BLU Studio Energy - User Reviews

  • Hi, my phone overheats often and one time crashed and had to take a long time to reboot. I want to know if my phone has a virus or if I just use it too much. (BLU studio energy)

  • My phone when switched on in a 4G network does not show 4G but only H+. The difference is H+ for the same network is faster than before. I expect to see 4G displayed on the phone.

  • can u back to kitkat

  • Hi I happen to be a cellular technician you are right about HSPA and HSPA+ both have to do with GSM Networks HSPA+ on gsm depending on the device could either be a 4G HSPA+ device or a LTE 4G device if a device has the hardware to run 4G and an HSPA speed it will be slower than LTE but it's still 4G LTE stands for long-term evolution LTE plus like of the new iPhone 7 it's a faster than the four days

  • Actually they are different HSPA belongs to the WCDMA, which is 3G. HSPA+ is the upgraded version, so some carrier such as tmobile advertise it as "4G" The real 4G should be LTE exclusively.

  • My experience was that the phone seemed great for the first few months... then I started noticing it would wake up when I powered it down, the battery would drain independently, the flash light would light up unexpectedly... the OS had a virus attached from factory in China, apparently... the return date expired, and my fix turned it into a brick. The service support in the Philippines wanted nothing to do with it. Lost about $300. The BLU repair centre in Florida also had hundreds of complaints form unhappy consumers. Maybe, you'll have better luck with a budget brand.

  • Does this Blu Studio Energy have an indicator light for charging and/or messages, missed calls?

  • As with any Android phone, when you do a major update, always do a factory reset after installing it. Doing this will prevent most of the problems listed on this thread.

  • This phone uses hspa+, not 4G. It's about the same speed, just different technology.

  • can someone post a screenshot with 4G?

  • Good but Ram and camera is low !!!!

  • the files you suggested andrew fortier are no longer available!! im screwed!!

  • So it works.. I just installed blus lollipop and I run out of space after just a few apps.. I'm a noob but can you explain more about your method? Eg do I need to backup everything if I don't need any old pics n that?

  • There's some good news for those who upgraded only to be disappointed... Get a clean junkware free Google Android Lolipop installation on the Blu Studio Energy: 1) Install KingRoot & root the phone (kingroot.net) 2) Purchase, install and run SuperSu-Me (from the Google Play Store) 3) Download, install and use Flashify (from the Google Play Store) to flash TWRP Recovery to the phone (found at blu-dev.com) 4) Download "Lollipop AOSP 5.0.1" (found at blu-dev.com) and place the zip file on your sd card 5) Reboot into TWRP recovery and do a full backup of EVERYTHING (I hope you have a big sd card) 6) Flash the ROM's zip file, and do a factory reset in TWRP 7) ??? 8) Profit!!! You now have a device that's 40% faster, and has seemingly endless storage for apps... Not sure how they pulled that off in the ROM, but it feels like a completely new phone! I'll probably never get a new phone after this!!!

  • DONT EVER UPGRADE PERIOD! I have to return this phone after upgraded getting a new one. Battery is drained don't matter if you do factory reset, Storage just kills all and can't add any apps. I read the review and thought I could try it out, boy am I wrong, should of listened!!! If you don't want to stick with all the problems and have a nice long battery phone stay with Kitkat!!! Lollipop will not help at all not with this phone!

  • im having the same problem here as well. i looked everywhere online to find a way to downgrade my studio energy to kitkat. companies like blu have really got to listen to their customers opinions more often.

  • contacts always says not responding and also the phone needs to be restarted frequently to accept or make a call

  • I updated my phone(Blu studio energy) to lollipop 5.0.2 from kitkat and my camera stopped working and occasionally it doesn't read my SD card

  • Hi, I have the same problem too, I loved the phone till i used KitKat, now after the lollipop update, the 4G is not seen, nor is the Face recognition. There are also other problems like Battery draining really fast. The storage is also insufficient, i mean if you download around 15 apps, it says insufficient storage. The launcher is also completely wired. And now, all of a sudden, the sim is not being recognized by the phone, wheras in the others it does

  • I regretted updating my phone should have stayed with kit Kat ... The update has some really annoying errors and I can go back to my previous build ... I got to get a new phone ...my advice if you buy this phone don't update it

  • The update that was released has errors if you get this phone don't update it

  • BLU Studio Energy 2 - New MicroSD 64GB formated on my MAC with FileSystem type: FAT resulted for FAT32 system to be created. That worked without any issue on my BLU.

