You are asking question from 2 years ago. Real story is like that, before there is OPPO forum, the ROM is downloaded from there. Then, just download the zip file into the phone internal memory or micro sd card, then go to Setting>General>About Phone, then press the "System Update" button, then at that page, top right there is an icon, tap on that icon and choose "Local Update", it will search the update zip file. I still have that update zip file with me if you really want to update your phone. The ColorOS 2.1.5i will update phone into Android 5.0. I have upgraded for more than 3 years ago, and it works until today. Maybe I have to use Google Drive for this update to be uploaded for download.

all seems well to me except for the overheating issue if you are a heavy user. i only have one problem with this phone, although all it takes is just a few extra steps instead of just a push of a button away which is using the phones personal hotspot. unlike other phones, once you have enabled the phones personal hotspot, other devices is able to detect it but for this phone we have to use bluetooth tethering. i have used oppo neo 5s, all it takes is just enable personal hotspot and thats it.

This is, I would say, the last good OPPO phone. Well, the OPPO N3 maybe is the contender, but this one at least officially upgraded to Android 5.0, and it is the only one to feature 2K screen. However, due to the old Snapdragon 801 SoC, this one consistently overheat if playing heavy game, or using extensively. Otherwise, a good phone of it's generation literally.

Your phone battery has probably gone into deep discharge mode(search google). You will need to give your battery a boost charge, that would revive your battery. A normal charger cannot charge your battery from this state. Also remember, once battery goes into deep discharge it causes a great damage, and in any situation you get back your battery into life again, it will never run to its full capacity. Next time, when you are not using your phone, do remove the battery after giving it a full charge. Thanks!

I've had this phone since it launched. Got rid of the stock ROM less than an year after purchase and have been using Cyanogen/LineageOS and it's been running beautifully! The device has endured quite a few hard impacts and besides the corners losing shape a bit there has been no damage to the screen. I've never used a case or cover either, it's certainly a soldier. There's problems though, especially if you kept the garbage stock ROM(Color OS). Battery life can be an issue if you're a heavy user, even though it charges up real fast. Had it die on me 3 or 4 times in 4 years. Using a custom ROM might help in this by reducing background tasks and bloaty UI. Heat is also an issue as pointed out by someone else already. My battery has swelled a bit due to heat because of which the back cover frequently comes off exposing the battery. Also, if you stick to the stock ROM then you'll probably be stuck with a really old version of Android. TL;DR: If you plan on buying this for whatever reason you might have(it's a 4 year old phone, wouldn't recommend it obviously), make sure to learn how to install a custom ROM and recovery. This was my first Android phone(previously owned a Nokia n900), and it has certainly been an unforgettable experience(that's what everybody says until they eventually forget about it) but I think it's time to part ways now. I'll keep it for experimenting and backup.

This is one of the best phone at it's time, but sadly, it faded away, now I'm going to talk on it's bad stuff. 1. No official Android OS update beyond Android 5.0, kinda bad for a branded phone, which really not a very good investment. Many newer apps cannot be installed due to only Android 5.0. 2. Battery life is pathetic despite having VOOC quick charger, can't going through half day on moderate usage, even I have changed a new battery. 3. Overheating is killing this phone. It can go very hot while just web browsing, simple chatting, FB and camera capture. Gaming totally get into super hot up to 50 Celsius. 4. Because of overheating/overloading, the phone will freeze, then restart itself, kind of annoying if in the middle of something. The good stuff are ok, fast charging, 2K screen, camera, removable battery, micro sd slot. Now I use Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon as my main driver. This, I keep as secondary phone. Plan to install custom rom if want to longer it's usage.

This phone is good(but kinda boring)..unfortunately,my Find 7 fell from knee height by my little brother and now the capacitive back,home and options buttons cant be used anymore..so i think it is not a very durable phone..gaming and video capturing gets really hot and the phone lags when it is hot..the front camera is not so sharp too for a 5mp shooter..thats what i think..

Again, for update to Android 5.0 or ColorOS v2.1.5i, you need to manually update it. Hit the update at "System Update" won't update your phone. Download the zip file from OPPO official forum. Follow instruction at the forum to upgrade. But beware, you must backup all you stuff before upgrade as this update will wipe all data in your phone. It is a fresh install for Android 5.0. The same apply for Project Spectrum which is based on Android 5.1.1. Sadly, Find 7 won't receive Android 6.0 updates.

