You Can view the list of received calls Main Menu->Recent Calls->Received Calls.If There is a Tick mark beside a number then it means tat you have taken the call and if there is no tick beside a no. then it means tat you missed your call

Inside Menu there are only few options i.e.Videos, Pictures, Hits, Games & Apps, Vide Rec, Multimedia,Messages, Office Tools, Settings. I've checked under all this, but couldnt find the list of Received calls anywhere

It's not a bad phone but not great either. I've had some trouble with it and the battery life, but compared to some other phones I've had it's survived reasonably well. Not good, not bad.

I owned 2 motorola v551's, and loved them. The battery life was good, the phone was quite durable, and the keypad was very easy to use. Also, navigation was simple. The phone had limited features, and the camera was low quality, but overall, it was a very well-made, rugged phone.

There should be some sort of incentive from Motorola to ease the lost of credit when purchasing this so-called phone. The specs defined about this phone are all not true. This phone is extremely unreliable and lacks performance of a good sort. This phone is only good within the first only month of purchase.

This phone is absolute piffel..Does anyone by chance beg to differ..? The battery life of this phone is extremely poor..The battery only lasts for a day at most. I've been in an extreme scenario..and needed performance and reliability and this phone failed me horribly. Yes mam sorry to burst your bubble but this phone goes black because of a manufacturers defect. The wiring connection between the screen and the body was poorly connected when manufacturing.., hence the reason for it going black because theres no contact with the body and the screen to transport the data. And the battery's life is determined by the : (1) Reception (2) Memory Usage (3)Incoming calls and Outgoing calls ...Thank you very much...!

The phone doesn't go black my friend, this is a defect by it's manufacturers. The wiring connection between the body and the screen is rather poor. So in other words, it's actually better to keep your phone closed at all times to ensure longevity.

i bought Motorola V555 and i have problem with the phone,i always charged my phone full everyday but anytime i receive a call the battery will low. so i decided to buy a new battery, it not fit my phone also look round maybe i will see it seize i could not see any, somebody tell me that i will not see the fit battery or else i buy new phone. I am very very rough on things, and this phone took some crazy abuse! The outer LCD broke pretty quickly, and I cracked part of the outer shell, but the phone overall is holding up great. The only complaint I have is that the ear piece sometimes comes undone on mine and my friends V555. So I have to use speaker phone sometimes cause the normal speaker stops working.

I belive this phone works well, even great when used correctaly the younger generation is to in dow, need the fastest strongest best looking technology, i'm only 22 so don't get me wrong but this phone has everything you really need a phone for, the battery time is estimated at 3 hours and 45 minutes but last a good two whole days of constanst use, like any other phone, leaving it in the bathroom will cause a black screen and mild slow down time of the phones capability aswell the same effect of dropping or even tossing it around, it is delicate software, LIKE ALL PHONES. I had this phone and with in the first 2months I had to have it replaced because each of them had defects. By the second return I was fed up and wanted to get a different phone but I was under contract so I got a third replacement that finally worke d. I hate this phone its just so heavy.

The first day I got this phone it froze up. Pressing buttons on the phone did not work. I took the SIM Card out for about 45 minutes, and the phone started working for 1 minute. It also freezes up for hours at a time.

I have had this phone for 1 year and a half and it is all messed up. The screen is always black, I'm not able to see who is calling, the phone turns off by itself. The battery only lasts half a day charged. This phone is a real crap, At the beginning it was all great, but as time went by the phone started losing the main screen image, and working strange to the point that I had to buy a new phone.

i have had this phone for about 6 months and yes i have had a few problems with it locking up but it is hard to break it i kicked it into a brick building and the only thing it did was put a crack across the screen but the screen still works in my opinion it is a good phone for some one who is rough on their phone this is a good one for you.

has this phone for about 2 years. Next thing you know the screen goes blank. The problem was the copper cable that connects the screen to the phone itself snapped probably due to opening and closing the phone. The copper cable is in the middle of the phone where it turns in front of the antenna. just to let you know from my experience.

ok... i used to have a motorola v555.. i had it for almost a yr and it was da worst fone i hvae ever gotten!! it suxed soo bad.. i could be writtin a text and out of no where it would start makin a BUZZYIN nose n then shut off and wouldnt come back on for like and hour it would make me soo mad! Sometimes i couldnt send texts nor get calls. my voice mail wouldnt work half the time... now i have a motorola v361 and ive had it for like 3 weeks now.. and it is a really good fone.. i can hold up to 250 ringtones w ma memory card i have. it has a mp3 player good camera and everything. over all its a great foena dn i am glad i have it instead of the motorola v555!