  • After update to Lollipop the 4G data connection is gone, it doesn't matter what you try, is gone forever, also the native camera app is useless. Give us a new update BLU, please.

  • I fully second you on that Android 5.0.2 lollipop update, it is POOR, I would actually like to use expletive words as its description. Now, I discovered you can get app drawer functionality back if you download a different launcher from that Carefree launcher they included. Google Now is the launcher I've loaded. However, you have a problem if you have more than 20 or 30 apps. The phone will tell you insufficient storage, even if you have a 32 GB or 64 GB SD. The reason is that these phones have 8 GB of internal ram only, and allocate a mizerly 5.5 GB of that ram to the system and apps, and 2.5 GB to a simulated SD card. You only have 5 1/2 GB for most of your apps and for the android operating system and Lollipop is bigger than KitKat so your system space gets crowded out. You can factory reset your phone and reinstall most or all of your apps, or you can simply clear all your app caches. Then you can go to your apps settings under advanced options in settings and ONE BY ONE try to move apps to the SD card. Some will move part of their contents while others will not move at all. That will allow you to clear a little space for additional apps. If you can load the Google Now Launcher, it will make your phone seem a bit smoother again and give you back your app drawer.

  • Frustrated with the Android update. Bluetooth pairing issues and a decidedly difficult time getting a useful response from product support. I would happily go back to the Android 4.4 that came with it and worked PERFECTLY but not for what BLU wants to charge for that. Sad. A product with great potential but decidedly second rate support. Not good for companies that want someone to purchase the NEXT phone from them.

  • Blu studio energy update lollipop. I have 4 icons double which I am not able to remove them. Anyone can assist me? thank you

  • it happened also to me. just do the factory reset which will bring again to lollipop and the sim will be recoconozed

  • I have updated mine to lollipop, and now dont recognize my SIM CARD what should I do?

  • After the lollipop update everything seems fine except the phone's advanced settings for volume up to answer phone doesn't work - model D810L energy studio

  • You are not the only one having major problems with the Lollipop 5.0.2 update for the BLU STUDIO ENERGY. I downloaded it and installed it on February 15 and seriously regretted it. This version of Lollipop removed the familiar "app drawer". It also hides your SIM card and sometimes people report it hides your SD card. Those are temporary problems quickly solved by doing a factory reset of your phone then reinstalling all your apps from your Google account. However, there is an unsolvable problem if you run a lot of apps, say 50 or 60 on your phone. It is the repeated problem of INSUFFICIENT STORAGE. It seems preposterous when you have a 64 GB SD in your phone. The problem is that our phones have only 8 GB of internal storage which is partitioned to 5.5 for system and apps and 2.5 for a simulated internal SD card. You actually have only about 5.5 GB available for system and Apps. Lollipop is bigger than Kit Kat so it uses up more of that 5.5 GB. The system programs are for the most part, not movable to SD AND many of your apps were designed to prevent users from having the option to move to SD {That is why it is grayed out when you try to do it for many apps}. With lollipop, it turns out that 8 GB, especially that 5.5 GB system partition is too small to install many of the apps I need to use along with the android system, and quite probably, the BLU provided bloatware including their BLU bootscreen. I actually attempted to root my phone multiple times using Kingroot, Kingoroot, I-root and it would either hang, or go to completion to give me a "root failled" message I loved my BLU STUDIO ENERGY but after that lollipop upgrade, I parked it for now. I think that if I could successfully root it and re partition the storage to 7GB system !GB simulated SD that it would operate more like a phone that allows installation of apps. The new BLU STUDIO ENERGY 2 is actually a 16 GB device instead of an 8 GB device.

