Huawei P smart - User Reviews

  • Definately feels more sluggish with android 9. There was a possibility to downgrade via Hisuite, but that option is no longer there for me (as in to be able to choose "earlier version" in Hisuite)

  • It's wonderful from all the sides but it was better in Android 8.0. Android 9.0 is horrible. How can I downgrade my android?

  • Mi Huawei P Smart (FIG-LX3) se actualizo a emui 9.1.0 Y android 9

  • I've not had any problems since updating to EMUI 9.1 Perhaps it's worth trying the inbuilt optimiser app?

  • Speed? Maybe, Animations? Definitely not

  • Same here im from south Africa

  • Well I just downgraded mine and still have no regrets. Got my old faster phone back

  • Tell me how Android works for you 9? Whether you are deleting apps from the recent app, going to the back or home button? It seems to me that much more ram is taken up and apps are refreshed as it cannot keep them open ...

  • please fill down the information in specification of this phone Selfie camera -- Video -- 1080p@30fps

  • Arter pie update, phone became slow. From turkey

  • After one week my first impressions of this device are good, although I would prefer the choice of being able to use a 'pure' Android Pie rather than Emui OS. Currently it is not possible for the user to select where in the device - inbuilt memory or SD card - where their apps and data can be stored, which may lead to problems later unless Huawei rectify this issue in a future OS update.

  • Yea from Hicare

  • Android Pie on my P smart 2018 from Mexico

  • Good day everyone, can i get android pie upgrade on my psmart 2018 model?

  • From Hicare(the app)

  • good price, average camera, average battery, very good size with emui 9 speed and animations improved

  • Which country are you in with your P Smart

  • I have noticed the same thing too. I have to keep the phone on power saving mode in order for me to get extra on screen time

  • how do I update my android to 9?

  • This phone just received an Android 9 upgrade. As of end of June 2019. I am using one and running emui 9.1 and Android 9 🥧

  • go into app setting and disable/uninstall apps you never use. and you will free up available ram..i do that to all phones i get

  • android 8 free size of ram: 1.6~1.7 gig and after updating to android 9 free size of ram: 880 MB ~ 1.3 gig !!!! now 1 day after updating i want downgrade to android 8.

  • I've got pie too, works well, no problems:-)

  • Just got Android 9 update on my 2017 model.

  • Are you using the 2017 or 2019 model?

  • Just got the Androind 9 update on my P smart. Nice new look.. became faster.. only thing is that I feel the battery does not last as long as before the update.

  • How is Android Pie update on this phone. Does it come good for the phone

  • Actually it does. I use this phone intensive and the battery last at least one day. Plus the performance is great for a mid range phone. Do you own one? If not, you should try it.

  • Beats higher priced phone's and you tested this statement? well congratulations because this is one biased as hell statement the Kirin 65X series performance was terrible

  • dude not for that but this is terrible even for a joke, 15h SoT? some 5000mAh phone's don't get 15h SoT with stock-ish roms and this phone with 3000mAh on LagUI gets you 15h SoT? not only this is a terrible lie but it's far too hardcore even for a joke.

  • After Android Pie update if the Phone is slow, wipe cache on the device. Search on google for "huawei p smart wipe cache". There are some video available. Or turn off the phone, then press and hold volume up and power buttons together. When Huawei logo appears, release power button and keep volume up pressed until the phone boots into recovery mode. Use volume up/down to navigate. Select wipe cache partition. Press power button to execute. Reboot the phone.

  • Perform a factor reset. Back up your data before.

  • I got updated to pie in pakistan. But it seems mobile became slow

  • It just notified me about the update. I'm from Kenya

  • Update available in hicare.. :) Not in every countries yet... So give it time..

  • Wich is faster in gaming this or samsung A6+ (2018)

  • I have had this phone for over a year and it is good all-round except the camera. The camera is bad but apart from that, no complaints

  • Is it more interesting to get this phone or to go for an old flagship like Lg g6 or Htc10?

  • It's a brilliant phone to hold, I can get about 15 hours screen on time with this device. It's not my first Huawei phone that I have had but it definitely beats it even though battery is the same size. First was Huawei P8 Lite, the more older one. 3GB of RAM is more than enough for me.

  • Very good i have it! Its very good and budget phone.

  • This Samsung j6, or Huawei y7 2018?

  • Hi Ref Internet Speed Slow. In my response below I presume you mean WiFi, 1. Firstly please check your inet speed using "Ookla Speed Test" or something similar on Google search, using a PC, Laptop or any other device, then download the app via G play store & see if there is any difference, 2. If there is, it is probably a router issue on the 2.4 GHz frequency channel to over congested, so you may need to change to channel 2, 3 or 4. 3. If you have a lot of devices on WiFi, try turning them off first, 4. Also check to see that no-one is using your WiFi that should not be, go into router settings & check all devices are yours, or known to you. If not, simply change your access password & re-login your devices. 5. The last thing you may also want to try is the location of your router & the distance to your mobile, we have issues on all devices in our house simply due to a solid wall being near the router, so simply move the router away from the wall, not near any other power cables, including small power supplies like phones, broadband etc. 6. If none of these work or If unsure what I am saying talk to your Internet Service Supplier for trouble shooting. 7. If you are talking 3G or 4G coverage, that is down to your data allowances, limits & carrier, so you will have to trouble shoot with them. I trust this will help you out... good luck

  • Hi. Between this phone and the Samsung J6 2018, what do you guys recommend? Usage will be mostly browsing and the occasional game. Watching a video here and there. I currently own a Samsung Galaxy S3 Neo. Thank you.

  • Great phone. I've had it for 10 months and no problems at all. I am however having trouble finding a pouch for the P Smart in South Africa, so I keep it in a small shoulder bag to protect the face.

  • Yes, you can turn the feature on in settings.

  • is this available in Philippines?

  • Please add volte network on next update.

  • If these phone have volte supported

  • hello fig lx1 has gyroscope

  • strange i watch like 2 hours pluss you tube then i game 30 min and no heating at all good preformance for this price it beats alot of evan higher priced phones tested that statement to

  • i have my p smart a month it didnt lag once with that game maybe its a network issue more than phone?

  • i use my p smart daily at work transferring files hi suit doesnt effect my pc at all infact it works great maybe u got a diffrent bug on pc friend?

  • is this phone worth purchasing

  • Hello everyone here. Thanks for your oppinions about this phone. I need some help. I must choose between P10Lite and PSmart. I am almost ready to buy PSmart, but when I compare both phones, I see that P10Lite has Xvid and gyroscope. Has PSmart Xvid and is it important for phone to have? Thank you in advance! BR

  • Love my p smart, it has nfc and face unlock, lasts the whole day on normal use,the only downside is that it is a single Sim, but it's better compared to my previous huawei phones, p8, p8 lite, p8 lite 2017

  • I've had this phone for 3 months now. Overall I like that it has many different options in comparision with my old phone. Good photo quality, and the price is good as well. A few complaints that I have would be: - Sometimes when I open the camera it doesn't react to my touches for a couple of seconds (e.g. when I tap to take a picture, or on the screen to focus on something or when I want to turn the flash on/off), which can be annoying when I want to take a picture quickly. - Also, I'm not a fan of the HiSuite software which opens up automatically whenever I plug my phone to my PC via USB cable. I've never used any software for file transfer, and don't need it. This software slows my computer down and sometimes even freezes it, so I have to unplug my phone and then plug it in again. So far, I haven't had any luck trying to get rid of HiSuite – uninstalling it from my phone did nothing, it still keeps popping up on my PC.

  • Internet speed is very low How can I fix?

  • thank you i will now go buy this for myself for your detailed report on it sounds like u telling uss its a good buy

  • for screen protection i advise you use clear plex screen guard,is available for every phone model.Visit the nearest vodacom store to check it.It is available for front and back of your phone.

  • I bought the phone two weeks ago. Overall, satisfied with this budget phone. No heating issues, battery life good, great design. Would surely recommend to buy it.

  • I've been using it for almost 2 weeks now (not for gaming) and I have had no issues, I use most social media apps (all at the same time) more then most people use and it doesn't over heat, I have 2 sincards in mine plus I'm connected to wifi 24/7 and the battery lasts the whole day with over 15% left to spare, off corse I do keep it on 3G because LTE/4G uses more battery life but it's still fine, the only problem I have is I'm afraid of dropping it because it doesn't have gorilla glass protection The phone is actually very good for its price tag

  • I have problem with network, where my last phone had 4G a P smart have h+

  • Hey there! I have this phone and have used it for about 6 months now. I watch 3 or 4 hours of youtube videos. I do not have those heating issues, neither lagging while gaming. It runs games fine for me, have not experience any hiccups on that, except maybe a couple of times when I tried to open 3 or 4 heavy apps at the same time, that’s when my phone lags a little and takes about 3 to 4 seconds to recover and open everything I had on background, but never resets anything. Just takes longer for it to think. I usually close everything I do not use so usually tend to have 1 or 2 apps opened but that’s my case, I know people who just have like 15 or 20 apps on background, I would say that is when this phone could have trouble following that kind of user demand. It obviously going to have trouble for heavy use like trying to play top games with high specs and it is not going to take the best photos of the year, but really I’m sincere when I tell you that I have not had any problem whatsoever with youtube videos or normal games. I got this phone for 150 dlls and I think It’s worth it for that price. Solid midrange phone, good screen, ok camera, good specs, nice resolution for videos. Recommended for people with average needs like music, youtubes, chat and maybe some games. My unit does no overheat. I watch youtube +2 hours. That’s my experience with P Smart. Cheers!

