  • this phone is still working for 5 yrs after i changed its microphone with my own hands!!! the mobile had been not used for 1 year after it got washed in the washing machine due negligence by my father and due to which its microphone died...... then i changed its microphone with an other microphone (from a broken videocon mobile) and voila it is working fine.... i visited motorola service center regarding microphone and they said the mobile is dead and not repairable due to water damage. how wrong they were LOL :)

  • This is a fantastic phone. I have been using it since June 2006 and till date I haven't got any problems with this phone. The only problem I faced was with the ear phones. After 3 mths of purchasing this phone there was no voice from one side of the ear phone. I got it replced from the service center free of cost as it was till under warranty and I had the original bill with me. But the replaced earphone also went thru the same problem. I was very much impressed by the stereo quality of this phone but the continously irrepairable earphone kept me away from it for a while. Later one I bought a chin peice earphone and it luckily worked well for 1.5yrs and then again one side not working. Overall I still love this phone. The battery has not degraded. If I charge it full it goes on for 3 days without charging. I might have dropped this phone 50 times but nothing has happened to it. Very Reiiable. Now because of the new technology developing I wanted to buy an new phone and since I had great expereince with Motorola phone I thougt of buying EX128 anticapting that this product will be on par with what C168 has delevired. But the reviews of EX128 is very negative. Major proble is with the battery life. Its just 4H as comapred to 13H for C168. I will definitely not buy EX128

  • It accomplished what a simple phone should be but I'm not satisfied with its messaging function. The alphabet I type appears so slow on screen..I have to wait for considerable seconds for each letter.The good thing is it is so tough. It fell onto floor hundreds times...but nothing bad happen ;) It is cheap too

  • i picked up one of these go-phones for $15 when i smashed my L7. i didn't want to get raped with the cost of a new phone from AT&T and they would probably end up renewing my contract behind my back. i even asked the staff at the AT&T store about slapping my SIM into a go-phone and they said go for it. so i've been using this cheapo phone for almost a year (?) with relatively no fuss. it does what is should, makes calls & texts, has alarms, a calendar/organizer, etc. mine doesn't have the FM radio, i-tap or currency converter. i'm sure at&t de-contented this stuff so they could sell it for less than $20. battery life was admirable when it was new, but it seems to be slowly shortening on me. it has a lot of cheesy ringtones, so i programmed my own on the phone's composer app. the display is lo-fi washed out. actual call quality is good, but reception can be horrible at times. it looks cheap, feels somewhat cheap, but not too bad...it is very light but feels sturdy enough. i've thrown mine full force at a wall and it barely received a ding and yet it is still 100% functional. seriously, at $15 a pop, i am obviously not worried about babying this thing and i toss it about very carelessly indeed, yet it has held up quite well. it's made me realize that expensive, fragile, feature-laden, super cell phones are probably not for me. probably gonna get me a samsung b2700 and keep the motorola as the cheapo backup.

  • Hi, I have been using this phone for a year and i would recommend this for the beginners. Its a basic model but a beautiful model. Its slim, weightless, colorful. Battery life is good and voice is also clear. drawback is, bit slow while reading phone book but that doesn't affect much. overall a simple and good to use phone. The only reason i am going for the next model is to have camera in mobile. other than that, i love this phone very much

  • You know...sometimes you want a phone to be a phone, not a multimedia center for $18. I bought my C168 (i) as a go phone at Sams Club. I just popped my at&t sim card into it and it is wonderful. The At&t store tried to sell me a phone as a replacement that has what this phone has for $165.00. The cashier told me where to go and what to buy. All I need is a dependable phone that has good reception, easy to make calls and is light weight and stylish. Like I said, what do you want for under $20? I hope it lasts but if it doesnt, I can do it all over again for under $20. That's lunch at McDonalds for 3 days. Motorola makes the best phones..owned 3 already.

  • be careful people! If you're buying this as the at&t gophone, it is not the c168, it's a c168i, which has no radio. I don't know why at&t keeps doing that, they sell a phone that's supposed to have an fm radio (very convenient) but for no reason take it out. Also, this phone should have a speaker phone, as the speaker is really loud and there's no reason why it can't have a speaker phone. Besides that, this phone is very stylish and durable.

