BLU Life One (2015) - User Reviews

  • i got one in 2015 and mid year 2016 unfortunately in less than a year my phone got stolen :(

  • I had a Blu Life One for a little over a year and one day it suddenly stopped working. Same history here. :(

  • I suggest that you update to android lollipop before rooting

  • update your software please

  • I had a Blu Life One for a little over a year and one day it suddenly stopped working. No power, no nothing. I tried every button combination that I could find and nothing would bring it back to life. If the battery was removable I could have tried that to restart it, but that was not an option with this phone. I liked the phone while it worked, but now I have to look for something else that promises to be more durable. I will make sure my next one has a replaceable battery.

  • Phone worked well when I first got it... 1 - had my phone since nov/dec 2015, now approaching a year.. still can't get the update from kitkat to lollipop... 2 - doesn't display any notifications when i plug the phone into a PC, so I can't begin to transfer files via USB using this method on a PC - File transfer works only by using an app on my MAC, but I'm not always around my MAC. 3 - touchscreen seizes up very often and I have to lock the screen, (try to) unlock it multiple times before I have control over the touchscreen (for a short while).. 4 - i've either missed calls or hung up on people accidentally only after attempting to answer by swiping multiple times and the phone deciding to answer when it's ready to do so.

  • I have got this phone about 6 months ago, at the beginning it was great, but now it justs reboots and turns off and the only way to turn it on its to plug it and charge it, and lately, the phone keeps locking itself, it's really slow and have tons of problems. I really dont recommend this phone.

  • The battery is not removable. I purchased one back in January and was shocked when i got home to realise that the battery could not be removed. Be wary of this when purchasing as if there are any problems with the battery it cannot be replaced or with the charging port a universal charger cannot be used.

  • This one fit my BLU Life One (2015). It did not however let me plug in a headphone(Square (for credit cards)). Case is to big to allow headphone jack to plug in with case on phone. Maybe it can be filled down a bit to make it fit?? Lol Look at this on eBay

  • There is a slot for two sim cards. I'm going to say you only have one in. I have the same on my screen. I don't need two phone numbers though.

  • I have been trying to figure out how to save photos that people send me via text message. I have tried everything. Can anyone help? I have only had this phone for 2 weeks. So far I think it's OK, but I think I prefer my other phone an LG

  • Yes, you can use two simple cards. You can have two numbers one one phone as I did with mine.

  • Hi click (with your touchscreen) reboot now. You are in developer test engineering menu.

  • The stock messenger has problems easiest way around it. Is to download different messenger I put google messenger on mine and my wife's phones.

  • Getting a "No Sim Card" at top of phone, even though I have removed and replaced it several times. No option to log on our Wifi at work, but I can at my home. Have i altered a setting ? Clueless

  • This phone is crap!! It continuously shuts down, locks up , and just all around a junk phone..When it locks up all you can do is keep the screen on to run it out of power, then recharge it and turn back on. This takes a minimum of 6 hours or more. In the mean time you miss all calls, texts etc. Every time I have called the company either I get put on hold forever then disconnected or they are closed. Wish I had Never bought this misery..

  • I cannot send or receive picture messages ..may someone please help me and show me how I may

  • Your probably in recovery mode. Use the volume keys to go up and down and the power key to go (enter.) Use the "reboot system now" option.

  • i accidently turned my off an when i went to turn it back on its giving me loading options to reboot, reset, power down, update from an sd card. i've tried clickng every one of them to get my phne to turn back on an nothing is working. Can anyone help me to figure out how to fix this, i really do not want to buy another phone.....

  • Can anyone tell me if Blu Life One L120 cases will fit Blu Life One X011Q? Or give me a website that has cases for the X011Q? I'm not finding anything for it... TIA!

  • please some feed back phone went bank red light still on but unresponsive.... [email protected]

  • Maybe you have a "Developer options" enabled? Check in settings, near the bottom of the main settings list, just above "About device"

  • Hello, I have been using the phone for 4months, one day i realised that a screen is coming up showing information like FAST FTM, ESSENTIAL TEST, PCBA TEST, FULL TEST, ITEM TEST, TEST REPORT, GPS., i am trying to get out of this screen but it is not enabling me to. my lower volume button is not working. please help

  • One of the slots is both SD card and Sim card capable. So you can either have two sim cards inserted but no sd card slot available OR have two sim card inserted and you wont be able to insert SD card. It's very weird how they made it (probably because the size?). I would recommend the Blu Life One X 2016 version if you need two sims and a sd card available.

  • Please show how to install ...

  • I am reading alot about storage o. This device,I take alot of pictures,I plan on using tmobile,I don't understand about the 2 slots for either sim card ir sd card? Would I be able.to use an sd card to store pics as well as have ot for tmobile card? Please explain if you know this info..