  • I think for the price on paper it looks good. having owned one its a different story. Now this is my findings uk spec. Firstly camera was shocking, as in not that sharp. slow to focus. and bland pictures. i used to use Snapseed to edit and make them look better. no OIS on video so wobbly video. no waterproofing. and from time to time overheated. struggle to run most games. so Real Racing 3 lag like hell. But on the other side for the price it was good. and an early 18:9 ration screen, which was surprisingly crisp playing 1080p videos on it.

  • To be fair, it IS a cheap budget phone. It has been sold for half price in western europe, and still available at around that price some places, while many other vendors now stay 30-35% below the original price. In low cost counties the market for these "cheap" phones are bigger so they are sold at their original price still, which is quite unethical. If people knew how cheap these really are they would not buy them at the current prices in Asia/Africa/Middle East. I can buy one for half the retail price and STILL i find it to not be worth it.

  • Yes and this is why im leaning against not buying one as a present for Ex GFs little sister. Youtube is too important for the young, when this thing heats from the Youtube app and heat more from the inefficient LTE embedded in the chip its adding up to almost unusable. Too bad since i can have it brand new at almost half the regular price. Huawei is severely underperforming these days, it seems like Kirin is partly incompatible with other ARM based chips.

  • "but what phone doesn't when you are heavily using the screen? " iPhones. Even games that stutters badly on a Galaxy S8 will run supersmooth and cool on anold iPhone 6/6s/SE. Its no secret that Kirin chipsets are hot and slow and fakes benchmark scores when using official benchmarking apps, low performance means it has to run on high performance levels to cope even with low load apps like Youtube that runs without any sign of heating on many other phones. Heating isnt normal, its just widely accepted.

  • I've had this phone for 5 months now and I got not a single complaint about the phone. I've felt it overheat a bit now and then but what phone doesn't when you are heavily using the screen? I noticed just one other thing. The fingerprint reader is fast an reliable, the screen display is beautiful, the camera is excellent when there is good illumination around but not so good otherwise, the metal body is a bit slippery but pretty resistant, I have noticed no bending whatsoever even when I've dropped my phone a couple times. The Kirin 656 (I think) processor plus 3 GB are quite enough for the apps and games that I run on it though I am always closing whatever I am not using and using the inbuilt maintenance app to keep the phone clean. My only issue with the phone charging the phone while it was off. if you plug the charger first then turn the phone off it would stop charging, so next day when you turn your phone back on it will be at the same battery percentage as the previous day, it was quite the annoyance until I realized that I simply had to plug the charger in after the phone was off. Other than that the battery lasts all day easily with moderate usage. I would recommend this phone and this company 100%

  • no heating issues? this thing gets hot when even only watching youtube.

  • p smart is better because its bigger and faster than q6

  • I am planning to buy this phone. Please let me know about the speaker quality.

  • Hi, P Smart or LG Q6+ ?

  • Had it for a few months now, battery is excellent, very fast phone, very nicely priced, Can do most of the things that the very expensive phones can do, unfortunately it hasnt got features like fast charging or waterproof, but i wouldnt expect it to at just £200. Very happy overall.

  • Will the P Smart recieve the update Android 9?

  • Fig Lx1 has gyroscope.... Tested in cpu_z and YouTube 360 video

  • "Rubish phones" surpassed Iphone so yea...

  • Okay so I have this phone for last six months and I'm ready to give my opinion. Battery lasts whole day (Heavy usage) Droped it many times screen never cracked even though it doesn't have gorila glass Chase never bent or anything , if u don't use case its fingerprint magnet Fingerprint sensor fast and solid Screen and resolution pretty nice Speaker even though its single speaker it's pretty loud and nice Cameras very good but you have to get used to it its not rly good at auto focus Android 8.0 it has updates everytime they come out (4-5 times in last 6 months) Only problem I had is Bluetooth, sometimes it doen't want to turn on, don't know is it only on my phone phone or every other For this price amazing phone

  • Barely lasts a day

  • Huawei p smart or wiko view 2 ? Any suggestions

  • A friend has this phone. He is always complaining about it. 1) no android update 2) no security updates since purchase 3) casing has bent with over heating 4) paint is coming off case 5) no gorilla glass and the cheap screen protector is coming lose. 6) battery life horrendous Don't buy it. Don't buy Huawei Rubbish phones, Rubbish company.

  • It is not that good, barely lasts a day with not so much work.

  • Battery sucks. I dont play games, just use it for browsing and WhatsApp and it barely lasts a day. And I bought it yesterday. After having an iPhone 5c, this one really feels like some cheap budget phone.

  • Hy I have problems with network I

  • Yes, honor 7x, Honor 9 Lite,.. All updates through OTA update.

  • Huawei should start including gyro sensor in this range.

  • You have done a great job thanks.

  • P20 lite

  • Can someone help me? I need a new phone but I can't choose between a Huawei P20 Lite, Huawei P Smart or Huawei Y7 Prime (2018).

  • Just bought it yesterday since I urgently needed a new phone and couldn't decide on any of the flagship models. (Had mainly looked at HTC U12+ but didn't dare to buy it.) Anyways, the specs is very similar to the HTC M9 I am replacing which was the main criteria in the selection. So far I am not impressed as I mostly have noticed the differences and have started looking for workarounds.

  • Will this phone get Android P or Android One update,if not im gonna throw it to the wall and kill it and buy new one lmao

  • yes it is, for medium to high graphics

  • After the Nexus 5X Huawei's camera is a pure garbage. But aside from that, this is a good phone for its price.

  • love this phone it's brilliant

  • will this phone get android pie(9) ?

  • how's the battery life of this phone

  • I love this phone

  • Yeah! you can play almost any game with resolution. Its very good with games. i have tried playing many games and all of them worked smoothly.

  • Is P Smart good for playing games like PUGB/Free fire?

  • There is no notifications for call log on the main screen ! If you have a missed call you will never know ! only if you press the call icon you will find it !!!! also the Touch screen is very bad when you scroll between contacts and or writing very disappointed by the phone !

  • Not all P Smart models have Dual Sim. What P smart version do you have?

  • I 'm just asking for an assistant about my device, I bought p smart knowing that it is a dual SIM device so when I insert a second SIM it does not appear to the screen I don't know what to do

  • Either press and hold the power-button for a second or 2 then just select "restart" on screen, or force restart by holding power for about 10 secs until the screen goes black

  • Well it's just design different otherwise it's the same thing just one other camera on the front. If you like glass design go with the honor but you will need a case from the first day because it is very fragile so be careful. The p smart it's more comfortable for me so I hope that I helped you.

  • P9 lite has a MUCH better camera, otherwise they're the same

  • Actually its good

  • Sounds good but no loud enough

  • hey. i have been using this phone for about 3 months and i had no problem with it

  • Hi all. Is the wireless signal good?

  • which is better p smart or honor 9 lite?

  • Can anyone please give me some information about huawei p smart's sound quality?

  • Mine is fine. used it for 3 months and has no problems. Check with your retailer

  • how to restart the device

  • Is a excellent phone for the price

  • Dont buy P smart have used it like 2wks and has a problem in my wechat and watsapp indicating lack of storage where it has 14GB free space it is hangs most of the time when i open multiple apps and even network

  • Huawei P20 lite is better then P smart. Better camera, bigger screen,...

  • Hi ! Bokeh effect is ok ?

  • Which is better phone,P smart or P 20 lite ?

  • If you want newest Android version and good camera you can go for P Smart :)

  • I don't know about that problem, haven't have any issues whatsoever with touch screen since I got this phone for months ago, it's actually very responsive and fast. Maybe try restarting the phone? It could also be a malware accidentally installed by an app or something like that, try fabric reset in that case or take it to a tech support store if the problem persist.

  • Why does my huawei call by his self not even touching the screen?By this glitch or the phones fault i have called every1 in my family? Does someone knows fix or the problem? Thanks Krists!

  • Huawei P Smart 3 GB RAM vs Redmi Note 5 Plus 4GB vs Mi A1 4GB?

  • Is there a big difference between P Smart (3gb/32gb) and Mate 10 Lite? Is it worth it to give more 40 euros for Mate 10 Lite?