I will tell you like evryone else this phone is nothing but a bunch of problems wrapped in a cute little case first i couldnt get service anywhere and wasnt my carrier either then the camera stopped working and then i couldnt get it to charge o would plug it in to the charger and nothing at all finally my boyfriend figured out that if he wiggled the end just right he could get it to charge sometimes the battery life sucked and then to top it all off after not even 6 months the screen went totally black it still worked like everyone elses but you couldnt see anything again dont waste your money sorry for the misspellings and punctuation but thinking about it makes me mad lol

been using this model for over 1 year now.. it's quite good. esp for clumsy people like me..accidentally has fallen from my jerky hands for a lot of times,also drenched in the rain,still,it's working well!! but if youre looking for phone with big storage for mp3's and stuff,this wont satisfy your needs.. good for calls,but for text messaging,not really,with limited characters,not to mention the 30 messages max.. but im still glad im using this phone, not really good but at least you feel safe,unlike other phone which will make you a paranoid thinking that someone might be following you to snatch it from you.. yeah it's heavy but it's worth carrying..

I must be abnormal because I've had my phone for almost a year and have not had any problems. In fact my wife also has one and the only problem she has had is that my 2yr old son lost the antenna and someone stepped on it and cracked the top cover. Other than that the phone still works just fine.

I had this phone for a little over a year....Im talking like a month. Within 6 months of getting the v555 that silver piece on the front fell off. Then July 31st the screen went dead. I had to purchase a new phone, I ended up losing all my numbers. I went back to my trusty NOKIA. I did like the set up of this phone, but with the charging and other problems I had I wouldn't suggest it.

I had an LG before but had to deal with Verizon, now I have this phone and it's JUST about as good as the LG (lg had a couple fancier features)...but I do NOT have to deal with Verizon. YAY! My Moto V550 has now been in constant use for nearly 5 months, and performance has been faultless. No �hangs�, no dropped calls, and reception in areas where my previous Samsung handset couldn�t find a signal. I live in a hilly country area, notorious for poor cellphone reception, but have had no problems. The phone is on Vodafone NZ. I like the V550 because it has clear and adequately loud voice reception, a great choice of ring and alarm/reminder tones, user-friendly menus, a good email system, and a decent degree of owner-configurability. The screen is bright and clear, and even a newbie-texter like me can manage the buttons well. The personal information management tools are a real plus for me � I use the calendar and reminders a lot, to augment a poor memory!! The camera is adequate for capturing exactly the size of image which is easily sent as an email attachment, or MMS. Bearing in mind its miniscule lens, it does OK! The phone feels well built, and solid in the hand, with no sloppiness or Razr-type creaks and groans. I can easily operate it one-handed when required, and the speakerphone is a great help when I need both hands for other things, like pen and coffee. Battery life is good on stand-by, but goes down pretty quickly when talking or surfing. Gaming doesn�t seem to affect it as much, though. I have loaded a few useful apps, by far the best of which is a full-internet browser, �Opera Mini�. This superb and completely FREE piece of software allows you to visit ANY webpage, not just WAP accessible ones. Look for it at www.mini.opera.com. My only minor grumbles about the V550 are its modest memory � a card-slot would�ve been nice � and the button layout for �answer� and �hang-up�. The button for delete when composing text or email is right above the red �hang-up�, so I have to be careful to hit the right one, or it ditches everything I just laboriously entered!! So in terms of bang-for-your-buck, I reckon the V550 makes pretty good sense. It may not have the bells and whistles of a Jasjar, or the sex-appeal of a Razr, but neither has it the prices of those devices. You gets what you pays for!

