Google Pixel 2 XL - User Reviews

  • Comparing the cameras on the 2XL and the 3a XL which one has the better setup in terms of better low light photos, faster autofocus, better image stabilisation, better audio recording in video, a much wider front & back cameras and overall better camera speed? Is the 2 XL a better choice/investment than the 3a XL?

  • Man aside from the heaphone jack this really was the last good pixel.

  • Fantastic phone 2 years running and still have all the latest features. Battery is fantastic too. I have read some comments complaing about the camera but i think those are defective units as this camera is second to only a few.

  • I'm using this phone in October 2019. It's a mixed bag. I don't understand why it's camera specs have been so highly regarded. I used LG V20 and Oppo Find X before this one, camera versatility is nowhere near any of them. Almost every phone in late 2018 and 2019 came with wide or ultra wide dedicated cameras. The fact that this one doesn't have it, even rumored Pixel 4 doesn't show wide camera module, is a bummer. When it comes to Pixel phones, first thing people talk about is the software updates being so timely. True. If you are not buying new phones every 6 months, chances the phone you have getting a software update before Pixel phones is slim to none. And software updates are so overrated to begin with. Guys, there are still people and companies around who are using Windows 98, or 7... They are perfectly fine with it. Only thing I noticed in first glance for Android 10 update is little visual tweaks. Like expected battery run out, emergency option coming out when you want to reset or turn of your phone off. Not like miles of difference from Android 9. It's like you take a road trip with your Prius and you have 3 quarters of a tank fuel than full tank... It's not gonna make it break it. So my advice, if you're leaning towards Pixel phones of the past in October 2019, just don't...

  • Yes, the pixel 2XL is definitely still worth buying in 2019. You can watch this to have detailed reasons as to why it is.

  • I've had one for 18 months now, works a dream, I got it mainly to fly my DJI Phantom 4 Drone, no complaints at all, excellent camera too.

  • front cam photos yellowish on my pixel in homelighting

  • is pixel 2xl still worth it in 2019?

  • I agree that the upgrades are just incremental improvements.

  • Hi. Is it true that the 3 XL has better sounding speakers And have better audio recording than the 2XL? Or are the improvements of the XL very incremental that it is barely noticeable? Or the 3 XL is a better investment?

  • Hi, If you are in USA, try Libratone Q-Adapt USB-C earphones made specifically for google. I am posting the link below:

  • Probably a good idea.

  • Try Factory Reset, otherwise your hardware seems show aging problem due to heat.

  • My Pixel 2 xl is slowing down and it can't open apps fastly ...it gets hang or frozen sometimes opening even low end games like Clash Royale and Subway Surfers plz help me

  • I love you!

  • I think Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will get updates until October 2021 or maybe 2022 with Android 11 / R.

  • i think the phone is really good,i want to buy to but i dont enough money wkwkwkwkwkwkkw

  • great phone i love it 5 stars

  • Wait till Pixel 4 comes out :)

  • Yes is the short answer. My phone updated to 10 this morning. (Sept 3)

  • Even faster than android one devices

  • Guys! It may sound silly, but is this phone will update like phones from Android One programm??? I know it is stock Android and it is made by Google, but still - i cann`t find any info that will prove this argument --> yes, it will update like phones from Android One lineup...

  • Which earphones will be supported by this devic?? My apple earphone with converter does not work..

  • The latest software update improved the camera performance even more... Now I can compare it with my Pixel 3XL and the 3a XL.. xD

  • I'll check it out

  • Phone is awesome. But after sales services is worst than any other.

  • I already use android 10 beta 6 in it, it's super smooth like iOS, I recommend testing it.

  • Till 2020 October pixel 2 & 2xl will get software updates from Google

  • More than likely. Google said two years of software updates and the pixel 2 turns two this year. And when they stop updating it you can easily unlock the bootloader and install a custom ROM.

  • Is Pixel 2XL going to receive Android 10??

  • Had my 2XL for about a year. Love it. Runs as smooth now as the first day I had it. Not a single issue with it. I just wish it was a little bigger. I just like a BIG phone. Looking for something new cuz my wife is about to retire her old V20 and she wants my 2XL. But having a hard time finding something I might like as much or more.

  • Work perfectly over a year but lately i has Good play service battery drain. sigh...

  • Fast boot, smart look, extremely good camera, the best choice for those not admiring Iphone

  • Amazing phone. My pixel 2 xl (9 month old) became soooooo buttery smooth from the past 3-4 days. Dunno if it's Google's AI, but I had just started watching Apple iPhone XS review videos. And all of a sudden, my pixel 2 xl starts behaving extra smoooth. Woww! I'm loving it ..

  • No, its normal. They called it trickle charge. Basically, when your battery reached 80-90%, you can unplug the charger. System will slow down the current to prevent overcharge. Explore Trickle Charge on Google you'll understand.

  • The ring volume sucks

  • Friend has Google Pixel 2 XL. It has problems when charging. When charging from say 90% to 100% the charging slows down and can take hours to get to 100%. I have contacted Google for him and they blame added apps on the phone for the phone taking longer to charge (even if the phone is turned off). Anyone else with these issues please. Thanks.

  • Same!

  • Please? Anyone had this problem before and fixed it?

  • Im waiting for the pixel 4 to come out so the price of this to further go down.😆

  • I know this is considered an older phone to some people, but I am very excited to get this phone soon! Great specs, and awesome price! ($269.99 on Amazon!)

  • My pixel 2 was going through the same problem, Opt out the beta 5 and degrade to stable pie, be sure that u have restored your data became it all will get wiped

  • Ok so down below I've commented on how happy I was with this device, until last night. Now when I plug in my phone to charge it, it turns off immediatelly. I don't know what's wrong with it but I can charge my phone when it's on. Other than that everything is working fine. Any had this issue before? If yes and if you fixed it. How?

  • "Beta"

  • Hi guys...I'm using Google pixel 2 xl with no issues until last week when I update my unit to Android Q beta 5 my video recording got no sound...just beep than mute...no sound at all...I tried with 3rd party camera app still with no success... Anybody encounter this issue?

  • It's not a broken, it's just full of bugs. Some app didn't optimized well for forced Dark Mode. It's basically just reversing colors to negative form. I'm also in Android Q Beta 5.

  • Actually, both the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3a use the same display technology, OLED. The 2 xl and 3a xl both have a 6 inch screen. However, the resolution is better on 2xl (2880*1440 vs 2160*1080). The ONLY thing I hate about the 2 is the lack of headphone jack. I've broken 4 of those stupid dongles. they both also have the same camera and RAM, and the CPU clock speed is slightly higher (better) on the 2XL

  • Ur right, the camera in this phone is still amazing for an old phone, super worth it bro

  • Thanks for your advice and rn im using it. Its an amazing phonr

  • If you like Android, assistant, the best camera on a smartphone and kinda unique phone, then Pixel 2 XL is a great phone. The only thing you should know before you buy it is the screen, Pixel 3A XL has a better screen than Pixel 2 XL but has poor quality hardware and a bit lower quality video and photo quality.

  • I'm using it right now. It's super cool. Just that you won't get features such as wireless charging or wide angle camera and 3.5mm jack (there are type-c headphones). If you don't care about those petty things then it's perfect.

  • Im going to buy pixel 2 xl next week, is this phone still awesome for 2019? I mean some comments are telling about the negative but i believe this phone is awesome

  • I have U11, cant speak for U12. But if im on ur shoes, Ill get pixel 2 xl simply because of the updates. U12 maybe is faster hardware wise, but pixel's camera should be better.

  • What do you mean you bent it in half? I have the pixel 2 XL just black 64 GB and after trying to bend mine it still works flawlessly. The only reason I would believe it bent in half was because you probably put too much pressure for the phone to handle and like any phone could do, it bent. Do t blame the phone for your mistake.

  • Google Pixel 2 XL or HTC U12+? Which is a better option than the two models?

  • I owned this phone for 10 mos and will continue paying for an other 14, but have replaced it with another phone. Here are my issues 1) Screen would black out and phone was totally unresponsive (no phone, no internet, nothing) Could get it back with up volume and reset button, but not consistently and took multiple tries. 2) Phone would hang up call when pulling it out of my pocket. 3) When cache begin to get too large, phone would not charge. 4) Android Auto for my car would not work after 2 months of operation (tried numerous fixes, but none would ultimately work). Really... Google can't get it's own phone to work with it's own app! Overall, I also found the phone relatively difficult to use... not intuitive. This really was the worst android smart phone I ever owned. I don't expect perfection, but I expect a usable, functioning product. I don't know about Pixel 3 and 4, but I would research those phones prior to laying out money or signing a contract.

  • Bro just want to check this google.pixel 2 xl is able to connect with anycast device..like samsung have smart view to connect to anycast so is that possible this google pixel is have something similar to samsung smart view..pls write let me no

  • Hi my name is Ajab. Have you guys noticed that most bad reviews or all bad reviews of this phone are anonymous? I'm not saying it is an all-perfect phone, that is just not possible in this world but it's the best of Android and the best camera, PERIOD! On that, everyone needs to agree, I have read and seen like a hundred articles, videos, comparisons and I have found this to be on the top everywhere, not a single article or video has said it to be second to the best. One more thing, Pixel 2 and 3 have the same camera and the same Visual Core chip

  • try Whitestone dome glass kinda expensive but after installing youll gonna love it...

  • I have an issue with this phone. I changed “Display size” to large, and the preview showed the 3 or 4 icons in one row. Then I went back to home screen, the icons are still 5 in a row. Do you guys have this issue?

  • My pixel 2 xl doesnt lag at all

  • Since yesterday's latest Android Q Beta update Override force-dark feature in the Developer Options is broken. A shame as not all apps use dark mode when it's enabled in Display. Other than that still very happy with the phone after 18 months of usage.

  • Shut up guys, stop lying about this phone. This phone it's super awesome and it never lags. It's so smooth and snappy lol. If a pure Android lags then what will you expect from other brands that put to many crappy apps? I've never had to complain about anything because this phone never let's me down, I've been using it hardcore for gaming like PubG and Mobile Legends and never faced any lag, the battery it still has a very good life and I don't know why people complain about Burn in thing too. I am using it a lot for gaming and movies and never had an issue like that.

  • I swear you are lying or Fanboys or something because I bought this pixel 2 XL off of Amazon for backup phone for my OnePlus6t and I'm using it and it sucks is the worst phone I've ever used as far as modern-day phones it is a piece of crap slow sluggish everything lag lag lag stop being Fanboys and realize it's piece of shit my OnePlus 5 is better than this phone. my wife uses my OnePlus 5 in the Philippines

  • Clean the sensor more frequently, that'll solve the issue since software wise, they have already make it less sensitive to dust.

  • When i call someone my phones display will black due to sensor, but not it dosnt work. Display always on even on call. How can i fix it?? I want when i talk with someone, my display will be black. Need reply of expart. Thanks in advance

  • Fantastic Phone, I've had Pixel XL, OnePlus 5 then the 5T now the Pixel 2 XL and it's so stable, brilliant camera, smooth Android and fast updates ... What more could you want !? Only one niggle, I can't find a decent screen protector ! It's driving me insane 🤪

  • You Should Go With The Pixel 2xl

  • Should i buy a samsung galaxy s8+ or pixel 2 xl. need opinion please advise Thanks

  • check this

  • go with pixel 2xl or wait for pixel 4, 2xl has better processor compare to 3a, plus 2xl price is dropping which is good buy

  • should i buy the pixel 2xl or the pixel 3a considering the update cycle that google has ?

  • can i go with pixel 2 xl on mid 2019,,because i heard that the updates will get from google till oct 2019.....please suggest..

  • Amazing phone!

  • Its great... Everything is awesome. Dont believe bad comments. Sadly there are some devices which might be faulty or behaving that way. Once there is a major upgrade, it its recommended we do a factory reset for better performance

  • Pixel 2 xl made lg

  • How is the RAM management

  • I like most things about this phone, however, there are numerous glitches with it. Right now my screen doesn't sleep when it's inactive. You can only imagine how frustrating that is when you wake up in the morning & your phone's almost dead. I also hate the small usb; I find it doesn't connect properly most if the time & wiggles loose when driving. I was extremely disappointed when I opened the box & there was no "normal" usb at the other end of the charger. Most people charge there phones in there vehicles, however, most vehicles do not have this usb connection in them. The other major problem is the headphone connector the give you either doesn't work or the connection in the phone doesn't work. I know most people use wireless so this won't affect them, but I don't have wireless and it's extremely inconvenient. There are numerous other glitches that have happened in the 15 months I've had it, most of them corrected themselves on the next update. That being said, the updates take to long to come out considering how many glitches there are. They should have an update daily to keep up with them. I reluctantly switched from the iPhone after being a user since the beginning, I'm still debating if I will get another one or go back to the iPhone. The iPhone was constantly reliable & never had any glitches.

  • The phone is amazing with blazing speed and good display.

  • The original pixel will probally get updates to 2020 its already got android q beta

  • Till October 2020

  • updates till october 2019 for pixel 2 and 2 xl

  • Agree with you 100% speakers are just cheap shit.

  • It’s google phone that runs Android google OS lol.

  • Seems dual SIM dual standby feature can be enabled in the android q beta 2 available for pixel 3.. has anyone tried it in pixel 2 / pixel 2xl and checked out the dual SIM (dual standby) feature..

  • no,this was released at time of ice age

  • Does this phone have Google Assistant?

  • I got the Pixel 2xl over the 3xl because: no notch, the screen is a non-issue. Pictures are great, night sight is crazy..I took pictures of the northern light the other day...nothing like my mirrorless camera, but it's the best camera I had at the moment, and don't know another smartphone that can do what the 2xl did...not my note 8 or huawei mate 10 pro, ...definitely not any iPhone. Battery is better than my iPhone and note 8.

  • I purchase my cell phones based on who has the best camera, and in the last year have used: Huawei Mate 10 pro, iPhone 8 plus, Google pixel xl, Samsung Note 8, and currently Pixel 2 xl. I can honestly say that, if you are looking for the best overall camera on a smartphone, the Pixel 2 xl is one of the best. I easily prefer it over the others for one reason...it takes better pictures on average. It may not take better pictures all of the time, but I would say easily 90% of the time or better, you will get a better quality picture. Sometimes slightly darker or less saturated photo, but post processing is easy, and the detail is just better...especially closer photos, portrait shots, and the night sight is amazing. I would say the Note 8 is a close second, followed by iPhone. The HDR on pixel 2 xl is easily the best.

  • Both is better

  • In my opinion you should go with the 2xl. Dont get me wrong the 3xl is still a great phone but the specifications of the 3xl are only slightly better than the 2xl. And for the price difference between the two, the 2xl seems like the wiser choice for now. However, it's unclear how long the 2xl will be supported with software updates as the rumoured pixel 4 will likely be dropping in fall of this year.

  • Hello guys, Is it worth to buy pixel 3 xl or should I buy pixel 2 xl? The price difference is big and I don't know if it matters. Thank you.

  • Google pixel 2xl sure you have to know pixel from htc

  • Does this phone support dual stand by (esim & nano sim) now, If not, can it be made possible by any software updates

  • pixlel

  • Exactly. If you buy this now there will be no blue shift. If its there it will be negligible. I love my Pixel 2 XL.

  • if what you doing is just point and shoot and looking for the best camera quality especially in low-light, take this phone. if you doing alot of videography and social media such as snapchat & insta stories, even iphone 7 is doing better than Pixel 2 XL and it's cheaper now, let alone iphone 8 plus. and yes I own both Pixel 3 XL (not this phone, but there's hardly any difference) for my main phone & iphone 7+ for the purposes I explain above.

  • I am really confused between pixel 2xl and I phone 8 plus....camera is my main concern...somebody plz provide me a genuine suggestion

  • i got the phone nearly a year no issues whatsover here..battery life is okish tho depends on the usage..its a nice really fast phone....if u want great camera, fast updates and clean android for the pixel....the samsung on the other hand is a fantastic phone screen is brilliant the camera really good and it has pro mode...well the ui depends on ur liking and for the updates...well patience....security updates r good but os ones waiting list as it seems...i had samsung for years but for me the pixel wins for the more straightforward approach and no themes no clean ram buttons just works straight away and the camera is brilliant even tho there is no pro mode...

  • okay so I just bought this phone like 2 days ago when I wrote this, and uhh I'm still new with this stock android things cause I was Iphone users since the 5, and I want to ask... why did whenever I kept on clicking the android version the P logo won't show up like in others android devices? is that normal? is that how it works for pure android?