  • The 129 comes with some more security features including Face unlock. I did not use 126 long enough but I am enjoying the 129 so far

  • I’ve had a few Samsung devices and P Smart on the other hand is my first Huawei Device. I would say it is more about the features you are looking on a OS and what fits you better. I personally have enjoyed EMUI 8.0 so much, I like the options it provides like choose exactly what app can use my data and when, also its little perks like taking a screenshot by touching the screen with 3 fringers or the scren record option with power button + volume button. I have not use the latest Samsung Experience UX 8.5 so I would not know about that, so I can just give you my experience on newest EMUI version. It sure runs smoothly on this device. Still there are some people that just don’t click with EMUI and that comprehensively, as I said before, is about what kind of features and gestures you are looking for on a devices. People say EMUI is sort of like an hybrid between iOs and Android. You can choose to have a more iOs towards experience or an Android experience, is up to you. Hope that can help you a little, Cheers

  • about the battery warming does it affect the battery and the phone or not?

  • Between Huawei's EMUI 8.0 vs Samsung Experience UX 8.5 in all honesty which one would you consider is more useful, more intuitive, better performance, better features, more productivity?

  • yes

  • Is p smart have face unlock option? Reply plllzzzz

  • have this device 4.5G?

  • I have this phone but there is no slow motion like p10 lite. Will he ever get it?

  • I don't know if this is a little late, but I'd pick the P Smart any day, better screen, better battery, dual back camera. And Huawei as a brand is miles better than what HTC has become. Hope this helps :)

  • Android P?

  • Yes

  • Guys witch you think is better Huawei P smart or HTC U Play. I don't know what to choose. Please help me.

  • Does it have otg feature?

  • You can indeed have a PrivateSpace so you can access certain apps or albums only by fingerprint, also create a different user account with EMUI account on settings. Haven't use that last option but I know it's there.

  • Thanks for the indept reviews guys. Wanted to find out if it has PrivateSpace and if so can it be accessed with a programmed fingerprint? (Even from sleep/standby) Or does it have the ability to create different user accounts on the device and same with the fingerprint as above? Thanks

  • Thanks for your "review" and i totally agree with you, i got this 2 days ago and im really impressed, you cant get anything thats alot better if any at this pricerange, i paid 190 usd/same in euros and i couldnt be happier. I find the fingerprint features very handy and as you say its quick too. The build quality is good and it looks like a more expensive phone in my oppinion. I surf the web, use quite alot of apps and i dont play demanding games so for me this is perfect. The camera qould be better as you said but for this price i didnt expect that much and in good lighting the pictures are actually nice.

  • yes it has.

  • Does it have toc toc mode to unlock the phone?

  • Thanks!Hope they will fix it with the next update.

  • Hello! When I wanted to buy this device, I looked for useful tips on the internet, but I did not find them. For this reason, I decided to write my opinion in the hope of helping someone about this device. I paid about 175€ (~205$, ~ 155 GBP) for Huawei P smart and for this device I got a one year guarantee. In my opinion before buying the device, you need to determine what is important to you for choosing phone and buy a device based on that. The first thing you see is the beautiful screen and design of the device. I got a black model and I have to say that I am impressed with the design and built quality. It looks like a phone that belongs in premium class. The device is really thin even with a protective silicone mask. The display is almost on the entire front side, it's a new 18:9 ratio and I have to admit I'm thrilled. I could not find any lacks of design and display. Oreo 8.0 paired with EMUI 8.0 and 3gb RAM will allow you to work fluently and will make all your actions quick and efficient. Sometimes it may happen when using the most demanding applications, the device stops for a second, but that's not often. If you use this mobile for surfing the Internet, social networks and playing some games you will be impressed with the speed of this device. You have 20GB of free memory on your device and you need to keep this in mind. The performance of this device is high and you will not have problems. I noticed the warming up of the device when playing more demanding games. A 3000mAh battery will give you the full day of usage and those who are more economical will go for 2 days. For the price of this device, the battery is good, but you should not expect miracles. The loudspeaker could be louder, but you will not be disappointed. Sound quality is ok. Using a headset, you will get even better results. The call quality is also good. What I'm especially impressed with is back-mounted fingerprint. It's fast as lightning and I must say it can be compared with fingerprints at higher-ranking devices. The fingerprint can also be used to lower the notification bar and some other options that you can find in the settings. The device also has face recognition unlocking and I must admit the device will do its job, but not quickly like fingerprint. Finally, the dual camera on back and 8mp camera on the front will provide you good images. In the good light, you will have excellent photos both with the front and rear cameras. However, in low light conditions, you will not be impressed. The pictures are quite blurred, but if we remember the price of this device I think they are ok. For my needs, the camera is great, but you have to keep in mind that you will not get the pictures like on some more expensive devices. If you know how to use Pro mode you can get even better photos. The phone itself offers many options that you can play with and EMUI offers you high level of customization. In the end, if you want a phone just for camera or you want a phone just for games I would not recommend this device. If you use phone for social media, surfing the internet and wants to take some good pictures for social media or play some games (not high demanding) you will absolutely satisfied with this device. In my opinion you can not get better phone at this price range. If I missed something or you want to ask something else about this phone, feel free to ask. I am hoping that I helped someone. Good luck guys!

  • The blurryness in Chrome is caused by a bug in the Screen Resolution feature. If you lower the screen resolution to 720p (HD+) Chrome is less pixelated (it has the opposite effect). It also affects the built in web viewer. I use Microsoft Edge as it appears to render images at a higher resolution than chrome beta.

  • *manual focus, sorry

  • Can anyone tell me why Chrome is blurry on this phone? Only on stable,I use Chrome Beta.

  • Try to autofocus, seems to take better pictures in this way.

  • Hello Guys, I've been using my P Smart for 3 months now and here is my long review: • Battery Life: I'm not that much of a heavy user, I tend to close any app at the moment I go to another one but I do watch a lot of videos on youtube and navigate on the web quite a lot throughout the day. I use Instagram and Twitter as main social media, I do not use Facebook or Messenger nor do I have them installed but I do know they drain your battery faster so tae that in mind. Spotify is what I use the most, it is always on background playing music while I use my phone. On weekdays when I have to work and don't use my phone that often, from 7am when I start my day with news or podcasts to 7 or 8 pm when I get home my battery goes down from 100% to 40%-30%, I charge at night until 10pm before going to sleep until it is fully charged and then I put in on airplane mode to avoid battery drain and wake up to my phone still being at 100% Weekends are my heaviest day use, from 9 am to 1pm it drains down to 40% (youtube, Spotify ALL the time, Gmail, chrome, WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, camera, Shazam and reading quite a lot of articles), I rarely play any games (maybe 30 minutes when I do). I charge it about one hour until it is at 70% again and at 8 pm it goes down 30%-20% • Battery get an 8.3 out of 10 as Huawei's EMUI OS learns about your daily usage on your phone and as the weeks goes by, it learns your patrons to help you improve battery life, but still with heavy use you will need to charge at least once a day for at least 1 or 2 hours. EMUI OS: Screen response is smooth and I am pretty happy with it, EMUI is easy to use and you can choose to have more of an Android experience or IOS experience, if you ask me, I will say you can have kind of the best of both worlds in one phone, still Huawei's OS has a few things to offer you that gives you a personalized experience, you can customize it pretty much as much as you want. When multitasking phone's response is good, when I use two or three apps at the same times it can handle it nicely, but if you use more than 3 apps at the same time (maybe split screen with video, an article, and a game paused on background) you can expect some lag, not as much as with others budget phones tho but just take in mind that you can't ask this phone to make what a Mate 10 can do. • EMUI and Multitasking gets an 7.9 out of 10 for this. Still impressive to what it can do for that price. Camera: I usually take close up shots with manual focus since I like my backgrounds blurred. I am happy with pro camera mode, normal camera mode is just ok. About main camera: Colors are a little bit washed out on normal mode but you can fix that with pro camera mode, just have in mind that it will take you a few seconds to adjust colors and mode before taking your ideal pictures. Bokeh mode is better on main camera but still, expect edges and hair to be a little be fuzzy sometimes and get pieces of your clothes or hair eaten by bokeh mode if there is no good daylight. Selfie camera is just ok, it does a good job in my opinion but I've defintely seen better. I feel pictures are sharpe on selfie mode too but main camera is just way better, and you have more options there too. Pictures on day are great! you can reach good colors with pro mode but better not to rely too much on your P smart's camera at night unless you have a tripod or selfie stick. • Camera gets 7.8 out of 10 for this. Not the best out there, not the worst, still you have pro mode to fix anything about your photo that you do not like! Fingerprint reader: Huawei has probably one of the fastest fingerprint readers there are out there, for real, time response of the P Smart is around 0.30 to 0.60 seconds, it's crazy how they give you this good fingerprint sensor in such a budget smartphone. • 10 out of 10, just so much comfort when unblocking your phone, you'll love it. Practical, easy and very reliable. You can lock apps and albums with you fingerprint too for more privacy. Upates: I bought my P Smart on March and I've been getting patches once a month. That is just my experience tho, It can change depending on your country, I guess some will have more updates than others. I do know that Huawei will improve P smarts performance with boost update on August ( ) so let's wait until then to see what happends. • A close 8 out of 10 on this topic. Audio: Probably its weakest point here. You can easily cover the speakers by accident as it is in a awkward position, also audio jack is in a bad position if you ask me, it gets in the way when I want to play with headphones. Speakers are not that good, somehow weak so I will just say straight use Bluetooth speakers instead. • 6.5 out of 10 on this one. Overall experience: • 8.5 out of 10 for P Smart • I think those users that will be happy with this phone are the ones that have a normal daily use like social media, pictures for your FB and Instagram will be pretty good, you have beauty mode for selfies and you are going to have a good experience watching videos on youtube, my phone has never lagged when playing a video. Video games can be played nicely as long as they are not games that require top specs. Bright on screen is ok, you need it at max when there is a lot of sunlight. The battery will last if you are this kind of user. I have not had heat problems so far. It does have notification LED. Body feels very slim and somehow delicate, a case is strongly recommended! I have dropped it just twice from my bed and have not had any scratch but I do not think this phone can take falls from very high, so take that in mind. Hope this review helps you know if you are planning to buy a P Smart. Cheers.

