Yes it does recharge the battery but doesn't switch on. i wanna know if the lovely device of mine that I almost used for everything is repairable or I must just let it go? *really missing it so much*

  • I am using gSmart i128 from last 6 months. Although it may not prove prove the BEST phone in its range, but I would still like to say that is is worth spending money. I am happy with gSmart i128.

  • i need your help, i can't seem to put some stuff in the memory card of my gsmart-1 128, i do not know how to go about it, i have tried

  • How to overcome the problem of automatic shut down of the instrument?

  • If you need it, I have a spare battery for Gsmart i128. But u have to pay Rs. 750/- then i'll also send u all the software via email too. :)

  • For me This is a no problem phone. hehehe

  • HATE. HATE. HATE this phone. Had it for 2 years and the amount of frustration I've had with this hardware is incalculable... 4mb of onboard memory available, stylus scratches easily, slow, unresponsive, shuts off on its own, freezes when I get sms's, calls or connect to Windows Sync Center, and lo and behold, today, after it shut itself down again, it RESET itself, deleted ALL contacts, all my archived sms's all settings, all programs. Would not recommend this at all.

  • I bought this phone from Bombay Mall and I am happy with the performance. Overall this phone is value for money. Dont expect it to give a performance like iPhone but absolutely bang for the buck and better than all other low end windows devices and much cheaper.

  • I bought this piece last friday, not it look very cool and when I find the phone is useless, Its having battery problem, after 1hrs it showing battery is week....I request all the peoples who are buyinh this phone..should take care and buy.................if u cant then its up to u..............

  • After using the phone for over 10 months I can say that it is a perfect phone and works excellent. Wonderful sound quality and all the features one would want in a mobile phone. Excellent if you want a cheap Windows Mobile Phone with wifi. ROM is also upgradeable.

  • You better update your firmware. Its very easy. You may find information on www.mybestpda.com

  • For spare battery you go to Ebay.in and search mobile accessories from there. For software like Spb Mobile shell, dictionaries etc. you may search from google, there are thousands of software to download. After you have downloaded the software u want, again search the internet for their serial keys etc. That's it. Not a big thing. HEHEHE

  • Hi dpsalo. Can you please email me software you downloaded. I have the orange phone. Where can I buy spare battery? Thank you

  • any d-link service center in india. [email protected]

  • I bought this item from Bombay Mall. I have no problem. Its working fine. I have installed many most popular third party software, they all working fine. This is a very very great phone, I ever have. Before I bought this phone, I used Sony Ericsson K750, k850 and Nokia N82. But I love Gsmart i128.

  • Very bad performing phone. Never working. Always faulty. Always in repairs. Terrible Design. Bought two. None of them work properly.

  • Recently i brought a New Gigabyte G smart i 128 from Ebay india. I use this phone only 3 months unfortunately after 3 months automatically my phone goes off and after that never goes on. So plz tell me the list of service centers in india for Gigabyte phone.

  • This phone was good for its time in 2007 but now 2009, many things have caught up.If you want tv, you can get a better phone for around 90$(most probaly a Nokia or SE clone with extensible antena). If you want the whole round experience, suggest an HTC instead. No this phone has no integrated antenas but the price was steep but competitive at the time. Now it goes for around 250$ to 300$.The HTc touch is 200mhz but you will not see difference.Yes this one has 400mhz processor but sensetivity is not that super. It has no touchflow like HTC.Tv function is Analog..this is slowly dying in the world and near non exisistant in North America. You can cheaper better phones with DVB capabilities now. When i had this phone, i had to reboot it a lot.i do not know if it was a defective device or if it was the whole line of the product. What i can say is that when i use to enter a lot of programs even with a big capacity card, the phone was underperfoming.Even with bare minimum it would glitch from time to time.Battery was an issue as well but you had two of them.Between the HTC touch and this one, i go for HTC.Never had any problems with HTC even if it is weaker in MHZ but it never shows. The Gygabyte Camera is pretty stale for 2 mpx..not quality at all.The pictures look like it came from a 0.3 mpx cam.

  • Is there any external TV antenna. I don't mean the headset.

