Kyocera Brigadier - User Reviews

  • if there only would be a follow-up product same robust, with buttons, same size(small) and the loudness this phone has. I'm searching since 2 years and the closest are the super-ugly CAT phones....

  • This is the toughest, best built phone I have ever seen, bar none. Kyocera, this is how a phone should be made. I have dropped this phone many times, it just takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'. This phone is a beast.

  • I've owned this phone since 2014. I have dropped it many times. This thing is a tank. The sturdiest phone I have ever seen by far. It's military grade for crying out loud! Just how much more tough do you think a phone can get?

  • Not durable enough for what it is made for.

  • Because this is Verizon. Deal with it.

  • why No FM radio man ?

  • this is the best phone ever for hotspot! i have installed foxfi and I can tell you that this phone beats iphone, sony xperia z5 premium and samsung s6 edge! all of them get heating very fast. only this is cold and you can rely on it in every moment. i am using it for 6 months without interruption in hotspot :)

  • push power button and volume down button at the same time.

  • How to take screen shots

  • my system is under root eat shorts broken antennae. please help with question. thanks you

  • How to buy the phone?? Can you all teach me?? I like this phone but i don't know how to buy and where to pay?? I need you to teach me..

  • Hello, somebody figured out how it unblocks the device and make the gsm if yes and power to send email [email protected]

  • my wifi is not work

  • I had the Commando by Casio.... I put that phone to the complete test .. Wow it took every thing I thru at it except a hammer but got outdated and had to go to this Brigadier no comparison it's a good phone but so far I'm not impressed. I have had nothing but trouble ? Went thru 3 of them in one month operating software problems ??? Wish they would make a Commando 2 Thank you

  • I am so glad to have found a rugged phone with place to attach lanyard

  • I would if I had your email been looking for one in new conditions I've had four bought straight from Verizon and not paying retail again

  • Can you give me the e-mail address, please?

  • I contacted them and they said they are under a strict contract with Verizon and cannot sell a network free phone. The road to Europe would've open in front of them just as simple as snaping fingers. In my oppinion it was a huge business mistake. With proper marketing, this phone would've topped the charts as it has some unique features on the market: smart sonic receiver and sapphire glass.

  • Hi. If anybody needs good Kyocera Brigadier phone or you want to fix it, please send me e-mail. Just bought couple of them from US with Verizon. Works like charm in Latvia, Europe. What I did: 1. Remove Verizon bloatware. 2. Installed needed apps. 3. Bought wireless charger (Qi charger). What I like the most in this phone: Sapphire LCD, battery, charging, ruggedness (reminds me about good old Nokia phones), waterproof (don't want to test though). I bought because I was tired of changing LCD for my sony xperia z1 compact. What I don't like: Camera (8 mpx) comparing to Sony Xperia Z1 compact (20 mpx). So recommend for everyone, who is active and at least have broken 2 displays for other phones. This is the best rugged phone in my opinion, just nobody knows much about it.

  • I want to know: I can git it or change it to Arabic language ?

  • Is it possible that I can change the system language english to french or Arabic or any other language , Because it has only 6 languages installed English Español Teing viet And 3 other Asian languages Note : about Google keyboard I know input language changes I want to change whole system language like when switch on phone it will become in french all options Please help me about this [email protected] Your answer and time is more valuable for mE Thanx :) Cheers

  • kyocera should be ashame of theme selves. They know that a lot people are dealing with trying to get it to work with other networks and they are not capable to come up with an unlocked version of this phone. Not even for the sake of making money for the company. That is so sad and selfish.

  • Hello, Please tell me if you unlocked a Kyocera Brigadier - to work in Europe. I want to buy one, but I'm afraid that I will can not use it in Romania.. Please give me a feedback on this address : [email protected]. Thanks in advance !

  • That's nonsense. The torque is smaller, lighter, its screen and cameras have lower resolution etc. Compare yourself: vs

  • would this phone work with pageplus? or what about Mexico? i heard that this phone is meant to work including data all over the world but in the states in any other network, well except for verizon. any help? thanks in advance.

  • Power the phone off then hold the power button and home key to turn it back on when you see the splash screen release them both. This worked for mine I hope it works for you good luck.