  • As a gift to my self I bought today this phone, I'm satisfied on it. 😍😍😍

  • Hello I have LA1 and my phone version is 126. Now I have one update to 129. Is the 129 version is good or not better to stay in the 126 version?

  • about 3 hours, my opinion is that 4g network is reason why battery drain fast, and facebook and messenger

  • yes , blue for facebook, red for viber notification light

  • Same problem with my phones camera. Any solution?

  • Only mi a1

  • Only mi a1

  • Will Android P be released for this phone? And why there is no slow motion picture? Thanks

  • Thanks bought P Smart over Mi A1 thank u guys and i love the new phone! Thanks everyone who helped me.

  • Specs don't list gyroscope.

  • I agree that cameras isn't any good on P smart, I took better pictures with my previous phone Huawei P8 Lite (2017).

  • Dear How long does it take to charge the p smart? Are you comfort with the charge time?

  • I have a problem with the camera:the photos are pixelated like when you use too much ISO,even on day or night conditions.I tried to take photos with Pro Mode but same thing.I think it is a software problem or my phone camera is borken?

  • yep in the settings / about phone / system navigation / navigation bar there's two options which are explained with kind of draw , it's clear

  • the design is the best point for the p smart

  • just zoom with your fingers (the same zoom movement in the camera )

  • I have a P Smart, and it's quite decent for the price. However, I would still recommend the Mi A1 for it's better performance, and better main camera. But when it comes to the screen, I find the P Smart's brighter and with punchier colors compared to the Mi A1. There's also the Android One vs EMUI. Those are good points to consider :)

  • When watching videos, the top part of the screen goes black, cuts the view into a 3/4 screen. How do i fix that?

  • Who is better? Huawei P Smart or Xiaomi Mi A1? Need help since im getting new phone in next week.

  • I though I was the only one having problem with the screen touch, it works well most of the time but acts wierd sometimes. I hope an 8.1 update will fix this since I think it's a software related problem. Overall it's a very good phone imo but I wish the camera was a bit better

  • Does it have a full display option, by that i mean is there an option where the home and back button disappear and are replased with gestures.

  • Actually atm after experimenting a lot with the camera features I can get rly nice pics even at low light. Okay, they are a little noisy but for the price of the phone I can't complain for a little noise in low light conditions. At the day or when there is light the pictures really rock!!! Thanks for ur advice mate!

  • Yes there are! Draw a C on ur screen with ur knuckle it just needs some pressure

  • I don't have the problem of the sound turning off, however a couple of times I have experience similar problem while I’m on the car with Bluetooth, music suddenly stoping. I have an update pending on my phone right now so I’m going to update it tonight to see if the problems it's fixed with this new patch.

  • Yes it does

  • I've had my P Smart since February, love the phone but since update about a month ago, my listening to music has become extremely bothersome, as the sound keeps turning off, and I have to keep turning up the volume. Before the headset option always turned the volume softer to avoid ear damage, but now it just goes to mute, repeatedly. Even more if I'm in the car listening to music via the Bluetooth option. I've tried going to the settings, allowed 3rd party options, bluetooth, etc. and none of those options seem to work. So if anyone has come up with a solution, please let me know!

  • I've noticed a slight lag on my one game, the graphics aren't heavy, which doesn't bother me much but it can be annoying to most.

  • Yes

  • Does it has face id/face unlock?

  • Does the Huawei p smart have a notification LED?

  • I was wondering if there are knuckle gestures on the huawei P Smart? If there are how do I access them?

  • you can use shazam and recognize the song "while listening FM radio and not removing headset", i did not see that functionality on any other mobiles.

  • there is a stock...* because*...

  • Hey all, I bought mine around 3 days ago and the gyroscope doesn´t work... dmn... I found that there a stock of this smartphone with that problem..................... i hate this, i really like the phone but when I want to play PUBG for example... is not confortable becausa de output for headphones is all over the center of my right hand.................

  • dear, i told you, everything is ok except a battery life, from 7 am to 3 pm 50 % drain, i used a facebook 3 hours , instagram 1 hour, chrome 1 hour , wifi and 4g combined 8 hours ,you can adjust display from full hd to low resolution to save energy, but I think battery is not good side of that phone

  • i also got my p smart 4 weeks back and it a simple phone until your realy gety in to deep with it feature that are not mentioned that much. also do photography and was a bit dissapointed whn i got the phone until i found pro camera it u swipe from left to right , it gives you options to choose iso, aperture and shutter speed and was impressed , i can compare it to canon 700d, it realy not that bad it u can do manual settings

  • thanks

  • hi dear.i have a question about battery life. how much is its battery life due work at all day ( 7 am to 12 pm )?

  • dear friends, after 10 days of using p smart there is my opinions... --great display 9 of 10 stars, on the daylight and by the night very good, good resolution ,great pictures, everything ok --- good camera on the day light excelent , on the night middle quality, images on daylight are very very clear with a lot of details, front camera has a little bit strong colors but i think you can modify that in settings , some colors are pumped and pictures are unreal but good ---- speed is good , no bugs but some aplications from other markets doesnt work, i dont know why? ---you must use a silicon mask on the back , because phone is made of a metal and it is very slice.. ---4 g network works perfectly , better than my last phone xiaomi 4x, who has a problem with switching 3g and 4g. This phone has a good networking, both wireless and 3g -4g --I dont play games and dont test about it ---only thing I think could be better is baterry. only 3300 mpa, and it cant survive whole day of normal using ( facebook ,instagram, chrome, camera,) from the 7 am to 5 pm after using on 3g-4g mobile network, on wi fi maybe longer.. you can reduce resolution of display to save energy, that is good thing price is very good side of this phone, about 220 e ( mate 10 lite is 320e I dont know why, there is a little different among them) for price 10 stars of 10! ---after all I can recommended this smartphone for that price you have a lot of good things, and I want to thanks my friends from here who help me to buy this phone, if anybody has a questions you can ask me!

  • Hows gaming on this phone? Any lags, drop in frame rate?

  • On this device with emui 8 can you create different user accounts? or Does it have PrivateSpace? Thanks

  • Hi Guys, wanna buy Samsung note 5 or P Smart this week, which has a better camera??

  • Hi Guys, I wanted buy Samsung note 5 or P smart this week, which one has better camera??

  • If i can choose I Will go for Xiaomi Note 5 Pro or Redmi 5 Plus. Better in everything aspect compared to P Smart and cheaper. Better battery and screen than Xiaomi A1.

  • could you please give me an advice..I have 250 e to spend on mob..but cant decide between Xiaomi Mi A1, Huawei P10 Lite or HUAWEI P-SMART..which is best according your experience? I need good camera and before all good video recording sound..or recommend me something else :) thank you!

  • Thanks for the detailed analysis, wish everyone would be this detailed

  • my friend thank you very much, thanks a lot from montenegro!