Go to OPPO official forum, look for ColorOS 2.1.5i for Find 7. Download that rom, in zip file, then copy that zip file to your phone. Tap on that zip file, and you will asked to flash for rom. Or go to Setting General Tab>About Phone>Tap System Update, the update rom will be detected. Before update, please backup all your stuff out of the phone as this Kitkat to Lollipop update will wipe everything on the phone, you can use the ColorOS build in backup apps for doing the backup.

You can combine the storage in the storage option to use all full 32GB storage instead of 3GB by default, ask the shop people to do this for you or you do it yourself. But this will factory reset your phone, so please make sure back up all your stuff before proceed. You can also upgrade your phone OS to Android 5.0 or Color OS V2.1.5i, this will also auto "combine" storage by default. You only have to perform this for once. Someone still say HTC M8 is better? It is actually comparable to HTC M8. But both phone are perfectly usable. I choose Find 7 for it's bigger display, removable battery, and it's much cheaper price. Then, this Find 7 has fast charging, and it works till today. I buy 2 other original spare battery for my heavy usage, and the battery is half price of Samsung's one. From some one who actually using this phone for 2 years.

But, after using this oppo find7 i refuse to flash any custom rom on it. Because, the feature of the stock rom is so great. Why are you all arguing? If something wrong with your device, send it for repair. I sent once because motherboard had problems. Cause hangs, reboots and errors. After that, everything is fine. No hangs, reboots or other problems. Juz hp quite hot when u play games which is normal. Last me for 4 days with 4g lte and without wifi.

Used this phone for 5 month, on Android 5.0 ColorOS 2.1.5, no problem so far. No lag, no hang, no auto restart. Only problem is the GPS, need stable network connection to work correctly. Then, battery life is among the worse compare to other brand, power bank is needed for long hour use. But with it's price at one time that is even cheaper than the Oneplus One, no much can complain.

You can use 2 different operating systems on this phone. ColourOS 2.1.5i based on Andriod 5.0 Project Spectrum V1.1 based on Andriod 5.1.1 The only differences the 2, is that ColourOS is a skin on top of Andriod whereas Project Spectrum is stock Andriod, with some minor tweaks and enhancements like Cyanogenmod such as bringing over the Camera and Photos app from ColourOS as well as the audio drivers. Project Spectrum will be updated to 6.0 Marshmallow sometime in 2016.

If you use intensively, it's normal. It's because of the 2K display. That's why Oppo provides the V00C charger. Try updating to ColorOs 2.1.5i, android 5.0.2....better battery life

Been using it since lollipop update.......on ColorOs 2.1.5i (Android 5.0.2) , not 4.3, AND yes you can update. Marshmallow is coming next year between January and february. Pros : Display is crisp, the stereo speakers under the 1 speaker grill is awesome and loudest I ever heard on a smartphone, just under htc's boomsound, and camera is great but certainly not for those expert photographers. Cons : Battery is terrible for 2K display IF you are gaming and watching movies a lot. If you are just with sms and texting, it's fine. Last me for 30 hours with light gaming and watching a few videos. If on standby, will last 3 or 4 days.

Hi All, I bought new battery for my oppo find 7 x9006 in the month of August 2015. Since last month this battery is not giving back-up... if it charged 100% and kept without using within 7 hours it is coming down to 25%... It was same problem with old battery... How much we charge also it used to show 40% and auto shutoff. I was advised by opposite call centerto buy new battery. After doing the same I have this problem.