  • can I use two different phone companies on the duel sim? I want to be able to use two numebers in one phone is that possible with this?

  • Great phone for its price. Good for daily usage and basic browsing. Bought this and tested this phone for a week before handing this off as a gift. I must say that this is a very underrated phone and it's probably one of the best low budget phones. If you're looking to root this phone. I would stay far away. At the moment, there is 0% root support for this phone. No custom recovery, no custom roms, and barely any support from xda nor CM. I recommend this phone to normal basic users only. Until there is root support (probably never) then I would recommend it for more advanced users.

  • My girlfriends by blu life one in two weeks it stop working..can you help?

  • Duel sim ? only one is usable. The other one is combined for SD card and sim which only takes either nano sim or micro SD ..

  • Duel sim ? only one is usable. The other one is combined for SD card and sim which only takes either nano sim or micro SD ..

  • This phone is a basic, but works fine. The Android 5 updated with no problem, but the functions are limited. The 2Gig of ram does wonders. It is fast. The pictures by default load into the phone's internal memory (8G), but only 4G is useable. I have to transfer the pictures into a computer and then onto the SD card. If anyone has a easier way, please share it.

  • i have two blu phones that are junk. they stopped working after 3 weeks.i can not imagin i am the oly one to get two phones in a row with the same problem

  • How can i upgraded to lollipop?

  • the download upset a lot of my in-phone programs, an d: i can no longer text pictures!!!!!!!

  • It already came????

  • I just updated to lollipop and my phone froze...any ideas on what to do?

  • Yes. Downloading mine now!

  • I got this phone in August, and we are currently in December, i cannot complain this is a roc solid phone, one of the best blu phones i ever had, the design is completely georgeous, need to hold it to truely appreciate it. And now that the lollipop update is here its even better, the only con about this phone is that only 4 gig of the 8 gigs are avaidable so youre going to find yourself running out of space very quickly if you are a heavy user, other than that this is the best phone you can find for the price #HighlyRecommend

  • the lollipop update is here

  • BLU is simply cheating the consumers with the false promise of upgrade to Lollipop for almost a year now. Is it ever going to come?

  • Yes 4G works great with SIM 1

  • What's going on for the update?!!!

  • Launched with the promise to update to Lollipop in July 2015, it's the end of November 2015 and no word on an update yet. Shame on BLU for false advertising. :(

  • @wersy As I can see, Poland uses bands 900/1800 in 3g and 4g, also one provider uses 2600 band in 4g. So BLU Life One will be compatible with 2600 band provider (Aero2).

  • Did anyone used this phone in Europe (Poland in particular?) How's the coverage, 3G speeds etc.? I'm afraid it might not have the right bands...

  • Yes! I have one of these and am using a standard SIM on slot 1, straight talk, and a micro T-Mobile card on slot 2, works like a champ, everything but 4g, but you don't realize it

  • I love the details on this mobile device. Great job putting it together...

  • I thought I read online during research that the micro SIM slot (SIM1) doesn't support 4G LTE communication bands (4,7,17). But now I con't reproduce that research. Anyone know if I can use the Micro Sim slot (SIM1) and get 4G speeds? for those wondering, I am trying to free up the microSD slot currently used by my nano SIM card. ;)

  • Loving the phone so far. Was surprised that using the SIM2 slot (nano sim slot) prevents use of the microSD slot. you can use one or the other, not both. Does anyone know if I witch to the micro SIM slot (SIM1), do I still get the same band coverage for 4G bands (4/7/17)?

  • with mine happened just the same thing and then at the store we noticed that the protector was pressing the start button. They took a very sharp knife and they cut the excedent which was causing the matter and wala!

  • Anyone has problem with this phone keep re-starting itself? I just received mine today, NEW, but it keep shutting down and restarting itself... Any thoughts?

  • LOVE this phone! I had a larger budget for a new phone but chose this one on purpose. I love the design with the very matte dark charcoal sandstone back, the squareness of it, the ease of sitting down with a 5 inch phone in a pant pocket, the Sony IMX135 sensor on this phone which yields excellent pics, the bright display which I had to turn down, the very loud and clear speaker and the small charger and flat cable to prevent knots. A friend has an amoled 1080p samsung screen and I HONESTLY don't see a difference from this phone at its brightest setting. Download Nova launcher if you want to customize your app drawer and home screens. Excellent price for this phone!

  • Bought a Blu Life One. Not a bad phone but....I bought it thinking I could flash lollipop on it. Don't be fooled by sites that say you can download files for lollipop for this phone or the life one XL. Wait for Blu to make lollipop official. Mine is going back. I might get it if/when lollipop is official...or if someone from xda posts a viable ROM. Trust no one else.

