i have my nokia E61i since the 1st release and this phone did exceed my expectation.. unfortunately after all of the years from 2007 till now 2014 (7 years) the phone battery does not last long enough not unlike before, which i need to be recharge every 6 to 7 hours of ussage of any kind (sms,call,wifi,bluetooth or any kind).. but still a kick-ass phone..

If Nokia has to re-capture some of the smartphone market share it lost to competitors, it need to re-launch some of the phased out models; same physical dimensions & design as the original but with latest features/functionality - E61i, N70, N73, N79. am sure like me, there are many, who have seen the the heydeys of Nokia and know what its business phones are worth would gladly take to them. Hope someone in Nokia takes note.

I loose this phone 2 years ago, after 1 year of using. I am searching again for this phone, even after using Galaxy's/touch / tablet's or Android. This should be keeped by Nokia as best entry and remanufactured as best of../ without modification. Can somebody ask to Nokia to do so? :D I find SH and I will buy it. The distance between buttons, baterry life...and so on-good thinks. Hope Symbian will be kept also as still an OS to produce softw for it.

u can directly go to ur browser and type youtube.com. then if u click any video to see it may ask to define access point for real player. then u close ur browser..go to menu>media>real player>settings> define ur carriers access point....then close ur menu and again go to browser..open the youtube....play and there u go...:)

i cannot play youtube videos (why?) when i try to watch video it opens t-mobile browser and asking for GSM streaming connection. I cannot install java on this phone and even *.sis files i couldn't install any theme, game or app (except: opera mini v7, and opera mobile v10), i have tryed every sites with specified, bug fixed apps and games for this phone (*.sis) and they didn't work. I have watched on youtube guy that have 75 different apps and games in 3D and they run perfectly on his phone. WHAT A F IS WRONG WITH MY PHONE ??? Answer please.

i used my E61i for more than 4 years.. it is a strong phone..i sometimes accidentally drop the phone..and it still working properly...the battery life is good.. i used it to surf the internet through wifi and it last till 5 hours non stop..you can imagine how long the battery will last on standby mode..

The Screen is scratch resistant and one of the most liking thing is that in full sunlight also the display is very clear to read.. Simply superb phone. yes i have one.. e61i, metallic, screen still new ( as i had covered it with a removable sticker), usability very user friendly, bt yes a si had played and played loads of games need to replace the joystick key.. have around 50+ games and facebook, and other applications as well.. 128mb sd stick, .. i bought this from hongkong computer centre @ january 2008... still looks a brand new piece

This was once my phone and probably the least favourite. My dad loved this phone because he is a businessman himself. Once he moved to the E71, he gave me this phone and I used it for a year. My view is that the phone is oversized. It's big and pretty uncomfy to hold. The keyboard is stiff and is one of my least favourite. However, the build quality is very, very astonishing. The Blackberry connect availability was very useful back then.

If you get error messages like, certificate error, phone date not correct etc while installing themes and softwares. change your phone's date to 2 to 3 years back and try installing, if errors persist than u need to hack you phone by....secman, drakkarious, heloox, etc..

This is a great classic symbian phone. I had Nokia E71 and it runs faster -- of course, due to coupled RAM and faster processor, but i love the E61i more. Larger screen, awesome keyboard. Hv problem with the phone? Update your firmware boring with how it looks? Hack the firmware and there so much tweaks you can do i installed the latest firmware, and it can execute the almost fullfilled 2GB micro SD seamlessly even i can install and play N-Gage 2.0 on this phone,

I had this phone for over a year. It wasnt bad, loved it infact. One thing that grabbed my attention, was the keyboard. Keys are big and fingers adjusted to them immediately. The keyboard is very encouraging, i would jot down every little idea and quickly save for later reference. I now need a replacement and considering The E6, but the screen along with keyboard layout is much smaller. I got big hands, and afraid spending on a phone i hate using. Anyone out there having the same challenges?.

I have used this smart phone (Nokia E61i) for almost two years. It's really a good one, i can see the number when i work outside (under sunlight). With it's CPU Dual ARM 9. 220MHZ processor i can get fast internet (faster than Nokia E90). The battery is good and camera is OK! (even 2MP). . Quick office is acceptable especially Push E Mail. hi guys. its a great phone. qwerty keypad is very convenient in texting. i still love this phone, i have it for 3 yrs now. downside is slow & sluggish in opening basic apps. try to turn off apps in the background by long pressing the menu button then select the running apps then turn it off. if it will not work, switch the theme to default (dots or nokia). if symptoms persist, restart the phone then uninstall unnecessary apps to free some memory in the phone. - regards.

Agree - been using this since Sep 2007. I am using this quite a bit with BB connect - very reasonable Nokia Maps (with bluetooth GPS). Excellent peice of hardware - my OS went through some resets, but this was due to some unstable apps.

I have been using this phone from past 3.5years.. this is a excellent build quality with longest battery life(i get 4days battery life even now). I also installed the Gmail Maps, which is as good as in any new phone. For GPS one can go for Bluetooth GPS module.

The phone is actually both low and high end in my opinion. It feels SO great in my hands! I've mainly been using Opera Mini, Fring/Nimbuzz and an eBook reader on mine for nearly 6 months now and I've not regretted my 60� decision even once! Since it's Symbian it's great! You have so many choices with it, I'm occasionally running my Python scripts, which I need for boosting my work performance. The impressive part of this phone is the battery. The web browsing and reading puts me to sleep before the battery drains. The keyboard and screen layout could be a little better, there's some free space at the top and bottom, so a bigger screen could have been fitted there. I've noticed some lag when moving in menus (I get it, E61i only has 64Mb of RAM and 2xx MHz of processing power), but Symbians' Easter Egg magically fixed it, menus were much faster after that. If you haven't heard of it, then Google for "S60 speed hack", it involves the calendar application. I've had quite many phones before E61i (LG Arena and LG Renoir were the most recent - dumb I was when buying them), Nokia 6230 was the only one that I really liked, pity that it broke down.

This is my first opinion post ( be gentle :p ) hi i am from the sunny and kool island of Jamaica (home of Bob Marley. . . .one love yall). You asked if 120 is gud for this phone. Well i paid 10000 JMD which is a couple dollars over 120 euro. So yes its worth it, but my advice, check to see the quality of the phone screens ribbon (yes it has a ribbon under the light senor) it tends to go crispy after years of use and will cost you about 40 USD to replace it. But this is my fone and i love it! It can be slow at times but once you learn how to conserve your RAM it proforms better than a blackberry. Thanks. (Holiness first till we under the earth! selah. )

This was one good phone which I used for 3 and a half years. From 2007 May till November 2010. This was the last of E series phones which was manufactured in Finland. Later E series were manufactured in Korea and also China. I replaced the battery once (excellent battery BP-4L) and also had the mobile cover replaced once due to scratches on the surface. This phone has survived many accidental falls. I am sure this phone can save you from a bullet shot if you keep it in your shirt pocket :) The loudspeaker of this phone is good.. The QWERTY keyboard was nicely spaced for quick typing of messages, mails and notes. The major problem with this phone was that it wasn't getting damaged... due to which I couldnt find a reason to replace it. I still have the phone with me in good working order. Only that its retirement time for it. I never think I can use another phone for this long!!