My oppo find 7a not even reach a year but now it started to have problem 1.turn off itself then I couldn't turn it on. I have to remove the battery and put it back again 2. Few days ago my OPPO R831 would not turn on anymore for some reasons. I bought my phone last day of December 2014 so my phone is still under 1 year warranty.I tried to use my warranty to have OPPO service center repaired it but much to my dismay the oppo service center texted me informing me that my phone could not be fixed anymore and that if I had it repaired then I had to pay 3000 pesos to replace my OPPO motherboard. Service center diagnosed it as motherboard problem and they added that they found corrosion and liquid inside my phone so my warranty service voided. I COULD NOT BELIEVE THEIR DIAGNOSEd about liquid trace inside and corrosion because if there was liquid inside then my phone for sure would no longer show charging indicator upon charging. Plus motherboard problem???? Say what????. My phone problem was Not switching on but showed charging indicator... problem was all about switching it on.... SO WHAT I did was I got my phone from service center and had it checked/ repaired by private repair service center. And MUCH TO MY DELIGHT ,they got my phone turned on after less than 30 minutes . I only paid them 700 pesos compared to 3000 peso motherboard. The private repair man informed me that the problem was just all about fixing switch on button and no motherboard. I was really disappointed with OPPO service center because they did don't know how to fix my phone for simple problem. Replacing my phone motherboard is too much resolution for that said problem and inappropriate. The warranty that I was counting on when I bought OPPO became useless.

By default, Oppo Color OS limit the apps installation of just 3GB space in the phone. To solve this, find something like "Switch Partition" that extend the apps installation memory to use the whole phone memory. In this mode, apps also can be moved to Micro SD card. Ask Oppo seller to do this for you before any installation or setup, because "switch partition" will wipe out all data in the phone, and the phone is going through factory reset. Make sure data has been backup before doing so.

Processor,screen, OS them self is not designed to save battery, but just enforce on performance. I know power bank is not a very convenient solution, but it is a common way of re-juice the battery, all iPhone user, and those user with non-removable battery are doing so. Had this phone for 3 months now after moving on from the Note 2. It is fast intuitive, and a pleasure to hold. The fast charger is brilliant, though the battery life isn't brilliant I do get a day and a half with normal usage. I comes with a partition which is a pain, and there's no OTA updates in the UK. Pop over to the Oppo forum and download the 4.4 update and all is good. Don't go for the beta's though as they are glitchy. The camera takes some getting used to but is absolutely fantastic. Headphone music is great and handles 24 bit with ease, not surprising since OPPO make some of the best headphone around. The speaker seems loud enough but I'm not one who wishes to embarrass myself in public. The screen is a little dim in auto settings but can be tweaked. Th UI takes a bit of getting used to but there are a huge range of tweaks available OTA from OPPO, some dreadful and a couple surprisingly good. At 289 Euros from the OPPO store with accessories, a real bargain.

I've had this phone for a while it is all around pretty good, the one problem I have with it is it no longer having an app drawer on color os but you can just flash the rom with another or get an app like app swap (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=n­et.ebt.appswitch&hl=en) which is what I did. But if you are on the edge on this phone I would say just go for it.

I have bought this phone through Flipkart in November 2014 and it works flawlessly. Good camera, good screen resolution, sound and an excellent phone for playing games from Need for Speed to Terminator Salvation, anything hard gaming can work. I love it! I managed to root it by software and not flashing through Xda (I did try to tell those bunch of nerds that it is possible, but who cares if they don't listen!) it is a beautiful piece of gadgetry. I have upgraded to Color OS 2.08i and works seamlessly with all apps....Wow.

Then next problem is its screen, im playing coc so its important that every part of the screen is working. But sadly, the upper middle part isnt functioning anymore. I have the find7 for more than 6 months and it worked fine till three days ago when it could't be charged using the vooc charger. One day it was ok, the next day it wont respond to the charging. I brought it to the service centre n the polymer battery was replaced. The problem still persist after one day. Anyone else has this problem?

I use it to charge other phones. It's OK, just drops to 1A output. The charger will also drop to lower current if phone or charger is hot, or is in a hot environment, to prevent fire hazard. So far none of the phones (Zenfone 2&5, Note 4, Xperia Z3) have been damaged by the charger. Same goes the other way around - Oppo can be charged by other chargers, it's just dog slow.

