  • I got this new or almost new the demo phone been sitting in a store for a long time. This is still an ok phone for call and sms thats why i got it, to stop using smartphone. Wifi works but what to really use it for. Call quality is good and battery hold very good if you only use it as a phone. works fine for what it is. I like how small it is ! For touchscreen its ok. Did hang up one time so touch did not work for a few minutes. But after that fine. Its an very old "smartphone" what do you expect. Im surprised it works so well haha

  • i am 18 and i've been using this phone since 2 years..this phone is quite a strong phone..it works efficiently even after getting dumped from a good height :p but the fone freezes often.. i changed my battery once in 2 years and also updated my fon's OS to 7.1 ..now it is working great..:) the camera is good.. the only complain i have is regarding its internal memory which doesnot support much of games and apps :( well m planning to switch off to another blackberry ..can anyone suggest me something good? and with a reasonable price.. i dont want to go beyond 30K..THANKS..;)

  • Last things to know:all blackberrys have a problem with getting signal wherever you are,my dad and i both have blackberries he:z10 and i:curve 9380 we lose signal/fhone perception at the same places. 2. Blackberry inc. Will die soon

  • The good things:1.no problems with performance the first 1.5 years of purchase. 2.software on fhone is easy to use and a nice feeling to have in your hand (typing on bbm,facebook ect,playing mp3s,watching videos ect is verry nice). 3.good quality sound from earfhones and speakers(fhone speaker is a bit softer then previous bb curves,loud enough for me) 4. It has an eceptably good camera,no hd but still pretty good for capturing text on papers and reading from phone screen(good enough camera). 5. Realy verry light phone 6.a verry good looking fhone (screen is good,the fhone looks good but totaly dumber with games and apps then expected) 6. Its alot cheaper now 7. Exeptable fhone if your looking for a business only fhone.

  • this phone is sick. worst phone i ever used. hangs everytime. no better gaming experience. application storage is just 125mb. if 60-70mb of memory is not free, phone freezes or hangs a lot. just 35mb is for media use, it means there is just 35mb of phone memory for your files. you have to use external card for media use. battery backup is very bad. in 3G mode it lasts only for less than 2hours. but z10/z30 is good phone. I have'nt any complaint issue yet.

  • what a great phone...!!! i use old BB OS 7.0..that was much hang and no-more running battery..then after 6-months i ipdate phone to BB-OS-7.1..and now after BB-OS-7.1 i use this lastly 2-years...but phone no hang ..and battery back-up is too good..with 3g-internet...and i use this very smoothly now also..and i happy with this.. i love "BLACKBERRY"...:)

  • Check that your phone's memory is not full. Look for anything that was saved on the phone memory and rather move it to the mem card. Just try your best to keep the onboard memory clear.

  • Hello Get a latest bb app. for desktop and properly install it. If u have the proper app. and than it is not working properly than get it updated. If u had done both of the above and the problem remains the same uninstall the installed one and install the latest one properly. One thing very important, check out for 3rd and 5th pin of data cable connector and at the port of phone

  • I think it crashes because people don't keep the phone memory clear like i explained below. All the users i gave my advice to have a much better experience now. My BB downloads at an average of 200kb/sec, sometimes even 245kb/sec. I switch between apps and the phone is not that slow. It only becomes slow when phone memory is clogged. And my phone rarely restarts.. After all that I won't make it my primary phone, but only primary for entertainment purposes because it can play alot of different formats and good sound quality.

  • I have this phone for 2 years now. Yes it has issues and I'm more of a Nokia fan but you must learn how to control it. I got this phone for internet usage and added an 8Gig memcard. If you try your best to not let the battery reach the yellow stage before you charge it the battery will perform at it's best. If you change your network speed from 3G to 2G/Edge the battery will last the whole day with normal use. This includes Whatsapp, BBM, internet etc. Always use Exit when you're done with an app. If the phone performance gets slow or looks like it wants to hang the check under Aplications> Files> File Folders. Then while 'Device' is highlighted, press Bberry button to make menu come up and choose Properties. A report of the phobe's memory will pop up. Here it will show if the phone's memory is full coz of app data (Object usage) or something that was stored on the phone's memory. You need to look for what it is or restart the phone completely to clear the temporary 'Object usage' data. Then the phone will perform back to normal speed. Remember to make sure all apps and camera is set to store data to your memory card by default coz you need to keep the phone memory clear for performance.