  • Between this 3 devices I wouldn't go for Nokia 6 2017. From some research I've done for u the Redmi 5 Plus and P Smart look waaay better. The displays are lovely in both phones. Redmi 5 Plus has a little bigger display with softer and brighter color reproduction that give a sense of depth and u get a feeling that is more premium. P Smart has a little smaller display with vibrant colors that have a tint of blueish. Wish I could share some pictures with u to understand better what I'm talking about here. U have the option to change the colors of the screen in both devices so they get more suitable to ur preferences. If u check here the P Smart review in display section u will see that the guys who review the phone observed the same thing and they give a color calibration option that really works in real and balances a bit the blue tint but doesn't take it away 100%. Both phones have no connectivity issues with wi-fi or 4g everything runs perfect for me with no dc's or problems. GPS is accurate on both no problems here. They run all programs with no issues but my P Smart gets a little hot when I use many apps at the same time. The speaker is louder on Redmi 5 Plus with more bass, P Smart has more highs and in high volume is a little disturbing to the ears. Call quality is excellent on both haven't experienced any issue while talking. Redmi is a BIG phone that if u wear a tracksuit and u have the device in ur pocket one side goes down :pp (talking from personal experience this guy is super heavy) P smart is like a feather very light and compact. The battery with heavy usage on P Smart and open wifi all day gets me almost a day I have to recharge at night. On Redmi with same usage it rly lasts 1half day. The camera in the morning is lovely in both phones. With the pros and cons I mentioned. At night I can't get a nice picture with P Smart. Also the colors on Redmi are warmer on P Smart they are cold with gray and blue tint. P Smart comes with Oreo 8 out of the box and heard rumors that will get 8.1. (Oreo btw has some rly cool features). Redmi comes with Nougat and rumors say that will get Oreo on December. Both Huawei and Xiaomi are companies that I fancy. Xiaomi has a great community (since u have a Redmi device alrdy u sure know). And btw there are many videos on youtube that compare the device u have now the 4x with Redmi 5 and 5 plus camera. Check them out it will rly help u understand the improvements in camera. Hope I helped, feel free to ask anything u like my friend. Cheers!

  • Hehe, my pleasure :) Well, I haven't used nokia 6 2017 and haven't heard very nice comments about it, but nokia 6 2018 has a really good camera, video and sound quality. The display is really nice, the build quality is great,ah and also the battery gets u easy through a heavy usage day. Also when u open the device u get Oreo 8.1 update. A friend of mine has that device and he is super happy with it. Well, p9 has Leica lenses so yeah, takes amazing photos, even the selfie camera is absolutely lovely. Also the processor is waaay better than the devices we are talking about now, and the screen even in 1080x1920 with 423ppi is absolutely stunning!!! Love the colors on this phones display. But then the design of the phone is of an older philosophy, with big bezels, smaller screen etc. and overall more money for p9. I use both Redmi 5 plus and P Smart, and as I said on previous post each one has it's pros and cons so it's up to u to decide what things u looking for on a device. Ah, another thing also is the size of each one. Redmi 5 Plus is a BIG phone, especially for me that I'm a girl looks super big and is also heavy, but u rly enjoy looking at this massive screen and playing games. P Smart is smaller, waaaay lighter and more compatible and cute, still big lovely screen!! :p

  • Well, I like taking pictures I'm using the phone camera daily taking few shots. I don't have high demands and I don't except the quality of my dslr camera. But, comparing the pictures taken with my P Smart in low light with pictures taken with other phones like P9 lite, iphone 6, G Flex 2, Redmi 5 Plus, the quality of the pictures are below average. Colors are not accurate, they are more cold with gray and blue tint, they have tons of noise, and they objects are full of pixels like taken with an old web camera, with 640x480 resolution. Especially the selfie camera is a total mess. And it is supposed to be 5mp while the other devices i mentioned except Redmi 5 plus that has also 5mp, are lower. That's my experience with the camera of this phone when I use it after the evening or indoors. And I want to make clear that I have no intention to give bad critic on this device and I'm not a fan of any company, I just share my experience using my P Smart. :)

  • thank you, for your"s doctors opinion, i have a redmi 4 x and only bad thing that is only 2 giga ram and 16 rom notning else, 5 plus looking very good and I am thinking about it , but I can take a p smart over the operater . My wife has a huawei p9 and it is very good phone with fascinant camera, and that is reason why I am thinking about huawei phone. I forgot to tell you I can take a nokia 6 2017 for that price like huawei p smart, what do you think about nokia 6 ?

  • For example I have now opened messenger, chrome, youtube and gallery and the device is at 39,6oC the back of it is hot. Not hot like it burns my hand but hot!

  • Ok I never had any problems taking great picture but then im not taking alot of them. Its usually in good Lightning. But for what ive seen no blurry pictures or bad colors. I mean ive compared with my iPhone X and the result is good.

  • My device never get hot, not as hot you would notice it anyway. If you use heavy apps that demands alot of power and have alot of apps open i guess what you experience could happen. I always close apps after im done with them.

  • I use Redmi 5 plus aswell got the 3gb/32gb. Never got any problems with it. No lags, never gets hot, everything runs super smooth. The display is different from the P Smart, it's not as vibrant as the P Smart but for my taste I prefer the Redmi 5 plus display, feels like there is more depth and gives u a more premium feel that u can realize if u hold both the devices. But it's up to you, you will be pleased with both devices in terms of display. Then there is the EMUI or IMUI difference. It's a matter of personal taste again both have their pros and cons. On the camera section, people here state that the P Smart is awesome. My P Smart's camera is awful, but maybe I have a faulty device,I'm rly confused in that section. But I can share some useful info with you. Redmi 5 plus doesn't have beauty modes on video recording, only on photos and they are more "light" they don't erase ur face. P Smart has beauty mode feature both on videos and pictures. My P Smart gives more unnatural colors, though Redmi 5 Plus gives more natural colors. If u go for Redmi 5 Plus get the 4gb/64gb coz IMUI uses a lot of ram so it will be much better for u.

  • If I use many apps together my phone gets hot. And the screen gets stack for some seconds. Afterwards everything runs as it should but the back of the phone is still hot.

  • Hey mate, I would be rly interested to share pics each other coz with what you just wrote i'm very curious if I got a faulty device. In the morning the pics are fine, and a bit to the warm side that I kinda fancy! But in the evening or indoors with no sun light everything gets super pixeled, super blurry and all colors turn gray and blue (white gets super gray and everything else gets a blue tint over it). Srsly it's like taking a picture with a Nokia303. About the metal body I have no problems with that, but I have issues with the noise buttons and the lock button that makes clicky sounds and is like it doesn't fit correctly(hopefully u understand what I'm trying to say here) and that gives a feeling of a cheap device. As for the part of taking photos I can clearly say that my oldest phones take waaaay better pictures(talking about quality) from this device, even my nokia303 can be compared with the P Smart I got in low light pictures. So that's why I'm disappointed by this specific device.

  • For the people saying there is cheaper and better phones then this. Maybe, but where i live this phone just dropped in price and goes for around 195 euros. Nothing at that price is better. Atleast not here in norway :)

  • The redmi plus seems like a good phone tho, never used one. They dont sell here. Snapdragon 625 is pretty much the same as p smarts Kirin 659. So I think both phones perform similar. But can also say p smart comes with android 8 and regular security patches. Also heard android 8.1 is around the corner :)

  • Camera is great, overall performance is smooth. Display is also good. You can choose between lower res to save battery. This phone also have some good built in futures like Antivirus and cleaning program. For me it has good battery life but im not a heavy user or play games alot. Also one think i really like thats a bit rare is the alarm goes of even if you turn off your phone. This phone is an really good pick for anyone that need a solid smart phone for everyday use :)

  • my friend i am tninking about this phone or redmi 5 plus, what do you think about camera and display and other things?

  • Yes I also really like the camera. For what it cost it does some real good things :)

  • Oh i did not read 2017 well thats a better choice but dont think its better tho.

  • Yeah its a good phone but its not better. Mine lags now and battery is awful. Also the camera is not as good. How can you even compared the two. It must be 3 years old or something. This phone has better specs for sure. My friend still rocks the 8 lite but would gladly trade it for the p smart.

  • Yep, I agree with you. Build material is good and camera does a great job, especially in daylight, images are sharp and colorful, I feel like Malice is talking about another totally different phone because my P smart takes normal day usage with flying colors, and sometimes I do heavy things with more than 4 to 5 apps open all at once and my phone does not even blink. Runs smoothly. Audio quality it is not so great, I agree with that one, but selfie and main camera? Man they do an excellent job, even more for this price! It is totally worth it.

  • Huawei p8 lite 2017 beats all mid range phone including some gl

  • Oh man they are really GFF screen wow that is why they stopped writing GFF on their screen information.

  • Build quality bad? Its mostly metal wtf. Camera is Great. Done some really good selfies with blurred background also tested it against my iPhone x. Camera is better then most phones in this category. If I could I would share some snaps. Either you talk about an other phone or you have a faulty phone. Its front camera is also great. If you turn of beuty mode and go for portrait. You get almost as good results as the iPhone. You must be a really bad at taking pictures with a phone.. As i told people before, i tried like 40 different phones the past 2 years and no budget phone ever ran this good. For its price its totally worth it. Tell me about a phone in the same category that does a better job then. Im actually curious 😀

  • I recommend putting it in basic power saving mode it wil than charge from 2 to 100% in 2 hours

  • but my phone takes about 3.5 hours to change

  • For 230euros absolutely not!

