I bought Samsung galaxy on 8 through flipkart. Not yet 1 month completed. But Display is gone all of a sudden. Mobile did not fell to the ground or anything happened. When i reached samsung service center for repairing as i thought my warranty will cover it. They said something and asking me 6000 rupees (inr) and told it won't cover in the warranty. Fraud people. Please anybody know where to complain about it. Please... I could not afford to give 6000 rupees at present . My financial condition is not good enough. I wanted the replacement or repair it . I charge my Samsung A9 pro 2016 using less mA charging cable so that it will take 8 hours for the charge to complete from 10%. Fast charge and charge at high mA will kill the battery's life. I do the same for my Samsung Note 4 also. It will take 3 to 4 hours for full charge from 10%.

Remove jio sim first ,then on the mobile without sim. Wait for 1 minute. Switch off .Now put the sim in and on mobile. Volte should come. Either backup and reset.

In normal mode I charged my mobile; it takes 2 hour and 30 minutes to charge from 5% to 100%. Then I put my mobile to ultra power saving mode then connected charger. Now this time it takes 2 hour and 10 minutes to charge from 5% to 100%. some tips to save battery: The following options found in devoloper options. 1. In normal mode I allowed my mobile to run background process up to 4 only. 2. Then I reduced window animation, transition animation, and animator duration to 0.5x speed Please refer to Feel free to post your comments after try these methods..

The On8 is just average in terms of performance. Rest is also taken from other phones. With the processor from J7 2015 and body from J7 2016, only advantage is the screen. The beautiful 1080p sAMOLED display that sets in the heart. Enjoying Movies videos and photos on this one is like heaven. But Gaming? Forget about it. It can play casual games well but graphic intensive games such as asphalt 8 or dead trigger will just lag. General performance and multitasking is OK for casual users but power users, stay away. Battery life is Surprisingly More than 1 Day. Sensors are also a big issue on samsung mid range. Samsung, learn from xiaomi which provides all sensors in the 5A at the price of 5000. And I payed 16,000 for this thing. And the recent On7 Prime is just garbage. Stop fooling customers. A big thumbs down for sensors.

First of all you have to check your mobiles' Baseband Version. Find through Settings->About Device->Software Info. Then visit website and download your mobiles' OS. Instructions are also avail in that website. After install please do factory reset and wipe cache. That's all.

thanks to all. I updated. And found my mobile was not heat up while downloading and installing nougat. After one hour I had reset due to considerable amount of battery drain. As our well wishers said i done factory reset. After that battery drained little more. So rolled back to Marshmallow. Now it's OK..

dont update if u r not a hardcore gamer.....battery drains very fast after update....after using 3-4 months with nougat i came back to marshmallow.....however i missed some new features...but they were not very imprtnt ....getting back to marshmallow ehnanced the battery performace and reduced the charging time.....i am happy with my phone now and ll never upgrade it to android 7

After upgrading to nougat the gaming performance improved drastically.I have tried Brothers in Arms 3,Gta liberty city stories and Asphalt 8 airborne.Each of the above mentioned games performed well without any lags or frame drops.So i am now quite satisfied with the samsung midranger.

For those, who are facing problems after Nougat Update, Please do factory reset of your mobile. Your all problems will be solved. Also freshly install all the apps after factory reset. Do not use USB or Cloud backup except Contact List. Enjoy the Nougat Update.

Battery backup is decreased to half . Before updating it lasts for one day after minimum 14 hours of heavy usage . But after upgrade to nougat it hardly lasts 10 hours of normal usage. Heavy usage means browsing internet for minimum 8 hour and watching video for 1 hour and playing game for minimum 1 hour Normal usage mean using whatsapp for 1 or 2 hour browsing internet for 15 min and no game . Also mobile has started hanging vigorously. Before update it never hanged after heavy use .

Received a 60 MB update on my Galaxy On8. Everything is pretty much the same. What's New? Samsung Pay Mini is finally available on Galaxy On8, you need to install additional content when opening the app in order to be able to use it. Another thing I noticed is that Samsung's Touchwiz launcher has been updated after the software update. You can now swipe down anywhere on the homescreen to reveal the notification panel. It's a very handy feature on big screen phones. You need to turn on this feature in settings > display > homescreen > enable quick open notification panel. That's all. Didn't find any other changes after the update. Everything is smooth and working nice.