  • for a price like that, this is a good phone. sleek design. radio. gprs + mms. long battery life. one thing that's quite annoying is that when you type message, it has sort of delay until the typed letter appears. if there's anything else.. well, CSTN screen is bad under bright sunlight, and no bluetooth/IR/usb. small memory capacity (640kb) but it's good enough to store some small-sized pics & midi ringtones. and again, for that price? great phone, i'd say.

  • i find this cell very good and good features and yes the battery problem is there if u listen to radio ur battery goes down fast i have only one prb the display screen is not strong enough.one bang and the ink of the screen spreads out and we have to get it repaired the cost is resonable and features good enough only blue tooth was needed but i think makers should make the display screen tougher i have nokia too and so many times it fell from my hands but touch wood it is perfect still

  • On your Moto C168 phone if you have problems with FM like noise please change the shape of the handsfree wire(Try to Straighten the handsfree wire). This may improve the FM clarity some times.

  • I think Motorola C168 is great, although it is pretty different than other the specifications written here. My phone doesn't have a built-in speakerphone neither does it have a stopwatch. It has the new Motorola LANTERN feature which works as a torchlight. My phone supports iMelody and midi ringtones although, there is no support for mp3 as well as there is no camera.

  • For motorola c168 user you can't download and install any application or game, but you can download poly ringtone and wallpaper using WAP, if you want to set your picture or tone, u can upload first to free wap service (search google) then download to your phone.., this phone have very limited connectivity, but the other features is great, better than others similar phone......

  • 4 shubhang: u can't set password on this cellphone coz it doesn't hav that feature. 4 pravat:1)when there's a miscal choose detail then press menu button and select save. 2)u can't set am/pm on alarm clock.but instead of 4 example: 3pm u can write 15:00. 4 bruno: if there 5 minute regular sound,it's a reminder.it means there's miscall or sms that you haven't seen/read.if u already see the miscal/read the sms,the sound'll disappear.

  • This Motorola C168 was probably the best phone I have ever had. Sadly, though, while at school one day i got tackled playing football and it broke. But, apart from that, this was a sweet phone. You could download ringtones, pictures, and games! Despite what others may think, there is a T9 in it, you just have to go through the phone:P. Also, another thing I loved about it, was that it was so small! And the screen was very large considering the phone's size, and it was also very bright. Battery life wasn't all that bad, I may add. I am now using a Samsung SGH V200, which is a very bad phone. I can't wait until i get my new Motorola SLVR L6 for my birthday!! Which I may add is in 13 days! By, some 14 year old kid...

  • This is my first motorola and I bought this handset a week ago as a secondary phone, and its not even near to something good. Its not user friendly at all and battery life is very very short as compare to other phones in its class. radio is very much acceptable with good bass to enjoy music but the thing I am concerned is its not user friendly and very Difficult to use, Its very different from other brands. you ant even have T9 to write sms and you cant even make it silint when someone is calling you and you just dont wana let the caller know that you that you canceled its call. thank god its cheap so i can sale it or exchange it an other phone but really ill never ever buy motorola phone again. My advise is dont go for it coz its just cheap or untill your not tryin it in your hands, many other good phones are also available in this price range such as SE J230. this motorola will just disappoints you ;)

  • I bought this phone last week as a 2nd hand, which was hardly used and only 2 weeks old. It is too cheap a phone to be offered even as a free one from the telcos. I bought it for USD44, no contract. It is a great phone, I have used Nokia for 5 years and decided to switch to a cheaper and practical phone. This is the most practical. Radio reception is good. Great as a phone. Can even have WAP service on it. Nokia's 1112, 1110i, 1110 do not have color screen and they are not as slim. Battery last for 4 days even though I like playing with the menus all day long. I would only give up if I no longer can stand the lag in sms-ing. Wrong words appear if you type too fast (that what we want!)

  • Hi Im using this phone since, 4 months, I had gone thru the opinions which are posted. Overall perfomance by the phone is good compared to the price of the phone. It has good color display compared to other models which have 128x128 display. U can find this by changing any other wallpaper by downloading thru wap/Gprs. Its easy to downlaod also, if your service provider supports wap. You can download from hellomoto.com site.