  • The screen is not bad as people make you think. I've been using the pixel 2 xl for a month now and never seen the blue tint unless i tilt the device like 90 degrees.

  • so is this phone still worth buying in 2019? is the screen gonna be ok since Pixel 2 XL got some serious issue with it. or should I get the S9+ instead?

  • Forget about htc. It's dying my dear.

  • Pixel 2 xl or htc u12 plus?

  • Did good I had 6t but in bright sun you cannot see anything now happy with pixel screen with no problem

  • My Pixel 2XL was good for about 10 months. Now it jams up. The response has become slow between apps and Google shuts down. I have reset it and cleaned it out and still jams up. I will not get another one. I am dissappointed

  • This phone is really god in fact. But I have some terrible experience l. First about software : gesture based navigation isn't as good as iphone x, neither not good as xiaomi implementation. I can't simple swipe down from center area to expand notification. Second, about hardware side : I already gave up searching best usb type c handsfree & jack audio adapter, the original one come from the box can't use for telephony. Google trying to follow apple in suck way. Better they back to nexus philosophy. Pixel is not all rounder phone like galaxy s9.

  • Guys, im from indonesia in southeast asia and i want to buy pixel 2xl but in here its not officially launch, if i bought pixel 2 xl and its broken, its must be hard to repair. Should i buy pixel 2 xl or s8 plus guys? Pixel 2xl camera is still beast right?

  • Pixel 2 XL is almost unbendable. Will you please stop by this trash talk.

  • You're right. Google should've used Samsung OLED panel just like in regular Pixel 2. Btw, it still has one of the best camera on the market.

  • Completely Agree. Its a Fantastic phone. Great camera. Peoples and You tube experts are making unnecessary hype about the blue tint. its not affecting day to day performance and after some time you will forgot about this. Go and grab it Way better than I phone and Samsung.

  • Neither... Galaxy phones are filled with Bloatware. Pixel 2 XL screen is crap and annoying to look at. Check out the Essential PH-1 phone. Fantastic phone and a great price right now with zero bloatware just like the Pixel 2 XL with a much better screen that the Pixel 2 XL.

  • I just recently bend my Pixel 2 XL 128GB in half. It was a bit too easy to do so I tossed it in the trash. Last week I picked up a Essentials PH-1 and I'm kicking myself for not getting this phone before hand rather wasting my money on a Pixel 2 XL. The Pixel 2 XL has a strange effect if you look at the screen with any slight tilt, it's like a polarization problem and you get a blue haze look to it. It is very annoying. The speed was fine and the camera was great but the Essential is almost just as good and the hardware feels premium from top to bottom unlike the Google Pixel 2. As for the screen on the Essential... night an day difference from the Pixel 2 XL. I really enjoy hold and looking at this phone. Save your money and go get a used Essential PH-1 for just $220 dollars or a new one for $400 to $460 depending on the color you choose. Best phone I have ever put in my hands.

  • Using Pixel 2XL for last 5 months. Was an iphone user for last 5 years changed to Pixel cause of camera features but found the Android 9 same as smooth as IOS 12 if not better. Was thinking of buying the Samsung S9+ but the Smooth OS turned the game for me. Also the Sudden discount in Pixel2XL played my mind into buying it. An apple device containing Potrait mode is still costlier than Pixel 2XL. Pros : 1)Best Android OS user interface. 2) If not the Best Camera. Such a pure sight camera, beats High contrast Apple & Samsung cameras any time of the day. 3) The Night site Mode is Just WOW. 4) Unlimited Google Photo store for next 3 years.(Apple should learn from this 5GB icloud is nothing.) 5) I am not an heavy gamer so battery lasts more than a day with me with 4G on whole time but about 18-19 hours with Wifi connected. 6)Apps run smoothly as it runs in IOS. 7)No Stupid themes or skins to slow the phone down. 8)Gets Android updates easily. (Still Apple is better at this as they provide update untill 5 years, Google would do untill 3 years). 9) Portait mode with Single Cam is so SMARTer than Apple & Samsung. 10)Also premium looks way better than One Plus devices. 11) No lags untill now. 12) Trust me android 9 is smarter than IOS 12. Cons 1) Display good but not top notch at this PRICE range. 2) Some things like that Apple book, Apple Pass etc feature missing in Android. Google should try to use that as it really become handly. You can store all ID cards soft copies without any trouble to find them over & over again. 3)IOS is much more user friendlier.(Depending upon how u use for phone.) 4)App syc with device still not at IOS level. 5) Screen touch quality is way worse than an Iphone 6. In Short I m a Happy user, only migrated from Apple due to higher price for almost similar or less features. Trust me the Camera in this device is just WOW. I dnt trust the DXO mark scores for this device is much better. Iphone XR camera is worse than this. Buy this you wnt regret. Except TOP shot it has all the Pixel 3Xl's rear cam features.

  • Is there skme issues with Pixel 2XL? I want to buy it

  • If you want a great camera and good software, go with pixel 2 xl, for performance or display go with note 8. I'd do note 8.

  • Which should i get galaxy note 8 or google pixel 2 xl? Regarding all aspects Display camera battery life user experience

  • Nice phone

  • I bought google pixel 2 xl from India 1 month back. Do not buy speaker problem and sound cracks

  • S9+ for better performance and slightly convenient camera, headphone jack and precious expandable storage. Pixel 2 XL for long-term updates.

  • yes i make for de mai

  • Doubt there is much competition between these two except for headphone jack. Go for pixel. Samsung is using it's power nowadays to sell phones as they give very late updates because they want to sell new models. Not the case with pixel. Also you get smoother experience, better camera and speaker and yes amazing battery life

  • Pixel 2 XL or Samsung S9 Plus which phone should I choose

  • Pixel all the way. It's a better phone overall. The camera is really amazing, the phone will continue to have support for much longer than the iPhone X.

  • Between iphone X and pixel 2 xl..what should i get?

  • Awesome device. Previous Oneplus 3T user here. Dabbled a lot between OP 6T and Pixel2XL. Finally settled on this one and don't regret one bit. Android experience is just AMAZINGGGGG!!!!!! Just go for it guys. I won't say Oneplus is a bad phone but the software on this one is just crazy smooth. Far exceeded my expectations.

  • I might say, this is also one of the beast phones has beeninvented for the year 2018

  • Hi kindly fix this issue my battery on P2xl drains very fast only 4 hours SOT after android 9 update😭 pls update it thanks.pls give tip. i did reboot already but no avail. thanks

  • My brothers oneplus 6 fell and cracked and stopped working... They didn't give any replacement... Similar amount of 10k was charged to get the display replaced... Well thankfully its 10k, if it was apple you would've had to say good bye to your phone... Their display replacement charges in India are like really high...

  • Really? fell on its own?? I don't think so our phones have that capability. I feel Google is okay to deny your request. You really need to take care of your device ma'am and not put blames on others.

  • Xl fell on its own. I registered a complaint with Goggle Support. They picked up my phone on 05.12.2018 & till date I am trying to resolve the issue. My phone is given 2 years warranty. I think they have all fake policies for warranty. I asked them about the solution, they said they need to open the device. I told them if such thing has raised in just 3 days time, I do not want this device to be repaired. I need replacement, for which they denied and on top of it they said there is no warranty for the phone as there is a scratch on the back panel, hence this is called Physical / Cosmetic damage. Instead, they sent me an estimate for approx INR 10717/- I asked them for Service Deny Letter which they are mum about it. Google is a hopeless in service. I have had a worst experience. An esteemed company like Google can play such cheap tricks to deny warranty for 3 days old phone. I am shocked with their approach and service. They are just looting customers under false advertisement. They say the Warranty is for 2 years. And they some how deny/reject the liability. May be they have different policies for US people and Indian User. I have been a victim of their false warranty commitment. I will never ever recommend Google to anyone. Don't buy Google phones they are not worth. By paying money you are buying a headache. Google#pixel2XL#review#worstexperience#notworth#hopelessservice

  • Did you get it online? Or from a store? Many times they sell refurbished phones online.. Also Google has at home services in India.. Find googles helpline number and call them.. They will send an executive to your place to solve the issue...

  • My phone got manufactured in July 2018 and I bought it yesterday. My queries are : 1.. Blue Screen issue still persists. 2. Extremely grainy display while recording it in Slow Mo 3. Unable to see any authorized stores in Hyderabad. If this it, how to know about service centers ?

  • awesome phone.... Camera and performance ecxellent

  • When I bought my pixel 2xl, it had Pie update and I noticed battery life is pretty good. Sometimes as per my usage I got 6+ hours of screen on time. Reset your phone I bet it will be alright unless it has some problems

  • I bought a pixel online made in May 2018 but it has blue tint but not noticeable. But I am loving my Panda Pixel 2XL

  • Software updates can't heal the blue tint problems. But I'm pretty sure they're already fixed that on newer productions.

  • I recently got a pixel 2 xl. But I made sure I purchase it from a local store and open the box in front of me and not order it online.. They many times sell refurbished phones online.. Also this is my second time buying this phone.. First time I had a horrible experience with really bad blue shift and grainy display.. This time I saw the manufacturing date before purchasing... I got a phone manufactured in July this year and not November last year or anytime last year... There is absolutely no blue tint or extreme grainy display.. Yes colours are a bit off, not the best colour profile, wish they had provided manual controls with rgb colours, rest is all great... It is a nice display, things look good on it.. Brightness could be more but otherwise no issues...

  • Is there any annoying blue tints in display still r it has fixed through SW updates???

  • Agree completely. And sometimes I m getting screen on time of 7 hrs. Awesome

  • Since the Android P update every time I use the camera app the battery drains @ 1% or 2% per click or usage. Sometimes it goes down by 3% while using the video recording option. Anyone else facing the same problem.

  • I m switching from 6T to 2xl .quality matters . Pixel far better than oneplus chineese out of quality display. Vibrator noisy. Display problems. Pixels good ..thankyou

  • i have the iphone8 and thinking about buying the pixel

  • Still worth it.. trust me, check TechFocus from YouTube, you will find the comparation, the Pixel 2 XL cam is still the better than any other phone.

  • Definitely its still worth it, I am using it. After latest updates, its going better and better. Camera is the thing you can trust blindly on Pixel 2 xl.

  • worst cellphone ever built, trash phone. my phone is 9 month old and now every time i try to charge it it turns off.

  • I m looking for camera centric device .as I travel too much looking for best camera device and many are op6T over this but confused between 2Xl .. is it still worth buying

  • Pixel 2 XL. You'll love it.

  • Pixel 2 xl or iphone 8 (4.7 inch)?

  • Charging is actually capped at 18W (9V 2A) when the PD charger is capable of this output.

  • Enjoying my new panda pixel 2 xl.

  • i am using pixel 2xl for last 4 months without any issue superb camera stunning performance no issue but only shape quality no good s8 shape is good but s8 is suck i bought s8 pin pack from dubai but after using 3 months dots appera on screen and screen pixel starting dead samsung suck and pixel camera 100% better than s8 and fast speed and after updating 9.0 to many features coming...

  • here how to update via cable usb

  • How to update without WiFi... Somebody help me

  • Garbage price? Then why apple a10 CPU still better than Snapdragon 835? And could update for 5years ? Does apple cpu could last long for software update and is android cpu has a limit on update which only last for 2years on os and 3years security patch dont you think apple price is reasonable expensive? The A10? is it really better looking at the spec sheets the SD 835 and even in real life performances the 835 with ram optimization is much smoother and faster then the A10. 5 years of update for Apple devices sounds nice but recently just this year didn't they say those updates that support older devices make them slower. where's the threat of having security when its the own company apple slowing down their phones. the CLOUD gets hacked yearly as photos are always leaked. Android slows down but comparing both prices to the performance you get a super phone that lasts for 2-3 years rather then being a sheep and upgrading your phone yearly.

  • Yeah, on steroids but still lacks dual speakers setup, IP water resistance rating, less performing camera and display. So yeah keep fantasizing that you're disappointing.

  • I do not know much about pixel but I am sure 5T is really good. Smooth, fast, no heating and nice battery and I love dash charge

  • iPhone 7 Plus is just a unrefined iPhone 8. the 7 was released back in 2016 so it's only fair it would get more sales. it's fairly cheap to get on a medium size plan. LOL people who want a more fluid UI and like a more performance based phone will go with a Pixel. the outdated iPhone 7PLUS is still a great phone if you like Apple big screen, good specs still and a decent price tag compared to the slightly better garbage apple prices.

  • iPhone 7 Plus?! Pixel 2 XL is way far better than that one. Camera, battery, display, everything!

  • Pixel 2xl is better

  • Agriz, agriz, haha, dont be mad at me or at OnePlus,be mad at Pixel, its their fault for not being better, haha, good luck next time.

  • Sorry to disapoint so many Pixel fans- Pixel is a awesome performer but not the greatest; Oneplus 6 works like Pixel on steroids, yeah! Its even faster and not just because official benchmark says its faster than Pixel, but its faster in real life use and smoooother! U ll find some minor lags in Pixel in less than a year of usage, but u wont find that lags on Oneplus 5,5t,6.

  • Is there any kind of heating issue facing with this phone..please suggest me whether iphone 7plus is better or Google pixel 2xl is better

  • It's quality that determines, not popularity.

  • Top of the line? When? They can't even match iPhone 7 sales. Lol

  • Guys how about android pie performance is it better??? Is this pixel has better optimise performance compared to oneplus5t??? I fear this pixel got a "little lag" in term optimise since 5t could overclock their cpu. I curios if this pixel can overclock their cpu or not. Help me guys i plan to get pixel or 5t in the near future since im no fan of notch. I just want to which has optimise in term of gaming. I dont care about bigger RAM. Pubgm/Rules of survival is it okayyy????

  • Just bought a brand new panda 128gb pixel 2 XL. Love this phone!

  • I won the Pixel 2 XL for almost a year now. And its worth every penny for someone who wants top of the line performance, Fluid UI, latest updates... and i dont think i need to talk about the camera on this thing... I have owned Google Phones for the past 4 Years and it just keeps getting better.

  • Phones are being looked at like works of art which they are not. Never have been and never will be. I own both the iPhone X and the Galaxy Note 9. That is all.

  • Ugly yet top of the line. Suit yourself, child

  • Ugliest Phone huh ? See the Specs compare to any other Brand. It's just because that they don't have the Latest Design it's already Ugly ? Your so Mean Bro !!

  • I think Google were trying to achieve the ugliest phone ever award

  • Postively the best phone i've ever owned, Speed, GPU and Camera are miles above anything on the market. I've had the phones below, Nokia Lumia Iphone 5 Samsung Note 2 Samsung Note 4 Motorola Razri Cubot X12 Cubot Cheetah Cubot Note Plus Cubot X15 Cubot X18 Plus Cubot Rainbow

  • Yes,its the only pure android on market, but u can instal custom rom on any android device, lol.

  • My phone takes too long to get 100% charge and get discharge very soon as my experience of previous phones..

  • exactly mate....I see no reason to go back...Pure Android rules!

  • hoping to buy this in the Philippines SM or AYALA malls

  • Don't see the point upgrading to Pixel 3. They will have the same RAM and the P2 still has one of the best cameras on the market. Maybe the screen will improve but I'm quite lucky that mine has hardly any blue shift.

  • Don't doubt Pixcel Camera It's the best camera phone of 2017 followed by Note 8 , Galaxy S8 and iPhone X

  • That's why Pixcel phone cost high. Its a pure Android Experience and is better than all the available Android device.

  • WHAT !!! ..........it was released in 2017 and still has the best portrait mode till day

  • hi guys, I'm coming from using Samsung flagships. I change from the S series to the notes as soon as they come out. From S3 to the Note 2, S4 to Note 3, S5 to Note 4, S6 to Note 5, S8+ to Note 8... I've used the Note 8 for about 10 months before deciding to try out the Pixel 2 XL. I got to admit, I was carried away with the negative hype that was going around the Pixel. That is, till it actually started using it. Yes, I noticed and admit that the Note 8's display is THE best you can hold in your hands (you know that's true), and yes, the Pixel 2 XL's screen is not AS good as the N8's, but damn the frame rate. It's so smooth! Next, the build quality. The Note 8 is a very sturdy, heavy and a dense phone. you feel you money there. it screams premium. But Pixel is just ok in that department. The phone is significantly lighter but that's no issue. what bothered me was that the phone felt hollow in the middle. Not hating, test it out yourselves... and I thought I may as well just go back to the N8..and I did....immediate regret. I started missing the Pixel...and I swapped back to it. And now for the reason why I don't regret that move. -Battery life is bloody good. I got 2 days of use with one charge. -The phone is super snappy. Opening, switching apps are effortless. NO stutter!!! -camera...camera...words can't describe the difference and the quality. -Rapid Charge - I never had to restart the phone cause of lag or stutter. -stereo speakers quality. -Android P If there are any one else who switched from the Note 8 to the Pixel 2 xl, you know what I'm talking about. Just an honest experience from my end :)

  • Sure, that`s why i own it

  • Does it blur the background images like iPhone X??

