  • Best amoled ive ever seen in a smartphone. Sharper than my a70. Color reproduction is great. Buy it for its display. The performance with the p20 chip is ok but not for pubg.

  • For me the Mediatek chips is quite snappy, this is a new generation Mediatek, long gone are the lagging issue with Mediatek chips, in fact the GPS is blazing fast, (note older generation Mediatek has GPS issue but this P22 definitely no such issue) Well the phone get Oreo isn't it ? I rather Samsung delay the Pie update, as many model has issue with the Pie update namely A8 as well as A7 2018.

  • Regret buying this phone. The poor mediatek chip on the phone feels laggy. No even a single person make custom rom for this phone. I sure this thing won't get any pie update because of the mediocre mediatek chipset.

  • Also, it's now running on: Android Version: 8.1.0 Samsung Experience: 9.5 amongst other things. Here's to hoping to receive OS Upgrade to Pie (Android 9.0) soon

  • 32GB is acceptable for me, as i don't store many game in my phone, i only install important apps. For photo & video i can store in SD card, So i don't see there is any issue of insufficient phone storage space. This is a 2017 phone, so 32GB is standard capacity at that time, If you want to store many heavy game, go for phone with 256GB ROM & able to install 512GB SD card, which probably 7X of the price of J7 plus.

  • I afraid J7 plus unlikely to get Android 8, as so far J7 plus is not in the list of model getting Android 8 update, the Mediatek chips might be another reason J7 plus not getting Oreo update, as this is the only Samsung model using P20 chips, unlikely Samsung would spends time developed Oreo just for a rare model.

  • Perhaps is problem with the other person phone, you can always send it to service centre to have it check by technician, or maybe is the Telco signal weak in your area.

  • My sister uses A6+ while I use J7 +. A6 + has a bigger battery than J7 + at 3500 mAh and better primary camera lens at 16 MP. Other than that A6 + lacks button but the bezels are still significantly bigger A8 or S series.

  • Go for A6+ as C7@J7 plus is a yesteryear phone, i doubts there will be getting updates anymore, gaming definitely go for phone with Andreno GPU as the Mali GPU in C7@J7 plus is quite lagged, it took long time to load a game, even for Pokemon Go

  • So far my J7plus has good battery performance. Just make sure to clear your background apps after using the device.

  • Software update will not solve the battery draining issue (in fact there is no firmware update since launch). You should check you battery usage, Setting - Device Maintenance - Battery (See which apps is draining your battery) If everything normal then do a backup & factory reset. Lastly sent to Service Centre to check the battery see any defects or need to chance to new battery.

  • Yes is true, gaming is lagged & slow loading, for example if you check your Pokemon Go Pokedex it take long time to load those Pokemon character, the start up too very slow, hang quite often, The Mali GPU in this phone is weak. if you like gaming go for Snapdragon chips & Adreno GPU phone.

  • Camera is good for a midrange phone, you have live focus to play with since is dual lense, front camera has flash, if you see it clearly the front camera lense is on the left while the right is the front camera flash. Probably the only drawback is the Mali GPU is kind of slow when loading game, other function all good.

  • Game loading is extremely slow, even for simple game like Pokémon Go. If you like gaming avoid this phone, other aspect are OK just the Mali GPU provide by this phone is really bad, in fact is worse than 2014 Adreno 300 series GPU.

  • Made in China Snapdragon/Exynos & using China Mediatek Chips is 2 different issue, among the reason why most of us avoid Mediatek is because of the older 16nm technology, GPS issue & update issue. Further to this C7@J7plus is using lower end GPU which is can't handle intense gaming.