For me , I choose oppo because of the good spec they offer but I was dissapointed with it after only 1 week. My oppo have been heating up frequently and sometimes a bit lagging. I still can bare with it because it happens in my old phone. But what finally drew the last straw is the fragility of the phone. I always put my phone in the small pouch inside my handbag. And yesterday when I come back home, I found out the screen on my phone is crack. I was so shock an try to recall what did I do and I remember when I ask my friend to pass me my bag, she did put down my bag on the table a bit harder. And that's the only thing I think can think of that cause the most impact. I was so sad and disappointed with oppo because the screen crack just because of this small impact even though its protected with a casing and a curve hd tempered glass. Its so different from what they advertised with their guerilla glass which my colleagues was so excited with and keep asking me whether is oppo good or not.And I ask them to give me at least a month to try it out and tell them how it is. But now I think I am going to warn them off oppo as seeing how fragile they are. For now, I am going to hold on warning them off first since I am going to take the phone to the service center and see how it goes.

Had this for 3 months now and I've been using it on UK Vodafone. Currently, the handset is on Color OS v2.0.0i (Android 4.4.2) and it's very fast and very stable. The only thing I've done is changed the default launcher to Nova. Really like the handset. Speed is fantastic, call quality excellent and data reliable. Well worth the money, would definitely recommend this to anyone after a new phone.

I experienced oppo find 7 for almost 5 months. What I have to say is Pro : 1. Fast processor 2. Wide angle display (2k screen) 3. Fast charging Con : 1. Fast drained battery 2. Always have problem with battery and overheat 3. Not compatible with all apps (2k screen) 4. Touch screen way too sensitive. Make it hard to use. 5. Ugly user interface I went to the service centre last month because of the motherboard issue. It's burned. I saw a lot of customer send their phone due to that issue and also battery. I think this is not a good phone for me since it lack of durability. I hate to visit the service centre and waste my time.haha... And the price not cheap too.

Oppo Blu-ray is from China, there is a USA division and a Europe division that distributes them to the re-sellers. I know this because my mate works for Oppo Europe. The phone division is run separate to them but is still from the same company in China. The Oppo phones are good quality phones and are made by Oppo for other companies too. its actually $600 for the find 7, 500 for 7a and a minimum of 300 for the OPO. but at least you can buy the find 7 and find 7a. and the reasons for the price differences are to do with marketing research and additional features and so on. the OPO doesn't have a removable battery with thermal protective technology to prevent it overheating with a VOOC charger. it doesn't have a QHD screen it doesn't have additional software features (someone has to be paid to develop those feature such as 50mp photo feature) the OPO is also not made of premium material consisting of metal alloys. and the find 7 has all the feature i mentioned that the OPO doesn't plus the find 7 has expandable storage. i like the OPO and a big fan of cyanogen but what is the point of saying the OPO is so much cheaper if you cant buy it. it just rules out the argument you were stating in the first place. and it doesn't help that oppo and OPO are sister companies. they aren't trying to compete with each other. even if they theoretically are. sorry if this came across fierce in any way. but i believe my argument is valid. and hope that you can see why this is what i think this

Some people consider these phones being gaming consoles and run 3D games on them, which of course flatten the battery in no time, no matter what you're using. In my case I get both 7 and 7a lasting over a day on average, with 7a comfortably running for 2 days with double digit percentage to spare. But obviously I don't play games on it. One side note though - it's 35C or so outside here, and when phone is in a silicon case and you're doing a 4K video recording, the case does get hot. I would recommend anyone attempting 4k video recording to take it out of the case completely or use one that can disperse heat. Soft cases generally cannot, and cook the phone. Unlike Sony Z2 which lasts 5-10 minutes before putting the heat warning on the screen and refusing to use camera any longer, Find 7 did go on for much longer time without complaints, but it did get hot to the point it was very uncomfortable to hold. However - that is expected. And I don't know any phone (or even a proper camera) that doesn't heat up in 4k recording. That was side note, the main note is supposed to be that in 4k video recording mode the battery life also isn't going to be spectacular. But you could still get away with several hours of recording before it exhales.

Metering on LG is better, overall pic quality of Oppo beats LG anytime. 13 MP mode is very good in decent light, the 50 MP mode is somewhat grainy but still squeezes out a lot more details than 20.7 MP Sony Z2. Battery life is the weakest point of Find 7. Your G3 lasts nearly twice as long as Find 7 would. So you'll get somewhat snappier interface and better camera in good lighting and lose some battery life. The display speed and quality of this phone is good. however, phone does not give performance as per its specification of 3 gb ram, it is quite slow as compare to LG G ro 2 which has 2 gb of ram, I am facing another problem i.e. double tap of home screen does not work every time you require multiple tab to lock the screen. 50 MP shoot camera is not as good as it is being show case by oppo.