The worst. This cell phone not works properly and its battery is only for less than one day. I leave the battery charging all night long and almos 7pm it finishies. Battery, main board and flat have been replaced and the problem persists. So disappointed.

There is only one thing about this phone that kind of makes me mad and has made me already get a replacement phone after only a about a year, and that is how the charger plugs into the phone. It seems to work fine for a few months then all of a sudden the phone will stop taking a charge and you can't do anything about it except get a new one, or just not use your phone.

The Cup icon means JAVA. It's the program that helps to load programs, like games. If you go to the motorola website they should have an online manual.

bought this phone brand new, after couple of months it started to act strange, it would freeze and lock up at odd times. Sometime I feel like throwing it out the window. Took it to motorola and they told me it was the software but they can not do anything since the new software is not out. What a hell is that about. I have no choice but to either downgrade if possible to v551 or to buy a new phone. Any suggestions?

I've had the v555 for only a short time now. Before that I owed the v400 for over 2 years. Not any problems with the v400 over the time I owned it except reception was something left to be desired. The v555 FAR out proforms the v400 in reception. I believe this phone will be a good fit for anyone......Ed

i live in north america and i have the motorola V551 which is the same as the motorola V555 and i have had three of these phones in a year b/c on my first phone i could not hear people without putting my phone on speakerphone,the second phone my screen just went black one day and i could not see anything. I could still receive calls and text messages but I could not see who was calling me or texting me. I now have my third phone so i hope this one lasts until my contract is up.

This happened to me to for a while. I couldn't hear anything out of my phone. I had to use the headset for a month, but the funniest thing happened after month and couple days, i was able to hear again from my phone. I don't know what had happened, but i was glad to hear out of it again. Hope the same can happen to your husbands. Goodluck

My husband and I both have V555 and mine is pretty good, while my husband's kinda has gone downhill fast. I have no problems with it in anyway, but my husband can't hear out of the handset anymore, he has to have it on speakerphone all the time. We occasionally have our calls dropped but that might be on account of being in an isolated area. Yes, you can download Java Games, and Music/MP3/Truetones.(you have to go to the browser and check out the ringtone sites offered and download and save((not free))neither is the games)) It's an okay phone but you kinda have to hope for the luck of the draw when it comes to getting one...kind of like buying a car...you hope it won't be a lemon. email me if you'd like at [email protected]

I dislike the phone book the same multi line system for one person, profile style will be much more better. But overwall is a very good mid-(to high)-class phone. im done with motorola phones. i have this phone and after having it for 6 months, the reciever sounds stuffy and i gotta press it really hard to my ear to hear anyone. my mom has the same phone and the flip part of the phone got a short in it. needless to say it doesnt work anymore. other then that it was an okay phone. im switching to sony.

I bought the phone after carefully comparing with other brands and similar models. The phone has very convenient features. Bluetooth makes some many things so much easier. The camera has a pretty good resolution, the display is sharp and well colored. A lil heavy but still small enough for anyone on the move.

This phone was a great purchase for about 8 mos. Then the sound began to gradually decline in the ear piece. Eventually it got to low to understand the person I was talking to and I had to exchange it for a new one. Once again after about 8 mos. the volume has started to decline. I am swithing over to a nokia phone, as I have seen, they make the best products.

Yes, it has video recording! Are you sure about pricing? WHen they were both new, there was like a huge price difference. The V551 should only cost very little. Other colors? I've seen grey and black faceplates. To Chris: That's wierd, when i got my phone new, I used to always accidentally hit the web button. For a low price, this is a really good phone, reliable, never failed, good reception. Can also serve as a good backup phone in the future.

I have had the phone for about a month and I love it. As for the people who complain about not having one touch dialing, it does. You just have to know how to use it. The phone book entry has to be saved to the phone not the sim for it to work. Anyway, reception is excellent and pictures are great compared to most phones. I highly reccommend it to anyone wanting a reasonably priced reliable phone.

