Palm Treo 270 - User Reviews

  • Silly person this was a smart phone before the iphone. it was an organizer , web browser and it had apps. all those of you worshipping at the feet of steve jobs this device was the true pioneer.

  • Your palm treo 270, was in that time the best phone ever made in the planet, palm engineers was in advance in making cellular regarding the others brands. In order to repair your antenna try to find on ebay a spare parts and any repair shop can fix it very easy. Good luck !

  • i think itz a kids mobile

  • I have a Palm Treo 270. It is one of the best mobile phones I have used to date. It does the simple things in a great way. I now use both HTC and the Blackberry but the joy of using the Palm Treo has just not left me. I will continue to use it if I can get hold of a sevice centre which can repair my antenna which I broke due to my mistake.

  • this heandset ubbeliveable module

  • I agree... it looks like my grandmother!

  • .

  • that is the ugliest phone i have ever seen!!! :l

  • I remember my boss had this ways back and I envied her. Today, I can't stop laughing at the design and specs.

  • why this phone is like this

  • its ugly

  • great design great fone

  • Unfortunately, Palm currently has no model with wifi, but Treo 800 and 850 which are going to be released this summer should have it. :) Currently, I am using TX for web and my trusty Treo for talking. :) I am glad that there are still people who use and like this great phone ! :D

  • i got my treo 270 long time ago, and i'm still very pleased by it. the problem is, now I need device with external memory and wifi. I have to find another newer version.

  • I got my Treo 270 two months ago and I am extremely pleased with it! :) I wanted a smartphone really bad, because the dumb phones and their tiny keyboards started to annoy me. Since I didn't have enough money to buy a newer Treo, I have decided to get a Treo 270. I bought a new one on eBay for little money and I am absolutely satisfied with it! :D Its design is very nice and although it is very old, it is quite fast, which surprised me very nicely. It is really stable, I don't remember when I had a soft reset last time and there are really large amounts of programs available for it. It is really an excellent smartphone, even by todays standards!:) I use it really a lot - for makong calls (of course ;)), writing SMS messages, emails, playing games, reading ebooks, and there are even many nice astronomy programs written for Palm OS. :) If you are considering to buy a smartphone, I really recommend a Palm OS powered one! :) It is simple, yet very powerful and there are many free programs that can help you increase your productivity. It has really become my irreplaceable companion and I cannot imagine my life without a Treo anymore! :) Now, I am sparing money to buy a Treo 680. Wish me luck! :)

  • I am now using a Treo 650 and looking to upgrade to a Treo 680. I like Palm OS better than Pocket PC Windows. I still have my 270 and every now and then get it out and touch it lovingly. As I grew up (technically) with Palm Pilot and then Handspring always using the infra-red with my Nokia 8210 to gain access to internet and email, the 270 was the most glorius thing to come my way. I had the Treo 90 and the Treo 180 and then Treo 180g first, but the 270 was glorious colour. Everywhere I went it fostered half hour conversations and in fact created my first consultancy opportunities as I went on to sell the knowledge of how to run a business with a Treo 270, a laptop and ACT for Windows. The real issue was always the memory capacity and that is why I made the transition to the Treo 600 and then the 650. Fond memories - Every now and then I slip my SIM card into it for the day and relive old times before MP3 obsession and ring tones from the movies! If ever Palm considered relaunching a clamshell design phone you can count me in. Life without a Palm... inconceivable even if the iPhone is 'supposed' to be manyana.

  • my treo 270 was broken, when i drop it. the screen shows blank line. ithink the LCD wire was broken. Can I repair this. I LOVE MY TREO 270

  • I have owned and effectively used a Treo 270 for the past two years and its the best thing that's happened in my life as far as phones are concerned. Indeed, I always tell friends that "I don't use a phone; I use a Treo". For about 2 years, I had to work as a security man outside clients' premises at night whilst attending law school during the daytime, and with the Treo's ability to load word documents (thanks to documents-to-go software) from my PC, I always had my school notes with me and could read for hours in the dark whilst on duty. Today, thanks to Treo, I'm a lawyer. I still use my Treo extensively for my law practice because I can still keep my legal briefs and cases always by my side, including those valuable law school notes. Who needs a laptop when there's a Treo around? Making calls and sending/receiving text messages is such a joy on the Treo, not to mention how easy it is to fall more in love with Treo's Calendar and To-do software than with any woman... they are extremely dependent and reliable! I never have to keep any dates in my mind - my Treo simply reminds me as many times as I care to be reminded, and for ever. The downside of this brand - the 270 - is that the Flip screen/speaker phone easily seizes and will invariably break when you try to open it unconsciously open it to answer a call. Mine is broken but I have improvised a way of still using the phone by taping the flip cover to the back of my phone. A colleague of mine who I introduced to Treo also had his flip broken under the same circumstances. Battery power in phone use, as others have said, is really a nag since you have to charge the phone every day. Phone memory is also too small once you get addicted to using a Treo and all the thousands of wonderful software that go with it. On the whole though, Palm Treo i s the closest pal anyone can ever have. And since there are more advanced models of Treo, your guess is as good as mine. I've been saving for the past year for a Treo 650, but as soon as I saw the 680, that became my target and one day I shall sureley own one. I just wish I could get some kind of support to retail Treo phones in Ghana, especially to lawyers and marketing agencies.