Yes, this model has this built in problem. Its a predicament with this model. You've reach any of the Nokia service centre to get it rectified. I've got it done in Hyd, which will cost you Rs.350/- within 1hr they will replace the ear piece with a new one.

Please go ahead and buy this phone for Rs. 3,500 cos it is difficult getting even a first hand one now. One of the best phones from the Nokia stable. sad, they phased out this phone which would have sold well even now as it has a dedicated fan following like me who will not part with it if they really know how much this phone can be of help for business or for entertainment too.

Well you could get it for cheaper from your second hand dealer. However your friend is more trusted, so you get to see the piece. This phone is end of life by Nokia, so support will end soon. Also it has no FM Radio, which is important for me :) Unless you have a specific use or need for this particular phone, there are better options in the market. I suggest you look at these options and not buy this phone.

The solution is really simple.... This type of error occurs when the same number is stored in two different names.... The system fails to promt the name of the caller as it gets confuse which name to display so it end up displaying the number only.... I hope now u got ur sollution......

hi Asad u really can have skype with ur phone! just install the nimbuzz or iscote. with nimbuzz u can sign in with all IM (skype, yahoo, hotmail, facebook, google talk.... specially u can call via all dat IM also). if u wana get more soft which u can not install or not compatible with ur phone u can hack it with hello ox2 / hello carbide ( hello carbide is de best n easiest for hacking e61i )after that u can install everything on ur device even N-GAGE 2.0 now m really love it so much even i got it 3 years ago due to it has everything dat i need office, messaging, IM and specially i got all kind of game with it ( Simulator,SP1 and N-GAGE....)

Hi Peter, you can download limited # of application on to your E61i. Please ensure you download and install all these application on to you MicroSD Card rather than on to your on board memory. Even I have noticed at time in spite of storing all the data on my Micro SD card I still had difficulties in downloading more applications. Best option you have is keep the onboard memory empty as much as possible. And then try downloading the application and every now and they clear the cache and the history that should give way to further downloads!

Yes the 3G in this phone is working too. i always use this phone to be my laptop modem, its work good can be 3 hours in a good signal. i even ever try to use video calling with my E61i to my sister's N70,its last for 45 minutes for full charges untill low battery, just turn the back camera to my face so she can see me. or try to use a big mirror so both of us can see each other. So... now i want to change my E61i with....?? maybe N900 ..is it good?? or motorola milestone ...???

I personally have used the E61i for a 2good years and over these 2years I had not major trouble with the phone except that I can't use the phone browser to surf rich internet content. Otherwise the phone works like a charm. I think you can never expect an upgrade of the e61i from nokia. The 2.8inch screen is amazing best to watch movies on. The Camera works like a charm in spite of 2meg camera it take a few decent pics. This phone is best known for its QWERTY keyboard over the years there's no phone that has been built by any company that is as rich as the E61i's keyboard. Its really well placed even a person with the fattest thumb can type really quick on it. The Battery life is amazing and the multi-media feature out the world though it lacks a DiVX player which can be downloaded.

without the secondary camera you could use 3G for the data transfer, and also calling just without the other person seeing you that's all... the blink light works to notify you if there's a new text message, call, or email. etc... you can turn it on/off... e61i going slow overtime because overtime it accumulates stuff, programs deleted but leaving behind orphan files, etc... if you hard reset it and install only the essential programs you will find it works fast (enough)... i use e61i for a long time. my girlfriend gave me e52 so i'm using it mainly and e61i as secondary. but now my dad's using my e61i... if i were to replace the e61i i'd probably look to the upcoming C6 or perhaps 2.2 android...

My E61i firmware is 2.0633.65.01 RM-227 nokia E61i-1 . This phone is great.only the keypad lamp goes die,but sometimes turn on its self,maybe the optic cable going something wrong. You 1st install latest version OVI SUITE available in nokia website. Then run it. Connect your mobile through bluetooth. In TOOLS tab will find connect internet and SOFTWARE UPDATE. e61i is an older version of e63 or e71, and uses 9.1 symbian os rather than the new versions found in e63 or so.. performance wise, e63 is par since it has new os version and as well, uses faster processor... so i would wonder why you chose e61i rather than e63? are you just too dumb to see and compare its specs or just too pinched to buy e63? weee... newez, e63 is a lot more cheaper than e61i tho... e61i still rocks!!!

hello everyone, i've used nokia e61i for about a year now, and im not that impressed. first the good sides: its a great business phone, it can edit documents, view .doc,.ppt and .pdf files. it has a large screen enough for any business man. its qwerty is great and very easy to use. moreover it has a great support for softwares in the nokia website now the downsides: its microphone sound is a disaster, u cant hear from the person calling u unless u use a headphone, i dont know if this is the case for all nokia e61i or just my one. anyway, another big disadvantage is that u cant zoom into a powerpoint presentation. well u can see print preview and then zoom into the document but still thats really hard and u cant go through pages in print preview with the desired zoom. finally the greatest disadvantage is that its SLOW. i mean really slow. nokia e63 is far more faster than this phone. so the bottom line is that e61i has some great advantages when it comes to bussiness but it has got some disadvantages as well when u just need a phone just to call someone, or u want to do more with ur documents, maybe thats why nokia isnt blackberry. i hope my comments help u ppl to decide. for any help plz contact ([email protected]). thanks

Hi there, am having a serious problem with my e61i, when I try to charge it using the normal and original charger, it charges for a little while and then eventually dies and says battery empty, recharge. I now have to use a universal charger, where I physically take out the battery and leave it to charge. Any ideas on what the problem could be?? Is is the charging port or power supply that could have blown?

I had the same problem, although the charger falling out was my fault due to the abuse I give this phone. Screwdriver, a soldering gun and a bit of time fixed the problem though! This is a great phone and is seriously tough. I've given it a lot of abuse, bashing it against walls, stamping on it, etc. but it always comes good. Planning on upgrading to the E72 once my operator picks it up but it will be an emotional goodbye and I'm doubtful the E72 build quality will match this:(

I agree... Over 2 years with it too myself and cannot think of a suitable replacement. Wonderful for e-book reading. E71 seems superior but I personally prefer the bigger handset and screen for working with it. Qwerty is wonderful. Screen is readable in full daylight and with a protector/film on it's even better. Unit is wonderfully built. Great phone...

i have dis fon for more than a year now. its not suprising that the fon is slow. it takes a few seconds to display a simple sms. theirs nothing wrong with the fon. nokia has outfitted this with a 220mhz speed with many features. i've installed opera mini & its breez surfing the internet with a big screen its very conviniet. e63 is much faster with no hang ups, but the smaller screen is a draw back.