  • One month of used, and the blu one life, died

  • No your phone is broken. Send it back.

  • The one gig of ram doesn't cut it.

  • i have enjoyed my Blu Life One phone for 6-weeks, but am wondering if I have now discovered one of its drawbacks? For work, I am trying to set up contact groups and am not having any luck figuring it out, or finding tutorial help? As I try placing a name into a group, it is not saving it! Please help if this makes sense.

  • I just got my phone yesterday, but my LED notification light doesn't seem to be working. Is there something I need to do to set it up?

  • We are all fighting the good fight for lollipop on this device, BLU is coming up short For the review part! YOU MUST KNOW! -Using a nano sim takes up your MicroSD card slot, its got a combo tray but only one at a time, if you have a microSIM and dont plan on using dual sim then your good to go Pros -Excellent Cameras, Im pressive front facing camera -LTE -Solid Performance in most apps -Decent battery under "NORMAL" use Cons -Need Lollipop -Need Better Camera Software -Recent Snap Chat and Facebook updates make those apps slow

  • anyone has the lollipop update yet??

  • anyone why is the upgrade for this phone not available as yet come on blu.

  • looking from the back, the micro sim slut is on the right side of the phone. the nano sim slut is on the left side of the phone. however, this slut is also the sd card slut. therefore, you can only have a nano sim or sd card in at once. not both at the same time. so, choose wisely lol

  • Looks like the nano sim and micro sd card are the same. How do i insert the two please

  • Update to Lollipop was promised in July. It's now August 10 and we're still on Kit Kat. I can't find any update information on the Blu web site. Anyone know?

  • I recently purchased this phone. Everything was working fine except the speaker volume was much lower than either Samsung S3 or LG E970 phones that we currently use, to the point where I send it back. Also, the signal strength is not as good.

  • I own one of these devices along with the Blu Life 8 and honestly when it comes to software , the life 8 is better .. (1) Blu life one Cannot transfer apps to SD although you transfer it to SD and it says it was transferred, checking storage verifies it was not transferred. (life 8 does). (2) The original Launcher should've been Google. (3) You cannot Use dual sim and SD at the same time on Life one (life 8 can). (4) Blu Life 8 USB host capable ( life one not). On the down side the life 8 USB port is very fragile and getting the sub board is nearly impossible.

  • At the end of july.

  • Does anyone know when the lollipop update will start coming out for this phone?

  • why does philippine sim card like globe or smart sim card are not working and it says... " SIM CARD IS MISSING or NOT SUPPORTED"

  • yes the phone supports emojs

  • does this phone support emojis?

  • does this phone support emojis?

  • Good for you. I just got my Idol 3 today also. Let us know what you think of it.

  • Same thing happened to me, but my phone was delivered yesterday!!!

  • Mine said the latter part of July and I began to question whether I should wait or not. Deciding that a better phone was in order, I ordered an Idol 3 for my wife. I would have ordered it originally but I still think it is a bit ugly even though a friend bought one and it is a hell of a phone. I just ordered the Idol 3 and then found an email that said my Blu would arrive on June 30. Too bad, I went ahead and cancelled it. Probably for the better anyway. Eight gigs of memory and one gig of RAM just wont cut it for a long term phone- spare? maybe. The Blu sure looks like it had some promise but just too damned limited for me. Good luck with yours and I'll bet it will come sooner.

  • I pre-ordered this phone @Amazon on June 11. This phone did not become available on June 19 as promised. Yesterday it showed on Amazon that the new release would be July 17. Today they have removed that and list it as unavailable although my order now says I will receive it July 21. This type of thing makes it worrisome to trust anything from this company. You probably can't go wrong for $99 yet I don't feel good about it at this point.

  • Battery is none removable

  • Battery ins non-removeable. Sorry.

  • Does anyone know if the battery is removable? and is it a standard battery? I need to send this out of the USA and the Postal service says I cant send it with a battery. (So I am thinking of taking it out an shipping it without the battery and having my brother abroad buy a battery locally)

  • As of this morning, 6/15, it is no longer available for pre order. Oversold maybe?

  • I believe the intro price is good for one week. After that the normal price is $149 USD

  • I just ordered one for the fun of it and I may give it to my wife to replace her Studio 5C HD which has been a rock solid phone. She has no demands beyond texting and taking pictures. The specs are not high and I am not going to compare it to any flagship phones but rather rate it per her minimal needs stated above. If the battery life and GPS is good, it could be a winner. I'll keep you all filled in on how it performs. For a hundred dollars, I don't see how I can go wrong.

  • it's available for pre-order until the 19th of june.

  • For those of you wondering, the phone is now available for pre-order on Amazon.com. It hasn't officially come out yet, but it will come out on June 19th. The pre-order price is $99 and yes, it is available in the U.S.

