone, upgraded to the 880 as using the email facility more and more so not as arkward to use with larger keyboard. The 8800 came with maps but I can not seem to see any maps albeit the satelites are activated can anyone help Thanks James

  • T-Mobile wll be releasing the 8800 very soon. No exact date but the word is it will not be available for sale in stores but through business care instead.

  • t-mobile blackberry 8800 will be released april 23rd!

  • Ive heard they were thinking of bringing the pink blkberry out but not no more. There bringing a white one out.

  • When are they going to come out with a pink blackberry? I've been waiting anxiously! The pearl has come in black, white, now even red!

  • Need to add wifi, 3g (EDGE era is almost in its edge), and camera for videocall.

  • it's a phone

  • I just bought the phone for T-mobile from Germany on my way home to U.S., and I am in luv with this phone. The best design I could ask for, being a Blackberry fanatic, love the navigation button too. Crystal's comment was very true, Blackberry is the most reliable and easy to work with compared to any OS. The organizer, the tasks, it never stops working for you, very stable, unlike WM software which work like Pentium 1, or 2. Greatest investment I ever made. Worth every cent. GREATEST PHONE OF THE CENTURY. AMEN CRYSTAL.

  • Hello Guys Let me explane u the need of BB.what i feel about BB that this is the best Mobile Phone which can give u some usefull thing to do U can manage yours business on Move !!!!!!so if u are Buying this phone thats mean u are doing the best Deal I am an old usear of BB Phones and I have not seen any thing better then this Phone Belive me Camera /Music is all for kids not for the REAL BLACK BERRY USEAR.....THANKS

  • Ok relax youre father has a 10 mp camera a bmw the buisiness first play after , mp3 player is more important then shor rainge camera phones eaven 3 mp on a phone is not that amaizing . some offices do not accept camera phones and black berry cant have wi fi buddy boy it s set up to be secure on theire servers for internet wi fi means you can loose critical info .

  • re: robert this device does not have a camera because it is a BUSINESS CENTRIC device. for business people working in high security areas and can not have a camera. im no business user but i can live without it. ill sacrifice thte camera for allllllll of the other awesome features on this phone. check out blackberryforums.com and see for yourself how many other people enjoy what this phone can do. and wifi? if uve got unlimited data on edge plan, whats the point? plenty fast and if you dont have a data plan with this phone, you bought it for all the wrong reasons. love the phone. worth every penny and more.....

  • I work for O2 and one of our people in purchasing have said O2 are not stocking the 8800!!

  • it does not have wifi. I have one.

  • Not to sound sexiest so don't get the wrong idea, but to me the blackberry has always been a male driven phone beause of its size(To Me). Besides the people who use it in the everyday Business world (men and women). My question is does anyone realy like the pearl I mean to me it suck's. lets keep the little fu fu ball on the smaller verison of the blackberry and come up with something new and round.

  • wtf!! no camera. what the hell is wrong with theses people!! now i am very upset. i will yell now because i am going to go crazy. aaaahhhhhhhhh!! aaaahhhhhhhh!! aaaahhhhhhhhh!! aaaahhhhhhhh!! aaaahhhhhhhhh!! aaaahhhhhhhh!! aaaahhhhhhhhh!! aaaahhhhhhhh!!

  • ok then the best blackberry to get with a camera is the pearl its such a nice phone i love it i work at cable&wireless in antigua and we have it for a nice price the pearl is really hot

  • hi guys i am planning to buy new black berry phone .can anybody help me that does it has a camera or not if yes on which model has a camera please help me out thanks

  • If you choose to get this phone be aware the gps maps that blackberry supply only have the data of major destinations, any rural areas are downloaded over gprs and saved on the handset as the phone cannot hold all road maps of the world. Also you must have gprs set up and normal network charges apply.

  • Rim will release the 9000 series Blackberry with a brand new operating system sometime around October/November.I can't wait.

  • the phone has faster internet than the treo, plus it has a more stable OS. it's thinner, a little heavier, but feels more secure in the hand. the buttons are about the same size, but have raised edges, so i like that better as well. the rollerball takes a minute to get used to, but overall this is a great phone.

  • how is it for web browsing,if compared to a treo, i do alot of web than e-mail, is the web browser faster , slower or the same as treo. which would you guys recommend

  • t-mobile will release the blackberry 8800 in april 2007. can't wait!

  • This phone isn't any better than the Pearl with no camera except it has wi-fi and something else but I'm no phone genius. I hope the 8900 debuts...

  • It's a great phone!