  • The Best in all Phones : GigaByte The best In gigabyte : Gsmarti300 then i128 i have them both and they are ExElEnT ..:)

  • Tv works fine if you plug external antenna and even works with Cable TV and Didigt TV.If you want tv to work with anenna then you got to live close to a Tv transmitter

  • This is an awesome looking phone with awesome features. And yes indeed it is ahead of it's time. Mine is the beautiful orange/gold color. However the phone has a major problem with the batteries. My first battery died after just 2 months, the second lasted only 2 weeks, and neither of them will charge. The phone will only power on when it is plugged into the wall adapter plug. The battery signal shows it is charging the battery, then after a short time, it says it is charged. A minute later it will freeze, and stops operating, until you take the battery out, and start all over again. Very frustrating when i only brought it a few months ago new, and only used it for a little over 2 months. And now i can't use it at all. If anyone can help me out here, i would appreciate it. I can't find an authorised repairer in Australia. And the useless (ebay asian seller) i brought it through, only offered a 30 day warranty. I tried to ask him to help me out with the problem i had, as i only had it for a little over 2 months, but he pretty much gave me a bull shit story about the thirty day warranty speel, then i never heard back from them. Now i have a phone i can't get a replacement battery in australia for, and i can't find anyone to repair it. Great phone, but no much good to me if i can't use it. And i was very excited about getting this phone too. Now its just another brick, only it's vertually brand new.

  • I use this device for a year without major problem. 400Mhz CPU and 128 ROM provide decent operation but there's 256 ROM available. The touchscreen is not as responsive as HTC but I get used to it. The TV is OK, no TV out unfortunately and it's better to use the antenna instead of the headset which act as antenna also. Sound clarity is OK, but speaker is not stereo. Camera suprisingly is slightly better than Dopod (same MP) HTC software is not running in this PPC,but there are free sw in the net which can substitute the touch keypad, the larger contact even HTCTouchflo or iphone-alike:). I don't use YM but Skype is fine. In the box, they also give spare battery, stylus pen. Bottomline, it's a low price device with fair performance. No much thing to complain, except I broke the glass (yes, it's glass not plastic) which cover the camera, within 1 month purchased. You will too....

  • can anyboby pls let me know about installing yahoo messenger in it? will it work? will it support the yahoo messennger? and how about the internet connecting speed in it? thank you bye....

  • why this ppc dont have 192 MB rom like iteq x2 bond? whats the different between this and that?:D

  • does it support TV-out? any one know?? Thanks

  • no its not

  • can someone help me? is this phone a slider or not???

  • hey guys. to the ones that have it: i've read that with the headphones the tv signal is disgraceful. is it any better with the long external antenna plzzzzzzzzz answer. very important?

  • Can anybody tell me how to extend the picture for incoming calls

  • People saying bad things about this phone should consider that for around 600$ or less you are getting a portable unit with a pc tv and radio all in one.If you don't like it buy the stupid clithching N95 for 1000 euroes. This Phone is way better than that piece of junk. About the sound it is good but no super but if you want loud music buy a sound sytem not a phone. If you listen in head phones it is even better(mean for music)Tv reception is a bonus with a small antenna. If you have no antenna how will you get any reception.Even conventional Tvs need one. Why are you expecting to get reception without an antenna in you car far from a transmission tower and simm support.Again if you want Tv anywhere and all the time Pay the carrier $$$ monthly and get a N95.Battery has two.Who gives you two??? This phone is a marvel for the price it is on offer for and the size and the structure is so well designed that no one will know this baby can do so many things and it operates on Windows Mobile. Personally never had any probelms with it.Friends who have SYmbian OS are also cursing words.By the way you can plug tv cable into it and you will get a great looking portable tv.Scans over 300 channels.

  • my boyfriend wants one real bad. he says that it is very cool and worth his money instead of his buying me a nice outfit to wear to go out.

  • i don't understand how people are overating this phone. i have it right next to me. i live in the uk. the tv reception is disgraceful ok it's analogue but when i stick in the headphone i have to move the headphone wire about to get reception. if i'm lucky i'll get picture and have to hold still. while moving in the car any tv reception? hell no. the loudness of sound is definietly a huge let down. i also have a 02 xda mini/i-mate jam and i have not found a phone to beat it's loudness i mean when i put earphones in it the sound is superb and will even beat mp3 players etc. but this phone sound quality is extreamly dissapointing. i would of bought an update of i-mate jam if it had tv and wifi also gps built in. the battery life is disgusting the i-mate will run low after i had the mp3 on all day on full volume this phone can never challenge it on battery life. if it had really loud sound and great tv reception it would've of been a winner. it also does not have a phone pad. now i'm looking for apps to enhance like something to increase sound etc.

