This phone is not what we think it is, i bought mine 2 days ago and have been trying to connect it to the computer as per provided tools but failed and am still failing to do so. When i bought it labelled as LG MG 530 and even the box was written like that.

i think this is the ugliest phone i ever use!!.....but anyway, lesie.. if u want to tansfer mp3 or acc file to your phone follow this step, you have to install the usb driver first than switch your phone to transfering data and connect your phone cable to your computer!...but not all computer works, some may not.

Has its limits. Cannot get a decent cover other than at a flea market. I have tried to get this phone to connect to various different computers after loading all the sofware provided with the phone. Not a chance. I feel tempted to take the whole thing to LG and let them show me exactly how it is done. Basically I was disappointed as this was my first Mp3 phone that could supposedly connected to a computer.

Basically, there are two ways of getting ringtones onto the F1200. MP3 or MID files both types of ringtones can be obtained from various sites on the internet. 1. To transfer MID ringtone files onto the phone. You will need to use LG Mobile Agent to to do that. There is a limit on the size of the MID ringtone file - 50 Kbytes. Max is 20 MID files. Basically, you need to start the LG Mobile Agent and set the default MID file directory to where you have stored your MID ringtones on your computer and transfer them to your F1200 that way. 2. MP3 Ringtones it much easieras you do not need to connect using LG Mobile Agent software. You just connect your phone to your computer and it will recognise it like it is 'USB flash memory'. But before you can access the 64 MB memory on your phone. Don't forget to enter the access pin - default is "0000" or else you cannot download anything to your phone. Hope this helps.

I dont know what the fuss is all about ? I bought my phone off ebay (new) and took a little time to work out how to get music on it ( use a mp3 converter like DB power amp to convert music )and it has been faultless so far ... Great phone !!!!!!

LG F1200 could have been a better phone, but mine keeps on shutting down like hell, in fact I withdraw better, the phone is nonsense. LG should stick on producing sound and music player systems and leave the phone industry to experts like Nokia.

Montana I had that problem when I brought the phone. The solution is simple, it will only recognise picture size 96x96. for photo call and phonebook.

Hi, My Wim XP does not recognize the phone as a USD drive. Mobile agent is so slow to transfer mp3 and you have to upload the songs one by one. Is there any other way to do that without using mobile agent? thanks

i am using this mobile for the last 5 months,and i have experienced many problems with this cell. 1)It automatically shuts down....its magic It shuts down whenever i make a call and at the sametime if someother person tries to call me at the sametime. 2)The software which is provided dosent work..god knows why? i bought the phone on last August and have problems on Dec. There are two problems. 1) the phone power off by itself. 2) the attenta receivign is normal but it can not receive or make any calls. i need to reset to resume service. I had personally submit the phone to LG support in Hong Kong for 5 times. they had performed program reset, cleaned the PCB, replaced the PCB and the last itme replaced the display unit. But the phone still has the problems every day. i went to the support center last week, and explained to them that casue me very trouble and requested them to commit the solution, but they didn't commit anything. i have totally no confidence on them and did not allow them to collect my phone. What should i do now?

Can anyone tell me how to access the software on the disc that comes with the phone as it appears to be only for PC's? Is there a drive for Macs anywhere??? The phone icon doesn't even appear on my desktop when I use the USB port to connect it.

I feel the phone needs some seriously level of software testing to be done. There are a lot of bugs (crashes) which cause the phone to re-start from time to time. Maybe LG needs to re-vist the functionality that the MP3 stops playing and restarts when a call is recieved. Such things are indeed trivial from the point of development and must be implemented. This phone has a very good speaker system, but what makes it appaling is that inspite of such a good speaker system it does not provide an hands free operation for reciving and making calls. Battery life is quite good considering the two color displays. Color rendering on the LCD is of High quality. The software package which comes with it is of the LOWEST quality known to mankind. Overall the performance is something which one does not expect from a company like LG. They really need to give a good updrade for this and think about their future products to be inline with the general quality standards of companies like Nokia and Sony Erricson.

Juz got this phone today but reali hav BIG BIG problem transfering the song from the comp to the phone...as it indicate - cannot find the specified file.Make sure you specify the path and filename.where i actually juz copy from my MP3 directly and that was wat it say....HOW somebody help....

