Panasonic VS7 - User Reviews

  • i like it.......

  • try ebay, should still find batteries and chargers for sale there :)

  • Hi! I just want to ask where can i buy the battery and charger for my VS7? I haven't using the fone since 2009, will it still work if i replace the battery? Thanks! Malyn

  • RIP Panasonic Cell phones division.

  • *sigh* i remember how much I wanted to get this phone so I could play sonic the hedgehog on it... But since then phones have come a long way. I can play a sonic rom on my genesoid app on my android phone. But I still remember how cool it would have been back then...

  • may as well get a new fone

  • Has no one here heard of 3G? Its been out for a while hey, most handsets have them these days, maybe consider gettin a phone with the LATEST FEATURES. something of actual quality... (and then suddenly nokia comes to mind) :)

  • Yes , the problem is you have a crappy phone - get a better handset

  • most panasonic mobile phones specially their VS series.. the commnon problem is the flex cable it is very versatile and when you usually flip it often you are closer to your phone damage.. hehehe like in our country most people here are txters so.. its not really a good phone for people who are texters..it is more on call and entertainment.. but texting.. i would not recommend this

  • There is no memory slot...???

  • i have problem transfering data from my vs7 to my new pc. is that because i'm using window vista? the handset manager cannot detect vs7 while connecting it with data cable. does anyone knows the problem?

  • This is a good phone. The camera is awesome. I have experienced the white screen though and not sure what is causing it. Basically, I can't see anything except white. Anyone experienced this before?

  • you go to nearest service center, they have.

  • hi can you locate me a new one cheers mate

  • try to contact some ebay seller who has got VS3 full housing, I think that if they live in Hong Kong or Taiwan they can find a VS7 housing for you so that you can have the replacing parts you need.. anyway I don't know how to remove the old housing and to put it the new .. it maybe risky, you may break the phone flex cable or mainboard.. You may also need a special screw to open the old housing, ask for it to the seller.. cheers

  • Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows how or where I can have my broken VS7 fixed. The main screen is damaged with the display completely not visible. If I were to find a screen from another VS7, does anyone know how to install it? I also would like to know if anyone out there knows where I can get parts for the VS7. You help is appreciate it. I love this phone and hate to see it unused. Thanks.

  • I like my VS7, I don't know why there's been so many complaints about microsd and so on.. it's the same with VS3 and Bluetooth.. This mobiles lack some features.. ok, you know it before buying. I don't miss the micro sd, it would have been useful ok but I can live with my 30mb of built-in memory. (for those who want a pana with microsd, just find some used x700/x701/x800). Screen is superb. Camera is absolutely great. Customization is great but only if you can find some asian transparent faceplate for vs7 (not so easy to find) so you can create your own custom jackets. Speaker is lower than average mobile phones but not so constraining. I'm most of the time at home and never had any problem with the speaker's volume. Dimensions are maybe generous.. I'd prefer the vs3 but with a bigger screen as VS7. Push-up button is the most craziest and sametime gorgeous thing I've ever tried on a mobile phone.. I LUV IT!! Battery lasts poor time after months of use. There are some minuses I know.. but once you have this phone.. you'll luv it as I do.

  • to grifford, did you try the local panasonic service center. they used to have a display center at digital exchange in glorietta but its closed now. but i think they still have a service center at shaw blvd just don't know if they still repair cellphone.

  • asking for a help . . . Good day to all! im from the Philippines.i have this my Panasonic VS7 unit for in just a couple of months in me that was already malfunctioning. on the night of March 25 of this year, i was been annoyed by the display of my phone. i was texting my friend that time when suddenly i noticed a single white line light on my LCD display until it multiplies and can't see anything aside from a white display all over my LCD. i was too panic by then, i suddenly turned it off. but by the time i i turned it on again, the whole display was already black. it shows nothing. the following day, i asked some cell shops if they repair such kind of unit, but they only say same thing, "it's really hard to find the parts of your cellphone, you look for other shops if they repair such unit" and other thought, "it's all about the flex boi".". my day was over yet i didn't found anyany shop that would accept to repair my phone. hay.. that was really too bad to hear for my part. my communication is really important for me, specially in my nature as a leader and an active person to many organizations. i hope you can help me with regards to this matter.if you know some repair center please kindly notify me. i'm looking forward for your response. thanks. God bless you all.

  • I have use the VS7 for 3 years. Its a nice phone except the reception is poor and the speaker is very week. I thought it looked cool and I don't know how it got labled as ugle. I found the camera to be outstanding which you would expect from Panasonic, with a built in optical macro which was the best in its class in its day. If your in a city its OK but on the fringes its very anoying becuase you can't hear clearly what the person is saying. I will be buying a new phone soon and I would buy a Panasonic again if they were making them just for the camera alone. Regards Mark

  • panasonic is still making great phones in japan for NTT Docomo and Softbank check it out the Foma P905i and P705iu... u will see

  • So lately my VS7 had been acting very strange. The batteries would only last for 4 hours, and it was always very hot. I just opened it to check the batteries, and it looks like its gonna burst. Anyone know where I can buy a replacement battery? It can be used, I just need it to work until I buy a better decent phone.

  • Hey John, This phone is no more manufactured, so no 1 would buy it even if they wanted to?? Have a nice weekend all of you. Cheers!!

  • Panasonic VS7 is: 1) Very bad 2) Very ugly 3) Batery gone in 9 months 4) Sound can not hear. Do not buy Panasonic phone. Bad bad bad bad

  • Hi People, Hope u all r fine. Mus thank Mark, for clarifying tht Panasonic has stopped maufacturing phones, b'coz I am crazy abt Nokia phones & I dont knw anything abt Panasonic phones & was shocked today when I happend to check the mobile phone list of panasonic, was shocked to c tht Panasonic's last latest mobile phone was released on Jan 2005. Their landline wireless phones tht I use at home are good, their televisson is also ok(but not too many sales in tht segment as well), But I guess they did the good thing by coming out of business with regards to mobile phones, as itz not good to dump their phones into the market incase they are not confident about the quality. I jus do not agree with 1 point that mark stated, mark stated tht Panasonic closed their factory because they found tht they cannot make too much profit in the mobile phone industry. I guess Mark is wrong b'coz if Nokia & SE for example can make good profit then why not Panasonic. Conclusson: itz jus tht Panasonic realised tht they cannot survive in the compitition, so they thought why to play in the game.. They may b no.1 or no. 2 in Japan alone, b'coz Japan's population is vry large & Panasonic is smart enough to tie up with major gsm service providers in Japan & there Panasonic wud b offering each hanset(mobile phone) complementary with every gsm connection inorder for people to make use of 3G facility. So thtz how they r No.2 or so.. Hav a nice wkend.. Cheers!!

  • Panasonic officially terminated all production of celfones since January 2006. Except for Japanese 3G phones (and the manufacturing plant in Japan), all its factory in Taiwan, the Philippines and Hungary were closed. Panasonic heeded that its GSM business is no longer profitable so they pulled-out of business. In Japan, they are still making 3G phones for WCDMA and CDMA2000 technologies and limited units for the 2G technology in Japan known as PDC. Panasonic is ranked#2 in Japan in terms of the numbers of units sold in 2005 and 2006.

  • Of course, no memory slot, did you notice that this-newest- Panasonic was announced in 2005!! Panasonic , seems to me, isnt making phones anymore.

  • i used to admire phone from Panasonic. But today i think they are loosing it with the big players in the market like Sony Ericsson and Nokia. But still i find this phone very interesting, although they lack some advance features that other phone manufacturers today are offering.

  • depends on ur provider, vs7's are gsm phones, which means that they dont have as good reception, so its natural that they dont work very well in basements

  • whats going on with panasonic phones ,none of them have a memory slot. Where are you going woth those phones without memory slot and none of them dont have a camera with 3 mp

  • hi jeet. i live in canada and i live in a basement. the reception is pretty good. never had a problem.

  • if anyone own this phone in states or canada, can they please talk about VS7 reception?? doesnt have to work in basement...

  • any japanese phone starting with a letter P is made by panasonic and sorry they won't work outside of the japanese seawaters! wahahahaha not unless you have a plan with the phone under roaming

  • they make more phones... it's called 705p & 706p. They r helping a company in japan called softbank 2 produce phones!!! check it out!!! LOOKS so nice!!!

  • Why panasonic isnt remaking this? a VS8 would be cool , slimmer , microsd supported , better camera , keep the screen , keep the push thing , louder speaker (PLEASE?) , more freedom software (Not all pre-programmed, free like SE)

  • It's a cool phone, works exelently in Russia. And the main thing is that nobody has this kind of phone here. Super, I like it.

  • does panasonic not know how to install memory card slots into the "VS" series? whats the point of a 2 megapixel camera with only 30MB of memory?

  • Bought one from Hong kong, and it works excellent in Europe. One of the best phones I ever had. Clear bright screen, fast menues and good batterytime. The buttons may feel a bit flat, but it's just a matter of getting used with it.

  • does 706p and 705p work outside of japan??? if does wow i'm getting one so nice!!! 706 wow super nice!!!

  • darn.. my vs7 didnt come with the usb cable. panasonic still make gsm phones but with softbank.. its call 706p and 705p

  • you can put full length songs if you use the usb cable which connects the handset to a computer, but you must use pansonic's handset manager to do so

  • hey i was wondering.. for vs7 user. can u put FULL songs like the normal 4 min songs... i can only put ringtones or cut songs...

  • >> salman panasonic stopped making phones and is only making phones for japan-use. so stop it!Ok?!

  • Panasonic should start make now: 1. Hi class TFT phones with highest colours 2. GD 55 sized or even smaller sets as well as light and thin 3. Maximum strong batteries as MX 7 and SA 6's. Even more than 1000 hours of standby time. Durable also. Come to the PARTY again, Panasonic

  • The external display is crap

  • is vs7 still produnced?

  • i have this phone almost 2 years. its GREAT i gotta tell u.. all the torture this baby been thorugh its still fine.. dropping and more dropping. i like the camera its great. but now its kinda started to crack T.T the only main disadvantage is taht the button are kinda small for a phone taht size~ everything else~ its greatt~

  • you may want to get the panasonic x800. uses mini sd card. symbian so quite so slow. other than that, it is a nice phone to own. used it for quite awhile. vga camera but pic turned out ok if u snap up close and personal.

  • The VS7 is excellent, just like its relative vs6. Excellent value for money. Camera is especially good

  • anybody know of a panasonic phone with memory card slot cos i'd buy if one if they the slot

  • I originally got a VS7 off of eBay back in 2005 or early 2006.These Panasonic mobiles are truly awesome, and are now the only mobiles I trust. This phone still impresses people today that see it years on. Back when I got it though, I was the only one with a 2.0 megapixel camera with nothing avalible from my local phone store even having anything that offered this from Motorola, Nokia, or Sony-Ericsson. People often bitch that there is no expandable memory, but back when it came out 32mb built-in was almost unheard of, with 5mb phones still the common thing regardless how how much money you were willing to depart with. In short, this mobile was great then, and still is now. No crashes, no corrupted files, no lock ups. It's a feature rich phone without all the downfalls of it's competition then and now. The phone is so reliable that even with a flat battery, it'll turn on just for your alarm to go off so you don't sleep in for work. I swear by Panasonic mobile VS/SA/MX line up, and before they came out I use to hate mobiles.

  • yes u can put i to ur phone jar games only u have is put a txt with some command just look it out in the net

  • Hi, anyone has any idea if this phone can support Jar file games? I love playing games on mobile, any suggestion? Hope someone pls reply...thanks a million.

  • What is it with Panasonic and these long ass phones their comming out with lately. Don't they understand that ppl want a phone, and not a tricorder from star trek. And man are they ugly.. Serious ppl, let be honest, they are ugly...

  • Hey how do you load up mp3s onto this phone.. i seem to only be able to upload the mmf files or whatever they are

  • I've VS7 already 1 year.. What can i say.? MP3 isn't loud enough, all the buttons can be a little bit larger.. All other performance just is good to me..

  • Pipz!!! panasonic has long stopped manufacturing phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they've moved back to japan to just focus on producing superb 3g phones^_^ they weren't glad with the result of sales they've had during the early years, thoguh they didn't end up being bankcrupt or something. they've just gave up.

  • I've a VS7. Is there any possibility, to use the screen in full-size, if I wanna take new pictures/viedeos or view stored pictures/videos?

  • ye,bring back the GD series, make them rule again

  • If Panasonic EVER make another phone again I will drive my car through the front doors of their headquarters!!!!! Good luck with that. Panasonic makes nice phones but the designs are all similar.

  • comeon panasonic....make a new one bring back the gd series

  • What more can I say? POOR DESIGNING!!! Come on Panasonic, use your technological power....

  • Rust in peace panasonic

  • So my phone has this glitch where everytime I get a voicemessage and I listen to it, it tells me that I got a SMS message when I didn't. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Also, does anyone know where I can get more face plates for this phone? Or tell me what the name of the model is for this phone in Japan?

  • Has Panasonic stopped producing mobile phones already? How come they've not been coming out with any new models for such a long time?

  • I've had heaps of fun with my VS7 and i'm in New Zealand. I can go onto the panasonic box site and download and send multiple txts (group) and bluetooth. For the person who entered the comment below, you need to make sure your bluetooth settings are on show phone not the default hide phone. I find the only disappointing thing with the phone is the speaker volume. I have missed calls because the volume is not loud enough and the speaker option is not very good either. Other than that this is an awesome phone but would love a slimmer version..

  • as I make to make the computer to recognize panasonic, I to pass the photos of it for my computer! please they help me! so Brazilian orders some reply for my email: [email protected]

  • someone please tell me can you send/recieve audio ringtones through bluetooth from another phone????

  • quick question lads, i have a x700 and the external display is -sad to say- pathetic, does this display actually show full pics on caller id?

  • if panasonic ever make another mobile with leica lens plus mega O.I.S technology, it will cost a bomb. and i should be spoilt in a month's time. now that the phones are so lousy already, imagine having such a high end cam in it. it will go crazy and probably explode., jus my opinion though..and seriously i can't wait to see the phone =)

  • Does anyone know how to enable WAP connection for VS7. I can't download anything from the panasonic homepage, and how can I use the internet from this phone. Please help me out, thank!!!!

  • You can access the internet with vs7. I have browsed full websites with this phone. such as ebay, photobucket, pbase, and etc etc. The quality of the websites are like what you see on the computer(photo sites) since vs7 has 16million color display. To make WAP work, go to internet settings and change it. Or if you have tmobile, you can go to their site and do a wireless config from their site. Or call tmobile and ask them to send u a txt with wap config.

  • If Panasonic EVER make another phone again I will drive my car through the front doors of their headquarters!!!!!

  • does anyone know how to send group messages using this phone? or does this feature really exists? thanks alot. please reply asap. thanks!

  • after long disscussion with cingular rep, the fact that vs7 cannot access internet (WAP feature) is because vs7 does not support 850. Roaming sign is not a problem, if you have national plan. I haven't found a way to make it go away on the screen, but I kinda got used to looking at it, and started ignoring it... Overall I like my phone, it's just that I can't get online which means I have to download music/games through my computer...

