  • This phone is not really worth it for the price. You can get much better phone with that kind of price, even Xiaomi is better. Oppo F5 barely gets any kind of update now, only update once every 3 or 4 month (only security patch, no any exciting ColorOS update). Mediatek chipset is so bad that it will hang after you open an app or switch in between application. The camera is ok, not very spectacular due to the price. ColorOS is also very bad, it's the worst looking UI you could ever get.

  • Camera is great, and having a earphone jack plus FM radio is a bonus... Battery life so so, sometimes it drains and other times it held up well... Playing games can be a headache, despite the whatever claimed 'powerful' MediaTek chipset, anything with 'heavy' framerate/graphics will result in lag, hang or auto exit... No excuse since an old SnapDragon 400 series can execute similar game with minimal disruption and lesser RAM... My warranty is ending soon, not sure if I should send it in cause my set actually has a dead pixel or two on the screen from day one which is disturbing on white background, but I didn't send it for warranty repair/exchange cause I don't want the phone to get messed up for a small defect or getting a refurbished set as replacement... Also, looking for a new phone end of this year, not sure if I should stick to Oppo or move over to Huawei... Cause Huawei updates their Android software, not only the high end model but also their mid and low range, my siblings used various Huawei Nova series and they're now at Android 9.0 up from 7.0 initially... I also don't want a glass back, the reason why I chose the F5 apart from other models and other brands was this...

  • Dude service person should have helped you, anyway if you still have the phone here it's simple solution to your problem, swipe up your from bottom, you'll see power saver option in setting, just switch it off while your in direct sunlight, sunlight visibility of your mobile screen will become high. Hope this helps.

  • Mine is Oppo A83, the carbon copy of Oppo F5. To avoid lag: 1. Remove vpn applications. Don't just turn off, uninstall it. 2. Play in a normal to cold temperature room. Avoid hot places like direct sunlight or rooms without ventilation. 3. Close all remaining apps before playing to free memory. 4. Stop app processes that are running in the background. 5. Do not play on intermittent wifi. 6. Do not play on intermittent cellular data. With MT6763T Helio P23 2.5 GHz CPU and Mali-G71 MP2 GPU, I don't think it struggles on hardware. I play on high settings with high frame rate enabled. I strictly followed my suggestions and its running smooth.

  • Maybe your phone is on power saving mode. Try to turn it off then the screen brightness will increase.

When you take this phone in sunlight always keep a torch handy so that phone screen will be visible for you or else you can't see the screen only.   • Yeah, it has only Powerdown option. In case it doesn't work and you need to hard reset it, press and hold the screen lock and volume up button for about 10 secs. It will restart the phone as far as I remember.

  • Try to disable power saving mode. I did it before and now the brightness is same as other android phones. Just open the control center (swipe up from the bottom of screen where you turn on/off wifi, etc.) then swipe the rounded buttons to left then you will see a battery icon. Turn it off. Or just go to settings then find battery manager, turn power saving mode off.

  • Is there any Oppo F5 out there that was manufactured as a single SIM instead of dual? I recently bought this device, and I think it has more of the good things going on comapred to the bad ones. The camera is indeed a wonder, try it in broad daylight for the best outcome. Most if it's hardware features are great, but my main problem is in the software. My SiM slot 2 doesn't work at all, it shows a network icon but with no network reception, it has been like this ever since I bought this phone. And it's funny because out of the box, the phone had a single SIM tray, but the vendor selling it for me said it's dual SIM capable and that I only needed to replace the single sim tray with a double sim tray. After doing that, the phone rebooted and asked for SIM 1 PIN and simply unlocked. It didn't ask for sim2 PIN yet it was inside too!!! Anyone with a similar situation please intervene. Thanks.

  • Just FYI I take a lot of photos and the Oppo F5 camera (both front and back) is among the best I have seen from a mid range phone. Though lacking bokeh etc. the images are easily comparable to Galaxy A8 2018 and C9 Pro. Though Sony XA1 series is better IMHO.

  • I have both Samsung Galaxy J7+ (Asia edition with dual Camera Front and Back, RAM 4 GB, Internal 32 Gb) and OPPO F5 4 GB/32/GB. My suggestion for you, DON'T BUY OPPO F5, because the front camera is sucks, it's below anyone's expectation, which is very bad in term of DEPTH and blur if your hand is shaky (stabilizer is sucks). On the other hands, I like Samsung J7+ MORE because it captures more originality, and the dual camera front and back can assure the pictures taken has enough DEPTH and looks more naturally. OPPO F5 results un-vivid and un-bold pictures.

  • iPhone 6 and Oppo F5 are two different thing one is Android and other is iOS totally different User interfaces experience. Android gives you freedom for everything when comes out the box like bluetooth sharing, direct movies downloading, torrent download expandable memory(mostly have)and many more. while Apple is limited in every aspect compare to Android you need downloader to download movies direct songs can't be downloaded bluetooth sharing is big pain in Apple devices. iPhone 6 have less battery compare to oppo f5 and screen is quite good with OPPO F5. I would recommend you to buy Oppo f5 instead of iphone.