  • Most of flagships nowadays doesn't have FM radio. Sad :/

  • Pixel 2XL :) stock android experience and raw image quality is one of the finest features of Google Pixel phones. If you prefer for the notch, then go for the OP6 or wait for the Pixel 3XL.

  • If u need fm radio you can another one beside this.

  • No FM radio ? FM quality is better than mpeg encoded internet radio.

  • Sticking with Oreo until they fix the kinks.

  • Thanks Iam keeping brightness on 90‰ .

  • The new brightness slider is logarithmic in P instead of linear. So moving the slider between 1/4 to 1/2 of the slider has way less of a brightness increase than moving the slider from 1/2 to 3/4.

  • Is this able to buy this right now , i am thinking to buy oneplus 6 or either pixel 2 ! Which is more better ?

  • Google are creating half-baked iPhone clones in both hardware and software. First they remove headphone jack and expandable storage, now they add a notch, now Android adds gesture-based interface, which isn't nearly as intuitive as Apple's. They have no right to mock Apple ever again.

  • After upgrade to P . Brightness is much less from before . Any advise ?

  • Getting android P today! So happy

  • Nope. Not in 1000 years. I simply hate EMUI - is designed for kids, not for adults to use. And it is iOS copy.

  • Get a Huawei P20 Pro, it has a massive 40mp back camera and 24mp selfie camera, i have one, its amazing!

  • Overpriced...

  • Overall happy with the phone and features. However, software fixes SHOULD include: 1) Camera... take a picture and be able to open it in the gallery. Now, the camera takes the picture, and you can tap and look at it, but with NO features. Why not have it open in the gallery? 2) Contacts... for heavens sake, add a ribbon on the side of the contact list with the alphabet. The drag feature requires you to first select the list in the middle BEFORE the drag bar appears. Then, you have to let go and drag... Why not simply put an alphabet bar and go directly to the area of the list you need? There is a lot of screen real-estate to do this. 3) How about you have some users come into a room, show them the phone and get input from typical people? Obviously the designers NEVER got input or did a usability study. There are other things, but these are my top suggestions.

  • Can someone PLEASE just make a phone with a better camera?! This phone is nearing a year old and NO phone has managed to have better cameras than this. It's really annoying, because there are many phones that are better than the Pixel 2 in everything else (in other words, the Pixel 2 is only the best at the camera and NOTHING ELSE, apart from the software updates). This phone has gotten really slow.

  • overall the best phone on the market... good in all situations... easy to take very good photos, easy to play pubg without headsets because is stereo and you can watch a video in a noisy place without putting the phone in your ear ... good battery for one day(usually have ~40% at the end of the day)... former s8... mi5s... htcU11 owner... P.S. Best at displaying you the relevant notifications and not bullshits...

  • I have a good device.... no problems here... best phone ever :D

  • There is an app called moment pro Camera. Recently updated. Must try

  • Tank you bro

  • Some units have faulty speakers. It's a known issue. RMA if you can.

  • Yes , me too. My speaker is crackle and buzz, it's very annoying.

  • Couldn't be happier with my Pixel 2. I know some people had duff units but mine is great. No screen problems and works like a charm!

  • The difference in camera is so far. Yes OP6 The fastest android smartphone. But pixel's line-up is still the smoothest android experience. Have tried both.

  • Still prefer the OnePlus 6, Pixel 3 might offer some upgrades in terms of camera quality but the specs on the paper are particularly the same.

  • Black is boring, I have black&white and looks nice

  • I have problem with my speaker , it's crackle. Is this the same problem to all of you guys ?thanks!

  • Hello brother Wich color is better.. please tell me your opinion

  • Hello, i came from LG G phones and i'm missing manual camera options, any good app alternatives for this?

  • Yes I am.....

  • You might have to go with regular Pixel 3, since the XL is going to have a massive notch.

  • Double the specs? Half the price? Are you talking about Oneplus?

  • You can buy doubled of these specification in less than $1000 man!!! Try to check the market once in a week or at least once in a year brah............

  • The blue tint isn't too bad on my model, the graininess is worse. But it's a lottery, some units have minimal screen issues.

  • In spite of its flaws, I find myself going back to this phone. Awesome camera, best Android experience and panda model is sexy af. I might buy Pixel 3 (not XL 'cos notch) if it has panda.

  • The blue tint will ruined your usage experience. I do have one and it occured, but laterly change with a new one. It won't happen on regular Pixel 2 because it used AMOLED from Samsung and it much reliable. Pixel 2 XL used P-OLED from LG manufactures, so that's why LG V30 has same screen problem which is burn-in screen.

  • Yeah I've seen a lot of reviewrs addressing this issue. Didn't seem to bother my eyes but is it really that bad? Do you know if the Pixel 2 has the same problem?

  • S8 in my country is not cheap tho, it cost $800. Huawei and Xiaomi are way cheaper and I'm really enjoying my Huawei device, I liked it more than Samsung, but between Samsung and Google, knowing already what Samsung offers, I feel like trying new brands, and I really feel like trying out a pixel phone, so I'll see.

  • Pixel 2 XL is a "budget" flagship phone? Mi 6, S8+ and Mate 10 are way more cheaper.

  • I would've kept my Pixel 2 XL if it wasn't for the display. Color shift, graininess and mooted colors are unacceptable for a $1000 flagship. The display IS the phone. It's hard to turn a blind-eye to it. Terrible quality control from Google.

  • Hopefully you win the screen lottery with your P2XL. I ordered a 128gb model direct from Google, manufactured Dec 2017, but the graininess and blue shift were unacceptable.

  • You think so? I have a Note 4 as my secondary phone and I'm pretty happy with it but wanted to try other brands, so far I'm happy with Huawei but I'm hoping the release of Pixel 3XL will make this one drop at least a hundred bucks, I just love stuck android experience and my main hobbie is taking pictures. That's really why I was considering this one as my first "budget" flagship. And since I don't like notch at all, 1+ is not an option, sadly... Where I live Note 8 is just way too expensive tho, (around $1,200 dlls), so it's not an option for me, way out of my budget.

  • With that $1000 dollars phone, you can get better phones than this one. You can get Note8 with 128GB for lower price and you also get the expandable storage. Headphone jack (not to forget), wireless charging, heart rate sensor, S Pen and lower risk to get burn-in screen. Pixel 2 XL just have the camera to compete with Note8. I owned this one and not one of the best I've ever used.

  • Lol they will indeed add a notch for 3 XL, apparently... I'm just waiting for its release so 2 XL pricetag drops a little. I'm ok with lack of audio jack since I'm used to bluetooth hadphones and still we get an adapter, and 128 GB would do just good for me. I just really want a pure smooth Android experience with awesome camera and Google Assistant wrap up in a nice panda-looking phone.

  • None

  • How many languages do you speak perfectly?

  • fix your English man.. this is like a puzzle to me.

  • No problems at all on battery life. Using this as my daily driver, 2 days battery life for normal usage, 6h SoT for watching videos and about 5+ hours for continuous gaming.

  • Guys im thinking about getting one cuz im from Pakistan and we don't get new devices here so is ther any issue with the battery?

  • It's resistant

  • Great phone. Using it since Dezember 2017 and got one of the models from the newer charge. The Display is soooo much better now. Stock Android is the best in the business so as the camera! Battery Life is pretty impressive for its 2k+ resolution. (4-6h SoT with my usage) Looking forward for the Pixel 3 XL!

  • Please include the radio next time.. Thanks!

  • I actually prefer the 'Boosted' colour profile. The colours are muted but feel more natural. Saturated mode is overdone.

  • Hehe OnePlus with better camera what a joke man OnePlus can't beat even cheap xiaomi redmi camera. Sammy and pixel XL they camera legends

  • is it good to buy google pixel 2 from non- service center cities?

  • What do you mean with 40k?

  • From Note 8 to Pixel 2xl. I decided to make a change just 2 days ago. All I can say, the device looks and feel premium. Battery is great! And camera is better than samsung. I am very used to samsung theme than stock android. Music Player, Samsung Gallery, Samsung Files, Dual App and Secure Folder, those are the things that I miss. But after a few days of using pixel 2 xl's Google Photo, I realized its not that bad, compared to Samsungs Gallery. The file manager's replacement is Download Folder and the only problem is video player. I cant pinch to zoom unlike Samsung's and there's no PIP. So you have to download 3rd party and I don't like that because it makes extra cache folder and thumbnail photos that appear on Google Photo app. I am just so OC. I like my folders to be organized. Other than that, everything is perfect! Very fluid. Super Fast. With regards to the screen, the update fixed the issue. It is now saturated like Samsung's. Oh btw, it has built in AR Stickers now on Camera app. Well I hope this review helps. ❤️

  • one thing i m sure that in terms of camera quality, one plus 6 may not be better than pixel 2 xl. i have herad that in flipkart sale pixel 2 xl will come under 40K.. will that be a good deal than one plus 6?

  • Purchased last month Pixel XL 2 and very 2nd day return due to over heating and the response given by Google that they want to check and then only exchange this device and after 15 days check they send a document that says device is perfect now we can't tell them for exchange or new device now they simply fool us after paying 58999/- amount as per them now I have to use that shit repair device.now I am going for Legal against Croma from where I purchased that device. Thanks Google for great service and response such a big company can do all this......thanks once again

  • Good joke..

  • Does a phone this day really need WATER RESISTENT? I'm really jealous! (>_>)

  • Does somebody else have issues with the touchscreen? My device has big problems with multi-touch. It also happens when I look at pictures and want to zoom. In games like pubg it's unacceptable because the phone does whatever it wants to do and not what i tell the phone to do. I already read about those problems and that they will be fixed soon with a security patch but I'm not sure.

  • Wait for the Oneplus 6! It will probably have an Snapdragon 845 and more ram than the Pixel/S9. And don't forget the always awesome battery optimization on the Oneplus devices. It will also be cheaper and the camera will be as good or even better than the one from Pixel/S9.

  • If you want pure stock Android experience, go with the P2XL. It's kind of a lottery not to get a duff unit, though.

  • pixel 2xl or Samsung S9+ ?? should i wait for one plus 6 ?

  • 1000% true. these companies are charging fortunes for minor upgrades. and we are fool to pay for those things

  • i say to Google Please make also Dual Sim version and officially launch mobiles in Pakistan

  • Go for pixel 2 xl over p20 pro.. Or else, wait for pixel 3 or Samsung Note 9..

  • I am highly confused between pixel 2xl and Samsung s9+?

  • No problem. I am happy to help others and tell me if you need more help!

  • I'm also confused between pixel 2 xl and p20 pro. Since the pixel 2 xl isn't available in my country and I have to ship it I think I might wait until October for pixel 3. I'm still not sure what to do.

  • Thanks for recommendation I am too very much inclined towards P20 pro and wanted replacement of Lenovo vibe X3 (not using anymore but was in love with it). It was best mobile in all aspects except updates... (Hate Lenovo for this) And hence confused with Pixel 2XL

  • Truly happy with Pixel 2 XL, I have been changing android phones over the past years and ultimately I have decided that this is the best Android phone from the maker of Android itself. I used this for work and leisure and when it comes to taking photos, this phone speaks for itself despite the new Huawei is probably better, I am not convinced for now.

  • Look on YouTube they have all the comparisons covered. In most cases pixel 2 xl wins. Huawei is absolutely useless at software updates, one of the worst.

  • Video quality is similar, but when it comes to photo quality, I can truly tell that you will get 6 times better quality on P20 Pro(BTW, P20 Pro is the best phone for taking photos...Yet). The battery on P20 Pro is a bit bigger than the Pixel 2 XL, but P20 Pro gets to run faster and domore things at the same time while the Pixel 2 XL needs to run higher resolution display so the battery life should be quite similar on both. It is stereo sound on Pixel 2 XL and it is not stereo on P20 Pro, but you get 32-bit/384kHz audio on the P20 Pro and you won't get that on Pixel 2 XL. The performance should be quite similar. Overall, I checked that P20 Pro is so much more popular at GSMArena, but less people liked it(Pixel 2 XL:527 fans, P20 Pro: 413 Fans, I am sure this will change), but I still recommend you to choose P20 Pro. Hope this helps! BTW, please reply on this message so I know if you saw it, or if this helped you or not. Thanks for the message!

  • P20 Pro Vs P2XL ? Need recommendation for Which one... based on below 1. Stereo Speakers (dual) 2. Battery life 3. Picture Quality (Day & Night) 4. Video Quality

  • adding face ID. :)

  • Full of trolls!!!

  • This is basically an iPhone 'copycat' for Android but without the hardware quality and software cross-compatibility. Google mocked Apple for scrapping the 3.5mm jack, only to follow suit. Then they removed the SD card slot. What's next for the Pixel 3? The notch?

  • Enjoy your POLED screen from 2006.

  • I owned both of them. For superior camera, slightly better display and front-facing stereo speakers, go for P2XL. For great battery life and bigger phone, and more-worthy of your money, go for 1+5T. For me, the best choice is 1+5T, but you can spend extra money and get P2XL, the camera is truly unrivalled.

  • Would you guys help me to decide which phone should i buy between oneplus 5t or google pixel 2 xl? Your opinions will be appreciated.

  • What are you taking the phone is great. The screen is not defective, just because it has a tint when you look at the screen at certain angles don’t mean it’s defective. Head phone jack is not a massive issue any more as it’s easy to use the adapter that comes in the box. How much is a set of headphones!!! Not a lot. Also how about the positives like regular software updates and no bloatware, pure android. Let’s not forget the best camera on a smartphone.

  • This phone really isn't worth the $1000 price tag. At that price you expect a premium product, but the screen is defective and there's problems with the speaker and connectivity. Not to mention the lack of headphone jack, no SD card, or wireless charging. Google are even too cheap to throw in a set of earphones.

  • I think it says in their T&C that replacements can be used from refurbished parts. I believe Apple has the same policy. As for your warranty, the replacement will come under the two year warranty or 90 days, whichever is longer.

  • i have owned two pixel xl. Owner of pixel 2 LX. Recent charging issues with my unit. Resulted in warranty replacement. My issue is google pixel is a premium phone, at a premium price and purchased directly from Google store. The replacement unit is a refurbished unit? humm should i feel let down do i expect too much? next question is will the refurbished unit only a 90 day warranty, or continue the reminder of 2 year hardware warranty?

  • After iOS 11 and my IPhone x and Oreo issues on the Samsung note 8, both are horrible flagship, the Google pixel 2 xl looks for me..

  • Think I'm going to get rid of my IPhone x 256 gb silver and my Samsung note 8 for the Google pixel 2 xl

  • 100% agreed... Their marketing tactics r too criminal

  • Hope Google improve their QC with the Pixel 3 XL. Keep the panda design but use a better display panel!

  • I have the Pixel XL and my work phone is an iPhone 8. I only use the iPhone to FaceTime my wife and kids since they all have iPhones. This is hands down the best phone ever. It's so easy to use and the camera is out of this world. But the fact that it's a Google phone and it interacts with Google so well sets it apart from everyone

  • I would have to agree with you. And trust me, phones are excellent at doing, what people use them for. The only problem is manufacturers not providing updates after a while, so we have to rely on the community to release updates.

  • "Flawless display"? Apart from the horrible blue shift, burn-in, black smear and graininess y'mean? 😂😂

  • the google pixel 2 xl is the opitome of a reliable, phenomenal performing phone, from its flawless display to its camera and ease of use. I strongly recommend you purchase one =)

  • would have made this device even pricier than it is now.

  • Good to know, thanks for your input!

  • You are absolutely right. I agree with all of you said.

  • Yes I have the Pixel 2 XL and this phone is by far the best phone I have ever had. I've had Android and iPhone but this one beats then all

  • You have the Pixel 2 XL right? I'm excited for it! I was able to qualify for the financing which was running a deal for $200 back in credit and a free charger so $750 for the phone after everything which is a lot easier to stomach.

  • I have At&t. I ordered the Pixel lol. I would've have wanted the p20 pro with 128 and with it being $1100+ is too much for me. I guess for now both phones won't be available in the US anyway so it's out of reach for me. However thanks for letting me know about your reception experience!