  • how do i get games compatible with this model and any suggestion on wap sites thanks

  • Nokia Puts carl-zeiss optics to their imaging phones in an effort to be the no. 1 imaging phone, SE answered that with the cybershot feature in which it boast of cybershot digicam features and a true flash... how about panasonic? use lumix and leica lens to compete the two, and then motorola to use kodak tech for imaging phones i.e. lens schneider kreuznach? hmmm... will this happen at all,..

  • "bomm" well we can say that this its cool , camery its ok , but after doing research we find that sprint has very good phones great camery great fetures great looks every thing, the battery life its ok on some phones and price good and good cust care, we had a call centre here in trinidad and they were great, so sprint hits a woping %99 on our scale.. from aleem & co ltd trinidad west indies, "boom".. (all) ..

  • Just curious... I just got a VS7 as a replacement and it says that I am always roaming. How do I go about programming the phone to my network. I currently with T-Mobile in the states. Thanks

  • I just bought this phone yesterday and it is soooo cool. I love it. It's got a 2 MP camera which takes excellent pics. It can play MP3's with nice sound. It's got a decent menu system and the phone is just sooo sexxxxaaayyy!!! YEaaaaah Baaaabbby getttt in my belly!!!!! ROFLMAO

  • panasonic mobile is dead.this mobiles was announced over 2 years ago.no sign from panasonic.even japanese models are very weak:2 mp and very far from any nokia n-series.let's play a recviem for old good times when panasonic was in the front line of mobiles in europe and asia

  • Had this phone for several months now. I like the phone. Here are some drawbacks on this phone: Bluetooth headsets: The volume is lower than other phone when connected to a headset. Earpiece volume: Even when on the highest volume, you still have a hard time hearing sometimes.(like when you are driving) This phone gets scratched easily. Your finger nails can make it get scratched. When toy drop the phone, Expect it to have some ugly dents. Okay, that was the con's and here are some PRos. The sound quality(mp3, ringers) are one of the clearest and best sounding. They are not the loudest, but it is crystal clear. The screen is is big and bright. ITs better than my digital camera with same screen size. Auto open with a button is a handy future. You can download wall papers to match your faceplates on the panasonic box.(just go to ur phone and click on the panasonic box. Its free) The size is good so you dont drop it while doing things. Camera is very high quality. Takes nice sharp pictures. Battery life is good. I never have a problem with it going low on me.(I charge it every night) The illuminating emoticons are awesome. (They flash different lights with different face expressions on text messages) You can read txt with the phone being closed. Use your camera's flash as a flash light(Just go to camera, turn on flash, and close the lid and voila~ a flash light that is bright and handy) THere are more, but i gotta go catch my sleep. Hope this helps some people considering this phone. I would recommend it.

  • hahaha let me clear things up for every1 here ok?! this phone is way too old, so pls stop commenting about its memory, sound or wahtsoever, about the 3g panasonic phones sum1 is talking about, sorry to say but thething that panasonic was saying about focusing on making 3g phones is that those phones weren't meant for the world but are strictly for japan. uhm, they've already made phones with the help of NTT DoCoMo all DoCoMo phones starting with the letter "P" means that its developed, created and made by panasonic, and u can easily distinguish those phones since it pretty much looks like this,, last thing, Panasonic has closed all of its plants that are making these phones w/c means they are too dead for upgrade and stuff like that so i wouldn't recommend u buying these stuffs

  • absolute massive.wont fit in ur pocket guaranteed.to big mate.

  • why does it play MP3/AAC files and only have 30MB of meomery how many mp3s can you put on there 8?

  • There is a way to make mic&earpiece volume louder. Ask someone to call you and switch to speaker mode. Default volume is 2, rise it to 3 (you can rise to 4 but it will be very loud, believe me). Talk a little to test it then hang up (by the way, once I switched to speaker mode I couldn't switch back during this call, strange). On the next call you will hear the difference :)

  • hey fone viewers...this fones seems nice..i need a nu 1 n i dnt need 1 wit a mp3 coz i got a ipod...i jus need a nice sexy lookin fone that sends msgs n calls...this fone seemed nice, is it released in australia?? its not around in the stores..n if n e one knows can u also share the price of this fone with me?

  • panasonic has given up gsm /gprs or so calles 2g phones to concentrate only on 3g phones.. As of yet ive heard nowt but its likely they will suddenly burst onto the market with a bunch of fones & they may even be secretly testing hspda fones as thats the next step ???

  • is there new phone coming out from panasonic? i really like de vs7 design but the memory is really not enough ba...

  • I have had this phone for 2 weeks and so far i really like it. The only thing that disapoints me is the memory 32 mb is kind of small but sense i already have a MP 3 player it doesn't bother me that much. Alot of people complain that its too big but after have the Sidekick II for a year nothing is "Big" to me. dispite the size the weight of the phone is remarkably light. O and the battery is really good so far 1-2 weeks without charging my phone..this by far is the best phone i have had so far

  • Hey does anyone know if Panasonic is still in the handphone business? No new products for a long time!

  • to DW and Alan i just got V3 the other day and i also have same problem with you guys..... i tried to solve the problem but there was nothing i can do :( it seems resonable that it is because of this phone is not made for t-mobil, but my opinion is that this phone is tribrand which is applicable for several carrier so itt shoud not have this situation. does anyone familier about this problem? thank you.

  • Panasonic Mobile Communication is not Dead....... It is true that the manufacturing company in Phils was closed but production was transfer to Beijing. This is bec Panasonic is now concentating on the development of much advance 3G phones also similar on the japan Docomo phone that u can actually use the phone like a credit card that the actual phone will be scan. ( Malupit di ba? ) FYI .... In japan market(not GSM phones) Panasonic is still one of the leader in mobile phones. There is still lots of service center for panasonic so dont worry.

  • TO PREVIOUS USER: Panasonic is NOT DEAD!!! Think what you say! CURRENT PANASONIC PHONES HAVE ENOUGH DEMAND IN MATURE ASIA!!!!! There is no simply no need for Panasonic to pump up any new models until it accomplish a significant progress in photo/video technology for mobile phones. And in earlier 2007 Panasonic will anounce new series of phones with real photo/video capabilities!!!! (MOST LIKELY with real optical zoom , leica lens and Panasonic's famous O.I.S.) Just look at Panasonic's new line of digital cameras which is coming up in September: FX07, FX50, LX2!!!! Look at things those cameras can do!!!

  • panasonic is dead.this "top of the range" was launched 2 years ago.rust in peace panasonic mobile division.good-bye.i use to love panasonic mobiles.nokia n-series forever!!!

  • Thanks for the info i asked almost everybody and never got an answer. Thanks!

  • @ Mister R - FOMA 902 ======================= You cannot use FOMA handsets outside of Japan, even if they are WCDMA (3G). FOMA phones cannot be unlocked - full stop. No one has ever achieved to unlock a FOMA WCDMA or tri-band phone (that I know of). Do not be tempted to buy any FOMA phone off eBay as you will never be able to use it locally. Harlekkin

  • $200 At FINALLY we have a two megapixel sensor phone that costs what it supouse to cost!!!!

  • don't buy panasonic coz they don't make gsm phone anymore for international market. they are now concentrtating on domestic market only though they have said they are going to make 3g phones but have yet to come out with any yet.

  • Hi, jenny hmm i own myself a vs7 since many months and i love it. I dont know where you can find themes but i know you can change the colors of the light in PHONES SETTINGS >> ILLUMINATIONS>> then u will find what u where looking for :D

  • I have 3 questions... 1. Ever since I got this phone, I've always been on Roaming. Is anyone else facing this problem? Should I call TMobile and ask about this? 2. Can I download themes for this phone? If so, where can I get them? 3. Can I change the colour of light that flashes on my phone when I close it, talk on it, charge it, etc?

  • Does anybody knows where to buy the new foma phones? i would like the f902is and if it is a quadband (oporational in europe?) i currently own a vs7 and i love it but i would like to upgrade it. Many thanks

  • to DW and Andrew i believe the problem is like DW said because the phone is "unlocked" thats why we are experiencing these kind of problems. i have the exact same problems as you guys and have tried with both T-Mobile AND Cingular (blank SMS and not seeing VM iconetc.) so it's probably because of the phone.

  • Just signed up with T-mobile and got the VS7. Nice looking phone and I liked everything about it. Except I am experiencing some problems with it, and I m not sure if its the phone itself or its the carrier. I seem to get a "blank txt message" whenever I check my voicemail. Also, when I do receive a VM, the phone doesn't indicate I have unheard messages so often times I have to check VM regularly to see if I've missed a message. My friends has also told me they have trouble reaching me most of the time since their call gets directed straight to my email. I called t-mobile and all they can tell me is that since my phone is "unlocked" (meaning not made for t-mobile), that's why I m experiencing this problems. Does anyone else have similar problems? Can anyone help me out? Thanks.

  • Nevermind, please ignore my last question.

  • Sorry if this question has already been posted before, but... How do I send mp3 ringtones to my phone?

  • hi guys im looking for a flip fone which i download tons of games via internet. is there a website to download java games for this model?

  • First, to answer a couple questions I saw below: Yes, the VS7 can send MMS messages. You will need to call T-Mobile and have them send you the settings. Its easy and it should work very well when completed. The VS7 can also use mp3's as ringers. You need to install the software that came with the phone (there is a CD if I am not mistaken) and then connect either via bluetooth or USB. After that, fiddle with the program that comes on the CD and it should set up quite nice. I have many mp3's as my ringers. Now, my question: Anyone using T-Mobile with this phone find that this phone has some compatiblility issues with T-Mobile's system? For example, when I get a voicemail the voicemail icon will not show at all and instead it will show the sign for text messages without the text indicator at the bottom. Also, when I try and listen to my voicemail my phone will constantly be notified that I have a text message, again without the text indicator at the bottom, but there is no text message. Many times my phone will not allow me to dial out nor will it allow me to receive calls. Then there is the problem with it notifying me of voice mails a day after I receive them, without the voice mail icon of course. Anyone else have these problems, or similiar? If so, do you know of a solution?

  • hello guys I have a really important question. Can this phone send/RECEIVE MMS messages? Because I am using this phone with T-Mobile service and for some reason can't download MMS. do i need to contact T-mobile company or something to set up? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

  • Sorry if this was already asked. I was wondering if the VS7 can use mp3 as ringtones? If not, what format does it take? If it does use mp3, what bitrate and etc? For all you VS7 owners, has that flip switch ever broke on you? Thanks

  • yup. u can use most bluetooth headset w/ panasonic vs7. i'm currently using motorola s500 with the vs7. works good.

  • And if it only work's with Panasonic's bluetooth, then how is the sound quality of Panasonic's bluetooth???? FU..C Everything else (sd card slot, FM radio and etc...) Sound quality is the most impertant feature in the phone!!!!!

  • WHY NOBODY HAS ANSWERED AN IMPORTANT QUESTION POSTED BY PREVIOUS USER?: Does VS7 model compatible with all types of bluetooth brands or only programmed to work with Panasonic's bluetooth??????

  • We had our chance =================== I think that the Western world had its chance to use Japanese mobile handsets, and not enough people wanted them: "Too big, too ugly...who cares about the brilliant qualit?". But this is slowly coming to an end. Most Japanese manufacturers have withdrawn back to Japan, or quit the mobile market completely. Mitsubishi - gone. Panasonic - FOMA & Softbank? SHARP - Softbank, FOMA. (Slowly withrawing out of EU market.) NEC - slowly withdrawing, FOMA & Softbank. Toshiba - like Sharp, Softbank & FOMA; Never had a real foot in Europe besides the 902T & 803T. Too sad really, I love my 903SH and it's sad that nothing else can really replace it. SE K800i is OK, but not good enough. :( Harlekkin

  • faceplates could be found in Japan. I remember seeing various types of faceplates for VS7 and I believe its in the NTTDoCoMo Website under the P902i or something. However, its all in Japanese.

  • very nice phone models by panasonic..d' best display so far at 16M colors..but lacks card slot..phone memory is too small..you can't extend...may i suggest to R&D of panasonic to add card slot feature in your phones. i think it's a great phone to have if it has bigger memory...more power!

  • Are there different types of colors of the VS7? I'm not talking about the plates or the cover. I'm talking about the celphone in general. Is there a black color instead of grey?

  • anyone know where you can pick up custom faceplates? i've tried a google search but it hasn't yielded anything useful. or does anyone out there do custom work? thanks...

  • wat hapen 2 panasonic no new phones...

  • hat color faceplate does this phone come with?

  • I've had this phone for about 1 month. I love the design, the one flick auto open mechanism, the brilliant screen and the user friendly interface. I love this phone. However, for a few days now it has been shutting down on me and then restarting on its own. Sometimes this happens in a loop; other times the phone hangs altogether. I have to take out the battery to restart. Has this problem occurred to anyone else?

  • IMPORTANT QUESTION: Does this phone connects to universal bluetooth brands ( one of them is Plantronic) or it is locked by Panasonic only to work with Panasonic's bluetooth?> And how is the sound quality through the bluetooth on this phone (if anyone tried) SERIOIS ANSWERS ONLY! THANKS!

  • this phone sucks in design and han no external memory

  • they've stopped making phones for the world and just returned to japan to focus on their FOMA phones... the reason y they did this is unknown...

  • I have this phone and I have to admit it's a great phone. I love it and I just can't find a reason to dislike it. It has great features, a big bright screen, nice design, etc. People say it's a big phone, but i'm a girl, and I find it perfect. :)

  • I have found this phone great to use. Exceptional user functionality, great screen, average camera, cool features. If your a hardcore "txter" I found writing texts very easy (I hate using sms lingo). And the best part - I picked this phone up off ebay for $255 (+$60p&h)!!! Cool Phone!!!

  • I have used many mobile phones in my life so long which are inclusive of Nokia 6260, 6630, 6680, 7610 and Sony Ericsson K700, S700, Z1010 as well as Motorola E398 but all of them palpably differ from this Panasonic phone, VS7. I was aware that most Panasonic phones lack the quality in designs but this one is totally different. My perception changed when seeing the amazing features of this magnificent phone. It really is worth buying since the price is reasonable. Having this phone makes me feel satiated, I did.

  • I found this phone pretty good, Except if the sound could be a bit bigger. Overall I'm happy with this phone. I can see clearly since the screen is fairly big, the colour is amazing and its alot better then the other flip phones I've had. Plus gotta love the auto-open button... People who get this phone I'm sure they'll enjoy it atleast a bit. Other wise as much as I am.

  • dont be stupod this design is slick and the reason apple has kept their design is because it sells. I prefer this sleek design and I think the screen is one of the best i've seen so far. First being sharp.

  • i didn't know that the phone is that lousey

  • yo YHk1, chill out... panasonic is no longer makin any mobile phones. they closed down all their plants in the philipinnes. oka, get it? good.