  • It's now available for pre-order on Amazon.

  • anyone has bought this cell? Where?

  • I actually had a blu life one. Problem is sea water detroyed it

  • BLU has announced that this phone will be getting the Lollipop update in July so it will probably be released shortly before then...

  • Your right I've been looking at this device and don't see it no where in sight. For some reason Blue has delayed the launch of the device because it should of been out already. Blue website has the pic and specs but no device to sell which is strange to announce it at CES and no release date.

  • Nobody knows where the life one is, I have only seen the pictures, even the people at Blu don't have a clue about the phone So commenting on something which does not exist is not right.

  • the same set is released in pakistan as q mobile z8.

  • No one, not even the reps at Blu Products Main Office, knows or even have heard when BL1 (2015) will be released. No word, nothing...all silent on release. Unsure what exactly this does to BLU's reputation or dependability. For a start-up company in a very competitive Cellphone world, no available BL1(2015) promised to be publicly released Apr 1, 2015-- does not bode well to attract new customers.

  • I don't know why i keeps saying that this phone is released. I can't find it anywhere online. Does anyone know the real release date?

  • does it has LED notification light??please tell me

  • Blu Life one has newer chip set which is snapdragon 410 64bit processor which has less battery consumption compact design better battery and better for daily use if you want good stuff go for Galaxy s4,LG G2,G3 etc

  • does it has notification LED light?

  • Released in Pak.. you can purchase Qmobile Z8 same model..

  • Where can you get this phone from? Anyone knows?

  • No.. Root mean to access system permission.. Its only for developers..

  • It says it has been released on this website, but I haven't found it anywhere on amazon or best buy. Does anyone know where to buy this?

  • Where in USA can u buy Blu Life One (2015) ??

  • Is this Blue Life One (2015) available anywhere in USA??? What is the price in USA? Not even the Blu Customer Service have an answer.

  • What is a root? Is that another language slang?

  • Kindly tell me how to Root this phone? :(

  • Yes it has.

  • this phone is good pel.hey anonymous are ur ways connecting to the net covered

  • Can I assume this has a notification light?

  • I own a BLU Studio 5.0 LTE at the moment and I'm looking forward to this phone coming out. Either this one or the Life One XL. All the specs look to be similar to the 5.0 LTE with the exception of the camera MP and processor (Snapdragon vs. Mediatek). I'm more excited to be able to get Lollipop. After using a phone for a while I don't really notice the bezel around the screen but looking at these specs I'm getting hung up on the screen to body ratio and wish that BLU would work on that for all of their future phones. Most of their phones are somewhere in the 66.5% range. The BLU Studio X Plus although cheaper than the New Life One and Life One XL has a 70% screen to body ratio. I want the premium price with premium specs. Look forward to purchasing this phone (or the Life One XL) and seeing what it's like.

  • Ha there is plenty of technology for 1080 and 1440 that guy must have flip phone.I think the 5 in is better since they have same resolution.the screen would look better on 5 in

  • There is more than enough technology for 1080p resolutions, there is technology for quad HD (1440p) resolutions, an easy  example is the nexus 6

  • Hmm

  • The 1080 resolution is something that's nice, but apparently the technology to support it is just not there yet, in any phone. Better to go with 720 resolutions. Just to clarify, the LG G3 apparently also suffers from performance problems related to 1080 resolution. Google for "change lg g3 screen resolution performance" and look at the top few links.

  • welp...one plus will soon file a lawsuit.

  • You should definitely the BLU Life One XL. If you look at some unboxing videos of the BLU Studio 6.0 LTE,it lags a lot. I'm assuming it is because of either poor software optimization or because the Snapdragon 400 can not handle the 1080p screen.

  • Life one Xl or Studio 6.0 LTE? Life One Pros: - GPU & Chipset - Bluetooth V4 - Cheaper Studio 6.0 LTE Pros: - Memory - Resolution - Battery The CPU clock in Studio 6.0 is faster but older than in Life One. Which one do you prefer?

  • hey u .....watch wat u say

  • nice phone

  • hey its a gr8 phone buddy...:)

  • Is this phone works with Tmobile 4G LTE?

  • Heck yeah it is, this one ha San sd card do add expandable memory.

  • It does not appear to be. Time to upgrade my Life One X (2013)

  • Is the battery built in?

  • Is this better than the Vivo air? I'm not sure which one to get

  • Why is my blue phone not loading it. Coming on but its not loading

  • i have large display for 5.5 inch and large battery backup and clear screen and high camera clority

  • 179 $ for the 5 inch model and 199$ for the XL 5.5 inch model.

  • According to wha I see I think it is fine the question is who made it and what is the price?