  • sorry but to add i currently have this phone and love it there has been no problems with it at all

  • what phone company do you have? always check the lte bands because i hade the honor 7x from huawei here in california and it had horrible reception

  • If only Google used the Samsung panel for this one instead of LG. It would be a 10/10 phone.

  • I'm choosing between this and the just-announced Huawei P20 Pro. The only thing I hate about Huawei is EMUI but their cameras sound like beasts! I've used pure Android in the past and thought it was too plain and boring but that was in the Galaxy S4 era so it's been a while. Coming from mostly Samsung phones I guess I've grown accustomed to everything but the kitchen sink approach. Would you guys recommend the Pixel 2 XL for me? I also want the 128GB version which $950 seems like such a crazy price!

  • Soon, smartphone buyers will realize that phone upgrades every year or two is absolutely a waste of money and expensive smartphones do not deserve their price. Smartphone development has reached a plateau. Most people really only use phones for photo/video capture, Facebook, YouTube and some online browsing and gaming in addition to calling and texting. Any improvement in photo/video quality, processor speed, screen technology, phone unlock method, etc, doesn't add anymore significant improvement to the phone's usability, convenience and overall user experience. There is no reason smartphones should not have the same upgrade cycle as PC's (5-6 years) and more so, no reason why phones should cost more than good desktop PC's. Consumers/phone buyers are led to believe by phone manufacturers that phones need to be replaced every year or two when in reality, new flagship phones of today have nothing significant anymore to offer to improve the user experience than flagship phones from a year or two ago. In the final analysis, only 2 things will require a regular upgrade/change: 1. increase in storage needs as the years go by and as you consume more and more GB of storage data, and 2. battery replacement as the battery deteriorates through frequent charging and discharging. Apple and Google are really clever for not providing expandable storage and removable batteries in their phones. Those are the two components that will rapidly render even a properly cared for phone useless (storage full or rapidly discharging battery) in much shorter time. These tech industries need to be regulated. They are coming up with with more and more features that guarantee rapid obsolescence for a more frequent upgrade cycle.

  • Not a fan of Samsung's bloated UI and their godawful emojis.

  • What? why did u just say s9+? I know its a samsung model but like that's not much of a comment or review. lol

  • s9+

  • My pixel 2 xl is still as perfect as the day I got it. No problems what so ever. Pure fluid android with a fantastic camera. Never been so pleased with a purchase as I am with this device.

  • The blue shift is cause by the panel they used p-oled which Google got from LG. LG actually uses the same panel for their phones which in turns have the issue quote "blue shift". I really like this phone because of the great camera and also the fast update but the panels they used hinders me from purchasing one and the lack of headphone jack and expandable memory just makes it easy to scratch this phone of my list.

  • Well after a lot of thought I decided to get the pixel 2 xl coming from galaxy s8, I was very excited... I got a piece manufactured in November from Flipkart.. The minute I put it on, I could see this heavy and very prominent blue shift at the slightest tilt of the phone.. I also felt the display was very grainy like a matte screen guard was applied on it.. And my camera had problems too, it was elongating the images, like stretching them vertically, looked very wonky.. I decided to contact Google customer care as Flipkart takes no returns.. The service seemed very prompt, the guy came to my place, picked up the phone after seeing the issues.. I was impressed at first.. But to my surprise, they took my device for 10 days.. No call, no follow up... I called them... And their response, we tested your device, everything is okay.. We are sending back the same phone.. No replacement coz we don't see a problem... The blue shift, still the same, display still grainy... Camera yes they fixed it I guess.. But am very disappointed with the service.. So if you are in India, forget getting any replacement for your pixels, they will take your phone, keep it for 10 days n give us back the same... Sad..

  • My pixel 2 xl display was cracked. But no service center in Visakhapatnam they have to pick up the phone and send to service center than they will say exact price of the diplay. And they said they will give New seal box to me. Before that i have to know the price of display. According to them price will tell after testing the device. .it takes min 7days here. Big problem to say the price

  • Pixel 2 XL or iPhone 8 Plus?

  • I love my Pixel 2 XL. I have had this phone for less than 2 weeks since I made the MAJOR investment in purchase this ($900 something). I got it in a timely fashion. Right out of the box I was impressed. I love the single lens camera look and the fingerprint sensor on the back. Where it should be. After doing a battery drain and charging it back up to 100% I began to us it and I am very impressed. It seems quicker/snappier than its predecessors. The real selling point is the PURE Android experience. It doesn’t have the ads and extra apps like Facebook, Uber, IHeart Radio and Carrier Apps. It only comes with 21 (last I counted) pre-installed apps. On my old phone I jail broke/ rooted it to get the features to do what this phone already comes with. Like killing apps in the back ground and limiting permissions on what apps can have access to. (Why does the calculator need access to your phone book???) Also, the battery life is OUTSTANDING. I tend to use my phone for my business which makes it my second most important tool for what I do. I will have it fully charged at 6:30 in the morning with heavy use during the day. It will still be around 20% at 8 o’clock that night. The automatic music identifier is a great touch as is the camera. I have taken a lot of pics with it and this is the absolute best I’ve ever used or seen. For the average user like me I will never get the full use out of it but, it is good to know it is there. One of the few things I am disappointed about is the Google Photos. I am not good with how it tries to identify everyone in the pics and try to ask you their names. Which it send your photos to the Google Cloud. At this point I feel like I am feeding the “Beast”. So I use a third party app for my photos. Another problem that I had was in the first 72 hours my phone kept saying that Google has stopped. Nothing worked after that. I turned it on and off and it still was doing the same thing. I checked for an update which there was and it took care of the problem. But, my real problem is with Google themselves. Two weeks after I bought my phone the prices dropped by $200. So I called and inquired about getting in on this deal and they said that I would have to return my phone and order a new one. First of all, who does that? For an older person like me it takes 3 days to get my phone just the way I want it. So this would mean I would have to put my info back on my old phone (Nexus 6) then transfer it again when I get my new phone. That is just too much trouble. So if I return it they can keep it. I will just get a Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s. It’s still $200 cheaper with the discount that Google is giving. I am very disappointed in how Google is handling my situation. I’m pretty sure I am going to return it because it is the principle of it. But, still I refuse to go to Apple due to their control freak OS and I will go back to a flip phone before going to a Samsung. Also, they didn’t send me a survey after I hung up on them

  • These things are pretty tough / resistant to scuffs etc , if you’re as careful as you say , you shouldn’t need any screen protector or stuff like that , to me , the phone looks and fells way better without the protection All or most of this screen protections are a gimmic for the most part , an industry on its own

  • My first Google phone and I have been very pleased. I frequently change devices but this to the point of last frontier. Nevermind Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC. This is a great phone and everything else of its features. I admire Google products therefore this phone rated 9 out of 10

  • Advisable to apply screen protector.

  • It's a great phone; just be sure to buy from the Google Store. The Verizon Variant on the PIXEL 2 XL is not OEM unlockable; LOCKED BOOTLOADER. No rooting or factory re-imaging possible

  • Any recommendations on a screen protector? I'd shop on Amazon.ca as I'm in Canada Has anyone bought one that goes on smooth without bubbles or peeling? Do I need one? I'm pretty careful with my phone's. Thanks.

  • I love this phone and I’m glad I made the decision to buy it. Came from an s8 still running nugget not Oreo and don’t miss it at all. Your opinion is just that. If you can afford this device then headphones are a fraction of the cost, who don’t own headphones anyway. I had both nexus 6 and 6p and they were nothing special the 6p was fragile, bent easy plus it had the snapdragon 810 with heat issues that throttled performance because the 810 was a bad soc. The nexus 6 was a good device but had a battery that needed charging at minimum of twice a day. How have google f!!ked up in making a better device!!! Fare enough if it’s not your type of phone but at least give a better reason for trash talk.

  • can't record 4K video*

  • Sorry, this information is wrong. Snapdragon 835 has an ability to render 4K display with 60fps rate but it can't record 4K display with 60fps, it's hardware limitation. But it can render 4K video playback with 60fps. Sorry again.

  • IMO this phone is pretty good. Battery life is about above average, about 5h SoT on browsing, music & video playback. About 4h SoT for gaming. My S7e was about the same with this phone in terms of battery life but keep in mind that I owned P2XL and S7e and my S7e was about 2 years old. Thanks for the question :-D

  • What about the battery life, how is it compared to S7edge

  • I really would love this device if the screen was better. Just been into my local CW and also the EE shop. CW no longer have it turned on, and stutter and stammer when asked why. The one in EE, it sadly had burn in, which was highly distracting. A fat "G" in the centre of the screen. Quite obvious too. Shame, because their cameras are fantastic. Hopefully they add wireless charging in the next one, and improve the screen. Much of the rest is excellent.

  • I have Pixel 2 xl , i phone x and note 8... so If I will go woth camera quality I will rate pixel 2 xl as number one and as per display quality it is okay cause they are using lg display and we all know i phone displays are best cauae they are made by samsung and if I will rate over all from 10 I will rate 8 as per my usage...so I recomend to buy this handset

  • Watch out for the burn-in display.

  • Upgraded from my Galaxy S7 to the Pixel 2 XL. I loved that phone, but I can 100% without a doubt say that the Pixel is gonna be the phone I use for years to come. It's fast, the camera is top notch, the battery life is insane, and there are so many other positives that outweigh any negatives, for me. 9/10 phone, would recommend to everybody

  • Why don't they bring back Nexus from the dead? Or at least make the price as one?

  • As I said, this phone is not worth the money. I owned this one and it doesn't satisfied me. Fast updates and camera is not enough. They give the fast update but full of bugs. Screen touches problem after Oreo update. I'm in way to sell this phone to my friend, and stick with my S7 edge.

  • This phone is embarrassing. Look at those bezels. Yes, they're smaller, but man, the Xperia XA2 Ultra has the same screen to body ratio and still looks prettier than this phone. The advantage of Nexus phones were that they were cheaper. This is $900. What? Big side bezels, no IP68, just 67, an 'all aluminium design' when it's clearly a plastic coating, a thick one mind you. NO HEADPHONES INCLUDED WITH A $900 SMARTPHONE! No SD card slot, no wireless charging. The Pixel is the last flagship of 2017 and still lacks features, and COSTS $900! I wish that Google wakes up and realize where they actually f*cked up and revive the Nexus line. Way too expensive, I wouldn't recommend this phone to almost anyone. I don't care what MKBHD and others say. The price is not justifiable.

  • This phone was so close to being perfect. Why oh why didn't Google use Samsung for the 2XL screen instead of LG?

  • Pixel XL 2. The battery on the note 8 is pretty disappointing to be honest. If you say the pixel xl 2 has poor screen I'd say go with the mate 10 pro

  • Any specific reason you are leaving the note 8

  • Iam thinking to switch to the Pixel 2 XL from my Galaxy Note 8 or maybe wait until Pixel 3 arrives? hmmm

  • The screen quality really isn’t acceptable for a flagship in this price-range. All of them have some degree of blue shift but some are a lot worse than others. There’s also graininess and black smearing. This is because Google used LG for the 2XL screen, while the regular model uses a Samsung screen without these issues.

  • Ok thank you. Are the pixel 2 xls screen problems that much of an issue and I have Bluetooth headphones so I’m not that fussed about no headphone jack

  • I’m going back to the 2XL. I love the panda model and clean Android UI. Plus it has the best camera in the business. However, the S8 is objectively better all round. It doesn’t have the 2XL’s screen issues and has that 3.5mm jack.

  • This or s8+. I use my phone for YouTube, snapchat, listening to music, instagram, Facebook, games, web browsing and taking photos

  • Pixel 2 xl or Galaxy s8+. I’m not sure as one phone strength is the others weakness, I’m struggling to decide which one is best. I use my phone a lot for YouTube, web browsing, listening to music (through speakers and Bluetooth headphones) and snapchat and take a fair amount of photos

  • If Snapdragon 835 available to have 4K display with 60fps rate, it is possible to record 4K 60fps.

  • Snapdragon 835 can't shoot 4K at 60 fps. It's a hardware limitation

  • Will it ever shoot 4k at 60 fps? Is there a hardware limitation or is the software not suited/allowing 60fps

  • If the hardware is not a prominent reason to drives a device then why we have Snapdragon 835 instead of having Snapdragon 200 for the entire life?

  • Note 8

  • Note 8

  • TL;DR

  • The main feature of Android is that it is So Open and Customizable. To whom? The basic customization of choosing between Stock Android and manufacturer based UI by the ultimate consumer is even not on the books of Android Licensing agreements. We may think of launchers. When the ULTIMATE UI that comes with the phone is a bloatware by itself, what to do with launchers. To my belief every Android mobile should be released with stock Android. It should be the wish of the consumer to choose between launchers. Many get washed away by the different hardware specs but, the basics lie in the software that drives up the device. Good Luck Google.

What do you guys think?

  • Which make this phone such a loser. Even though I owned this one, it's not worth the money. It's undeniable that Pixels camera had no match, but it's not much different with other brands such as Mate 10 Pro, Galaxy Note8, iPhone X and others. They ripped off headphone jack, microSD card slot and no double camera was a terrible idea for 900 bucks phone.

  • Nice design but lacking many features for high price. No wireless charging, no mini jack, no double camera, small battery and big bezels.

  • Google's QC team needs firing! The amount of issues with this $900 flagship are unbelievable! Awful blue tint, black smear, burn-in and now the screen flashes after it locks. And that's without getting into the issues with speakers, microphone and bluetooth/wifi connectivity. I'm sure some smartass will say he's had no issues but these problems are widely reported by many P2XL users.

  • do u have active "google OK" option? try to disable it and test for a while... some phones have same issue

  • I have issue with microphone, its not working all the time

  • I have already shifted it's awesome phone go for it

  • Nope on the settings. Did a factory reset after that, but the problem remains unsolved. Since that, I'm just using it for camera purposes.

  • Yes, around 25%! My 1+5T consumped around 13-18% for 1 hour browsing like FB, Instagram and playing music.

  • 25% is too much for an hour general use.

  • Before a factory reset, have you checked 'Battery' in 'settings' ? Perhaps a rogue app is draining battery ?

  • I am, personally going to say thank you to Google. Nowadays,we are all depending on Google for everything.... But, I would like to say that: Samsung phones are better than Google phones . Period.

  • Do factory reset, your phone will be okay. mine also has battery problem, but turn okay after reset.

  • Battery life is getting worser! Stand-by around 3 hours and it drained about 18% from 72% to 54%. Any suggestions to expand the battery life, anyone?

  • I got one and it has pretty good display, no complaint at all.

  • Got this one yesterday, so far this is superb phone! Display was great, snappy performance, the camera is the best I have ever had compared to my S7 edge, 1+5T and XZ Premium! But one thing to complaint is the battery somewhat decent. Continuous usage for 1 hour like browsing, playing music, it drained about 25%. By the way, it's not much bad either. Praise for Google for the amazing phone! :)

  • Shame about the P-OLED capacitive touchscreen which is not so good!

  • I haven't experienced any issue with my gpXL displays since a month except for the battery being draining pretty faster when using wifi. Though its expensive we are getting 2years warranty and 3yrs android updates which makesup. Google assistant is very handy. Pros: Camera, Perfomance, finger print sensor, Cons: Customisation, speaker

  • i have too, this is a shit, i hate apple, if the wheather is cold the phone turns off on 90% battery. CPU downclocked from 1400 mhz to 600... wtf apple think.

  • What is cheaper in your country Snap better for gaming Exinos better for battery I like more stock Android and dual front speaker's And Google camera but it's expensive here in Israel... I'm still with mi max 2 no point to upgrade

  • soon I' m gonna switch to Pixel Xl 2, from my slowest Iphone 6+.

  • pixel 2xl.

  • Pixel 2 XL or Note 8?