  • Wtf panasonic!!! Come out with a new phone, and a new design!! This one is getting tired. At least put a little effort into making phones (really, ur phones don't sell themselves), don't be like apple with the ipod and keep copying yourself. Maybe they stopped trying and i just don't know.

  • ...overall the VS7 is an above par phone. But the earpiece as well as the speaker on the back is quiet low. Do you guys have any "hacks" or mods for this phone? than you...

  • very ugly

  • I have owned the VS7 for several months and really like the display and the size. The only thing is the ringing sound is low. Found out that if you set the phone to "outside" mode everything gets BETTER as far as sound goes.

  • This phone is almost perfect, if this is not released in Sweden I will jump off a bridge _ Seriously though, it seems to have what the previous models did not, such as the MP3-player and the e-mail function. Those were the flaws that made the previous models not work, so this time I'm sure it will sell! I will definitely buy it!! ((but please make one that is as bright in color as the VS3..))

  • can anyone tell me where can i find the theme for VS7....thankx

  • ixDV : comparison fotos that i took can be found @ jn}U : no it's not a 3G fone

  • my friend has this phone and i borrowed it for a few days. i was very impressed with the clear screen and that was about it =/ the phone was quite big compared to many other flip phones out there and feels bulky. i missed calls quite often because i couldn't hear the phone ring (even on loudest setting) voice quality was ok and signal was so so. i don't know if it's all panasonic phones but reception aren't so great with this phone. oh yea battery life sucks =(

  • i was wondering if VS7 is a 3G phone????

  • cons - speaker can be louder - the camera fps is small - saving time is slow - loading time is slow pros - every other things are good.

  • this phone is quick good .. n the screen is wide .. but the only thing is tht where can i get the battery cover cause i lost the battery cover .. if anyone know where can get please inform me .. thanks a lot ...

  • i dont know what all the complaining here is for, i got a vs7 and i can say that its a pretty good phone when i compare it to my friends nokias and motorola razors. the only problems that i think it has is a not so good loudspeaker and lack of external memory. Everything else in my opinion is good, if not better than most phones out there.

  • I was a Panasonicn fan for a long time. Having used a GD88 for two years. The phone was the best I had used as I never took it for repair for the two years. When I wa nedt to get a new phone, I looked at Panasonic VS2 up to VS7, the can not compare, the construction quality os poor, when holding them in your hands, They seem to fall apart. If panasonic want a better share, they have timporve.

  • Panasonic VS7: no good speaker when ringing,no card slot, camera still no good not deserve name of Panasonic that specialize Digital Camera such as Lumix...

  • act this phone is quite good..but only problem is the ringing tone volume very low...the camera also .. is 2 megapixels but juz like 1.3 megapixels .. the photo look clear because of the 16m colour display only...

  • Panasonic Vs6's users and Vs7 should demand a bringing up to date of firmware to solve the problem that this telephone has to hear ringing tones ( Mp3 ) and to the speaker ( the person than this one the other side of the line ).

  • A link to see photos made for the vs7? His quality I would like contrasting

  • current users - the volume is low - do you mean you can't hear the person on the other line? or they can't hear you? please email me and let me know!

  • better than VS6 but still cr@p *No card slot *Video capture is awful *Low memory capacity *Low quality speaker *BORING! Pros *Good camera & colour screen *Bluetooth

  • i heard my friend says that flip phones like these easily get spoiled... it will pribaly last you bout half a year before the the thing came off ? i mean the flip function spoil... is it true ?

  • I bought this phone about a month ago, and I can tell you all its pros and cons. Pros: 1. Great display, as you already know :) 2. Decent camera. Good quality in daylight and natural lighting, even at evening/morning (did not test it at night), but wrong colors with artificial lighting - either yellow or pink/blue. 3. I think 32 mb of internal memory is quite sufficient for me, it is still half free :) 4. It has IR and bluetooth, both functioning quite well. 5. You CAN upload games through cable! but only after unlocking which can be dangerous to phone. I unlocked mine. Look for instructions in inet forums, I don't remember how. 6. The phone has Java 3D. It has quite good speed, I tested with JBenchmark 3D and Diet3D. 2D graphics speed is excellent too. I think VS7 has quite fast processor which shows in tests. There are many other good features without doubt but they are common through cell phones. I cannot think up anything else at the moment... Cons: 1. The major shortcoming for me of this phone was its crippled GPRS modem. You can browse internet from the phone itself but you cannot do it from PC/Pocket PC, neither through cable nor through IR or bluetooth. I have iPaq with bluetooth and with my previous Motorola phone I regularly browsed inet from iPaq through bluetooth and phone. With iPaq i could run many inet apps simultaneously - browser, icq, irc etc. 2. There is NO SUPPORT for any external flash storage in this phone! Internal memory only. 3. Speaker volume (ringtones) is quite low, especially on MP3. Earpiece volume is ok. 4. There is no support for raw sockets in Java implementation for this phone. I can work with mobile Opera or IM+ (icq) but I cannot use the phone for IRC (chat) or remote desktop access. 5. The bigger top makes it harder to press the side buttons. 6. There are quite a few compatible games on the market (supporting 320x240 resolution and Panasonic phone buttons) and none of them 3D :( Still it is very good phone on the whole and I like it. Pros outweigh the cons :)

  • Very ugly

  • can transfer the files up to 6Mb thru data cable

  • good*

  • Not got speaker you can hardly hear the other person.

  • Battery life sucks.. =\

  • ya...vs7 can store up to 500 smses... can some 1 tell me how to transfer those files that larger than 1mb into the phone??? thankx...

  • my vs7 can hold up to 500 sms as well

  • MADE IN CZECH REPUBLIC! do not buy this: very bad quality. Had a vs6 model for a painfull month. Never again Panasonic. In the east (China, Japan, Korea etc) they have a much better quality control.

  • The VS6 can hold up to 500 sms in the inbox, and the same again in the sent items (which are automatically saved, can be turned off), so if u disable the sent items, the VS6 can store 1000 sms... I doubt they would have reduced this for the VS7

  • apparently the video is absolute pants on the vs6 for a 2mp camera. what about the vs7? someone please answer as it's ergent. thank yyou

  • i also wna find out how many smses can this phone hold. cuz currently i'm using samsung e730 and i can only store 200 smses. please help. thanks!

  • Can i know how many sms can this phone hold...i mean on the phone not on the SIM... Pls help...

  • whatever happened to panasonic??? yes panasonic is a sure wild card in the mobile industry but because panasonic came from japan and yes most of its design are very much japanese theyve expect consumers that are non techie and just after for the call and text feature to buy their phones thats why too less effort can be seen and now bec so many people criticize the way they made their phone theyve stopped and even closed thier factory in the phils making more filpinos jobless... theyve said that theyll just focus in 3g phones but nobody has heard anything from the company... hope they make their move soon and also that this time they make it right and they make sure that the phones they are making are not for them but for us!!!

  • whats wrong with panasonic?in none of the fone they are giving card slot?WHATS UP PANASONIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • to kiyoto.... u said this VS7 is a 3G handset?? i bought this phone but i dun think this is a 3G phone...

  • Can anyone tell me how to make the volume louder ??

  • hmm very excellent phone i bought it a week or 2 ago! Pros: -looks good/ simple design -very nice colours for internal screen -customizable in a lot of aspects even menu key pictures -can read messages/missed call ect from external screen -excellent camera cons: -no expandable memory -external screen has very little colour -the bigger top makes it harder to press the side buttons

  • Yes, actually the Panasonic VS7 is a 3G handset. E-mail if you have any further questions regarding this phone.

  • no this phone is not 3G. This phone does NOT have card slot.

  • just bought this phone from HK....confirm no memory slot....the sound quality is really good....but volume quite low....

  • is vs7 a 3G phone?

  • Many ppl said the volume is quite low. It means ringtone or the speaking volume ?? pls clarify thanks

  • i wont to ask, have this panasonic SLOT FOR MEMORY CARD???????

  • NO MEMORY CARD SLOT!!!I have this phone and iam confirming it. The camera is realy good. I love it. I dont have to have my digi cam with me. Only bad part is, at night. Day pictures come out really good. Awesome screen!Sound can be little improved. Speakers are pretty low..

  • confirm no external memory 4 vs7!!!

  • :eric ...but ... some said that there is external memories leh ... confused //

  • can ask,cos im seriously thinking of buying tis vs7.de reception and audio quality izit ok?or does it sucks?singapore version cfm no card slot?

  • actually the vs7 can very much compare to the k750 and is in many aspects better. If you are looking for a phone to put alot of MP3s k750 is better, but camera wise both is 2.0 mega pixels, however when compared the k750 is a little off compared to the vs7. Look wise of course vs7 is better than k750. Lastly vs7 is more of an all around phone

  • Keat: the building quality of Sonyericsson K750i is much better than the Panasonic VS series. I had a VS6 for a few weeks and found out that it has so his problems. But what do you expect from a phone with these specs for less then 240Eur (250 dollar) new. The used plastics are very thin and gives it a cheap feeling and look. The 16,7colors screen is great but that's all. The 2.0mp camera is not so good as Samsung D600 or SE k750i.

  • hi i'm from malaysia, can anybody tell me about this phone are nice to use? plan to buy this phone and not really sure the talk time and the function of this VS7.. anybody can give me a help pls.. Thanks..

  • I've played around with this phone and the options/features this phone has is great actually, i like the camera. Good quality. But the phone is too bulky for me. Couldn't they have made it smaller and a bit more attractive ?

  • @pei ling =) i've juz bought my vs7 today @ starhub. it doesn't support any external memory n e internal memory allows only 32MB which is a very pathetic storage space 4 me. of course w S$738 w/o plan, it must c/w bluetooth at least. hope i've ans ur quest! :)

  • does this phone has miniSD ? and bluetooth and how much is the price in singapore w/o 2 yrs contract

  • From what I heard, the battery life is pretty good.

  • I bought this phone today and I am kinda not too sure if I want to keep it. I think the phone is kinda too big. I am thinking about spending $30 more and exchanging it for the Samsung SGH-e635. Do you guys think I should do it? Which is better?

  • is the battery life very good or bad

  • This is very good mobile phone I have him for about 8 months when he was still on testing in Panasonic, believe me NO BUGS!!!! VERY VERY NICE!!! I LOVE MY PHONE!!!

  • Why don't have memory card? It is very important

  • It would have been nice if this phone had FM radio, MMC expandable card and perhaps 3G. Does the 16M colors noticablee versus the 262,000 colors of Samsung mobiles?

  • Great phone but the software magement thing is confusing can't seem to upload mp3 on my phone

  • I have T-Mobile and I want to download T-Zones. T-Mobile says I have to delete one of preloaded browers does anyone know how this is done. Thanks

  • it's a qute phone

  • Thinking of getting one of these phones. Can anyone tell me though if you can change the font size ? I need it large font for easier reading of text messages. Thnx

  • What is the difference between this phone and the MX7, I cant decide which to buy!!!

  • Hi I am thinking of purchasing this VS7 handset soon.....but my concern is that it does not have good sound quality. I had Panasonic GD88, I liked it but I could never hear the voices of the people talking to me on the phone well, especially in noisy streets....and the volume of the ringtones, I could never hear my phone ring. My friends (VS3 users) and people working in mobile phone stores tell me that all panasonic handsets are like that, is there anything we can do to change that or do you guys have any problems with the sound volume of your VS7 handset??? (Voice volume during conversation and ringtones)

  • this could have better sales if it had mini SD slot and auto focus function on camera! i know panasonic can do it, i just dont know y dey didn't! Panasonic P505iS has memory expansion slot and was available way back last Nov 2003, and as far as i know it's the first mobile phone to have auto-focus function not to mention it has CCD sensor! mind you it has QVGA display already even way back then, so i don't really see d point y panasonic has sorted to come up with the V, SA & MX series that does not have an expansion for memory. (good work on the battery though) here's the link. bad news (well at least for panasonic fans) for the time being but in the very near future (i hope this year) panasonic mobile will be much better! please see below.. panasonic has closed a number of their major plants that manufactures (2.5 G) GSM mobile handsets around the world and going forward to reorganized overseas mobile operations and concentrate mainly on 3G handsets with Linux based OS! as a result, (if i remember correctly) soon they will not be a series60 licensee anymore, meaning they may no longer make handsets based on symbian OS like the excellently designed X700 in the future.. reasons said were due to severe global competition. here's the full story: some more about panasonic using linux OS:

  • i just bought this phone today, and something bothers me. it's about the auto open function. is it normal when i click the button to open the phone there's clicking sound, and when i close the phone there's also clicking sound. it's anoyying to me. plz somebody tell me is it only my phone or all the user have same clicking sound when u open(using the auto open button) or close the phone.

  • I have the same problem with the color of the xchangeable cover. I like white faceplate rather than the ones that come with the phone!! I really hate the silver one with the stupid design on it.. Please help! Does anyone know where to buy the "Xchangeable" covers online?

  • Does anyone know if all the SMS/text messages can be downloaded to the pc as csv or other file fromat from the VS7? Can they be browsed like in nokia pc suite?

  • Does anyone know where to buy the "Xchangeable" covers online? A Great phone, yes, i'm the 1000th person to say this, it needs expandable memory, but it really doesn't bug me. If i want to listen to alot of mp3's, i buy an mp3 player. If i want a dedicated camera, i buy a camera. Memory space issues aside, this phone does all a decent featured phone should, and does them quite well. BTW, I consider Panasonic's "boring" design a fresh change from all those other phones that try to look so complicated on purpose.

  • Is there any newer Panasonic phone that can handle memory cards???

  • no it does not support external memory but i really wish it does!!!! then 4 sure this phone will rock better than nokia or sony!!!!

  • Yes, u can take photos with flip close. Yes, there's photo calls NO, you can't put card in.

  • can vs7 put card in??

  • is there any photo call?

  • can took photo at the front display without flip on ?

  • There's no difference in camera's and screens between the Vs6 and Vs7.

  • They have the same camera the vs7 and the vs6? Equal quality? Thanks

  • nt bad, nt da best either but decent al da same

  • how do I download photos from phone to computer?

  • i also face problem transfering file that is more than 1mb through bluetooth. however, i have no problem transfer those files with the cable that came along with the package. the camera is great in places that are bright. but in places that are dark and no lights, you can hardly take any photos since it does not have flash light. however, it does have night mode and LED white light (but still not sufficient and not as useful as flash). you can choose to take your photos in any of the 3 modes (normal, fine and super fine). for a photo that is super fine and size 640x480, it only takes space of around 35kb. for the main menu icons, you can attach a whole picture or put different pictures for each of the icons. i like this function. it's fun. Although it only have 30mb internal memory, but for me, it is sufficient for a number of ringtones (not songs). i tried to transfer songs to the phone but i guess the phone only allow you to transfer a song that is maximum 6mb. more than 6mb it requires you to edit the song into less than 6mb. i dunno whether is it only me who face this situation. however, a song that is less than 6mb is successfully transfered into the phone using the cable.

