Garmin-Asus nuvifone G60 - User Reviews

  • I have a battery

  • Download DivX player, no problems

  • this is the best cellphone that I have used the only comment I have its Battery 361-0039-00 is out of stock however I understand that there is a compatable replacement 361-0039-01 is this a true replacenent and if so is any in stock at this time. I am no interested in used batteries but only new ones. Thank you.

  • I like it so much but the only problem that I have with it the is no video player, and games

  • i need a g60 battery

  • The problem with the phone is we can't download & play vedio

  • I am using this phone for the past 1-1/2 years. It's a very good phone with good mp3 player, GPS, & excellent communication features.

  • Many people says that this unit is not that good. i beg to differ. after still using it for the pass 3 years. A though came to me whether does this unit work as a car GPS with the power cord connected without having its battery place in it. My answer is: YES!!!. you'll be surprise that you can still use your G60 as a standalone GPS in your car even after the battery is no longer useable. I'm not too sure about the other Garmin-Asus phones. Whoever owns the other models, you can try it yourself. KUDOS. next to this knowledge, i know huawei s7 slim can be use with the power cord connected and the battery taken out.

  • once got to know U ,i really love U, my A 10

  • browser is slow and phone is very complicated.i cant use it well

  • Excellent machine. But battery life is little.

  • nice

  • Good

  • when u use bluetooth and talk phone will be overheating and without bluetooth talking same thing happen...

  • nice

  • it's a great phone bottom line , and with all the apps you can get to improve it it's amazing although 700$ is expensive it's definitly worth it.

  • HI, The Price can not be determine.. But the PriceIndia quotes nearby 12-15K. (Not bad) I have one to sell, gifted by my Uncle, Tell me What you would like to Quote?

  • What is the Indian Price of this mobile??

  • HI rahul dhar, before i buy, can u tell more about this GPS device in india. i mean 1) do u need any yearly subscription or is it lifetime free as Map my india? 2) and does it give voice naviagation? 3) i hope these maps doesn't require GPRS connection. thanks

  • The GPS application is superb ! Linus is stable and does not hang. In car GPS utilisation is quite economical compared to costly GPS devices available in Indian market.

  • Is it posible to change OS linux to Android?

  • Had this phone for close to half a year now. Still loving it. Perfect all in one device if you need a good GPS that also makes phone calls, send messages and check news feeds or the weather. It comes with a decent calender as well.

  • how to make this phone speaker louder ?? i'm also was a handphone seller but customer complain it speakers voice too low, ever can hear ppl talk to him...

  • this phone is not available for MMS

  • im a handphone dealer..i want to ask something how to avtivate celcom mms...???? please reply asap...as soon as possible... customer complaint how to use it.. i also do know how to actvate..

  • after one day on the phone, i like it. it syncs with windows media player nicely. the qwerty keyboard works really well, even with a bass players fingers. texting is great, i like seeing the whole thread. i would like to know how to run FLASH content from the web now.

  • Which one most people use to navigate when they lost , i'm very confuse to choose three of them but i think it depend on the phone ; FIRST: I use the garmin software in nokia E90 so nice ,perfect & fast to get signal but when i use it at samsung innov8 very late response to get signal GPS must wait till 10 minute SECOND: I use google map its better when i use ZTE Xiang to get gps signal like Nokia E90 The Question Please help me ;i want to ask to All people who already use ovi maps in Nokia ; ovi maps is good & simple to use ; if we use it in Nokia N97 ; very fast to get signal GPS cause i like the phone which have the navigation software ; Thanks for the answer

  • This phone doenst play movie files?

  • verry good phone especially the built in gps like the normal garmin for you're car much better than the other gps software for smartphone's like tomtom for htc this gps is completly FREE the phone does not have much feature's like htc but what would you do with all those things you only use email sms photo and mp3 wifi internet and that's great on this phone and for only 299 is much cheaper than i phone and htc and you get full gps in return

  • This phone is killed by the ultra cheap Nokia 5230 with free voice navigation. The only thing going for this over Nokia 5230 is 3 MP auto focus camera, Wi-Fi, and 0.3" large screen. Nokia by the way has a more versatile or should I say a SMARTER OS, better screen, has video recording (which by the way G60 doesn't), wider software support etc ... e.t..c...

  • I checked this phone in mumbai, i like the phone as its got a large screen but lacks in features. the sound output is very poor, but music sounds nice in headphones. got good connectivity features, GPS , wifi is good, UI is also very nice and big, wish there were more features like radio, capacitive screen etc... worst part is it takes a long time to start...

  • Limited 'Call Records', pretty unacceptable for a good volume of internal memory in phone. Games? Non in phone. (Unless you pay for the EXTRAS in Garmin's site. Or maybe not in Singapore.) A nice phone but still lagging behind with features. Yes, it is a GPS unit based phone but what is stopping GARMIN and Asus from making it even better? Car kit's arm is very short... Updating the firmware will wipe out all your data in calendar, sms and even contacts (thank God that contacts could be imported but the rest are all gone).

  • Not being released on the Uk market according to an email to myself from Garmin. ah well such is life, guess my money will go somewhere else then!!! Garmin did say to watch for a "new release"???? in 2010 but no indication as to what it might be....