Well I am completely disagree with you, I have been using this phone since 20 days now and my battery backup is lasting more than 20 hours even using 3G and Wifi, if I go for extensive use still it is giving me minimum 9-12 hours back every time from the last charge. I don't know why this is with you. It's pretty beautiful and high ended spec smartphone .. more over there is always a gap when you choose between battery back up or screen size and pixel density... you have too choose what you want on priority basis... why dont you just put phone's brightness on lowest side and let the phone get switched off after complete battery drain and then do fully recharge at least 3 times repeating the same step I m sure you will get the best battery backup...

Get your point. That's Oppo's biggest problem, brand recognition. But they didn't seem to have a problem destroying the DVD and Bluray player markets with their products, which easily defeated the entire front of the big guys. They did the same in top end headphones space. Just one product, for which competitors said was impossible to be made, seriously disrupted top-end market. Maybe Oppo isn't a big player in mobile arena. Yet. But despite being a Chinese brand, they have taken on the market leaders not by quantity, but by performance and quality, and so far, they have been very successful. Not everyone is willing to pay 1500$ for a Bluray player either, yet they are constantly in short supply, which shows that they actually can sell for 10x the price of Samsung, Sony, LG, Panasonic, Pioneer,� And 3x the price of Denon, Yamaha, Harman Kardon, Marantz, Onkyo� And people still grab them up. Their 2000$ headphones also don't fit everyone's budget, but the fact that they unseated 4x more expensive ones as the best cans ever made with their first headphones ever gives you something to think about. Oppo is not a household name and due to their niche approach might never be. But the thinking that goes into their products is complete opposite from what you would expect from a Chinese brand. Usually it is a yardstick for the others to try and match.

It is in quotes as it's meant that it's been there for a much longer time, with Samsung being in the business longer than Oppo. Stability and crapware wise - Touchwiz is rubbish. That said, Oppo has some different way of managing the apps and widgets, which are very different from others, and it takes some getting used to for those that used other brands before. But yes, I should have put it inside 4 quotes instead of just double quotes...

I bought Find 7A as a gift for my wife which at that time considering Samsung S5 as well iPhone 5S. At first I doubt that it is on the same level of processing as well camera quality result. Finally the seller @ the shop do a selphi using all 3 phone as find 7A is amazing. Than the next question came out... Hows the performance of the phone and again is amazing the phone is very responsive and I have no complaint. In comparison to the price... well why I would change my wife 7A to Samsung S5 and or iPhone 5S with only USD 500 I get on equal level by par with those flagship phone but yet it is by far almost half of the price. So, it is a job well done to Oppo and I will not hesitate change my HTC one M7 into Find 7A next month following my wife!

That's a hard question to answer. Both have pros and cons. Having both in front of me now, I would say this way: Samsung S5 has slightly better camera resolution, which can in some situations resolve more details. But Oppo Find7 has better image processing (in my opinion) and produces better end result. S5 is waterproof (to a point), Find7 isn't. The battery on S5 lasts considerably longer than on Find7, but Find7 has a sharper screen, and about the same colourful as the S5 (regardless what Samsung advertises for their SuperAMOLED). Both are very smooth, maybe S5 OS is more "mature" than Find7, but at the same time, Oppo has put in many of the same functionality, while it does not flood you with the crapware that Samsung sticks in and can't be removed. Oppo also sends out the updates far more often than Samsung, so if there's an issue, chances are better on Find7 that it would get fixed than on S5, where you'd be lucky with one update per year. When it comes to apps compatibility, both run the same. I haven't seen any difference. So biggest grudge is over battery life. If that bothers you, then you may wish to consider Find 7a, with same great build quality and near identical performance, just 2 vs. 3 GB RAM, 16 vs 32 GB space (but same up to 128 GB microSD expansion to overcome that), and theoretically marginally slower CPU. But several times longer battery life, and a quarter lower price tag.