  • What is the real difference between this model and SA7? Only the longer battery life of the latter? Or is the latter also more durable and robust than s7 (doesn't break that easily, basically.)? Or IS sa7 thick and heavy only for the sake of the said longer battery life and "sporty" looks?

  • what a beauty! Only thing missing is the external memory. Other than that this phone is great. I would have to say its a bit weak with funtions, not having much at all. But I got this phone for my girlfriend and she has a PDA, Ipod Mini... so all she really needed was a phone with a nice camera. Auto flip funtion is so nice! Everyone luvs it when they see her phone the phone.

  • C'mon Panasonic,it's time you really came up with Memory Card slot(Expandable Memory) for your higher end phones. Your styling is great,Camera brilliant!Your models are slick and handy. Why be left out just for this sake. Well Wisher

  • How i send games to the phone? and how you change the menu icons?some people in the forums post a big image with all the icons and the menu size of vs3,and a not a single file for each icon,so you can just put all the image,or you have to choose icon by icon?

  • does anyone find the phone camera blurr? i took a photo and transferred it to my laptop and it was crap.... can anyone help? izzit my phone's camera or the whole phone is a defect? haiz... i used my other N70 which was oso 2mp and it was so much clearer(not pixellated) wad shld i do? can someone share some advice?

  • Flash???

  • Hi Melini, Thanks for that..Will get this model when there's attractive promotion running in my country, Singapore. Thanks. Cheers

  • Bubble, The front LCD displays photo call, missed call, even sms.u can get to see who's calling. there's a variety of external wallpaper to choose from. with the front display,u can even read your sms without flipping the phone open. just press the scroll button to read the sms received.

  • Hi there, Anyone can advice me if the front LCD panel allows us to see who's calling in? Thanks in advance.

  • vs7 memory not expanable. not worth the price

  • >chelle Yeah, BT does not really work with computer, but I heard it does only from handset to handset. Btw, you got your package with the USB cable? Wow, mine sure doesnt have one. All I got is the handset preloaded with Sonic and some strange songs, 2 exchangeable plates and that's it. Maybe there are 2 types of package? (I noticed they took off the USB cable from "package include" in the website where I made the purchase. Anyhow, gonna have to spend extra money for my cable >.>)

  • I have had the vs7 for 10 days and I removed the battery to install a different SIM card and now it wont turn on. Can anyone help?

  • Can this phone come in PINK!?!? Sum1 plz tel me! How many songz can u have on ur MP3 on average? How many pxts can u store on this phone?

  • btw, i bought vs7 yesterday. im most surprise tat the phone came along with the usb cable, cd-rom, a total of 3 exchangable cover(screw driver + 2 extra screw), a earphone... i tot the cable are optional one but this is so cool! havin a good phone + cheap price. n guys.. u should check the panasonicbox. which provide free ringtone, wallpapers, main menu icon & etc. but the only prob is with the BT, dunno y i cannot detect my laptop, a BT earphone(motorola) & nokia3230. this is so weird... but it can detected SE T610.. can anyone help?

  • Ramsus: the usb cable work perfectly for me, either mp3s or pics. u can transfer/dl from the handset with the usb cable.

  • what is displayed on the front screen , pic , incoming text and calls ?

  • Hey..Im thinking of buying this phone but can anyone tell me if its user friendly and easy to use? Ive been using nokias ever since i got my first phone and i find that all nokias take very little time to learn to get used to. Im wondering is this phone is the same

  • Does anyone know how to get to the MP3 player? Or is it just in sounds?

  • Hi, I have a problem transferring file greater than 1 MB using BT or IR. Any comments ?

  • >GeneralTJI Since you have an USB, can you please tell me if you can "download" pics from the phone to the PC? I've spent $40 on the bluetooth which doesnt work for phonePC connection and $20 on the Infrared which supports one way transmission (PC to phone), so I want to make sure before I even bother getting USB cable. PS: Anyone knows any avi to 3gp video file encoder software that actually works? I tried ImTOO, which does not allow you to change video/audio quality (and they still show you the options of changing it, funny) and fails to encode 99/100 tries, and then I also tried Xilisoft which was a TOTAL rip of the ImTOO software.

  • I was wondering if this phone has photo call? when someone calls, does the external screen displays the person's picture?

  • Just wondering how many photos u can store on the phone

  • this phone is the best one..good work panasonic.i really love it.The memory is just fine.I can use mp3 player to listen song.I doesnt need it in my phone.N the price is cheap..only one word bout tis phone ===>> EXCELLENT ^______^

  • hii...i was wondering if the VS7 supports audio in video recordings? It'd be frustrating to record videos, without sound. and also, does anyone ever encountered any problem with the reception and audio clarity (heard that the audio quality is below average)....tq

  • I am shocked this phone does not have removalable memory, it could have been up to par with the K750 or N70 but w/o removalable memory it is limited and a step lower

  • vans, Oh, very simple only, just open the photo funtion, when it work, u direct close ur flip, and it will show it on the small screen at outside, so u can take a photo for ur own self lor.....easier rite?

  • hey. i am wondering if it can take pics from d outside? as in can u see ur faces from d outside small screen?

  • Well, the VS7 software very hard to use it, dont know what fight what, damn boring to R&D it...better direct using short cut way to do everything. S'ware and Cable dont know want to do wat...H'ng....

  • Hello! Im considering buying a VS7 but I wish to know first if there are softwares like unit converters and world times that could be downloaded to the phone to complete it. Does the phone support this kind of download?? does anybody know where I could find this kind of software for download?? Thanks, everybody! Renata

  • hi just got it and i think it's a great one. has anyone had a problem with the sound/video recorder? it seems to record the file and save the sounds as amr. files, but i can hear no sound coming out. the same with video (it's silent). do i have to convert it to another type of file through the software? doesn't make much sense. (the mp3 quality is more than decent for a phone and there's no problem to download from the PC) any help? thanks yl

  • Ramsus, i've got a VS7 from HK and my fone also came w/ lots of deletable thai songs so i'v also been deleting them 2 gain more space...as for transfering the pictures over i've done them through my PDA via IR on2 an SD card then using a card reader 2 upload them to the PC...i haven't got the USB cable nor the software yet as the VS7 hasn't even been announced in Aus yet so i spose i gotta wait till my next trip back to HK or wait for Panasonic Aus to release the data cable for the VS2/VS3 models, whichever comes first...

  • Maybe I'll get a USB cable... The only software I got and using is the one that came with my Bluetooth. No software or anything like it was included in my VS7 package (there shouldnt be one i guess). Btw, was it only me or this phone is preloaded with "deletable" thai songs? Because mine has several and I erased them all to free some memory.

  • Ramsus, This probably won't be much help... but I thought I'd mention it anyway. I have used my VS7 to transfer files between it and my V3 Razr (two SIM cards of course). And to a friend of mine's phone. That worked great (Bluetooth) But to connect it to my laptop etc I've just used the USB cable. It's fast and works great. Try using that... (not as cool I know!) Are you using the supplied software when you try to connect them, I don't remember, but I think the software they give you is for the USB cable and Bluetooth?! (not sure) I might go check this out and see what I can find

  • Majestic, The last couple posts said to be posted by me, were not from me... my actual real last post was 2005-11-17 06:48 Someone keeps posting under my SN and bashes the phone... Grow up, seriously, thats pathetic! I stated the few little issues I'm having with my VS7... and what could of been better with the phone. But I also explained this is probably (so far) the best cell I've ever ownned.. it is awesome, and EVERY single person that has seen it has gotten excited over it and told me they think its awsesome. So far, nothing but an all around positive experiance with the VS7!

  • Just got VS7, cool phone and all, but I'm having a MAJOR headache with its bluetooth feature. In the instruction booklet, it clearly indicates that you can send/receive picture, video and sound clips etc. between bluetooth devices on page 107. I followed the instructions step by step, also spend $40 CAN for a bluetooth and successfully paired my laptop with my cellphone. Here comes the problem, I cannot access any folder on my cellphone and they wont display either on my computer. All I see are Headphone Audiogateway and OBEXObjectPush. I tried connecting my cell to laptop, it's a success like 1/5? And everytime it connects, it automatically disconnect after only 2 seconds. So I went to search for help online at the Official website and noticed a line which is totally not true: Main menu>My Media>[any]>Download. Where is/are this folder called Download? Only options I see are Stored[media type] and [Create new]. And so much for customer service's "Contact Us" option which just drives you to another and another webpage and never gives you any contact number or E-Mail... In other forums, lot of people are having same problem and they all gave up and bought themselves a USB cable instead. Did anyone successfully transfer files via bluetooth to this phone? I really want to know how you worked your magic. Overall, this phone is really good, just that the instruction manual cannot be trusted in certain areas such as this one...

  • GeneralTJI, u r actually mistaken there is a loophole for a strap..it's situated on the back of the fone top left hand corner...that little cutout...

  • The buttons are small and you'll find your wrist and thumb aching severely after typing a few sms messages and fiddling it... Good speaker sound but the phone doesn't capitalise on it to any extent. Honestly - everyone keeps saying the size of the top half is worth the trade off for the excellent screen - but the bottom line is the phone doesn't exploit the large screen to any extent! I'd rather see them trim back the screen size by a few mm to make the phone look more neater and streamline. It's almost like forking heaps of money to get a brilliant large plasma tv that can't play back shows. Get the point?

  • Sorry no loophole for strap and video recording goes for less than 30 seconds with severely crap quality. Not really a chic phone either cause of it's size (sorry to be sexiest) - My sister borrowed it for a few days and she returned it saying it was embarassing to use cause it looks so big. with only 30MB shared memory I don't think you'd wanna go recording too many videos either - you'll find yourself constantly deleting mp3's and pics just to make room for more things that you want to store! So annoying! The software is great! But the low memory really trades it off. Sigh!

  • why the upcoming panasonic hp dont have the expension slot? function gd oso no use.

  • i have a W800i and it's great. my sister would like to buy a cellphone just like it but we both don't want to have exactly the same cp. so we were looking for another one that would have the same features. and we found this one and MX7. unfortunately, MX7 is not available in our country. like others, i think this phone would be better if it has bigger memory so we could store more MP3s and pix. nevertheless, this phone has good features for its price. so i think my sister would get this one for herself. i really love it's flip open design plus the fact that it has 2MP camera and has MP3 capability, bluetooth, infrared, etc. questions though for those who have it, how long does it record video? does it have a hinge or something where we could tie in a hand strap for security reasons? thanks so much.

  • Ok, that last comment posted by "me" (GeneralTJI) was not actually from me. I don't charge my VS7 everyday, and I use it a lot everyday. I have been charging it every other day and sometimes every 3rd day. Battery life is good... as good as my V3. I have no complaints about battery life. It's seriously a good phone. It is of course not perfect. Right now, I am having a few issues... I am in the US and on Cingular, and for some reason when I get a voicemail, it doesnt come in under the voicemail icon telling me I have a voicemail... all I get is a TXT MSG containing nothing but the @ symbol. I can't find any settings to fix this either.... weird. The earpiece is faily loud. Its not the loudest I've heard.. but decent. And I;m picky and like them loud. People like to complain its too big, but thats what it takes to have a 2.5" screen! It is a tradeoff... the screen is amazing, and so is the sound quality of the ringer. VS7 owners: TRY THE SOFTWARE PROVIDED !! you wont have to pay for ringtones, use your mp3's, edit them to the part of the song you want for a ringer, and send them to your phone with the PROVIDED USB CABLE and you will be amazed.. they sound good.

  • you know panasonic should make a 3G version of this incredible phone... :)

  • I got this phone! My first impression was wow. screen is very nice and bright. The phone is not very ergonomic unfortunately due to the fact the top half is larger then the bottom. Here is my real complaint and if possible i would like to get it fixed. The ear piece is really really low! I mean super low, I can only hear people in low noise environments. Is there a hack or a TTY mode on the phone to increase the ear piece volume?

  • Due to the bright screen - the battery life is incredibly short!!! I have to charge it everyday when I get home. Very annoying indeed!

  • Majestic , Thanks u teaching me about how to make loud the mp3 into phone , so far i not yet try it...coz today just saw ur message to me. I try to test ASAP ..then tell u is it works ok ? Thanks ...MUAKS.!

  • how the battery life of this phone?? i read from newspaper review say is the battery life too short.

  • Just trying to comfort myself. Here are the true negatives about this phone. 1) The top screen section is larger than the bottom section. So from a bottom up view - the phone looks very untidy. Like the engineers forgot the trim it back. 2) The camera on the outside is styled in an ugly fashion. Looks more like a well for getting water. 3) The eject button is very hazardous - it's in fact hard to grab a hold of the bottom when its flipping open which can cause you to drop it! Esp. since the top half extends beyond the bottom half. 4) The video recording quality is lousy. 5) Great screen but the functionality is at the level of lower end models - therefore the phone doesn't capitalise on it to any great extent. 6) There's no specially tailored function for MP3 playback. It done via a rather lousy sound file playback function. 7) The camera can be used with the phone closed but the button to take the pictures is extremely small and nonergonomic. 8) There's no card slot - which means after a few photo snaps and mp3's the memory is basically gone. Therefore the 2MP camera is made rather redundant. Good cameras need to backed up with heaps of spare memory - unfortunately this phone lacks it. 9) The USB port - don't be fooled. You need the Panasonic USB cable - not the standard ones you use on digital cameras and other phones suchs as the more recent Motorola ones. 10)I guarantee you'll drop this phone due to it's poor design.

  • Actually they were crazy for making the top screen bigger than the bottom button section! It makes the phone look rather stupid bottom side up. They should have cut back on the screen size to make the phone look more neater and elegant.

  • Use the provided CD and USB cable. It comes with some nice software for editing mp3's, midi's photos etc and uploading them into the phone (or downloading them from the phone to your box). The software is nice, the MP3's sound GREAT on the phone!!

  • hi, anyone know how to upload mp3 to VS7? currently i'm only able to use voice recorder to record the mp3. pls help! ty!

  • content for panasonic phones!

  • The base is in fact heavier than the top half. If you set it down in the middle, it will tip down the way it should (base down, screen up). The top half is a little wider than the lower half down towards the end (away from the hinge). Boring? This phone has a button you push and it filps open on its own... I don't find that boring, actually its been very useful. It has a lot of bells and whistles.. And I am suprised someone is complaing the screen is too big and too bright?? LOL... This phone is loaded for the price...

  • I have this phone and I must say the design is just down right terrible. It very big and clumsy. The top part of the flip is larger and heavier than the bottom part making it extremely awkward to hold. The screen is brilliant but honestly I don't see the point of it being so bright and big. Besides the good camera, the phone is just incredibly boring. Did I mention it's a lot bigger and more clumsy looking in rea life?

  • I believe that most of the people out there that don't even own the phone know it doesn't suck. Quit spamming this review area with BS. I have had some time to play with my VS7. It isn't perfect... but this is probably the best and "coolest" phone I have owned yet (so far). And I guess I am a phone freak. I just finally got the Internet and MMS set up last night. Found some settings online for Cingular and now it works! I'm not sure how I managed to get the dark grey version (but I'm glad). And I don't know if there is any difference between the silver and d.grey ?? I bought it new on Ebay, for about $300 plus shipping. It came with a USA adapter in the box.

