Its a shame windows phone is finally coming to an end. I have owned a 1020, 640 and 536 but updates for windows 8 stopped back in 2017 I believe. They only offer updates for windows 10 though some users have claimed they have upgraded to W10 from W8.1. So advice, buy an android or iphone device cause its goodbye to windows phone

Even after 3.75 years of usage, it still works as a brand new phone, it still gets regular software updates (Android phones hardly get it for 2 years) and it even got Windows 10 update and that gave a new life to the phone Only drawback is no 4G, so either I use 3G from this phone itself or use 4G through wifi hotspot from my other phone which has a Jio sim. Most phones released in 2014 in India didn't have 4G anyways, so we can ignore this Hoping Microsoft brings back Lumia. I badly want to buy a new Lumia phone with 4G Volte and move away from Android

I have used this phone for 2 and half years now, it suddenly switched off and it is not turning on at all. It only vibrates when the power button is pressed. I have tried doing the hard reset but it doesnt work. It was running on Windows 10. I had given it to a local microsoft authorised service centre and they havent been able to fix it after trying for a week. Suggestions as to how i can get the phone to turn on are welcome. This thing as an amazing battery life, taken you dont play games and watch stuff online all the time. On a regular use, phone calls, messaging (sms or whatsapp) the battery lasts easily over a week. Bought mine on April 2014 and it's still on a top notch condition, unlike any Android phone I've had. (Not a fanboy here, this is from experience) The cornerstone of this phone is definitely the Windows 8.1 OS, it works -really- fast. Updated to Windows 10 but it clearly wasn't made for this phone, it became slow and less responsive. All in all an excellent phone.

I do not play games on it, I mainly use the radio, the music player, the navigation and the MS Office suite. The navigation is excellent and is free all over the world!!!! My battery is still good for 2 days after more than 2 years! The camera is OK. I cannot say anything bad about the phone.

I'm using Microsoft Lumia 535. My problem is with the internal storage memory. I keep getting messages that my phone is running on low memory. When I check, I find out that my phone has 125MB of free memory out of 7.28GB internal space. What seems to be consuming this space is: Music / Videos / Podcasts / Pictures = 0 MB Apps & Games = 2.07 GB System Files = 4.6 GB. I can store Music / Videos / Podcasts / Pictures on my SD card. I can store some apps & games and transfer others onto my SD card. Even though not all. But the main problem are those system files. I can't even open the folder 📁 to see what's inside of it. I can't transfer it to the SD card, and I can't delete them. The phone gives me the message that:- "these files make your phone work. You don't want to delete them. - believe us!". But this system files storage keeps growing and growing! It hasn't always been as sizeable as the way it is now. I fear it'll still get larger. I need to do something fast about it and I don't know what to do. I recently had to delete lots and lots of useful apps including the facebook app from my phone in order to free up space for the phone to operate. Yet the freed-up space keeps disappearing just as quickly as it is consumed by the ever growing system files folder. What can I do?

I have Lumia 535 DS for about 20 months now and I'm very satisfied. First, Windows Phone is in my opinion still better OS than Android, better organized and use less power and RAM, and second, this phone has showed himself as really durable. I'm an active person, never use any protection for phone, and after about milion strokes and falls on hard surfaces phone still working great, even it didn't look so at first. Deign is still Ok. And today I realized that Android phones that are actual on market and costs as much as 535 cost two years ago are far worse phones.

There is no phone worse than this in the market. Don't go to repair centre for touch screen repair. After an update to this date, almost all problems is gone, battery is almost as good as when I'm using wp 8.1, Facebook also getting better, although the software said it needs 2 gb of ram. Instagram is also getting better, eliminating problems exist on beta versions. Lumia selfie also got an upgrade, twitter and whatsap is overall good. finally..... after uhm..... how many years has it been since this phone got out....... lol...... well.... overall, it's quite decent phone with it's software lineups for now ^_^

No any changes. Just as brand new 8.1 installed phone. It gives you the neweset version 8.1 available for your device. Just as the day 1 of your phone after a brand new software installation. 1.Download windows phone recovery tool for pc 2.connect phone and pc with usb 3.run recovery tool It will require 1.6GB for download/downgrade back to 8.1 phone. Do not unplug your usb. Do not turn off pc of internet connection of pc while downgrade. Package will be downloaded and installed automatically using your pc. * it took me 45 minutes to download 1.6GB and for installation it took me 15 minutes. Then you back to the 8.1.