  • Naya: Select settings icon and go to 'Initial Setup' which is the sixth one (you may not be able to read as it is in a different language) and select it then you will find Time and Date Backlight Language third one is language press that and select the language you want.   • Hi Friends i bought new c168 phone its looking good but its waste just for seeing only its nice but when i want to compose the ringtone im not able to compose it and im not able to find and ringtones from any site in downloading sites nowhere i saw c 168 ringtones to download this phone is very worst so if the motorola can change there format of compose ringtones just put it in the sites so that v can compose the ringtones like nokia phone like nokia no phones are made til now if u have any download sites for ring tones and wallpapers, screen scavers just keep in the moto site thnks

  • Useless,stupid phone Display very poor, FM reception is not good.Keypad not good for typing,After continuous use it become slow & hangs. My friend has SE J230i & it's really rocking phone.MOTO is Duping people by saying that it has 65k color but the fact is that it is a 4096k display. I'm going to exchange this phone for a brand new SE J230i. SE has amazing FM sound clarity & reception. U have to listen to it to believe it.

  • please please please .......think twice before going for this phone.this is a comparision between moto c168 & se j230i.this is my latest opinion published on this site.in order to get link on this topic it is necessary for u to ( and for clarification also) go to sony ericsson section under se j230i & read my earlier reviews / opinions. u can also visit www.mouthshut.com under electronics/ cellphones/sonyericsson/se j230i & read my reviews on se j230i, there also i have compared this two phones. sorry to keep u waiting now lets move to the subject. as said earlier look wise motto scores more feature wise both have more or less same features u can get details on there respective sites. but few imp. point to take into consideration while making ur choice...... 1. no speaker phone for motto. se j230i has speaker but not as good as nokia 6030 2. motto boasts of having 65k colours & has tft/lcd screen, even after having this feature display is really poor similar to 4096k display. se j230i has stn display & 65000k display (in grid view display is not good, but in single icon menu display is quite good)further there are many freebees like themes,wallpapers(also moving), ringtones on se website.as per my findings se score more in display part even though it has stn display.both phone have 128x128 pixels/ display. in daylight/ sunlight u cannot view se j230i display as it is stn(for standby) & dull if keys activated. 3. fm sound clarity/quality--- good for motto excellent for se j230i fm sound reception --- poor for motto again excellent for se j230i 4 moto has wap 2 /xhtml browser & se has wap1.2.1 (i don't have any idea, but i think moto will be bit faster) any one who have this knowledge please share. i have used wap on my j230i speed & download is quite good. 5 battery back up--- for moto upto 340hrs standby & talktime upto 9hrs 30min.(as per manufacturers)fm consumes lot of battery. for se stand by upto 280hrs & talktime upto 6hrs(as per manufacturer) i am using my se j230i without charging for 2 whole days(fm for 3 hrs per day) for prolong battery use keep the keypad tones of, brightness to zero, do not fiddle . further go through my review on se j230i on this site & on www.mouthshut.com my suggestions..... if fm is not ur choice(fm least imp.) then go for nokia 6030 everything is good i.e. battery, memory about 2-3 mb, downloadable games also if u want only good display go for samsung c230(no idea about fm),battery life is pathetic,ir reception does not works, good memory 2-3 mb, can download games etc..etc.. moto c168 (radio motto) & sony ericsson j230i are close compititors,but as per earlier comparision mentioned sony ericsson j230i rules & out performs moto c168 (radio motto)without any doubts in minds moto looks good (thats the reason it is appealing many consumers),but it is is not sturdy (badily built)back cover over a period of time makes a cracking sound, glossy colours on cheap plastic body will fade gradually, poor headsets provided compared to other models in moto category, headset looks cheap. only because of cheap price people are running for it... my sincere advice to them please pay few hundreds more enjoy the pleasure of se j 230i.you will never regret after using it listining to its fm sound clarity.no other phone in this category will give u such an outstanding fm sound quality & reception.i can bet on this one.

  • very poor phone. battery backup is very low. needs charging frequently and takes a long time to get charged. No speaker phone so FM is useless sometimes. Dispaly is typical.