  • I was in error when I posted that the battery is removable. It is indeed, NOT EASILY REMOVABLE as you posted, and I do not like that feature. I was fooled at the time because upon quick opening of the device, the battery is visible, like many removable batteries AND I saw the battery advertised for sale on E bay. I'm posting this comment because I cannot see how to remove my own earlier post when I discover it contains an error as my 1-10-2016 assertion does. Like the BLU STUDIO ENERGY batter, our posts aren't removable.

  • If I try that will I lose all my info get lost?

  • Fixed the No Sim after Lollipop Update The no sim problem got solved for me after rooting using Kingroot. Not sure why but as soon as it got rooted the phone started to read the sim cards. Very weird.

  • I can confirm that it has disappeared and searching the phone I cannot find a way to get it back.

  • Can someone confirm if they took the app drawer out on the lollipop update, my white icon is missing yet i see it on screenshots of same phone device types.

  • Am I the only one who has yet to have any major problems

  • does this reset all the data? should i reinstall everything?

  • my update appeared, then after downloading it, installing gave error, when i went back to download again, it said i have latest version, which is the SAME old 4.4.1 kitkat i have had all this time, they probably pulled it.

  • To solve the problem with the sim/imei: enter the factory mode pressing power + volume up per five seconds(with turned off phone), afther use the volume butons to scroll and power to select. Click on "wipe data/factory reset", click yes and reboot. The problem is solved. If do not solve plese comment.

  • DO NOT UPDATE, BEWARE,the mob can not see that there is Sim card, completely rubbish

  • The same happened to me, simply it forgot that it is a phone, can not see that there is Sim card, completely rubbish

  • Just received the lollipop update, i am downloading it now, will test it and come back you

  • Can't make calls after lollipop update anyone else having this issue an also phone keeps restarting

  • Can't make calls after lollipop update anyone else having this is

  • I too was upset but, about 7 months after the promised upgrade date, it's finally available. On Feb 5th, 2016 I checked for updates on my phone and it was available

  • This company does nothing but lie about updates...I was promised an update...Where? When? oh wait last year I was supposed to get Lollipop....I hate this companies practices.

  • The battery for the Blu Studio Energy can be replaced

  • The Blu Studio Energy actually has a 5000 mAh battery that is removable and replaceable. It is inside the case with the Sim and if you chose to add one, the SD Card

  • Reboot your phone

  • The Studio Energy has a built in non-removable battery. The specs should be updated to reflect that. I bought one assuming I could replace it - but you can't. All batteries eventually fail and need to be replaced I will have to replace the entire phone when this happens. I am not happy.

  • Good phones, great battery! I fully charged it when I got it, but had to wait a week to get microSIM card. That week, messing w/ camera, tweaking settings & getting familiar w/ it, by battery only dropped to 96%. Stayed that way for a day. Force stopping and/or disabling unused Apps is somewhat limited, sucks, cause it's the biggest thing you can do to maximize battery life. A little lag sometimes is not a big trade-off for not having to charge it all the time.

  • Phone not vibrating while on vibrate please help

  • Blu Phones (at least all I have had) don't accept EXFAT formatted 64GB SD cards only FAT32, 32GB SD cards so you'll never get "up to" 64 GB with a micro SD card until they fix the OS. Maybe by the time the get to the "X" OS's.

  • Yes, I am having trouble getting my phone to except the sd card.

  • Hey to everyone expierencing SD card trouble. You need to reformat card to fat 32

  • This phone is amazing. I got mines today. Its a bit laggy, don't expect lightening speed from this phone but it keeps up a bit. Both camera are superb in proper lighting. The battery does as it says.... Overall... U shud get. Would like lollipop update!