I had a 535 dual sim. Now I have a J7 2016. I was wp user for 3 years. Yes you can roll back yo windows 8.1 after upgrading windows 10. How to: Download windows phone recovery tool and download software. It will give you 8.1 update. Not windows 10 again. I did and I'm sure.

Update after update eventually fixed my initial problems. Windows 10 has grown a lot over the past year and it continues to grow amazingly well. I constantly get new features which really improve the usability. The battery life is also pretty decent. But the headphone port barely even works most of the time. Not a big deal, but a deal breaker for some.

I have been using Lumia 535 for 2 years only. I must have to say that I am fully satisfied with this Cellphone. At the first time, I was little disappointed about touch screen and heating issue. But as the software was automatically updated, all the problems have gone away. The sensibility of touch screen is awesome. The phone is always cool without any any heating issue. The sound is perfect. Now I am a proud owner of Lumia 535.

I used old phone Nokia before, and I love them so I expect better when Windows buy them. This phone have a lot of flaws, I used mine for a while, the touchscreen is okay, and I've already braced myself that I can't use a lot of application since it's neither android or iPhone. My data keep getting corrupted: the photos, messages, videos, music, and so I have to delete most of them. The application keep getting shut downed no matter how many times I try to open so I have to download all over again, this is a worthless loop. When I arrived in Japan I spent 3000 yen for a sim card which I found out is not compatible with this phone (no one got this problem except me, btw). I'm so done.

hi everyone i have read all user reviews, everyone said its the worst phone ever. i have lill bit different opinion about this phone.. i brought this phone 24 feb 2015 and since then i didnt face any problem except its touch screen. All the features are better than android phone. it never get hang.. i know that window 8.1 is far behind any android os, but window 10 updates make my phone much advance than android. Although apps in windows are much lesser as compared to android play store, but it has all app for all your need and all apps are ad free and virus free. All apps occupy lesser storage space. Its graphics are superb and os 10 is awesome. I like this phone.. i give 8/10.. Thank you..

I have had this phone for over a year now, I have dropped it down the stairs and used it for music, calls, texts, photos, PM, and it has done an ok ob considering how cheap it was ~£50 ish. A bargain for anyone on a budget, I will say the W10 upgrade (and I bought it just so I could have W10 on a phone to test) is a vast improvement over the old 8.1. Its a bit slow on occasion, and the web browser closes for no apparent reason (prob runs outa mem) and one other small point is the power button still works when the phone is locked, so if in your pocket, it can turn on and off repeatedly, which can be annoying. Overall I would give it 6/10 for performance and 9/10 for value. Also 9/10 for reliability, it still runs like new after 18 months and not been looked after particularly.

It had few problems like touch issue,battery drain etc.But after windows 10 update it really amazing to work on it.super smooth operating.although I have lost fm radio after anniversary update but the new look can make any android user feel jealous.after windows 10 update you may have to factory reset your phone to get best of it.

Bo7ght this when I was going to Oz as the cheap 4g I had would not connect to the internet unless WiFi was available although in all other respects it was absolutely brilliant. However when I got there it was totally unable to stay on the network I selected, there are only three, that I selected so it proveto be totally useless in that respect. Since coming home 90% of the time it is unable to pick up a WiFi signal even though it is only a few feet from the hub and more recently it cannot detect the fact that there is an SD card installed which effectively makes it's usefulness just about zero. Basically a cheap and cheerfull piece of kit which is actually worth just about sod all!!!!!