  • Does i128 support GPS? What is necessary to have a GPS working in it?? Thanks.. PS: Ive already seen the diference i120 and i128 and Ill go for i128. i120 seems to hava some "bugs" yet.

  • Hi ppl... Im a bit confused between Gigabyte i128 and HTC 3600. I made some comparison between those PDAs, even though I still dont know which of them Ill take. Another question, what the diference between Gigabyte i128 and i120? which is the latest one??

  • i bought this PDA 3 weeks ago. and my opinion about this phone is great.. but, i can't use gps facility on this PDA..can someone halp me? thanx alot

  • To get tv working it is easy.Just press the Tv icon and you should get the screen and then you get the options.Country stuff is not important.Plug your home antena in it and press scan and it will look for all the channels.Do note that all units come with Ntsc and Pal and Secam.About battery I would suggest you put it in auto shut down mode set to the minimum 1 minute and you will see you can get much more battery life out of it.Shut down bluetooth and other stuff that you do not use all the time.Gps works fine too. This phone is great if you know how to use it.

  • To: Von - where you came from? I bought my unit yesterday here in Saudi Arabia and still fixing its TV capability but until now I can't get any TV channels. Under "Region" option, there's Middle East and Saudi Arabia. I choose Saudi Arabia and search for a channel but nothing happened and I did the same thing selecting Middle East option. Can you help me with this or anybody out there how to tune-in the TV program? Thanks for your help.

  • i wrote a good review for this phone and you can read it below but i think all in all if you comapre price and what you are getting given no one is even offering tv option+radio+ 2mpx cam+Gps+wifi in a comapct windows mobile phone like gigabyte is then this product does not have any competitors yet.Go for it.

  • can anyone tell me(i wonder) whats differen between g-smart i128 and g-smart i120, 120 seem better.. thanks

  • Dear Mobile enthusiasts. i'm considering to bye one of these bad boys. but i don't know about it's quality (voice, camera, music, signal recieption and specialy TV quality) and durability (Material). would you please give me some reliable information regarding these issues? (the ones who had or have the phone) Thanks in advance I appreciate very much

  • i buy this unit iteq x bond a.k.a. gigabyte G smart i128 last 2 days.and i have a problem with the baterry it drained fast.and icant find the mac addres in the unit, which is nneded for me to connect in our office wifi.can somebody help me with this, email me plis....

  • I WISH I HAVE IT!!...(since last year) ani way guys.. i heard my friend(he saw it) that sim lim square sell it at about sgd$900 wor..

  • Stories: well since i got this phone it is barely in my hands. All friends are taking it to try stuff on it.I actally am hiding the phone these days.Bad news is that some 50 people manage to use it and now they are all going for Gigabyte.Like i said you can't beat this phones price and funtionality given that is even surpassing anything sold today.

  • more review & stories about this phone pls....

  • Well i travel by train allot thesedays and i have my phone with me.In a 7 hour trip i watch 3 movies and make a few calls and surf a little and still 50% of battery is left when i step off.Tv option is great but with an antenna(any will do). Also will depend how far you are from an emission center.Actually people on the train thought it was a new nokia phone or something. The tv option just bring people around.Even At home i just plug my usual cable tv to it and the picture is great.I can even plug dvd to it and watch. I bought my unit in Dubai on my last trip.I hesitated at first but it was a risk i was glad i took.It is the only phone i bought and when i look around i do not see anything else coming close to it for another 2 years at least.I suggest you go for the black version of the 128.It is cooler. Reminds me of the Nokia 3250 and the N80 screen.People who complain about this phone are just sobs who just like Nokia or SE.You should ask yourself the question if you still question price wise.No doubt you are thinking of going after the latest nokia or Se .Compare the features and price and then think that these phones have symbian(crap)and then think this has window mobile.About battery sorry i forgot ,you get two of them so when one is being charged you can use the other one and i found out you can charge the battery when it is connected to the usb pc port. How about that!i downloaded the touch pad program and now i can draw things.Worth every penny

  • NICE COMMENT AVINASH... anyway, i have a question, where did you buy your unit, seems to me a lot of people is complaining about the battery life... and also, i just wanna ask if you travel a lot is the tv still working watever country you're in? thanks in advance coz i'm really interested with this phone...