  • After using this phone for 3 days... Pros: Runs Oreo Everything runs super smooth, no lag Nice and vibrant display Games run without any problem but haven't tried super intense games Call quality is good WiFi connection all good without problems or dcs Mobile data connection all good without problems or dcs GPS everything works perfect Battery with heavy usage lasts less than a day, it's the kind of device u will charge every night before going to bed Cons: Built quality is veeeery bad, it's like a kid's phone very fragile and sound buttons make clicky sounds Speaker is super crispy and has distortion if u listen to music or something Although the display is vibrant it feels like cheap, peeps who have used better phones will understand what i'm talking about Camera is by far the worst camera I have used in this category. Images are super noisy with washed out colors having tints of gray and blueish. Selfie camera is like using an old web camera, super noisy not acceptable from a 5mp in 2018 Video...the same as the images with gray and blue tints and srsly bad quality. From the evening and till the other morning u just don't use the camera :pp srsly without a little light everything gets even worse. The phone heats up when u use 3-4 apps at the same time, for example camera, messenger, youtube opened at the same time. Conclusion: Imo this device doesn't worth 220euros and if you want a camera to use daily and having fun stay away from P Smart. If u also don't mind a little heating of the device while multitasking or playing games it's nice phone.

  • With eyes closed Redmi 5 plus!!!!!!!

  • Yes it is faster than the Samsung galaxy s6 it has 6.5 hours battery life while gaming it has quick charge it has a bright and beautiful screen which is 5.6 inches and it has dual sim and can run al the games from the play store with no lag

  • Yes

  • I own the p smart and i have no lag on al my games on high grafics. I know someone who has p9 and he said that he had some lag on some games

  • Yes

  • P smart is better i know a guy who has p9 and it lags in some games. I do own p smart and i have no lage at highest grafics in al my games

  • Still waiting for that.. No info yet but hey overall the phone gives that bang for the buck

  • I have just got the P Smart Huawei, previously had Samsung, although the P smart has some good features, I am not happy with the phone, takes long to charge and charge does not last more that a day and half..... picks up mainly on 2 G not 4G no matter where I am... just feel that the phone under performs on speaker as I phone my Children on Whats app and messenger and really not clear or consistent connection... did not have these problems with my Samsung..

  • It support dual Sim.

  • I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review #PsmartInsiders #TheInsidersUK. Give a go to use this phone as my daily commuting, so far I am impressed how well being put together. Huawei wrapped an in-house chipset into a sleek and sexy design, comfortable to hold, be able to awake the phone but just place a finger on to of the finger sensor is a plus. Just things that you do not always find in a phone belonging to a higher tier. Excellent battery life. The screen is bright even on a sunny day, and I find it excellent by just being an FHD display, most of the content is crispy and for my criteria has a correct color balance. As his name indicates, the forte part of this phone is his dual rear camera. I was surprised at the amount of functionality added by Huawei SW engineers into the camera app, mainly in the professional mode. I consider this phone a good replacement for a point and shoot camera, being more flexible at the end, save you to carry additional weight around. However, pictures under low light conditions require to play with the manual settings as the auto mode might not get you the desired composition. Still will not leave my DSLR aside, though is a good complement just for a quick snap. EMUI had come a long way since last time had a Huawei on my hands, the customization is good and the continuous left and right swipe to access all installed apps is a good idea but I could see people change it for a more common Android feel. Sadly, I haven't found the way to the installed apps get organized/ auto-arranged when I delete one, which leaves a hole that needs to be filled or organize the apps manually, one at the time. I look around and still haven't found how to do it yet. In my opinion, one thing that will make this phone a truly amazing one is to have dual SIM support.

  • To take this one or Redmi 5 plus?

  • I currently have this phone and I have to say it is fab, coming from a Samsung phone I was scared to try it because I don’t know anyone with this make phone and I’m glad I took the jump. It’s another phone company I wouldn’t be afraid of trying

  • my p smart takes about 4 hours to change.. what can I do?

  • my p smart takes about 4 hours to change.. what can I do

  • Is this a good phone ??

  • Thank you so much for the info man, i think ill grab this phone (its a present for my brother and hes not the kind of guy ho likes expensive phones), this coment gave me the definitive yes :a

  • I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. Dual sim or you can add micro sd (up to 256GB) to expand memory for all those pictures and videos that everyone is guilty of keeping. 13MP plus 2MP camera and a powerful led flash. There's a duel camera set up which is great for those who likes to takes a load of photos, it's not the best quality as you would expect from a £500+ phone but good for the money. The photos are definitely much better quality when taken in good daylight but in low light photos seemed a little lacking in clarity and detail. There is a 3000mAh cell, the battery survived a full day of playing music, scrolling through social media, calls and messaging the only issue is that the device support lightning charging. A full charge takes around 1.5hr. Androids have in integrated power saving and extreme power saving option so if you find yourself running low on juice you can switch over to these. The 5.65" LCD with a HD+ screen making the images really clear, vibrant and easy to see. Fingerprint reader so your phones protected but you can easily be opened with a single touch by the owner. There is a headphone jack which is handy as I took i could plug it into my car using an aux cable to okay music. The volume when making calls could be a bit louder but this might be a personal thing as I tend to put it on loud speaker to continue with tasks when making calls. Easy to set up initially and the settings are easy to follow if you want to make any changes. Overall very impressed with this phone, its good quality and definitely worth the money. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking a smart, good performing phone for a fraction of the price of other well-known brands. #PsmartInsiders #TheInsidersUK

  • GFF means Glass Film Film , which LCD has glass on side and two film layers above so it lowers FHD quality and it is cheap. At before Huawei mentions GFF at their old models because no one knows. After incell and oncell become more popular they removed their specs.

  • its not meant to be dropped

  • Please explain what is a GFF display and what is the difference with other brands? Do all midrange Huawei phones use this GFF or only this model?

  • Their LCD is GFF which is very poor FHD display.

  • does it has Gyroscope sensor guys???

  • Hey guys let me know wich one is best for gaming or wich one should i buy ( p smart honor 9 lite or 7x ) wich one is a better performer Not a cam lover just gaming ❤️

  • I got March security patch 8.0.0.130

  • Wow really? If that's the case then Huawei wasn't kidding about becoming number 1 in the smartphone world.

  • Spoke with Huawei Rep in Walsall England yesterday. He said Android 8.1 update round the corner in about a month.

  • I got one of these P Smart models, yet it was barred from making calls. Vodafone had no clue despite 4x attempts to get it to call out. Waiting a replacement. Which is proving annoying actually VF, more resolution and less options please!

  • Looks: very nice & i went for the black one, the matt coated aluminium body! (not bad for a cheapo) attracts finger grease easily even with clean hands. All the holes are in the correct place apart from the speaker which is also weak but expected. Price: Bargain especially on contract. Cameras: superb for the price and ten times better than my companies phone which is a J5. Battery: mid range charges to 25% roughly from flat in 30 mins then trickle charge for the rest for 2 hour lasts a good few days if you only use it lightly. Overall: decent phone for the price and the innards it has.

  • I have been using Huawei phones since 4 years. I bought P Smart one month ago. This phone is mediocre in performance with three major shortcomings. Firstly, it hangs and stops responding screen touch. Secondly, it's camera is worst in nights. Lastly, battery drains out very fast.

  • Not really.... Find nfc software in main (root) but it is only available for one version... Think it is FIG-LX...

  • FIG-LA1 8.0.0. 127(C185)

  • Does this phone have gyroscope sensor? I'm thinking of buying this phone, but first I need to know this information. Thank you in advance! :)

  • I don't think there will be an update to 8.1 at all, although Huawei usually provides at least one major update for their midrangers. We can hope for Android P in the future. Anyway, what's your firmware version? Mine is 8.0.0. 121(C55).

  • Any sign of Android 8.1 for P Smart in any Country in the World. Please advise. Thank you.

  • I want a smartphone with NFC, But I dont know P SMART have it??

  • I can´t decide between Huawei P Smart and Honor 9 Lite and I need your help guys. Keep in mind I will mainly use said smartphone to play games, mainly ROMs on DraStic DS Emulator for Android. With that in mind, which smartphone should I choose? My main concern is BATTERY DRAIN. I know both smartphones have the same 3000 mAh battery, but the question is, which smartphone is more battery-hungry? Which drains battery quicker? According to a a website called "notebook check" Huawei P Smart has a higher battery consumption under load, than Honor 9 Lite. However, reading user opinions here and elsewhere, I see a lot more Honor 9 Lite users that complain about bad battery life, than P Smart users. So which one should I choose?

  • No it does not have fast charging. Takes around 2 hours and 15min to fully charge.

  • What? You must have been very unlucky then :(

  • An honest review! Great camera, good battery, sleek design that better then my iPhone X glass shit design. This does 5 things better then my iPhone X. 1 Much better battery life 2 Alarm goes of even if the phone is off(this is rare) 3 The Fingerprint sensor is far better then face id 4 3 party apps and customization 5 Sharing media in general to like chrome cast There is not much this phone can't do that the iPhone X does. It's not as fast but fast enough, the daily use and the most mainstream apps works perfectly. A regular person that only use their phone for social media and stuff would not see a difference. And you think budget phones can't compare with high end. Well this is the first proof I've seen. I got this as an backup phone now im considering using it instead of my iPhone X. Because things just work better om android and customization is important to me. Two amazing phones 2 prices your choice! This phone cost 2000NOK(Norwegian money) and the iPhone X costed me 12000NOK. I'm just blown away here, there is no reason to buy a high end phone. If your not very into all the new stuff and just like to throw away money :) like me sometimes ;).