  • This phone just plain sucks, besides the camera and having Sonic installed (yes, like the original one on Genesis :) ) The phone is garbage. Very cheaply made, no extra memory, LAGS almost as bad as the RAZR... for the money, go get yourself a K750i or ANYTHIGN else... for now I like my K700 better.

  • psmith, for names and addresses + "things to do" yes...make notes...not too sure...i don't think there's a function on the Panasonic that can do this...i know that the Sony Ericsson phones have this function...tho the Panasonic can record voice memos... san, from the Panasonic website...they have a little media section for your VS7...otherwise google is ur friend... yup...use a audio editor or something similar to normalise the mp3 file and increase the volume, keep an eye on ur sound level meter (if available in the program) so that the bars should constantly be in the red area but not sound distorted through your headphones and it should be loud enough i think... not sure coz mine didn't ship with a cd...but it's useful if you want to connect ur fone 2 ur computer via a USB cable...

  • Well, get the phone last few days, was founded that the phone hv little of ringtones, where do i get more ringtone match with my vs7? and why when i put mp3 inside, the voice so smaller, got any idea for make the mp3 louder, and one more things is that the cd software that provided got use or not ?

  • Thinking about buying the VS7. I like to store names and addresses, write "things to do" on specific days and to also make notes too. Is this easy to do on this phone. Thanks, Paul.

  • in terms of camera, i think it's pretty close to what u see irl...the K750i's camera is probably slightly clearer in terms picture quality due to the autofocus system..but the VS7's not bad for wot it can do...if you want the best camera on a mobile atm u'd have to look @ the Sharp 903SH...

  • Andbern, yes the colours of the phone really do depict what you see with the naked eye imho...the colours on the phone's screen are really really nice...it kicks any mobile screen out there that i've used or seen so far in terms of colour reproduction...I have tested the N90 prior to buying this but it was way 2 big for my liking plus it lacked a vibra-alert which was odd for a Nokia...in terms of size that thing was a beast, about the size of my old SE P910i when it was closed....i mean it was prolly a good phone cept the i didn't like the size...now for the W800i (i also owned the K750i prior to this fone and now my sister's taken it off me)...it has a great camera, memory slot and awesome bluetooth connectivity (which is expected from SE)....only problems were the screen's a tad small and the speaker's not very loud....the vs7's back being smaller than the front does annoy me a tad bit but u get used to it after a while not really a big issue there...

  • Majestic, about those pics you took, in your honest opinion , not just cos its your phone, do the colours on the phone actually depict what you see with the naked eye?

  • Thanks majestic for the quick reply, i saw the .iso thing on the pana website *5 : Also does it bother you at all that when you look at the phone from the bottom the flip is bigger then the back? Lastly have you tried any other competing mobile that is currently out at the moment and how does it compare ( mainly with n90 and w800) the reason i ask all these questions is cos i really want to get the best mobile i can possibly get , i dont really care about features other than a kick ass camera and bluetooth hehe

  • oops...typo...[super hearing ears]

  • hum...maybe what nx said is true...maybe I just got a bad copy of this phone. or maybe my last phones volume is too high..Lol...or maybe this phone just sux..I don't know...but anyways..this is my first time buying Panasonic phone and the result is..Never again..Lol...I ain't no Pana hater or Samsung lover. I try all kind of brand for the fun of it and test them. I find this phone's price is a lil too expensive for the value. If u guys love it...good for u.....and Larry...I think u need help. some kind of therapy. maybe u got the super hearing hears...or maybe u live in the village where there's no surrounding noise or something..Lol (oh yea..I wasn't talking about the ear piece..I was talking about the speaker volume)

  • Great phone(camera, and other specifications )!! But i think that phone needs more space (just 38Mb, it is very little for our needs nowdays).

  • inez... the keypad backlight is a white type of colour...u can see it in my photo here : and no there is no miniSD expansion slot... Andbern... this phone DOES have bluetooth but no memory expansion. the VS7 and MX7 are more or less exactly the same fones...only the MX7 is thicker and last longer coz it has a higher capacity battery...and yes u just get ur mp3's from ur PC and put it directly to the fone...i don't kno where u got the idea that it needs 2 be an image .iso file from but that's not the case...just simply copy the mp3 on2 the fone and select it as the ring tone...

  • oh , one more thing is it possible to take mp3 straight from my computer and set them as tones or do i have to first convert them to .iso files?

  • hey, i am really interested in buying the vs7 but i am confused by all the user opinions on various sites . Does this phone have bluetooth? And how about some sort of memory expansion? And finally what is better this or the mx7? the sooner i know this the sooner i can run off and buy one hehe

  • can anybody tell me what color is the keypad light of vs7? n there is no card slot for xtra memory card, am i right?

  • but from practical point of view, other than photos, is there other that could use the 16M colours ? such as icons or system colours ?

  • Which one is better VS7 or VS6? I read somewhere that for VS7, it is in Approx. 16 million 2.5 inch TFT Colour Display only for JPEG and camera/image only and other formats are in 65K. Is it true? Source taken from :

  • eey general TJI from where did you get that dark ones vs7 i live in usa tooooooo

  • can any one tell me where to get them from ive been asking around phone shops and thay we wont be getting them we get better phone such has d600 and nokia n95 any website guys any shop in uk im confused

  • Well I bought one. And it came today. (USA) This phone is awesome. (with the exception of the charger being out of country) I recieved one of the "black" ones.... the inside color is dark just like the outside cover... is this version different from the ones that are silver inside? Anyway, I didnt use it for long, since I can't charge it yet. But everything worked good (Cingular) .. calls, msgs etc. Seemed to get fairly loud... not sure if its as loud as I hoped yet (will need more call time).. but its got great sound!! and what a screen !! can hardly wait to use it some more... really makes my V3 seem like a POS (and I liked it pretty well, lol)

  • i have to say that working at phone dealership, the worst phones we have had have been any of the panasonics. we have had so many back. they r a real problem.

  • In my previous message I was referring to the the panasonic which I like much better.

  • Just got the VS7 this past weekend. I love it however, the sound on mine is not as loud as my old Nokia 3650. I live downtown Chicago and work near the L trains which is above ground, so I need a phone with a loud speaker since this city can be really noisy. I returned my x700 very low ear sound, however the vs7 is much better, but not as good as the old Nokia. I love this phone better. It's a lot cooler looking and the calendar is awesome, the camera is great, and the extra outer covers were a great bonus!!!

  • I totaly agree with this latest comments below.I bought a Panasonic VS3 because the VS7 dont exist here in Portugal, i never had a Panasonic phone before, but when i first saw the phone in my hands, i found it amazing, that solid and compact construction, that screen with real image.....realy convenced me to buy it! I had a sharp gx 15 before and i loved that phone but now with Panasonic, is realy a huge upgrade! Why does everybody buy european phones like (nokias, SE, etc...), probably the main cause is the propaganda of those phones, because if you people go to Japan and see what phone they have, you probably will see many more people with panasonics, NEC, or even Sharp. What i regret is this phone be a Vodafone Live, so the sonic game dont exist, because Vodafone simply erase it, in order to force us to buy games at a price of 3!!!by the way do you now any web site so i can download it? The only problem here is to find acessories, is realy hard, and Vodafone dont sell... Its a shame that VS7 doesnt exist here in Portugal, i would have buy it, because of the use of Bluetooth, but the VS3 takes care of the job , and so far its doing it great! Congratulations Panasonic for this wonderful phone, is realy beautiful

  • I don't think he hates Panansonic, I just think he got a bad phone because I know some of the phones's volume and speaker vary from each phone but I think he went overboard by saying it was garbage because the phone is really good for its price. Panasonic is doing the right thing, I mean who really needs 1GB of memory on a phone so mini sd or no mini sd is good enough for me as long as there is enough to store a few photos plus maybe a few games to keep me entertained and last but not least...reception ;p which im positive this one beats the VS3 in because I've read that it isnt that great on the VS3

  • That's right Larry. I don't think he has the phone, and probably he is a Panasonic hater. I love Panasonic. To me VS7 and SA7 will be the phones of the yeas, along with Sharp 903. I'm waiting for SA7 to be released, just because it has much better batterry capacity. And did I mention that Panasonic and Sharp phones have the lowest price? The only reason why Sharp phones are slightly more expensive than Panasonic is because theyare UMTS phones! Well, I respect Panasonic stragedy, which is: We don't need to produce 3g phones yet, simply because 3g Network (which I believe is mainly manufactured by Ericsson) is a total crapp today ( bulky , slow video call, and slow downloads).

  • Hey Jin69. Why don't you shu.. up with you B.S. review? People: Don't believe him as he is a total liar and probably another one of those Sony or Samsung fans. I have vs7 and the ear piece sound quality is excellent and loud! Screen quality is awsome too. To top it all, the ring tone quality (not sure whether it is polyphonic or MP3) the most beautiful and loud of all crappy American GSM phones. Gin69: Why did you come here with this B.S.?

  • Rumors have it that the next batch of phones from panasonic will be equipped with mini sd card slots and 2mp+ cameras...of course the 16M color screen will be retained as well...and their design will be based on the P902i offered by Docomo

  • ...man...I just got this phone a week ago...man..I can seriously tell u something..I was really dissapointed...this phone wasn't what I expected....the only cool thing about this phone is *the CRAZY crystal clear screen...the 1 click flip...2mp camera* all the rest of this phone is garbedge....not enough memories...not use friendly...buttons too small and if u hide the nice screen...the key pad itself looks like the early 90's phones....crappy..Lol...and what is wrong with the speakers...the volume is SOOOOO low and the ringtones???? why is the volume so LOWWWW????....seriously....this phone wasn't worth the money I spend on it.

  • Why cant i have bluetooth, a mini sd slot and a 1.3mp (or better) all wraped up in a panasonic phone. It seems you can only have one or two of the above. Other manufacturers do it (Motorolla V3x) so why cant panasonic. I currently have an x700. Sue it has bluetooth, mini sd, but guess what, a crap camera.

  • expandable memory is only thing missing for this phone to rule and trashed nokia's stupid phones

  • Bigger means: 1)2.5 inches screen (like on new best digital cameras) 2)Loud ringers and loud earpiece sound 3)Mature look, and looks like a phone!

  • It is bigger than the V3/V3X

  • TO: GeneralTJI -Sound quality is the best of all cellular phones (even better than on Nokias)and as great as on my old Panasonic x300. X300 and VS7 have very good bass and loud, smooth, clear sound. -Batterry life is decent (3 days standby and about 4 hours talk time) -Ringer sound and ring tones are of exceptional quality (again just like on x300) Loud, smooth beautiful and clear ring tones (This is a general Panasonic brand!) -Reception is normal (like on all phones it depends on the carrier) Over all it a 5++++ star phone Excellence of Panasonic x300 but with improved design, excellent camera, and slightly better battery life)

  • For those who have the phone: - How is the earpiece volume? - How is the ringer volume? - How is signal? - How is battery life? Thanks for your time in posting!

  • Mini Sd? Mini Sd? Mini Sd? Mini Sd? Mini Sd? How many times will you ask this stupid question? There is no Mini Sd and it sais clearly in the phone's Specs! 32mb of internal memory is enough! This phone does not have an optical zoom or some other camera's features. That is why to take 30-50 photos is more than enough for this phone. And yes, this one is the most beautiful, durable and reasonabel phone! The only camera phone that is slightly better than this phone is Sharp 903 (due to its optical zoom, and 3mp resolution)which has your favorite Mini Sd. So if you need Mini Sd, then buy a Sharp903 which is also a great durable phone!

  • MiniSD slot isnt under the battery?

  • Thanks majestic all i needed to know.

  • nodo, internal memory is max of 32MB (good for about 30 odd pictures at highest reso and super fine setting) 30MB is shared and 2MB is for MMS...and no unfortunately there isn't a miniSD slot...

  • heloo!!! can someone tell me about memory of vs7? Does this phone have a miniSD slot or no. and if no how much is its internal memory. thx in advance

  • hey ppl, i took this picture today. i think atm it's probably the best indication of how good the camera on the VS7 can be :

  • VS7's speaker is loud, but speakerphone isn't. It's really hard to hear the other person unless you turn the phone around where its speaker is located. I also use t-mobile USA and i live in So Cal. The reception is great, plus the internet works, so that's a plus. hope this helps

  • to vs7 fan, now that we know the reception is good, what carrier are u with. im in tmobile usa. so u think tehrecption with this phone will be good in new york. and second is the call volume and speaker volume loud? I remember my friend had a panasonic phone and the speakerphone was very low and hard to hear. I wanna get this phone so i need to know. Does anyone knows what store has the best price?

  • one more thing, the PC software (which you can download from panasonic website if you don't have it), is very beautiful and easy to use. I use the cable more than the bluetooth. Great job Panasonic!!

  • I have been using the VS7 for about 2 weeks now. My personal opinion of the phone is that it's a very good looking phone with a good amount of features. Also great built and quality, above average camera (you really have to learn to take the pictures with this phone though...), ok quality mp3 player, beautiful screen, great reception (T-mobile USA), and once again, REALLY BEAUTIFUL phone. The USB cable depends on where your phone is from. In my case, my VS7 is from somewhere in india, and i don't have the usb cable and software, but i have the blue stripe faceplate. The VS7 from China or possibly other places have the usb and software, but have the red squares faceplate instead. The phone works perfectly with T-mobile Web. The included headset isn't that good for listening to music, but is very sufficient for talking. Bluetooth works fine, transfer files, headset, all works fine. infra-red is very useful and overall performance is great. User interface is SUPERB! I love it so much more than Sharp's and Sony Ericsson's. No lag, easy to use, straight-forward and efficient. Anymore questons you can ask me. I l'll try to help you if i can.

  • hey guys, Stan the reception on the phone's pretty good. I think it's pretty much on par with my Nokia and Samsung phones i've had in the past and slightly better than my Sony Ericsson K750i. The BlueTooth connectivity is a mixed bag, i've had trouble transfering files across to and from it but i've figured out a way to do it now so it's all good. For those of you who want to kno the VS7 needs your BT stack on your PC to support "OBEX File Push" Profile for file transfer so you have to send the file to the PC from the phone, you cannot just "browse" the phones files like you can on the Sony Ericsson mobiles. As for transfering to the phone via BT i haven't tried that yet as i transfered small wallpapers via IR on my PDA to the phone. I haven't tried PC sync yet so i can't tell you sorry. But it works well with my Sony Ericsson Akono HBH-660 BT headset, very clear and have had no problems with it so far. Just pair the devices together and connect to the headset and away you go. Unfortunately it does't come with a USB cable (well i didn't get one), so you have to go buy it seperately but i haven't seen any retailers stock this as yet. So i've been transfering my pictures via BT. Gone Mad to answer your question about "photo call" did you mean like caller ID with a picture of someone that you've assigned to the number? if so then yes the VS7 has photo call. if this isn't what you mean please tell me and i'll be happy to answer any other questions you might have if i can.