  • This phone is basically Gionee Marathon M3, but will a slightly lower specification in case of Cameras etc. mainboard is the same. You can check Gionee M3 lollipop updates (latest is Gionee_M3_0202_T8245 or T8295 or Gionee_M3_0202_T8310) and install. But, only 1.80GB free space as rest is taken by the system. But, original firmware number 8195 also is very good.

  • Sane bro this phones good and all but they need a new update fast and i mean real fast its pissing me off

  • My son, a junior engineering student, and I both bought the Studio Energy in April 2015. And, both of us love it. It's fast. It does everything we needed or expected it to. The battery lasts a full week for me, not quite a long for my son ... love that. And, the icing on the cake is, it's made in the U.S.A. Thanks to gsmarena.com for it's objective ratings and comparisons. Hugely helpful.

  • Totally agree. Now Blu came out with the Blu Energy "2", which does have lollipop. So to get the upgrade you need to buy a new phone. Deceptive trade practices indeed.

  • this shi# does not have Gyroscope!!!!

  • Disappointing that BLU failed to honor its OS upgrade. We call that Deceptive Trade Practice here in Texas.

  • Having problems with a new memory card it won't load to my phone at all

  • HELP! AMAZING phone! Everything works fine but the data connection. In places that I should be getting 4g, I only get E. In fact, E is all I get. What do I do?!

  • Same here bro doesn't detect my sim after update and its a brand new sim working perfectly fine before update. Keeps asking/telling me to turn on sim I do and it does nothing getting frustrated.

  • Good phone with great battery life. bad; awful for updates broken promises and bad customer information

  • Can anyone confirm if this has slots for micro and nano SIM cards? I see that in the specs but want to be sure. It might have both using Micro though. I have right now another dual-sim cellphone using the old SIM standard size so I'm wondering if I need to ask for new SIMs.

  • I did a software update on my phone now it wont recognize my sim card. I put my sim card in a different phone & it was recognized. Can someone help on what to do?

  • thanks folk, you helpedme a lot!!!

  • Yes 4G works (I'm on the AT&T network thru Consumer Cellular). If it says 4G on top of the signal bars then it's picking up a 4G network. No you don't need to switch your card to the 2nd SIM slot. It has 2 SIMs to run 2 phone numbers on one phone. Which is great if you are a frequent traveler to other countries or if you have 2 cell phones - like a personal and a work phone - instead of carrying 2 phones, you can put both SIM cards in this phone and both numbers will ring to the same phone. The minor annoyance is if you DON'T need 2 numbers - as any time you reboot you will get an error notice that there isn't a 2nd SIM loaded.

  • I'm having a problem with my phone randomly rebooting. I've also learned that even though I purchased my phone at a Cricket store, Blu Energy isn't a Cricket authorized phone, so they can't help me. I can't even change carriers because Blu Energy isn't compatible and has $0 trade in value!!!! DONT DO IT!!!

  • I'm having the same problem with my phone randomly rebooting. • So I got this phone about 3 monnths ago. I love it! very fast, battery lasts 2 days of accessive use!! Highly recommended!

  • some one helpme this amazing phone uses 2 SIM card and the box of the features of the phone displays 4g, im using my only sim card on the 1sth sim card slot, does anyone knows if the phone is really cappable to use 4g? do i have to switch my sim card to the 2nd sim card port? thanks CINDY GARCIA

  • Very Good Product for the Price... 1GB RAM is the concern for heavy app users. Battery stands for complete two days. Screen Quality is good. Response time is really good. Little heavy because of the battery. Dual SIM works great. Works good with international SIM's... Camera is not at it's best but good.

  • Folks download WhatsApp apk file online if u can't through app store

  • phone works just fine, video quiallity is amazing and photo camera too, amazing screen view, softh touch screen( very sensitive) the only two concerns is that when I place a 8gb micro sd phone overheats in some ocations and the facktory charger that cames with the phone is cra#$%#&

  • My BLU Studio Energy has never reset itself. This is likely just a manufacturer defect that only applied to a small percentage of phones, apps glitching, or internal damage from rough usage.