  • thanks. @tormentor @chetan @anonymous

  • I had the v30 and now pixel 2 XL which have not problem with the screen at all. Both of them are excellent just the v30 has a so too bad front camera and not a power button on side which I couldn't get on with.pixel it's also abviously faster . V30 it's definely so smaller and lighter and a proper bezelless phone looking so so nice.and also the same long battery life

  • I'm agree in total. I don't know I phone X but the pixel 2 XL is definely a so great phone under all aspects but it's very big for me. I will resist just because it's beautiful looking stunning.got it for 3 weeks and this weekend I have used it for 2 days on same charge with nearly 8 hours of screen on without using WiFi at all or switching it off..so it's definely top notch. Over all it working perfectly under all aspects but as I was coming from oneplus 5 and v30 i have to say that the only bad point is about its dimensions ,and all the other functions are better,I just loved the oneplus 5 software which always been the best ever for me but the stock one of pixel is still ok.the camera is superb and so quick..too much for me but it's a sadisfaction to have it.i have also found so very good the sound through the earphones which have a better resolution then the very good oneplus especially for its cleaner and perfect bass through my quite good in-ear ones. I have for last found the screen with not problem at all about the blue tint which is a little bit and not noticeable;i tried also to check it on a coloured wallpaper turning it over and it is just very very good.it definely must have been working like this because it's price, and it does for all just a bit big but sexy

  • @ LIRKER Pixel 2 XL all the way... Pixel 2 XL cheaper than iphone x..... Better camera both front and rear...... Good battery life than iphone x...... Back panel metal.. so no question of breaking the glass.. which will cost you around $549 on iphone x..... Two years of warranty on Pixel 2 XL... Fast charger included out of the box... not available on iphone x.. .... Unlimited storage of pics and videos full resolution upto 2020 dec...... Screen is better on iphone x.. but it's not a deal breaker....... Hence Pixel 2 XL......

  • Pixel 2 XL

  • Man you just go for Pixels phone, Pixels camera was the best camera on phones right now even Sammy and overpriced Iphone X cant match pixels camera, go for pixel 2 XL!

  • Guys, should I go for Pixel 2 XL or iPhone X?

  • Dude, No fingerprint sensor that's better than Huawei currently on the market period!

  • I bought my pixel 2xl on january 5th. Screen looked really dull out of the box when i compared it to a galaxy S6. Then I let it get updated and the screen looked better than the S6. Really love the phone and haven't had any problems with it.

  • It appears to be a lottery. Some people have RMA’d and received models with later production dates that are either the same or in some cases worse! All OLED screens have some degree of shift but the 2XL happens at the slightest angles.

  • People keep going on about the screen issues, but newer batches don't seem to have this problem. I got luck with mine and there is hardly any tint. It's the same degree as what you would find in most others with oled.

  • Is it worth buying this phone? I know that performance & camera are great but those screen issues are a deal-breaker. Some say they're "not that bad" but if I'm paying top dollar for a flagship I want better than tolerable. I don't know why Google didn't use Samsung for the 2XL screen instead of LG.

  • Nope. Just has the one nano SIM while the eSIM is only for Project Fi right now.

  • Does it support dual sim cards like Samsung note8???

  • Excellent clarity good phone my next phone Google pixel2XL

  • Not my experience. Takes less than a second to unlock.

  • I'm puzzled because the fingerprint sensor takes 1 to 2 seconds to unlock the phone and a lot of reviewers on youtube claim it's the fastest scanner which is just not true.

  • Smooth software with fast animation .(simple)

  • Same specs as Pixel 2 but with larger p-oled screen and better front facing speakers. Everything else like ram, camera is the same between the two.

  • Dear: I have a dummy question, please answer for me - Thank you very much . Is the Google Pixel 2 Xl a good phone?? ( comparing to the other)

  • Really ! Why ?

  • Google we all have huge amount of love for your cameras without the exception, but we are all looking forward at much bigger camera sensor with bigger pixels. Your 1/2.6" camera sensor in pixel 2/XL with 1.4u is awesome but if you choose 1/2" or 3/4" sensor with same 12MP camera that will be a mile stone. I'm looking forward for this to happen in my next pixel 3 XL.

  • Bullshits ...just say its your points of view ..too easy to include everyone in the world in your view

  • Finger print sensor is better than any other phone out now

  • Using this phone now for around 4 day and so far it seems to be performing well. (don't want to jinx it). Screen looks exceptional and the tint that many others are experiencing is not bad on mine at all. I would say for those of you that have this phone with severe tint issues and are able to exchange for another unit, I would do so. As there are others out there with the normal levels of tint that you would find in other phones with this screen. Now to compare this to my regular size Pixel 2. They both have the same specs except for the larger screen...Well first off, the dual front firing speakers on my Pixel 2xl sound much more punchier with the base than the regular Pixel 2 and just sounds much more high quality on the xl. Battery is fantastic and both my regular Pixel 2 and this XL hold up really well. Yesterday I played alot of music and browsed you tube and browsed Chrome and in hours I still had around 50% battery left.

  • What problems? People letting their batt to reach zero? The poopgle shitxels have had many, many issues of all kinds appart from being really ugly

  • I like the idea of this long-term review, and I am looking forward to more. The reason I value user opinions alongside authority reviews is that the user has the benefit of long-term exposure to a product that the reviewers don't. The format that this long-term review adopts by immersing reviewers in the shoes of a long-term owner brings greater context and objectivity to the review, giving potential customers the benefit of both worlds. Great idea, excellent value! Looking forward to Mate 10 Pro and V30.

  • So far I can't comment about any screen burn as I've swapped from Pixel 2 to the XL and only been using it less than a day. What I can tell you is that the blue tint on my device is hardly there, but no where near as bad as some of xl's I've tried in store. I'd say Google could have fixed the issue with newer batches.

  • I think you’re fishing.

  • The phones camera is awesome. I made a short video using the newly released AR camera... I think the possibilities are endless.... Can't wait for more...

  • ugly rounded corners smh...

  • Bigger doesn't always mean better, I would rather have something properly made from a small company than something made carelessly from a large company, hoping your logic is upto standard you can figure which is which.

  • There is not practical

  • Lol im 5'10 and i have punched the life out of people taller and stronger than me. Sony does the same, Samsung is mere marketing success, nothing innovative, everything copied. Look at the Note 8 already having problems..still a fail after all these years.

  • Samsung is better man. Samsung is the big boy in da market whether we like it or not

  • Amazing as it is, what I love the most about this phone is the accent color power button. Hope this becomes a trend for future smartphones.

  • I wish it could have the Dual sim Variant. The only thing lacking in pixel 2 .

  • It atleast can wirelessly charge... and has a headphone jack... what else does it have? - SD slot. What it doesn't have? - Bezels... Now, look at the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL :)

  • No it doesn't, stop saying Samsung is better than everything. I saw you in Sony, HTC and other pages. Go home fanboy! Samsung is garbage!

  • So glad that there is such a "sage" dispensing wisdom? On this forum, Makes you feel so humble they know why you purchased???

  • Xiaomi is for people who like to play games but don't want to spend a lot of money on a phone. S8 is for people who prefer overall deisgn and screen quality. Pixel is for people who care about the software and regular updates.

  • On paper, the mi 6 is fantastic! But real world? It leaves a lot to be desired. Those bezels ( same as pixel 2 ) in my opinion ruins the design..... The camera is to say the least dire.

  • The S8+ has a fantastic screen I must say.

  • I have the pixel 2 XL also the Galaxy S8 plus, I have the xiaomi mi 6,(yes I'm a geek) there is not that much between the S8 plus and Pixel (in my humble opinion) both have their strengths, the pixel just works.

  • Exactly.

  • So many strange errors. its a hype killer.

  • I already had S7..sold it n got OnePlus 5T. Was thinking of pixel but the raw Android UI bothers me.

  • I think it's better to get Samsung... it slaughters this phone in terms of features, even hardware...

  • Looking at getting a Pixel XL, want to know if it has a file manager already built in (like Samsung does). I don't like to use 3rd party if I don't have to.

  • Best phone ever

  • A headphone jack and wireless charging. And better screen... :)

  • I also agree that back is the ugliest design ever seen...

  • Well go with phone what has smaller bezels, headphone jack and SD slot...

  • my opinion is that this phone is way overpriced: so much better in the nexus era!

  • The screen is a real problem. No its not more true color there is very little red. For example I took photos of red leaves and they show red on my other phone as well computer but on the XL it looks brown. There is no fix and they tell you the phone is working as expected

  • The blue tint really kills this phone. You don’t even have to tilt the screen that much to see it. I also found the text quite blurry when scrolling, gave me a headache. It’s a shame because the performance and camera are top-notch.

  • Had my XL for a week. Seems very fast. Really starting to like Oreo. Very nice display although the touchscreen seems a bit sensitive and I wish it was as big and wide as my V20. I'm a large guy and I don't care for the tall, skinny look like the new Galaxy's. I like big and wide like the V20. Wish the V30 was the same size. Anyway... Still haven't tried everything on it. But did try the squeeze/google thing last night. Kind of cool but then when I looked at my white text screen it had some black areas along the left side. I saw this before on an old Droid X that I had years ago after I dropped it face down on concrete. I had several black spots that never went away. Anyway, this phone has not been dropped. In fact, for $850, it gets extremely babied. When I got up this morning the black was mostly gone but I'm still gonna take it in and get a replacement. Hope this is a one time occurrence.

  • The thing I am always disappointed about is it's back. Instead of rubber, they could use metal or even glass which some people don't prefer. The partly glass doesn't make sense. I like it's camera though, amazing camera. Sadly, Mate 10 Pro and V30 could do slightly better in some places. It's headphone jack missing is fine as many companies are starting to remove them... Can't blame Apple or Google about this.

  • 100 GB of FLAC files.

  • Can it use headphone jack and charge your phone at a same time?

  • I use the headphone jack quite a lot. But recently i have found that wireless is much more convenient. Even if you dont want to use wireless you can always keep the adapter attached to the earphones. That way you wont lose them.

  • second on this opinion...

  • It is unfortunate that Google did not give this wonderful phone a 3.5 mm headphone jack. There are still lots of People out there that use their wired headphones and having to put in an adapter first every time you want to listen to Music is very very inconveniencing not to talk of the extra weight. Google should not copy apple in this aspect. People choose Google/Android because they are not a fan of apple.

  • This is a great phone but google is trying to hard to be like apple. Like come on google, at least a headphone jack.

  • The back panel is the ugliest design I've ever seen.

  • That's Android features over the iOS. Even every Android brands should have this feature and 3.5mm headphone jack. They want to rip off iOS but they copy the iOS style, sorry to say but they just show like they're uneducated people. One more, they put away the headphone jack because there's no space to put that due to bezelless screen. While Samsung can do that, even for S Pen on the Note8!

  • Your best bet is to buy it from Singapore or through local market place

  • i like the design, it is more refined than the original pixel, which also looked amazing. i think i prefer this to the iPhone 8.

  • when this phone comes to indonesia, is there anyone knows?

  • SD card for what? Photos? Google give you unlimited storage for your photos. Music? this is 2017, no one download mp3 in a web again

  • What a ugly design. Cmon google...

  • This comment make my day lol

  • Is there any versions of pixel 2 or pixel 2 xl dual sim or not?

  • Google Pixel 2 XL when it will available at Saudi Arabia ?

  • Pixel 2 xl my phone this year

  • The letter "d".

  • Pixel 2 fo sho my man. Awesome camera, awesome performance, awesome battery. What else do you nee?!

  • I'm not a very big of no dedicated headphone jack.

  • Hands down the current BOSS of smartphones

  • Just Received an email from FK that product will be delayed till 1st Dec in India !!! I hope till then i can keep my hands off Oneplus 5t launch Event ...

  • Especially once you have the screen burn, no amount of software updates will rectify it. It then becomes a hardware issue. All this new fix does is dim the three bottom keys. Well what about the bar itself ? and the notification bar at the top. That will burn after some time.

  • Single removable sim only.

  • Is it dual sim or single sim only?

  • Nubia 17S is the phone to Buy!!!

  • I agree on the aspect ratio. Would have been nice if it was a wee bit wider, at least as wide as a Nexus 6. However, it does have headphone jack, built into the USB C plug. And it does have dual sim, one is an "eSim". Your carrier probably doesn't support it *yet* (only google "Fi" does right now), but it shouldn't take too long before you see more supported. For instance, apple uses the same kind of thing in a watch -- the one with the "leave your phone at home" advertising.

  • No microsd because.... we've moved WAY beyond that. Its not 2005 any more, there is enough flash built in to overcome. Sdcards are also hella slow compared to internal storage. No headphone jack... except the one in the USBC port, so your statement is very misleading. IP68 and 810G drop protection... well that's actually the most interesting question you asked. Fact is, this phone is essentially the same as the LG V30, which DOES have those. So why isn't it listed? Probably because the 5" Pixel 2 (HTC) didn't reach those levels. They're marketing the two phones as "the same" outside of the size, so the lesser of the two phones' specifications is the one that is advertised. Now regardless of those two characteristics, you are probably best off not TESTING them, but I think you can be very confident in the XL2 in case you do end up pushing the specifications. Why no dual camera? Because that is a complete gimmick. Why no CAT 16 LTE? Actually, it DOES have that. Its a feature of the Qualcomm MSM8998 (Snapdragon 835). Worse body screen to bezel ratio... Huh? The only thing I see with less bezel is eyeFoneX, which pays the price by adding in DUAL BLEMISHES. One realllllllly nasty one up at the top, and one not *as* terrible at the bottom.

  • I'd like to introduce you to a wireless technology called BLUETOOTH. Or you could get one of these;

  • Speaking as someone who *has owned a samsung*, I will NEVER own one again. Normally, I would be willing to give a manufacturer a second chance, since glitches happen, but the amount of INTENTIONAL sabotage that I found with the samsung is simply unacceptable. The most obvious is that they disabled a heap of security checks in the kernel build scripts to coerce their out-of-tree junk drivers to compile. It took us MONTHS to rewrite their junk drivers. Never again, they are off my list *forever*.

  • sdcards made sense when you had phones with only 256 MB flash *total* (including OS), in fact, they were downright essential. But I think that people just got used to thinking of sdcards as essential because of low-storage phones, rather than it being an actual necessity any longer. I was a bit worried about this myself when switching to a Nexus 6 when all my previous phones had sdcards, but what I realized, is that in each of those previous phones, I stuffed the sdcard into it the day I bought it, and never removed or changed it for the life of the phone, and now with 64 GB or more, I just don't have any need for additional storage. Sure, if I wanted to, I *could* fill more space, but I'm not left *wanting* more. I think that anyone who really thinks about it will realize that its just not a critical feature any longer, and in fact, the more robust water resistance you get from reducing the number of possible points of ingress is worth more than the added utility of the card.

  • Google Phone cant be the better phones until they do not offer an SD card slot... Good phone maybe, but not the better one.

  • Google phones are best in the world. Don't buy any Iphones or Samsung phones.

  • its difficult to choose, Google Pixel 2 XL or HTC U11+ ??? Please help mee

  • after owning the pixel 2 xl for the last couple days i find it amazing an would have missed out on a great phone because of the media... display ... well the blue shift my phone has it!!! but , only at a side view completely and its very soft so i guess it could vary from devices . google fixed the color saturation issue no its not as saturated as samsung but being over saturated isnt a good thing either.... pure stock android buttery smooth front facing speakers loud as hell an clear!!! no headphone jack.....hmm. well here is a thought take your favorite headphones plug in the dongle an leave it plugged in ... problem solved..... now off too solve world hunger...... its a great phone .....

  • If you are doing both front-facing dual stereo speakers, the 66dB sound was too low, at least 75dB.

  • Iphones or Samsung phones are best in the world. Don't buy any Google phones.

  • I wonder what the situation is this!? Some pixel 2 xl: "Can't find valid operating system. the device will not start." To google! Lg instead htc that was what you wanted!? Drop lg and get hmd global!

  • You should never buy a phone today based on the promise of a software tomorrow. And make no mistake: I do not believe that Google’s software changes are going to alter the experience of this screen...

  • it is obvious with mobile phones the manufacturers will not include all the features. they are in it for money so they leave out some features and incorporate them in their next new model. one could say the manufacturers are depriving us of progress. but as they say in gujarati "paiso maro parmeshwar". or in english the fundamental evil of the world arose from the fact that the god has not created enough money.

  • I feel sad for Google. This one could have been the best phone of 2017. Instead Google woes keeps getting more and more. And Apple is taking full advantage of it . I wish we had a phone with OLED screens by Samsung like S8 , audio by HTC or LG with seperate DAC by B&O , camera and OS as it is now and everything else the same ,it would have been the closest to the prefect smartphone with SD835. In fact only Google has the means and power to pull this off . But instead what went wrong no one knows. Maybe the over ambitious 43 year old CEO thought of getting some extra profit by engaging cheap OLED by LG. Anyway I wish Google luck next time . Apple will shine through 2017 without any doubt even when they sell IPhone X at Rs. 89000/- ( 1300 USD ) in my country and it is getting out of stock in 10 mins and when buyers in US are crying because it is 999$ IPhone 8 and 8 plus are already selling at 5% discount in India. Iphone X will not even give discount next year this time .There must be some fair competition is smartphone world .That will keep the price in check.