  • So i'm really looking into this one.... How is the reception as stated before? How is the bluetooth connectivity? Good with pc sync? What about headsets? That's my biggest feature that i want is bluetooth.. How's the bluetooth interface? Thanks for posting those pictures...looks nice. Does it come with a USB cable? How have you guys been transferring these pictures? USB or Bluetooth? Thanks for any responses.

  • First of all big thanks to "Friendly" guy who posted so much useful information about Panasonic's digital technology. Secondly, big thanks to "Majestic" for showing us photos. The photo of the sky and then the photo of a green flower show how sharp and color truthful Panasonic's camera is.

  • How is the reception on it? good or bad?

  • uh...i have a picture of the keypad of the new NEC L1 taken by my VS7. You guys can check it out. link is below

  • i've only taken 4 photos with the phone. look mate i kno you want to see but fact is i don't have time to do this amoungst all the exams i have to do. i WILL make a site for a review on this phone myself soon just wait till i finish my eams then i'll post up my review. link to the 4 photos here :

  • NOW I'm really Mad!!!! I didn;t ask you guys to give me Chinese links. Also, there is only one photo of a kid's toy! You kids, claim that you have the VS7. So what's up with Chinese links then?! What's a matter? You are so selfish that you couldn't create a free, simple homepage and upload the photos taken by VS7 and show it to us? That's why I already know, most of you are B.S. us, cause you don't have a VS7 phone. Period!

  • Oh, forgot to mention. After all these innovations, Panasonic will without any doubt create an optical zoom for Mobile cameras with a real flash ( just give them one year, and you will see by 2007 Panasonic will release a total replacement for 3mp, 4mp, 5mp digital cameras ). Just remember Panasonic takes things slowly and reasonably. That is the main reason why vs7 totally answers to its features! (because not overloaded like Nokia , Samsung or Sony.)

  • VS7 is an amazing piece of art work and high performance. Panasonic Mobile will overpass even Sharp mobile (Sharp 903 is the only phone bytheway that takes better photos than VS7) by 2007! QUESTION: How will it happen? ANSWER: Do some research Sony Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung lovers. 1) Panasonic has very recently developped a supper advanced new type of sensor for digital cameras in feature 3mp+ cellular phones. The sensor name is Maicovicon, not CCD or CMOS. 2)Maicovicon sensor will be installed into 3mp+ camera phones. Due to its smallest and thinest size, Maicovicon sensored phones will be no thicker than VS7! (might be even thinner!) 3)Maicovicon sensor has its own anti-shake technology which functions the same as O.I.S. ( Mega Optical Image Stabiliser ) which is Used in all new Panasonic/Lumix digital cameras! 4)Maicovicon anti-shake function means: even if you hand is shaking while holding the camera phone, the photo will come out cristal clear ( just like on all Lumix cameras). CONCLUSION: Sony digital cameras were more advanced than Panasonic , but not anymore (especially look at two new Panasonic cameras : FX9 and LX1) and you will be amazed. So, since Panasonic is becoming more advanced in digital cameras than Sony, then it will be also more advanced than Sony Ericsson!

  • hey bao i think the phone does have a macro mode, just look under the screen. www.sogi.com.tw/park/content.asp?a_id=858 this is the site with the comparison pic with w800. here is another site that i can't read, but they do have nice pics

  • I think I saw the same comparasion as you, I haven't seen pictures of it when it's dark but when its bright outside the pictures look great just search around and you'll see. I believe the comparison was on a chinese site.

  • it's not hard to find photos taken by this phone. Just search around abit. I must say that the photos are not bad at all, considering it does not have autofocus and macro mode. I saw some comparison pictures of this phone and the SE w800i.

  • I totally agree with "Gone Mad" user. When will we see photos that are taken by Panasonic vs7? After all, 2mp camera is the main feature of this phone and yet everyone who has claimed that he/she owns the phones hasn't shown us any photos. How come?

  • COME ON DUDE: Give us a nprmal link (if you are not about B.S.) to photos taken by vs7 QUESTION: Does vs7 has a photo call or not? (I will really go Mad if it doesn't!)

  • w w w . u s e r s . o n . n e t/~ k y l o r i /O t h e r/M o b i l e P h o n e s t u f f /P a n a s o n i c V S 7/ *hint* delete the spaces (1 space) in between the characters and words...then copy and paste that URL into your browser...

  • Gone Mad did u mean photos of the phone or taken by the phone? if it's the former then i'v got a few on my webspace : if it's the latter then i'm sorry but i haven't had time to do a full review of it yet so u guys will have to wait for the time being.

  • ok, gone mad is back here and still screaming out loud: please, if you are seriously own this phone, then: show us photos! show us photos! show us photos! show us photos! show us photos!

  • I think that this phone doesn't let you send stuff via bluetooh/infared over 1mb. I have tried various files and it doesn't work. The guy that I bought the phone off told me to try using a USB cable. Has anyone tried sending stuff over 1mb with the USB cable?

  • To Mark Chan, I have the same problem. I am also with T-Mobile USA and the roaming icon is on. Its anoying as I keep thinking something is wrong. I'm still trying to research why this is.

  • ok, i've bought this phone and its great. but i have 2 complaints, which are both related. Bluetooth. This phone has bluetooth, but when i connect to my comp, it doenst let me receive anything because 'this service is not available' what does that mean?!!? USB- since the bluetooth is such a hassle, im waiting for the USB cable, which they dont include and is not out yet. anyone kno whats wrong with the bluetooth? i tried it with a mac and windows, and still the same result.

  • I'm so disappointed with the no card slot design. Which I mean I cannot store too many pics and music in it. What a pity!! Still a good phone I think.

  • this looks like a great phone. i can't wait till i get it this week. it's come in but i have to wait for it to be cleared by customs. -_- once that's done and i have the phone in my hands i'll do a mini review and post the link to it here for you guys to see.

  • Great phone! Just got it yesterday and everything works fine. But I do have one question for people who owns the phone. The Roaming Icon keeps showing up on the screen and I tried to do a manual search for my network and did not work(T-Mobile)...But aprt from this, VS7 is a must get phone~

  • thanks for telling me that i can take self potraits via external screen...hello gsmarena, why not have a review on vs7?=)

  • I love the design and the capabilities of this phone I would love to see those pictures taken by it.

  • Its pretty good. I bought this phone a week ago. I'll post pictures here when i have time. Yes you can use the external screen to take self portraits.

  • does the external screen allow us to take self potraits?spore is out already, selling at $630.

  • This phone can stores up to 100 photos.

  • WHAT IS THE RESOLUTION OF THE VIDEO?352 X 288 like Sam. E720 or D600?It has memory card and Mp3?Pls someone tell me!!!Thank you!

  • Question: how much memory is needed to store aprox 100 photos on a camera phone?

  • Kazura: As the previous reviewer stated, 30mb memort for a phone that doesn't claim to be a basic digital camera, nore an MP3 player (for example: Sony ericsson w800 claims to be a basic MP3 player, so I'm happy for it and its 512 mb memory card). Panasonic only uses 2mp camera and MP3 function as an adding to the high quality phone. So stop bi...ching about card slot folks. Be happy that as a phone with the feature and qualities that VS7 has, it has a very reasonable price!

  • By the way, this holds more than 50 photos and it does have a photo light which I found works much better than the dinky flash systems put on most cellular phones.

  • NO card slot! What a garbage! Shame for Panasonic!

  • I was almost going to buy this phone, but I didn't. It has only only 30mb memory. It's not just for pictures. It also can play MP3, but I can only store few songs. Everything is good, but no card slot.

  • I'm TIRED OF YOU GUYS CONSTANTLY ASKING B.S. TYPE OF QUESTIONS: -Does this phone have this piece of sh...t? -Or is this phone available in Zimabwe? -Or does this phone have a joystick piece of sh...t? -Or does this phone have a photo call piece of sh...t? -Or does this phone has games (total sh...t bytheway, lol) ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! EVERYONE: START screaming out loud with me to all vs7 users: Show us photos!!!! Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!Show us photos!!!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!!Show us photos!!!! So, now we will see how many guys are b.sh..ing us about having this phone!

  • hey guys... U guys were talking about this cell for so long.... but i thought dat this phone wasnt out yet.. IS it available now?? cuz i read on yahoo dat it says panasonic VS7 will be out october 17th.. so really wanna know if it is available now thx ^^

  • TO ANONYMOUS: Thank you for informing me about the card slot. ANYWAY FOLKS: 30mb of internal memory (considering the low 2mp rsolution) can store at least 30 photos. Now since it is till not a basic digital camera (no flash, no optical zoom, etc...), 30 photos on your PHONE is enough (unless you are a time waster, like most of the new generation is). NOW, TO GQKC: Excellent point you made! In my opinion and from deep ovservation, all phones that are overloaded with some things, are missing the needed things. IN THIS CASE, Panasonic took everything slowly, reasonable and did not miss a thing. SO NOW WE HAVE: -Excellent, large and high quality scree -Nice solid phone look -I'm pretty sure that sound quality is excellent too ( like on my previous Panasonic x300) -And reasonable camera NOW, anonymous: Can you place the photos that you took with the phone here? Me and others would greatly appreciate it!

  • i think panasonic is just trying different things....not all phones should have card slots....theres always a disadvantage to a phone. example...SE S710....great phone a great quality....but 1.3mp camera......SE K750i....perfect phone with great camera and everything....but display is small....see where im going at folks? Plus...i honestly think this is a great phone...from what i heard...and its JUST A PHONE!!! you use it for calling and answering you calls....not to listen to mp3s and all that B.S......sure it great but its gotta have limits.

  • I have been waiting for this phone for so many months. I'm just curious, the whole no mini SD slot, is that a factor i need to worry about? 32mb memory, will that be enough for a 2mp camera phone?

  • I have had the VS7 for about 1 week and the VS3 for about 2 weeks. Both are the BEST phones! I love them. Unfortunately, there is no MiniSD card slot... however, I did find that it stores MORE THAN ENOUGH things on it. I've already racked up as many ringtones, videos and pictures that I could possibly get my hands on. And the software that came with the VS7... IT'S GREAT!!! It allows you to transfer pictures, make your own MP3 ringtones and allows you to transfer/edit video. Any questions about these handsets??? E-mail me at [email protected]

  • Yes but open-minded do you actually own the phone yourself? I do and I can tell you that it does NOT have a card slot, despite evidence to the contrary on - I must agree with you - a lot of websites.

  • STOP ALL THE B.S. here! Eevery website that sells this phone states: It has mini SD!!!!!!!!

  • Has anyone tested the camera? Are the pictures clear or reasonable for a 2mp phone?

  • Why does panasonic always alter their phone info? If they were'nt able to calebrate the memory card to work with the phone , they shouldnt have announced it at the first place.

  • just got this phone...it is great. the display is amazing.

  • tats so stupid no card slot panasonic sappose to make sd slot and yet they dont have it on such a good phone.. are they just stupid ? they prolly just lots tons of customer my opinion i would of bought this phone if it had card slot ill rather have them take out bluetooth to replace with card slot retarded panasonic

  • good grief! is panasonic deliberately trying to help the competition??? how can it make sense for them to remove the sd card slot? come on, panasonic. why is it your phones have to make an annoying change to what u had announced? with the x800, u changed the camera from 1.3 megapixels to 0.3. and now this!!! and if u choose not to have the sd card slot, why cant u follow samsung and have a huge internal memory to compensate for it? i am flabbergasted. i have been waiting the "7" series phones for so long and now u drop this bomb!!! this really pisses me off!!! and what is this i hear about the limitations of the bluetooth function???!!! sheesh and double sheesh!!!

  • U know, cellphone camera will always be worse than a real camera. Because SIZE MATTERS. I'm not going to tell boring things about the minimum size of effectively working photodiodes, optical resolution of physically small lenses and simple optical systems, level of precision etc. Just believe me - a 180$ 3,2 mpix Canon A510 makes better shots than ANY cellphone camera including Samsung 7mpix CDMA models. And 300$ 6mpix Fuji F10 makes better pics than any cellphone will make in any near future. So DON'T ever compare cell cameras with real full-size cameras. Cameras in cells, even those with lotsa megapixels and optical zooms are crap. Slow, ULTRA-noisy crap producing awfully-looking photos with wrong colors, distortions, and blown highlights. Even "ultra-compact" cameras such as Sony T series or Casio SD series (that are actually crap too) are WAY better than any cellphone camera. For 3 mpix a camera should hav 1/2.5" sensor at least. And preferrably some serious optical system as well. Size and weight of the smallest lens and sensor that can produce photos that don't make everyone laugh is so big that it is ABSOLUTELY uncomparable with the size of a cellphone. And there will not be any improvement in this in the next few years, because some REALLY serious scientific breakthrough is required to make effective optical systems smaller.

  • MOBILE CAMERAS ============== One thing that really annoys me is this constant comparison of REAL Digital Cameras vs. Mobile Digital. THEY ARE THE SAME THING. Both use a CCD or CMOS sensor, have a lense and capture pictures for crying out loud. Remember the first Digital Cameras that came out...they were 1.3 Mpx, 2.0 Mpx, and so on. Of course mobiles are not as good as a SLR or even a decent compact camera. The lenses are still to improve. But the V903SH (Sharp) has created a new level of mobile photography with optical zoom and auto-focus...just like a REAL camera. The latest cybershot's from Sony are no different to a mobile phone. The lenses are tiny, have optical zoom and produce just as good pictures! It's all merging. WHAT YOU USE IT FOR =================== After all, it depends on what you use the images for. I use them for the web and to print them into standard images. And it is plenty for me. My 802SH does a good enough job for web pics, and still good to print them. @ Open-Minded ============= Btw, the N70 & N91 use Carl Zeiss lenses too. Wait another year and the words Mobile Photography will have a completely different sound... skater42

  • TO SKATER: I agree with you about the screen quality. But I think that is still not bad, even if it is a software (since you mentioned that Sharp does it too). I just like vs7 for its huge screen, convinient keypad, solid look, and good earpiece sound ( smooth, with anough bass, and doesn't get distored when on the high lodness level). I definitely agree that Nokia phones in everage are more durable ( as phones) and I hope that these new Panasonic phones will show no software problems and high durability ( we will see in six months from now). I also agree that Sharp 902 camera is slightly better than VS7 (to me though it is still not a replac3ment for a basic 3mp Panasonic or Cannon camera). But I don't like Nokia N90 (No vibration, and I strongly believe the Carl Zeiss over there is a gimmick, other wise why they didn;t put the same lrns in n70 model? Or why isn'r Sony Ericsson using them? ( Sony dig. cameras are all equipped witth Carl Zeiss).

  • Panasonic VS7, the speaker sux, the camera have problem that take everything in yellow colour unless under sun, the ringtone not loud enough, poor battery life, the bluetooth for only files within 1mb, signal is so-so only, internal memory without card slot maximum take 50+ photo in greatest quality.