  • I got this phone 4 days back. And its good, The only thing is that Message typing is slow compared to any other handset If you type in normal (traditional) way, Then itz fine. No problem But if you Switch on iTAP mode (Dictonary mode) Then itz kinda way too SLOW. Apart from that Everything is fine FM is fine too, No problem ! Message counter is missing . Thatz all We have everything 1. Delivery report (a seperate folder for that) 2. And ability to clear INBOX, OUTBOX, DRAFT and everything at one Go. That option is also there ANd one more bad thing is that Default wallapapers are BAD ! kinda very bad if you ask me. But if you have GPRS then that shouldn't be a problem !

  • it's a good cellphone.if anybody wants to know about the difference this and j230i,all i can say is: 1.the FM sound quality of j230i is slightly better than c168. 2.although s'one said that c168 has 4096 display but i think it looks better than 60K j230i.if u don't believe,try 2 change the menu view of j230i with 3x3.oooh,it looks sooo bad. 3.the sms typing speed of j230 is faster than c168. 4.the model of c168 is far better than j230i. 5.i don't have any difficulties using GPRS w/c168 since this phone is already have setup for every provider in my country.w/ j230i we have 2 setup the GPRS first.and i think it's not simple although not to difficult either. 6.me and my friend agree that the c168 ringtone is better.my favourite are blue tile and rock solo.j230i has standard ringtone just like the SE previous models. i think that's all.but the choice is depend on u!

  • I have this cell for about 2 months or so, than i decided to sell it coz it was not up to the standard comparing to other cell phones of the same price tag; i was not satisfied wid this set, because: 1. Sound quality in earpiece is not good as we compare it with other cell phones of the same price e.g Nokia 2300, Sony Ericson J230i, Se k300i, N 1110, N 2600. 2. Cell information is not available in this cell phone (which tells u the location of the cell where it is being used) i m quoting this coz my network provider (Telenor) is providing this service here in my country. 3. sms delivery report is absent, not a user friendly phone for a user who had previously using Nokia or Sonyericson phones. 4. Sound quality of Radio is average, it has good bass.... but depth is missing... if u really want to get this phone for fm than its fm quality is good but only when u change the headphones.... the headphones that comes wid it are of low quality. 5. The phone is made up of cheap plastic & is not tough as nokia or SE phones. 6. Very Very bad Display Good things: 1. Gprs speed is good. 2. battery backup is quite good. 3. weight & size is also good just 77 grams 4. Ringing tone sound is loud. 5. Radio only through headphones (no speaker) & fm signal reception is also poor comparing to other phones. After all these good & bad things i finally decided to get rid of it... i sold it after two months.... and now i have decided to go for Sony Ericsson J230i. 1. J230i has good & large display compare to C168. 2. Cell information & delivery reports of sms also available. 3. Fm Radio quality is far better than C168 coz SE is providing the same headphones wid this phone as with SE K750i phone. 4 Battery backup is very good. 900mAh battery. 5. sound in earpiece is very good compare to C168. 6. Very much user friendly ... two options are available... nokia style & Menu style.

  • its model is good,but it also has weakness such as: 1.u only can type sms slowly 2.if u put a name in caller group,when that number called,the ringtone doesnt ring just like u've set in ring styles,it only ring MOTOTRAIN. 3.it doesn't have speakerphone.

  • I got this phone just 2 weeks back. Radio etc is really nice but very poor battery performance. First week battery used to run for 3-4 days. Second week onwards, it is getting drained in hardly one and half days. And I hardly listen to radio at all!!!   • i brought this model just 4 days before...the mobile has a poor design as a normal user i feels....today it hanged for a lot of time without responding to any keystroke...i removed battery...after that it is not switching on.....!!!! i didn't expect such a bad model from such a reputed company.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now its....in idle state...who will pay for waste of my time...?????? i feel myself cheated with this product...!!!!!!!

  • i bought nokia 1110 4 months ago, i was very much satisfied with it but after few days i pointed out few problems in it, one was when i talk with anyone for 15 or 20 minutes it was getting very hot, another problem is that this mobile phone starts with very low ringtones thats why often i cant hear the miss calls, another problem is that this mobile phone was sometimes getting off when i write sms. But this set has some advantages also , it has a superb battery loud speaker is good, it has messege counter, speaking clock, very fast key pads. But due to above mentioned problems i sell this phone and just bought Motorolla C168, there is no difference between the prices of nokia 1110 & motorolla C168 here in Pakistan. I m fully satisfied with my new mobile phone it has fm radio, colour screen, mms, sms more than 249, cool design that attracts every one and cathes the eye of the peoples and have a rock and roll sound, thats why i remarks nokia 1110 , 100 out of 40% but motorolla C168 is the best in comparison with nokia 1110. If any one wants to buy nokia 1110 i suggests him that if in his country both nokia 1110 and motorrola C168 has the same price then never wait and leave nokia 1110 and buy motorola C168.

