Lenovo A806 is the Worst purchase I have ever made, It has a root virus in it from the factory which installs anything it wants on the phone including porn and fishing software. I have had it to phone shops that claimed to uninstall the all software and re-flash it and yet the virus is still there. This has completely put me off of buying any more Lenovo products.

Bought this recently in Malaysia. Good phone with really good specs. But almost wanted to throw it at the wall because of 'ussd' problem & the new update doesn't allow rooting. Tried many ways from Framarrot to Kingoroot. My advice is, if you have an idea on how to flash a new rom, then go for it. Once you manage to install a new rom, root it & uninstall the 'Lenovo Security'. Choose a rom that you can flash using a flash tool like SP Flash Tool. Battery wise it's ok. Last more a day on standby & 8hours++ with low usage. But for gaming, the phone will overheat & drain very fast. Still trying to figure how to overcome this.

I`ve tried with hard reset, and then didn`t use the option to lock screen. Only to slide the image to unlock it, and it worked for me. There are no pop-ups this way. So try to not use the lock-screen option.

I think it's because the onlineshop where I bought it installed some apps or files in the Lenovo, and then one day, every time I unlock the screen, it shows adds. Like a malware or something. I've tried to erase this files but I couldn't. Also tried to do a factory reset but it didn't solve the problem. If I can solve the problem, I'll post it.

All your problems with Lenovo A 806 can be solved by making Root with King Root. The problem with this phone is the fact that is comes with Malware included in system apps as DC share or Fun Weather. Install Anti Malware Malwarebytes. Scan and delete infected apps than delete Kg Root because it is treated unsecured by Malwarebytes. The end. Problem solved! The phone works fine.

Hi all, Use the phone for 1year already. No issue except when one time I update the official firmware which was for internal China (no gapss and most of the software in Chinese ). Re-Flash to custom Rom but last week it just suddenly restart by it self, but stuck on the logo then it will restart again & again. I am an owner of this phone and what i can say is the fact that the battery is good. If you want have good battery do this steps: 1. Go to integrated application Battery and recharghe with calibration (u must have less then 15 % off the battery); 2. Enter in Security App and forbid apps from autostart ; 3. Dont't keep to many apps (from Security go to Ignore list-set just a few apps to run even you use cleaning. 4. Donwload an other launcher that consume less battery (Ex: Hola,Apus); 5. Don't use Chrome because it consumes a lot off battery. The End !

Well let me advice something,if you buy a A806 chinesse phone,my recomendation is "do mess with any google apps because is part of the ROM";if you eraser any of this apps going to start show a message "google play services stop" unfortunalitelly download a new ROM is not that easy,sometimes you has to do a "hard reset" and afther that you w'll missing the USB original driver on you phone and you not be able to sync with any PC.

I added a new A806 Lenovo bought for Malaysia market, to be used along with my year old Xiaomi 1S. One disappointment with this A806 is the difficulty/inconvenience to transfer datas between internal memory and external extended SD memory. Even switching the writing disk function at system setting->storage does not respond to its change. In camera function, storage into both memories can be chosen. Please throw me some light into this problem.

The problem of this phone is the software side only. The solution is reflash the rom to newest stable version. This phone supports 4G in Malaysia (I'm using maxis) provided if you choose A806 and not the chinese version A808t. The camera is ok and working just fine. In fact I'm using this phone to reply to your comment. Been using for a year now

When I bought my Lenovo A806, from a Chinese e-shop there where two models. One only for chinese market and one for other countries. The chinese version didn't support european networks. Maybe you have the wrong version.

The infamous ussd bug has been gone if you manually update to new version. Not update by the phone, but manual flashing. You can find the rom at needrom and search a806 official rom. Make sure to choose ST (stable) and not other version.

This phone has two version. Since your sister bought from china it must be A808t, which can be used in china only. The other one, A806 can be used outside china. You can't do anything about it because of hardware limitation

You can root using Kingroot app.Just searh for Kingroot apk.Install and run Kingroot.And after rooted , install Mobileuncle tools from play store.Use Mobileuncle to flash TWRP or CWM recovery. Once you have TWRP or CWM reovery , you can install AOSP or MIUI ROM for A806 .

