LG K30 - User Reviews

  • in serbia ,price is 105 eur for lg k30 -new .

  • LOTS of people... apparently much smarter than you... have separate cameras "these days." Beyond my cell phone, I have a digital card camera with physical focusing capabilities, a digital SLR, and a 35mm film SLR. Each has its own role to play. The cell phone camera is great for spur of the moment snapshots. However, having "filters" for digital post-processing isn't remotely the same as capturing raw information. No digital filter can replace actual optical depth-of-field control, for example, nor provide you with decent macro-photography capabilities, both of which my little card camera can still manage, making it superior to my phone's camera suite (Samsung Galaxy S10, which has three separate cameras on the back to accommodate three different focal setups!). My digital SLR can take the same full range of different lenses my film SLR accepts, the same flashes, etc, can literally adjust most photographic parameters (instead of faking their effects in software post-processing) and can do almost anything. My film SLR is my least-used camera, but as it shares accessories with my digital SLR, that's no real ptoblem. And it can give me film-based effects digital work can't replicate, plus can use unique film stocks that give it a range no single CCD sensor can possibly replicate. Even IR film... try THAT with your phone's camera! A phone camera is just fine for casual use, sure, KID. But enough with the silly chest-beating. We "grandpas" (apparently, to you, anyone over 21?) will be happy using the right tools for the right jobs, whether or not you and your "kewl kids" pals agree.

  • Technically, "badging" is there, but is turned off by default. You have three options for "badging." (1) Badges Off, (2) Badges without number inside, (3) Badges with number inside. I just turned it from #1 to #3 last weekend on my mom's K30. So I'm 100% certain of this.

  • Please Note... There are internal storage 32GB versions (TMO) and internal storage 16GB versions. This is not made clear on this website.

  • This is a great phone! The camera on here is great! Good amount of storage. RAM and CPU are good. The display is great. And it recently got the Android Oreo 8.1 update. However, one problem. I try to scroll through the Metro By T-Mobile website, but it was laging. That's the only website that lags. But it is still a great phone!

  • After looking at this LG K30's specs, it isn't appreciably better than my K20 Plus, other than a slightly bigger battery and Android Nougat 7.1 instead of 7.0. My wife and I have identical phones and we added a 3rd line for her GF who was given an LG Aristo 3 free for switching service to Metro. We are saving $20 a month for our cell service for doing so, but the rep still tried to talk my wife into "upgrading" to this model for $200 plus tax for both of our phones....definitely NOT worth it. I will upgrade to an Android 9 "Pie" phone that is next OS gen 10 Q eligible....maybe late next year. s/b interesting in the meantime to see how Google will find a sweet dessert starting with the letter "Q" for Android 10...b/c there aren't any!! (in the English language, anyway).

  • Anyone who wants to take a decent picture will have a separate camera. The camera phone can be 500 megapixels and it will not matter unless the sensor is good enough to capture off the data. A DSLR camera has a sensor the size of a 35mm camera film. Most phone cameras sensors are the size of your pinkie fingernail. Hugh difference. Its the reason why a picture on a 12 meg DSLR camera can be blown up with little or no distortion. And why a 50 meg phone camera picture gets blurry very fast when enlarging. Bottom line, if you are serious about your pictures do not use your camera phone, use a DSLR or equivalent.

  • It's a POS mine keeps saying that it has to be warmer than it should be to beable to charge. Or it will say the battery has been removed or the sd card has been.... The battery can't come out and i never take out the sd card it's a waste of money

  • Ringtone volume goes down to 0 by itself.....Dont buy this phone!

  • To get your Voice Mail you have to have the DATA ON?!?!? - OUTRAGEOUS. Uses your data which really is a cellar function!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT A POS AND RIP OFF!!!!!!!!!! Anyone have a work around?????

  • Megapixel This term refers to the size of an image, usually in reference to a photo from a digital camera or camera phone. A megapixel means one million pixels. The resolution of digital cameras and camera phones is often measured in megapixels. For example, a 12-megapixel camera can produce images with 12 million total pixels. Since pixels are usually square and form a grid, a 1-megapixel camera will produce an image roughly 1200 pixels wide by 900 pixels high. A high number of megapixels matters most when zooming in or cropping a photo. For example, some phones let users "zoom in" without losing quality, without an optical zoom lens. They do this by simply cropping an 8-megapixel photo from the center of the original 23-megapixel image captured by the camera (for example.)

  • Ppl have separate cameras because phones take pics but cameras are actually made for taking pictures and you can tell as much in the pic quality of a standalone camera phone cams take pics but arent made for actual photography boyo

  • for $200 something thats not an entry level POS

  • Ok. My k 30 is climatic. I was in new York for two week. And My phone work perfecto!! I came down to puerto rico Star doping crazy thing like off on off on. And chat Star before My trip here in puerto rico.!!! He likes cold wheather?

  • Incorrect.. A megapixel is literally 1/1,000,000th of the dots you see.

  • There sure is a lot of judgment coming from someone who can't properly use punctuation. Smh.