  • hey, im a satisfied user of this phone, for website viewing, the site should be wap version, you can also configure your phone browser to enable/disable website graphics. when i installed my sim, good thing that my phone was pre-set with the GRPS settings of the networks here in my country so net browsing was easy as a breeze. good price for a phone with some features. the only downside i see is that it has no connectivity other than thru network

  • faiza You can see call timer while talking. also it will beep 10 seconds before completion of every minute. i havent tried storing 250 msgs but i crossed 100 so many times. exceptional value for money fon go for it.

  • @arpan motorola phones does not have T9, instead it has itap which is much supererior to T9 but only if you know how to use it. i dont know why everybody is complaining about typing sms being slow. if one learns to use itap, we can type very very fast. about the FM stereo quality, its not one of the best but the best. no competetion. it catches signals very well where other phones have problem specially if we are travelling by bus. its a pity that this phone does not have a speakerphone. and the reason why i said that its the best FM is that i am using a 2.5 to 3.5 mm adapter and sony HPM 70 headphones (one which comes with sony walkman mobiles) and believe me the sound coming out of it excellent . on par with radio quality of sony k750. i have bought this phone for my mom (my phone being motorola e398) and i am really impressed with its FM quality.

  • I Purchase C168 last night, after review it's feature from GSM Arena. I found this cell phone quit good, I like it's design, Slim and easy to use menu and good key pad and also quality of heand free sound. it's brilliant. But one thing i dislike only is it's color which is just 4046. I think it's quit low resolution.

  • To Nitesh, this mobile doesn't have computer connectivity, you can't connect it to computer by any mean. You must activate GPRS in order to download pics n tones. Just request your operator to send you GPRS settings and then you can surf the net via browser or download wallpapers and ringtones via MMS. Also if you talk 2-3 hours a day then i advise you to go for another mobile from SonyEricsson or Nokia range. I am still new user of this mobile but it works only for a day under heavy use.

  • Hi Friends, I think the Motorola C168 is the best phone in that Price(Rs. 2990 in india). I give marks 92 out of 100. It has very clear and stereo type FM radio. Headset is so good. It has nice Polyphonic ring tones & also basic features like calender, calculator etc. It also provide a large phone book(600)entry. I just bought this phone one week ago. I have now one doubt: Is its batary performance fullfil according motorola C168 specification page(Talk Time: 500 min; Stand By Time 340 hrs)?   • Hi, I bought this phone by looking at GPRS and FM feature after I lost my Sony Ericsson K500i. I used that phone for internet access only using a USB data cable. But I am not sure how to connect this(C168) to my Laptop. Aparently it doesn't have data slot. I will be greatful if anyone could advice me about the Phone-PC connection.   • Hi I am Motorola c-168 user since last three and half months.This set has become cause of dispute in my family.When my one child listen FM radio other waits for his chance.I also find myself in queue for my term.This set is fantastic.Best thing is that it has huge memory space to save sms and phone addresses.Its battery is comparatively better.

  • Oh, and by the way, there is NO way to connect this phone to a computer because the only 2 plugs are for the headphone and battery charger. But you can still download images and stuff by putting a web address on the browser.

  • I bought this fone some 20 days ago for Rs 3025(India) and I think its a nice fone...almost same price for a nokia 2300, u get a colour fone with FM.. However, this is all a very basic fone with about average display and no java support...samsung B2050 got that and super display....but no FM at the same price. But I am not satified with the battery it gives me about 2 day backup...nowhere near 500 min talktime and 340 hours standby time as claimed by the motorola site and also by other sites..headset is pretty cheap doesn't look like given as original accessory... looks like a cheap aftermarket headsetbut at this price ...I think its a very nice buy....

