Samsung A257 Magnet - User Reviews

  • bought this sgh-a257 for a friend and now can't figure if we can download her music to it and play. Is this even possible doesn't have sd card slot so I'm not sure

  • Internet browsing unable also video save/ play unable

  • I happen to own this phone and you do not have to have the data plan. If you get the data plan you can access the internetetc.

  • Does anyone know if this phone requires the data plan?

  • Good battery, drops calls, no internet, piece of junk!!!

  • ok, i should i get this phone? Or not? somebody give me some good advice, and HELP me! PLEASE

  • this phone is terrible. drops calls. and hardly sends message.

  • I just ordered this phone. Kinda nervous about it now after reading some of these comments

  • Slick Pad, bright screen, simple interface, clear sounds, not for advance user, but for people living the casual life, Greatly recommend this handset!

  • well crap, i just ordered this phone, should have looked into it more, i got it through gophone, can i send it back if i dont like it?

  • awsome phone love it

  • Okay, so a bit of a hands-on review based on the A256 (The same handset, but for Canada, and it's in Blue). First of all, the QWERTY keyboard is "okay" for normal use, and does well for texting purposes. It's still far too small to type quickly, however, so it's not a replacement for the BlackBerries. Second, the screen, while physically large, is very small in terms of resolution (220 x 176), and since it's in "Landscape mode" instead of 176 x 220, MANY Java apps will not be fully usable because the bottom portion of the app will be totally cut off. Only apps made specifically for 220 x 176 will work, as well smaller resolution apps (128 x 160, for example). Lastly, don't be expecting much features. It's a barebones "dumb phone" that works well as a phone, and as a PDA (Calendar, Task list, etc.), but that's about it. Trying to play any decent game or run apps on this handset is a pain, due to small screen AND due to the extremely slow CPU and low RAM (certain apps simply won't run due to insufficient RAM, such as Opera Mini 5.2 Beta--Opera Mini 4.2 works fine, however). I got it for free as a gift, so I can't complain, but I would highly recommend to NOT purchase this handset!

  • This is a good phone for texting and talking, I do have to shake it sometimes to hear. The problem I am having is they advertize it as having bluetooth connectivity and IT DON"T! I called AT&T and was sent another one and it don't either. I called Samsung and was told that it only does Bluetooth head set. I say if you want to be able to connect with other phones to get ring tone's then DON't GET THE MAGNET. iT ALSO WON'T ssave number's to address book.

  • this for market indonesia

  • This phone looks cool and all but teh only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a card slot and so small memory space...

  • is this phone a good phone?

  • It has a VGA camera (640x480) and no video recording. The quality of the camera is ok in sunlight and when not taking a pic of things in the distance. The camera feature of this phone is NOT its selling feature. If you want a phone with a great camera...or even a decent camera, then this is NOT the phone for you.

  • Just sent this phone back to AT&T. It works nice enough and the sound quality is great but the back cover assembly is kind of chinsey. It became loose after about a week and would sometimes pop off...but more often than not it would just feel loose and click and grind a lot when you used the keyboard. It is a small thing but became super annoying.

  • heyy.. cnet says it has 2mp camera & video recording, also microSD slot.. who is the right one? does gsmarena made mistake when write this?

  • I believe the smartphone will be nice, I don't need too many feature, except the IM messenger and email.

  • There is a specified price at the spec sheet!

  • nice phone! i think will be cheap one!

  • Nice phone for messaging and calls and is relatively thin at 12mm!