  • I have more than one camera aside my cellphone

  • So, is your spelling---TERRIBLE!! Using spell check suggestions given at top of typing screen, will make you look less ignorant!!!

  • I didn't have the microSD card capacity correct. Apparently it will accommodate a 2TB microSD card ... according to: In my original post, the em-dashes are preceded by an uppercase A with a circumflex accent over it. I don't know why. I didn't type that letter when I wrote the original post.

  • I had the LG K10 and dropped it. The screen shattered. So I bought the LG K30. I think it's an awesome phone. It sends and receives phone calls. AWESOME! It also has a nice camera that takes kick-a55 pictures, and a "selfie camera" that I won't use because I'm ugly as sin. The battery charges so fast, it's wonderful. Although the phone is physically ugly — flat-black and boxy (I loved my rosegold colored LG K10) — it's fast, it has crystal clear sound, it has (in my opinion) tons of built-in storage, and can accommodate a whopping 32GB microSD card (which is way more storage than I'll ever use). Plus, I have a nice koi fish pond background where the fish actually swim around on screen (except when I'm using the music player, which overwrites the fish pond with a swirly blue background). Joy of joys, it comes with NextRadio pre-intsalled, a clock, a stopwatch, a timer, unlimited (as far as I know) alarms, a music player, a headphone jack, a calendar, a flashlight, a decent calculator (which I replaced with RealCalc), all the Googleware one could ever want, a beautiful, high resolution, crystal clear, color display, lightning-fast responsiveness, a fingerprint identification feature, and so much more. Plus, the battery lasts and lasts — although, full disclosure, I don't watch a lot of movies or play any games on the phone. Phones do so much now. Young folks might not appreciate the power and versatility of modern mobile phones, but I come from the days when we had rotary dial phones and party lines (where two different houses had to share a line, and if you wanted to make a call, you picked up the phone receiver and hoped that the other family with whom you shared a landline wasn't on the phone at that time — nowadays, that wouldn't work because one family would murder the other, literally, for being on the phone too long or at an inconvenient time).

  • Buyer beware. I purchased this phone thinking that many features were standard on all phones, like badging. This is the feature that gives you a visual cue on the app icon that you have a message. Well, this phone does not have this for voicemail. I discovered this after missing a couple of important messages. I wonder how many other "standard" features are missing.

  • You realize megapixels represents the size of the image, not quality right?..

  • LOL, who has a seperate camera these days? It is 2018 grandpa, get with the times.

  • Just got this phone yesterday. I have had several people tell me they find it difficult to hear me in calls. My Facebook keeps closing I as soon as I open it and there is plenty of phone storage left!

  • Absolute junk! The camera isn't 13MP. It's produces fuzzy and inferior images. The hot spot for USB is grayed out, and the Wi-Fi hotspot only guarantees that it will cut out frequently. If you need a phone to call someone, this is okay. For a smart phone, this is a truly inferior model not even worth a dollar.

  • spectacular!

  • NFC is *not* activitated in us tmobile k30

  • It's called "goo gone".. and cotton balls.. rubbing alcohol works for crap..

  • You are aware... it's a "phone" not a "camera"... correct. Buy a camera dude!

  • For a budget phone (i.e., less than $200) that works with Comcast xfinity, I'm overall impressed with this after using it for two weeks. It's reasonable responsive, and the screen is bright and clear. Perhaps there's always a "gotcha" with a phone at this price point, and for this phone I'd say it's the camera -- it's terrible. As others would likely point out, I wouldn't have expected spectacular camera performance, but I'd say it's essentially unusable. The megapixel rating really doesn't matter, as the photos are so blurry as to make resolution a non-issue. Unlike the rest of the phone functions, the camera app is also agonizingly slow. I'm not sure if I'll got to the expense to replace this phone due to the camera, but I most certainly would not buy it again, as I'd at least like to be able to get decent photos in good lighting conditions. Unfortunately, in my experience thus far, this phone cannot take an acceptable photo in ANY circumstances. (I'm truly baffled that it's as bad as it is, even at this price point.) Also, I don't believe I simply got a bad camera, as my wife has the same phone, and her experience is identical.

  • It's a budget phone, what'd you expect?

  • All the devices in K series have a Micro-USB port. I'm not sure if it's Type-C!!

  • Watched some of the reviews on youtube. The device has micro usb port not type C. :|

  • i have LG k10 2017, its is great phone , display is too dark and good quality. Thanks Lg.

  • Saw it at T-Mobile yesterday. Pretty nice. Brighter and nicer display than the K20, but there's a terrible sticker on the back, just to tell you the battery is non-removable. Great!! Need to rub with alcohol, to remove!!

  • Bought the phone last Friday and so far pleasantly surprised. The camera isn't good but I didn't buy this for a camera. So far I have been using this phone in place of my Note8 and no complaints on the performance of the phone so far.

  • Design is terible. Make it bezeless phone then it sold!

  • First midrange phone to support bands 66 & 71-together! Looking forward to " hands on" analysis on the K30 and Aristo 2 Plus!