Guys just got a second hand E61i, my brother bought a new one so after running through his phone I decided to get myself a second hand one hehehehe :) only problem is that it's slower than what my brother has and battery life is severely diminished it only lasts a day and a half on standby. Anyways I'd understand the battery life, but the phone's slowness I couldn't explain. Did they come out with different sub models for the e61 with faster processors? I tried removing the memory card, formatting it, to no avail. I even flashed the OS to the latest available OS on the nokia website hoping that it might be a virus or something to get rid of it still nothing. The unit is so slow, it takes approximately 5-10 seconds to open an sms message from the main screen to the sms message. That's how slow it is. I don't even have applications and games installed on this unit as of the moment it's the bare OS with some contacts and pics and videos but most of it is on the memory card so I don't deplete the available memory on the phone. Any suggestions guys? Is there a section on the phone with a memory module that I can reseat or upgrade? I really like the phone and flexibility and functionality... but if I can't get this thing to work properly I'll probably get an e63 a brand new one at that. E series phones rock hehehe they're like small computers you can bring anywhere :) So far m still waiting on an e series with touch screen capability that's as bang for the buck as the e63 :)

I prefer E61i coz I have large palms and fingers. I tried E71 and it was impossible to type correctly without difficulties. If you don't need: GPS, Radio, 2nd Camera, HSDPA. Then go with E61i. Larger screen and keypads, robust frame, cheaper.

Initially, the keypad and the screen seem to be small but give ur fingers and eyes two days with the instrument and u r ready to face the world as u were with a E61i. But Nokia is giving lots of installed progs with the phone including my favorite Internet Radio. The speed, the GPS, the camera and the phones looks and feel are definitely much better than E61i. The USB and BT are faster variety. The sound is louder while talking, which is one of the issues in E61i.

How I wish it was that simple. The secondary or the front camera can only be used with 3G services for video chat. Incidently, in India Nokia has deployed 'Nokia eGurus' in most cities. His job is to clarify ur doubts about E series instruments at your residence. Ask a Nokia dealer about the eGuru. BUT ONLY FOR E SERIES. Give it wide publicity.

awhile back there's question about displaying background picture to cover all the screen main display (minus the lower and top for the menus and info)... resizing to 320x240 doesn't do the job. the phone automatically reformat the display so there's some gap around the picture... to do it, resize your picture to 320x200 and it will show full screen (minus the top & bottom)... cheers!

Please write down your experience later on e61i vs e71... Especially on writing issue and also display issue... Since both seem to be the biggies difference... Processing speed and what not of course can't be compared as the e71 would surely win hand down...

Thanks a pile friend. I have bought an E71 today and find that its AGPS is fantastic. It showed my location exactly. And even after running fring I have 108 MB of internal memory left to play around with. So, now no chance of hung up mobile. But I still cant figureout how to use the secondary camera as I havent got enough time on my hands right now. May be in a couple of weeks. 5800 does not have enough memory. I used fring and then could not open my site tevatia.com. It froze and had to be switched on again. After having used my son's iPhone, I am quite comfortable with touch screen. But less RAM I am not accepting. How I wish Nokia had given 128 or more MB of RAM in E61i. Thanks once again.

Vinay, if you like the e63.. why not get another one? 5800 is another/different form factor. much different in size too... much different in typing... perhaps you should visit your nokia store or other stores and try out the 5800 in your hand (even if using a dummy phone) and see if you like it. no point in having all the bells and whistles but not liking to use the phone... i'm not saying the 5800 is bad, just different. in view of features, perhaps it's closer to compare it with E71... not sure about price difference though...

Yeah, even I wish it was possible to up the RAM to 120 and above. Another surprise. My son returned from the US and took away my new E63. So I am back to my samsung X700. Planing to buy a Nokia 5800 which has all the features of E61, only more. Has AGPS, front camera with a 3.2 MP main camera. But some how Nokia was miserly in giving it enough RAM. only 81 storable RAM. Better than 60 of E61i. plus a 3.2 inch screen with TV out. Please advise if I shud go in for it.

@ Vinay! Well I've been a very proud owner of the Nokia e61i for a year and half until I sold it for another phone the samsung i780. I still love the e61i for the that amazing screen and superb qwerty keypad one of the best key pads the spacing between each of the buttons is so amazing even a person who has thick/fat fingers can easily type a email very quickly. On the other hand both the E71 and E63 is such a bad piece of machine for typing those email fast, it slim and small for sure but can be very hard to type an email in the shortest possible time without making any errors. I wish Nokia could launch the e61i with a better memory of a minimum of 256mb RAM and 256mb ROM with a higher processor of 540Mhz. I would surely go an buy one.

yes it is a hardware problem for sure. the connection of the "EL lamp" (backlight) is at the bottom right of the phone. There is probably a bad soldering.

I use my E61i for 2 years. My E61i keypads lights has turn off too after 7months use. So there is no light on all keypads. I have service to NPC in sby and they just hard reset and up grade firmware , and still no result., they ask me to sent my phone to NPC jkt for 2months, wow so long for fix this problem.but i dont want to sent my phone to NPC jkt. Afterthat i go to NPC singapore at suntec city mall, i takes 4 days and there is no result , my all keypads lamps still turn off,they tell me to wait 1 week again because they must orders optic cable and lamps and i should pay sing$70 to fix this problems . So i cancel . Now i still use my E61i with no keypads lamps. Ony other user had this problem ? Tell me plss

Vinay... You can reinstall the firmware yourself. Using the NSU it will first look for new firmware and if no new firmware available then it'll ask you whether you want to reinstall the current/latest firmware... Anyway, hope everything will be ok with yours... Cheers!

Steve, I had this version and it worked fine with no visible difference. The I installed the new Office , only to learn that it was a 15 days trial SW. Uninstalled the new office and lost the old office too. Tried to install the new FW to get the office back. The mobile somehow hung and landed up in the Nokia Care. Hope it comes back working. Its been over a week now. So, back to my old reliable, Samsung X700 till E 61i comes back.