This is a good phone. But there is always BUT. You cannot copy your contact from your phone on the SIM-CARD or reverse. Your contacts are stored on an account (gmail or hotmail). This is not good. So, wehen your changinmg a phone you have to download the contacts forom your account and manual manually inpute them in a new phone or your SIM-CARD. :((

Im using 535 with windows 10 10586.420 at the moment its really smooth I havent had any issues yet not even battery drain that users complain about. I bought the phone two weeks ago an installed 10 the 3rd day of purchase. An I never wiped the phone either. I ran out of data thats why I dint instal. 494 yet but il def instal it before the anniversary update. So all in all based on my experience lovely phone..

Windows 10 mobile official release is available all you need to do is go to the store, download the upgrade advisor, the upgrade advisor will tell you if your device is eligable and if space is needed, if it is then quikly go to your settings - phone update to see if a update is available, if so, then just press download by using wifi, mobile data won't do. The update is 1,5 gig to install so use wifi.

As with all window phones the 1 gb ram is fine. Windows 10 has option to store most of your stuff on micro sd card, so get a card . I don't think so. honestly I am in love to WP since Lumia 620 had been chosen. but Lumia 535 completely fail to meet my expectation. for the interface, I would not like to comment to that for every WP run on identical platforms. the biggest setback of 535 is the touch screen, it works weirdly very often. The screen functions crazily to and fro. it is my distress. above of all, mircrosoft can't make mild blowing changes in its phones. seems they will fail in future. last of all, I keep using my Lumia 620 though I got Lumia 535 for I am not a gamer.

I HATE IT! Make sure you don't get this phone! Not only does it have major lag but it will turn off randomly, it's unreadable during the daytime the battery decreases quickly and the charger broke last month after having it for eight months. Forgot to tell u one more thing. :-D if u want 3g for much time then change apn setting to ipv4 not to dual 4 and 6.if u set to ipv4 then 2g will comme for a very short period of time,dont forget to restart phone after doing this setting.i am genious na. ;-) because i dont know still the difference of these ipv4 and 6 but i used it. :-D so do it and enjoy. :-)

I bought 535 two days ago exchanging with my samsung j1 4g.samsung was a perfect mobile but heating as it will burn it self so i sold and got this one, 535 qualities. beauitiful mobile i love it,4gb internal memory available,runs smoothely on windows 8 and now on 10,5 hours battery on internet, Weak points. Upper two inches of screen heats a little but sometimes not so much and ever,cameras are not good comparing to samsung j1 but i dont need cameras.windows 8 have no functions in it so i upgraded on 10,now its looking good.playstore have just some apps not good for everyone,free vpn apps are not available in it.play sotore of windows sucks.and the biggest problem is it dont have 3g only option in network setting so think again and again if u r going to buy it,2g network always come after some time.i hate this feature and i am in wonder that billgates is so much fool. If u have windows 8 then i suggest 10,8 sucks and 10 is best with good view and fuctions.u have to update it on wifi not mobile connection because 2g comes and it fails. I have only two problems first playstore vpns apps and second 3g only option.i dont need camera so i dont care about it.playstore have no good launchers and apk files do not run on windows so think before buy. Oh i forgot to tell yoku that it cant edit tiles to make them beautiful.otherwise i like this phone but not this operating system.if this comes with kitkat uff i'll love it so much.i'll not reply again so dont mention me.thanks.

Hey friends, yes Lumia has some minor sensitivity issues and the screen gets zoomed many a times without touching but apart from that the phone is awesome. The network connection it gives and camera quality is best and has good battery. Worth it's price and you should buy it too

About a year i use this phone as my daily driver I can conclude that please avoid from get this phone. Why? The touchscreen sensitivity is crazy. You can't even type when your finger is sweaty, or there's fingerprint on the screen. I have to clean the screen first then I can type. Or else, the ghost will type for you. I only have problem with this issue, and if you're new to Windows Phone, better avoid. Apps developers seems like they don't really interested to invest their time to create a better apps on this platform. Instagram sucks, facebook sucks, whatsapp suck, everything sucks.