  • I have this phone for over a year now. I'm facing lots of problems, mainly it hangs a lot especially after recharging and I have to reboot every time, which happens almost everyday. It deletes the what's app history every time I reboot, that's in addition to the battery that doesn't last at all. Despite all of this, I love the camera, It's amazing and has good quality plus playing HD videos and good sound.

I am 100% show that it is one of this. - one of your app is disturbing your phone - your software is not apdat, clean and loade a new one. - your memory rom is full of apps. Delet some to free the the phone at list at 60% - you have to subscrib to your BIS for rim connection, - make show that your blackberry ID is apdated. - no need of running many apps at the time, use "exit" when you have exit and close if no exit. NB: the more apps you run at the time, the more battery life you dran. If you live your phone on standby, the battery will last you the all day. But if your bbm, whatap, GPS, etc... Is running at the same time, or are not closed properly! Your battery will not even last for one hour, even if you put a new original battery, it will maybe go for 2h only. But this 9380 is a very good phone, coming to options. Camera, audio, videos, and 3G apps. It taks V7.1 software and suport HD videos. I do use my DSTV on it,good image, fast 3G connection, it is far better than the torch 9800 which I had before. Thanks. Enjoy it.

  • Hi! I am using a verry same phone for a year, and for me it works at 90%. The only major probleme is that the battery live is bad when 3G apps are on, running back ground. I allways have to make show that most apps are properly closed. It has good screen, very light in weight, good camera, it supports HD videos, from tablets, the 3G connections app runs fast, good sound on boty speakers, and nice shape, and it records nicely the videos, pictures are very sharpes. The most secret in most blackberry phones are to not over full the memory rom. Keep space for running apps, save on sd memories, not on the divice, and allso keep apdate or renew your softeware when you notice the freezing of the phone. I did use many diferent blackberries, I am just very fine with this 9380.

  • I have been using this phone since april 2012. Its just mere over a year and i am facing lots of issues. 1. It hangs innumerable times 2. It just reboots & reboots by itself 3. A new problem cropped up is that it it not detecting SD for storing whatsapp chat history 4. As it is getting older, it is not detecting phone signals if it is placed in some corner. 5. Battery signal shows abrupt conditions as such it will show full charged at 90% and then u need to do a battery pull for actual result of the battery status. Also at times it will show its endlessly charging. All in all, I think that I need to change the phone asap. Not to forget some positives (As per my point of view) 1. Light Weight 2.   • I can't agree more with you cyrax, I'm in a totally same situation now, a little over a year and my battery is now in a kaput condition. Actively use an app for quiet long time and boom, freezes and lags everywhere, not to mention the fast draining battery. Now, I really mean it now while I'm typing this, I don't know what happened to my battery, it wasn't in a drained condition nor even it's on low condition but when I was gonna unlock my phone and the screen didn't show anything, totally blank, I thought that it was another lag/freeze like always so I waited but nothing changed even after 10 minutes (usually it takes around 5-10 minutes to wait for it's freeze) so I did a battery pull and put it in again and in the middle of rebooting it went blank again (blank like it's off) so .. ..I tried to charge it but then the screen show a blank battery meter with a red cross above it, does that mean that my phone's not detecting any battery in it or what? To somebody who know this please reply to my post, it'll be a really big help. Thank you very much.

I recently got this phone on contract by Cell C and I have had endless problems, Cell C had to give me another Blackberry 9380 because the first one i had, had a software issue. The battery life on this phone WONT even last a day, the phone will seem nice and all but once the problems start then you screwed. It has a 1 year warranty on it, while other phones have a 2 Year warranty

  • Pathetic battery life ... I have been having so many problems with regards to battery life of my BB 9380 Curve. The phone randomly just switches off and always restarts/ reboots. I tried removing my SIM card and replacing the battery but it takes forever and this is not normal for this to happen more than three times a day. The phone is just over a year old so could the battery have deteriorated?

  • From a little over a year of usage, I can solidly confirm that this phone is absolutely terrible. Repeated restarts and freezes, terrible resource management and battery life. This phone only works properly when you don't use it. Any kind of usage causes over-heating and restart, especially with simultaneous use of BBM and WhatsApp. I urge anyone reading this to NOT get this phone.