Thanks for the gen info. I had upgraded to this version but in general usage did not find much of a difference. I also installed latest version Office only to find that it was a 15 day trial SW. uninstalled it and lost the old office too. Tried to install this latest Symbian FW to get the Office back. A major problem with nokia E61i is that, many of its users are not able to install software .sis file(s). I had search on net for the solution, but I get little benefit of it. So that's why I am giving a a suggestion. Q: Do you have a problem during installation of .sis file? A: Then simply change your mobile date to the date, which comes after the file(.sis) creation date(which you want to install). For example; If file(.sis) date is Dec 14 2007, then your mobile date should ideally be Dec 15 2007. If you need any further help you can ask me freely, I will be glad to help you all.

Nikkon, 1. No other option than to hard reset. You could try asking the Nokia Service Center if you worry about doing it yourself (including upgrading firmware). Seems like there's some files/temp files used by programs or system that you're not aware of in the phone memory. Regardless you opted to use memory card for sms/messages and programs, every time you installed programs there will be some files written to the phone memory... 2. I had written the steps to turn On Predictive Text. Please see previous pages... Good luck...

Hi all E61i users, I am using this set for the last one & half year now and without any doubt an excellent business phone. Recently I have some problems for which I need assitance: 1. The phone memory is 60MB. When I check the phone memory in use it shows 57MB. But at the same time when I add the breadown of the usage (sms, calender, contacts, images, docs, sound files, video files etc.) the total comes to only 6-7MB as I store almost everything (including my SMS & email) in the card memory (1GB). Since yesterday when downloading some files in my mobile from the net; the pop up message "Memory full; delete some data" shows up. I have observed from my experience that even if I download a 100MB file i did not need to free up any phone memory space as the file directly was stored in the card memory. I have tried resetting the phone, clearing the internet cache, deleting the cookies; but nothing seems to help to free up my phone memory. 2. How to activate the predictive text option (current firmware version: 3.0633.69.00). I do not want to upgrade the firmware as I almost killed my phone when I tried to upgrade the firmware by myself & the phone went dead. I would appreciate any assistance in this regard. sometimes sim card goes bad... you could try getting a replacement sim card from your provider. it should be a free service to replace that sim card. see if that fix your problem..

as the name suggest the wlan scan will only scan... and will not connect/disconnect you to a connection... to connect/disconnect you have to do it manually...

OR are you trying to use the phone without any sim card in it? the phone will function without sim card me think, but any functions that have to do with accessing the sim card will not be there. if you're using the phone without sim card it might give you error when trying to access those features that need sim card...

If it is a SW prob (cud very well be one), reinstall the firmware (update your firmware free) or if it is a hardware prob (cud very well be one too), head for the Nokia Service Cen. But try the upgrade option before heading for the service cen.

I have mundu fm as well but compared to number of stations on nokia internat radio, it is infant. Actually, due to size of the SW of mundu being one third, it is less draining on sys resources.

Are you not lucky, E61i owners. A long time back I had posed a question to this forum. How do I use the phone's camera as a webcam? The answer has been found today. On your computer, connect to www.wwigo.com. Download and install wwigo SW. Then on ur mobile connect to the same site and download the .sis file and install. Configure ur IM (skype, msn, or yahoo or whatever) to use wwigo webcam. And u r ready to use ur E61i as a webcam.

Just to share some experiences with E61i. I was in NY for two months with no International Roaming. But due to Fring I was never out of reach. How. WiFi. I always found unsecured WiFi LANs everywhere in New York. I could browse with Opera Mini and I could chat and talk with Fring. And all those who use WiFi, install WeFi from Nokia downloads. It will keep you connected by searching for free WiFi points always. The Power of WiFi.

I have a prob with my E61i. I am using the latest version of FRING. Loaded it today only. But even before that while Fring is running in the background, I get a "memory Full" message whenever i want to run something else. On checking up I found only 10 MB of my phone memory being used. 51 MB is still free. On the memory card front, I have over 400 MB out of 2 GB free. Everytime I want to run third prog I have to switch off fring. Could someone tell me the why and how of this prob. Thanks.

Nokia E61i speaker volume is too low. I have to use loudspeaker mode to hear anything, if there is background noise. In a quiet area the volume is sufficient. I wonder is the noise cancellation somehow lowers the speaker output beyond recognition. I thought it was just me but I asked a friend of mine to listen, and he also had extreme difficulties hearing, due to Nokia E61i speaker volume way too low. In the loudspeaker mode I also have to turn volume to nearly max, which must be annoying because then the microphone alse gets the max volume, causing shouting.

E61i is so different from n958gb. If you like 61, 95 will look to you like a cheep toy from china. Better solution is n82 if you want something smaller, with gps, Wi-Fi, 5mp cam, bigger memory,... But e61i is a computer. n958gb is so bad... Try with e71. Smaller screen (2,3in) but great, phone. just take it bouth (n95 & e71) in your hnd and you will see the difference. Same thing is with n82. much, much better than n95 8gb. E 71 is the fastest but n82 have the best 5mp camera... It's your choice but just don't buy n95 8gb trust me.

hey just simply go to settings and general, go to security, phone and sim card,go to keypad autolock period.it promptly asks you how many minute you want to be automatically lock.i put 1min.then it asks you the code,if you get a new phone nokia factory code is 12345 then confirm.if u want to change it later on u change it.hope that helpful

The software and phone is stable and easy to use, the keyboard is excellent and internet and wifi connectivity is great. It's a very good business phone and I'm hoping to get a E71 next.

Do you chose to keep the messages on the phone memory or on the memory card? It would work faster if you put it on the phone memory, but as the memory space decreases the slower it gets... So try to put them on the memory card... But even then with so many messages it will make the phone slower with time... Same deal with computers... If you don't clear the cache and temp files... The more they are the slower your computer gets... Or the less free space you have on the hard drives the slower your computer would be... So, if you don't want to delete those messages you could store them elsewhere. Use message back-up programs to copy (and/or move) your messages to different place on the memory card or store them on your computer/laptop...

Great Mobile from Nokia, I do a lot of Surfing Using WIFI, i use Opera Mini so the Pages Load up Quiet Fast,The Keyboard is Good & Well Spaced out, unlike the Nokia E71, Battery is Superb, Almost a week on Full Charge, Built Quality is Great, Camera is Average, but Functional as is the Video Recording, Well My Opinion 9/10.

when you are in a conversation, press the up/down (white) button on the left side of the phone (when you're looking at the screen). Up to increase the volume, down to decrease. If you're talking about the volume for the ringer (when there's an incoming call)... Look at the Profile Setting... @darkestnight, hope you find your answer at the other forum...

Anyway... there's a difference between N70 & E61i: N70 Symbian OS 8.1a , Series 60 UI E61i Symbian OS 9.1, Series 60 v3.0 UI Perhaps that's the problem? Maybe you should download the right version of the modded operamini for the E61i... You shouldn't be able to install the wrong version in the first place, but who knows... Perhaps could be installed but just not working because of that reason... Just a thought...