  • DON'T BUY THIS PHONE! Mine randomly reboots, sometimes while I'm using it and sometimes when its just sitting on the table. It only sends about half of my text messages and sometimes when trying to call someone the microphone doesn't work and the person on the other end can't hear me. This phone has caused me so much frustration and is completely unreliable. The same can be said about BLU's "customer service"

  • Obviously it has a 5000Mah battery

  • It has android, you can download whatsapp, you can search it in google play, or enter in and download the apk.

  • true,wasap can't be downloaded,but battery life is great.

  • I have this phone and whatsapp works with no problems on it,and using WiFi approx.5 hrs.browsing on web, battery goes from 100% to about 60℅,which I think is good compared to other phones and still can go for longer.everything else works great.

  • I bought this phone a few weeks ago for its battery life. The battery life is not as good as it says. Worse off, I could not download wasap on this phone because as Blu support team advised, this phone does not support wasap software! What? In this day and age? Better indicate that on the promos.

  • Currently if there is more than 32GB free on 64BG SD Cards some write actions fail. It can also cause 'insufficient space errors' while installing apps via Google Play Store, due to the write errors. The solution, so far, has been to add 32GB+ of data via PC, to fill some of the space (but even then TiBu can't backup apps). It's a silly issue, and only a 90% fix, but hopefully BLU fixes the issue someday with an update.

  • Amazon

  • agree with all stated here and the rear camera is just as good as my samsung grand prime, the front camera is very good too, calls are clear with no problems,3g data good, wifi good, gps quick.the phone is very good in my view,it also has a magnetometer and the screen viewing angles are very good too.no complaints, satisfied.

  • I was attracted by the long last performance of the battery, of course, then also the price and double sim is interested issue. Unfortunately the battery with normal utilization as email, reading news and some whatsapp cannot go for more the one working day and few hours in the following morning and I do not watch movies or social network at all. The following day before noon battery is at 20% and you must charge it again . Moreover it is a very heavy phone; the keys are very sensitive; the wifi is not supported properly, disappear and come back. I am not happy at all. I tried to get in touch with Blu assistance to buy a new battery, I am in Italy, but they still insist to send them the phone with a prepaid return shipment. It's not worth it. I gave to my 10 yrs son to play with.

  • Please can u guys do a battery endurance test only we all know that it's slow

  • rusty, if you enter the system manager app then click on traffic monitor>traffic Rank is your usage or traffic monitor>network control you can disable app data

  • Agreed

  • Wasn't it Napoleon that said the above quote?

  • I got the Blu Studio Energy less than a week now, and really enjoying it. Is anyone aware of how to see the Data Management or how to do App Data Restriction on the device? I can't seem to find it in the Settings. Thanks, Rusty

  • While I am not a fan of Joseph Stalin, he was correct when he stated that quantity has a quality all its own. The quantity in question here is energy. Thanks to the enormous battery, this is the first phone I have owned where power is never an issue. Its great being to be able to just use the phone as much as I like without having to worry about the battery dying on me. That alone makes the Blu Studio Energy well worth it.

  • For The BLU Studio Energy-2 {2016} model ..... The specs should be Snapdragon 410 CPU, 2GB's RAM, 16 GB's ROM ... Gorilla Glass 3....13MP Front Camera .... 5MP Selfie and with the 5000MAH Battery ..... If BLU makes this ... I'm Buying.

  • It's just like Gionee Marathon M3

  • similar to condor c6 pro in algeria

  • What?

  • Wonder when it will be available in Europe?

  • Try with class 10 SD card and it may work. It work for me

  • How much S4 today vs Blu? simple answer to without sense comparison!

  • apparently not. i am disappointed

  • I have the solution to your problem, you just go to settings, smart gestures, disable and enable smart gestures, and is already solved the problem:-)

  • The only smartphone justified for being 5.0 Inches: the battery life! If something is going to be big, it better have something big inside of it that takes advantage of the space. Looking at you Apple/Samsung/Google/etc. >_> (Except Sony with the Z4 compact, a is phone that seems ok with the specs and size.)