  • If you live in the UK and are waiting for the Garmin Nuvifone G60 to be released then you are going to be disappointed. I have an email from Garmin themselves telling me they will not release this product onto the UK market, but rather cryptically telling me to "watch out for new releases in 2010". I'm a bit miffed about this as I've been putting off getting a new phone on the strength of some of the things it does. It's nice that a major manufacturer like Garmin chooses to keep people so well informed dont you think!!. well sod em theres plenty of other makers out there who can and will deliver something worthwhile. I was intent on buying in bulk for a courier company but now i guess I wont!!

  • Its user interface hangs, slow response. The Web browser is miserable, you cant really use your fingers to scroll the page and it freezes the screen. I did not buy it but played with it in an AT&T store. iPhone has the screen based on other technology, it is a capacitive screen and it is better at taking commands, smoother screen scroll and precision at touch with your fingers. Just check iPhone before buying this one.

  • this g60 phone is verry good .this is a next genaration phone.

  • is it possible to install adobe flash player to the garmin g60 nuvi phone?

  • I see. Its a phone for a person who has a lot of money and gets lost a lot :)

  • This phone has the great LBS features & Navigation accuracy built-in which usually I use while travelling, as I can easily find out any thing from banking to food to any hangouts, so its cool..... Only disadvantage I felt is there is no vedio player and memory extension... so ok...No probs while getting all the best feature of navigation and LBS...

  • This is a great little phone. It is fast and responsive, easy to navigate, and the cradle with built in charger is briliant. It comes with a first class full feature Garmin GPS navigation tool in a smartphone! It was a little pricey at first but I noticed that AT&T has brought the bundle price down and that'a a good thing :p

  • Is there anything special about this phone?

  • 690 euro? wtf? i can rent a setellite with that money. damn!

  • How install flash player? r install any other web browser. thanks

  • test

  • nice phone

  • where from you buy this phone & what is cost of that.i still waiting it not launch in india.

  • wtf this phone is $799 on ebay how can you all afford this i have to work for 2-3 wks to get this phone

  • Hi guys...I just bought this phone. Anyone has idea how to download games and applications? Also is it possible for install fm in it?

  • This is gps centric phone. Nowadays there are so many types of functions, one has to choose what is most important to u .If LBS and GPS is not so important to u, then u shldn't buy this phone. But for me, I am waiting to buy a gps unit and this fits in nicely without having another device to keep/handle. And it so convenient to take it out of the car (theft),use it as a phone and plug it in when u are back in the car. If music, radio, pictures etc is important , then choose other phones. There are so many to choose from.If budget is not a constraint go for the IPhone3gs but unfortunately for most of us, it is. If the nuvifone can be a bit cheaper , it would be fantastic.

  • as g60 is a gps oriented smartphone, i find that opening an application is really smooth. changing of landscape to portrait mode is really smooth if we compare with those pda phones running on wm and android. sms is still threaded and u can even change the whole operating system to chinese since it is linux based. for those who used wm before, you are able to transfer your contacts and calendars info, you can sync the phone to Outlook using the nuviphone sync agent (cd provided in the package).

  • when it will be launch if its a linux can it be possiable to sync with windows xp,only the one feature is less no video player, can its possiable to use third praty video player.

  • Finally... from the Garmin-Asus website... "Garmin-Asus nvifone G60 will go on sale in Taiwan on July 27"

  • In regards to no MP4 support. The phone is Linux based and if it is open then getting a compatible app fro MP4 will be as easy as finding a corrupt politician. I currently have an Xperia X1 and that will be replaced with this once the contract has run out.

  • Are you from

  • when i first saw this... it juz looked like a garmin:) but its diff! its GARMIN+PHONE:) that's good enough for me! a phone and garmin=2in1:) knot wait to get my hands on this!:)

  • Dear Hi-Tek .... this gadget wasn't built for features. It was built for GPS functions. As the article in the NEWS says, THE FIRST GPS ORIENTED SMARTPHONE ...... And probablly the specifications aren't updated 100% ...

  • Nuviphone what a phone !

  • @Mike Linux does bring in a little complexities... But none that cannot be solved by a little google...

  • @Hitek, Have you ever tried any brand other than Nokia...

  • nice looking phone but i think the it will be better if they also include the format MP4 to the phone.

  • Hi-Tek , After all this is a GPS purposed Device, with ather extras like WIFI and phoning...The easiness of using GPS has never been more convenient with other device. It's a GARMIN ! :)

  • It looks good but falls short on features for me...no video recording, no flash for the camera, no fm radio, and no stereo speakers...no go for me. these are features that made nokia #1 in the world.

  • how about hotmail's does that support it and how many mail accounts can we have with this phone? and how is the push mail is it like the iphone or like the blackberry??

  • gsmarena, you haven't said anything about it's gps in the presentation, not in the review:D

  • Now my sarching over Nuvifone G60 Is My 1st Complitable Fully Loded PDA....

  • os linux make it secure, compare with wm and symbians os.

  • this is a great phone... cant wait till it comes out surely it will replace my iphone

  • perfect design

  • First 4gb's of internal plus memory card and tri-band 3g, this phone could pass Looks ugly to me though