  • well you really cant knock this phone down unless you own it. im no business person and honestly dont even NEED this phone. i picked it up on wednesdays release day and switching from a samsung d807 and sk3 to a device like this took some time....like an hour....my first blackberry and all i can say is that it truely is a great phone. quality. design. performance. ive had the windows mobile, the ericsons, the slim samsungs. but this is really great as far as email goes....which i am now using far more frequently than ever! a brick?!? hardly. very well built like i said. and as far as i can tell you just cant even compare it to other multimedia and "fun" centered phones because this phone is just on another level. good job RIM.....

  • its a very nice phone mostly to deal with e-mails but it cool..

  • okay.....snappers comment should be put at the top of this page, he's hit the nail on the head perfectly. whenever anyone logs in to write another ridiculous comment like "why does anyone buy these bricks" its not even 3G (who needs 3G for email!!!???).if you need mobile email your mad to buy anything but blackberry. and its the only device secure enough for CIA, MoD, the Army, US Congress etc etc youd never see them with a WM!!!!!Once youve used a BlackBerry you will never ever go back!!!i promise!!!

  • This is a fantastic phone, very easy to use and ergonomically designed. For those who bought the pearl - I suggest you put it on e-bay and acquire this more sensible option.

  • Available through Cingular Wireless customer care & www.cingular.com as of today, 02/21/07.

  • to all people who bash this phone, every US businessman is upgrading to this phone or the blackberry 8100 and as a cingular rep, this is a money maker. good phone and thanks rim for the money

  • It DOES have Wi-Fi. Check this out: www.blackberry8800.com

  • As you said snapper, these phones are mainly for business people. I'm no big CEO but I operate a small computer bizz and mainly use my 8700 for email and keeping my schedule together. I don't need a 3mp camera on my phone, I have a 8mp camera in my car plus I have an ipod. I had a d900 and I only used the mp3 player ocassionally. RIM is a great company and I hope they stick to what they know best.

  • I agree with those of you who see the Blackberrys for what they are: Email & PIM centric devices with a built in phone. For those of you out there who try to compare this device's multimedia features with the likes of Nokia, Samsung, Sony etc... what's the point? It's just the same as comparing RIM's dedicated email servers with an Alcatel java POP email client... it's not what they are designed for. When talking about Blackberry's, you have to remember that even when comparing with the likes of WM, it's the back-end systems that set it not only apart, but above other email centric devices. Blackberry's are designed with their demographic in mind, and that is business users. I supply mobile solutions to the Insurance industry in London, and I can tell you that from experiance my customers care not for 3MP cameras, mp3 players or even 3G. As far as i can tell, RIM is one of the best telecoms companies to listen to what the customer wants and reflects that in their portfolio.

  • I do not get what people like about these Bricks, just send & recieve email there r US$ 150 devices that can do that. So it has a good email system, have you seen a windows 5 mobile device check imate. This has a 65k display for god sakes & its coming soooooon so is iphone & nokia's E90. i am not even going to go for wifi & 3g coz its toooooooo much to ask from this company but i am really curious that what really makes you even look at this dumb brick?

  • available through cingular as of 2/20/07

  • Listen, no one does e-mail like Blackberry, no one. I have had 3 of there phones including the pearl and love each and every one. Yes, Nokia manufacturs the best phones with the most features, however Blackberry offers more corporate features and programs and all of it works and works well. i already have a unbranded 8800 ordered and paidfor through Blackberry and it is schedualed to be shipped out on the 15 of June and yes it is the crimson(w/camera) model. Samsung still makes a bad call, along with there side company LG, Nokia offers the best built product, SE offers phones more to there core sony group of users, no bad phones but not great, and Motorola has been using the same ui for years, there new ui is a bit better but already outdated. The only other killer phone out is the Fujitsu?siemens LooxT searies period

  • Effective and efficiency eaquals 3g just as lame as the Pearl. Will wait for the 3g verson.Iona

  • The 8800 is just a wider version of the Pearl with a full qwerty key pad. It's nothing special. Let us all hope that when RIM release the 9000 series in the Fourth Quarter of this year it will have a brand new operating system,3G,at least a 3Meg Camera,WiFi. KEEP YOUR FINGERS CROSSED.After all it's not a lot to ask for in this day and age.

  • This is a hott phone, im defernetly going to upgrade my 8707.

  • Well Guys The PEARL Was Launched For A Consumer Based Clientel. The Blackberry 8800 Is Based For Business Clientel.. Therefore There Is No Need For A Camera When Most Corporations Do Not Allow A Camera Based Device In The Building. Another Version Will Follow With A Camera Just Wait!!!

  • the pearl camera was horrible i thought they would completly step it up and now its has NONE :O

  • cingular will get it. no camera is really weak. if it had 3g and a 3mp camera itd be perfect

  • I believe this new gadget going to attract all those people who work round the clock on their emails. Personally, i like this very much! Will definitely get one when it launched.