To krmit, if the dongle comes with software, you do not need Moto Phonetools. I have never even used Moto Phonetools, therefore I can't comment on it. Anyways, my advise is what ever you use, use only one disc/program at a time, if doesn't work, be sure to delete what you set up before trying any other programs. Diffrence in dongles? Other than th range(distance from computer), I can't think of any. Although versions has been updated a lot recently. If its for basic data transfer, I doubt that there are other differences. Anyways, glad to hear you like the phone. Although I have mentioned earlier before in this forum, i'll say it again, don't attempt to load an "bitmap" files, they don't work and causes you phone to lag like crazy, can only take out by using bluetooth!

I got the V555 a couple of weeks ago and it seems to work great. I was wondering about the Dongle for bluetooth communications to the phone. If I purchase a unit off ebay and it comes with the software do I also need the Motorola Phonetools to make it work or can I do everything with what it comes with? i had this phone a few weeks ago as a gift from my mom. This phone is a nice looking phone though there are so many flaws in terms of the navigation system of this phone but anybody could be used to it. the features are all good but the MESSAGING CAPABILITY is so poor!!!!!! I hated it... This phone only uses the Sim memory... That means you only have about 25-100 messages saved on your phone. That is okei provided that you are not shifting from one sim card messaging folder to another. Well the phone is nevertheless good. but i am very disappointed with its messaging capability.... I have a mot v505 a down grade from the v555.. to check the status of your battery go to setting, phone status, battery meter.. as for a flash the phone may not have but you can change the setup for the camera to differnt lighting condition from sunny to night... I found a great site to get MP3 ringtone (Audio3g.com) and its free!!!! Hope I have help some of you out with some questions Ill be getting my V555 soon can't wait it basically the same as my 505,but the 555 has has edge and video playback :)

The best thing about this phone is the video, it can record for 45 sec and more. I would recomend this phone to anyone who likes to record fights. Well this phone is one of the best video phones ever. You just have to ajust the video length to maximum when your on the video menu. Hope this is good info!

All v551 and v555 users beware, don't load any bitmap on your phone. I accidently did today and could not get in the pictures folder until I use my bluetooth to get the bitmap out. Everything is fine now. But bitmap causes heavy slowness and phone freeze too(not to mention no access to pictures). Scared me for a bit, thought my phone was dying on me, guess it was my bad.

That's a greal deal. I paid $99.99 cad with 2 year contract for mine. To v555 user: Are u sure u fully charged it? I charged it today when my battery bar still had 3 bars. Once I plug the charger, the indicator goes to one and flashes. after 2 hours or less, I checked up on my phone, it did not say "charge complete" on the outer display but rather on the inner screen. That's a little wierd, it used to say it on the outer screen, maybe i missed it when it flashed back to clock mode or something. Since, overcharging does not damage the phone (said on menu) try charging it for some hours unitl it says "charging complete" on one of the screen. If that still doesn't work, probably have to either use all battery than charge or its a defect. Hope that helps, cheers!

to v555 user: haven't paid much attention to that, other than not saying "charging complete" does the battery indicator show "full"? I will try it tonight. to Chris: Camera is better than most phone of its class. Espescially when you move it fast in video mode, it still shows decently unlike other phones blurring out. camera zoom is powerful compared to SE. lack of light maybe a concern, but never bothered me. I still recommend bluetooth dongle, never failed and easy to upload and download mp3,photo,video, etc.. Shop for cheap or used one, seen one for $20 U.S in a forum before. if 850 is avaiable on you carrier, quad-band will show its advantages often.