I just received this phone a month ago. I love it! I prefer the old school look compared to the new e71. Phone is solid and looks professional. I've had over 10 remarks on it looking cool and questions whether it just came out. It does look like calculator though haha. The free themes and apps are great. Gmail and miniopera made this thing work much faster. I am satisfied with this purchase!

hi! what i mean when i use myglobe gprs to myglobe wap site i can connect and its totally free but when im outside myglobe portal like browsing to other sites friendster.com,hotmail.com,yahoo.com etc.. it cost my prepaid load.i have N70 and it has a opera 4.2 mod even a 1peso remaining load i can browse to the internet whatever site i go to it let me but when i use my E61i always "failed to connect error message" i can use my E61i with a wifi connection,no problem but when i use opera 4.2 mod and use myglobe gprs connection as portal in order to go to other sites it wouldn't lete me.

Try www.getjar.com. It has games and other SW for all mobiles. You have to select your device first and then it will display the SW for your device.

Operamini is free to use... It's using whatever gprs service you're subscribing... So i don't see the connection between using the modded operamini to internet service... i'm using nuclear mod myself and using it for the additional feature.. not for the connection. Could you clarify?

Okay. Could you browse the internet using the nokia browser? If yes, then the problem is with the Operamini. If you can't browse or connect (email using the messaging feature), then the problem is with the phone setting and/or with the provider. If you can connect with nokia browser and/or could use the email (from messaging) I'll suggest you to download a fresh version of the Operamini and try again. Let's see what happens next.

If you can get far enough on the operamini... Go to Tools-Settings-Network Setup Protocol. Change the protocol from HTTP/Socket to another. Then try again. after switching you could click on the Network Setup. It will test your connection and will tell you whether it's working or not. If still failed, switch it back again and try again. Sometimes http works for me... Sometimes socket works for me....

Are you able to connect to the internet using your nokia browser before? If not then maybe your phone has not been setup to connect to the internet. contact your provider for settings (some provider will also need your request to "turn on" internet connectivity).

MZ, firstly, where have got your thirdparty SW installed? It seems that you have them on your phone memory. If so, uninstall them and re-install on your memory card and free up some ram. I have done the same and I can run 3 to 4 pgms simultaneously. Secondly, your having enough space on your memory card does not mean very much as the card is just a store room while your pgms are loaded into the RAM (where probably you have installed your pgms). I have about 56 MB RAM free (phone memory).

i'm not sure why yours is like that but mine i could open up opera mini while opening 3 quickoffice with no problem... or opera mini and game Monopoly/Life no problem either... most of the time i open 2-3 programs at the same time... the only problem for me is when i press the menu (yinyang logo lookalike) it takes awhile to load the menu... other than that all is well...

- the overall speed is to low to run any applications. - Low Ram, so you will have pop up telling you close some applications as memory is low, although you are using only 1 application currently running and I have 1500 M.B. free on the memory card plus 30 M.B. free on the phone memory

Hi- I have a small but irritating issue with my E61i, when I want to enter text into a edit field the pop up screen appears in blue with black text, hellishly difficult for me to read except in very dark room. Yes I wanted to change my anti virus pgm to kasperskt from f-secure. so i disabled f-secure and installed kaspersky little realising that i would be harmed in such a big way. I bought the phone in India and am presently in the US in NY and thats where it happened. Once I go back I will give to nokia service for the need ful but my sons are laughing at me. Initially i was one up on one of them as he was using a basic nikia phone. i m in ny till 25 feb 2009. the prob now is that unless i disable the firewall of kaspersky i cant proceed as it does not allow anyone to write to the phone memory. And worst is that i have not heard from kaspersky USA either. Their 48 hrs expired over a week back. HELP PLEASE.

Well, actually intend to buy it for may parents because the large landscape screen will suit them pretty well and the reason for asking about Yahoo! Chat was because they have a Yahoo! account and can talk with other family members. The large display suits my father who uses specs and also has large hands and the big buttons will also be of great convenience to him. Hi there. If you can't do: 1. Hard reset *#7370# and/or 2. Updating/reinstalling the firmware using NSU. Then looks like you have to go to the service center.

I am in trouble. I have been using E61i since July 2008. It was working perfectly till morning of 01 Jan 2009. In the early morning I changed my F-Secure anti virus pgm to kaspersky and that did it. Now the phone hangs and it does nothing. Although the clock works but thats the only thing that works. I have to switch it off by removing the battery. I have tried to reinstall the OS but cant as kaspersky's firewall does not allow any pgm to write to the phone. And I cant do anything about it as I cant stop kaspersky to load on rebooting the phone. Any ideas friends???????

@Anne, you could try PDF+. @Tio, if you want the data gone you should do a hard reset by pressing *#7370# then the security numbers 12345 (if you didn't change it previously). There will be some leftover in your memory card, though, so format your card afterward.

It is a good device. But it doesn't shown the web pages look like computer. It doesn't support flash clips. I hope next firmware version solve this issue. Last firmware ver 2.0633.65.01 03-10-2007 Nokia E61i users still waiting latest firmware version.

I think this is a great phone i have used every phone from e61i to n96 but i still feel that the nokia e61i is the best phone for browsing and email .very comfortable screen and buttons to work and do things . nokia should upgrade the same modle E71 is not as good as e61i cheers vicky

make sure that wifi scanning is on. if a hot spot is detected, but u cant browse using the built in nokia internet explorer. install opera mini. this should fix the problem.

Hi man. You know this happens when you r trying to connect to a WiFi spot, "which is not a Router". For example a WiFi USB Modem or anyother else different from a router one. For sure your phone is not gonna get connected.

Somebody talked about free games, I have a wap based website that lets you download music, games application and little Adult Content. Perhaps its not the best sites but you sure will not feel its a waste of time

My phone works perfectly for 13 months now. I also bought e51 two months ago, wich is much faster, but e61i is uniqe because of its screen, keypad and battery life, i dont know if there is a phone with stronger battery lifetime

dunno about your old emails... but for new ones... you can sign-up for gmail account. then forward your emails to the gmail account. then install the gmail apps on the phone. works very well and fast too... you can read, write, whatever... p.s. perhaps on your existing email you could forward the older mails to, in which case, forward all to gmail then you can access them with the gmail apps too... for synchronizing method with the pc... i'll let others answer your question. good luck.

You cant. The fon has a high resolution screen. If ur pix is taken from a high mega pixel cam, it might. In order to use ur pix in full screen as wallpaper u must edit it in a pc. Then copy it into ur fon. A trial & error job. Cheers!