In my opinion camera quality is very good. Build quality is also marvellous. The ColorOS is � I don't know, maybe because I am used to ZenUI, HTC Sense or Samsung's crap I don't find it very intuitive, but the gestures, of being able to draw something on the screen (even when turned off) to go directly to that app is great. Battery is � not the best. I mean, with so power hungry screen and graphic processor that's no wonder, but don't go out of the house without a power bank, and don't forget a charger when on travel. I have both 7 and 7a, and while 7a lasts 2 days on charge, the 7� well� let's say I charge it 2x per day. And that's pretty bad record. I can't say that I see much of sharpness improvement between the 2 phones, nor any real speed advantage of Find7 over 7a. Both are amazingly fast, my tired eyes aren't good enough to differentiate between FullHD and 2k screen. But what I did notice was that on 7a, the screen space is much better used than on 7. There's a lot of wasted space on 7. Other than that - the charger really fills battery to 75% in half an hour (on both models), and takes another 45 minutes or so to make it to 100%. Obviously that's only with that bundled 4.5 mAh charger. Charging from USB port though� no, don't even try. I did have one problem that just got fixed - on both phones - and that was way oversensitive screen. When you want to scroll, it would open links, etc. Well, I am glad to say that Oppo just released a 100 MB update which fixed that. So this leaves one grudge over the phone, and that's over dimly illuminated buttons at the bottom - you can only see them in the dark, if you're outside, you'll never even notice them. And possibly a little on the low side audio volume for the calls - it is perfectly crisp and clear, but a quite a bit lower on volume than other phones I have. Again, this goes for both, although I feel 7 is somewhat louder than 7a. Speakerphone is fine though.

The LG G3 has Quad HD as well, they just didn't put it in the specs here. The difference I think is the laser used by LG G3's camera. Also G3 uses - Dolby mobile sound enhancement, I don't know the difference but oith Oppo Find 7 & LG G3 seem very amazing.

Mine came in today. Spectacular phone. My only problem is that I cant figure out how to pull up recent apps and I don't know how to change the hotword from "Ok Snapdragon" to "Hey Mr. Tibbs".....Somethings that were not advertised but work great. Gesture Control, Always on Voice like the Moto X, Gestures while screen is off. Knock to wake like the LG G2. The phone was already at 64% so I wasn't able to test the claim about charging, but it did seem to take about 45 minutes to charge to 100%, granted I was playing with it so the claim seems plausible. Judging by the specs of the charger it looks like 5V-4.5A is required for the Rapid Charging. 4k videos from Youtube look spectacular. Do any of you think you could shed some light on the Active Noise Cancellation. Is it the headphones or the phone? I can't find any documentation that says the phone even supports noise cancellation

Battery is good but I'm still training it. It takes about 4 days until the battery is working at it's best. So far it's good. I get about 14 hours and that's with animations in the background on the wallpaper.

1st day of use scared the hell out. it heated up when not in use or charge. cant even touch your ear when answering calls. but the 2nd day onwards(after install task killer app), everything is fine. *finger crossed* I simply love the screen and the shortcut gestures on lock screen. Battery cant last 11hrs for me(use only after/before work, journey from home to office and so) camera wise, it looks great with sufficient lighting, but need to try more for indoors. overall experience is good so far.

I've been using the Oppo Find 7 for a week now and I found it to be quite a good phone with great design. It's fast and responsive. The QHD screen is amazing and it's usable in the direct sunlight. Android 4.3 is fine but not great compared to 4.4 like Cyanogenmod so I hope Oppo will come out with 4.4.3 soon. I also don't like Color OS because it didn't utilize the big screen well. Moreover, I think it's a bit too fragile for me since I already broke the gorilla glass 3 in the first drop even though it's in a hard case and only from a foot and a half in height. The crack started from the side so my initial assessment is that the side frame is too thin and not strong enough to withstand the impact. Compared to the Galaxy S3 I've been using for almost two years and dropped it too many times to count but the screen didn't even have a scratch on it. If you are a bit clumsy with your phone like me, I don't think this phone is for you.