  • Had this phone for 3 days now and so far no screen burn in, it does have the blue tint when you move it off center however, Performance wise it's very fast and a solid phone otherwise. What really bugs me is the Dullness of the display. I know it's because Oreo 8.0 and Google intended it to be more true color but it sucks. The LG V30 has the Identical screen and it looks really nice when I checked it out side by side to my Pixel 2 XL, probably because LG is using Android 7.1.2 which does not have the Horrible sRGB color profile. My Nexus 6 Display made by Samsung blows this Display away in every way which is sad for a 3 year old phone. if Oreo 8.1 does not fix this dullness I am done with this phone. Dull Display is a deal breaker for me. the fault is all on me, should have waited longer to make a big phone purchase.

  • I agree with you Hemal, it's my wish too. However I want one more feature too, a basic FM receiver & if feasible a headphone jack too!

  • Hubert Satheesh I totaly agry with you.

  • @Google_Fan, Google has provided illimited storage. that's true but the trick is that this illimited storage is for a limited time. i hope i am wrong so it is wise to check and confirm on it.

  • Man... Google actually had a real chance with Pixel phones. All they have to do is undercut Samsung and Apple and they have a real winner due to their superior software.

  • Thank you for the detailed review. I'm a regular reader of your site. Regarding pixel 2 xl review, I would like to highlight few things that I beleive the review lacks. As a professional reviewer, I believe the review should get behind things and should have depth which the common man lacks or doesnt have time to look into. Regarding battery life, there is the comment that the talk time of pixel 2 xl is 7hrs short of pixel xl, though it has fared better in other endurances. The question is why and it's here I find the review misleading. The talk time has comedown not due to any inherent shortcoming of the device rather due to Oreo. I've pixel xl and earlier with nougat, the battery usage for 1hr talk time was mere 75mAh, whereas after oreo it has increased to 300mAh!! yes 4 times more and this is what has brought the talk time crashing down. I'm sure if you are to test the previous pixel, you wont be getting the class leading 34hrs, rather it would be much less than the pixel 2 xl. Wonder if an update from google could restore the previous power consumption. The other thing is, since it has an always on screen, was the test done with always on or off? Earlier I remember GSM used to give both ratings to see the difference especially for galaxies, why did it miss for this? Such trivial things are the ones that make a review standout from an average review. Hope you would update this in your forthcoming reviews. Thanks.

  • loudspeaker for voice calls is way too low.. i dont think i need stereo speakers on a phone.. i have a sony and they have stereo speakers since forever and they are nothing great to have compared to speakers on other phones.. because its just a small phone.. not a soundsystem.. this is my only down point for the pixel.. waiting for the them to test the loudspeaker on the pixel 2

  • do you know that google pixel 2 and google pixel 2 XL have feature that you can upload unlimited free google drive cloud for all your photos and videos. that mean why you need internal or external memory if you can now just walk and capture. thank you google for this feature and we hope you continue. your services and beat all other mobile phones

  • Next year google should launch Pixel 3 XL with Dual sim, 256/128inbuilt memory, latest chip, and Android P, 6inch bessless rounded Amold display, good performance camera and battery, then I will definitly buy it in next year because it having features I most like, #Dual sim#Amold 6inch display #latest fastest updates......Google to god sake you should build dual sim pixels to tame the other phone companies.........

  • One plus 5 is better than this phone

  • "Actually, since the diagonal measures on both the Pixel XL and the Pixel 2 XL are the same 6", the Pixel 2 XL's aspect ratio means the screen has to be smaller." My Pixel XL measures 5.5" diagonally. Where did you see a 6" Pixel XL?

  • Good luck with that.

  • No matter what they are keep saying about this phone, I am still not cancelling my order. The same they said about the last year Pixel, the best phone still, comparing to "blowing your eyes colours from Samsung". if you want crappy photos and 1000 apps from Samsung go for them, reality is totally different than the internet, still living with 3no. S8 fans though , and the pictures are still looking awfull(good for the ones used with make-up).

  • Yes, if all these people really know is amongst the best out there, then why not? Guessing that you're probably an Apple Fanboy yourself from that one sentence you spit out without even giving a whim of any information - unfortunate.

  • Nope. People buy Samsung because that's all they know. Just like Apple fanboys

  • iOS is for you then......

  • some user report "black smear" issue in this ...... anyone facing this issue too?

  • If you wonder why pixel is on top in camera performance: kinda wish I had such app in my phone...

  • They were never pretty to begin with in my opinion. At least the first Pixel had very few issues. This one may need a higher quality screen.

  • Oh man Apple is only copy on market. Appart for IOS they have nothing trully own. Rest is taken from other companies Mostly Samsung and Sony.

  • Oh man people buy Apple only because they dont know anything better to do with money. Apple problem is they dont make mid range devices. Maybe Appart from Iphone 5C. Any person with at least some brain would know that having a phone for 200-400 eur at most is more than enough for all it needs. Anyway more than 95% of global population just use their phones for messaging dialing internet, gaming listening music or watching videos, making photos or using camera and thats it. But like 60% or more of people over 50 of age use phones just for calls.

  • Man 4000 mAh? Apple dont have 4000 mAh in any of their phones and they selling for 900-1300 + 150 for wireless charging. Apple just copy like they did when they make IP68, Amoled, Wireless charging, 4k resolution etc. Motorola begun everything and it was first creator of cell phone.

  • Actually, since the diagonal measures on both the Pixel XL and the Pixel 2 XL are the same 6", the Pixel 2 XL's aspect ratio means the screen has to be smaller. Keep in mind that if the diagonal is the same 6 in, then a 16 : 9 screen has to have a greater area than an 18 : 9 screen, because the closer a rectangle gets to square, the greater its area. Since a square screen would be 9 : 9, and 16 : 9 is closer to that than 18 : 9, the 18 : 9 screen has to be smaller (in terms of area; in terms of dimension, it's longer and skinnier). But that's not necessarily a bad thing. Given the same computing power and dot pitch, a phone would run relatively more slowly with a 16 : 9 display than an 18 : 9 display, since the greater area would stretch the phone's graphics power over more pixels.

  • what a POS! no headphone jack? sure, an adapter.. what if you want to charge your device and listen to music next to your sleeping significant other before sleep as well? you're SOL!

  • Can't believe how ugly this pixel lime up

  • Crafty manufacturers. They just say it's 6" with 18:9 aspect ratio but they don't say the screen is actually smaller. 92.6cm2 vs the Nexus 6 97.9cm2.

  • Was so looking forward to picking this up.. Google you messed up bad with the screen .. no software updates will fix tint shifts .. back to iOS

  • not going to spend that amount on money where i can get more (like the s8+) for less. google is going the windows phone way.the sooner, the better.

  • Says the guy that can only operate a phone with one button...

  • Probably the worst phone design in existence. Exceptionally ugly and has the inferior 18:9 aspect ratio WITHOUT small bezels. Nothing can redeem such a stylistic catastrophy.

  • The pixel line up isn't a good option for many people who have say used miui/touchwiz/sense and so on they may not like it because stock android doesn't really bring extra features. However the mod community is very strong and and with that you can bring some extra features, but you know the average user isn't going to go around flashing roms and kernels.

  • but it's better and simple

  • I don't like stock android :(

  • What? Can't accept it? Up to you.

  • Can't accept the truth?

  • Try evaluating devices for their feature sets and value before getting ripped off by Google.

  • Only until 2020 will they store full resolution photos. After that they'll start optimising

  • why cant there be any phone with 2 front facing speakers, 3,5mm jack so i can use it in my car, and with 2 k screen? all the phones on the market and upcoming phones are trash.

  • u don't now anything

  • Try owning a Pixel 2 XL first then make a review

  • Ultimately, this comes down to preference. Bash Samsung all you want, but it still is one of the biggest brands around, and many people still prefer to go for a Samsung than any other brand - why is that so? Reliability & Innovation. Samsung pioneered the Note - back in the day when 5 Inch screens were considered taboos Samsung introduced the S-Pen - up to date, no other manufacturer has been able to copy that Samsung pioneered the Super AMOLED display - which is still the gold-standard of displays. Let's put it this way, before you bash away, please do your research. The Pixel 2 is by all means an awesome phone, but they took away some of the key features that are actually USEFUL. Google Drive storage is just awesome when you have the internet speed to work with it; once the lines goes down - you're pretty much stuck unless you sync it to your phone - which in turn takes it's toll on your PHONE memory - at this point, expandable storage does sound kinda cool right? So, just my two cents - don't bash unless you're absolutely certain of your facts on this matter - I've been using Samsung ever since the first Galaxy S, back when they weren't that big, and they've come a long way. Many manufacturers end up copying or "innovating" to what Samsung has done in the past. Heck, even the bloody OLED panels on the Iphone X is made by Samsung. No mean to defend Samsung over here, but I find your bashing rather pretentious and unbacked by facts - you're only attacking the physical aesthetic and software of the phone - But always remember that Pixel is stock android - and updates are fast because of that. Cheers.

  • I would pick Pixel XL2 any day over any Android phone around for one reason UPDATES. But desgin of these phones of google kinda ugly to be honest front speakers it’s done google this an old desgin iPhone 8 and mate 10 comes with stereo speakers up and down works very well might be even better than pixels front speakers and it doesn’t eat half of screen realstate and made the phone looks ugly.

  • "- HORRENDOUS SKIN LAYER... Why?" "- Expandable storage stinks" "- Samsung OS - Looks ugly on their FRONT panel (just my opinion)" I'm sorry? You sure about yourself? First time I've ever heard about these. You really want to bashing Samsung using your nonsense reason. "- Headphone jack... Meh, I move with technology and wireless is the future. Plus there is an adapter if you want wires.." Again, not all 'future' inventions is the best. Most of people don't practically using wireless headphones. But if it has headphone jack, it would be advantage to this phone.

  • "- Expandable storage stinks - Headphone jack... Meh, I move with technology and wireless is the future. Plus there is an adapter if you want wires.." I hope you're just joking.

  • - Samsung, LOCKED w/ KNOX - Samsung, more locked BOOTLOADERS - HORRENDOUS SKIN LAYER... Why? - Samsung Slow OS updates - Samsung Slow Security updates - Expandable storage stinks - No free Gogle Drive Storage - Samsung OS - Looks ugly on their FRONT panel (just my opinion) - Headphone jack... Meh, I move with technology and wireless is the future. Plus there is an adapter if you want wires..

  • The updates are tracked through your Google account; therefore the OTA updates are global. I suggest you contact Google (with a live person) to confirm this.

  • Which ever country you are, you shall receive updates.

  • With Google Phones, they promised that it will have 3 years of guaranteed software updates. However, lets say I purchase the phone in the United States and decide to live in another country a year later. Are the software updates Global? Or is it only country or region specific? Please help, I am really interested in this Phone. Thank you in advace!

  • Check your damn facts. All Google Pixel phones get unlimited backup to Google Photos with original, full resolution. 4k, 16+MP, you name it dumbass. It's one of the perks of buying a Pixel.

  • You can look on Aircrackng post below. Or I can explained to you Google Pixel 2 XL Price around 900EURO * No headphone jack * No IP68 rating (But IP67 is great though but better with IP68) * No microSD card slot * Looks ugly on their back panel (just my opinion) Compared to S8 / XZ Premium Price around 600-700 EURO * Has heaphone jack * Has IP68 rating * Expandable storage with microSD card * Great and beautiful design on back panel (just my opinion) I think Samsung and Sony does a great job on making their flagships phone while they still provided with some features that nowadays most flagships phone doesn't have it especially on headphone jack and microSD card slot.

  • That's actual bullshits Google assured unlimited storage until 2020 with the original size and quality of any pixel photos or videos. Even after 2020 you will maintain any photos or videos already saved on the drive storage and only the new one will have the "optimise" dimensions.

  • Just wondering if this support MHL (Mobile Hi-def Link)? And what's the best USB-C HDMI adapter? Please help and greatly appreciate it. Mahalo.

  • is this phone coming in Denmark ?

  • can i ask why ??

  • Can't understand wth is philosophy's reason of two different color on the back!? Y gigolo !? huh :(((

  • Biggest fail ever made from Google

  • 128gb storage still you need SD cards along with Google drive , unlimited storage of pics and videos ? Are u gonna save world population database in ur phone ?

  • Now I know.

  • pixel phones will never have sd card slot

  • Both the Galaxy Note 8 and LG V30 have major benefits over the Pixel 2... this is a pretty misfortunate device considering everything... especially for the price... Why no Micro SD... Why no headphone jack? Why not ip68 certification like the rest of its competition or even MIL STD 810g like the v30? Why not a dual camera like other flagships? Why not further future proofed CAT 16 LTE like its competition? Worse body screen to bezel ratio than its rivals... It's not that it's a total disappointment it's still a great phone but... it should be leading the pack not following. They could have done even better.

  • It's also worth noting that googles "unlimited" storage for photos and videos limits the quality... if you are storing 4K video it will use up your free gb's of cloud storage fairly quickly... unlimited is only for their "optimized" i.e. Degraded quality versions of your photos and videos and It limits photos to 16 megapixels and videos to 1080p anything larger uses actual storage and will require payment to expand your personal clouds storage.

  • Better than the original Pixel XL: bigger battery, better internal storage options, better processor. However, ugly elongated 18:9 aspect ratio, and lost the headphone jack. Still lacks dual sim, dedicated sd card support, slimport support, IR blaster, FM radio (requires the headphone jack as antenna). Therefore, it still does not stand out from among all other SD 835 flagships. No unique selling proposition other than stock Android updates and that Google logo. Like the original Pixel phones, this Pixel 2 XL and the smaller Pixel 2 will both repeat the miserable sales of the original Pixel phones. Google never learns that it cannot be like Apple. Good luck, Google. Hope you can reach 1 million Pixel 2 XL phones before the Pixel 3 XL arrives.

  • google must learn , what is marketing myopia ?

  • Just waiting far qulcome quick charge 4+ charging speed test from 0-100%

  • Good and bad -Good -bezels less desgin -Oled display -Rear camera DXO mark 98 rating points higgest ever -Front stero speakers -ip67 dust and water resistant -64GB model base variant -Stock android 8.0 smooth experience -Big 3520mah battery Bad -Still bezels are slightly thick compare to iphone X ,LG V30,S8+ and note 8 -No headphone jack -Way to costly should be $700

  • Price is very high for google phone. Same lik iphone.

  • its 3520mAh, more than the pixel 1 had which does a fine job with battery lol

  • best option Samsung Note 8

  • Useless phone of google.6 inch screen with 3200 battery.this is shame .no body gona buy the google.

  • Google really played themselves by mocking the headphone jack removal last year. But everything's heading to wireless in 2 years time every thing will be Bluetooth so it's not too much of an issue more just an early inconvenience.

  • R.I.P headphone jack Probably next year all Company's will ditch the headphone jack soit will extinct in 2k18. 2019 for sure there will be none left lol.

  • I think the price it pretty high. google product is good but considering the price it's not good.

  • HTC did the first pixel line and this one too.

  • Which company made Google pixel 2 xl and Google pixel 2?

  • Cmon guys, really waiting the battery test of this phone

  • its free

  • As i wanna info that.. Is this dual sim or single sim..

  • I've got a USB C thumb drive that rotates around into a USB A. Transfers files quite fast and reliably. It would be awkward to leave in 24/7, but it certainly comes in handy and works well with my Nexus 6P, Pixel C, Chromebook Pixel, and should work well with my Pixel XL 2 once it arrives.

  • Did DCI-P3 make much different compare normal color screen like RGB? Explain please? Because I still cant understand

  • What happens to cloud storage after the time period expires (3 years it seems)? Do you have to pay Google for monthly storage after that (like you do with the free Google account that you have for gmail/blog/photos/etc if it goes above the free limit)? Does anyone know if Google gives free storage for LIFETIME during the period it advertises as free?

  • I agree with u

  • Sure its not as easy as ejecting an sd card but it does have usb 3.1 and it's not like most people leave everything on the sd card so transfering from the phone to a hardrive takes the same amount of time. Plus if your taking enough 4k video in a day to fill 20+ gb i don't think a phone is what you want.

  • why there is no 3.5 audio jack in the phone

  • Are you mental?

  • It's worth bringing up the sd card , sure cloud is fine for the odd happy snap , However if you take 4k videos for any length of time , the files can be large , and should you want to transfer those files quickly from one device to another , cloud just does not cut the mustard .