I have been using the E61i for four months now. I changed the anti-virus F-Secure to Kaspersky. And after that I could not play videos in full screen mode, which got me worried. After informing Nokia, I even upgraded the OS but still same problem persisted. After expiry of Kaspersky I again installed F-Secure and I can again play videos in full screen mode.

I installed mini opera browser and use this phone mainly for browsing and checking mails. I am pleased with this phone, easy to set up mails and applications. Battery life is great, display is big, and keyboard spacing is good, so almost perfect tool for me. I never use some features like music / video player, so I have no opinion on those particular features.

I have this phone and was considering upgrading to the E71 in January, but the E71 doesn't have the push-email function where the E61i has. So thats a no no for me. Think I'm going or the BlackBerry Bold instead.

hello mate :) i guess its fine. its not that slow and its not that fast either. i would definitely recommend this phone. the e71 is a lot faster but it has a small screen compared to the e61i.

I just got this phone. I'm from indonesia and here the phone doesn't support reading/writing chinese (mandarin). So I used NSS to change the firmware code to Singapore unit, #0541679 which support English & Chinese (simplified). After all was done. It worked fine reading & writing chinese. But there's a bug/weird thing. When I write sms using chinese after I'm done and want to add recipient. now i can't write ABC to search for the name of the person. I could only enter chinese or numbers, not abc... So I have to switch the writing language back after writing chinese so i can add/search the phone numbers... It kinds of annoying if need to write several messages... Anyone has idea/tips?

Yes if you want qwerty and bigger screen + more internal memory... No if you want more speed (faster). I just upgraded from 5500 and thought that even e61i is slightly slower. Nsysinfo shows 500 as 235 while e61i as 202mhz... But I like the bigger screen, qwerty, and more internal memory.

I just changed from 5500 to e61i... e61i surprisingly is slightly slower than the 5500... But other than that the bigger screen and qwerty are welcomed along with the extra internal memory... For switching from e51 to e61i i think it would be the same case as mine but with more noticeable speed difference.

Nino, yes u can amd must install fring on ur E61i, but only if u have an unlimited usage GPRS or other connection. With fring u will be online 24 hrs and connected to almost al the IMs that u have heard of. I am loggrd into Skype, Google talk, MSN, and Yahoo al the time. and can chat with more than one person simultaneously thru fring. Only u cant talk with yahoo, but that is being sorted out.

Nokia E61i is much better because of wide screen, comfortable keypad and good design than Nokia E71i. Nokia E71i is good for higher processor 128MB RAM and Flash Lite 3 support which Nokia E61i does not have but hope Nokia will soon add Flash lite 3 in new firmware version. I am quite satisfy with Nokia E61i and wait for new firmware version with addition Flash Lite 3. My second choice is Nokia E90i

Don't understand that E61i and E65i launched together but E61i has only RAM 64MB instead of RAM 128MB and E65i has RAM 128MB. Quite illogical for full QWERTY Keyboard E61i type of device!!!

hi all E series users i have E61i and the keypad lamps turn off after 3 months , when i try to repair in NPC they told me it must be swap to jakarta for 2-3months.....its so crazy just repair keypads lamps.so i cancel to repair in NPC sby or jkt. the next month when i have traveling to singapore,i try to repair my E61i to NCC in suntec and the result is zero,they cant repiar it and it must be swap to other nokia care in singapore and need to repair about 3 weeks. its so crazy cos i should go home to sby,and the reason NCC singapore cant repair bacause nokia indonesia have different software with nokia sing software, and they charge me about sgd$20 for reject or cancel repair. i think they do nothing for my phone. so far this phone is amazing and make other people staring at my phone. maybe staring at me too, haha. you can download gmaps directly in ur fon. just type google maps in the browser. download and install it directly in ur fon. its free, but the pics is not current. its not later than 2007 or before.

unluckily, yes the e61i is a bit slower in opening just simple apps. due to its arm 9 220mhz processor. the e51, its lower brother is much faster with its arm 11 369mhz processor. wonder y? sometimes its taking a few seconds before initializing its apps. nokia has outfitted this device with a lower engine for many features. sori theirs no upgrade softs yet at nokia sites. but still love this fon.

Hi Answers to some of your questions:- Use 'Fring' from fring.com. You can even get it thru skype. Fring is a SW for mobiles only and has the capability to log into MSN, AOL, Skype, SIP, and many more, simultaneously. I am logged into MSN, Google talk, Yahoo and Skype all the time (24X7). People ask me when do I sleep. Free SW. Alternatively, u can go to the SW page of MY Mobile Page at www.tevatia.com to download Nimbuzz (free). But,personally I like fring. Only prob with fring is that it does not yet have voice call with yahoo. Will be available shortly. Its camera cannot be used as webcam thru fring or any other IM except for Nokia IM which is a part of your mobile. But not all our friends are on Nokia IM. dear nokia e61i users, basically i have been using this phone now for about 4 months, and i'm finding the applications really slow. compared to a black berry, or even the samsung business phones, the nokia seems abour 4 X slower. i'm also finding it very ocassionaly hanging, basically requiring it to re-start. new firm ware for this phone is not available from the nokia web site, and i seriously think it needs it. compared to the black berry this phone is very fustratingly slow in opening gmail, galleries, emails, and even something simple as text messages. hence i was wondering if anyone else is suffering from the same problems and whether there are any remmedies.? cheers

well thanks guys I have downloaded PC Suit latest one, Map Loader latest one, Map manager latest one map loader found phone memory and gives the list of Maps, i choose New York, and click on download, it downloads, than shows SAVING on phone memory later when i check inside application manager or even browse memory card with file manager, no map installation file there ....:( PC suit working fine with my E61i, it is taking backup, i install few application (including map loader) on phone .. works great now what should i do ... any idea ? thanks Chao :)

I like the phone very much, still after being a Treo 650 user for 3 years I miss the ability to search ANY word in the contacts list in the notes not just the name or last name. Also I also miss contacts groups say finding all lawyers, MDs or restaurants in in a different group if I want too, the E61i only supports mailgroups. Initially I missed also the ability to hide and encrypt data, later I got HandySafe (approx. 50 $USA)- The applications installed are also somewhat clumsy organised, I wish there would be an Applications Folder either on the screen or in the first pge of the Menu screen.

you can install 3rd party softwares for free. ex. mobile9.com. the phone itself doesnt need an upgrade program for now. but you can try at nokia.com. they have free softwares, ex. F-secure anti-virus, extra themes, world mate, golf pro2 etc.

basically you dont need an anti-virus if your using your fon as basic deveice (call & text). the fon itself cant be infected, but if you want to be sure. you can download it from nokia sites. F-secure and Kaspersky is the best for me so far. F-secure can be downloaded from nokia.com, with a 2 month trial version. Kaspersky is my choice, coz it has many features.