I asked chinese - in Oppo China central - they said - yes he will work if there is a same GSM standarts. I said - yes, they are same like in tech specs for this phone. I asked - what if I put European SIM card - answer was - we don`t know!! In Oppo China central office !!! Hi all, let me clarify though it is a chinese brand, it is a damned good mobile. I am using an Oppo N1 and i am in love with that phone. Im considering buying another Oppo and i am going to ditch my Note 3. The build quality, battery etc and the OS i.e. Colour OS is awesome. Its fast and no lag at all. HD movies play like butter. Its specs are high. You will not get any other good brand for the price. The closet one will be atleast 50K INR. Oppo also has service centres all over. So no service issues. I hihgly recommend Oppo. In fact I am waiting for the Oppo FIND 7 to ditch my Note 3 which has a hell lot of bloatware etc.

In theory VOOC shouldn't damage the battery over time. Oppo said that it's VOOC (fast charging technology) charges multiple parts of the battery at the same time, which as some tech sites put it, is the same as filling your bath-tub from multiple water taps... Of course, this fast charging technology is only available with their special charger which will NOT work with other phones (unless they're using an Oppo's special battery, which is specially made for this kind of charging with more thermal coating...). So, in THEORY it shouldn't damage it, but you can never be sure. Try watching some videos on YT about it's fast charging, and then make a decision :D

As for the battery, I can't say with absolute certainty since I don't have mine yet (and it would take some time to make that determination if i did) but the battery is rated for the fast charge (Google "battery C rating") and it *should* hold up to the charge rates used.

I have a Find 7a on order and, as you would expect, "can't wait". I am one of those people that researches the carp out of things before I buy (anything above about $100 anyway) and this phone, by the info I can gather, rocks big time. However, there are a few things it does not have and I think it's worth pointing them out for prospective buyers on the chance that one of these feature is a real "must have" in their eyes. 1 - No IR blaster. An IR blaster allows you to use you phone as a "universal" remote control for your stereo, TV, etc. Not a big loss to me as I prefer to keep my phone battery charge for using the phone...I have plenty of remotes (including universal ones). 2 - No FM radio. Again, not a killer for me but for those that use their phones as a radio while working out, jogging, etc., this might be important. 3 - No walk-into-the-store support. Support for these devices will come from on-line sources and, if you have a repair need, it will have to be shipped to China for that service. These companies bet their reputation on high quality so you probably won't have an issue...but if you do, you'll probably need some sort of backup plan. Don't get rid of your old phone :). Other features differ from phone to phone as well. Be sure to check specs carefully to see if there are any that stand out to you as high-priority in your life.

Okay, I've seen enough of these nice, beautiful looking phones with a great performances that are alot better than some of the latest flagships from for an e.g. Samsung and other well known compaines, but I've never actually seen one of them available in the market. Why is that occouring? I mean, should big mobile phone companies that provide mobile phones to their customers (like T Mobile, Tele2, Verizon, etc) target at phones that fulfill requests of many people while still remaining at a somewhat low price? my opinion after experiencing oppo find 7 although just for quick examination on the product; 1. the display - didn't give a vibrant and amazing color. and then I read that it gives a boastful pixel density it come to my senses that density isn't everything in having good display. (unlike my LG optimus G Pro and my Samsung galaxy s4 which does gives an amazing viewing experience). and the brightness is kinda lame on find 7 2. color os - is actually it's ui, which is also kinda lame. it has nothing to brag about. the demo can only boast about is it's gestures which is available in latter model of leading companies. 3. The battery - I didn't had the time to test its endurance but the service unit owned by the demo (sales representative) are all set into power saving mode and its brightness is on the lowest it can be, yet the battery percentage is at 45%. I can onlu perceive that even though it's not being used heavily due to the owner is working the display screen drains the battery big time maybe because of its pixel density. idk but it can only come to this. so that's all. It's only my opinion, but you might also test it for your taste as for me it's a no.