  • Good camera but ugly design

  • If there is a huge fail the only one is iPhone 8 8 plus 3 years the same look.

  • LG left Baltic market, does it mean we wont get pixel 2xl?

  • It seems easier to back up using OTG in the end. Cloud backup heavily relies on your broadband speed, and presence of wi-fi router nearby. Both of these are not always found in typical household. Also you may need storage to save other media not just photos. Music files for example, which should be available locally at all times. Having local external storage is always an advantage. With the amount of SD cards produced, it's no wonder some of them would fail, same with hard drives. Still for every broken SD card, at least hundred of perfectly working ones balance the equation.

  • I love it.

  • complete copy of apple. hahahaah Expensive too. gl google.

  • i have had an SD card fail on me so i would most likely call cloud storage safer. I think you are missing the point of cloud storage. You don't need to have internet connections all the time. Just back up all your pics when you are on Wi fi and when your device storage is near full you can just delete old pics without worrying what you should keep or not. And to be honest 128 gb seems more than sufficient for any normal use.

  • I was looking for a new phone to replace my 4 year old Note 3. As I love the big screen (5,7"), I wanted something as large. I did get OnePlus5 witch is 5,5" and I am loving it. Considered Note 8 and was thinking about Pixel XL2 as well but considering the price difference and that all the new large phones have 18:9 aspect ratio, where the size difference compared to 5.5 is not that pronounced, it is hard to justify the extra cost for the same hardware. Don`t really understand while phablets have dropped the 16:9 ratio. Note 3 was peferct size, easy to type. Note 8 with 6,3 is pretty much the same width as my Oneplus 5, offering no advantage of not getting your thumbs dangled when trying to type really fast. What is the benefit of a very high display, beats me. For the price, get a OnePlus 5 - a great great phone.

  • Hope the price still not up when go to asia or cambodia. Really love pixel 2 xl waiting for arriving.

  • No cream-on-the-top cloud offer EVER beats local storage. Especially on a phone where you pay for every transmitted MB. Not to mention necessity for always active internet connection.

  • Well Google phones never had micro SD cards so i don't know why even bring it up. Plus unlimited storage on the could is pretty sweet. As far as 3.5mm jack goes, that i agree with you. Unnecessary omition to say the least.

  • No actually the bezels on iPhone X are much thinner.

  • Had nexus 5x ,first display went off replaced it under warranty, then came the dooms day after the update "boot loop",warranty lapsed on july , lg not bothered to repair the mobile. guess i just paid a hefty sum of money to a valuable paper weight. now again google has teamed up with lg for pixel 2 xl ... may god be with the pixel 2 xl customers.

  • Your forgot to add "in my opinion".....! Jeez, those bezels are large, seriously..? Where did you think those speakers should be placed? I don't see anyone forcing you to buy it, there is always the iPhone X with those bezels all around the edges.....wow, those bezels are also too large!

  • Let's see here. No microSD slot and no 3.5mm socket. Pass

  • If you look the pixel 2 then the bezels are huge. Especially as the Pixel 2 is (145.7 x 69.7 x 7.8 mm) and Pixel 2 XL is (157.9 x 76.7 x 7.9 mm). But well i don't care much as i don't have a need to buy my self a phone that cost more then 250 euro anyways.

  • The Design is ugly. And look at those bezels they are large

  • ... only reason i can see your comment being valid is if by "mainstream consumer", you mean the iSheep that are Apple die-hards and believe everything they say is true and that their phones are always miles ahead of (instead of behind) any Android phone.

  • As Tech Altar once said: "I would much rather have one camera that works well than two that don't, ehem *ss*nt**l." :D

  • Get a white case. Problem Solved. It'll offer your $1000+ phone more protection as well.

  • I've need to 1Tb of ROM! Thank you

  • I'm with you man

  • Release Oct 2017, Camera is of 2015 model phones, and still has NO SD slot. IMHO - Still a crap phone, considering all available Hardware options.

  • Am sure that, that the only lack of pixels is: iOS 11.1

  • not a single mainstream consumer would choose this over a galaxy S8

  • You can always get a DBrand Skin on your phone, and change the color.

  • I was eligible in August for an upgrade, but I waited for the Google Pixel XL 2. I am now severely disappointed. I do not want a 2 color phone, I want a white phone. I do not understand why it is so difficult o get a white phone. I considered the black and white but then it had that hideous orange button. I thought get a case to cover the button, but if I do that I will see only the black top and the front that is black. What is the point of what they have done with the colors? Why is the xl 2 only offered in black or black and white? It should be in offered at least in the same colors as the pixel 2. Why did they randomly decide to put an orange button the phone? Some thing make sense for logistics but color choices are not one of those for me.

  • lol! exactly!

  • It is pointless and useless to make the camera good when your first impression when u look at the smartphone makes u cringe. Some will say "Discover the inner beauty". Yes, it is true, but most consumers would not want to use and hold a smartphone that looks like a cyborg from the back. I wonder who they hire for the designer this year, because its predecessor even though there are bigger bezels, the design is more pleasing, with no cyborg look from the back

  • That was just GSMArena's erroring

  • When all the phones will look like S8, V30, Iphone X, and so on..all the hipsters will buy this kind of phones. Because human mentality.. at some point in the future everybody will say, looking at an infinity display phone: "What an ugly looking phone". So, welcome to the world where everybody is pleased with nothing..

  • I agree 100%, that's one of the reasons I'll to using my iPhone.

  • I agree with you 99%!

  • I would of done the same thing.

  • I think the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are silly and pointless.

  • I puked when they showcased this monstrousity, and shat when the backside showed up....

  • Apart from these: super high price, lack of SD card or 3.5mm Jack headphones and... I don't like back panel

  • It CoMes WITH 64 / 128gb of internal storage ,do we realy need more?

  • Probably do not need the slot. plenty storage on board and you get unlimited google storage

  • Did you not see "(there's no SD card slot for later expansion)" on the article?

  • S8 without stupid edge display? I'd like it.

  • Both phones don't have a SD Card slot.

  • hahaha i totally agree!!!!

  • According to wired.com in an article printed yesterday October 4th if you buy the 64GB version you get an SD slot. For the 128GB, no. I admit it sounds like an odd thing to make two designs of the same model but that is what the writer claimed. Many reviews are claiming a great phone with a lot of new, coolish features. True, no headphone jack and that sucks for those that like one. I like the aluminum case. I think the phone is ugly but I always buy a case for my phones and they are usually even uglier. Ha. I don't give a hoot about whether a phone has skinny bezels or not. Actually, I prefer a bezel so I can hold my phone without fingerprinting the screen or opening an app. But there is no way I will buy this phone. Not even for $400. I hate this new trend towards skinny phones. They are not practical for someone who surfs the web through a browser in the desktop mode. And I hate side scrolling to see an entire page. Nor do I give a crap about being able to use a phone with one hand. I wonder if that is why so many people drop their phones? These things are not phablets they are just tall skinny phones. My next phone will be something from Xiaomi or Huawei. They know what a phablet really is. Something to replace your phone and tablet leaving you with one device.

  • What did Google think!!?? The designs are truly ugly

  • What an ugly design ever.. Yakhhhh... :-\

  • The pixel 2 xl design is an improvement from the previous one. What is clear is Google designers ignored competition. If the didn't they would pushed further boundaries. This phone falls short compared to S8, G6, Mi mix 2 from design perspective. Otherwise well done

  • True, the back body on Pixel 2 is really looks like cheap phone design like ehem Redmi 3.

  • The spec of pixel 2 xl seems not so attractive to me. Oneplus 5 still good in term of spec except the camera

  • One plus 5 is much better phone for lower price.

  • yes no 3.5mm jack, there is only one usbC port you will also get a dongle out of the box for connecting aux or regular headphones

  • Type-C to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter

  • inb4 smart$$ attacks use an adapter

  • no 3.5mm jack?

  • Idk why other people say the design improved, but for me, it got worse. Its predecessor design is much better and beautiful. I like the front of this phone, but the back? It disappoints me, if I have my first look on the smartphone without using it, the first question I will ask is "Why is the back uglier?" And if I look at the smaller variant it definitely got worse. Its predecessor design is more rounder than this successor's small variant, which looks better. I know the camera is "top-class" level for me, but for the looks it is a no no. They did better with its predecessor, and I have no idea how they made such a design this year

  • So no headphone jack on the pixel what next the pixel 3 will be running ios whatever when its released

  • Best Phone Ever....!! but could have been better with- 1) duel sim slot 2) SD card slot 3) 3.5mm audio jack missing.(I wonder why the big brands are killing 3.5mm audio jack, brands should stop copying other brands with bad innovation. One cannot give an excuse that removal of audio jack is for making phone water resistant as Samsung has done that without compromising the audio jack.) #NOTE- stop killing audio Jack

  • Sorry but There is not software support for Samsung devices in the near future if you want to updated android then ignore Samsung and go for Google Pixel

  • this phone sucks, better is LG V30

  • so expensive :(

  • Am I the only one who don't like Pixel? Samsung and Apple are very good looking phones than pixel. They need to change the design.

  • What's the point when there is no 3.5mm jack? There are plenty of other Androids that have the jack so needs to choose this jackass phone? Android users are not like Apple customers and they have plenty of choice so when will manufacturers learn that?

  • I'm always charging and listenign to music at the same time at work. How should I do that in the future? Expensive dongle that supports both? No fucking way. Stop being a fanboy, removing the jack is a anti-consumer step with only money in mind. Theres NO reason to do it

  • That is one ugly looking phone, it's like a fridge. LOL!!!

  • Better off flashing a S8+ with stock

  • Looks like a LG G6, Galaxy S8 and iPhone copycat, why is bezelless design with curved screen corners trending anyway, and now Google copying Apple's removal of headphone jack. There is no variety of smartphone left they all starting to look like one another or at least trying to copy multiple brands and make into one device.

  • Display corners like Samsung s8 copy

  • I ordered my xl today can't wait!!!!!I love my 1st generation can't wait for the second whoohhooo

  • Great phones has 3.5mm headphone jack like Nokia 3310(2017)

  • Stop crying folks! It's a great phone! If you want BETTER screen, dual sim, expandable memory, then go for Samsung galaxy s8 or s8+. I still bet you, no one can give you this experience of android like this phone will. As for the headphone jack, there is a dongle to 3.5 mm jack included in the box. keep that dongle plugged to your headphone. That's it! The quality of audio via tha usb c port is great. It's really really good! Go buy a LG smartphone with that UGLY UI if you can't handle a dongle, or if you can't buy an earphone with usb c ... And yeah, pixel phone had a great camera! iPhone or any other phone can't make up to the quality of images which nexus and pixel devices produced. Use it before you complain about it. Chill folks! Google rocks!

  • So basically they made LG V30 but without headphone jack and wireless charging. Stock android is the only thing better with 2 XL.

  • "IP67 certified - dust/waterproof to 1 meter and 30 minutes" the only thing IP68 does better than IP67 is that it can be submerged deeper by half a meter but still up to 30 mins (only).

  • But it does have waterproofing? IP67. I don't get the complaining about it not being IP68. Who cares if it can be submerged in 1.5 m as opposed to 1 m? Is everyone swimming with their phone in their pocket? Never heard anyone down this intentionally?

  • no sd card, no wireless charging, no 3.5mm jack, no waterproof...no way in hell am i paying that much for a sub-par phone. i'd rather get a samsung note8,v30 or the best lot of them all, the nokia 8. google, no one likes to pay an exorbitant price for non-expandable memory (well maybe except the iDiots) and not one like to pay for data which that have already paid for because of the 128gb memory ...i mean come on, you really think you have 128gb worth of data space in there??? jus concentrate what you do best, improving android, you clearly have no business making phones and will just fade away like the windows phone. save yourself some billions and use it where it actually matters.

  • Will it be released in Asia, regarding in PH? No dual sim? Wut??

  • google should make the 5" pixel looks like this as well

  • During launch Mario said "We don't set aside better features for the larger device". The differences I see between the two are just bigger screen (5" vs 6") and higher screen resolution (FHD vs QHD). Does that justify Google to charge an extra $200 just for these?

  • Because the is stereo speakers

  • Google, why is there no wireless charging, expandable memory, and headphone jack? these should be the basics must haves before introducing extra features. Why do you limit the features that should have been to there in the first place.

  • GOOGLE why why why don't put DUAL sim

  • no memory card slot, its very disappointing for me.

  • the best display ever, amazing contrast ratio

  • This rounded screen corners look so bad. You are missing the point that a lot of people likes a design with sharp edges.

  • The Good: Great camera (DXO) The rest makes it a No go - No SDcard; No headphone jack; Awkward crazy "trendy" 2:1 display ratio.

  • F@#$ you Google no headphone jack

  • It's fine to complain about the missing headphone jack and microSDcard slot because those are missing technology that most people actually "use", but to complain about "bezels"? darn. the item was a smartphone btw, not a piece of accessory just to show off the design.

  • Iphone style sides bezel.

  • "the bezels are too big" Really?

  • C'mon man it is a fair trade-off for a stereo front-facing speaker. That extra mm of length to the bezel won't change the experience of using a pixel. Honestly IMO having no bezel is extremely uncomfortable since my fingers come into contact with the phone screen constantly, so having that "dead zone" is nice since I can relax my hand. In the end, it is still your opinion as it is your money and you should have 100% say in what phone you are getting. Still, try to understand why the needed the extra space around the screen.

  • What i like Screen and Display Stock Android Fast update support Good fingerprint placement What i dont like No dual sim or micro SD slot Ugly back body design What i dont care 3.5 mm jack

  • No SD card, no headphone jack and no dual camera for 900?! No thanks

  • No SD hardware backup, doomed.

  • so, the front facing stereo speakers only in the smaller one not in the XL, isn't it?

  • Get a v30 then

  • This is weird! This phone is very practical with couple of features which might be deal breakers for the others yet they didn't follow the last two year's tend: Dual camera Bezel less screen (small bezels for front facing speakers are forgiven) I guess this is phone with great software optimization, the issue is that those who look at it that way are the ones who will eg install Lneage OS after 3 years, which may not be that optimised!

  • No 3.5mm audio jack? no FM? Google you hired 2000 HTC bitches ROFLMAO.

  • Pffft what a big lie out there Its 157mlm body which is standard 2016 flagship size

  • go play Hearthstone

  • well to me it's almost better than LG V30 because of that stereo speakers, but there is no 3.5mm audio plug neither FM radio. RIP.

  • I think the 76% STBR is a mistaken.

  • will get you through a day. the processor is efficient and so is google s/w

  • Thing is google will never adopt SD because they firmly believe Onboard storage alone is better for performance which i kinda agree with honestly

  • Bad pricing, missing headphone jack, perennial issue of not having SD card slot, Using DxO mark to create camera hype even before it starts shipping..... almost every DxO mark phone review came after the phone started shipping but for last year's and this year's pixel, which went live with announcements of the phone which has a good month to hit the shelves..... Extremely dubious tactics by google. Can't believe they killed jack for stereo speakers, you can't listen using those at work or in commute, at home most have regular speakers, as long a single speaker is loud and clear enough to let me know about incoming call, wake me up in the morning, and i can clearly hear on speakerphone during call, it's fine, end of utility of speakers on a mobile phone right there for most of us. Wonder What's next innovation?? Ohh let's remove usb slot for a sub woofer in a phone now, coz you know we can use wireless charging anyways why the h e ll you need usb port will be the rant by these companies?? I d i o t s!!! all of them....

  • Amen to that..... Exactly my feelings.

  • Things I like : Screen Camera Ui / OS ( Stock Android ) Things I don't like No Headphone jack Design No Sd card Google could've donne better I actually considered the 'old' Pixel but I wanted an Processor from this year. So LG V30 here I come !

  • Terrible screen to body ratio for a tall display. Why are the bezels so much thicker than the LG V30? Side bezels are thicker than last years Pixel XL...

  • Oh boy, this is huge! Why Google, why?? :( The Pixel 2 has small display, yet it is a big device.

  • It's the best, top of the line

  • Before Google unveiled the Pixel 2 this page said it had a headphone jack, that's why I was hyped but not anymore.

  • Such an unoriginal design in regards to the display. Everyone seems to love the "bezel-less" tall display and the rounded corners, but I'm already sick of it. Also why is the software getting more and more disoriented looking? This new "pixel" look is just so appalling compared to good ol' Material Design. And seriously, we consumers need to do something about companies removing the headphone jack. We need to create an online petition, or even go to Google headquarters and protest.