Both phones seemed to be equal in all other aspects, so since I liked the appearance of the z500 better, I was just going to go with that one. To Anna: Before I begin, i hope you understanding, I'm trying to give an honest opinion regardless of the fact taht I'm user a v551. You are better off with this phone than the SE z500. Here are my reasons: 1)Z500a uses a cstn screen, that is same as t610. 2)Z500a does not have ifrared or bluetooth, only usb port. (infrared or bluetooth would be much more convienient in transfering anything plus if u buy a usb cable, would be pretty much useless for any other phone) 3) SE cameras are very poor, even k700i(I had one before) 4) v551 has quad-band (al the bands you want) 5) some z500 (the early ones) tend to freeze for no reason. 6) Finally, I'm not using the v551 is the best phone in the world, just that the z500 is a bad choice, it's all about the exterior. For the V551: it's reliable(never failed), decent camera, low on memory as well as z500. everything's fine, but you would get bored of it quickly. hope that helps. Cheers

mp3? Don't know about usb, but probably it's drag and drop after all programs are setup and a connection is established. You may want to consider downloading an mp3 converter since many songs today are set in memory saving formats such as wma, wav, etc.. in which the v551 does not except. Remember, mp3's only! usb plug? correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it beside the battery charge plug? Don't know about prices for usb cable right now. When i got got my bluetooth adapter there is little price difference between the 2. From what i understand: Bluetooth: pros: 1)wireless connection for download and upload(up to 10-20ft I think, maybe even more) 2)very convenient(small size) cons: 1)have to be paitent(espescially the first time loading program etc.) 2)Usb Cable allows cheaper phone unlock options when you bring th ephone to a store to unlock, I think. Bluetooth does not give anything related to this. Personally, if unlocking is not an issue, I rather get bluetooth since its universal with all phones with bluetooth. USb cable limits to only one phone or sometimes a few similar phones of the same brand

For people with doubts about bluetooth:(here goes): 1)load the software that comes with bluetooth first. 2)attach the bt adapter to a usb port. (bluetooth logo in blue should come up at right hand corner) 3)double click it, a new window should appear 4)turn bt in phone on by selecting "settings", "connections", "setup","power"=on 5)go to "my bluetooth" beside view on the bt window on your computer, and choose "bluetooth device discovery" You may also want to choose "find me " on your phone under "setup" if computer cannot detect anything. 6)double click on the motorola phone logo on the bt window, and three icons should light up 7)choose the one with bt file transfer, a new file window pops up then drag and drop whatever you want to put one the phone into the files, or pull out anything from that window (containing files on phone) onto your computer. Hope this helps, those are my exact steps for bt transfer. Other programs may differ, and first time setting up bt may ask you to set a code. Feel free to ask any questions. cheers

To Alex: I admit the memory is small. Don't know about Nokia cameras, but the v551 should be much better the old ones, did u compare the video quality to the old horrible ones? it is true that battery sucks if you leave on extra features like, screensaver, scroll on menu, have you tried turning those off? Try as previously mentioned. For music, ringtones, pic, etc.. either data cable or bluetooth. For me I bought an aftermarket bluetooth for about $25-30 U.S. Not that hard. Anywyas, good luck to you if you are switching to Nokia. Ever considered saving up for K750i or other new phones with 1-2 mp?

the phone is alright the battary sux i have it on from 7 am to like 6 -8 pm making some calls that are like 2 min nit gets a low battery , it wouldnt last the whole day for you sound quality isnt that great and the volume for the ear peice could be louder. the camer isnt that great eitherit has trouble with lighting the motorola is deff a better phone wit better reception n camerea quality and the sound quality during calls is alot better to. but im gana switch to a nokia 6230 which has all the same features plus more and it has an mp3 player with a 32 megabyte card for music videos n pics n plus nokia is a better company with much better battery o yea and i have no clue on how to use blue tooth its really complicated n hard for me hope i helped u all