I have updated to nougat recently too. But havn't faced a single issue. Some people think more free ram is good. But actually it is not. Good ram management keeps most used programs alredy loaded in memory to reduce startup time. Low free memory is not an issue as long as it is not lagging. One of my friend faced a camera pro mode not opening issue.. You should factory reset after update. Dont worry it wouldnt get back to marsmello. Your problems may get resolved.

Camera on the Samsung Galaxy On8 is pretty good. It's above average and better than Chinese phones.. The front camera is kinda okay, not good in artificial light. As far as gaming is concerned, it's good for casual games but not for heavy gaming. The On8 has Exynos 7580 CPU (from 2015) built on an old 28nm process so it heats up with gaming and Mali T720MP2 GPU can't handle graphics intensive games. So if you are into heavy gaming, the On8 is certainly not a good choice but if you're a normal user, it's a nice phone.

Battery life is okay and probably will last you a whole day on lihht to medium usage. The camera interface has changed and there is a problem with it. If you select the "pro" mode, the camera app hangs and then it crashes. Probably might get fixed with another update.

I too updated to android nougat and yes, the device does take time to charge but only if you are using the device while charging. If you let it be idle and don't use it, it charges fine but at a speed less than that it charged during Android 6.0. So for everyone facing the charging issues, avoid using the device while charging and close any power intensive app. That'll help to reduce the charging time.

I get LTE only mode option on my Samsung Galaxy On8 with 1 SIM Card Inserted or using a 4G only Network Operator like JIO. Samsung has disabled the default code to enable 4G LTE only mode but I've figured a way to enable LTE only option using an application called Network Mode (Developer name - Ather Akber). You can search it on the Play Store. The only downside is that, it can only enable 4G LTE mode on the first SIM. If anyone knows a way to enable 4G LTE Mode on both SIM cards (1 SIM at a time), then please post the process here..

On8 users alert ( Battery problem ) I recently found that there is a software glich on on8 which makes phone super hot just using for 5 min and battery drains out super fastly . solution worry not when I deleted every thing using recovery and factory restored it 2 times . It starts working fine again . No more fast battery drain and hotness . tip It depends upon your luck on which attempt of factory restore it works fine . It is not necessary it will work in the first time .

I agree with you. That applies to every single Android phone. Without root, there isn't so much to do to turn the phone faster. I recommend some of the following things: - in the Developer Options, change all the three animations scale to "0.5x" - TICK the "Force GPU rendering" option (this option is permanently saved between reboots) - TICK the "Disable HW overlays" option (must be ticked everytime the phone reboots) - install the app "Greenify" to hibernate every single app that you don't want to run in the background - try a different Launcher (my favourite is Nova Prime) *To enable the Developer Options, you must head over to the "About" section and tap on the "Build Number" several times (probably 7 times) *All these things work on any phone with NO ROOT and, when are all applied, you will notice that the phone becomes faster and fresh like the first day when you bought it new. Well, I can't say for sure but the only difference between J7 (2016) and On8 is the processor, RAM and full HD resolution so Nougat update should come to On8 but I guess it will come after the J7 (2016) gets it.

Sound quality is crystal clear in headphones Camera quality is also decent... Battery back up is awesome... Performence is butter smoother...but not damn good for hardcore gammer... The Samsung Galaxy On8 costs 15 k bucks, but many are complaining of heating and hanging of the phone. I am also having the same experience. 3 months after purchase my phone is heating, hanging and the screen is flickering. Brother, I am using samsung On 8. If you are willing to play hardcore games, means more harder than asphalt 8 then don't go for this phone. Asphalt 8 runs properly in this phone. If you are a normal game player and you want a phone for a complete package then you can go for this phone. A nice processor and all the sensors works pretty nice. it has been around 6 months to me for this phone , i bought this in november and still it works as if brand new(believe me it's true). Camera is nice and in-fact more better than nice. In the phones which you have listed this is the best one for a complete overall package.