Yeah I've the same problem, you need to save the number as a local number, and as an international number like in Ireland I would save as +353 UK +44 if you get me. Your phone book reads one and your messages read the other. It's not the best solution but it works

hey, I wonder why my phone keeps restarting when I plucked it out from the phone charger. But the problem won't happen when I'm charging the phone or keeping it stuck to the charger. This phone (A806) caters any telcos up to 3G. As mentioned in comments, you can get LTE all major telcos like Maxis, Digi, Celcom. But since Umobile is using Maxis radio spectrum it will have 4G as well. I'm using Maxis also got 4G connection. When first you got this phone you will notice bad english/chinese translation and frequent "X program stopped working". Over The Air (OTA) update give more problems. However update by manual flashing (find them on Needrom) will not give any problems. So it's recommended not to click update if the phone shows update is available. After this step then you can use with no problem. This phone is not recommended for those who didn't want to do extra work after you bought them. If people want to buy please choose A806 model only. the other one (A808t) will not usable in other country outside china. cheers

The internal memory supposed to be 16GB but A806 could not handle the same number of application I had in a Samsung Galaxy S3 internal memory 8GB. after a week I couldn't insert the charger in the USB Port so I couldn't charge the battery. i always using 4g..yup a806 most of the best phone..but i just using 4g if needed..if u always turn on 4g network, that network will using your data i large quantity..so u will last your mobile data shortly..but its ok if you have unlimited data from your network vendor.

i got some problem solution....have u exprerience that your a806 hanging, freez while calling, playing games, also became slow sometimes?..in my experience i feel unhappy with this problem and always think to buy other model..but i change my mind because i just found the solution in all of this problem..most important after using this phone is u need to clear a ram..but how?...ok u just hold press the menu icon(on the centre below) then u will see a tasking..then press on circle left of the tasking viewer...when u always clear a ram, your phone will work in good condition and save your battery usage..urm u also can create a refresh ram icon on screen..just find your security app(official lenovo)..click on 3 line up side left-->setting-->clean up shortcut..done then i will suggest you to use this security app as well, this app have a good function and needed by a806..such as speed up ram, u can select just needed aplication running ur phone ram usage.. how??..ok just go to security app, select speed up-->auto start apps-->turn off all except app u need always to allert u, such as facebook, email, wassup, wechat and so on..but if you really want to save ram usage just off all application auto start-->restart your phone..if you get a problem, just turn it on auto start back.. and with this security app, u also can block app to collect your data, in privacy guard ok, if you like to root ur a806, just make sure dont uninsttal this security app... ok bye, hope helping you

Camera is good. However it feels like 8mp stretched to 13mp. It got autofocus and dual led flash. In the end you get what you pay for this price. If you want to get make sure its A806 and not A808t. Flash Vibe UI to newest stable version, remove all bloatware apps and you're pretty much ready to go

update your VIBE UI. when first time I got this phone I have same problem as you. Either you send to the technician where you bought this phone to update or update it yourself. However if you want to update yourself you need to delete everything and flash the updated rom manually since automatic update is not working outside china

A806 is marketed for chinese market only that can be used outside China. Not for international market. It will support all countries up to 3G. For 4G LTE it only supports only two instead of multiple bands like normal LTE-ready phones. Why? Because it's Lenovo.

USSD patch at your own risk though. Make sure to make backup for precaution. Don't update Vibe UI through your phone. It will not work or buggy. You need to flash it manually. Look previous comments for guide

You need to manually update the vibe ui by flashing your rom. Search on "needrom", find A806 rom (official). There will be 2 version. Choose ST version (stable) instead of DEV (beta). You can find instructions

It will work up to 3G since A806 is using euro standard gsm. However for 4G LTE this phone does not support all 4G bands. Make sure that your telco is using either 1800 or 2100MHz band if you want to utilize this connection. Do not buy A808T since it is for china market only

I have been using this phone for over 1 week and I am very satisfied as it is very fast with good specs and a nice screen, a bargain for its price (RM509.00, parallel import and nice all-white colour). I've no experience using zenfone 5. So I don't know. However on specification this phone has larger advantage on cpu, ram and gpu than zenfone 5. Only disadvantage is decent camera and update support. For 4g this phone supports celcom & maxis while other telcos are only 3g. If you want to grab this phone I suggest to buy on onegadget or directd store. That's where I bought this phone. Now about RM490 only. Yes it's really 13mp, however the sensor used might not 13mp at all. It almost like 8mp stretched to 13mp. Same goes to the front camera, even it is 5mp but the picture is grainy. Either way if your main purpose is camera you might have to look another phone

I'm using this A806 months ago. in overall the phone is ok with the price range. 720HD more then enough for all the game and movie. and many app from play store also can enhance the phone to be more better. the only thing disappoint me is the main camera which is declare at 13mp. but is terrible.... focus is bad only up to certain extend. I'm still trying with variance camera app to see which match with this camera module. if any one have better camera app to introduce please let me know. Besides China it called A808t most of the country are AP set called A806. Difference is A808t support LTD 4g & A806 support FDD 4g. An disadvantage for A806 you can't simply update the new android version or the vibeui event there is a new version available. because is AP set Lenovo no support in their platform, as this A806 is imported by the dealer/seller but not official launch by Lenovo. so if you want to update go back to dealer/seller don't ever update yourself by clicking auto update. You phone will be in trouble.