  • Can someone please help me. My studio energy won't wake up whenever I double tap the screen to wake up. How do I get it to do that?.

  • Can anyone please help me. Whenever I double tap my studio energy the screen doesn't wake up. Please can anyone assist me? I don't know what is wrong the phone never been used before.

  • Phone probably in power saver mode. Go to Settings, Battery, un-check Power Saver and blue-tooth will stay on. Had this "problem" with blue-tooth speaker.

  • it cannot be fixed never by by blu aain

  • After formatting a new 64GB SD card on my brand new Studio Energy, and setting my app install location to "removable SD card" I get an error every time that says there is not enough space. I can't install any apps on it. How do get that fixed? I'd like to resolve this quickly so I don't have to send the phone back to Amazon.

  • Anyone else having issues with reboots? I tap the power button at times to put the phone to sleep and the power down options come up. When I hit the back or home button to cancel, the phone reboots after a few seconds. I've been putting off a factory reset because besides that one bug, the phone is absolutely sufficient for my needs.

  • It's great if anyone here compare BLU Studio Energy to Phillips W6610!

  • I have had this phone about a week. Based on lukewarm reviews I did not expect much so I was pleasantly surprised when it turned out to match or exceed my Google Nexus (Samsung III) in most respects. I guess reviewers compare it to an $800 I-Phone which is understandable. Since I ruined the full size SIM from the Nexus trying to trim it to micro size I did not have phone service until Yesterday when I went out and got a new SIM and a new no contract plan. The call quality is excellent so far. I have not used any phone network data yet so I cannot comment on that but the phone works with WiFi very well. I purchased this phone because I wanted BT 4.0 LE to pair with an "Activity Wrist Band" and this was the most economical option I could discover. I also liked the idea of the huge battery as I go on extended bike rides running a bicycle GPS app. The battery life is excellent (so far). I went for a 2 1/2 hour ride with the app running (screen off) and the battery dropped by only 5%. Hard to beat! The same ride would take 30-40% of my Nexus battery. Sadly the only issue I have encountered is with the connection of my modestly priced activity tracker to its phone app. It is a bit ironic since this feature is what I bought the phone to get. I have no way to determine if the problem is with the phone, the tracker or the app but it is frustrating. The tracker seems to disconnect from the app after a period of inactivity which makes sense. Often I can swipe the notifications bar down, switch to settings, touch the BT icon then when the BT switches off return to the app and answer "Yes" to its request to turn on BT and it is all good to go. The problem comes when periodically and all too often the BT gets balled up so it will not switch off. After touching the BT icon in either the quick settings menu or the full BT settings menu the wheel rotates awhile than comes back to the "On" state and the app will not even look for the band. Recycling the app does not help. The only out is to reboot the phone. All in all given that the price of the Blu Energy is about 40% of the Nexus phone I am very pleased even given the BT issue. I am optimistic about finding a solution for the BT problem.

  • Y the bottom keys don't light up . The menu 'the back arrow an the home it don't light up ?

  • I got my studio energy 4 days ago.. Performance is sufficient for a light user.. But, if you want to install many apps or play games, this is not the phone for you. Low performance is as expected as it's 1.3GHz processor with 1 GB RAM and many apps designed currently is for higher performer phones. But it's smooth for casual user Regarding battery life, I charged it 3days 10 hours back to 100%. Now battery is still 29%. (Confession: I use my phone always in power saving mode. If you dont power save, it might come for little less than 2 days) I dont used lots of cellular data. I just use wifi and social apps. Interface is awesome. It's new and smooth experience except there's slight lag while typing. I don't mind that. Rest of the experience is smooth and colorful.. It's an ideal phone for someone who uses phone just for calls, social apps, web and utilities like alarms, reminders and notes.