  • Dear MasterBEERTJIE I am glad you haven't had any issues with your phone. My BB 9380 has given me nothing but problems, and I've only had it for 8 months now. THe keylock button is broken, the pick-up button is cracking, I have to take out the battery at least 5 times a day to get my messages, the battery lasts all of 30 min and then goes flat, it's internet connection is pathetic and the phone lags badly. (Please note - I am not a rough user. The screen is unscratched, even though you can't get a cover for this phone anywhere.) Calls drop for no reason and some calls just don't come through. However, this is not what bugs me the most. The worst thing is the phone's total lack of sensitive reaction protocol. For instance - the bloody phone keeps putting itself on hold, while I am mid sentence. When it doesn't do that, it beeps and beeps like I have Tourette's Syndrome - all this while I am on the phone with my clients (it comes across as very unprofessional). And nothing you do can stop it. NOTHING! I can assure you - if none of your customers have returned their Curve 9380's, it is only because the phones have driven them insane and they are not able to return it, or they have thrown it against a wall in pieces. THIS IS A CRAP PHONE!!!

  • In my opinion,dis 9380 is d best of d curve models,good screen sensitivity,gyd battery life and stylish. As regards heating just upgrade yo OS and dats all. When running on wifi it dos get hot-guess dats a common issue with all bb. Switching off data service prevents d phone from using BIS so y wud u do such ept for wifi and hotspot usage. This is my second time of using dis phone as I water damaged d first.asides tourch 3(which looks just like it) and bold 5,dis phone is just a little from been perfect. My recommendation-BUY,UPGRade OS,use a screen and body guard and ENJOY!!!

  • to all those people out there, wondering if they should buy this phone,,, YES definately!! ive been using this phone for about 2 years now, i am working in a vodacom store located in upington northern cape, south africa.. ive been selling this blackberry for quite a while now. never once did a client came back to me with this blcakberry, where even the 9900 and the bold 9790 comes back daily!! this phone never lagged with me, never restarted for no reason etc. however the phone is getting quite hot when on the internet using a wifi conection to download movies, im currently running a 32gb card in this phone, and still this phone is taking it without issues, one of my friend is using the blackberry 9360 and i once moved my 32gb memory card to his phone, and the phone kept on restarting so yes... go buy this phone!!! thats if you live outside of south africa, because here this phone has been discontinued.. to make place for the new torch.. thats the only reason why blackberry is pulling this phone back, because its better than the new torch and way cheaper... if you dont believe me.... you dont have to. use your head and also use gsm arena for more info regarding this topic, search the torch and thereafter read the posts regarding 9380 peace!!

  • A full year of using this phone and I have had minimal problems. It is a good option in the lower spending bracket, it offers everything a bold with offer, with slightly less processing power and ram. A friend uses a Bold and I have found the 9380 is more reliable. Key to keeping this phone functioning properly is software updates as with all Blackberry's. Would recommend this phone to people not looking to spend a large sum of money. PS: it survived being completely immersed in a swimming pool for 30 plus seconds while on.

  • initialy, i also noticed that. later i found out that you need to turn off the radio if you'll going to use your wifi connection. turning off the data connection won't work (for the radio to avoid data charges) as wifi is also utilizing the same setting (data connection enabled). otherwise, you won't access your internet even though your wifi is already connected. this puzzled me for quite sometime...

  • through my experience with Blackberry I have discovered that they are all the same - give a lot of trouble! I will definitely not recommend such phone, I had one and the screen was randomly becoming all white or all black, than Vodafone changed it with a new one. this 'new' phone is also giving me trouble by freezing and with calls!!! don't know if I am unlucky with blackberry mobiles or it is just a fact that if you buy one you will be wasting your money!!

For those who have problem with battery life: disable automatic synchronization in Google Sync if you have installed it, the battery will last MUCH LONGER. Before I disable it, the battery can't last for a full day, but after I changed it to Manual Sync, I did a full night charge and now after 24h the battery level is still 80%.

  • I have blackberry 9380 now for about 6 weeks and find the following. Plus Points. 1) Battery lasts two days with texting and voice calls (I have turned the green led off) 2) Internet and BB Messenger (I dont use these as i use the phone for text and voice calls) I used to use the HTC Wildfire S which was bad on battery and low on ring volume which i found to be a disgrace. 3) Texting is good but i would prefer a 4x3 texting app (this should have been supplied as standard) Negative Points QWERTY Only is not ideal if you like predictive text. Auto Display Rotate (wont turn off by settings you have to get an app and pay for it, should be free). Otherwise great little phone much prefer this to Android.

  • Its a horrible phone. Freezes at drop of the hat. Battery is erratic and sometimes gets discharged with 4-5 hours. Internet connectivity is another problem. One has to restart to get internet.