  • @ Open-Minded (how funny) ========================== What do you mean by "rip-off"? There is nothing special about this phone either. A 2MP module ain't new and I hope it isn't an interpolated 1.3MPx module anyway... No card slot, that is pretty lame. A resolution of 2MPx produces large images, up to 1MB per photo. How are you supposed to store that? And btw...the information on here must not be correct, the official Panasonic web site doesn't mention a card slot, or an MP3 player function. Screen Quality ============== Don't be fooled. The screen itself only supports 65k color (source: panasonic web site)! It is the software that produces the 24-bit colors, but ONLY for JPEG. Similar to what the SHARP GX22 could do, 262k for JPG images. The rest is in 65k. But thats ok, because this is how every LCD screen works anyway, software needs to be there to push those colors. PANASONIC vs. SHARP =================== Panasonic and the rest of the manufacturers have completely separate goals. Panasonic makes affordable, middle-class mobile phones! SHARP and partly NOKIA produce high-quality, upper-class handsets like the V-Series (V802SH, V902SH etc.) and N-Series (N90/91, N70). These cannot be compared to Panasonic. 2.2 and 3.2MPx modules with in-built optical zoom is a serious advantage that no other manufacturer can currently offer! Panasonic is good, but ain't the best. skater42

  • Finally, the first 2mp phone that is not overpriced ( since this is not a replacement for 2mp digital camera), unless yo ugo to a favorite welectronics site. PROS: -Excellent 2.5 inches screen of a high quality! -Good ring tone and earpiece sound quality -Solid and mature phones look! -Decent batterry life! What else do you need from a phone? (remember 2mp without optical zoom, flash and basic camera features is not a magic) That is why all other brands such as: Sony Ericsson k750, Sharp 903, and especially Nokia n90: All of them are simply rip off!

  • hey.... just bought my vs3 because my vs7 really sucks.... im sorry for the company but your not as good as nokia....

  • If no card slot is available, how much RAM id on board??

  • People in Hong Kong got their phone already. No card slot. Confirmed.

  • the manual form FCC clearly says nothing about sd card, so it doesn't have one, capish.

  • Hi! to whom it may concern: If you see the pictures carefully theres a slot for mem card on the side....so there must b a slot for mSD.

  • oh yes you're right Michael, just visited Panasonic's site this model doesn't have any memory expansion like mini SD or anything... disappointed with this one, hope next year Panasonic will really make mobile phones with expandable memory, fm radio, 2mp or higher resolution camera with flash, mp3/aac, etc player with support for playlist of course with bluetooth too, plus maybe use symbian 9.1 as their OS not to forget a 3.5mm jack for standard stereo earphones! by the way SA7 doesn't also have mini SD slot!

  • Not going to be available in Europe? What's up with that!

  • go there, it says it does have BT and everything else. Why dont you people do a little bit of researching of your own about phones rather then complain on here it doesn't have this or that. If you can make it to this web-site, then you must be smart enough to go to the manufacturers website to check out more specs. USE the internet to its full potential!!!!

  • Bluetooth for VS 7 as stated but no mention of expansion cards, even for the MX6. Disappointing though.

  • Stupid phone! VS7 had card slot and 2MP Camera. But its hadn't BT and Symbian OS

  • that's so great phone. i would like to know how much is this phone cost. can you let me know as soon as possible. Thanks

  • For those who can read chinese --> The Panasonic vs7 support Bluetooth but no memory slot, the MX& do hav the bluetooth func n support memory card slot -->

  • i have read the official manual, that should silence u.

  • What the... no mini sd... Then how to store a lot of pictures and mp3s...

  • i heard that the interface of this phone sux alot..you have to go through many steps juz to get to the sms page...izzit true for this phone?

  • no mini sd, bluetooth yes, taken from manual.

  • so anyone got more reliable info on this phone? i am really put my hopes on this phone as i lost faith in VS2/3/x800 phones already...:(

  • there was "bluetooth" showing under the camera properties before, now it was removed. Maybe panasonic confirmed that it didn't have bluetooth, no body know until the phone is out. Also most of the spec info in this site are not confirmed, so they can be changed anytime.

  • check different sites mate, od not rely on just one.

  • it does not state that it has bluetooth. show me where u see it.

  • i think you might be having illusions. pls highlight the section to me where it says the word "bluetooth"... besides, there was someone who said previously that all VS phones do not have bluetooth...

  • are u blind it says bluetooth clearly there, i think u mean it has no mini sd

  • Basically this phone is much much better than x800 as i've said in the post. This is like a dream phone to me EXCEPT for 2 features which can still be improved on! 1. Bluetooth!!! Where is the bluetooth to share with your friends when you have such a good camera?!? 2. Design. Basically due to my personal taste or preference, i feel that there should be a newer design other than flip phones as you see VS2/3/7, x800 etc all have the same design except for different colour, come on, you can do better panasonic! i will be waiting for your good news!

  • 2.5 inches display? WOW! So far not even every digital camera has 2.5 display (only the very new ones). 2.5 Display with 16m colors, plus 2mp censor, will trully make this camera-phone one of the best selling items. Also, keep in mind that Panasonic has the most reasonable price on average, comparing to other brands!

  • Someone asked if it is going to be CMOS or CCD camera. Well, MX6, SA6, VS2, VS3 are all CMOS. But remember: They are all 1.3 mp So, lets hope that 2mp SA7, MX7, VS7 will use CCD. So far only SHARP is using CCD lens in their phones!

  • does the VS7 have an english-chinese bidirectional dict? pls help...

  • what are the inbuilt games

  • Brandon, 2MB for MMS and 30MB for user data and preinstalled applications does not add up to over 600MB in my books.

  • Looks like 128MB SDRAM and 2x256MB flash ROM total for the device, as well as bluetooth.

  • how do you setup the unlocked VS7 or any other panasonic for that matter to access the internet in the US of A ? :)

  • its has no card slot has already try this phone. 2mega pixel indeed is good. Has a 2.5" LCD screen which is really large. 16 Million colours (16,000,000) that make it almost like a TV screen. Support midi, mmf, mp3. Internal 32Mb memory. Can sync with outlook on its calendar and contacts.

  • i think it will cost somewere arround 550 usd

  • yes, the VS7, SA6, MX7 and one more model to be released are blue tooth enabled.... With the 2.0 mega pixel camera and 16 million colour resolution screen technology, such a perfect combination allows you to have the best of both world with absolute sharpness, clarity & vibrancy when taking photo and displaying them as wall paper.... really a camera phone worth waiting for...

  • vs7 is not a 3g phone

  • all the panasonic vs phones don have blueltooth

  • Experto, I would just like to point out that I think you are crazy in the coconut. Who confirmed it already? You and a small, but devoted group of eskimos? Just enough for taking pictures? Sure but don't have it as an MP3 player, a video recorder, or run lots of apps/games at the same time. It has a screen saver and you think this makes up for the other short comings? My god, please see comment about coconut above. This phone is not 3G so I don't see what the point of your last comment is. This phone is one that I was looking forward too, and it HAS to have mini-SD otherwise it is a waste of time as a multimedia device.

  • Yeah..!! We confirmed it already, that the VS7 has no SD card slot..But it doesnt change my intention to buy it..bco'z it has a built in 32MB capacity just enough for your habit in taking pictures..and I found out that it has great capability of the screen saver, same as your computer...really nice...The 3G leader really comes in your way...Panasonic..great ideas, How they built a phone with super thin plus plus the features...most phone in the market right now is super thick, so bulky looks like weapon to me..ewww....

  • Is it sure that VS7 had only the built in 32MB?Or have more?

  • Nope.. NONE of the VS series have Memory card slot..

  • There are rumors about the VS7 WON'T have any memeory card slot besides the built in 32MB all over the APAC region. It would be the best if Panasonic can clarify that. People have gone nuts about this in Hong Kong since somebody said it would almost cause HK$4200, around USD$500-600!!!!!

  • hi..i want to confirm the VS7 sure have Card slot for miniSD ?? pls answers me.. i'm Hong Kong people..so english so poor..

  • when will it be out in singapore??i saw the vs2 but saw this vs7 on this web..and vs2 doesnt has bluetooth which makes me abit sad and dont intend to get it..anyone know around what price will this cost and when will it be out?

  • just like to ask a simple question... is VS7 a 3G phone??? if it is really hope it will bee out soon can't wait any longer... Thanks!!!

  • are u sure it would be out in october in singapore? wonder would it have pink. cuz this fone seems to be the same as vs2 onli it had an external screen which make me lov it even more..

  • Panasonic got the superb display! Saw this phone in real action in CommunicAsia, and can't wait till it launches!

  • Why are Panasonic phones so ugly and boring, I just played around with a x800 and it sucks, Panasonic needs some major help in designing phones

  • use ur eyes kichmar, it says it uses miniSD cards for memory. But, i'm wondering what the limit is of the memory, 1 gig perhaps?

  • Panasonic VS7 have excellent functions... but I couldn`t found anywhere how big is his memory, and does he can use MMC card or some other memory cards! Does anyone knows??? I read that this Panasonic will cost about 350 EURO. Croatia!

  • Cool!!! this is a phone that i look forwards to. But will this phone be release in singapore??hope the price wouln't be to high. i'm currently using a panasonic phone for close to 2 years already, and have been waiting for something impressive from Panasonic. can't wait tosee this phone in singapore.

  • i just got an email from Panasonic Holland and they said that the VS7 will release here in October. SO IM EXTREMELY HAPPY, GONNA BUY THIS :PPP

  • Here comes the leader of the 3 G phones I am very much amaze they could apply the 1.6M in the display same as your computer monitor capabilities to display more and detailed color of your picture..how nice... I'll give 10 for that! Plus the durability...I was a nokia users It happens last time I was using it and someone hit my arms and dropped that phone "nokia" it shattered and I pick it up from pieces to pieces, how disgusting. I like panasonic now...especially the upcoming models VS7 I cannot help to wait and buy it.

  • Heyyyy....dudzzz Nothing is cheap this time..you want cheap products? They will give you cheap quality. You can use maybe a month then say bye bye to your cheap mobile and your money too.. Choosing Panasonic product you surely satisfy. durability, ease of use. etc... So if you want no HEad ache on your phone stuff leave them all and get panasonic....Trust me its guaranteed.

  • i can manage my phone without a memory card. i can also manage it without a camera, mp3 and 2,5 inch screen. i can buy panasonic gd96 for $50 and use it very successfully. i can also buy a better camera for $250, better mp3-player with FM for $100 and better flash-drive for $50... so i will get way better quality for the same money. and walk like a new-year tree with all this stuff hanging on me. they should either make a good all-in-one device or dont make it at all. thats what i want to say. in this condition (mp3 and camera but no memory cards) it is absolutely useless as all-in-one device. and badly overpriced as a phone-only device.

  • I think the price of this unit will be low, you will not expect that the price of this caliber is very cheap. Interms of mini SD slot. Your right that phone needs that for pic, camera & tones. The phone has 32MB phone that i think enough for storage. There is so cold PC manager that you can download your file if you already have too many pics or you can also develop your pic in any kodak branch. Interms of ringtones, you will not use 50 tones at a time, u can still manage your phone without that. What I'am trying to say the Panasonic Phone remove the SD slot to reduce cost without affecting the major factor for a mobile phone. It is best with SD card but expect a higher price.....lol

  • If you read the specification that GSM Arena generously put up for you, then you will find that it will have a MiniSD slot. This phone is practically a mini laptop with it's 16m 2.5 inch screen and 2mp camera. Panasonic has 2 new phones out so far so for those of you who keep asking when it comes out; there is no need to keep asking because it will be real soon.

  • I'm hoping that when released there will be a miniSD slot, seriously you need memory to store all your photos and the option of being able to listen to mp3s will definitely attract more consumers to purchase this mobile phone. If it indeed has miniSD, then Panasonic has made a very all rounded phone. I'm hoping as well that the firmware won't experience as many problems as the recent batch of released mobile phones. I don't understand Panasonic makes phones for Japanese company NTT DoCoMo that are so much more capable and well featured than their mobile phones released to the rest of the world. 16M display is very appealing however the package doesn't seem complete without external memory storage support.

  • I own Panasonic X70 now. Keep the price low? Heh... Low price and Panasonic? Never. VS7 will b over 500usd when reelased for sure. For what? In what respect (except the screen quality) is it better than SE K750? 200 bux for screen, design and Panasonic logo. And loss of memory cards, radio and Sony logo respectively. Why does a cell need memory cards? 2 mpix photo takes up about 1 mb. 1 minute of mp3 takes up 1 mb so 10 melodies and 20 pics = phone is out of memory. Just stupid... Sorry.

  • VS7, MX7, SA7 series has Bluetooth and infrared. It will be soon released, maybe Sept '05. Actually im using it right now. Currently on trial stage & under reliability stage to ensure quality here in PH. That's one factor Panasonic is one of the leader company in the world because of it's quality. Ask your friends if they have the GD series phone (like GD92)Ask them how durable it is.I can assure you its very tough. I already throw that phone intentionally in a woooden wall & drop it several times but still working up to now. Yes, it has a biggest display and not only that, you can use the whole 2.5 inch display for your wallpaper. 16 million color is the same with true color of your computer so display is very very good. Unfortunately the phone has no memory card. In my opinion, adding up an SD card means additional on its price. If i want to use the MP3 feature of the phone, I rather buy a mini mp3 flashdisk type player that coz around 3000 PHP. Much better quality on all branded phoes with MP3 features. Other user want a complete package on the phone ( video, 1.3 up camera, games, MP3, SD & etc) but they dont want to supper to much on the price.... Ha ha ha...... nothing is cheap. You can get all of this feature in cheaper price but not good quality. It has a memory size enough for your pictures, video and other application. This phone focus more on its camera & display. One thing more, on this phone you can customize the logo of the menu. You can chnge it with your photo or celebrety pic if you want.( Its very cool). The design of the keypad is also the trend in japan right now(keypad is japanese design).... easily can grip and the key are not too close to each other so very easy to use.

  • It has no bluetooth. No memory cards, no IRDA and no bluetooth. I refused to believe it but now i got a hard evidence from Panasonic themselves: (page is in russian) Here goes a translation: "VS7 model has a biggest (2,5 inch) display among all the clamshell-design phones. SA7 is done in a sporty style with doubled battery capacity and MX7 additionally has bluetooth". So only MX7 has bluetooth, but in europe they will only launch VS3 in 'early autumn', VS7 and SA6 somewhat later and the rest of the series... They dont mention. Probably never? Because on russian website they first made an announcement of all the series (VS, SA and MX 3, 6 and 7) with a page dedicated to each model. But later on they removed everything except VS3, SA6 and VS7. So most likely Panasonic will only release 'empty' versions that hav nothing worth notice but a camera and a screen.

  • you can find phone that are rare in devon avenue in chicago.

  • Very EXPENSIVE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • not to flame, but do any of you people speak english? its difficult and frustrating to read through these comments. my brain now hurts and my iq has dropped about 25 points. the phone looks freakin sweet though!