  • i just baught this phone two days ago for my sister. this seem to be a nice phone, with very good build quality (especially for this price) i found the quality of the radio quite good without any reception problems, but the audio volume was very LOUD, even at the minimum settings. the ringtones are also sound extremely loud (one of the loudest ive heard), vibrator is a bit weak though. the screen quality is also good. i bought this handset in pakistan from hafeez center (for PK Rs. 3750.) with mobile zone warrenty. it came with the wap settings of all the service providers in pakistan, so i only had to select the right profile. and the wap also work flawlessly. as you would expect, such a cheap set would come with a couple of problems as well. one of the major problem is that i found no way of connecting this phone to the pc, no bt, ir, usb or anything, so only way you can dl ringtones or wallpapers to this phone is through wap. there are a few user interface problems and the quality of the hand-free kit is not the best that ive seen. otherwise i think this is the best phone you can get in this price range.

I just bought this last May 29 and i was so impressed with the design, features and performance of this mobile phone. Vibrant 4098k color display! Great sounds eventhough there is no built-in speaker! Great sounds also on FM radio, I really love it! And the looks - its awesome! Before, i used to buy Nokia mobile phones but when i saw this Motorola C168 on the internet and have read many positive feedbacks from the people around the world who bought this mobile phone, i was curious to have one also for myself. And i didn't make a wrong decision, I was really IMPRESSED and 100% SATISFIED! Go Motorola! Don't let Nokia beats you. Because of this, I can say - Motorola is still the best Mobilephone maker in the world. Some proofs?! - Motorola C168, Motorola V3i, L6 and Motorola SLVR L7!

  • i just bought it 2 hours ago and all what i can say about that it's a coooooool & nice one. it has good features and terrific sound but i wonder why there isn't usb cable or even a serial one in order to put pics and melodies......... but in general it's just great mobile and i give it 9/10

  • i hv bought this phone a month ago after a huge search for a useful economic set. now i hv problem in receiving the signals. the signals start to come when phone switched off and on again, but only for few mts, then again the signals start weakining. is this a problem with this set. or may be a network problem. i hv a Airtel connection at Bilaspur, CG.

  • it is useless, it is not at all comparable with nokia handset even nokia1100. its fm is useless & on GPRS it indicates it has facility of mp3 tones but actually it has no facality of mp3 tones. it has not any comparision with nokia. i brought motorolaC168 in 3900Rs but nokia 6030 with superb FM reception & graphics cost 4000Rs only. So i think i have made a huge mistake on buying this mobile phone.

  • Dear Warder and all, I just bought this phone two days before after research. Please let me know that what is speaker installed in this phone, only for ringtones! I think, speaker should be used as speaker phone (listen your call by using speaker.) My last question is that we can use data cable for download the pictures and sounds? Is MIDI song installed? This phone is very nice looking and good features.

  • i have this phone.its good looking,stylish,battery is good but i don't recieve fm.it's wap system works well for downloading etc.but it don't have usb port which is not a problem because we can download ringtones,wallpapers etc through its wap browser.

  • I got this phone after a lot of research and is one of the best phones in its price segment. the radio is excellent and talking about the headphones they are good too. For the price like that, the other competing phones the one from Nokia and samsung having the same features are much costly and less stylish. the only problem is with regards to downloads form motorola website for the ringtones and wallpapers as they charge a wooping Rs.10 INR which is too much if you are a company supporting the product. although sony ericson has phones which are a bit costly to this but the memory on sony phones is only 12 mb and that means its of no use and again no radio, there is a camera but having a VGA camera doesnt make any sense. Bottom lines the phone is excellent coz has all the important features that a normal users wants. Talk, Listen, enjoy radio.

  • hmm nice phone..in less price ,gprs works gr8,ringtones 32 instruments..colour is fi9 just like j200i..but the only drawback is fm reception is poor ..nokia 2300 is much much better in its fm reception then motorola c168

  • i purchased it for 3650/- its one of the best handsets i have ever seen , 3 games nice graphics ..only the minus is radio reception is poor at some places ..but sound quality is excellent i will recommend to get this as easly as possible as its not heavy on pocket also..same model would have been costed not less than 12 K 2 yrs back..