  • LG V30 beats these specs in my opinion. Things the V30 has but the Pixel 2 (XL) doesn't. -SD card slot -Headphone jack (+Quad dac) -IP68 (Pixel 2 is IP67) - 13 MP camera with wide angle camera lense (The normal lense is 16 MP instead of 12 on the pixel 2) -Thinner and ligher than the pixel 2 XL Things that are a little better on the Pixel 2 is launch with Oreo, V30 will get that later. Front facing camera is only 5 MP on the V30, 8MP on the pixel 2. Stereo front facing speakers, just mono on the V30. Pixel 2 XL 3520 mAh, V30 3300 mAh. Otherwise the performance specs should be pretty similar, also take into account that the V30 is $/€/£ 40 Cheaper at launch compared with the Pixel XL.

  • bad battery only 3500 :)

  • you can use google drive

  • as an android app developer I have just one question - do you really think you need 6 GB RAM? I know you don't. even my computer during app debugging and testing use only 2 GB and you can use only one app per time (yes, since nougat you can split screen and use two apps, but it's not the same) and apps in background don't need so much RAM as you think. I haven't seen apps that use more than 2 GB at time, never even made it. phone is great and it has enough of RAM.

  • No sd card SMH. The only thing missing is the SD card.

  • my next phone. By-bye stupid samsung.

  • Since it supports nano sim & eSIM, does it technically make it a dual sim phone?

  • No, it's quite better judging by the photo samples and DxOMark. Even now last year pixel has one of the best cameras atm, and this one claims to be much better.

  • No 3.5mm jack? I really dont understand why everyone is skipping it. Is there any real technical explanation why they are doing it? Some will debate why cant you get a bluetooth headset. Have already tried out many of them and none of them can come close to a good wired headset. If they come out with a bluetooth version of the Sennheisser HD650 which sounds as good as the wired one, maybe I will look - still I will have to shell out hundreds of dollars to get the same experience I already have with me. V30, here I come.

  • I am glad I haven't waited for this phone and bought something else. Google made a huge mistake by abandoning nexus line and its f/p policy. This phone is by far the ugliest in the market when compared to the other new devices. Not to mention crazy price tag too. I know google won't read this but they should undo their mistake of abandoning nexus philosophy and at least decrease that insane price for the start. Otherwise, I am sure they were in loss with pixel sales and I am sure it will be the same picture with the pixel 2. Not that they are in need of money ofc. Just an ex-nexus user giving humble opinions.

  • Awesome, too bad I can't afford it.

  • if i am not mistaken google pixel 2 has unlimited google photo storage space for all photos and videos. There is no point they are making the phone for 256 gb

  • i m sure camera quality of pixel XL 2 is same like other dual camera flagship devices ????

  • display is poled made by lg

  • shut up and time my money! is simple and will work for me! take that iphone pupy 8 and X trash!

  • Google's strategy is to force you to use google drive for additional storage...not sure who at google thought that it'd be a great idea... :/

  • Another flope device from Google after pixel 1. Can't believe how bad/ugly it looks from front. Steep price going to kill it further.

  • lame design ever.. looks like a Chinese toy phone..

  • LG V30 camera or Pixel 2 XL camera?

  • If Google teams up with a losing company like HTC this is going to be the end result.

  • My only discrepancy is no Micro SD, only 4GB of RAM, plus 64GB and 128GB storage options, seriously? This is 2017, Google....your competitors are not only matching you on all these specs and then some, but selling there phones for $150-200 less! This phone should have Micro SD, 6GB RAM, and if no Micro SD, 256GB storage option. In the era of HD everything, digital files of every type are getting larger and larger because of 4K video, lossless audio files, and high res photos, people need more storage!

  • they already have the best camera on the market

  • no ois? again!!

  • Mobiles are coming with Dual Camera now. Why this one single only?

  • Dislike

  • No....4 GB RAM is enough, i don't know if this Google pixel have 3.000 mah battery, it Is enough.

  • lol no IP protection ? fail

  • $1300 Canada dollars? Umm... I'll pass and buy beer...

  • Google Pixel XL 2. Designed by LG Electronic. Screen by Samsung. Chipset by Qualcomm.

  • Hi Bob, Google has actually removed the headphone and those rumors have proven to be true

  • Get yourself a Samsung Tab S3 and then get even bigger screen with the new 12.7 inch Ipad. Google has made a very good phone so stop complaining

  • Too expensive and too lacks like this: 3.5mm Jack...

  • That is one ugly device

  • if they really wanted to compete with other flagship phones, they should've increased the smaller model to have 6gb of ram, 8gb for their Xl model. In terms of specs, the oneplus 5 is just as good but way more ram. Only downside to the oneplus 5 is the camera with its weird electronic image stabilization. They should've gone with an optical stabilized camera or a camera similar to the Asus zenfone 3 deluxe where it uses a 3 axis in-body stabilization which is better than OIS.

  • Hey don't compare to Google ur mi max is Chinese stupid brand its us company pure android .....if u need go for Korean or china handsets and tablet bcoz u ask I.g big size screen Google is gud phone mind it..... Bfr u compare to other's brand mobile u have to think which brand ur compared..??

  • too bad only 4GB RAM

  • Agree man. Previous model was much better

  • lol? xdddddddddddddd

  • get a tablet lol

  • 6 inch is too small i have mi max 2 6.44 inch so i want a bigger screen like 6.8-7.0inch bezel less will make it right to hold for some small hand users

  • The back of the smartphone makes me cringe and the fact that it is their new successor, the design looks worse. I prefer the older one even though the bezels are kind of big, it looks more beautiful than this

  • Again good specs but for a high price and the phone looks ugly as marsh or swamp.

  • Why 1300$ ? Pricing has been rumored to be 849/949 USD for 64/128 GB variants. That would mean 1059 to 1099 CAD price range for 64 GB variant, in line with iPhone 8+ pricing. I don't expect the 999 USD / 1299 CAD we're seeing for Note 8, iPhone X, etc... CAD is 0.80 USD versus 0.74 USD last year same time. 2 days to go and we'll know :)

  • Too small! Make mine 6.8 inches and bezeless.

  • I just know it will cost over $1300 outright in Canada and that's just too much for me...I want to keep my current $40/4gb plan forever... That being said I'll aslo wait until both models are made by HTC next year and see how they look. I've never been an LG phone fan. Maybe the Mate 10 series will be more affordable.

  • Is LG making the Pixel 2XL? If so, I won't buy it. Too many issues with the LG V and G series. Will go with ASUS.

  • Pretty sure it will be 64GB/128GB for memory options

  • What's your source? All we've seen are *rumors* so far if I'm not mistaken.

  • Their headphone jack will be available through usb-c in order to make the phone more water resistant.

  • $850 usd... About $1150 cdn to buy... Ouch... Kinda surprised but not... Too bad...

  • The preview videos said no headphone jack. This says yes. No headphone jack is a deal breaker for me. Anyone got the official scoop on that?

  • No FM Radio Chip???

  • That's just China trying to make a profit. Those cases are unofficial and unlicensed by Google. Anyone can design an item and sell on the internet.

  • Jack or no jack?

  • There won't be headphone jack, but a adapter instead.

  • There won't be headphone jack, but a adapter instead.

  • "3.5mm jack: Yes" I LOVE THIS PHONE!!!!!!

  • Thats a picture of the first pixel. They don't have a picture of the second because its not announced yet

  • Because that is a picture of pixel xl not xl 2

  • looks fugly

  • I am reading on other sites 64gb base, 6gb ram and snapdragon 836 and no 3.5mm jack

  • According to Anaylst and Engineers, who dont need 6 gigs of ram for a smartphone. Yoyr phones lags because of lack of Good Quality Processor. And 4 gigs of ram for Pixel is great because it does not uses any new UI specifically. This phone will definitely set a benchmark.

  • unless you are camping with no signal, or in a building with no signal or on a cruise ship with no signal...

  • most people stream their music now, even over cellular networks, so doubtful they go this high on space. also, currently it says 3.5MM jack "yes", but this is likely to change to a "no" if the device comes with bluetooth headphones, which is now being rumored.

  • yes and the 6 g of ram would be nice.

  • I also think they came out too soon last year. there were too many issues. hopefully that won't be the case this year. I can't wait to hear reviews. They need a 256gb phone. more room for all my music.

  • agreed, but i fear to late as apparently HTC is making both models... i dont want this feature or want to pay for it...

  • I like what I see so far. I'm still driving my Nexus 6 without any issues. So if and when I replace it, I'm hoping that Google makes better use of the real estate. I would like to see near bezel-less design. I'd also like to see minimum 6" screen and a base of 64GB storage. Quick story, my charging port on my Galaxy S3 went bad. Had to buy a second battery and a stand alone battery charger and swap batteries when dead. Huge pain! Nexus 6 has wireless charging built in. Pixel phones must-haves: wireless charging. Hope to see reliable leaks and renders soon.

  • No 6GB ram...???? Some other phone already have latest RAM.. I wait this to announce the lunching time

  • Please don't squeeze the Pixel.

  • Squeezable frame sounds like crap and gimmicky... I wudnt want to pay extra for this feature...

  • I almost forgot! - Google Android 8.1 OS Q4 2017 release date The Google Pixel XL 2 model supposed too be a premium device! But the Pixel 2 less specs affordable device!

  • Rumors on Google as of August 1 Google Pixel 2 XL (LG) made - Snapdragon 836 - 6GB RAM (2XL) (Pixel 2 has 4GB) - 128GB UFS v2.1 - 6" QHD OLED (LG) made, always on display (5" FHD Pixel 2 HTC) - Gorilla glass 5 - Squeezable chassis - 3650 mAh battery As for the removal of the 3.5mm jack ...Amazon.com has Pixel 2 XL cases for sale already, I you look at all of them you will notice the hole for the 3.5mm jack if that means anything??

  • From the most recent rumors, it'll have an 18:9 aspect ratio 6.0" QHD display, with the SD 836 CPU, 4gb of RAM and front facing speakers. I really hope that's true, and that the rumors about not having a 3.5mm headphone jack FALSE. Will probably be my next phone.

  • I have a gently used Samsung GS2 if you want those things. Welcome to 2017.

  • 1. No removable battery 2. No SD card slot ? = FAILURE

  • Thing is the back doesn't look like much but i'm liking it over that of the G6, which i think looks plain and boring, same for the LG UI. Loving the 6" display on the Pixel 2 XL as well. Might wait it out till October for an upgrade replacement for my G3 and hope it is out by then. Was awaiting the Xperia XZ premium but doesn't look like it's coming to Canada.

  • No way it has an SD card slot...sorry...

  • Although most probably not, but hopefully it will include an SD slot this time. Plus, 64GB as standard.

  • I just hope it's under $1200 USD... Price guesses anyone?

  • can't wait to buy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Would love to buy this phone... But no sd card slot = no go for me... sorry Google

  • I'm in the US and can live without a dual SIM card slot, but Miracast is a must so that I can mirror whatever is on the phone's screen onto a Sony KDL-48W650D HDTV. Casting of videos from YouTube and such and Chrome browser tabs doesn't interest me, just Miracast mirroring of the full screen image. Also on my personal list of mandatory requirements is a microSDXC card slot, especially one that supports cards up to 256 GB or 512 GB in capacity. I really don't care if the phone is waterproof (IP whatever). Merely being splash proof and dust proof is good enough for me.

  • I've been waiting for a proper replacement for my Nexus 6 since Google stopped sending security updates at the beginning of this year. I'm enough of a Google purist that I'd rather use my still-awesome phone until it finally dies than have a phone that uses manufacturer software (S8 Note 7, etc). These specs remind me of, well, my Nexus 6, so I'm totally psyched!

  • Why 1 sim??????????????????????????????

  • "Splash and dust resistant" any idea if this will have an IP rating?

  • This phone is rumored so long i really dont believe it will ever be released.

  • 4GB of Ram is ok, until 8GB arrives. The phone needs SD836 like the Note 8 not SD835, a 6" display, and no dual-tone paintwork.

  • And perhaps a trendy dual camera setup as well.

  • And better with a 6GB RAM as standard.

  • Hopefully it will include an SD card slot, small as possible bezels (& D opposite), big as possible battery.

  • 1/2.3 is relatively "large" sensor, so probably it will have a better camera than s8 and u11

  • Switching from one carrier to another with one sim? Since when was that feature available to users worldwide apart from the very small percentage of US users? As for battery life, 4000mAh or larger should be the standard in phones this powerful and big. Anything less means prioritizing form (slim and thin profile) over function. Only Apple an get away with that because exterior design, appearance and brand prestige are Apple's main selling point. Any Android phone trying to use the same 'style-first, prestige-first' marketing strategy like what the Pixel is doing ('Phone by Google') is going to fail miserably and be perceived as a second rate trying hard copycat. Android phones should capitalize on their strength: functional and features superiority first, above looks and prestige. It's the only way an Android phone is going to earn the respect of iPhone users and hopefully bring some of them to the free, no-walls garden of Android. Google and other Android phone manufacturers need to learn a marketing lesson or two because they are doing it all wrong.

  • Drop off the game we are not fighting android against Apple and Pixel is not claiming to be the best phone on the market over everything else. Google have planned everything in the Pixel the way they want it. Why no dual sim you say, that,s because Google offer a network of network where their sim can switch from one carrier to the other WITH ONLY ONE SIM. Battery life will be better than any other android phone coming with the progress of the android 8. Apple already did improve the battery life for the Iphone with less mAh. Why cannot you understand that others can also improve their own phone? No. Just stop it and leave your comrade in peace

  • Say that to the 2900 mAh battery (11.1 Wh) of the Iphone 7 plus 5.5 screen. .2 does not ask for 1100mAh more

  • I hope those bezels are not real And with that size they shoul put min 4000mAh battery Not to mention dual sim plzzz

  • Google why didnt do dual sim??

  • ''Minor problems compared to HTC '' lol. You never used a HTC did you ?

  • Should have comes with 4000 mAh battery or more, considering its 5.7 inch

  • The phone is just for use not for sale

  • Considering the quality of hardware, iPhone is way ahead compared to HTC base google pixel. I phone can use up to 10 years or so , they have miner hardware problems compared to HTC . Also second hand market value for iPhone is higher than pixel.. iPhone is also easy to sell ..

  • sir Unofficial preliminary specifications!

  • sir Unofficial preliminary specifications!

  • Where is the 64Gb model!???? huh???

  • 2560x1312 isn't 18:9, it's 19:10, like the essential PH-1. It's not as tall as 18:9 and basically only adds the space for the soft buttons + a regular 16:9 screen.

  • Project cancelled. Thank god.

  • It's confirmed to have an infinity display type screen to body ratio, a lot of these specs are wrong. Display is "18:9 screen and a 2,560 x 1,312, 5.6 inches". I also bet the camera will feature Tango.

  • Storagev32 and 128gb. Stupid step like apple.. WHY?? Where 64gb? Most important size

  • Android versions is rocketting like hell, without major changes and optimizations. They just want to put numbers on version so that marketing will affect their profit. I wish google update the android with skin themes changing the whole skins of android from white or black. Themes like before on sony ericssion

  • If these are going to be the real specs, phone will not be very interesting. They should at least bring OIS to the camera, autofocus and 4k recording to the front facing camera, 18:9 aspect ratio, wirelles charging is a must... quick charge 4... That would make it exciting...

  • Let me guess... Google will likely copy Samsung's stupid 18.5:9 display aspect ratio in this phone, Apple's classy external design and sky-high price, and remove the headphone jack. If everything happens as expected, this phone is going to receive the same lukewarm response and miserable sales as the original Pixel phones.

  • Why to say boring, when it is not even announced yet?? At least wait till will be announced.

  • Another boring phone from Google, trying hard to be like Apple. If brand prestige, external appearances and conspicuous display/flaunting your phone matter more to you than the phone's actual features and usability, get nothing less than an iphone. External form, appearance, image and brand prestige is the main selling point of the iphone and no android phone, I repeat, no android phone including Googles overpriced PIXEL phones can take that away from an iphone. Features and functionality should be paramount to Google and as such, it should have all things the best android phones can offer: Dual sim card support, SD card support, IR blaster, FM radio, large battery (at least 4000mAh), slimport/MHL/Displayport support, NFC, ability to hide navigation bar and true 6.0" or larger screen options in standard 16:9 aspect ratio. These should be differentiating factors from the rest of the Android world in addition to standard flagship staples like top-of-the-line processor, high resolution amoled display, fingerprint sensor, 4 GB RAM or higher, NFC and other 'generic' flagship specs.