  • Does anyone know where this panasonic vs7 phone can be found in the United States? Please let me know. Looks very classy and powerful

  • With TV analog pal receiver and fm radio tuner it should be complete! Does anyone know some cell it has tv PAL receiver and fm radio tuner in american market? NEC N940 and other cells in Japan market are NTSC receiver and don't work in countries that receive PAL signal.

  • Hi People. I heard that Pana VS7 n VS3 hasn't slot card. Is that true?

  • ive been looking all over the london and asking around for this phone and other types of 16 million colers phones i'm just confused in till i find out thay dont do it in the uk noooooooooooooooooo

  • Panasonic VS7 has bluetooth. I love this smartphone. It has 2.5 inches main lcd(diagonal).I can't wait to see how this phone can display 16 million colors. It also has infrared like VS3.it also has color sub lcd which you can change.also, menu icons can also be customize.(images from my files). It has photolight to make pictures clearer even on dark areas.

  • Everyone please take a look at the resolution.

  • I'm waiting for this stuff. Now i have GD87 and i think the Panasonic is a class producer of mobile phones.Where will be at EU ?

  • I'm wondering if this amazing thing will come to Uk

  • Amazing phone, I'm hoping to get it in Japan in a few months.. To answer someone about the "flash", you should really look closer, because (atleast for the VS7) you can clearly see a flash beneath the camera.

  • panasonic is always a company who noe how to ply safe instead of being more aggresive to push more new concept n ideas of design.. while they been success for their last flip fone n they keep coming out the same designs.. but abit of diff specs..not worth compare.. just buy panasonic fone wid medium specs n cheaper wan LOL

  • HMMMMM, very interesting: How come VS, MX and SA series of Panasonic phones don't have a flash? What is the purpous of having 1.3 or 2.0 MP Camera phone if it does not have a flash? QUESTION: -Is the flash simply missing in the SA, MX and VS series phone descriptions? -Or do these Panasonic phones have a new type of technology that offers a night mode that replaces the flash? -Worse of all, could it be simply a gimmick by Panasonic? DOES ANYONE HAS ANSWERS for my questions?

  • VS 7 has Bluetooth, but not IR. Got even answer from the german Panasonic, that VS 7 will be launched in august. Unfortunately no comment about the price. It's a moot point whether the models MX 7 and SA 7 will release on the European market, maybe only in Asia.

  • Best mobile, but man just tell me where to find the blue tooth

  • who said that VS7 doesnt' hav bt(bluetooth)...actually i don't believe that is ture...but also i don't positive guarantee that VS7 has BT.

  • The Panasonic VS7 has not Bluetooth...:( It's bad, but true:(

  • Does anybody know the main differences between VS7, MX7 and SA7 ? When will be the release-dates of that three models?

  • the only difference between VS7 and MX7 is that MX7 has bigger life battery?

  • Status Coming Soon !! which mean you cannot find it anywhere yet!

  • This is a lousy phone!!! Don't buy it!! Its design is horrible.. Panasonic phones are not comparable to Nokia and Sony Ericsson phones!! They are too back dated!

  • it looks quite gd im juz dissatisfied wif the design of keypad

  • can you choose danish as launge?

  • Erm... The keypad is rather small and ugly...

  • To MIK: Yes, MX7 is about 1cm thicker than VS7 because it has twice larger battery - around 1600mAh.

  • is the mx7 thicker than this one?

  • Success! Panasonic has done well here... I am eagerly waiting their arrival in my store. Maybe this will fill the post GD88 void. Fingers crossed.

  • Hi Guys, This is not smart phone, it has bluetooth, mp3 player and as far as I know it will be launched in Autumn 2005.

  • I like the look of the buttons - they look like they'll be easy to use even with my big thumbs! I had a Sony Ericsson K700i and I had to sell it because the buttons were too close together)

  • huh? it looks very functional to me. i like panasonic designs because they are elegantly simple. oh well. to each his own!

  • YUCK ugly....so much space between the buttons n the screen, also the buttons suck ugly + they too old skool

  • is this 3G phone? means when u call A,A's phone is 3G,then both of u can see each other..thanks

  • Hurry up-Panasonic! Sony Ericsson already releases 2mp camera phone (k750). Can't wait to see 16 m color Panasonic vs7!

  • Panasonic really annoy me because they build an a mazing phone like this but then they take forever to launch it. They could really be the brand leader in mobile phones if they put more effort into getting things out quickly!

  • well, i dun really like the design of the keypad....anyway this is a great phone. i wonder when this phone will come out.

  • panasonic site with 2005 models

  • Hi, do you know when this phone will come out in France and Switzerland ? Thanks.

  • hey u guys, i really like this phone but can anyone tell me if this phone plays mpeg files? THANKS ^-^

  • when will this be released in europe? tell me asap!

  • when will this fone come out?

  • When does this come out in australia!!?? plz let me know asap! thanx ppl! :)

  • i like the design direction of the latest Panasonics. very functional. the flip phones are thin (19mm) and have large 320x240 screens. how did they do it? amazing. does anyone know about the operating system? is there a video player? mp3 player w/playlists? stereo headphones?

  • man thats alot of colours 16m it doesnt seem right, but anyway its a pretty ugly phone, hopefully that makes everyone step up, i still like Samsung better and dont like Nokia anyway

  • Yeah it's great how panasonic have taken the challenge up to the other manufaturers. For a long time they've been arguable the best mobile phone in producing JPhones (Which will not work anywhere except japan if you were wondering) but finally they've unleased their technology of Jphones onto the mainstream market as well as the sleek looks.

  • did i hear right 16 million colour screen? dats pretty impressive this handset looks crackin! nokia and others i agree watch your backs panasonic are gonna cut u down with this phone... 1 question whats the memory like can somene tell me

  • Well, Samsung and Nokia must watch out for Panasonic and must step back quickly. Finaly we see a brand that decided to end up low qualified Samsung and Nokia products. Surely Panasonic will become # 1 IN GSM WORDL AS WELL AS IN 3G GSM. PANASONICE RULES and there is no question about it. Give it another 2 years and Panasonic will have either optical zoom 3-5megapixel camera phone or will advance the digital zoom on megapixel camera phones (which is more likely, due to everything must be small and convinient)to the point when it overcomes the optical zoom by quality. PANASONIC- KEEP the good work. Don't let any con specialists or agents to possess your brand. Panasonic FIRES! Samsung, Nokia and similar ones, your time is over!

  • brilliant phone!

  • it comes in a few colors (can't remember where i saw photos) and it has interchangeable face plates. anyone know about the OS? is this a smartphone?

  • does this phone come in silver?

  • I have got 3 panasonic phones so far...... would like to get one more......^_^

  • WOW!!!! Go Panasonic. Panasonic never paid much attention to cellular phones since they had so many other products in which they are the best and known as a worldwide leader in electronics of all types. Now, all they had to do is think a little how can they overtake a cell phone market and beat the samsung or sony ericsson, and possess the 3g GSM, AND HERE THEY ARE!!!! VERY SHORTLY PANASONIC HAS PRODUCED some of the best models of the cellular phones!!! They didn't start from 1.3 megapix like all others did, they started from 2.0 megapixel. And they started 16m color screens!!! PANASONIC WILL BECOME A LEADER OF GSM AND 3G GSM! GO PANASONIC!

  • Very cool phone!! i hope Panasonic uses an OS for it..like the ones in x700/x800.. in that case..it would really be a phone to beat.. i sure hope this thing comes out real soon..it would be such a bummer if it wont.. cant wait to have this.... ;)

  • perfect size, nice screen.. but where are the apps? games, mp3 player w/play lists, video player?

  • Really am interested in this phone!! But can anyone please confirm on whether memory card, bluetooth support and mp3 ringtone are standards for the phone?? Bluetooth must have both data and headset support, unlike my sharp gx32 which only support headsets....:(

  • Nicest looking phone ive ever seen.

  • does anybody know when these phones will come out? thx a lot

  • does anybody know when htese phones will come out? thx

  • Lets not compare to the v3 that is the cheapest crappiest phone ever.... screen sucks, only vga, 5 megs of internal memory(no external) and receptions sucks..... this is a slender 2mp 16 million color screen phone with mp3 player and mini sd support... nothing like the v3 and deseires to be bigger, plus if you didnt know bigger is in no, llike shap 902, v800, 6680. and this phone is very thin for all the stuff it has and the screen is much bigger the v3.....

  • Yeah yeah the talk of the town great display of this phone is a catch but Hello! I mean when is it gonna come out? I dont think it would be out so soon,do you? probably the end of the year ot next year even worse.

  • its massive opened! bigger than razr v3!

  • 16M means 16.000.000 colours display

  • This is a nice design! Panasonic design the bad models then before. I think Panasonic's will attack the Europe Market in now. I have one question What means for 16M colors?

  • Does Anyone noe whEn the phone will be release???

  • These new phones from Panasonic have great screen and camera capabilities, but they should have done better keypad, it looks pretty old

  • Hey... did i see right? does that say... 1600*1200? wooow it's really something.. Latest Nokia has 1280*960 ...this one already 1600 ? Cool! Anyway.. the phone is super! and i hope panasonic reaches the top ! Has anyone seen a photo resolution equal or better anywhere? post to me @ [email protected].. i'm really lookin' forward to buy one of those ! th8X ! cee ya !

  • MS7's battery is more long lasting than VS7. Of course, it would be thicker, but it's more suitable for those who always taking photos or those who need longer standby time.

  • VS7,MX7 and SA7 are symbian phones?and what are the differences between them?

  • both have BT, but VS is tri-band but MX not

  • what is the difference between VS7 and MX7?

  • Don't loose hope, ditch out more for the MX series, they would definity have BT!!! the more you pay the more you get\

  • i mean vs series

  • y u know there is no BT in VS service??

  • Hey GSM Arena, please update your stuff: The Panasonic VS series Do NOT have Bluetooth: this a huge default. With BT VS7 would just be the best phone of the year... :-((

  • So it's not the best compare to the top HP on sale in Japan!

  • This phone is ment for the European market

  • The best Japanese product is always kept for their local consumption!

  • This is the best camera/video phone to date. Its like a portable camera in a phone. It has all the popular features and I like the USB (cuz I love to connect phones to the computer and mess with it). Obvisouly it has to have Xpandable Memory theres just no way a phone like this could be made without it. On the downside, it will be pricey.

  • does it have bluetooth?

  • a lot of japan's cell phones are not featured in this website as i think they are only for sales in japan.

  • most of the japan cell phone companys make very good cell phone. there are more cell phones in japan which are very good but unfortunately for sales in japan only. i'm glad we have these new cell phones from panasonic which are like those they have in japan.

  • Is this a phone or a camera im confused...

  • 16M colors display? Is this true? It's gonna be expensive!

  • VS7 can support mini SD? it really or not.. Who can help me to define..

  • This will be my next phone!

  • It Is the greates phone i ever see..... But something that i hope it can improve, that is features Symbian OS!!! If the phone have this features, sure it will become the most best!!! Panasonic i trust u..... (",)

  • Yes!!! this phone has bluetooth and expandable memory! this is the best phone ever. 16 million coulors, bluetooth, minisD, 2mg camera and 2 screens. This is indescribable, wonderful! i'm getting this, oh yeah...

  • amazing.

  • what is a symbian OS? can someone explain to me pls? and does this phone have bluetooth, how much space it have? answer pls.. =)

  • does this phone has bluetooth help me i really wanna learn can you imagine 16,000,000 colours 2 mp aND NO BLUETOOTH

  • The new phones include MiniSD card slots so you can rest assured that PANASONIC isn't completely stupid. After all I think there is something called Market Research and they won't forget you guys. cheers, skater42 PS: Get the info off their official web site.

  • cum on !! ode sti shp hav external card slot? or juz some pathetic internal memory?? pple pls be more sensible!! dont juz assume tis is a gd hp

  • A Phone should not big like Nokia phones or small as samsung x460, it should be light weight and medium in size and thats what Panasonic has done and thats why panasonic is a leader

  • The Empire strikes

  • looks stunning, and that screen 300 candela (is that how its written?) panasonics TV technology in a phone!! magic. and forget Symbian and BT, I've got both and after messing about for a couple of months I can no longer be bothered, battery life is a pain. Give me a phone I can use , that looks great. i think i've just found it.

  • Who sais this phone doesn't have Xpandable Memory? Just cuz it doesn't say it on the PRELIMINARY SPECS, doesn't mean it WON'T have it. Think about it, 2MPx phone couldn't make it unless it had at LEAST 32-64MB of base Memory. Which would be plenty, wouldn't it? Has anyone got some official specifications? cheers, skater42

  • i think expandable memory is basic equipment 4 this fone, i dont think panasonic will do that kindaf suck thin that makin a 2M fone without expandable memory....

  • [edit]

  • hello, wake up... it doesn't have bluetooth or expandable memory... that's not very good is it. i love this phone but without bluetooth and expandable memory its going nowhere!

  • At least it can compare to the samsung 5 megapixel phone now that they have same colour... Samsung still got a bigger screen though...

  • 16 million colours in a fone...! IT almost 32bit.. but only 16 though.. but this fone rox... 2 mp!! Camera.. tats cool. I think this fone has bluetooth also... should be.... I LUV THIS FONE!

  • 2.0 megapixtle thats 2million pixtle camera, and omg 16 million colours in screen and photo, ohhhhhhh kool phone

  • With Panasonic VS7,Where is the bluethooth and what about the Symbian OS???? This two features is importent..... I hope VS7 will got it!!!

  • I think this is my next phone!! 12M is 12 million. what time will it on the marker!i can't wait !!

  • why do the last 7 panasaonic handsets look allthe same on this forum?

  • slick, 2.0 megapixel camera. more info can b obtained here

  • Like what i said, u can get more than 65k display but without OS , the v ,m and s series are not a smartphone u cant put any new application/third party app, although great in resolution & camera ,they r an advanced high class clamshells

  • i am in love with this fone, got the x700 but this one is da phone to have. anyone know where can get more specs?

  • bye-bye nokia forever

  • It would be sad for panasonic if nonne of these new phones doesnt have either OS Bluetooth or even card slot..about D500 And this phone I would choose this one 16million colors hmm thinks about this 0.7Mpx I think do matter:)

  • whats 16m colours is dat more dan 256,000 is it 16 million

  • wow 2mega pixel!!!

  • Really great phone, but nothing is said about bluetooth and operation system????

  • it's a gd phone but how much memory it have? i wanna buy D500 but this phone also gd.. compare VS7 and D500, D500 will lose because of the pixel,colour,MP.. anyway, is 0.7MP alot? i dont think so. which one is betterr? D500 or VS7

  • if it has expandable memory, this might be my next phone. how's panasonic's rep in the mobile phone world?

  • I can only see one problem with it, it is a clamshell Apart from that, great phone

  • the most amazing phone out there. 16 million color screen, phheeewww, geez. this is the last phone i will ever want. no more looking for the next generation gadget