  • im from singapore. i just bought this phone locally. work awesomely and no overheat, no lags. battery did not drained too much as claim here. I dont understand wats the cons over this phone just becoz at most we are using snapdragon/exynos... its fine for normal use. mostly all phones are made in China even for IPhone. so i guess theres nothing too look down too much as long as it works good

There is much more work the haters' needed to do with their "historical" data for comparing Mediatek, Qualcomm and Exynos chips. I would definitely recommend this phone! It runs on Mediatek!!   • Well it all depends on the architecture of the mali gpu and the number of processing cores, that's why CPU's (or NPU's for the future) with Mali G72 ,which are the fastest from ARM, are much slower than other phones because their are less cores. Let me give you an example: Mali G72 MP4 and Mali G72 MP12, the GPU with 'MP4' has 4 cores and the 'MP12' has 12 cores, so you can guess that the Mali G72 MP12 is much faster than the MP4 variant with only 4 cores... Still Mali GPU's are powerful with many cores, but most game programmers optimize their games mostly for Adreno GPU's and that's why Adreno GPU's are usually faster. But do remember that Mali GPU's like the G72 MP20 are fast enough to handle any application flawlessly.

  • Both C7 & K7pro are using Mali GPU which not suitable for intense game, just go get a Snapdragon powered phone, as Adreno GPU much better for gaming.

  • mine does not lag in mobile legends. i think its hiccups from the internet you are using. playing a brawl gets 4% of my battery.

  • tried Mobile legends. slight hiccups. but playable. will try to play without shadows or shades in options. try to optimize gameplay by tweaking game options first before. if there is still hiccups. maybe its the gpu..

  • The truth is when you update your phone you put yourself in a bigger risk. Updates bloats your os. The truth Google apps drains your battery because it is not optimized. So I have a backup phone for internet with google apps and facebook.

  • My experience with Samsung is that there don't update phone with "Rare" chips, few years back Samsung put Nova Thor Chips in S3 mini & the phone never get updates. Another issue is Mediatek chips using 16nm tech which is more power hunger & heat up easily. Lastly Mediatek chips seem not good for GPS (my personal experience with a couple China brand phone using Mediatek chips including Xiaomi & Oppo. So now you see why people avoiding Mediatek chips phone, unless us so diet cheap like those China phone which people don't bother about performance of the phone so long as the basic functions works. But this is Samsung & price are much higher than S7pro which this C7 is originated from & it's charge 50% more.

  • Major downgrade of j7 pro. But the rear camera justifies it all. J7+ overpriced But worth it. Userfriendly camera and better competitor of dual cams.

  • But the Mediatek HelioP20 consumes way less battery and it's not that powerful compared to Snapdragon processors.Another thing is that this processor is in small numbers and this phone will hardly get software updates.

  • If you have the money,just go for the A5(2017)cause it has everything that the C7(2017)offers,sans the dual camera setup,the metal back(A5 2017 has a glass back),and a smaller screen(5.5 inch for C7 2017 vs 5.2 inch for the A5 2017).Aside from those A5(2017) has an IP68 water proofing resistance and also a very capable battery endurance

  • you should call it J7Pro with an additional camera lense, budget version S8/8+ should be A5 & A7 (2018). The Mediatek P20 refrain me from buying this phone, if only Samsung power it with Snapdragon 630 or Exynos 7880 then is good to go.

  • This is like S8/S8+ but a budget revamp out of it and no infinity display and curved edges.

  • I tried out both of this phone, seems J7+ have slight edge, as I noticed J7+ smoother, & the camera is better especially low light photos, only things you need to worry is the battery life since Mediatek P20 is a 16nm chips while Exynos 7870 is 14nm, another things to worry is older generation Mediatek chips has GPS issue not sure about current generation though. Many years ago I have a Samsung running on Nova Thor chips & Samsung never give a single update to it, Since almost all Samsung running on either Snapdragons or Exynos, there May just ignore updates for Mediatek chips model since is in small numbers.

  • 7870 is based on 14nm technology while mt6757(p20) is based on 16nm technology. Due to that 7870 is more efficient and produces less heat. Exynos 7870 is better than mediatek mt6757. If you observe the specs of both then you'll feel that mediatek is better. But look at the technology used in making both the processors.

  • Ughh... Samsung's C series is more expensive than the A series, but lacks 4k recording and some form of waterproofing, of which the A series has IP68 certification and is much more popular. The C10 with 4k recording isn't even out yet...