  • 8.0.0.129 C432 with february patch.

  • And what do you expect from budget phone? 4000 mAh Gorilla Glass 5 IP67 cert Kirin970 and €200 price tag. You get what you've paid for. I droped mine too but no shatter no nothing. The phone itself is intact.Overall sattisfied with the phone. Battery life is more than good. All day heavy usage and at 9pm its left with 15-20% juice left. I

  • Mine is 8.0.0. 121(C55) - Google security patch. Haven't received anything since this.

  • Such a poor quality phone from Huawei... dropped from a height of less than meter and screen shattered...no gorilla glass protection

  • Whats your build? What is your latest update installed.

  • Not to sure about the battery life and speed of it. I have my p smart for three weeks and it feels like I'm chargining my phone to much at least ones a day. I had a crappie old LG before the battery lasted so much longer

  • So far u had the longest reply of all my queries and many thanks for that. About the battery life I do not have Facebook, listen to streaming music or play 3D games for hours. The most I would do is use GPS & Location Services (Google Maps) for 4 hours non stop and watch Youtube during my morning and evening commute for an hour in total. So perhaps the 3000mAh battery is enough for me? Having 30% by 7-8pm on high usage seem still light years for me. Re the speakers I'm not after stereo surround sound like that of HTC phones. But at the very least as loud or louder than an iPhone? Sunglight legibility of my old P8 Lite is so poor and i felt Huawei's algorythm and calibration of it's panels is not optimised. But can you honestly say on a bright 30c Summer heat I can still view the screen? Does the selfie cam have Manual Settings? I do not care about a Beauty Mode (as it artificially enhances skin tone) but at least a Warm and Brightness option there? Is there a screen flash option on the selfie cam? Would you say indoors in artificial light at nightitime is decent? Does the phone reset and loads up fast? And does it hold up memory i.e. loads the app almost instantly and not refreshes?

  • Hey there Gino. I am a P Smart users, and although this phone is quite a solid Smartphone for its price, I can tell you a few things that may represent a problem according to those specific features you are looking for. I can’t speak for Honor 9 Lite since I don’t have one and haven’t use it or seen it by myself yet, but here’s what I can tell you about P smart: 1.True all-day battery life (or beyond): -P smart battery is good, I mostly watch youtube videos, use social media apps (FB, IN, WH, TW), also a use google maps and chrome app from 7am to 5pm and battery goes down only to 70% or 60% and after that I share wifi through Hotspot from about 2 more hours and ends up on 30% by 7-8pm. However I don’t think its 3000mAh battery would satisfy high to strong demand like playing a lot of videogames or recording videos heavily. So that depends on your personal use on Smartphones. 2. Speakers that are loud enough when you are on crowded London bus or Tube for those emergency calls: -P Smart Speakers are just average, sound is clear and nice but they are not that powerful on open or wide spaces. I usually see videos only with Bluetooth speakers. 3. A screen that has excellent sunlight legibility (in nits or deltagamma) -Screen has a nice light exposure, I have no problems whatsoever on bright days or at night with comfort eye option on, but surely there are phones with more powerful screen light exposure. 4. A decent camera that offers true-to-life/natural photos, has fast autofocus, has some form of video stabilization & more than average low-light photos with features to help the user -Camera is quite good IMO and I had a pleasant surprise on the quality of selfie cam, especially for this price. Dual cameras do a great job with photos at daylight and has some nice effects, however it is not that good on night and it does struggles a little. 5. A phone that supports most if not all of the UK bands & frequencies -I would not know about this one, sorry! 6. A processor that makes apps load almost instantly. Android 8 supporting EMUI 8 make things on this phone run smoothly, I haven’t had a problem so far opening apps, it’s not the most fast phone on the market for sure but it does a pretty decent job. I would like to say too that unblocking this phone with fingerprint is fast, about .030/.80 seconds, so that’s a good plus on this phone. Hope this help and good look choosing your next phone!

  • I'm fed up with my old Xperia XZ as the battery seem poor now despite doing all the tips & tricks of saving battery life having owned/used Android for 8 years. I can get both the P Smart and Honor 9 Lite under £180. But for £199 I could get a used (& working)Galaxy S7 or an iPhone 6S or SE or Moto G5S Plus. And I know EMUI isn't for everyone but my priorities are: 1. True all-day battery life (or beyond) 2. Speakers that are loud enough when you are on crowded London bus or Tube for those emergency calls 3. A screen that has excellent sunlight legibility (in nits or deltagamma) 4. A decent camera that offers true-to-life/natural photos, has fast autofocus, has some form of video stabilization & more than average low-light photos with features to help the user 5. A phone that supports most if not all of the UK bands & frequencies 6. A processor that makes apps load almost instantly. Will i get these features in a P Smart or the Honor 9 Lite?

  • the phone is the best I Love IT

  • I just received a software update for face recognition .476mb.

  • Can users of the P Smart tell me what bugs they have noticed on the handset. Is anyone having call quality issues like people complaining that calls are going from muffled to clear when talking to someone else? I have a friend who has a P Smart and when he phones me I get the above issue during calls. His phone is locked to o2 in the UK (I'm not sure if o2 has messed with the P Smart software or if there is an issue with the handset) All comments welcome.

  • Probably the best budget phone

  • im unable to open any URL on my huawei psmart. what could be the problem?

  • Purchased one week before. Overall a nice phone.

  • I notice that, too. 40 minutes goes up from 30% to 70% or 80%, it is not suppose to support fast charging, isn’t?

  • Huawei p smart or nova 2 plus?

  • this phone seems to have fast charging.. from 35% to 95% in less than 30 minutes.

  • Anybody having software issues with the P Smart? A friend has an O2 version with freezing issues. Please advise of any issues with this handset, thanks.

  • both are amazing at the price considering the honor 9 lite is cheaper but keep in mind they are almost exactly the same phone only different by name and some features.

  • Well I have had this phone from a z2 which is 2014, and this phone is not in the same league. Not enough customisation. Top bar won't hide on web browser, while watching videos etc, camera is reasonable but lacking customisation, quick button. For the price it is probably worth it but compared to an older phone I find it not as user friendly . Some games won't run on it and I find it lagging and lacking in gaming. Also can't seem to handle a phone call while playing a game ,tends to log out. On a plus the WiFi has a better range, videos play well but I find the screen times out and darkens which can be annoying.

  • I personally use a combination of normal camera, pro camera and food camera depending on the lighting and quality I want to achieve and I'm happy overall with it. Maybe try playing a little bit more with lights and colors on pro mode.

  • I am enjoying the process smart my only problem is the camera. Pictures are either too dark or too light in the afternoon. Selfies are better in the evening. What can I do because I've checked settings couple of times and for a phone with double camera I expected pictures with good quality and beautiful selfies.

  • No at all, have you checked notification settings? Be sure that sms are not muted

  • Huawei p smart or Asus Zenfone Max Plus?

  • Huawei P smart Or Samsung J7 max Better?

  • I was using P8-Lite the first version, now I am using the P Smart I would have to say Battery Life is on point and the display is quality as well as the software very cool updates.... Buy it you won't regret (remember it is a budget phone with useful features)

  • Using this phone for sometime now.. Happy overall with it.. But have an issue with sms not giving notification.. When I receive an sms.. The phone does not give a sound or vibration.. Any one has the same problem?

  • Huawei p smart or honor 9 lite?????

  • I have used it for just over a week now. I fully agree with all of this

  • Yes it does

  • does it support otg ?

  • this is a serious competition for Samsung and other Android device out there in this prcietag. i bought three (3) units for my sons. they love it.

  • Huawei processors are not friendly with the battery. Such a big phone should have at least 3300 ma battery. Not bad. I prefer Samsung a series of the last year over this because the battery, speed, charging and display is better

  • Bought this pone two days ago. Pretty happy with its specs and battery life thorough the days. No lag whatsoever and EMUI 8 it’s pretty easy and intuitive to use, I´ve been a Samsung user for quite a few years (P smart replaced my note 4) and it´s my first time using a Huawei and I think this is a good choice for someone who does not want to spend +900 dlls on a phone but want to experience what is like to have a Smartphone with a dual camera and android 8 phone with smooth use. Pictures are pretty good, very vivid colors. It is pretty thin and feels somehow delicate, I was scared to drop at first lol, so strongly recommend to have a case and template glass beforehand. Overall it´s a very solid Smartphone for the price. Specially recommended if you want to jump up from an older phone like me who jumped from note 4 to this one.

  • Huawei phones better than Samsung especially A series.

  • I personally like huawei's new phones especially the 'honor' brand. i have recommended them to all my friends and family and they all now have switched and are happy they have. The spec for this phone is superior than the previously mentioned Samsung a5 and a7.