Hi, friend... I would like to share a similiar experience i had when i bought this phone... I set remote lock in security settings, sometime later to check whether the remote lock works or not i asked a friend to send me the remote lock message, yes the phone got locked. The phone later sent a message in return to the friend's phone, informing that the phone and memory card are locked. After that whenever i rebooted the phone i had problem with the memory card, which was similiar to yours... I later went to the memory card menu and saw in one of the options "remove password" i was surprised , because i never set a password.. And i dont know the password. Still after some careful thought i decided to unlock the card by entering remote lock mesage.the card was unlocked..... Till today i've had no problem with the card or its functions.......

In response to some feedback regarding 3rd party apps not working after reboot... This problem occurs when the 3rd party app is installed in MicroSD card. I found the solution by removing and reinserting the card from its slot. As soon as I reinsert all applications in card start working fine till another reboot. For a permanent cure, I uninstalled all application from card and installed all apps in Phone Memory only. Thereafter absolutely NO PROBLEM with 3rd party apps. Moreover installing apps in phone mem helps in opening those faster.

*i love my baby e61i with all my heart. when i was in college,and i have to check my e-mails for my thesis presentations this phone is a huge help because of the wi-fi connection, plus i can edit my power point presentations or any other PDF files on the phone itself. also the music is good, i can download the Lyrics of my favorite songs and read them as is while the music is playing!, its soooo FUN! haha, really. and the full screen is great, hehe :)

Hi im using this phone to post this comment and i would have to say that this is the best nokia phone that i have layed hands on. My opinion about the speaker was ok. Because i had the e65 and it was the same speaker. The only problem i had was no gps but i fixed it by downloading google maps and it works great. i saw some questons about this phone and one of them was if u can put an 8 gig sd card...i tried it but the phone kept freezing up.another queston was other than the camera is there a diference in downloading and yes theres a diference in downloading,software,accessing files are way faster,and youtube videos are more clear and dont freeze up on the e61i.another queston was if you reboot the phone and all the 3rd party aplications stop till you download them again and it does happen all the time with me. The music player i would give a 9.5 out of 10.... Its very clear loud and comes in handy. well those where some of the thoughts i have on this phone and answering questons, hope this helps and just send me a message if you need anything else.

good day to all! i had this phone about a week now. im impressed with the speed of inet browsing. but i am a bit dissapointed with the performance of quick office. if you try to load a word doc below 100kb, it will load smoothly. but when i try to load 300kb of doc, then it will take about 3 mins before the file can be loaded and viewed. anyone out there who had the same experience? i have already updated the firmware yesterday, but still the same slowness i got. i would appreciate any info regarding this. by the way, any site where to download softwares. thanks, more power to all!

Hi . . . The battery is exceptionally good . Call quality is above ordinary . The phone does not hang . Web is good too but if you are a avid surfer than load opera mini . Music player is better than walkman phones. But the camera is below average . In fact if you like to shoot pictures and video than this phone is not good . No fm radio . Also a little huge on the hand . You cant operate the phone in i single hand. Earspeaker volume is a little on the lessor side. Still the incoming call quality is very good . . .

Hi there, you may be having some bug.... DownLoad anti virus and if you dont want buy get a trail version . Or you may have set remote lock in security settings, if you have, then go to memory card menu and remove password, the password is the remote lock message that you may set to lock the phone remotedly in case of lose or theft.........

Hi everyone.. I had bought the e61i over two months ago, i have a few advice for those people who use this phone. Messages should be set in phone memory, and not in memory card.- In this case the phone does operate smoothly..... opera mini or any other java applications should be installed in phone memory-they open fast and exit faster and function smoothly- before charging, the phone should be switced off for 10 minutes and switched on again, the battery lasts longer. switch off java / ecma script , so the web works smoothly.- web settings- ............... Not sure but it should work. also some one said there is no where to know if u exit a program. but press and hold symbian key and it goes to a "task manager" where you can see whats open and switch between applications

Yes you can use ait as a thetered modem, i use gprs and it works great, easy to connect with nokia pc suite, saves my lif becasue of some of the locations i work at

The Nokia E61i is good instrutment, except when you are using it as a telephone. You need to have it in the speaker mode or ear piece hanging off of you inorder to hear. You cannot hear the person that you talking to otherwise. As a telephone it is weak!

I bought nokia E61i 2 months ago, and i have been facing problems since i bought it, the problem with this phone is It woould not give notification light always when ever you have some missed call or message or any meail you receive and the ohter problem is it would not allow me to get into check my messaging to check my text messages i receive or emails i receive. its completely useless for business purpose. i regret for buying this phone, this is the worst phone in the world i can say. I called the customer service they said they cannot do anything for it, just they advised me to go to NOKIA store and inform them. I went to NOKIA store where i bougt this phone they make me sit for 45 minutes, and they would say they rpair it, but finally when i go back home the next day i face the same porblems. I have really spent lot of money on phone and also i have wasted lot of money just roaming around the store for repair. but the problem with the phone is still same. This phone is not working properly and i can't afford one more new phone. i really don't know what to do with this phone. Please someone help me on this issue.

I have had the e61i for around a year now. At first it was great - but it has slowly become the worst phone on the planet. First of all - the thing just gets sloooow. And for no good reason. Sometimes it takes up to 20 seconds for my text messaging screen to appear. Other times, the phone just becomes unresponsive. It simply lacks computing power. It also has some design flaws. Your phone will be set to silent - yet the low battery indicator makes an audible noise. No matter that you are in a meeting, Nokia doesn't care. According to them, you NEED to know your battery is about to die. And what better way to tell you than with a battery killing audible beep. Thanks Nokia. Also - it is way to easy to turn off the phone when switching it to silent. It's hard to explain - but you will see. There is also no way to know if a program has been closed. Honestly, just thinking about how many times this phone has screwed up makes me lose my cool. Do not buy this hunk of junk.

Bought one two weeks back. And havent stopped playing with it yet. Fantastic phone. Since I have unlimited usage gprs plan, I am 24X7 on FRING. What a combination. Battery life is superb but while on gprs the life drops like a stone. Still better than most other phones.

only complaint i have about this phone is that when you turn it off (while you sleep or something) and then turn it back on it takes about half an hour until you receive messages that were sent to you while your phone was off. every other phone i used before receives messages two minutes after you turn it on. i dont know if anyone else has this problem. besides that i would rate it 10/10

This is teh best in class of smartphones better than "BLACKBERRY". It has got all the features and also comes cheap , but dont know why NOKIA gave integrated GPS a miss for this phone. I have one and am more than satisfied :-)

yes you can use other browser, get opra mini. as for yahoo messenger get "fring" which can incorporate msn messenger, yahoo messenger, AIM, skype, and icq. you can open and edit excel and word etc with the free quickoffice it comes with. you can upgrade the quick office (have to pay for it)to a version with more functions. i've had phone for 2 weeks now and it's still great. battery life at least 2 days and that's with abusing gprs and wi fi. i would assume wifi sucks less battery than gprs.