  • Well got my BLU Energy 3 days ago and like it a lot. Build quality seems very good. Really like the plastic case they send along with it. It has a nice textured feeling and gives you a great grip on the phone. It should also provide quite a bit of protection if it falls. 720p screen display is really excellent. Clear and bright colors. I will admit this phone is heavier than my other phone but batteries weight a lot and I carry my phone in a pants pocket so it really doesn't matter to me. Biggest + so far is the VOLUME. I can hear this phone without jamming it against my ear and the volume is only set on about 75%. First cell phone I can say I can hear really well. And the ringing volume can be heard from the other end of my 1700 sq.ft. home. Have been playing with it all day today from about 7am to 8:30 pm and still have 75% battery left. Amazing. My old Samsung would have needed a charge about lunch time LOL. That's why I bought this phone. I refused to buy into the daily charging routine. SIM card is not here yet but will be soon. Then I can test voice quality over cell service. So far I have just used Google Voice, my VOIP provider service and wifi calling and it sounds very good. A few pleasant surprises not even advertized come with the phone. One is HotKnot. Tap another phone to transfer data. Another is Smart gestures. You can go directly to your camera, Google or phone from the lock screen using gestures like a BIG "C" for camera. Another nice feature are the various methods of unlocking the phone including "double tapping" to wake the phone. And of course there is support for "air or cloud printing". Both GPS and WiFi signals seems quite strong. GPS lock on quickly even sitting INSIDE my home. Turning out to be one of the best $149.00 I've spent at Amazon.

  • Compare to a Blu Studio 5.0c Hd

  • cab wait to buy this baby, looking forvard to 5000 mah battery.People say that it s too heavy ,but how mutch exacely? And whitch phone can you compare with this?

  • whitch phone can you compare with blu studio energy?

  • i can t wait to buy this baby,i m looking forward to 5000 mah battery.People say that it s too heavy, but how mutch really weights?

  • Mr. as can compare a s4 with this phone than 150 dollars?

  • I am comparing this with an AT&T Samsung S4 running the latest AT&T kitkat rom (almost 2 years old). I would have expected this to perform better. Running the Quadrant Benchmark app, this phone gave a score of 6975 vs the 11338 (S4) = 61% of the performance of a 2 year old phone. the Antutu benchmark came in at 18537 vs. 28451 (s4) = 65% of the performance of the S4 I ran a speedtest.net benchmark using the same sim card and geographical location on the app the Blu phone got 8.5Mb at best (avg about 5Mb) where as the S4 was pulling 37Mb data speeds. I'm not sure why this data is hard to come by on the web, but here it is. It is by no means a replacement for an aging S4 even with it's technology over 2 years old. Finding a used S4 might be a better choice in this instance, since the S6 is due soon and those used S4's will be more readily available. Again the battery is a big plus, but if you want performance, be advised. ************* Comparing this to my son's Samsung S3, the benchmarks are nearly identical with the Blu Energy barely winning. The Data speed however was 27Mb download on the S3. This Phone's benchmarks compare more with a Samsung s3 (dual core) rather then the S4 (quad core).

  • Just bought this and I cant wait... only problem I have found is lack of cases.. can anyone help? None I like on Amazon

  • My husband and I bought 2 of these about 5 days ago and we like em. The battery last about 2 days depending on how much you use it. The phone is a little slow and its heavy but other than that we haven't had any problems.

  • blu studio energy 5000 battery and lumia 1030 50mp camera the best.

  • To bad it has 8GB internal

  • It is live on Amazon now, @149.00$. I'm wanting to buy it but I'd wait a few weeks to see how it goes.

  • where can i get this phone?

  • may Ihave windows8 on my blu studio

  • Now this looks like the phone I'd like to buy. Battery has always been the weakest point of BLU smartphones. Let's watch the reviews once it's out.

  • Awesome battery!!!

  • Very compelling. I'm only concerned with how the powerful the processor is vs how much battery saving it actually does. If this thing had a Snapdragon 400 in it with LTE and 16 GB of memory OMG I would be swooning right now. I'd be punching everyone in the face who knocked BLU. But in this current configuration it's only sort of interesting.

  • Nice but can't find OTG anywhere.