Im not sure as I havent got my phone yet but a place you can get free polyphonic ringtones is www.polyphonicringtonez.com you go that site, find the tone you want, and then go to the mobile address, it will tell you what it is and then type in the polytone ID and then just download it, I have been doing it with my last 3 polyphonic ringtones enabled phones.

How do u load pictures on the computer or load them on to the phone. I don't know how to use the LG Mobile Agent. It takes such a long time to figure out how to load MP3 and etc. They don't really explain it clearly in the manual.

Andrew To upload/download pictures you need to install the Software that comes with the phone. LG Agent, once installed you can use it to transfer photos, wallpapers to/from your phone to your PC. It not like MP3 file transfer where you can download file directly to the phone. Regards, Johnny

I brought this phone 6 weeks ago. Everything works fine. Setting up the LG agent software was pretty easy, once thats done you can download MP3, wallpapers, and MIDI's to the phone. The one thing I found out was that some MIDI file may not play on the phone - but they seems to be the ones with 12 channels or more. The reception is very good, the battery life is ok - especially with 2 screens. The previous phones I have had Nokia, Motorola , SonyEricsson cannot compare. The twin speaker gives reason music quality if you like to play your MP3's out loud. Overall, my best mobile phone to date.

When you turn this phone off it turns it self back on and says its charging WTF... then goes off then on and off and keeps doing it. Also it has no video recorder. otherwise its a good phone but nokia 6230i is the best. email me with questions!

Well to load mp3s to the phone you connect it with the usb cable that comes with the phone then a pop up comes up saying theres new hardware fould go on that and in there it has next or somthing like that then it installs on the computer then go to the song you want to send to the phone then right click on it and go send to then there should be "NAND" mine sometimes says :F removable disk when that happens i disconects then reconect... and the front display turns off in about 10 sec and then you have to open the phone or press the middle play button on the outside. otherwise i think its a gr8 phone. any more questions feel free 2 ask!

Me again. This is a great phone. Good reception and audio quality. I got no problem connecting via infra or the usb cable. I suggest to use the usb cable as downloads are faster. As for the number of mp3 songs that can be downloaded to the phone, convert your mp3 from using 128kbps to 96kbps. I got about 20 songs in my phone that way. The sound is still the same. Got a lot of free softwares over the net to do it. Never regret buying the phone. My next target is the LG M4410....

I`ve posted here before and was saying that i couldnt connect the phone to the pc with usb or infrared. Well, fiddled with the LG software and installed it again and got it!! its great! i had to get the LG uSB modern right. It only dowmloads MP3 files (no mpeg)and probably i think max 8-10 songs. But still my infrared does not work. dunno why... my playlist does display on screen. So far loving the phone, its a nice looking fone with great reception (much better than samsungs)and the mps songs sounds great with speaker*** vibration is strong but feel that its a little user friendly with the menu. Overall i give 9/10!

It is a good phone. No complains. The reception and audio quality is really great better than most nokia phones. But I got a question, when ever i check the playlist, it does not display anything. Anyone can help with this. But I can play the songs and all...only can't view the playlist.

Hi, i just got my F1200 last week and got it direct from LG company in Korea. The phone looks awesome and it has a sporty but modern stylish outlook. the internal antenna is great, the connection is good and it plays music like a real player. It has 64mb space for music and thats about one hour music in duration. But one thing that annoys me is that it only has 1 MB storage for photos and 1.5MB for MMS storage. The camera works moderately good and the hands free cord comes with 2 ear piece so its good for listening. Also another problems is that somehow i cant connect the phone to the PC with the USB cable and the infrared. The software was no prob to download but somehow the it doesnt work. Read some other reviews and said the same thing. Dunno if its just my phone or the model`s fault. The display screen is great and the outer screen also is good. It seems much bigger than 128x160. You can even take pictures when the phone is closed and see yourself while taking the photo with the external screen. Anyways, sums up for F1200!

The design of phone in this picture is little bit different from what I saw CeBIT 2005. The real model is better than this in my opinion. Especially the sound is very good. I already heard MP3 music when I went to CeBIT 2005, the 3D sound was almost like real MP3 player. And also the remote controller was very confortable to use.