Its on of the good phones i have ever used. Though i have an iPhone as my primary mobile, this one serves its need. Frankly speaking never had any issue with this phone.no lag, no hanging, no touch problems and no heating. It also charges pretty fast. The only thing i found uncomfortable is the lack of apps and Microsoft is working hard on this issue.Ive used android too before and can surely tell that windows is better than android. Ppl complain about less ram slow processor and all, but microsoft provides whats just enough for their os to run.Theres no point in paying more for unwanted ram and processor which isn't required.windows and iOS require less compared to iOS.so don't go by the specs folks.

Nothing will be missed... The data is in "Files" so no need to worry..some photos and videos cannot be seen in the gallery but u can get everything in the"files" storage. Iam using lumia 535 since 400 days.. I didn't got even 1 complaint ... Excellent phone without troubles

Well done Microsoft for bringing this phone to success .But it does have problems , we cant install the apps into sd card ,poor touchscreen (it's really better after the update),ambient light sensor isn't working very well.It also lack features like playing 1080p videos.The camera is just too awesome compared to other ones .Overall looking it's price and design ,it is really cool in using the phone .

some stupids dont know to use lumia 535. Even tough the phone has some drawbacks its a mobile for its value by usage. Unlike android its not so childish os. its made professional. like android u dont need to clear ram, clear junk files, speed up the phone etc.... the windows phone is on the go to use. Well, my lumia 950 display was broken by simple drop from my job desk, also it's front camera damaged because of it (1st in my live that my phone broken simply because drop off), and it cost me about US$ 200. the worst is that at customer service site, they required me to sign statement that Microsoft doesn't responsible if because of the service the phone become worsen (aww... it's my first time also to find such awful service site). After the service, microsot accidentally attach some glue in my phone back cover that can't be removed. guess what microsoft tell me... they say it's out of their responsibility. i bought this phone by taking advice from my brother turns out this phone is crap very litle screen on time poor user experience applications are underdeveloped onlu one option fpr locking your phone that is bt a pin no password or pattern poor design low battery on a 5inch phone despite being as thick as a brick wall downloaded videos from youtube are not saved in memory therefor you cannot acces them from your file manager downloaded email attachments cannot be opened even after getting adobe reader applications are few and limited and poorly designed even whatsapp has a pathetic ui you cannot save your contacts to sim card if screen cracs it loses functionality along the line of cracking on one side thats enough for today ill be back with more tommorow dont even think of buying a lumia if you have used an android or ios you wont even get a task manager on this brick wait did i say that its resale value is also crappy

I absolutely hate this phone. I have had it for just over a year and my biggest issues that it is slow the camera is pathetic, the app store has no good apps, the screen resolution is also poor. Also because of the processor it is slow especially when multi tasking and the phone tends to lag, hang or glitch very often. Whenever you download something and try to do something else on your phone it just lags and does not et you turn it on. When playing games you can tell it is slow especially shooter or racing games. I do think that it does look ok, I have the matt black version. I only got the phone, charger and instruction manual in the box which was a bit disappointing as there were no earphones. I would highly recommend you get a similarly priced android phone with better specs.

If you will use this for browsing or texting then not the best choice, but from the other side, truly great phone, not slowing down, great budget phone. I have lumia 520& lumia 535 but i prefer to use 535 over 520. Its dual sim 3g which i use now in abroad. Its 1gb ram and faster than my 520. Touch screen issues are solve by putting screen guard/screen protector, can be matte or glossy. The sweat in fingers are the one that makes the screen crazy. Videos use CC PLAYER to play videos in software/hardware mode it can play hd videos, moliplayer very good video app but paid app but it has a china version that is free. Am satisfied with this phone. Cant wait to upgrade to Windows 10.

My 1.5 year old sony E1 lasts 1.5-2 days. And can even play 1080p videos on mxplayer. The phone can be tweaked to have no lag at all. Only lags slighlty while using chrome. Android is ages ahead of windows.

Now it completely depends on you if u do online gaming and play heavy games on it for long time these phone tends to get hot. or else normal browing, watching video and similar usage will not heat the phone normally.... Camera is 5 mega pixel but pictures clarity is very poor of back side camera.