  • After 1 week of use i got a replacement because they told that the unit ive got was defective . But after 1 month of use of my new replaced oppo f5 did the same issue my screen it shows multiple black box whenever i swipe up the control center ( the toggle at the buttom ) which is the same issue of my first replaced phone. Even battery is awesome coming from a previous iphone 7 user. I tried to go mid range path and save the money i will get from selling my iphone 7 and when i was checking i was torn between huawei mate 10 lite (nova 2i in some markets) oppo f5 sony xa1 plus and note fe but end up with oppo f5 which i couldn't be more happier because i saved a lot of money and the experience is still similar to my beloved iOS system due to the colour os similarity to iOS and got great battery life and nice design. By the way, I got the red version because it is as cool as apple product red. The device doesn't lag though when playing graphic intensive game it kinda heats up at the top part of the device. And yes oppo f5 can play high graphic games since the gpu is also the gpu used by the expensive note 8

Oppo pales in comparison the the mid-range tier phones from Huawei, such as the Mate 10 Lite or Honor 7x, Xiaomi with the Redmi lineup, and also from Samsung with the J and A lineups. I have used phones from these brands and Oppo offered the worst experience by far, acceptable at first but deteriorated into something unusable in a short time.

  • Well battery of this phone is just 3200mAh, whole ut has 6inch full hd screen so it was supposed to use more battery than any 5.5inch screen. Moreover but it does have fast chatting, ut charges my phone from 2 to 98% in just 80 mins. Even if I'm harry I'll charges my phone for 30 mins it'll rasik go 45 to 50% higher than previous charges, That's more than what i expected.

Now they've FINALLY caught up to "new" technology and all their phones from here on out will have amoled screens. Same with LG. They have said repeatedly how "natural colors" (washed out) look better, until recently - they only now have amoled capabilities so ALL of their flagships will have amoled screens from here on out (V30 for example). The ONLY reason all new televisions aren't YET amoled is because it's STILL too new and expensive to have amoleds of such a large size for them to be mainstream YET. Amoled devices offer options for more "natural" (ugly) color profiles for people stuck in the 90's, whereas on LCD screens no possibility exists for bright, vivid, well-saturated screens. Blacks look grey and whites look blue. Crap. Apple's screen on the X is the first color-perfected screen on any device EVER and it's amoled. Its colors are 100% accurate and nobody can argue that fact. Basically every high-end flagship device out right now with any respect has an amoled screen. To not include one is like having a giant bezel in 2017 and your company is immediately crap.

Never have any issue regarding apps update. Even developer still support KitKat. And i think lollipop will be support for at least 2 more years.   • Well I can tell both pro and come. Pro: best part is camera both front and rear. Front one has portrait (bokeh) mode. Screen is really bright, I liked it. Even if not mentioned it does have fast charging, 4 to 98% in just 90mins. Face lock us there but I feel it's more like gimmick. CONS: Color OS, it's just copy of iOS, I really hate, you cannot install other launcher, can't install widgets, can't use keypads for typing if u wanna use local language (TAMIL for me), Processor isn't worth for the price, it should've been snapdragon as current processor isn't efficeint for battery, also being 3200mAh battery it'll last only 1day or less if u play games. 18:9screen though looks nice but all apps still not optimised for such screen so u can see blank space both above and below it. Notification led is just white color one. Well if u ask me am I happy with this Phone? My previous phone was Xiaomi MI3, it was totally working fine even after 3years till I dropped it and got damaged. I don't think I'll use this Oppo F5, for this long mostly due to color OS, rest of things can be manageable. So make a wise

  • I purchase yesterday evening as a gift to my wife. While I m using s8. Really even more better from s8. It's processor is very fast. No need to hold the camera 4 perfect snapshot .very quick and fastest. Kids throw from 8 feet height to marble surface ND didn't a single minute scratch on it. It's front Cam is excellent. I captured a couple of minutes snapshot and watch at 55 inches led. U couldn't believe it's pixel quality remains same as it on phone.

  • Well I did saw the video, and it's not his honest review, he seems to be hating of mediatek processor but keep in mind the processor used in Oppo f5 is hello p23 made on 16nm technology which he did not mention in his review, even the processor used by Samsung in galaxy j7max and On Max is inferior to this processor. So I'll say technical guruji's review is not honest one and don't go by blindly to what he says.

  • I was not aware of this before buying this phone, I really hate this color is, you cannot install other launcher, you can't install any widgets, even changing background wallpaper is really tough, it all has issues with batteries, many of apps still not optimised for such full screen, as mentioned in many advertisements of this phone is best thing is 📷 camera, rest is just OK.

You should know that it's not much of a gaming phone and all that. However construction wise it's got a nice near bezeless screen ratio. Note - redmi note 4 is a performance based phone but it's camera isn't doing much. Solved!

  • i owned an oppo F1s and an oppo F3plus. But this F5, so far is the most overrated phone! Oppo's operating system, the ColorOS is annoying especially its Security app which sometimes pop ups a notification and there's no way to disable it. So is the system update which downloads updates automatically and in the case of F5 phone, the notification remains till you update the system. What an annoying OS.