  • This is a amazing handset but I would advice you to buy the samsung wave or similar stuff @ the same price range. The main problem with this cell is the poor battery life. It states 5hrs for talktime but it drains off in 3 hrs itself. Hence good features but no point when battery goes down so quick. - Don't Buy !!!

  • Bro I'm just simply saying that the torch has a higher specs than this 9380 curve ! And the torch has a fast browsing experience , fast CPU, autofocus 5mp(which the curve doesn't have autofocus) , 720p HD video, more internal memory.... Its just as simple as that! And for the battery life the curve has a better battery . But the torch once u upgrade it to 7.1 and download battery saver it will last a lot ! So as my experience with the torch 9860 its really the smoothest bb I've ever used .... Hope this helps buddy

  • hi have had mine now for two weeks and I have had a few other blackberry and android phones before. The phone is brilliant I was doubtful reading all posts here before I bought it but it has surprised me. The sure type predictive keyboard is fantastic and I set mine as the condensed sure type in portrait mode and normal qwerty in landscape mode. The battery is not the best but no where near as bad as it's made out to be in get a full day of business use from my 9380 on cell can in Johannesburg I recommend this phone I am a 50 something business man and the touch screen is no problem to adapt to. I well done Rim / blackberry you did something right

  • I have had this set for 3 weeks now and has been updated it is really fluid and does all tasks well, not a bad camera for 5mp. Problem is the battery is really poor which if improved would be a great set, I have reduced everything to try and improve this. I had an hour phone call the other day and took 3 photos and 5 texts and from a full battery went to zero dead. Unfortunately due to this I am afraid I will be getting rid of it as it just doesn't fit in with my needs as battery is so poor.

  • Hey !!!! This phone have very good design in comparison to other torch and bold.. very sleek and 98g in wieght. This phone has support of playing 1080p videos also. If u go to the camera and apps it comprises same apps nd camera to torch nd bold series. Price is also very affordable. It comprises all the specifications which the bold series have.

  • I got the curve 9380 just about a month ago. Its a far way better phone then all the other curves i had in the past and way better then my bold 9780. Out of all phones i had i like it the best. It never lags or freezes and its a very fast phone. Sometimes it gets frustrating to type but in the end its an amazing phone. I love the fact that its an original phone not alot of people have and that its really thin and pretty. i suggest people to either get the 9380 or the bold with the touch. no one should get curve 9300 because it freezes so much and breaks very easily.

There's the torch 9860 that I'm using right now and its by far superior than the 9380 . It has a faster cpu, more memory inbuilt , HD video , 5mp with autofocus ! And a larger screen ! So why do u waste your money on this phone ? The torch 9860 has the same price tag , for the same price and higher performance in every aspect.   • this phone is brilliant , i dont understand why everyone goes on about the buttons being hard to press actualy i find them quite easy to press , i have to admit they can get tricky to press trough a rubber cover for the physical buttons up front if you are used to the capacitive buttons on most android phones you may find the hard to press in my opinion all that is wrong is that the charging port is on the wrong side for typing in landscape and that battery cover is a pain in the neck to remove (interesting SD card slot ) now for the keyboard , i think most people will get used to it over time and the landscape is so much better for typing than portrait personally i think its one of the best touch screen keyboards i have ever seen, the camera is bad but not that bad , it takes ok pictures , haven't tested the video yet , as for the low resolution , it is realy OK for a phone in thes price range , it displays well , and i dont understand why people are so obsessed with the resolution being as high as possible , if you cant see the pixels any more that's where you should stop increasing the resolution, althou you acn still see the pixels on the 9380 it has a fine looking display , it has a very solid feel to it , nothing is lose or rattles its really solid , and then for that long bbm contacts list with the touch screen you can just flick trough them, battery life is really not bad it is actually quite good and that's all if you have any questions just post them here i will try to answer

I bought this phone here in the Philippines, 2 weeks ago, i miss my bold 9700 qwerty feature, but this curve touch is superb, screen,camera,signal,processor flawless compared to my bold 9700, but of course, qwerty phone is best if you text a lot. The only thing i didn't like about the curve 9380 is the battery life. Bold is the best when it comes to power, but to solve that i bought extra battery for this phone, i think i can use the smartphone for 1 to 2 years because of the updated features it has. NFC and augmented reality both added to bb os..

The new BB OS 7 is a beauty have used both the Os4.8 and OS 5 but the OS 7 is awesome with a new look and a few more full blown punches. The 9380 is super light, it feels like holding a leaf and that is far better than the storm 9530 i currently own...