  • European buyers look for Kyocera Torque KC-S701. It's a EU version of this phone. The only hardware difference is that sapphire glass was replaced with some other tough screen.

  • would this phone work with pageplus? or what about Mexico? i heard that this phone is meant to work including data all over the world but in the states in any other network, well except for verizon. any help? thanks in advance.

  • I am not sure if anyone else has had thus issue, but my screen is randomly flipping, I turn on the camera and the screen is upsidedown, or some of the app screens are randomly flipping, I have tried to turn it off but there is no change. Anyone else have this issue. Other than that I love the phone.

  • How do i erase my messages on my KyoceraE6782

  • For changing APN to access mobile data check

  • Hi everybody. I am happy to announce that there is a way to use the Internet via the mobile network. I've tested it and it works, at least it works on ORANGE România. Follow the thread on xdadevelopers.com.

  • Hi, mates!! Has anybody tried to get mobile internet with CDMA2000 carrier? ^) i mean EV-DO Rev.B & EV-DO Rev.A tecnology of 3G. Does it work with? Verizon is CDMA carrier and maybe another CDMA sim is appropriate

  • I was sending a reply to your comment and my Brigadier

  • I feel your pain!!! Not only do I hang up on people when trying to answer, but even WORSE I call people with NO intention of doing so just by picking my phone up. This next one blew me away....my screen busted after dropping it from two feet to the ground (pulling it out of my pocket). With no warning, everything on my screen switched to the Spanish language while trying to search for a phone number.

  • I'm in USA. Phone is good except for all the Verizon Bloatware. Why MUST I keep these stupid apps that use my data up, with no choice. It accesses all my info, and uses my data, without my permission. That should be illegal, since any apps I download MUST get my permission to use data and access apps

  • În germany can you use all the.function even gps? But the gps needs internet connection how is it? Thanks

  • This phone is unlocked for call, sms, gps and other features only the.data connection doesnt work only the wifi? Can it be use on 900/2100 frecvencies in europe? No? Also how can i root and delete the verzon stipod apps and adD the APN to use the 3g data network internet? Thanks a lot...

  • Hello, i`m from Germany. How i can edit the APN ? I have no mobile Network in Germany Thanks a lot

  • Kyocera HYDRO ELITE is king - we may say it's previous version of Kyocera Brigadier, but HYDRO has root(possibility to Edit APN) from the beginning. root -> edit /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony.database/telephony.db with SQLite Editor -> APN is not empty -> we have mobile internet.

  • The japanese version of the CA-201L is still the king. It doesn't have the "smart sonic receiver" but from what i have heard its really gimmicky.

  • Kyocera Brigadier (Verizon) Root, BOUNTY thread.

  • We're not talking about LTE here, only about data (2G/3G) internet with local GSM carriers - 2G, 3G data doesn't depend from radio frequencies(like LTE) and should work with ALL GSM providers, so we have Verizon's software lock. Guys who have Internet access may open complaint against Verizon at bbb.org - it's serious company with specialization in consumer protection. How do it description in details here: It take about 5 min. do it pls. I've checked mobile Internet connection (2G or 3G) (I'm in Kazakhstan now) with my Kyocera Brigadier using different SIM-cards from 3 different GSM-operators: Tele2, Kcell (TeliaSonera) and Beeline. But the result was every time the same - NO ANY MOBILE INTERNET connection (neither in 2G nor 3G), but Voice and SMS work as intended(with GSM SIM-card). Familiar from Latvia give next info - there no DATA(2G,3G) with next local GSM carrier : BITE, LMT, TELE2. From Russia GSM carrier - MEGAFON - there no DATA(2G,3G) . We don't know any example where DATA(2G,3G) works with non-Verizon SIM-cards. As the manufacturing company Kyocera sent all complaint to Verizon as the operator, who set software LOCKS on this phone. But Verizon forwarded me to the local GSM carrier and to Kyocera manufacturer. As result, I still don't have mobile internet connection (2G, 3G) at all. Verizon should allow to manual edit APN (Access Point Name) at smartphone(Without contract version), its standard feature of Android which was locked by Verizon. In this case we will have mobile Internet for Smartphone Kyocera Brigadier with GSM SIM cards(other than Verizon's).