Nice phone but don't expect 4G all over in uk only supports 2600 mhz. this is fine but uk coverage better on 800 mhz. unfortunately this mobi does not support 800 mhz on 4G. If you want it for the 4G forget it limited by range with 2600mhz. Used now for two months fine for games etc. latest ota rom update messed up google, so no access to Gplay etc, needs sorting but not officially for uk market according to Lenovo themselves ( nice cheap price for what u get)

I agree. In the end you get what you pay. I've been using it about 2 months for now and overall satisfied with this phone. You can't expect high quality hardware for this price but at least it's working. Main reason I choose this phone is the 2GB memory and 8core 1.7Ghz A7 CPU. If people want a top tier camera (true 13mp sensor) they can consider another phone instead.

hi i am using this phone at first the only problem i had was th battery but and phone too hot. aftre reading many unuseful comment and a lot of reasearch which ended up for nothing. but the i discoved that the proble was being caused by the software itsef. it has may unsueful application already installed specialy the bttery saver all you need is to diable those apps and set some power saving feature and battery can last two days surfing on 4g frequently.

You're joking, right? They don't sell it worldwide, they sell it in CHINA ONLY. A806 is only for China Unicom (of course, it probably works fine in many other countries but that's your problem if it doesn't). Also you're completely off about no updates as well, the latest update is from 2014/11/20 which is _yesterday_.

Can u list down your a806 problems. As far as i know most a806 bugs has been fixed. Info: there is 2 version of rom for a806, multilanguange & chinese+english. Each one has different type of bugs. If your vibe ui version is 14xx.xx something, then your rom is chinese+english version

For those who are heavy users, temperature for this phone can go up to 42°C when playing games (tested with Asphalt 7). Really smooth, no lagging at all. The camera quality is okay. My Antutu score for this phone is about 3200+ points, quite good since it has octacore CPU and 2GB memory. If you want to root this phone please know what you're doing since the recovery mode is quite confusing because of bad English translation.

I update my phone to lenovo vibe ui 2.0 and need to root and install google apps back myself. I think because the update only meant for china region and not international.

Got one today in Malaysia. Unfortunately mine got software bug (looping error) so I have to get it replaced. Further inspection on from XDA Developer user showed this phone is not Android at all, it uses Aliyun OS which is some China derivative for Android. That makes sense since it got so many errors and spelling errors. The USSD window is so small you can't even see the entire message. On hardware level it's decent.

Decent pic.decent music. Never hang (for now).since it have 2 gigram.and the processor are octocore(8 core).easy heating when you play game. Battery life are average . There some problem with theme and weather app.but you can download lenovo theme and wallpaper on lenovo sj.lenovo.com. excellent, with antutu benchmark more than 33k. but i think the wifi adapter is a weak type. my old phone can detect a 2 bar wifi (weak wifi signal) while this phone detect the wifi with 1 bar and have inconsistent connection with a weak wifi signal, but have no problem with moderate wifi signal. overall this phone is excellent :)

There are 2 version. A808t which only support china 3g/4g. The other version, A806, has gsm, wcdma(hspa+) and lte. But lte support is limited only 1800/2100mhz so it wont work with all 4g network. Phone is okay, both cpu and graphics fast enough.Screen is average not very bright.Speaker quite loud.Gps takes time to lock but it does work. It does NOT have compass or notify led.

Actually there is 2 model for Lenovo A8, first one is td scma model its 3g is only usable in China. second one is fdd lte model is for other regions its 3g is usable in every region because its baseband system is wcdma.So if you ll buy fde version it ll be just fine.

for me i change my mind to buy lenovo phone till now its ok but in the future i will never spend my money on this phone in any case for android samsung sony LG and htc are the best of best and for IOS is the iPhone is the best of all best of android of course so please my friends do not spend ur money on these devices it is true that they are cheap but u will throw ur money to the trash because u cannot depend on lenovo or other cheap phones .... thanks