  • I love it. There was a problem with the first one as the rim was not touching the screen, it was replaced and this one is fine. I have noticed that too many open apps slows the phone and sometimes freezes it, but close them and the phone functions perfectly. I still love it and will recommend it to anybody :)

But, it costs a lot. 2) Appstore quite sucks. 3) Still no flash!? 4) No keyboard. 5) 3rd party web browser quite sucks too. Opera mini is quite fast. But, when it comes to the downloading, sometimes it doesn't work at all. Ucweb is still under-development. Bolt. Well, it already gone with the bolt. You should think about it.

  • Hi Bobby, blackberry is one of the most hot selling phones for official purpose..I am using bold3 9780 one of the most awesome phones I've ever used, strong battery, easy to use and well within your budget it costs around 22k..or u can also go for bold4 9900 it costs around 29k.....both of them are amazing handsets..my recommendation will be with these two handsets

  • I'm using blackberry 9900 running OS 7.1 and IMO battery life is great. With heavy usage it easily lasts me the whole day and at times I don't charge it at all on the weekends if I don't use it much apart from a bit of BBM, calls and few emails.

  • This is in opinion regards to blackberry phones generally. Would love RIM to look into battery longetivity as the blackberry phones are prone to die out more quickly when engaged with so many applications.

  • Hi, Got this new curve and have been using it for almost 2wks now. Pros: 1. Really nice screen display (coming from Bold 9000) 2. Audio quality is loud enough (for music, videos, and calls) 3. Divx support out of the box 4. Hasn't bogged down despite running multiple apps 5. Hasn't frozen on me (yet) even when installing multiple apps simultaneously (was updating 5 applications at the same time) 6. Good camera performance (or at least good enough, coming from a BB) Cons 1. Audio for notifications (email, sms, calls, etc) is too low for my liking; it is most likely you will miss a call if your phone is in your bag 2. Back and home keys are difficult to press. You may also end up pressing the "end call" key when pressing back. And that's for someone who has small fingers! 3. Battery performance is not-so-good. Despite the reviews saying that it has the same capacity as higher end BBs (torch, etc), it only lasts me max of 36hrs (I get to stretch my BB9000 up to 48hrs+ of moderate to pretty heavy usage). This is for push email, app use (FB, twitter), texting, and calls (less than 2hrs per day). 4. Touch keyboard definitely not its strongest suit. Coming from a BB with a hardware keyboard, typing on this curve takes a lot of getting used to (still am, quite frankly). 5. Fingerprint magnet and easily gets scratched :( Despite the cons I've mentioned above, I honestly think that this BB is not so bad. I quite like it, actually. Looks nice, but screen protector and/or casing is a must, especially if you're as OC as I am (lol). Performance-wise, it is efficient enough though I would've appreciated better battery life.

  • this phone surely is not what i expected from bb....... i would any day vouch in for bb 8520...........bb is best with key pad and the touch sucks....its not what i would expect after investing 21k ......accelerometer is one hell of a thing in this phone.....i need to literally find an angle to align it.....touch is incomparable to any apple products as i use an ipod touch......this phone for sure is the worst i have made a purchase........i would go back to bb 8520 any day

  • purchased BB9380 3weeks ago... Pros: Pretty good phone with no lags during multitasking. Browser works well when it completely loads. Touch sensitivity is very good. Cons: The phones outer metal like lining seems to be not firm. I would like to know from other users if you all experience the same?

  • it is a super phone. bought it to replace my old bb curve 8520. with a price of 20000 was in a state of delima whether to invest or not, but my what a good buy it was. with the new os 7 it is an entirely new experience. on par with android n ios(except the app store obviously). slim stylish n yes very light to carry. great performance and yes a great camera n super sound quality thru speakers. M proud to own such a great phone :)

  • i bought this cell 4 days back ..its a good phone over all but the battery life isnt good... within 9 hours the the battery goes in to the yellow zone that is also without much of calls only bbm'ing ... it restarted twice .. while an app is downloading in the app world the phone is @ a stand still til it downloads.. and there are no THEMES ection in the app world ..it also says whats app snt supported fr this device but then i went to the official website of whats app and got it downloaded from there... thts it for now !

  • I got this device 2 days back and found it very interesting and appealing. I am in love with its design..it has X-Factor :-) 10/10 in design and UI. I have never planned to switch to Touch Screen..but this phone made me convinced to buy. Application are integrated well and it has clear and loud music too. The only thing i am struggling is TYPING..may be coz i amd using qwerty key pad since long and don't have practice in touch screen. Overall i would recommend this handset.