  • Response from KYOCERA site: Thank you for contacting Kyocera Communications Inc. This message is in response to your email regarding the APN settings on the Kyocera Brigadier E6782. I am sorry for the inconvenience, allow me to assist you with this matter. At the time, do allow me to tell you that we never said that the phone was or is unlocked. Allow me to tell you that we don't have official retailers of our phones outside the U.S. However I will provide you with information about the phone and how you can acquire it. The Kyocera Brigadier comes with a CDMA technology, and does not uses a regular service SIM card. This phone uses a SIM card only to enable the 4G LTE Service if your service provider enables this service. Also, our phones are not factory unlocked, only the service provider is able to provide such codes as in for this case it would be Verizon. However as in for this case as well if the service provider you are planning to use the phone with is able to provide you such codes. So you will have to contact in this case the service provider to provide you the codes if they are able to do so. And if you are sure that the phone is able to be activated with any service provider you can buy the phone online through any webpage such as Amazon, eBay etc.

  • Hi, I am in Germany and I use DTAG (German Telekom) as carrier. They use 800/1800/2600 MHz frequencies for LTE. Brigadier can handle 700/1700/2100 => LTE will not work. Regardless of this even UMTS will not work before APN can be edited. I a looking forward to any post with a solution. BR Peter

  • I'd like to disable quick responses on this phone. Three times today I hung up on someone who called me by just pulling the phone out of my pocket in an attempt to answer it. I actually changed ALL the quick responses (that I can't delete) to ask that they call me back 'cause I didn't really mean to hang up on them. If I want to hang up the phone after the screen goes dark I can't do it. I pressed everything on the phone and it stayed black until the other person hung up. I had two voice mail messages today and didn't know it 'till I opened up the screens on my phone. If I could get rid of all the bloatware on the phone that would be great too. This is my first smart phone -- I thought it might be more useful, and it is, kinda, but when it comes to using it as an old fashioned phone I'll take a flip phone over this any day.

  • I am in Europe, If I put verizon nanosim I don`t have signal, and APN apear but can`t edit, if I put local carrier nanosim the page with APN apears blank and no function to create or edit, need help, thanks

  • Best for me,,,but still i cntnot use mobile data. Bcos itss unlock,,,need advice how to unlock this sim. On Verazon

  • Greatest phone I've ever bought enough said.

  • Hi, did anyone manage to get the APN and data connection working on this phone in Europe? So far I've read two contradictory posts here by Swanten32 (that it works) and Just Me (that it does not). Which one is it? It would seem like a brilliant phone, but not without a data connection.

  • I work overseas and this phone seems perfect for what I do, but I need the data. Are you positive that it is not just an issue with the parameters, or is it locked to Verizon? That would be most unfortunate. Not since the MIKE phone has something so rugged been available.

  • I can confirm problems with mobile data transfer! no ways to add apn to use it with another service provider!

  • Hello, is it unlocked?

  • Hello, Please tell, where did you buy it? Do you like it? Is it unlocked? Thanks a lot!

  • I took my chance and bought this phone. I bought with the full retail price (no contract) because I travel a lot and want to use the phone with different carrier. The phone is global ready (as stated in Verizon website) and can be used with other carrier BUT ONLY FOR CALL! The data (2G/3G internet) IS NOT WORKING. The stupid verizon locked it!! I was very disappointed with this! The only way to enable data is by root the phone and add APN manually, but there is no way we can root the phone right now. The only way to use the internet is by wi-fi. Also we need to root to remove a lot of Verizon's bloatware! Otherwise this is a VERY GOOD and STRONG phone! The strongest phone ever! Decent spec, nice design (very manly), NFC, Wireless Charging, etc.. Hopefully somebody will have a way to root it. get your facts right and do not get poor sam confused.

  • finally. thanks for the answer sr. i just hope that if i buy it and just in case wont get the 4g lte signal i can get my money back. for that i have to ask the verizon guys. you don't work for verizon do you? thanks again.

  • It is in fact unlocked, just pop your tmobile sim in and restart the phone!! You can go to the verizon website, and look at the 4G LTE phones, all of them are unlocked! :):):)

  • i read that verizon was making their lately devices unlocked. so is not the case with this phone? it has the right frequencies to work with t-mobile's 4g lte according to gsm arena. or needs to be rooted? any help out there? thanks