I'm using a cheap bt dongle. Very important to load the disc software included first before doing anything. I tired to play with bt without loading the disc, it would not work and some files were created so, installing after won't work either, had to dlete those files. So load the software first. There may be a few times the computer can't recognize the phone, just try again, turn on the bt for both. Choose "find me" from connections on your phone. The bt screen from computer should show a motorola icon, double click it and then icons such as file transfer should show up, then drag and drop, should be easy at that point. Hope this helps. in my opinion the limited "columns" game that came with this phone really suck. Really missed the Sony Ericsson Tennis game. ANybody know where I could download games for free? Gabby: To be honest, the 5.5mb memory is really small. Didn't really purposely got this phone, just got it as part of a good contract deal. Anyways, it can store 1.5- 2 mp3 songs depending on mp3 size. However, since I do not rely on it to play music, i just use ringtones(one or two lyrics sentences) and can store a lot of them(11 ringtones with, 4525kb memory of free space left). Comparing to other vga phones out there, this is really good. Much better than k700(i used to have k700). Yes, there is sound when you record from video. Just don't compare this cam to 1mp and more ones. Video recording is much smoother than older phones like k700(very unclear when shooting video and moving it too qucikly). Since this phone is not expensive, cheap with contract, you get a lot of bang for the buck. Very reliable(unlike the v300-v600 series). Although bluetooth is a tiny bit slower to start up than ifrared, but still very convineient. IT really depends on your needs. If you need to listen to alot of music all the time, this phone would not suit you. Other than that, I can't find anything wrong with the phone. Although, I'm still considering the SE w800 later, even if i have the chance to buy that, I may still keep this one. Cheers

About battery life: Forgot how long I charged for the first time, but Motorola stated in the menu that overcharging would not harm the phone, so I just charge the phoen before I go to bed and use it the next morning, At first, I find the battery consupmtion is too fast, but as someone had previously pointed out, cancelling scrol options on menu, avoid using Java and camera for too long(ex. when you are not using it, shut it off), the battery life is alot better. One more thing, very important to get rid of the screensaver. So far no problems. Never screen freeze, quite reliable and the quad-band is very useful when my friend's tr-band phone has no signals. To Jorge: I downloaded the whole mp3 from bt and works fine. But since it only has 5mb memory, it took up almost half the memory already.I'm considering downloading ringtones and keeping one "full song" Dont' really worry about pics, sizes are too small to matter. I hear people complaining about battery. In my opinion most phone are about the same. Anytimne you use Java in games or the camera for too long, it will eat up batteries like crazy. I mean unless a phone has major problems with battery such as too short battery life or phone freeze. I wouldn't worry too much

I think motorola is a poor immitation of Nokia - I hate my present phone. It freezes and won't send messages or move. I have to turn it off to get it to work and even remove the battery. It is only a new phone, out middle of last year and it has not been dropped or misused. I also do not receive messages, phone calls or missed phone calls until the next day or later on a regular basis. I have to constantly turn the phone off and on to ensure it continues to work. I am upgrading to a Nokia as soon as I settle on the ONE !

Pictures and videos seems clearer than K700i. Hope I don't bore you with k700i comparisons, but I had a K700i before. Vic, if you're considering transfers such as mp3 often, I recommend a phone with bt such as this one. Past experience with data cable was pretty bad, couldn't get anything done. Also, I really hated SE software. WOuld rather use software that came with bt or infrared adapter

To Vic: Just got this phone yesterday, I was thinking about z500 too. The reasons I got V551 are 1) TFT screen compared to CSTN 2) Bluetooth 3) quad band For a tiny bit of price different I went for this phone Result: 1)SCreen is even better than I expected. Similar to k700i (really surprised) 2)Easy mp3 transfer with BT 3)The camera's alright, unlike some had said about Motorola. Maybe they improved upon it. Is it my imagination, I feel its better than K700i. The only drawback is not very user friendly. I mean if you had used an SE before you would spent double the time to perform a function(maybe I haven't created enough)shortcuts yet. Overall, I'm pleased with the phone.

I am madly in love with this fon and would do anything to get ma hands on it. I wanna know its defects b4 i buy it cuz i am going to use it in Ghana and moto has not manufacturing plant in Africa. i got it at best buy... its for employees only but if customers go in and ask for it we have to give it to them... its for cingular and AT&T and we sell it for 125

I think the persons who said about the phone being old techno and having poor camera and the ugly pertruding camera are blind and stupid this is a really nice phone from wha i can see yes its not top of the line but wait and see the price before you run your trap as i said the phone looks wonderful and wen it is released i am seriously considering gettin one and by the way the features are great. Can motorola stop making protruding antenna, it looks so ugly. Furthermore, the design is more or less identical to the old motorola. 2nd monochrome display?!! Please give us at least 65k 2nd color display.