  • Ok, i dont know if anybody is still reading this, but i may be able to answer a few questions and concerns posted above. I do a bit of work with Motorola mobile (cell) phones in terms of modifications. [abhilash]: The small symbols you see beside the battery meter, which is usually a yellow bell with squiggly lines around it or with a noise effect on one side, means that it is on the "Ring and Vibrate" setting for the first or the "Loud" profile. This changes the effects for the ring styles of the phone. [hasan]: Yes, it has a built-in loudspeaker [sri]: The FM reception is OK, although the squality seems to differ region to region. At home in NorthWest Australia it works great. While at work on a mine site it doesnt work too well however. My only problem with the FM radio is the fact that you cannot run it on the loudspeaker while playing the radio. That was a feature i liked on the Nokia phones. [madhu]: Is your phone set up to use MMS and WAP settings? That may be why you cannot send or receive the MMS section of the message. Motorola phones receive MMS different to Nokia and retrieve the attached file seperately to the rest. Saves time and money in most cases. Contact your Service Provider about getting the settings sent to your phone. There are sites around that assist in troubleshooting and if you are interested, modifying, your Motorola phone. Just use Google. Its the most vauable tool that you could ever come across. Now, my opinion of the C186 is that is a very nice looking phone. Thats why i purchased it (I have a V3 RAZR and seperate CDMA phone for work as well). I found that the software is too basic, and they could have put more on it to make the functionality better on the phone. If the software was from the new generation of phones instead of old looking and feeling software then id be more impressed with the phone. Then again, i paid AU$99 for a brand new released phone, so i suppose i dont have too far to complain.

  • If you're getting bored with features-rich in large-size cell phone, I'd recommend the C168. - light weight & small, but not too small - long battery life (1000 mAh) - good voice quality + lound ringing tone - reasonable price Back to basic!

  • This is one of the good models with a reasonable price tag. Voice clarity is extremely good. The microphone captures even tiny sounds and the other end users can listen to them. Less weight, easy to handle. FM Radio are acts just as walkman. Suggest any one to buy this. 600 phone book memory is fantastic. iTap for messages works very well. (I baught it for 3800 + 1% tax = Rs.3838/-) Color, Polyphonic, Radio, iTap, 600 memory...are the best features to choose this model.

  • Ive been facing a problem with this cell fr some time. When i make a call, the ring volume is extremely low despite the volume being on the maximum. This happens only sometimes though. And ive tested this out wid 2 different C168s with different SIMS and it gives the same problem. Can anyone tell me how i can solve this problem?...is it a manufacturing fault?

  • I saw an ad of Motorola in Hindustan Times today, ie 25-3-2006. Looked up Motorola website for more information, but was shocked to find only an old bit of information, before it was even launched! It shakes my confidence and probably I will not buy it. Poor marketing, I would say as a consumer. Moreover, the reviews I read at this site suggest that the radio FM reception is poor.

Really loud ring tones in chennai city compare to other, Quality display, FM radio, Superp Games, Use full options in menu system, Good look, Very less weight, Ring tones can downloda from nokia phone. Exc., and allway best. i will Recomand to Brought this phone to middle class people.

  • I bought it only a weak ago its battery backup is good slim and easy to use. Only the radio pick up is poor I hear disturbance in closed room not as good as nokia 2300. No mini usb to transfer pic. Overall value for money.

  • Heya, I'm needing to find out the meaning of two symbols that appear on one of my customers phones. One looks like a bell with three brackets on the right hand side but ISN'T an alarm. The second is the number one with a strange icon that looks like two dots attached to a bracket but is not a voicemail. I'm stumped~! Had a quick read of the opinion pieces and couldn't find anything helpful... Any ideas? I haven't been able to find it in the user manual yet. If anyone knows any online links or has seen this before I would be very grateful. Ta :o)

  • wel got this for around $90 equiv in india. itz a really gr8 piece of hardware,xcept for the somewhat lousy FM.very gud battery back up,really loud ring tones,u will not miss any calls fo sure.

  • I am from Sri Lanka. I have bought a Brand new Motorola C168 a weeks back from ABANS - Sri Lanka. Retailer said it is having around 4MB memory capasity; but I can not download/open even 54kb MMS message. It said, "no capasity" while there is NO any other messages in the folders. I can see the so called MMS message icon in the "inbox" but can not open and listen to the sounds. There was another MMS came which file size was 29kb and it says "MMS fetching is failed". why this is why? I can not see any indication about memory capasity of this phone even from the manual as well as in Motorola web site. Please reply as I am TIRED and HATE this phone now. Please attend.