  • Hello, I am very happy to using the Palm treo 270, But I need your help, How to access the Internet through Paml treo 270 to HP laptop. Kindly do the needful, With Regards, Dr. Ashok Kumar Prabath

  • Worest thing bought in my life

  • if u were weak thinker treo 270 is good for you and for those who always forgot their account or anything just open ur handbag or look out from your pocket and just flip to open and tap.

  • This was one of the first and best PDA phones. I got a lot of mileage out of mine, but the keyboard died exactly after one year. I concur with those who complain about the battery. I also had a problem with voice on it, as it used to echo a lot. However, the fun that a Palm is has still not been matched. The fun's even more when you keep getting new applications installed on your PDA phone.

  • Need assist all of you for access gmail by my treo 270, using eudora or PocketLink. Warm regards, TWD

  • The procesor of the treo 270 is too bad (only 33 Mhz) the procesor of the treo 600 is too much fast (144 Mhz)

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! Thats the only word that sums up the phone cum PDA.I bought mine from a second hand shop.It was brand new.But the owner didnt know anything abt it.Got it dirt cheap.I had lost me troublesome LG phone. The battery doesnt last over a day inspite of very light use.But the utility value is SO high. Kudos to PALM for making a genius

  • To be candid, I like my Treo 270 so well...but I have not been able to get through some things on it like, infrared, games etc...I think thereason is that the manual that came with my phone is not written in english.....could you be help me out? Once again, I like my Treo 270. thanks......Abel

  • To me the pda part as well as the phone part are both equally important. I thick the pda and phone does not work well together. My treo 270 hangs a few time a day and need to be reset each time. There were a few time when I was asked whether to erase all data. I have to choose yes, otherwise the screen shall blink between black and blue. Reset does not help. Luckily I have backed up although a week out dated most of the time. Synching with the PC was most of the time no problem. The battery life was really bad. Since day one, total talk time was 45 minutes max. 8 months later today, It is down to approx. 25 minutes. I have to charge it a few times a day. I manage to get a USB car charger. Local distributor technician in Malaysia said that treo 270 should be used as a pda and not so much as a phone ( which is why it is a pda-phone and not a phone-pda, he joked ). He suggested I get a back up phone of a different brand. I agreed totally. The technician also told me that treo 270 is well known for lousy battery life. I shall have to upgrade soon, most likely it is not going to be a Treo. Bad battery and very unstable. It could not be any worse than this.

  • i read all the previous comments made with a great deal of interest why?? because the palm treo 270 is probably the best thing that has happened in phones in the last 4 years!! why am i being so superfluous?? i got this phone about 2 month ago and since then, my life has not remained the same not only is it a fantastic phone, its an even greater personal digital assistant (pda). i have spent countless hours on the internet and managed to download a bunch of software onto my treo 270 for instance, i have full copy of the kjv bible, matthew henrys commentary, about ten books (management books, quotes, about 4 christian books) and eleven great games!! the issue with the treo270 is that its not for everybody its a smartphone with emphasis on corporate users hence no camera (am i a photographer??), no mp3 player but you get a fantastic phone that synchronizes painlessly with your pc/laptop so that even if you lose your phone, you have everything backed up!! the downside tho, is the poor battery life you need to charge/recharge every 18 hours depending on use, though. by the way, if u are having challenges with reading your sim card, take time to secure the sim card holder properlyits a little loose and as such, the phone may not often make contact with the simits not much of a problem, really. my final word if u dont need a smartphone with all these pc features, then by yourself a nokia3310 or something if u are a busy executive like moi, then u cannot live without this smartphone and all its fantastic features by the time u get the phone u will no longer require a laptop ever again!! need more info?? contact me at funwakinmade@ gmail.com

  • pls i have a treo 270 phone but the flip top is broken please send me a reply telling me how to go about gettting the flip top.please reply via the above mail.mega

  • this phone is the worst cell that i ever bought in my life... i dont wana say mor .. but ill never buy any of the PALM products tell the end of my life..

  • I'm sorry to say but my PalmOne aka Handspring Treo 270 has died on me. All my contact numbers are lost with it. I'm not bothering to fix it. The handphone stuck on a screen(crashed) and I couldn't off it. Even took out the sim card and put it back and nothing happened. I even had problems like Dr Saleh last time about getting simcard errors. Windows based PDA are more practical than Palm to me. However I'm using a P900 Sony Ericsson. Much better phone.

  • i work in a mobile phone store. After reading all the bad comments about the Palms i have come to a conclusion. I think that all the people that wrote bad opinions dont now what their on about. Palm phones are very high in technology and are more indepth than any other phone. So get your facts write before you give other people your opinions!!

  • pls i've treo 270. and i've found it difficult to activate the wap set up, cos my service provider supports the wap service, so pls i want u to help me send the full details of how i can activate the wap service. i'll be very happy if my request is been qranted. your sincere costomer Julius E. from nigeria. • The best and very cheap PDA Phone , i very like it

  • i have this PDA phone.it doesn't have any camera.not sure if there is any accessory for it. i didn't buy it, dad got it from someone. since he has his own o2 XDA2, he gave it to me. i just use it. it is more towards a PDA since it has a big screen & stylus. It is okay not that fancy. Keyboard takes a little time to get use to when sms. Very hard to sms using 1 hand. i have to charge it almost everyday. battery quite weak. battery is built in so you can't have another for spare. I'm not sure about the price.

  • and i will be the last!!!!!!!!yey