  • Hi guys i want to buy this phone. Plz tell me how is it's battery life, charging speed, display, cpu speed, other features and gaming performance.

  • Better buy Galaxy A5 (2017) or A7 (2017). Those are better than this even though they are released over a year ago.

  • mate 10 lite

  • Which one is better, Mate 10 lite or P smart?

  • is android pay supported. I read something about it having only a basic NFC chip

  • Is USB OTG supported

  • 3 or 4

  • I have te phone for 1 month now. And the battery time is amazing. It can go easy for 48 hours. If i don't use it much it will last me 3 full days.

  • Huawei P smart

  • What about batterie life time In a day

  • Actual RAM size is 3 GB

  • with a battery of 3000 mAh it must be your use and not the phone.

  • Battery life horrible Takes 4hrs to charge Cant even stand for 12hrs!

  • okay not good for price its same as the nokia 5 kinda

  • Same question dude

  • It's only €200 in Ireland

  • I paired this Huawei "P smart" to my car bluetooh (Nissan Qashqai 2010) but cannot ear sound neither mic works. I used more than 8 phones before with no problemas (Nokia, HTC, SAMSUNG, ...) and now this Huawei does not work. Help in foruns simply do not work.

  • Buy a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus instead. Those Huawei phones that you mentioned have low autonomy. The Redmi 5 Plus has a great autonomy. No double back camera but cheaper, more powerful and with a greater autonomy.

  • Buy a Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus instead. Those Huawei phones that you mentioned have low autonomy. The Redmi 5 Plus has a great autonomy. No double back camera but cheaper, more powerful and with a greater autonomy.

  • I love this phone. Been using for a few days. The android is awesome. Screen is big and everything rolls smoothly. Cameras are great. Really a great choice for the value.

  • can someone tell me its dual sim standby works properly because i recently bought it recently but dual standby is not working so can someone guide me as well

  • Should i buy huawei p smart or huawei p10 lite... Am torn between the two

  • problem only this phone is the battery, drain quickly...4-5 hours only.

  • Screen is very fragile. Second day my child dropped it from an airplane seat and the screen has already dent and a crack.

  • Lags: Yes, when... less than few years. If you buy latest 1000$ flagship, you will see lags in couple of years usage also. Reason: All updates is increasing filesize, updates add features, bugfixes all of there need more cpu power...

  • Its a good phone am not complaining. The back camera takes beautifull pics though the front needs a light backround to take awesome pics (hence 8mp). Storage is not bad if you not a person who uses more space to downlaod large files. The OS take about 10GB so youll be left with 20 to 18GB. But otherwise am happy, its fast and easy to handle.

  • Has anyone used this phone here? kindly inform me about the user experience and if it's worth it. Thanks.

  • do go for experia .i been there stupidly done it.

  • No bashing - deliberately and repeatedly bashing the same brand

  • Don’t have experience of either I’m sorry. But have been eying up both as options for a potential replacement for my wife’s old iPhone. Going by specs, it would seem these two have most things in common, benefits for the 9 Lite are that it’s lighter, and of course the dual front facing camera’s. The P Smart on the other hand offers an fm radio as it’s sole advantage. Considering it looks like the 9 Lite also Sells at a lower price, I’d say it appears to be the better option of the two.

  • Should I get this or Sony Xperia ? Which camera would be better ?

  • Which is better? P smart or honor 9 lite?? Please give your experience and advice

  • Hi, should I buy zenfone 5 lite , huawei p smart or zenfone max plus ??

  • Depends, Mate LIte 10: better camera, more storage 64 vs 32 (of P Smart) More battery more ram 4GB vs 3GB (P Smart) Double selfie camera P Smart Has NFC chip (Mate 10 Lite doesn´t have one) Has Android 8 Oreo out of the box ( probably will get the next Android version) when maybe Mate 10 lite will only get Android Oreo and security patches Cheaper Depends on what you´re after. Both have the same processor. I would choose the Mate 10 Lite, because of the internal storage and bigger screen

  • I wish mobile phone manufactures would get the facial recognition just right, then password's could be consigned to the dustbin of history. Until such a time, it look's like Huawei have a unique selling point. Happy days! Artful Dodger

  • which one is good this one or mate 10 lite?

  • p smart or moto g5 plus?

  • The best screen, camera and battery is the J7 Pro, and if you like ratio 18: 9 and design Huawei P smart. In the Galaxy J7 Pro will have good performance, camera, NFC, AMOLED screen and etc.

  • why? P smart has got more ram, better camera, better processor. Plus it's 18:9 body is just perfect to hold and use

  • definitely the Huawei. it will be a much greater experience than the j7 pro, trust me! you won't regret it.

  • choose the samsung galaxy j7 pro

  • then get another charger, a faster one... thats easy.

  • j7 pro or huawei p smart ??

  • in P Smart specifications did not mention anything about Gyro sensor. it seems that P Smart doesnt have one. is it a weak point or not?

  • I saw the both devices in a mobile shop - P smart has brighter display compared to P10 lite... Also, there is Oreo android version... Better is P smart

  • Did you mean Sony Xperia XA2? This is the new generation mid range from Sony. I had a Sony Xperia Z1 back in the day, now I have a Huawei P10 lite. I think in the long run Sony is better, also software updates are among the quickest to arrive in Android phones (after Google phones). But Huawei has come a long way in the last few years and their mid range to premium line up are very good and competitive. Also if you like IOS, then EMUI from Huawei is the closest you will get in Android. It all comes to personal preferences and past experiences with each manufacturer.

  • This, but just slightly better performance (something like 56000 vs. 62000 in Antutu). Another reason will be that you'll have Android 8.0 out of the box. My opinion, if you have a little more money and you catch a good deal you can get the P10 or the Honor 9, they are far better then both P10 lite or P smart.

  • What is the best this one or Huawei p10 lite?

  • Is there portrait mode in this camera or a good focus ?

  • Should I get this or Sony xperia xa1?

  • Yes it does. You will have to first set up your phone lock. The activate the phones personal safe with should be located under the files app. Then set up your safe

  • You can choose on either P smart or Mate 10 Lite

  • Huawei mate 10 lite or P10 lite

  • does this phone have any chance of getting face unlock security feature like mate 10 lite?

  • check the keyboard settings...

  • Yes almost.but front cam result of mate 10 lite is bit better

  • Its mentioned fast charging in specs. But the charger included in the box is very slow.

  • What about camera proformance

  • I'm using hawei Y6 now, would like this one. does it support video calling?

  • Can any one tell its dual camera result is it like mate 10lite?

  • Yes you can, it is very smooth, but if you are looking for a top performing phone in terms of playing games, you might not enjoy it, but for social media, and basic stuff it is flawless, battery lasts for almost a day with heavy to average use. But trust me you will enjoy it than apple.

  • Should I get this phone? I have currently an iPhone 5c and would like to try an android phone but with good specs

  • I have 5x 3GB RAM version and sometimes lags a lot, but i see lag only in snapchat and instagram when i record clips only. Good value for money. :)

  • I have honor 5X , but am disappointed by its performance it lags a lot, i want to change it so do you recommend getting P smart or will i be facing the same problems ???

  • It supports fast charging and how much take time to fully charged?

  • Hi, Does this phone supports video call?

  • with 3 gb ram /4 gb ram?

  • Do you guys in Huawei only want to fill the world with crap of your nonsense phones we all have these already in many Huawei phones and other brands too. So, either you could make sense with bringing a low priced device in these spcs or you could upgrade the device to meet the new era.

  • yes. its available.. at the price of Rs26,000. ( official)

  • Will it be availble in pakistan

  • Does this phone support fast charging?

  • With all due respect but the weight about this phone is wrong, should be around 143g, hope it can be corrected, thanks

  • You'll be pleased to know you can finally hide the NAV bar!

  • @floepke, it's using microUSB 2.0 just like his sibling Huawei Honor 7X and Huawei Mate 10 Lite.

  • Usb 3 c ?..

  • Buy Nokia 6 2018 instead

  • Get Honor 9 Lite, 7X or Mate 10 Lite

  • Another Kirin 659 for users again and again. Im just waiting in rumored Kirin 670

  • NFC ? Gyroscope ?

  • We are days from 2018 and no gorilla glass protection? It has decent specs for the price, but I would not buy a phone in 2018 without some form of screen protection. It is ridiculous!

  • Cool

  • Oh no back look and no word on the price why? I hate that.

  • Huawei Enjoy 7s is available in bangladesh.

  • 3000mah is too small for me

  • very disapointed for the huawei mid range phone kirin 650~659, very old spec already still keep using. bye bye huawei.

  • Go with Honor 9i

  • There is nothing about price so for its specs and stats it could cost up to 300 or much over 400.

  • 3000mAh+ batteries are in the past, now is 4000mAh+ era

  • I've been wanting a budget 18:9 phone. Do I buy this with Oreo and a Fingerprint Scanner? Or is the LG Q6 a better deal with Gorilla Glass, FM Radio, NFC, and USB-on-the-go?