  • whats the difference between this one (128), and the other G-Smart i???

  • I just bought this phone 3 days ago and i am extatic about it .I read all the draw backs it might be having but i suggest if you plan to buy one to hold it in your hand and then you will be able to see how worthy it is for the price it is being sold.Nokia and SE do not come even close with their Symbia C**p system.Especially when you see the Gigabyte gsmart128 ALL BLACK color it is to die for. They say screen is small for a pocket pc but there is an option where you can turn it so that things get shown digonally(i remember Nokia N95 is adopting this system for movie shows). For me the size is more than good.It is no smaller than any other smart phone screen out there.Makes it look like a phone that fits in your poket rather than a big screen thing that eats up all your battery. The second flaw mentioned was battery life.Well they give you two of them. One small and the other double density.I can say i am working with the small one and it gives me about a day and the DD gives you 2 days and some. While one is charging use the other.good option for backup and travel.I use the Phone normally about 3 to 4 hours per day and take some 5 to 7 calls.Another point is the sound quality which some have bashed.i got to say it is pretty loud.i 'd like to remind those who say so to remember that the quality of music you put into it also matters. If you put something at 64 bits and something 192 you will see the great difference. So People i'd say in one word Screen is great, battery is more than adequate and sound is better than good. Now mind you this was the so called flaws. This thing has the tv option which works fine with any antenna and the autoshutdown option allows you to save considerable battery life and still take incoming calls when you get them. It's got Wifi. There is one other thing i like about it is that you play videos full screen and watch tv too without downloading any other programs. The sensetivity of the touch pad is super.I'd say Nokia and SE can go F**k themselves for charching exorbitant prices for their new models that freeze all the time and crash where as this one does not even hang with a 2 GB card filled with progs.Seriously the only thing some people have complained about this phone is that is has everything and with man's nature, this phone has pushed people to sell just because they got fed up with it. If you want something that will last for the next 3 to 4 years and are tired of constantly changing phones for a better than resonable price then no hesitation whatsoever.Go for it.I know you like the nokia name or the SE name for prestige but Gigabyte has been making Pc for the last 25 years so the are not new at this.Nokia can keep all it future crap line for all they are worth even the N 95 that is for people who just want to spend 1000 euros for nothing.

  • Amazing...with TV in it. The battery can be control by auto shudown if not in use. Can last for one whole day.

  • off all the ppc phones, i'd say this is the smallest one that i could find and like. axia a108 is very nice, but too thick. i wish they make numeric buttons like axia...oh well. the phone nav keys are hard to use. it start up very slow. it took like five min. wi-fi gone after a soft reset. couldn't get it back even with the firmware upgrade or restore to factory settting.

  • I got a first peak at the i-phone and then put my hand on this gigabyte and i'd say no contest here.been looking around no one has the tv option yet.I like it because it is very functional and is truely something you can take with you and use anywhere.

  • You know what.i bought this phone and i got to say WOW!!! It's not 3 g but it has everything else i need.since i got it i don't even use my notebook anymore.Think of this phone as the smallest notebook around and then some cause it's got a tv too.If i was Gigabyte i'd advertise this thing a bit more and then see how f**k overpriced Nokia and Samsung lose the market in an instant

  • In Russia they are selling it for 650 $ to 700$

  • Was going for the Nokia N80 when the seller told me why do you want to get that piece of S**t.I told well i need something good and functional and then he told me you going for the wrong stuff and then he showed me this piece of work which i got to admit is far superior in every way.I travel allot and like watching movies and i love it Tv option is simply unparalled. No one has phones coming out with tv for the next 2 years at least .Not even the new I phone from apple.I'd say if you want something really good don't buy nokia or samsung or anything else.By this thing.Imagine something truely with every useable commodity you can have and in the palm of your hand.

  • I bought this phone in Bangkok but now the WiFi is not working in the USA. I also lost the Thai Keyboard with the spelling. If anyone know what to do to fix them let me know please.

  • i bought this phone from dubai it is very nice phone except the battries they do not stand for long time even if you are not using it maximum 5 hours.