Only benefit with On nxt is fingerprint but also a have no micro SD card. its doesn't worth Extra 2.5K price. So On8 is better VFM but both are strictly not for games , photography , multimedia and GPS. In Samsung you need S or Note series for all this things. On and J series are only for basic users who want Samsung device only. They are very reliable but literally just a show case , no performance and boring. Samsung Note 4 at 28K . Also Samsung should come up with Snapdragon 650/652/653 Processors as they are king of performance in mid range. Mi Max is HUGE and quite uncomfortable to use (one of my colleague uses it). Only advantage appratently Max has is the fingerprint sensor and ambient light sensor. Otherwise - you can not really compare a Samsung/ Sony/ LG / hTC phone with brands like Oppo/ Xiaomi. After some time the phones of Xiaomi / Oppo slow down compared to the reputed brands. However if you change your phone often - you can go for Mi Max (personally I hate miUI :-) )

On8 is definately better as amoled screen is definately far better than tft screens and screen is something which is the most used interface hence ur photos will look good videos will look good consumes less power further on nxt have gorilla glass which can be compesated by fitting a screen tempered glass on on8 i did the same further if u have die hard requirement for fingerprint sensor then only go for on nxt in my opinion a good screen is much needed than occasionally used fingerprint sensor hence on8 is best buy further it is economical too

They all are similar / same ( 5.5 inch , Octa Core , Min 2 GB / 16 GB Combo , 13 mega pixel camera ), but Samsung made sure that there are differences by altering certain components on each devices. Ui is fine. Nowadays Ui is rarely laggy for mid range phones like this. Games however are a bit laggy as the processor isn't very good for a 1080 screen. It should get 7.0 but Samsung have been pretty poor at supporting mid range devices like this. If it does get 7.0 then that will be the last.

Then swictch off ur net and force stop your my jio app Then open the jio app and then clik on jio account then u see the option get jio sim and then switch on the net tgen click on get jio sim and follow the steps

I checked the spec of both J7 (2016) and On8. Both are almost same, except... On8 has 3 GB RAM and full HD. It means On8 has better spec in memory and display. J7 2016 is better.The screen is only HD so it's GPU can handle the games like a pro.Fast and smooth gaming on J7.On the On8 it lags a bit and has bad frame rate but the screen is better.

Jio sim will work, but app cannot generate the barcode yet. And the Reliance store (Sarjapur, Bangalore) is not accepting sim requests without the barcode. Guess we'll have to wait for the app update to recognize the On8 as a 4G phone!

It's a shame that Samsung seems to have started to put 5.5 inch screens (or larger) on almost all their phones that are decent with specs. Like they are abandoning phones and turning to phablets only in the mid to higher range of devices. That rejects me from buying their phones as I find my current 4.95 inch Nexus 5 to have an ideal screen size and would not go beyond 5.2-5.3 inches. And also the fact that they will always have a price higher than the competing devices just because they are called "Samsung".

Its the Exynos 7580. Neither processor is going to do well in gaming with a 1080 screen. Performance wise there is little to choose between them. This device scores 42k in Antutu while the 7870 scores 43k. You want good gaming you should get Snapdragon 650/652 or spend a bit more for a 820 chip.

For all those deciding between J7 prime and this phone please note that the J7 Prime is using newer chipset but same clock speed. So performance will be similar but J7 Prime should have slightly better battery life. The GPU on the ON8 is the Mali T720 MP2 while the J7 prime uses a newer Mali T830 MP2 which should mean slightly better performance in high end games. The ON8 does lag in very high quality games like Nova 3 but runs lesser games like Temple run 2 or Real racing 3 just fine. J7 prime also has fingerprint scanner and I believe (but not certain) a compass sensor which the ON8 lacks. Thankfully both phones have dual SIM cards AND a memory card slot. No hybrid slot BS. Both phones have removable batteries and just 10 GB of internal memory usable. The main USP of the ON8 other than the price which is around 3k cheaper is the display. The J7 has a standard 1080 LCD display while the ON8 has OLED display where the screen is capable of shutting off individual pixels meaning you get 100% black levels. Great for movie watching and if you use a dark theme can improve battery life too. I personally bought the ON8 only because of the 1080 AMMOLED display and little else ! :P Also with the ongoing sale it was available for 15k with a 32 GB SD card.

Once again, another lame release lacking even a basic sensor like Compass (no GPS). Fingerprint is already lacking, and, of course, no dual band wifi support. None of the 3 phones have a good GPU. But the J7 has a 720p screen which isn't sharp but allows the GPU to have more breathing room and so should offer better fps. However the J7 Prime has a full HD screen so games will look better but the GPU is entry level and will struggle with very high quality games. You want to run the latest games then go for something with a fast GPU like the Lenovo Z2 plus.