This is possibly the worst phone I have ever used. The number of keystrokes needed to get around the menu is ridiculous. After a BlackBerry it is pre-historic and if my IT department had not forced it on me (for cost reasons) it would have been in the bin by now. Slow, cumbersome, difficult to use - avoid if you can

if ur a guy who looks for office aps. then this's the phone for you. full qwerty keyboard. no hastle in texting. u can take notes quickly & easly in the note pad. the exel is good, but not all functions from a pc is usable (thats wat the manual says), but the formulas still works. 2003 powerpoint from a pc download will not work. u need to make them directly into ur phone. u can also browse ur pdf files or email them directly to ur phone.

@Raul E71 is far better than E61i (specs i mean). Processor 369 Mhz vs 220 Mhz is 70% more processing speed + double RAM memory. That means A LOT faster. HSDPA 3.6 Mbs vs 3G 384 kbs - A LOT quicker on internet. MicroSDHC Cards of 8 GB or more (not sure if E61i supports more than 2 GB). A-GPS. Camera with autofocus, 3.2 MP and flash vs 2 MP with nothing. Video at 640x480x22 fps vs CIF (176x...). Radio. Even the battery seems to last longer - at least in the specs. A LOT smaller. I think will sell like fresh bread at 350-400 euro. Can't compare with Xperia which will be far more expensive or iPhone 3G which will be even more expensive (dont let yourself be fooled by the $199 price ... that is with a $1500 contract for 2 years, which most of the users dont need). Maybe HTC will be a serious competitor, but HTC is not a visible/trusted enough brand (even if I heard they are good). The only downside seems to be the screen, which is smaller, but the resolution is the same so I have no problem with that considering that the phone shrinked a lot and is not a huge brick any more. If you ask me, E71 is still too big for me and I'll probably go for the E66 as I can get along fine without QWERTY.

Dear All, I owned this device for 1 year already and also my brother in law, we're using the same device with different colors only. This device is really good anyway. Such as good and positive at: 1) Battery life (for standing by you can get minimum 3 days). For heavy user, me myself I usually get 2 days, 3 the maximum and recharge it to make sure the battery still available anywhere I go. For the battery price itself of course it is more expensive than the regular phone (non business type). This phone use the BP-4L type, similar to the one in E-90 communicator. So if you're trying to find a replacement dont expect a down to earth price. 2) The memory is definitely hot sway and from my personal experience is the largest transflash I ever used is the 2 GB capacity and yes everything works well except if the memory card's too full then sometimes you have to wait a bit for each and every application you're trying to open. But I think majorly for every phone this is still the same problem. It's just like unwritten rules that for the memory card itself you better not use it overloaded, which means if you want to have longer life and reasonable speed its better for you to spend around 20% of the capacity to make it work well, so if you use 256 MB disc size you can spend 200 MB of them and leave some space for a longer life for your memory card. 3) 3G, I think what's missing is second front camera which is really helpful if you're a heavy user on video call with other because you have to turn back your phone to the other side in order to see your opponent but this way you cannot see your opponent and when you want to see your opponent, they have to see blank display or whatever else around you by that time. 4) SMS are responsive in a normal way with your adequate provider and also its better if you download files (supportive one) from Nokia website such as SMS_Accelerator (yes, this is helpful and handy), and as my experience with this device is Nokia also providing you with the latest firmware they possibly have, like mine one, last week on June 2008 I upgraded my firmware with data-cable and now from the 2nd version now it become the 3.0633.69.00 and I've dont this upgrading formware twice myself with the same device, there's no problem, everything just run smooth (I am using cable speed). It might take 30-40 minutes and just follow the instructions in Nokia's website. 5) Charging, battery charging for this phone is normal (3-4 hours), normal remembering that this phone battery life also long last but yes I admit the charger with the small connector plug (to your phone) is trouble. Again, I am buying the official phone from Nokia Center and the charger broke down in the 8th month, yet I bought another same charger and everything fixed already. My community also facing this same problem with this charger type, with me myself we I've heard 4 case of this Nokia charger type alredy. 6) Handsfree and bluetooth, when I bought this device I do get handsfree cable within the package, they were fine, for my driving day I also paired this device with a COREGA brand bluetooth and everything works just fine, I also ever try to paired it with QOOL brand and also Logitech, just run smooth, nothing to worry about it. 7) Yes, it is slim, yes it is un-heavy but yes for those whose interested to change their phone housing/body casing you'll be bored since Nokia provide only 2 colors of the housing: mocca and black with also expensive price, you can check at your local dealer, for the non-original version one, you can find them but yet it's not east at all for this Nokia type. 8) Media, for the media player, the sound is you can say if the grading works from 1-10 my personal opinion would grade them 7-8.5. I cannot say that it's prefect but yes it's quite good really, it can read MP3,AAC,WAV and you have 5 options on equalizer: bass booster, classical, jazz, pop and rock. It's really enough anyway this is a business phone, not an I-Phone or Walkman series. The RealPlayer works really fine also. What I think is missing is the radio (we cannot listen to a radio through this device because it has none). The photo is 2 Mpix and the quality is around 8. This phone camera's still not a pro one (what I meant is we cannot take un-still photos or moving objects) and the object will surely move. 10) Connectivity is fine, I use to paired this with a bluetooth, nor in laptop or handsfree or other phone cell, Infrared works well, I only use to pair with laptop and PC, Wireless Fidelity works also well but really depends on your available channel and this really matter. Overall, I am happy with more than 1 year of this phone, for information I am a cell phone heavy user for sms and also calls. Before this E61i my previous phone was SE P990, SE P910i, SE P900i, O2 X Phone 2, Sewon, and lots of other brand. My last P990 was sold because after almost used for 1 year I find problem with it, really slow, the camera often freeze and it says you can put up to 4 GB of memory stick duo but in fact I have to let go my 1 GB memory stick and use the 256 MB from San Disk in order to help that device works faster with my phone memory condition were still free more 60 MB and the used memory was around 30 MB (on phone). Before I sell that phone I already try to improve the performance first by upgrading my firmware but doesnt help. The battery life was good, the design was good also, but I experienced also the phone won't charge several times I have to plug and un-plug the charger but there's no problem at all for the charger and data-cable. For the support on the web they're almost the same, they have certain software updates and also guidance on how to this and that. Hope this independent review helps all user.