Another issue I'd like to know more about Oppo is regarding its battery life. I'm also voicing the opinion of several other users here who are concerned that such high resolution display might drain the battery quickly. And since the phone (probably) doesn't have removable battery, we can only rely on our charger to pump up its juice. Hopefully, the phone would also be equipped with such powerful and long battery life to make it through the day(s). I hate going around everywhere carrying my charger with me. It's so impractical, esp. when you're outdoor or in a place with no electric source/socket around. I am not sure where you guys are located, but I am located in the US. My biggest concerns are as follows: 1) Support/repair - We will have virtually no support/repair locally. And with Oppo/Oppostyle, it will be a long and dragged out email back and forth. Very painful. Let's say something happens a month down the road, do you even know who you're going to go to get it fixed? A lot of "headache" 2) Quality - specs wise i agree it is VERY good, but it's cheaper than others and I believe there's a difference between "US products Made in China" vs "Chinese product made in China" from a quality control standpoint. Same reason why someone would get a brand name micro SD card vs a no-name card even if same capacity. 3) OS - I have not used color OS , so I can't speak to it, but the Android OS is Jellybean, which lags behind everyone by 1 upgrade cycle. This is a clear indication that the Oppo find 7 will not get future android updates, or even then, slow and behind others by a step. 4)Roms, Rooting. I have owned android phones before and i have never "rooted" it or get roms. But browsing through Oppo forums it seems that the only way to "enjoy" Oppo find 7 (or other import phones) is through rooting and getting roms. If I don't know how to or don't want to, then isn't it going to ruin the experience I will have with Oppo? 5) Battery life when using such good displays...will drain it quick...

If you have a Nvidia GTX series 4 its still a good gpu. If you update your processor to an Intel i7 from an i3 then you are going to see more of a difference in game performance than you would do if you upgraded the gpu. Battery efficiency also falls under that same rule. Same goes for phones

Some of the reviewers got it wrong. There is no 50 mp camera. The software does the trick. It takes multi-burst pictures and then takes the four best picture, combine them and produces a 50 mp picture. There is nothing called truth or lie. Oppo didn't reveal the Find 7 had a 50 mp camera, people presumed it had because of an image leak.

i have seen and used this phone for a while in chna. Touchpad is not good as much as other popular brands sometimes doesnt sense your finger. Battery dies faster comparing with LG G2 or Samsung Note3. No idea about updates or rest. Phone cheaper in chna but chnese versions dont have any google play. Wasting money for me..

Even GTX760 struggle to run games on 2560x1440, I dont think 330 can handle 2k games, & I dont think theres any mobile games support 2k yet, they will prolly set the games resolution to 1080p instead of 2k

I agree with you even we use 32inch tv with just a resolution of 720p and 1080p but when it comes to smartphones I don't knows why the companies just stick to 720p display and think about the brighness,color reproduction, sunlight readiability and innovating their smartphone like no else would have done before. One of its example is apple and we can see that in iPhone 5s and most probably we'll see it again in next generation iPhone from apple this year.

definatly nope :D this is way better then G2, i own G2 and using a modded camera which gives chance to go to max picture quality as possible with G2`s sensor, 4k+magic focus+@120fps, and stable forcing 30fps in low light video recording :D well it could`v done LG also :D but when i look this device i think OPPO did a great job and not limited their camera features soo... also a better cpu 2.5ghz and 3gb ram, its far better then G2 :D this device can be compared only to Note 3 and G Pro 2 :D

Pls dont under estimate OPPO. I m currently using it in Thailand and i heard it has entered Malaysia too. It is not cheap ok but not expensive too with its moderate spec. Best dual sim phone so far after using at least 4 dual-sim phone(Samsung x 1, LG x 1, HTC x 2).Good response, good camera, no-hang..etc. If u are genuine phone user (not game player),give it a try.

There is no "major" diffrence in the resolution the difference is almost not noticeable. Just so you know i have used both phones before and there is no difference in the screen except for the uped size.

720p screens look really poor when compared to 4k screens like on the find 7 and if you actually own a 4k smarr tv you would know that it looks pretty excellent. For graphics performance, it should be superb although adreno 330 may or may not handle the 4k screen well theres a 2.5 ghz snapdragon 801 on board which should produce great performance. Obviously sticking to 720p screens like how apple did with iphone would be a lack of innovation . I really dont see why handling a phone with one hand i such a big deal.

The screen is indeed better than most if not all well known smartphones. Only cause of worry is the multitasking abilities of the UI. 3gb ram and snapdragon 801 gone waste if the UI does not support multiwindow and other cool features that the samsung touchwiz UI brings to the market. Other than that the phone is top notch, atleast the hardware is!
